It was my first time on a Jet boat, and I loved it; awesome driver. Sea sickness was not a problem as we were not rocking for very long, and most of the time, the boat was flat. But it was cold, so I would recommend wearing a beanie, scarf, and a few layers, with the top one being a windbreaker or rain jacket, as there may be a small amount of water spray. 5/5 Fantastic experience.
A view kiwi style adventure laid back and just general fun, commercial companies have nothing on a good old small kiwi company. A very cool trip with great scenery and atmosphere of the river. Very rare to get to experience both braided rivers and narrow gorges. An amazing trip and will do again.
FORGET THE BIG COMPANIES - Blair was absolutely terrific. Not only was our ride FANTASTIC but he shared his local knowledge, showed us around & took pics for us all. Go out of your way to ride with Blair - you won’t be disappointed. Andy & Debbie
This hour trip was very fun, slower paced for the first 30 mins and faster (more fun) paced on the way back, group photos were offered to be taken off everyone's phones. Great time, highly recommended
Fantastic experience, great trip with Blair - his local knowledge is great. Thanks for a memorable evening
Outstanding Experience!! Blair was friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. Highly recommended!!
Awesome experience, highly recommend, great family experience and gorgeous views 👌

A hotel located on a golf course. The rooms are spacious, 2 bedroom apartment has 2 X bathrooms and 2 rooms. Views are scenic with the southern alps in the background. Service is friendly and courteous. Please note, payment by card incurs a 2.5% surcharge. The restaurant and lobby is a 10 minute walk from the residence.
We stayed in a 2 bedroom villa for 3 nights, the villa was spacious and had the essential we needed. The decor is dated and there’s no lamp (floor or bedside) in the villa which is a bit odd. The villa is only accessible via 2 flights of stairs so I do not recommend it to people with mobility issues, or having difficulty carrying heavy luggages.
We had a fabulous stay at Fable Terrace Downs Resort. I’ve been to south island a few times and this was one of my favourite stays in New Zealand. The room was massive, had a kitchen and a seperate living area. The views from the balcony were breathtaking! Me and my friend enjoyed the evening watching the snow mountains. It was so peaceful and relaxing. Can’t wait to be back! Don’t forget to try their restaurant too, the food was great, i loved the pasta.
Our stay at Fable Terrace Downs Resort was absolutely wonderful, peaceful, scenic, and truly memorable. The location is breathtaking, surrounded by snow-capped mountains and overlooking the golf course and river valley. It’s the perfect place to unwind and reconnect with nature. The villa was spacious, spotless, and beautifully designed, warm fireplace, comfortable beds, and every little detail thoughtfully prepared. We especially loved waking up to the panoramic mountain views each morning. Breakfast at the clubhouse was excellent, with fresh local ingredients and warm, friendly service. Every staff member we met was attentive and genuinely kind, which made our stay even more special. If you’re looking for a luxurious yet tranquil getaway in the South Island, this resort is an absolute gem. Would love to return again in the future!
What a stunning place for a special anniversary trip. Food was incredible Jo and the staff at the clubrooms were great. And what a view to wake up to.
Beautiful golf course with beautiful scenery, only 1 hour from Christchurch. They rent very nice new clubs. You can enjoy delicious food after golf in the restaurant.
Unacceptable customer service experience in the restaurant. Had dinner and breakfast here, we have been “served” by the same waiter. He was showing attitude to us the whole time. Hopefully the management team could get some attention on this feedback. As we felt very uncomfortable and this is a very unpleasant experience for our family. This is WAY BELOW a 5-star hotel standards.

My fiancé and I had the most amazing stay with the Guild family. From the moment our flight landed, until we were back at the airport ready to check-in Simon and his family delivered the most amazing experience we have ever had on a ski trip and every detail was taken care of. If you're looking to experience the club fields and the wider Canterbury region the way the locals do then you cannot do better than a stay at High Peak. From the food to the wine and the accommodation, everything is taken care of and delivered to such a standard that rivals some of the most high-end luxury heliski lodges I have stayed at in Canada. We didn't enjoy the best ski conditions of our lives – not that Simon and his crew can control that anyway – but we were still guided to the best conditions possible and also had an incredible heliski day with Kevin at Methven heliski. We are already planning our return trip to stay with the Guilds and hopefully bringing friends and family to share the experience with us!
Been back a week and missing it already. Fantastic place, run with care by genuine and warm people, with great service, food and wine thrown in. What more could anyone possibly need? They can even arrange a helicopter to your door if you'd like! I can't recommend Simon and family highly enough. I had 5 days perfect heliskiing (I think I was lucky), but I really appreciated the time and effort Simon & co. put into making sure everything went smoothly. Thanks guys, see you next year!

The Benlea Farm Tour was such a precious find for my friends and I. To not only be treated to amazing views of the gorge but also have the chance to see the adorable farm animals and learn what it takes to run a farm (it’s a lot!). The highlight for me however was hearing the stories and sharing from Laura and Cathie. Their love for the farm really shone through and I was moved by the amount of ‘heart’ and effort they have put into this family business. Special mention to the yummy scones prepared by the multi-talented mama Cathie! Thank you Laura, Cathie & Sam for this tour and for being so patient with our questions. You did everything to make us feel at home and your warmth was thoroughly felt. Wishing you all the best with your family business :)
I had an amazing experience Tour yesterday with my family. Beautiful farm, beautiful animals especially baby lambs. Catie ( the owner) is very sweet, friendly and kind. Thank you for the warm welcome, delicious homemade scones and wonderful Tour.
This farm tour was a highlight of our trip to NZ! We spent about 3 hours there and got to feed an incredibly cute lamb, pet several fat sheep, see the dogs heard, and speak to several different members of the Benlea Farm team about their amazing work. And the afternoon tea was delicious! Highly recommend.
Delighted with the hospitality and thoughtfully planned farm tour at Benlea Farm. We enjoyed learning about farm operations and witnessing the sheepdogs in action! Katie made the tour entertaining and informative as we explored the farm in her SUV. Seeing the bulls, Angus cows, and the shearing process was fascinating. Feeding the animals was a highlight – who knew adult sheep love potato chips? The experience of bottle-feeding orphan lambs and treating George with potato chips and Whiskey was a fun surprise. And those scones were simply heavenly. Overall, an amazing up-close encounter with animals. Highly recommend this immersive farm experience for everyone!
Amazing, personal, unique, and authentic experience. It was probably the highlight of a two-week trip to NZ to watch (and participate in) how a team of dogs herded a mob of sheep from one field to another. We loved learning about life on a farm and enjoyed meeting the animals (even you, Allen ;-D). It felt much more like we had been invited over to a friend's house than like we booked a paid tour. 100% worth the detour!!
We had the greatest sheep & cattle farm tour experience with Cathie and Sam at their farm. This isn’t your run of the mill tourist trap roadside show for a quick buck. The authentic and genuine care for the animals was awesome to experience first hand as we watched the herding dogs move the animals around the farm. Cathie was kind enough to book us last minute and even made time to share tea and homemade scones with jam, butter, and cream. Delicious!! She even took the time to show all aspects of the farm through various videos taken throughout the year for events we otherwise wouldn’t see (snowfall, strong winds, auction day, sheering). If you’re really into agriculture they are championing regenerative farming and it shows in their paddocks and livestock. Give them a ring or book it right away, you will not be disappointed.
Perfect excursion off the beaten path to experience a working sheep and cattle farm. My husband and I loved hearing about the complexity of farming and seeing it in action and our kids loved feeding the animals, meeting the sheep dog and seeing the dog work it's magic with the sheep. Seeing the regenerative farming in action was excellent. And, did I mention there was homemade scones and jam - so good. Just delightful.
What an experience. Cathie (farmer in her own right working alongside her husband Sam) is amazing. Loves every sheep, horse, lamb and pig on their huge farm nestled under the Southern Alps. So environmentally conscious and so willing to share all that is farming on their working farm. I will happily recommend Benlea to my clients.
