This place is another hidden gem for people who enjoy history and a walk down memory lane. The volunteer staff are great and seeing the old shop is extraordinary as it is just as it was many years ago. Grab a tea/coffee and Devonshire tea for a bargain price.
A little wonder in the middle of Wedderburn High Street. The museum consists of a number of buildings and although the street front is looks small when you enter the builds stretch back from the street. The building on the left houses a gallery showing local artist works, a gift shop and a small cafe with seating. The cafe serves Devonshire tea and toasties which are lovely after a work through the General store building. The general store has been preserved in a turn of the century arrangement, with a grocery, haberdashery, and hardware store. Within the store are displays of Wedderburn history. Down in the two cellars below the building are the display if the printing presses and equipment use for the early local paper. Buildings out the back host a blacksmith with a number of wagons, and an early hearse. Access to the cellar is via a number of narrow stairs with hand rails.
Great place to have a coffee and cake and get an idea of the local art displays happening. Art displays rotate on a regular basis, so just because you have called in once, doesn't mean the next time will be the same. In addition, the attached museum provides a look back in time. All the items in the museum are donated and maintained to keep the history alive. The project is owned by the local Lions Club and operated by Loddon Arts, two local non profit organisations who greatly appreciate your support.
An absolutely fascinating step back in time. So many different things to look at; well worth a visit. We'll definitely be returning!
Awesome Museum great job by all Management & Staff as I am CASPA Paranormal Investigations looks spooky but fantastic to investigate 👻👻
It a place to glimpse the past, all types of items available in a shop that sold almost everything! It’s just amazing that the museum is well looked after. Definitely worth going for when visiting Wedderburn. Also had a very friendly staff volunteer.
Had a great time exploring the history of Wedderburn . Fascinating seeing the old tools in the black smith area.
Highly recommend, very interesting and so so many objects to see. It was like going back in a time machine, unbelievable some of the things they have in there. The gallery has some great artwork, textiles etc too. It is run by lovely and dedicated volunteers and you can have a coffee at the end. Really appreciate your hard work to save our history.

Great place to camp 🏕️ for a night or longer Very spacious, with site spread out Donations for using the camping site & toilets 🚽 + Showers 🚿 as well
A good free camp. No longer do you pay $20 deposit for a key, envelopes are provided to pay a donation towards upkeep of this large area with flat sites, 2 toilets and 2 showers. Take it to the friendly information kiosk just up the road. Camp fires, pets allowed. Spend some time and money on a proud town that is reinventing itself to tourism.
Nice free camping spot. Max 4 week stay. Toilet block and showers, lots of space. Looked after by volunteers so keep the place tidy for them lots of bins. Mozzies are a bit rough at night like any. Lots of broken glass around shoes on.
Area located on the outskirts of the Wedderburn CBD, in close proximity to the Gold Battery. Its a fairly impressive endeavour by the Wedderburn Council to have this dedicated RV / Caravan free camping section. There is no water or power or toilets but there is perfect flat ground, shaded, picnic tables and nearby tourist attractions such as walking trails. You could easily walk to the local shops. Have a driver through there or check out the images I took.
Shhh- this is a gem of a place to free camp! Set in the middle of gold diggings, plenty of space, toilets and hot showers available ( with deposit of $20.00 at the visitor information centre) and walking distance to the town. Furry friend and fires allowed. Don’t tell anybody else :)
Picnic, BBQ and camping facilities here, some shaded campsites available. Reserve is on the Loddon Shire Blue Mallee Bike Trail, a well marked and easy 8k loop that passes various points of interest. Campground a short bike ride from town.
A hidden gem of bush camping .Plenty of areas to set up camp 96 hours Max. If you need showers n toliets key available at info centre $ 20 deposit If using power, toliets n showers a $ 5 pp donation goes a long way to help with costs .Shops, street art and museum well worth a visit . Quite a few reviews mention free camping .Whilst you are not asked for donation it really helps to donate a small amount for upkeep ..Especially uf you use showers which are clean with lovely hot water , clean flush toliets and some power outlets .Rubbish bins also provided .Leave this place as you would like to find it please ,so we can all return to stay again .
Great spot to stay while having a look around the area, donation for hot showers and fill the tanks in the van.

Lovely little camping and picnic area just off the Wedderburn-Serpentine road. Lots of shade and wonderful bird watching area. Not really enough room for more than a couple of camping groups.
We camped here overnight on the way to Mildura. It is isolated and doesn't have toilet or water facilities. The Mountain has crops of Granite rocks and provides a scenic backdrop - with a medium length trail with a medium inclination leading to the summit - not an easy hike for those low in stamina. The most annoying problem, for campers, was the millions of ants which made finding a clearing to set up a tent, impossible!
Great walk up to the top. There is no set track so you have to make your own way, but it is an easy walk. I went up with a 9 year old with no problems.
Great hike beautiful rocks, slow incline from the car park so not too difficult.
Loved climbing to the almost top with my dog
We enjoy hiking as a family, with four kids 9 and under. But Mount Korong is not for that. There are no bathroom facilities, and neither is there a trail for you to follow to reach the top. We had to make our own way which included ducking trees and climbing rocks. There were also some steep parts. Without young kids, it’s a good experience though. It’s too hard for little feet. It took my husband and me just over an hour to hike up.
Fantastic hike. Beautiful views from top. Huge boulders everywhere. Make your own track up and down. Brilliant.
Great walk to the top in the early morning after camping at the reserve the night before. We had fun watching the birds arguing over who was roosting where for the night!
