Nyons in 1 day

If you only have 1 day to spend in Nyons, we’ve narrowed down the top places you should check out to get the best experience of your time here.
Nyons is a small Provençal town known for its sun-drenched climate, terraced hillsides, and famous AOP olives and olive oil. Its medieval center, with narrow lanes, arcades, and the 14th-century Romanesque bridge over the Eygues River, offers classic southern French charm on a walkable scale. Weekly markets, nearby lavender fields and vineyards, and easy access to the surrounding Baronnies Provençales hills make it a good base for food, wine, and gentle outdoor activities.
With favorites like Pont Roman, Camping Capfun Le Sagittaire, and Brasserie La Restanque, we’ll make sure you don’t miss out on all the must sees. We even included some of our favorite food spots around the area, like Les Vieux Moulins - Pont Roman - Nyons and Brasserie La Restanque so you can get the best taste of Nyons while you’re here. To see our full list of food recommendations, check out our best restaurants post. If you're traveling on a budget, you can check out our cheap eats post.

The apartment was really nice and clean. Great location. But the staff at the pool let it down. Very rude and abrupt. You can’t go in the pool without budgie smugglers on. What is that about ? Also the bar and restaurant is very expensive.

Public swimming pool
Parc de Loisirs Aquatiques Nyonsoleïado is a delightful aquatic paradise perfect for families seeking fun in the sun. Spanning an impressive 1200 meters of swimming space, this water park features a variety of attractions including thrilling slides, serene lagoons, and playful mini waterfalls. With dedicated areas for younger children equipped with safe slides and splash zones, it ensures that kids under 12 have plenty to enjoy.
A great outdoor swimming pool with slides for families with great views. Highly recommended!
Mustafa — Google review
Big pool by French standards, swimming lanes in the 25m pool only in the morning. Slides that will appeal to smaller kids. Many lifeguards that also check swimming gear and behavior (running, dangerous diving). Still plenty room for dives, splashes, swimming and just plain cooling fun.
Funke E — Google review
Cheap if you go after 530pm though they close the slides at 7pm even though it is meant to be open until 730pm. No showers available as a shortage of water?! Lifeguards are whistle happy. If you want a pool, where you are responsible for your choice of how you go down the sides, head to Germany. Amazing pools and great prices and you don't have to wear speedos.
Dee D — Google review
Great water park for younger children (below are 12). Lots of slides and a larger pool with lanes. Prices are reasonable and on site restaurant is good.
Amy M — Google review
Fantastic place especially for kids, you can take your own picnic which is a bonus. Plenty of lifeguards and clean.

Today, the Tour Randonne stands as a symbol of Nyons’ historical and cultural heritage, offering visitors a glimpse into the town’s medieval past and its enduring religious traditions. Amazing place to visit. You can see nice city view. There is small door inside which the church is there. But it was closed when we went there. Ask someone if you get confused about the path . As you need to walk a bit after parking the car.

We can finally eat in the shade on a terrace that was originally too sunny to stay on! There were reed screens that didn't provide enough protection from the sun and didn't look as good. I'm really delighted, the effect is magnificent, I'm a huge fan 👍 Now we'll see how it looks over time, I hope it ages well 😊 (Original) Je viens d'installer mon voile d'ombrage en fibre de coco sur ma pergola. While across the room, a waiter spilled an entire pitcher of water on a child. The owner simply laughed and said, "It's okay, it's the holidays!" A completely inappropriate and humorous reaction. The prices are shamefully high for what is clearly industrial quality: the salads are obviously prepared in advance and stored in the refrigerators you can see behind the cash register. Les prix sont honteusement élevés pour une qualité clairement industrielle : les salades sont manifestement préparées à l’avance et stockées dans les frigos que l'on peut voir derrière la caisse Pour couronner le tout j'ai eu un mal de ventre abominable ! Don’t miss out on eating here! This is a real local’s spot that we were lucky enough to stumble on driving by Nyons, and it ended up being our favourite restaurant out of everywhere we’ve eaten on our visit to the area. The best service from very friendly and kind staff, really beautiful dishes packed with flavour, and great wines. There were delicious options on the menu for the vegetarians in our group too :)

Nothing to say about the food and drinks, really nice. They have a really good choice of beers, wines and spirits. The waiting time was correct because we arrived among the first (they were only 2 waiters for around 40 people, maybe they souls add one). The terrace was nice but there is no specific view on the city or the river.

What a delightful experience! We dined here as a group of 7. We all agreed it was like having dinner and a show given the ambience and charming staff. One of our group is gluten free and they took great care of explaining options and providing GF alternatives so she could enjoy everything the group enjoyed. We loved all the dishes, but asparagus starter and crème brûlée stand out as favorites. I personally appreciated the numerous local beer options.

Lovely restaurant, friendly staff, great atmosphere, really good food, will definitely make it a regular place to go. One tiny thing was my fish wasn't the warmest, although it was beautifully cooked, mostly because the plates were not warmed....just a small thing but I like my plates warmed, especially with fish which cools quickly. Lovely brunch and coffee spot in Nyons, all vegan and high quality dishes with excellent taste. Very friendly service and a lovely relaxing space. Could not recommend more. They do monthly dinner evenings as well.

Very good coffee. To pay with card you need to spend over 5€.

Beauty vegan cafe in a lovely town! The owner is very friendly and helpful and the food is amazing! All of the staff are lovely too.

Nice place to have a coffee or lunch. Something different, really enjoy the food here. A shame the waitress is so inefficient and unfriendly.

If you’re in Nyons or passing by, this is a MUST stop, don’t miss it! If you truly love coffee and appreciate the quality of it, this is the place. You will find many options, from espresso, milky cappuccino to V60. This place also offers great breakfast from granola bowls, pancakes to little sweets. Also it looked like a legit place for lunch that take into consideration vegetarians and vegans. We stopped here for cappuccino, V60, banana bread, granola and toast. We didn’t want to leave. Also mega kudos to the stuff, very friendly and welcoming!

Very nice lunch. Restaurant offered a menu of one starter, choice of three mains and dessert. Our group tried the starter and all three mains plus the daily juice. Food tasty, fresh, seasonal and attractively presented although not all dishes equally successful. Some selections vegan but cheeses and breads also offered. Service a bit frazzled at the outset. A bit pricey.

This is a very nice place where the quality of food (including how ingredients are sourced) is high. No question about that. For me the 2 little letdowns, are 1. the meals are too low in proteins, it's not a healthy balance of proteins and carbs. Tofu should be used, more legumes, in bigger amount, tempeh, maybe sheep cheese too as an option. We can't just stuff our stomachs with cereals carbs and fibers, we need proteins to produce healthy energy. 2. The service is a BIT too relaxed, for this price we might want a service a bit friendlier with a bit more care, not the vital minimum... Just some thoughts, I don't need an answer especially if it's just to defend yourself, this feedback is for you, it does nothing for me! ✌🏼

If you're looking for a good coffee made with care and quality while enjoying either the village air in the terrace or the nice tunes in the cozy bicycle themed inside, this is the place. They also make good vegan friendly meals for lunch. Highly recommended!
