Many birds! Calm & quiet (until someone brings food for the birds(don't bring bread folks!)). Many seats and tables. Toilets. Walking tracks. Different areas for different types of birds. Also cute tiny hidden painted signs and fairy doors.
Beautiful reservoir with lots of bird wildlife around the lake. Pleasant walk around the lake and through the grassland area with plenty of photo opportunities for bird lovers or nature photographers. A few places to picnics, toilet facilities and great for children. Wheelchair and pushchair friendly, and a great hour or two spent here.
Beautiful place, a lot of birds..
This is a hidden gem in the rural town of Traralgon, well worth a visit for a short break or walk around - and if you are into bird watching that is a bonus!
This was a beautiful morning out for me and my 4 year old. It has toilets and water and nice places to sit with kids for a picnic. Very picturesque on a gorgeous May day. Easy to navigate with prams and bikes
This is a beautiful nature reserve hidden away in Traralgon that has a gravel walking track, plenty of seating with picnic tables, public toilets and information signs. The lake is nice with birdlife and many water lillies and also a viewing platform. There is parking available.
Just on the edge of town and a great walk around the dam which is wheelchair friendly. Abundant bird life to feed. Picnic tables but need a clean before use. Public toilet. A hide to spy on the bird life. Tree's and grasses native to the area. Great for children to check out nature.
First week of March in Traralgon was not cold at all. Beautiful walk around the railway reservoir. Pedestrian Bridge and walkways in the park were under construction, even though the complex date has passed. It was pleasing to watch the native birds habitat around the park!

Great place for a in-between stop when travelling. It has all the amenities you need for a comfortable rest point. Quiet during weekdays, but extremely popular on the weekends with families and large groups. Kids are in heaven with all the play equipment here too. Mini train operational days are super busy.
Amazing park and playground. Toilets (with toilet paper and soap!!), drinking fountain, all access playgrounds for all ages - from toddlers to teens/grown up kids! A wheelchair swing. BBQ area and tons of picnic benches. It’s a lovely stopover spot or to spend a day. Lots of ground for dogs to have a run around too. Victory Park, connected, is beautiful with plenty of shade, scenic walks and roses. Gorgeous place next to the railroad. Plenty of parking.
We had 2 special needs wee ones with us, in reality it's a nice little park, but its proximity to a main road with no fencing to slow kids down from running onto the road can be quite concerning.
Great playground in Traralgon. Train is a major theme of this park. There is a big makeshift train with in-built slides, games and obstacle course in the middle and a mini rail track on the side. Plenty of picnic tables, also decorated into trains. Lots of public toilets too. No, toilets have nothing to do with trains. Not everything is in the form of a train.
Great park for kids from toddlers and up. Plenty of room for lots of families to come and enjoy.
Reasonably clean toilets, and clean park grounds. Lovely big trees along the river.
I believe the playground area was clean and tidy and we'll maintained including the toilets around it
Kids will spend hours here playing. Plenty of seating for the parents. Has undercover seats too. Toilets are well kept. A nice stop.

A very warm welcome with a smiling and very helpful staff. Thank you very much for all the tips and generosity. 🙏
Shout out to the lovely lady who worked at the info desk on Good Friday 18.04.25. we were greeted with a welcoming warm smile. we asked for maps and Cafes that were open. she was courteous with a great smile and gave us plenty of information.. she's a keeper if she's representing Traralgon. Hope this feedback gets passed onto her.
Nice new information Centre. However it hasnt got any signs outside. I recognised it by the bright orange paint. The onlilne map of Traralgon is out of date. Good customer service
Thank you to the lovely attendant who kindly helped me this afternoon 😊 a great information centre.
I recently made a telephone enquiry to this visitor info center, and the lady which I spoke to was very friendly and helpful, and had a great deal of knowledge regarding the local area, which was of great help to me
Absolutely love it! Really friendly staff and most helpful, Traralgon and surrounds should be real proud of it!
So help fully thanks happy new year

There’s a great view over Loy Yang and an active power plant. During the day there’s a lot of action. No facilities like toilets but the view is 5 star.
Being a retired (copper) miner, Brad is drawn to anything to do with mining. We found this very interesting to visit after being to the Powerworks Education Centre at Morwell. We learnt a lot.
Great view of the power station. Would recommend bringing your own binoculars if you want a close up look.
Miners lookout is an amazing view into the Loy Yang Mine that provides coal to the power station that generates 25%+ of the electricity for the state of Victoria. You will have seen nothing like it before.
This is a great spot to witness mining operations up close before they come to an end in the next few years. The site offers binoculars, allowing visitors to get an excellent view of the ongoing activities from a distance. It’s a unique opportunity to observe the processes involved in mining, which will soon be a thing of the past at this location. Whether you're interested in the machinery, the workers, or the overall operations, having the chance to see it firsthand is a rare experience. As the mine prepares to shut down, this site offers a fleeting look into a world that will soon disappear. Make sure to take advantage of this opportunity to witness mining in action while you still can.
Really a nice lookout with 2 binoculars placed to see around the Coal mine and surroundings. Situated 400m from main road the views to mines and the broad views from here to the landscape looks quite good. We went on a Good Friday public holiday at 10AM & noticed that the main gate to lookout road was closed. How we when we returned same way by 11AM they had it opened then.
Great place to go if you like to take in the enormous mine where it goes to run and generate one of the few remaining coal fired generators. You can even use the telescopes they have provided to get a closer view.
It was shut. I came at 12.30pm and there was no fire ban.

Beautiful historic peaceful church
Very peaceful and beautiful Church.
Very nice church, unfortunately it was a funeral that I had to attend but it has a very nice appearance both inside and out, it would be fantastic for a wedding.
Great church, many school masses at this church as a young bloke.. The place has kept up well. There used to be gold fish around the entrances. I wonder if they still keep them. i forgot to look :/
A feeling of peace when entering into this Church. It will always be the people's Church.(mine)!! Thank you for my memories.
St Michael's is a lovely church and nicely situated in Traralgon's CBD.
Lovely church. Very clean.

Great range of fresh goods and produce.
First time going to this farmers market. Lovely produce! There is plenty of food and coffee. It's good to see lots of locals patronising the stores.
Beautiful local ingredients that add so much more flavour to your cooking. Even provide great craft supplies and plants! (I had the best beetroot and cream cheese muffin last time I was there. I know, sounds gross, but trust me it's like the best cake you've ever had but healthier.)
Wide variety of stalls, would definitely recommend visiting if you're in the area.
Good variety of stalls, not too much of the same thing. Great location, variety of local produce. We came away with sourdough bread, pastries, cheeses, garlic and rice cakes. We ate lunch whilst we were there.
A great market for buying fresh food among other things but a lot of the stalls typically have organic produce which automatically means the prices are high. One of the highlights though is the Lions Club stall selling sausages in bread, egg/bacon sandwiches and so on.
I didn't think I would buy anything but found it hard to resist the fresh local produce. Bought most of my food from there and consequently much less from the supermarket!
A nice and vibrant market on 4th Saturday of each month. You can enjoy foods, gourmet jams and salad dressing, free face painting, live music by Ampworks Audio and lot more. Good for family day out and getting fresh staffs.

A great medium sized shopping centre with many good variety stores. Kmart and Coles are the main stores. We had lunch at a small sushi bar called Hello Sushi and loved it.
I've been coming here for many years. Today there was a fire evacuation. I was So appalled at the lack of response from both, patrons and management staff. The siren was not loud enough, but in between, You could not hear the voice for clear instruction, which exit to use. People don't often read evacuation material, preferring to believe it won't happen to them. Clearer instructions should be given on where to go. Which exit is safe. Among other issues were the people standing around at the Glass door entrances and on the road, along with the cars, still driving in, obstructing and impending Fire Trucks. The evacuation couldn't be more disorganised, than if it was controlled by a 10 yr old. In fact, even my kids had a better understanding of where to go and what to do. I hope they take heed. It's a disaster waiting to happen.
We live one hours drive away but often spend a Saturday afternoon shopping eating and just hanging out with COUNTRY PEOPLE. a very pleasant place to be
Very good shopping centre. Good range of shops inside. Food court down one end. Clean and tidy. Decent amount of parking available.
Good variety of shops. Gets quite busy but still able to shop and walk around easily. Kmart open till late which is great.
Reguarly deliver to this place with nothing but issues ring the bell several times to no avail even tho you hear them inside Conrad's the main guy thats there usually just sitting 10m away from the door ignoring the bell then is rude when just spent 20mins there with another truck driver waiting ringing bell and calling them then lady came from front of store to open door Conrad's sitting there 10m from door on his chair just ignoring us then continues to be rude cause he had to use lift to bring his pallet up as there was access
At the end of the day it's a shopping centre. Decent variety of shops. Toilets way cleaner than Westfield Fountain Gate.
One of the better malls around rural victoria where I’m currently staying at for the time being I really love the bookstore here!

The volunteers here are so friendly. The trains are fun to ride and go just long enough for little toddlers to not get bored.

Kid's love this train ride. Nice place

Beautiful spot to relax and kill some time with a nice book. Couple of magpies were not stoked to see me though.
If you are looking for a place to enjoy sunset view from certain heights . It’s not a best place to enjoy over. It’s more like a place near Agl plants and google map won’t take exactly at spot. You will need to find it a lot. And not best place to visit alone at sunset time.
Really good close up view of the power station.
Listed as something more than it turned out to be. It is a vacant "picnic"area adjacent to the entrance to Loy Yang B Power Station. Not possible to see the open cut pit to the north,
Would be a better place to see if they trimmed a lot of the trees. Not a good place to view everything.
A good spot to stop and stretch the legs. And at the same time have a look at one of Victoria's largest power stations. BBQ and basic toilet facilities here. No bins, so take your rubbish with you.
Wonderful view and the lights are stunning at night!
Good place to see the power plant up close but the picnic area felt a bit sad.
