Beaches
Spiaggia di Porto Ottiolu is a charming beach located near the town center and harbor. While it may not be considered one of the top beaches in Sardinia due to its proximity to the harbor, it offers a peaceful and calm atmosphere with crystal clear waters and pearly white sand. Visitors can enjoy snorkeling near the offshore island and appreciate the well-kept harbor area. The beach is also suitable for families with kids, as it features shallow and sandy waters.
White sandy beach and small cove accessible ideal for snorkelling. The marina has restaurants, bars and shops to explore all with a chilled vibe.

Full of seaweed. Having read the reviews I was expecting a nice quiet sandy beach but unfortunately it was thick with seaweed. The water was clear in places, but I think they could try harder to clear up the beach. The beach was not too busy. Parking was good- reasonably priced at 3€ per day and tarmac-ed.

I’m so glad that we walked here today. Lovely atmosphere, weather was amazing. It wasn’t over busy which was nice. The people were really friendly. Would recommend

Great beach area with crystal clear waters and pearly white sand. Within a short walking distance of a small town port with plenty of local amenities.

This beach was near to our apartment. I really found this beach quite peaceful and amazing. It was not full like other commercial beaches and was really calm and quiet. The water is also crystal clear.

Beach
Spiaggia e pineta Salamaghe, also known as Li Salineddi, Lido del Sole, and Sa Capannizza along its route, offers a serene coastal experience. The beach is praised for its clear waters and fine sand, complemented by the shade of pine trees nearby. While some visitors find the parking distance to be a downside, others appreciate the easy access from the resort behind it.
This beach is an absolute gem! It's incredibly tranquil and perfect for a relaxing day by the sea. The cleanliness is top-notch, with well-maintained walkways making it easy to access, even for families with strollers or those who prefer a comfortable walk. Parking is a breeze too – just €3 for the entire day, which is a great deal! It has free toilets and a cafe bar next to it One of the highlights is the dog-friendly section on the other side, where you can see all kinds of dogs having the time of their lives with their owners. It's such a fun and lively vibe watching the pups play around. Whether you're here to relax or just enjoy some dog-watching, this beach has something for everyone. Highly recommend!

A beautiful dune, many plants and trees, we haven’t seen the flamingos 🦩 though the beach was very clean, well organized and calm. Few babies and a few teenagers, mostly adults. A place for the kitesurfing. Very windy.

View from above on the beach is more spectacular than the beach itself. The beach is littered with pebbles in the sand and there is not much to see in the water.
Marcus J — Google review
The beach was not crowded, sea was clear, sand was good. Good to have shade of pine trees nearby. Only negative thing was walking distance from the park place (when you carry all the drinks, seats, umbrella etc, you feel harder:))

Wine bar
La Cambusa, located in the charming Porto Ottiolu, is a delightful Italian deli that offers an authentic taste of Sardinia. This cozy spot features a fantastic selection of local wines, cheeses, and meats, all prepared with care by the owners in their small kitchen. The warm and friendly staff create a welcoming atmosphere where you can enjoy delicious food while listening to vintage records on an original record player. Don't miss out on their weekly degustation during summer or the mouthwatering desserts!
We stumbled across this bar by chance, but it’s more than that. It’s an Italian deli that serves great food and drink, all sourced from Sardinia. The local IPA beer is really punchy and the best we found. The service is warm and friendly and they even have a record player with great selection of records to choose from! We love this place so much and would highly recommend a visit.

We tried a full selection of their food and snacks with wine, meat and cheeses. Really good food, atmosphere and music
Danny L — Google review
Stylish place but very poor service. At 10:30 pm, with the venue half empty, it took 15 minutes to get water. Wine came quickly, but we waited 30 minutes for a cheese plate — only to be served the wrong one. By the time it was corrected, our wine was nearly gone. No apology or discount on the bill. Disappointing experience for such a highly rated spot.

A true landmark. Caterina and Lele share their passion and deep knowledge of Sardinian products, bringing the essence of this land to the table with every dish and every glass. Thank you, Caterina — it’s always a pleasure coming back.

Guests rave about the friendly atmosphere created by the welcoming owners, making you feel like part of their family.
Great food and services, place was very clean and well kept. Friendly family in a beautiful location within the trees overlooking the Sea- Been back a few days running. Highly recommend . Book in advance for dinner as it was busy evening service.

Family run restaurant by the beach. We enjoyed it so much we visited again and again! The food was really good, we had a range from mussel risotto to super fresh seafood platter (big prawns, calamari, tuna, chips) etc Hung out on the beach chairs, very relaxing Super friendly owner! Recommend to visit when in Sardegna 💯

Delicious seafood platter! Right on the beach as well. The only downside was that there were a few wasps around but i guess there is very little the staff can do about that. Definitely will go for the seafood again!

Great quality for price. Service is Ok. On the photo a grilled fishes for 20€. Goo portions. We had many dishes there. For lunch, the salad or pannini (sandwiches) are not the best choice though. Strength is definitely the primi piatti di pasta O riso.

Restaurant
La Tavernetta is a charming seaside eatery that offers a variety of delectable dishes, including seafood, pasta, and pizza. With its panoramic ocean views, this breezy beach hut provides a perfect setting for enjoying rustic cuisine. The Fregola Ai Frutti Di Mare is a generously portioned dish suitable for sharing by two people and boasts an abundance of flavorful seafood.
Just utterly brilliant! Literally dinner on the beach and the food was excellent! We could even order something not on the menu, with the response "no problem".
Sven J — Google review
I had an absolutely terrible experience at this restaurant. We were not greeted or acknowledged when we arrived, which already set a bad tone. We simply wanted to get some ice cream, and even that was a hassle. To make matters worse, as we were leaving, we were insulted by the staff without any apparent reason. We have no idea what we did wrong, but it was completely unacceptable. We were there with two young children, and it seemed like we were not welcome at all. So to conclude, the service was rude and unprofessional, and the whole situation was a huge disappointment. Definitely a big no-go for us. We will not be returning, and we certainly do not recommend this place to anyone looking for a pleasant dining experience. So, thank you, but no thanks. This is not how you treat customers, especially families with children.

We had Fregola Ai Frutti Di Mare which is large enough for 2 people to share. Was really good, loads of seafood. Gi gnocchetti sarda I thought was nice, husband thought he had better at a previous restaurant … the kids had pizzas which were nice. A bit expensive at 91€, perhaps due to the beachside location. Professional presentation and quick service bringing the food. Was a good find in all.

The walk from the car park under the pine trees is quite pleasant specially during the summer. White sand, rougher when compared with other beaches. But equally beautiful with crystal clear water. It's quite long, very good for a walk. Highly recommended.

Budoni’s beach is so cute: it is a very large beach with white ‘rough’ sand. One of the high point I give to Budoni’s beach is because there are many resort beaches and bar where you can stay. Showers are available. Really big park is present and it is cheaper than other local places (3 euro per day). If you feel hot, you can go to the pine forest next to the beach. Transparent and light green/blue water completes this heavenly beach. At Sa Capannizza beach bar you can have really good pizza at lunch time too.

Parcheggio "Sa Capannizza" is a large unpaved parking area close to the beach, offering fair prices. The beach itself is spacious with fine sand and amenities such as kiosks, umbrella rentals, and sunbeds. Additionally, there's a bar-pizzeria that serves wood-fired pizza at reasonable prices. It's suitable for campers but may be slightly noisy due to its proximity to the nearby village.

(Translated by Google) Campers, overnight parking prohibited from 8pm to 8am. The Municipality is ASHAMED!!! The car park is immense, free from signs on the ground, we campers certainly don't dirty or disturb us, we bring all the supplies to the place where we park and we follow the rules. Another NEGATIVE note: the newly built bridge to cross the stream is a ramp that is too sloping and narrow at the top, one vehicle passes at a time, you can't see the other side as you go up, it is dangerous and the camper hits underneath if they don't get up the shock absorbers at the back. You have to get on it like on ferries, from the side, first the right or left wheel then on a flat surface.

Outdoor Activities
Spiaggia di Porto Ainu is a relaxed and family-friendly sandy beach with shallow, transparent waters that offer views of Tavolara Island on clear days. It is popular among windsurfers and kitesurfers, and its calm vibe makes it ideal for families with children. While there are some patches of seaweed and rocky areas, the crystal-clear water and beautiful forest backdrop make it a stunning destination. Although there are no nearby snack bars, parking is convenient.

Lovely beach. If it doesn't rain, the river may dry up and smell a bit. Boat rental. Parking may be difficult. The small fish do bite here, I was bitten 4 times. I swim in open water a lot and was never more than nibbled at. This was actual bites and 2 of them hurt.
Michael B — Google review
A decent beach with a small forest next to it. The problem was that the sewage smelled strongly and there was quite a lot of seaweed floating in the water.
Jovana M — Google review
I walked over to this beach from the nearby beach behind the forest. This one was a decent beach, however with much more dark seaweed compare to other beaches in the area and Ive witnessed swimmers going through 1-3 metres of seaweed to get to the clear water. We visited around the turn of August and September and I was shocked people have stayed on the beach due to overwhelming damp odour coming from the nearby dried lake. About quarter of the beach serves as a port for water sports equipment. And then there is only one restaurant/bar a few minutes walk from the beach Yes it was a quieter beach but I wouldn't have chosen to stay here when there are so many other options nearby. Photos are from the most stood out point of the beach.

We visited this place just one time. It was morning. Terrace quite full. 3 waitress were there- slow, without mood and even rude. Long waiting time. Half order they forget bring you. Customers need search waitress when they want pay. Lot of people came sit there and after long time they were stand up and left. Because nobody don't take care about them. My opinion- team need support at morning or change staff.

(Translated by Google) Pizza by the slice always very good and unique (made like this you can only find it in the spinnaker), well seasoned (no small feat), served on small platters. Obviously the waiting times in the summer extend quite a bit (they also have takeaway) and it can represent a problem but it must be taken into account in the height of the season. The staff are friendly and helpful. The outdoor space is beautiful but the lawn should be looked after more (even the eye wants its part 😬😬😬) (Original) Pizza al taglio sempre molto buona e particolare (fatta così si trova solo allo spinnaker), ben condita (cosa non da poco), servita in piccoli taglieri.

Great informal place on a beautiful beach. We went a few times in the morning in early June and had coffees and pastries. Very good value. Parking was free when we visited in early June. The beach was incredibly quiet. We were usually there from 8-10am with our little one and left before it got too hot (or she got bored!). Would recommend the beach and this bar!

Seafood restaurant
Lu Nibaru is a vibrant beachside eatery that truly captures the essence of coastal dining. With an impressive menu featuring seafood dishes, pizza, and local specialties like fresh pasta and cured meats, it’s a culinary haven for food lovers. The restaurant's Sardinian influence shines through in its commitment to high-quality ingredients and exquisite presentation.
My Sardinian partner and I were truly inspired by the quality of ingredients and the finesse of the delivery. As a Japanese individual familiar with the delicate taste of fresh seafood, I appreciated the local red shrimp crudo with its lovely hints of lime and raspberry—an exquisite balance that paid homage to this beautiful creature. For our primo, we enjoyed a clever potato cream and mussel pasta dish infused with brad orange flavors. Paired with rosé, our lunch was elevated by the high-quality cutlery and glassware, far surpassing the usual beach bar fare. Surrounded by the stunning Sardinian beach, we delighted in a novel culinary experience within a charming atmosphere. Highly recommend!

We had our lunch here after a "busy " morning in the water on the beach. We tried a local specialty Pregola (kind of pasta) Di Fruti di Mare.
Sabinus B — Google review
Very disappointed with this restaurant. We arrived at 3:00 PM and were told only grilled food was available, which we accepted. We weren’t given a menu, and when we tried to get one ourselves, we were not allowed to. We ordered two grilled doradas, two portions of potatoes, two Cokes, and three unfiltered beers for four people. The food was just okay, but the final bill was €151 — which is absolutely not justified for what we got. It felt like they were taking advantage of us for being foreigners. I do not recommend this place.

The server was very helpful and made sure I got a meat that suited my taste. It has a open kitchen. My friend got the chicken and it was made perfectly, almost melted on your tongue. The filet was amazing too. Amazing location!

We arrived at 3:00 PM and were told the kitchen was closed, but that we could order grilled food, which we agreed to. Once seated, no menu was provided. When my mother stood up to get one herself, she was not allowed to take it by the manager or waiter. They offered us grilled gilthead bream (dorada) and cuttlefish, and we ordered two doradas, two portions of grilled potatoes, two Coca-Colas, and three unfiltered beers — all for four people. The food was average at best, both in quality and quantity. When we asked for the bill, it came to €151, which we found extremely overpriced for what we received. It honestly felt like they were taking advantage of us for being foreigners. We won’t be coming back and don’t recommend this place.

Great location on the beach, good quality service even though the restaurant was full. Price are on average in the area in peak season but also good quantity in the dish. Parking spot close to the restaurant. Best dish Spaghetti con le vongole.

Great food for sure, price ok for the location but I would call it "no hello, no goodbye sauna restaurant" service so far the slowest in Sardinia. The fact they don't speak english doesn't really bother us as we have smart phones and google translator. 2 stars for service and 4 for food. Over all 3.
