It was very cold this morning and we were three couples travelling through but noticed this lovely slab hut. We weren’t sure if the centre was open but noticed the smoke coming out of the chimney. How warm and cheery is this lovely place. The volunteer was very friendly and helpful. The gifts were very good quality and reasonably priced. We left with a lovely handbag and a well crafted wallet.
One of the best places we have been to. The lady there was very knowledgeable and professional. The fire was so welcoming.
Great volunteers and help Such a great little shack and a beautiful town, I’m glad I did the drive along the river from Marlow in it was superb
Lovely ladies with lots of information and very friendly. Lovely little wooden cottage.
Friendly informative service and plenty of information in maps, brochures and artefacts set in an interesting slab hut. The Visitor Information Centre is situated in Forest Park on Nicholson Street. It is housed in a historic Slab Hut. The hut was an original family dwelling built in 1872, on a site approximately three kilometres upstream from the junction of the Buchan and Snowy Rivers. You browse through a large array of tourist information, maps, books on the area, locally made goods and trinkets, while you enjoy the open fire in winter and the natural coolness in summer. Stroll through the lovely cottage garden, where bellbirds are in abundance. You can have a picnic or barbecue in Forest Park, while the kids enjoy the playground. An added interest are the Tourist maps, mosaic path, walking tracks and flood marker.
Apart from it being a fascinating slab hut, the attendant was knowledgeable and voluntered helpful information for our travels. The attached gallery has remarkable timber work.
Very interesting man tolds a bit about the history
On a phone enquiry I found them very knowledgeable and helpful. Will be popping in to say thanks soon

This is a very good spot to stop and not only because its in the middle of nowhere. This supernew brewery and tastingroom with food options is a great thing for this region. Very friendly staff and a superb location. Had a perfect tasting paddle with fishtaco’s and oysters. The quality of the beers and the story behind it made me very surprised and if is wasn’t living overseas i would like to join the team. Got the opportunity to chat with Chris the Brewmeister of the beers and got to know a bit more about the way of making coastal craft beers of a outstanding quality. Will return when in Australia and keep an eye open on their socials to be knowing whats going on in this beautiful part of Victoria and in a high class brewery. Thanks again Chris👌👌
Wow what a place! Set on a large property away from town with natural bushland and the ocean nearby this place is amazing! Mexican style food truck food like tacos and burrito bowl to fill your stomach, a playground and fireplaces. Don't forget an amazing range of beer styles sure to whet your whistle this place is a must go for beer lovers! Along with the venue is the amazing B, what a lovely young lady, friendly and helpful, happy to converse, with an equally amazing knowledge of beer to help you craft the best paddle and guide you with your takeaway purchases. I'll definitely be back when I'm back in this part of the world. Thanks so much for an amazing afternoon.
Amazing beers but equally ‘amazing’ prices! Having driven this far off the beaten track, you are somewhat captive, so I begrudgingly coughed up a staggering $38 for a 6x120ml tasting paddle. I ordered a burrito wrap which was tasty but very small at $20. Despite the fact the beers were excellent, would I venture here again, yeah/nah. Out of interest, the most I’ve ever paid for a paddle is $24. A lot of breweries don’t even do them anymore but rather let you try what you want for nicks before you commit to a pint.
A quick stop between Canberra and Melbourne, we noted the mobile Sailor's Grave Brewing tap trailer on the Lakes Entrance wharf front. The Sailor's Grave team member was an absolute gem, a delight in fact. Super friendly and engaging we couldn't help but grab a cider and stout on her recommendation. Neither disappointed! Do drop in on the pop-up tap trailer... like us, make a vow to visit the Sailor's Grave team at their resting place, Marlo in Gippsland, Victoria.
What a great place to spend a couple of hours on a Sunday afternoon. Beers are fresh and delicious. Get the paddle so you can try a sample of their range. But there’s so much to choose from. Pickle beer, chinotto beer, lemon meringue beer. They’re wild and funky but all are delicious. And a decent range of lagers and IPAs and stouts as well. Food looked delicious And a big shout out to Bee. Her service was effusive and fun, and highly professional. She’s an asset to this brewery!
Stopped at the brewery on a quick visit to the area. Great location and selection of beers. The food on the day was pretty tasty (loaded fries are awesome) In particular, I'd like to commend the young lady working on the day...I think I heard "B"....excellent customer service and a delightful personality. She created a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, made sure the fire pits were lit before it got too cold and was all over the venue, making everyone, young and older, feel welcome. She is a true asset to business. We'll be back for "B"!
Location was great, super play area for kids, building was great. Beer tasting was good too. My negative would be the fish tacos. These were very expensive for batter on the smallest tacos I've ever seen. 3 to a serve. They were not fish just a tiny piece of batter. The pulled pork were at least tasty but still tiny. Sorry for the negative review.
Honestly guys. 10 out of bloody 10. Dunetown was absolutely fantastic. Refreshing service, ripper beer, beautiful location, fresh and tasty food, free range eggs and somewhere for the kids to be kids. I'd give this 10 stars if I could. Well done. Thank you for the hospitality! Keep doing what your doing!

Amazing new playground and facilities. Toilets, change table, BBQ, sink, grass area, tables, shelter and even somewhere to charge your phone. They've thought of everything! Thank you!
Good stop off point for a long drive, nice lawn area and shaded picnic tables. It has an outdoor playground for children and public toilets. 8/10
This afternoon, my parents and I visited the Forest Park plus did the Snowy River Waterwatch Walk in Orbost. It was a lovely sunny day with a top temperature of 21 degrees. I haven't done a lot of walking or hiking this week due to a number of reasons including work, celebrating birthdays, health issues and poor sleep. But today I was determined to try and make up for it. It's been several years since I last visited Orbost. The Slab Hut which acts as the town's information centre is still as memorable as ever. There have been several upgrades to the Forest Park including new outdoor gym equipment, public toilets and playground. The Snowy River Waterwatch Walk hasn't changed at all. Sadly all the signage has mostly been damaged and/or faded. Though the river itself, the native birds and the impressive large trees are still stunning to look at. It's a very easy and peaceful walk alongside the Snowy River.
This is a great little park with a fully fenced playground area, located near a well maintained toilet block with plenty of car parking close by. There is lots of open green space and some wonderful paved walking/cycling tracks. There are also picnic tables situated throughout the park, some undercover, others under the shade of large trees. It's a wonderful park offering so much to all ages. It's worth checking out yourself.
One of the best playgrounds ive been to in terms of safety and facilities
Perfect pit stop for kids. brand new playground, undercover seating, toilets and bbq and sink.
The entrance road needs some work with deep holes on both sides hampering access for normal ride height two wheel drive cars.
Lovely park. We just had a quick stop on a long drive so didn't explore everything. Playground for kids, toilets, bbq and picnic areas.
