Mines
Geevor Tin Mine Museum, located near Penzance, offers a fascinating journey into Cornwall's mining history. This former 18th-century tin mine has been transformed into a museum where visitors can explore underground tunnels and learn about the harsh conditions miners faced. Led by ex-miners, the hard hat tours provide firsthand accounts of the mining experience. The museum also features original machinery and dressing floors above ground, providing insight into the sorting process for minerals and ores.
Great place to experience the heritage of Cornish mining. A large tin mine closed by the collapse of tin prices in the 1980s. Preserved as a community venture. Some of the guides actually worked as miners in the mine. Many hours of interesting investigation including the chance to visit the 18 century underground working of the Mexico mine. Good cafe & shop. Plenty of parking miles of beautiful coastal walks. Highly recommended.

We had a fantastic day out at Geevor Tin Mine Museum today! From the moment we arrived, we were struck by how welcoming and well laid out everything is. The museum is packed full of fascinating history, telling the story of Cornwall’s mining heritage in a way that’s both engaging and easy to follow. The highlight for us was the underground tour – stepping into the old tunnels really brought the past to life, and our guide was brilliant at explaining what life would have been like for the miners who worked there. It was atmospheric, eye-opening, and something you don’t often get the chance to experience. The site itself is huge, with so much to see and explore. The exhibitions are really well presented, the machinery and preserved buildings give you a real sense of the scale of mining, and there are plenty of hands-on displays that make it great for all ages. The views out across the Cornish coastline from the site are absolutely stunning too – a bonus on top of the museum experience! All of the staff and volunteers we met were friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about keeping the history of the mine alive. It made the visit even more special. Overall, Geevor Tin Mine is a must-visit if you’re in Cornwall. It’s educational, immersive, and thoroughly enjoyable – a brilliant day out for adults and children alike. Highly recommended!

Not sure if "The Dry" or the main mill building is my favourite part here. The scape of it is just mind blowing, and the fact that they are restoring some of the original equipment to run and demo is great and makes it all make more sense. Ticket allows entry for a year and can be gift aided. Children can go underground through the mine tour if they are able to walk and wear a hard hat - you can't carry children underground, which makes complete sense when you get in there. Volunteers are friendly and knowledgeable and the cafe serves lovely food, though slow at busy times.
Kev G — Google review
Really brilliant museum, with so much of the plant preserved and more or less as it was. Great balance between having enough information to read but then also as you are in the actual place, just seeing all the machinery and the places where people worked. The scale of the place is incredible. Good to visit on a sunny day as well as a rainy day. Good value, given how much there is to see and actually getting to go underground into a mine.
Tom R — Google review
Absolutely loved Geevor tin mine, a piece of history, literally frozen in time. Visted on a Tuesday in October. Dog friendly, nearly everywhere on site which is great. Staff very friendy, approachable and knowledgeable. You can take as little, or as much as you want from the mine. Tells the story of how mining begun in cornwall and how sadly it ended. Loved the history that you can literally smell in this place. The highlight for me was the drying room, close your eyes and you can imagine the noise the laughs, and banter, at the beginning, and end of each shift. And then as you walk around realise that the place is pretty much as it was on the day the mine sadly closed, and the people that worked their lost there jobs. Well worth the effort of visiting.
D B — Google review
Great place to learn about the more recent history of cornish tin mining. Quote emotional when you visit the dry and see the faces of all who worked there. Great day out for all the family, you coukd spend 2 hours there but equally, if like us, you could spend 4 plus hours. If the weathers nice, it's a great place to visit the mine, have food in the cafe and take a walk to see the breathtaking views of cornish mining history.
Neil T — Google review
Absolutely brilliant day out. I'm not exaggerating, you will spend the entire day here. So much to see, do, explore and learn. The kids will definitely NOT get bored!! Speaking to some of the original miners who worked here was incredibly eye opening and emotional. We highly recommend this place when visiting the area!! Great views, great (well priced) cafe, great gift shop and wonderful staff. This place deserves 10 stars!!
Joseph S — Google review
We walked along the coastal path and saw the mine ruins, didn't do the tour underground. The cafe has a magnificent view over the sea and serves some excellent food including fantastic and huge ham and eggs which we filled with a cornish cream tea, all good and very reasonably priced.

Mines
The Count House, Botallack Mine, located between St. Just in Penwith and Pendeen village, is a captivating site that offers a glimpse into Cornwall's industrial heritage. This former tin mining area is now a popular attraction, especially after its appearance in the TV series 'Poldark.' Visitors can take a leisurely 1.
Absolutely brilliant. Full of history. Little bit scary. Close to the edge but stunning views and well worth the walk and there's a beautiful calf there so you can get a cup of tea afterwards
Caz S — Google review
There is a car park very close to this site, unfortunately the toilet is only available while the cafe is open. You can stroll around freely the whole mining site, the views are stunning from the top of the cliffs. There are several ruins of buildings you can explore, the chimney, the arzenic mine tunnels, the old boiler houses and many more. You can spend half a day easily just by exploring the site of this old mine. You can get information at the cafe, where there is a member of the National trust who is happy to answer any questions.
Andrea U — Google review
Beautiful and exciting for children to explore while you go for a little walk. Breathtaking views over the sea. Free to visit! Lots of parking- was easy to find a space in the Peak of the summer holidays. National trust - with cafe and toilets. Downside is there's no information plaques. Some people had hired guides to take them around but I assume you would need to do this before hand.
Alice I — Google review
Beautiful location, but make sure you have appropriate footwear to explore the uneven paths (and stick to the paths!) Café closure time was published as 16:30 - we had hot drinks, but the cakes were being put away as we entered at 15:45 and the doors were closed by 16:15.
Rhodri E — Google review
Great place to explore. Dramatic cliffs. Wonderful hiking. Even on a blustery day, we loved it. Cafe had really good pastries.
Steve O — Google review
Lovely location, out of the way but great views. I took the national trust tour talking about the mines and the men women and children who worked in them. It was free and very informative! It's on most days at 2pm. Just ask a member of staff. The count house does hot and cold drinks, cakes and sells local biscuits. There's toilets and a small art exhibit along with some information about the mines. It's got a carpark too, if you plan to stay for over 2 hours it's £6.50 for the whole day.
Ruth M — Google review
Very interesting place to walk around and explore the area. Tin Mining heritage is all around the area. You can explore the national trust cafe and also see the map of the submarine mine. Go and loomat the Engine houses sitting just at the waterline

Cape Cornwall, located just 4 miles north of Lands End, offers dramatic ocean and coastline views, making it a popular spot for walking. Unlike the more touristy Lands End, Cape Cornwall provides wild and well-protected coastal scenery. Managed by the National Trust, this area is easily accessible from St Just and features old mine shafts along the coast in places like Kenidjack Valley and Wheal Owles.
It's a hour long walk through the fields, over the windy cliffs, into the woods and by the stream before you reach the rocky cape Cornwall! But the sight is worth the effort!
Rohan D — Google review
Car park free for National trust members. Great access to the Coast Path. Great vistas.
Steve C — Google review
Visiting Cape Cornwall was one of the highlights of my trip. The views are absolutely breathtaking , endless ocean, dramatic cliffs, and a feeling that you’re standing on the very edge of England. I could have stayed there for hours just watching the waves crash against the rocks and listening to the soothing sound of the sea. The old mining chimney adds a unique touch of history to the landscape, but really it’s the views and the peaceful atmosphere that make this place unforgettable. Raw, stunning, and calming a spot I’ll never forget.

Such a beautiful place to visit with amazing views! I would especially recommend a visit at sunset, it's incredible. The car park is a short walk away (national trust so free for members) and has a cafe and toilets. The walk to the top itself can be a bit steep though so just be aware but I would say it's manageable for the average person.

Nestled in the quaint village of Botallack, The Queen's Arms is a charming stone-walled tavern that perfectly captures the essence of British hospitality. With its informal bar and menu that highlights local seasonal produce, this delightful spot offers a taste of Cornwall’s culinary treasures. Just a short stroll from breathtaking Cornish Mining Heritage sites like West Wheal Owles, it’s an ideal pit stop after exploring the stunning coastline.
A great pub with really good food, albeit overly-generous portions. There's a good range of local beers and even cocktails. There's plenty of seating and a lovely garden at the back, although as always best to book off you want a table. We walked there partly along the cliffs from Cape Cornwall, with stunning views on our return.

We visited the Queens a few times on our holiday in St Just. Once we had a meal....the steak meal was perfect, but I'm including mushrooms would have made it even better! Lovely pub, and nice ambiance. Staff were very attentive and we had a chat with Gareth, the owner/chef who was lovely. Wishing Gareth and the staff all the best!

A wonderful little pub. Family friendly. Great food options (inc Vegan and kids). There are board games for sit down fun times and even kids colouring in. The service was great and the food was very tasty, promptly served and well priced. I'd advise you book in advance during holiday season!

Great food, very nice people. We had some extra's, so it was a bit more expensive thans needed for a normal diner.

A well supported pub by the local population and very welcoming to those visiting the area including large groups. Great selection of beers. Food is fantastic! Ate there three times and can very much recommend the Pork Belly, Fish and Chips and Beef Roast. The staff are super friendly. Will most definitely visit again if in the area.

Sunday lunch, here today. We had the roast chicken and belly pork. Both were cooked to perfection. A wide selection of vegetables, plus roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding,as well as delicious gravy. Superb service. Can highly recommend. Many thanks

Great service, excellent staff and really good food. It was busy here but the staff were attentive and the service very good. They were honest about a little wait for the food due to it being a sunny bank holiday it it wasn’t that long and it was worth the wait. Nice garden at the back of the pub which is a little sun trap. Definitely recommend this place
G C — Google review
Christ, this place is good. Attentive waitress. Good beer and drinks at decent prices. 5 meals, 3 adults two children and 2 different starters. All served piping hot, cooked fresh. Not even joking, probably the best chips I have eaten in my life, got to be triple cooked and cooked in magic. There is a good couple of pubs we ate at in nearby St Just when on holiday here and they were both decent in their own rate, at near enough same price point but this is quite literally 2-3 times better. 10/10 would eat and drink again

Cafe
While staying in St just for a wedding, the search for a breakfast spot led to stumbling upon Cafe Dog & Rabbit. Initially hesitant about the prices, hunger prevailed and an order was placed. However, the food surpassed expectations with its exquisite preparation and generous portions. It was evident that fresh ingredients were used, making it undoubtedly the best breakfast ever experienced. Despite not having a reservation, the staff warmly accommodated guests and provided helpful assistance.
I've been here twice now, both of which have been a great experience. I've had both the full Cornish and "D'n'R" eggs. Excellent food, coffee and service on both occasions! Free WiFi is a plus too.

We had an absolutely wonderful experience at Dog & Rabbit—a charming, family-run restaurant that truly exceeded all expectations. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed with genuine warmth and hospitality. The staff were incredibly accommodating and went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and looked after. The food was simply outstanding—fresh, beautifully presented, and bursting with flavour. Every dish had that unmistakable homemade quality, crafted with care and passion. You can really feel the love behind everything they do here, from the kitchen to the table. Dog & Rabbit is one of those rare places that leaves a lasting impression—not just for the amazing food, but for the people and atmosphere that make it feel like a home away from home. We’re so glad we found it, and we can’t wait to come back. Highly, highly recommended!

Very good and cosy cafe. The staff was friendly and food and drinks were served quickly. Few vegan options, very good. My partner said it was the best full he had in Cornwall (mushrooms fantastic, everything was good - just not enough it). Fake tuna sandwich was really tasty as well. We took their vegan cookies to go on our hike, best snack we brought with us
Gabriela P — Google review
Fantastic café! We had the most reasonably priced, superb salads. Too many ingredients to list here but the main "salad staples" such as lettuce, cucumber & tomatoes were absent. Instead the salad consisted of a variety of locally grown, tasty salad leaves, some we'd never seen before, with a mixture of other ingredients including very tasty toasted nuts and seeds. Then you can choose a combination of toppings from ham, boiled eggs, hummus, spicy olives, feta and more. The experts reckon we should eat 30 different plants a week. You will probably be well on the way to achieving that by in one meal by having a Super Salad here. There's more on the menu than salads. The other dishes sounded very tempting. The staff were friendly and the vibe was excellent. If I lived nearby this would be a daily experience. And the chips! It's so rare these days to find anywhere that still serves chips that started the day as potatoes. Virtually everywhere now serves chips from frozen. The chips here are simply the best. Worth a visit just for the chips in my opinion. I should point out that the photos are from my first visit over 5 years ago so prices would have changed!

Called in for a bite to eat after some walking in the area, and on our way to Cape Cornwall. I got a Falafal wrap with chips and my partner got a Sheese and vegan black pudding toastie. The food was absolutely phenomenal - the chips were the best chips I’ve ever eaten! The side salad was beautiful, with a really yummy dressing. Service was top notch and friendly. We will probably go back to St Just for the sole purpose of visiting this cafe again! Top marks from us, and will be back! Things to note - the vegan and veggie options are plentiful and it’s also super dog friendly. Two big pluses for ua!

Cape Cornwall Club is a relaxed hotel with airy rooms offering sea views, dining options, a golf course, gym, and sauna. The 140-year-old chimney stack outside the town rises 230ft above sea level and offers amazing views from the top. Guests have praised the brand new immaculate rooms and stunning location. The hotel also offers a vegan tasting menu that is well worth the price according to visitors.
We stayed one night during our South West Coast Path walk, and we really enjoyed it. The hotel is less than 10 minutes from the trail (albeit all up-hill!), so very convenient. The friendly host gave us a little tour of the facilities whilst taking us to our room. The room was on the small side but very comfortable. The only thing we didn't like was that the windows didn't open. The dining room had a small but diverse range of offerings, and the included breakfast buffet had all the components of a typical breakfast. We definitely would stay again.

Dining is top tier. Food was excellent, especially dinner. Dining staff were the loveliest and so attentive. Rooms can feel a bit stuffy, as ours did not come with a window. They provided fans though which helped.

Stunning location with sea view for sunsets from the restaurant terrace. Small rooms with en suite bathroom & tea/coffee making facilities. Staff incredibly friendly and nothing too much trouble. Car park and route from restaurant to rooms gravel/stone chippings, so not wheelchair friendly (although we managed most of it.) Luckily, my Mum is able to walk a short way so this wasn't insurmountable for us. Food fabulous 👌
Sandie M — Google review
Was really looking forward to our stay. Unfortunately, there were several problems. The room we stayed in has curtains which were too small so people can see in and out of both the room and toilet - right next to a walkway to other rooms. The staff seemed reluctant to believe us until they came to see for themselves. There were no other rooms available so the only way to continue in the room was for them to put bedsheets over the curtains to cover the gaps. Not the most elegant way to spend the night, but the only available. They offered for us to have a free drink at the bar while they did so. Additionally, the room was not as clean as expected, with hairs in the shower and on top of the bed. The shower walls has some mould, but nothing worrisome. However, when using the shower, you will inevitably spill water on the bathroom floor since there was no door or curtains, only a very small glass wall. This was made worse as there were no matts or other towels to put on the floor. The mugs they gave were covered in fluff/dust and some other crusty specks of something. We had to clean them ourselves before using them. They also did not have a water bottle as customary in hotels, and we had to use the sink tap to make tea. The pool and breakfast were nice, which was the only upside of the stay. We also saw the gym which seemed good although we did not use it. When we complained about the cleanliness of the room the next day, the staff member was dismissive and suggested that it was because we booked the cheapest room (£110 for 1 night), to which I said we were not complaining about the room being small but about the cleaning standards of a place that supposably prides itself on its luxury. Even another guest who was at reception when we were complaining about the room spoke to us and said we were completely right to complain and this had nothing to do with how cheap the room was. Not a great look and again, not the standards we were expecting. When we were already outside and in the process of leaving, the staff member gave us a card and asked for us to email them our concerns, which I will do after this review. I would like to note that while most of the staff we spoke to was dismissive and not to par with our expectations, the gentleman that put curtains on our windows was nice and understanding, a welcome contrast.

For day 2, we recommend exploring the northwest side side of town. Start the day off with Porth Nanven ( Cot Valley ), then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Ballowall Barrow. All together, your day would be filled with about 7 hours of non-stop fun.

Porth Nanven, also known as Dinosaur Egg Beach, is a hidden gem in Cornwall near Sennen Cove. Accessible via a narrow single-track road from St Just village, this cove offers two small beaches where dogs are welcome. The area is popular with dog walkers and features large boulders scattered across the bay. While the road to Porth Nanven may be challenging for some due to its narrow and winding nature, the stunning coastal views make it worth the journey.
So much to see here but it needs to be explained. Often not what you think. Landscape lots of mining impact, mines, choughs, barrow, glacial remnants, volcano elements. Well worth reading up on to get more out of area.
John T — Google review
A beautiful stretch of coast, but the road to it here is narrow and winding, perhaps not for the fainthearted in the busy summer months.. A good car park once you get there and a box for donations for parking. Steep paths up but worth it for the views in both directions along the coast.
Roy S — Google review
Very narrow single track road leads to a small free car park. It's really worth a visit. Good place for spotting the seals. Peaceful and hidden because not many people come here.
Briga H — Google review
If you are really really brave and confident driving very narrow single track winding roads going to a tiny cove with unstable cliffs, then this is perfect place for you. You won't find any amenities or ice cream vans either.
Andy D — Google review
Great place to sit & watch the world go by. Tide was in when we were here, very rocky. Small car park. Interesting read about a ship that was wrecked on the beach back in 1930. Also remains of old tin mining works.
Ian B — Google review
A beautiful valley, can gain beach access over rocks. Coastal path from Cape Cornwall or Senna beach or drive from St Just down a fairly long, very narrow lane to a few free parking spaces.
Val L — Google review
A nice walk down from Bosavern through some stunning, hidden gardens. Along the stream and down to the beach past the old tin workings. It's a bit of a clamber to the shore, but definitely worth it. We had a brief cold swim, which was glorious
Shell G — Google review
The cliff now are looking ready to collapse, I saw a few large cracks in places. Very interesting area but if you walk along the paths, especially towards St Just, there are many fenced off open mine shafts. One or two seals visit this cove.

Friendly and knowledgeable staff - actually a rota of those whose work is on sale, like a sort of co-op. There is an authenticity about this place.

During my recent travels, I stumbled upon the enchanting Windswept Gallery, which quickly became my absolute favorite discovery of the trip! The stunning papier mache creations by the talented artist Allie truly captivated me. Not only are her pieces visually striking, but they also boast impressive eco-friendly credentials. I couldn't resist bringing home several unique items that I will cherish for years to come.
My absolute favourite find on holiday!! Allie’s work in papier mache is stunning and her eco credentials are second to none. Took home lots of lovely pieces I will treasure.

Nestled in the heart of St Just-in-Penwith, the Jackson Foundation Gallery is a contemporary art haven that beautifully intertwines creativity with environmental consciousness. This impressive carbon-negative space has earned accolades as one of Cornwall's top art galleries, thanks to its unique exhibitions and commitment to showcasing both local talent and co-founder Kurt Jackson’s diverse artistic expressions—from paintings to poetry and installations. The gallery not only features Jackson's captivating works but also hosts an array of exhibitions in collaboration with various environmental organizations.
Outstanding gallery space. If you are in St Just then you really should visit, entry is free. Kurt's artwork is excellently displayed downstairs, whilst there is a room upstairs for other work.

Stunning building located in St Just, displaying the works of local artist Kurt Jackson. Really worth a visit and make sure its on a day when the adjacent Dog and Rabbit Cafe is open. Kurt Jacson's work is really something special and displays passion and understanding of his subject matter. We purchased an amazing print and a signed book and would have bought an original if my bank manager would have let me.

The Mining and Mineral Exhibition offers a comprehensive display of the St Just area mines, showcasing an impressive collection of minerals sourced from these mines. Visitors can expect informative insights into the history of mining in the area, as well as engaging interactions with knowledgeable organizers. This exhibition provides a brilliant opportunity to delve into the world of mining and mineral exploration.
An excellent and well put together exhibition about the St Just area mines and an amazing collection of minerals from these mines. Those who had organised the exhibition and collected the minerals were informative and happy to answer questions about the mining, its history, and minerals. This is an exhibition well worth visiting and it would be good if funding was made available for this to be a permanent exhibition of the historical, and maybe future, importance of the St Just Mining Heritage area.

Historical landmark
Sights & Landmarks
Points of Interest & Landmarks
Ballowall Barrow, located near St Just as Carn Gloose, is the site of a Scillonian chamber tomb dating back to the Neolithic period. The tomb's remains offer a glimpse into an ancient burial ground that could be up to 5,500 years old. Visitors can explore the intriguing structure and enjoy breathtaking views of the ocean and cliffs in the background.
The barrow is 72 feet (22 m) in diameter. The Cornwall and Scilly Historic Environment Record describes it as a central domed structure, containing cists and with a pit beneath, surrounded by an outer cairn also containing cists. An entrance grave is located in the external side of the outer cairn. The site today is a confused mix of original and reconstructions introduced by Borlase. The finds from excavations are stored in museums at Truro, Cambridge and the British Museum. Worth a visit plus the bonus of the great views.
Pete H — Google review
Ballowall Burrow, located on Carn Gluze in Cornwall, is an intriguing prehistoric site with a rich history. The burrow is a series of ancient, underground chambers and passages that date back to the Bronze Age, roughly 3,000 years ago. It is believed to have been used as a burial mound, with the structure being carefully constructed to house the remains of the deceased. The site is part of a larger landscape of prehistoric monuments on the Penwith Peninsula, known for its numerous ancient standing stones, cairns, and burial sites. Over the centuries, Ballowall Burrow has been a focal point for archaeologists due to its well-preserved features. Excavations have revealed that the burrow was once covered by a large cairn, which has since been disturbed. The site provides valuable insights into the spiritual and cultural practices of the Bronze Age inhabitants of Cornwall. Today, Ballowall Burrow is an important landmark for both history enthusiasts and walkers exploring the rugged beauty of Carn Gluze and its surrounding moorland. Parking along the road but not a lot - Also a great place to walk the coast path to visit either Cape Cornwall or Cot Valley 😊
Nicola J — Google review
Intriguing structure in an amazing location. Views over top of Cot Valley and over to lighthouse/volcanic islands. Even more intriguing because of its contradictions and rebuilding. Hopefully it gets an update investigation using modern technology. In the meantime just take in the awe and majesty of where it is and what it is.

In a spectacular cliff-edge position, of the unique Bronze Age Tomb. The actual Bronze Age Tomb, there is not much to see but the views of the ocean & cliffs in the background are definitely worth the drive. Loved the scenery.

Nice bronze age village, bit out of the way but can visit with cape cornwall. You wan walk onto the barrow.

Beautiful walk easy paths to get up to- you can walk to Lands End on the Coastal Path if you want to- its 5+ 1/2miles - gorgeous views.!
Karen K — Google review
There is no entrance as such but at the front stones are protruding that act as steps to walk around on top of it. From there you could scramble down to the circular path inside, though no point as you can see it all from on top. Looking out to sea you can see the Silly Isles on the horizon. To the right is a good view of Cape Cornwall. Should you drive there be careful parking on the left of the road, ensure you don't reverse too far back, down the cliff.

Chinese takeaway
If you're in the area and craving some delicious Chinese cuisine, look no further than Red Star! This charming little fast-food spot is a local favorite, known for its mouthwatering dishes that keep patrons coming back for more. The ordering process is straightforward, and the friendly staff create a welcoming atmosphere that makes your visit even more enjoyable. Although it operates on a cash-only basis—so be sure to hit an ATM beforehand—the experience of interacting with locals and savoring fantastic food makes it all worthwhile.
As visitors to the local area what an absolute amazing little chinise fast food place! Very easy to order and the locals in the shop have a good laugh with you! Which made our experience much more worthwhile! The young lad behind the counter was on point but could crack a smile we did made him smile at the end of our visit 🙂 I’ve also included photos of the menu as I think the photos Google are showing are quite dull so hopefully this will help others 👍🏻 Please note that we found this much cheaper than we pay in the city of Wolverhampton! Only thing that I disagree with is 1 whole slice of prawn toast for £5.20 when up north you get 2 slices of bread not one BUT this was the best prawn toast I’ve ever had other then this it’s still deserved 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Would not bother if you have any decent taste in Asian food. We ordered by phone and was not informed it is cash only so imagine my surprise when I had zero cash on me when collecting the food. Suggested, and made the point as positive feedback, to inform people of this when they phone in, only to be told “people are normally aware it is cash only!” like I am some alien from another dimension who has the ability to read minds over the phone. Thinking this business does not fully understand their market consists of tourists as well as locals/and unlikely to care less. The only response I was prepared to indulge in was a simple “ok” before leaving as clearly can’t teach stubborn people new tricks. Having ordered a set meal for 2 people, which was meant to include bang bang chicken, we received a chicken salad with peanut sauce. Having researched what bang bang chicken is, it should be deep fried/crispy with a chilli sauce. The other food we received was just edible, the most passable dish being the rice. Definitely one of the worst Chinese/Asian food experiences we have had. I feel they are taking the mick out of locals and tourists alike to be perfectly honest as there is zero competition. Picture of bang bang chicken included?!?!

It's okay. Think of a budget Chinese takeaway in the late 1980s/early 90s. Cheap cuts of meat, luminescent sauces, padded out with bean sprouts. To add to the nostalgic feel it's cash only (there's a cash point in the post office.)
Rhodri E — Google review
Food great and tasty. Only disappointment was cash only which meant I had to run to an ATM before they would accept my order. I have no idea how places like this will survive in the future as we move more towards a cashless society.

This family-friendly brasserie has earned recognition for its affordable yet exquisite menu that changes daily, showcasing the best of Cornish and West Country ingredients. Breakfast options from opening, salad bar and filled rolls. Daily lunch specials, pizzas, sides and fries after 4pm. A remarkably varied business that knows their marketplace and caters to it. All takeaway; no deliveries. Great vibe, tasty and quirky pizza toppings you won't find elsewhere (or create your own) and a dedicated staff happy to help. 8am - 8pm except Sundays in summer, reduced days / hours out of season with very limited winter evening service.

Popped in to get a roll made up for lunch and somehow ended up walking out with a £4 ham bap, that would cost me £1.20 from the bakery at home for the exact same. The rest of the food was pricey. Spent over £20 on 2 made-up rolls, a small chicken pie and a brownie.

Fish and chips takeaway
Fast food restaurant
When you're in the vicinity of The Star, make sure to head over to Jeremy's for a delightful fish and chips experience. Known for their expertly cooked cod, this spot has become a favorite among visitors who crave that classic British dish. Although the restaurant may have limited options on the menu now, patrons rave about the perfectly battered fish and generous portions of chips. Many travelers returning to Cornwall swear by Jeremy's as their go-to place for satisfying cravings after a day exploring Cape Cornwall.

Fish cake, and chips were pretty average, but not bad. Polite service. I think, like most chippy's, the costs have risen to almost not worth it levels. You don't get a lot for your hard earned anymore, at £8.50 for Fish cake & Chips in a poly-carton, & tiny pot of curry sauce. The days of a good-sized portion are long gone.
Darrell ( — Google review
Had fish and chips earlier today and went and watched a show my daughter was in…the fish and chips were nice…however as a treat I said I’d get her some fish and chips as she hadn’t eaten since lunch…I got there at 7:55pm where it states 8pm shut and told they were closed….maybe you need to change your opening times Thanks…won’t be back!

Had medium portion of chips at 4.30pm certainly weren't freshly cooked & dry. Very expensive at £3.50. Been using this chip shop for 15 years... no more business from me this is my last visit.

Stopped here to pick up some fish and chips and we weren’t disappointed, they were delicious! Your order is taken and you are advised that there is a waiting time as everything is cooked freshly for you, the fish and chips were cooked to perfection I had mushy peas and my husband had curry sauce which were tasty too. Would recommend as we both enjoyed our tasty treat 😋.
