"Embarking on a fantastic tour from Christchurch, I was greeted by stunning scenery during the drive. The location was fantastic, matched by exceptional service, making for a wonderful experience. One highlight was meeting Peggy, the adorable Merino lamb, in the incredibly well-maintained garden walk was wonderful. The gift shop stood out with its delicious honey and we got most of out gift from here. Booking directly, instead of through the cruise ship, proved advantageous as it allowed more time on the water and saved money, blending thrill-seeking adventure with moments of peace, relaxation, and breathtaking views. The museum, detailing the history of the jet boat, was remarkable. It clearly showcased the immense pride and passion Paul and Robin have for the industry." Gourmet Burger Lunch was wonderful with some yummy cakes at the end. A true home cooked feel and taste that I love so much. Thank for a wonderful experince a true highlight of our 14 day adventure.
I throughly enjoyed my Jet Boat experience on the picturesque Waimakariri River in this companies very comfortable, safe and super powerful water craft. The skipper knew the river inside out and thrilled all the passengers with many 360 degree high speed rotations and as we traveled many kilometres down steam then back upstream again. The very friendly shore staff even had a nice hot cuppa and bikies ready for us on our return. I consider the ride was excellent value for money and highly recommended it to anyone of any age and physical condition.
Absolutely awesome airboat ride today. Last minute decision to do it today and Andy obliged. Three very happy wee boys!!! Will definitely be doing it again soon.
Great ride up the Waimakariri with Andy. We all enjoyed the trip, it is great for children. Recommended trip if you are visiting Christchurch and want to see the surrounding environs.
One of the Best things to Experience in New Zealand. Enjoyed the Jet Boat thrill while gazing the Magical View all around. Beautiful cliffs and rushing blue waters. Definitely recommend this place. Tasty Ciabata Burgers. Great Hospitality by Paul and Robin as Great sheep show by Shawn...
Paul and his crew were fantastic! What a thrilling and amazing experience on the river! Safety was top notch but doesn’t get in the way of the fun. The lunch provided was fantastic and make sure to buy some local cold creek honey! 10/10 Absolutely would go again!
Loved it best place to go near Christchurch if you want to do something adventure and loved the team highly recommended 🤩
Well run, and great fun. Its a great ride up the shallow river and open Plains, no canyons on this one.

I cannot rate the rooms as we went up with the camper, but, considering the cleanliness of everything else, I assume they`ll be great! Food and drink varied and super delicious with plenty of options for non meat eaters! We have been there 4 times for the MTB track that it`s also great for riders from beginners to advanced, fantastic opportunity to refine your skills and endurance as you need to pedal up! I cannot wait for the snow to try the piste as well!
Porter's Lodge has a great atmosphere, a cozy log cabin feel with a fire burning all day, welcoming staff and a great menu. We spent two comfortable nights at the lodge in one of the family double rooms. It's basic accommodation, but beds were comfortable and shared facilities were clean and well kept. The kids were kept entertained with the games room and games cupboard and they would love to go back when the snow play area is open!! It's a great little spot for a family winter adventure.
Porters lodge is awesome! we stayed for a week. The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The food was great and good beers on tap. Pino was epic and our kids had befriended her very quickly. They went the extra mile when they sent our daughters precious bunnies back to us. Rooms were tidy and warm and comfy! thanks guys for the fantastic stay
My friends and I stayed at Porters this past weekend and booked the family room. From the moment you walk in you're welcomed by such a great team, and its so nice and toasty especially after a day of skiing. Definitely recommend a mulled wine and the pasta. Lowkey wish we had space for dessert too! Thank you Pino and the team for being extremely helpful to my friends and I 😊
we stayed in our camper van and were parked up at porters lodge. an absolute beautiful place and the staff working there were incredible nice! would highly reccomend.
One of our campsite highlights in NZ. We stayed a couple nights and spent these up in the lodge, we never wanted to leave. Thanks to the amazing staff, the famous Dunney of course is an absolute gent , Jess makes a mean gin bramble and the chef from England , another gent who makes sick wedges. It’s a cosy cabin feel and we met some amazing people there, but the staff make it what it is. Keep doing your thing Dunney, we look forward to coming back soon!
My family and I stayed at porters after a days skiing , great atmosphere, plenty of space indoor and out for kids to play/ explore , food was good , service was great with very friendly staff . Will definitely be back next winter !
We had a wonderful time staying for a night in the campervan. The lodge is a great place to relax with good food and drinks and the perfect atmosphere after a long day. Thank you!

I had an unbelievable time and the staff were so friendly, they took the time to explain and teach me all I needed to know about snowboarding down this amazing mountain - MOUNT COCKAYNE 4 LIFE! Big shoutout to Sam (“Guy with the red beard”) and your patience, sorry for breaking the 4 year streak about falling off the T-bar. The cheese toasties were amazeballs!
Just a bloody great hill. The new cuckoo shed was a good move , it looks schmick. Patrol are a bunch of GCs! They really know their mountain safety and how to operate the mountain.
Was our first time seeing the snow coming from Australia. Staff were awesome, and the snow was amazing. Highly recommend 👌
It's small skiresort with no liftys and not so many staff and not so many people is coming over here. It's like you have a own ski field for yourself. The grooming was excellent, the cattrack down had some rocks on it. The offpist should be really good on good snow days. Would definitely come back here again
I was privileged to see the Paragliding champs launching from the Carpark. The staff on the cafe above is were very polite and kind enough to allow me to use the facilities. After all the other pilots had taken off, I had a few hours myself flying my Gin Atlas 2 wing up and around the ski lifts. Absolutely amazing view! It did get a bit fresh high up though 😁😜
Epic powder days to be had here. Relatively easy hike up to the top of Mt Cockayne too for fresh tracks
Great sunny day with fresh snow at the end of the season. Surprised ski gear & clothing rental only $49. Really cheap prices for food and drink. E.g. $5 Latte, $5 hot pie. Smallish area with 2 T-bars but only one pisted.
Great laid back atmosphere, friendly staff, fantastic snow (at least there was the day I was up there!) and yummy pies (especially with reduced price after 3pm!)
