Very interesting historical ruin. Not a lot of signs giving actual information - they talk about a book you can buy which will have information. As other reviews say there is a lot of graffiti - however, I think the presence of graffiti also has great historical value. Because of the location and the fact that most graffiti has been carved directly into the wall, some names and dates you can still see are from as early as the 60s and 70s. Walking into the entrance, as half buried as it was, reminded me of the excavations at Pompeii.
Directions were lacking, very sadly this building had been graffitied. The sand hills were consuming the remains. Not wheelchair accessible. No cost.
Eucla is a remote but memorable stop along the Nullarbor, with a mix of history, scenery, and real outback atmosphere. The old telegraph station partly buried in sand dunes is haunting and incredibly photogenic—it really feels like stepping into another time. A short walk through the dunes takes you to the beach, where the remains of the old jetty stand against the crashing waves. It’s quiet, peaceful, and surprisingly beautiful. The roadhouse nearby is handy for fuel, food, and a place to stay the night. If you’re driving across the Nullarbor, Eucla is more than just a pit stop—it’s one of those places that stays with you.
The old telegraph station is worth a look, however, the lack of signage and information lets the experience down. There are no markings that I saw that show the way to the jetty either, and after a decent attempt, I turned back for fear of getting lost on my way back to the parking area. A little thought about meeting the needs of visitors would go a long way.
People have graffitied the ruins destroying it. Many have carved into the walls plaster making it fall off exposing the bricks an mortar. Such a shame people do it
Great piece of history, but shame the sand hills are covering it and in a few years even gone. I had abit of trouble getting there as I am a little disabled, but I was determined. I couldn't get to the jetty as it was about a km over more sandhills .
An interesting place to visit. One day this structure might not be visible if the sand dunes keep rising. Also a nice walk to the ocean and the old jetty.
Worth to go, but it hasn't been maintained properly. So many vulgar graffiti and etched names ruined the historical spot.

The accommodations are comfortable, and the staff is exceptionally attentive, striving to ensure a pleasant stay for every guest. Yummy food with great presentation. ( unable to upload photos) Having stayed there previously, I have always been impressed. Whenever I travel by road, this road house will undoubtedly be my preferred choice. Please note that they accept reservations via telephone.
Spotless room, friendly staff, decent meals, smart TV. I stayed for one night with my dog. Very comfortable bed, great shower. The only reason it’s not a 5 star review is because the heater is very noisy.
Can't speak to rooms, we stopped to charge EV. So impressed with it (by comparison to some others across the Nullarbor) we'll stay there (van) on our way back across. Staff were great, location perfect for us. If youre crossing, go that bit further or stop a bit earlier & stay here rather than Eucla!
Charming and Peaceful Stay – A Bit Dated, But Full of Character ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ I recently stayed at this quaint rural motel, and while it's clear the place has been around for a while, it absolutely won me over with its charm and warmth. The decor is a bit dated, but everything was clean, well-kept, and functional. It felt like stepping back in time in the best possible way. The setting is peaceful and quiet, with beautiful country views, sunset and a calm atmosphere that's hard to come by these days. The staff were friendly (a lovely Italian couple ❤️ running the place) and genuinely welcoming, which made the experience all the more enjoyable. I also appreciated the little touches: fresh coffee in the morning, extra blankets in the room. If you're looking for a humble, modest accommodation, this one is your spot and if you value character, quiet, and a touch of nostalgia, do not search further. I'd definitely stay again! 👌⭐
We stayed at the Mundrabilla Roadhouse and were really impressed. The caravan park has plenty of space, powered sites, and a clean toilet/shower block which made the stop comfortable and easy. There’s loads of room to pull in, even with a big rig, and everything felt relaxed and welcoming. A special mention to Tom, the French barman – he was so nice, friendly, and genuinely great to chat with. It made the visit feel more personal and enjoyable. Overall, a great stop on the Nullarbor with good facilities, lots of space, and wonderful hospitality
We were travelling westward towards Perth. At about noon we happened to pass by this road house which had placed an advertisement for "cheapest fuel around". We decided to make a pit stop for lunch, the next stop being Madura which is about an hour away. Indeed their petrol was the cheapest around compared with other roadhouses within a 3-hour drive. But what impressed us was their food. We (me and wife) shared a full rack of pork ribs, and it was good. The price was also reasonable, quite similar to what you will expect to pay in "civilisation". When they realised that we were sharing the meal, they brought an additional plate for us without being asked. Definitely recommended as a stopover for anyone doing the Nullarbor route.
Diesel was slightly cheaper than in Madura, but there was no air compressor either. The fries for lunch were fresh, hot, and crispy. French staff there at the moment.
We stayed a night at the motel in May. Yes motel rooms are old but they were clean, bed was comfy and shower was hot. It was very reasonably priced. The staff were friendly and the pub meal was great. There are limited options when driving across the Nullarbor and we were glad we stopped there.

Was there helping out 2 excellent divers breaking world record for underwater distance with multiple other crew. I learnt alot about things I didn't know? even though I was a Cave Diver, Master Scuba Diver Trainer, IDC staff instructor, IANTD and TDI Instructor, Re-Breather inst, Gas Blender, Equip specialist, Medic First Aid Instructor certified over a thousand people on levels. The crew were excellent Divers, Cavers And as I had a large experience in wild caving (Dry) Australia and World wide alot under ocean water's/reef They all tought me alot and introduced me. Dived in Cocklebiddy, Weebubbie, Tommy Grahams and a fossil cave, learnt a heap on both occasion's.
It takes 18 minutes to drive to the cave from the car park on the side of the road. Yes the cave is closed, but you can still climb down to the barriers at the mouth of the cave and observe the wonder of it.
Advertised as a cave, however unfortunately one cannot enter at the moment. The track in was a bit bumpy which always incites excitement for the adventure. Interp - exceptional, I read every word. Fascinating history of the area. Didn’t see a chocolate wattle bat but heard them click! Here’s a photo of what I believe to be remains of the famous thylacene. Could be wrong though. Would gladly be corrected by a cave diver in a fossil cave.
Went down to where the water was in 1998, then went there in 2014 but they have taken away the access ladder so makes it harder to get down.
first sighting of big larry
Great place but don't go if it's been raining.
Amazing cave! Arguably the best cave on the nulabour
Closed cuz of unsable rocks
