Carcoar Dam is a wonderful getaway for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of urban life and reconnect with nature. The location of Carcoar Dam is very convenient, just a short drive from major cities, making it easy for visitors to reach without hassle. Highly recommended!
Just off the road, large free camping area, cold showers ( in poor state of repair) plenty of of covered picnic table, and BBQ , ground is not level, can not camp within 20 m of toilets or tables+ great views of the find farm, and not too noisy!
The dam is lovely. A lot of room to camp both the trees side and no trees side. I paddled on it for a week and only saw four boats. Weekends it can get pretty busy especially in Spring and Summer. Blayney is not far away if you need to top up with groceries. It is listed as having a shower but it only had a hole in the wall where the shower used to be. Cold water came out so I still had a wash, but it isn't a shower. Peaceful place with a few long term residents by the looks. Totally worth a visit if you like windfarms and 5km of freshwater dam.
Free camped at Carcoar Dam. Lots of beautiful trees. Amenities cleaned every day. Views spectacular. Highly recommend
Awesome Sunrise. Clear sky during night making stars and constellations visible to eye. Overall, the place is worth visiting for camping.
Beautiful spot! Stunning views of the dam, bridge, windmills, and surrounding hills. Perfect for a peaceful getaway. 🌿🌊🌬️
Nice camping area, boat ramp available as well. Always people camping here and seems to be extremely busy on long weekends and peak summer season.
Excellent place to test your camping equipment. And very hard to leave during good weather. Old but very clean toilet block. BBQ area amazing with lights and water. Byo drinking water is a must. 24 hour lighting and regular friendly rangers/ police.

12/07/2024. Was closed when we arrived and the local shopkeeper told us it had been closed for about a year and nobody knows when it will reopen
What a hidden little gem. Don't miss it!
This is a must visit when you are near Orange or Bathurst. The owner of the collection is very friendly and guided us well..The museum is simply impressive and you can't help but get Nostalgic when here...too good!!
What a collection. Incredible. Really nice things and so much care and attention put into the displays. Lovely owner too.
It was a nostalgic trip back to my childhood and beyond! Some very quirky pieces I found amusing and displayed imaginatively in a beautiful historic building.

What can I say… Our car boot wasn’t big enough-to fit in everthing that I loved and wanted. A real little Aladdin’s Cave. Soooooo many wonderful items. Way too many to list. Give yourself plenty of time to immerse yourself in a beautiful unique store, and say hello to the beautiful store owner-Belinda. Who is ever so wonderful and helpful😃
I first wandered in to Tomolly last year whilst staying in the beautiful little village of Carcoar and drove approx 4/5 hours out of my way just to visit the shop on my way back from a mini break, a couple of weeks ago! I love this shop beautiful homewares, jewellery, confectionery, clothing and so much more..I bought ultra warm Tasmanian blankets so many candles and soaps and even a wool jumper! All of that said, none of it would be the same without the fabulous shopkeeper Belinda! Be sure to visit Carcoar and say hello I think you'll find it hard to leave without a little purchase or two!! 💚🌺
Carcoar is always a destination for us when we travel to visit our family in NSW. Apart from being the dreamy little town that time forgot - which are the words from Belinda from Tomolly herself - her store is second to none. Stocked with the most amazing high quality products and the old world charm of the original building itself is an experience. I always find it difficult to leave as Belinda's authentic and friendly personality is so welcoming. Visiting Tomolly is always a highlight of our journey. My purchases are always adorned with hand picked foliage and presented beautifully. Recommendations all the way for this darling store and its keeper. x
Visiting Carcoar earlier this year on a trip to the Central West, I found Tomolly, a beautiful emporium full of beautiful decorative and practical items. one of those shops you can linger in and browse for ages. I've followed the online store with enthusiasm ever since. So happy with all my purchases from pillowcases to linen dresses, a fabulous wool blanket and hand made straw broom - everything is top quality, and Belinda wraps your purchase like a special gift. The store is curated exactly to my style! Great customer service, prompt replies and reliable psotage and delivery - its always a great experience.
Don't pass by Carcoar on your way through. This gorgeous little historical town is worth the visit. Tomolly is like a museum full of considered treasures to buy. Each one holding character and value. I may have left with several parcels all beautifully wrapped and scented with their unique spray. Already looking forward to my next visit.
Thank you for your warm welcome during our visit today to your amazing store Tomolly. We left with wonderful treasures and especially enjoyed the honey jumbles on our way home. We will definitely be visiting again soon.
Carcoar wouldn't be the magical place it is without this stunningly curated space. Walking through Tomolly is a sensory journey of textures, scents and beautiful visuals. Thanks for the experience and your warm service, Belinda.
We had a truly lovely stay recently at Hargans Cottage run by the wonderful Belinda "the shopkeeper"" from Tomolly in Carcoar. The cottage is a tribute to both a by gone era as well as the exquisite taste displayed by Belinda in the goods she supplies from her store. On arrival we found fresh produce, baked goods and the fire going which immediately set the scene for a truly relaxed weekend. We would highly recommend visiting both the homewares store as well as spoiling yourself and spending a few nights unwinding at the cottage
