Moorea was the last one of three ports we visited in French Polynesia, the other two being Raiatea and Tahiti. For us, Moorea was the most beautiful. Crystal clear waters and lots to see. We didn't bother booking any excursions from the ship, preferring instead to do our own thing. We caught a taxi to the Belvedere viewpoint (USD $50 return) and then a boat trip to a small island, via a sandbank, where there were sting rays and sharks (USD $100 for two) - much cheaper than ship excursion rates and both booked from the sellers on the docks. The water was warm and beautiful. We just had a most wonderful day.....
Moorea, nestled in French Polynesia's embrace, captivates with its ethereal beauty. From the moment you set foot on its shores, you're enveloped in a tapestry of vibrant colors and enchanting scents. The island's lush, emerald-green peaks rise majestically against the azure sky, creating a mesmerizing backdrop for every adventure. Exploring Moorea is a journey of discovery, where every corner reveals a new wonder. Snorkelers and divers are drawn to its crystalline waters, teeming with marine life and coral gardens of unparalleled beauty. Landlubbers can hike through verdant valleys, where waterfalls cascade into secluded pools, offering moments of tranquil serenity. The island's rich Polynesian culture adds depth to every experience. Local villages welcome visitors with open arms, inviting them to partake in traditional dances, feasts, and crafts. Each encounter is a window into Moorea's soul, where warmth and hospitality reign supreme. Accommodations on Moorea range from luxurious overwater bungalows to cozy beachfront villas, ensuring every traveler finds their perfect oasis. Indulge in sumptuous cuisine infused with exotic flavors, crafted from the freshest local ingredients. In conclusion, Moorea is a paradise like no other, where nature's magnificence meets Polynesian charm. Whether seeking adventure or relaxation, this island gem offers an unforgettable escape into blissful paradise.
Aft 3 Polynesian Islands that we visited in 3 days, this was by far our favorite. It was not overly commercialized, nor overly primitive, and had some of the most spectacular water we've ever seen anywhere in the world. We took an island tour around the circumference, and it was a great way to see it all.
Must see island. I recommend renting a car and driving around the island.
Loved the day we spent here! Truly an amazing tropical paradise that is a must visit! We did the whole island tour excursion from our cruise ship and honestly, it is probably the vest way to see the whole island. This was truly one of the best islands to visit in French Polynesia!
A cruise ship tender port. The island appears picturesque and exotic - as I would expect Tahiti to be. We tendered to the wharf and from there, disappointment. We walked for miles and did not see anything warranting the effort. Very unfortunate when there is nothing of interest close by. Did not see a beach. Nothing.
A fantastic day in Moorea I had an amazing experience touring Moorea with a 4WD tour that took me to some of the most beautiful and interesting places on the island. The tour started with a visit to a pineapple farm, where I learned about the different varieties of pineapples and how they are grown and harvested. The farm also had a stunning view of the Opunohu Bay and the mountains. Next, we went to a distillery that produces liqueurs and jams from local fruits. I tasted some of the products and bought some souvenirs to take home. The distillery also had a nice garden with tropical flowers and plants. The tour continued with a drive up to the Magic Mountain, a lookout point that offers a panoramic view of the island and the lagoon. It was breathtaking to see the turquoise water and the coral reefs from above. The guide explained some of the history and culture of Moorea and pointed out some landmarks. Then, we went down to the Belvedere Lookout, another scenic spot that overlooks the Cook’s Bay and the Rotui Mountain. There, we saw some ancient marae (Polynesian temples) that are part of the cultural heritage of Moorea. The last stop of the tour was at Faie, a village where we saw and fed the sacred blue-eyed eels that live in the river. The eels are considered to be guardians of the village and are very friendly to visitors. They came out of the water to eat pieces of fish that we gave them. It was a unique and fun experience to interact with these creatures. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to see more than just the beaches of Moorea. It was a great way to discover the natural beauty, the cultural diversity, and the local flavors of this island paradise.
Island can get to from other island. Be prepared to rent a scooter or a bike as you cannot do much from the port. We didn't get bikes or rent a scooter so we walked a mile to this amazing little lagoon and spent the an hour and went back. Very nice.

Very friendly. Very particular. Very knowledgeable. Working with pearls for 30years. She makes all of the pieces. She we will tell you when a pearl doesn't speak to you and will find one that does. She graduated at the GIA
For a visitor who barely understands pearls and wants to know more about the quality of what you are buying, this is a very good shop. The owner is helpful and clearly cares about her product.
Eva is a true professional artist and craftsman of the pearls. Very knowledgeable and friendly.
Outstanding experience. Very knowledgeable about her product and very pleasant to deal with.

The shop has great options. Walked in just to look and walked out with a pearl necklace and earrings! Veronica was a delight to work with on our purchases.
I wasn’t planning to get any pearls in Tahiti but this little shop at Manava is run by lovely people with excellent pearls at really reasonable prices. They helped with all the paperwork and I ended up with a gorgeous pendant for my anniversary gift from my husband that I now wear every day! Thank you!
We bought two beautiful pearl necklaces as gifts at a good price. The saleswoman was helpful, knowledgeable, and not pushy at all even the country was just re-opening and I'm sure their business was greatly impacted. After we returned we found out that we needed a third necklace. We corresponded with Thierry, the owner, and he promptly made another necklace (since we had pictures of what we had purchased). An outstanding experience. Highly recommended.
My boyfriend and I stayed at Manava Beach Resort where this nice shop is located after spending 2 weeks on the Aranui cruise. "Have a nice pearl" offers a wide selection of pearls and jewelry. It is really hard to decide because every piece is so beautyful. I fell in love with a Galathea pearl necklace and earrings which I took home with me. This jewelry will always remind me of the great time we had in Polynesia. Thank you very much!
I really wasn't planning to buy pearls at a resort store and I wasn't even staying at the Manava (though maybe we will in the future it looked beautiful) but my husband and I visited a ton of pearl stores and had a lot of data points for comparison. We were looking for gifts so weren't looking for the most expensive pieces. We found Have a Nice Pearl on Tripadvisor and stopped in. First, they have a great selection from very high end to more budget. Second, even though I was looking at more modest stud earrings, Veronica couldn't have been more helpful or patient. She walked me through all the options and we looked at earrings in all the lighting. I decided on a pair and purchased it. While driving home, I pulled out the earrings and was so happy (jumping up and down) with how they looked and the size and price that I quite literally asked my husband to turn around and I bought another pair here. Would highly recommend you stop here on your journey for pearls!
Shop was very clean. Staff was always friendly. Great selection of pearls at decent prices. Also has a good selection of other knick knacks and necessities... came in handy when my Oakleys took a dive in the bay and I needed a quick pair of sunglasses.
Great pearls. No pressure like some of the other stores on the island. Good settings selection and price. Would recommend.
No pressure at all got Discount Beautiful clean nice French Guy my husband bought me one of a kind he makes himself Beautiful Thankyou

Took my husband here to surprise him for our wedding anniversary, and we were not disappointed! Communicating and organizing things beforehand was so smooth- the staff were very fast to respond every time, very kind, and patient even when I was asking dumb questions lol. Regarding the tour itself, it was a beautiful route! Amazing views, and all of the stops were at great locations, plus it was so interesting to go in the valley and learn more about Moorea, as opposed to just staying around the outside of Moorea. Our tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable, we had an awesome time! Definitely worth it 💯
Amazing experience! We had the best time since we got to their location. Super friendly, welcoming and helpful staff. Fluent in English they do tour in English. We went to several locations and everything was OUTSTANDING. Highly recommend this tour. Excellent views and tour guide. We learn a lot about the mountains, farming and local things. Free parking on site.
Everything about this trip was amazing. From the booking through to being picked up, we knew it was going to be good. The guides were so friendly and genuinely interested in chatting to us, about our work and life in NZ, sharing similarities and experiences. The people are what take an experience to the next level and this did not disappoint. Not to mention that the tour, scenery and whole trip was fun, interesting and definitely worth doing with these guys. Top notch!
This was a fantastic tour! Probably the best way to see the interior of Moorea! We went up Magic mountain and the Belvédère lookout, saw fresh water eels, many other interesting things! Our guide was very knowledgeable about the area. Such a fun way to see the island! Highly recommend!
Amazing tour! We booked last minute as we were looking to fill some extra time and it ended up being one of our favorite things we did on the island! Great pace, interesting information, super fun stops, and good ATVing! The eels were a personal favorite!! Loved the entire tour!! Highly recommend.
They let kids come!! We brought our 3 year old and she LOVED it. Tons of fun. Tapu was an amazing guide and really helped it be a great experience for our daughter. ATVs seemed to be basically brand new, scheduling was easy and flexible as we had a whale tour that wasn’t going to finish in time so they moved the tour back for us a little bit that day.
We had so much fun on this tour and learned a lot about the island! Went up to Belvedere for views of both bays, saw the different fruits being farmed at the agricultural school, pineapple fields, a little jam and fruit sampling break, and up magical mountain for a final amazing view.
We had so much fun on this excursion! Our guide, Tapu, was warm and welcoming and made the journey around his island a beautiful adventure. Pickup and drop-off was a breeze a d safety was a priority. Highly recommend.

The sea scooter snorkeling was incredible! My son had never snorkeled before, and guide Nicholas made him feel so safe & secure - he had a blast. There was so much sea life to see, including an enormous ray that came to check us out. Truly one of the most memorable experiences of our whole trip to the islands.
The sea scooter snorkeling adventure from Moorea Water Games which is located at the Sofitel Kia Moorea was a superb experience. Our snorkeling guide and the boat captain were both amazing and the whole experience was so well coordinated. We saw many beautiful coral, fish and manta rays in 3 different places. The equipment was provided but you can use your own if you want. This is a must do treat I would highly recommend. Moorea Water Games Sea Scooter Adventure!!! It’s a 10!!!!
The scootering is fun, but what I don’t appreciate is that they bait the fish and rays in the reefs with bread. In our experience in Mo’orea you absolutely do not need to feed the fish to see a bunch of beautiful creatures. It was just so irresponsible considering how delicate the fishes little bodies are, they’re not built to process things like that. I felt bad. This video is from the guide, himselves go pro. Very irresponsible tourism 😔 Please if you choose to use this tourism company I strongly recommend you keep an eye out for it and speak up if they continue to harm the very wildlife that are supporting their livelihood.
We had the best time! We did the sea scooter and it was our favorite activity on the island. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. They go above and beyond. A sting ray swam with us most of the time at one of our stops. Very cool.
Snorkeling with Moorea Water Games was the highlight of our trip! Our guides, Manu and colleague (wish I could remember his name!) were great guides. Equipment - masks, snorkels and wetsuits were all excellent. And we saw lots of beautiful fish!
Incredible snorkeling tour!!! The sea scooters are so fun and we saw a TON of incredible fish. We saw a giant turtle, 2 stingrays, 2 sharks, and so many gorgeous fish. The boat driver and guide were super nice and knowledgeable. Highly recommend!!
Best tour, water scooters are both super fun and actually allow you to follow the sea life. Very well organized, everything is provided - equipment, wet suits and even towels. Guides Teri and Nico were very nice and generous. Highly recommend. Thank you!
My husband and I did the 4 hour snorkel tour in which they took us to 3 different locations, from nearby Sofitel (which has spectacular corals and fishes) down to the southern tip of Moorea. I cannot stress enough how totally AWESOME this tour is, it was my absolute favorite day in Moorea! Not to be missed! We swam with very friendly rays (they’re like puppy dogs that love to be pet), exotic neon colored fishes of all types, black tipped sharks (don’t worry they won’t bite!), and we were even lucky enough to see several turtles, as well as dolphins along the way. The guys operating the tour are great people, they’re professional, experienced, knowledgeable, and have a great sense of humor. You will enjoy the full face snorkel mask as it never leaks and you don’t have to keep readjusting and de-fogging it. You can just enjoy. Also, they provide a handheld motor with different speeds so you can really scoot in and around the corals without having to kick your legs. Loved this tour....do it!

Spirou was the most amazing guide and clearly has a passion for Moorea. We instantly were made to feel like friends. She’s extremely knowledgeable and there is no pressure about time or shopping. She’s there to provide YOU with a fabulous day. One of the best tour guides we’ve ever had. It’s a beautiful island and she’s a lovely lady.
Spirou, (The Lady in Blue), showed us her incredible island of Moorea 😍. Honestly you will not find a better person to show you around. We drove and she guided. She told us so much about the history, the plants and so much more. It actually felt like we were exploring the island with a friend, but a friend who knew everything and all the best spots. If you are looking for the best guide on the island, book Spirou/the lady in blue! You will not regret it. And thank you for such a wonderful day. You made it so special for my mum and dad also xx
Excellent personal tours at a reasonable price. Lady in blue speaks several languages very well. Took us to several areas in the island, explaining history, folklore, etc and took several pictures of us at the various sites. If you happen to come out from a Bay (through a boat/cruise liner) she'll be at the front of the port waiting, so very convenient to book.
Spirou is great fun and we had a very nice tour with her. She's very flexible about changes and good about communicating. And prompt.
On Moorea, Hilton did not pick us up at the ferry terminal as promised. We were stranded. By chance we ran into Ladyinblue and she went above and beyond to help strangers. A very kind person. Thank you and may God bless you!
If you want a spectacular private tour with a studied guide this is it. We booked this tour on short notice and found her to be ultra accommodating. She picked us up at our resort on time and the tour began immediately. It was quite obvious she is connected to the community by the ease at which she got us into local attractions and we seemed to slide right up front. Additionally she got us to the good places to shop for what we wanted. We parted ways to eat dinner and she offered to pick us up after and return us to our resort if our arrangements didn’t work. You will not be disappointed here. A value added tour to say the least!
We spent 3 hours with Lady In Blue, Spirou, last month touring Moorea off our Windstar cruise ship. Spirou was great showing us the highlights and explaining history and current life on the island. I highly recommend her services
We had a wonderful experience with the Ladyinblue Moorea Tours.!! She was very knowledgable reasonably priced and a delight to spend some time with. I would recommend her to anyone visiting Moorea.

This was the most beautiful experience. It is a small family owned company that treated us with care and a genuine desire to ensure we had an amazing time. Their boat captained expertly by Autoa was near new and beautiful. They took us to a lagoon where Hereiti personally guided us while we holding onto a floating tether. She made sure we saw multiple turtles even diving with my camera to make sure we got some fantastic underwater shots. She was so patient with my wife when we swam with the ray’s and sharks, making sure she felt safe. I’d give them 6 stars if I could.
We booked a private half day whale watching tour with Hereiti and Autoa and had an absolutely magical and otherworldly experience. Both of them are extremely kind and welcoming as well as extremely knowledgeable. During the whale tour, Hereiti accompanied us in the water and made us feel extremely comfortable and safe the whole time. It seemed as if she knew what the whales were going to do before they did it, having us in the perfect viewing position every time they came close to the surface. After we got out of the water they had juice, snacks, and Hinano for us. Not only that, but all of this was offered at a reasonable price and was more fairly priced than many of the other touring companies. Through the booking process Hereiti was very communicative and provided all the necessary details promptly. Overall, this was truly a once in a lifetime experience.
We rented the small boat... Was exactly as advertised - a little boat to get around and snorkel and drop in on a few beaches. It's not fast or fancy, but it did the job! Hereiti and her husband were SUPER helpful and friendly -- the weather was bad on the day we booked and they were able to accommodate a rebooking for us. I hadn't used a small enginen boat in many years, but her husband showed me the ropes and we did a little test run out into the bay first. Engine we easy to start and very reliable, and the bit of shade on the boat helped keep us out of the sun. We snorkeled off of the boat and also made it to Coco Beach where we anchored and had a bite-and-brew in a perfect idyllic location. Thanks Hereiti!
This was the highlight of our time in Moorea! The husband-and-wife team made the whole experience so special — Autoa is a skilled and welcoming captain, and Hereiti knows the lagoon like the back of her hand, sharing its beauty and secrets with such passion. Swimming with rays and turtles in the crystal-clear water was absolutely magical. We couldn’t recommend this adventure more highly!
Excellent. We have traveled many places and have done many excursions. This was definitely one of the best. Not just because of the location, but because of Hereiti and Autoa. They were friendly and professional. Assisted us with some special requests and needs. The snorkeling was spectacular, and the lunch was amazing. I can't say enough good things about them. We felt like we made new friends. We arrived in Moorea as part of a transpacific cruise. We are thinking about returning for an extended stay to Moorea because of our experience with Hereiti & Autoa.
We rented a little boat, it wasn't fast but was the best way to see Stingray City and Snorkeling Motu Island. We had small kids onboard so the flexibility of our own rental boat was important. The crew at Manahere gave us a detailed step by step guide to safely navigate the reefs to and from the snorkel destinations. It was a blast! I highly recommend it.
We booked the private half day lagoon tour with snorkeling and had such an amazing time on the trip with Hereiti & her husband (operators of this company). They really made us both feel like old friends and we had amazing experiences swimming with turtles, eagle rays and sharks. Their boat, equipment and just general vibes were top notch and lol this is a legit review, from someone who rarely gives reviews. Thanks for the great day out.
We booked both a private whale tour and a private lagoon snorkel (2 separate days) with Hereiti and Autoa, and it was truly the highlight of our trip to French Polynesia. Seeing the island through Hereiti’s eyes was such a special experience - her deep respect for the ocean and its wildlife was inspiring, and she made us feel like welcomed visitors rather than just tourists. We were able to swim among vibrant coral, rays, sharks, and humpback whales - an unforgettable experience! Hereiti’s caring touch shone through in every detail, from sharing delicious local fruits and drinks to making sure we felt safe and comfortable at all times. The boat was clean, spacious, and perfect for a private excursion. We are so grateful to have explored the island with Hereiti and Autoa. Highly recommend Manahere Adventures to anyone looking for a truly meaningful and memorable ocean experience!

So happy we stopped in. Armelle was so kind and helpful. She and her husband are hand painting all their treasures.
