Absolutely well worth the visit. Very well laid out. The history of out back aviation for the flying doctor hands of perseverance it took to get everything going. The pedal power units to pedal power the radios from anywhere. And school of the air exhibits.
Awesome museum dedicated to some amazing and very important pioneers of the outback. Rev John Flynn, who has the idea of starting a flying doctor in the outback and to Alfred Traeger, inventor of pedal radio units and many others.
Very informative & interesting lots of historical items & displays
John Flynn Place Museum in Cloncurry is a fascinating tribute to Australia’s outback heritage. The exhibits beautifully capture the story of the Royal Flying Doctor Service and the vision of John Flynn. The displays are well-maintained, informative, and full of authentic artefacts that bring early outback life to light. The staff are friendly and clearly passionate about sharing the history. It’s a must-visit if you’re travelling through northwest Queensland — both educational and inspiring, with a genuine local charm.
Lots to read and learn. Loved to know that Cloncurry was the first place for the royal flying doctor service. Such a great service for the outback and still going strong.
Interesting history but boring display Can understand who is the man on $20 note and a great medical system for inland and also the some radio history Ticket$13
Great experience. Shout out to Mr Casey for the tour of Lockheed Orion, your knowledge is impressive and we enjoyed your sharing. Wide range of collection. Clean toilets. Recommend visiting whether you are a fan of planes or not :)
Glad to read inspiring stories of people pioneering the services of the outback. Good informative displays. A contrast to how news portrays Australia now.

So much to see here, great stop for an hour. Lots of interesting machinery in great condition has been restored and put on display around the park. I really liked the water tank artwork, very well done. There is a cafe, information centre and good toilets along with plenty of parking.
Great spot beside the information centre. Good parking for motorhomes and caravans. Playground for the kids. Free to look around outside and 61 steps up to a lookout.
Great info centre and park. Lots of information, friendly staff, great history display. There are dogs near the park that bark at you non stop which could be controlled but the area is beautiful. Restrooms are clean. Displays are well kept. Lawn is well kept. A must do in Curry
Excellent display, both inside and outside. Large historical machinery and murals and lovely parkland.
Lots to look at, gift store had a pretty good variety of things to see
Excellent displays and very informative about the district and progress made by the pioneers.
Cute little park. Lovely walk up to the lookout.
Lovely place to wander around looking at some old equipment used to tame the bush and surrounding areas

Worth a quick stop to stretch your legs and visit the spot
Stopped to have a look, then about another 6 vans turned up in a very tight space.
I'll combine the 2. MK is worth a look - but watch the road in - pot holes a mile deep ... :) Its just a nice spot to stop and reflect. Keep an eye out as its easy to whip by at 100/110 klm per hour.
We love a good bit of history
Called in today, very disappointed to find that the actual bronze plaque has been removed and replaced with graffiti! Hopefully, someone in the know can get it fixed.
Nice little stop on the road to mount isa
Just a monument under a tree. Every photo we took included the big red wheelie bin - it's way too close.
Interesting memotial. Beautiful colours. Good to stop and think about the past.

Was lucky to visit while there were only 3 campervans. Found a high vantage point to survey the area, spot the animals, close my eyes and just listen to the 20 or so different species of birds singing away. It was very relaxing and refreshing.
A great free camp located approximately halfway between Mount Isa and Cloncurry. The camp is accessed from the Barkly Highway. The turnoff is signposted. Access is through two gates; each appears locked, but is not! Close them as you pass through. The track beyond the second gate is steep and rough. Note, once committed, there are no turnaround points until you reach the Clem Walton Park toilet block! The sites are roomy, and immediately on the creek. The water is of good quality, and fishing is a common practice for many campers. Campfires and generators are permitted. Highly recommended for 4x4 campers.
A beautiful spot to camp by the Corella Dam and River and it's free. There are flush toilets at the river section. The road into that part is rough but 4WD's with caravans still enter. Birdlife is exceptional.
Opened the gate and drove down towards the creek. We were intending on spending the night here but unfortunately it was absolutely packed with Grey-Nomads. Not something that bothers me but they had been a little selfish with their setups and subsequently there wasn't really a great deal of level ground on which to park up. Went for a walk along the creek, looks perfect for fishing, but also perfect as a crocodile breeding site. Plenty of bird life to observe. On the positive side, it was a reasonably tidy place with very little rubbish, just the odd beer bottle from previous visitors. We upped sticks and moved on in search of a quieter, flatter spot.
Camped here for 2 nights. Beautiful spot. Lots of wildlife including birds galore.
Wonderful place to spend a few days down by the water. When you drive in there is a gate with a padlock but it is not locked just unwrap it and go in. The road will come to y junction and right will take you to the dam but left will take you to the creek which has more places to camp. It has flushing toilets and bins which is great.
Awesome spot for a free camp. Lots of space overlooking the lake.
Stayed 4 nights at Free Corella Dam just near it. Absolutely incredible spot. Fresh water crocodiles 1km away along the water. Beautiful walk or bike ride to the dam. Nice to paddle board on the calm see-through water. Stunning sunrises and sunsets! Phone reception only by the one Telstra tree on the road.
