Santuario di Santa Maria de Finibus Terrae

Mentioned on
1 list
Monastery
Sights & Landmarks
The Santuario di Santa Maria de Finibus Terrae is a stone church dating back to the 18th century, built on the site of an ancient temple overlooking the town and harbor. It stands alongside the famous 157-foot-tall lighthouse and offers stunning views of Marina di Leuca, with its charming coast dotted with oleanders and Art Nouveau villas. The basilica was fortified in the 1700s as protection against Turkish and Saracen assaults.
Beautiful location, great structures, best view to the open sea and town below. Easy parking. Food places. At the end of the heel of Italy. On a sunny day, what a view. Loved the visit. Would love to stay nearby next time around.

Beautiful location, great structures, best view to the open sea and town. Very nice place , large parking place .The 18c Church with adjacent Monastery is on top of a hill above the town, imo a very average one, both outside and inside. There are benches under the trees to eat. The view of the illuminated port and the nearby lighthouse is truly beautiful. The building with its huge square and long porticoes is truly fascinating. Mystical atmosphere. It is located in a very panoramic point of the city, at the top of the stairs of the Via Francigena which from the port reaches the sanctuary. The lighthouse is very beautiful and very well kept. There is a parking lot and stalls at the top, but separated from the main square. The viewpoint over the port is a must-see during your stay. The column with the statue of Mary is very beautiful and almost rivals the enormous lighthouse right nearby.
Jitendra P — Google review
History embedded. Love how simplistic the church is inside without all the extravaganza.
Mouni M — Google review
This Basilica, named "The End of Land" is built at the southernmost tip of the Italian heel, at a place where the Adriatic meets the Ionian sea. The 18c Church with adjacent Monastery is on top of a hill above the town, imo a very average one, both outside and inside. Many souvenir stalls around further ruin the feeling, making it a very touristy place. From the Church terrace is really a great seas view, but that's it - a max 45 min visit including the time for finding parking which is really an issue in August peak season
Dejan B — Google review
Busy but still a sense of tranquility and spiritual calm. Easy to access all area even for the less able bodied. Massive car parking space . Small stall holders selling a wide variety of goods at fairly reasonable prices . Small but busy cafe selling a good selection of pasties and snacks busy but worthwhile. Take your time to unwind here and treat it all as a bit of a pilgrimage at the joining of the two seas?
Danny P — Google review
The place is nice, especially 280 steps to come up from port. There is a wsterfall that is oprated with water from roman acqudotto. (Occasionally)

You wont find this info in many guide books but there is amazing coastline road - SP358 with some superb views and at the end of this road there is this place. We took SP358 from Grotta Zinzulusa down south to Leuca. Superb views👌Well worth it!

Punta Ristola Leuca

Mentioned on
1 list
Scenic spot
Sights & Landmarks
Punta Ristola Leuca is a stunning rocky outcrop and seafront lookout, marking the southernmost point of Italy's 'heel.' Recently renovated, it offers a breathtaking view of the sea and landscape of Leuca. The area is adorned with impressive sculptures in Lecce stone by artist Mario Calcagnile, including the striking Triptych of Transcendence.
Large free parking place in the street , easy acces by foot , nice place to take photos , no acces to the sea because of the rocks so you need to be very carefully, there is a cave with easy acces that goes down to the sea , no equipment needed, I recommend visiting nearby MUSEO CIVICO DEL CORALLO BIANCO, free entrance

Punta Meliso

Scenic spot
Punta Meliso is a captivating destination located at the bottom of Puglia, between Punta Ristola and Santa Maria di Leuca. The area boasts a rich history dating back to the Paleolithic age, with archaeological remains found in its caves. The village was named Leukos due to its stunning beauty and brightness.
Beautiful views. Not exactly on the tourist route, but if you have time certainly come here.

According to a popular legend, Punta Meliso is a shepherd who, in ancient times, refused the courtship of a mermaid so as not to betray his beloved. There are gates and barbed wire and a private property. Punta Meliso promontory (the ancient Promontorium lapygium or Sallentinum) is the southeastern extremity of Italy — traditionally considered the lowest point of the geographical "heel" of Italian peninsula, as well as the meeting point of the waters from the Adriatic Sea and the Ionian Sea.

(Translated by Google) Reaching the tip of Italy, where the two seas meet, isn't easy unless you're equipped with sneakers/hiking shoes: the rocks are dangerous and sharp. But it's a great satisfaction to be at the tip of our boot. After some local information, I correct myself: Punta Ristola, just a little further west, is the true extreme point of the boot. A "battle" of just a few meters... (Original) Non semplice raggiungere la punta d’Italia, dove si incontrano i due mari, se non muniti di scarpe da ginnastica/trekking: scogli pericolosi e taglienti. Cascata monumentale Acquedotto Pugliese

Mentioned on
1 list
Cultural landmark
Cascata monumentale Aquedotto Pugliese, located in Santa Maria di Leuca, marks the endpoint of the Apulian aqueduct. The Roman column at Punta Meliso commemorates the completion of this monumental waterfall. The surrounding landscape is enhanced by a stunning staircase built in 1939. While it may be turned off during scheduled events, it remains a captivating site to visit.
Absolutely lovely when they let the waters run through and down in the evening. The monument is dry during the day.

We went here to see the waterfall on the date and time listed on the municipal and local tourist board websites, but the event was canceled without any communication. Terrible organization! All the tourists waiting, who like us had traveled a long way to see the spectacle, were angry. Also, don't complain that tourism is moving elsewhere! Learn to communicate! From information on site it seems that this is opened only occasionally in order to clean the residues that inevitably settle on the bottom of the enormous pipes. When this happens it should be a beautiful sight, unfortunately when we were there it was dry. (Original) Si tratta della parte terminale dell'acquedotto pugliese. (Translated by Google) Went on Saturday the 27th, stunning location... the only problem was that without warning, the waterfall wasn't opened due to bad weather (it had rained in the morning... then nothing more). This was inappropriate behavior, because like me, there were many people who had traveled hundreds of kilometers to see the opening. There was no notice on the various websites, neither the Pro Loco nor the waterfall website... and the decision had already been made that morning!!! Poor information!!! Pessima informazione!!!

Monumental waterfall of the Apulian aqueduct in Santa Maria di Leuca

Historical landmark
Nature & Parks
Waterfalls
The Monumental Waterfall of Santa Maria di Leuca, located at Punta Meliso, marks the culmination of the Apulian aqueduct and is commemorated by a Roman column. This impressive structure includes a monumental staircase that seamlessly blends into the natural surroundings. Dating back to 1939, this architectural marvel spans over 250 meters with a vertical drop of approximately 120 meters, releasing around 1,000 liters of water per second directly into the sea.
In the famous Santa Maria di Leuca, the extreme edge of Puglia and in particular of Salento, there are still works dating back to the fascist period such as the monumental waterfall at Santa Maria di Leuca. This is the case of the monumental waterfall, an imposing work, finished in 1939; which boasts a length of over 250 meters and a vertical drop of about 120 meters, with a flow rate of 1,000 liters per second that ends directly in the sea. The waterfall represents the last term of an even more sumptuous work, that is that of the Apulian Aqueduct; the greatest infrastructure of water-drinking supply to European level, constructed during the first decades of the twentieth century; consisting of a series of ‘trunks’ thus allowing water supply to over 300 municipalities. Santa Maria di Leuca Perfectly set between the rock and the Mediterranean maquis, its staircase ends with the Roman column, installed by Benito Mussolini. Narrow between two wide flights of stairs that with their 300 steps allow visitors to admire the top; the work is lit only in particular periods that are concentrated especially in the hottest months of the year.

Dragon Cave

Amazing place. Sooo clean water. Incredibile.
Martin B — Google review
The area is known for its natural beauty and is a popular destination for outdoor activities. The spot is little bit risky, but possible. The spot is worth a visit. Very suggestive and large cave has a rock formation inside which acts as a supporting column of the enormous cliff of the natural "roof" of the cave. There are many boatmen. Continuing the lovers' cave you can swim by entering onto a small beach. Its name derives from its resemblance to the head of a dragon which can be seen when entering the boat on the left wall. The series of caves and ravines leaves you speechless. The cave is so called because the rock inside vaguely resembled the shape of a lying dragon, with its tail on the left and its head on the right. Furthermore. Dragon's Cave, very beautiful like the others to visit on a boat excursion, evaluate carefully and find out about the caves that make you visit .

Torre dell'Omomorto

Historical landmark
Sights & Landmarks
Located on the seafront of Leuca, Torre dell'Omomorto is a beautiful watchtower dating back to around 1500. Also known as Torre dell'Omo Morto, it gets its name from the discovery of bone remains inside. Although in a semi-degraded state and not open to visitors, it offers a picturesque sight for photos from the street.
Its main function was to spot Turkish ships approaching Salento. The shade of the bridge provides fresh air to refresh the body from a lot of sunbathing. Nearby there are two small restaurant bars and a bridge. This is the only true monument of the place .It owes its name to the discovery of human bone remains inside it. It is also called the old tower . The shade of the bridge provides fresh air to refresh the body from a lot of sunbathing. Atypical and powerful tower, it is classified as a hammer tower due to its defensive fortress characteristics. It has considerable dimensions, the escarpment base has walls almost 5 meters thick and a diameter of approximately 16 metres. Inside this, four troughs opened.

Leuca in Barca

The boat excursion offered by Leuca in Barca provides a pleasant one-hour trip in either direction. It is recommended to visit early morning for the best experience. The rocks and caves can be appreciated from the boats, and the boat captain/guide speaks English. The excursion offers an amazing time as visitors get to explore all of the caves and even swim in a dark little cave for 20 minutes. Despite being a short trip, the boat appears clean, tidy, and equipped with necessary facilities.
Nice 1hr boat trip in either direction. Best time to visit early morning. Rocks, caves are best seen from boats. Boat captain / guide speaks English.

We stayed here aboard our sailboat. Marina staff were friendly and approachable. Not much in terms of facilities (basic toilets and showers). Easy to access the town and walk along coast. Must walk along wooden walkway hugging coastline and up the 300 steps to the church and lighthouse at the top.

Well, it's a tourist port. Don't know why you could be interested in it, anyway it's well done and prepared, organized. Lido Azzurro

$$$$affordable
Restaurant
Lido Azzurro is a long-standing beachside venue in Leuca known for its upscale, traditional Italian seafood dishes and stunning ocean views. The restaurant offers excellent service and a prime seafront location with waves right in front of you, providing a great view even at night. Guests can enjoy fabulous desserts and beach lounge music while also having the option to relax on sun beds at the beach. The value for money is outstanding with reasonable prices.
Great surprise. Very good food at great value and ocean view. We had local food that was also special.
Yan V — Google review
Amazing place. Stunning location by the sea and very good food. Friendly and professional service as well. Honestly the best restaurant we tried in Leuca and around so far. Price is also honest
Nicola C — Google review
The environment is really great, a beautiful view, and a perfect location. Regarding the food though, it was our first and only disappointment during our Italian trip. Quantities are not there, neither does quality. The fish is, for most of the menu, not fresh, despite being a fish restaurant, and it shows. The cocktails are very average as well. I wouldn’t recommend, there is much better for the same price in Santa Maria di Leuca. EDIT: the host seems to doubt that we did have dinner here, I do appreciate the chance to provide the pictures (attached). By the way quite unprofessional to say that to a customer). One fish on the menu was indeed fresh as per the menu itself but the rest of the fish are frozen as you wrote yourself at the bottom of each page of your menu on the fish page. It would be more honest to say that, rather than saying that you only have fresh fish (photo attached). It was indeed over priced and clearly not that good. But again the view is very nice. Thank you for the staff for allowing me to confirm what I wrote earlier.

Tonight has been the best experience of our week in Puglia. Absolutely beautiful. From the wonderfully helpful front of house staff who guided us through the food and wine menu and the lovely waitress who sorted my non functioning phone! The beef was sensational, as was the recommended wine - Antieri. Please do try this place - you won't be disappointed. Setting on the beach was a bonus, but not that important compared to the food and service we had which was second to none. I really hope we can return.
Freddie G — Google review
This is a fairly nice restaurant, mainly for its views, decor is very simple, but I felt something was missing to make it a more comfortable place. Perhaps the very bad chairs that are not at all nice to sit on, or the windows looking a bit shabby, needs a bit of care. Foodwise it was all right, but nothing spectacular, room for improvement.
Zdenka F — Google review
MUST GO! By far best restaurant in Leuca. Excellent service, got a spot right at the seafront without asking. Waves in front of you and also at night great view. Food was excellent, the sea bass a bit to dry though. Dessert is fabulous, whatever you choose. Great beach lounge music in the background. Also has a separate seating area for drinks and small snacks only. Offers a limited number of sun beds at the beach. Value for money outstanding as reasonable prices.

Visiting Santa Maria di Leuca and decided to stop in for lunch as the restaurant was so inviting. We were not disappointed! The view was spectacular and the food was delicious Best seafood during our 2 week travels in puglia - the mussels in a lemon broth, the octopus with potatoes and the mixed seafood mix were outstanding! The service was lovely - smiling and proud of the delicious food they served! Don’t miss this spot

Excellent experience. Dinner for two people. We shared 1 starter, 1 pasta and 1 grilled food. Excellent taste, the service was fast and very kind. Location quite and plenty of parking space around which helps. Absolutely recommended. Everything also very clean

Came here due to the good reviews, but we were severely let down. It's just a bad restaurant cosplaying as something fancy. The pasta was mediocre at best, the fries were old and bland, and the fried seafood was just dry as can be. We were also the last to receive our food out of the all guests, despite arriving and ordering before the majority of them.

Service could be improved by smiling more and being happy to serve and make.people happy...the simple pasta dish was very good...the grilled sword fish was bland and dry...seemed baked instead of grilled and not from fresh fish marinated and grilled! Care is needed to truly have the honor of feeding customers good food prepared fresh, especially with the high prices charged...My opinion for improvement.

If you are looking for sea food - look no further than Fedele. Excellent quality, fresh as can be with a view of the harbor of Santa Maria di Leucca. The staff is very helpful and nice. The quality of the fish is excellent and you will find a daily changing “piatto del girno” which everyday a different pasta with seafood. The wine list is fair Lunch is served ling into the afternoon. And this is a “fish only” place so spare yourself the trouble asking for bolognese or lasagna as this is not a place for it.

I can put my hats off for this local restaurant in the heart of Santa Maria Di Leuca. I ordered more than 8 dishes The location is so convenient, it's right by the sea, there is two car parks near by and one just in front of the restaurant. You can choose to sit outside or inside. There is accessebility for disabled. Food choice range from grilled to fried local fish and you can choose catch of the day. I chose 4 fishes, two grill and two fried . It was amazing. The staff are supper polite and clean , very high degree of hygiene and they give very good advice on food choices . They are available at your table very fast . This is very good place to spend lunch and dinner in Santa Maria Di Leuca. I can highly recommend this restaurant as a trusted place for seafood lovers

Very good and fresh seafood. A little more expensive but worth every penny.

Fantastic Salento restaurant! Delicious food, great seaview and professional, friendly staff make this the place to go for your top food experience in Santa Maria di Luece. Even the top rated Malvase white wine was delicious. The portions here are bigger than most other restaurants locally, the mixed seafood course of six different small dishes at €18 is enough food alone for your dinner.

In despite of all the other ratings I have a very clear opinion about this place, based on our experience. The Food: it‘s good, not excellent, fresh and a bit pricey. The atmosphere: it‘s a bit like a cantina with neon-lights and the „final touch“ was missing to us. The Service: horrible, but that‘s just for part of the staff working there. We never have had such an experience, when we asked if that „one table“ is free (we haven‘t had a reservation, but spotted a table without reserv.-card). One of the service guys looked at us angry, annoyed raising and waving his finger like a teacher and saying to us in an broken english/italian mix: you don‘t tell me where to sit, I decide where you can sit. At this point we usually should have gone, but we were to hungry. Also Service No-Go‘s: - after Dinner we had to ask for Lemon Papers for fingers, we were really „cashed“ without a smile, thank you or anything. So avoid this place if you do care for nice service and Ambiente. Clear „Go“ for the Kitchen!

Food was above average to my taste. There was a service mishap of getting a dish other than what I ordered, I do understand that it happens. Lot of local people though, which makes me wonder that the food could've been really good but it's just not for me. Portions are really big so watch out.

The quality of the food and fish is outstanding, with generous portions that truly impress. The atmosphere is very welcoming, and the place is spotless. Our waitress, Victoria, was exceptionally helpful and friendly, which made the experience even better. Highly recommended

We were not expecting anything special when we came here for a lunch during our beach day, but it was super disappointing. The pasta was not fresh, the tuna and sword fish were not cooked properly and not seasoned at all, the lasagna was ice cold. It was not cheap, and the food quality was poor.

Tasteless, cold, and expensive food. Service is bad. Prices are slightly above average, quality is significantly below average.

The most incredible seafood experience! We came for dinner and had a tasting course menu of endless dishes of fish. Each was super fresh and delicious. Such a unique and fun experience, definitely a must when in Santa Maria di Leuca.

Very good food for a nice price. €35 per person for a (fixed) menu consisting of a extensive antipasto, primo ( pasta and risotto with seafood) , secondo ( grilled fish and gambas) and a sorbetto. Friendly and fast service.

WOW. What an incredible experience. The restaurant is right on the water with beautiful views. Tons of seating and extremely fast service. They had a fixed menu with sooo many dishes. The food just kept coming and coming!!! Incredible flavors, absolutely delectable. Finally, it was extremely reasonably priced, especially coming from the U.S. Wish I could give more than 5 stars for this place!

My favourite fisch restaurant near Santa Maria di Leuca. Try the fish menu but dont think you got already all starters (Antipasti) when you finished 5 plates. There are more to come! All dishes of very good and fresh quality. Efficient service. I go to have dinner there for 5 years. Always very satisfied. Dont forget to book your table well in advance. In August open also for lunch. I love the rosé wine the Chef recommends. Take the bottle home If you cant finish there! Parking available. Watch the sea, sunset or fullmoon from the garden.

Really excellent spot to eat. The view is incredible - we booked ahead and requested a table with a sea view during sunset - and really enjoyed the fixed menu, which included a huge array of different seafood. The owner was incredibly warm as soon as we arrived and the service was great throughout. We particularly enjoyed the saxophonist who played throughout our meal!

Authentic and Original place especially for a dinner. Expected more from the food. I ordered the catch of the day, cost me 54 euros but wasn't worth it. A bit dry despite the great sauce with it. My wife ordered the lobster pasta, was pretty decent for the price. Overall, it was a good experience with very friendly service. Just don't expect top notch food exp.

We've been driving along the East Coast and decided to stop at Santa Maria de Leuca for a dinner. We've chosen the place based on maps reviews and would like to recommend it to others. Very interesting location under the old bridge, right by the sea. You sit there and see and hear waves break at the rocky shore. We arrived early and were lucky to get a table for two as it got full as we were leaving the place. Both seafood pastas (orechietti and square spaghetti) were very good as well as read wine.

So this region boasts with amazing food! Grab a meal here in your adventures. Get the starters, skip the pasta(I don’t eat pasta), get the seafood and the lobster. Drink some wine, as much as possible. Get dessert. I don’t like pasta but it’s great here I just don’t eat it. Also ask for muscles in white wine that are not on the menu... they are amazing 😉 also there are very cute cats! 🐱

La Conchiglia is a delightful dining spot that offers a mix of traditional Italian flavors, making it a must-visit when you're in the area. During my visit with a large group, I found the service to be efficient, and while there were minor hiccups with drink orders, the overall experience was enjoyable. The pasta was well-prepared, though some might find it slightly too al dente for their liking.
I’m giving this a 5 for the pizza. I have been all fish and seafood while in puglia after 4 nights in Napoli so pizza was not on my radar.. this was my last night in the area so I tried the diavola and it was amazing.. the house red was also excellent.. this is a must stop when u r in the area

Had a great meal on our last night. My only down point was the aggressive clearing policy the second your plate looks done ! The Clams and Muscles were fabulous, the pizza was excellent. A few grilled vegetables to make the meal.
Jonn S — Google review
Relatively good priced restaurant for what you get. I had the quattro stagionni pizza and it was just nice, not extraordinary. The service is alright, one of the glasses was dirty and they happily brought us a new one. The terrace on the roof is cozy to sit at and eat at night.

We stopped here for a pre-booked lunch with a group of 40 people. Serving was fast, food and prices were ok. As always the pasta was too much al dente for my taste. There were several errors in the service of the drinks, mainly issues in the internal communication between the person who noted and those who served.

Fantastic food and atmosphere combined with great service. I highly recommend you dine at Hostario del Parsi if you’re in S.M. di Leuca. Food was authentic and home made with several specials of the day. Our little Italian vocabulary was compensated by the staff who helped us through the menu and wine list in perfect English and provided us with some nice suggestions. Wish we had been 4 instead of just 2 so we could have tasted even more dishes from the menu. Reservation made via Google was a first for me and it worked to perfection! Lastly don’t be surprised if you see a fox hanging out - he’s very calm and keeps to him self.

Typical pugliese food; raw prawns, pasta frutti di mare and good wine. The service excellent except for the reception, you have to book in advance. The environment is beautiful, figo and grapes trees in a typical south Italian patio. Prices really well compare with the mare lungo ones. I could repeat here or come directly here if in Leuca
Enrique S — Google review
The food is delicious, the atmosphere very nice and the service really good. I would have rated 5 stars. However, we ordered a grilled fish, the waitress told us she had the perfect one for two people. When the fish came, it turned out to be 1.3kg and would have easily been enough for 4. I don't mind paying good money for good fish (and it was excellent), but we felt ripped off, as you obviously pay per size and that was just a gross misjudgement on their part. We told the waitress and she put the blame on the chef. A truly great restaurant with excellent food, but nevertheless left a bitter aftertaste.

Two small things, only house wine (cheap and ok) and mixed salad a little dull. Father been to Scotland, ask him it’s a funny story.

The son's expertise regarding local delicacies is impeccable. The food itself is mouthwatering, complemented perfectly by an impressive selection of reasonably priced wines.
It was a cold November evening in Salento, luckily the fireplace was lit in the main room. A wonderfully cozy restaurant with very friendly service. We had the dishes from the menu of the day, tagliatelle with horse ragù, ravioli filled with pumpkin and ricotta and spezzatino misto with porcini and polenta. Everything was excellent, we will definitely come back here again!

The food was by far the best we’ve had during our 7 nights in Apulia – absolutely delicious, incredibly high quality, and surprisingly low priced. The atmosphere is lovely, and the owner as well as one very kind waitress made us feel truly welcome. Unfortunately, the other two waiters never asked if we needed anything and seemed to ignore us from the moment we arrived until we left. We only received menus after asking, and guests who arrived later were served before us. I’ve gotten somewhat used to this kind of experience when traveling, and I can understand that people sometimes act the way they do because of the environment they’re used to. Still, it was a bit disappointing – especially if you happen to be a person of color, as the difference in treatment can feel noticeable. That said, with such outstanding food at this price, it’s definitely worth a visit – and with good service, it must be an amazing experience overall

Really nice setting and atmosfere. Great food and friendly service. Combined with fair prices... I definitely would recommend this place to anyone... only thing to keep in mind... if you're looking to eat fish, there are plenty of other places to go to, in the harbour. Here you'll find the typical salentino land dishes.

So where can I start ? All the menus are only in Italian, I think the place is tourist friendly enough to have one in English, no one in the service is capable of translating the menu correctly. We tried the raviole and the pasta with a meat ball. Only 5 ravioles for 14€ ? It'd be okay if it tasted good but, to be honest that's not the best quality, I can't recommend this restaurant, 2,50€ per person from the service. The men's toilets door can't close. For dessert, 3 tiramisu for 7€ each, 1 spoon of mascarpone, cacao and coffee that's all. High deception for a trattoria in Italy. I strongly recommand to look for other restaurants. + The prizes are too high for what you eat.

Boccaccio 'la poesia in un barattolo' is a unique dining spot located in the south of Salento near S. Maria di Leuca. It has garnered attention from various magazines and blogs for its exceptional offerings. The ambiance resembles a traditional "fraschetta" Romana, where food is served in wooden boxes, evoking a sense of nostalgia akin to homemade meals by grandmothers.
Wow! What an amazing place! I stand by every good comment people have said about this place, because this place is different in a good way. The food is superb and the atmosphere is wonderful. Really helpful and caring staff as well. Absolutely loved it, definitely highlight of our trip! Greetings from Estonia

The young team was already exhausted by 20H30 and unable to communicate with us, our Italian is poor so we tried English, Spanish and French to no success except with the owner: he made a lyrical introduction of his business (and became passive agressive when after hearing 3 times in a row that he could not speak French I dared saying that English was perfect with us). Cold starters took 40 minutes to be served, papers plates (!) recycled jars for glasses, bottles and lamps shades (why not) but individual doses of salt, no pepper available and the house brand of unremarkable olive oil to accommodate very average dishes. None of us was willing to try their desserts as our appetite was not there any longer… The owner kindly replied to me and all I have to say is thank you but you have got the wrong person, I came with my family

This place was supposed to be the highlight of our trip, but was only a disappointment. The atmosphere is very nice and unique, but the toilets were a disaster.. doesn’t lock, doesn’t flush and the door is paper thin. They waiters are stressed and non attentive. We got our order messed up multiple times. I wouldn’t call this place a restaurant, more like a place to order some cold cuts and cheese with wine. The food was terrible. Pasta I had was sour, small portions. Very poor menu. Wouldn’t recommend. Ended up eating at a small food kiosk right outside the restaurant, because we left hungry.

Salento Airport, also known as Brindisi Airport, is the second international airport in Puglia, Italy. It offers bus connections to the city center and other airports in Foggia, Taranto, and Bari. The airport serves various international destinations such as Zurich and Paris. It is well-designed with clean facilities and ample amenities including two lounges outside of the security checkpoint. While there are limited food options after passing through security, there are good dining choices before check-in.
A small, straightforward airport where everything works just fine. Prices are reasonable, and by Italian standards — it’s actually very well organized. Travelers from northern countries might find a few things to complain about, but that’s more about local quirks than the airport itself :)

Small and easy to access. Most arrival staff not helpful. They do not appear to like Americans. Public toilets do not have seats. Departure staff was helpful and nice.

Airport does not have enough seats in departure lounge for number of flights. No duty free for tobacco or alcohol either. Toilets clean and tidy. Only a restaurant x 2 and shop after security. Priced expensive as you would expect. Would consider flying from here again.

To use the public transport to the town center the Bus (1,20 Euros — tickets are available atthe cafe inside the terminal) goes ONLY every 30 minutes ! In case you take a cab / taxi to the town center or main railway station, a 8min trip, they will charge you an incredible 25 Euros ! But they might ask you to pay 30 Euros. That is a real rip off !!! Returning with the Bus to the terminal the bus route first takes you to the Ferry/Cruise Ship Sea Terminal on the other end of town.

A smaller international airport in Puglia serving destinations like Zurich, Paris. The airport is very clean and well designed and has a lot of amenities. There are two airport lounges outside of the security checkpoint. There are many good food and drink options, before check in but only one after the security section. When arriving you will need an euro for a handle cart or you will be out of luck. There is ample parking and normally run 5€ for an hour. The attendants are helpful if you need any assistance. The first flight normally leaves at 6:25am to get you to the major airport in FCO and it takes an hour. My only complaint is that when arriving, I am always pulled over for a random inspection 😂
