Wow...what a great little haven Quilpie is.. Customer Service was exceptional at the visitors centre & the small town turned it on for a few days visit. The history lesson of a town in the making & its growth was amazing. A night theatre show with drinks & tucker was exceptional..as was the town walk along the main street for coffee in the morning, pub meal for dinner, cold beer, highly recommend a stopover here & at the caravan park.
Very helpful with a small gallery and museum to visit. I enjoyed visiting Quilpie, the drive from Charleville is spectacular post floods and the roads top quality. Then drove to Cunnamulla - same thing, great roads and the countryside is green and just a delight. No stop signs in the streets of Quilpie tho - kinda hilarious really!
Absolutely a rip off. Showing us a video that at best is a pr for the area and should be in the visitors centre for all to see at no charge. Giving a half glass of wine and a blanket doesn’t help. You should be ashamed of stealing from tourists in this way.
An excellent movie explaining and showing the history and attractions of this small SE Qld town. Definitely book your seat in advance!
The night show was truly worth it. Besides being very informative of the area, the wine (including keeping the wine glass) and the snack box was delicious. Blanket supplied for the cool nights. Everything was thought of to make it a memorable experience
Excellent centre. Staff are very helpful and the displays accessible from the centre are well worth a visit. 3 museums, art gallery and outdoor movie theatre ( need to book for that one). Also a grassed play area for the kids and driver reviver coffee and tea available. Cheers to all involved in putting it together.
Good center. Twice weekly history film night is great.
We enjoyed the Quilpeta show, lovely snack box and the Quilpie tumbler we got to keep is lovely. The only feedback I can give is the multiple overlays on the video makes it so busy, and distracts a little from the story. Other than that it was really lovely.

So good I don't remember leaving.
I hate giving bad reviews, especially relating to small outback towns. However, our meal here was very ordinary. My chicken schnitzel and my wife's seafood basket were just about cremated. The wife did not feel well the rest of the evening either. She was also taken back by some of the colourful language coming from behind the bar. It is very disappointing when you are travelling and trying to support the local businesses.
Came here because everywhere else closed. Staff welcoming and clean bistro Ordered food and whilst the food was average pub grub we we’re disappointed to have to wait around 40min for food to be served This may have been as it was busy but still too long
Stopped in on my way through. Was a pizza night only which was ok but took 1.5 hours to get the pizza. If your not a local they don’t care how long you wait. Meanwhile the locals will get there’s straight away. Will not come to this terrible pub again. Will take my money else where
Rude staff. 1.5 hour wait for meals
A very popular place. Totally packed for dinner on a week night. Almost standing room only, customers also having to eat in the bar. Meals ordered for wife and myself very good, cooked to perfection, chips crispy and salad fresh
Dirty rooms aircon filter hadn't been cleaned in years, cupboards falling apart where are the health inspectors these days, they don't like the truth either heard from locals there shutting the doors, park cabins are beautiful and clean it's a credit to them.
Absolutely love the food, staff and the comfortable rooms right in the heart of town. Mike the manager is an asset to the pub! He took excellent care of us and made us feel right at home when our car broke down and we were stuck in Quilpie for 5 nights. Will definitely be visiting again 😁

What a hidden little gem. Great food, service and lawn bowls if you like to try your luck. Biggest crumb steak I have ever seen and was amazing.
Small bowling club friendly staff and locals Large burgers and crisp battered cod . Quick service if you arrive early
The club environment was great. Unfortunately lady behind the bar was totally rude and unprofessional. She was outside at 1115 am smoking and told us in no uncertain terms the club did not open until 1130 even though on the website and on the front door trading hours stated opening at 11am.
Great place for a quiet ale and round of pool. Friendly staff.
Unfortunately, our order came out wrong. Wife ordered the seafood basket. Instead, we received two chicken schnitzels. We were the only people dining in and to their credit, they offered to replace the meal. We didn't think that was fair. Sorry to winge, but I am not a fan of the reconstituted chicken schnitzel. The wife loved the veges but.
I ordered the grilled salmon and chips and veg for $34...yes it was pricey but it would be a great feed...right? When it came, the salmon was an inch wide, handful of overcooked chips, but veg was fresh. I was happy with the portion size but not the price. Yes miles from anywhere but a realistic price for the size would be better. Also the chef and kitchen staff were very loud, nosy, discussing their day...not professional guys, we dont need to know.
Best T.bone steak ever on their special of the day.👌
Nice to get an ice cold beer after camping out on the banks of Cooper's Creek and a drawn-out drive down from Longreach. The club is like an oasis especially since the pub was closed except for arranged accomodation. No evening meal, guess that's a combination of the impending wet season/off-peak tourism and a sign of these uncertain times. From a health practitioner's perspective COVID misinformation has a lot to answer for. Pleasant layout and atmosphere, spacious, nice to have the option of refreshments inside and outside and to stand on green grass and my dogs were allowed (on leash and under control, of course). Service though efficient and courteous was offered without warmth unless a local. Shame, a smile goes a long way to make people feel welcome especially when you're trying to attract people to the town and no doubt increase club membership. Notwithstanding I liked the place and will be back. Who knows might even buy land and build and make application for membership of the club. Hope you've got meals by then. Thank you for the opportunity to comment. Kind regards, Mick 🐶🎩😎🐺
