Canadian Automotive Museum

Museum
Historical landmark
The Canadian Automotive Museum, situated in Oshawa, Ontario, has been open to the public since 1963. It boasts a diverse collection of historic Canadian cars and other automobiles from around the world. Visitors can explore an array of unique and classic vehicles, such as the 1926 Bentley and the 1957 Dodge Regent. The museum offers an educational experience for both children and car enthusiasts, providing insight into automotive history and design.
My visit to this museum in Oshawa was a wonderful experience. As someone interested in cars but not deeply versed in the technical details, I enjoyed exploring the impressive variety of cars on display. The museum was well-maintained, and the exhibits were organized nicely. The staff were super kind and helpful. There were also a few free visitor parking spots, which was a nice addition. This museum is catered to everyone—children, adults, and seniors alike. Whether you are a car enthusiast or just curious, in my opinion, it would definitely be a fascinating and enjoyable place to visit.

Great collection of vintage and classic cars! The Canadian Automotive Museum may not be huge, but they’ve done a fantastic job managing the space they have. It’s clear that a lot of care goes into preserving and presenting these vehicles for future generations—and we should be thankful for that. We visited on a Saturday afternoon and it was pleasantly quiet, which gave us time to really enjoy each display. Free parking was a nice bonus too. Admission was very reasonable—just $16 for an adult—and you can easily buy tickets right at the door. There’s also a washroom inside, which is always good to know when visiting with family. If you’re even a little interested in automotive history or just looking for a unique local outing, this place is definitely worth a visit!

A Retro Style Nostalgic Experience , in the heart of Oshawa City, I loved the Collection , The cars in the display were definitely taking us to time travel and check the Old Gems more than 100 years old. The Place is a great feast for car Enthusiasts including Kids and Oldies , We know that Canada has a wonderful history Automotive Industry , This place definitely do justice to it , I want all visitors to spread the words about this place so that It can be well maintained and attract more attention ....I will visit This time to time , I have to see my love Lighting McQueen !!
Anuj G — Google review
This is a very distinctive car museum, especially suitable for children who like cars. We saw a one-to-one McQueen here. The parking lot next to the museum is also very convenient, and it is worth recommending everyone to come and play!
KE D — Google review
As a car enthusiast and from the land down under (Australia) I travelled far and wide to visit this place. There are some beautifully preserved and presented vehicles to admire and read about. While the cars are tightly packed in some places , this museum could do with some extra space. However I enjoyed looking and admiring at the Canadian Automotive Museum’s history and knowledge. Allow an hour or two to take in all that it has to offer.

2025 May 4.5★ A great museum with many historic and iconic cars. With 2 stories and about 50+ cars, this place is worth checking out. Certainly wasn't expecting there to be that many cars upstairs. See the first hybrid gas electric vehicle, back to the future car and others. Adults $16 Street parking. Expect to spend about 2 hours inside. Non profit and great for the community.
K W — Google review
Nice muséum with a good diversity of Canadian vehicles. From firsts Canadian carts to Bugatti type 35, going by Flash McQueen, y9u will be able to see and learn about a large variety of historic cars. I also really enjoyed the brochures available at the end of the visit. Thanks
Victor S — Google review
I loved this museum. It's worth a visit. The gearhead and those interested in 20th century Canadian history will appreciate it. The museum is located in beautiful downtown Oshawa, in an historic commercial building. There's free parking on site, as well as metered street parking in front. Entrance fees are very reasonable. The first floor has many first rate, rare and expensive collectible cars, including Lester Pearson's custom Buick staff car, and the exquisite 1914 Rolls Royce Silver Ghost, driven by Prince Edward ( not the current one, the King Edward VIII one) during his 1919 debauched jaunts around Montreal. Additionally there's rare treasures like a 1930s Bugatti race car, a Packard Twin-Six, and an aluminum classic blower-Bentley. The upper level has a mix of more ordinary cars plus some rare gems like a early Chevrolet converted to snow use, a friction drive CarterCar, a Brooks Steam car, and Canada's earliest existing electric car. Or, more precisely, the remains of it. One of the features of this museum is many cars are unrestored. They're displayed with the accumulated wear, use, dents and patina accumulated in their actual useful existence, decades or even a century ago This adds authenticity and realism to the displays. Of particular interest is their life-size diorama of a barn -find Buick. This museum is worth a visit, even if you've been there in the past. I last visited in the 1990s, but I found many cars on display weren't present back then. A visit takes about 1 to 2 hours to take everything in. There's some opportunities for better displays. They have both a DeLorean AND a Bricklin, two completely unrelated but very similar cars, in their history, engineering, development and marketing. They're missing a huge opportunity by not displaying them side-by -side with a comparative analysis of their circumstances. Such a display would be a real standout, especially given that the DeLorean is popular, but few people remember Canada's own Bricklin. Otherwise the museum is well done.

Art museum
The Robert McLaughlin Gallery is an art museum located in downtown Oshawa that displays a vast collection of Canadian modern art. The gallery boasts permanent and rotating exhibits, including an extensive selection of Indigenous artwork. Visitors can enjoy browsing the three floors of exhibits free of charge, though donations are accepted at the front desk. In addition to showcasing local artists, the gallery also offers art classes for all ages and hosts a summer camp for children. A gift shop is available onsite as well.
While researching museum/art gallery wedding venues in Durham, my now-husband and I came across the RMG. We booked a tour right away and met with Carole. The tour was great and Carole is so personable. We ended up booking the Isabel Gallery for the ceremony, Arthur's for the reception, and the Lobby for welcomes and dancing. Although we didn't book the backyard, we were still welcome to use it for our wedding photographs. We then visited again just to explore the gallery, and wow! It's so much bigger than it looks. There were so many exhibits filled with amazing art from both classic and contemporary artists. We even saw works from students of nearby schools (such talented young artists)! The wedding day came and everything happened so seamlessly, even with the 4pm set-up time. The team set everything up so quickly and exactly the way we had planned in our set-up maps (provided by Carole). The team, especially Carole and Brigitte, are so kind and upbeat, it was truly such a wonderful day! Our friends and family can't stop talking about what a wonderful venue we chose. We even visited soon after the wedding as we left some of our items, and Carole kindly set them aside for us to pick up. We look forward to visiting again soon!

Upon entering The Robert McLaughlin Gallery, I was immediately greeted by two very attentive individuals. As I ventured further into the space, I had the pleasure of speaking with Heather, who was not only kind and professional but also exceptionally knowledgeable. Despite the gallery not being at full capacity during my visit, the experience was nonetheless quite enjoyable. It was calm, thought-provoking, and stimulating—full of artistic talent for anyone who appreciates fine art as much as I do. I would highly recommend taking the time to explore and savor the experience. It was not rushed, and while the gallery may not have been fully complete in its offerings, it certainly feels like a work in progress. I look forward to returning and continuing to support this wonderful venue.1

Wonderful gallery in downtown Oshawa, featuring a thoughtfully curated selection of great Canadian Art. I specifically loved the Jack Bush exhibit - seeing the arc of his artistic development through key paintings.

I missed the school kids exhibit but the sugar one was really worth the visit. Found a couple artist in the permanent gallery that really sparked an interest. Will visit again soon.

I love it here, very well taken care of. Excellent gallery. Fantastic selection of artwork. Something for everyone. Go check it out. You might just get inspired to go create something yourself. I know I did
Jason H — Google review
Nice gallery has a lot painting, I like it. Entrance by donation, need parking fee.
M N — Google review
Wonderful, cool atmosphere. Take a slow walk and read the artists' notes. Free admission.
Eamonn R — Google review
No tickets are required to visit the gallery. They do suggest a small donation though. Took the GO to Oshawa GO Station. Boarded 902 bus and got off at queen street. A five minute walk on queen gets you there.

Sights & Landmarks
Tribute Communities Centre in Oshawa is a state-of-the-art venue known for live entertainment, including big-name acts and Oshawa Generals OHL hockey games. The center offers suites suitable for various functions, such as office parties, and provides basic but reasonably priced catering options like pizza. While parking can be challenging during game times, the facility's diverse events calendar ensures there's always something exciting happening at Tribute Communities Centre.
I saw Blue Rodeo there recently. As always, they put on a great show. The entire place began singing the opening to their song 'Hasn't Hit Me Yet' when they played it. It has a great atmosphere, and the acoustics are fantastic. Private suite is the way to go. I love watching an Oshawa Generals game from there as well.
Wayne M — Google review
I had a fantastic experience at the Our Lady Peace concert! The venue itself was well-organized, with a smooth and efficient operation of both security and staff, which contributed to a positive overall experience. While the sound quality was decent for a hockey arena, the atmosphere was truly elevated by the energy of the crowd. It was vibrant and full of life. However, I did feel a bit let down at times when Raine Maida seemed to avoid hitting some of the higher notes. Despite this, his unique voice and impressive songwriting continue to be a significant part of the band's success, and it was evident throughout the performance.
Arlo B — Google review
It’s my first time for monster truck, and it’s a wonderful experience. The only problem is this arena is an indoor environment, so the noise would be way louder than I expected. If you come here for monster truck, you’ve better get your earplugs.
蔡季倫 — Google review
Excellent facility! 2 Ice Pads, best mens recreational hockey league in Durham Region. Not a lot of nonsense on the ice with most needing to work the next day. Also home to the Oshawa Generals OHL hockey club. Great concert events. Whether its recreational hockey, competitive hockey, or a great concert venue this place has something for everyone.
Daniel K — Google review
Great place. Brought my kids to an Oshawa Generals game and they loved it! Would definitely recommend. One of the staff members Tyler was very nice and helped us find our seat. Cashiers were friendly with my kids which made them so happy!
Ava S — Google review
The staff from security to ushers and food counters were so friendly and welcoming. The seats were amazing. This is a incredible concert venue would go back any time.
Jon T — Google review
We saw Lynyrd Skynrd here Sept 25. The sound was terrible. 4th time seeing them, always good. Not this time. Quite a low ceiling for a hockey rink. Very little parking available, but no fee after 6pm on the streets.
Sean O — Google review
Amazing place for a night of family fun at the Gens game! Cash and cards are accepted as payment which was great. Not all vendors accepted cards, so it is good to take some cash. There is a bank machine if needed. Clean venue and friendly staff. Someone always willing to help if you needed to find your seats.

Parkwood National Historic Site is a neoclassical mansion built in 1917, featuring formal gardens and a bowling alley. The picturesque garden offers meticulously manicured lawns, vibrant flower beds, and enchanting fountains. It's the only surviving building in the architectural style of the interwar period. Inside, visitors can explore artworks, housewares, books, trophies from the 20th century. The estate was once home to the McLaughlin family, founders of General Motors Canada.
This is truly a hidden gem in Oshawa. The house/Museum is amazing & deceptively huge. We took the Entertainment Tour (1st floor). The guides (Elizabeth & Gavin) were wonderful, knowledgeable, personable and patient (our small group asked a lot of questions). The grounds & gardens are beautiful. During the warmer months, make sure you have lunch, or High Tea, in the Tea House. Reservations are a must. Umbrella-covered tables surround one end of a gorgeous pool amid the colourful garden. The food & service were outstanding. Can't wait to return for the Christmas Tour.

My mom and I attended a Film Tour led by Parkwood this weekend. It was so much fun and so well organized! The tour was for one of our favourite shows, The Way Home, which has scenes filmed at Parkwood Estate. The tour took us to filming spots across Durham region and speakers from each municipality would share information about filming in their city/town. We were provided a coach bus, lots of food, and awesome behind the scenes details. People even drove/flew in from the States to attend. It was certainly a day to remember!

Parkwood Estate in Oshawa is a stunning historic venue — every part of the property feels timeless and elegant. The gardens, stone architecture, and natural light make it one of the most beautiful places in Durham Region for proposals, weddings, and portraits. This photo was captured at what many might think is the “back” of the estate, but it’s actually one of the main entrances — and it created the perfect romantic backdrop for a surprise proposal. The photography permit is very reasonable considering the estate’s history and charm, and it’s more affordable than many other venues of this caliber. Parkwood Estate is truly a hidden gem for anyone looking for a beautiful and memorable setting. 📸 Photos by JennaMorrisonPhotos

Beautiful ground with parking but be there early in the morning as it’s busy on the weekends specially during the weekend. There are guided tours or like me I just walk around by myself. Also check if there’s a scheduled events to help your experience. There’s a Tea House/Restaurant and a Gift shop. Also 2 washroom locations, by the gift-shop and just behind the Mansion. The garden is so beautiful and well maintained.
Rachelle L — Google review
Really beautiful place! Definitely take the tour — there’s so much to explore inside the house. It’s fascinating to see how the wealthy lived in the 1920s, with features that many of our modern homes still don’t have. What stood out most is how, when you have money, everything can be custom-made exactly the way you want it. A must-visit for history, design, and architecture lovers.

Weekend Getaway | An Afternoon Steeped in Centuries of History** Today, I took the little ones to explore a hidden gem in Oshawa—Parkwood Estate! 🌳✨ This 19th-century historic manor feels gently preserved in time, with ivy-clad brick walls, glimmering fountain waters, and meticulously trimmed hedge mazes that frame the estate in quiet elegance. Running down the corridor featured in *X-Men* felt like stepping right into the movie scene 🎬. Watching clouds drift past the spire of the clocktower, I almost thought I could hear whispers from days long gone. The kids cheered, “Amazing trip today!” 🥳 If you’re around the Toronto area looking for a kid-friendly spot rich in history and photo opportunities, Parkwood Estate deserves a spot on your list ❤️~ P.S. It’s dog-friendly too!
Nicole B — Google review
The garden & surrounding areas were nice, well maintained; the washrooms clean ! The tea restaurant was just regular, had other expectations like tea in Victorian times ; the website it said you can enter the house, then when we got there found out there is a fee around $20 per person and is only scheduled for certain times; parking was free
Sonia D — Google review
This place is truly a hidden gem. We had a lovely afternoon tea & our server Amit was super attentive and charming. Grounds beautiful and so well taken care of. Staff was super friendly, made us feel welcome and thanked us for coming from Hamilton & Niagara. Was truly our pleasure! 🤩 Wonderful experience all around.

Gardens
The Oshawa Valley Botanical Gardens is a diverse garden complex with seasonal displays of peonies and lilies. It features walking paths, waterfalls, and a small stream that adds to the serene atmosphere. The gardens are well-maintained and offer a great opportunity for walks, picnics or picture-taking. Kids can enjoy two small playground structures in the picnic area. During peak season, visitors can witness a gorgeous display of various peony varieties at the popular festival.
Oshawa Valley Botanical Gardens is a hidden gem and such a perfect spot for a relaxing day out! There’s plenty of free parking, which is a huge plus, and the place is full of photo opportunities — no surprise there were lots of people dressed up and taking pictures all around. The picturesque bridge over the stream is especially beautiful, though it did feel like people were just standing on it forever without actually taking photos, which made it hard to get a clean shot — but that’s part of the charm of a popular spot, I guess! The gardens are full of flowers and very well maintained, and the stream adds a peaceful vibe as you walk along. I saw lots of families with kids and dogs, and the two playgrounds (one for smaller kids, one for bigger ones) are a thoughtful touch. Bird lovers will enjoy it too — I spotted a variety of birds just sitting and watching. Overall, it’s a wonderful place for a leisure walk, a casual picnic, or a peaceful nature break right in the city. Highly recommend!
Vimal V — Google review
Such a beautiful location to take a stroll or to sit by the stream and listen to the water, great place to walk your dog or let your kids ride their bikes. I definitely didn't see the whole garden as we only soaked up the sun and beauty of one area for a short period of time. I'll definitely go back if I'm ever in the area again.
Kate O — Google review
Very Beautiful place to visit. No tickets. Free parking available. It's small Botanical Garden but must visit place if you are in Oshawa. Enjoyed watching big fishes. Designated play area for kids.

Oshawa Valley Botanical Gardens A peaceful gem in the heart of Oshawa! The gardens are beautiful, especially during the Peony Festival in late spring. Perfect for a relaxing walk, photos, or a quiet picnic. Free entry and parking are a bonus. Best visited in May or June when flowers are in full bloom. A lovely spot to unwind in nature!
NOSA O — Google review
Visited the Oshawa Botanical Gardens today for the Peony Festival, and it was truly a beautiful experience. The gardens are exceptionally well-maintained and clean, offering a peaceful and scenic getaway right in the city. The variety and diversity of flowers—especially the peonies—went well beyond my expectations. Every section of the garden feels carefully curated and offers something unique to admire. The festival itself was vibrant and welcoming, with plenty of local vendors offering a wide range of unique, handmade, and specialty products. It added a lovely community feel to the natural beauty of the space. Highly recommend this spot for a relaxing day out, whether you're a plant lover, a photography enthusiast, or just someone looking for a breath of fresh air.

The Oshawa Botanical Gardens are beautiful and peaceful. The grounds are well-kept, with plenty of flowers, greenery, and walking paths that make it a perfect spot for a relaxing stroll. It’s not overwhelming in size, which makes it easy to enjoy in an afternoon. The gardens feel calm and inviting, and it’s a nice place to take photos, sit, and enjoy nature right in the city. A great spot for families, couples, or anyone who just wants some fresh air and quiet time.

Great park, lots of space to sit and relax. Small ravine flows through the middle of the park. Good amount of parking available. There's a children's play area as well.
Joel D — Google review
Went about a week after the peony festival (mid-June) and the peonies were still in full bloom. It was kind of like a labyrinth walking back and forth through all the rows of different varieties. There are also other gardens that are meticulously kept and clearly cared for by loving gardeners.

The Oshawa Museum, managed by the Oshawa Historical Society, offers a journey through the history of Oshawa from its Indigenous roots to modern times. The museum features engaging events, inspiring exhibits, and an extensive collection of archival materials. Visitors can explore preserved buildings and displays that depict the region's evolution over time. Additionally, the Ontario Regiment RCAC Museum showcases Canada's largest operational military vehicle collection for an up-close experience.
Situated along the banks of Lake Ontario within the picturesque Lakeview Park, the Oshawa Museum chronicles the history of the region, encompassing the narratives of Indigenous peoples through to contemporary times. A visit to Oshawa would be incomplete without exploring this museum, which operates on a donation basis for admission. The tour guide provided was both amiable and highly knowledgeable.

Very beautiful & well kept historical homes. Lovely grounds near the lake Ontario. Great for tours, viewing & park land to explore. There is a boardwalk, benches for people watching & a pier to walk out into the lake. Kids park & a snack shake for convenience, parking on site as well (small lot) & several historic homes to view. The lake looks beautiful at this location, the beach is small as the surrounding area has private homes with cliffs.
Ramona T — Google review
This museum is located directly by the beach. There are 4 houses that I saw. We went to the first house and it’s the main house. The lady at the souvenir stand told us there is a tour and if we liked we could do the tour. We were there 11:30 and the next tour was 12:00. It’s free but donations excepted. We decided to walk around. We went to the next house and it was locked. So apparently you have to do the tour or you won’t be able to see the other houses. That’s why I gave it 3 stars because that other house was locked and it looks like a small museum.
Sheila D — Google review
I appreciated the inclusion and that they didn't hide any of the history. It was very refreshing and they did a great job to include diversity in their storytelling. They also do a fantastic job of creating substitute of bringing the information to visitors who aren't able to use stairs. Well done!!

If Casa Loma or Parkwood estate represent well preserved lifestyle of rich, Oshawa museum is historical archive of middle class lifestyle in 19th century in Ontario. Henry House remained in possession of family from 1815 well into 1900s. It gives a nostalgic window into life of that era. I particularly enjoyed kitchen items like candle maker, butter stamping tool, sugar in form of a candle like pyramid and the framed floral depictions made by human hair wrapped around wire as well as corn & similar items used for another framed exhibit among others Robinson home has been turned into a gallery showing Boy scouts items and Long house depictions I came to know that Oshawa has had historical items excavated in recent past, with items quarried dating back to 15th century..! Namely McLeod site & Grandview site. Overall a nice experience. Perfect place for museum and history buffs to have around an hour of historic adventure Highly recommended for connoisseurs of history. After visit you can always enjoy afternoon on beach which is within 50 feet from museum homes!!

Nestled along the Lake Ontario waterfront, McLaughlin Bay Wildlife Reserve in Oshawa is a nature lover's paradise. With over 400 plant species and diverse wildlife, this natural gem offers 11 unique trails spanning seven kilometers for walking, hiking, and cycling. From wetlands to forests, the reserve provides habitats for birdwatching and wildlife observation. Visitors can also enjoy serene waterfront views and spot various bird species while exploring coastal marshes and shorelines.
They have updated the trail over the summer, there is now ample signage directing people to various trails & showing where they are. It’s always so beautiful & you can have multiple different routes. I would say this is accessible & wheelchair/mobility aid friendly. There’s an accessible Jonny on the spot in the summer, & decent parking.
Kassandra K — Google review
Went on a weekday afternoon and it was very quiet, not busy at all. The Oshawa trail, which goes along the waterfront, is grass, so it can be super muddy at points. Only sticking point here is the trail they advertise as being accessible to visually impaired folks, called Dogwood Trail is not particularly accessible at the moment as many of the posts along it which hold up a guide line are knocked down, probably due storms this past winter. But important to note for anybody hoping to utilize that. Also make sure to wear long pants, tuck them into your socks and check for ticks when you get home - it’s a huge problem all over Southern Ontario these days!
Riley R — Google review
A beautiful place with tons of long and short trails, lots of wildlife (specifically birds), passing McLaughlin bay, marsh and Lake Ontario, rather easy walk, length depending on specific trail, lots of free parking and a direct short path to Darlington Provincial Park, normally not too many people and a bus stop only a few minutes away, can be alot of mud and bugs but to be expected for waterside trails

Our recent nature walk in the local wildlife park provided an exciting opportunity to explore and appreciate the natural world. The walk allowed us to observe various species of plants and animals in their habitats. We spotted several species of birds, including parrots and birds of prey. We also saw deer, rabbits, and other small mammals. The park featured a diverse range of plant species, including trees, shrubs, and wildflowers. The park's varied habitats, such as forests, grasslands, and wetlands, supported a wide range of wildlife. The nature walk in the wildlife park was an enjoyable and educational experience. We gained a deeper appreciation for the natural world and the importance of conservation efforts to protect wildlife habitats.

Nestled along the scenic Oshawa shoreline of Lake Ontario, Darlington Provincial Park offers a charming retreat with its sandy beach, nature trails, and picnic facilities. Despite being one of Ontario's smaller provincial parks, it provides an excellent opportunity to observe local wildlife such as white-tailed deer and monarch butterflies during their migrations. The park features picturesque picnic spots, well-maintained hiking trails, and a stunning beach that is considered one of the best near Toronto.
Good location for camping. You have to book in advance. Electricity connection is good. Bathrooms are fairly maintained. Walking 10 minutes trail to the beach. Price is around 50-60 cad per night. The only problem is that you can hear noise of passing train sometimes and noise of ongoing vehicle moving as it is close to the highway. Rest, we enjoyed a lot as we had a good group with us.

Beautiful camp ground, nice trails and clear beach when the wind is calm. Nice sites. Hilltop site was private with trees dividing each site, but train/ traffic noise are a bit annoying. Facilities were not well maintained, we had to bring our own toilet paper each time because it was always out. But the campsite was fully booked on a long weekend.

Darlington Provincial Park is a very convenient campsite, it is less than 1 hour drive from GTA. $38.75 per night for no electricity campsite. Our campsite is #103, it is close to the comfort center with washrooms and showers but there is no electric plug for hair dryer! Besides our site has a moderate pad slope and we keep sliding downwards during the night, well…a minor factor to consider. The site ground is covered with grass which is comfortable but we find the footprints a bit moist after one night. The site size is not big, only have a picnic table, sufficient for 2 parties. Privacy is good though. The very down side of this campsite is frequent train noise. The train noise runs from morning to midnight, quite disturbing. If you want to enjoy a quiet nature, Darlington is not the campsite. Short trail and will lead you to the Ontario Lake. You can see nuclear stations at both ends of the lakeshore.

I really liked the campsites and the walks throughout the park. I stayed at the cliff view and the view was amazing! However, the water quality was atrocious in some parts of the lake- honestly not surprised given that it's Lake Onatrio... I was only at the campsite beaches rather than the day use area, so not sure if quality was better there. I did see a child go into the water (from afar), so maybe it was better in the day use area. Restroom was pretty standard- not too clean, but not disgusting.

Went camping for the weekend. Campsite was huge and clean. I brought my dogs and they loved it. Very dog friendly. Washroom and shower station were super clean. They clean it in a regular schedule which is good. Lol There’s always toilet paper which is like a super bonus. Went to the fishing area but this year wasn’t so great as there was a lot of weed but boyfriend found a rock bass. Still had fun though! We saw a couple of big ones jumping up but too far from the shore. Park store was decent. We had some slight issues with the store opening time but it was rectify right away when i called to ask if they are open. Definitely a good place to check out if you need to get away from the city but don’t want to drive so far.

The park has a long shoreline and a beautiful view. It gets very busy on weekends and one might end up not finding a parking spot if they arrive late. We got to the park at 9am and it was already busy. We made a registration in advance to skip the line and didn't wait to wait long. This provincial park is very beautiful though it could have been managed better in terms of washrooms and showers. Despite this, we enjoyed paddling in the Bay Area and swimming in the lake. We won't probably visit it again because of the poor management, however, the park with its natural habitat is a gem that everyone needs to explore.
Dew — Google review
We had an enjoyable weekend at the park camping. Beach is clean and nice to swim and relax. Park is clean and nice trails for walking or biking. Only downside was the campsite location. We stayed on site 296 Hilltop Campground section. This section is so close to the near by train crossing, you can hear the train whistle clear and loud every hour, ALL DAY, ALL night. If you are bothered by noise, pick the section closer to the lake if you can. The staff are nice and helpful. The beach is nice but dogs are not allowed and they have no dog beach.
Robert J — Google review
A fine park, great to come as a family to the beach and whatnot, have been to better conservation related areas, but Darlington Provincial Park is an okay place in regards to nature. The downside is that reservations cost a bit, so it may be better to book online or just go to a better, free nature/beach area. Overall, it is an okay place to visit as the family, but it may require a bit of preparation and research beforehand.

The Oshawa Zoo & Fun Farm, located in Ontario, Canada, is a family-owned zoo offering visitors the chance to interact with a wide variety of exotic and domestic animals. With over 45 different animal species, including goats, camels, pigs, lemurs, kangaroos, and more spread across a large area. The zoo provides interactive experiences and educational programs for families and school groups.
Such a perfect place to visit with toddlers/young children. Great up close views of sheeps, goats, horses, pigs, llamas, alpacas, donkeys, Lemurs, Kangaroos and more. The best part is that most of the animals are so happy to be fed and you can buy popcorn for 3.50 to feed them. Some of the animals even love to be pet which is nice to see. Highly recommend coming here, your kids will have a blast. Highlight for sure is the pony ride $10 for 2 laps. We will definitely return.

We visited Oshawa Zoo and Fun Farm on a weekday with the family, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience! From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere felt warm and inviting. The farm is spacious and well-maintained, making it a perfect spot for families and kids of all ages. One of the highlights of our trip was feeding and interacting with the animals. They are friendly, well taken care of, and clearly love the attention, especially when you bring along popcorn, which they absolutely enjoy! The pony ride was another big hit, especially for the kids, adding an extra bit of fun to the day. We brought our own food and appreciated that the farm provides plenty of picnic benches, which made it easy for us to relax and enjoy a nice family lunch in a peaceful setting. The overall environment felt safe and family-friendly, with plenty of open space for kids to run around and explore. What we loved most was how engaging and interactive the experience was, not just looking at the animals but actually being able to feed them and spend time up close. It’s an activity that everyone, young and old, can enjoy together. We had such a great time that we’re already planning our next visit. If you’re looking for a fun and wholesome family outing, Oshawa Zoo and Fun Farm is definitely a must-visit!

Great afternoon at the zoo with family and friends. The kids lived feeding the animals popcorn. The zoo was clean and well kept. Great way to spend an afternoon and to wear the kids out. Also had an awesome meal at the food truck. Highly recommend for the kids and adults as well.

We loved visiting the Oshawa Zoo! It’s absolutely beautiful, with plenty of open space to move around. We went on a lovely Saturday and it wasn’t too busy, which made it really relaxing. It’s a great place for kids to run around and for families to enjoy some quality time together. We really loved it! The only downside is that it’s not very wheelchair-accessible, as there weren’t enough paths, but the scenery and overall experience more than made up for it.
R. A — Google review
A great place to spend 3–4 hours on a hot summer weekend. Entry is free for kids under 2 years old, which is a wonderful bonus. While I found the ticket prices for adults slightly on the higher side, the overall experience was excellent. Most importantly, my child absolutely loved it, making it well worth the visit.
JD B — Google review
We loved it! And so did my 1 year old. It's a very well organized place. Really huge area with a wide variety of farm animals and more. You can feed the animals, which is a lot of fun for everyone young and old. They also do a pony ride for children and wr also saw a kids birthday party going on. It's a lot of fun and we'll be getting a season pass next year.
Swati G — Google review
A great way to spend a couple hours keeping the kids entertained. Get up close, feed and even occasionally give the animals some pets. Staff are friendly and keep everything as clean as a farm can be. Only warning is check the fences before you stick hands through, some sharp spots still exist. All in all the kids loved it and we got lots of nice memories.

Fun place for family. The farm is large with Lots of animals. There are different varieties of farm animals, Llama, alpacas. They even have lemurs and kangaroos. You can buy popcorn to feed the animals. They are very gentle. It's definitely soothing to feed and pet animals. We bought the season pass. Really worth it if you plan to go more than once a year.

Amazing yet underrated indian restaurant. I tried after one of my friend suggested, and thats turned out to be a great dinner, having butter chicken in main. Keep up the good, guys. You are doing great.
Harpinder S — Google review
The spice and flavour of the food here is great, especially the garlic naan it was incredible. Moving here from downtown Toronto it was difficult to find a spot with authentic quality flavors until here. We would be regulars if they would simply provide bigger containers for the curry/gravies for takeout, as it's not pleasant and extremely messy opening them due to being so full (see photo attached). Not complaining about the portions, simply wish you would consider a normal size container like is provided by other Indian food spots, to reduce the mess and struggle to get the container open, as the heat and being so full creates a seal making it impossible without a massive mess.

Foods are very delicious. If you look for authentic India restaurant go there. Mango lassi is the best option if you choose to eat with biryani. 🤤

My Indian boyfriend took me for my birthday Jan 1 and everything was delicious. We ordered spicy but still needed to ask for extra red chili and it was brought out promptly. There was only one server working that night and she was swamped with ubereats pick ups and apologied about the wait (we didn't really mind). She had given us an order of pakoda on the house to make up for the wait. It is beautifully decorated inside and comfortable tables. Lots of vegetarian options that are clearly marked on the menu.
Adriana Z — Google review
We started off our meal with a Naan Platter. The various types of naan were all delicious with the cheese one being my favorite. This was served with a delicious tomato sauce that tasted like the sauce used in Butter Chicken A+++ We had a small group and ordered a variety of dishes. I personally ordered a Meat thali which came with two meat options and one veg option. I opted for Butter Chicken and Tikka Masala. For my veg option I chose Chana Masala. Everything was flavorful and delicious. I tried a few bites of some of my friends dishes and I enjoyed everything I sampled. The ambiance in the restaurant is nice. It's small inside, but lovely. I parked a block away and walked there. There is a public parking lot beside the bank that you can park in though, which I discovered after. Staff were all friendly and my experience was overall a pleasant one. I'll definitely be back!

Been visiting them (dine in or take out) for last 3 years and we love them! Great food, superb quality and good quantity. Their platters - Naan platter and fryer platter are must try! Chicken gravies are great but my favourite is Kabab Lababdar! The flavour is rich. Also you have to try their rice - we tried their Kashmiri pulav and veg biryani. The flavours are again amazing! They are located in Downtown Oshawa. Must try if you are around Oshawa or visiting the location.

Deeeelicious! Great prices, great portions. So many options to choose from and they use white meat! Friendly staff, wasn’t too busy when I went on a weekday night at 5pm. Naan is fantastic and homemade!

Really delicious and fresh food. Decent pricing and quantity. Street parking is available, sucks we have to pay for parking but not an issue. The restaurant itself is cozy, but very tight. I ordered the Meat Thali, it was very filling and came with half a naan.

The menu features a variety of dishes such as shawarma, falafel, kebabs, and other meat options served with fresh salad and basmati rice. The restaurant is known for its popular shawarma and offers an array of options to satisfy different cravings.
I randomly stopped in this restaurant on my way back to NYC from Toronto and I'm so happy I did. The staff were wonderfully friendly. The place felt clean and attended to and the koobideh was some of the best I've ever had. Highly recommend!
Haala A — Google review
After the restaurant owner’s response, I wanted to provide an update here. The food was good, but instead of apologizing for the mistake, the owner is asking me to travel from Toronto to Oshawa over a $1 difference. There was no rush, and my bill was already prepared before I approached the cashier and paid. ———————————————————- The thing is price on the menu is not matching with actual price even for the soft drinks. We ordered coke and it was 1.99 in the menu but we were billed for iced tea with 2.25

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Cyrus Persian Restaurant is an absolute gem! The food here is amazing—every dish is full of authentic flavour, fresh ingredients, and made with obvious care. From the perfectly seasoned kabobs to the fluffy saffron rice and fresh-baked bread, everything tastes like it came straight from a Persian family kitchen. What truly makes Cyrus stand out, though, is the family who owns it. They treat every customer like a guest in their home—warm, attentive, and genuinely caring. You can feel the pride they put into both their cooking and their hospitality. If you want delicious food and an atmosphere that makes you feel welcome from the moment you walk in, this is the place. A true family-owned treasure that deserves all the love and support it gets!

Barg Wrap (Steak) Shawarma Plate We stopped in today and ordered take out for lunch, after a friend had recommended this place to us. We spoke with the hostess and she was an absolute sweetheart. We did not know they have been around since 2008! However, there is new ownership this last year. I must say there's a reason people are recommending the food. There is free parking in behind the restaurant. The interior is cozy and has tables for dining in. We opted for a wrap and a plate; splitting both. The plate was loaded with rice, garlic sauce, hummus and lots of chicken shawarma. Topped with another sauce, this was the perfect combo. The meat was juicy and flavorful. There were multiple dressings to choose from for the salad. The Barg wrap was a steak wrap and my hubby commented on how tender the meat was. The wrap was an ok size and was a nice mix of veggies. All in all we had a solid experience and will definitely be back to try more of their menu.

Cyrus Persian Restaurant is a hidden gem tucked away in a modest house on Ritson Road, with almost no signage to guide you, which makes finding it a bit of a challenge, but totally worth the effort. We recently ordered takeout and tried their Chicken Shawarma Plate, Triple Koobideh Kabob, and Double Chicken Kabobs, and the experience was fantastic from start to finish. The Koobideh Kabob was absolutely the standout dish, juicy, flavorful, and packed with spices that hit all the right notes. Each bite was tender and lip-smacking, easily the best koobideh we’ve had in a while. My kids couldn’t get enough of the chicken kabobs, which were perfectly cooked, tender, and mild enough for their tastes. My wife really enjoyed the chicken shawarma, flavorful with just the right balance of spices and garlic sauce. While all the dishes were delicious, the koobideh stole the show for me, it was simply too good and had me wanting more. Considering its quality and the proximity to our home, Cyrus Persian Restaurant has quickly become a favorite for Persian takeout. If you’re willing to hunt down this little spot, you won’t be disappointed.

I walked-in, ordered Ghormeh Sabzi, and was charged $19.20. I sat down, looked at the menu, saw the price is $15.99 and realized I was overcharged. I went back and asked for the receipt, and took the attached photos. The server proactively came to me and acknowledged I was charged a different price than on the menu, she said it was $1 more because of the meat. The cheaper one doesn't have meat. The thing is, she never asked me if I wanted the vegetarian option or meat option. The menu also doesn't mention a difference in price between a meat option or veg, there is only one option and it has meat. Plenty of people have left reviews saying they were overcharged for various items. They seem to be doing this intentionally
Annabelle C — Google review
With friendly service and flavorful food, Cyrus is sure to satisfy your need for delicious lamb, beef and chicken. For the plate selections, substantial portions of your protein of choice sit stop a large mound of basmati rice, with the top third or so seasoned with saffron. While I would have preferred a bit more saffron flavor overall, the taste is satisfying when combined with the lamb, beef or chicken. Be sure to add the tzatziki and spices to enhance the flavors. A great addition to the menu would be some sauces such as cilantro mint in olive oil or a creamy smoked chipotle to really bring out the flavors! 😁 I also appreciated the side salad provided with the plate. It is worth noting that all the staff are friendly and courteous, and the facility clean and comfortable.

What a cozy Oshawa spot for brunch! Salmon Benedict! Grilled sandwiches! Pancakes (from scratch)! Great coffee! The staff is so friendly they really make you feel like you’re at home! The meals were delicious! Not to mention the food is all from scratch and prepared fresh! I needed to take a picture of the chef team making it all happen behind the grill!

Excellent restaurant for breakfast, brunch and lunch. Food is fantastic as is the service and hospitality. It is a family owned business. I really recommend the crab cakes eggs benedict with the homefries and baked beans. It is so filling and tasty - you will enjoy every bite!

The reviews were good so I let a friend there. I had the crab cake Benedict. I enjoyed it. My friend had the peameal bacon and eggs and he was surprised to see 4 slices of bacon instead of the usual 3 so great value for your money. Prices were reasonable. Honestly if this was in Toronto it would be packed lol Service was good. Just had to flag them for more coffee but otherwise a clean place and it wasn’t busy considering it was a Saturday morning. I’d go back plus parking is free on the weekends

I will give this breakfast joint a 5 star because of 4 things : 1) Family run and super friendly 2) Clean and spacious 3) Easy parking 4) This one is where the story comes into play… I had a specific craving for the flavour created by garlic and tomatoes… I ordered the Mediterranean Omelette and requested garlic and hot sauce hoping it would somewhat satisfy my taste buds. To my surprise the flavour was even better than what I wanted and 💯 on point !!!!! Loved it 💕 Thank you Christina for taking time out of your busy schedule to listen to my rant and getting me exactly what I was craving for !!!! 100% recommend this place.

I never take the time to leave a review but this place is so above and beyond wonderful I’m writing this while taking a break from my brunch. My boyfriend and I had to kill some time and stumbled across this place and decided to try it. You will not find a better breakfast spot. From the incredible atmosphere and lovely staff plus fresh homemade food that comes out quick and full of love, you will not be disappointed! I had the pork belly banh mi and it might be the best pork belly I’ve ever had. My partner had the over breakfast and it was HUGE and he said everything was so good! French toast was unbelievable. They will be seeing me many more times!

Teddys Restaurant & Deli, a renowned eatery in Oshawa, is a popular destination known for its hearty deli sandwiches and traditional main courses. With a charming and nostalgic ambiance adorned with Toronto Maple Leafs memorabilia and quirky knick-knacks, this long-standing establishment draws large crowds during lunch and dinner hours.
Came for lunch on a Saturday. Got a table straightway and they had turkey special and my daughter got the steak with mushroom gravy. Both were excellent and the turkey was good enough for two people. Fantastic service by Kimberly.
Jude M — Google review
First time at Teddys - came to try the coconut cream pie and was not disappointed though a big portion is is surprisingly light and creamy. Had the turkey dinner because where else can I get a turkey dinner in August. I got the smaller size 6oz and was still left with enough left overs for a whole other meal. My partner got the patty melt which the server said was her favourite dish. It was yummy had a lot of pickles/dill flavour if you like that. Quick and friendly service. Had to wait maybe 5 minutes to get a table on a weeknight around 6:30pm. Would go again.
Brianna O — Google review
Oh my goodness! Teddy's is amazing. The food is all homemade, delicious, and the portions are massive. Well worth the price. Service was great too, super friendly. I grew up coming to this place and it really hasn't changed a bit.
Haylee B — Google review
A relic from the past is still going but I’m not sure that is a good thing. Dinner on a Sunday evening at 7pm was met with immediate news that they were closing at 8pm so we were told to rush and order asap. Our server was rough around the edges, very short and to the point. Food was good. A nice portion sized deli sandwich and crispy, golden cut fries. This is why you’re coming to Teddy’s and the cooks are making it happen. The decor is horribly dated, the restaurant hasn’t been updated since the 90s. It’s like looking at a parody restaurant from a movie with all the sports and tchotchke memorabilia on the walls from years gone by. It’s in a desperate need of an update. My biggest gripe was the server taking our deserts order while in the middle of vacuuming the restaurant because they were closing soon and she obviously wanted to go home. It doesn’t make you feel very welcome. They also locked the doors and told us we had to leave from the side door instead of the main entrance. I don’t know if I’ll be back, it doesn’t feel like they want me to come back.
Daniel M — Google review
It’s a long line waiting for table during dinner time. I have a liver diner and warehouse deli sandwich. Liver diner server with perfectly cooked liver and two sides, if you’re a liver lover, don’t hesitate to take it, it will not disappoint you. But if you’re not that into liver, don’t bother for trying. Warehouses sandwich combines every kind of meat here, it’s amazing. My personal favorite is the soup servers with liver diner, it’s so flavorful.
蔡季倫 — Google review
Today was my first visit to Teddy's. I was impressed by the well-kept grounds and the charming interior, filled with vintage photos of Hollywood icons like Marilyn Monroe and Humphrey Bogart — a lovely, classic touch. The relaxing '80s music playing in the background added to the retro vibe and created a warm, inviting atmosphere. Great mix. Unfortunately, the experience was soured by the hostess, Dana, who was wearing perfume. As someone sensitive to fragrance, the chemical cocktail immediately triggered a headache and left a metallic aftertaste in my mouth. She passed by our table several times throughout the meal, and the lingering scent significantly took away from what could have been a pleasant dining experience. In a setting where food is being served, staff should be expected to follow a fragrance-free policy. Much like the smell of cigarette smoke, artificial scents have no place near food. The saving grace of our visit was our server, Cheryl. She was warm, attentive, and efficient. Her recommendation of the buffalo chicken wrap was spot on — my boyfriend loved it. While my Chicken Caesar platter was average (a choice I made myself), Cheryl’s exceptional service stood out. Overall, Cheryl was the highlight of the visit, while Dana’s fragrance left a disappointing and unnecessary impact. I recommend that management implement a clear fragrance-free policy for staff to help ensure a more comfortable and inclusive atmosphere for all guests.

I wouldn't give this place a 5 star for the food, that's just misleading. But, I will say the pastas are consistently good, especially the linguine Alfredo and lasagna...meatballs are tasty too, but the veal and chicken parm. has been often dry and sitting in sauce. Service is very good.

This restaurant prides itself on delivering an outstanding Italian dining experience, complete with meticulously crafted interiors and a dedicated staff committed to ensuring your visit exceeds your expectations. On the food front, their ravioli is simply delectable - packed with spinach and cheese, complemented by a creamy white sauce.
Drove there from Niagara falls to try some Italian food and It was a great treat at Avanti today. The food and service surpassed our expectations. Olivia's hosting was top notch, made us feel welcome and she was happy to have us. Served us loads of fresh breads that were appetizing. We get to meet Sahil from the kitchen. He is one of the kindest gentleman to come across and a very passionate chef. He helped us with the menu and gave his best recommendations which was on point. One of the best Ravioli there. Pizza was crispy and fresh as you can get👍. Tiramisu and Chocolate cheesecake was cherry on top. Hands down the best we had🤌 We have to return back soon to try other items from the menu.

So took one bite of my pizza and was taken away, immediately took out my phone to ensure I had it ready for this review. It was just so tasty, the dough so light, everything I look for in a pizza. I will give myself some credit for ordering the best pie on the menu (in my humble opinion). The olive oil and bread before the food is also incredible, mainly the oil doing the lifting. Best Pie in the 'shwa-- I'd say! Will return!!

Great ambience. Food was ok. All dishes needed more salt. Gnocchi was too dry, had to ask for more sauce. Service was a little slow, but decent.
Smeeta K — Google review
Good service, a little experience for the food served, a lot of mussels in the frutti de mare, but only 2 medium shrimp and 1 calamari on the dish, sauce was to watery and left a soup underneath.

We were 2 couples fortunate to find a table without reservations. We were going to a show at the Regent theatre. Perhaps we came across an unusually busy evening but we felt that the service of our food took a little longer than expected. However, the food was good all around. I did enjoy the salmon and my friend enjoyed the pizza. We will try it again.

We had such a great experience at Matilda’s! Our whole family enjoyed an incredible vegan meal — everything was fresh, flavorful, and made with real care. It’s not always easy finding a place that does vegan food this well, but Matilda’s absolutely delivered. What made the visit even more special was getting to meet the owner, who is not only super friendly but also a former Taekwondo Olympian — how cool is that? You can really feel the heart and discipline behind the food and the atmosphere. We left feeling nourished, welcomed, and already planning our next visit. Highly recommend!

Was in Oshawa with my vegan girlfriend and decided to stop in. Delicious! Very surprised, coming from a meat eater. We tried all the hot dishes available and we're very impressed. Food was very savory and well seasoned with great texture and flavour. Owners were very nice, helpful and even let us sample the dishes. Would definitely come back here again!

Went here with a group, vegan and non- vegans, everyone said they really enjoyed their food. So excited to pick up some feta...the closest to dairy feta that I've ever tried, it is remarkable.

The owner is wonderful. I bought many of her sauces because they were absolutely delicious. She stopped making them a few months back and when I came in to buy some I was so sad to hear this news. She still had some stock that were going to expire soon and gave me an entire box!! Wow- so generous and lovely. The food there is also fantastic. I LOVE their vegan/gluten free Mac and cheese + their banana chocolate chip muffins are the BEST. Highly recommend this spot. Great people and great food.

I eat at Mathilda’s quite frequently and want to share some things I love. She has catered my sister’s baby shower and fed us at many a family holiday. This past Saturday I picked up her Mac and Cheese and a few desserts for my family (brownies and Smore cookies). For the vegan and dairy free family members I have, these items were a huge hit and absolutely delicious. Mathilda and her staff are always so pleasant and accommodating. I will continue to support this business for many years to come and I’m grateful for all they do for the plant-based community. Thank you!
LAURA M — Google review
It’s been over 2 years (June of 2023) that I had the absolute pleasure and gastronomical delight of eating at Mathilda’s every day we were in Oshawa. Several containers went out the door for our trip back to NS … but by the time we hit the NB boarder it was all gone, sigh. I was lamenting how much I missed such heavenly vegan food with so many options and so much flavour without being overly spiced. I had been wondering, hoping you were still doing well, but wondering if you had ever considered a cook book. After eating an okay but … vegan meal in PEI. The lamenting started with other family members and I showed them your website then went onto FB. And here it is OMG you are doing a COOKBOOK. Excited as in over the moon excited. Great book on gardening by the way. KUDOS from a forever fan of Mathilda’s way off on the Atlantic Coast as far East as you can get on the continent without falling off. Seriously my mouth waters every time I think of your oh so delicious food.

Overall great experience! My Christmas plans changed last minute, and I ended up coming here for dinner with my son and my aunt. I called ahead to confirm their hours, and the person I spoke with was very friendly and polite. When we arrived at the restaurant, we were greeted at the door immediately. The hostess was very friendly, and personable. The restaurant was clean, and had a nice atmosphere. Our server, Hassaan, was incredible. He was attentive, personable, friendly and professional. Hassan went above and beyond the normal experience you'd have at a chain restaurant, which really made the experience better. Our food came out in a decent time. It was hot, fresh, and as ordered. The food was delicious, and the portions were pretty decent. I will definitely go out of my way to return to this location in the future.

Amazing time. Our kids always want to go to BP when we go out for dinner. We all love it and now with the NEW items it’s exciting for the adults as well. The beef quesadillas are a MUST try! They are incredible. Also, make sure you ask for Gary; he’s so great with kids!

Heather made our evening special. Wonderful smiles and energetic. She was friendly and awesome. Not for once we felt she was tired serving us. Loved it.

Just visited this location and everything was very much perfect until we got our cheques where they already added the tip by themselves and there was no option to select a tip option. I do not think that is an ethical way to take the tips unless the establishment is aware of it . Our total bill was $137.76 which we split into two that comes to $68.88 after tax and when the server gave us the machine to make the payment it was already set to $80.88 without even asking us we could have tipped him but how much we wanted and there were other guests around us that’s why we did not create a scene over it . Server() was only there to serve the drinks and to give the cheque most of the times the food was delivered by other servers. I hope this reaches to the management and they look into this because this is not acceptable.

The food was so disappointing. I wasn’t expecting a Michelin star meal but just something filling. The quality has really gone down here. Their lunch special pecan salad was such a joke. It looked like a charcuterie board for a rabbit. Didn’t even eat it. Ate half my daughter’s pizza, paid the bill and packed the rest to go. Went to Popeyes after because I was still hungry. I was happy to see halal chicken and a separate halal menu, but what’s the point when you only add <2 oz of chicken breast? I get the portion size is supposed to be smaller for the lunch special but jeeeez. A standard protein serving is 3.5oz at the least. I also tried their new “roasted carrots” menu side. Crunchy, cold carrot sticks. My whole experience was disappointing in general. Our server, Hassan, was so nice that I didn’t have the heart to complain or send the food back. I left annoyed and unsatisfied. I won’t be coming back unless it’s for the pizza.

We went to Boston Pizza for the first time on an anniversary dinner on a Friday night. I had booked the seats online since i expected there would be wait time given the start of the weekend. When we arrived there, the restaurant was pretty much full at 7:00 pm, and didn’t have to wait much to be seated. But by 7:30, there were a lot of vacant seats. There was not much delay to get the food and it was tasty. The quantity was good and filling. Service was prompt and excellent.

Whether you're craving breakfast, a light snack, or a hearty lunch, this establishment has something for everyone. The extensive menu features global comfort food that caters to diverse tastes, making it hard to choose just one dish!
We celebrated my brother-in-law’s birthday at Portly Piper in Oshawa, and it was a great experience! The restaurant has been beautifully renovated — it’s very spacious with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed throughout the evening. They even gave us a nice section of the restaurant to celebrate, which made the occasion feel even more special. We started with a variety of appetizers including onion rings, calamari, chicken wings, and nachos — all of which were fresh and full of flavor. I had the jerk chicken soup, which was absolutely delicious and packed with a nice kick. For my main course, I ordered the hot turkey, and it was perfectly cooked and very tasty. My dad had the steak and lobster, and he thoroughly enjoyed it. I also tried their lemonade mocktail, which was refreshing and a great complement to the meal. Everyone in our group ordered different dishes, and we all left full and happy. The staff’s service was excellent from start to finish. I would highly recommend Portly Piper Oshawa for any casual get-together or special celebration!

First time going here. We just ate here last Saturday night and we selected this restaurant to celebrate a birthday at. The location was clean, modern, spacious, with high ceilings, and the atmosphere was pretty great. It has lots of parking around the building. We were greeted right away and we didn’t have to wait to be seated. Overall it had great fast dinner service, excellent food, and we would all return. I would highly recommend it and I’ve already told two other friends to try this restaurant out. Thank you for making it a wonderful evening!

Relaxing end to a long day Stopped in for the ribs and wings special ($20) after a long, crowded train ride back from Niagara. It was surprisingly quiet for a Saturday night, which I really appreciated. The service was excellent our waitress was friendly and courteous. The food was great, though I did notice the ribs portion was a bit smaller than what I’ve had at other franchises (usually two pieces, this time just one). Possibly just cut differently. Still, it was filling enough that I had to take some home! The atmosphere was perfect, TVs were playing sports, music was at a comfortable level, and the bathroom was spotless. You know bathrooms and cleanliness matter to me a lot. A nice, relaxing way to wrap up the night.

I got to try their food for the first time sometime in Christmas with our work holiday lunch in Oshawa location. The servings of the food is BIG! It can be shared between 2 people. We ordered their calamari (so good), nachos, pita with different dips. All the appetizers we had are good. I had their chicken souvlaki- came with 2 sticks of meat, salad and rice. I really liked their salad that I end up ordering 1 for take out. Some of us had a burgers, fish and chips, pasta, and salads. All of us are full and very happy with the food. The staff are friendly and the location is clean. Parking can be difficult depending on the day you go I guess, it’s free. There’s a lot of us who went there so we made reservation. I noticed they have a party room with a good size, something to consider for gatherings. We keep coming back. Yes, their food is really good! Cheers to more visits to your store Portly Piper!

very disappointed, ordered buffalo wings. where is the buffalo sauce??? absolutely no flavour on these wings spent $32. wings were super dry i swear i could make better wings in my airfryer… more oil than sauce too

Food is always sooo good. They always seem a little disorganized when we order takeout. The website is always glitchy for me, the last few times for pickup we had to chose cash option when placing an online order, it wouldn’t take my CC. Food heats up well next day (portions are huge) can’t beat the price. I always get the chicken sandwich, fring combo and I have at least two meals for $20.

This establishment truly stood out as an excellent choice for a family dinner, fully deserving of a 5-star rating. Their service, wide-ranging menu, and exceptional food quality set them apart. With our reservation, we were swiftly seated. The food not only tasted delicious but was well-portioned and reasonably priced.. As food enthusiasts, we wholeheartedly recommend it, especially to fellow foodies. The standout burgers were excellent, accompanied by delightful fries The parking lot has also providing ample spaces for visitors. The restrooms were impeccably clean. This extraordinary experience has left us eager to return and explore even more delectable options from their exciting menu.

Absolutely impressed. Wow, kept coming out of my mouth as I ate everything. Seared scallops, phenomenal! I'm sure you can see by the photo how each bite would be so satisfying with each ingredient! Mussels with garlic white wine broth/sauce, phenomenal! Half way through, it was exciting when I found this beautiful lemon slice, which gave such a great touch for the remainder of my mussels/sauce. Took my family out for dinner based on reviews from a friend at work. She has a great palette for quality food, and Shrimp Cocktail did not disappoint! Had the seared scallops and Shrimp cocktail for Apps. Hands down best scallops I have ever had.. For main course we had. Lamb shank Salmon Seafood Linguine And the Cod. Everything was spot on full of flavour and cooked perfectly. But have to say the flavours of the salmon dish was best thing I have had in quite some time. Our server Roe was so helpful and kind while being very knowledgeable Chef came out to meet us and explained the dishes such a nice guy. We have celebrated birthday here and it was one of the top restaurants we have been in the past!! The food is top notch from presentation, quality to the flavours. The owner, the waitress and the chef were all extremely kind, added personal touches and it was such a wonderful atmosphere and service. We have had there oysters many times over the last few years and the large ones are absolutely delicious, fresh and perfect! Always excellent quality (even during COVID when we used to order takeout). The octopus and lamb were tender, flavourful and cooked to perfection. Oh and their baby changing room was fully equipment home experience from diapers to wipes to comfy cushions. Again we cannot recommend Shrimp Cocktail enough and will definitely be back many times! Thank you so much for such a wonderful experience!

Transportation in Oshawa

Getting around Oshawa can be a little daunting if you’re new here. We can help list some of the major public transportation methods if you don’t want to rely on a car.

Toronto Pearson International Airport

International airport
Airport
Toronto Pearson International Airport is a well-organized airport with amenities catering to travelers' needs. It offers a wide range of eateries and shops, free WiFi, and rotating art displays for passengers to enjoy. The airport also provides accommodations nearby, such as the Hilton Toronto Airport Hotel & Suites, conveniently located just minutes away. Additionally, Budget Car Rental services are available at the airport for convenient transportation options.
My experience here, for both the arrival and departure was good and smooth. Arrival on AI 187 from Delhi was good for immigration , luggage collection, complimentary WiFi and washrooms facilities. We had to wait a little longer than normal to get off the aircraft , though. For departure, the check in, security check all was smooth. For facilities , the gate here is little different from other airports, the duty free shops are just beside the gates, the seating area a charging point almost on every 2 seats. The walking from check in to gates are longer than normal though. Currency exchange here are in abundance but the rate is something I couldn't find a rationale to. For the transfers to this place, Uber and Lyft offer to select the drop off point as per the airlines , Hopp doesn't have the facility though. To ride a ride app vehicle get a level down to basement after exiting the arrival gates. Overall a good airport!!!
Alok M — Google review
Toronto Pearson International is Canada's busiest airport, and growing. After reporting 43.7 million passengers in 2023, it experienced a 4.4% increase to 46.8 million passengers in 2024. The first time I used this airport was in October of 2025, when I arrived via Terminal 3 (from Washington, DC) and departed (to Phoenix, AZ) from Terminal 1 slightly less than 24 hours later. Obviously, this is a busy airport (on the day I left, they reported via X that they were "expecting more than 128,000 passengers with 956 flights departing and arriving [that day]... "), so they are as efficient as international airport I've seen. There is also the normal array of (expensive) restaurants and a variety of stores that are willing to take you money as you wait for flights. That is standard practice in international airports, and Toronto Pearson is comparative. However, with 14.3 million of those travelers (about 30.5%) reported to be connecting passengers, it never ceases to amaze me how uncomfortable airport seating is. I didn't see many, or any, places to rest, lay back, or lie down. Instead, there were thousands of the uncomfortable airport seats that you seem to be able to find almost anywhere in the world, along with the requisite passengers stretching and bending as they battle to achieve some level of comfort.
Jared B — Google review
Arriving at the airport is easy, it’s well organized and accessible. The signage for each airline is clear and helpful. Baggage drop-off and security checks are usually efficient and quick. It doesn’t feel overly crowded most of the time. Make sure to enjoy your stay in Toronto, it’s a beautiful city!
Sebastian B — Google review
Pretty good airport. I only really saw terminal 1 and it is very efficient. Not too much stuff, really about just enough. Just wish there was better convenient food options. Some parts of the airport are modern and others lesso. They have a family lounge area with movie screens and couches for kids. I like that the security is efficient even though the lines can be long. They tell you the estimated wait time above the line.
Leonard — Google review
Efficient signage, large parking garage, helpful agents. TSA line took about 20 min on a Monday morning. Bathrooms were clean. Food prices in the airport were not higher than outside the airport. Appreciated tables with plenty of electrical outlets while waiting for the flight.
Anne P — Google review
In my opinion, this airport is a bit outdated and I wish they could revamp for good. The immigration system is so outdated compared to other countries especially they been relying on papers and manual approvals. The baggage collection is the worst of all. Especially if baggage in two belts, I seen some staffs throw the bags the middle to free up the space (never seen this in most of the airports I visited). I need to collect a yellow paper from immigration officer and needed to handover it while I exit and it’s not even checked by anyone so what’s the point?? I wish this airport could be better and reflects the prestige of Canada. I write this because even Thailand airport is much more effective than this one.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Toronto Pearson International Airport – Truly Amazing! ✈️🇨🇦 I recently had the pleasure of traveling through Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ), and I must say — it was an absolutely amazing experience! 🙌 From start to finish, everything was smooth, clean, and well-organized. 🧼 Clean & Comfortable: The first thing I noticed was how spotless the airport is! The floors, seating areas, and washrooms were all incredibly clean. 🧽✨ Despite being a very busy airport, it never felt crowded or chaotic. The overall vibe was calm, quiet, and relaxing, which made waiting for my flight so much easier. 😌 👩‍💼 Friendly & Helpful Staff: The people at Pearson are so kind and helpful! 💕 Whenever I needed directions or assistance, there was always someone nearby ready to help with a smile. Their friendly attitude really makes you feel welcome and cared for. 🤝 🚗 Plenty of Parking: Parking was also a breeze! There are lots of parking spots, and everything is clearly marked and easy to find. Whether you’re parking for a few hours or several days, the process is very convenient and stress-free. 🅿️✅ 🛫 Etihad Airways Experience: I traveled with Etihad Airways, and their check-in counters at Pearson were so well-organized. Everything from dropping off my luggage to going through security was quick and smooth. 👏 The staff were polite, efficient, and professional — making the start of my journey even better! ✨ ☕🛍️ Amenities & Atmosphere: Toronto Pearson also has a great variety of restaurants, cafes, and shops. 🍴☕🛒 Whether you want a quick snack or some last-minute shopping, there’s something for everyone. Free Wi-Fi was fast 💨, the signage was clear, and the seating areas were comfortable and plentiful. 🪑📶 🌟 Overall: Toronto Pearson International Airport is without a doubt one of the best airports I’ve ever been to! 💯 Everything — from cleanliness and comfort to service and organization — was top-notch. I left with such a positive impression and would happily travel through Pearson again. ✈️✨ Highly recommend Toronto Pearson Airport! Friendly people, great service, and a truly world-class experience. 🇨🇦❤️

It’s a nice airport with very poor signage. First off I’m driving up to drop off my rental at terminal 3. I pass a sign that says car rental with 2 logos of car rental companies. Naturally I say neither of those companies are the one I’m looking for so I keep driving. Nope. That was my turn off and I need to go around the airport again. Then I drop off my car and head to the terminal. There’s a sign that says elevator but no signs to say where the terminal is. Luckily I’ve been here before and remember I need to go up. Once I get into the terminal I need to get to Gate B. I follow the sign for Gates B and C. I start walking and it takes me to international flights. I turn around and walk back towards Gate A. I see off in the distance on the wall Gates B and C but I turn around and clearly see a sign pointing me in the WRONG DIRECTION. (See video) Lastly I make it through security and the area is nice and comfortable. But there’s a LOT of sparrows flying around in doors and they’re pooping all over. It doesn’t matter how nice your airport is, it’s not nice when you associate anger and frustration with your establishment from the very poor and confusing signage.
