《If You Love Nature and Want to Escape City Life, This Place Is a Hidden Gem!》 《Amazing Managers, Unforgettable Experience!》 The managers, Julie and Les, are absolutely wonderful! They introduced us to kangaroo joeys, colorful wild birds, and even a wild snake patiently waiting for its prey. They guided us on a walking tour around the area, helping us search for echidnas while sharing fascinating information about the local flora and fauna. We even saw a kangaroo skeleton—such a cool experience! 《Stay in a Cozy Cabin and Immerse Yourself in Nature》 Bring your own bedsheets, pillows, blankets, towels, bath towels, and toiletries, and stay in a cabin for 2-3 nights. At night, listen to the soothing sounds of crickets and birds, and in the morning, watch kangaroos hopping across the grasslands—a truly peaceful and relaxing experience. You can also explore the outdoors in search of echidnas and numbats, observe over 105 species of birds, or take on nearby hiking trails for an adventure-filled day. 《Well-Equipped for a Comfortable Stay》 The large cabins accommodate 4-10 people, and you can park your car right outside. Everything you need is provided: ✔ Clean bathrooms and toilets (with toilet paper, plenty of hooks, and rails) ✔ An additional outdoor toilet, so you won’t have to worry about availability while showering ✔ A fully equipped private kitchen, including a four-burner stove, fridge, microwave, hot water kettle, toaster, pots, pans, plates, cups, utensils, sponges, dishwashing liquid, and dish towels ✔ An outdoor gas BBQ grill, perfect for enjoying a barbecue under the open sky! 《Cozy Living Space and Fireplace Gatherings》 The living room has three large sofas, and you can buy firewood from the office to light the fireplace at night. Gather around with family and friends, sip on a warm drink, and enjoy a cozy and relaxing evening—it’s pure bliss! 《Disconnect and Enjoy the Peace》 Internet reception inside the cabins is unstable, making this the perfect place to unplug and take a break from the digital world, fully immersing yourself in nature. 《Exciting Night Adventure with Wildlife》 At night, don’t miss the Barna Mia nocturnal tour, where you’ll use a red-light flashlight to search for native wildlife in the darkness—an exciting and unique experience! 《Family-Friendly with Plenty of Space》 If you have kids, there are playground facilities for them to enjoy! The cabins are also spaced apart, ensuring privacy and minimal disturbance from other guests. 《Respect Nature and Keep It Clean》 Before leaving, please tidy up the space, restore everything to its original condition, and dispose of your trash in the outdoor bins. If you have children, this is also a great opportunity to teach them about responsibility! 《Can’t Wait to Return!》 I absolutely fell in love with this place! Every morning at around 5 AM, I would wake up, sit on the back porch, sip a cup of hot tea, and watch the sunrise—such a peaceful and enjoyable moment. Although I didn’t get to see echidnas or numbats this time, that just gives me another reason to come back!
Great bush glamping at the historic forestry village in renovated old style Cottages. Now run by Lions , not for profit, so great value from Only $130 /nt for 4. Byo linen, and leave clean, ok. Enjoy the Numbats, kangaroos, birds, bush, cheers. Les.
Excellent accommodation with good dining facilities for a large group or small family. Reasonable charges. Good play facilities for children between ages of 6 and 14. Very limited internet which could be a boon or disadvantage depending on viewpoint.
This is such an amazing place. We seen all the animals we went there to see. Night walks are a must. The staff are friendly and very helpful. I highly recommend this place and the surrounding areas to visit. Cottages are clean and have everything we needed. Definitely going back and now one of our favourite spots.
We stayed in or camper so have not rated the rooms, the rest of the place is great, lots of space, good facilities, the kitchen and dining area are fabulous, good clean toilets and showers. I would recommend, and if you like bush walking and nature spotting the woodland will not disappoint.
Great location with so much wildlife to see on the plenty of well built and looked after walk trails in the surrounding area. We stayed in the Mallee Hen cottage which was perfect for two. Lots of room, good balcony and all the necessities needed. Les and Julie were great hosts who are chipping away at making it an even better camp.
great place for a quiet getaway. saw echidnas, kangaroos, a numbat and the night time tour was fantastic too.
Spectacular location, absolutely gorgeous. The nearby hikes had a great range for all abilities. The Cute little cabins had all the basics you need. We will definitely be back! *Beware of the minimal to nil phone reception.*

We stayed over the night at Downderry wines and had the best time! we’ve been to tasting in countries all over the world and never have we had a 10/10 wine selection like we did here. You can’t go wrong, whatever you like I’m sure they’ll live up to your expectations, Rex and Jan made our short stay one to remember.
We found Downderry wines on Wikicamps as a place to stay overnight and it's been our best stay ever. The owners Jan and Rex are very welcoming, and host many travellers on their property. We paid cash on arrival and the price was exceptionally reasonable for a one night stay with access to their toilets. We had a wine tasting and ended up buying a case of SSB, a bottle of their Shiraz, and a Port style wine - the Champagne style wine was also delicious!! We spotted that they had new lambs, and alpacas, and were invited to help feed them which was so lovely! Rex brought a out some wine dregs for us to enjoy, and even a taste of their new port which was STUNNING! He even bottled some for us the next morning to take away. A magical place and well worth a visit ✨
Had the best time with the perfect host Rex and his partner. Beautiful wine tasting experience ☆ All you need to camp - Rex was very kind to sort us a firepit and firewood ♡ Never seen the sky so clear at night and it was a surreal experience - you could stargaze for hours ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
this camp is fantastic, great hosts, great wine, and great fun wathing the sheep and alpacas interact during feeding, top spot.
This place is amazing! We were greeted by the owners Jan and Rex who were very hospitable and guided us through their fantastic wines. Definitely a worthwhile visit if you're heading past Williams. It's a unique experience at a winery that is quite kid friendly.
Such a lovely winery with a passionate owner who makes the most delicious reds, whites and ports! I don't usually like white or sparkling wines, but I found theirs delicious and very drinkable. Ended up buying shiraz, cab sav, and two different types of port. I really couldn't recommend stopping in more, so different (and much more pleasant) the big commercial winery experiences!
Rex and Jan are lovely, welcoming hosts. We stayed overnight, booked through Hipcamp. Had a quick wine tasting and chat with Jan, met up with Rex later for a yarn while hand feeding the alpacas. Beautiful property, wonderful wines and a fantastic relaxing stay. Also a great place for stargazing! Thanks very much Rex and Jan 🤩
Great spot to camp, friendly hosts assist when required.

We met the most friendly and interesting people at this visitor's centre. The model of the town is next level 👌. The old locomotive outside is earmarked for an interior restoration when (obviously a lot of) funds become available. It's just a shame that some people went to so much trouble to trash it.
A Visitor centre flag fluttered promisingly in the breeze - so we stopped to take a look and find out more. But like almost everything else in Narrogin, its Saturday early afternoon and closed / (we found one Cafe open in the town and that was it). The Train on display is locked up and plastered with graffitti inside. The original exterior colour painted over in sombre grey. Interesting old mail box (1897). An unusual artistic designed and well crafted seating bench is on display and ready to rest on.
The staff are great and very passionate about the area. There is a big model town on display that has been really well presented. The level of detail that has been captured is awesome.
Old train on display outside. There is a replica of what Narrogin used to look like back in the day. Learn about the region and the flora and fauna. the train display is interactive for the little ones some light come on and trains spin around. Pamphlet information available too.
Good display of historical town and railway lines. Friendly service and plenty of pamphlets to choose from. Sadly, no fridge magnets are available.
Free public toilet with shower and also laundromat.
Friendly, helpful and happy to look up anything they didn't already know.
Service provided was excellent

Awesome shop with huge range! The staff really know their stuff and are happy and helpful. A must see!
Fabulous shop, super friendly staff, and you'll find everything (including a camp kitchen sink) in this store. Just want to add, people do drive all the way from Perth just for a camp chair. Why? Because you get great service, they have them all on display to try out and the prices are better. Nice way to have a Saturday drive.
Great place. Service is top notch. Have a lot of things in stock or can order in for you. Plenty of parking. Can't recommend enough.
Heard about them through word of mouth and wasn't disappointed. We were served by Heidi who provided great service and was nice. Their prices are a lot cheaper than other stores we frequent (Claremont)

Worth a stop as allows stunning views from the top. A relatively easy walk to the topbut some people with knee/hip/ankle joint problems might struggle slightly. Native spider, donkey orchids In patches, and a tad windy!
At 82 years of age it was a slow, but truly rewarding climb. Followed my daughter and son- in- law to the top, a wonderful shared adventure. We are first-timers in visiting this part of the Wheatbelt, enjoyed all we saw.
Found this great place by accident. More like GPS embarrassed. Was on way to Kulin. There was no one else here so it was very peaceful. Easy place to walk around. Just climb it a little bit. Sit down and enjoy looking over the landscape.
Worth the short drive from Narrogin. Steep walk up the rock but great views all the way round farming area. BBQ area near by but did not use it.
Basically, it's just a very big rock. With views over farm land. Not to steep but do take water and boy oh boy the flies were so happy to see us. Overall, it was a good experience.
Ripper views on this very large granite rock. Easy walk up, since it's a shallow incline, and parking, picnic area below. A hidden gem near narrogin. Can get windy though!
Bigger than it looks from the bottom.

Great location!!! I visited mid august, great range of beautiful little native orchids. Surreal Dryandra trees, cutie fascinating sundews. Well marked paths. My partner who just started to get into orchids last year ended up spotting most of them before I did which was a nice memorable moment. She doesn't have the same physical endurance as me yet but that didn't hold us back as the good paths had everything we wanted to see right alongside. So if you're not the most confident bushwalker but have plently of enthusiasm I think that'll also be your expeirence. Overall a memorable trip. The foxes lair website has tons of information, one of the best websites for a bush reserve in the state, has maps of where specific orchids flower in the reserve. If you visit I strongly recommend checking out the website first to make ur trip even better. Foxes lair is also right next to narrogin, so the ease of getting a hot meal and a soft drink before starting the driving back to perth is a major plus Not many cons: Long distance to drive to if you're starting at perth. Small amount of invasive weeds in some areas, around the picnic area is worst for this, unavoidable anywhere near a town but still sad to see.
Great walking trails, different levels. I would like to do it again when the wildflowers are out.
Lots of bird life and lizards. Signs ok, but can be a bit of a maze - a good map is useful. Plenty walking trails. Good MTB circuit, about 5kms. Probably rated basic to intermediate, with a short beginners circuit there too.
Great trails. All clearly marked. Very quiet and clean. Awesome for hiking and mountain biking.
Great reserve so close to town. Clay Pit walk and Yellow trail provided us with heaps of exercise and photo opps of native orchids. Will visit again when next passing through town
Reserve and arboretum with paths and picnic area. Council blocking trails with gates to try and prevent vehicle access. Popular with dog walkers but liberally sprinkled with broken glass, so be careful.
A great place for birds and flowers
Great fun exploring this little known secret of the wheat belt. Worth a 30minute detour!
