Beautiful small beach in the marina with lots of cover! Planning to do a bbq next time with all the roof covers, benches, and grills. They have one beach volleyball court, playground, and water activity rentals. Nice spot for a small/big family get together. Life guards were really nice. Good spot for fishing on your kayak or paddleboard, too!
Beautiful quiet beach with a view of the marina. I felt safe while being there and even got to enjoy some live music while watching the waves.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Hidden Gem in Marina Del Rey! Mother’s Beach in Marina Del Rey is truly an amazing experience! It’s one of my favorite picnic spots for so many reasons. The beach offers covered picnic areas, each with its own barbecue grill that’s cleaned daily—perfect for cookouts with friends and family. They provide public restrooms and even an outdoor shower for rinsing off after a dip in the water. There’s a designated swimming area with a lifeguard, which makes it feel safe and welcoming for all ages. Looking for more fun? You’ll find kayaks and paddleboards available for rent, and several volleyball courts spread across the beach for active play. Parking is easy and affordable—just $10 for the whole day, which is a great deal for everything you get. The grounds are well-kept, clean, and thoughtfully maintained. If you’re looking for a relaxing and enjoyable beach day with great amenities, Mother’s Beach is a must-visit! 🌴☀️🌊
Mothers Beach is a great spot for families and relaxing by the water. Calm waves make it perfect for kids to play safely, and the views of the marina are beautiful. Plenty of space to sit back, enjoy the scenery, and unwind. Definitely one of the best hidden gems in LA for a laid-back beach day.
If you're looking to take a place for small children mother's beaches the perfect place to go. This beach has no waves and it is in a protected Harbor no boat traffic coming near. The weather is generally on the cooler side so make sure to bring some layers. There is a lifeguard on duty during the daytime hours and a couple of restaurants that are pretty close by. Also plenty of on-site parking where you can park and pay by the hour or pay for a full day for $10. There's also a small playground designed for younger children that kids can go to once they get too cold or tired of the water.
The beach was nice with a lot of activities. The water taxis is there to visit other area's of the Marina. Also cheesecake factory is on the beach too😁
Nice small beach area close to the airport. Great California weather makes it a great place for a beach break
This is a wonderful place for family's chilling, especially with small kids. This beach is clean and watercosts is flat. Adults over 5' in height can go far enough into the ocean and water will cover them in half. Great opportunity for kids to swip or to try to swim. The ocean is always warm, quite and mostly no waves. There is one LAFD lifeguard station but these doing excellent their job. There are some covered spaces for BBQs or you can celebrate your family event there. This beach is equipped with a public restroom and outdoors fresh water showers (but water is cold there, so be careful to get cold after that). Free street and commercial parking, as well as public transportation are available in the nearest proximity to the beach. You can also take a trip for additional fee by the water bus into harbor. You can also rent a kayak or a paddleboard. So, highly recommended to visit!

We went on the 4th of July weekend. We strolled the area after we had lunch at a nearby restaurant. There are good restaurants with beautiful views in the village. The place wasn't very crowded, there was music with a DJ, people were dancing. It's just a beautiful vibe to enjoy the weekend! And, you can take the city cruise. The best $2 40-minute boat ride.⛵️😁
We visited on a Sunday evening. It’s a calm and quiet spot — not too happening, but nice if you’re looking for a peaceful outing. ✨ What to expect: • Beautiful sunset and skyline views with boats in the backdrop. • Affordable boat rides (around $1) in the backwaters. • Several waterfront restaurants and cafes, great for a meal or drink. • Plenty of parking space. • Small carousel 🎠 and bike ride for kids. Good place to visit if you live nearby and want to relax by the water. 🌊
A wonderful place where the ocean seems to smile down on you! The view of the bay and sailboats is simply a postcard, especially with a cocktail in hand and a whole weekend ahead. The restaurants are excellent—you can come for lunch and just stay until dinner. The only downside is that there's no live music on weekends anymore. It used to be magical: sun, food, and someone singing about their love for the sea and beautiful girls! Now all you can do is sing to yourself, but the crowd is definitely welcoming! 🎶⛵🍹
Good place to maybe eat and take a couple of boat rides, but that's it. It's more for people that live there. The waterbus was ok. Most of the stops were all apartment buildings. Meaning, nothing to see or do. Everything is at fisherman's village. Once that's done, it's a wrap.... time to go home.
Quick afternoon walk near Lax. We came for the sea lions and we saw them!! Walking along the marina with small shops and saw dancing ladies that afternoon! Such a great vibe! Perfect for those having a quick stopover in LA.
Nice little fisherman's wharf area with restaurants, boutique shops, bike rentals, escape rooms, and boat rides. Got to enjoy the seals and wildlife at the harbor. Great for biking and for taking walks along the harbor. Plenty of paid parking but no public restrooms.
There aren’t that many stores and the parking machines aren’t kept up. Watching the birds, the boats, the sea lions, and the people is kind of fun. There were people dancing to music. That wad kind of cool.
Cute place by the water. Nice to walk with a nice view. We saw seals out stealing the poor fisherman's catches. Restaurants and refreshment places around. The crepe place was great.

Very peaceful area with great views of the marina and the local wildlife. They have plenty of public grills, just found it odd that they were all under a roof (?). The sea lions are sure to be a hit with the kids. There are some homeless but very minimal compared to other areas.
I went to an outdoor concert here. Beautiful area, acceptable bathrooms, and enough space to not feel crowded. That said, we ended up sitting among some of the worst people who talked loudly, and nonstop the entire time. I'll probably come back to the park for a picnic if I'm in the area, but the concert was a nightmare. Again, wonderful artist, great venue, just an all out terrible audience.
What a beautiful park! Great for picnics! The ocean breeze and such a beautiful Marina and boat rides, concerts in the park and reasonable rates to rent the community building or the Pagodas for parties. Clean restrooms, Really enjoyed spending time here.
A nice waterfront park to relax and enjoy! 🌅 ✨ Highlights: • Great spot to catch the sunset and take a peaceful stroll. • Plenty of open space and seating areas, including shaded spots. • You might even spot seals near the water! 🦭 • Perfect for birthday parties, barbecues 🍗, or picnics. • Boat rides are available for just $1 — fun and affordable. Big trees 🌳 to enjoy ⚠️ One note: the parking lot can be a bit stinky at first, but once you’re in the park, it’s fresh and enjoyable. Overall, a relaxing place for families, kids, and gatherings by the water. 🌊
The water bus service here is wonderful. Runs from June through August. Fisherman’s Village and Mother’s beach are the other two popular stops with lots of restaurants and things to do. Very friendly and family friendly atmosphere with occasional concerts and festival decorations throughout the year.
This is a beautiful park, even on gloomy, cloudy days like the day I visited. Lots of nice views and places to see and admire them. If you’re a fan of squirrels, I think you’ll especially love this park. It’s full of fox squirrels, the kind that are used to people and expect to be served by them. They’re very cute, and they’re everywhere.
Another visit to Burton Chase Park however I brought a friend who live in Baltimore, she was very impressed. We were able to walk around the grounds and see the stage that was being prepared for "disco night". We weren't able to stay for the fun, she had a 9p flight. I was at the park last year for a concert. My family was celebrating a birthday, it was a lot of fun.
Beautiful park with amazing view. Very clean, but parking can be a challenge

Open 7 days a week! Limited hours, but how wonderful is that??? Free parking on the premises. Enter parking from Admiralty Way, or from Mindinao Way. The staff was very friendly and efficient. I got my yearly Beach Parking Pass here today.
Perfect for information! The attendant was knowledgeable and very kind! Got all the info we needed for the area 🙏
I gave Marina Del Rey a four because I have never talked to a human here in several visits placed over four years. No public rest rooms. Basic information was supplied about Marina Del Rey outside posted to bulletin boards and doors. Still, the information was enough for basic exploring.
We loooove Marina del Rey! I had never been there but we had a layover at LAX last year and we skipped over to the marina for a few hours. We ended up staying there two days and rebooked our flight! The Visitor Center is a credit to the town. The people were fantastic, really nice to us. The found us a great hotel and some nice restaurants, and they spent a lot of time teaching us how to enjoy the water - and there must be literally dozens of different ways to play in the water at Marina del Rey. We were landlubbers when we arrived, now we feel like old salts. Thank you visitor's center!
Not a visitor center. The staff are busy doing their work and have little intention to provide any useful tourist information. They barely answer your questions. The building is sizable implying there is a lot of tax money going in there. Unfortunately, the visitors’ area is limited to just 1/50 of the entire building in our assessment, a mere entry foyer opened to the public. A shame. It should be closed down. My husband and I are visitors from DC who have traveled US in the last 10 months. The worst place among the places labeled as a visitor center.
You don't need to own a yacht or be a pirate, to benefit from the beauty of this harbor. Great for leisurely strolls with a canine unit or by yourself. Wildlife and people life galore, all by the sea. If you weren't thinking about life on the sea before, you will be by the time you leave.
The visitor's center was closed when we were there. However, there was an awesome winter festival going on complete with snow cannons, a sledding hill, a gingerbread bouncy house, food trucks, and more!
This is a great resource if you are visiting Marina del Rey. You can get directions, find out about events, or get a good tip on a restaurant

My dad and I took the ASA 101 course, and we couldn’t be happier. The instructors are incredibly skilled and passionate, and the small class sizes made learning easy and personal. The course was thorough and professional. If you want to learn sailing the right way, Bluewater is best place to start—I highly recommend it!
I had a fantastic experience with Intro to Keel with Yiheng Xie as our instructor. I appreciated the ratio of students to instructors (4:1). Yiheng Xie was passionate, polite, and knowledgeable. He made sure everyone got an even time at the tiller—tons of info and most importantly lots of hands-on practice. Gives an excellent idea if sailing is for you. Bluewater Sailing delivered!
We had a group of 18 individuals of all ages out for a three-hour skippered charter with Bluewater. From start to finish, we felt so cared for and considered. I appreciated the thoroughness, thoughtfulness, professionalism and timelines we were shown throughout the entire process -- from first inquiry to stepping back onto dry land. Elliot and his team worked with us to create an experience that would be enjoyable, educational, and meaningful for all of our participants - and it was! Even in spite of some rougher waters than we were expecting, everyone had a great time and learned a lot. Elliot, Manny, and Jay - thank you so much! Your passion for sailing and commitment to experiential education created a truly special day for our guests - one we won't forget!
I have been going to Bluewater for 2 years on and off taking the ASA courses and EZ Crews and after every session I feel more confident and competent about sailing. I really appreciate that everyone is really knowledgeable and passionate about sailing. I’ve meet amazing people on the EZ-crew sessions and the skippers were extremely patient and accommodating to specific areas we wanted to work on. I’m really fortunate to have found Bluewater and looking forward to continuing my sailing lessons. Highly recommended!
I recently completed the Basic Keelboat certification with Bluewater Sailing, and I cannot recommend them highly enough. From start to finish, the experience was professional, supportive, and incredibly rewarding. The instructors are not only deeply knowledgeable but also passionate about sailing. They strike the perfect balance between building technical skill and ensuring everyone feels confident and safe on the water. What impressed me most was their ability to break down complex concepts into clear, practical lessons that stuck with me right away. The boats were in excellent condition, the curriculum was well-structured, and every session felt like it was tailored to help me progress faster than I expected. Beyond just teaching the skills, they instilled a real love for sailing and gave me the confidence to handle a keelboat independently. Earning my certification here was more than just checking a box it felt like joining a community of people who truly care about the craft and about their students’ success. I look forward to continuing my sailing journey with Bluewater Sailing and highly encourage anyone interested in learning the right way to start here.
We’ve been learning with Bluewater for a while now, and our experience has been fantastic from start to finish. We've taken both ASA classes and EZ Crew sessions—as crew and skipper—and both have been invaluable for our sailing journey. The classes helped us build essential skills and confidence, while EZ Crew sails gave us more practical experience. All the instructors are knowledgeable, thorough, and passionate about sailing. Each class gives you a solid theoretical foundation, along with plenty of hands-on practice on the water. We’ve learned something unique from every instructor, which makes each session interesting and gives new sailors a broader perspective. Elliot and the rest of the team have created a welcoming, supportive community of sailors around the school. We’ve also chartered boats with friends and participated in racing series with the school, and thanks to what we've learned, we now feel ready to charter boats overseas. Highly recommend Bluewater for anyone interested in learning to sail or improving their skills!
We had an amazing corporate team-building sailing activity on Wednesday, and it couldn’t have gone better! The entire experience was perfectly organized from start to finish. The instructors were incredibly friendly, helpful, and attentive — they made sure everyone felt comfortable and included, regardless of experience level. It was the perfect balance of fun, learning, and teamwork on the water. Highly recommend this activity for any group looking for a unique and memorable experience!
I have completed the beginner's course and had a wonderful experience. I had patient and skilled instructors who genuinely cared that I both learned the skills to sail safely on my own and that I enjoyed myself. I highly recommend Bluewater Sailing.

Beauuuuutiful spot for proposals! You can see a ton of sea lions and take a boat/yacht ride along the beach
Community was wonderful. Respectful and courteous people. The harbor area was clean and very enjoyable. Certainly a place I'll be frequenting whenever I'm in the area.
My Son's Boat at the Marina⛵👌therefore,I like and I love very much this Marina👌clean and well-kept place!
Great area to live with plenty of activities

pretty cool water birds. I have seen a Blue Footed Boobies here before. There are also a lot of cool boats to look at along with the birds. I will attach some photos of a couple birds I usually see. None are really that rare but they are very beautiful and a great spot to watch or photograph sea birds. Parking is pretty easy. You can just walks around. The canal Is typically a hot spot. The lighting is very good so any type of photography will be great (birds, proposals, portraits) all good stuff.

One of my top fave shopping/food spots overall.. for a lot of the stores in here I may have closer options to me in 3rd street promenade or north Santa Monica but I still mostly opt to go here.. very lovely and safe atmosphere
It is normal for it to be very full, especially on the weekends, people like to come to such places, but the closed areas look very ugly, especially the kiosk in front of Starbucks is closed 4 days a week and open 3 days a week. I bought a product and I don't have to come here every day! The employee there cannot give exact information about when the store is open!
Waterside at Marina del Rey is one of those rare outdoor shopping centers that checks all the boxes without trying too hard. Plenty of easy, free parking (a true coastal luxury), a clean and breezy layout, and a lineup of shops and restaurants that hit that sweet spot between everyday convenience and solid quality. I originally pulled in thinking I’d hit up Kreation for a juice, but pivoted last-minute to Sugarfish—one of the perks of having multiple crave-worthy options within a short stroll. Whether you’re meeting someone for business, running errands, or grabbing a bite with family or friends, it delivers. The vibe is relaxed, polished, and never overcrowded. Five stars for making a retail experience feel effortless in LA.
It’s really nice over there. I go for walks with my mentor all the time but I’m a little bit frustrated that they’re closing California pizza kitchen that was the best pizza in my opinion and they took that away so…….
I absolutely love this little shopping center! It one of the nicer places to come shop in the area. There is a little bit of everything here to please a variety of people's likes. It's definitely a weekend plan type place, but you can also run here quick if you don't have the time to really enjoy what they have to offer. Ralph's is in this center if you need to pick up groceries, or to use as an excuse to come here. They have a variety of lovely places to grab a bite to eat suitable for everyone's wallet. This is a great place to come window shopping on the weekend with the girls. You can get your hair done, send off a FedEx package, buy your money a birthday gift, grab a Starbucks or some fancy chocolate, do your banking, have a nice lunch, and get your grocery shopping done for the week all in one nice little place. Plus they have plenty of parking!
I loved Sephora and Pink Berry... otherwise, there's nothing much that caught our attention. As tourists, I was hoping for something a bit more intriguing, but I'm sure it has what the community needs? Maybe?
Crowded, variety of stores, a market, in the marina, car spaces made to small. Parking lot on the small size and all kinds of people, most of them are friendly. Nice variety of stores, restaurants and markets. Lots of nice shops, eateries, market and more.
Wasn't too crowded so it was easy to find parking, for a change. Went to Mendocino Farms for a pick up order

Reasonably priced sailing lessons and rentals for sailing and kayaking. Phenomenal staff! A gem of Los Angeles.
We went here to go kayaking in the Marina and they gave us great instructions on what to do how etc before we got our kayak. The Marina was a great place for an hour of Kayaking and checking stuff out, too. I will definitely be back!
I learned how to sail here in 2005, and am constantly trying to get others to come learn as well. I'm excited that my wife is taking Sailing I soon so she can get promoted from just being my crew ;)
Wonderful place to get kayaking or sailing classes. I did not this place existed, and I've been to Marina del rey quite a few times. It's also beautiful for a jog, bike ride, or just the scenery when you get to the end of the walk.
Wow. All watesports. Learn, and play. Thanks to UCLA. Open to the public. No experience needed to rent kayaks and paddleboard. Lessons for sailing, windsurfing etc are slightly cheaper if you join UCLA Recreation.
Perfect kayaking experience and great staff.
This is without question the best water sports and activities facility in the entire Marina Del Rey area. Stand up paddle boarding, windsurfing, kayaking, sailing, rowing, and surfing are all available to the public via this facility; however, most activities do require a site issued certification, unlike other rental places. UCLA students and alumni are privy to some perks like discounts on classes and equipment rental, and hours are limited to mornings and evenings on weekdays. Despite all the details, the facility is a gorgeous nook of semi-privatr space at the open end of the Marina, and easily boasts one of the best properties in the entire area.
Good sailing and surfing classes! Instructors are pretty all over the place but all love sailing and know their stuff. Sailing dingy rental rates are pretty good but really worth the monthly rate sailing pass.

Found some cool things at Pavilions! Great store for all fine foods and wines and cheeses among the regular grocery items.
First time putting Flex Fuel in my Ford transit. I can feel the difference. Way better.
My regular spot to do pretty much everything... I love coming to the marina villa for movie nights, dinner and even some grocery shopping. It's not too far from home, very convenient and safe establishment building. For sure, I really enjoy the whole place
Large outdoor mall. Lots of places to eat and shop. A large movie theater. Plenty of parking, but it's not covered parking.
Lots to do . Good food options and a stop at the Spirt Halloween store
The mall itself is always been really nice. Plenty of parking, lots of great places where you can go and eat, AMC Marina six is very nice and comfortable. Very neat. Very clean and customer service was good. I went to the AMC Marina six to watch the new F1 movie with Brad Pitt, and I made the right decision in purchasing my ticket online, because I was running a little behind. When I walked in, I went straight to the concession stand to grab a bucket of popcorn and a soda and for that bucket of popcorn, a soda and a bag of candy, was $25. Which I think is absolutely ridiculous. The movie was extremely good though. The seats were extremely comfortable, plenty of legroom, and it had a more intimate feeling than other theaters that I have been to. Overall, I have, and would go back again to the mall, because it’s a good place to relax on a Saturday afternoon.
Ample parking and lots of options for retail stores Grocery store Pavilions to Movie Theatre to Restaurants and Cafes available in this small strip mall near the Marina
Yard House was good eating but Hard rock music constant was a little much for my taste
