The Elephant Restaurant

Fine dining restaurant
Restaurant
Nestled by the yacht club and marina, The Elephant Restaurant is a culinary gem that offers two distinct dining experiences. On the ground floor, you’ll find a relaxed brasserie atmosphere where you can savor wholesome dishes crafted from locally sourced ingredients. For those seeking something more refined, head upstairs to the Michelin-starred dining room, where an exquisite tasting menu awaits. Here, seafood fresh from the English Channel takes center stage alongside carefully selected wines that elevate each dish.
Came here for a birthday meal with my 10 year old son. What an amazing experience. The food was out of this world. We had the set lunch. And what amazing value that is. The flavours are unreal. The restaurant has a really nice atmosphere and the service is second to none. The staff are so friendly and helpful and make the whole experience really worthwhile. I've wanted to come here for 20 years and now I have and it didn't disappoint. I can't wait to come back again.
Mark C — Google review
Had the lunchtime tasting menu. Superb value for money and some really good cooking. The stand-out dish for me was the makeral tartar. If I were to make any comment on the food, it would be that the stone bass lacked an acidic component. The service was good and attentive without being obsequious.
Rupert F — Google review
Was quiet for a Saturday afternoon which wasn’t a bad thing. Food fantastic service brilliant decor lovely. We had the tasting menu which was great. If you are in Torquay EAT HERE. We will be back.
Anthony C — Google review
As you'd the food was excellent at this Michelin Star restaurant. We had the tasting menu which didn't disappoint. We selected our own wine which was delicious, a New Zealand sauvignon blanc. The seating and decor is well done and stimulated a good conversation at our table. The restaurant service was excellent and staff friendly, apart from the front of house person who was not very welcoming.
Mark P — Google review
Visit for my birthday treat. We were greeted beautifully and offered a window table. Window was open but the offered to close it if we were cold. We were offered choices of water on the table. We opted for tap water. I was surprised at the lack of alcohol free wines (just 2) and no mocktails listed on the drinks menus. The maitre'd had good knowledge of the menu. The food was excellent and couldn't be faulted. However, we were let down by our server. They simply announced the dishes as "peach" or "Octopus" etc which was a bit disappointing when we heard everyone else's meals being delivered. Additionally they mixed up the additions to our meals which didn't matter to us as we shared them but it potentially might have been a problem if anyone had an allergy. The Creme Brulee was Spectacular!
Stephanie K — Google review
Best meal in Torquay. Not every dish was a homerun, but they were all good. The service was excellent
Ronnie Ø — Google review
Just SUPERB! Wonderful meal with delicate but distinct flavours. The team were excellent, helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. We had the taster lunch with matching wines, which made a birthday celebration lunch very special. At The Elephant, you pay for excellence and ambience, and the restaurant delivers in every regard, and more! Everything we had on the taster menu was delightful, and I have to recommend the petite bouche as a great way to prepare your palate for what is to come. Thanks so much for a wonderful experience, cannot recommend this highly enough! Enjoy!
Darren P — Google review
Delightful dining room, service from entrance to leaving was superb. We had the fixed price lunch menu but I wanted to choose a dessert from the carte, no problem just paid the extra. What I love about food like this is that it tastes great and although on the plate the items don’t look massive at the end of the meal you’re totally satiated but not uncomfortably full. The sourdough and mushroom butter was a delicious start, I chose the fish of the day (gurnard) and OH had duck leg - they were both those sort of plates of food you don’t want to finish because they taste so good. Plenty of wines by the glass to choose from, good idea as someone has to drive! Thank you Simon and all your team both in the kitchen and FOH. I definitely recommend you book a table here if you’re in the area.

Rockfish

Mentioned on
3 lists

Seafood restaurant
Rockfish is a sustainable seafood restaurant located on England's seafood coast. Situated by the sea and waterside, it specializes in serving fresh local and sustainable seafood. The fish is carefully selected each day at the market, prepared by skilled fishmongers on the harborside, and delivered to the restaurants every morning. The menu features classic seafood dishes such as dressed crab, oysters, prawns, and traditional fish and chips.
Fresh seafood, such as oysters, cockles, and crab, is very tasty. You can really taste the quality of the food. The white wine is fresh enough, matching the mains. Although the restaurant was slightly understaffed that day, the lady remained warm and attentive while introducing the dishes and offering service. For foreigners like me, the photos in Google Maps are not ready helpful. The kinds of fish are changing every day, and I suppose the cooking method may be varied. Booking in advance is recommended, especially for dinner.
XI F — Google review
The restaurant is very nice inside and not too big, so I think it's worth reserving a table in advance. You can also sit outside and look out at the harbor while eating. The food, which is seafood, is served here. There's a huge selection of fresh items. The lady is very thorough in describing what's available that day. The portions vary. I didn't like the fact that there are unlimited fries, but you can always satisfy your taste buds. 😀 The lady was very nice and took care of everything. I recommend eating here if you're looking for seafood.😀😀

We came today as a family of four and we were quickly greeted by a lovely waitress called Emma who took exceptional care of us throughout our meal. We want to thank Emma for being super attentive, professional and friendly. Her positivity and professionalism was clearly noted, she is certainly an asset to your company and we will be back again. Emma was keen to listen to us, took note of food allergies and made sure everything was 5star quality. She also made very good food recommendations and the food was absolutely delicious too - our thanks extend to the chef who made the delicious food - thank you Aaron.
Karolina H — Google review
They offered 5-6 different fresh fish options. The monkfish and sea bass were both prepared perfectly by chef Jay. Cute atmosphere and ideal location on the water front.
Mary J — Google review
Absolutely gorgeous fresh mussels. No rubbery ones. Kids had monk fish, they liked it, but I thought it was very expensive for what it was with an average cost of £32 for a meal. I didn't like the music, it was a bit loud. Decor was tasteful and the staff were friendly and attentive.
Maz L — Google review
1st time in Torquay. This restaurant was fantastic, top class food, had whitebait, and 2 lobsters... perfect. Can't fault this place.
Andy H — Google review
This place is amazing! The food is incredible, we ordered a few dishes to try and it was so good that we went back the next day for more! They really know how to cook fish, everything complements each other perfectly and you can really taste the freshness. The staff were all lovely too, the waitresses could not have been more polite and helpful. Definitely my number one spot in Torquay when visiting!
Jasmin — Google review
Wow. What a culinary experience. Fantastic menu and the catches of the day are explained thoroughly. Very knowledgeable staff. Would highly recommend to any seafood or fish lovers.

Rockfish

Mentioned on

Seafood restaurant
Rockfish is a renowned seafood restaurant located in Brixham, offering a great selection of fresh seafood dishes. The restaurant overlooks the Brixham Fish Market, known for its quality fish, and is part of Mitch Tonks' collection of informal seafood restaurants. With its prime location right on the harbor, Rockfish provides an excellent opportunity to taste the catch of the day. Additionally, they host a special event featuring 5 fish and chips every 3rd Friday of the month.
The Best fish and Chips I've had! Perfectly good, kids really loved their meals which included a chocolate ice cream, which was also the best chocolate ice cream ever! Stunning being able to sit out and look out to the sea, we could also see seals which was just a bonus! Service was brilliant. Definitely recommend!
Emily M — Google review
We spent a really nice evening at Rockfish and their mussels and ray were delicious. However, the crab salad was a bit disappointing similarly to the house salad which was just leaves and red onion. The service was okay but slightly scattered which culminated in one of the waiters spilling half of the sauce from the mussels on my lap. Normally I would expect a free drink or a discount on the dish but that did not happen. The views from the terrace were lovely and I added a star for that.
Ewelina T — Google review
We had an excellent experience at Rockfish in Brixham Harbour with my wife and our Labrador, who was very well looked after. The menu offered plenty of tempting choices, and we especially liked how the waitress described the specials, circling and pricing them on the menu as she explained each dish – a nice personal touch. The food itself was excellent and beautifully prepared. While the prices felt a little on the high side (more like London prices), the quality and service made it worthwhile. Our server was outstanding – attentive, friendly, and very helpful in guiding us with our choices. It all made for a really enjoyable evening. As an added bonus, because we were renting a local fisherman’s cottage, our first drinks were complimentary, which was a lovely surprise. Rockfish is a great spot for excellent seafood, warm service, and a relaxed atmosphere with good views of the working harbour.
Mod 1 — Google review
We had a lovely meal at Rockfish - the fish was so fresh and the waiter told us about all of the fish that was caught on the day. Sardines and calamari to start and the prawn tacos for main. We sat on the outside terrace, which is coveted and that was lovely. Would recommend.
Jess E — Google review
Fantastic food and atmosphere. Doesnt come much fresher than this as it is based at the harbour. Menu is varied on what comes in and is reasonably priced too. Being a Birmingham lad, I was amazed at how good the curry sauce was! We ate their twice in our 1 week stay in Brixham.
Matt D — Google review
Served by a very happy friendly lady. We tried the haddock and chips takeaway, what a bargain for a tenner. Very good quality fish and chips, nicely cooked and a generous sized portion. Enjoyed every mouthfull. This was our first time here, will definitely be back for more.
Mike B — Google review
After walking around town a few times checking the local menus I decided to go here. It’s got a nice deck out the back overlooking the harbour which is nice. It’s got an extensive fish menu so if that’s your thing this place is definitely for you. I couldn’t get past prawn tacos on the menu and I’m glad I picked it too. Yes! They were bloomin’ lovely! The staff are really friendly and the service was quick too.
Natalie M — Google review
Rockfish in Brixham is an absolute winner. The staff are superb, making you feel instantly welcome—plus, it's a huge bonus that they're dog-friendly. The fish is stunningly fresh; I had the John Dory, and my girlfriend had the monkfish, both of which were cooked perfectly. And seriously, the curry sauce is the best I've ever tasted. It was a beautiful experience from start to finish.

Seafood restaurant
No 7 Fish Bistro & Wine Bar is a charming seafood restaurant located in the heart of Torquay, offering stunning harbor views and a delightful dining experience. The menu features an extensive selection of fish dishes, including daily specials and locally caught seafood. Guests can enjoy the unpretentious and convivial atmosphere with wood floors, colorful wall tiles, and maritime decor. The owner, Paul, personally presents a tray of freshly caught fish for diners to choose from before describing various cooking options.
Absolutely unbelievable, could not recommend more!! Don’t bother going if you’re not going for the fish, would be a waste - but if you’re unsure about seafood I can guarantee this place will change your mind… Service was impeccable, namely our wonderful waitress Charley - she explained all their specials and options clearly and helped recommend the suitable wines to go with. The food itself is to die for, I had the 3 fish 3 different ways - the monkfish in butter was possibly the best fish i’ve ever had… We also indulged in a rhubarb creme brûlée - need I say more? We then followed the meal with one of their wine tastings - we were there for the Italian night. This was an absolutely wonderful experience, all the wines were gorgeous and it was fabulous to learn more about each one with our delicious nibbles alongside! Seriously, give this place a go.
Lottie S — Google review
A true gem for wine lovers. The selection of wines by the glass is outstanding, and the wine flights have been absolutely delightful — thoughtfully curated and a real pleasure to explore. Robin, the sommelier, brings incredible knowledge and passion to every recommendation, making each visit thoroughly enjoyable. We brought friends along this time and they were equally impressed. Visiting has become a yearly tradition we genuinely look forward to, and it never disappoints.

We were looking for a good seafood restaurant while holidaying in the area and came across no7. Wow! Amazing wine selection, and fabulous fish dishes. We started with scallops, and my wife had the mussels, prawn and scallop starter in a lemon garlic and herb sauce. Both were amazing! We then moved onto main courses of hake with lemon, herb and white wine sauce and gurnard fillets cooked two ways. Again, both fabulous. We were unfortunately too full at this point to sample the dessert menu. Will have to arrange another trip. Definitely recommended!
John F — Google review
We had been wanting to dine here for a ling time but was always booked up, we got lucky this time and I have to say it was worth the wait! We started upstairs in the wine bar and later moved downstairs to eat. Everything we had was absolutely delicious, the wines, the food! The place feels cozy and very special, I hope I have the opportunity to come back. I loved everything I had, I tried the mussels, garlic bread, the fish stew, my partner had the three fish special and I had the bream, I finished with the sticky toffee pudding, by far the best I’ve ever had!
Lixx D — Google review
The best bistro in Torquay! The best fish in Torquay! Super quality wines and fine dining! Strongly recommend!
Seb B — Google review
Awesome seafood. Fantastic service, catered for our group last minute and not disappointed at all. The fish was so fresh and perfectly cooked.
James H — Google review
Quite expensive but totally worth it. 5 star food and 5 star service. They said they have a vegan menu but brought out a vegetarian menu. I had a vegetable curry but wasn't expecting anything amazing as I was treating my partner who is a massive fish fan. My curry was surprisingly top notch. My partner also rated this place 5 stars for his amazing fishy meal. We would 💯 recommend
Julie W — Google review
This place is definitely worth the visit. Staff were friendly, smart and attentive. My wife booked the family here for my birthday, the birthday banner and the ice cream dessert were a nice touch. A tray of fresh fish were brought to our table and the cuts and preparation were explained to us. We all enjoyed the food which was delicious. Our eight year old tried three different fish on the specials board a loved. We would highly recommend and revisit on our next visit.

Nestled in the charming heart of Torquay, The Orange Tree Restaurant is a delightful culinary escape that showcases an ever-evolving menu inspired by British and European cuisine. This hidden gem prides itself on using seasonal produce sourced from local suppliers, ensuring each dish bursts with fresh flavors that linger long after your meal. We had a wonderful evening at The Orange Tree in Torquay. This lovely little traditional bistro is tucked away in a quiet spot, offering a peaceful and intimate setting for dinner. From the moment we arrived, the hosts were friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home. We were drawn to the restaurant after spotting the Tournedos with Wild Mushroom and Shallots on the menu, and it absolutely lived up to expectations. It was cooked to perfection and packed full of rich, indulgent flavours. The overall experience was warm, welcoming, and delicious, everything you could want for a relaxing evening out. Thank you to the team at The Orange Tree for such a lovely night. Highly recommended!

Lovely ambience, soft music playing in the back ground. Staff were very polite. Wasn't rushed at all which was nice. Food was absolutely amazing , the flavours were out of this world. Will definitely be going back. Thank you so.much for making our evening with you memorable.

Fantastic food. Great service. A great little gem of a restaurant nestled within easy walking distance of the harbour. We went for our wedding anniversary and it was exceptional from start to finish. Thank you for a great night, great food and good wines.
Mike N — Google review
This was a great place to visit. All the food delicious and beautifully presented. Staff and owner were very attentive and we wasn't left wanting for anything. It was my wife's birthday and and we booked last minute. We would happily visit again any day and will next time we visit the area
Tr3v — Google review
Food was absolutely amazing! Did the tester menu at £95 each and it was excellent up to the main. Arrived at 7pm All dishes came out in a very reasonable time with wine to match. Then at 8pm we seemed to have been forgotten about we waited 1 hour and 30 minutes for desert, we queried it a few times and just got "we'll check that for you" it took so long that we ended up asking for the bill and leaving before being able to try the desert. I personally don't think waiting over an hour for your last dish is acceptable. So food was excellent, customer service and time keeping very unsatisfactory. If the last dish (desert) had come as quick as all the other dishes, we would have stayed for drinks after. But we had another booking at 9.30pm which we were half hour late for.
Cryptnito — Google review
Dog friendly. Some of the best food we've ever had. Everything was perfection. Deserves a much higher rating. I'd put this down as the MUST VISIT place for anyone going to Torquay.
Benjamin S — Google review
The food yet again was phenomenal. The only slight criticism is that I wasn't keen on the wine you get with the taster menu(the red wine and port) and would of liked two bits of bread with the parfait. I only gave a 4 star on the atmosphere because it was a really quiet Saturday night and there was only a small amount of customers in. The people are so lovely as well!
Charlotte H — Google review
Was the worst tasting menu I have ever had. Was looking forward to going there for a special occasion . Thought I'd have the taster menu which I expected would showcase the best the chef had to offer. I was bitterly dissapointed . The bench mark was set low with industrial part baked bread rolls. Better are to be had a hundred yards down the road at the local supermarket the coop . 2 big bowls of soup were served which I thought was a bit heavy for a taster menu. The 2 slices of duck breast were a little dry .the presentation was fair enough although a bit dated by today's standards with decoration consisting of flowers and pea shoots. The main course (beef)was stuck to the plate although the taste was good .the sauce had been reduced so much that it was like super glue (not that I've tried eating super glue) I over heard someone else in the restaurant complaining that the meat was stuck to the plate. The vegetables were very poor and poorly presented for this particular menu. The beans were very underdone not even cooked to al dente and the dauphinoise potatoes the driest I've ever had. For pudding they had run out of what was mentioned on the taster menu so my freind had a melange of whatever was left over. I had the cheeseboard this was nicely presented . Came with olives although unless I was prepared to pick them out with my fingers no cutlery was offered . As far as decor is concerned quite intimate although dated. But the carpet was noticeably sticky underfoot not so good. When it came to the bill no discount was offered and in fact I could hear the chef complaining that I had underpaid by £100 . This was not the case .the waitress collected the credit card to process leaving the cash on the table .I heard her calming him down assuring him the balance was on the table. (Not really a discussion you want to be hearing ) the front of house manager said that they had a problem with the ovens which is why the bread rolls were poor. However a week later freinds visited and were given the same rolls so makes you wonder ? I thought this was a Michelin star recommended restaurant. I might be mistaken 🤔 there are other restaurants near by charging maybe a nominal amount more for a taster menu but so much better and worth the extra. Needless to say I won't be returning. I really think that if they didn't have the provisions in place they should have simply warned us at the beginning and asked us to choose from the al a carte instead. . Also I paid £10 more than the price advertised without explanation.

Torre Abbey

Mentioned on
1 list
Historical place museum
Museums
Torre Abbey, established in 1196, offers a fascinating journey through 800 years of history within its historic building and 7-acre gardens. The site showcases the life of a medieval monastery, its dissolution by Henry VIII, and its transformation into a museum and art gallery. The collection includes over 600 works from the 18th century to the present day, featuring pieces by renowned artists such as Holman Hunt and Burne-Jones.
Hidden gem in Torquay, I was looking up things to do near by our hotel (premier inn on the seafront) and this was basically right next door so decided to visit. Beautiful building with an interesting history and so many interesting art pieces and places to explore. Was pretty reasonably priced to get in, especially considering how much there was to explore. Giftshop was also lovely with some lovely handmade pieces and plants available to buy that they grew on site :)

Good place to spend a couple of hours. Enjoyed the history, the Abbey story , art exhibition and Georgian dining room. Take note of the gates as you enter with the swans on top , you'll learn about these inside. Cafe , toilets and lift on the premises so accessible to all. Oh and beautiful gardens to sit and relax in.
Warren H — Google review
It's a beautiful historic site with plenty to look at. Inside there are several floors with art, antiques and information galore. Outside in the gardens the scenery is stunning, the flowers were colourful and fragrant. I could happily spend the whole day exploring the site. There is lots to look at and explore.

Really lovely experience - the staff were friendly, the curation was interesting and innovative + had a genuine feeling of exploration (as it’s all a bit windy and topsy tervy). Liked the element of having actors on the top floor history section + the moving dinner table characters. Felt really thoughtful - A couple things were out of order but appreciated the space all the same - would definitely go back. Did try to strategically avoid the school group as a bit raucous but don’t begrudge kids learning aha

Hidden gem in Torquay — don’t miss it! Absolutely loved our visit to Torre Abbey! The whole place has such a unique mix of history, art, and odd charm. The poison garden was a total highlight — eerie, fascinating, and full of surprises. You don’t often see that in historic sites. We ended up spending way longer there than expected, reading all the signs and spotting deadly plants! The art gallery upstairs was another treat — a great mix of historic and contemporary pieces, all beautifully displayed. It feels like a proper cultural space, not just an afterthought. Friendly staff, peaceful atmosphere, and lots of quiet corners to explore. Highly recommend if you’re in Torquay and want something that’s not just beaches and fish & chips.

10% of for visitors staying at any of the TLH hotels. Each art piece was perfectly curated and looked stunning. The gardens were delightful even on a grey day. Staff were friendly and helpful. You are more than welcome to use the images. 🙂

Evocative abbey ruins, beautiful gardens, a 17th century mansion filled with art treasures - there was so much of interest to discover here, and it was only five minutes walk from my hotel! I spent about three and a half hours here, but could easily have stayed longer. The staff were friendly and welcoming, especially the young lady in the gift shop who greeted me and explained what there was to see and where to find it. I visited the abbey ruins first; they date from 1196, and have an impressive gateway with detailed stone carvings. There are info boards that let you know which part of the original medieval abbey you're standing in. I loved strolling around the gardens; their well-kept borders were filled with exotic plants and colourful dahlias, and there's a pergola and ample seating. There are a few uneven steps, but it's mostly smooth and level gravel paths. The giant cactuses are well worth a look, and children will love spotting the "wild animals" in the tropical palm house! The museum has four floors with quite a lot of rooms, but there are wheelchair ramps and a lift. Some fine paintings - I especially liked the landscapes - and sculptures displayed in spacious galleries. The exhibition of automatons was fun, and I enjoyed eavesdropping on the dinner conversation in the Regency dining room. But best of all was the 800 year timeline that tells the abbey's eventful story through printed info, artefacts, interactive displays, touchscreens, and dressing up in period clothes. The little café only appeared to be serving drinks and biscuits at the time I visited, but there were some picnic tables in the grounds, and also a nice gift shop. Torre Abbey is well worth a visit, and it's only a short walk from the seafront.

Thoroughly enjoyed coming to this Abbey. If you like your paintings, this is definitely the place to come. Certainly is worth a visit.

Hunt’s Cider is a family business to keep their traditional process of a Devonshire that mean good flavor and high quality cider. I am a super fan of Cider and this testing was one of the best I ever have. High recommend, good value. We bough a pack of Wobbler that is 6% but honestly it was a difficult work choose only one. At soon I am back home I will check their delivery service.

Fantastic guided tour (done it twice now!), great shop at good prices with friendly and helpful staff. Will 100% be back, and can't recommend this cider enough!

Wow what an amazing tour! We had the pleasure of being guided on the tour by Roger Hunt himself, and it was fascinating to hear all of the history, and how passionate he was about it. Excellent value considering how much we tasted! Couldn’t recommend more.
Ellie — Google review
From start to finish Steve gave a brilliant tour. He was very knowledgeable and passionate about the Cider with lots of history and explanations. The tastings were generous and each cider was delicious. Pricing was good for merchandise and cider itself Highly reccomend
Oscar H — Google review
The best decision I’ve made while sober Booked the Hunts Cider Tour on a whim — left wondering if I could add “professional taster” to my CV. Our guide Steve is basically the David Attenborough of cider: passionate, knowledgeable, and very possibly powered by a 6% ABV bloodstream. The tour itself was fascinating, though let’s be honest — we were all counting down to the drinking bit. And wow. Each glass was so good I briefly considered proposing marriage to a pint. By the end, my tasting notes had devolved from “delightfully crisp with floral notes” to “YES. MORE. NOW.” If you like cider, go. If you don’t like cider, go — Steve will fix that. Just maybe don’t schedule anything important afterwards, unless it involves a nap and some chips.
Callum S — Google review
Staying at Broadleigh Farm campsite, I went to the reception on another matter, and was advised (by Liam) to sample the cider from the Hunts shop onsite. After an informative discussion by the man in the shop on the history and production of their cider (whilst sampling the delicious fruits of their labour), I bought 3litres of the sweet-dry “Wobbler” at a modest price and proceeded to ungraciously foot slap the grass back to my caravan. I’ll definitely be taking a few more “samples” home!
Alexander C — Google review
Visited in February and had a very warm welcome. Fantastic cider, came back to Cornwall with 6 litres of Bull walloper…. Can’t wait to go back and try the campsite out and enjoy cider on-site. Bleddy handsome, much better than rattler….
Adrian B — Google review
We were camped at a site just 5 minutes walk away from here and after sampling one of the ciders on sale at the sites pub we decided to join the tour. We hadnt given any thought to the time of year (July) and hadn't realised that the machinery wouldn't be in operation but that didn't really spoil anything. We were given a very informative talk about the history and process by the owners and then it finished with a tasting experience. It only took five minutes to walk there but about 20 to stagger back. We ordered some of the larger packs when we returned home. Thank you for our free Hunts Cider glasses, unfortunately one of them didn't make it back home. 😞

Brixham Fish Restaurant & Takeaway

Restaurant
Brixham Fish Restaurant & Takeaway is a local favorite in Brixham, offering British cuisine with a focus on seafood and fast food. The restaurant is known for its excellent fish, chips, and proper old-fashioned mushy peas. With its convenient location on Fore Street and operating hours until late at night, it's the perfect destination for a satisfying meal or takeaway of fish n' chips.
Loved this place - greeted warmly and had a lovely chat with server and fellow local customer. Food cooked to order, we got a medium cod and mi I cod and 1 cups. More than enough for the two of us. The chips were among the best we e had - the batter was delicious and the cod so yummy. Ate at an outside table - lovely experience.

We had one large and one regular cod and chips. Very nice, the fish was lightly battered. Only downside is the seating isn't very comfy.
Tim O — Google review
We had takeaway and sat outside the restaurant, ordered a large fish to share and it was amazing! Incredibly fresh and nice fish. Chips could need some improvement but not terrible! Would’ve been nice if there was some shade outside, especially on such a hot day

The fish was delicious with crisp thin batter and lovely flaky meat. It was certainly up there with some of the best I've had. The same goes for the chips and peas, these were delicious too and couldn't fault them. I only gave 3 stars for the service as the young girl that served me was quite miserable and not very pleasant when being served. I know this is subjective and it doesn't take away from the fact the food was delicious.

Visited in August, hubby had the special (cod, chips & curry sauce) absolutely delicious freshly cooked fish with superb batter and very tasty chips. I had the mini fish, chips & peas which was also delicious. Would not go anywhere else in Brixham, infact we’re going again tomorrow!

Five dined on Sunday teatime. Excellent juicy fish and home cut chips, both delicious and tasty. Curry sauce was lovely too. Staff were extremely helpful but not over the top, took our order, brought out our food and drinks and checked everything was OK a few minutes later. Would definitely be back.

Really delicious fish and chips, some of the best I've had in ages! We had the fish, chip and mushy pea special which was great value and cooked really well - Crispy batter, really fresh fish and lovely chips. The service was efficient and friendly and our food came out quickly. The view from upstairs was lovely too.

Really great first floor restaurant with comfy booths & fab views out over the harbour. Had the ‘small’ fish, chips & peas (£8.99) which was as much as I could eat for lunch! Superb fresh cod in a gorgeous dry, crispy batter, served with high quality confinements & a wedge of fresh lemon. Brilliant & speedy service too, so overall, an truly excellent experience! Thank you 🙏

Cafe
Located on Oddicombe Beach in Torquay, Three Degrees West offers a stunning Mediterranean-style dining experience with breathtaking views of the waves rolling in just meters away. The venue is surrounded by red cliffs and overlooks the glistening waters of Babbacombe Bay. Guests can indulge in a wide range of dishes including appetizers, tapas, burgers, local seafood, pasta, salads, and sandwiches while enjoying draft and bottled beer, spirits, wines, soft drinks or hot beverages.
The restaurant has fine dining Friday and Saturday evenings, we were made to feel so welcome, drinks by the beach with sunset and superb views as an aperitif. The meal itself was cooked and presented so beautifully, and was very tasty! The staff were so attentive and nothing too much trouble, will definitely booking again when next in Devon, thank you!

We only had a cup of tea and halloumi sticks (which were amazing!) but just wanted to comment on how absolutely lovely the staff were here. The gentleman that served us was so welcoming, making us feel at ease and making a real fuss of our dog and giving her treats. Nothing was too much trouble and he kept checking to make sure everything was good. Such a lovely spot too!

Visited this lovely restaurant for dinner and will definitely be back for more! Situated on Oddicombe beach with a relaxing, chilled vibe, you can enjoy your meal or drinks with a stunning view of the sea and coastline. The team are SO friendly and welcoming and our meal presented beautifully and tasted delicious. An absolute must if you enjoy good food, appreciate fabulous service and want amazing sea views 😍

Absolutely loved it here, The atmosphere is amazing its like being on a tropical island. The staff were very friendly and polite, the service was very quick. I enjoyed having a drink outside and looking out to sea, I also tried a cannoli which was Absolutely amazing. 5 STARS would definitely come again!

Such a beautiful place to have lunch. A lucky find! Great food and good friendly service. Highly recommended.

Had a great lunch in a lovely setting looking over the beach to sea.. perfect! The staff are so friendly and helpful and they make you feel welcome. Now a new favourite of ours and on a hot sunny day it must be amazing!

An absolute gem of a place to visit, fantastic breakfasts.the eggs Benedict are highly recommended. Staff very friendly and always had a treat for the dog but the views make you feel like you are anywhere in the world. If you are in the area then take the walk down the hill or use the furniculor tram.

It's a really nice cafe /bar. You can't fault the quality of the food, or the beautiful location on the beach front at Oddicombe. If I did have one critism, if you are charging nearly four pounds for a coffee, put a little biscuit with it. It's the small touches that can make a difference.

Brasserie at the Bay

Restaurant
Brasserie at the Bay offers faultless dining experience with an exciting menu featuring well-thought-out combinations elegantly plated and dressed. The chef creates intricate dishes full of flavor, making it the best meal in the bay for many. The short tasting menu is reasonably priced and comes with an optional wine flight. From reservation to leaving, everything was impeccable, including beautifully paired wines and exceptional service from the front of house.
Everything and everybody were spot on from start to finish; I rarely ever say that a dining experience was faultless but in this case I’m delighted to say it. The menu read very well, lots of exciting dishes and flavours, but combinations were well thought out and elegantly plated & dressed. This place deserves to be full every night with cooking and service as good as this…. I’d say it matches or beats several 1 star dining experiences I’ve had and it’s half the price !! Go and eat there now before it gets “discovered”. I had the courgette flower, Brixham pollock & rhubarb by the way.

Absolutely divine. The best meal that we've had in the bay for a long time. There is nothing that we disliked, from the moment of making the reservation to leaving. The food could not be faulted in any way, the wine was paired beautifully, the service from front of house was exceptional. All round, a delight. Many thanks.

Gorgeous little find! Food was really very good. Very intimate place for dinner, lovely presentation of food and fantastic staff, very attentive and tried to assist us with an allergy (hence no jus on the lamb pic). Good selection of alcoholic drinks, cocktails and wines. Will be back and so glad I found it.

Goujon and give it a go! From walking in the door to leaving was impeccable. Had the tapas-y lunch menu and was insanely good but also reasonably priced. Head waitress and waiter were welcoming, approachable and attentive. Enjoy this hidden gem before its mega.

Lovely setting but service and food didn’t meet the expectation. We visited here on recommendation that the food was exceptional and it was a lovely restraunt. Initial impressions were good with it being very well presented, having a bespoke independent feel. However, at the main meal which I had lamb and a side of fondant potatoes, I was told that my potatoes were accidentally given to another table which resulted in getting them around 10 mins later when I had pretty much finished my meal and they were too hot to eat! It also appeared that our food was waiting to be served with another table, as a waiter said before your not in a rush are you? Your main is going to be a bit longer than expected, and was then brought out with the other tables as they had a starter. Very well presented and tasty food however not a lot of quantity and the quality of lamb wasn’t great. This was discussed with the waiter when the plates were collected and it was obvious there was a problem with the meat being so red, grissly etc. He informed the chef and money was subsequently knocked off the bill but I was informed that the chef said this has been happening quite a lot with the lamb meat lately! Not what you want to hear. Would I pay another visit to give it a second chance? Ye probably, but with what the restraunt is trying to do and the prices, needs improvement.

We had the most amazing meal on Friday evening at the Brasserie at the Bay. The chef created some very intricate dishes .. full of flavour. We opted for the short tasting menu as our table was booked for 7:30pm we were unable to have the full tasting menu… you have to be there by 7pm for the full tasting menu. The short tasting menu was very reasonably priced at £55 with accompanying optional wine flight at just £25 which again was priced very reasonably. We had set our heart on having scallops to start so the kindly added this in as the second course of the tasting menu. Nothing was too much trouble and all the staff were very friendly and accommodating. There are 14 boutique rooms available for overnight stays ….. we were shown round a couple of those that were vacant. They are fitted out to a very high standard. There is also one dog friendly room in the basement. Well worth a visit !

We had an evening here with friends. Staff were friendly and attentive from the outset. It's a pleasant comfortable room. Our food was good though some of the accoutrements were over seasoned. ( the chicken crumb on the parfait starter and the seaweed crisp on the halibut). Saying that, the rest of the food was good.

Exeter Airport is a refreshing alternative to the hustle and bustle of larger international airports. Travelers appreciate the efficient handling of a large volume of people, making it a joy to arrive and depart from this airport. The recent addition of a NESPRESSO coffee machine has impressed frequent flyers, offering high-quality coffee that stands out among typical airport fare. While some areas are currently closed, the airport's friendly staff and quick security process make for a pleasant experience.
I have no complaints about this airport. After flying from all the London airports, Bristol, and Manchester, Exeter was great. It was small, not too busy, easy to get around, clean, and the executive lounge was nice. Parking was easy, everything was stress free 👍

No shuttle bus from car park. Staff seem to take particular delight in harassing female passengers, comments made about size of makeup bag and told to "get rid of the cheap stuff". My uncle was Chief ATC here in the 1970s, embarrassed to be flying from this anti diluvian airport. Other staff in Duty Free helpful and without actually voicing it, seem embarrassed by the state of the place and how it is run.

Not impressed by my treatment at security when flying from this airport to Edinburgh. Had what I would consider to be an overzealous body search. Not experienced one like it in all my years of flying. No problems going through security at Edinburgh. Yet here I apparently had '"alot of metal on my person" I have a titanium hip replacement which is never a problem elsewhere (scanners need an update?). My jumper was lifted at the back ( being female, there are metal hooks on my bra) I don't know what else she expected to find. Also hand was placed under the waistband of my trousers. I was told this was going to happen but I wasn't happy. Paddles up and down both legs, inside and out. Told to stand against the wall to remove my shoes. They haven't changed the liquid restrictions at this airport as in Glasgow and Edinburgh so I hadn't remembered to put everything in the the small plastic bag and my luggage was rescanned. Part of that was my fault, but maybe it's time to catch up with other airports as regards this. I had a lovely stay in Devon with everyone being helpful and friendly but this left a sour taste.

Car park 4 …… tiny parking spaces if you treasure your car, don’t use this car park No shuttle bus to main airport and it’s a good 10 to 15 minute walk , not fun when you’ve got cases to drag late at night in the rain, especially if you’ve got mobility problems The rose wine that I’ve got was absolutely disgusting. It would’ve made better drain cleaner !!! and no draft Beer or larger I’m still quite baffled about how we got to be rated one of the best in the UK
Veronica T — Google review
Great little airport with very small terminal, so easy to get around. Not great if it’s raining when you return as you often end up outside getting rather wet but otherwise makes travelling abroad from Devon and Cornwall more accessible rather than having to travel to Bristol or Cardiff.
Kerry G — Google review
Like most UK airports Exeter has decided to fleece its visitors drivers with a £5 drop off fee. It's not like there's a rail or decent bus alternative. Being tiny, most people of course arrange to be collected on the road, no one is going to pay £5 to walk 100 metres, so there is chaos on the nearby roads and local business' driveways. There is a free facility further down the road but this isn't properly promoted. Once inside, small is beautiful. The departure lounge is perfect although they could use some more seating at the gate. Arrivals is disastrous. We arrived just after another flight, so that's just two planes offloading and we have to queue outside in the cold and rain for immigration, all very third world. There were three staff operating border control which was a good effort, the infrastructure is just too small. All the staff I encountered were nice and efficient.

Great Airport easy to get to car parks nearby a small and friendly airport

All was fine ,walking from plane to Airport building. Then a 40 min wait, standing in a corridor, to go through passport control. 3 border officials on duty, fine. No where to lean in the corridor and people desperate for the loo !! 15 min wait before the luggage carousel started rolling. All in all tolerable experience. Convenience of flying from/to Exeter far out ways the wait, but it would be even better without !!
