Mifuneyama Rakuen is a stunning Japanese garden located at the foot of Mt. Mifune in Saga prefecture, covering an expansive area of 500,000 square meters. Originally built as a villa for the feudal lord of Takeo area in 1845, it has since become open to the public and is renowned for its picturesque beauty. The garden features a teahouse and statues depicting the 500 disciples of Buddha, creating a serene and culturally rich atmosphere.
Awesome ticketed park to visit during Autumn Leaves Festival. Fall scenery is picturesque and Instagram picture perfect. Like taking a page out of a beautifully painted painting with rich and vibrant colours that entices your eyes & brain. Basically two routes to take one within half hour and another about 40 minutes. The later is much more beautiful with upward slope climb, while it would be quite challenging for elderly and young kids. There are tea house and restaurant location within the park if you fancy it. This is definitely a park to come to to spend 1-2hrs, with history of emperor’s favourite place he visit, wonderful vibrant red, yellow & green mixture that blow your mind away.

There are almost no reviews about the team labs part of this hotel. I’m here to change that. This destination was on my want to go ever since I went to TeamLabs PLANETS in Tokyo. We walked into the hotel and were blown away by the stunning art pieces. We enjoyed delicious complimentary welcome drinks under the lanterns. Then, we began to explore the art pieces in the ruined parts of the hotel. Many don’t understand that the ruined parts of the hotel are not under construction, they are remnants of an old onsen that was operational in the 60s and the 70s. It’s not under construction, it was internationally left to ruin. That’s why the teamlabs art pieces play with that, leaving an interesting vibe, new art pieces interacting with the old ruins. This made for an otherworldly, albeit beautiful vibe, reminiscent of a post apocalyptic kind of feeling. The onsen itself was spectacular. It was absolutely stunning, with fireplace rooms with snacks, multiple hot pools and cold plunge pools, and various steam rooms and saunas. You are missing out if you go. The architecture is Scandinavian inspired, with beautiful, big windows in an open garden. And finally, the teamlabs park itself: we went at night, and the details were stunning. I was transported to another world, where azalea bushes glowed like ocean waves, and where digital koi swam in a giant pond.

Mifuneyama Rakuen, a renowned 500,000-square-meter Japanese garden at the base of Mount Mifune in Takeo, Saga Prefecture, offers stunning seasonal vistas, including vibrant spring blooms and autumn foliage. However, the site’s appeal is tempered by evident maintenance shortcomings, such as unchecked overgrowth of creeping vines on mature trees and other unmanaged vegetation, which detract from its pristine aesthetic. Visitors are advised to plan accordingly, prioritizing peak seasons for optimal enjoyment.
J P — Google review
Pleasant garden grounds, featuring a quaint bit murky pond, plus a grand mountain face overseeing proceedings within the garden below. Team Lab collaboration currently on, but only seems to be at night, and even the day time exhibition in the bathhouse ruins was closed. There’s a significant walk to a sacred tree on the east side, with the forest path being pretty narrow and somewhat insecure in places, all to end in not very much.

I had a great stay! Beware that if you book a room with a private hot spring, there is a chance you'll have to deal with bugs. Staff were really nice. Food was really good. The hot spring is amazing. Also, you can visit both the hot springs and teamlab for free if you're a hotel guest.
Ellen — Google review
We have been there by night. Very beatiful walk through the iluminated garden.

The Teamlabs event here was next level awesome. Hope it comes back!

A beautiful garden full of seasonal flowers. We visited during cherry blossom season, but before full bloom. I felt it really came alive at night with the illuminations. There is also a teamLab exhibition tucked in the hillside that connects with a hotel there. The art is beautiful and worth seeing if you enjoy other similar exhibitions. At first I was shocked that the building seemed so dirty, but it's supposed to be a Ruins exhibition. Also, it's on the smaller side, but I felt the price reflected that. Probably easiest access by car, but there was free parking. I would love to come back and see the azaleas in full bloom, the photos look beautiful.

Japanese inn
Mifuneyama Rakuen Hotel offers refined accommodations with detached private baths, a stunning lobby, and free shuttle service. Guests can enjoy the Chaya Bar at Hagino Ochaya Tea House and explore 6 art exhibits by TeamLabs in the Mifuneyama garden. The hotel provides a unique blend of nature and art, with an onsen as its highlight. The dining experience includes dinner and breakfast, featuring progressively better meals throughout the stay.
Sauna 5/5!! Very fun sauna hotel! We will be back next time for the sauna and onsen, food was really good too! Will check back for the renovated rooms.

Be aware, there are a lot of stairs at this hotel and no elevators. The staff will bring your suitcase to your room after check-in but you will have to bring your suitcase down by yourself. Not an easy feat unless your suitcases are very light. The hotel facilities are quite nice but the front desk service is sadly lacking in ometenashi. The middle aged lady who served us was quite abrupt with her tone and manner when completing the check-in procedure, and seemed very impatient with us when we were selecting our welcome drinks. I don't think it was due to language as I speak Japanese having lived here for 10 years. Perhaps they are understaffed ? Due to the unique layout of the hotel, a lot of explanation is required with regards to access to the park, the Team Lab, and the nearby on site restaurant. However no explanation or map is provided, and we just had to figure things out on our own by asking different staff members, some of whom would give us contradictory directions. We had dinner at the Synergy Restaurant and the breakfast at the hotel, both of which were wonderful. Overall facilities are terrific but a lot of effort is required to understand what the facilities are like and make your way around.

Disclaimer: This is a review for TeamLab's art display, not the Hotel experience. At first, the light reception was pretty. However, the other art exhibit were disappointing. They were hard to locate and overrated. Compare to other TeamLab's art exhibit, this one's underwhelming.
Kinshin I — Google review
Booked the "combo tickets" through the hotel, which was actually just a reservation when we showed up. Price markups when we got there because it didn't include the teamlab outdoors even though my "combo tickets" I thought would cover this. However I was never charged it was incredibly confusing. My brother lost his teamlab voucher and even though we talked extensively with them and they know we bought them, he had to buy another. Best part, they didn't even check the tickets...
Bradley P — Google review
I recently stayed at Mifuneyama Rakuen Hotel in Japan and was extremely disappointed with my experience. The service was the worst I have ever encountered in Japan. The front desk staff were consistently rude and unhelpful, which made our stay very unpleasant. Despite the hotel's reputation, the customer service was severely lacking and did not meet the basic standards expected of a hotel in such a renowned location. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and welcoming stay in Japan.
Katie W — Google review
Review based on Team Lab’s exhibition currently on (as of September 2023). This exhibition seems less mainstream than the normal Team Lab affair, with some particularly eccentric contemporary displays, all mostly located within reception and one of the converted banquet rooms. Annoyingly, the exhibition that was supposed to be in the bath ruins within the gardens was closed, without explanation. All of the forest installations only seem to function at night too, again without explanation before you buy your ticket.
Jason C — Google review
Great escape from the city and for those who like nature and art. The onsen was the highlight for me. Go right when it opens to avoid the crowd and use the stone colored couches they are spongy and comfortable ☺️ Transportation: free shuttle service is available, either email ahead of time or have station info desk call hotel. Food: times are in 24 hour time and arrive on time to respect the staff and to avoid delays in receiving your food Art: the ruins are the old part of the hotel and are open 24/7 for guests so visit after normal hours to have the exhibit to yourself ☺️. Garden: you can access the garden via the main entrance down the hill or go through the back of the hotel via the old ruin exhibit during normal hours.
Kao C — Google review
Highlight was team lab installation in the lobby and private outdoor onsen bath available to be booked at check-in. The public baths were average and public outdoor bath had strong chlorine smell. Both has view of small gardens. We were set up in Rm 101 and suffered stomping corridor noises right next public bath entrance due to noisy floorboards and thin walls. Baths only closed midnight to 6am so we had poor sleep. Annoying, as the room next door was vacant. Food was decent and lots of meal plan options. Lots of tourist groups and some young families. The cons are a pity given a lot of design details were lovely (private outdoor bath, interiors, leafy and Japanese garden views). Also entire hotel is smoking, so rooms will have cigarette smell.

Very cute gardens and museum. If you happen to be visiting Mifuneyama, I think this garden is worth a look as well. There are different flowers for different seasons and lots of places to rest and take in the scenery. At the entrance, one can buy food for the koi pond and see the beautiful koi they keep there.

Takeo Shrine is a Shinto shrine located in Takeo City, Saga prefecture. It was constructed in 735 and is known for its enormous camphor tree that has been estimated to be over 3000 years old. Positioned behind the primary hall of the shrine, this sacred tree is Japan's sixth largest and can be discovered by walking through the bamboo woods. The Takeo Shrine is situated near an all-natural hot spring and provides a glimpse into Japanese tradition despite its small size.
One of the most beautiful shrines I’ve ever seen. Together with the couples trees and in particular the 3000 years old camphor tree, it takes your breath away. I hope I’ll be able to visit again.

분위기가 좋습니다. Takeo Shrine武雄神社) is a historic Shinto shrine located in Takeo, Saga Prefecture, Japan. It is known for its deep connection to the region's history and culture, dating back to its founding over 1,300 years ago. The shrine is dedicated to the deities of war and protection, making it a place where locals and visitors alike come to pray for safety, success in endeavors, and good fortune. One of the most iconic features of Takeo Shrine is the ancient camphor tree (樟, Kusunoki) located within its grounds, believed to be over 3,000 years old. Whether you're interested in history, nature, or spiritual practices, Takeo Shrine offers a rich experience reflective of Japan's deep cultural heritage.

The tree is 3000 years old and very cool !!! The bamboo trees are very huge and tall ! The god here is very famous and highly recommend you to buy their 御首 and salt for protection!

It was a unique shrine and a bit different from the ones I have been to since there is a more than 3,000 year old camphor tree found within the premises. You can visit the tree by going through this path at the back of the shrine and through a mini bamboo forest. This is quite near the Takeo City Library so you might consider visiting that after lingering here for a bit.

Regular shrine. Has a large ancient tree at the back. Not worth going out of your way to visit, but is a nice place to stop and stretch your legs if driving by.
Vanessa — Google review
It is a shrine near Takeo Natural Hot Spring. This is a shrine where you can feel the Japanese tradition even if it is small. There is a god tree that praises the relationship and good relations between the couple. By the way, this is also famous as a power spot. Please stop by and see when you go to the hot spring. Free parking is available.
Merge P — Google review
The Takeo Shrine is very nice and well maintained. We visited in mid April and the flowers were starting to bloom and cherry blossoms were almost all gone. The Giant Camphor behind the Shrine is amazing. You can no longer walk all the way up to the tree, but you can see that there is a small shrine inside the hallowed out portion of the tree. Free parking at the Shrine. Really enjoyed the visit.

(Translated by Google) Sorry to disturb Manpuku-san. Or rather, when I went around wanting to try Saga ramen, there were people popping out of the shops everywhere at this time of year, so I couldn't help but rush into Machi Chuka. But, thank you to those who stood out from the crowd and made me feel weak! Manpuku-san is a real hit! Only Saga number plates are available in the parking lot! I won't post the menu because other people have posted it, but there's a lot of variety 😊 I wanted to go for the lunch menu, but my partner also ordered ramen! That's why I chose the Taiwanese ramen and Chinese bowl set and the soy sauce ramen and fried rice set! The staff is a bit perfunctory, but the most important thing is the taste... it's amazing! The fried rice is the best. When I first took a bite of the Chinese bowl, I was a little hesitant, but when I stirred it properly, the rice's hardness matched perfectly! The ramen is delicious, each dish is delicious! And good value for money. I wonder why there isn't one near my house 😭⭐️ I want to give it a 5, but next time I'll try other dishes and rate them... but seriously, the number of people will increase after I teach them 😩 (Original)

The food is decent not extraordinary like my family expect from a Michelin restaurant. The ambience is nice. Waiter is nice and courteous too, but isn't verse with English at all and had trouble understanding us, thus ordering something we didn't expect. We only notice the order is amissed when the dishes came out, and on further query, the order was misunderstood and it was too late to change the order. I would expect a restaurant of such price point to hire a properly verse person to take orders. Was utterly disappointed. If you are coming and cannot speak basic Japanese, be extra careful when ordering.

I'd heard it was delicious, so I went with high expectations, but it exceeded my expectations and I was pleasantly surprised! The space, tableware, food, drinks, and service were all excellent. The food was carefully prepared, using plenty of ingredients from nearby areas such as Takeo, Karatsu, and Taku, and one menu after another was brought out. The wine selection was unusual, featuring indigenous varieties and nature wines from Spain and Italy, which were not often seen in restaurant lineups, and was not only a great pairing with the food, but also an exciting experience to enjoy. This is a great cafe!l especially for pancakes!! This cafe is located in the Children’s Library!! It’s amazing!! You get in the library and go up to 2nd floor! The atmosphere is very nice and warm! They have various kind of pancakes not only creamy and sweet but also they serve pancakes for meals! The pancakes itself taste well and the toppings are very nice. You can feel very nice here! You can see the library on the ground floor! It’s great to see kids enjoying with books! This is really nice place! But it is getting more famous and popular so looks you need to wait for parking. Enjoy!!

Pancakes were a bit different tasting but I think they are gluten free. Lots of different pancakes to choose from including matcha, berry, eggs benedict. Coffee was good (both american style coffee and lattes etc) and staff are friendly. Prices are reasonable- about 1100 for a pancake and coffee set.

The cafe is in the childrens library. It was a great experience with 3 flavored pancakes and 6 flavored dipping / jams. We really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere where kids were super lively but also extremely well behaved :) one was even playing on the piano!

I came with friends while in Takeo for an onsen, and this place was an absolute delight to find! It's very walkable from the station and easy to access by car. I ordered the Carbonara pancake set and it was pretty filling for a breakfast. There are entree and dessert options, and different types of foods if you don't like pancakes. If you don't speak Japanese, you will need a phone translator since their menu is all in Japanese. Free wifi tho! If you come out here for a day or two, I highly recommend stopping by when it opens!

(Translated by Google) Recommended to order hamburger steak and fried chicken set The air conditioning in the hall is weak and a bit stuffy, but the outdoor dining area is cooler. Went to taste the lunch set (didn't order desserts). It seems that only fried chicken nuggets are cooked on the spot, and the others are heated in seasoning bags. The hamburger steak is quite juicy and delicious, but the curry is ordinary and has no special features. The meat pieces are as small as braised pork and there are very few of them, even less than the seasoning bags sold in supermarkets, not worth ordering.

Day 2

West side of town
For day 2, we recommend exploring the west side side of town. Start the day off with Saga Prefectural Space & Science Museum, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Takeo Onsen. All together, your day would be filled with about 8 hours of non-stop fun.

Museums
The Saga Prefectural Space & Science Museum offers an immersive experience on various topics including dinosaurs, evolution and astronomy. This futuristic space features interactive displays and a planetarium that allows visitors to explore and learn in a fun way. The museum is especially great for children between the ages of 3-10 as there are plenty of activities available. However, the restaurant is not recommended as it can be crowded and the food quality may not be up to par with its price.
Very comprehensive !! We had a good time there the whole afternoon.

This trip with my son and his classmates was truly exceptional! Packed with learning opportunities and thrilling moments, we're already planning our next visit. It's a perfect blend of entertainment and education, providing a solid two hours of family fun.

I had a wonderful time here. Everything is interactive and fun. Worth the admission price and more. The staff here are excellent, helpful, and attentive. Would recommend to anyone passing by to stop by and leave enough time to explore all the floors.

Like this place a lot! It’s the reason we traveled to Takeo during this trip to Kyushu! 🚀🛰🛸🦕🦖 A great place to rekindle the long-lost curiosity I had when I was a kid! 😆 Wonderful illustrations and setups to let young kids explore and experience! (There were lots of school kids on the day we visited the museum)

Great place to spend a day with children (3-10 years old), plenty activities available. The only thing terrible is the restaurant, where we waited for long time to get relatively expensive and mediocre food. If you don’t want to spoil a day, plan a lunch in other place.

Packed with kiddy things to do, that adults will enjoy too It is a sort of science museum with all sorts of buttons to press and things to see, and a few experiences that you are unlikely to find elsewhere such as: a moon walk simulation machine, on springs, a spin yourself nauseous person-sized sit-in gyroscope, and a space shuttle landing computer simulation. There are also exhibitions of local fauna such as poisonous millipedes, or jellyfish depending on the year. The temporary exhibition this year was of cog-wheel powered dolls that laugh or blow each other kisses when you spin a handle. There are lots of Japanese school children that come and go in buses. There are swan themed pedal boats on, and a jogging path around, the lake, that people rarely use, preferring the air-conditioned space-station museum. While my children enjoyed the museum for the third time, I jogged around the lake and went to a local swimming pool to get a shower. It is cheap too at about 500 yen for adults and 100-300 yen for children depending on their age. Our children are happy to be there for three hours on their third visit. If you want to experience the planetarium guide to the galaxy, that nearly doubles the price. We have not tried it. The champon noodles in this Takeo area are great, and is the hot spa.

Library
Museum
Takeo City Library is a popular tourist spot in Takeo City, known for its modern building and unique features. The library underwent a major renovation in 2013 and now houses a Tsutaya bookstore and even a Starbucks, making it stand out from traditional libraries. Visitors have described the space as more akin to a large bookstore rather than a typical public library. It has been recognized as one of the most beautiful libraries globally, featuring an iconic elongated curved bookshelf on the second floor.
The building is magnificent and the interior is comforting. You can order a Starbucks coffee plus cake, and then enjoy yourself in reading. The atmosphere here is warm and quiet, very Japanese style. If you stay in the city for a day or two, you can take a morning walk to here and the nearby shrine, and enjoy a great me-time here.
Chih-ming H — Google review
Strong recommend for those who love to read! This library combines with cafe, the design is new and it is open for public. I really love the children reading area which is located beside this library. The photo spot is good to have an overview of this library.

A key landmark at Takeo. Nice architecture with a main library and a kids library by the side. Night time is even better with lights on. 2nd floor and part of ground floor are library area. They do have cafe (Starbucks) and some books/magazines/souvenirs (Tsutaya) on the ground floor. There are only two spots in the library where you can take photos in order not to disturb others, so pls keep in mind.
Esther C — Google review
Very beautiful library. I visited during spring but the building a bit warm and heated. Worth to stop a few hours on the route to Nagasaki from Fukuoka. There is another cute kid library next door. Can visit nearby shrine.

I’ve never had a library on my to do list on any free weekend but the Takeo library found it’s way on there last month. First off, what really allured me into going there was air conditioning. Yep, if you haven’t spent a summer in Kyushu then you haven’t felt real heat and humidity…seriously worse than the swamps of Florida or the stickiness of Singapore. The kind of heat you just know is disrespecting you on purpose. Anywho, I wanted to do an indoor activity and this was the perfect place to lounge around for hours and look at books I can’t read because they’re in Nihongo, but the pictures were dope. But the library also speaks the universal language of coffee so enjoy some Starbucks, skim through the magazines while your sweaty shirt dries.
Alanglen49 — Google review
In 2013, Takeo City entrusted the operation to Culture Convenience Club (CCC), which operates Japan's largest franchise bookstore, Tsutaya. CCC's operational know-how, introduced in Korea through a book titled "Tsutaya, the Place Where Tastes Are Designed," has permeated Takeo Library. CCC President and CEO Muneaki Masuda is famous for transforming a bookstore that sells books into a comprehensive lifestyle shop that offers books and music and suggests lifestyles. He achieved great success by instilling "sensibility," which is often mentioned among the younger generation, into a bookstore. Like Tsutaya Bookstore, CCC increased the number of open bookshelves in Takeo Library and introduced a bookstore, cafe, etc. The operating hours have been extended from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., and the library is open 365 days a year so that people can use it at any time.
Platinum G — Google review
Shouldn’t say it is a library or book shop, it should be treat as an art space of books. Photo are only allowed in designated area to preserve quite environment for library user. Book shops and Starbucks are mix with the library itself. Fun experience.
Martin C — Google review
Saw this library in the list of most beautiful libraries in the world. I haven’t really been to any and this is the first one. Indeed it was beautiful. I don’t know though if it’s worth it to travel all the way just to see the library and eat/drink Starbucks. Ahaha. But what I did was also go to Takeo Onsen. That way, travelling to Takeo itself becomes a proper trip.

Syokudo and Teishoku restaurant
カイロ堂, located in Takeo Onsen station, offers delicious bento boxes perfect for a train journey or to enjoy at your hotel. The cafe has received recognition for its food quality and has won the eki bento award for three consecutive years. Although the portions are small and prices are on the higher side, visitors praise the taste of their offerings. While there is no English menu available, it's a great spot to relax while waiting for your train.
To find the restaurant, you'll need to enter through a souvenir store or go outside of the station to enter from the front door. Even though the restaurant heated up the lunch box with a microwave, the beef still remained a perfect texture. The steak was still medium rare with pink inside which made me mouth watering with the perfect marble texture. Sparerib slices were also so good. Rice was a little mushy though. Overall, I highly recommend giving the sparerib and steak lunch box a try.

The Saga Beef Steak and Yakiniku Bento from Kairodo (¥2,484) is a luxurious ekiben and a must-try in Takeo-Onsen. Featuring thin slices of A5 Saga Wagyu beef, renowned for its exquisite marbling and tenderness, this bento delivers an unparalleled melt-in-your-mouth experience. The beef is expertly cooked and well-seasoned, offering a rich, sweet, and meaty flavor that lingers with every bite. Accompanying the steak is tender yakiniku beef, which pairs perfectly with the soft, fluffy rice for a harmonious balance of flavors. The attention to detail in both preparation and presentation elevates this bento, making it a standout culinary experience. Though priced on the higher side, the premium quality and unforgettable taste make it worth every yen. The thoughtful packaging ensures the meal remains fresh, adding to its appeal. If you’re visiting Takeo-Onsen, this indulgent treat is one you won’t want to miss!

I was instructed to write my name on the waiting list at the entrance and wait, but there were six empty seats at the counter, so I wondered why I wasn't allowed through. When I looked at them, I saw that they were packing up take-out curry, but they should only have to say a few words to let the customers through. I don't know what the point is in making people wait. (I thought about going to another store.) When I finally got to my seat, I looked and saw a tablet. The clerk said, ``You can order directly or from your tablet.'' Huh? Isn't that the point of a tablet? I had the handmade cutlet curry. Well, the curry is just a regular CoCo Ichi curry, and the quality is the same. The spice powder won't come out unless I ask. (As with other places, the powder cans are stored away. Is this an instruction from headquarters?) I feel like the staff are working hard, but I can't say they put the customers first, and I feel like they're wasting their time. It's probably best to avoid going during lunchtime when there are a lot of customers. It seems that they serve sashimi, skewers, omelet rice, etc. in the evening, so I'll visit in the evening next time. It's a popular restaurant, and the parking lot fills up at mealtimes. Its champon and sara udon noodles are popular during the day, and its seafood dishes are popular at night. When I visited around 11:45 on a weekend, there were only two or three parking spaces left. The champon soup was flavorful, infused with vegetable and seafood stock, and adding the accompanying vinegar gave it a refreshing taste. The staff were friendly, and even with children, they were always there with a smile. The restaurant is clean, even when open during the day or night. I think I'll visit at night next time. (Translated by Google) I was working nearby and was looking for a nearby restaurant when I came across this place. I thought it was just an ordinary ramen shop, but the clean and stylish exterior and the parking lot was fairly full, so I immediately knew it was a popular restaurant. When I entered the restaurant, the chef greeted me politely with a smile. I was immediately shown to a tatami room, and his wife (I think?) was also very polite. I was excited to find out they had live squid, but I couldn't drink because I was at work. I had char siu noodles and a mini pork bowl. The thin noodles had a strong pork bone flavor, but it wasn't too heavy, and I'd say it was light and rich. The pork bowl was also made with pork bone soup, so it was super delicious. Next time I'll bring my family. Theme park
Water & Amusement Parks
Marchen Mura, a whimsical amusement park designed with a fairytale theme, is suitable for children from infants to lower grades of elementary school. Visitors can purchase a ticket that allows them to ride six paid vehicles for 1000 yen and enjoy many free playsets all day long. The park also features areas where parents, grandparents and other visitors can rest and relax. Additionally, there is an animal feeding corner available for visitors' enjoyment.
Underrated find for families with young children! Planned only as a short stop off on the drive from Nagasaki to Fukuoka, we ended up spending a few hours here and wish we could have stayed longer! Soo much for our little ones to explore - from ball pit, to a show, to indoor play areas, to rides and a train! Even though the facilities are quite old, everything was clean and the food was great! So family friendly and well thought out! Highly recommend to check it out for families with little ones!

Uh… it’s… special. It’s a little theme park that got stuck in the past. No renovations or anything since then, but that kind of makes it fun. Fairy tale themed, but I’m not sure what the fairy tale is. Cute for little kids, hot and kind of expensive for adults. The theme song should also be banned. That song was driving me bonkers.

(Translated by Google) I visited on a weekday after the summer holidays. This was my first time visiting, so I don't know how crowded it is on weekends, but it was very quiet and nice (lol). All rides are 300 yen and require a ticket system. I recommend the 1000 yen card, which lets you ride six times! It's also very convenient because you can share one card. The pool requires one ticket or one stamp. Adults don't need a ticket or stamp if they don't use the pool. The pools are separated into two sections, one for children 3 and over and one for children under, so even small children can play safely. Children under 3 years old must wear swim trunks. The pool itself isn't very large, but it's shallow, so it's safe to play in. Float rentals are 100 yen, and beach balls are available for free. Almost all QR codes are accepted at the entrance and the shop! Be careful, though, as the restaurant only accepts cash. I didn't have much cash on me, so I left and went to a nearby 7-Eleven (lol). The restaurant had a wide selection of menu items, including light snacks, summer specials, and dishes featuring Saga beef. There's an air-conditioned rest area right next to the restaurant, where you can enjoy your meal at your leisure. However, since the indoor playground is also in the same building, children's voices can get loud on weekends. There are benches in the rest area, so it looks like you could take a nap (lol). There are also massage chairs. You can also feed the animals. There are three types of food, all 100 yen each, and cash only is accepted here. It was my first time feeding the squirrels 🐿️, and they were so cute. Overall, I think the park is aimed at preschoolers and early elementary school students. There's an original song playing throughout the park, and it's stuck in my head (lol). All in all, you can play all day here. I'd like to come again.

This local amusement park is wonderful. [Admission Fee and Amusement Tickets] Admission is ¥1,200 for adults, with an additional fee for children 3 and over. Annual passes are also available. Amusement rides are available in advance as a ¥300 single-ride ticket, or a ¥1,000 (six-ride) ride passport, which is handed over at the boarding area. There's no expiration date, so the six-ride pass is by far the best value. Lol. You can also use it when entering the pool area. (Ages 3 and up) [Pool] *The pool in R7 was open until September 15th, but just for reference. Children up to two years old could enjoy themselves with just the swim ring fee (¥100). Separate areas for each age group ensure safe play. The covered area protects children from direct sunlight. Toys are provided in the area for children up to two years old. Coin lockers are available for valuables. There were plenty of chairs and tables. There's also a (slightly old) restroom nearby. [Lunch/Break] A large indoor playground and dining area is located a short walk up a steep hill. This is a very comfortable spot during the sweltering summer heat. The snack bar sells curry, udon noodles, potatoes, shaved ice, and more. There's also a microwave. Some people bring their own rice balls and baby food. [Playground] There's a covered area, so it's perfect for rainy or hot days. (Trampolines, tricycles, etc.) It's quite small, but there are animals too. The amusement park rides are probably fun for children up to elementary school age. [Other] You can choose a small toy on your way home from the stamp rally. A safe and secure local amusement park in Saga. It doesn't have the same glitz and glamour as city parks, but it's a fun, compact place to enjoy. ♡ On your way back, be sure to soothe your fatigue with some gelato at the nearby Takenoko Cafe. Niwaki Dam transforms into a breathtaking cherry blossom haven each spring, attracting visitors eager to soak in the beauty of nature. Every year, families flock here with packed lunches to enjoy picnics by the lakeside, where vibrant pink petals create a stunning carpet on the water's surface. Takeo Onsen Romon is a historic site with a 1,300-year-old history and was popular among ancient samurai. The Romon, built in 1914, resembles the Dragon Palace Castle and is designated as an important cultural property. It houses 8 hot springs and serves as a significant gathering place for Takeo Onsen. Visitors can explore local products like onsen-tamago, pudding, cakes, and lemongrass tea while engaging with the friendly locals.
Visited at night during winter. If you want to try other baths, come earlier before 21:00. After that, the Motoyu will be the only bath that will be open. Even with one type of bath open, if you’re visiting Takeo-onsen or Saga, this is a must-feel experience!

The hot spring is very small and is much like an old fashioned shared big hot tub with everyone naked. One hot spring bath costs only ¥500. Towels rental costs extra ¥300. You can stay as late as midnight if you want. Woman and man use separate ponds. One extra benefit is free WiFi. Hence it is a good stop for tourists.

There is a camphor tree that is over 3000 years old. It is still healthy and impressive. It is said to be the 5th largest in the country. I wonder if it is the circumference of the trunk? There is a small shop, toilet, waterwheel, and waterway. You can see rice being polished with a waterwheel, and in season, you can buy rice polished with a waterwheel. There are several scarecrows in the waterway. An old lady (?) scarecrow sitting on a bench with her back to you, and an old man trying to catch fish with a net. The scarecrows are so realistic that I mistake them for humans and get a shock every time (lol). Carp thief! ️ The old man is fishing or holding a net. The scarecrows change their posture from time to time, which is fun every time lol In fact, carp are swimming in the waterway. Both the red carp and the brocaded carp are quite large. Carp food is sold at the shop in the park. I think the kids will be thrilled. Also, I went there for the first time in a while and found a manhole! Zombie Saga. The stone pavement leading up to the temple (stone gate) and the cherry blossoms in full bloom looked like a cherry blossom ceiling. On the way home, I felt the ephemerality of the snowstorm of cherry blossoms falling on the wind. There is a parking lot in front of the temple, but the road is narrow, so please be careful if you are driving a wide car. As you pass through the stone gate, there is a grave, so if you are sightseeing, please take care not to be in the photo when posting it on SNS etc. This is my personal opinion, but when I saw the cherry blossoms at the temple and saw people leaving without expressing their gratitude to the temple, I felt the flow of the times and my own narrow-mindedness, and it made me think that I need to work harder. Champon noodle restaurant
Ide Chanpon is a popular establishment in Takeo City that specializes in champon, a delectable noodle dish prepared with pork, seafood, and vegetables. This renowned venue offers an array of options for those who prefer alternatives to pork meat or tonkotsu, such as oyokodon or tamagodon. It caters to individuals with religious dietary restrictions without compromising on taste.
This place sells Japanese chanpon, they are very famous in Takeo City. For your information, if you don't eat pork meat or tonkotsu, you can try oyokodon or tamagodon. It's safe for you the one with religion-restriction. By the way, this place is nice for eating dinner or lunch with your family, friends, or groups. It's little bit expensive based on menu that you can see from photos I attached. If you are in Takeo, you have to come here.. It's must-place you should have to visit.

We were served quickly and the staff was polite. Would recommend for a quick bite.

This is a review of the Champon in Takeo City, Saga Prefecture. While Champon is often associated with Nagasaki, Saga also offers delicious Champon. The flavor is slightly rich, but it perfectly complements the generous amount of vegetables. With large servings of noodles and extra vegetables, it almost resembles a Jiro-style dish. I often stop by on my way back from the Arita pottery market or when visiting Ureshino Onsen.

On June 3, 2023, I visited an izakaya called Marusou located at the intersection of Prefectural Route 24 (Takeotaku Line). Delicious skewers and meat options. Make sure to have a reservation if you’re in a group. It fills up fast.

(Translated by Google) There are many types of yakitori Delivery speed is also fast! Moreover, it is very delicious. Draft beer is also very large and cheap. Shimeno miso soup was very delicious. The store clerk is also a nice person. The seats were a little small, just the right size for two people, but it was quite tight for three people. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal (Original)

(Translated by Google) Visited for the first time in decades. The service from the young staff was excellent. It was a weekday, but all seats were full except for the counter seats. The cheese omelette is recommended. However, the yakitori itself was terrible... It was all cooked in sauce and was overall soggy. It had that "doppesu" feeling that we say in Saga dialect. Ramen restaurant
博多らーめん味納喜知 伊万里店 is a delightful spot for ramen enthusiasts, offering a unique take on the classic tonkotsu ramen. Despite some initial hesitations based on mixed reviews, many visitors have found their experience to be quite enjoyable. The rich aroma of the broth is enticing, and while some may find it slightly salty, a splash of water can easily balance the flavors.
(Translated by Google) I was nervous when I visited because the reviews weren't good, but it was delicious! It’s been a while since I’ve heard “Smell! It was a tonkotsu ramen that made me think. Personally, I thought it was a little salty, but it's ok if you dilute it a little with water. This time I ordered chashu noodles, and they looked good. ˆˆ It's thin, but there's a lot of it, and it's soft and delicious. Regular ramen costs 580 yen, which seems reasonable and good. There are only counter seats, so I thought it was not suitable for families with children. I felt like it was a place where one or two adults could go and eat quickly. There was nothing particularly bad about customer service, and coronavirus measures were taken well.

This time, I wanted to visit three nearby ramen restaurants, so I invited my senior to eat at the first one, and he decided he couldn't do it right away. Came to the store 2 hours after walking around Imari. Ramen alone isn't enough for me, so I also add my favorite chashu bowl. I like the taste and it's delicious. Both the chashu rice bowl and the sauce are delicious and the best. I was aware that photography was prohibited inside the store, but I mistakenly thought that it was not allowed to take pictures inside the store. The moment I took a picture of ramen, a senior said, ``Photo'' and I realized it was me. It's a shame because everyone has written about delicious ramen and chashu bowls. Maybe it's just the owner's personality, but I also go there based on reviews and photos. I'll give you the rare photos I took before and the photos I took this time. It's delicious. There are many different kinds of ramen, and there are many different ramen shops, and I'm sure there will be some that suit you better than others, and there are customers who like the taste and atmosphere of any restaurant. There is a possibility that you will have to line up as there is only a counter. By the way, I heard that there was a store in Imari as well, so I took a drive there. “Hakata Ramen Aminokichi”! ! I arrived around 2:20pm and there was only one car, which seemed to belong to the store. When I tried to enter the store, there was a sign posted at the entrance prohibiting photography inside. Since I came all the way to Imari, I decided to enter the store! ! I sat down, looked at the menu, and ordered... “Charshu men fried rice set with raw egg topping” “Ajitama Charshu Bowl Set” After a long wait, the ramen arrived! ! Just to be sure, I asked the general if it was possible to take a photo of only the ramen, but he said he was sorry, so I gave up. However, the ramen looks delicious even before you eat it, lol. Even more delicious with the drifting pork bone fragrance, lol The raw egg topping is served on a separate plate! Let's have it right away! ! First, a sip of soup... Wow, delicious! ! The tonkotsu fragrance spreads throughout your mouth, and the deliciousness and just the right amount of saltiness from the tonkotsu are irresistible. The fried rice is flaky and you can season it to your liking! TrattoriYa Mimasaka is a hidden gem that may take a bit of effort to locate, as it’s nestled away from the hustle and bustle of the city. This charming restaurant is perfect for special occasions, so making a reservation in advance is highly recommended. The culinary experience here is nothing short of delightful; each dish not only tastes incredible but also boasts an artistic presentation.
At lunch and dinner, the courses available provide delicious seasonal ingredients sourced from local farmers. It’s a delicious way to try Italian food made from Saga products. Every time I have visited the chefs have prepared creative and inventive dishes at fair prices. From Mimasaka station, the restaurant is a short walk. By car, it’s a quick drive from Takeo or Arita. A reservation is a must. Dietary restrictions can be accommodated as well.

(Translated by Google) My acquaintance introduced me to this delicious restaurant that I had visited before, so I visited this time. The entrance of the shop was a little difficult to understand, but the garden is large and beautiful, and it has a hideaway atmosphere. The owner also talks friendly and talks about the origin of the shop and the secrets of the garden in a funny way. By the way, the dishes I received this time were course meals (6600 yen, tax included), and 8 dishes were provided (with bread and drinks after meals), but all of them have been devised and are also for local production for local consumption. It was very delicious because I was particular about it. In addition, the measures against the new corona infectious disease are well-developed, and it seems that there were other customers, but I was impressed by the fact that they were careful not to be on the same floor. Along with a course meal. So, after listening to the details, I made a reservation for the 2,750 yen course. There is also a wide selection of non-alcoholic drinks. 🎃Local production for local consumption💕 The appetizer, the eye masari gnocchi, had a delicious cheese sauce, and I wished it had bread. It was my first time to try the handmade pasta "Kitalla". Unfortunately, the "penne" my daughter ordered was harder than al dente, but the Saga beef was delicious. The main dish, the sterile pork shank, was very tender and delicious, and the accompanying vegetables were also sweet and delicious❣️ 🍀It's a very cozy restaurant. The smiling faces of the owner and all the staff make you feel so comfortable that you almost forget the time has passed. Although they are particular about using local ingredients, they are all inexpensive and nothing special. Before the meal, the entire course was explained, and each dish was explained lazily and quietly, and again when each dish was served. If the food was really delicious, I'd want to hear the explanation, but I felt disappointed when that wasn't the case and the explanation was long. I'm sorry, but I can't recommend this place at all, considering that you can eat higher quality meat, crab, sashimi, and other delicious dishes at other restaurants for the same price.
