Wrights has a special connection to me as they're Chardonnay was the tipple of choice for our engagement lunch. It's delicious. Love the values and journey of the family and can't wait to go visit the Winery one day!
Beautiful outdoor eating area, although it is right beside the noisy highway. Decent white wines, and great food here, especially the pizzas. Service was friendly and informative regarding the wines.
Wine was good. New staff who did not know the wine, which was odd. Good bread with the wine. Live music was a bonus. The children of the family who owned the winery were ok for me but others were not happy about how boisterous bordering on feral they were.
Pizza was lovely. Service was friendly, and attentive. Pleasant environment with sunny, shady, and even bean bag seating options... We got a discount from grabone.
Loved this place once we figured how the "picnic" menu worked. 1. There's a big self-service fridge where you grab Ciabatta, crackers, cheeses, olives, pesto etc. yourself. 2. Prices for the different items are on a black-board by the cabinet (sorry I should have included a photo). 3. Cutlery is also by the cabinet, grab what you want and take it to the cash register. 4. Order a glass of wine, or a taster ($12 - cheap!!) of 4. There was only one red available for tasting when we were there. 5, Take your wine and "picnic" outside to one of the tables, or eat inside, and enjoy! Food was great, wine was yummy, price was good, atmosphere was great. The French staff member was friendly and helpful. The only downside was the noise from the road, and the building and grounds could do with a cobweb/leaf cleanup.
Lovely family run business. Very casual service as kids learn the ropes (part of its uniqueness). Pizzas are amazing, worth the drive! Love the wines and if you're lucky, there's really good live music!
Fantastic experience. Family friendly. The kids were able to easily play. Gourmet picnics available to build your own. Excellent explanations of wine.
We had an amazing experience when visiting Wrights Vineyards and winery. We spent a nice time and had the chance to taste several wines, the Chardonnay Reserve is outstanding.

We had an excellent time tasting many wines. The staff here are personable and knowledgeable, and we received superb service, and had all our questions answered. I highly recommend you stop by this vineyard.
Great location and well established. Knowledgeable host for our tasting. Good wines. I would have liked to have tasted there more unusual wines and would have been happy to pay a little more to do so.
Beautiful venue and really good wine. Loved their Chardonnay, and generally I dont like Chardonnay. Worth a visit
A fantastic find.. A long established winery that prides itself for doing things differently. What a shame it was raining while we were there. On a sunny day I can not think of a nicer place to sample their wines and share a platter while watching some cooks scratch around. The wines are beautifully crafted.. We filled the boot of the car and look forward to continue enjoying the wine in the weeks to come.
Was really disappointed with our experience. We went here for a wine tasting ($5 for 6 different wines - good start) but we weren’t given clean glasses between each wine, (tasted a red from the same glass we’d tasted white and rose from). We were barely told anything about each of the wines except the names and ‘this is popular at the moment’, and worst of all they were all warm! None of the wines were refrigerated, and even when we bought a glass afterwards we were poured wine from yet another unrefrigerated bottle. Only one member of staff doing tastings for 3 separate groups of people was a bit of a stretch and at the end of the quick 10 minute tasting we learnt nothing about the winery itself! Did we catch you on an off day, the reviews were so promising?
Beautiful setting and a great wine tasting with Alicia (sorry if I spelt your name wrong!), who was incredibly knowledgeable. The wine was delicious too, wish we'd left more time for a platter in the beautiful gardens. Would definitely recommend!
Bought a beautiful bottle of Voigner. Totally quaint vineyard and knowledgeable service. Shame we didn’t get the 10 dollar tasting price of the bottles you purchase. Would’ve bought few more but felt it a bit mean. I’d never of dreamed of buying this wine until I tasted it, delicious.
Organic wine producer in the Gisborne region. We enjoyed the lunch platter of salami, cheeses, crostini and olives. Having tasted a number of wines we purchased a bottle of Cheni Blanc and a bottle of Viognier. A pleasant lunch served by the knowledgeable front-of-house lady Worth a visit.
