Ancient Ruins
Historic lighthouse on a Roman archaeological site, with a museum showcasing relics found there.
Very nice view of the sea and land from there. The area is easy to reach by car, but it is quiet, with few people, not a crowded tourist spot (also do not expect much typical touristic shops and restaurants around).
Cristian C — Google review
This historic lighthouse has a small museum underneath, which is free to visit. Entry to the property is on the seaside. Next to the lighthouse is a panoramic terrace with a glass floor, which allows viewing the Roman era ruins.
Beat S — Google review
A beautiful landmark outside city of Torrox.
Bernhard B — Google review
Long beautiful promenade along the beach. Just East of the lighthouse is a separate beach for dogs with shower and drinking fountain. Further east continues a longstreched more "wild" natural beach with a few chiringuitos. West of the lighthouse is a paved promenade with lots of restaurants and cafés. Here the beach have hammocks with parasols for rent. In this direction you can walk along the beach, paved or in the water all the way to El Morche.

This is a beautiful place in torrox, I visited during dusk and it was very pretty, It's a very nice photo spot

Arrived on a nice sunny day to find that it was closed because of a severe weather warning. There was a shower of rain later in the day. What a let down. Beware.
Mick G — Google review
Standard light house. Grounds are locked though so you can't go up it. Other historic stuff dotted around outside.
Ant K — Google review
Small free museum and information regarding partially preserved Roman settlement. Near to cafés and beach. Worth a visit if nearby.

The Christmas market was held on the same area as the usual market. Lots of wonderful stalls, an ice rink and entertainment by local choirs. The surprise was Eliza Handley who has an amazing voice. She belted out Purple Rain, Rolling in the deep, All I want for Christmas and Ave Maria, to name a few of the hour long set.

Very quiet and nice beach! And luckily there is only one place, one beer bar, craft beer bar, the only place in Torrox serving a decent beer, IPA on TAP. I think the name is el bar de Olga. Highly recommended this place for his large variety of beers and homemade food. El bar de Olga is by far the best place in Torrox costa. But you must find it first. Use Google maps

A nice long beach with promenade just off main road. Lots of restaurants & cafes and a few shops. More found in the side streets leading to main road. There is a small children's play area on the prom. Large car park beside the Riu hotel(now changed its name,) giving access to the beach. Various areas renting loungers and shades .
Marie D — Google review
I have to admit that I had never ventured to Torrox Costa beach before I was stunned by the fact of just how nice it is. The beach is just a few miles away from Nerja and it is a long level stretch of sand that goes for miles. It is skirted by a wonderful flat promenade with resturants, cafe bars, children's play areas with just a few feet of the sand. I can't recommend this area highly enough because it is a shining example of how a beach resort should be. It is perfect people with disabilities through to families with young children.
Garry R — Google review
Wonderful family beach, lots of place to hire Hamacas or to put your own umbrellas and chairs, life guards are available in summer seasons only, if you walk down towards Elmorche there is beach area for Dog walking as well as Dogs friendly beach.

Italian restaurant
Pizza Restaurant Calabrisella is highly recommended for its wonderful pizza and professional service. The pizzero, Pino, is known for his friendliness and expertise. The restaurant offers a wide menu of delicious Italian cuisine, with standout dishes like spaghetti, lasagna, and barbeque pizza. Guests praise the friendly staff and lovely beachfront location. Special mention goes to the attentive waitress Elena for her exceptional service.
Situated on the beach front behind two buildings, which doesn't help attract the amount of clientele it deserves.. Great food, the Napoli Pizza we had was amazing. The Sangria was top-notch as well, and we were allowed to put our bikes out the back for peace of mind, and at the end of our meal, we were gifted two shots of limonchello...Lovely..! All in all a great experience, and we would definitely come back when we're in Spain again 😀

We had a DELICIOUS burrata pizza and it was AMAZING! The service was also outstanding - they were very kind to us, and accommodating to my 15 month old by bringing her special treats while we dine! We are always looking for great pizza (family favorite) while visiting Torrox and this restaurant is truly AUTHENTIC since the chef & crew are all from Italia! Honestly best pizza we've had in Spain! We loved it and can't wait to go back to try more! We highly recommend! Thank you Calabrisella!!

Restaurante La Blanca Paloma offers delightful seafood dishes with a stunning ocean view at an affordable price. Their lunch exceeded expectations, providing a satisfying experience. It is advisable to call beforehand to ensure availability of the special dish, Marscada. Note that the correct address is closer to Balcon Mirador del Faro, where all the restaurants are located. The weather was scorching and the customer was in search of a nearby lunch spot. Chiringuito Laguna caught their eye with its appealing menu, wide variety of options, and inviting ambiance. The service provided by the staff was exceptional, displaying helpfulness throughout the experience. The food arrived promptly and boasted an excellent taste. This positive encounter left a lasting impression, prompting a desire to revisit the restaurant in the future.
Nice place to relax and eat, food was nice, the staff however was pretty rude! Actually just 1 of them was rude, he was trying to boss us around.

Very tasty food. We arrived near closing time so not everything was available on the menu. We sat in the open dining area (with roof covering) with gorgeous sea views
Steph S — Google review
5 Stars. Food is super tasty, nice staff and great location. I've been there couple times and always enjoyed it. Definitely a recommendation 👍
Karsten P — Google review
Whilst the food was good, the service was appalling. Four of us dining and three had actually finished their meal before the fourth was delivered. A brief apology was offered. When the bill arrived (with no adjustment) I queried whether this was "normal" service. Suddenly none of the staff spoke English (though they had no trouble speaking it earlier) and weren't interested in any discussion. Very disappointed and won't be returning.

We had a whole grilled seabass on an open fire. Absolitely delicious.
Mervi L — Google review
It's a beautiful setting in the early evening, very good Victoria beer, a little more pricey than most bars on the front, but worth it for the setting and it's decent. We didn't eat so can't comment on the food.
Ray R — Google review
My son and I went here early evening, the place wasn't busy, maybe 2-3 tables. We sat down, waited about 10 minutes, no waiter arrived to take our order despite 2 waiters walking around. It wasn’t until we got up to leave that one waiter was eager to make sure everything was OK, needless to say I didn't give them my business, the next beach front bar about 1 minute away was much more attentive (even though it was busier) and we had a much better experience there.

Restaurant
Lew's is a beloved establishment that has garnered high praise from its patrons. A majority of the diners, including those who had been there previously, highly recommended this place for its exceptional fish and chips. The cod served at Lew's was flawlessly cooked with a light and crispy batter. The mushy peas complemented the dish wonderfully. The portion size of the chips was generous to the point that most customers couldn't finish them all.
Me Madre y Padre booked us in here for my week in Espana. They've eaten here before & said how nice it was. It was a lovely English Sunday Roast & I would happily eat here again. Recommended 👌

We have visited Lews before and been impressed with the service and portions. Today we decided to buy our lunch there for us and our teen daughters to eat on the beach. Much to our dismay, after unwtapping countlless paper wrappings we found the smallest portion of chips we have had in our lives. I ended up not having and giving mine to my daughter's and they were still so hungry afterwards. I can't believe we had to pay 12 euros for 4 portions of "large" chips which were probably the equivalent of one portion if you put them together. 1 portion for 12 euros... So so disappointed and now we'll probably never go again because we just can't accept portions like this. We had even recommended Lews to other people before...

As you meander through the enchanting streets of Frigiliana's Old Town, be sure to stop by La Fuente Vieja, or the Old Fountain. This captivating landmark dates back to 1640 and was commissioned by Don Inigo Manrique de Lara, the first Count of Frigiliana. Originally built to provide fresh drinking water for both villagers and their animals, this historic fountain continues to serve its purpose today.
La Fuente, there are quite a few if you have the time to look for them. it's like looking for the little magical men in Wroclaw, you will find the obvious, never them all..

The fountain has three spouts decorated around it with geometric shapes; The two side spouts have rhombuses while the central one has a square. Above these pipes we can see a coat of arms belonging to the Manrique de Lara house, Íñigo, fifth lord of Frigiliana, being the one who ordered its construction. It is very deteriorated and is part of its charm, but it would not be bad to give it some maintenance since its fate can be fatal. (Original) Fuente situada en una plaza de mismo nombre. Puente De Las Ánimas

4.2
(9)
Historical landmark
Puente De Las Ánimas, also known as the Bridge of Souls, is a double-arch bridge with Roman origins located between Torrox pueblo and Torrox Costa. Constructed using rustic ashlar and local materials, it has a foundation on top of live rock to ensure stability during potential river flooding. The bridge's foundation is believed to be part of the original Roman structure and still retains mechinales for scaffolding.
(Translated by Google) It is said that here, at night, you can hear the crying of the souls in pain that wander through this place. (Original) Se dice que por aquí, por las noches, se escucha el llanto de las almas en pena que deambulan por este lugar

(Translated by Google) It is a double arch bridge. It is built in very rustic ashlar, using local material. It has part of its foundation on top of a live rock, which gives it solidity when it comes to possible river flooding. Its foundation is much older, possibly belonging to the original Roman bridge, and it preserves in these foundations the mechinales intended to have placed scaffolding for the reconstruction of the bridge. It had protective walls or guardrails on both sides, which are now very worn out, almost level with the floor. It is 5 meters high at its highest part and 2.5 meters wide. The distance between the arches is 1.75 m, and their width is 3 meters. The oldest data we have about the bridge dates back to the late 18th and 19th centuries, both in the History of Medina Conde and in Pascual Madoz's dictionary. It is also indicated on a small plan of an 18th century document entitled Historia Inédita de Torrox, located in the Municipal Archive of Málaga.

Playa Playazo is a great place to relax and enjoy the stunning views of Nerja's coastline. There is plenty to do in the nearby city centre, but if you want to get away, then this beach is perfect. With huge sand beaches and some bars and restaurants nearby, there's never been a better time to visit.
Nice beach right off the main road and with easy and free parking. You can park on the gravel road right after the restaurant and enter the beach here or park by the other end of the beach where there is also a staircase. The beach was not too crowded, and consisted of coarse sand. The water drops off to 1 - 1.5m depth pretty quickly but with a nice sandy bottom. There is a shower pole to rinse off but it was not working. There is a life guard on duty during high season.

A really nice small place. Parking is free and a small walk down the clean beach. A restaurant is close by and the water is greenish and clear when we came in. There even was a security for the swimming area

The "dirt" referred to in previous reviews is algae not sewage as some have said, but it doesn't look good I admit. There are boats which come daily to clean up. Great place to sit and chill. The team at this place were fantastic. The food was good even though I got what I was not expecting. So pleased we will be returning to sample their paella that everyone is raving about. The Square is delightful full of character and charm. I feel this cafe bar is a new find.

We come back to this place everytime we go to Torrox Pueblo. We tried several dishes and the food was always great - last time we ordered Magro con tomate & Tortilla de atún, both were delicious and portions were reasonable. I am giving 4 stars due to the cleanliness of the toilet - the interior part of the bar smells very heavily due to the unclean toilet which made me question the hygiene of the place.

La Plaza Restaurant is conveniently located near the center of the Plaza, offering a great spot to dine while keeping an eye on the kids playing by the fountains. The restaurant serves fantastic food with quick service and generous portions at reasonable prices. Antonio, the friendly owner, ensures good quality food in a great setting within the square. Visitors particularly enjoyed special offers like bass fillets with side salad and chips.
We went here for lunch and had the Sea Bass. Delicious food and the owner was friendly and welcoming. We had coffee and drinks. Lovely location and very reasonably priced. Definitely recommend.

We sat down and I was given Pepsi when I asked for Coca cola (which wasn’t a problem but was rather strange). The waiter took an age to then take our order, even though the terrace was more or less empty. I ordered a margarita pizza thinking that it would be prepared there but unfortunately it seemed to be a frozen pizza that was served to me. The pizza base had small, perfectly-spaced holes in the mass and the cheese and tomato was tasteless. To be honest, my partner and I finished the pizza because we were starving, but we wouldn’t recommend going here if there is space next door or in the Italian restaurant opposite.

Lovely location... truly awful food! Ordered mixed tapas to start - chicken nuggets was the most edible offering from the seven to chose from... chicken nuggets!?! I ordered Tapas not a happy meal. It’s a good Italian restaurant - all the food was nice. I guess the pizza is the best about it although the lasagna, seafood spagetti and the burger we all fine too. Service was friendly. The interior is rather basic and lacks the nice views the other restaurants have. Its good for a quick bite.

Lovely pizza probably the best in the town. Service a little slow but hey your on holiday so it doesn't really matter. The price was very reasonable. Highly recommend they even do a delivery service .

Really disappointing. We’ve had takeaways from here before which were good. Tonight we ordered on our way home and we told 30 minutes so we sat and had a drink whilst we waited. We ended up waiting over an hour. We watched a lot of takeaways being collected by their delivery driver so I guess they were busy. By the time the pizza arrived we had decided we might as well stay and eat it in the restaurant. Unfortunately the pizza was really poor. Mine was tasteless (The Andalucia) and my wife’s (a veggie one) was piled high with very limp onion. It’s a shame as our previous experience had been pretty good.

Restaurante El Figon is a hidden gem in Torrox that promises an unforgettable dining experience. Wow! This is definitely one of the best restaurants I've been to in Torrox. They cater for all dietary needs, gluten free, vegan, vegetarians. Wonderful outside garden looks like the garden of Eden 😊very well maintained. Staff are very helpful and welcoming, the owner came to our table to help us with what we can eat due to allergies, she was so patient with us, made us very comfortable. I celebrated my Birthday there and I had such a wonderful time. The food was to die for, full of flavours, presented beautifully. Clean and fresh , toilet s were spotless. Not too expensive was worth every penny. Definitely go again. They also have an inside dinning area which was absolutely beautiful. I'm not sure if it's suitable for wheel chair access I didn't see another entrance as you have to walk down stairs to the restaurant. Thank you so much to all the staff a Birthday I shall always remember 🎉

Ordered the mixed Paella, probably the best Paella I've ever had and I've tried a few! Plenty of seafood and meat in the paella, loads of sauce and not dry at all. Service was pretty good however the price was unbelievable, €11 each for paella of this quality! I've paid 16 to 18 euros for much worse paella elsewhere. Returned a 2nd time for more to be told there was no paella so this was a bit disappointing and chose to eat elsewhere which I regret.

I had my last dinner in Spain here and unfortunately this was a deception. The boquerones fritos were not deep fried, I got some fish bones stuck in my throat. By far the worst boquerones I had (and a had quite a few). I also had red fish, this one was far from tender. The best of this place is the olive oil. Nice little bar in the campo outside Torrox costa just off the main road, but not as cheap as you would think it is from the outside, also they font accept cards cash only and there is not a cash point ATM anywhere nearby which is a problem if you cant read the Spanish sign with very small writing that they only accept cash, problem! Cod and some chips in a restaurant in my village nearby is €8 here in this small cafe it is €11 😱 I think the locals must only eat small tapas, and the foreigners buy the high priced main courses. The food however was delicious. Worth a visit definitely.
