A favourite walking spot, shade on hit days, protection from icy winds in winter. So much for a dog to smell
I would highly recommend coming to this park when it's a clear early morning or when the sun is starting to set so if you are going to go for a sunset walk in this area, go to the lake. Also make sure to snap a pic.
Lovely park, very well-maintained and clearly loved. A peaceful environment and suitable for easy walks (saw a few joggers, as well) and of course, great to see the lake. The bridges are well-kept too. Good place to visit and spend time.
Well kept walking paths, spots to sit by the lake and soak up the views, boardwalks, bridges toilets and benches. Not too big. A fantastic lake tucked in a convenient part of surbubia.
Great park and usually isn't crowded at all. If you want to enjoy some great scenery alongside a quiet and peaceful atmosphere, then this is the place to be 👍
Love the trek here. Been here a few times mostly during mornings. One thing to be kept in mind especially when visiting early mornings or late evenings during autumn, the toilets are closed until 7 or 8 am in the morning. So be aware of that in case you plan to visit early morning. There are slides and stuff for the kids. Overall the park is pretty beautiful with lots of trees and bushes. You will enjoy a walk if you love nature.
Nice park for a walk in the suburbs. Great bird life to veiw. A modern kids playground and a visitor centre. A selection of trails, longest about 2.5 kms around the lake.
Large and lovely place to walk. Feels like you are far out the city. Good for kids too.

This place shows why Australia can't give up on Chinese population or their money. A pleasant and yummy experience when Melbourne's cold June, dark, 5 degree windy night.
Great place, lots of food around but CRAZY HARD TO NAVIGATE. It's obviously partly my fault though. For anyone going, I recommend using the physical maps around instead of google maps to navigate it. There is only one exit, and it is the one in the middle. Hope this helps.
Just wish that they had English labels on so that I can enjoy this place as much as everyone else is. One of the most lively neighborhoods in Melbourne
I don’t usually shop here, I just pass through. There are many shops, groceries, cafés, and restaurants, but the centre often smells unpleasant.
Every time the toilets are dirty, Vicinity centres seem to take profits but never hire enough cleaners to go around cleaning the centre and keeping toilets clean. Today there was poo on the floor in one cubicle, the other free cubicle had urine everywhere on the floor. Zero out of 3 handwashes had detergent and hand sanitiser on the wall had nothing or doesn't even work. Constant birds flying around dropping poo or whatever comes off there body overhead and is unsafe having open food around because of this. There is so much build up of bird poo up top, some of it drips down the walls to people underneath eating. It's disgusting and not clean. Something should be done about this, you cannot tell if there is poo on tables or debris off the dirty sick looking ones and are staff using the same cloth to wipe poo and wipe tables clean because it looks like it
A typical asian shopping centre where you get to choose all sorts of veges, fruits, fresh produce, instant noodles, asian snacks and retail experiences. The veges and fruits are fresh and much cheaper compared to some local supermarkets. There are quite a selection of eateries and restaurants if you long for some asian food especially chinese. 😎😎
I’ve visited Box Hill Central Market, and overall it’s a clean and pleasant place with a good variety of items available. However, in terms of pricing, the fruit and meat market doesn’t quite match the expectation of a traditional market! In fact, you might find that you’d get better deals at Coles or Woolworths. While it’s a nice spot to shop, just be aware that the prices are more in line with a standard supermarket rather than a “market” experience :)
Today went to box Hill centrel afrer not been for many years alot of new shops and produce to choose from

Box hill gardens used to be lovely, it has a park that suited everyone- a playground for families, a running track and a multipurpose space. Now that the Eastern Railway is getting constructed, there are a lot of the park that got blocked off. The running track got shorter and shorter! I am not sure whether the playground would still be there once they are done with it 😕 overall this park is beautiful and peaceful would recommend 10/10 also got to see some baby ducks 🦆
Plenty of groups meeting and mostly respecting others around them. Huge playground, a walking track, dogs on and off lead, pond with ducks, a wall for tennis, table tennis tables, basketball court and netball ring, undercover area and riding/skating area ....loads to do but plenty of open space. Just don't assume you can share the space the "dancing ladies" use each morning. The passive aggressive volume changes in their music will make it quite uncomfortable to be around. Otherwise, the best utilised park I've been to!
This park offers a one kilometer run or walk, located opposite Box Hill Hospital. Dogs are allowed on leashes, but alligators are not allowed, even on leashes. There is a playground and play equipment for children, shaded seating and a basketball court. Next to the court is an aged care facility.
Amazing place to play!! Family friendly, ample parking, parks, playgrounds, playgrounds, BBQ area, bathroom facilities, water taps, shade & amazing multi-use Multi-sport space for Basketball (high chance of playing friendly fun pickup games), soccer, cricket, BMX, table tennis, netball, mini athletics track etc 🥰
Good atmosphere. The pond is very nice, and the playground too. I ran 2.7km there on the running track.
The newly built playground is amazing. The climbing tower is more suitable for older kids as they're quite high but the lower equipments and soft ground is great for younger ones. It could do with more picnic benches but there's lots of very nice grass area where you can just throw your picnic mats. Be very aware of the lake. Few times this year when I visited, I have seen lots of dead fish either floating on the lake or the path around the lake.
Excellent clean park in the heart of Box Hill. Very clean and perfect for walks and dogs. There is a thin running track built into the path so there is an excellent 1 km loop to do for runners. There is a playground for kids and a public toilet inside as well.
It's a really good park/dog park/playground/outdoor sports courts, with bbq area and 2 public toilet areas. It has a pretty big variety of play area for different age groups, and they're clean too (which is very important for me). The tall main slide is crazy good, with different access points. The flying fox is good too, as the starting point is much higher, giving it a good slide. And! 1 of the unique feature here is the mini trampoline! Gosh my kid loves it so much!

If you’re a photographer, don’t miss annual photo market. It’s a second hand camera market where you can find treasures. I found a rare soviet lens for my Zenith.
On Sunday the 25 May, I went to the Box Hill Town Hall for the Japan Festival, which I must say it was an absolutely fantastic experience and a very professionally organized event 🇯🇵♥️🇦🇺
We loved to showcase our outfits at World Salsita Festival in this venue hospitality and service were exceptional!
The studio pottery collection is well worth a visit. The pottery has been collected by Box Hill Shire for over 30 years, by local professional potters.
Excellent place to conduct events, parties for around 200 guests in the main hall. There are sufficient facilities in the hall for supporting the event's.
Recently we hired the hall for fund raising dinner and it was well presented. Kitchen facilities were excellent. Well maintained and clean washroom facilities. The night duty Manager was very helpful in making sure everything goes well. Very soon I will hire again for next program. Mohammed
Typical Town Hall venue, quite nicely done up in side. Parking is a major nightmare. Box Hill is a very busy area and parking restrictions are everywhere. Where you can park you have to pay, buy a ticket or you will almost certainly get fined. Toilets facilities are very modern and sparkling clean. Staff were friendly, but it was a Hall hire for the function I was at so it's really the caterers, not Box Hill Town Hall.
The interior of the town hall is impressive and the main hall is spacious. The stage is large and well-equipped, making it an ideal space for performances, presentations, and speeches.

Beautiful little gem hidden in the suburbs. Lots of walking paths with birds, ponds and a small stream. There are well kept toilets and drinking water available. There is also a visitor centre which was closed on the weekend I visited. It's quiet and you only hear cars if you're on one of the paths next to the road. Such a pleasant place!
An amazing walking trail with accessibility in mind for individuals that have limited mobility And for more mobile people that are dedicated tracks to be able to get You're Daily steps in.
Beautiful natural escape with well-maintained trails and absolutely stunning scenery! Perfect for hiking, picnics, and wildlife spotting. Clean facilities, ample parking, and peaceful atmosphere away from city noise. A true local gem that never disappoints!
Stunning place, compliments to the volunteers who have maintained this place of hidden wonder
Probably the naturally most beautiful nature reserve we’ve visited in the suburban Melbourne east area. Heaps of detours for kids’ adventures among beautiful bridges and waterways. Great place for a weekend walk!
Tucked in from the road with toilets and parking. Walked down from deep creek road through a tree lined path lovely bush walk along the creek with well maintained paths plenty of bird life at the cottage end there is a large grassed area. Plenty of shade on the walk.
Lovely, peaceful place to go for a walk! Lots of great scenery and wildlife there — also lots of slopes but it was a fun place to explore.
Beautiful gem hidden within Mitcham. You can't believe you're in the suburbs and within minutes from the busy Eastlink freeway and Eastland/Costco area of Ringwood. My favourite place to go for a walk; it's very safe and you still get 4G on your phone!! There are plenty of trails and one leads directly to nearby Schwerkolt Cottage and Museum. The carpark nearest the toilets and info centre is at Ashburton Drive and you can refill your water bottle there as well. The bike track goes all the way to Mullum Mullum Creek I can spend two hours here just leisurely walking and being in nature, listening to the birds and watching the ducks. There's a pond and parts of the creek along the walk, with naturally fallen trees creating bridges. Just absolutely my go-to place for when the weather is perfect to go for walks or even a jog/run! Dogs must be on a leash.

Nice, bushy park with a creek and connected to two other parks if you would like a longer trail to walk/bike on. Peaceful and with lots of trees. Beautiful place.
Spacious and not crowded. Great place for a simple picnic and play. The playground is a bit old but functional and tidy. Limited tables and benches but a quiet area most of the time.
Lovely nature walking trail with lots of trees and different directions to take for different walks. Also large grass areas to play ball with dogs. Some areas of the trail aren't very wide and won't fit pedestrians and cyclists so I encourage cyclists to use their bells when approaching pedestrians especially those walking dogs. There's no carpark but there is street parking available, with lots of places to enter the park you can park in a number of streets for easy access.
Minor cricket ground...very small and limited parking....the people at the Cricket Club are great.
Nice simple field for games or a run. It's well maintained and clean.
I had a fantastic experience at this place! the atmosphere was welcoming, and everything was clean and well-organized.
Very nice park that offers a great escape from life. It is very quiet and clean, and is a great place to go for all ages, and can be enjoyed by anyone. I walk my dogs their most days and they seem to enjoy the quite walks down the nature trail quite a lot,not too many bikers or runners.
Nice place for walking and running. There is also a Children’s playground. Thanks.

One of the prettiest parks. The trees are so beautiful. Great bbq and play area for kids. Good parking.
The holiday park provides a decent play ground for outdoor activities, though not overly large. It’s a good spot for a short stay or a quick visit. The WC is conveniently located nearby, making it easy for families to access. While simple, it offers a comfortable and practical environment for guests.
Pretty busy on a winter Sunday afternoon. There was plenty of play equipments and BBQ for the family gatherings. But the basketball court was the main attraction for the local boys.
Blink and you'll miss it. Which is a bummer because this is a lovely little park. Great playground for the kids (and silly old blokes like me) inclusive of a zip line, swings and a heap of others. Some BBQ-s with decent tables and seats, toilets and lots of open space. Great!
This playground is not super big but packed with lots of modern facilities for kids to play. The playground is designed for kids of all ages. Toilets, bbq, basketball court, flying fox. The facilities are very complete. A perfect place for kids to enjoy.
Great park for kids. So much to do. Lots of places to sit, barbeques available. Beautiful shady trees. Could do with a larger covered area
Halliday Park is a gem of a playground and a wonderful location full stop for adults and those seeking a friendly place to congregate. With its lovely mature oak trees providing shade, BBQ facilities, toilet block nearby and rose garden, Halliday truly is the type of playground you’ll be happy to return to. The playground itself is excellent - a variety of play areas to suit different ages and abilities; from small-scale climb and slide areas, to a ‘water play’ section complete with water pump and ‘gates’ for play at damming and releasing the flowing water, to a small I ground trampoline to the various swings; Halliday ticks almost all the boxes.

Amazing!!! Anyone who knows me will tell you I love a good historical property & it did not disappoint. Having meant to visit for many years, I finally made it and it was worth the wait. So much time & money has clearly been invested in this amazing snippet of early Melbourne orcharding. Even the 18 year old enjoyed it! Just wonderful, thanks to all those involved, historical society, council etc, over so many years to get it to this point.
A fabulous time machine. Not only the older pioneer exhibits, but household items from the 1930s onwards, some stuff that my grandparents had. Make sure you visit the museum section and not just the cottage and sheds. There's a great local history section in addition to glimpses of life 100-200 years ago.
A hidden gem, one of the best councils in Melbourne I'm guessing, as this is still free and not taken over by housing developments
This museum offered an enriching, joyful experience from the moment I walked in. The thoughtful curation brought diverse themes together in an elegant way. The staff greeted me warmly and didn’t hesitate to share fascinating bits throughout the tour. The interactive exhibits, especially the augmented reality features, were a thrilling surprise. The venue was immaculate and the lighting gorgeous. I found myself lingering longer than planned because there was so much to enjoy. A true highlight of the cultural scene!
Have lived in the area for a long time and didn't know this place existed! Came for the family day which was great. Has some cool rooms and display items to show how people lived back in the day with electricity. Worth a visit if in the area and looking for something to do with kids. There's also a playground and BBQ area.
Quaint, lovely historical site close to Costco. There's a playground and open space nearby. Drop-by if you're on the Eastlink Trail.
I had never been inside the cottage before, but had been to the park many times on days the cottage is closed (it's only open on weekends). The volunteers were informative, and it's great to see this piece of local history. I had no idea the museum was there. It has some amazing treasures inside. Definitely worth a visit. Not to mention, you can take a walk along the Eastlink Trail and the creek.
Tucked off deep creek road near the cottage is a secluded park that has a walking track to quarry road at the deep creek end ample parking with a playground and BBQ. Opens to a grass clearing with a shared bike and walking path that winds along the creek towards quarry road. The path has a fork with a bridge over the creek you can go left or right as the path will loop back either way. Good 40 minute round trip walk in the late evening plenty of bird life.

Lovely park for a short nature walk, there’s a few paths to go down if you’d like a longer walk, too. Love to see all the trees! Everything is well-maintained. It does get busy on weekends, and for good reason.
"A Peaceful Green Escape in Mitcham" Antonio Park, located in Mitcham, right next to Antonio Park Primary School, is a beautiful and peaceful park filled with tall trees and a relaxing atmosphere. Despite being close to Maroondah Highway, the park feels calm and quiet, allowing visitors to enjoy nature without distraction. Plenty of seating areas, including shaded spots and wooden picnic tables scattered throughout the park. ✅ Children’s Playground & Family-Friendly Space: A dedicated playground area for kids, which is accessible and due for an upgrade soon. Whether you're looking for a quiet place to unwind, a spot for a BBQ with family, or a peaceful trail for a walk or cycle, this park is a hidden gem in Mitcham. A great place to relax and enjoy nature!
Nice park. Very noisy with traffic. There is a walking track, BBQ facilities with a very small undercover shelter and a few tables with bench seats. Playground for the kids and a toilet.
Went for a picnic here. Absolutely loved the place. Nice little park, sufficient picnic benches, and lovely trails around for a walk
Nice place to take the dog for a walk and a BBQ
Lovely suburban bush park with plenty of native flora and fauna, including resident wallabies
Toilet black right near the play equipment is nice and convenient, looks of wide open space to run around or kick a ball. Picnic tables had a good view of play ground so you could sit and eat while keeping an eye on your kids.
This place is a great Park for dogs and other animals to run around, the only problem being that there is a hefty amount of shrubbery in the middle. Its got a nice playground that is still in very good condition for its age, and it also connects to another Park down the road. It also has a nature ti walk down along the sides of the park.

Pleasant (shortish) walk through suburbia. Good for a short cut and / or to get some exercise. Dirt stone paths that can get muddy in parts after heavy rain. Two separate playgrounds. Lots of seating along the way if you want to take a break or have a chat. Some largish open areas. Well kept.
Great place for a walk and to see a small patch of remnant vegetation. And look! Native fruit nearby
This place is a tiny piece of natural bush snack in the middle of suburbia. It's a credit to the volunteers who keep it that way. Thank you.

Lovely and bushy walk through nature. Great to go down the series of connected parks as well to extend the walking circuit but everything is well maintained here and beautiful.
Really lovely relaxing playground, such a peaceful place to just relax and enjoy the sound of the birds
Had good fun at this small little park. There’s a nice short trail that you can take with small kids.
A lovely bushy park for a rambling walk. Not far from main roads, but it’s a real patch of nature. Lots of rainbow lorikeets.
A relaxing and tranquil break from the bustle of suburbia, only gripe is that certain dog owners disobey the on-the-leash guidelines. Personally witnessed a small child get mildly nipped by an eager poodle running amok. Needless to say the owner was rightfully scolded.
A small but picturesque playground. The environment is beautiful - springtime includes many native birds and the small loop walk is easy and inviting.
As I was raised only half a mile from this park, with Gardiner's Creek flowing through it, it tugs at my heartstrings whenever I visit. You can enter either from the bottom of Gardenia Street, or Main Street. There is an abundance of native flora, with safe paths created here and there-- and I could hear the happy cries of wattlebirds and magpies all around. And they say that the ringing of bell birds can be heard, if you come on a lucky day... There is also a small children's playground on the South side in a clearing, I believe.
Well what a little piece of Paradise this small children's Park is. I went there with my grandchildren recently as their Mother has done so many times. Oh we were near the Gum trees and little birds , it was beautiful. There are a few swings , one swing for Special Needs children and just a couple of other items. Just enough for a happy play for the children and myself. Another Adult arrived with a small child and we're happily enjoying the facilities and surrounds. Just a delightful experience.

Fantastic park/community garden. The park is fairly large. They have a couple of little areas with play equipment. A bike path weaves its way through it. It's amazes me that we can have a park this big, green,
It’s a beautiful natures reserve for walking under lots of shades and boardwalks. Parts of it are wheelchair, prams and cycling friendly. I see a group doing their taichi from 10.30am Mon-Fri
Beautiful park for a nature walk! Clearly well-maintained, and has branching paths throughout the park, as well as a playground on either end. Can get quite hilly, as per the area, so please keep this in mind. Love the boardwalks! Felt very immersive, especially as it wasn’t busy.
My favourite local park. Very serene, well maintained walkways. Areas that still feel like you’re out in the bush. Quite a few playground areas.
Very nice park. A few tracks along the nature corridor makes it feel more interesting. Water and bins are available both ends of the park. Dogs love it.
A beautiful place to walk your dog. There are gravel paths or timber walkways. The east side path is relatively flat, but the western side does have some inclines. We also passed many friendly people out walking as well. Had a lovely morning here.
Bellbird Dell Reserve is a very tranquil nature reserve in Vermont. If you live anywhere nearby it's a great place to come for a pleasant stroll. Plenty of shade along the paths so it's good on a hotter day also. If you're quiet, there is a good amount of wildlife around, mostly birds but you will occasionally see a blue tongue lizard or frogs.
Beautiful place to walk with loads of paths, a couple of ponds with ducks and heaps of native bush. Breath that fresh air. Yum

Lots of wide, open space and also some bushland tucked away. Great place for a walk or a bike ride. A creek runs through here as well. Connected to Kalang Park if you’d like to extend the trail, which is nice!
A great track for a walk or run. If lucky, might find the occasional 🦆 chilling on the bridge!
Short but pleasant. Conjoined with two adjacent parks so can do the loop of the 3 parks at a leisurely stroll in about an hour. Lots of wildlife! Dogs must be kept on leash.
Good walk. Stream with fish, and trees with plenty of birds
Been here a few times and will come back. Staff are so friendly, sites are nice and the amenities are first class. The babbling river creates such an ambience. General store out the front (separate) means you're never without good food and coffee!
Beautiful walk with creek, native vegetation and many birds. Would be good picnic spot in summer as one open lawn space. Small playground at one point. No toilet block though. A lovely spot to escape suburbia!!
Good nature walking experience considering your pretty close to some major roads and in the middle of suburbia. Car parking available and links to other walking parks in the area. Dirt / stone pathways in natural setting. Creek views in parts and a lot of bird noises about as you go.
Awesome for walking, running or cycling. There's a creek that flows through the reserve. Really green in spring. Highly recommended if you are looking for a place to get some fresh air.

Considering the City of Monash does very poorly when it comes to FULLY-FENCED dog parks, this fully fenced reserve is great and the fence is secure. Not sure how the sporting clubs feel about it but it was a great space for the dogs to run without fear of them ending up on a busy road.
Nice park, plenty of parking and plenty of oval space (with more than one oval)! Has a small playground outside as well and indoor sports facilities. Looks good all around.
Nice and clean for some play
Clean facilities and easy location for games. Plenty of parking
Beautiful park and well maintained with a nice walking track. Very dog friendly and next to a large fenced oval.

Nice open grass areas with shady trees for a comfortable picnic. There's a small play area for the kids, and a good open area for dogs to run.
Nice space to catch one's breath. Trail and road around makes it ideal for a walk/run/jog. Pretty trees. Especially nice during autumn. Dogs must be on a leash.
This is one stop shop for pizza, fish and chips and burgers. There is a small dining area inside and they are conveniently open when others are often closed. The burgers are excellent. Meals can be a little pricey though.
They really need to do more with this space. Such a great big green area for kids to run around in the playground, although it needs replacement, is still useable and enjoyed by our children. The water can be an issue if you are trying to walk through the middle as it is obviously a basin. It gets very spongey. Dog walkers of course love it here but the majority of them don’t seem to realise that it’s an area where dogs have to be on a leash. Dog owners also fail to realise that you need to pick up dog waste at times which can make it a bit disgusting.
Nice largish green patch with dirt / stone walking track, seating, playground and drinking tap. Can be used as a pass through to get you to other places. It can get quite soggy underfoot quickly, it is a basin after all and right next door to Melbourne Water flood retarding basin. Find it quite a relaxing spot.
Nice little park where people can walk their dogs and bring their kids to the playground. At certain part it gets muddy even when it's a sunny day.
