Bodies of Water
Sprague Lake, situated in the heart of Rocky Mountain National Park, is a stunning mountain lake encircled by a half-mile trail. The venue offers captivating views of towering mountain peaks and is a popular spot for fishing. With a maximum capacity of 100 people, it's also sought after as a wedding location due to its accessibility and picturesque surroundings. The easy hike around the lake provides breathtaking reflections of the surrounding mountains, making it an ideal setting for photography enthusiasts.
One of the beautiful lakes in Colorado. It is situated within Rocky Mountain national Park and Completely surrounded by mountains and meadows, the views are no less than gorgeous. It was mid October and the lake was all icy and extremely cold. However the views compensated it all . Would love to go back and experience the same when all trails are open and accessible.

Amazing! So beautiful, easy walk. Went at sunset and loved every moment! Lake is nestled in between the mountains, filled with wildlife, flowers and the glory of nature!
Christine M — Google review
Sprague Lake at sunrise is pure magic 🌄✨ The still water perfectly mirrors the glowing peaks, creating a breathtaking scene. Easy walk, peaceful vibes, and unforgettable views of wildlife and the surrounding landscape. A must-see stop in Rocky Mountain National Park! 🏞️
Joshua L — Google review
Didn’t get to see more than a glimpse of the lake but it’s very pretty. I’m reviewing this because we stopped here on our tour with yellow wood guiding aka Jared and these bathrooms were our saving grace. Skip bear lakes and come here if you can, it’s not clean but it’s definitely better. UPDATE: we came back and bear lake potties were better, these were still best though. We did the walk around sprague lake and it was beautiful!! Love coming here! Super easy walk/hike. Decent amount of parking and it’s the underdog compared to bear lake.
Sav_cc33 — Google review
What a beautiful lake. We took a very easy walk around the lake. We saw 3 deer & a rabbit. This would be a beautiful spot to watch the sunrise.
Lisa H — Google review
Go there before 5am and get in free with no reservations required. This will make the sunrise even more spectacular than it already is!
Jay — Google review
Sprague Lake is an easy favorite inside Rocky Mountain National Park. The short walk around the lake is flat and accessible, but the views are absolutely stunning. Perfect reflection shots, peaceful setting, and great for sunrise or a calm midday walk. It's the kind of spot you'll end up recommending to everyone who visits the park.
Tim D — Google review
(Visited/photos from September 13, 2024) A gem in the Bear Lake Corridor. Timed entry is required. Easy and mostly flat trail around the lake with benches scattered around to rest and enjoy the views. Worth making this easy stop. Saw a beautiful male elk resting in the cool mud by the lake and lots of female and babies in the parking lot. Lots of parking available. Bathrooms at trailhead.

Lake
Nestled amidst towering mountains and lush forests, Bear Lake is a picturesque alpine lake renowned for its stunning vistas and extensive hiking trails. To access the park during the summer, visitors are required to obtain timed entry reservations or Hiker Shuttle reservations. The area around Bear Lake Road is particularly popular, so it's advisable to arrive early or utilize the shuttle service due to limited parking. With over 300 miles of trails, this destination offers an array of hiking opportunities suitable for all levels.
Absolute must see when going to Colorado. The loop around the lake is a very light, accessible walk and should be easily doable for most people. After that, there are many trails you can pick, with a range of difficulties and durations (2 / 6 / 10+ miles). (October '24) To get here, you need to get the timed entry pass from recreation.gov. Parking at the trail head is usually full, but there's a great shuttle bus system that drives every ~15 minutes from the park & ride.
Nick M — Google review
So many adorable wildlife encounters at this beautiful place! Let’s protect the paradise please don’t feed wildlife animals and don’t leave any trash. I noticed some chipmunks chewing plastic bags…
黃鴨子 — Google review
The weather was great and I was able to hike around the lake without any cold weather gear and enjoy the sun. Very beautiful lake and the views are stunning. I could not park here since the parking was full hence I went back to park and drive and got the shuttle. I am thankful to the authorities for running the shuttle service even during government shutdown. A huge shout out to all the drivers.
Manikandan N — Google review
Stunning scenery!!! Yes it's super busy, but get there early in the morning & it's just fabulous! Easy walk & plenty of parking, but it fills up very early during season, so get there really early, or use Park n Ride, which is super easy & free.
Roberta C — Google review
It a very beautiful lake and the place must see for anyone who wants to visit Rocky Mountain National Park. Not only the lake itself is amazing but also the scenic views on the way to the lake, especially during late fall.
Yriver — Google review
Beautiful lake, nice mile long track around the lake in September with fall colors.
Samir P — Google review
With post card worthy views right off the parking lot it is truly easy to see why the Bear Lake corridor has such stringent time constraints during peak season. It truly is a wonderful lake with amazing views. And indeed it is located right off the parking lot for the Bear Lake Trailhead. Only takes about 15 minutes to walk around the Lake so if you dont feel like a long hike, or are pressed for time than this is an ideal Lake to visit. You'll need a timed entry registration to access the Bear Lake Corridor between the hours of 5 a.m. and 6 p.m. throughout the busy season so keep that in mind. Plan your trip well beforehand as the registrations are made available a month in advance. However if you dont acquire a registration it isn't the end of the world as you can work around the timed entry time frame by just waking up early, or waiting till later in the day to visit the park.
Keith G — Google review
It is a must see for anyone who visit Rocky Mountains in Colorado. The views are breathtaking. In winter we literally walked on the frozen lake . There is a short hike around lake . Highly recommend

The Holzwarth Historic Site, established in 1917 as a cattle ranch, offers a fascinating peek into the early tourism industry of the Rockies. Nestled in the mountains, visitors can enjoy stunning views and delve into the history of the area. The site features an old miners cabin and Holzwarth's taxidermy workshop, providing insight into mountain life at the turn of the century. Additionally, unguided horseback rides are available for those seeking adventure.
Was pretty neat and a service road will take you up to an amazing view (if you're willing to hike it for 5 miles round trip) short and easy walk, saw a family of elk too.
Michelle — Google review
The grounds and building were interesting, but do try to get the 11 AM lectures. Very educational. And we are lucky the Park Service didn't tear this down - there used to be a big historic building near the highway and back in the day they wanted it 'natural' and tore it down. Now they regret it...
Patrick E — Google review
A Hidden Gem on the West Side of Rocky Mountain National Park. Just before exiting Rocky Mountain National Park through the Grand Lake entrance, we stumbled upon the Holzwarth Historic Site and we’re so glad we did! This place is a beautiful blend of history and scenery, tucked away in one of the most stunning parts of the park. The walk out to the site is easy and incredibly scenic, surrounded by breathtaking mountain views. Along the way, you’ll come across historic cabins that once served as a rustic getaway for wealthy visitors back in the early 1900s. Guests would stay for a week at a time, with meals, heat, and cozy accommodations provided—quite luxurious for the time! Some of the cabins are furnished with what appears to be original or replica pieces, giving you a real sense of what life was like back then. You’ll even see old washing equipment and other everyday items from the era. It’s like stepping back in time. A highlight of the visit was seeing the headwaters of the Colorado River, a surreal experience knowing this peaceful stream eventually becomes the powerful force that carved the Grand Canyon, hundreds of miles away. If you have an extra hour to an hour and a half as you're passing through, it’s absolutely worth the stop. We were pleasantly surprised by how much we enjoyed it—both for the history and the peaceful walk. Highly recommended!
Christina M — Google review
The park ranger’s volunteering here are very friendly and knowledgeable about the area, go up and talk with them, they love it when you do! Nice little walk to some cabins with a ton of history.

Extremely interesting. Don”t skip it if you are on the East Side - fascinating stories and a great stroll around the Never Summer Mountains. Gorgeous meadows and the beautiful Colorado river. Don’t miss
Santosh S — Google review
Pretty cool historic site. The hike out to the fishing camp is really easy. We are traveling with our 8 month old and we took the stroller. Great views and you are at the headwaters of the Colorado river. Beautiful!!!!!!
Regan C — Google review
Very interesting. We heard the guided tour by the ranger Deb (on picture) who gave us the history of this family and specific ranch following the history of the USA and it's first residents while comparing with that of the (white) emigrants. Also the legal development of the rights on the water, as illustrated by the rights on the water of the river Colorado which spring is very near.

Alpine Visitor Center

Mentioned on

Visitor center
Nestled at an impressive elevation of 11,796 feet along the Trail Ridge Road in Rocky Mountain National Park, the Alpine Visitor Center stands as the highest visitor center in the National Park System. Its distinctive lattice log roof design is engineered to withstand fierce winter winds. This center offers a unique opportunity to explore and understand the alpine tundra ecosystem that thrives in this high-altitude region.
This is more than just a visitor center for the national Park service, it is a really neat place to visit. You have breathtaking panoramic views of the mountains. Moreover, it’s above the tree line, so it is really interesting and different from about any other ecosystem, you could see. I particularly enjoyed that they had a seating area inside with big huge panel windows to look out over the mountains and the valleys and streams below. It is extremely busy so I would recommend coming early. Moreover, a lot of times it rains in the afternoons in the mountains so coming early makes even more sense to be able to See Things and also to take advantage of some of the trails that spiral out from this visitor center. There is a short trail to the top of a very nearby mountain, which is worthwhile but expect that it will take more effort than you think due to the high altitude. I will also say that about half of our 20 person party experienced altitude sickness since this is at about 12,000 feet. The roads are pretty narrow and a little bit scary so this is something else you should consider as you’re driving up. There are lots of places to turn off and look at stuff. The center itself has bathrooms a ranger station a small gift shop and a neat little mini museum. Five stars!
Jason C — Google review
This visitor center offers gorgeous views across Rocky Mountain national Park. We were here in an evening right at sunset, so we were not able to go into the actual visitor center, but we spent a good bit of time here just soaking in the sunset views. Not only did we get to see the beautiful sky after the sun went down, but we got to watch elk and some moose in the valley below the visitor center! There is also nice restrooms here, and plenty of parking. As well as some steps that take you up to an observation point at an even higher elevation.
Kevin H — Google review
Unfortunately by the time we visited (October 10) and drove all the way to the top, we found that the Visitors Center was CLOSED for the season. Very disappointing but totally understandable, given the huge snowfalls (there was snow at this altitude already) and the very unnerving drive. This drive once you start climbing to the higher elevations, and certainly above 9,000 - 10,000 feet, is on a narrow but well maintained road, with no guardrails and precipitous drops! As one Park Ranger told me later - not for the faint of heart! However, this is the highest Visitors Center in the US National Park system and the alpine views above the tree lines and just below the clouds are incredible! Be aware that, as in our case, at the lower parts of the park (around 7-8,000 feet in elevation) the temperature was 58F while at the top of the mountains at the Visitor Center it was light rain and 39F. Do not take lightly the precautions of rapid and significant weather changes. But absolutely glad we did the drive once.
Dr D — Google review
Great visitor center! Unique experience to go all the way to the top! Definitely acclimate to the elevation first. Over 11,000 feet about sea level. Great views. I liked trail ridge road better but we did old Fall River on the way up. Saw a marmot! Check out the cafe/store for a larger selection of souvenirs. Food didn’t have many choices.
Vickie P — Google review
Beautiful trail ridge road leading to the alpine visitor center. We saw a moose just before entering the parking lot. The view from the center in the fall is absolutely gorgeous. There is a short hike up to an overlook offering stunning views of the surrounding mountain range. Hiking boots are not needed. Perfect spot for a pit stop on a scenic drive.
Elena W — Google review
Beautiful 360 degree views of the snow capped mountains. The hike to the summit was rewarding and breathtaking! Definitely recommend this one. Cafe serves a variety of beverages, minimal food options. The gift/souvenir store has variety but is over priced. If you are going down and exiting the RMNP, you will find many souvenir stores selling the same things for at least 30% less.
Dinesh C — Google review
Beautiful views! Got here at 8:30am on a Tuesday morning in July. The parking lot was only 1/3 full. But by the time 9:30 came around and the visitor center was open, parking lot was completely full. Arrive early for parking and nice to avoid the crowd. Outside is cold and extremely windy. Wear layers.
M S — Google review
The Alpine Center in RMNP is amazing! The drive there from Beaver Meadows entrance was exhilarating. Going from Aspen and pine forest to the alpine and tundra area above treeline was super interesting. At Alpine one can climb a straight, half mile trail straight up to be at the top of the mountain with views in all directions of the world below. Amazing! Educational info along the trail regarding the tundra's plants, wild flowers and animals, how they survive winters with 100 mph winds that scour the land, little water, and freezing temps were nice spots to stop, rest, and read. The air is super thin and takes some getting used to. We really enjoyed our day getting there.

Alberta Falls is a popular 1.7-mile roundtrip hike located at the Glacier Gorge Trailhead in RMNP. The trail offers a scenic journey through aspen groves and pine forests, with vibrant fall colors making it especially picturesque from late September to November. The well-maintained trail leads to the stunning 30-foot waterfall, which cascades into a small gorge.
Nice hike with a moderate climb. Clearly marked and not too difficult with hiking boots. We went there in early June and had no issues with snow/ice.
Prasad N — Google review
1.7 miles round trip hike Pretty views! 😍 Fresh air Challenging hikes. 💪 Lots of opportunity to see a variety of plants🌿 birds 🐦 and animals 🦎
Лариса Ю — Google review
An easy hike from the Glacier Gorge trailhead, quite rewarding. The falls in late September were still gushing magnificently. Unsurprisingly, a lot of people stop here so it was a bit crowded but you can get nice looks from other little spots around the main stopping point.
Saminda W — Google review
Less than a mile hike from trailhead to the falls. Worth the effort. You can get very close to the falls. Very pretty.
Joshua O — Google review
Glad I did the Bear lake corridor (which included Alberta Falls). Easy hike on a clear trail.
Ron R — Google review
You take the Bear Lake Road to get to this trail. Alberta Falls is a short hike with beautiful views in Rocky Mountain National Park. Rocky Mountain National Park entry fee is $20 for one day and $35 for 7 days and be aware of their timed entries before you go. It's not that challenging of a hike. It's a highly trafficked trail so be prepared to see lots of people on the trail. The views are great to stop and soak in.
Katrina — Google review
Hike to this place is easy. Definitely worth a stop if you are hiking towards emerald lake. The starting point is Bear Lake trailhead.

Easy family friendly hike. Just half a mile. Remember about the new timed entery in RMNP

Longs Peak is a majestic 14,259-ft. mountain located in a national park, offering intrepid climbers a challenging route to its snow-covered peak. The area has historical significance as it was believed that certain men used the summit as an eagle trap, although this claim remains unverified. The Rocky Mountain National Park, where Longs Peak is situated, boasts over 350 miles of picturesque trails winding through forests, alpine lakes, and wildflower-filled meadows.
One of the most popular Colorado 14ers but not easy. Keyhole route is nice climb and views from top are great
George N — Google review
What a beaut!!! Did the Keyhole route 2 weekends ago, quite crowded. Got one of the last parking spots around 2:10am. It became chilly right around the boulder field. Gloves came in handy and hand warmers. Beautiful sunrise. Couple of high wind spots for instance right around the Keyhole. Registered around 42K steps total. Persistent Class 3 scramble, quite tiring but definitely worth the effort. Beautiful edge views. Good luck!!!
Regular G — Google review
The hike was awesome! started about 0500 and finished about 1500. we got some gorgeous sunrise views and the hike past the keyhole included quite a bit of loose rocks. if you’re scared of steep cliff ends, be careful. we had a few hikers not go to the end because of that. only one of the hikers joined our group!
Christina M — Google review
Very difficult climb but totally worth it. I consider myself to be in pretty good physical shape, but I wasn't really prepared for the beast this was. Registered about 58K steps. Began the climb around 3am and summited at 9:30am. Did it Labor Day Weekend. Would definitely recommend. Just make sure you're in good shape!
Drew D — Google review
Started at 0230 and wrapped up around noon. I was making great time until I got lost after the Keyhole. After figuring out I wasted an hour climbing up only to realize the trail was below me (those bullseyes can be hard to spot in the dark!) I got back on track and was moving along nicely… until the Trough and Homestretch. It was slow going in those two sections for me, both on the way up and coming down. I’ve never had altitude issues on any trip until this hike. Spending only a half day acclimating from sea level, hiking 6 miles the afternoon before, and getting 3 hours of shoddy sleep isn’t the brightest set of moves to prep for a tough hike. Cramping, headaches, sucking wind.. but I have experience with long hikes that gain a lot of elevation and am in decent shape so I pushed through. The Keyhole route isn’t a technical climb and I didn’t feel that any parts were too sketchy, but on the way back down I saw a lot of folks who clearly weren’t in shape for this or vastly underestimated their fear of heights in the narrows areas. Just prepare smarter than I did and you’ll have a better experience.
Zack R — Google review
This hike was miserable. 15-16 miles out n back, 5k’ elevation gain, really strong wind gusts in the open areas, about 20 million rocks to climb over, the descent seemed to last 3 weeks (whole hike took me 13 hrs), and it was sleeting at the top with almost no view. That being said, It. Was. Awesome. (I say this today, the day after my hike; not yesterday lol).
Joel P — Google review
Started hiking around 2-2:15 in the morning in time to see the sunrise at the boulder field. Hiking in the dark is absolutely surreal and definitely a bonus. The stars were absolutely insane and you’re able to clearly see the Milky Way arm. When we reached tree line, it was extremely windy and cold so be prepared with gloves and a face covering. The first 5.5 miles are pretty moderate but once you get to the keyhole it gets much, much harder. Definitely bring plenty of water because this is a very intense hike! Also keep in mind there is no defined trail past the boulder field and you must follow the spray painted arrows. That being said the view at the top is definitely worth the work
Dusty_marshmello — Google review
It is a very hard hike, even for experienced hikers. 16 miles, 5000’+ elevation gain, ledges that you have to get across(these areas are called the narrows), lots of rockfall when hikers are up above you in the steep sections. Some people break the hike up into 2 days and camp at boulder field, just below the keyhole. We started at 2:30am to see the sunrise at the keyhole and to avoid the summer storms!

Bear Lake Trailhead serves as the starting and ending point for a short nature trail looping around a scenic, high-altitude lake. Due to limited parking, access to the Bear Lake Corridor may be restricted during peak times, requiring visitors to use a hiker shuttle from Estes Park Visitor Center. The area offers several popular hiking routes, including a challenging four-mile hike up Flattop Mountain and an easier trail leading to Nymph, Dream, and Emerald lakes.
I really don't know how I've always overlooked Rocky Mountain National Park. I know this is a review on Bear Lake the wild the entire park is amazing. Bear Lake is what you make of it easy or to the extreme there are so many different areas to hike from here. Great for couples singles families or even small little groups. The lake is very easy to do .8 miles it has different scenes at every corner you turn. I did the loop and then headed out to Emerald Lake I'm so glad I did.

Bear Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park is absolutely stunning and a must-visit spot. The lake is surrounded by breathtaking mountain peaks and tall pine trees, making it a picture-perfect place for nature lovers. The trail around the lake is an easy walk, suitable for all ages, and offers beautiful views from every angle. The clear reflections of the mountains in the water are especially magical in the morning. It can get crowded during peak times, but the peaceful atmosphere and natural beauty make it worth the visit. A perfect place to relax, take photos, or start your hike deeper into the park.
Iqbal N — Google review
With postcard worthy views throughout the easy walk around this picturesque alpine lake it's quite easy to see why there are such stringent timed entry constraints for the Bear Lake Road corridor. It only takes about fifteen minutes to walk around the trail is flat and very well maintained. Definitely suggest it if you are short on time or just don't feel like going on a multiple mile long hike. As far as the timed entry permit goes if you visit during peak season and plan well enough in advanced then permits can be secured starting a month in advance. Or a limited few are released the night before. However if you cannot secure a permit you can still work around the timed entry hours either arrive early (before 5 a.m., or visit right after 6 pm.) . I would love to visit during the fall, and winter as I'm sure both seasons add their own personal beauty to the already pristine lake
Keith G — Google review
We had a wonderful time here. The trails are very, very smooth. they do have a couple little rocks in them, you could probably get a large wheeled stroller through here, but I would probably still recommend a carrier if you have young kids instead. This is a very kid, friendly trail, too. Beautiful and lots of great views and picture opportunities all the way around the lake. It’s about a mile around. There are lots of people, but it doesn’t really seem like it once you’re on the trail.
Jason C — Google review
One of the most popular starting points in Rocky Mountain National Park. At 9.475 ft (2900m) elevation, the air stays cool even in summer. From here, you can hike to Bear Lake Loop, Nymph Lake, Dream Lake and Emerald Lake. Parking fills up quickly for those with cars but shuttle buses are available for visitors without one. Surrounded by pine, spruce and fir forests. It's a beautiful trail.
Ozi — Google review
Super easy trail that is basically paved and flat the whole loop. Took the shuttle from park n ride to make it even easier and not worry about parking. Also did the Emerald Lake trail before hand. So this is a good add-on hike if you still have energy from Emerald.
Joshua — Google review
Great place for hiking, no matter what level you're at. Plenty of parking and a free park and ride system, restrooms and as always knowledgeable and helpful rangers on hand. We did the hike up to Emerald lake via Nymph lake and Dream lake, and also to Alberta falls, then out through Glacier Gorge trailhead. Excellent trails and amazing scenery! The must visit one stop destination fo hikers of all ages and abilities.

Visited June 2025 If you’re heading to Rocky Mountain National Park and looking for the perfect way to kick off your trip, don’t skip Bear Lake Trail. It’s one of those spots that instantly makes you pause and say “oh wow” without even trying to be dramatic. We brought friends who had never been to Colorado, and let me tell you, this easy loop trail had them wide-eyed and grinning from the first step. It’s short, sweet, and absolutely packed with jaw-dropping views. The trail is flat and super well maintained, which makes it perfect for just about anyone. We saw families with toddlers, grandparents, groups of hikers laughing and snapping photos every few feet. The lake itself is calm and glassy, and the way the mountains reflect off the water? Just stunning. It’s one of those places where nature shows off a little. And rightfully so. It was a cool late afternoon when we visited, and the air was crisp, with the trees offering a little shade, and the energy along the trail was nothing short of joyful. So many smiles, so many “this is amazing” comments—it’s just that kind of vibe. Bear Lake isn’t a challenging hike by any means, it's less than a one mile loop, but it’s the kind of trail that sets the tone for a magical mountain vacation. Peaceful, beautiful, and easy enough to enjoy without breaking a sweat. Any time we visit the Rocky Mountains, Bear Lake is always our first stop!

The restaurant also offers a selection of organic, sustainable, and biodynamic wines from small wineries, as well as handcrafted cocktails made with fresh ingredients and craft beers.
Ate twice here during our stay in Estes - both times after our Rocky hikes! The place is so warm n cozy, our server was also very nice and welcoming. The food was great as well! Good vegan options. My favorite was Hallet’s Peak. The cornbread was so soft and delicious… edamame was tasty too. The pheasant soup was so comforting. So was the Jim burger! Gotta say it - My favorite restaurant in Estes!!!

Really enjoyed the food! For apps we had the bruschetta and a side of the asparagus, which was out of this world. My husband and I both had the veggie burger, one with a side of the sweet potato waffle fries and the other with the side salad. While the salad was just OK, the burgers were AWESOME - it felt like some genuine thought had gone into designing their veggie burger, and not just thrown an option on the menu just for the sake of having a vegetarian burger. The ambience was super warm and welcoming too.

Bird & Jim is always at the top of our list when we're in Estes. They are consistently some of the best food in the valley. We love to sit at the bar and chat with the staff and other guests. The atmosphere is always warm and welcoming. We enjoyed all three of our visits this trip. Including the always fantastic pheasant chowder! One afternoon we had a late lunch from the apps and sides menu - elk strip loin and chicken nuggets. Both were delicious. We pictured are two desserts, the strawberry shortcake and bread pudding. I also really liked the house-made potato chips and onion dip. It's not something I'd usually order but those chips were so good - the perfect thickness and crispiness. In fact, they were so good, I used them the pimento cheese dip and the tuna poke. Their happy hour (open to 4 pm) draws a crowd and it's always a good idea to get a reservation for dinner.

Last night was my first visit to Bird & Jim, and I can gladly say we WILL BE returning! The food and service were phenomenal! Here's a rundown of our experience (including beverage and food selections): For drinks, my husband ordered the Bust a Rut and I had the Manhattan, both were fantastic. For our appetizer, we ordered the Tuna Poke (photo attached...though it’s half-eaten because we were so excited to eat it that we forgot to take a photo at first) and it was honestly the best tuna poke we’ve ever had. For our shared entree, we ordered The Carnivore, which included elk striploin, filet mignon, cheddar game sausage, and broccolini. It looked so incredible that we started eating before I could even get a photo, so no photo of that amazing meal, but it was beautifully plated and absolutely delicious. We ate every bite. We added a side of mac and cheese, which was also full of flavor. I believe our waitress’s name was Nina (from Argentina). She was so sweet and attentive, even during the busy hours of a Saturday night on a holiday weekend! Highly recommend Bird & Jim (and Nina!) because everything we ordered and the service was amazing. Also, considering how BUSY the restaurant was, I was very thankfully the hostess was able to seat us 30-minutes before our reservation, since we arrived a tad too early AND that Nina was so attentive while all tables were full of other patrons. So as you can tell, great experience all around and we'll definitely be returning on our next trek up the canyon from NoCo!

Fantastic meal and service. We ordered 3 carnivore plates along with the pheasant chowder, corn bread, mushrooms, and mac and cheese. The meats were juicy and cooked perfectly. It was the best tasting Elk we ever had. We also ordered cocktails which were very enjoyable. Cool atmosphere inside the restaurant and really like the open kitchen concept.

We weren't feeling really hungry, so we hit the appetizers, and they did NOT disappoint. We had great service, great food and drinks. We ordered the beef sliders, balsamic bruschetta, and smoked Pheasant chowder. Sat down at the bar and had very quick and friendly service. The locally brewed beer was great too! We highly recommend this restaurant.

We booked a reservation here and had a great time before our hike. Ordered the bowl and it was very healthy, but bacon was pretty hard. The vegetarian burger was amazing, wished the fries were more crunchy. After we finished, there was a long line up. So reservation is highly recommended. Service was excellent!

Came in for lunch with a couple of friends—I’m visiting, but they’re locals and brought me here. The food was amazing, service was solid, and the atmosphere was totally on point. We had a great view from our bar table, and I loved the cozy couches and laid-back table setup—it felt really inviting and relaxing. Even had a fun little moment with one of the bar regulars. Great vibes, good times, and seriously good food!

Nestled in a 90-year-old mountain lodge with stunning views of the Rocky Mountains, Twin Owls Steakhouse offers an intimate dining experience. The rustic ambiance, complete with hardwood floors and moss rock fireplaces, sets the stage for savoring prime USDA steaks, chops, ribs, wild game, fresh seafood and delectable desserts. The extensive wine list features global vintages and local craft beers.
This is hands-down the best steakhouse in Estes Park—we keep coming back! The steaks are perfectly cooked, well-seasoned, and never need extra salt. The wait staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, and the house-made desserts are a must-try. They also have a great wine list with options for every budget. The restaurant itself is beautiful, with stunning mountain views that make the whole experience even better. Highly recommended!

My family and I were visiting Estes Park and came here after a day of hiking. The front staff and our waitress were very wonderful! The service was great. The atmosphere of the restaurant was a little off. We were expecting a little bit of a higher class steakhouse, but we got more of a Texas Roadhouse atmosphere. There was a live band playing, which we thought was little strange for a steakhouse. We were seated away from the band so it did not bother us. The drinks were great, there was mojitos and espresso martinis at the table, everyone enjoyed their drink! The food was overall good! Everyone at my table enjoyed their food. The only complaints I had were that my plate felt a little bit crowded and my food was all on top of each other rather than being nicely presented. I ordered the prime rib, medium rare, it felt a little dry, but overall it was still tasty!
Julie G — Google review
My husband and I went here for our anniversary dinner. The owner and the staff were very attentive and the food was very good. They had a classic guitar player, which added to the ambiance. The prices are somewhat high, but that seems to be the norm around here. The lamb was great, but next time, I would go for medium in lieu of medium rare, my usual go-to. I highly recommend this place, and it was a fabulous start to a wonderful vacation here.

We celebrated my husband’s birthday with a stunning panoramic view, warm live music, and excellent service. The elk kabobs, filet mignon, French onion soup, baked brie, salad with lump crab meat and cheesecake were standout all excellent. Friendly staff, a dessert discount, and a surprise drink treat from a fellow guest made it feel like magic. So glad we chose Twin Owls—every detail made us feel special.

Best Brussels sprouts we have ever had - great views (they will accommodate you if you ask for a window view. The best time for a window view is 5 PM.) - fast service - bison filet was awesome; sweeter than beef filet - excellent bacon wrapped scallops!!
Lowery P — Google review
As a well-traveled global foodie, I can confidently say Twin Owls (named after the rock formation in Lumpy Ridge that's a local favorite climbing spot, see attached pic) is everything you’d hope for in a top-tier steakhouse... and then some. Nestled in the heart of Estes Park with a breathtaking mountain backdrop, the experience here is nothing short of unforgettable. Our family of five (3 teens, 2 adults) shared bites from each other’s plates (because it all sounded so good), and I genuinely couldn’t choose a favorite between the beef, bison, or elk ribeye. Each was unique, but all were absolute perfection - carne at its finest. The appetizers were equally impressive, and dessert? A homemade apple pie that felt like it was made just for us - crafted with care by Thad, the incredibly warm, gracious, and unofficial Estes historian/Twin Owls owner. The staff were among the best around with everyone adding their unique story of how they came to Estes and more importantly what has kept them there. Without being a spoiler, suffice it to say even though the food was well-worth our trip to Estes, it was the people who lived and worked there, the Twin Owls family, were the reason we not only stayed but felt connected as extended family even after only one visit. If I could, I would bring my kids back for every birthday, graduation, holiday, on our calendar (sadly, we live out of state). It's that kind of place where you want to make every special occasion better by sharing this experience with the ones you love. If you’re lucky enough to dine at Twin Owls, prepare for more than just a meal. It’s an experience that will stay with you way longer than after the last bite. Trust me, I'm drooling just recalling our night!
Alan W — Google review
My partner and I had the best experience at Twin Owls tonight. From the live acoustic guitarist to the tender elk appetizer, everything was exquisite. To start, we were sat at a table by the window where the view was simply spectacular. Our server, Aubrey, was very informative, helpful and attentive. The drinks were great and courses were spaced out nicely. The entrees were exceptional- especially the steak. From the muscular, mustached host to the kind bartender, everyone made us feel very welcome and comfortable. Overall a top-notch establishment and we will certainly be back.
Colton M — Google review
We had reservations...I feel that's important to start out with. Sometimes you can 'walk in' to a nice restaurant/steak house; and other times you're going to be disappointed if you don't plan ahead. We were early and were seated (and by a window = breathtaking view of the surrounding area). The server did not rush us at all, even though we were early. He let us enjoy our drinks and set a leisurely pace for us. Drinks, appetizers, salads, bread service, our meal and desert...absolutely no rush, even with a busy dining room. Old fashions and a raspberry mojito were super tasty. Elk kababs couldn't have been done better (and elk can be finicky to prepare). Salad was of a shareable size, and two of us definitely shared. Bison filet cooked to perfection...if you're a seafood lover, add the lump crab - you won't be disappointed! Finished off with carrot cake and 4 forks. Great meal and excellent service to finish off our wedding weekend!

Smokin' Dave's BBQ in ESTES PARK is a local favorite, especially during the fall season when the vibrant colors attract weekend crowds. The restaurant is known for its slow-cooked meats and delicious wings with three sauce options, including a spicy Thai option. With multiple locations in the area, it has become a popular dining choice for both locals and visitors. The menu features out-of-this-world barbecue dishes that have earned the restaurant numerous accolades over its 25 years of operation.
Even though it was busy, we were able to be seated by the bar immediately. We got two different sandwiches and they were LOADED! Definitely got both taste and value. The sides were amazing! We will definitely be back if we’re in the area and tell others about this place!

I had a five star experience! We took 20 people into this restaurant unannounced and they seated us very nearly immediately and served us some spectacular barbecued foods on monstrous family style platters! The atmosphere was similar to a bar, but it was very relaxed and they were definitely kid friendly there which is good because we had a rowdy bunch of kids. The service was quick and attentive. But let’s talk about the sauce. The sauce was extremely good! Overall, five star experience!

This place is absolutely amazing. The front staff was super friendly. The food was delicious and came out quickly. The red chili is like, one of the best chilis my husband and I have ever had. Our waitress Arminel was a sweetheart and just great all around. I had to stop and let the manager know about how great her service was and overall experience tonight. 20/10 would recommend stopping here!

Smokin’ Dave’s in Estes Park is a must-visit! We had the chicken fried steak, chili, and brisket plate. Everything was flavorful and perfectly cooked. The brisket was tender and smoky, the chili had a great kick, and the chicken fried steak was golden and crisp. Expect a wait but we were able to snag some seats at the bar and had a great bartender. Can’t remember his name but he was a Texas bro with southern hospitality and super friendly.

We had such a great experience! From the moment we arrived, we were a party of 6 adults & 3 children and the hostess made us feel welcome and taken care of. Our server Angel was attentive without being overbearing, always checking in at the perfect time and making sure our drinks were never empty. The food was absolutely incredible, we ordered the Big Kahuna Belly Buster. The family platter was loaded with perfectly smoked brisket, tender pulled pork, juicy chicken, and fall-off-the-bone ribs smothered in rich BBQ sauce. The fries were crisp, the cornbread muffins warm and fluffy, and the creamy coleslaw balanced everything out. It was the kind of meal where you keep saying “just one more bite” even when you’re already full. On top of the delicious food, Angel’s friendly attitude and great service really stood out. They made the experience feel even more enjoyable and memorable for our group. We’ll definitely make the long drive again for Smokin’ Dave’s BBQ!

Traditional BBQ place. Came here on a whim, had to wait outside for over half an hour. Took bar seating, very nice atmosphere, service was cordial but not exceptional, ordered a 2 meat plate and some drinks. The chicken was nice, brisket acceptable. Sides and chili and salad ate very good. Worth a try but not in the running for the best BBQ out there for me.
Deniz U — Google review
The Food was good, we had a grilled chicken salad, a Cajun chicken sandwich and pulled pork potato plate. All really good. The service was slow the girl was nice but she never came back to get us more water or to ask if ee needed anything. Maybe too busy? Other than that everything was fine, the atmosphere was a little loud, lots of conversations going typical of a busy restaurant. I'll go back again.

This was REALLY good BBQ. Honestly priced for BBQ and it was really darn good with large portions. The kids loved it, I loved it, and super picky Hubs even said it was good! Service was friendly, efficient, and attentive. It was PACKED but we had no wait to get in. We ended up eating our fill AND taking home stuffed full to go boxes. We got the appetizer sampler (19$) and one of the shared plates (45$) and 6 buns (7-8$). It was all good, am actually very excited to go back and would HIGHLY recommend.

Situated on the outskirts of town near Rocky Mountain National Park, it's a perfect spot to enjoy great food, local music, and a cozy mountain-style dining experience.
Great spot for a meal. Environment is cozy and nice. Staff is accommodating and helpful. Asked for recommendations and was very satisfied with what was provided. We had elk sausage for an appetizer. Bread with cinnamon butter was awesome. Elk meatballs were great. Lots of food. I didn’t enjoy the mountain margarita. Had lots of dessert.

Great stop for some local food and beer. We especially liked the elk sausage and bison meatballs. For lighter fare- I recommend the salad with a serving of salmon on top. It’s loud, so not necessarily a cozy place and always crowded.

Great little place a local told us about to have dinner was casual comfortable and food was great had steak and mashed potatoes side of buffalo wings and dates wrapped in bacon 🥓 so good. Sweet and savory combo. Our waitress was awesome she pegged me immediately that I came from New Hampshire lol she was a Massachusetts transplant. Had live entertainment that wasn't over bearing you could enjoy your meal and have conversation without being drowned out by music so that was also a plus for me.

We love everything about this place and you it in on our now bi annual trips to Estes. Servers, food, music and even the creative candles Ashley makes and sells there are just perfect. We passed this place for years and wondered about it, never stopping until they hung the Pride flags out! We are allys. After our first trip, we don't miss an experience there. Music starts at 5:00! There may be a line at 4:00 when they open, so don't be in a hurry! You will love this place!
Lu H — Google review
Your classic mountain town restaurant. The servers were kind. Food was alright. Really lived the fact that the restaurant was inclusive and hung up 2 pride flags. One big one right outside. We got the bison pasta and NY Strip. The steak was mediocre, chewy and slightly overcooked. The bison was a tad gamey but still good. Still a decent place. You just can’t be very choosy when you’re up in a mountain town.
Salman Z — Google review
Another off the beaten path restaurant find that did not disappoint. The atmosphere is exactly what you look for when you’re in the Rockies, but you can tell this is very much a locals spot. Great recommendation from the server on the Buffalo meatballs, they were so good. The pizza was also very good and nice and crispy! Giving a 5star because it deserved it, but wish I could do 1/2. 4.5 because I did have one of the worst mules I’ve ever had and the bartender at the bar was very rude. But still a 5 over a 4 in my book.

Service and food was great! The bacon wrapped dates were very tasty and we loved the trout with dill and butter! The meat on the mains were done very well but the sides were a little lacking in flavor. 10/10 would recommend.

My husband and I made reservations in advance for a 5 pm seating. We arrived 20 minutes early thinking we could get a drink before dinner, but the doors were locked and they had no bar, so we went to Claire’s two doors down. The was our first experience at Seasoned, so if you don’t know, there is pay parking in front, and the meter maid is very militant! We saw two people get tickets. Park up the hill for free if you can walk a bit. The Seasoned restaurant has maybe 10 tables inside, but plenty of outdoor bistro tables outside. They claim they are open year round, so I suppose people don’t mind sitting in the cold with propane heaters? Anyway, we were the second couple in the door once they unlocked. We told the hostess that we had reservations and asked if we could sit at a two seated table near the window, looking towards the park and away from the music speakers as my husband is hard of hearing. She got snippy with us and said that she could not, as she had that particular table “double booked”. What? She sat us at a 4 seated table (why?) and we had our very expensive common brand glass of wine ($20), none less than $17 per glass. We had the trout ( good but not 5 star) and the Albondigas meatballs ( very spicy and not great). Service was good, but I expected better for an empty restaurant, as We waited a bit for our wine. We were there maybe an hour and the whole time the two seated table was empty! The hostess turned away people without reservations, probably 6 people were turned away. Before we left the restaurant got to 80% full, mostly locals from what we could tell. Overall the bill was $150.00 so over priced in our book. We can’t recommend this place after the actions of the hostess and the wine prices. She is a Very snooty lady in clogs. And they obviously think they’re something special. We prefer Twin Owls MUCH better! Oh and by the way, the menu online is from 2023….

This place is awesome. Small menu with every item dialed. Came in with a group of 5 that ordered all different appetizers and entrees, and everything was absolutely delicious. Personally had the Steak Frites, which was a delicious sous vide wagyu sirloin with sunny side up eggs and chimichurri over fries with pecorino. Highly recommend trying it if it’s available. Beyond the delicious food, the bartenders make great cocktails, and the service is incredibly attentive.

A cozy farm to table restaurant with an ever rotating menu based on what products are available. Best food we have tried in the Estes area for dinner and we have gone to many of their old standbys. Owner Joanne was running the hostess stand and was able to get us in for our reservation early so that we didn't need to wait on this amazing menu. Highly recommend this restaurant for anyone that loves food made with a passion. Dishes are plated perfectly, staff is wonderfully personal, and the end of night check is criminally underpriced.

My husband and I were in Estes Park for our son’s graduation from Ravencrest Bible School. We arrived a day early so we could have time to enjoy this precious town before things got busy. We looked at several option for dinner and ultimately decided on Seasoned Bistro. We are both so thankful because it was an absolute treat. The service was amazing. The hostess is the chef’s wife and just a sweet sweet soul. We didn’t really know what to expect we were blown away by the presentation and taste. The attention to detail is amazing. My husband had the Bison Hash, as a vegetarian I picked the Three Sisters, for dessert my husband got the Apple Cheesecake (served on a precious glass plate in the shape of an apple) and I picked the Honey Pot. I did see several families come in with children and then leave. I encourage you to bring your kids, have them share a meal. They will love it.

Absolutely phenomenal. I’m writing this review while I still sit at my table. That’s how amazing it is. From the craft cocktails made to perfection to the delectable dessert, this is a must do in Estes Park. Every bite was absolutely delicious. We will definitely be back.

Located on the far east side of Elkhorn Rd by the riverwalk, this hidden gem provides a great dining option without long waits during peak tourist seasons. Great vegetarian options! The chile relleno was so good, something like i’ve never had Although chips and salsa are not complementary, they were very fresh and delicious! The two different sauces on the enchiladas were really good! Very friendly staff and helped us customize the food exactly the way we wanted it The restaurant is spacious and pretty with a lot of cool local art ☺️

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Always our go-to spot in Estes Park! Ed’s Cantina & Grill never disappoints. No matter how busy they are (and they usually are!), the service is impressively fast and efficient. We ordered and had our drinks in under 5 minutes, and our food followed shortly after—less than 10 minutes later! My favorite is the bison enchiladas—they’re packed with flavor, and the sauce has the perfect balance of spice and tang. It pairs so well with the pinto beans and rice on the side. Another must-try is their fried green beans—a total game changer for picky eaters who don’t usually love veggies. Seriously, give them a shot. We also ordered the plantains, which were amazing - crispy edges, soft center, and topped with cilantro, black salt and sunflower seeds. From the great food to the quick service, Ed’s has earned its place as a staple for us every time we visit Estes Park. Highly recommend!
Camille P — Google review
First time trying Bison Enchiladas. I asked for all rice and no beans and all the sauces and garnishes on the side (I like flavors but not a lot of heat). I took my first bite and I realized I should have asked the waiter about the heat level of the bison meat. He came back to our table to see how we were doing and I asked for a side of sour cream to lessen the heat and it helped greatly. Now I was able to taste and enjoy the enchiladas. They seasoned it well. Bison is lean and it needs assistance from the chef to make it tasty. Excellent service from our waiter. I like it a lot when restaurants use handheld devices to place orders and to check out guests. Your credit card never leaves your hand. Small parking lot next to the restaurant. It’s free parking after 5pm otherwise you hunt for street parking or use the parking lot at the library across the street. Fun and lively vibe at this restaurant.

We enjoy dinner here but honestly it's a great place to sit at the bar, have an appetizer, or two, and chat with the bartenders. Fun to watch them do their thing & learn about the different drinks they offer. Highly recommend the avocado margarita, the mango margarita is yummy too! The pork chili fries were simply delish!! Bartenders at Ed's are the bomb!

I really enjoyed this restaurant. It has a bar and plenty of indoor dining seating. I sat at the bar and ordered a spicy margarita which was delightful. The bartender, was the best. He gave me a great recommendation of getting one taco of different kinds. And to try the bison. I'm so happy I did. The bison was my favorite. The barbacoa is also very well done. I was pleasantly surprised.
Joanna V — Google review
After a full day of hiking in RMNP, tacos felt like the perfect reward. This restaurant was close enough to walk to from my hotel, which sealed the deal. The restaurant was moderately busy, so I grabbed a spot at the bar rather than get a table. The lady that greeted me was great and brought me water and a menu right away. It was happy hour, but I declined ordering a drink. I watched three people that sat down after me order food, happy hour drinks, and get served while I sat there still waiting to order food. After waiting longer than it takes to climb a trail switchback, I decided to go elsewhere. The food looked fantastic from afar but, sadly, I never got to try it. The servers were never rude, just distracted with other tasks and diners. Apparently, saying “just water for me” is the bar equivalent of an invisibility cloak. If you’re thirsty for a drink, you might get great service here. If you’re hungry, get a table or maybe pack a snack. I sure wanted some tacos!

We loved this place! Great service, delicious food and nice atmosphere. The classic eggs benedict was the best I have had in a long time and their dressing on their greens is the best!! I need that recipe!! My husband loves corned beef hash and he thought this was one of the best classics he has had. Really good coffee too. Look forward to our next breakfast at the egg of estes!!

This is a nice place. We went on a Friday morning around 9am. This place is very popular, hence they add you to a waiting list which you can view your status on the queue online. The line moves very quick. Once our table was ready, they sat us right away. Our waitress came right after and took our orders. I felt somewhat rushed. Our breakfast came quickly and it was very delicious. They have a good menu, however, I wished they had a bigger option for side dishes as 1 pancake or corn bread … The atmosphere was nice and the place is very good and good for large crowds.

Caught the sunrise at Sprague Lake and then came back this way for breakfast and had a great experience! The breakfast burrito was incredible and the pumpkin pecan waffle was so yummy. We didn’t have to wait around 7:30am. Definitely a great stop to fuel up before hiking!

Delicious food! I had the hikers Benedict with chai tea. Husband had Arizona turkey with Country ranch potatoes. Food portions are definitely shareable if you don't have a big appetite.

The family-friendly spot offers a seasonal menu featuring homemade Italian favorites like spaghetti Bolognese, housemade lasagna, fresh seafood, handmade pasta, pizzas, succulent beef and veal dishes. With options for vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free diners, the restaurant caters to all tastes.
Amazing food and great, prompt service! We got shrimp scampi and baked seafood pasta and we inhaled them. Family friendly even though it’s fancier. Great experience!

What wasn't fine with our Friday lunch was the price to add chicken to my fettuccine alfredo. For $7, i would have expected two chicken breasts, which is a total rip-off. Then the "lunch specials" are nothing special, it's just items on the main menu that they are highlighting and no discount for lunch. The garlic bread was dry and needs to be improved. What was good was that the two vegetarian dishes were very good, but to charge $29 for vegetarian lasagna is ridiculous.

Beautiful location, right on the river. No parking lot on property but parking is close by. It has lots of potential, but the chicken Parmesan tasted like the chicken was old, and about to go bad. The sauce on the spaghetti had an odd flavor that we couldn’t place. The service was almost nonexistent. We had to search for our waiter, drinks would go empty for a while before we could find someone. It was just too expensive for the experience we had.

Never have I felt so uncomfortable with a server as I did tonight. He was snappy, rushing us to order as we arrived, snapped one word answers to questions we had about the menu, generally made us feel as though we had done something wrong! What we had done wrong was choose this place for dinner! The food arrived very quickly, obviously pre prepared. My fettuccine Alfredo .. the sauce was splitting, the pieces of pasta many stuck together making it very thick , and bland taste . Husbands spaghetti with meat sauce was lacking the meat! The outside seating was u comfortable, low benches, high tables , even my tall husband felt uncomfortable , for me my mouth was virtually on level with the plate! A place I would certainly not return to.

The McDonald’s of Italian food. They try to give off a white table cloth vibe but once seated the fast food vibe comes out. Drinks and salad dressing served in plastic solo cups. They clear tables right next to you using black busboy bins like you would at Denny’s. prosecco was served flat… not a single bubble. Food marginal at best. And over priced.

We had our wedding rehearsal dinner here about two weeks ago. There was about 30 of us on a Thursday night. They were so helpful and patient as we updated the head count a couple of times. The restaurant is very large, very spacious. They had all of us seated towards the rear of the restaurant and we loved it. Summit was our wonderful server. Everyone ordered whatever they wanted, drinks, apps, salads, etc. Everyone loved their meals! We ordered the lasagna and it was homemade and very flavorful, others ordered the shrimp scampi, chicken parm, fettuccine alfredo, the ceasar salad we ordered was great. They never rushed us, took excellent care of us and the pricing is really on point. Something for everyone, casual and good value. We highly recommend this venue for a group event, they really took great care of us! We will definitely be back!

Absolutely incredible Italian food. Really good wine list. Fantastic staff! Amazing atmosphere all up in the mountains. Plus they let us have our dogs on the deck.

Coffee on the Rocks

Cafe
Coffee on the Rocks is a charming neighborhood coffee shop with a relaxed atmosphere and outdoor seating near a tranquil duck pond. It's an ideal spot to enjoy a hot cup of freshly brewed coffee while taking in the serene surroundings. The cafe offers a variety of java options, from bold espressos to creamy lattes, all expertly crafted by skilled baristas using carefully selected beans.
This is my new favorite coffee shop! The coffee itself is mediocre, but the atmosphere makes up for it. I enjoyed walking around the pond with my drink and feeding the ducks. I love that they come right up to you and eat out of your hand. I made my husband come here every day of our trip, but unfortunately on the last day we had to leave because the line was out the door and we had to drive back to Wisconsin. I hope I’ll make it back someday!
Kristin T — Google review
This place was adorable. There’s a nice pond to walk around and shady spots to drink coffee. They also have an inside room. For kids (or adults!) they offer food to feed the feisty ducks and geese. I wish we had found this place on our first day instead of our last - especially because they also serve wine/beer/cocktails in the evening. The cold brew was good too :-) Highly recommend.
Mandy T — Google review
We got here early and got before the rush. The workers were so sweet!! They had many recommendations. I will say it is pricey but worth the experience in itself. I had a hot oatmilk latte and the happy camper bagel. Unfortunately my husband's bagel was burnt and we were too shy to go up. But it was so worth the beautiful views, the ducks, and the beautiful fall weather! So beautiful!
Karen E — Google review
I found this place by pure accident, and I couldn’t be happier. Beautiful area with fair pricing for both rocks and coffee. The Rock shop is phenomenal and has a large collection of gems and fossils alike. I cannot recommend this place enough! (They also sell corn inside so you can feed the ducks!)
Maybe B — Google review
Adorable little coffee shop with amazing mountain view! I loved the Bombay chimney latte as well as their breakfast food selection. It was such a fun time feeding the ducks as well!
Allyson K — Google review
Cute little coffee shop with outdoor seating; rock benches & tables (Hence the name!) along the river in Estes Park. We had croissant sandwiches with our lattes. Great ambiance!
P T — Google review
They have a good concept, fews things: A) right locations easy to find B) clean areas C) activity for the kids (small time activities) D) amazing views E) the feeding ducks are pretty popular F) decent menu sizes In the other hands: A) kind of pricey B) staff treat you like a number, pretty much ask you order get out C) if you don’t like your drink order good luck with it! The staff will not do nothing about it! Pretty much you paid already so it’s your lost even if you go and asked for change the drink or anything they will tell you sorry ! Maybe add more cream or something simple D) duck are excessively feeding they are pretty much not hungry at all and you will try your hardest but they won’t eat anymore E) the problem quality of the food it’s pretty much packed food / packed pastry In general it’s an activity to fill up an empty space on your day and avoid be bored but it’s overrated! Because it a tourism place they get away with it but you can direct that money and time in a better activity
Ja D — Google review
Wife and I stopped for coffee, along with a quick bite, following a 7 mile hike in RMNP. Location and atmosphere are park like. While the interior is charming, the outside seating, pond, and walking path are definitely a feature. There was bird feed for purchase and plenty of folks were enjoying giving it away to the local geese/ducks. We tried (2) lattes (a raspberry and chocolate/coconut), The Big Buck (avocado toast), and The Little Duckling (peanut butter toast w/toppings). The coffee was good but didnt really stand out. The toast options were also good but nothing above and beyond. However when you factor in the setting, it was still a nice stop and we would certainly come again. If you are nearby, give it a try!

Wowwww amazing Brewery-Restaurant in the town. I tried great food and beers. My favorite beer it’s IPA and Stinger. The guys of the bar they’re great persons and our server Natalia she is amazing and beautiful lady. The food come to super very fast our table. This brewery it’s in my top 3 beautiful and great brewery’s. Cheers for the beautiful life

Stopped here for lunch on a sunday right at opening. An impressive 2 floor brewery/restaurant. Our server was named Jesus and he was without a doubt the best server I've EVER had at a brewery and or restaurant. The beer was good (i tried 6) however my wife didnt like her first beer she ordered and Jesus replaced it right away no questions asked. No pics of the food but we had the elk burger, crab melts, and the caprase panini, all delicious. Jesus was on the ball the entire hour and was just as impressive as the food and atmosphere. Will definitely be back next time im anywhere close to Estes Park!

Ridiculous food and ridiculous prices. Who gives like 10 fries and 10 beans for $8 each😭. The fries were definitely good though. We got several bunch of items and everything sucked. Even for American standards, the food was bland. No offense but I could cook better and I don’t even know how to turn on the stove. The pizza was atrocious and Italy would perhaps cease all diplomatic relations with the US if they knew how pizza is being made here.
Sai M — Google review
Very sad this brewery has gone downhill. From the moment we walked in it was very clear the customer did not matter. The person pouring our drinks was very unhelpful and gruff when we asked for recommendations. The beer was average as well. The saving grace was the newer manager comping our drinks because of problems with the payment system.
Caleb H — Google review
We got in super quick, our waiter Pranit gave us excellent service, and the food was amazing! I got the Altitude Burger and my wife got the Caprese Panini with chicken! We would definitely get them again! I also got a flight of beers including the blueberry, the Pilsner, porter, and stout. The blueberry is definitely drinkable & delicious. And the porter is one of the best I’ve tried in a while! To top it all off, we got the Mascarpone cake which is big enough for two people!
Brendan H — Google review
Not sure why this brewery only has a 3.5. Who cares because we can have it all to ourselves! 5***** all the way!!! The beer was incredible. From the minute you are welcomed with free tastings and a game of pool to the minute you sit down, they hospitality was generous and lovely. The beers are so delicious. I did a flight which is easily the best way to go because all of them are so good, especially the gold and malt and red ale. Eating at the Hive was outstanding. I had their special bison short rib. Mouthwatering. They were also great with the kids. Would 100% be back. Topped other brewpubs during our stay in Colorado.

Had dinner here twice while on vacation in August. Food was great, service was fast and friendly, and it was very comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. We had the Bison Bolognese, and liked it so much we came back a second time before leaving. Food was all great, I'm not a beer drinker but my husband had a flight and liked what he was drinking. Would recommend and look forward to stopping in again the next time we make it back to Estes Park. Thanks!

Estes Park Brewery is a fine little brewery. It's a 2 story brewery with free tastings of their standard beers and their gift shop on the bottom floor. Upstairs is the restaurant and bar that serves their seasonal beers. On my stop, they had: porter, stout, red, rasberry wheat, blueberry wheat, lager, gold, an ale, and some others. I think the beers were all okay and better than your major brands. The food looked okay but like what I expect at a ski lodge. The service was fine but it did not feel like this was a place to sit and talk about their beers and what they are doing next. Totally worth going here and better than eating/drinking at a chain.

Cheyenne Regional Airport

Regional airport
Cheyenne Regional Airport (CYS) is a charming little gem for travelers, especially those who appreciate the beauty of aviation. With its dedicated observation area, it's an ideal spot for plane enthusiasts to watch aircraft take off and land in peace. The airport boasts a friendly staff that makes check-in and TSA processes quick and efficient—often taking less than 10 minutes!
Enjoyable user friendly airport with two commercial passenger flights per day (United, both to Denver). On our fun trip to watch Georgia Tech beat Colorado in Boulder, we arrived and departed here by choice in order to add some cheap flight segments for our United Mileage Plus program status requalification, and to spend a half day visiting pleasant Cheyenne. We’re happy we did, Cheyenne is fun and it’s easy to hop on I-25 and head down to Boulder, not really a lot more driving than the Denver alternative. This airport currently has one gate, one bar and restaurant, one baggage carousel, and seemingly one staffed rental car company counter (Avis, there is an Enterprise counter but not staffed and could not book an Enterprise car at airport). All great with us! TSA staff opens up specific to flight departure times (fine). Decorated with art for sale like the good ol’ days. Free self serve Keurig coffee inside security at the boarding gate acts as the United Club. 😀 Your feet are the train to the rental car center a.k.a. a close in part of the parking lot up a 3’ high “hill.” What could be better?!
GT H — Google review
I appreciate the ease and convenience of avoiding long security lines at Denver International Airport. However, the downside to using Cheyenne is you are limited to just two flight times a day which is not always optimal. Between the military and private airplanes though, close access to the runway and parking areas makes for good picture taking such as this bird right next to the public parking lot.
Mark S — Google review
Much more enjoyable than driving up from Denver! I recently had my first trip from SLC-DEN-Cheyenne and would definitely recommend flying over driving. The staff was friendly and check-in including TSA took less than 10 minutes.

One diner/bar food so so not fresh stale bread and green tint on roast beef potato salad way too sweet. Bloody Mary was pretty good but mostly ice for the price.

I enjoyed flying with my family on the inaugural flight from Dallas-Fort Worth to Cheyenne on American Airlines (operated by SkyWest) on November 4, 2018. The flight was approximately 90-minutes. I enjoyed the free parking at the new Cheyenne Regional Airport Terminal located at 4020 Airport Parkway West. Staff was friendly and helpful. The plane is a CRJ200 jet that can accommodate approximately 50 passengers. #FlyCheyenne #ThatsWY #Cheyenne
Wendy V — Google review
Unreliable service. United is the only carrier, and they use old planes with maintenance issues, and staff the planes and terminals with a skeleton crew with no margin for error. When there are inevitable delays and cancellations, car rentals are not available on weekends. You WILL miss any connecting flights.
Matthew R — Google review
Friendly tsa check in staff. Luggage is easy. It’s basically one big open room with a check in line. Nothing is open early on Cheyenne anywhere. So good luck on breakfast.
James — Google review
Great little airport in Cheyenne friendly staff and TSA . The new flights out of Cheyenne are a quick flight (1 hour 35 minutes) on a CRJ 200 operated by Skywest (american eagle) to the major Dallas-Ft. Worth International airport. After arriving at DFW you will have to ride the sky tram when catching a connecting flight but it is quick and quite scenic. I arrived at E terminal and my connection was in the A terminal which took about 15 minutes on the Skylink tram. Utilizing the Skylink keeps you in the secure area so you will not have to go through additional TSA checks going from terminal to terminal.

Centennial Airport

Airport
An awesome and busy GA airport. TAC Air and Signature on the ramp. Restaurant onsite and a pilot shop. Awesome ATC in the tower. I love flight training here. For those complaining about noise... the airport has been around since the 60s; many apartment complexes are new. If you want to make a complaint go to their website and there is a form to fill out. Using Google maps isn't really the place to complain... It's an airport. A BUSY airport, of course there is noise. Accessibility: steps on the side doors of the buildings but accessible by the front doors. Parking: many lots in front of each building and accessible spots available! Restrooms: within the buildings Animals: yep and leashed dogs Kid Friendly: yes, however, always keep on eye on children while on the tarmac/ramp
Lea — Google review
Nice airport. Normally pretty quiet but on weekend mornings it can get very busy . Unrelated to the airport itself but the reviews about it being awful and horrible to the community are super biased and these people don’t understand that this airport serves many secondary hospitals across Colorado allowing patients to be connected to major hospitals saving many patients.
Kaden D — Google review
What a wonderful place to go for breakfast or lunch sit quietly enjoying breakfast and watch the planes take off and land. The food and service is amazing.
Kenneth D — Google review
Centennial airport is always amazing. You can rent or charter any plain and helicopter you desire. Great options. Spectacular service. Plus flight schools to teach you anything and everything or more
Vic R — Google review
I would rate a negative 10 if I could. The noise from the small planes from this airport is terrible. We have lived in Parker for 20 years and in the last 5 years the noise has become so much worse. On any given day we have over 100 planes fly over our house and we are over 10 miles from the airport. The planes must be doing flying lessons because they follow the same flight path back to the airport and they are about 60-90 seconds apart. This occurs over and over each hour or the day. Can't even sit outside and have a conversation. Centennial airport obviously cares very little about the surrounding communities.
David S — Google review
Fun place, food is decent, good spot for family or if you want something different. Definitely an old airport and the clientele is a bit geriatric which I don’t mind

Very busy actually #1 Delta in the nation. I stand corrected. A few renovations going on. You can even go to the watch area to see landings and takeoff.

Northern Colorado Regional Airport

Airport
Northern Colorado Regional Airport is making waves with its new United wingless bus service to Denver, priced at just $40 each way. This innovative transport option allows travelers to check their bags all the way to their final destination, ensuring a seamless journey. Upon returning to Denver, passengers can conveniently board the bus from Terminal A as if they were catching a flight.
Went to the airport for a business trip, walked into the main entrance and was greeted by a really nice lady. I believe her name Cheri. She was very helpful and polite.

I live in Las Vegas but born/raised and family in Greeley. I used to fly Allegiant all the time into FNL. After my family missed the grand opening for the new terminal I made them drive me to check it out on my recent visit. So excited but very sad it was still closed and unfinished. I'm wishing you the best of luck at restarting commercial flights and finishing the new terminal.

New United wingless bus service to Denver. $40 each way. This is great. Bag checked to final destination. When I get back to Denver, the bus departs from Terminal A like a flight. My checked bag automatically goes on the bus to FNL. And in November, they hope to have TSA going so you clear security right at FNL and will go straight to the Terminal in DEN. That will be really sweet.

Amazing spectacle of skill and air power with the Blue Angels in town as well as our local flyers. 19 years ago we were here and just had to get back. Kids are older, but still enjoyed watching their Air Force Vet Dad geek out. Thank you to the pilots of the A-10 and F-35. Amazing routines! Let’s not wait another 19 years. Not sure if I’d make that one!
Dennis H — Google review
Came here to watch the Blue angels and let me tell you! What an experience. Everything was clean, and you can tell they took pride in the event. There were a few airport staff but most were for the specific event. I've never had a flight out of this airport, but if I had the decision to, I definitely would. Great experience. Will be returning if I have the chance.
Jessica G — Google review
Surprisingly cramped for an airport out in the sticks. Check-in and security are in a building about the size of a 3-car garage. You then go outside to a modular building which is the gate/sitting area. Both are as crowded as a Calcutta train station. Overflow waits out on the tarmac. Update: Avelo no longer flies here.
Mark P — Google review
We were here (American Legion, SAL, ALA, VFWA) volunteering to cook lunch for Gold Star Families while they got a free viewing of the Great Colorado Air Show with the USN Blue Angels being the big draw. There is np greater honor than serving those families who have witnessed the ultimate sacrifice, the death of a military brother or sister.
Brian B — Google review
They have no respect for the people living nearby. Airshows are so loud and in preperation for their airshow they ruin the sleep of so many people by flying around in circles at night.

Boulder Municipal Airport

Airport
Boulder Municipal Airport, located in North Boulder, Colorado, is a popular spot for college students, recent grads, and tech professionals due to its active atmosphere and easy access to the outdoors. The airport has been serving as a home base for pilots for several years. It features an easy 2.9-mile hike with flat trails offering great views of the flatirons and a lake, making it ideal for families with young kids.
A small airport with lots of 4 seater prop planes. We took our toddlers and sat in the car and watched the planes land and take off. Super fun way to entertain the kids when there is nothing else planned.
Whitney K — Google review
Nice little airport to watch the planes at. Sometimes you can spot the medevac helicopter too. Noise complainers go away. The airport's been there since '28 and is older than you are. "Just fly somewhere else!1!1!1!1!!1!!!!" Like where? Rocky Mountain Metro: oh wait, you're complaining about them too. Longmont: oh wait, you're trying to close that too. Erie, Centennial, all the same old song. Just admit that it's irrational hatred for the airplanes living rent free in your head And next time you're sitting in a fancy Airbus listening to "this is your captain speaking," maybe have a little think about how that voice over the PA started at a little airport just like this one.
Starfleet O — Google review
This has been my home airport for about 2 years, and I can't say enough about what an awesome airport it is! Journeys aviation is a wonderful school, people are awesome and super duper friendly, you get to see cool gliders, planes, and quite often helicopters! This airport is awesome! And for all the people that say things about noise abatement, the airport was founded in 1940, long before you decided to move right next to an airport.
Tomas D — Google review
This has been my home airport for several years. Almost all pilots observe the traffic pattern plan to avoid nearby housing by flying straight out on runway 8 (080°) until at 500 feet above ground, then departing east or north or south. If staying in the pattern, they fly just south of Jay Road, then base leg over the soccer fields, then final over Hayden Lake. For runway 26, it's the reverse of that. This airfield opened in 1940, long before others came.
Tiger F — Google review
Extremely valuable land completely wasted on the ultra wealthy! GUT IT!!!!! Get it out of Boulder!!! Plenty of other places in the state to fly your little planes. Build apartment housing, that thing people actually NEED!
Lexi W — Google review
Incredibly untrue that pilots here respect the noise abatement and traffic patterns. It’s not even occasionally but every single day they fly outside the glider boxes for towing, low over noise sensitive areas, west over 28th street, they don’t power down and so on. I’m sure pilots reading this will be thrilled to see no one does anything about it. This airport is beyond ideal for this area and the power imbalance is all too heavily tipped for pilots. Pilots flying can see hundreds if not thousands of homes. You know how loud a plane is. While some are mindful there are several that don’t seem to care.
Grey B — Google review
Great airport, gliders and flight school
Benjamin G — Google review
If you like planes, you'll give this airport a glowing review like the rest of the pilots here. But those that live here are subject to nonstop (literally) flight noise on weekends. It's become beyond unreasonable. People have been forced out of their homes to rent or buy out of the area exclusively due to this airport and pilots.
