Park
Nature & Parks
Bois de Vincennes is a sprawling green space in Paris, covering 995 hectares. It was originally a hunting preserve dating back to the 13th century and has since evolved into a beloved city retreat. The park offers biking and hiking trails, lakes, a botanical garden, and a zoo. Visitors can explore attractions such as La Grande Pagode, Parc Floral with its flower gardens and kids' park, and the Vincennes Hippodrome de Paris for horse races.
The lungs of the Paris. This park is very big and perfect for running. It is not just a park, it has a lake in which people can rent boats, there is an amusement park and a zoo, it has everything to make your weekend entertaining but at the same time perfect for your daily run. I highly recommend it.
Giovanni M — Google review
Great place to go for a walk. So chill place without the hustle and bustle of the city, just surrounded by nature. Pavements were in good shape, so even wheelchair/walker users can experience this trail.
Bartłomiej W — Google review
Such a hidden gem in Paris! I really recommend to visit this beatiful and romantic place. You can walk through the garden, or you can rent a boat. (The cost is only 14,5 eur for 2 people, for 1 hour, but have +20 eur with you for the deposit. You will get it back in the end)
Csenge S — Google review
It is really, really recommended to visit the place, a huge, beautiful forest, one of the most amazing places in the Paris area. A large lake that stretches the length of the forest, beautiful and rich vegetation that creates an amazing atmosphere. Fun for running and also just sitting and walking around, !You should definitely come
Tamir C — Google review
This is one of Paris’ most bountiful parks. Bit of a hike from central Paris and totally worth it. Huge woods, dozens of paths, many well maintained. Lots of dog walkers and bird watchers (with the rose ringed parakeet a screechy local delight). Come here with a picnic or come here to get lost, it is an oasis of nature. And grabbing the coulee verte renee dumont from bastile means 2/3 of the way here is in green spaces. Woohoo!
Mike M — Google review
I love bois de Vincennes for long walks in nature close to the city! It also connects Paris to the close suburbs and when the weather is good, crossing from one side to the other an amazing way to way to pass the day!
Evi M — Google review
Amazing! Definitely would recommend taking a bike and having a picnic here ❤️

Nature & Parks
Botanical garden
Nestled within the Bois de Vincennes in the 12th arrondissement, Parc Floral de Paris is a stunning botanical garden that opened in 1969 as part of the Floralies garden festival. Drawing inspiration from the landscaping of Tokyo Olympic Games of 1964, this park boasts approximately 3,000 plant species and features beautiful pavilions and an artificial lake with a mesmerizing fountain. During summer, visitors can enjoy concerts amidst the lush surroundings.
This garden is magnificent just behind the chateau the Vincennes. There is a wide variety of flowers and plants. There are small lakes, playground and activities like zip line for kids, a beutiful library and theater. It's a beautiful picnic spot for a summer days. Entry fee is 2.7 euro.
Arpita G — Google review
A serene and well-maintained park. The beauty of the place is evident from the moment you enter. It's filled with pavilions displaying a variety of plants, allowing you to appreciate nature and its beauty. The park offers opportunities for relaxation and other moments of serenity and peace.
Filippo — Google review
I was a bit underwhelmed by the experience I had here in July. A lot of the plants were trees or leafy greens. Nearly all of the flowers were gone except for those around the lake. There were peacocks walking around the park, which is cool, but I would not go out of my way to call this a botanical garden or hold it to those expectations at this time of year. Still a really nice place to walk around and was impressed by there being a library on site. I’m sure I just chose the wrong time of year
Maddie D — Google review
Incredibly disappointing. The grounds are lovely and perhaps their spring bloom is amazing but in mid-July there aren’t any flowers. The famous dahlia gardens were completely devoid of flowers (or honestly, plants of any height) and they should be in full bloom by now. The “valley of flowers” is just a bunch of low to the ground flowers with no real substance or height. They really need to mix in zinnias or sunflowers or actual dahlias.
Steve J — Google review
This park was great, it had eyeseeing plants, there were cute animals and the day that I went, there were shows and jazz. It was so nice. However the thing I wanted to improve was that the signs of where to go was not to good I spent 2 hours just to find the Treetop. But overall it was great
Joel L — Google review
I know the French pay a lot in taxes but this park feels like a good use of that money. It's gorgeous, well planned, and I appreciate the invitation to lounge and picnic almost anywhere inside. For an entry fee of 2.70, you get to enjoy a proper slice of peace and nature.
Swathi — Google review
Parc Floral de Paris in the Bois de Vincennes is one of the best places in the city to take children. The park combines beautiful green surroundings with some of the most varied playgrounds in Paris. The playgrounds themselves are excellent: from traditional swings, slides, and tunnels for the younger ones, to impressive climbing structures and even a six-meter slide for older kids. There’s also a mini-golf course with holes inspired by Paris landmarks, pedal cars (“Rosalies”), and plenty of space to run around. What makes the park stand out is the mix: children can play safely while parents enjoy the gardens, lakes, and botanical displays. In summer, concerts and family events add even more life to the visit. There are cafés, picnic areas, and good facilities, making it easy to spend a half or full day here. A couple of notes: the larger play structures are best for older children, and the park can get crowded on weekends or holidays.
Natalia K — Google review
Was really impressed by the quality of these gardens. The Parc Floral boasts an amazing variety of plants and flowers, and as a bonsai enthusiast I was amazed to see their beautiful display (with many still in bloom!) Also really loved their butterfly centre. A lovely day trip idea from Paris.

Bistro
I stopped at Les Officiers bistro because I was attracted to the delicious dishes being served to a lady on the terrace. The linguini looked amazing, and I was very hungry. However, I ended up loving the tuna steak with vegetables and the Pay D'OC rose even more. The other dish, although good, didn't impress me as much – particularly the shrimp in comparison to the risotto.
Cute and open fairly early on weekdays compared to other nearby cafes. Excellent combos for breakfast. Coffee is fresh and pastries were fabulous. Would recommend and will return!

It was nice and clean resturent .i was there for a cup of coffee and some snacks as well.the bar was fast server.manager i found him friendly .he told me that the bar is famous DJ ...but overall its good vibes i found .manager ask me why i am taking photo?..

Stopped cause I liked the dish ( the linguini seemed a dream and I was really hungry) that was being served to a lady on the terrace but really loved the tuna steak with the vegetables and the Pay D'OC rose. The other dish was also good but more the risotto than the shrimps. Overall I was glad I stopped and had a warm meal after a whole day walking through Paris.

Very kind and welcoming staff, I had a fresh soft drink a d something to est right away without waiting much. Their restrooms are excellent, too! I advice to everyone.

The poke bowl was okay. The fish and chips was okay, but the piece had small bones in it, which is not the case usually. The food was a bit bland. Also, the waitress asked us a few times if we were done, but there was no need for it. It's not like the place was full, and we were still eating.
Rohit — Google review
Weird and snobby. We arrived at the restaurant to be greeted by a bouncer who sternly told us to wait on the street for the host. The host came up to us, looked us up and down, and immediately told us they were “full” despite the restaurant being quite empty. It would be nice if they just told us they had a dress code (mind you, we were not wearing anything outrageous. We had closed-toed shoes, no flashy logos, etc.) We also addressed the host in French (a language we are fluent in) and he responded to us in English as he noticed by our accent we are not locals. This was quite demeaning. This whole experience left us in a bit of shock. When we walked by the restaurant again after eating elsewhere (~1.5 hours later), there were still many tables available. There are much more genuine places out there that will treat you with respect.
Lauren S — Google review
I am a nonspeaking french person from the USA. I can point to a picture and the food came. It was good. Bathroom downstairs. Hard for an old woman. Great people. They do not speak English. But go and eat anyway. EDITED BECAUSE OF OWNER: I did not mean for anyone to look badly at a restaurant because at the time no one spoke English. That was just to say to Americans like myself don't miss out on good food because we do not speak English. Yes, they will help you with yes and nos if they understand you. But don't expect them to have a conversation in English when we Americans are in their country and we do not speak the language. Some people get scared or worried about trying to interact with people and if you do that in this case you will miss out on having a nice meal. The only thing "I" did not like was the bathroom. I do have issues with the steps. Oh, and the water bottle that is made of glass and the water do you see how clear that is?? I drank all of it. Food good, customer bad for not speaking the language in the country she is visiting.

Bertrand Damaisin, the proprietor of Olympe Sport Café, is a renowned international judoka who achieved notable accolades in his career. The bar offers a welcoming and convivial ambiance with a splendid view of Chateau de Vincennes. Adorned with sports-themed decorations such as medals, prizes, and photographs from Damaisin's professional judo days, this establishment caters to both amateur and professional athletes alike.
As a sport bar this is not the best. I went to watch a Champions League game and they didn't have the sound on. Also they'd messed up my table reservation so I was ready to give them 2 stars. But then I got my food (duck with mushroom sauce) and it was literally the best thing I've had in years!! I have to give them five stars! Plus the guys working there were very nice, eventhough it was a very hectic evening for them.

Day 2

Northeast side of town
For day 2, we recommend exploring the northeast side side of town. Start the day off with Parc des Buttes-Chaumont, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Cité des Sciences et de l'Industrie. All together, your day would be filled with about 7 hours of non-stop fun.

Park
Nature & Parks
Parc des Buttes-Chaumont is a 19th-century park located in the northeastern area of Paris, spanning across the 19th and 20th arrondissements. It was built in a former quarry and features tall trees, a lake, waterfalls, and an old iron railway bridge. The park offers visitors a chance to explore grottos, hillside paths, lakeside circuits, and a temple perched atop the butte.
A wonderful place to unwind and enjoy nature. This park is spacious, clean, and well-maintained, with plenty of green areas, walking trails, and benches. It’s perfect for a morning jog, an afternoon picnic, or just relaxing with a book. The playgrounds are great for kids, and there are shaded spots that provide relief on sunny days. I also appreciated the cleanliness and the presence of trash bins, which helps keep the environment tidy. During weekends, it can get a bit crowded, but overall, The park is suitable for families, fitness enthusiasts, and anyone looking to enjoy some fresh air. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a combination of nature, recreation, and relaxation.
Nusrat U — Google review
I spent my final afternoon in Paris exploring this lovely park in the outer districts. It was a great afternoon and it's a really well laid out city park, with fairly nice perches and views. Unfortunately, the construction and repairs spoiled some of the experience, along with not the best weather. But I am glad I went, it was nice to see another slice of life with families picnicking, runners jogging, and others just meandering to a calmer pace than central Paris.
Saminda W — Google review
My most adorable city park, it’s really huge with abundance of breathtaking views and picnic spots. The lake with the ducks , the waterfalls and kids playgrounds. The only downsides are the ubiquitous joggers, few public toilets and only a few vending stations for water and coffee. The place is very clean and those multi-century trees are just amazing
Anna K — Google review
Parc des Buttes-Chaumont is a truly wonderful and vast park. It is the best place in the heart of Paris to enjoy nature and peace. If you're looking to spend a day away from the city's hustle and bustle, this park is the perfect choice. Suitable for Everyone The best part of this park is that it is suitable for everyone from the young to the old. There are dedicated areas for play and leisure for young children. The spacious pathways are ideal for both walking and general exercise. This is a wonderful place to come with family or friends to relax and spend time together. Natural Beauty This park is a must-visit for nature lovers. The greenery, silence, and picturesque views are truly calming. The beautiful bridge and small water reservoirs (or small waterfalls/lakes) further enhance the park's beauty. Basic Amenities For your convenience, all basic facilities are neatly maintained in the park There are plenty of seats throughout the park for resting.Drinking water facilities and toilet facilities are available. Overall, this is a very peaceful and beautiful place. If you want a unique experience in Paris, you should definitely visit Parc des Buttes-Chaumont!
Kopishankar — Google review
Such a beautiful park, full of laughter, happy vibes, but also peace. It’s a place for a picnic, to kick a ball, or to simply walk and enjoy. The views and beautiful, and the water is peaceful too. Just be careful getting to and from if you are a woman, as some surrounding areas in summer have a lot of drunk men
Dana — Google review
Located more north in Paris, you'll find a serene and residential park that's perfect for joggers, pet owners, hikers... I wanted to escape from the hustle and bustle of central Paris and I knew this park would be peaceful. I loved it, absolutely recommend taking the metro to get here. There is a cliff with a gazebo and the path to it was closed off but from the bottom, you can a fantastic view of it and the lake.
C P — Google review
Buttes Chaumont is a beautiful park where Parisians stroll or train for their next marathon and where birders are on full alert. It's known for its hills, so be prepared for uphills and downhills. Enjoy the lake and the waterfalls too. The Temple of Sybille is beautiful, although it's not accessible right now–you can still see it from many vantage points. Climb to the top to see the Basilica in Montmartre, the modern towers of La Defense, and much more. You'll find lots of cute dogs to enjoy on your stroll, as well as spots to sit for a cup of tea and a snack. And if you are training for a race, this is the place to get your hill runs done!

The Espace Images allows visitors to experiment with a delayed camera and draw 3D images on a computer.
We loved it! The part about space is really interesting. You'll find audio guides in FR, EN, and DE at most of the points. They have a space flight take-off simulation which is not always available (if I understood well) that I tried twice with my younger child. She was impressed with the table simulation where you take care of the space station on Mars. The older kid loved the robotics and the math parts. We stayed for 3 hours and we would stay more if they weren't closing.

We were here with a 20-month-old child and chose the "Baby City" hall - an ideal place for a family holiday. The food is incredibly delicious, the atmosphere is cozy and warm. I would especially like to mention the woman who served us: she was incredibly nice, attentive and created the feeling that we were long-awaited guests. Thanks to this, the visit was very pleasant and homely, I want to come back again!
Маргарита М — Google review
A mix of exciting new and forgotten old The new exhibits are great — modern, engaging, and well thought out. But many of the older ones feel like they were abandoned around 2005: broken elements, non-functional features, and a noticeable lack of staff around to help or explain. That said, the museum is clean, and the staff (when you do come across someone) are friendly and welcoming. With a bit of maintenance and presence, the older sections could shine again.
Christopher V — Google review
I was here for over 3 hours, but still didn’t even get to view all the exhibits. This place is simply phenomenal for anyone interested in maths, science, space exploration, genetics and video games. There are so many interactive exhibits in english, french and Spanish, from a simulation of a journey to europa to performing genetic analysis. The 45 minute planetarium presentation was great, but was delivered in french. Recommend for anyone in the area interested in science and technology.
Arib S — Google review
Worth a trip and well off the tourist trail. Best is being able to walk around inside a 1950s vintage diesel submarine: the Argonaut. Lots of interesting and educational exhibits that switch around every couple of years. You can spend the day and not see everything. Overall has a bit of a 1970s vibe going for it. Planetarium is worth a go (all shows in French with no subtitles). The giant mirrored ball thing in all the photos is an IMAX cinema and is not part of the museum. In the mathematics section they have this interesting round room you can go in and then they start it spinning (not too fast) so you can see what it's like to be in a rotating reference frame. Think of a carousel where they've cleared out all the horses and you get to walk around on the rotating platform. They had a section on dogs and cats (without having any actual dogs and cats) that was entertaining and we did learn things like "cats don't like it when you rearrange the furniture". Recommended if your trip to Paris is not so frantic or if it's not your first time in Paris.
Andrew P — Google review
I have been there for the RISC-V summit 2025. The venue is good and it organizes in the underground floor of the museum. The museum itself is quite interesting since it shows the industrialization of the robots and something scientific.
Chanon — Google review
We were during the weekend. It was a free entry and a lot of exebitions. Amazing. Do not miss.
Avi N — Google review
I was a little bit disappointed. For sure, a submarine is always great to visit, but the planetarium was a total disaster - 1 hour of watching the sky and listening to calm music, unfortunately a waste of time. It could be a good place for older adolescents, but not for young children.

Mandarin restaurant
Ravioli nord est is a cozy and lively eatery that specializes in Chinese ravioli, salads, dumplings, and beer. The restaurant offers a variety of steamed or fried dumplings with meat and vegetarian fillings, along with homemade wrappers. It's a great spot for people-watching while enjoying plentiful chile oil and alcohol. If you're in another neighborhood, you can visit a fast-food-style Chinese restaurant to handpick dim sum at an affordable price.
Very authentic dumpling restaurant - definitely the best dumplings I’ve ever tried. The service is quick and the restaurant is full of regular costumers (so it seems). Make sure to order one of their salades as an appetizer or side dish. We had the tofu salade and it was the perfect dish together with the dumplings.

Cheap, tasty dumplings in Belleville. Service is quick, friendly and no-fuss. Cash payments required for meals under €15, otherwise debit card is accepted. Grilled or steamed dumplings are 6€ for 10 dumplings. The dumplings themselves aren't big so you could definitely eat two plates to be full. I had the pork, chive and prawn dumplings.
