Augustiner Bräu Mülln

Mentioned on
+1 other list
Brewery
Beer garden
Inn
Augustiner Bräu Mülln is a historic brewery and tavern that has been in operation since 1621, making it one of the oldest establishments of its kind. The venue offers both indoor and outdoor seating, including a large beer garden. It is renowned for serving traditional Austrian cuisine, with options ranging from freshly baked pretzels to sausages with mustard, roast chicken with dumplings, deep-fried trout, and an assortment of cheeses.
We’d highly recommend this enormous, beautiful, classic beer garden to anyone visiting Salzburg. The beer and food are delicious. Here are a few friendly tips: -It’s cash only. There is a bank/ATM next door to the beer garden if you need to withdraw. -For beer, you grab a mug from the shelf (two size choices), and pay for that size at the register. You then bring your mug to the team member that pours and serves your beer. -For food, there are about a dozen “food kiosks” that you can pay at individually. Across all the delicious selections, we loved the bbq ribs with baked potato and sour cream, sausages, apple strudel, and large pretzels. -There is indoor and outdoor seating in the spring. Outdoors filled up fast, but we loved sitting inside. It’s a beautiful interior. -We arrived about 10 minutes before they opened, and there was already a long line. The two of us were still easily able to find a table inside.

One of the most traditional beer gardens in Austria and one of the best beers I’ve tasted. A variety of options for quick bites that goes well along beer. It is so great that you can rinse your mug with cold water before being served so the mug is cooled. The place was full despite the garden is huge. It was even hard to find a single available seat. A definite must-visit biergarten!
Yeliz Y — Google review
One of the best local beer castle bars in Austria's Salzburg or Innsbruck cities. Once you figure out how to get and pay for beer you....then figure out how to get good food and....then find a public place to sit. There are reserved tables, so beware...lol. It is a multistory brewery with food vendors on the inside. Parking was relatively easy and adjacent to the brewery. One or two local employees got frustrated because we were not fluent in German, but many others were fine with our broken German.
T C — Google review
Bring cash and patience. One type of beer half or one litre. It's good. Food has different options where you queue. Meat places are in demand. We visited on a hot sunny day in September and the place was heaving. If you are one or two people in a group ask to join a table if there is space. Fabulous, noisy and delicious.
Catherine M — Google review
Authentic local jaunt that cannot be missed when visiting Salzburg! Low-key, casual food options served street style along with 1L steins of the locally brewed Augustiner Brau (500mL steins are available for those unafraid of the locals’ judging eyes). Ordered the pork schnitzel with kartoffel salat (must have!) and pork knuckle with horseradish, mustard and sauerkraut (all absolutely delicious) and enjoyed in the outdoor beer garden. Prices are unbeatable but note it is CASH ONLY.
Isabella G — Google review
Highly recommend a visit to this brewery. *cash only* Excellent way to have a local experience. They have several food stands which offered great options. I had ribs and a baked potato plate for just under 14€ and the food did not disappoint. The beer was also great (for a .5l and a 1l pour we paid around 11€). What to do when you get there: grab some food and snag a place to sit in the dining hall (its communal so dont be afraid to sit next to a stranger). Grab a steiner, give it a rinse, pay at the kiosk, and then give it to the guys for a pour. They'll come pick up your empty plates and cups from your table when you're done. Enjoy!
S V — Google review
Fantastic atmosphere. A little confusing at first - rather than a single venue, it's more a food court with various stalls, and you pay for empty mugs which you then get filled up with beer straight from a barrel - but it's all part of the fun. There are at least 4 separate drinking halls, and it's worth wandering around to check out the decor. The whole place gave a warm fuzzy feeling, and it was sad to be leaving!
Anonymous U — Google review
Awesome spot where you can tell a ton of locals go to. Very typical beer hall experience and tons of fun. 1L of beer was 8€, it's cash only! The food was reasonably priced too but don't expect great presentation, it's meant to be fast and easy going! It was quite delicious however.

Gasthof Alter Fuchs

Mentioned on
1 list
$$$$affordable
Restaurant
Gasthof Alter Fuchs is a charming tavern located in the heart of Salzburg, offering a delightful atmosphere and traditional Austrian cuisine. The rustic wooden interiors and quirky decorations create a cozy and comfortable setting for enjoying local treats. The menu features mouthwatering schnitzels and great wine at fair prices. With its proximity to downtown, it's an ideal spot for a quiet Sunday meal, especially before 13h when it's most peaceful.
My favorite restaurant in Salzburg! The food is absolutely amazing. I’ve got the pumpkin soup and ribs platter, and my friend got schnitzel. The ribs are absolutely mind blowing amazing, and the soup is the best soup that I’ve ever had in my life. The servers were kind and the atmosphere is so warm and cozy, really felt like I was in Salzburg. Recommend 100%!
Gyuna B — Google review
I just went for dessert and it was excellent. Great staff with excellent English spoken. Only complaint would be the price of a tea at €5.20, the more I have paid anywhere in my life for a tea!
Fraser B — Google review
What a find! We stumbled upon this restaurant by chance. We dined in the outside seating. The service was fast and the wait staff were helpful and friendly. Their English aptitude was a pleasant surprise. Their dinner recommendations were welcomed and the food was just delicious. We planned our future visit that very same day. The pricing of dinner, drinks and dessert was within our expectations. I highly recommend a visit. You will love it.

Lovely cream of brocolli soup followed by roast pork knuckle. Simple tasty food. Nice atmosphere, like being in the vaults of a pub. Staff were attentive but I wasn’t rushed.
Matt R — Google review
A very enjoyable evening in a relaxed atmosphere that felt like your favourite local restaurant. Staff were really helpful, we had a great pork knuckle and sauerkraut, followed by blackberry liqueur. Apfel Streudel was good and so was the ice cream with pumpkin seed sauce! Thank you!
Iain M — Google review
What an adorable tavern! My favorite animal is the fox, and finding a restaurant not only showing that off as its animal, but also coming with a bit of tavern "folklore," was so cute. Food was delicious, the waitstaff is very friendly, and if you go around 3-5, it's not too busy at all. I loved the Salzburger Bierfleisch, and their Apfelstrudel was great too.
Sara ( — Google review
We had some great authentic Austrian food here! The atmosphere was lovely and cozy, and it was a great location. We walked in but it filled up quickly after that so I’d recommend a reservation.

We visited around 13:30-14:30 and really enjoyed authentic Austrian food. You must try these meats!!

Zwettler's Wirtshaus

$$$$affordable
Austrian restaurant
The Zwettler's Wirtshaus is an old-fashioned Austrian restaurant specialising in local food like Salzburger Nockerl. They are known for their hospitality and make sure the food they serve is of good quality.
Wonderful Austrian restaurant. Cozy and quiet inside. Outside seating looked great but it was too cold and rainy. The staff were friendly and accommodating since we didn’t have a reservation. The turkey schnitzel was great, and the Austrian meatballs and potatoes were fantastic. I highly recommend Zwettler’s
SCOTT B — Google review
One of Salzburg's authentic Austrian restaurants. If you're looking for a restaurant like this, then this one comes highly recommended. Familiar flavors and dishes, delicately and deliciously prepared. When we arrived around 8:00 p.m., we had to wait about 20 minutes to get in. You get in, share a table with a couple of strangers... that's how it is. The food is brought in, the waiters are rushing around, but everything is in order. The food is delicious. You eat it and by then the place is emptying. Regardless of all that, I liked the place. It was worth the wait. Oh, and the prices are high, but it's definitely worth trying once.
Ermi M — Google review
We really enjoyed our lunch here - having been recommended this restaurant by a few friends! It’s a great place for traditional Austrian food with a rustic interior. We got the schnitzels, the grandmother soup (which is vegetarian, despite its name), and the bratwurst. We wanted to try Mozart’s favourite dish, as it’s apparently a specialty here in Salzburg, but we weren’t big fans of liver. The schnitzel was well breaded and went well with the sauce. It came with potatoes that were well cooked but slightly bland - it went very well with the grandmother soup though. I finished every last drop of that soup - it was on the more sour and tangy side, and I was the only one in my group who liked it. The bratwurst and Sachertorte were decent too. Service was excellent - quite unusual for what we were expecting from Austria, if I’m being honest. All the service staff were so friendly and they were always smiling and so on the ball. Our drinks were refilled really quickly and our additional orders were taken really quickly too! I’d recommend this place just for the service actually - the wonderful service team really made the dining experience here even better. We paid with credit card, and WCs were available (on the upper floor, requires stairs) and well maintained. Overall - traditional place with above average food, VERY good service! I wouldn’t hesitate to come back, and I strongly recommend it!

Everything was PERFECT. We stumbled into this lively pub atmosphere restaurant on a Sunday evening expecting just a decent meal. But Oh-My-Gosh…what we got was the absolute best meals (and dessert!) we’ve tasted during our 30 days of traveling. The pasta is fresh and prepared daily. The meats are local, tender and full of flavor. We enjoyed a meatball and mashed potato dinner and an order of beef goulash with their home made noodles. Absolutely delicious! We couldn’t leave without enjoying the warm apple strudel that came with two scoops of creamy vanilla ice cream. And even though the room remained very full during our stay the service was superb. We didn’t lack for anything. Our waiter was prompt and very personable. We plan to dine here again before we leave Salzburg.
Robyn M — Google review
We had a good experience at Wirtshaus Zwettler’s. The service was fast, friendly, and welcoming, which made the whole dinner very enjoyable. Even though this is clearly a spot that attracts many tourists (it’s located right in the old town), the food quality was surprisingly good. We tried the Schnitzel and the meatballs with mashed potatoes, both portions were generous and tasty. The schnitzel was perfectly crispy on the outside and tender inside, while the meatballs were hearty, flavorful, and came with delicious gravy. To drink, the house spritz with mint was refreshing and a nice touch on a summer evening. Prices are a bit on the touristy side.
Sandra I — Google review
It was a bit cool outside so we wanted to take a peek to see if there were any open tables inside. We were stopped near the front door and told that all tables were full but we could sit on the patio. We were hungry so we did. Within 1-2 minutes a party walked up and was taken inside, then another right after. Hmmm… no mention of a reservation from either so it seemed to be at the waiter’s discretion. Grandmother’s Soup was a pumpkin soup which was very good. The mixed salad had fresh greens, tomatoes, carrots, potato salad & cabbage salad (our favorite!). Gulasch was flavorful yet too salty for us. Meat was fork-tender & Knödel was very good even with using a small amount of the sauce.
Del — Google review
Absolute top during our multi-day trip, exceptionally kind waiter, super food from an authentic menu. The whole milieu is welcoming, and the restroom signs are hilarious! :) Thank you!
Tamás P — Google review
We ordered the traditional schnitzel, pasta with beef goulash, Viennese sausages, Grandmother’s soup, and finished with the classic Kaiserschmarrn. Every dish was absolutely delicious, generous in portion, and reasonably priced. The Kaiserschmarrn, in particular, was outstanding and highly recommended! Service was excellent—special thanks to Dima, who kindly explained the dishes to us and even agreed to take a photo together, making the experience even more memorable. Shaib was also very warm and friendly when guiding us to our seats. Overall, this is a fantastic restaurant with great food, a cozy atmosphere, and outstanding service. Definitely worth a visit!

Bärenwirt

Mentioned on

Austrian restaurant
Restaurant
Bärenwirt is a traditional Austrian inn located in Salzburg City, dedicated to preserving the iconic culture and cuisine of the region. The restaurant is renowned for its fried chicken, which is considered the best in Austria, as well as other classics like Salzburger Nockerl. The cozy tavern offers a warm, woody atmosphere reminiscent of a hunting lodge and has been serving traditional dishes since 1663.
I had been looking forward to this for at least two weeks, and it was exactly what I expected—the fried chicken was SO FREAKING GOOD. The outside was perfectly fried, and the tender, juicy meat was just right. They even served a sour potato salad on the side. This was the first time I’d ever finished an entire potato salad; it was really good. I managed to finish both the chicken and the salad, even though the portion was huge for me.
Olay Y — Google review
We stopped by for late lunch and got the spinach dumpling. It was divine!! That, paired with brown butter + cheese - 🤤 so satisfying, even for a meat lover. Aside from that, we had Apple strudel. It was perfectly balance with the cream and somehow tasted very homey. Not too sweet. And of course had beer - which is always nice and refreshing. Wanted to try their fried chicken as I saw many good reviews on it but sadly we were too full. Please do me a favour and try it ok? 😝 Service could be better as no one took our order for quite some time, even though there weren’t many customers at that time.
Siew F — Google review
The food is totally overrated. We ordered the pork ribs, schnitzel, and half fried chicken. The pork ribs were very dry, tough, and had a strong porky smell — not juicy at all, and I think they were overcooked. The schnitzel was average, and the rice that came with the dishes was rather tasteless. The fried chicken was not tender; the meat was dry and lacked flavor — honestly, even KFC or simple street-stall fried chicken tastes better. The restaurant’s ventilation is also poor, and the smell of cooking oil lingered on our clothes after dining. On top of that, the prices are quite high compared to the quality. Overall, it’s really not worth a visit.
Sue L — Google review
It’s recommended to have a reservation here before coming - we didn’t, but we were able to get an outdoors table arranged by the staff. We were initially turned away by the staff at the front desk (claiming that all the seats were reserved), but they were ?fortunately able to find us a table, after it was strongly suggested to them that many of the tables were empty. Once seated, service was prompt and efficient. The food took about 10-15 minutes to be prepared, and we were seated next to the kitchen windows where we heard lots of cooking noises. I whiled the time away imagining the schnitzel getting hammered away, it was effective. We also got the fried chicken - it was basic, you get exactly what was in the menu description, but it was fried beautifully, and the meat was appropriately tender. The schnitzel was similarly tasty, and went very well with the jam. The sausage was alright, just your standard Austrian fare. So was the dessert, it would have been ideal if there was an option to add ice cream to it, but there wasn’t (or maybe they were out of ice cream that day). We paid by credit card, and the WCs were well maintained but not the most accessible (requires stairs). Once we had finished our meal, it started raining and I thought the service staff did a wonderful job in ushering everyone back into the main restaurant. Overall, pretty decent food for standard (Austrian) prices, I’d definitely consider coming back (with a reservation) ;)
Lam T — Google review
Nothing to hype about this place, the food is decent, but not as surprisingly good or a must try place as others have mentioned. One thing that really bothered me was the greeter’s attitude, they seemed to look down on us for not having a reservation on a not so busy weekday lunchtime.
Egg T — Google review
Solid Joint Simple and to the point. The beer was cold, the plates were hot, and I can honestly say the tomato soup is the best I've ever had it my life. Get it while you can since it is on the seasonal menu. Grab the fried chicken, squeeze lemon over it and you will not be disappointed. Inside it may get loud, as there is very little room for the noise to escape, but it makes all the better for a home-type feel that the restaurant gives off. Definitely one of the more better restaurants we tried in the city. Give something a try here, especially if you are looking for a more traditional plate here in Salzburg. Pros Traditional Food Attentive Staff Not Rude Cons Loud and Noisy Space Small Interior
Robby L — Google review
If you're planning to have dinner here, please make a reservation ahead of time as it fills up rather quickly. The food is excellent! This is where you can eat some truly Austrian dishes. The service was also friendly.
Joel D — Google review
Don't forget to reserve a table! We managed to have dinner at 3rd attempt. Everything was great. Nothing was too salty too. The original schnitzel comes 2 pieces which was a lot for us so I wish we ordered less. Kids loved everything especially creamy mushroom and lemony potatoes which came with fried chicken.

Indian Restaurant Taj Mahal

$$$$affordable
Indian restaurant
Taj Mahal Indian Restaurant is a charming eatery located in the heart of Salzburg, offering a wide array of traditional North Indian dishes. The menu features an extensive selection of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian curries, complemented by delectable naans. What sets Taj Mahal apart is its commitment to using natural ingredients without any added preservatives, resulting in lean, low-fat, and high-fiber cuisine.
During my visit to Salzburg, visited this Indian restaurant that truly captured the essence of Indian cuisine. The food was authentic, rich in aroma, balanced in spices that reminded me of home. From the first bite to the last, every dish maintained the integrity of Indian culinary heritage. The ambience was equally delightful, charming, warm, and welcoming, making it an ideal spot for both family dinners and friendly gatherings. The portion sizes were generous, ensuring you leave fully satisfied. While the prices are slightly on the higher side, the quality, service, and overall experience more than justify the cost. A noteworthy highlight: this was the only restaurant I found anywhere in Europe that offered complimentary drinking water, a thoughtful gesture that goes a long way. Highly recommended for anyone craving real Indian food in a cozy and authentic setting.
Jyotirmoy D — Google review
A nice Indian restaurant with authentic decor and a warm, friendly staff. We had to wait about 15 minutes to get in and another 30 minutes for our food to arrive, which was a bit long. The Dal Makhani wasn’t to our taste, but the Paneer dish was quite good and Naan too. Outdoor and indoor seating available and it’s preferable to reserve as it is always crowded.
Hazem K — Google review
👍🏻 It can be reached by walking and is 9 minutes from the centre. 👍🏻 The décor is exquisite reflecting Indian culture and the seating is spacious and family-friendly. 👍🏻 Indian food they have is delicious. 👎🏻 The prices are overpriced. ⚠️ The order comes late, the waiting time may reach about 40 minutes, but the food is prepared fresh, which is the reason for the delay. ⚠️ They have toilets.
KHALIFA A — Google review
As soon as you step into the restaurant, the decorations and design give you the illusion of being in India.🇮🇳 Affordable price with amazing food plus relaxing atmosphere. I understand why it is always full-housed.🙂‍↕️ Lunch set available during lunch hours.😍 Each set includes an appetiser (salad/soup) and a main course with rice. Drinks need to be ordered separately. —Soup— Vegan and pungent with lots of spices. 🌱 —Butter chicken— The curry is delectable and savoury. Three pieces of chicken thigh. All are juicy and finger-licking good. Medium portion as you can expect from lunch set. Just the right amount for girls. —Mango lassi— Crushed black pepper added.

They brought the real Indian Kitchen to the heart of Salzburg. You can feel the food style and quality once you enter the place. The spices smell, and the beautiful decoration is adorable. The food is a different love story. 🥰🥰🥰

One of the best authentic Indian restaurants I’ve been to while visiting Salzburg. The atmosphere was amazing with great ambience. The menu and food were amazing and the service was top notch. The owner was very friendly and nice and accommodated us even though we did not have a reservation and we were a party of 7. Was a busy place even on a week day! Plenty of vegetarian and vegan dishes and everything tasted amazing! Definitely will visit again when I’m back.
Shivani S — Google review
We recently had dinner at Taj Mahal Indian Restaurant in Salzburg and were thoroughly impressed. The food was delicious, full of authentic flavors that reminded us of home. The service was quick and efficient, which made the experience even better. The restaurant was buzzing with both tourists and locals, a clear indication of its popularity. Though we were lucky to get a table without waiting, I’d highly recommend making a reservation in advance to avoid delays, especially during dinner hours. The ambience and décor were warm and inviting, adding to the overall pleasant dining experience. A special mention to the owner, Mr. Bharat Bhusan ji, who is incredibly warm and welcoming. He personally ensures that guests are comfortable and well taken care of, and it’s clear that he takes genuine pride and happiness in customer satisfaction. Having tried other Indian restaurants in Salzburg, I would definitely recommend Taj Indian Restaurant over others for its food quality, service, and atmosphere.

Austrian restaurant
Nestled in the heart of Salzburg, Zum Zirkelwirt is a charming haunt offering a blend of tradition and quirkiness. The rustic setting with fur-lined seats and wooden decor gives it the feel of a mountain lodge. The menu may be limited, but each dish is freshly prepared and delicious. The waitstaff, dressed in traditional attire, adds to the lively atmosphere by welcoming guests with yodels.
Simply tasty and wonderful food. Service was great and quick. We ordered, and food came out no more than 10 minutes later. The goulash was tasty, and my partner was impressed with the schnitzel.
Anne — Google review
The restaurant is very popular and a perfect place to stop for a meal after visiting the castle. It fills up quickly, so reservations are recommended. We ordered the local schnitzel, which was enormous—bigger than my face! It wasn’t heavily seasoned, so we added some salt and pepper ourselves, and the sweet-and-tart berry sauce on the side made it flavorful without being greasy. The potatoes on the side were also delicious, making it a very memorable dish. The apple strudel with whipped cream and vanilla ice-cream was absolutely amazing — the warm strudel was filled with fragrant apple chunks, and its sweet-and-sour flavor paired perfectly with the whipped cream and vanilla ice-cream. I still miss that taste even now! The vanilla ice-cream was so good that I almost asked the staff what brand it was 🤣. The staff were friendly and welcoming, spoke fluent English, and the beer they recommended was excellent too!

Die Weisse

Austrian restaurant
Die Weisse is a popular brewhouse in Salzburg that offers a modern take on traditional Austrian cuisine. Unlike some of the more touristy spots in the Old Town, Die Weisse is frequented by both locals and visitors. The menu features classic Austrian dishes as well as seasonal specialties, providing a refreshing twist to the meat and dumpling-heavy fare. Additionally, Die Weisse boasts its own brewery, producing original Salzburgian beverages.
The beer is nice. Because they made their own beer. The food is perfect too. They didn’t charge u the service fee. You can decide the tips you want to give. But every waiter and waitress is so nice. We spent one dinner and one lunch there. Very recommend this place.

Just a 3-minute stroll from our hotel, Die Weisse turned out to be the perfect spot for a relaxed Austrian dinner. I booked a week in advance to keep things smooth—and it was absolutely worth it. Service is spot-on, with plenty of staff making sure everything runs like clockwork. They offer set menus that include one of their own beers, but you can also order à la carte. The place is spacious, lively, and full of local charm—definitely a must-visit in Salzburg.
Stephanie T — Google review
Shoutout to our waiter, Tony! Ordered the Hungarian Goulash combo and girlfriend ordered the bratwurst combo. Both meals tasted excellent; bratwurst skin was snappy and grilled the inside was very juicy and plump. Sauerkraut and mustard were excellent and paired perfectly. Goulash was served in a ceramic tray that I loved! Meat was tender and sauce was deep and rich. Bread roll was fluffy on the inside and nicely toasted on the outside. Ambience inside was buzzing with energy from all the customers. Walking in from the cold and rainy weather, we immediately felt the warmth walking inside. I would highly recommend stopping in for a bite!

Awesome food, drinks and desert. The staff were very friendly and helpfully and the atmosphere was friendly and relaxed. One great advantage was that the kitchen was always open, so an early dinner after a day of exploration was great. Definitely make a reservation if you are going for dinner after 6pm.
Shane L — Google review
Good for enjoying the local moment with local beer. If the place is so packed, I don’t think all servers are pleased with welcoming customers but consider strangers - they told me tables are all reserved so only 1 hours left to stay (so it was sort of announcement) and even I was looking into menu carefully and he was like rushing me why I didn’t order ASAP. Simply good taste of beer but rest of experiences were quite bad enough.
Seung L — Google review
An excellent place for local cuisine and house brewed beer! Inviting interior, great staff, the food was delicious, and so was the house brewed beer! Very reasonable pricing and plenty of food options. All around great restaurant established in 1901 and loved by the locals.

Classic German experience, wonderful traditional atmosphere with great German food. Really enjoyed our meal at this great spot. Very happy to have some excellent gluten free options including excellent beer.

Die Weisse is a fantastic place that I'd found on Google - it's a bit of a walk from the centre (i.e. the train station), but well worth it. Absolutely super food and beer, I'd recommend the Summer Weiss to drink and the bratwurst which comes with potatoes, sauerkraut and mustard - delicious! The apple strudel is fab too, I don't think you could go wrong anywhere with the menu, which has plenty of choice. The staff are lovely and very attentive - I'd definitely come here again, as it has a great atmosphere and feels like a proper bierkeller. Just one tiny criticism would be that it's a bit confusing as to where to go to meet a server to be taken to your table (turn left after the doors at the top of the stairs and straight down the corridor), but this was no problem in the end.

Villa Crazy Daisy

Restaurant
Villa Crazy Daisy is a popular spot located on a bustling corner, offering outdoor seating that's perfect for soaking in the atmosphere of Austria. The menu is extensive, featuring a wide range of dishes such as burgers, steak, salad, and pizza along with an impressive selection of beers at the bar. Despite its unassuming appearance and quirky name, visitors were pleasantly surprised by the inviting interior and delicious freshly prepared food.
Was recommended this restaurant by our hotel for lunch and did not disappoint! Lovely bright and warm inside area, with a terrace with heaters out the front. The menu has a mixture of both typical Austrian items and other international choices. We went for the goulash (delicious with loads of meat) and the schnitzel. Lovely and crispy served with fries and cranberry sauce. The service was friendly and prompt. Only negative would be that my Diet Coke came from a machine (maybe it was Pepsi…?) and it was very flat.

Food is fine, but the server was perfect. Made my whole day. I was traveling solo and felt so comfy and the ambience was so nice. The server had the best vibe ever. For sure go to this restaurant if you want to be treated nicely and have a great evening. Even when it's a bit colder they have heaters and blankets! So you can still enjoy outside.

We had a great lunch — the cauliflower soup was creamy and full of flavor, the toast with fried egg was delicious, and the kids loved their burgers and meals. The service was super friendly and quick, and the atmosphere was calm and welcoming. We really enjoyed our time here — highly recommended!

Truly wonderful experience, Susie was our waitress and couldn’t be a happy more bubbly person. She was very accommodating and gave us great suggestions. The food was delicious, the pizzas were big and had a good variety to choose from. We also ordered the tomahawk and the schnitzel, both were perfectly done. During the summer, it’s quite lovely to sit out on the terrace, and they will soon have live music every Sunday, Monday and Wednesday. Would definitely come back again!

Great and friendly service. Generous portions of good food.

Accommodated a table of 5 with short notice. Once we got there they moved us to a better table outside because they had a cancellation. Very friendly staff and fast service. Live music and a nice outdoor area created a great atmosphere. Menu had quite a variety of different cuisines but everything we ordered was great

We really wanted to like this place. the staff were friendly and clearly tried their best, but unfortunately the food was a huge letdown. We started with the garlic bread, which turned out to be a supermarket-style bake-off loaf, not freshly made. The main courses didn’t get any better: the hamburger was dry and far too salty, while the pasta pesto was basically swimming in oil and had no flavor at all. Even the fries were disappointing . Overly salty, with some still cold while others were very hot. All in all, a very poor dining experience. The service was the only positive thing about the evening.

This spot in Zell am Zee is fantastic. The food is scrumptious, the service is top-notch, and the wait for your meal is pleasantly short. Prices are fair, and the atmosphere, especially with live music in the evening, is fantastic. Don't miss out on trying the ribs, steak fillet, pizzas and my personal favorite is the grapefruit spritzer. Highly recommended!

IMLAUER Sky - Bar & Restaurant in Salzburg offers stunning panoramic views of the city's iconic landmarks and the majestic Alps from its glass-fronted rooftop location. The restaurant features a chic interior with mirrors, muted tones, and elegant white linen-draped tables, creating a sophisticated ambiance.
The space is modern and well designed with beautiful views of the City. Went with a group of friends and would encourage making a reservation. We all enjoyed our meals, from the appetizer to the entrees. I had the Sea Bass, which was incredibly seasoned and delicious! Great service, too.

I expected more. The personnel could have been more customer friendly. It was not only us but with everyone. We ordered stake and we had to ask when it was served for the stake knives. The steak was more steamed than seared, tender but tasteless (Austrian rind steak), stake fries is just regular French fries. The cocktails were served in hands… not on trays… . The interior is elegant the panorama is limited. It is pricey but this is Salzburg and supposed to be a good restaurant but based on all above the experiences it is high price for the value. A better restaurant leader could make a difference.

Not a bad experience but a meal starts off on a bad note when you walk into a totally empty restaurant and are told the only way to get a window table is if you promise to leave within 1.5 hours. The only way we would ever be at a table that long would be because of THEIR slow service. After being seated we then waited 10 minutes for a menu to come. After that arrived service speed picked up and the food quality was quite good. We got out after an hour with the restaurant still having several empty tables. Portion sizes were good except for the ice cream scoop that was tiny for the price. They also offer a decent view. A good experience overall except for the poor customer service greeting.

Will NEVER go to this restaurant again. Why do restaurant place the rudest person at the front desk??? I experienced the folks taking care of the people with reservations to be very rude. I got there early and they're were NO one there in the dining area. They wanted to sit me in between a column. I asked could I sit at a table with a view since they're is no one there? The maitre'd said no cause all 2-chairs tables were reserved for 6:30 and 7. No problem that is why we are here early and only wanted apps and a drink. Nope! Uugghhh.. the only reason I don't give them less than a star is because the waiter was nice and the food was good. But the night was ruined by rude service at the beginning of my visit.

We had a wonderful evening at Imlauer. Although the terrace gets quite hot before sunset, it was lovely to stay there for drinks afterward. The food is beautifully balanced, and the service was attentive — they initially brought me the wrong dish but corrected it quickly and were genuinely apologetic. It would’ve been a nice touch to offer a small dessert or gesture, as my partner had to wait and couldn’t start eating until the correct dish arrived. The Wiener Schnitzel is excellent, and the Caesar salad with shrimp is also a great choice. One small downside: they don’t offer Prosecco or Crémant, only Austrian wines.

Nice restaurant with a good variety of dishes. The sea bass and truffle pasta were both delicious. However, I felt the strawberry sauce on the carpaccio didn’t quite work. The restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating, which is a nice option. Reservations is preferable.

Delicious! One of the best restaurants we have enjoyed in our visit to Salzburg and Vienna. We enjoyed the Seabass and the Lobster ravioli. The service was friendly and helpful. There are plenty of seating choices including inside and outside tables, overlooking the surrounding area.
Paul H — Google review
We booked this restaurant hoping we'd have outside seating but we were told it's not available. The food was good but nothing special. The server was slow and not very friendly. We were also surprised to see that we got charged for the bread that we did not order thinking it's complimentary like any of the restaurants here in the US. The place is a bit tight for all the people that evening.

Zipfer Bierhaus

Austrian restaurant
At Zipfer Bierhaus, guests can enjoy a variety of local dishes and their own delicious selection of beer. Thefriendly staff make it a great place to spend a few hours, and the historic setting makes it an interesting local sightseeing spot as well.
I noticed that the restaurant is spacious and has ample seating capacity, which is a pleasant contrast to some smaller establishments in the neighborhood where finding a seat can be challenging. We were warmly welcomed by the staff and served by an exceptionally energetic and passionate waiter, which added a lively touch to our dining experience. For our meal, we ordered the Wiener Schnitzel, Roast Pork in Gravy with Beer, an Austrian sausage plate, the special week's Soup with Beef Liver Dumpling, and Apple Strudel. As we had heard, trying Schnitzel and Apple Strudel is a must in Austria, and they did not disappoint. The Schnitzel was generously portioned and comforting—perhaps not the absolute tastiest but still very enjoyable. The Apple Strudel was delightful as well. What stood out the most for me was the Roast Pork in Gravy with Beer, which was incredibly tender and flavorful. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would recommend this place for anyone looking for a warm and welcoming dining spot with classic Austrian dishes.

This was by far our best meal of this trip! We lucked out and were able to walk in and get a table right away. Atmosphere is cozy and casual. The bier snack appetizer was delivered within minutes of ordering. Salami was delicious and the freshly grated horseradish was a first for us and we will look for this in the states. Our meals were perfect, though too much food and the Apple strudel w/ice cream was didn’t disappoint! Highly recommend.

Great beer. Nice local place. Food was good. Authentic local restaurant. Did not feel like we were tourist. Everyone knew everyone there. Would go again.

We reserved a table and got a nice quiet room at the back. The waiter was friendly and very efficient. Food was delicious Austrian comfort food and arrived very quickly. As expected, the beer was excellent and there was a wide choice. A beautiful historic building that is thoroughly recommended.

Food was decent with reasonably price for such location. Mostly Austrian traditional dishes. Very good beer I must say!! Friendly and super fast service. I love the outdoorsy and atmosphere of this place. Definitely recommend this to everyone.

A nice authentic pub, good choice of Austrian food and beers. The staff are very friendly, polite, and have excellent English for my poor German. Big portions and similar prices to everyone else. I've had similar food elsewhere in taverns in Salzburg but I think this food is better than the others, though its very much the same schnitzel, sausage, pork steak etc. Came here twice because I liked it the first time.Atmosphere is fine, not as busy as I would expect, but had a whole massive table for myself.

Zipfer Bierhaus is located in Salzburg's Old Town and the place has an old tavern feel. The food is excellent, and the Zipfer Special platter is a great choice for those who just want to try abit of everything, coming with a large schnitzel, sausages, and a healthy serving of fries. The BBQ pork ribs are another good choice, with the meat so tender it just comes apart. And don't forget the soups, all of which were generally hearty, especially on a cold rainy day. In addition, the servers were extremely friendly, and were fluent in English. English menus are also available.

This was our first stop in Salzburg, and I'm so glad we found it. Food was great, and had a 'local feel' atmosphere, including Bavarian shorts. We had the sausage plate and goulash and the menu was explained to us very well to help with options. Our waiter was very friendly and talked with us quite a bit after dinner, which was great because it was raining outside! I definitely recommend a stop.

Beautifully airport with snow topped mountains in the distance. Small but well functioning airport. Very friendly staff. Fun to see some in carnival costumes today. The Little bee was very friendly 🐝 Food & drinks a bit expensive. Quick boarding. Very professional staff. They were filming in the sunglasses department not sure who the lady was but people seemed very interested in her. Lovely airport to fly to & from

Airport Salzburg is a small nice Airport. You get easily an oversight. It has 2 terminals, while Terminal 2 (Amadeus) is just in winter active. Its a very safe place and there are also small bistro where you can grab some food and drinks.

A small airport surrounded by stunning mountain views, offering a peaceful and convenient travel experience. The basic facilities are well-maintained, and there's a small duty-free shop for last-minute purchases. Clean and tidy restrooms add to the comfort of the journey. My only concern was the lack of a water refill station. While bottled water is available for purchase, I would have appreciated a place to refill my own bottle.

It’s a small airport but have all necessary things for an airport. It’s well connected with public transport (bus). There is an open view point outside the airport. You can easily see landing and take off of planes closely. There are few food and other shops there. But only one food outlet after security gate.

Small but functional airport. I used it for both arrival & departure during he first week of December and the experience on both occasion were smooth. The station for the bus that takes you to the city centre is just under 100 meter from the arrival hall.

Its compact size makes it incredibly easy to navigate, so you can get from the entrance to your gate in no time, without the stress and long walks of a massive terminal. Access to and from the city is quick and straightforward. The staff are consistently friendly, helpful, and efficient, which makes the whole travel experience much more pleasant. A wonderfully hassle-free airport!

Salzburg Airport is a small but very practical airport. During the summer, the atmosphere is calm and not too crowded, which makes the travel experience smooth and stress-free. The location is very convenient, only a short drive from Salzburg city center, and it is easy to reach by taxi or bus. Inside, the airport is clean and well-organized, with basic services like cafés and shops available. Staff are polite and helpful, making the whole journey comfortable. Overall, it is a simple airport but works perfectly for summer travel.
