What a spectacular statue for an Australian horse racing icon. The lake behind makes for a beautiful backdrop & there are great cafes around there as well.
The statue is mounted on a dark, polished plinth that bears the name "BLACK CAVIAR" in elegant lettering. The base is surrounded by vibrant greenery and pink flowers, adding a touch of natural beauty to the memorial. The clear blue sky in the background provides a lovely contrast to the dark tones of the statue, making it stand out prominently. The lighting suggests it might be late afternoon or early morning, casting soft shadows that enhance the three-dimensional form of the sculpture.
An impressive town, so beautifully maintained, so clean, great lawns and walkways around the outstanding lake view. A few great cafes and restaurants, accommodation options and a cracking looking playground and water park.
Statue sitting on the banks of Lake Nagambie in the main street. The horse was such an icon for both racing and non racing fraternity. Lovely town also.
The view of the lake is so good! Very nice cafes and pubs just down the rd.
Pretty little town by Lake Nagambie. Interesting racing history. Pleasant lake views from the statue.
A nice statue of this legendary racing horse in the area where she was breed and raised.
A nice statue with a great backdrop of the Nagambie Lake. It's a pleasant addition to the quaint town of Nagambie, and worth a photo and a read if you're in town. Statue is not difficult to miss and there is plenty of parking in the side road in front of the statue. A pleasant stop-off with walks to the nearby lake - worth a visit for sure.

lovely place and we enjoyed a good dip in cold water and enjoyed a good meal
Bad timing for a visit to the lake next to the main street, due to renovations on the boardwalk. Love the bronze of Black Caviar, and the township is a great walk around.
I absolutely love this lake...so beautiful and peaceful. Now with the new addition of Wacky Park it makes it a perfect place for families to visit. Lots of fun for kids...and the adults 😉
Nice lake to stop and have beautiful view. Some boating was in water. It was splash and play was happening and it nice to see lots families with childrens was having fun.
Lovely and clean lake. Great place for picnic and to spend time. There is a Black Cavier Statue. Coincidently on the way to visit the statue we came across a cloud image of the horse which was a sign that we were heading in the right direction.
Really pretty lake with swimming and boating options. A good selection of cafes, restaurants and accommodation.
Went with my friends to watch a fishing competition a few weeks back. It was quite an experience. A quiet small town in regional victoria that grew up around a lake. Take your fishing gear and head to this town for a relaxing weekend.
Love going here just so peaceful and relaxing.. Lots of places to grab a take away coffee and go and sit by Black Caviar Statue... Several tables around it lively free n grass to sit.. Or try the Local Hotel just near park which has fantastic outdoor setting overlooking the Lake... Also the New Brew House/Cafe... great outdoor decking/dining for a quick beer and snack..or meals at the Cafe.relaxwhilst watching the world go by... Or go across to Rowing Club side and have a swim.. Watch the boats... Jet skis.. Regatta if on or even practise rowing.... Great little town to have a quick break.... Take a walk around the new path that takes you to a park for the kids (behind motel) or keep going and come to a bridge cross and see the other side of creek.. Or go for a quick dip in swimming area... Go for a fish and maybe catch A Murray Cod or Freshwater Cray...

My wife and I stayed at the Mitchelton Winery with friends for two days in one of the small cabins. What a fantastic experience. The cabins are extremely comfortable and very well equipped with all the necessities to ensure a comfortable stay. The cabins have a small deck to enjoy an afternoon drink and look out over the vineyard and surrounding hills. We dined at the Muse restaurant in front of the open fire. The atmosphere was very warm and cozy and the food was stunning. All the hotel staff were fabulous particularly Sibel in the restaurant who was charming and very efficient. The grounds of the winery are absolutely first rate. It is a sprawling winery skirted by the meandering river providing a very relaxed stay. The observation tower provides amazing views of the surrounding country side. We definitely recommend staying at Mitchelton and will definitely be back.
Although the position, scenery and atmosphere is amazing , the service and food were below expectation. Entree/starters were lovely but mains and drink service were questionable. We continuously found ourselves trying to get staff attention to request drinks, menus, dessert etc. The meals were not at a standard considering the cost and ensure you order sides with your main or you’ll simply receive the protein with nothing else. When comparing to other local wineries this rates much lower unfortunately !
Just spent two nights there this week and all I can say is wow!!!!! From the moment we got to our booking at the cellar door, we were welcomed by Lauren. Such a happy warm personality and her knowledge of wine impeccable. With an open fire, it set the scene for our fulfilling afternoon. Once closed, we went into checking into our accommodation and were greeted by a delightful glass of red, another wood fire and nothing but smiling front desk staff…. If only I knew his name, I would commend him. Tall man who I then saw everyday was just a pleasure to see each day. He was friendly, accommodating and patient☺️ The rooms, gorgeous. Everything you need, down do the tasty tea bags🤤 Kangaroos hopping across the open grass and a beautiful sunset over the river, perfection. Onto dinner and breakfast the next morning and Michelle is just the most chipper personality, it’s infectious and she’s only too happy to help. The food, staff, wine, gardens, facilities, chefs and cleaning staff, just everyone, 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 what an incredible experience. I loved everything about it and I can’t wait to get back. If you’re yet to experience Michelton Wines, don’t put it off, you’ll wonder how you never thought to come years earlier. I’ll definitely be back😍😍😍
From the moment we arrived, our stay was nothing short of exceptional, a perfect mix of comfort, fun, and genuine hospitality. A special thank you to Sancho, who truly went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. Whether it was zipping us around in the buggy with a smile or lighting the fire pit for a cozy evening, Sancho made sure we never had to lift a finger. His attention to detail and easygoing nature meant we could fully relax and enjoy every moment, knowing everything was taken care of to the highest standard. Our dining experience at The Muse was another highlight. Sam delivered outstanding service with warmth and professionalism, making the evening feel special from start to finish. The food was absolutely delicious, every dish was beautifully presented and full of flavour. We also want to acknowledge Georgia, who was both kind and incredibly helpful throughout our stay. She added an extra touch of thoughtfulness that didn’t go unnoticed. All in all, we felt genuinely looked after and left with memories we’ll cherish. Looking forward to the next stay. Cheers!
We had the absolute pleasure of photographing Zoe and Nathan’s beautiful wedding at Mitchelton Winery and it was a really lovely experience. The venue is breathtaking in every season, with both indoor and outdoor spaces that work so well for weddings. The on-site Aboriginal art gallery adds a meaningful and unique element to the location. What stood out just as much as the scenery was the incredible staff, they were so warm and welcoming — we felt more like guests than vendors, and that kind of hospitality makes all the difference. Thank you for having us, Mitchelton. We can’t wait to be back again soon! - The Berhardts x
The setting is lovely and the Riesling was plain but fine. Everything else? Disappointing. The smoky bacon pizza with onion jam was cloyingly sweet — more dessert than savoury. The sourdough crust was the only redeeming part. The mushroom and truffle arancini tasted like deep-fried mush. No truffle, no mushroom — just filler shaped into balls. Service tried to make up for it with a 20% discount, but the food and drink were not worth the premium prices. At $12 for three arancini and $28 for a pizza, the quality should have been excellent. Instead, it was laughable. I’ve had better at both cheaper and more expensive places. Will I be back? Absolutely not.
I recently had lunch at Michelton Winery with a friend and had the barramundi, gnocchi, and Shiraz. The gnocchi was a satisfying vegetarian option—though, unfortunately, the only one available. The barramundi, however, was disappointing, lacking depth in flavor. Dessert made up for it with a delicious chocolate fondant and honey cake. The restaurant’s warm atmosphere made for an enjoyable meal, but my visit to the cellar was far less pleasant. When I asked about wine tastings, the staff member seemed dismissive, telling us to wait while she checked for available tables—despite several empty ones in sight. Unlike other guests, who received detailed explanations, we were simply handed a menu with little engagement. This left me frustrated, and in the end, I only purchased the Shiraz—the one wine I had tasted at the restaurant. Overall, while the restaurant impressed with its food and ambiance, the cellar experience was disappointing.
An exceptional, must visit vineyard! Very comfortable rooms, well made facilities, beautiful dining spaces, aboriginal art, massive grounds and of course the wines. All staff are examples of classy hospitality. A true oasis that is a comfortable drive from Melbourne.

The is one of the best places in the country for skydiving. The team are lovely with Don and Louise taking the time to make sure everyone feels at home. They also run a supervan, one of the fastest ways to get to height, which means more jumps!!!
Went for amateur to awesome course last week. Trully a intense holiday week of skydiving!! Chill vibes. Nice peoples and staff. Good place for catching ups. Simple acomos. I enjoyed mostly in the evening sitting back and stargazing!!!
This place changed my life. Unbelievable. Everyone is so friendly and supportive. Great atmosphere and friends for life. Can’t wait to go back. Steve is a legend
Awesome place with really chilled out owners. Its a welcoming surprise in this ball game compared to the grumpy DZ owners usually encountered ;) Great views too!
Love jumping at Nagambie. Great facility, great people, epic vibes. Home DZ for sure! Thank you Don and Lou
Deception in booking and rude call centre lady. even if you wanna cancel the booking with more than two weeks notice, you have to pay the booking cancelation fee. Well, I won't mind if they mention this while doing the purchase and not hidden behind two links. To know that, you have to click the terms you agree on where it is not there but behind the other link to the full terms which is not clickable and have to copy paste to reach it. Come on, do you really have to do this nasty behavior to secure 100$, from a 3000$ course. Well done to demotivate someone on doing the AFF with you. PS: if you only do it on weekends, don't say on the website other appointments may be available.
What an amazing experience, had booked a tandem jump for my husbands birthday, we both were booked. Went in with no expectations, and what we walked away with was an experience of a lifetime. The awesome adrenaline rush once you step over the edge, to free fall, nothing but the wind sweeping away every fear you may have been holding 10 seconds prior. The scene of the plane you just leaped from, rising above you, and the awe inspiring scene that nature provides down below and well into the zenith, absolutely breathtaking. To the jolt of the shoot releasing, the drifting as if you were a bird gliding through the sky, a sense of freedom in such an amazing manner. The calmness of the air, and the ability to have a clear an grateful conversation with your tandem buddy. Take the leap, you will never ever experience anything else like this in your lifetime. Amazingly experienced staff, easy going and very safety conscious. Thank you Don and Splat for such an amazing memory. JA Tadic and A Tadic

Cool spot and great local history. Worth a visit
We were so disappointed that the viewing area was fenced off with a 6ft wire fence. It meant we couldn't see the water coming over the weir and into the river. I hope they fix the problem soon because everything else at the reserve is so lovely for an outing.
A lovely picnic spot. The historic weir information boards are fascinating. Well worth a visit. Pick a fine day and go have lunch in the park. There are picnic tables and kids playground equipment. The weir is well fenced so safe for the kiddies.
Took my grandson for an afternoons fishing under the shade of big gum tree, got plenty of bites. Nice quite spot, with an excellent park
Nice pic nic area, barbeques and children's playground. View over the weir with water releasing into the Goulburn river. Discovers centre no longer open..
Lots of shady trees, free barbeques, toilets. Peaceful relaxing, plenty of space.
Highly recommended and the fishing is just spectacular.
Very plain and boring we drove an hour to visit we just keep driving.

Fantastic shop. Lots to catch your eye and wallet! Wonderful shop owners, with a wealth of knowledge. 👌
Interesting little store. Antiques/paintings/ oldwares something for everyone @ this store. friendly owner no pressure to buy. No cards here cash only. Pieces constantly changing. Most items very reasonably priced. can barter for better price no harm in asking the owner Chris doesn't get offended just don't forget this is how he earns his living😊
Cool store, was tempted by the vintage phones which brought memories from my youth..
Amazing stock, no pressure, I spent 40 minutes looking bought one item and it was great value, on my way out I bought another gem. You will miss a trip down memory lane, with excellent old time quality tools and a fantastic owner
Great interesting shop full of fascinating things for sale at reasonable prices. The owner is great and easy to talk to with no obligation to buy from. The shop is a bit of a rabbit Warren but that’s half the fun. Easy parking out the front.
Such a great shop I would highly recommend visiting this place if in the area and he haggles which is always a bonus nothing is overpriced we loved it full of all sorts of collectables and heaps of other items
Extremely cute little antique store that is no-fuss but is filled with oddities and curios. They seem to specialise in antique tools and hardware
What a treasure trove of antique goodies. We spend ages inside just looking and admiring the collections of items..

Thank you so much Christine for opening your shop on 1/8 for me when you were closed. Christine was very accommodative and helpful in assisting me choose bags. My partner and mother-in-law loved their bags. You have awesome bags with amazing designs and they all are very pretty. Love your home made soaps, they have beautiful scent’s.
Lovely little store with knowledgeable owners. Secondhand goods, brand new fabrics, clothing alterations and many pouches and bags produced in house; what more could you want? Directly across the road from the lake if you need somewhere to go afterwards to examine your haul! 😉
Hi Christine, I accidentally left this reviews on your partnering shops page. The review stated, “A racist statue was being sold here. When I raised concern about this, the shop keeper told me that she isn’t racist and she would be keeping the item in the shop.” I wanted the opportunity to reach out again because this is a conversation I hope you and Chris continue to have. Please consider that when I raised concern about the merchandise you are selling, I was not telling you that you are racist and I wasn’t making any judgements about your intentions. However, if you are selling something which visually represents histories of slavery and systemic racism, then it does indicate that you either havnt learnt much about racism, or, you don’t care about the impact that racism continues to have on people everywhere. Thank you for your time and please continue having this conversation because it matters perhaps more than you know.
Thank you for your amazing video, I stumbled across it this morning when looking for a tutorial for bias binding and zips. Totally blown away by your honest approach and freely of sharing sewing information. Yes I have signed up for the links, again thank you and when down your way I will pop in and say hello. Stay safe and take care. Rosie
Went here a few months ago while I was in town for my brother's wedding. Heaps of really good deals on nifty clothes and nicknacks. I'm still gutted I didn't buy that pink bowling shirt. Was a bargain.

Great place for of all sorts of goodies pop in and have a look also smells good with the soaps and things
