Nestled in the charming town of Halesworth, Oasis Camel Park offers a unique opportunity to interact with camels, making it a standout destination in the UK. This delightful park is not just about camels; visitors can also meet an array of friendly animals including donkeys, alpacas, llamas, and even meerkats and lemurs.
We had a very enjoyable day here and the best bit about it was that we were able to bring our little dog with us. It was just the 2 of us and the dog but if you are bringing children there us so much for them to do. I had cuddles with some adorable bunnies and we all had a ride on the train around the park. You can also buy bags of feed which is enjoyed by all animals there, the marmoset particularly like the corn and the lemurs liked the pellets, where as the goats will eat anything. 😂
M — Google review
The camels didn't look too happy or treated extremely well. Family were friendly, the train was included which was nice, as was the mini golf. They let you take dogs in which is a nice touch if you have a dog. The hand washing stations were stocked with soap and tissue with warm water.
Gareth R — Google review
My first visit today with family for our daughter's 13th birthday. She had been before and chose to come back here to celebrate. I can now see why knowing how she loves to get up close with animals. Think of this as kinda a huge petting zoo with some extra activities thrown in like crazy golf, a great trampoline pad and optional (but highly recommended!) camel rides!! Huge shout out to Georgia who made our day here extra special. She's a real credit to the park and clearly adores working with the many animals.
Ben W — Google review
A wonderful place that's absorbing and very chilled thanks to the staff. The animals looked well cared for and were happy to pad over to say hello/lighten the food bag we'd purchased at reception. Dog friendly except for the pet's barn. Two friendly resident dogs roam the site, alongside hens, their chicks and cockerels.
Jenny P — Google review
Lovely place to visit.... great for a family day out they do loads of things like camel rides train rides petting ad feeding animals at an extra cost but also you can purchase animal food to feed the animals yourselves there's toilet facilities and cafe and gift shop... hand facilities all over to the areas
Lisa G — Google review
Such a lovely family farm! The animals are super well cared for and really friendly. They will come running when they hear the feed bag. There are plenty of handwashing stations, fun activities for kids like camel rides and llama walks, and it is even dog-friendly. My pup loved watching the meerkats and lemur! It is a hidden gem, quiet even on weekends, but it truly deserves more visitors. We will definitely be back and hope this wonderful farm continues to thrive.
K H — Google review
What an amazing day! We live about 45mins away and had never heard of this place before! So we took a chance on a visit and we were not disappointed! From the moment we arrived it was obvious that this is a small family run farm (I mean this is a positive way). It was modest and well looked after. All the staff were friendly, helpful and knew all the animals. There is a nice variety of animals to see (more than some other local farm parks). Lots of them can be fed by hand, which ours girls really enjoyed! Food is only £1 a bag and is sold at the main entrance. Obviously just walking around and seeing and feeding the animals is very enjoyable. But there was a range of other activities to help break the day up a little. Our children accessed everyone of these areas and loved all of them. There are two play parks that cater to a range of ages, a free to use 9 hole crazy golf course (pick up clubs and balls at entrance), a wooden maze, bouncy pillow, go karts and other electric cars (these were coin operated). There was a land train that run twice during the day and pat-a-pet sessions to meet the rabbits and guinea pigs. However, the icing on the cake that we were not expecting was the camel rides and taking an Alpaca for a walk! There was an option to ride a camel for £10 (our girls are small and sat on the same camel so it was £15). These sessions happen twice a day. We went for the morning session and our girls loved it, they were talked through rules first and then put on their camel together. They said it was the most amazing thing and they wish it had never ended! Later in the day, we realised that you could also pay £8 to take an alpaca for a walk! We paid at the reception and were given a safety talk. Our girls walked an alpaca each and it was a fantastic experience! We walked them around for 30 mins before handing them over to a staff member at their enclosure for them to have their tea. The final thing I have to talk about is a staff member called Georgia. We meet Georgia many times throughout our day today. She was friendly and approachable, our kids asked her so many questions (and so did us adults!). From talking about the rabbits, to the alpaca safety talk, to us following her route when feeding the animals. She kept working but explained/answered questions as she went. She is a lovely young woman who Obviously cares a lot about the animals and the farm. She was passionate and knowledgeable. I just want the owners to know that she really made our day today, she is an asset to the farm and because of this, we will be back and we will be booking an animal experience in the future too. Thank you Oasis Camel Park for giving us an amazing day out!
Jo P — Google review
What a tranquil place. Firstly you can see the animals are well looked after. secondly it is so nice to see a family run business for the general public and not out to rip you off. Highly recommend this lovely place.

The Boarding House Halesworth in Suffolk is a versatile establishment offering a restaurant, boutique guesthouse, and B&B. With a focus on providing great service and a friendly atmosphere, it's an ideal spot for various occasions such as lunch, dinner, birthday parties, anniversaries, and breakfast. The restaurant features a cozy atmosphere and offers takeaway options. Visitors praise the excellent selection of dishes including roast dinners with fantastic pork belly and delightful truffles for special occasions.
The perfect way to end our holiday in Suffolk. We received first class service from the young lady who waited our table, the food was exceptional and the chef / owner was extremely friendly, kindly seating us inside when we had booked a table outdoors for our dog on a particularly chilly evening. The butternut soup starter was delicious, velvety smooth and fragrant. The fishcakes were fresh and zingy. The roast chicken & pork belly mains were REALLY tasty…and the ginger sticky toffee pudding left us in the best kind of coma 😜 I wish we lived closer so we could come back often! Don’t miss out on this place.

This was Absolutley disgusting! On arrival we was greeted with overflowing stinky bins with flies, on entering the hallway we was a taken back by the horrible smell in the hallway with a dirty un hovered carpet.. on approaching the stair well we was then seeing dead plant with flies on them. The smell was awful and as you can see by the pictures it got worse, our room was not clean and smelt, we couldn’t open windows as the rotten food in the bins outside was worse. There was poo on the toilet brush but thought no one would want to see that picture. The stairs outside our room were cluttered with rubbish. When I quietly approached the owner his words were you have lots of good points. The price was £270 per night!!!!!!!! I said I’m not happy paying this, his words where I’ll give you a free dinner tonight or a free 1 night stay!!!to which I replied no thanks, I’m going home this morning and live 3 hrs away. He said he will not refund any thing back to me!!!!! And asked me to be kind and not put the pictures up. Also there was no salmon in the morning as he had run out of it!!!! This is the first time I’ve ever had to review anything!!!!!! So disappointing!!!!!!

So glad I took up the recommendation from #fenfarmdairy because this was an exceptional dining experience. Every moorish mouthful was a delicious delight. Tyler's menu is imaginative, innovative and simply stunning (the new passionfruit pavlova is a triumph!) We also stayed over - the bedroom was huge! The super-king bed so comfortable, with lovely linens, stylish and spotlessly clean. A really nice touch is fresh milk in the mini-fridge with a selection of '"proper" teas and coffees plus home-made biscuits...lush! There was so much choice for brunch in the morning just didn't know what to opt for (the Suffolk brekkie of course) - again everything just so delicious, locally sourced and cooked to perfection. A mention also for Tyler himself who is a warm and charming host and an a-maz-ing chef! Thank you for such a wonderful time - we can't wait to come back soon! Lisa, Ashley, Gail and Andrew

Absolutely fantastic, family of 6 visited for dinner. Delicious food, all meals were a work of art. Excellent service from Ell and the head chef Tyler! Certainly recommend, plus the apple crumble was the best ever!

Fantastic restaurant, we had the feather blade of beef and Belly Pork for mains and pear Panna Cotta and lemon curd for dessert. Both were delicious, superbly cooked and beautifully plated. The service was friendly and the ambience was very relaxed, even though we live far away, we plan on returning.

Indian restaurant
Raj Puth is an Indian restaurant located in Halesworth that offers both dine-in and take-out options. It has received high praise from locals and visitors alike for its superb and piping hot food, as well as its unobtrusive friendly service. The restaurant recently underwent a change in ownership, leading to its much-needed reopening. Customers have particularly enjoyed the delicious tamarind chutney served with poppadoms, which perfectly balances sweet, sour, and heat.
Stopped for a takeaway while on holiday. Only had to wait 20 mins and the food was delicious. Will definitely visit again if we're in the area.
Paul H — Google review
Very good food. I would highly recommend. The rose at the end was very sweet. And was good priced. The service was very good and everyone was very friendly.
Charles S — Google review
Not the best Indian although pleasant owners. The food colours of our dishes were very false looking and not authentic as most Indian restaurants. Literal Red tikka masala and Yellow Korma . The side order portions were very small , ie rice and veg. It was a shame, not really worth the price but pleasant atmosphere .
Evc87 C — Google review
Staff were faultless and very attentive. Really lovely people. Food was really tasty, we'd definitely go back
Dee B — Google review
Same name but new ownership brings the much needed re-opening of an Indian in Halesworth. We were delighted to try a new accompaniment for poppadoms - a delicious tamarind chutney with all the right notes of sweet, sour and heat. I could easily have eaten this all to myself, but felt obliged to share! Our food was superb and piping hot with unobtrusive friendly service. We will definitely eat there again, or use the takeaway. Happy to recommend.

Had a take away from here which was delicious! Very friendly, very tasty food and good sized portions. I had the Naga Chilli Chicken which was just the right amount of heat and taste. Very much recommend!

Re-opened a couple of years ago under new management after refurbishment. Food has been excellent and reasonably priced. Plenty of tables and cosy booths. All round a very good experience. An absolute pleasure to have a very good curry house in Halesworth. Have just edited this review as things just get better here. Always a nice welcome and friendly atmosphere. So pleased that this is our local restaurant.

If you're in Halesworth and craving authentic Thai cuisine, look no further than SingTong Neeyom Thai Restaurant. Nestled on London Road, this charming eatery offers a delightful array of dishes crafted by a skilled chef from Thailand. While the prices may be on the higher side, many patrons believe that the quality of food justifies it. The service is provided by an elderly gentleman who strives to create a relaxing atmosphere for diners, even if it can be a bit slow at times.
Really lovely family run Thai. Owners are deservedly proud of their restaurant and cooking. Would recommend! FYI cash only.

We had a takeaway from here tonight. We have been meaning to try it for years and it didn’t disappoint! Very tasty food! No reheated meals and MSG here. If you want tasty, fresh food then this hits the spot! Looking forward to going back for more soon.
David G — Google review
Called in on Saturday evening expecting to have needed a reservation but other than one other occupied table the place was empty. Could have been a bad sign but someone waiting for take-away helped. Cash only so quick trip to Spar needed. We went for a chicken and tofu starters requesting extra spicy which it was, all good. Then a good quality beef dish and green curry with mussels, both fresh and authentic tasting items with a decent coconut rice. We also had deserts, one a warm bananas in coconut milk offering and other 'thai custard' (which doesn't translate to UK custard in the least, more of slice of sweetened omelette) but probably didn't need them, not the highlight of the meal for us anyway. Three Singhas and a bill of £87 felt like the high side for out in the sticks as the main dishes were moderately proportioned.
Tim W — Google review
Had a takeaway from these guys. Superb quality food. You can tell it’s homemade and super fresh. Just the right sized portions and incredibly authentic and tasty. Will be going back!!
Richard S — Google review
Hmmm, after reading previous reviews, we were expecting something special, but it was not to be. Food was average, and heavily overpriced for its lack of quality and taste. Service was shockingly bad with only on waitress on. Bless her, she was doing the job of 2 people. Food took a very long time to come to the tableas we found out that there was only the owner in the kitchen doing all thd cooking, so prepare for a long wait and the restaurate wasn't even that busy. Overall , it was adequate, but again somewhat overpriced. Don't think we'll be making a return visit.
Nitin Z — Google review
Hosts were attentive enough. Food was ok, although my chicken sweet and sour dish was really watery and REALLY bland, and no chilli. Biggest disappointment, the prawn crackers that cost over £5, and were burnt (I have photo proof!) absolutely grim. Didn't send back as I was really hungry. Was cold in the restaurant, no heating on, had to keep my hoodie on just to be warm! Also, be warned, it's cash only, why would this be, hmmm? Each to their own, though, looks like some have had a great time, so good to try for yourself
Andrea J — Google review
What can I say, this restaurant serves really good food. Yes, it can be a little pricey, but I really think it's worth it. Service can be a little slow at times, but the waiter is an elderly gentleman (I think the owner), but he really does try hard to make your dining experience as relaxing as he can. The chef is from Thailand, so the food is authentic, and it's all served very promptly. Don't forget to try out their prawn crackers... They are homemade and a touch spicy! Really good.

Halesworth Golf is a restaurant located in Halesworth, Suffolk, offering a good selection of breakfast and lunch options. The golf club is situated in 190 acres of picturesque countryside and features a modern lounge, bar, and restaurant with breathtaking views of the course.
We had our Christmas work meal at the golf club yesterday after hearing good things about the food. Definitely didn’t disappoint. Everyone enjoyed their meals. The service was great from all the staff. We will be returning for more.
Julie C — Google review
After several decent meals here, the meal we had yesterday disappointed. The roast dinner was covered in a very strong salty gravy which totally ruined the whole meal. Although we were only one of a couple of table inside the restaurant we waited 40 mins for just one course. 4 of us ordered roast beef and it took the waiter almost 10 mins to find a tiny pot of horseradish sauce which he said was all he could find. He didn’t charge for a lime and soda because of this (but that didn’t help the 4 of us who wanted horseradish cos the lime and soda was for the person who ordered fish). We complained about the salty gravy and the waiter said we weren’t the only table who had complained. He said ‘everything had gone wrong today’. 10% was deducted from our bill but I doubt I’d recommend or visit again. Such a shame because the location is lovely.

Fabulous course and experience. The pro shop was very helpful in sorting me out a set of clubs to hire. My son and I played the 9 hole course and had a great round. Enjoyed the driving range, course and club house. Big fans!

Absolute gem of a course. Played the 18 hole course today with my son and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. Beautiful fairways, consistent greens and bunkers. Friendly greeting in the pro-shop matched by the bar staff afterwards. I've paid way more in green fees for an awful lot less. I recommend this course to visitors (like us) without reservation. The kids love this park. We drive over from Beccles for the park and mini dirt track. The kids at the park are all nice and we haven't experienced the antisocial and intimidating behavior we do at some of our more local parks. I think one of the great things is the facilities cover a huge range of ages - from toddlers to teens and even adults. So there are no bored looking kids sitting around.

Halesworth Thoroughfare Car Park is conveniently located near the pedestrianised Thoroughfare, offering a genuine market town shopping experience with its independent shops and a weekly market in the market place. The area is a paradise for food enthusiasts, boasting an array of fresh local produce and excellent dining options. Additionally, the Halesworth Produce Market showcases top-quality regional foods on the second Saturday of each month.
Not a bad car park always busy. Shame the council changed the parking from 1 hour free now only 1/2 hour, which does give time for shopping.
Mick H — Google review
The car park, while functional, fails to transcend the mundane. Its utilitarian design lacks the poetic resonance one finds in architectural marvels. It's a symphony of concrete and steel, devoid of the soul-stirring elegance that defines exceptional parking facilities. Like a forgotten chapter in the urban landscape, it merely exists, devoid of the transformative power to elevate the pedestrian experience.
Andrew T — Google review
Not many disabled spots. Be careful you don’t get blocked in by delivery vans and Lorrie’s, could be a long wait.
Jacqui E — Google review
Used to be a nice Car Park to park in, with free 1/2 parking for the Disabled. Now you have to pay no matter what, and the prices are pricey..... Greed showing it's ugly head again, because with the parking with what it is in Halesworth anyway, makes it even harder to park in town now. The High Street Disabled parking has been temporarily closed since Covid, so now unfortunately I won't be shopping in Halesworth anymore. Which is a shame, because we need to support the Local shops, not further restrict people from accessing them.... 31st Aug 2021.....Update the Thoroughfare is now open again, and disabled parking is now available there again...
Brook U — Google review
It's just a car park. Spaces are smallish and there's quite a few pot holes.
Doug S — Google review
Close carpark to the main Halesworth amenities - Through the kind efforts of the shops and services on the thoroughfare, people can park for up to an hour for free (but make sure you get a ticket for display if you do)

Great venue. Live locally but have never been in before. Went for the Ink Festival which was just awsome. Loved every minute of it. Going to a play there tomorrow evening as it's such a great venue. Lovely cafe too.

An excellent venue for stage productions, films, art exhibitions, etc. I have just attended a brilliant talk by Wendy Holden about Auschwitz and the Holocaust. A good programme of events takes place throughout the year. There is a bar serving soft and alcoholic drinks as well as tea and coffee, and sometimes food during daytime activities.

Guests rave about the delectable menu, which includes standout dishes like the beef brisket sandwich and Katsu curry bowl. The food is deceptively simple yet crafted to high standards, making it perfect for casual lunches or special dinners alike.
After a couple of jobs in Halesworth this morning I found Ancient House and I’m very glad I did. They served me a spectacular beef brisket sandwich and gorgeous tempura prawns. Ancient House has a beautiful setting with original features and pokey rooms. The service was super friendly and happy which is always refreshing attribute. The menu was mouth-wateringly simple. I was told the Katsu curry bowl is a favourite so I will have to return. Thank you

Deceptively simple food, to a surprisingly high standard for the price. We dropped in for unplanned lunch, and were very impressed. Two of is chose three small plates to share, and each was simple, expertly prepared, delicious and healthy. Service was friendly, great coffee, and friendly staff. Will definitely be back for a full dinner!

Quirky café in Halesworth Town centre. Building is a well-preserved ancient building, toilets upstairs from a winding wooden staircase - not to be attempted unless you are active and able - children will need supervision. Spotless well equipped, clean bathroom. Pleasant small outside front tables and large outside area at back. Very pleasant servers.

Recently stayed at The Angel during the Latitude Festival and the amazing team at The Angel made my experience even better. I had a fall a few days before the Festival and considered not going over concerns about mobility and travel, etc - Angela at The Angel was brilliant with great advice and guidance on shuttle bus and how to navigate the Festival with limited mobility and other hints and tips. The room was lovely, clean and v.comfortable and the breakfasts were great. And as noted, the staff make this hotel even better and I wouldn't have gone to the Festival without their help. Thank you!

Chinese takeaway
Chinese restaurant
Happy House is a Chinese restaurant located at 8 Bridge Street, Halesworth IP19 8AB, England. Customers have praised the restaurant for its great food and reasonable prices. The portions are described as enormous and piping hot, with generous amounts of meat and fresh veggies in each dish. Despite some complaints about the service over the phone, many customers have expressed satisfaction with their orders and delivery experiences.
One of the best Chinese shops i’ve ever tasted, i don’t think i would like any other. All the other bad reviews are definitely not true! Orders are always right as i have been going here since i was really really young (i am a young customer, being best friends with the shops owner daughter.) the conditions are very clean and tidy as i have been in the back, as i stated i am the shops owner daughter best friend. The phone calls i’ve heard are always kind and polite, it’s such a shame people lie about the services and quality, RECOMMEND!
Mia K — Google review
Food was disgusting! Order was wrong wanted a pork chow mein got duck instead with loads of fat and skin on which was horrible. Chicken wings get fired way too long so they are dry, prawn ball batter was as hard as a rock. Took the food back, didn’t even get a sorry from the owner. Could’ve been allergic to duck and they probably wouldn’t have even cared. The woman who own it is the worse shop owner I’ve ever seen, so rude it was unbelievable.
Daniel — Google review
Food ready and waiting for us at collection time. Better than warm, but not really hot. Sauces of which there was more than ample, had begun to congeal in containers. We paid cash. Realised later that evening that we'd been given £3.00 less change than we should have received. May have been genuine error but if using Happy House in future we would now be certain to check before leaving.
Frances E — Google review
Absolutely THE best Chinese I have had in a very long time. Enormous portions, piping hot, so hot I burnt my tongue lol, never been known in a Delivered takeaway. Loads of meat and fresh veggies. Generous amount of sauces with the dishes too. It was all so tasty. Lovely delivery driver, very friendly, and an extremely quick delivery. Thank you soo much, look forward to me next one
Val F — Google review
We have tried most of the Chineses around and this is the best one. All the food we've had is brilliant and when we get it with friends or family they say it is the best around also. Keep the food coming!
Samuel A — Google review
When they say it will take 20-25 minutes, don't believe them. They don't start cooking the food until you arrive to collect. We waited for an hour for our food to be cooked. No apology. The food tasted odd too
Dave W — Google review
Why is the woman who owns this so rude over the phone? Just awful. I’ve never known anything like it. I can see from the review responses that she gets a kick out of it too. I feel sorry for her more than anything else. Use Golden House for Chinese in Halesworth! Kind people and better food (and no mistakes, unlike this one) :) Can vouch for them!

Specialty Museums
I have not yet been to the Halesworth Airfield Memorial Museum, but I wanted to mention that it is a remarkable destination for anyone interested in World War II history and aircraft. This museum pays tribute to the contributions made by American airmen who flew out of this base during the war. It offers an opportunity to learn about their experiences through first-hand accounts provided by knowledgeable volunteers. The museum is absolutely fantastic, especially if you have a passion for aviation and wartime history.
My father and I came here to learn about our family’s past and the volunteers’ encyclopedic knowledge, anecdotes and pure passion for keeping the past alive created a wonderful memory for our family. Every item in the museum has a story and the curators know the person, the meaning and impact of each piece.
William G — Google review
Great small but well curated museum. Friendly and knowledgeable volunteer staff. Wheelchair accessible all on ground level. Free entry but donations are gratefully recieved. Highly recommend.
Rod F — Google review
Lovely museum with friendly knowledgeable volunteers.
Christopher L — Google review
A great volunteer led museum. As a result it's compact and doesn't have many major displays with big set pieces. It excels in the personal story of the airmen and staff of the airfield and it was nice to see artefacts being added as aircrew pass away and their personal effects added as memorabilia. The link to World War 2 and the people who served at the station during that time still remains strong. As with the Bungay aviation museum, there's a sad collection of broken bits of aircraft, testament to the age of flying where accidents could happen at any moment, let alone by being "bounced" on finals after a successful mission, as frequently happened over nearby Kessingland. This brings a real human element to the museum, which a lot of museums miss, with the appreciation of the aircrew easily being overshadowed by the equipment itself. You'll (potentially) not spend hours here, but it has some really interesting trinkets and enthusiastic staff abound to assist your visit.
Ian J — Google review
Absolutely wonderful place to visit if you love aircraft and World War history, and it's free, all they ask for is donations to keep them going

Nestled at the top of Halesworth's high street, The Black Dog Deli is a charming little café that offers a delightful escape for lunch or brunch. With both indoor and outdoor seating, it welcomes guests with a warm atmosphere and friendly staff who make you feel right at home. The menu features an array of tempting options, from gooey chocolate brownies to hearty sandwiches like the salt beef & Swiss cheese melt.
Decided to stop here for some lunch while in the area and we were so glad we did! Situated at the top end of Halesworth high street, its a small deli/cafe with indoor and outside seating. You're made to feel very welcome the moment you sit down, and the staff are really friendly and helpful. The food is really good and they offer takeaway too. Inside they have lots of temping breads, pastries and cakes on offer. We decided to try the salt beef & swiss cheese melt, chocolate brownie (very gooey!) and the red berry, banana and pressed apple smoothie. The deli is dog friendly and public payable parking is within walking distance. They are open Mondays to Saturdays from 8am to 4pm. I would recommend stopping here if you're in the area!
Kirsty G — Google review
Visited for breakfast/brunch. Had a nice latte and sourdough bacon sandwich and a tea and croissant French toast. They were all very lovely, the bread had almost caramelised with the butter and bacon and was light as air. The sandwich was a proper doorstop size. The French toast was lovely with yogurt and compote. We also got some takeaway items which were delightful. Often you go to cafes etc and it can be disappointing but we tried a good X section and the food was consistently good. Service was friendly and very efficient - you can tell staff are trained well and happy to be there. The mark down is due to the fact the sandwich definitely could have had more bacon for the price and likewise the latte could have been bigger.
Kate W — Google review
Our lunch was OK at The Black Dog. We were lucky to be able to get food at 13:50, they stop making lunch at 14:00. I had a hummus bowl with toasted sourdough, the hummus was excellent. I love olives and sumac but it was very very salty and personally i would’ve liked more rocket. My husband struggled to find a sandwich to eat, he’s not a fan of Brie styled cheese or sauces/dressing so he ordered a bacon sandwich. Sadly they didn’t have any bread left so he had to have a bagel. The bagel was freshly baked but arrived with an unhealthy amount of streaky bacon, which he was happy with. We did feel the soft drinks at £2.90, served in a warm glass with ice were over priced.

We went to the main one in Halesworth which was amazing if a little hectic mid morning and they were running out of things that were popular . Coffee a little strong . The Queen's Head, located in Bramfield, is a charming gastropub that exudes warmth and comfort. Its interior features a tall brick fireplace, wooden ceiling beams, pine tables, and even a beer garden. From the outside, it presents itself as a quintessential Suffolk pub with whitewashed walls and a thatched roof. However, what sets it apart is its innovative menu. The skilled chefs here create delectable dishes using locally sourced ingredients or produce from their own kitchen garden.
Popped in today for a few beers and to sit in the immaculate beer garden having been past on many occasions. Friendly polite staff, lovely clean well kept pub and a cozy looked after beer garden. I didn't have any food but if you could rate smells coming from the kitchen I'd give it a 10. Well worth a visit especially in the sunshine and I'll definitely be back.

I’m really fussy with my roast dinners so it needs to be spot on and the roast beef didn’t disappoint ! Tender meat, homemade roasties and Yorkshire pudding, and lovely veg! Service great, staff lovely, and accommodated our 4 dogs .. well done to the chef and team .. gorgeous roast thank you !

Utterly delicious food. The salmon fillet from the specials board was cooked for precisely the right amount of time, not over or under done and moist, well paired with veg too. The sticky toffee pudding was decadent, a real joy. Very friendly staff and dog friendly too.

Very disappointing. The beef was very rare, difficult to cut and tasteless. I had asked for more vegetables instead of a Yorkshire pudding and the waitress agreed to this. When my food came I thought the vegetables would follow separately as i had less then my sister who had the regular amount. This didn't happen, the'extra' veg were on my plate. Barely a tablespoon of stringy cabbage and four green beans and a whole carrot. The meal was 21 pounds, which is enough for a lovely roast let alone this mediocre roast. I mentioned my thoughts and ten percent was taken off. What a shame, the place looks lovely and the staff were friendly... Perhaps they need a new chef!

Really enjoyable meal. Casual dining in the bar area. Service was very good with attentive and friendly staff. Menu was varied with a good selection of specials. The lasagna on the Specials board was made with a proper slow cooked Ragu. Desserts were home made and the crumble was especially good. We will return
