The scenery was absolutely stunning! We did a partial snow hike, starting at 11:30 and reaching Eagle’s Nest Point by 3:30, catching the last chair lift back just before 3:45. It was an awesome hike and a great experience overall! If you’re planning to go snow hiking, make sure to wear proper clothing and snow shoes. We had all the gear, which made the hike much easier and more enjoyable — a well-packed and thoroughly fun adventure!
An incredible experience! I took the chairlift and spent about 2.5 hours walking from the Thredbo Chairlift Top Station to the summit of Mt Kosciuszko. The trail is mostly flat and easy, with amazing views along the way. You'll pass the highest restaurant and even the highest "dunny" in Australia—how cool is that? Reaching the highest point on the continent felt truly rewarding. Just make sure to plan your time well and check the chairlift timetable—we almost missed it, which would have added another 2 hours walking back down. Overall, a memorable and scenic adventure that’s worth every step!
Absolutely loved being able to walk to the highest mountain in Australia. Locals advised us to walk from Charlotte Pass. Easy to park as we arrived early morning. Toilet at car park. 18.6km return walk. Charlotte Pass is 1755m above sea level Mt Kosciuszko 2228m. The track is well maintained, sign posted and slowly takes you up to the mountain on a wide track. Beautiful flowers, scenery and the Snowy River on the way. We stopped at Seamans Hut for a bite to eat & a chat with two knowledgeable Rangers. Toilet near hut. Another toilet (the highest in Australia) is at Rawsons Pass, just before the last 1.7km to the top. This is the steepest part of the walk, but still ok. Amazing to reach the summit and to be on top off Australia. Cairn and information board there. Ensure you check the weather before going, be prepared with a coat incase conditions change. Wear sunscreen and good walking shoes. We saw all ages walking. The track became busier when we reached Rawson Pass with the people that had caught the chairlift.
Kozzy? Bloody completed it mate! In a white out too! Didn’t see the sights but experienced all the mountain had on a windy snowy day!!
The highest mountain in Australia with variety of things to see like caves, thermal pools, ski etc..
Epic hike to do in November when there is still little snow.
Route to the peak: comfortable and light Overall, it’s a good comfortable walk on a prepared trail. Don’t take tracking poles with you if you don’t want to carry them in hands the whole way (on other routes they will be more in use). There are one stop with restrooms (btw the highest one in Australia:)) on the route. The restaurant (near the lift station) works until 3pm. They say it takes 4-6h, but it really depends on weather and your physical conditions. For example, we did round-trip in Summer less than 3h.
Easy walk to the summit. Great look outs and track. Very popular. Veiws are pretty good. No loos or bins. The operator needs to have the chair lift on a separate ticket, it’s very unclear on line.

Highly recommended! Me and my family had a fantastic time at Perisher Ski Resort. The facilities were great, and the snow was perfect for all skill levels. I’d especially like to commend the exceptional service at the Perisher Valley Visitor Information Centre. Elise was incredibly helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable — she went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. Her assistance made a real difference to our trip. Thank you, Elise!
Perisher is fantastic for all ages and groups, but especially wonderful for families with young children and toddlers. There are plenty of safe areas where you can pull over and let the kids enjoy the snow, build snowmen, and play without being near the crowds. It made the whole experience stress-free and so much fun. A perfect family snow holiday!
Absolutely an amazing place. I am from Canada and was so happy to see white snow and beautiful blue sky on top of a snowy mountain 🏔️ in Australia. Wonderful experience and want to go back. Be prepared for warm spring like skiing and snowboarding with icy bits in morning and evening and heavy snow in mid day heat. Love every minute of it!!!
Perisher has it's PROS and CONS. My trip was medium, but EXPENSIVE, so if your unprepared to hand over your wallet. DO NOT COME. CONS : The food is ridiculously OVERPRICED, The parking SECTION is HELLFIRE if you arrive 5 or more mins late. Rough and hard track if your lifting skis. Bathrooms are well-maintained, but fewer stalls, leads to a HUGE QUEUE. Dining tables, are pre-occupied, due to the crowd. PROS : Staff members are very exclusive and friendly, especially the lifts. Plenty of stores to purchase from. Hotel is located next to ski resort, but arguably expensive due to location. OVERALL : Amazing experience, considering the climate and season was snowy, and longer lasting this year. Just wouldn't give a 5 star remembering how costly this trip was. Spent over 5000.
The worst skiing experience. They had many unfair contract terms and would not refund their customers under many circumstances such as not being able to get a parking or closures of chairlifts due to adverse weather (they will keep their t-bars running to make sure they're still in operation). Some of the chairlifts around the green slopes do not slow down before people get off and it's very dangerous coz people keep falling down and block the path. I've seen a few preventable injuries due to this ill operation and talked to the staff about it but it seems like the management refused to spend extra effort to deal with it. It seems to be the users fault at this resort all the time.
My experience at Perisher was unfortunately the worst I’ve had at any ski resort. I had pre booked my snow gear (board and boots) online, yet I still had to wait in the same queue as everyone else, with no dedicated line for online bookings and an insufficient number of staff at the pick up counters. This completely defeats the purpose of booking ahead and reflects poor service management. Additionally, I’ve never been to a ski resort where the lifts have no leg rests. This felt unsafe for both children and adults, especially as the safety bars kept lifting unexpectedly. Having to carry the snowboard attached to my foot caused significant knee pain, which lasted for days.
Visited Perisher valley, Smiggin Holes.. Which is a ski resort before Perisher. It's best for beginners as it has a few tracks which are not steep and then more for intermediate and more challenging ones as well. Will be back here soon. Snow was great and they were allowing tobogganing on the far right on an empty hill with lots of snow.
We do the skiing once a year during the last 9 years, never experienced the full capacity (due to the parking). When we arrived at 12pm on Saturday, we got advised by the police that it was full. We heard the situation is based on one car out followed by one car in. I can see many cars were leaving Perisher Valley Resort, but no car was allowed to go in. I was so frustrated with the situation as I have already bought the lift tickets for the whole family. We went to the restaurant near the checkpoint for lunch and resting. At around 2pm, suddenly it was allowed to go in. We were lucky to be in the first group to drive in. When we arrived at the Perisher Valley Ski Resort, it was so easy to find parking, inside the rest area where people eat and rest, it was less busy as well. I struggle to appreciate the reasoning of denying the access for a few hours. Totally unnecessary. In the past the ski resort was much busier, never denying people for access. I tried to email Perisher Ski Resort to check if it was possible to transfer the lift pass from day time to evening time, unfortunately no response. On Sunday, we deliberately got there early just in case of denied access due to the full capacity. Luckily I didn't see the police checkpoint. When arrived at Perisher Ski Resort, it was very difficult to find parking. It took me over 35 minutes. Overall I did enjoy the beautiful moments on the snow, but not a good experience in terms of denied access on Saturday.

The greatest staff i’ve ever experienced at a ski resort. The staff working the lifts were helping us with our skis, the alpine coaster staff were fun and exciting, seemed like they really enjoy their job. They were helping us to take photos of our family, and made us feel like valuable guests. on the food side of things, the local pub and bistro has a spectacular selection of beer and food (they even have pokies if you’re keen for a slap) and the views from the deck are marvelous. the avalanche Cafe is another great option if you are looking from anything from a meat pie or a coffee, to a caramel slice or some lollies. the staff there is also very great, in particular Nico. All in all, Thredbo is a great option for a weekend family trip.
The alpine coaster is the only attraction that feels somewhat worth the money. Unfortunately, tobogganing isn’t allowed, which would’ve been a great family activity. If you’re looking for a better experience, head to Perisher Valley instead — there’s more snow, and you can enjoy snowboarding, skiing, tobogganing, and quality time with the whole family.
It was still snowing when I visited in October, which made the trip even more special. The town has a local, homey feel with plenty of restaurants and a cosy pub, and the quieter atmosphere was perfect. Snowboarding was so much fun, and Riccardo, the instructor, was great and really easy to get along with. The free shuttle bus runs regularly to take you around town, and when we left late one evening, a driver kindly radioed another shuttle on our route to pick us up. The staff were super friendly and the service was excellent.
We stayed for 2 days We went up the mountain on the Suger gums chair lift. It was bitting cold due to the wind. Our accommodation was good. We had dinner in the pub. Everyone was helpful and friendly. Totally recommend a stay. It was very quiet when we were there as it was between winter and summer seasons.
Worst experience I ever had in this resort. During peak season timings they expect us to be before 8am in mornings to have best possible coverage for 12-3pm pass session. If you really want us to be early, make sure to “REMOVE” passes saying 12pm-3pm on website, and also never release tickets and overbook.
Congratulations to the Thredbo team for the amazing service. A big thank you to the gondola staff who kindly helped me search for my snowboard today 31/08, and especially to Bratt, who came with his skis and managed to find/rescue it. Outstanding service and such a helpful team, you truly made my day!
Thredbo Alpine Village offered a fantastic snowy adventure for my toddler, who loved playing in the snow and riding the gondola. While the tobogganing was not allowed, the overall family-friendly atmosphere and variety of activities made it a memorable short getaway.
Went to Friday Flat which is a ski resort just before Thredbo main resort and offers some good beginner terrain.. My kid took ski lessons there by really friendly instructors and kept a watch out for him falling over and gave him extra instructions and support. As a result my kid learnt how to ski in just 1 lesson.. pretty happy! Snow was great but very crowded!

Love this place with beautiful views over the valley and mountains, including the Mt. Kosciuszko. Unfortunately we couldn’t hike to the summit as we were on our motorbike trip and riding gear is not practical for hiking. Nevertheless we enjoyed awesome views and weather.
Charlotte Pass is a hidden gem in the Snowy Mountains! Even during peak season, it’s peaceful, car-free, and uncrowded—perfect for a relaxing getaway. The views are absolutely stunning, and the ski runs are ideal for families or anyone wanting a break from the busy resorts. Whether it’s skiing in winter or hiking in summer, the natural beauty here is unmatched. Loved the alpine charm, friendly staff, and easy access via Skitube. Highly recommend for a quiet and scenic mountain escape!
Didn’t imagine Charlotte Pass would be so beautiful in October. We absolutely enjoyed our trekking there. View from the lookout is absolutely gorgeous. Much better than ski season.
Late October Road access no chains needed. Cloud was low, which reduced the view. Parking and toilets. Well posted tracks Suggest being well prepared in the variable weather conditions
Multiple walks and close to the ski resort. You can access the Main Range walk to Mt Kosciuszko from here and it saves you the chairlift fee from Thredbo. Parking is not easy though so be prepared to get there super early and/or have to walk 500m or more from parking to Pass.
The main range track and the broadwalk tracks are amazing! I came by in autumn and stopped short of the river (due to my embarrassing level of fitness) but it was a good hike nonetheless. Great views of the cistas, its cool and calm and I was lucky to go on a sunny day.
This place is absolutely awesome and amazing. Blessed to see this incredible place. When you explore this in a right time you will feel like heaven on the earth. Absolutely unbelievable views
Spectacular! 1835 meters above the sea level. Excellent place for hiking or picnic in summer. Cool to cold weather during February. Well managed tracks with signage. Close to the Charlotte Pass village.

What an awesome day today 17 July 2023 was at the Rhythm Snowsports, Australia Demo Day. A very professional setup from all of the major Ski and Snowboard brands with all the new models available to test. While I was testing skis it was obvious how much of a success this event was by the number people I saw trying all variety of skis and snowboards having a great time. Thanks to all the Rhythm staff and Ski vendors but especially KayD from Rhythm Snow Sports for all of the work and effort that you put into this great event. I can’t wait until the next one, next year. Thanks again.
Found the staff to be rude and unhelpful. Waited 40 minutes for a board repair the day after we picked it up, then had to go back again to have the bindings fit correctly because that wasn’t done correctly at the time of repair. Wouldn’t recommend as it wasn’t a pleasant or easy experience.
The workshop guys in this shop are fantastic and really know their craft. After another shop botched adjusting my skis to my new boots to the point that they were unusable, these guys did some MacGyvering and had me on the snow in 5 minutes.
brother delivered my Apple Watch—left in a pocket—all the way back to Sydney within 5 days. This is a true place of legends
Absolutely Fantastic, helped out after no Ski gear at Perisher, would use Smiggins first up now. Really helpful staff.
Great store, with everything you need for a day on the mountain. Staff are very knowledgeable and friendly.
What a team today, hey? The worst one was the “lady”, she had no customer service skills
Friendly, knowledge, and helpful staff. The go to place for my trips to the snowy mountains.

Nev and his super friendly caring team run a great operation with beautiful well looked after and cared for horses. Had a nice 2 hour ride through the property on Vortex. She looked after all 95kg off me well. 😄. Highly recommend. Thanks guys.
So glad we did this! These guys are amazing, love their horses and enjoy sharing it with people. The area and scenery were beautiful. I rode on Bones, who was a gentle brown brumby. The guides were so knowledgeable about the area and horses. Cannot recommend this enough.
What a wonderful experience! Booked this as a New Year’s Eve (day time) treat for the family. The guides were amazing with the kids and you can tell they genuinely love what they do and take amazing care of the Horses. Would highly recommend
Thanks TVHR! We were well looked after on a 2 hour ride up the mountain. Nev had a multitude of local knowledge pointing out landmarks and made sure we were safe and enjoying our ride. Nev and Freyja's love and care for the horses shone through and they were keen to share this with us. We rode Xena and Indy, both amazing steeds. We would love to come back to do the river ride one day.
We had a fantastic experience riding the well-behaved horses. The ride was not only enjoyable but also exceptionally well organized. The staff who manage the activities clearly have a deep love for their horses and treat them with great care and respect. This commitment to the animals made our experience even more enjoyable.
Thank you to the TVHR team for an unforgettable morning exploring the stunning snowy mountains on the beautiful brumby “Gunner”. To Nev and Issie, thanks for a wonderful ride, ticked all the boxes. I absolutely loved it and I look forward to visiting again! I highly recommend TVHR team!
What a DREAM COME TRUE!!!!!!! Honestly the best day EVER! Linda was super easy to communicate with, very lovely lady! Linda, Nev & Freir were outstanding, all their knowledge, support and kindness could not have been faulted. They have put in so much hard work to ensure the rides are safe, fun and super enjoyable. The horses had an amazing connection with their owners and you can see how well they are looked after. Along the ride, we were provided with abit of history of the area as well as some interesting information about the horses that were selected for us. The horses were fantastic, so kind, humorous and just beautiful souled. We enjoyed every second of it and will be back again! Truly the best day ever!!!!!! <3
What a wonderful experience! The staff were so friendly and helpful with clear instructions. The horses were so beautifully natured. The guides took our group off the beaten track, and with such gorgeous surrounding countryside, it is hard not to fall in love. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Great spot for the kids to learn. Great ski school staff and setup. They really helped us out. Nice vibe. Kids stoked. Gentle slops, really accommodating. We arrived while it was snowing which was a treat. Light breeze and decent snow cover. Might “work from home” tomorrow.
If you are looking for your first ski experience, you can't go past Perisher Resort and Smiggins, the facilities are wicked, the instructors first class. Book yourself some lessons, you won't regret it, nice mix of slopes as you progress, just try and ignore the 3 year olds as they ski past you effortlessly, also check out the night skiing and fireworks if you are there on the right night. It's hard to find a holiday that ticks all the boxes as we have teenage kids and this smashed it out of the park, I've never seen our kids so tired but smiling from ear to ear !! Stayed at The Station, great value for money. Eat at The Man from Snowy River, great food and relaxed atmosphere. As we know we will go back, next time we will stay on the mountain as means we can just be there with no travel to think about.
This is place the best destination for families, newbies and intermediate skiers, The same location so it's easy to keep track of your group great facilities and food options is here. You can using quick bus ride to Perisher if you're up for something more challenging. Small place but we can try every thing we need. we will come back here! We have a new discovery for my children!
Extremely poor experience for beginners – Smiggin Holes Ski School should not advertise beginner lessons if they don’t support first-timers. I booked a beginner group lesson at Smiggin Holes (Perisher), which included a mandatory lift pass. I received no instruction, no help, and the instructor didn’t take us to the lift. As a first-time skier, I was completely lost and left alone. When I asked staff why we weren’t taken to the lift, they told me it was because I didn’t ask. That response is completely unacceptable — how is a beginner supposed to know what to ask for? I couldn’t use the lift pass, didn’t receive a lesson, and was denied a refund. I didn’t even get a receipt, and all complaints were handled verbally with no accountability. Staff said they weren’t responsible for the instructor — shocking. This felt like a scam. I paid a lot of money for nothing. If you’re a beginner, do NOT go to Smiggin Holes Ski School. They are absolutely not prepared to support first-timers.
Surprising good runs and facilities. Smiggins doesn’t have the big ticket black runs of Perisher but it does have a far more relaxed atmosphere! The runs are green and blue more suited to beginner and intermediate skiers, but in truth, my wife and I enjoyed being here today more than the hustle and bustle of Perisher. Lines for lifts and t-bars are short, runs aren’t huge but your never too fussed as you can just use the lifts etc to get back up the mountain in minutes! Somewhere I would definitely bring the kids. And if you get bored it’s two t-bars and a run back to Perisher!!!
Great place for beginners and gentle slopes for skiing 🎿
the woman that was working at Snowear at smiggins on the morning of 26th July 2025, was very rude. I put my a bag of my belongings on top of the store’s basket cause my paper bag ripped into pieces, I couldn’t hold the items together so I asked her if I could have a plastic bag, she said no cause apparently I have to buy one of her items first which is fine, but does she have to grab my stuff & throw it onto the floor?
Wonderful view, good to learn on how to ski and snowboard, friendly staff and private lessons , bring lots of money for lift, food etc…

Absolutely amazing experience with Sandra. She really helped my body release some long held tension. She checked with me before going in strong and together we went deep. Super fantastic massage, and easy recovery. I expected to be sore but nothing!! Highly recommend!
Very bad! Stay away. And if you leave a negative review, they will try to discredit you by suggesting questionable motives
I left floating on air and completely blissed out after a 2 hour facial and massage with Sandra. This truly was once of the best treatments I've ever had and would come back in a heartbeat. Sandra is so lovely, and professional and her space is ultra clean and inviting. Don't hesitate to book if you're in the area :) Thank you Sandra!
Sandra is an expert at her craft - this was the best massage I’ve ever had :) I also loved the feel of the place and the little extra touches that made me feel so comfortable and relaxed. I can’t wait to come back!
I had booked a massage at Edelweiss and the day of, I fell sick. I called to advise her and to cancel the appointment, and all Sandra could do was lament about how her days scheduling had been thrown off by my cancellation. I just felt this was rude and unnecessary - I could easily have come and said nothing, but obviously this wasn’t the right thing to do as I do not want to pass it on to others. I did not ask to get sick, I called to advise her of the cancellation rather than just not show up, and Sandra still charges a cancellation fee (understandably) for the opportunity cost, so a little bit of understanding would have gone a long way.
Sandra was great! Her hands are magic. A great experience of massage, facial and exfoliation. Nice space and highly recommended if you want a cloud 9 experience. Feel on top of the world, thank you!
Went for the "Serenity now" package and it was absolutely lovely. Really what I needed after a stressful couple of days road trip. Sandra my beauty therapist was a delight. Friendly and chatty but knew when to keep the peace for the sake of relaxation. Would highly recommend.
One of the best massages I have ever had. Must visit for anyone in town. Sandra is simply amazing, so friendly & talented. I ll be back, thank you.

If you're looking for a more accessible way to see amazing views than a 3 hour hike, this is perfect. With easy 20min parking at the top and a short walk (with brief steep stair climb) at the end, the views are incredible. Our party included a woman in her 60's with some mobility issues and she managed the stairs in a few minutes, to give an idea.
It was wonderful and obviously a very easy reach from Charlotte Pass. When we visited the sky was overcast so excellent for photography. The only challenge was the wind had picked up to almost gale force so we had to made sure our cameras and mobile phones were being held tight to prevent it being blown away.
Very short easy boardwalk with amazing views 😍 lots of other walking tracks also start from there! worth the drive up there!
Quick little board walk to a nice view of the snowy mountains
Excellent walk on a lovely path. Quite short though. Public toilets nearby. Parking was an issue though.
Wow! We drove up from Cooma and went to visit Thredbo first and the 1st thing we noticed was that the higher we came, the closer we came to the clouds. We had no trouble getting entry tickets as it was autumn and the snow season hadn't begun. The tickets were also valid for Perisher Valley and Charlotte Pass. We didn't stop at Perisher, just headed straight up to Charlotte Pass. And, was it freezing up there! Temps were around 4 degrees C, but with the wind and drizzle which felt like ice, it was more like minus 8 degrees. With no gloves, I couldn't stay outside more than 10 minutes. A shame that we had no panoramic views but at least we captured some pics of the snow gums.
A must visit place for any trip to the Australian Alps
A well made boardwalk that comes from the car park up to the main Ridge lookout. It is flat going until some steps to get up to the lookout. Passes by some twisted and contorted snow gum trees

Shout out to Sarah for giving us the perfect no fuss experience. Totally underestimated this only just off season experience. It was exactly what we were after! 👍❤
Order steak med rare, maybe the worse steak I've had out, The steak was pale looking and cold. It was like I was cooking low heat. The whole meal was bad, the chef has no idea. Way too much money for a bad meal,
Watched the state of origin here, understaffed , good atmosphere. But the carpet was shocking- so sticky, I couldn’t even move my stool as it was stuck . Gross
I've been to the Schuss alot over the years but the Gay Ski vibe and atmosphere was the best I've ever seen in Thredbo. Well done all involved.
Felt like something out of the film "hot tub time machine"... even the clear coat from the alloy door frames was worn off from decades of use.
Appalling service. Obnoxious management. Been coming for years but won’t ever be back.
