Burton Chace Park

Park
Nature & Parks
Burton Chace Park, established in 1972 in Marina del Rey, is a 10-acre green space named after Burton W. Chace, a prominent figure in Los Angeles County. The park offers stunning views of the harbor and sea, along with amenities such as BBQ grills, picnic tables, and a free summer concert series.
Very peaceful area with great views of the marina and the local wildlife. They have plenty of public grills, just found it odd that they were all under a roof (?). The sea lions are sure to be a hit with the kids. There are some homeless but very minimal compared to other areas.
Fonzie G — Google review
I went to an outdoor concert here. Beautiful area, acceptable bathrooms, and enough space to not feel crowded. That said, we ended up sitting among some of the worst people who talked loudly, and nonstop the entire time. I'll probably come back to the park for a picnic if I'm in the area, but the concert was a nightmare. Again, wonderful artist, great venue, just an all out terrible audience.
Daria W — Google review
What a beautiful park! Great for picnics! The ocean breeze and such a beautiful Marina and boat rides, concerts in the park and reasonable rates to rent the community building or the Pagodas for parties. Clean restrooms, Really enjoyed spending time here.
L.A. D — Google review
A nice waterfront park to relax and enjoy! 🌅 ✨ Highlights: • Great spot to catch the sunset and take a peaceful stroll. • Plenty of open space and seating areas, including shaded spots. • You might even spot seals near the water! 🦭 • Perfect for birthday parties, barbecues 🍗, or picnics. • Boat rides are available for just $1 — fun and affordable. Big trees 🌳 to enjoy ⚠️ One note: the parking lot can be a bit stinky at first, but once you’re in the park, it’s fresh and enjoyable. Overall, a relaxing place for families, kids, and gatherings by the water. 🌊
Ramya G — Google review
The water bus service here is wonderful. Runs from June through August. Fisherman’s Village and Mother’s beach are the other two popular stops with lots of restaurants and things to do. Very friendly and family friendly atmosphere with occasional concerts and festival decorations throughout the year.
Soumyaroop N — Google review
This is a beautiful park, even on gloomy, cloudy days like the day I visited. Lots of nice views and places to see and admire them. If you’re a fan of squirrels, I think you’ll especially love this park. It’s full of fox squirrels, the kind that are used to people and expect to be served by them. They’re very cute, and they’re everywhere.
Ben — Google review
Another visit to Burton Chase Park however I brought a friend who live in Baltimore, she was very impressed. We were able to walk around the grounds and see the stage that was being prepared for "disco night". We weren't able to stay for the fun, she had a 9p flight. I was at the park last year for a concert. My family was celebrating a birthday, it was a lot of fun.
Micki K — Google review
Have been coming to this park for years. No playground for kids but mine lived using their scooters on the many pathways around the park. Lovely setting amongst the water and enjoyed watching the boats. Plenty of grilling options as well as picnic areas under the huge trees. Love it.

Fisherman's Village in Marina del Rey is a must-visit tourist attraction that offers a delightful mix of dining options and exciting activities. The village is designed like a charming New England-style fishing village, featuring brightly painted wooden buildings, commercial boat docks, a water fountain, and a lighthouse. It also boasts the world's largest man-made harbor for small boats.
We went on the 4th of July weekend. We strolled the area after we had lunch at a nearby restaurant. There are good restaurants with beautiful views in the village. The place wasn't very crowded, there was music with a DJ, people were dancing. It's just a beautiful vibe to enjoy the weekend! And, you can take the city cruise. The best $2 40-minute boat ride.⛵️😁
Nellie B — Google review
We visited on a Sunday evening. It’s a calm and quiet spot — not too happening, but nice if you’re looking for a peaceful outing. ✨ What to expect: • Beautiful sunset and skyline views with boats in the backdrop. • Affordable boat rides (around $1) in the backwaters. • Several waterfront restaurants and cafes, great for a meal or drink. • Plenty of parking space. • Small carousel 🎠 and bike ride for kids. Good place to visit if you live nearby and want to relax by the water. 🌊
Ramya G — Google review
A wonderful place where the ocean seems to smile down on you! The view of the bay and sailboats is simply a postcard, especially with a cocktail in hand and a whole weekend ahead. The restaurants are excellent—you can come for lunch and just stay until dinner. The only downside is that there's no live music on weekends anymore. It used to be magical: sun, food, and someone singing about their love for the sea and beautiful girls! Now all you can do is sing to yourself, but the crowd is definitely welcoming! 🎶⛵🍹
Vadim S — Google review
Good place to maybe eat and take a couple of boat rides, but that's it. It's more for people that live there. The waterbus was ok. Most of the stops were all apartment buildings. Meaning, nothing to see or do. Everything is at fisherman's village. Once that's done, it's a wrap.... time to go home.
David W — Google review
Quick afternoon walk near Lax. We came for the sea lions and we saw them!! Walking along the marina with small shops and saw dancing ladies that afternoon! Such a great vibe! Perfect for those having a quick stopover in LA.
Tester F — Google review
Nice little fisherman's wharf area with restaurants, boutique shops, bike rentals, escape rooms, and boat rides. Got to enjoy the seals and wildlife at the harbor. Great for biking and for taking walks along the harbor. Plenty of paid parking but no public restrooms.
Yung P — Google review
There aren’t that many stores and the parking machines aren’t kept up. Watching the birds, the boats, the sea lions, and the people is kind of fun. There were people dancing to music. That wad kind of cool.
Ben P — Google review
Cute place by the water. Nice to walk with a nice view. We saw seals out stealing the poor fisherman's catches. Restaurants and refreshment places around. The crepe place was great.

Marina Del Rey Beach

Mentioned on

Marina Del Rey Beach, also known as Mothers Beach, is a family-friendly and safe destination with calm waters, making it perfect for children to swim. The beach offers picnic areas, volleyball courts, playground equipment, and various activities for visitors of all ages. Recent improvements have added modern amenities to enhance the overall experience. This picturesque paradise is ideal for a scenic escape and creating envy-inducing Instagram posts. Additionally, the area boasts numerous restaurants and cafes nearby and is pet-friendly.
It’s a great place to walk/ sit down and watch the sunset. My friend and I go here all the time. It’s clean, there’s tonnes of restaurants and cafes nearby and it’s pet friendly! Highly recommended! Only downside: parking can be a little difficult.
Aadya C — Google review
Negative first: bird poo and their food debris = don't touch the railings or focus on the smell! Positives: the views even on a cloudy, foggy day are amazing!! I saw dolphins on one side of the Pier, and possibly (not confirmed...yet) orcas on the other! There are beautiful quotes down the pier and it's a great people watching spot! $9 parking is also a big plus during the week!
Shayleh P — Google review
Marina Del Rey Beach: Where the sand is finer than my attempts at small talk, and the waves are smoother than my dance moves. If beauty were a beach, it would definitely take notes from this picturesque paradise. 10/10 would recommend for a scenic escape and to make my Instagram followers jealous!

I love my backyard and its sunsets

Great area to bike ride 🚲
Stephanie H — Google review
It was a beautiful beach, I stopped on my way to Redondo, however there was something wrong with my map App! You put in Marina Del Rey Beach and it takes you to this little side street, I apologize for no pictures. I didn't have a place to park! I'm sure I could have entered something else but I didn't want to inconvenience the people that owned the driveway I was parked in🤪 I suggest that you find parking first.
Kim R — Google review
Thoroughly enjoyed our time at the beach and sailing. Highly recommend putting this on your list of places to see and sale.

The Marina del Rey Visitors Center, located at 4701 Admiralty Way, is a valuable resource for visitors. The center offers free maps, brochures, and activity suggestions to help guests make the most of their time in Marina del Rey. Additionally, visitors can inquire about promotions and discounts available in the area. The center's knowledgeable staff are eager to assist with directions, event information, and restaurant recommendations.
Open 7 days a week! Limited hours, but how wonderful is that??? Free parking on the premises. Enter parking from Admiralty Way, or from Mindinao Way. The staff was very friendly and efficient. I got my yearly Beach Parking Pass here today.
Eriko P — Google review
Perfect for information! The attendant was knowledgeable and very kind! Got all the info we needed for the area 🙏
Brandon B — Google review
I gave Marina Del Rey a four because I have never talked to a human here in several visits placed over four years. No public rest rooms. Basic information was supplied about Marina Del Rey outside posted to bulletin boards and doors. Still, the information was enough for basic exploring.
Charles B — Google review
We loooove Marina del Rey! I had never been there but we had a layover at LAX last year and we skipped over to the marina for a few hours. We ended up staying there two days and rebooked our flight! The Visitor Center is a credit to the town. The people were fantastic, really nice to us. The found us a great hotel and some nice restaurants, and they spent a lot of time teaching us how to enjoy the water - and there must be literally dozens of different ways to play in the water at Marina del Rey. We were landlubbers when we arrived, now we feel like old salts. Thank you visitor's center!
Steph S — Google review
Not a visitor center. The staff are busy doing their work and have little intention to provide any useful tourist information. They barely answer your questions. The building is sizable implying there is a lot of tax money going in there. Unfortunately, the visitors’ area is limited to just 1/50 of the entire building in our assessment, a mere entry foyer opened to the public. A shame. It should be closed down. My husband and I are visitors from DC who have traveled US in the last 10 months. The worst place among the places labeled as a visitor center.
HyeSook L — Google review
You don't need to own a yacht or be a pirate, to benefit from the beauty of this harbor. Great for leisurely strolls with a canine unit or by yourself. Wildlife and people life galore, all by the sea. If you weren't thinking about life on the sea before, you will be by the time you leave.
Bucko F — Google review
The visitor's center was closed when we were there. However, there was an awesome winter festival going on complete with snow cannons, a sledding hill, a gingerbread bouncy house, food trucks, and more!
Hannah B — Google review
This is a great resource if you are visiting Marina del Rey. You can get directions, find out about events, or get a good tip on a restaurant

Wetland
Ballona Wetlands, located near Playa Del Rey, is a diverse natural area featuring tidal channels, salt marshes, coastal dunes, and freshwater marshes. While some habitats have diminished over time, the Ballona Lagoon and the Del Rey Lagoon remain. Visitors can enjoy a peaceful walk amidst beautiful waterfowl and other bird species in this protected land. Despite being close to the road in some areas, it offers a serene escape into nature for all to appreciate.
All the homeless encampments have been removed now and this beautiful natural space is kept clean and mess free. There’s a good biking trail all the way from Playa del Rey through the river canal to the wetlands. Definitely recommend for birdwatching and relaxing in nature.
Lilly R — Google review
The Ballona Wetlands are a beautiful, preserved natural area. There’s a short walking path where you can see birds and other wildlife. It’s quiet and feels far removed from the city. Bring binoculars if you’re into birdwatching. Parking is free and easy. A peaceful nature break in the middle of LA.
Edwin G — Google review
It is surrounded by homeless encampments, RVs, and trash. Where do we think these people are going to the bathroom? Such a shame that decades of conservation work have been turned into a giant toilet for vagrants.
Tom D — Google review
Great trail to run or walk or even absorb nature
Efrain U — Google review
Part of the trail that looks like a loop on the map is closed off, and the open part I walked was right next to the road, so don't expect to get away from it all, but it's a sweet little marsh with lovely waterfowl (not just mallards)! I didn't have binoculars, but I think maybe shovelheads and coots.

Stunning area to visit and walk through ! Highly recommend if you love real estate and enjoy seeing different style of houses and also the flower and plants diversity is insane !
Antoine S — Google review
We stumbled upon the Venice Canals by chance, and it turned out to be one of the most calming and beautiful walks of our trip. The neighborhood is filled with charming bridges, picturesque homes, and peaceful water views. It’s the perfect spot for an evening stroll, especially around sunset when the light reflects off the water. Free to visit, quiet, and very relaxing and highly recommend if you’re looking for a slower, more peaceful side of Venice.
Vini J — Google review
Walking through the Venice Canals is so peaceful. Hearing the birds and wind chimes is so peaceful. Great place for pictures and walking off your brunch, lunch and or dinner. This is the zin area of Venice. Some of the bridges are decorayed for a beautiful back drop for pictures.
Marian G — Google review
I spent an afternoon strolling along the Venice Canals, and it was such a peaceful experience. It’s a nice alternative to the crowded Venice Beach boardwalk. The homes along the canals are gorgeous, and there’s a serenity here that’s hard to find in LA. I highly recommend walking around and taking some photos. It’s a hidden spot that’s definitely worth the visit.
Katelyn P — Google review
Driving over the bridges is cool. The canals are beautiful. The street is one way.
Bshara S — Google review
The water level was really low, but I still managed to get some great photos while walking before sunrise. This is how they turned out.
Jaeoh K — Google review
The Venice Canals are such a serene and beautiful place to take a walk. I’ve lived in LA for years, but I only discovered this hidden spot recently. It feels like a little piece of Europe in the middle of Venice. The canals are surrounded by charming houses, and the whole area is peaceful and quiet. It’s perfect for a morning stroll or an afternoon walk with your dog

SALT Restaurant & Bar is a stylish dining spot situated by the Marina del Rey Hotel pool, offering a variety of seafood, steak, and cocktails. The restaurant features a well-kept secret happy hour on weekdays from 4 to 6 pm with great deals on quality appetizers and drinks, accompanied by priceless harbor views.
From start to finish I had an amazing experience. I was very impressed with the kind and attentive service, especially from Ginger. She was a pleasure to talk to and made sure I was well satisfied, along with the other very nice woman. I had the avocado himmus, pheonomenal, and the seabass, excuistite, had a great view too, very relaxing overall. I would come again and with friends for sure
Cassie R — Google review
We had breakfast with a view at Salt Restaurant during our weekend stay at the Marina del Rey Hotel. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, and we were seated right away. The staff were attentive, and the atmosphere was relaxing. I’d definitely come back for drinks at sunset to enjoy the view.
Mayi B — Google review
We were seated immediately, our server was always attentive. Made several recommendations. Drinks came out quickly. The chowder was amazing and savory. Really loved the food.
Brian M — Google review
We dropped in for a quick bite after a long trip returning from Paris. The restaurant was busy due to the hotel hosting a conference. We were seated in an area that felt like an overflow section. Nice, not setup for guests. Still nice. Especially next to the port and docks. Our meals were excellent.
Jim R — Google review
It's a beautiful restaurant hidden within the hotel. We went for my birthday. The food was fantastic. Everyone in our party (4 of us) absolutely loved our food! Our waiter was nice and attentive. We will definitely be back!
Ally B — Google review
I came to Salt while visiting Marina Del Rey and had their loco moco, chilaquiles and calamari. It was fresh and delicious and the view is soothing!
Viviana C — Google review
I’ve stayed at this hotel twice now and eaten at the restaurant several times during both trips. The food’s actually pretty decent, and for a hotel restaurant the prices aren’t bad either. But the service? Honestly some of the worst I’ve ever seen. If you’re not sitting right in front of the bartender, you may as well be invisible. The views are great, whether you sit inside looking out at the harbour or outside with the panorama, but good luck enjoying them when you’re stuck waiting forever with an empty glass, no food, and staff who clearly don’t care. It’s pretty unfortunate.
Nikita D — Google review
Yikes… we were not in a hurry but the service was beyond slow. We made a reservation and were looking forward to trying it out but we’re very disappointed. Our server was completely disinterested in checking on us or keeping water full on an extremely hot day. There were numerous servers and the restaurant was barely 1/3 of capacity. There was no reason for it to go this slow. They also didn’t bring our main entrees out at the same time either. Food was fine but not worth the wait. We definitely will not be back. It’s unfortunate because it was a beautiful view.

We went here to go kayaking in the Marina and they gave us great instructions on what to do how etc before we got our kayak. The Marina was a great place for an hour of Kayaking and checking stuff out, too. I will definitely be back!

I learned how to sail here in 2005, and am constantly trying to get others to come learn as well. I'm excited that my wife is taking Sailing I soon so she can get promoted from just being my crew ;)
David S — Google review
Wonderful place to get kayaking or sailing classes. I did not this place existed, and I've been to Marina del rey quite a few times. It's also beautiful for a jog, bike ride, or just the scenery when you get to the end of the walk.
Heena — Google review
Wow. All watesports. Learn, and play. Thanks to UCLA. Open to the public. No experience needed to rent kayaks and paddleboard. Lessons for sailing, windsurfing etc are slightly cheaper if you join UCLA Recreation.
Californian W — Google review
Perfect kayaking experience and great staff.
Buck H — Google review
This is without question the best water sports and activities facility in the entire Marina Del Rey area. Stand up paddle boarding, windsurfing, kayaking, sailing, rowing, and surfing are all available to the public via this facility; however, most activities do require a site issued certification, unlike other rental places. UCLA students and alumni are privy to some perks like discounts on classes and equipment rental, and hours are limited to mornings and evenings on weekdays. Despite all the details, the facility is a gorgeous nook of semi-privatr space at the open end of the Marina, and easily boasts one of the best properties in the entire area.
Anacron — Google review
Good sailing and surfing classes! Instructors are pretty all over the place but all love sailing and know their stuff. Sailing dingy rental rates are pretty good but really worth the monthly rate sailing pass.

Italian restaurant
C&O Restaurants is a popular Italian eatery with a convivial atmosphere and generous portions. Located in Marina del Rey, it offers an outdoor patio where the staff hosts nightly sing-alongs. The restaurant is known for its unlimited complimentary supply of garlic knots drenched in olive oil and butter. While the pasta may not be exceptional, the famous garlic knots are a must-try.
If you're looking for a place that is cozy and the staff is welcoming, this Italian place will not disappoint. From the moment we arrived we were welcomed with warm smile that made us feel right home. The bread to so delicious and the pastas are amazing. We had 5 different dishes and the portions are nice and big. The service is above the rest, always checking on you. Bringing you refills for your drinks and bread. A nice variety of wine, spirits and mixed drinks. If you decide to visit this place it will be the best decision you make in 2025.
Jose R — Google review
Excellent food, lots of selection and what we got was very tasty. Portions are huge order accordingly. And the advice the waiter provides on the amazing unlimited garlic knots is spot on. Too many and you will not be able to eat your food. Service was attentive and quick.
Tabitha R — Google review
The service here is absolutely top-notch — warm, attentive, and really makes you feel welcome. They’re famous for their garlic knots, and I can confirm they are absolutely delicious. The staff kept bringing them throughout the meal, and they’re definitely a highlight. I tried the ribs, which were soft and tender, though I felt they could have used a little more flavour. The mashed potatoes on the side were unfortunately a little cold and bland. Desserts are a highlight — definitely try the Snickers one, it’s fantastic. The atmosphere is lively and fun, with a strong Italian theme. As an Italian myself, I didn’t find the flavours to be fully authentic, but I can appreciate the effort, even when singing happy birthday in some form of Italian to customers. Happy hour only applies if you are at the bar, not at the tables. They have parking on site, but unfortunately you have to pay $10 for it, so I personally turned around and was able to find free street parking nearby.
F T — Google review
This is hands down one of my favorite Italian restaurants! I’ve been a regular here for years, and no matter what you order, it’s always exceptional. From the fresh, crispy garlic knots to the perfectly cooked calamari — everything is delicious. My go-to dish (and one I always recommend) is the Penne Genovese — trust me, you’ll be satisfied! The service is always great and the staff stays on top of everything. The vibe depends on where you sit: indoors feels cozy and homey, while the outdoor area has a more modern and casual feel. Definitely a must-try spot!
AŃT A — Google review
The food are good, good portion. Great service, we will surely come back. The server are nice funny and friendly. We had the outdoor dinning a li’l bit tight but we can manage to go around.

Zlatna, our server was so attentive and absolutely amazing this evening. It was our last hoorah dinner at C&O since we're leaving CA and moving to the Northeast. Everything was delicious just how it always has been for many years. Shout out to the other staff too.
Janet A — Google review
So we almost forgot to take pictures, excuse the sloppy plates, we dug right in! The plates were perfectly plated! We enjoy unlimited grilled knots, crispy calamari, fire-grilled shrimp, chicken fettuccine pesto, and Pappardella shrimp, all of which are delicious! We shared the dishes among the three of us and had leftovers!

The views are great, whether you sit inside looking out at the harbour or outside with the panorama, but good luck enjoying them when you’re stuck waiting forever with an empty glass, no food, and staff who clearly don’t care. It’s pretty unfortunate.

SUGARFISH by sushi nozawa

Mentioned on
3 lists

Sushi restaurant
SUGARFISH by sushi nozawa is a celebrated local sushi chain known for serving traditional rolls and sake in a chic, intimate space. The restaurant exclusively offers fresh-fish sushi in a bright, airy environment. The master chef decides on the fixed menu each day based on his knowledge of what's most flavorful. Located at the Waterside center, it's especially popular and has quite a small interior, so there may be a wait.
Got the light sushi lunch set, just the right amount of food for a light, quick lunch. It included edamame, the sashimi dish, the three pieces of sushi, and a tuna hand roll. All dishes were served quickly and all delicious and fresh. Really love this place!
Mark B — Google review
Sugarfish was a decent experience overall. The atmosphere had the right vibes, but the space was pretty cramped, with tables close together, making it feel a bit crowded. It was hard to avoid overhearing conversations from the table next to us, which made it feel less intimate. This particular location is quite small, tucked away in a corner of a shopping center, which added to the feeling of being in a cozy, somewhat crowded space. Despite the noise and tight seating, the service was impressive. The staff was quick to attend to us, and every waiter was incredibly friendly and attentive. They made sure we had everything we needed and took care of our table efficiently, even though the atmosphere was loud and busy. As for the food, it was decent but not mind-blowing. We decided to try the $46 course, which gave us an experimental experience, offering a mix of sushi and hand rolls. While everything was fine, it wasn't anything that stood out too much, except for the hand rolls, which were definitely the highlight. They were fresh, flavorful, and well-made, really elevating the meal. Overall, while the food was decent and the service excellent, the tight space and noise might not be ideal for those looking for a more relaxed dining experience. However, if you're in the mood for fresh sushi and don't mind the bustling atmosphere, Sugarfish could be a solid choice.

I'm giving 1 stars for a point to be made. I am a highly trained food critic. I have loved Sugar Fish and have been a big supporter for over 10 years. There's nothing I will critique about the food or service. BUT, Sugar Fish corporate cannot afford to provide filtered water to their customers? I sat at the bar, indulging in my Sugar Fish experience, complete with Nozawa Trust Me, unfiltered sake and Nigiri add-ons. Then I went to wash my palate with a glass of water. All I tasted was Los Angeles tap water, loaded with chlorine. It too Nozawa from a 5 star high end classy establishment to a Motel 6 , ghetto burger shack. Ridiculous!

I have said for many years and continue to say Sugarfish is one of my favorite sushi spots in Los Angeles. I actually think they have some of the best albacore in the entire city. I have been to many of their locations, but this was my first time at this MDR location. It’s located in a large shopping center so there is plenty of free parking right out front. It’s not very large, but it can host a good amount of parties, but would be best for groups of 4 or less. Our server was really polite and as always everything that we ordered came out very fast. Every time I get Sugarfish for dinner I always do the Nozawa Trust Me, which is what I did for this dinner as well. I think it gives the best variety and for the most part has the largest amount of protein. I also added some Sweet Shrimp Nigiri on the side because it’s truly one of my favorites and it just melts in your mouth. I would highly recommend ordering both and I will be back many times again in the future.

Very fresh fish, loved the crab handroll, great tasting menu options. It was a little uncomfortably hectic during lunch but people were still getting seated as walk-ins. Casual atmosphere.

Amazing and consistent as always! Great casual omakasse style meal. They are the closest in terms of the quality we experience in Tokyo in terms of their fish and their warm rice seasoned to perfection in their Nigeria. Highly recommend the salmon nigiri there.
VIVIAN V — Google review
Good fresh sushi, but DARE ask for a different sauce or anything not on the menu and you will be dismissed . I asked for ponzu and they wouldn’t oblige. This is a No Tip restaurant BUT they have a 16 percent service charge. NO THANKS there are way too many places who are accommodating.. dont bother..
Diane C — Google review
Way overpriced and overrated! If you have a huge appetite then DON'T COME HERE! you will need to spend a few hundred to get full lol the food is fresh but the amount of food they serve is basically crumbs. You will leave starving like you came in if your budget is $50. They are one of those restaurants that serve 2 sushi pieces on a full size plate trying to make it look like you are getting a lot. They use too much sauce and the rice kept coming apart when I picked up my sushi when chopsticks. Another negative is that they have a mandatory 16% gratuity even if your service was horrible! On top of the mandatory gratuity that gratuity is also taxed. So not only are you forced to give a 16% tip but you are also forced to pay taxes on their tip for them! I will not be returning!

Scopa Italian Roots

Italian restaurant
Scopa Italian Roots is a spacious and stylish gastropub that offers a modern twist on traditional Italian cuisine. The industrial-chic dining room and lively bar scene set the stage for an impressive menu curated by chef Antonia Lofaso. The restaurant serves up hot and cold antipasti, along with an array of pasta dishes that showcase Lofaso's handmade, al dente creations.
It was a true privilege to capture the joy and celebration at this wonderful lady's milestone birthday party. Surrounded by an incredible circle of friends, her happiness was radiant. One of the most rewarding aspects of my work is the opportunity to explore new locations, connect with fascinating people, and experience vibrant atmospheres. This event was a delightful blend of delicious food, lively company, and pure celebration.
L L — Google review
Went there for dinner with friends and had a lively and lovely time: wine, food, service and the atmosphere. First of all, the wine was amazing. The somalier was so attentive and when we told her in detail what we wanted, she picked this amazing bottle of Frappato. So good we ended up having 2 bottles! Next, the food was excellent. The ordered ricotta stuffed flash fried squash blossoms, stuffed mushrooms (temperature HOT so becareful), and the beets salad with burrata and bread was amazing. We were pretty full so decided to split the lamb ragu parpadelle, clam linguine and chicken parmesan with butter bucatini. All the pastas were cooked to perfection and the sauces were a dream. The service was efficient and right amount of friendly (smile and positive vibes but not interrupting your conversation) from the hostess, server and the busser. The atmosphere is masculine with leather couches but big windows and high ceiling made it simply elegant and clean. Low lighting so the tables are romantic enough and the bar area was a bit more modern and brighter. Everyone there were happy to be there and the atmosphere of the patrons was electric and lively.
Hells B — Google review
What a great meal! My husband and I both agree that the restaurant is a perfect 4.5, but since half points aren’t an option, I’m opting for a 5. Here’s why… the food was so tasty, nicely portioned, and imaginative. Well done! We were greeted warmly, and received a very nice anniversary card upon arrival, the atmosphere was very lively, fun, and beautiful - a rare thing theses days in LA. The cons were obviously the very high price, our waiter often disappeared for long periods of time, and the free anniversary dessert (a scoop of gelato) was so disgusting that neither of us ate past the first bite. Think “bottom of the freezer, been there for months ice cream” taste. And yet… the overall experience was wonderful, and well worth a second visit, especially with the Amex credit. Definitely order the grilled bread! You wont be sorry 💗

Antonia Lofaso is one of my favorite TV chefs. I was so excited to visit Scopa, and it did not disappoint! It's hard to pick a favorite food because everything we had was so good. I personally loved the Creste Rigate pasta, the calamari, and the Fluffernutter, which was genuis! Such a treat, and I can't wait to eat here again when I'm back in SoCal!
Shelley K — Google review
The restaurant had a nice stylish warm vibe. We ordered the crispy squid ink calamari. Not the most appetising dish to look at, but it certainly turned out to be delicious. This was our first visit here and would look forward to returning to try other menu options.

I had the linguini, I didn’t know what it meant when people say that the clams tasted like the sea, but today I finally do. Food was amazing, especially the Riacatta (housemade cheese with bread). I am usually not a big fan of cheese, but the cheese here goes so well with the bread. The lovely waiter also sent out a fresh batch of bread so that we could finish up the remaining cheese!! 🥰🥰🥰 My friends got the Steak Tartare, Scallops, as well as the Roasted Chicken to share. Would absolutely recommend people to come here next time!!

Tried the Lasagna and the Crispy Squash Blossom. Both dishes were delicious and full of flavor. Will definitely be back here again to try more!

This place is perfect, Been here more than 5 times. Everything on their menu never disappoints their food is so scrumptious!! I definitely recommend giving this place a try, on certain days they have live music playing plus the amazing view of the marina is just perfect! Perfect place for happy hour great prices and great quality! I would say i wish their brunch menu was bigger would be lovely if they had a breakfast menu for brunch that provided some pancakes. Other than that this place is just beautiful the décor and set up is so cute like tiki vibes! Wish the bar would stay open longer !

Took my beautiful better half here for the first time to enjoy lunch on the outside patio and she loved it so much she's already ready to go back! We ordered a couple of the famous Mai Tai drinks and they didn't disappoint one bit. Shoot we even order 2 more after the food was brought to the table. Now concerning the food 🤯 it was just excellent and I mean we both enjoyed both dishes, but she saved a little to take home to eat it later. The mash potatoes were spot on I highly recommend ordering the mashed potatoes with whatever dish you're ordering you won't be disappointed!!! We definitely will be heading back here for lunch again real soon to try something else on the menu. If you plan on going to dinner I recommend that you set a reservation for you and your party especially if you want to sit outside on the patio because it's limited seating out there. Thinking about inviting my brother and his wife from Chino so we can take them there for dinner I'm sure that they will love it as much as we did.

Is absolutely top-notch at this fantastic restaurant! Inside and out feels like an old rustic warehouse on the Bayou. The exterior dining area overlooks the marina, and the inside offers a romantic ambience. Food was absolutely fantastic! The filet mignon was cooked to perfection and my children enjoyed Very inexpensive kids meals.

A fun restaurant located in Marina Del Rey offering an eclectic atmosphere and American food. It's located next to the pier so you get a good view of the water and yachts. We came in during the day on a weekend for lunch and there was no wait for the patio seating. If you come in for dinner, it's wise the make a reservation. The restaurant has a parking lot and the fee is $3.50 before 3 PM and $7.00 after 3 PM. The food is solid and has a big portion, so it's good value for the money. We ordered the stewed lamb chop and it was tender and delicious.

The food was delicious, spectacular sunset view of the marina, amazing drinks, and staff was attentive. We came for 10th anniversary and a birthday which included a complimentary dessert with a candle. This is my new favorite CA restaurant, I will definitely return for the filet and jumbo prawns!

The restaurant prides itself on serving upscale comfort food with unique touches in most dishes. From homemade English muffins to conical containers for fries, the attention to detail is evident. The menu features a variety of made-from-scratch meals including breakfast standards served daily until 2 PM, sandwiches, meatloaf, ribs, steaks, pork chops, salads, and pizzas.
J Nichols Kitchen is a true gem in the West Los Angeles dining scene. Whether you’re stopping in for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, this spot delivers consistently great food, warm service, and a welcoming atmosphere that makes you want to come back again and again. One standout on the menu is their Reuben sandwich—hands down one of the best I’ve had. The corned beef is perfectly tender, the sauerkraut is just the right balance of tangy and crisp, and the Swiss cheese melts beautifully into the toasted rye bread. Every bite is packed with flavor, and it’s clear that they take pride in using high-quality ingredients. Beyond the Reuben, the entire menu is well-crafted, offering a mix of classic comfort dishes and fresh, modern takes. The service is always friendly, and whether you’re dining in or taking food to go, you can expect a great experience. If you’re looking for a reliable, delicious spot in Los Angeles with a laid-back yet elevated feel, J Nichols Kitchen is a must-visit. Highly recommended!

The food at J Nichols was really good! The pancakes were extremely delicious, the sweet potato fries were perfectly cooked, and the French toast was also very tasty. The chipotle chicken sandwich could have used a little more chicken, but it still had great flavor. The waitress was kind and attentive, which made the experience even better. It does get very busy here on weekends, so expect a bit of a wait but the food is worth it. I’ll definitely be going back

The menu didn't seem promising, but the food was very good, great! Service and excellent wine. Only thing is that it's a bit dark for my liking, I wish they would have opened the black shade curtains on the big windows.

When we moved back to California years ago our first apartment was in the Marina Del Rey area. It was great, a nearby walk-able Starbucks, a Gelson's and J. Nichols restaurant. That was 20 some years ago. We had a chance to revisit the area last week, and to head back to Nichols for dinner. We were happily blown away with the food and the remodel there. Nichols had been a go to for both breakfast and lunch years ago. It has since remodeled, looking to upscale with lots of dark woods and cutting down on counter seating. We found the look classy, a bit darker than my taste but not off-putting. We use to like the counter for breakfast, so there's that. The food was great. I had the Reuben sandwich, with french fry's. The sandwich was well made, a little burnt cheese escaping and adding a classy touch. Lots of meat, bread with crunch and a lovely toast. The fry's were great as well, hot, crispy and well salted. It is served with a side of very thinly sliced dill pickle on the side, a delightful tangy treat. Nancy had the grilled cheese sandwich with tomato slices and a bowl of tomato soup. This is not a light sandwich. Thick and cheesy good, thick tomato slices and a hardy soup. She raved about the sandwich, I think the soup was not a highlight. Well, everyone needs some room for improvement, right? We both had a craft beer and their selection was good. The menu is fairly broad, with great choices. I really was tempted by the meatloaf with mashed potatoes, I remembered it from the old days. I have to say, our trip there was well worth the time and cost.

Upon entering, guests are greeted with the Japanese tradition of removing shoes and wearing provided sandals at low, sunken tables. The restaurant prides itself on serving incredibly fresh fish, including a succulent toro trio when in season.
I tried so many different sushi restaurants and this place might become one of my favorites. I honestly didn't expect much since it was a sushi restaurant inside a mall, but I was pleasantly surprised. The fish was delicious! I've been to sushi restaurants where the food is way more expensive and didn't even come close to the freshness or the flavors of this place. The ocean trout special and live sweet shrimp were my favorite. I wasn't very impressed by the roll that I got but maybe I'll try out something else next time. The toro toast was interesting and delicious too. I think they have a lunch special during the weekdays too. My server was also so polite and friendly. Incredible customer service. Would highly recommend if you live around the area!

Food was overall incredible but had one really chewy piece of salmon sushi that was a special for $16 so had to nix 2 stars. But go here!! The food is great and they are so nice

Fantastic place. Kind of hidden in a strip mall in Marina Del Rey. The sushi is fantastic. Standouts with the albacore fried onion roll and the soft shell crab, as well as all nigiri (butter hotate, ocean trout, o-toro). Nice vibe as well, with cute seating where you legs kind of hide under the table. Not trying to be too “vibey” - just authentically a cool, nice yet chill spot. And finally by far the best value to quality sushi I’ve seen in ages. Everywhere these days either seems to be low quality crab salad sushi, or “omakase only.” This strikes a needed balance, and I’d trust omakase or a la carte here.
Ryan W — Google review
Irori Sushi in LA exceeded my expectations! The uni with caviar was incredibly fresh, and the toro bowl topped with uni was rich and delicious. The hand rolls were perfectly crafted with well-seasoned rice and crisp seaweed. The fried shrimp heads added a fun crunch, and every dish showcased the chef’s attention to detail. Cozy atmosphere, attentive service, and authentic flavors – highly recommend for a memorable sushi experience!

Omgoodness what a beautiful neighborhood gem! Went here for a date night on a Friday night, I didn't go inside so can't speak to the inside but the back patio is so cute with lights, speaker, and heaters if needed. The service was warm and thorough, what I assume is an Italian family owned restaurant. That pasta texture o.m.g. perfectly al dente with so much flavor and the perfect chewiness. I loved my dish the rigatoni al sugo di Manzo, the short rib was so soft and good. My partner got the pappareelle al cinghiale, sauce was a little sweet for my liking but the noodles again were amazing. Meatballs were also so good, the flavor was 10/10. Even the bread and olive oil and vinegar were delicious lol. A little on the pricier side but I feel like with a location on Lincoln and also with the quality of the food, definitely worth it for a nice night out. Can't wait to come back.

What a delightful dining experience for a Mother's Day brunch. People here are very friendly and the food is excellent. The outdoor dining patio is cute with good vibes. With the LA sun, we really enjoyed the outdoor dining environment. This is our first time here. For Mother's Day, the restaurant offers a special brunch/lunch menu. The vino selection is extensive. We had a glass of Chardonnay to go with our food. Delectable wine paired perfectly with our seafood meal. Although this is our first time here, we were impressed with the food. The calamari appetizer was extraordinary. The batter on the calamari was flaky and crispy. We loved it. The main dishes were fabulous. For the Linguine Alla Positano and the Branzino, the flavor and the texture of the pasta were amazing. These dishes were delicious. Since we are in an Italian restaurant, a meal wouldn't be complete without a lasagna. The Lasagna Al Sugo Di Vitello at this restaurant with the brown meat and the red tomato sauce looked mouth watering. The creamy cheese made this dish so yummy. We glad that we ordered it. At the end of our meal, the restaurant gave my wife a red rose to wish her Happy Mother's Day. It was a perfect ending to our Mother's Day brunch.

Locanda Positano is a gem in Marina del Rey. We ordered a spread of antipasti, pastas, and entrées, and every dish was spot-on — fresh, perfectly prepared, and true to classic Italian cooking. The setting is cozy and feels a little tucked away, which makes it a great choice when you want something more intimate. If you’re looking for outstanding Italian food in the Marina area, this place should be at the top of your list.

The restaurant is intimate in its physical space so reservations obviously are a necessity. Even then you may have to wait a short bit because customers don't operate by reservation times. The service was pleasant and attentive, the menu is quite varied and the dishes for the most part are plentiful and quite good. The pasta seafood is beyond compare, and well worth its price point. Overall restaurant is a bit pricey for it's offerings, but they do have an extensive wine selection for those that enjoy. New York steak was grilled medium and full of flavor with excellent tenderness. The mini bombolone was excellent and surprisingly airy and delicious. The calamari was so light and perfectly fried with just the right seasoning with a side marinara that's drinkable. I think we would definitely visit again for a special occasion.

This review is long overdue, but I want to take a moment to sincerely thank the owners, Patrizia and Michaelangelo, for being such gracious and welcoming hosts. We held a baby shower at Locanda Positano, and the entire experience was truly exceptional from start to finish. The food was absolutely delicious, authentic, and beautifully presented! The team is clearly very experienced in handling large parties, which made everything run so smoothly. They were also incredibly flexible with the space, allowing us to bring our own decorations and make the room feel personal and festive. Service throughout the event was attentive, warm, and professional without ever feeling rushed. Pricing was straightforward, transparent, and very reasonable for the quality of food, service, and venue provided. If you are looking for a medium-to-large event space with amazing food, a welcoming atmosphere, and hosts who go above and beyond to make your celebration special, I wholeheartedly recommend Locanda Positano. We could not have asked for a better place to celebrate such a meaningful occasion.

My only issue was having to send back my dish because it was overcooked. I ordered medium rare and in my opinion, it was close to medium. They quickly changed it and I was satisfied with the lamb. The octopus was out of this world. Would come back just for that octopus!

Restaurant is in the Ritz Carlton. We ordered the octopus and squash soup as starters. They were tasty. Then we ordered the curry falafel along with shrimp and calamari bucatini. The falafel dish was quite good. The pasta and seafood dish was excellent. The serving size was just right. Nice views of the marina. The outside tables have a fire feature in the middle of table. Service was friendly and efficient.

Beautiful restaurant located at the Ritz Carlton Hotel. They have a beautiful view of the marina with seating also available indoors. We had a wonderful server who checked on us often and made sure we were taken care of the whole time. I ordered the hummus with pita. By far the best hummus and pita I ever had. The hummus was extremely flavorful and the pita was very soft with a light crisp and thick. It was large so if you order it’s enough for 2-3 people. I also ordered fries that had a delicious spice to them. It comes with a jalapeño aioli. My husband ordered the blt with fries which is not pictured but he enjoyed it very much. For dessert, we had a vegan strawberry shortcake that was suggested but our waitress. She said even if you are not vegan you will love it and she was right. It was magnificent. They have many options to pick from and are accommodating.

We were staying at the hotel with our children so we had 2 rooms for a week. One day we had lunch service, food and atmosphere was lovely. The other night we ( my husband and myself, my daughter, her husband and their 2 children 2 1/2 and 7 year old )were tired after a full day out so we decided to eat in the hotel. When we went to the reception desk at the restaurant she ( this is on 10/17/ 25) she said there were no tables at that time and we need to wait 10 minutes. The restaurant was relatively empty so I assumed that they had sections closed. So we asked if we can order something at their beautiful fireplace area while we wait. She said no because of the servers wouldn’t be the same. We immediately asked to speak to someone else because it made no sense to be treated like that at the Ritz. The other person took care of us very nicely. We waited over 10 minutes and still was not called for a table. I inquired to the lovely man that was helping us if this section is closed because there was a table of 6 that was not occupied the whole time. He informed us that the table was available. We finally sat down. Our waitor was great. When we ordered our food we requested Brussels sprouts with no bacon. My daughter doesn’t eat any find of meat except fish and vegetables for 32 years and my husband and myself only eat poultry and fish. When the equator brought the Brussels sprouts over he assured us that there was no bacon. After we ate it my son in law who does eat bacon decided to eat from the Brussels sprout dish and informed us and the waiter that there is bacon. Our waiter was very upset. The gentlemen who helped us at the beginning took the Brussels sprouts off the bill. Our bill was over $500 ( which was extremely expensive for what we ate and how we were treated) and the service charge was $82.. I would rather starve then to eat in that restaurant again

We’ve stayed at The Ritz a bunch the last few years thanks to work trips and this restaurant is such a surprising standout for all breakfast to dinner. Their avocado toast is off-the-charts good with everything seasoning and delicious bread, and their carrot ginger soup and strawberry salad make eating healthy easy to do. Sit by the fire in the lobby and feel contentment for a little while. 5 stars!!!

Very nice waterfront restaurant inside the Ritz Carlton. Very casual. We went here without reservations on a weekend and were seated immediately. Salmon was very good. Ginger carrot soup and crème brûlée were awesome. The view is of boats in the marina

Located inside the Ritz Carlton with a great view if you can get an outside table. Normally I stay away from hotel restaurants but this place is a step up. The scampi pasta was excellent, and did I mention that the noodles were hand made? The server was super friendly, explaining the area and things to do at the marina. This place has made me rethink and be more open to trying hotel restaurants again.

While staying at the Ritz in Marina Del Rey we stopped in to this restaurant for breakfast each day and also enjoyed dinner once evening. Additionally, we came in every night for drinks before and after dinner at the bar. Brian, the bartender who took care of us each time was great. The various servers that took care of our breakfast visits were helpful and attentive as well. Their menu is loaded with several delicious items, it was tough to decide what to get! Their huevos rancheros was incredible! But the best thing I enjoyed was their chicken at dinner… I never order chicken from a nicer restaurant, but the description looked so amazing that I had to try this and I most definitely enjoyed every bit of it! In fact, others sitting at the bar also tried it and commented about how amazing this entrée was! Save room for dessert, they have an excellent dessert menu too! Their Ritz chocolate cake was incredible! Their bar offerings are all outstanding… from their excellent wine list, to the top shelf spirits and the cocktails they make with them. They offer outdoor seating, overlooking the marina, which is a great place to enjoy breakfast! Highly recommend stopping in while staying here and even if in the area, it’s worth visiting the Ritz one evening for dinner here!

Ontario International Airport

Airport
Airport serving the San Bernardino & Riverside areas, with flights to cities in the U.S. & Mexico.
We flew out of and flew back into the Ontario Airport. This airport seemed well organized and the staff were nice. Lots of food places to grab a bite or drink. We checked our bags in with no issues. Air Conditioning was running and the bathrooms were clean. TSA PreCheck went smoothly.

Ontario International Airport is a pretty well-managed small airport. I’ve never been through security this fast—less than 5 minutes, which is the quickest in my entire travel experience. The airport has limited gates but everything is organized and well managed, making it an easy and stress-free option compared to larger airports.
Ankur R — Google review
ONT really surprised me in the best way possible. It’s one of the most efficient and relaxed airports I’ve ever flown from in Southern California. The layout is simple and intuitive, and security was fast with barely any wait. Everything felt calm and clean — such a contrast to the chaos of larger airports like LAX. I was flying business class, and the overall process from check-in to boarding was smooth and comfortable. ONT has earned a spot on my list for future travel in and out of LA especially when I want a quick and stress-free airport experience.

I've flown in and out of this airport a few times. It's a "good size" airport. It's big enough plenty of flights come in and out. But small enough to not have to walk for an hour to get to your gate. Busy but never feels super crowded. Clean facility, and friendly staff. Not to mention you're always close by something to eat, or a 5 minute walk from a shop of some sort. Or creative vending machines.

Ontario International Airport has been steadily growing and improving for years. My family and I have used this airport for over 40 years. We appreciate the freeway access, the parking, the security, the airlines and the cleanliness. It is a friendly part of Southern California!

Ontario International Airport is truly a hidden gem. For a long time, we used to travel through San Diego and cross into Tijuana using the CBX bridge. At first, it seemed convenient, but in reality, it’s not really worth it. Parking there is expensive, prices can go up to around $35 per day depending on the month, and you have to walk quite a bit since there’s no shuttle service and the area isn’t very comfortable to move around, often with dirt paths. On top of that, you have to pay to use the bridge, and once you cross, there’s still a long walk to get to the Tijuana airport. It’s far from the Inland Empire, and when you add the cost of gas, time, parking, and the bridge fee, it really doesn’t make sense anymore. That’s why Ontario International Airport has become a real game changer for us. It’s close, convenient, and easy. Parking is just steps away or you can take the quick shuttle. When you land, you’re practically home already. When you compare everything, the time, effort, gas, bridge fee, and parking, the “savings” you think you’re getting with Tijuana flights really disappear. Most flights from Tijuana also leave very early in the morning, which makes it even more inconvenient. So for us, using Ontario International Airport just makes more sense. It’s faster, simpler, and far more comfortable when traveling to Mexico or anywhere else.

Excellent airport. Staff is really good for shuttle drivers, Rental car agencies, TSA, Clear, and the others working the airport and cleaning staff are professional.
Sean C — Google review
I was physically violated by the TSA here. Their professionalism is missing and they completely disregard anxious passengers. They spoke to me in a demeaning way and embarrassed me in front of other passengers. I never want to fly to this airport again. They really need to take a look at their TSA staff, particularly their supervisors! They are not qualified to be leading anything. They need training on how to properly handle interacting with passengers without disrespecting, harassing, or insulting them.

John Wayne Airport

Airport
Domestic airport
John Wayne Airport is an international airport located in Orange County, offering convenience and ease of travel. The airport features a unique aviation museum within an on-site hangar. Travelers appreciate the cleanliness and manageable size of the airport, making it easy to navigate. However, it's important to note that the TSA lines can get crowded due to its smaller size. While there are limited stores and restaurants, they may close early, so travelers should plan accordingly.
I would do whatever in my power to avoid LAX. SNA, on the other hand is probably the best airport in CA. In fact, In September 2024, the J.D. Power 2024 North America Airport Satisfaction Study ranked John Wayne as the #1 large airport in North America (for airports handling 10–32.9 million passengers annually). The TSA staff is overall friendly and laid back - polar opposite of those at LAX. Bathrooms are clean and there are plenty of it. I rarely face flight delays here. Large selection of restaurants to get your vacation buzz started and kill time.

This was a great alternative to flying into LAX. Much less busy than LAX. Still significant traffic, so leave early. They have some direct flights and have lots of connections from major hubs. The airport is easily walkable from one end to the other, but had multiple food options and other shops. We definitely liked navigating this airport better than LAX. We definitely plan to use John Wayne airport in the future.
Jim C — Google review
Flying out of John Wayne Airport was such a smooth experience! Compared to the chaos of LAX, this airport was a breath of fresh air. Returning my rental was simple and getting to the gate was no hassle at all. I was on my way to Texas and found the whole process easy and stress-free. What I like most is that the airport is small enough to navigate without feeling rushed or overwhelmed, but still big enough to handle things efficiently. It really makes travel feel less like a chore and more like a pleasant part of the journey. I’m glad this airport exists because it makes flying out of Southern California so much easier. If you want a smoother, calmer, and quicker travel option, this airport is a solid choice. Follow @joeypauga on TT, FB, YT, IG, LinkedIN and X

I love this airport. Super casual, super easy. Casual enough that a TSA agent chatted with me about our favorite films. That’s a huge difference from the high traffic at LAX. Planes land, and they immediately pull up to the gate to deplane, like they should. If you land at ORD you might spend an hour on the tarmac, which is awful, but not at SNA! Find the John Wayne statue in terminal A by checked baggage. This airport is like one long tunnel. Super easy to navigate, without any confusion. They also had a nice guy playing piano near some restaurants! You can park right outside which is nice but they raised the prices to $30/day which is my only complaint. Highly recommend you park at Renaissance Newport Beach hotel across the street for $9.99. They have a shaker service and driver you to the airport in a nice new Tahoe. They give you a claim check to pick up your car and they pick you up at the airport when you call them. I used the Cheap airport parking site for that. Beats LAX where it feels like you’re getting arrested if your friend picks you up at the airport.

A calm and efficient airport that offers a refreshing change from the busy LAX experience. It’s compact, quiet, and rarely feels crowded, making it an excellent choice if you’re traveling to or from the Santa Ana, Irvine or greater LA area. Security and check-in are usually quick, and the gates are conveniently located just a short walk after TSA, which makes the whole process smooth and stress-free. While the airport doesn’t have a huge range of dining options, the available cafés and snack spots are decent for a quick bite before your flight. Overall, a pleasant and hassle-free airport experience , ideal for travelers who value convenience and efficiency over size and variety.

First time flying out of John Wayne Airport (SNA) and it was incredibly easy. I parked in Parking A1 and easily found a spot, headed to Terminal 1 and made my way to Delta. Once checked in, it was an easy walk over to Pre-TSA check, where the line was super quick. Once I was past security, it was easy to locate my gate. I did overnight parking for the duration of my travels, which came out to $30/day (July 2025). It’s not a big airport, which is a good thing. It was calm and easy. I just wish they had restrooms at every other gate at least.

10.6.25: Fast forward 4 days and vacation is over and I'm back here to catch my flight home. In 4 days, the government shut down has begun to affect operations of airports and flights. Of course I kept checking and it kept getting delayed further. I had my fingers crossed my flight doesn't get cancelled and if it doesn't--that, I don't miss my connecting flight in Sacramento. In the end, I finally boarded my flight with just over an hour delay. I was thankful it wasn't cancelled and my connecting flight had a slight delay as well, which was in my favor. In the end, I finally made it back to Spokane before midnight. Grateful for all the airport workers, crew, TSA, flight attendants, and pilots that despite the government shut down, they continued to do their jobs and keep us safe. 10.2.25: Came here to visit friends. Deplaning and navigating to the luggage carousels was fairly easy as I followed the signs. By the time I went to the bathroom, my luggage was already on the carousel and I was out the door.

Los Angeles International Airport

International airport
Airport
Los Angeles International Airport, commonly known as LAX, is a bustling airport hub with numerous terminals and a wide variety of airlines. The airport features iconic glass pylons and a prominent 'LAX' sign at its entrance. While some terminals may appear outdated, the overall experience includes convenient car rental services upon arrival and relatively simple gate access. However, there are limited food options in certain areas of the airport. Some travelers express a desire for direct metro access to reduce pollution from buses and vehicles.
Very busy airport when you can get dropped off upstairs or downstairs. Check google maps to see which is better than take elevators 🛗 or escalator’s to get to where you need to get to . Train station with people mover will make the airport more accessible to all. Mist terminal are now connected via tunnels and pedestrian bridges. Shuttles and buses schedules available online.

LAX is clean and well-maintained, with nice rental car options located just outside the terminal. The shuttle services are fast and friendly, making transportation smooth and efficient. Restrooms are also very clean, which adds to the overall comfort of the airport. One downside is that the only multi-faith quiet room is located at Gate 130, which is difficult to access for most travelers. It would be great to see more of these spaces throughout the airport.
S J — Google review
Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) provides an efficient and well-managed travel experience despite its size and traffic volume. The check-in and security processes were streamlined, with staff maintaining a professional and courteous approach throughout. Terminals are modern, clean, and well-equipped, offering a wide range of dining and retail options to accommodate travelers. Clear signage and reliable inter-terminal transportation made navigating the airport straightforward. Overall, LAX demonstrates a high standard of organization and service, making it a strong hub for both domestic and international travel

The airport is very big and hard to navigate. It took me a long time to find the Amex lounge and walk back to my gate. It was like a maze inside, and the signs were small and confusing for passengers to find places like baggage claims. I suggest you have a gate number handy. Just search on Google Maps and adjust the level to 3 floors. You should be able to see all the gates there, so you'll have a rough idea of how long it takes to walk among them..There are no terminal signs on my flight boarding pass. There are over 120 gates, and it uses the gate number to locate the boarding location. If you are in a hurry, don't hesitate to take the free shuttle circling clockwise outside the structure.
Nan L — Google review
Not a bad airport, but since it’s in LA it does feel a bit musty at times, almost like an old humid building. That said, there are some nice areas that stand out. For example, Terminal 7 has a pretty cool history wall decor that makes the space more interesting.
Isaac R — Google review
The main issue at LAX is always the traffic. No matter when you come, you'll likely hit it but in the early morning you might be lucky. My flight leaving to Rio I flew out of Terminal 3 with Delta. When I came back, I landed at Tom Bradley International airport. Going through customs was quick when I arrived, there wasn't a line and they just took a picture if you're already a US citizen. Getting my luggage was simple but waiting for the LAX IT to take you to the Uber pickup can be a hassle.

LA, USA. Cleans airport with super friendly immigration office that allow us to clear together. As compared to UK, the staffs’ attitude is very friendly and willingness to help. For us as Asian and first time landed in foreign land like US, we totally do not feel any uneasiness with the local. We spend 10 hours waiting to connect to Dallas and there are plenty of sitting area for you to rest without any fear of security issues.

Everything went great. There are so many moving parts and things that have to happen for a great flight experience. So grateful for everyone's' sincere effort to ensure my journey was without incident. Patient, personable, and professional. Excellent signage and security, plenty of seating, great options for drinks/food/souvenirs.
