The owner Neil was a proper gentleman and chatted with us, sharing helpful local tips. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The other staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. In fact the lady who served us breakfast went totally above and beyond and provided the best service we’ve ever experienced- no exaggeration. When I mentioned that I really love croissants, they made sure they were stocked for breakfast the next morning. The full Irish breakfast was absolutely delicious and freshly prepared. They have other breakfast options too including waffles, vegetarian options and a selection of cheese, fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal and multiple types of bread to choose from. This is not a B&B so breakfast isn’t included in the price but it is well worth the small upcharge. We would absolutely recommend Herbert House to anyone staying in Killarney. Be sure to book directly on their own website for the best price available!

Location is just outside the Killarney National Park. The room was terrific and the bathroom was nice. Very clean. Everybody there was very friendly, helpful, and kind. The breakfast was good and the waffles were excellent (crispy and light with whipped cream and fresh fruit!). Wish we could have stayed longer and if we run the race again next year we will definitely be staying here.

No elevator to get to the 2nd floor, so you're lugging luggage up and down stairs. Your check in window is 3 hrs, which is kind of stressful when you're traveling several hours to get here. Breakfast is a continental breakfast, but no milk for the cereal, and front counter is empty most of the time so I couldn't ask for any. Had a self serve cappuccino machine that worked well, though. We walked to a restaurant that opened at 9am both days we stayed there so we could have a proper breakfast with some type of protein. (Every other hotel offered full Irish breakfasts in addition to continental options like pastries). No hot food at all offered here, so this was the only hotel we couldn't eat at after driving to get there. So after skipping sights on the way to get here in that 3hr window (took us 4 hrs on the road), we then had to walk around for an hour to find someone that would seat us for dinner because we did not have a reservation. There's an electric kettle (like every other hotel), but no coffee or creamer with it so that you can make anything, so you have to walk down the stairs to the sitting area anyway, so what's the point of having them in the room? The convenience factor was removed. The rooms and bathrooms are beautiful and new, though. Rainfall showers, outlets and USB ports everywhere so you can charge your devices, it all looks new, and clean. If you know what to expect, this is a great hotel, but far from a 4 star hotel as advertised.

Location is a short walk to the heart of town, with many nice attractions even closer. We got around just fine without a car. Also, the breakfast was wonderful, with a rotating special each day that added a nice variety to our mornings. The hardest part of our vacation was having to leave The Earls Court House. We will be coming back!

The main light wasn't working but that was a minor issue. Spacious shower wet room which was excellent. But the bedroom was a bit on the warm side given the good weather we had. Better ventilation required here maybe as even with the patio door open there wasn't much airflow through the room at night. The breakfast in a box left outside the door at 07:00am in the mornings was a healthy option of mixed fruit, overnight oats, a yoghurt and a croissant with ham and cheese. It made a nice change from a fry up which costs an extra €10 per person which we didn't do. Four EV chargers at the rear of the hotel which was great but an extra €10 would be charged if you stayed over 1 hour. I can appreciate not wanting folks hogging the chargers but two hours would be fair instead of one. The car park is a bit on the tight side and was full to the brim on both nights. You need to be parking up early to ensure a spot. Very friendly staff, a lovely family oriented hotel with great entertainment for all. Good bar food and pizzeria as well.
