La Table de Franck Putelat - Carcassonne

Restaurant
Haute French restaurant
Le Parc Franck Putelat is a boutique four-star hotel located in the heart of Carcassonne, near the historic ramparts. The hotel offers sophisticated rooms and suites with private terraces, creating a woodland retreat ambiance. Guests can indulge in the award-winning, double Michelin-starred restaurant La Table, serving contemporary cuisine and seasonal dishes. The hotel also provides onsite massages, a terrace, garden, complimentary Wi-Fi access, concierge services, and babysitting options.
Beautiful and unexpected experience. A last-minute decision to visit Carcassonne led us to book this hotel. Our breakfast was beautifully prepared with high-quality, fresh local ingredients and the artisinal craft of baking. The outdoor seating meanders through the garden. The staff was very friendly, accommodating, and knowledgeable . The room was comfortable, well-appointed, and relaxing. It is well located with a shortage walk to the historic city.
Kym A — Google review
Service a little wooden but attentive. Food was an experience but at the same time somewhat underwhelming. A bit too much of a focus on telling us all about Putelat's history and other properties...suppose that can't be avoided! Restaurant ambiance delightful.

Had a spectacular meal here. So many fun things to eat! We had the menu for first time visitors and highly recommended it. Great value and very delicious 😀. The cheese tree was amazing!
Sarah M — Google review
The food was as bland and bored as the decor. For me to say food is bland, as someone from the Midwest, should tell you what you need to know. The only people enjoying the atmosphere and evening appeared to be the young boy and his dad playing checkers together, which, sadly, was the highlight of the evening. We had the 8 course tasting menu with wine paring. I have never been more disappointed or unimpressed by food. After the pre-appetizers and bread, nobody looked excited or even pleased with their courses, we certainly weren’t. There was nothing exciting about the dishes, especially the flavors. The trout was fishy and bland. The pigeon was chewy and bland. The texture of the squid was the oddest I’ve ever had and the flavors were mediocre. Even the chocolate dessert was fishy, as it had anchovies in it. The wine was good and the staff were attentive. That is, until our courses were complete and we politely mentioned that we were not impressed or overly pleased with the experience. Then we were ignored, with empty water and it took quite a while to flag anyone down to get our check. Sadly, a very disappointing experience.
John F — Google review
The reception staff is very arrogant, the reception managers thought that we did not understand French and discussed our issue in a derogatory manner. We received a refusal to all our questions and only after persistent requests a solution was found. We tried to communicate with a smile but all answers were very arrogant. Nothing to do with hospitality but more like we were in a government agency with officials who were deciding whether to give us any benefits or not Also, they did not want to let us, hotel guests, onto the terrace, which the hotel shares with the restaurant. There was not a single person there, and we just wanted to seat in the fresh air before going to bed. In the rooms only paid water in the minibar, there is not even a small complimentary bottle, considering that there are no shops near the hotel. However, we liked the room itself

Lunch, magnificent. We had the 60 euro lunch (one main one dessert) which sounds like you'd go away hungry, but the many tiny amuse bouche (8 I think) with wildly complex flavours (cherry stuffed with olive tapinard) completely filled out the experience. With two glasses of wine each and a digestive schnapps at the end we finished on 220 euros for two and it was worth every cent, would go back every time we're in Carcassonne. Staff very professional and helpful, and seemed happy which isn't always the case in France, we were even invited to meet the chef in the kitchen (very The Menu kitchen). Really cool toilets (judge a place by the little things, the stuff they do well but didn't need to). Recommended, in fact I'd say it's a must if you are anywhere near Carcassonne.
Jonathan M — Google review
We dined here as part of the Preface Menu designed to make food of this quality accessible to young people. We had specific dietary requirements, which were catered for without hesitation by the chef. From entering it was apparent that the resturant was maintained to the highest standard, nothing was out of place. The staff were friendly, accommodating, gave and tremendous recommendations. The food is without doubt the best I have ever eaten, its creative, presented immaculately and if course in terms of flavours, wow. The combination of sometimes unusual ingredients, really shows the mastery of the chefs. Every dish was so well balanced. I could not recommend this place enough. Congratulations to all the staff, the memories of eating here will last a long time.

We have just returned from a short stay at Hotel Le Parc. I cannot speak highly enough of the service we received from all the staff, but particularly from Marie and Louanne who looked after us throughout our stay. Everyone was really friendly and welcoming but also highly efficient and professional. The rooms are a great combination of luxury and minimalism. We also had a private patio, with a jacuzzi, which we made very good use of. We ate in the restaurant only once on the evening of the Fete de la Musique. The menu was innovative, exciting and provocative. Chef Plutelat is well worth his michelin stars. We will return soon.

Fine dining restaurant
Restaurant
Restaurant Michel Sarran offers an upscale dining experience with a focus on local ingredients and reimagined meat dishes, seafood, and desserts paired with a selection of wines. The restaurant provides two distinct dining rooms - a modern space on the ground floor and a more refined ambiance on the first floor. Chef Michel Sarran, originally from Gers, has become a culinary ambassador in Toulouse, showcasing his expertise through carefully curated set menus that highlight the region's finest produce.
I want to give this restaurant the highest score as they are just so good at what they're doing. Food was overall very very good with some exceptional dishes in the total meal. The fish specifically was just incredible. Probably best I've had. Service is impeccable they are very good at what they do. It was shown specifically on us because we had many requests and allergy notes that were all noted and taken care of gracefully during the meal, before and after. We thank the team of the restaurant very much for being so welcoming, understanding and caring even though our many requests. We've had a wonderful time and would totally like to recommend the restaurant if you are thinking about it, definitely try it out!
Dotan E — Google review
My first meal in Toulouse and I picked this 1 Michelin star restaurant to try. Thankfully I booked it quite last minute as it was a last minute trip and I managed to get a table. The location is on a quiet street near the university but I managed to find it. Managed to arrived a little early and was able to enter the restaurant to get to my seat. The staff there not many were able to speak English so there was one who could speak quite good English and he was the main server to my table for the night. Since I wanted to do a degustation menu for dinner, there were 2 types of menus available. I decided to go ahead with the surprise menu as I wanted to surprise myself and see what the chef would come up with. Throughout the meal, I didn't have the menu and only knew what was in the dish when it was served. Most of the dishes were seafood based which I liked, and some of the dishes were surprising as I have never tried the combination of ingredients before. It was quite refreshing and unique to me that these combination could complement so well and great job to the chef. A truly good meal and nothing to fault about, its 1 star Michelin and yet it doesn't burn a hole in the pocket. Before I left at the door I actually met the chef and got a handshake. A nice way to end the meal and kudos to the entire team!

We had a wonderful evening in September 2025! The food was, of course, excellent, but the service was the best I’ve ever experienced. From the very start, we felt cared for and treated with genuine respect. Everyone had a twinkle in their eye, offered information and answers in a warm and friendly way, and showed great understanding of our limited French — though everyone spoke excellent English. Even three weeks later, I still think back on the experience with gratitude. Monsieur Sarran even came to the tables at the end of the evening, and we were grateful for the opportunity to thank him. What a delightful experience. Thank you!
Frode F — Google review
Amazing experience! I thought it was over rated being it’s a celebrity chef owned restaurant but in fact, it’s reasonably priced for lunch at 75€ for amuse bouche, aperitif, entree, plat, desserts, coffee and inclusive of wine pairing. Drinks are almost never inclusive of lunch menus in haute-cuisine establishments, so this was a good deal. Plates are elevated, even if they do the twist on your favorite bacon and eggs for brunch, as we came for lunch..It was still a pleasant foodie experience. The flavor construction of the dishes are excellent! The location is good, quiet street at the back of the university area and going to Compans-Cafarelli. The car parkings available right in front by the street. Decoration is tasteful and elegant but not stuffy and pretentious. Service is impeccable, servers are professional but not stuck-up or snobbish. The hostess/host were friendly and smiling. Even Michel Sarran himself came to visit every table and I complimented him on giving such a good dining experience. He was nice. Well deserved of a Michelin star. I keep coming back!

Fantastic. Attention to every detail. The staff were knowledgeable and professional. A delightful recommendation on a wine I would never have tried otherwise. Merci.
Winston S — Google review
Disclaimer: the 4 stars are related to the expectations we have from a Star restaurant and do not have an absolute value. The food, the wine and the service are great. Compared to other restaurants of the same category we missed something. The menu is definitely creative and interesting, but next to some absolutely outstanding courses we also got a couple of dissonant notes in particular regarding the dessert. The wine advices from the sommelier for each plate were absolutely outstanding ( worth 5 stars ).
Alessandro G — Google review
We had an amazing time for my mother birthday. Amazing food and service. And Michel Sarran himself came to our table !
Laurent A — Google review
Great lunch! was Highlight was the dessert and petit four. Had the duck for main course, it was tender and not over seasoned. I was slightly thrown off by the spring rolls for appetizers, they tasted good, just not what I would've expected in the middle of toulouse. Overall delicious lunch, really enjoyed the wine pairing and great value!

Auberge du Vieux Puits

Mentioned on
2 lists
Fine dining restaurant
French restaurant
Nestled in the charming village of Fontjoncouse, Auberge du Vieux Puits is a renowned restaurant and inn led by the acclaimed chef Gilles Goujon. With its relaxed rooms set in a half-timbered inn and an inviting outdoor pool, this establishment offers a warm and authentic setting for guests. The restaurant's cuisine showcases the rich flavors of the Corbieres area, presenting specialty dishes that are a true revelation for gastronomy enthusiasts.
An incredible restaurant experience. We’ve been 3 times and will go again. Impeccable service, stunning wine list, and food that makes you wonder why bother cooking yourself. An exquisite experience. Is it expensive -of course, but there’s nothing like it.
Jim M — Google review
We passed a lovely evening here with a largely friendly and professional staff beginning in the salon with a cocktail and amuse-bouche. I appreciated that despite being a 3-star we had the flexibility to take a cigarette between a couple services. The cuisine demonstrates technical expertise and studied attention though the style feels a bit dated (think a 3-star in the 1990s). The cheese service is impressive with a gamut of cheeses presented on a large wooden table that is rolled over. Very much enjoyed the effort in finding a balance between rustic tastes and fine dining. I did find it distracting from the overall experience that my husband received a menu with prices and my menu did not list prices. The chef graced each table with his presence thrice during service which is exceptional and it was a pleasant opportunity to provide feedback and get some face time. Glad to have checked the box. Overall however, if you are seeking a contemporary 3-star experience you may find yourself underwhelmed.

All you expect from a 3 Michelin Star French Restaurant: - amazing french food with classical tastes - surprising dishes - great service - huge wine menu Thank you very much for this great lunch experience!
David D — Google review
This was the last of my three stars challenge. Sorry for the delay in writing and posting the review. Follow me for all the reviews and updates on every Michelin 3 Stars in France, every Stars in Paris and much much more. What’s extraordinary here? A three stars must be. And this was one is. But it took me some time to put it all together. Then a sentence came up. A friend is like a beacon in the night. Yes because this place makes me think about friendship. Not the friend that Kundera would describe, more the ex best friend from an American writer, or even from Celine, accessible, yet deep, opening a window on another world. Going to l auberge du vieux puits, is like going to see this very dear friends that now lives far away from you. After a long journey you finally see his place. Your friend entrance will always shine a bit stronger in your eyes because you know what’s behind. Well, it will be the same here. It’s lost in the middle of nowhere (no offense, it’s part of the charm) but once you’ve been there, you’ll never see it the same way. You’ll know that this quite unassuming entrance, in this even more unassuming street, is the gate to great times. Once at your friend’s place, very quickly it feels like you’ve seen each other yesterday. Actually it even feels like you’ve always known him for years, regardless of the actual truth. At the Auberge, not only the service gives you this feeling, but also the cuisine. The service is one of a warm 3 stars. It’s technically an Auberge (inn) with the wife presence, still I forgot about that with the warmth of the staff (ok, may be the sommelier helped us there). There’s actually a slight contrast with the interior design that I would find a bit cold without them. The chef’s cuisine is at the chef image. The first impression will be very accessible, then you’ll feel that you’ve known him for years, because of the friendliness, warmth and « apparent » simplicity. And suddenly, at the end of your fork, behind the simplest vegetable, a ray of light shines in the night, and uncovers the deepest thoughts. Like a great friend provides a profound view in the middle of a seemingly simple discussion. We’re all well aware (we as « the world ») that the chef is known for a superb dish with truffles, but it is in some more humble ones that you can truly meet him. Who’s the chef? The chef is a MOF 1996 (best skilled worker in France, arguably the most prestigious distinction a chef can have, after the 3rd stars). MOFs have a very recognizable trait: perfection. But some can be lost in the quest for perfection. He is arrived. In a culinary world where the image can be more important than the essence. He’s reminding us that humble can be noble and that the noble is sublimed by the humble. An onion with peas can be out of this world, and the truffles wouldn’t express themselves the same way without the support of an egg. An humble Auberge can be noble. The chef is a beacon in the French cuisine, a beacon in the night, like a friend that reminds us simple truths, while not denying earthly pleasures. The crowd was international, seems to enjoy themselves. It’s a 3 stars but the atmosphere is more relaxed than in a palace or a high gastronomy grand restaurant, still I’ll dress up a bit. By the way did I mention the wine list and the cheese chariot ? No, I intentionally forgot because my doctor might read this. Let’s just say that the price are very decent for the wine, and the chariot the second best amongst the 3 Stars. Definitely a top tiers 3 stars.

We had an amazing diner here. The food was delicious, obviously. The staff is really friendly and… fun, who would have think? A few downsides: menu is a bit short and very classic. It is perfectly cooked, but slightly boring in my humble opinion. The place looks a bit dated in certain area. There is nothing magical about the place in itself which is really a pity. Last thing: they give menus with prices to women. I still don’t get how this sexism still exists. Especially when my wife booked the place.
Julien ( — Google review
We had an exquisite dining experience at Auberge du Vieux Puits in Fontjoncousse with friends. Special mention to the chef's creations featuring langoustines, courgette flowers, and truffle-infused egg. Meeting Chef Gilles Goujon was an honor. The culinary journey was remarkable, leaving us with unforgettable flavors and cherished memories.

Excellent food served with amazing style. Everyone very helpful and well informed. Each course an experience and delight. Wine list on a computerised tablet, but needs to be a larger screen and one that doesn't keep turning off to save battery power!
Graham D — Google review
This restaurant is excellent ! It was the third time we came there and we've never been disappointed. Every dish is delicious, especially their "signature dish" : a truffle egg, which is wonderful. The service is excellent and the restaurant room very cosy. And they got an impressive choice of wines, from the whole France and World.

Casa Sansa

Restaurant
Casa Sansa is a popular spot among locals, located in a vaulted bakery adorned with model boats and mementos. The restaurant offers classic dishes such as magret de canard in Banyuls sauce, a sweet wine specialty. Meanwhile, Garianne is closer to the grand new station and offers an amazing Catalonian dining experience. Visitors have praised the delicious Catalan cuisine, with recommendations for dishes like pane con Tomate and Boles de Picolat.
If you are in Perpignan and searching for a good place to eat typical local food, you must come here. Congratulations to the people who work in its kitchen. Their process and product are excellent.

Great restaurant, usually very bust at night. A reservation a highly recommended. Arriving for dinner in a Saturday night without reservation, so the only free tables were inside. We had the lamb shoulder, the hamburger and the Catalan chicken. Everything was delicious and the portions were good in size. Only thing, the chicken was a bit oily. The service was excellent, however the staff was not welcoming at first. They hesitated to let us in. Three staff members were asked and no one knew if they were able to serve us.
Hany A — Google review
What a lovely place. Very quaint. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating. We were two couples and we paid 95€ per couple. We had one bottle of white wine (great selection) 4 appetizers (mussels for me yum) and 4 main courses. One friend had the calamari for their appetizer. We all tasted it and it was delicious. I ordered the same for my main and mine was not good. I had chunks of charcoal in mine that hurt my teeth. I was sitting next to a drain in the sidewalk and the servers kept splashing me with water they disposed from other tables as the guests left. It was gross. The overall experience was OK but we will not return

It is an amazing restaurant in an nice alley with good decorations. The food is amazing and the waiters speek English + you have English menus. I recommend the fries and their homemade mayonaise. Amazing restaurant and don’t think twice about going

So Disappointed !!! The food was just ok. Its totally missed the mark. I researched before leaving for France for a loverly local restaurant and was excited to book when we arrived. First of all we wasn’t allowed to dine inside the restaurant and was told that we had to sit outside. Secondly the presentation and meal was just ok and was to be honest mediocre. I am really sorry that I am making negative comments but I am truly sad it was just ok.

Château de la Treyne

Mentioned on
1 list
Hotel
French restaurant
Nestled along the picturesque banks of the Dordogne River, Château de la Treyne is a luxurious hotel set within a beautifully restored 14th-century castle. This enchanting destination offers guests an exquisite dining experience crafted by renowned chef Stéphane Andrieux, who has honed his culinary skills over 25 years at this magnificent property. His menu features classic French dishes that are both elegant and flavorful, such as seared foie gras with rhubarb coffee sorbet and aromatic veal sweetbreads.
Absolutely incredible stay at Chateau De La Treyne. My husband and I stayed 2 nights for our anniversary - in the Cardinale room at the top of the tallest tower. It was the most unique hotel we have ever stayed in. The staff was so amazing and so kind. The food at the restaurant was delicious, and the atmosphere was unmatched. The terrace had the most beautiful views of the river. The chateau grounds were also extremely beautiful. Will absolutely be returning in the future next time we visit this region of France. The chateau is a bit remote but worth the trip. I would recommend coming with a car.
Elise S — Google review
This was definitely the nicest hotel I've ever stayed in. The restaurant was also beautiful - with a wonderful view of the river. A really special place and we hope to come back one day. The staff really made our stay special - all the little details like children's bath robes and a candy bowl when we arrived, afternoon snacks like small cookies or fresh apricots left in our rooms for tea and evening chocolates left on our pillows. The kids keep talking about the surprise chocolates left on our pillows each night - it really made our stay extra special. The restaurant is amazing and will be an experience I will always remember. The view is amazing. Even when this hotel is fully booked it feels like you're the only one there - there were several times when we were the only people at the pool and it felt like we had this big beautiful castle all to ourselves. The breakfast was delicious (albeit quite expensive) - everything feels really special at this place. It's really a beautiful special place. We hope to come back someday. The staff even arranged a babysitter and for the children to eat in a private room one evening so we could dine in the restaurant alone which was lovely and the kids really enjoyed their meal. One word of warning - even though the staff really was accommodating and tried to make our stay as comfortable as possible, I wouldn't say this is a kid-friendly hotel per say. French kids are really impeccably well-behaved. They sit quietly and patiently for hours at meal times, they eat absolutely everything, they barely make any noise. So if your kids are French, I think any hotel would be appropriate. If your kids are like ours (boisterous, bouncy, rambunctious) I'd probably wouldn't recommend this as a family-friendly hotel even though there were other kids here.
Jaya C — Google review
One of the best hotel/chateau experiences we have had. The attention to detail is exceptional. We went with our newborn son, and they made every effort to make our stay comfortable. There was a cot, changing table and little tiny robe and slippers for our son. During dinner they offered to help us with our baby so we can enjoy dinner. Our room is spacious and very clean. It is very quiet and comfortable. The restaurant is excellent. The food is modern, well presented and delectable. We had a great dinner and a breakfast. The staffs are extraordinary. Both front office and service staff. Everyone is polite, professional and ready to help. They made sure we had a great stay. It is so refreshing. We will definitely come back. It will be a stay we will remember for a long time.
Maleeha A — Google review
The setting is spectacular, if a little away from the main tourist sites. The staff, manager, and owner are friendly and helpful (and available). Breakfasts are wonderful. If you stay there, of course you will have dinner, and it will be exceptional.
Mark S — Google review
Excellent hotel, deserving of its reputation. Very kind and friendly staff, stunningly beautiful property, and very tasty food. The grounds on the property are massive, and they light them up in the evenings, very nice to walk around. The only caveat is its a bit out of the way from the attractions in the area. It seems like they target guests who primarily want to relax at the property and use its amenities, rather than tourists who want to visit the major sites in the region. Something to consider when booking your stay.
Viran D — Google review
An incredible experience! Our room had a sofa/ sitting area, king bed, and the largest bathroom we have ever had, with elegant double sinks, a make up area, toilet room, shower room, and a gorgeous bath tub. Rooms have lovely antique furniture and our room was above the Dordogne River with a beautiful view. Storm windows and room darkening curtains open and close with the push of a button, all in a 14th century castle. We stayed in La Favorita, with a large closet and dressing area and a separate dining room where we ate our room service breakfasts. All the staff is friendly and unpretentious and service happens while you are out. We spent quite a bit of time in our lovely room yet as soon as we left, the room was magically serviced with no detail forgotten. The Michelin star restaurant served the best food we had in the Bordeaux region, again, served promptly and without pretension. We loved this place! The location is in the countryside but only a few miles from lovely gardens, small villages, and Rocamadour. I cannot say enough about this place! The proprietor and staff are knowledgeable, kind, friendly, and we met likeminded fellow guests in this small and luxurious chateau.

Wine bar
Le 5 Wine Bar, formerly known as N 5 Wine Bar, is a must-visit for wine enthusiasts in Toulouse. This centrally located wine bar boasts an impressive collection of over 20,000 bottles and offers more than 500 wines by the glass. The accolades speak for themselves, with numerous awards including Best Wine Bar in the World and Best Wine Bar in Europe.
Service was warm and accommodating, and the food was perfect start to finish! The concept of the pouring wines is brilliant, and the wines are well described. The option to choose your size of glass is a huge plus.

I spent a wonderful couple of hours here trying some sensational wines and learning about different wine regions in France from the fabulous Lea. The atmosphere is cosy and intimate with a few seats outside. A great place to slow down and experience something unique. Fantastic guy working in the kitchen. Six stars for service (not five)
Kevin K — Google review
This was a fantastic stop during our wine bar tour. They have so many wines that you can sample to see what you enjoy before choosing a wine to have an entire glass of.
Kayla — Google review
Small friendly wine bar in a cobbled street in the old town. It has an ingenious system that allows you to try a wide variety of fine wines by the sip (degustation) or glass. We experimented with some wines we we'd have been wary of trying if we'd had to buy a whole bottle. Short menu of wine-friendly small plates. We had tuna cerviche and Serrano ham, both excellent. Great, knowledgeable service. Recommended.
SueH — Google review
This wine bar won its price for a reason. You have like 30 wines available in closed dispensers that you can access with a card. You see what each wine costs depending on the amount you want and simply choose and touch. The total amount is written to the card and paid when you leave together with the food. You can have just wine or a few appetizers, but the available menu easily works for dinner as well. Our host was very kind, each of the 2 evenings we went there. Very welcoming, open and eager to exchange a few words about her work, wine and life in general. And don't worry: she speaks English with perfection.
Alexander G — Google review
Excellent little wine bar. You can try so many kinds of wine with their pouring system and I thought all were reasonably priced. The Iberico Ham and polenta frites were also incredible. Overall, we adored this spot!
Cara S — Google review
Fantastic place! We're not very much into wine but we'd hard that even though the tapas were great and we did have a great experience. The bar is very nicely decorated, it has wine auto-service and dozens of different wines. The atmosphere is very classy and the tapas are really different. There is a tasting menu of 24 tapas for 25 euros (good value!) and even though the tapas are small, you get full. The only "but" is that it was such a long dinner but I guess if you're having wine you cannot drink and eat fast as well as enjoy it. Anyway... 100% recommended!
Teresa P — Google review
Wonderful place! Had a great time there, for a birthday. It's been a long time I didn't eat such sophisticated and refined food. More than a meal you'll go for a gastronomic trip with excellent wines along the road. You'll be taken care of by very a pasionate and highly-skilled staff. Count at least 50€ per convive for a menu with wine. I definitely recommend this place.

Fine dining restaurant
French restaurant
Located in the historic Carmes district, PY-R Restaurant offers a modern dining experience within a whitewashed, brick-vaulted space adorned with contemporary art and innovative lighting. Chef Pierre Lambinon, a Toulouse native, draws inspiration from traditional regional dishes and gives them a modern twist. Some of his specialties include boiled egg with cream of corn and a Moroccan-style duck confit. The restaurant's avant-garde ambiance complements the chef's inventive cuisine.
On my Michelin 3 Stars Marathon (follow me for all the reviews and updates), in the middle of a 11 in 11 days strike, I had a one day pause in Toulouse. I was on the waiting list for Michel Sarran lunch when I book this one “in case”. Although the first reservation went finally through for the lunch, I decided to rest and just have Dinner in this one. At the time, I didn’t know that it would become the only 2 stars in Toulouse. Impressive. So what’s exceptional here? It’s a 2 stars, so, it must be exceptional (One star interesting, 3 stars extraordinary) ? 2 things, Impressive without needing nobility. Impressive. The chef is really trying to create some moments to remember. He wants to impress, to divert you from your daily life by creating at least one sparkling moment to remember. I’m not going to develop here, but there’s nothing wrong in that. It’s actually quite important. In several years you may not remember the exact menu of a restaurant, but you’ll remember if something stroke you. One function of a good Michelin star is to create memories. Here the intentions are clear. From the start to the end. And it’s what one could expect from a 2 stars. Again, I think it’s a great mission to have to impress people so it creates a memory. It’s all the more impressive when you consider that the chef doesn’t necessarily use “noble” ingredients to achieve this. He achieves it by using ingredients available to him, will it be because it’s the region or because it’s commonly used by people who are living here (spices for couscous for example, or the Spanish influence). No need to impress with caviar etc… The focus is to impress with what one can find in the friendly store next door. It’s about integration. He’s impressing you with integration, not elitism, and showing you what we can achieve by taking the best out of it. That’s what really makes him a two stars. The room was mainly couples and family. It was a week day and I did not noticed business or big friends tables. Still it could work for both. The chef was around but I didn’t see him in the room. So I hadn’t a chance to speak with him. The staff was nice considering it’s two big rooms to managed (there are 2 floors). Bottom line: We spend a nice evening with a friend (it was to thank her for hosting me). It did create memories. It’s a well deserved 2 stars

First, I have to say - it is a lot of food. We are big eaters and arrived hungry but even we were defeated by the end. Food is technically very impressive, but I don't feel they delivered flavour-wise. Also impossible to find even a sample menu online anywhere, so it's really hard to know what you're signing up for which I find quite arrogant by the restaurant (I've attached a recent one to help others decide). There are only two menus and both are very seafood driven. To be, the chefs vision isn't clear - the staff say he loves to work with seafood but the dishes themselves were confusing. There were two lovely vegetable dishes that became overly complicated from additions of smoked fish jelly and trout eggs (I did not add the sauce as recommended) - why? The asparagus was already beautifully cooked and in season. Then there was a fish ceviche which was absolutely covered in coriander sauce overwhelming the delicateness of the fish - this is what I mean when I say the chef's vision isn't clear. Sweets and desserts were very good - though I can't really pinpoint any flavours that blew me away they were technically very well executed. The atmosphere is quite sterile and feels really awkward. Lighting is too bright, the decor is strange - there are rugby balls stacked up against one window - it all feels a bit disjointed. I eat at a lot of Michelin restaurants and for a two star, I thought this was underwhelming in terms of taste. I love food, but dinner went for 4 hours and we were quite frankly bored and couldn't wait for it to end after the 3rd hour. I love amuse bouche, but there were perhaps ten being served at once, and some were getting cold and others melted because they were all brought at once. There was so much food, I saw other diners get takeaway boxes. It's just too much - both for the mind and the palate - after 4 hours, I can't really think of any dishes that I'd go back for.

We dined at PY-r and chose the 8-course tasting menu, and I can confidently say the food was among the best I’ve ever had. Each dish was a testament to the chef’s creativity and skill — both in flavor and in presentation. The duck was outstanding, and the garlic butter alone deserves special mention. There were moments we were genuinely lost in how to approach the dishes — a sign of culinary artistry at its finest. However, the service fell noticeably short of what one would expect from a 2 Michelin star establishment. Water was only poured once throughout the entire evening, and we had to ask to be served wine — something that should be intuitive in a restaurant of this caliber. The pacing of the meal was also too fast; the entire experience was wrapped up in 3 hours, whereas a menu of this type typically deserves at least 4 to allow diners to savor and digest each course properly. Overall, I would give PY-r a solid 4 stars. The kitchen delivers an exceptional culinary experience, but the front-of-house team needs refinement to match the level set by the food

I have to say its good but not in my opinion a full 2 stars. The technique was there but the flavour wasn’t. The langoustines were not fresh tasting. We tried over 20 different bites but maybe just 3 were truly impressed by. I dont know if I will be back - there are better 1 stars in town. Good effort though but needs more focus on flavour delivery. Service was fantastic. Awesome bread too.

Fantastic degustation experience! The decor is cosy and offers a very intimate dining experience. You are presented with 2 rounds of amazing amuse bouches that prepare you for the wonderous dishes to follow. Each dish has a great balance of flavour and can be paired with an equally amazing wine. The only negative I would say is that my partner pointed out that she had an allergy to one of the servers and was still given a dish containing said allergen. She was not offered any alternative until later being re-given the dessert, sans allergen

We were not exceptionally enthusiastic about the taste of the food (menu “Ensemble 98€”) due to the fact that py-r holds two Michelin stars. Some dishes were rather bland, and the flavor of the individual ingredients was often not noticeable in a way as that is usually especially in Michelin-awarded restaurants. A few dishes were served with jus, where the jus was excellent and lifted the taste to levels above, but would have expected certain mire taste of the ingredients without jus. Also, the deserts did not fully convince us, in comparison to other Michelin restaurants, again. Oh, and the pork: while the doneness looked great, we were missing more tenderness, more taste, and also more crisp of the untrimmed fat. Well, the outstanding jus “helped” here again. Everything else of this restaurant, i.e. service, location, etc. was great and certainly like other 1-2 stars Michelin restaurants! If this restaurant would not be mentioned in Michelin, I would rate it here on Google with full (5) stars and the overall experience for the money is exceptional! But due to the fact py-r holds 2 Michelin stars, I rate one star down to (4) and am therefore way more critical..., sorry about that :-)

It is quite expensive for that taste. But I didn’t expected something else from a restaurant with one Michelin star. The dishes was good but I was thinking about more tasteful, taste explosions. But they had really nice and tasty wine which we decided to take instead of the degustation wine choses. Sometimes the dishes came a bit cold, colder than I think it should be served. The waiter put the dishes out of the kitchen on a table and waited till we was done with the once before, that explains why they came sometimes cold. And it was really fast served. We didn’t had a bit time between the courses. What was a little minus for me. The restaurant is really quite and has a nice ambience. The waiters explained every dish when it came to the table. And have us choses for the wine and which one could be nice with which dishes.

For a 1 Star Michelin restaurant, the service was a bit lower than expected at the beginning of our dinner service, however the portions of the food and the service towards the end of the meal was excellent.

Le Colombier is a charming restaurant that has been around since 1873, offering a variety of dishes such as foie gras, entrecôte steak, and meaty cassoulets. The restaurant is known for serving the classic cassoulet, a hearty slow-cooked stew filled with white beans, pork, pork fat, red sausage, white sausage and abundant goose confit.
The cassoulet was delicious and their chocolate mousse is also highly recommended.
Ryan S — Google review
Their menu emphasizes the ingredients in their cassoulet and it's true that the Toulouse sausage they use is absolutely fantastic. The cassoulet dish itself is well executed and lives up to the hype, slightly too dry for my taste. Honestly I can't say it is the best, since there are just so many out there. I'll try some other dishes next time.

Very known place to eat the cassoulet from Toulouse and other specialties. The warm decor is inviting to savour delicious specialties from the area and local wines; we has a cassoulet served in the typical dish, one assiette toulousaine (magret, saussice de Toulouse and confit), bread and an assiette (a plate in English) of 3 cheese with a delicious green salad with a croustade flambee (Armagnac) plus 2 espressi. Red wine was local: a Gaillac. Staff is Great: so smiley and so nice! Price is good! Nice decor!

Had an incredible meal with incredible service here. Both the foie gras and cassoulet were insanely good. Will return the next time I’m in Toulouse for sure

Incredibly delicious food and excellent service here. So glad I stumbled across it. The waiting staff really looked after me. The 3 course meal was amazing. A great place to try specialty dishes local to Toulouse, and the owner was also very friendly and welcoming. I really enjoyed my evening.

A lovely resteruant with the friendliest staff and a great atmosphere. The wine the waiter recommended was very tasty. We had the Prestige menu and the Cassoulete was amazing and so filling.

I was seated without a reservation with no problem. I had the extra ordinarily tender lamb shank cooked in honey and served with a good selection of garden vegetables. I asked for and received a petite salads vert even though it was something not exactly on their menu. The man and woman running the dining room were excellent. Friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable. The wine recommendation was outstanding. This is a place not to miss.
Wayne R — Google review
Passing by the place we made a reservation for the same evening. The food was superb but the service was very slow and non attentive at all. The food arrived first, far before the bottle of wine and i had to serve myself to a clean glass after waiting at least 5 minutes although our waiter had taken with him the dirty one. Those things are not acceptable if you are paying a bill of € 165.00

Auberge des Lices is a fine-dining restaurant located within a medieval citadel, offering unassuming rooms and a terrace. Highly recommended by locals, it's tucked away in an elegant medieval building on a quiet street. The menu features traditional dishes like cassoulet and also offers specialties such as parillada made with fresh fish. The restaurant has specific opening hours throughout the week.
I came here to try the traditional cassoulet, but every dish we had was good. The servers were polite and professional. Each dish was beautifully presented, well-seasoned (good amount of salt for my taste), and full of flavor. The only thing we found a bit unusual was not being allowed to choose a different table, despite many being empty due to the low season. However, that didn’t take away from the overall experience. I would definitely return for the food—it was absolutely worth it!

Did not stay at hotel but had one of the best traditional gourmet meals at Auberge des Lices during our stay! The octopus toast was art on a plate and the main entrees of pork and seafood were decadent. Dessert is a must as the pastries and ice cream melt in your mouth. The staff are extremely attentive and the atmosphere sets the stage for a romantic evening or an intimate dinner with friends and family.

We had dinner only. Very well prepared food, with good service. I liked that you can keep it budget friendly with the lowest priced menu or spend real money going a la carte and plumbing the wine list. You won't be disappointed either way.
Rogerio B — Google review
We only ate dinner here. The food was good but the service was not. We came with our kids and asked for our kids to have their food at the same time. It was completely missed by the waitress. One of our kids waited for over 40 minutes and ended up eating the whole bread instead of her 30 euro meal. Service disappointed.

Dinner for 2 a la carte - entree fine and my wife’s main course good. My steak was barely cooked and ok it’s France so I should know to go up one notch on the scale but this was raw and chewy. Sent back and cooked better but it was the worst piece of meat I’ve ever had - ate 5% left the rest and gave our waiter feedback - no comments other than an “ok” When paying again gave them feedback in English and was told I don’t speak English so then gave them the same feedback in French and was basically told tough- we don’t care. This is a dreadful restaurant experience and I suggest there are infinitely better places to have dinner - don’t waste your time and money here

Restaurant only: Very good service from a young but efficient team that had a pretty busy restaurant as soon as they opened at 19:30 on a Sunday. The €38 set menu was excellent value together with an very good Limoux, I think it was the Cremant. The cassoulet was delicious and substantial. A very enjoyable evening

We stayed here and had a meal in the evening. The room was lovely, very traditional overlooking the church. The food in the evening was excellent, classic french dishes. We had one of the set menus and it was good value for how much we ate.
Eva T — Google review
The restaurant feedback. The food was slightly below average, the service was unexpectedly not considerate (the waitress in the middle of ordering started talking to her colleague). From a restaurant with this rating in France I expected way more unforgettable experience. With all due respect, an average Italian restaurant is normally more tasty.

Les Fortes Têtes is a cozy bistro known for its polished French cuisine and easygoing atmosphere. The restaurant offers authentic and generous dishes, creating warm moments of conviviality. Guests can enjoy 3-course Sunday brunches and a well-curated wine selection that doesn't come with pretentious prices. The charming servers are attentive, ensuring a seamless dining experience by taking the time to understand guests' preferences.
We reserved for 15 people .The first service was very late for the drinks. For dinner you can get a menu for 32 euros for the three course meal. The fondant chocolat was delicious. Revisted in October'22. Very friendly and quick service. The menu du midi combo was delicious❤️

Could have been such a nice lunch had the waitress serving us been friendly. Everything seemed like such an effort and that she dislikes our presence from the moment we walked in. Veggie burgers were ok but not sure what they were made of. Beef burger fine but a lot of bread. Desserts were delicious. Wine €4,5 for a very small glass of rosé. Shame that the service was like that because it could have been such a nicer experience overall.

Great bistronomic cuisine : classic French with small fusion elements, fresh, local and homemade from scratch, flavorful, generous portion. Very affordable lunch menu. Excellent banoffee. Around 35€ for a 3 courses à la carte.

We were there for brunch on Sunday, and we were a bit disappointed. We were the first guests to arrive, but they already were out of fruits and cheese (it was on the menu). Also, they were stingy: they only brought a small glass of orange juice, and when we asked again, they said that another glass would be 5 euros (!). Also, they included a tea in the brunch, but when we asked to have some mint tea, the said that only black tea was included in the brunch menu. I would not go there anymore.

We had one starter and three main dishes. The burger was below average. The fish with pasta was tasteless, I could not finish mine. The waitress was in bad mood or really hates her job. I do not understand why this restaurant is high rated.

Excellent restaurant. Best meal we had in Toulouse. The wine selection was very good with plenty of verities, however none of them were pretentious prices. We enjoyed the Malbec from Cahors. The Sea-Bass and Lamb Shoulder were very good. The only issue we had was the cheese platter was only one cheese, however this was maybe just lost in translation, and it was a nice soft cheese regardless. Would absolutely return

I ordered the steak and fries. It goes very well with the homemade sauce. The portion is large and the price is reasonable. I went there for a get-together with my colleagues. The restaurant is not spacious but the decoration is warm.

Transportation in Occitanie

Getting around Occitanie can be a little daunting if you’re new here. We can help list some of the major public transportation methods if you don’t want to rely on a car.

Nearby airports

Toulouse-Blagnac Airport

International airport
Airport
Toulouse-Blagnac Airport, a 2-runway airport and Airbus test site, offers public transport connections to the city, surrounding region, and Andorra. It is highly regarded by travelers for its efficiency and friendliness of staff. The check-in process is smooth, security procedures are swift yet thorough, and the facilities are modern and clean. While some mention a lack of international flights to certain destinations like Asia, many appreciate the well-managed security queues and helpful staff.
This is the airport of the fourth largest city in France, but it is very spacious, clean and especially the staff here are very professional. In addition, the services are wonderful, you should experience it.

Awful airport. Overall it wouldn’t be bad the security is outdated, unacceptable and unorganized. 4 people hand off their bags at the same que and the staff mixes up the order of the boxes. When checking boxes they couldn’t identify which box belonged to whom. Maybe open 2 ques and then they wouldn’t get confused what belogs to whom. Electronics need to be taken out completely without anyting below. Very strict and specific with the liquid rules, but they don’t explain what can go in which bag. You need to prep 3 bags: makeup, liquids and medication. They don’t consider makeup liquid, but don’t accept cream format medication as medication. After reorganizing 3 times they spilled all of my items to the “dirty” scanning box from the bags without notifying me. Then in the end they wanted to throw out some items that didn’t fit based on their packing into the ziploc. Suprisingly, I could fit all items in the bag. The staff was rude. The gates are far from the stores and restaurants with few seating options. The info boards only show expected departure times, not the delayed. Most of the moving sideways are just decor as they don’t work. Doesn’t look/feel clean.

I have never in my life encountered such a rude airline staff member. It was at the Ryanair desk of Toulouse, France. At around 5 pm on Nov 3, we were trying to finish the visa check and print our boarding pass on B12 desk. When I was speaking to her in a normal tone, she suddenly raised her voice and shouted, “I can’t hear you!” My boyfriend then spoke louder to make sure she could hear clearly, but she still kept a hostile face and attitude. During the visa check, she was completely unprofessional. We are UK students holding eVisas, and each of us has to apply for a separate share code. The codes are unique for each person, but the valid until date is based on our visa expiry date. She looked at our share codes and insisted that because the valid dates were the same, our visas must be fake! She refused to print our boarding passes. We were furious — we explained patiently that as we both have student visas expiring on the same date and applied for our share codes on the same day, of course the valid dates would match. If she had any doubts, she should have contacted her supervisor or the UK authorities instead of making such an ignorant accusation. I can tolerate her rudeness — I’m an educated person with manners and a happy life — but I cannot tolerate her unprofessionalism and stupidity. Because of her, we almost missed our flight. Absolutely unacceptable.
QY X — Google review
The least worst European airport I’ve been to so far. I think the lower ratings might be attributed to the fact that Toulouse is a base for AirBus, so perhaps expectations are higher. But compared to its peers, this airport knocks it out of the park! Clean, efficient and well signposted.

Humiliating treatment by ground staff - Toulouse-Blagnac Airport: Responsive but Complicit On 24 Aug 2025, I was subjected to humiliating and intimidating treatment by Aviapartner ground staff at Gate 7 while boarding Ryanair flight FR1799 to Lisbon. • The gate was announced late (after 17:50, although scheduled to close at 18:10). • At 18:32, while still in the queue, I was suddenly pressured to pay a fee for my backpack — even though I have flown with this same bag many times without issue, and other passengers with larger bags were allowed to board. • Staff kept my passport and my phone (which contained my boarding pass and bank details), refused Apple Pay, and shouted that I had 30 seconds to give them a credit card number or my ticket would be cancelled. • They pressured me to call “my friend” for his card details (my boyfriend, who had already been forced to board without me). • When filling out the payment, they even misspelled my surname and brushed it off as “not important.” The Ryanair cabin crew, including the supervisor Gustavo, later apologized on behalf of Ryanair and said this behaviour damages their brand image. Other airport employees also showed visible disapproval. I reported all of this to Toulouse Airport. To their credit, they responded — but only to say that they “do not intervene in passenger handling” and advised me to contact the handler. Meanwhile, Aviapartner has ignored my complaints, even those sent directly to their Managing Director and HR Director. By allowing abusive handling companies to operate unchecked and refusing to intervene, Toulouse-Blagnac Airport is complicit. Passengers are left in a no-man’s land where nobody takes responsibility. A simple apology from the airline is not enough — the airport should enforce standards for the companies it licenses to operate within its walls. Until accountability is enforced, flying from Toulouse remains a risk of humiliation and mistreatment.

To be the “arrival” airport to Airbus it’s very disappointing. The physical space is deplorable, the floors are crumbling, ceiling is dirty and the restrooms … good lord totally disgusting. There is no restaurant and the only decent food to be served at place called bread& company, the food looks old and not appealing.
