We saw an excellent permanent exhibition in the grim-looking museum. A rich collection of tiles, paintings and sculptures await on four levels, and in the period wing, fortunately for us, we were enchanted by the beautiful pictures of J. Sorolla and his contemporaries. I definitely recommend it!

There some masterpiece I really enjoyed visiting it as it almost empty u have plenty of time and freedoms to visit and take pictures

If you like painting, sculpture, ceramics, etnography, or even arqueology, and you are around Castellón, go there. Interesting local museum with a wide collection. A one to two hours tour.
JL — Google review
A richly rewarding visit. The building is a remarkable piece itself, designed almost like steps so that you can see down to the bottom floor from the top, five floors above. The staff are friendly and Covid-responsible. As a collection of art, too, it shines. There is a giant piece by Gabriel Puig Roda called L'expulsió dels Moriscos, that is stunning to see in person. (Terrible photo of it attached)

The Museo de Bellas Artes de Castellón is a gem of cultural and architectural significance, blending history, artistry, and contemporary design in a compelling way. 1. Architectural Marvel The current museum building, inaugurated in 2001 and masterfully designed by architects Emilio Tuñón Álvarez and Luis Moreno Mansilla, is not merely a container for art—it is a work of art in itself. Its refined form, a warm wooden interior crisply framed by a sleek aluminum exterior, exudes a sense of restrained elegance and modern identity . Over the years, it has earned numerous architectural accolades, including the COACV Prize (1999–2000), the FAD Architecture Prize (2001), and recognition as a finalist for the prestigious Mies van der Rohe Award . 2. Rich Historical Legacy and Collections Founded in 1845 through post-disentailment acquisitions, the museum’s collections encompass centuries of regional heritage. Its holdings include pieces from the original provincial fine arts museum, key donations and legacies from names like the Puig Roda-Alcácer brothers, Juan Bautista Adsuara and Porcar, as well as the notable collection of Zurbarán workshop oils from the Capuchin convent . 3. Diverse and Thematic Exhibition Layout Spread across multiple floors, the museum's thematic layout ensures a thoughtful visitor experience: • Basement: Immersive archaeology and ethnology exhibitions, narrating local life from prehistoric eras onward . • Ground floor and upper levels: The centerpiece ceramic collection—over 800 pieces from L’Alcora, Onda, Ribesalbes, and beyond—offers a vibrant glimpse into Valencian craftsmanship . • Upper galleries: Paintings and sculptures by both regional masters and renowned artists such as Ribera, Juan de Juanes, Zurbarán’s workshop, Sorolla, Benlliure, Puig Roda, and more, spanning the 14th to 20th centuries . 4. Cultural Hub & Amenities The museum goes beyond being a gallery—it is a cultural hub. Its facilities include six exhibition rooms, a library, an auditorium for concerts and lectures, a conservation studio, and multipurpose spaces like workshops and a temporary exhibition hall . Visitors can also enjoy a museum shop and a café, which enhance the overall experience . Moreover, the museum regularly hosts events—guided tours, workshops, film cycles, concerts, and seminars—that actively engage the public and enrich the city’s cultural life . 5. Visitor-Focused Practicality • Location: Easily accessible at Avenida Hermanos Bou, 28, in Castellón de la Plana . • Opening hours: • Tuesday to Saturday: 10:00–14:00 and 16:00–20:00 • Sunday and public holidays (non-Monday): 10:00–14:00 • Closed Mondays • Library and shop hours align with the museum’s schedule . • Admission: Free entry, making it accessible to a wide audience

We especially loved the bottom floor & really enjoyed our visit. Advice if driving, work out where you’ll park before getting there. Not being used to Spanish parking spaces and signs, we found it tricky. Some signs seemed to go into private parking areas under residential houses with closed gates. On inspection they looked in some instances like they could at best house the home owners cars. Yet there was a big blue P outside. No idea what was going on with that. There were free parking options within walking distance if you don’t mind a little exploration. We found this after the fact. So, plan ahead if driving. And check opening hours too. Were there off season in October.

Museum had only few exhibits. Not sure if we would return. We left wishing it had more. We enjoyed the Belles art museum much more.
Abinaya N — Google review
There are only a few installations or exhibits here and it took us about 15 minutes to see the whole thing. Sometimes it seems that, if the artist has a big enough name, simply putting a line on a piece of paper is then considered art. The only thing I liked was the lit multicolored paper lanterns.

Very quiet park in the middle of the city just nearby the "El Corte Ingles" department store. If you're looking for a water fountain, there is one just in front of the Cafe "Barroco", beside the pond. Water is actually fresh (noon in July) and doesn't taste of chlorine (if you've tried the one in Valencia you know what I mean). Hopefully it might help.

The restaurant offers a unique dining experience with a blend of Asian spices and fresh ingredients like vegetables, fish, and healthy meats. Customers love the creativity infused into the authentic Japanese cuisine.
Incredible experience and even better food. Really cozy, with a lot of Japanese beverages as well as imported produce. (Translated by Google) Izakaya are traditional Japanese bars, perfect for sipping a beer or some typical Japanese alcohol, accompanied by a wide variety of tapas at low prices. And that's what chef and owner Sergio Ortega has achieved. Located in the heart of Castellón de la Plana, we find this small restaurant where only 16 people can eat at a time. I say at the same time because that's how it is: all diners arrive at the same time and enjoy a fixed menu. Thursdays are pescetarian, Fridays are meat-based, Saturdays are fish and seafood, and Sundays are mixed. This is only for the interior; the terrace is always mixed. The place, as I've already mentioned, is small, but you don't feel cramped, as the tables are well spaced apart. The restaurant is decorated down to the last detail, giving the impression that you're truly in Japan. But if the decor hasn't transported you to Japan, don't worry; as soon as they start serving you the first courses, the journey is more than guaranteed. Whether it's Sergio or one of the waiters, they explain the dish, its origin, how it's made, the correct way to eat it, and its name. They have all kinds of Japanese drinks, both alcoholic and soft drinks. Without a doubt, a different, groundbreaking, and fascinating experience from start to finish.

(Translated by Google) We had the meat menu; it varies depending on the day you go. The place is small but very cozy, transporting you to Japan. The waiters were incredibly friendly, and they also recommended several Japanese beers. It was a unique experience that we'll definitely repeat. The only mistake they made was that they forgot to serve one of the dishes (the gyozas). (Original) Nos tocó el menú de carne, depende del día en el que vayas es uno distinto. El lugar es pequeño pero muy acogedor que te transporta a Japón, el trato de los camareros fue inmejorable, además nos recomendaron varias cervezas japonesas. 07/09/2024 A wonderful song by El Último de la Fila mentioned the quality and expertise in preparing rice dishes in Castellon, and this restaurant is an example of that. Incidentally, the owner claims that the song was written in his establishment. who know... Food: Fantastic, with freshly caught seafood of the highest quality, perfectly cooked with unbeatable flavor. Service: Indisputable when you go with a local; the attention is wonderful. It would be interesting to try it incognito to see if they maintain their standards. Ambiance: Select, in an area that is changing but somewhat complicated. Once you cross the door, you enter a different world. With closed eyes, I recommend this place and let the house's suggestions delight your palate.

I visited recently and was excited to eat at a Michelin Restaurant. I decided to order the Menú Degustación to have a good impression about their cuisine and it's flavors. I must say that overall the food was ok but nothing out of the ordinary. I noticed the use of soy sauce (or something similar) through out multiple of the 8 dishes which was a bit disappointing as I was expecting to have more contrast between the dishes. I would have liked to have the name of the dishes written down on paper so I could see it multiple times. They just bring you the dish and say what it is and you just remember the main component of the dish. Out of all the dishes, I didn't liked much the bacalao one, I found it quite heavy, and a bit plane in flavor. I also didn't enjoy the octopus with potato, was heavy and lacked more nuances in the flavor. The erizo was okeish but it was kind of a cream with a bit of a weird consistency, in my mouth I felt I didn't know what I was eating. I appreciated they didn't charge me for the appetizer from the beginning and the bread and olive oil. Although it is of course included in the price.

Amazing place where to return and this was already our 3rd time. Food very delicious and highly recommending to try their oldest desert, which is still on the menu since the opening. All in all great experience and will definitely come back when visiting Spain next time.

I am giving TdP 4 stars because the gambas were a little undercooked. However the rest of the food was very delicious and well done. We are clients since the 90’s and we have seen their evolution. Of course we will come back

Casa Lola

Mediterranean restaurant
Casa Lola, an exceptional rice restaurant, is renowned for serving the finest rice in Grao. With a variety of options available, including their delectable senyoret seafood rice with peeled shrimps and mussels, this establishment guarantees an unparalleled taste experience. The rich saffron-infused broth adds a delicate flavor that sets it apart from other places. To complete your meal, don't forget to order their flavorful bread accompanied by their garlic cream called ajoaceite.
One of the best Places in Castellon. Food is amazing and staff is very friendly

We came in 2023 and it was a delightful experience, the food was great, we were eager to return here, and we did now in 2025, but everything changed, the food the service was just ok, as in medium quality for the taste, the atmosphere was so so very loud, i am sorry but you can't eat in that noise, for a restaurant that asks alot through the menu, you didn't offer much in return. I feel sad because i know you did a lot better some time ago.

My boyfriend and I visited Casa Lola in July 2022 and had the BEST PAELLA ever! Super savoury with strong shrimp flavour. The city itself is not very exciting but we will definitely come back for Casa Lola. Also, the staff were super friendly and helpful. A 5-star experience with no doubt.

The best rice in the Grao hands down. I tried several different places, no one came close. The broth they use and that delicate flavour of saffron is just the best. We came back for more because it was so good. We ordered the senyoret rice which is a seafood one where the shrimps and mussels come already pealed. And don't forget to order the tasty bread and ajoaceite garlic cream. Fully recommended. Be warned if you are planning to visit in the evening chances are they won't have broth to serve more rice, either come for lunch or preorder your rice.

One of the best restaurants I have ever been in my life. Yes, it's a bit on the pricey side, but you'll get more than a full, delicious meal. Ordering in english worked okayish, I got what I wanted, even though english is my second language as well. Definitely worth it, the team has the passion for good food.

Over-rated, I would say. Service impeccable, atmosphere very nice - but the food was mediocre. The paella with vegetables was bland. Steak tartar pre-frozen, still very cold, prepared in advance and served without any bread (we had to ask for it separately). I had different expectations considering all the reviews.

Ataula Gastrobar is a restaurant that offers monthly changing menus, providing a great dining experience. While the prices may be higher, the quality of food justifies it. The attentive service and delicious food make it stand out in Castellon. Although some find the portions slightly small, the flavors are well executed. The Chicken Caesar Salad is highly recommended but be prepared for generous servings.
I can't express how much I love this restaurant. In Castellon, it was hard for us to find something truly special—where the food is genuinely delicious and the service goes beyond just "take your food and go." I want to give special thanks to Hanna (Camellia). She was new to the restaurant when we visited, but her English was excellent and this impressed me a lot. She was attentive to details and helped us choose the best dishes. This was especially important to me because I was there with my mom and wanted her to have a great experience. Thanks to Hanna, she did. I hope her manager reads this feedback and acknowledges the fantastic job she’s doing! I will definitely come back to this place. It's now my favorite spot in Castellon!

First time to go on a tasting menu here in Spain and I loved it!! It was a bit difficult to look for restaurants open on a Monday, so I was a bit unsure if this place will be just okay or not. It was a 50% birthday dinner surprise for Eric - just 50% because he had to drive us to the restaurant hahaha. I chose the complete menu, I thought it meant a drink was included. I didn’t except it literally meant 1 type of wine pair for each plate wow!! We started with the bread, then there was cod, and our top favorite which was the tomato tartare, then iberico, then octopus, sea bass, a huge beef rib, and ice cream. After the ice cream we were given sangria with some cinnamon to finish. 10/10 experience!!!

I usually appreciate fine dining restaurants, but here I was a bit disappointed. I ordered the pig ear dumplings with prawns and they had too much ginger for my taste. For dessert I had the caramelized pear tatin, but it tasted not at all fresh, the mascarpone cream was hardened and slightly sour… Not even the waiters didn’t seem to be friendly, had the impression that they didn’t speak english so well, never asked if we enjoyed the food or anything related to our experience in the restaurant. With the locals at the table nearby they were different and even made suggestions for the dishes, but with us they had a rather cold attitude. One experience was enough here, I guess. Will not return. Not impressed at all.

(Translated by Google) Trenkaclosques bar is a restaurant in the heart of Castellón. From the first moment, the cozy atmosphere and excellent service made us feel welcome. We decided to start with three starters to share: the two types of croquettes, the market cuttlefish and the candied artichokes. Each one had a special touch, but the red shrimp and kimchi croquettes, and the candied artichokes left us speechless with their combination of flavors. As a main course, we shared the chicken cannelloni a l'ast, which was perfectly prepared. To close the evening, we tried two desserts: chocolate textures and infused pineapple, both were a delight. The restaurant team was attentive at all times, making sure we enjoyed the experience without being intrusive. Definitely, an experience to repeat. If you are looking for a place with excellent food, a pleasant atmosphere and impeccable service, Trenkaclosques bar is an option that will not disappoint you. Amazing food 👏but the staff was not very friendly, the atmosphere was strange without music and total silence. We were alone in the restaurant during the whole dinner and yet we could not choose our own table. maybe this is the restaurant's policy, maybe because it was a Sunday evening and the waitress was bored. We felt wierd and not welcomed.

(Translated by Google) This is my second time here. The first time I tried a type of escalivada with burrata, which was amazing. For the main course, I want to highlight the burger. The quality of the meat is excellent, and they know how to cook it exactly as you order. At the table, we ordered three burgers with three different cooking times, and you could clearly see the difference between them: well-done, well-done, and medium. The key point is that the well-done didn't turn charred; it remained juicy! The brioche bun is delicious; they add a very rich sauce that's just right. I don't like burgers that ooze and are heavy; this one is perfect! For dessert, the cheesecake is highly recommended. I want to highlight the flavor and texture (if you're looking for something runny, it's not for you). I liked the chocolate one better the first time we tried it, as it was a bit more liquid, not as compact as the last time. In short, a place to come back to, with excellent quality and service. Thank you! ¡Gracias!

The atmosphere is fancy and cozy, decorated in a way that makes you feel warm and drives you into the moment with the fantastic selection of relaxing music. Service's so professional and personal, asking you every now and then if everything is set to your liking, giving recommendations and treating you like a friend, unlike some other places where they lose the spark. The food is so tasty and flavoured, decorated perfectly to make you feel in a 5 star place, and not overfilled, but the perfect amount to leave with a nice feeling, completely satisfied. The only thing to mention might be that, maybe unluckily, my second dish (pork) came a bit cold, just warm enough for the first couple bites, but even so it was really enjoyable. Valencia Airport is a charming hub for both domestic and European flights, making it an ideal starting point for your travels. This compact airport boasts efficient services that ensure a smooth journey from check-in to boarding. Families will appreciate the dedicated gate designed to ease the security process, with attentive staff ready to assist.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 Valencia Airport exceeded my expectations! It’s a small but very efficient airport that made traveling easy and stress-free. From check-in to boarding, everything was well-organized and clearly signposted. Security moved quickly, and staff were polite and professional throughout. The terminal is clean, modern, and comfortable, with plenty of seating and a nice selection of shops, cafes, and duty-free stores — perfect for a quick snack or some last-minute shopping. Wi-Fi was fast and easy to connect, which was a big plus while waiting to board. Baggage claim was fast and hassle-free, and getting to and from the city center is super convenient with metro, bus, and taxi options right outside the terminal. Overall, a smooth and pleasant experience — exactly what you want from an airport. Would definitely fly through Valencia Airport again!

Valencia Airport in Spain offers a smooth and efficient travel experience, making it a convenient gateway to the beautiful Mediterranean city of Valencia. Located just a short drive from the city center, the airport is well-connected by metro, bus, and taxi, ensuring easy access for both tourists and business travelers. The airport itself is compact but modern, which works in its favor—passenger movement is straightforward, and you don’t feel overwhelmed like in larger international hubs. Inside, the facilities are well-maintained and clean. Check-in and security processes are generally quick, with staff who are helpful and approachable. The signage is clear and available in multiple languages, which makes navigation easy for international travelers. Once past security, the airport offers a variety of shops, duty-free options, and dining outlets. While the selection isn’t as vast as larger airports, it covers essentials, from local snacks and coffee to international chains, allowing travelers to grab a meal or a last-minute gift before boarding. One of the highlights is the airport’s manageable size—walking distances between gates are short, which makes connections and boarding stress-free. Free Wi-Fi is available and reliable, a nice plus for those needing to work or stream while waiting. The seating areas are comfortable, though during peak hours, they can get crowded. Overall, Valencia Airport strikes a great balance between efficiency and comfort. It may not boast the largest variety of services, but its accessibility, organization, and smooth operations make it a pleasant starting or ending point for any trip to Valencia.

Small, close to the center, the metro connects to it. I was happy to find a small playground at the entrance. Special line for families, the staff was friendly with the kids (Alisia, hello!). Unfortunately there was no soap in the toilet. Prices a bit high in shops and restaurants.

Valencia Airport is efficient and well located 🚖. Just 20€ by taxi or Uber and 7€ by metro from the city. Quick arrivals, fast access to transport, and smooth security checks for departures. Bright, pleasant, and offers good food and shopping options ✈️
Anthony C — Google review
During my recent trip to Valencia as part of a student study program, I traveled through Valencia Airport. Unfortunately, the experience was not very positive. The airport itself is quite small, which in itself is not a problem. However, the facilities appear outdated and are not well maintained. The cleanliness left much to be desired: the terminal felt dirty, the restrooms were in very poor condition, and there was no soap available. It gave the impression that cleaning and maintenance are not carried out regularly. In terms of services, the airport lacks modern conveniences such as self-check-in machines, which are now standard at most international airports. This makes the process less efficient and more time-consuming. The security check was particularly unpleasant. Staff members communicated only in Spanish and showed little patience or willingness to assist non-Spanish speakers, which created unnecessary stress. Clear communication in at least basic English should be expected at an international airport. Overall, the airport felt neglected and unwelcoming. While its small size could make it convenient and easy to navigate, the poor maintenance, lack of cleanliness, outdated facilities, and unprofessional behavior of staff significantly impacted the travel experience.
Finja — Google review
The parking is confusing. ↘️ When you arrive you have to go to another building if you’re looking for Uber or Cabify. It’s the second floor of the parking garage. ↗️ When you arrive at the departure part it’s insanely crowded even off peak season (like monday, mid/end-October). There will be traffic jams for your drop off, so be aware. 👮‍♂️going trough security is confusing as there’s no sign about what you may or may not leave inside your baggage. So here’s a tip: laptops should go separately in another tray, but they didn’t ask for the plastic bag for liquids. AGAIN: NO SIGN after you’re inside or nothing easy to spot on the outside. You have to use your divinatory power 🔮🤣 also if you speak any other language and ask in English, the police officer will look down at you and be unfriendly (though I mainly can understand Spanish but Valentian is another level that don’t yet master 💁). 🍔🌮🥪 Food wise, well, airport food, airport prices. 8,75€ for a plain bread with some cheese slices 🤡 🌱 Almost no vegetarian option, NO VEGAN 🤔 all in all: this is a small airport, the lines can’t go that far, I would just prefer not to imagine what mess this might be during summer holidays or Christmas.
