Kuta Beach

Beach
Outdoor Activities
Kuta Beach is a bustling sandy stretch in Bali, known for its vibrant atmosphere and stunning sunsets. It's a popular spot for surfing, especially for beginners due to the soft sand bar that makes wipeouts safer. Surf schools and instructors are readily available along the beach, offering lessons and board rentals. Away from the main beach area, Kuta is also famous for Waterbom, an acclaimed water park.
The beach is so pretty. I witnessed the best sunset of my life here. It’s very clean and not too crowded. The water is also clean. I had a picnic here and it was totally worth it. Go in evening to get the best out of the beach. It is not too commercialised. If you had south you will get lots of bars and djs but in the north side it is very peaceful and silent. We just sat on the beach and watched the sun go down and submerge into the ocean. One of the best moments of my entire life. It’s a must visit if you are in Bali.
Iqbal K — Google review
Lovely beach walk with beautiful sculptures along the way. The water isn’t super clear, but there are plenty of nice spots to enjoy, plus restaurants and coffee shops around. It can get a bit busy, but you’ll still find quieter corners to relax.

Kuta Beach, Bali Kuta Beach is one of Bali’s most famous and vibrant coastal destinations, located on the island’s southwestern coast, just minutes away from Ngurah Rai International Airport. Known for its long stretch of golden sand and powerful surf, Kuta has evolved from a quiet fishing village into a lively hub of tourism, offering something for every kind of traveler. The beach is especially popular among surfers, beginners, and sun-seekers. Gentle to moderate waves make it an ideal spot for surf lessons, and several surf schools line the beachfront. Visitors can also enjoy beach walks, volleyball, or simply relax on the sand while watching a breathtaking Balinese sunset — one of the most beautiful in Indonesia. Kuta Beach is surrounded by a wide range of restaurants, beach bars, and cafes serving both local Indonesian delicacies and international cuisine. The area also offers vibrant nightlife, with numerous pubs, clubs, and live music venues that come alive after sunset. For those who love shopping, Beachwalk Shopping Center and the local art markets nearby offer everything from souvenirs and handmade crafts to designer brands. Despite its bustling atmosphere, Kuta retains its charm with friendly locals, street performers, and a laid-back tropical vibe. Lifeguards are stationed at key points, making it relatively safe for swimming, especially during calm tides. Kuta is also well-connected to nearby attractions such as Legian, Seminyak, and the sacred Uluwatu Temple. Whether you’re a surfer chasing waves, a traveler looking to experience Bali’s energy, or a family seeking fun by the sea, Kuta Beach offers a perfect mix of adventure, relaxation, and culture. Address: Kuta, Badung Regency, Bali, Indonesia Best time to visit: April to October (dry season) for sunny weather and ideal surf conditions.

Beautiful long beach, great for surfing. I like the long walking path or just the beach as you can take long walks here. Sadly, I see some working horses too - heartbreaking to see the poor treatments of animals. No excuse for animal abuse, when people can use motorbikes instead.
Simona M — Google review
It’s a lively and beautiful beach with soft sand and great sunset views. The area can get crowded, but the atmosphere is fun and full of energy. A good spot to relax, surf, or just watch the waves.
Lazizbek E — Google review
Kuta Beach is absolutely stunning! 🌊 The waves are perfect for surfing, and the atmosphere is lively with plenty of beach bars and restaurants nearby. I loved taking long walks along the shore and soaking up the sun. A must-visit spot in Bali! 🌴🏄‍♂️
Dav A — Google review
Love the natural beauty of this beach. There are several access points, opportunities for surfing is plentiful, and eateries located along the beach. Just be aware, most locations will charge you for using tables/chairs and there are differences in prices depending on who you ask and which beach you are in located. Many individuals will come accross your path trying to sell you something, and ask you if you need a ride somewhere. Just be prepared for the abundance of tourists and what comes along with all that.
Andrea A — Google review
Crashed in Bali. 2 days unplanned trip around Kuta Beach cos of J* delayed and I missed my plane to Busan on that day. Landed without planing in Bali and enjoying the day with so much worries, and vanished with it's venomous sunset view of Kuta Beach.

Nusa Dua Beach

Mentioned on
3 lists
Beach
Outdoor Activities
Nusa Dua Beach is a serene stretch of white sand lined with upscale hotels and resorts, making it an ideal destination for families. This area in Bali is renowned for its water sports and activities like diving, snorkeling, and parasailing. While it may be far from the main areas of Bali, the beach offers calm waters near the shore due to coral reefs that break the waves. Visitors can expect a relaxing and safe environment to unwind or enjoy various recreational activities.
Nusa Dua Beach is a relaxing and still natural spot, perfect for unwinding. It’s quiet, clean, and has a wide stretch of sand, making it feel spacious and safe for visitors. While there’s still the occasional piece of plastic trash, the overall environment is well-kept. A great place to enjoy calm waves, fresh air, and peaceful surroundings.
Phoebe D — Google review
A quiet but nice beach, mostly accommodating to hotel guests who are staying along this beach. There are restaurants as well along the beach, for enjoy the view with some food and drinks. Visited in April 2025.
Paul C — Google review
Probably the nicest beach for swimming, close to main areas of Bali, easily accessible and plenty of beach side bars and cafes. Avoid hotel outlets as they will charge you exorbitant prices.

Nice Beach, loving it. Definitely, I will plan again to spend more time during my next trip to Bali on Nusa dua beach. Clear blue water looks mind-blowing. Amazing.
Brijesh M — Google review
Nusa Dua Beach is absolutely beautiful and one of the highlights of our trip. The water is calm and inviting, and the beach itself is clean and well kept. What really made it special for us were the sunrises. Waking up early and walking down to the gazebos to watch the sky change colors was unforgettable. It is the kind of place that feels peaceful and safe, where you can truly relax and take in the beauty around you. The little lookout spots with gazebos added such a unique charm and made it easy to just sit back and appreciate the views.
Kyla S — Google review
Wonderful beach. Calm water when the tide is out. Many resto there. Walk to the pula Nusa Dharma. Pay only the parking fare here.
Sierly S — Google review
Great beach with clean water. Beware any potential "Rips" season pending. Deck chairs can be hired in some locations 50k R per chair. Drinks and food offered.
Peter T — Google review
Beautiful & clean sea, it's not too crowded maybe because it's a private beach - perfect for a chill & relax

Museum Pasifika Bali

Mentioned on

Art museum
Museums
Museum Pasifika Bali is a family-friendly museum with 11 pavilions dedicated to various genres of Asian-Pacific art. The collection includes over 600 paintings, featuring Pacific Ocean cultures' art spanning centuries, including tikis. It also showcases the works of influential European artists who thrived in Bali in the early 20th century, such as Arie Smit, Adrien-Jean Le Mayeur de Merpres, Theo Meier, Matisse, and Gauguin.
One of the best museum for anyone who likes painting. In this museum you can find a very nice collection of Indonesian painters and foreign painters who had created their artworks in Indonesia. Don't miss this treasure if you are interested in art, particularly painting
Roozbeh — Google review
The museum has a good collection, and it was quite a pleasant stroll overall. HOWEVER, the lighting was really poor, many artworks didn’t shine the way they should and ended up losing their spark. Some paintings also didn’t have proper credits to the artists, which was a bit of a pity. I did appreciate the introductions at the beginning of each room, explaining the artists and the theme. It was really nice and helpful. Still, lighting plays such a big role in appreciating art, and I really hope the team improves this part. On my last visit, which happened to be during Independence Day, one of the final rooms was closed for a group event, so I couldn’t finish my tour. 😔
Erica M — Google review
It was our pleasure to go around the museum. My 4,5 years old daughter was also really excited about gallery. 11 different rooms with artist from all over the world.
Daria M — Google review
The museum has a very beautiful and large collection of mainly potrait & landcape paintings from of contempary artists both from bali & the pacific region. The paintings curated were in my opinion very good as i love impressionist paintings. They also display statues mainly of balinese subject & an entire section dedicated to pacifice islander woodcarvings. Had a wonderful 90 minute visit here.
Abdul A — Google review
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 An Unforgettable Experience at Museum Pasifika, Bali! What a stunning collection! Museum Pasifika absolutely blew me away with its amazing, incredible, and beautifully curated art. The paintings are simply breathtaking, from vibrant traditional Balinese pieces to impressive works from across the Asia-Pacific region. Every room is a journey, and the architecture of the museum itself adds to the charm, blending so harmoniously with the spirit of the island. The artworks and sculptures tell deep, rich stories, and I found myself completely immersed. Honestly, some of the pictures and installations are just world-class, it’s like stepping into a living, breathing canvas of history and culture. I do wish there had been a guide or audio guide available; the staff were quite absent during my visit, and a little more context or narration would have made the experience even more enriching. That said, the serenity of the space, the quiet beauty, and the sheer quality of the exhibits more than made up for it. Truly one of the best museum experiences I’ve had. Highly recommended, don’t miss it!
David S — Google review
do not come if you want to learn, you can come only if you got too tired to explore the beauty of Bali. The collection tag line is a marketing gimmick, yes, the first maybe... but for sure not the only nor the largest. Maybe the largest if you count all the beads of the bangles the collected. if you are looking to learn about art or the culture, forget it! they understand no culture, no art, just marketing gimmick. the earliest collection they have was from 1918, and they said they specialised in asia pacific painting. please... try again oh dont forget the possibilty of misidentification of painting technique!
Hendrikodito — Google review
Great collection of cultural art from a range of artists around the world. Great way to visualise different art styles and interpretations of a variety of cultures within the context of Indonesia.
Shan D — Google review
Wow... the Pasifika Museum is one of the largest museums in Asia, located in Nusa Dua, Bali. Here, I can clearly see paintings by some of the world's best artists. This place is a must-visit destination for tourists visiting Bali. Entrance tickets are very cheap, only USD $7 (IDR 100,000) for foreign tourists and USD $5 (IDR 70,000) for local tourists. If you love art, you must visit; this place is highly recommended.

Waterblow

Sights & Landmarks
Park
Waterblow is a popular tourist attraction in the southernmost area. It is known for the towering splashes, up to 26 feet high, caused by waves crashing against the reef during high tide. The site also offers a scenic view of sunrise and pleasant morning atmosphere with sounds of sea and birds. Although an entrance fee is required, visitors are recommended to pay it during opening hours to support business continuity. However, there may be some trash that comes from the sea that needs cleaning.
It is a tourist attraction that has the characteristics and uniqueness of a natural phenomenon, namely waves that rise up to 8 meters high due to hitting the rocks. When a large wave hits the rock, an explosion of white foam expands into the air, rising to present a beautiful sight, making you excitedly wait for the next wave.
Ion R — Google review
My daughter and I took a late afternoon WALK here. Got some nice photos of the surrounding park and sunlight shining through the trees. I was here 5 1/2 years ago, and was able to walk to waterblow with easy access. Now, they atre charging small fee, it is only 25k, however, they never used to charge and now, I have paid my tourist tax of $15 au dollar, and still they want money. Turned around and walked back.
Tarah S — Google review
Loved it here. So calming despite the forces of water. Its definitely a sight to see for yourself. Look at the tide times for the best experience. The gardens leading up to this are also beautiful, with other beaches on either side. A shopping mall with loads of various restaurants as well. Could spend a day around here easily.
Mandy R — Google review
My Experience at Waterblow Nusa Dua 🌊 I visited Waterblow Nusa Dua during my trip to Bali, and honestly, it was a nice little adventure! I went around noon — super hot time of the day — but luckily the place wasn’t crowded at all. It felt calm and peaceful, which made the heat a bit more bearable. From the parking area, I had to walk quite a bit to reach the Waterblow spot. The walk was okay though, with ocean views and sea breeze along the way. When I got there, the view was amazing! The waves crashed against the rocks and splashed up into the air — not super high that day, but still really cool to watch. Even though it was scorching hot, I actually enjoyed strolling around and taking in the scenery. The whole area is clean, well-kept, and perfect for just relaxing and enjoying nature. Before heading back, I grabbed a fresh coconut water — it was a bit pricey (well, it is Nusa Dua 😅), but it was so refreshing after walking under the sun. Totally worth it! Overall, Waterblow Nusa Dua is a nice place to visit if you’re around the area. It’s not an all-day kind of spot, but definitely worth a short stop for the view and experience. Just remember to bring sunscreen, a hat, and maybe come earlier or later in the day if you want to avoid the heat.
Nasha — Google review
It is a nice and interesting natural spot at nusa dua Bali. You have to buy an entry ticket at the entrance of the closed area, but ask first whether there is axtive waterblow or not at that time as not always is visible. Laat time the see was very calm and there was no waterblow at all.
Peter K — Google review
It was a scenic and exciting place to visit. We had a great time taking photos and just watching the waves crashed into the rocks.
Franz M — Google review
A breathtaking natural attraction! The cliffside view is absolutely stunning, and the force of the waves crashing against the rocks creates the water to shoot up dramatically — truly a sight to see. A must-visit spot in Nusa Dua for nature lovers and photo enthusiasts.
Fuda F — Google review
We visited Waterblow Bali, and both locals and foreigners are required to pay an entrance fee — locals pay 15,000 IDR and foreigners 25,000 IDR per person, while children aged 0–6 years old enter for free. It’s definitely cool to see the powerful waves crashing dramatically against the rocks — a unique natural sight worth visiting. However, it’s quite disappointing to see a lot of garbage around that hasn’t been picked up. It’s unfortunate considering there’s an entrance fee, yet the area doesn’t seem to be well-maintained. Overall, a nice experience for the view, but I hope they improve the cleanliness.

Geger Beach

Public beach
Outdoor Activities
Beaches
Geger Beach is a stunning stretch of white sand located near Nusa Dua. Unlike other nearby beaches, the sea here is generally calm, although it can get rough in the evenings. Visitors may have the chance to observe local seaweed farmers at work along the shore. The coastline features strong currents, but the Nusa Dua reef acts as a natural barrier, creating shallow and gentle snorkeling spots around Tanjung Benoa and Geger Beach.
Geger Beach is such a beautiful beach! The water is clean, and it’s surrounded by stunning cliffs. I really enjoyed swimming here. The sand is also clean! Access to the beach is pretty easy, especially for a beach with such clear water. There are also vendors selling food and drinks at very affordable prices—not overpriced like at other beaches.
Kezia ( — Google review
Geger Beach had such a peaceful charm to it. Compared to some of the busier beaches, this one felt more relaxed and calm, which we really appreciated. The sand was soft, the water was clean, and the vibe overall was laid back without the noise or chaos that you sometimes find at more crowded spots. It felt like the perfect place to spend a slow, quiet afternoon. I’m sharing pictures with landmarks throughout our Long Beach walk!
Kyla S — Google review
The best beach in this area in my opinion. The entry per person is 5k. For another 50k you can get a sunbed. There are a few cafes nearby with affordable prices. P.s. There are plenty of dogs. They are frineldy and won’t pay attention to you unless you try to communicate with them. You can bring dog food from the nearest supermarket and feed them.
Polina K — Google review
This is one of the rare places in Bali where you can swim comfortably without surfing. The sea is calm with no waves, the beach has wide, fine and beautiful sand. There’s an entrance fee of 5.000 IDR per person. A sunbed and umbrella cost 50.000 IDR. There is also an affordable restaurant on-site. The coctails offer great value for money. For food, I definitely recommend the chicken satay, seafood satay and fish fillet.
Merve — Google review
Beautiful beach!!!! The water is so clear, lots of activities, it was 12-13k entrance and we paid 30K-50k for a beach umbrella and chairs. Food and drinks were a good price. Definitely recommend and will return.
M — Google review
This was one of the most beautiful beaches we saw in the south of Bali. It’s not crowded. There are a few small beach cafés that offer very affordable sunbeds. And the stretch of beach was overall super clean.
Daniel — Google review
This beach is clean and quiet. Place to swimming and tanning. I came at 9.30am, not much people at that time. The sun already feel so hot at 10am. Easy access and park, though not spacious parking area. Need to pay for vehicle. There are several resto/warung lokal which affordable than luxury resto. In the area of luxury hotel, such as Sofitel. I think this one of the reason why it's still clean. Bad things is there's no proper public facilities--toilet and bathroom for changing after swimming.
Selly H — Google review
This was them most clean beach with clear water which i saw in this area. Better than Nusa Dua. Also when there is lower tide, the waves stop far away, so is good for swimming. There ia entry fee 5000.

Mengiat Beach

Beaches
Mengiat Beach in Nusa Dua, Bali is a popular choice for families and kids due to its calm waters and relaxed atmosphere. The beach offers a nice place to unwind, with clear water ideal for swimming around 2pm when it's calmer. Visitors can rent beach beds for a reasonable price and enjoy the nearby restaurant, Warung Yasa Segara. The area is also known for surfing and other beach activities like kayaking and snorkeling.
Beautiful beach to swim, great place to relax or sunbathe. Surfing lessons for beginners , snorkeling and other water sports. Reasonably priced food and drink bought to your sun bed
Chris G — Google review
Absolutely Beautiful Beach Morning dip was very refreshing Haven't been in the ocean for a long time, so this was very nice. Apart from walking on coral and soft sand to get through the water, it was great otherwise.
Tarah S — Google review
There is something missing every time I visit Nusa Dua beach. I am not a fan. It used to be much more grounded, around the time when Waterblow was still approachable from close proximity. While the sand is bright and the beach is spacious, there is no dogs here. There is a stretch nearby luxurious hotels that prohibits dogs, to my disbelief when I visited relatives who stayed in one of them. I hope there is nothing sinister behind their absence. There is a decent playing areas for tourist and locals here, which is better than other stretch that feels very pretentious and soulless. There are good number of parking here for both cars and motorcycles.
Buren — Google review
A peculiar yet impressive beach in Bali—what stood out most was the sea, shimmering in a unique silver-blue hue. It’s a more relaxed spot compared to the busier beaches like Kuta or Sanur. The vibe is balanced, with a good mix of local and international visitors.
Fuda F — Google review
Very nice beach with sunbeds and small waves. Perfect for swimming and enjoying the sun. The water is a little bit dirty, but you can safely swim in it. Also, the beach itself is pretty clean. We enjoyed 2 full days here. There are also some options for food or you can just order via grab. The beach is also easily accessible.
Andreea-Ioana S — Google review
Amazing chill relaxing place. We came for a day pass. Price is $20 AUD per person includes pool access, Sun lounge, beach towel and $10Aud back to spend on food or drink

Come here to find beautiful sunrise in Nusa Dua. You can entry by free and pay Rp 2.000 if you bring motorcycle or Rp 5.000 if you bring car. The crowd is not that busy
Jeremy N — Google review
Compare to Geger Beach, this beach is wayyy better! Entrance fee is zero for visitor but you pay IDR 10.000 per car. Beach is clean , white sand, water is calm, perfect for family with young children. Beach lounger costs IDR 100.000 for whatever length you want to stay. Tip: bring your own picnic rug. Save some money. Non alcoholic drinks are expensive, bule price.

Amazing place in Nusa Dua where different religious buildings in one place side by side. Hindu temple, Christian church, Buddhist temple and Muslim mosque. There are moderate dress codes to enter the temples ( we visited the Hindu temple and Buddhist temple ) needs to cover legs if you wear short pants. We visited during weekday and not many people there. It is free to visit ( no entry fees).
ATGC — Google review
It's nice to visit a place in Bali where all religions coexist in peace and harmony. All major faith and religions are represented in one strip. A mosque stands next to a Catholic church, next to a Buddhist temple, next to a Protestant church next to Hindu temple. This place is a testament to Bali's promotion of respect to all faith and religion.

A worship complex of all religion in Indonesia. You can pray at a place according to your religion. This complex is huge with more huge parking. Many jumah prayers on Friday noon. Avoid the time if you want less people. This place is also nice for pictures. We love it
Elly A — Google review
This is a place where religions co-exist, you have a mosque, Buddhist temple, Catholic Church all on one site, and you can visit each of them and pray or just explore. At the temple, women need to be covered up so wear a long dress. I was given a wrap as a had on a summer dress that was above my knees.

Pantai Sawangan

Beach
Outdoor Activities
Pantai Sawangan is a hidden gem on the beautiful island of Bali, offering visitors a serene escape with its stunning blue waters and soft golden sands. This secluded beach is perfect for those seeking tranquility away from the bustling tourist spots. While there are some waves ideal for surfing, it may not be suitable for snorkeling or swimming during certain times due to rough conditions.
Went this afternoon for a couple hours and really enjoyed it. Yes, you need to pay an entrance fee, but there wasn’t any trash on the beach so I don’t mind. Not sure if it’s always this clean, but it was today at least! The coral reef or rocks a little ways out from the beach blocked the waves so that we could just laze around in the clear water and relax.
Stephanie A — Google review
The beach is conditionally swimmable. For now it is dug up, there is construction equipment, a lot of seaweed on the bottom and stones on the shore. The sand is good and there are no waves, like on Nusa Dua. There are many better beaches nearby. This one is not very good yet.
Елена Н — Google review
Few years ago, it was a calm, beautiful beach with striking rock formations and few bigger hotels nestled in nature. Today, the cliffs have been bulldozed, and bulky breakwaters now surround the shoreline. The once-scenic views are permanently ruined, leaving a patch of sand encircled by concrete. Ongoing resort construction—some developments of monstrous scale—has consumed what little remained of the natural landscape.
Ko K — Google review
Its a beautiful beach. Worth a walk along. Steep hill or cliff top hotel access. Quite a bit of work going on building protective groins off the beach - heavy machinery
Swifto — Google review
Great place to come to relax. Right now there's a lot of construction going on at the beach. Usually this place is pretty quiet.
Bryan M — Google review
One of the most beautiful and secluded beach in Bali with striking blue water and soft golden sand. It was relatively clean and quiet. We went there on a Sunday afternoon and there were very few people there (for a beach this gorgeous) except for the ones staying in Hilton. Perfect for swimming. No entrance fee, parking was 10K for a car. There was no public bathroom so I went to Hilton to wash up and ordered a glass of wine. There was only one warung on the entrance, so come prepared.
Hanny J — Google review
Sawangan beach is a public beach located next to the hilton nusa dua hotel. Entrance to the beach location is good and avaiable car and motorcycle parking facilities. There is no entrance fee, only paying a car park of 5,000 IDR. Sawangan beach is a white sand beach and clean, very fun swimming at this beach, not too many visitors on this beach. Available food stalls, dressing rooms and showers on the beach.

one of many hidden cool beaches in Nusa Dua, Bali guys, beach with white sand and clear water, if you want to surfing this recommended place, only 5k IDR for car and 2k IDR for motorcycle you can entry Sawangan Beach, and if you guys come here throw trash in its place, if you don't have it, take it first, throw it in the trash, the beach is still clean and clear, the surrounding conditions are still awake

The venue features a traditional Indonesian pavilion and is ideal for events such as weddings, conferences or exhibitions. Visitors can enjoy the calming atmosphere of the open-air venue while admiring its scenic views of the sea.
Came here knowing nothing. We thought this is an open public space so we just come in. Surprisingly we didn't meet anyone 😂. We then know that this place is more suitable for event or wedding rather than only chill. But we still go to inside & had a good experience sitting at a chair that facing sea. Because there is no one, the place is very calm, very chill, and very suitable for healing

My goodness, that happy and all giddy feeling inside when you enter a super wide place with so much sunshine allowed, green grass, a wide open crystal clear sky and a beach at the end of your sight, can you relate? That's what Taman Bhagawan gives you when you visit it. Just come and see for yourself. Also they have a huge-huge parking lot. Perfect spot for jogging. Situated in the 5 stars hotel region, this place will bring you to the different atmosphere of jogging. The green lush of the garden with many balinese ornamental statue unconsciously ease your fatigue while running. There is a parking lot with security guard here so you no need to worry if you bring your vehicle here. There are also toilets in some spots.

Cucina

Italian restaurant
Mediterranean restaurant
Seafood restaurant
Cucina is a modern dining spot with a comfortable ambiance that offers brunch, a full bar, and Wi-Fi. The restaurant's Executive Chef, Daine Gilbert, takes pride in sourcing the finest Fine de Claire oysters from Marennes, France. These oysters are known for their cultivation process in shallow claire basins, resulting in maximum juiciness and a sweet, fruity flavor when served fresh with just a hint of lemon.
I had a wonderful dinner with my family here. The food was sumptuous and the waitstaff were super attentive and cheerful. There wasn’t many people when I was there and the food was served promptly. Highly recommended if you are staying in the resort.
Melvyn L — Google review
I had high expectations for Cucina based on the many positive reviews, but unfortunately, the experience didn’t quite live up to the hype. We opted for the tasting menu, and while the food itself was good, the service left much to be desired. The pacing was extremely slow — it took over 3 hours to complete a 6-course meal, which would be more understandable for a 10–12 course experience, not six. Some dishes also arrived lukewarm, which was disappointing given the price point. For a bill of 2.75 million, I expected not just quality food but also impeccable service and attention to detail. Sadly, it fell short on both.

Dined in as a group of 6 for dinner. We arrived late at the restaurant due to traffic but was fortunate that the restaurant still keep our reservation. Love the ambience of the restaurant, clean, spacious and nicely done up, restaurant only opens for dinner. Food: With the exception of the carbonara which I feel lacks the taste , overall the food was tasty. Love the thin crusted pizza and kids meals were of the right portion. Service was fine… Total cost was nearly IDR 1.5mil with taxes (1kids meal, 3 main), Pricey but given the location (restaurant located in Sofitel Nusa Dua Bali) and the atmosphere, Overall experience was pleasant.

We tried the Italian restaurant at the hotel and overall had a nice experience. The food was pretty tasty, and the atmosphere was pleasant, making it a good place to enjoy a meal. However, we found it to be quite expensive compared to what was offered, which was a bit disappointing. On the positive side, the staff was generally very nice and helpful. The hostess was fantastic, she always assisted us with reservations and allowed us to choose where we wanted to sit, which we really appreciated. Most of the service team was friendly and professional, but on one of the nights, we had a male waiter who came across as a bit arrogant, which slightly affected the experience. Overall, a nice restaurant with good food and a great atmosphere, but the pricing and that one service interaction could be improved.
Marex C — Google review
How does this only have a 4.1 rating? The restaurant is lovely - everything from the staff, to decor, open kitchen, and the food. The lasagna stole the show. The ribeye was also cooked perfectly. The complimentary starter bread paired with olives and dipping oil were very nice. We ordered the lasagna, ribeye, mashed potatoes, baked spinach, stuffed spinach cheese pasta, and seafood platter. The spinach and mashed potatoes were the least impressive perhaps needing salt or pepper, otherwise everything else we ordered was great. The environment is very relaxing, with an upscale feel. Reservations are highly recommended.

11th August 2025. Had a wonderful meal at Cucina with great service by Wira who was very friendly and informative. Food was very good and I had one of the best seafood spaghetti marinara dishes here. Atmosphere outside is beautiful. Service quick too. Highly recommend.

We were looking forward to this Sunday brunch and wanted to compare it to the Mullia Solie which was TOP notch. However it was disappointing 😞 the food choices was limited and the quality was just not there We got the drink package Beer and cocktails were limited to local spirits which gave me a massive headache . Im sorry to say the food was a 2 rating. The total bill was $170 aud with drink package with $30.aud tax .1739.980 rupiah total. . Service good expect when the bar tender spill the drink over my nephew shirt when we were sitting at the Pool bar . Very average lunch !

The Cafe at Mulia Bali

Buffet restaurant
The Cafe at Mulia Bali offers an elegant buffet-style dining experience with a wide range of Asian and Western cuisines. The menu includes Indonesian, Chinese, Indian, Japanese, and Italian dishes. Seafood lovers can indulge in gigantic oysters and a variety of sashimi. The dessert section is impressive with a huge variety of choices. While the buffet has maintained its quality over the years, some visitors noted that certain seafood items were not as fresh as expected.
Upon entering The Mulia Hotel Bali, one is instantly greeted by an atmosphere befitting a five-star luxury establishment. The greeter at the lobby was notably courteous and provided clear directions to the restaurant. Although valet parking was not available at the time of my visit for dinner, the hotel offers an integrated parking area with a lift that facilitates a seamless and comfortable route to the restaurant. The restaurant itself is quite spacious and the host was amicable. The all-you-can-eat buffet presents a diverse array of cuisines, including Indonesian, Korean, Thai, Japanese, and Western options. A highlight in terms of quality was undeniably the Japanese cuisine, which stood out with its fresh flavors. However, an area that could benefit from improvement is the BBQ seafood section. During my visit around 9:00 PM, some of the shrimp and crabs were no longer fresh and had an unpleasant odor. The service was impressively attentive. Even without prompt, the staff promptly tended to table clean-up and offered to refill drinks. One waiter, in particular, Mr. Wahyu, was exceptionally helpful. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the dining experience. As the saying goes, "You get what you pay for," which aptly describes the value and quality at The Cafe Restaurant.

Best breakfast buffet that we’ve been to. Great variety freshly made and coffee very great too. Recommend the cheesy garlic naan and chocolate crepes with icecream. Would be great if they had slight changes each day to keep things different for longer stays. Overall fantastic.

Had the chance to dine at The Cafe @ Mulia and am awed by the selections of food and the space in the restaurant. As usual I went for the sashimi and I would say it's decent enough, but I would like to give a shout-out to the beef sirloin at the grill section, where they grill on the spot upon your request, the meat is tender and you get to request the done-ness to your liking. My wife especially loved the cooked salmon in creamy sauce and the garlic naan accompanied by the butter chicken. Both of us were impressed by their selections of desserts and ice creams. They have these roasted walnuts which are from the cheese section, but we ate it with our ice cream, salted caramel especially went super well with the roasted walnuts. They even gave my wife a small cake as a kind gesture for us celebrating her birthday. Thank you The Cafe for that :) However, I was informed that the drinks will be charged separately from the buffet price that night, not sure if it was part of the buffet price on other days and why otherwise on the night we went. Nevertheless we went ahead with two different options between my wife and me. Overall, it was a pleasant experience and we would dine at The Cafe @ Mulia again.

Soleil at Mulia Bali

$$$$expensive
Mediterranean restaurant
Pan-Asian restaurant
Soleil at Mulia Bali is a chic seaside restaurant known for its Sunday Brunch, offering a wide selection of appetizers, seafood tower, live grill stations with premium steaks & seafood, and breakfast a la carte. The restaurant also features daily chef's specials with innovative preparations of seasonal ingredients. It is a favorite gathering spot for those who appreciate great food, service, and ambiance in a stunning seaside setting.
We stayed at the Mulia in Nusa Dua . With our one week stay package , we were given free brunch at Soleil. We happened to enjoy their Mother’s Day special brunch . The brunch spread was elaborate . They had vegetarian starter options too . Since we don’t eat red meat or sea food, the staff went out of the way to make special dishes for us . The food was simply delectable . There was a wide selection of desserts too . We liked Soleil so much that we went once again to try their Ale carte menu . It’s a great fine dining place. One of the best restaurants we ate at during our stay in Bali . Highly recommend it

Speechless! The staff were absolutely incredible. We had a booking at 7:30 but arrived at 7:00, and they kindly let us in early. The view was stunning and the place was spotless. Maha was super friendly and attentive he explained everything so well and helped us choose the best drinks and desserts. The restaurant manager also came by to check on us, which made the experience even more special. Truly outstanding service and atmosphere! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️we would definitely be back.

We had heard how great the Sunday brunch was and it definitely didn’t disappoint. We got the alcohol package and the staff ensured we always had a drink. The food was amazing with so much selection of hot and cold food. Our waiter Danny was sensational, he was so friendly and helpful and made sure we had enough food and drinks. The chocolate martini was amazing.

First off, going with the negative. I travelled over from Sanur on my motorbike and was directed to the only available parking which was underground. I informed the gate keeper I was dining at Soleli for Brunch and I was given a ticket and then parked in signed Guest Parking area. Upon leaving, i had to present my ticket and was told I was being charged for parking. I informed gate keeper yet again, I had been to Soleli for Brunch and he wanted to see my receipt, otherwise was going to charge me. I showed him my picture of the paper cost and my online credit card statement showing payment and he then informs me that there is a 3hr maximum Free Parking limit and i was over by 30 minutes. The Brunch is open from 11am-3pm which is 4 hours. I paid for the additional 30 minutes of parking, otherwise I was not going to be allowed to leave. At what point, is it fair and equitable when you spend over 1.1 million rupiah on a sensational Brunch and at no single time, was i informed of the need to pay for Parking, either 2 months prior when I made the reservation, or on the day. Mulia Resort may need to consider this in future. On a very positive note, my Brunch was outstanding. I didnt have a plate today, that was not of a high quality and or tasted lovely. The grilled octopus and then the steak frittes were sublime. This is a combination buffet and ala carte, which i very much prefer to straight buffet option and the plate serves are half sizes, which allows for choices. The wait staff are all to be commended for doing a wonderful job and there service was much appreciated. In the end, was a wonderful Brunch which I am happy to recommend to others, but the parking situation was not an ideal way to finish off my first visit to the Mulia Resort.

We had a birthday dinner at Soleil and really enjoyed it. The food selection was wide, they offer a mix of Mediterranean, Western and Asian cuisine. I went for the fried duck, which was actually delicious. The vibe was relaxed and our server Indra was super friendly and checked in often to make sure everything was great. He had such a positive energy. The team also surprised us with a birthday cake, live singing and guitar.

Thank you Soleil staff for making our anniversary dinner so special and memorable. We were not guests of the resort but booking was easy online. The service was so kind and accommodating - so happy to be seated by the window, staff were very knowledgeable about the menu and helped me take photos. The menu options are so vast and there is an ipad with photos to help you decide. Food presentation was beautiful. I wasnt sure how they were going to make pineapple rice look pretty or how they could elevate the taste of a classic but they certainly wow'd me on both fronts! The prawns were too raw for us and they dealt with this swiftly and were very apologetic. Most restaurants dont care but staff here go above and beyond to make sure you are having an enjoyable experience. Every dish we had was delicious and staff surprised us with an anniversary dessert which was so sweet and was the cherry on top of a fabulous evening. Thank you Soleil Team!!

KWEE ZEEN Nusa Dua

Asian restaurant
KWEE ZEEN Nusa Dua, located at Sofitel, offers an incredible selection of breakfast options including noodles, Indian cuisine, dumplings, pastries, cereals, fruits and make-your-own smoothies. The friendly staff provides a warm welcome and the lunch menu is extensive with a variety of multicultural options. Guests praise the excellent quality and variety of food as well as the extraordinary setting. The chef and servers are highly accommodating.
The breakfast buffet is massive and the choices were amazing. Favourite was the pastry section and the Indonesian section. Staff are lovely and very helpful, especially Sinta who was very sweet and helpful and sorted us out with anything we requested straight away.

I’d put 5 stars if kerupuk ngga masuk angin and my husband doesnt spot a big rat on the floor. Staffs are friendly, food display is great but taste is OK. We paid 1.2 million (include tax) for buffet dinner on Chinese New Year 2025. Dessert is amazing , sadly didnt have enough space in my belly to eat them all. Bravo for pastry chef team!

We had dinner last night at Kwee Zeen. All dishes were so delicious. Udang Jeruk Bali salad with streamed jumbo prawn and pomelo was refreshing. Iga Bakar Konro was delicious, beef ribs was so soft and good combination with sweet soy sauce and sambal. Mud crab dish was so yummy. Crab was really fresh and I love the sauce so much. However, it’s a bit disappointed with the some stream rice in the bowl were dry. We mentioned to Ria who looked after us and she was sincerely sorry and offered to serve us the new bowl but we almost finished the dishes so we told her it’s ok. Ria was rectify the issue and provided us complimentary dessert instead. We didn’t know this until we paid the bill. Chef suggested dessert was so unique and good combination. I love it so much. Overall, we were very happy with service and food. Highly recommended Kwee Zen. Thank you Ria for looking after us.

Another wonderful restaurant at Sofitel. We had breakfast here each day - what an incredible selection of options. Noodles, Indian, dumplings, pastries, cereals, fruit, make your own smoothies plus so much more!!! We were always greeted so friendly every time we went. It was so lovely. The lunch menu (which had just been updated) was so extensive so we never had to eat the same thing twice as we were on voucher. Such amazing options and again so many multi cultural options. I had risotto one day which was unfortunately too much for me and couldn't finish it. The staff thought it was because I didn't like it (absolutely not the case) but the fact they took such Pride in the food and the satisfaction of their guests was so nice to see. We had dinner here twice - both times we opted for the buffet - fabulous!!!! Everything was so tasty. One night was a special night were there was a show with traditional dance and music - it was beautiful. We also took part in the cooking class which was wonderful. Our son took part too, it was a fun family activity. Every staff member again was fabulous

Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua boasts of a beautiful setting right by the beaches of Nusa Dua. Although we were staying at the Mercure Bali Nusa Dua, as Accor plus members, we were able to enjoy discounts at Kwee Zeen, the in-house restaurant of Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua. As we were feeling a little peckish this evening, we decided to drop by Kwee Zeen at Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua, to try out their buffet dinner this evening… As for the variety, it is rather extensive as well. You’ll get the Chinese cuisine and dim sum selection as well as Indian Cuisine offerings along with a small selection of Japanese sushi as well. We love the large dessert section of fruits, desserts and ice cream. One of our favourite section is definitely the live-cooking station where we had several servings of stir-fried beef noodles…yum! One of three restaurants at the Sofitel Nusa Dua, with an extensive range of cuisine. We had breakfast & chose the local Balinese menu for dinner. The breakfast buffet was insane, with so much to choose from. Dinner was atmospheric under the lanterns outside. The service was exceptional (as it has been all through the resort). Special commendation to our attentive waiter tonight, Adi Gun. Well done Sofitel!

During our stay at the Sofitel Hotel, we dined at KweeZeen for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is a wide variety of food, all of which was quite tasty. The staff were very friendly and were always quick to get us a high chair for our daughter. Special mention to Sinta who was our waitress during dinner. She was very friendly and helpful, and even organised for us to get our deserts take away as we were too full to eat at the restaurant. She also poured my beer perfectly!

Ikan Restaurant, Lounge & Bar at The Westin Resort Nusa Dua, Bali

Indonesian restaurant
Fish restaurant
Seafood restaurant
Ikan Restaurant, Lounge & Bar at The Westin Resort Nusa Dua, Bali is a vibrant oceanfront seafood and Indonesian restaurant that offers a high standard of food. The restaurant provides a spacious and beautiful ambiance with exceptional service. Guests can enjoy delicious dishes such as the Barramundi Sambal Bongkot while taking in the stunning beach view. In addition to its culinary offerings, Ikan also features evening entertainment including live music and fire shows.
If you are in Bali tonight, it’s worth trying out the final night of Travelogues of the Archipelago: Chapter 2 - Java & Sumatra menu, an extraordinary collaboration featuring celebrated chefs Raviel Sidik and Norman Ismail. I throughly enjoyed all my meals at Ikan restaurant during my stay. Ambience was lovely and everything I ordered was delicious, well presented and portions adequate. Service crew was very friendly and attentive, special kudos to Alina who remembered returning guests and their dining preferences. Ikan restaurant is the main reason why I will stay at the Westin Nusa Dua the next time I return to Bali. Two thumbs up!

The food at the restaurant was absolutely fantastic, with each dish expertly prepared and bursting with flavor. I particularly enjoyed the seasonal ingredients featured in the menu, which added a fresh touch to the dining experience. However, I wasn’t particularly impressed by the cocktails; they lacked the creativity and balance I was hoping for. On a positive note, the ambiance of the place was inviting and aesthetically pleasing, creating a comfortable setting for a meal. The staff members were exceptionally friendly, attentive, and eager to ensure that our dining experience was enjoyable. Overall, it was a memorable outing despite the cocktails not meeting my expectations.

Ikan’s got range — from full meals to finger food, and a menu that shape-shifts between lunch and dinner like a culinary werewolf. We came hungry, left happy (and slightly full of tacos). We had the tacos twice — because once wasn’t enough. The fish was dressed up in a tangy little number that made us feel fancy. Calamari? A little oily, but still crispier than my last vacation plans. The burger? Massive. Like, “skip breakfast tomorrow” massive. Now, the real highlight: 1-for-1 happy hour from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Not 3:59. Not 3:58. The bartender probably has a stopwatch. Respect. Great spot if you like good food, strict drink timing, and tacos that might haunt your dreams in a good way.

Truly enjoyed my dining experience at Ikan! I ordered the river prawn rissoles and the slow cooked short ribs. The flavors were amazing and I enjoyed every bite. The manager was extremely inviting and helpful in deciding on my final dishes. My server Mudi was also very nice and helpful. The atmosphere was perfect looking out at the ocean. I wanted to love the cocktails. I tried a few different ones during my stay, but they didn't quite hit the mark for me. Overall, an enjoyable experience and I would do it all over again! Thank you for the memories.

Dining at Ikan Restaurant was one of the highlights of our trip. The food was already excellent, but what made it truly memorable was the service. Our server, Lucky, was fantastic and made us feel so welcomed and taken care of. To make the night even more special, they surprised us with a cake that said Happy Honeymoon, which was both thoughtful and delicious. It felt like such a personal touch and left us smiling long after we left. The atmosphere is elegant yet relaxed, the food is full of flavor, and the service went above and beyond.

We had a wonderful experience at Ikan Restaurant. The food was delicious and the service was exceptional. Lucky and Yoga took great care of us and are both assets to the Restaurant! Both were friendly, attentive, and made the evening feel extra special. We could not have asked for more. The setting is beautiful, right on the beachfront with sweeping views of the ocean. To top it off, there was live music from the Indonesian band Spectrum Ent, which created a lovely and relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommended for a memorable dining experience in Bali.

Didn’t really enjoy our dinner here. First thing we were told as we sat down was we should order quick or else there would be a delay. Waiter came by within 5 minutes to ask if we were ready, it felt very rushed and transactional. Didn’t really feel like being near the beach, more of a loud music/party vibe. Food was disappointing, the smoked mushroom/lentil dish was very sweet, we couldn’t eat it. Tiger prawns were cooked well but didn’t taste much of the glaze. Noodle soup was way overpriced for such a basic version. Surprisingly for a seafood-forward place the beef skewers were the best dish. Also they wouldn’t sell us lobster at the menu price, instead it was per 100g making it 4x the menu price. Add to this a he high price and I recommend going off-site for food here.

Nusa Dua Pizza

$$$$affordable
Italian restaurant
Pizza restaurant
Nusa Dua Pizza is a popular spot known for its quick service and thin, crispy pizzas. The firewood meat supreme pizza is a favorite, with generous toppings like ground beef, ham, green pepper, onion, olive, and cheese. Despite its unassuming appearance, the place surprises visitors with delicious wood-fired thin pizzas that are perfect for sharing. Customers also rave about the variety of toppings available and the affordability of the portions.
“I had an incredible dining experience at this restaurant! Their pizza is simply the best I’ve ever had, with a perfect crust and delicious toppings. The green salad is fresh and crisp, and the chicken sandwich is absolutely mouthwatering. The service was fantastic as well. Highly recommend!”
Hassan R — Google review
We had high hopes for this place, and honestly the food was OK. The garlic bread - Wasn’t toasted, the bread was falling apart and it was just a light brush of garlic paste/sauce and just melted cheese. Very bland. Pasta - The carbonara we couldn’t finish as it was just the taste of “cream” or “milk” didn’t have any carbonara taste that you’d expect. Also very bland. The bolognese - This was nice, credit to you guys. We enjoyed this pasta The Pizza - Wasn’t cut properly, which isn’t a big deal, but the flavour was just fine. Nothing wow or bad, it was just a “pizza” and something to eat. Chicken Burger - Barely any chicken in there, it was also very basic. Overall, 3/5 as I am sure they tried their best, you can tell by the bolognese, but the others were extremely bland. We had to add a lot of salt and pepper. Maybe it was just a bad day in the office, the reviews seem amazing, hence my 3/5 rating.

Wow, the taste is genuinely good! This restaurant is exactly on the side of Ngurah Rai Bypass Road. It’s not a big restaurant but you may like the taste of their authenticity of pizza. They are using wood furnace to make their pizza. The pasta is good, the butter garlic bread is also a must try! I can tell an Italian loves the pizza after I saw he smiles when he ate it! And I approve!

Italian food done right! The Pesto with Penne was excellent - perfect al dente pasta. The Chicken Calzone and Meat Supreme pizzas were also hits, with fresh and generous toppings. And the Beef Lasagna was delicious too!

I never dreamed I'd find such delicious pizza in Bali. The dough is so thin. That's why I can eat the pizza in one go, even though it's surprisingly big. The restaurant has a large open-fire pizza oven, and the restaurant is built around it, which shows the owner's enthusiasm. Unfortunately, I couldn't order the Quattro cheese😭 because "habisnya"

Had the lasagne and garlic bread tonight and was pleasantly surprised. I enjoyed it. Previously had Hawaiian pizza, huge and delicious. Only issue was that it arrived a bit messed up in the box, buts that's not the fault of the restaurant.
Tina W — Google review
Very good pizza from a wood burning oven. I cannot say it is the best in Nusa Dua or Bali since I have not eaten at the other pizza places here, or that it was the best I ever had, but it is decent. The servers were not exactly warm, but they were not cold either. More like an “auntie” vibe. I was not bothered by it. We had the meat supreme, fries, chicken nuggets, and bintang. I would go back if I were in the area.

Very busy and not the most helpful service. I ordered a chicken burger and was given a beef burger, and it was tasteless 🤷‍♂️ when I mentioned it, they just said sorry.. The calamari was absolutely disgusting. Thick batter with the tiniest string chewy bits of calamari I have ever seen. 🤮 The prices were high, especially for the poor quality food you get. I would try find something better.

The only downfall was the breakfast buffet, more higher quality western options would be better Overall a great experience and we will be back!

Mr Bob Bar and Grill Nusadua (Second Outlet)

$$$$affordable
Restaurant
Mr Bob Bar and Grill Nusadua (Second Outlet) is a classy watering hole and cafe known for its ribs, grilled chicken, and fish in a comfortable setting. Visitors enjoyed the delicious pork ribs, steak, and tomahawk, as well as the sauteed veggies. The restaurant provides mosquito repellent and hand sanitizer at every table, with an option to request local mosquito anti-itch oil. The service was praised as terrific by patrons.
Had a great meal here. Loved the ribs but all dishes were very good. Great service and even got a ride home in the free shuttle! Definitely recommended.

Came here for dinner and was most impressed. Nice decor, clean and welcoming. The staff are nice and friendly. My partner had the ribs and I had the snapper. Both were very nice. They knew it was my birthday and surprised me at the end with a sing a long and cake 🎂 I would definitely visit here again.

We enjoyed so much that we came 2 days in a row! Service is excellent and the staff super kind and warm people! Thr RIBS are simply amazing, for my rib-fan husband but also for myself as a non-usual fan. The meat falls of the bones and the recipe of the sauce is insanely good. Also, very good prices!!! I highly recommend to try it out

Yes this place will cost a bit more than most of Bali but the service and food was an absolute wow factor. 10/10 on all aspects. The nasi goreng bebek goreng (fried rice and roast duck) was delicious and the signature pork ribs were phenomenal. It's a cosy and clean restaurant with very attentive and helpful staff.

Service was beautiful, but I had unfortunately got food poisoning from the steak.. the taste of the sauce and the steak in general was great but I may have just got a bad batch..

Mr Bob's is fantastic. They have a great menu with a wide selection to choose from. They specialise in Rins and Tomahawk steak, which is from Australia. Our recent visit today was only for chicken skewers and 2 cocktails at lunch. We are looking forward to our next dinner which we plan for tomorrow. We can't wait to get stuck into their food and more cocktails. We highly recommend Mr Bob's Bar and grill.

Tokimeku Japanese Restaurant

Temporarily Closed
Japanese restaurant
Sakura Japanese Restaurant at the Melia resort is a must-visit for an exceptional dining experience. The Angus Beef Tobanyaki and Chicken Terriyaki are consistently top-notch, while the fresh sashimi and teppanyaki dishes are equally delightful. The service is outstanding, with friendly and efficient staff like Mia, Gita, Mitha, Frida, Tutnik, and others ensuring a memorable visit.
Sakura is an absolute gem when it comes to Japanese cuisine in Bali. I would recommend this spot, especially if you have the all-inclusive package, as it can be a bit pricey otherwise. But for those with the package, it’s an experience not to be missed, especially if you love authentic Japanese dishes. I thoroughly enjoyed the sashimi and ramen. The ramen, with just the right hint of spice, was delightful and added a lovely kick to the meal. The signature Yuzu cocktail was probably the best cocktail in the entire resort. It was refreshing, flavorful, and absolutely perfect to complement the meal. The service was impeccable. My server was incredibly kind and attentive, and the food arrived quickly, which made the entire experience that much more enjoyable. The decor and ambiance truly give off an authentic Japanese vibe, making you feel like you’ve been transported straight to Japan. For those on the all-inclusive package, this is a must-try dining experience that is sure to impress.

During our visit to Shakura Japanese Restaurant at Melia Bali, we were warmly greeted by our waitress, Mitha Lily Ayu. The welcoming demeanor and excellent menu explanations set the tone for a delightful dining experience. We started with the spicy prawn tempura and salmon roll, both of which were of amazing quality and absolutely delicious. For our main courses, we had the sirloin and black cod. Each dish was prepared to perfection, showcasing the restaurant's dedication to high-quality ingredients and exquisite flavors. Overall, our dining experience at Shakura Japanese Restaurant was exceptional, thanks in large part to the attentive and knowledgeable service from Mitha Lily Ayu. We highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking to enjoy top-notch Japanese cuisine in Bali. It was so good that we returned for the same meal.

Out and out 10/10 experience! Absolutely can't praise this resturant enough. The service was super friendly and very efficient. Our server Intan was amazing 👏. The food was all delicious from the appetisers to the mains and too the desserts. Stand out was the Gyoza, sashmi/sushi platter. We had all inclusive package so it was al included including Japanese beer and cocktails. Probably the best food we have had in the resort. A must visit on your stay. Shout out to our other servers Mitha, Edy and Suci. They all made the experience even better. Update went again two days later and still amazing 👏

Visited this restaurant 3 times during our week long visit. Angus Beef Tobanyaki was consistently top class. Chicken Terriyaki was equally special. Unequal service including by Mia, Gita, Mitha, Frida and Tutnik and many others. Let's not forget the chefs and bar staff working expertly and efficiently back of house. Great cocktail in the gin served in the small coupe glass. Suntory whisky always pleasing. All of this and more thanks to the All Inclusive package. Great team work, Sakura. Thank you!

What an amazing restaurant, absolutely delicious food, great service and just simply the best. The beef was nice and tasty, not chewy at all. The prawns in the dynamite sauce, what can I say( we ordered two portions)! The eggplant and chicken teriyaki was amazing……with great flavours and taste. Oh the crab salad, hmmmmm what beautiful taste and texture.

We had an amazing night here at Sakura. The food is top notch and the service is wonderful. The outdoor patio is where we were sitting. Although it’s less Japanese vibe but they put a bonsai tree on the table. It’s just a lot touch makes the whole vibe different. Well done Sakura team!!!

Up there with the best Japanese we’ve ever had! The sashimi was so incredibly fresh, the dumplings came with a miso sauce to die for and the Angus beef was exceptional. Mitha, Lily and Ayu were all so friendly! We sat by the bar and our daughter loved watching the sushi being made. She ate 3 plates!

Koral: Bali’s First Aquarium Restaurant

Mentioned on
1 list
$$$$very expensive
Restaurant
Koral, Bali's first aquarium restaurant, offers a truly unique dining experience that combines the beauty of underwater life with exquisite culinary artistry. Located at The Apurva Kempinski Bali, this stylish venue features an innovative menu crafted by award-winning chefs Jean-Baptiste Natali and Andrea Astone. Guests can indulge in modern Asian-European dishes that highlight fresh, locally sourced ingredients infused with Indonesian flavors.
What a fantastic dining experience! My husband booked for lunch months in advance for my birthday & our anniversary to secure a table in the tunnel. Glad we booked way in advance as how packed the restaurant was. I was in an awe with all the fishes swimming around. Feels magical. I was a little bit sceptical with the food, afraid it’s not to my taste but boy, how wrong was I. The food was not just pleasing on the eyes but also very delicious. They even gave us a special cake for my birthday. Which was very thoughtful. The staff were kind and attentive. Help us took tons of pictures. Highly recommended to dine here at least once in your lifetime.

This dinner experience was amazing. I cant say enough how this was something try out. The dinner is small portions but good. The staff was polite. The food could not get a 5 star because a friend did find a small bug or insect in their food. They quietly left because they didnt want to ruin the birthday dinner experience for our friend. But that is not acceptable. Otherwise beautiful experience
Kay M — Google review
The best dining experience I ever had. Sitting in the middle of The Tunnel gave an awesome experience. The food is amazing, and I'm surprised to read about others who reviewed otherwise. The decorations and the taste is simply amazing. Service is outstanding and exemplary. Top notch including payment of bill at a private lounge area. One thing which I think can be improved on, is to let guests wait comfortably before your restaurant opens. Waiting outside is not nice.

For a fine dine restaurant at this price I was expecting a better food, especially when I compare the price and food with chef hat restaurants in Australia, however the food was just ok. Garnishing and presentation was top notch, but lacking finesse in terms of the flavour. 😋🤔👍 Kids will totally love the ambience. My daughter absolutely loved dining there in the middle of the aquarium. 🥰🐠👧 Service was great and very friendly. 😊💯🤝 Overall a great experience but not worth the price they are charging for. 😌💰👎

Koral at Apurva is a truly unique dining experience. The highlight is the aquarium setting. If you want to sit right next to the glass, plan ahead. Guests usually line up 10 to 15 minutes early to secure those seats and it is worth contacting the restaurant via WhatsApp beforehand for updates or seating tips. The food and atmosphere are both phenomenal. The set “gourmet” menus are beautifully presented and the flavours are well balanced. Portions for the children were thoughtfully done, which makes it a family friendly option even with its fine dining style. On our visit, a table for four including two kids meals and two gourmet set menus came to around 5 million IDR, so be prepared for premium pricing. This is not an everyday restaurant because it is expensive, but as a one time experience it is memorable and well worth trying, whether you are on a romantic dinner date or visiting with children. If you are staying at Apurva, I would highly recommend experiencing Koral at least once.

The restaurant is stunning, located inside one of the most beautiful hotels in Bali. The ambiance and presentation are truly impressive; Every plate looks like a piece of art. However, while the food was nicely presented, the flavors were just average. Beautiful dishes, but the taste didn’t quite match the visuals. Overall, it felt very expensive for such ordinary flavors. But if you’re looking for that perfect Instagram photo, this is definitely the place!

Koral Restaurant offers an enchanting dining environment unlike any other, with its signature underwater aquarium view creating a serene and mesmerising atmosphere. We tried the ZEN tasting menu with wine pairing, and while the setting and service stood out, the food unfortunately didn’t live up to expectations. Food: The presentation of each course was beautiful, there’s no doubt that the kitchen team puts a great deal of effort into the plating. Unfortunately, it often felt like more attention was paid to visuals than to how the flavours came together. Many dishes seemed to feature ingredient combinations that didn’t quite work, as though the kitchen was experimenting for the sake of novelty rather than cohesion. • Caviar (Course 1): A good start. Well-executed with thoughtful flavours and an appropriate champagne pairing. • Shrimps (Course 2): Served at room temperature (The Shrimp itself), which was a little unsettling. The flavour was acceptable, but nothing memorable. Wine pairing was fine. • Hokkaido Scallop (Course 3): One of the better courses. Nicely balanced with a well-matched wine. • Mushroom Lobster (Course 4): The ravioli itself was quite good, but the mushroom sauce was overpowering. The wine pairing felt too heavy for a delicate dish like lobster. • Dry-Aged Red Snapper (Course 5): Served more like a quiche, the flavours were muted and bland. The wine pairing again felt mismatched and overly bold for white fish. • Veal (Course 6): This was decent, not exceptional, but well-prepared and certainly one of the more cohesive dishes, the wine pairing was ok. • Dessert (Course 7): The main dessert (Sensation Blanche) was quite enjoyable. However, the banana and parsley sorbet was jarring and unpleasant. Our waiter kindly offered to replace it, but we declined as we were nearing the end of our visit. Overall, the food fell short of expectations, especially at this price point. There was potential, but the execution didn’t justify the fine-dining label. Service: The service was good. Our waiter was knowledgeable, attentive, and handled feedback professionally. The pacing was well-balanced, we were seated at 6:00 pm and finished around 8:40 pm without feeling rushed. Staff were friendly and contributed positively to the overall experience. Atmosphere: This is where Koral truly excels. Dining with a panoramic view of tropical marine life is captivating and unforgettable. It elevates the experience significantly and is the main reason to visit. Final Thoughts: Koral is worth a visit for the atmosphere and service. However, if you’re seeking a truly memorable culinary experience, you may leave feeling a bit disappointed as we did.
Thomas S — Google review
The atmosphere at Koral is the main event and is truly 5-star. Dining inside the aquarium is an incredible, one-of-a-kind experience, and watching the marine life swim by is just spectacular. The food was very good and well-presented. Similarly, the service was solid. A highlight was how they handled our walk-in situation; we didn't meet the dress code, and they kindly lent us some items, which we really appreciated. It's an expensive restaurant, and while the food and service are good, you're definitely paying a premium for the stunning setting. Overall, it's a fantastic choice for a special occasion, just be prepared for the high price point. A very memorable meal.

I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport

International airport
Airport
I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, also known as Denpasar International, is the main gateway to Bali. Situated in the southern part of the island, it hosts numerous international and domestic flights daily. The airport is conveniently located near various accommodations such as Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua and Maya Sanur Resort & Spa, both offering seamless transfers from the airport.
Bali Airport (Ngurah Rai International Airport) is well-maintained and offers a pleasant experience for travelers. There are plenty of good eateries and shopping options throughout the terminal. A nice touch is the availability of foot massage services inside the airport, which can be a great way to relax before or after a flight. The washrooms are generally clean and thoughtfully decorated with fresh flowers, adding a refreshing, local touch. Additionally, the Klook or Grab pickup point features an air-conditioned seating lounge, which is very convenient, especially when waiting for your ride. Flights get rescheduled/delayed quite often so check and confirm before you reach airport. Overall, the airport provides a comfortable and enjoyable atmosphere for both arrivals and departures.

A great airport experience! Ngurah Rai International Airport is clean, well-organized, and easy to navigate. The staff were friendly and helpful, from immigration to security. There are plenty of shops, cafes, and souvenir stores to enjoy while waiting for your flight. The traditional Balinese design elements throughout the terminal add a unique cultural touch. Everything ran smoothly, and I was impressed by the efficiency and atmosphere. Highly recommended for travelers coming to or leaving Bali!

I like the arrival terminal more than the departure one. The arrival is way more beautiful, you can find dozens of food stalls and affordable minimarket. While in the departure, things are so expensive and only limited food stalls are available. However the staff in both terminal are nice and friendly.

🌍 Good international airport overall especially great for departures. The departure process is smooth and well-organized, with a clean and modern terminal. ✈️ Arrivals are decent, but be prepared for long lines at visa on arrival, immigration, and customs. It can easily take 2 to 3 hours just to get through everything, especially during peak times. 💰 Currency exchange rates at the airport are very high, so it’s better to exchange only a small amount here and look for better rates in the city. 💧One important note: You are not allowed to bring even sealed water bottles past security. You’ll need to buy water after the security check, so keep that in mind –l water is treated like a precious commodity inside the airport. Overall, a good airport with modern facilities, but prepare for a slow arrival process and some inconveniences related to costs and waiting times.

Pretty cool airport—modern and clean with lots of motorbikes and taxis available right outside. When I arrived it wasn’t busy at all, which made it easy to get through. There are also plenty of restaurants and coffee shops to choose from. One tip: I got my visa through the computer kiosk before baggage claim, but then I still waited in the long line not realizing I could bypass it. The long lines are really for people getting their visa in person and maybe paying cash. If you fill out the arrival card online ahead of time and use the kiosk, you can skip that line completely. It’s an easy process and much faster.
Lydia C — Google review
Upon arrival, everything was surprisingly seamless and efficient. The process flowed smoothly from immigration to baggage claim, and I was out of the airport within about 30 minutes of landing, which was impressive. One unique touch I really appreciated was at baggage claim — there was someone standing with a pillow to catch luggage as it came off the belt to prevent bags from slamming or getting damaged. A small detail, but one that stood out and felt thoughtful. When exiting baggage claim, you’re immediately greeted by beautiful greenery, which makes for a warm and inviting first impression of Bali. It felt like a gentle welcome into the island’s nature-filled aesthetic. I stayed at the Novotel Airport Hotel, and while the location is incredibly convenient, navigating to it was not. There are no clear signs that say “Novotel”, so I ended up confused, wandering through a parking garage and even passing construction areas. It felt awkward and far more chaotic than it should have been. Only the next day did I discover there is a direct and simple path that connects the airport to the hotel internally — I just hadn’t been guided the right way. Better signage or staff direction would make a huge difference for first-time guests. The departure experience was less smooth. It was difficult to get assistance and felt confusing at times. The airport app and staff both informed me that my flight was delayed, but it turned out not to be delayed, which created unnecessary stress. There was also a moment at check-in where they tried to have me sign a waiver for damage to my luggage — damage that had actually occurred on my arrival. I declined to sign, but it still made the process uncomfortable and unclear. Bali’s airport has charm, thoughtful touches, and efficiency on arrival — but navigation and communication could be better, especially for hotel access and departure procedures. Still, between the warm welcome, friendly first impressions, and airport amenities, I’d travel through here again — just a little more prepared next time.
Latisha D — Google review
The international departure area of Bali’s Ngurah Rai Airport is spacious, clean, and fairly well-organised. While there are only two main lounges on the 2nd floor, the terminal makes up for it with plenty of shops and dining options—especially on the first floor, where you’ll find a wide variety of local and international brands. Everything on the departure side feels smooth and pleasant, with clear signage and helpful staff. However, the arrival experience can be quite hectic. Baggage claim tends to be slow, and the crowds at immigration can feel overwhelming during peak hours. Still, once you’re past that, the departure experience is relatively relaxed and easy to navigate. If they can fix the hectic chaos at the arrival side, then it would be perfect
