Sights & Landmarks
Ancient Ruins
Akrotiri is an enclosed archaeological site that showcases a well-preserved Bronze Age settlement. It is considered one of the most significant prehistoric settlements in the Aegean region. Visitors can explore the ancient civilization by wandering through its streets and examining frescoes, artifacts, everyday items, advanced drainage systems, and multi-story buildings dating back to the Bronze Age.
The Archaeological Site of Akrotiri on Santorini is an absolutely amazing and unforgettable experience that we highly recommend to anyone visiting the island. This incredibly well-preserved Bronze Age settlement, often referred to as the "Minoan Pompeii," offers a unique and intimate glimpse into a sophisticated civilization tragically buried by a volcanic eruption around 1627 BC. The scale of the site, which is completely covered by a modern, bioclimatic shelter, is breathtaking. Walking along the suspended wooden pathways, you look down upon multi-story buildings, ancient streets, and massive storage jars (pithoi), all of which convey the complexity and wealth of this ancient port city. The fact that the dig is still ongoing adds an incredible layer of excitement, highlighting that there are still mysteries beneath the earth waiting to be uncovered. What truly elevated our visit was our tour guide, Joanna. She was simply excellent! Her knowledge of the site, the history, the ongoing archaeological work, and the significance of the finds was profound and captivating. Joanna brought the silent ruins to life, painting vivid pictures of daily life in Akrotiri thousands of years ago. Beyond her expertise, her helpfulness and passion made the experience personal and engaging. She was happy to answer every question and clearly loved sharing the history of this remarkable place. In summary: • Site: Truly amazing, incredibly well-preserved, and a monumental piece of history under a modern protective roof. • Guide (Joanna): Highly recommended—knowledgeable, passionate, and very helpful. • Overall Recommendation: We highly recommend a visit to the Archaeological Site of Akrotiri. It is an essential stop on Santorini and an awe-inspiring historical journey.

History in this place is amazing only little bit has been uncovered cause there is no funding for this place. There is so much more under the ash that is still waiting to be discovered Wow was one of my highlights on the excursion I took.
Nicholas . — Google review
Oh wow!! I was totally amazed at this awesome historic place. Our tour guide showed us a indoor toilet from over 5,000 years ago. Shocking, mind blowing and amazing to see. They understand it to be The Lost City of Atlantis! The pottery and the layers of volcanic ash is over 3 stories deep and archaeologists are working with small instruments including toothbrushes not to harm anything they've only unearthed 5% so far. I'll have to return in about 10 years to see if they have uncovered more and found even more items from 3800 BC. 😲❤️
General D — Google review
We enjoyed seeing the the ruins. It cost €20 per person. There were bathrooms, a gift shop and an outdoor place for drinks and snacks before you enter the site. We went the end of October and it was not crowded at all. This may fluctuate depending on the season or how many cruise ships are docked. The actual site is covered (within a building) with walkways often looking down at the archaeology site. There's a variety informational plaques at different points in various translations. I do wish we had gone with a guide or an audio tour was available. There's a short video that plays with information and recreations (in both English and Greek with subtitles) to the left of the entrance that we found helpful. The site emphasizes that only 10% has been excavated and there is much more to unearth and learn.
Kaitlyn — Google review
This is a truly impressive and unique site. It was once a highly sophisticated village for its time, featuring even toilet seats and an advanced plumbing system. The settlement was completely buried under volcanic ash after the eruption around 2000 BC, yet no human remains were ever found. You can hire a guide at the entrance to learn more about its fascinating history. There’s also a nice kiosk and café on site.
Hila — Google review
Boring not worth €20. Go on YouTube, watch a video about this place, look at a few pictures of the ruins, and know that you have not missed anything. In the off-season this should definitely be worth less I could get into the Acropolis for less than this price. It was so unbelievably boring and all the descriptions do is describe how a building looked a bit. You really don’t get a sense of what life was like or anything. Go to any other museum. The wine museum is great!
Robin D — Google review
Awesome ancient ruins! Expect to spend a good couple hours here as you travel along the paths and read the descriptions of this advanced society. Nice to have them in English! They have a mini video that simulates walking though what one of the buildings would have looked like. Very neat! You can reach this musuem by taking the bus, it will drop you off right in front of it or take a car or scooter and park for two euro for the day. Don't forget to go to the Musuem of Ancient Thera in Fira. It will complete the experience!

Mesmerised by the architect.. a good and nice place to visit .. if you can afford Guide that will give you a very good insight on history .. 1 hour to 1.5 hours is enough (with guide and full details ) otherwise 1 hour is more than enough

Outdoor Activities
Red Beach in Santorini is a small but popular beach surrounded by red hills and volcanic rocks, offering a unique backdrop for beachgoers. The reddish sands and turquoise waters of the southern Aegean create a striking contrast, making it one of the most famous beaches on the island. Accessible through a bit of hiking, this unforgettable cove also provides opportunities for snorkeling.
Amazing beach! Water is totally transparent and with good temperature. Is a different kind of beach due it has little stones instead of sand, you need to know it. The different colors give you a impressive landscape.
Oscar — Google review
This spot is right next to the Akrotiri archaeological site, with parking available in a nearby dirt lot. The path is short and quite popular, with a small kiosk at the entrance — when we visited, there was even a guitar player along the way. The beach itself is beautiful but not ideal for swimming, and you’ll need to bring your own umbrella for shade. Overall, it’s a pleasant and easy walk with lovely views.
Hila — Google review
Simply beautiful! It's a 7 minute walk from the parking lot. Shoes are recommended to walk there. If you plan on staying for a swim, arrive early. The day we went there were at least 100 people there at 10:00
Eric G — Google review
Beautiful view point on the right side of the beach. On 28 October the beach itself was closed with a rope line, you can access the beach but not swim. From the viewpoint you can climb down to the beach or take the road on the left of it. All the local busses stop at the archaeological site from which it’s a little 10 minute walk downwards. Before reaching the view point you will see a sign stating: danger no entry. But everyone continues walking to reach the viewpoint.
Martina V — Google review
The Red Beach in Santorini is truly unique — its red sand and surrounding cliffs create an otherworldly landscape that feels almost like being on Mars. It’s definitely worth a visit when exploring the island.
Murillo P — Google review
Have you ever walked through small goat trails and climbed up and down across cliffs to access a beach? Red Beach is such a location. The beach is pretty small-scaled and with small pebbles. Quite a strange view is the result of a landslide some time ago on some storage facilities close to the cliff-side. You see bits and pieces of something which looks like a kitchen and sunbeds covered by dirt.
Steve P — Google review
Another unique place on a unique island. There are several beaches on the island, and they are all different, but this one stands out the most, with its otherworldly views. You can get there by car, there is parking available, then walk for about 5 minutes along a rocky path.
Alex — Google review
We parked right in front of Saint Nicholas Church and followed the short walking path until reaching a yellow sign covered with stickers — the spot that marks the start of the Red Beach viewpoint The striking red cliffs and turquoise waters were stunning, and we were lucky to come across a violinist playing by the sea, adding a beautiful and unexpected touch to the experience

Immerse yourself in the myth of the lost city of Atlantis at the Lost Atlantis Experience - Interactive Museum. Located in the village of Megalohori, this museum is dedicated to exploring the possibility that Santorini, particularly its ancient city of Thera, could be the inspiration behind Atlantis. Through interactive exhibits, a 9D movie experience, dioramas, and holograms, visitors can delve into this captivating legend.
A very very very interesting and interactive museum referring to list Atlantis! Amazing for kids and adults! You take a full insight of the myth of the lost Atlantis and you also enjoy a very interesting film! Highly recommended especially if you are fascinated of such myths or if you have children!
Christina S — Google review
I agree with the other 1-2,star reviews. The idea is nice, but in reality there’s very little to see and the “9D” (basically 3D from the 90s graphics with some atmospheric effects) feel gimmicky. Staff was friendly but a bit pushy and made us go through the button pressing etc, while waiting, which made the visit unpleasant. The whole experience is short, underwhelming, and needs to be modernized with better effects, better visuals and better story. This place needs serious improvement by adding some more stuff about ancient Greece (doesn't have to be Atlantis but from similar time period). I honestly don’t understand where the 5-star reviews come from, maybe small children or Santorini locals to get more tourists? It's not for lack of trying, but more expectations vs reality of what is to offer.
Hu A — Google review
Very modern and truly interactive museum with great visualisation in different creative formats. Highlight: 9D show to learn about Atlantis and history of Santorini. One of the most exciting and varied museums! Plus: the staff guides you individually and smoothly through the experiences - never seen that before on such an astonishing level! We were impressed and learned a lot. We recommed it for adults and families with children (age 10+).
Maurice K — Google review
With a heavy heart i leave this review, unfortunately i’d had to put a 3 star review. The experience itself was 14 euro which wasn’t horrible. The ladies who worked there were extremely helpful, and informative. The staffs we’re 100% 5 stars. However… The experience itself was… relatively underwhelming. The 4D theatre was quite interesting and fun, but the rest was quite meh. This may be a cute spot for kids.
BennyDoe — Google review
This was a really fun and educational experience! It explores the myth of Atlantis, its possible connection to Santorini, and the volcanic eruption and tsunami that destroyed the ancient city. The staff were extremely helpful and attentive, guiding us through the exhibitions. There’s also a 9D movie and some fun photo opportunities. Highly recommended!
Hila — Google review
Wonderful experience, full of information and interactive displays. The 9d video experience was fun and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Lovely things to buy in the gift shop also.

A most enjoyable interactive learning experience from start to finish! The staff were all kind patient and very helpful. We didn’t have to wait at all, but then it is October. I would recommend this for any age group there is something for everyone. Thank you.

Great fun and learning experience for the whole family. The 4D cinema was brilliant as we discovered the destructive force of nature. I highly recommend taking the quiz using the QR code because it will create an AI version of you. Luckily I came out as the God of Atlantis!

Santo Wines is a renowned winery in Santorini, offering breathtaking views of the caldera and the Aegean Sea. The winery provides walking tours, wine tastings, and dining options with a terrace overlooking the stunning scenery. Visitors can book wine tours to explore the vineyards and learn about the unique winemaking process. Santo Wines is known for its picturesque terrace, making it an ideal spot to savor wine while admiring the mesmerizing sunset.
Great view, very professional staff. The atmosphere is high end and the place is worth a visit. We did wine tasting with 6 varieties. Most of them are nothing special, however the aged ones were pretty good. Overall prices are high but the view and atmosphere are spectacular. Make sure to come during sunset or at night for the best experience.

Santo wines is worth a visit. The staff are smart and professional which goes with the high end ambiance. We had a flight of 4 tastings which each came with cheese and crackery like bread which was amazingly yummy. The views are breathtaking and surreal. A beautiful time was had!
Kay S — Google review
Santo Wines is an absolute must-do in Santorini; the views are truly insane and cannot be beaten. The entire staff was incredibly lovely, helpful, funny, and attentive—making the experience wonderful. Three members of our group enjoyed the wine tasting, which was beautifully presented with a wine book for notes and generous snacks (cheese, meats, fruits, and crunchy breadsticks). My favorites were the white wines and the sparkling rose! The gift shop is great for buying smaller bottles or arranging to ship wine home. Overall, an incredible experience from start to finish. Highly recommended!
Jamie F — Google review
The food was absolutely amazing ,fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The wine paired perfectly, and the view of the caldera at sunset made the experience unforgettable. Excellent service, great atmosphere, and truly memorable dining. Highly recommended!
Pavan S — Google review
We booked a dinner here, where you’re required to pay €60 upfront per adult, which is later credited toward your meal. Due to weather conditions, we sat indoors, and the venue felt a bit crowded and noisy. The food quality was mixed — the first course was excellent, but the main courses were mediocre and slightly undercooked. We also did a wine tasting, which was enjoyable. However, the main dishes took an extremely long time to arrive. The view from outside the restaurant is truly unique, but considering the high prices, the overall experience didn’t quite live up to expectations in terms of food quality and service.
Hila — Google review
Visited Santo Wines for dinner ( we also visited 3 years ago and loved it ) the place is as spectacular as we remembered. The wines excellent, service amazing (special thanks to Mario) and also amazing food, you can really tell the quality. Tip: Get the oysters, the best oysters we have ever had. + one of the best sunset views
D A — Google review
Great experience. The staff were so knowledgeable; they gave a great explanation about the pairings and the wines. The view is also incredible we spent extra time just looking around as the whole complex is a luxury experience. The shop also had some great finds in it. If your in Santorini its well worth a stop here. Its also much less crowded than some other areas.
Kirsty W — Google review
Such an amazing view, they could easily get away with the bare minimum but this place really impressed us for the quality of the service, food and wine. We didn’t know of any Greek wines b/f dinner but we enjoyed their sparkling (brut, dry enough for our French tastebuds) a dry white and a red. All were great. For dinner we went with a tapas menu of scallops, salad, sardines, and cheese and it was beautifully presented and delicious. Efhkaristo! It was wonderful 🙏

Kantouni is a traditional Greek restaurant located in the heart of Pyrgos, Santorini. The restaurant offers a variety of delicious and authentic Greek dishes at reasonable prices. Visitors can enjoy Mediterranean and Greek grill options while taking in the charming ambiance of the old town streets, which are inaccessible by car. It's recommended to start exploring from the main walkway near Kantouni and make your way up towards the castle and church for a scenic experience.
Food was delicious and the atmosphere was very pleasant and relaxed. Service was good and the food came out amazingly quickly! Rolled the dice on the 500ml white house wine and it was very tasty, particularly for 8 euro. Ordered a dessert to share and it was something very new to us and was delicious! Overall a very nice restaurant and experience.

I love burgers and try to eat them wherever I go on holiday. This place had some very good reviews for food including a few for their burgers so have it a try. The burger was very impressive! Clearly homemade and was very big. The meat has a lovely taste and was juicy. And it was covered in a kind of cheesy buttery sauce that only helped with the great taste (very messy to eat though!) The black carbon bun looked fun. Tasted like a normal bun, and was amazingly soft inside and crispy outside and tasted really fresh. My wife had the Kontosouvli pork (hanging kebab) served with really nice pitta bread. The meat was cooked nicely but was a bit fatty for our personal taste. Both meals came with really really well cooked lovely soft potatoes. So much better than fries! Was really nice sitting in the shade and the service was good. And they had a nice clean toilet. Would definitely recommend the burger here. Expensive but worth it.

Amazing place to have dinner. The food is super tasty, deserve 5* for sure. Service is awesome. The best part that place put napkins and toothpicks on the table. Who know service in Greece knows that it deserve the best review😉

Great service, delicious food and nice atmosphere. Not to mention the reliable prices. The food arrived quickly, everything was freshly made. The meat was crispy but in the meantime it melted in my mouth. I had to close my eyes as this scrumptious food took me to another universe. Highly recommended!

Very good restaurant in Pyrgos. Delicious food. Tasty beer from local brewery. Really enjoyed my lunch in this restaurant. Very friendly and helpful staff. Cosy and romantic atmosphere. My daughter enjoyed playing with the cats. If you plan to visit Pyrgos I will recommend visiting this restaurant to enjoy your lunch or dinner.

Amazing! Food was just amazing. Only critique would be to clean the material that gives shade above head because the cats have ruined it and it’s a bit gross but everything is amazing staff! Food! Amazing

We ate here for lunch and really enjoyed the food. We had the Santorinian tomato fritters and smoked pork chop, which were both excellent. The smoked pork chop in particular had a delicious smoky flavor imparted by the olive wood smoke they use. We also enjoyed the walnut cake at the Kantouni Sweetery that is associated with the restaurant, which is right next door. Don't skip the desserts there - it was amazing too!

Nestled in the charming landscape of Santorini, Kallisti Taverna is a delightful gem that embodies the essence of Greek hospitality. This family-run establishment offers an authentic dining experience where you can savor local specialties like grilled eggplants and fried tomato patties, all prepared with love by chef Nectarios. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it a perfect spot to unwind after exploring nearby attractions such as the Church of Aghios Nikolaos and its fascinating museum of icons.
We visited the restaurant during 2021 Christmas. This was one of the few restaurants open in Pyrgos. The owners (father and son) were very gracious in accommodating our dietary needs. Their menu was limited to what was in season. They cooked up a couple of salads and hearty dishes from their pantry (off menu dishes) and they were all delicious. They also asked us to call ahead of our return back to the area the following day so they could make a pasta dish and have it warm and ready for us! Absolutely will return if I am ever back in the area and highly recommend the restaurant.

Ambience was nice but restaurant does not have variety of food options. And the menu was not even properly categorized. But drinks were amazing..i have ordered summer breeze and i really like its freshness..

Snagged some more saganaki while waiting near the bus stop across the street. Impossible to fake it, this place hasn't stop producing. Hard to say what to get, but moussaka won't disappoint. Also the tomatoes are a national treasure due to the volcanic soil.

Delighted to follow recommendations to this excellent, unassuming place, where friendly and relaxed folks served us divine chargrilled aubergine and lamb ribs, freshened up with a sweet Santorini tomato and caper salad. Thoroughly recommended.

Was around that area and so googled and found people gave good review for this restaurant. So we give it a try. The fish of the day taste really good. You can taste the freshness. We ordered a kinda of dip, the first page and top most of the list, together with the bread, it taste fantastic.

Five star at least... we came for dinner, lunch and again dinner and couldn't be happier to eat the best lambchop ever, not mentioning the moussaka daily prepared by chef and dad Nectarios... we loved the tender and juicy chicken souvlaki, the Santorini salad... products are fresh, tasty and cooked with love. We definitely recommend and can't wait to come back to Santorini to enjoy the pleasure of eating here at Kallisti Taverna

Alchemia Lounge Cuisine is a modern dining spot in Pyrgos that offers a contemporary take on traditional dishes, using local ingredients and featuring a good selection of vegan and vegetarian options. Despite being somewhat off the beaten path, it's worth seeking out for its delicious breakfast offerings. The restaurant boasts attentive and friendly staff who provide excellent service, while the portion sizes are surprisingly generous. The mushroom starter was one of the best meals we’ve had in Santorini! Great old fashioned. Solid steak. Highly recommend for a date night.

Alchemia Lounge was an unexpected gem on Santorini! The service is truly top-level — the staff is attentive and kind. My favorite Greek dish, taramasalata, was served in a delicious and unique interpretation. It was really interesting to try it in a different way. A special thank you for the lovely surprise: in addition to our order, we were offered a complimentary local Greek starter with pita, cheese, and artichokes. It was very interesting and tasty! Thank you for the warm welcome and excellent service — we truly appreciate it!

An excellent restaurant in Pyrgos, it's a shame we only discovered it on our last evening on the island. The service is great and the food and the chef are excellent. We simply enjoyed every bite. The fish was cooked to perfection on top of mashed potatoes. We sat on the amazing terrace with a sea view. I recommend coming especially if you are in Santorini, every bite is worth it.

I love traditional cooking. I love creativity and playfulness. This is hands down one of the top three places I've eaten in Greece that strikes a fantastic balance ♎⚖️ between the two. The restaurant is located in Pyrgos, the highest village in Santorini. You get a fantastic view of the Aegean from their balcony. The establishment is decorated very well with nice earthy white and brown colors inside. The music is not too loud. Spectacular establishment, simply lovely 🤩, especially because of the thoughtful and kind staff that works there. Shout out to Dimitri for being such an amazing host both times I visited. I had a glass of Mavrotragano, a red local variety that survived the plague of the 1800s. I'm a big fan of Xinomavro. This is like its island, chill cousin 😎 and, perhaps, the best Greek red I've had. I also had the lamb sausages! Unique! On my second visit, I had the lamb leg in lemon sauce, artichokes and fennels 🤯🤩😍. The lamb was soft and sweet. The lemon sauce tangy enough. And the fennel added a touch of herbal 😍🔥😎. In Santorini, with you mes amours 😍🧡😻.

Greek restaurant
Geromanolis is a charming traditional Santorini restaurant located in the heart of Megalochori village. It offers a delightful experience with beautifully prepared Greek cuisine, including tomato keftedes and mouthwatering seafood dishes. The family-run taverna takes great pride in serving simple yet delicious food that has earned popularity among locals. Visitors praise the exceptional service and reasonable prices, making it an ideal choice for those seeking an authentic dining experience without overpriced or overly Greek decor.
A Hidden Gem ,Authentic Greek Family Hospitality at Its Best Geromanolis is a true treasure a family-owned taverna that delivers authentic Greek food, warm hospitality, and great value all in one. We tried a variety of dishes seafood, pasta, chicken, and meat and everything was absolutely delicious. Each plate was full of flavor, freshly prepared, and served with care. And the tzatziki? Easily the best we tasted on the entire island of Santorini! The prices were another highlight very reasonable, especially compared to other restaurants in town. It’s rare to find this level of quality at such fair prices. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, with several locals dining alongside us, which always says a lot. The owners and staff were genuinely friendly. If you're looking for a real Greek dining experience, away from tourist crowds and packed with heart, Geromanolis is the place to go. We’ll definitely return.

Geromanolis Restaurant was, without a doubt, the best local dining experience we had during our stay in Santorini—nestled in the charming village of Megalochori. 🇬🇷💙While we had the chance to try several other restaurants, including some with higher price tags, it was Geromanolis that truly captured our hearts and taste buds, making our trip all the more unforgettable. 🥹🥰 The ambiance is authentically Greek, offering a warm, traditional feel that makes you feel right at home. Service was efficient and welcoming, and the food—absolutely exceptional. Each dish was rich in flavor, prepared with care, and served generously. The ingredients—especially the fish, shrimp, squid, vegetables, and other fresh produce—were incredibly fresh, and that quality could truly be tasted in every bite.🤤🤤🤤 We found ourselves coming back not once, but three times—and if we had discovered it earlier, we would’ve happily dined there every evening. (They’re open from 17:00 to 23:00 PM, so don’t miss the window!)😉 Every visit was met with kind hospitality, and we especially appreciated the sweet gesture of being served complimentary yogurt with honey for dessert—a small detail that left a lasting impression.🥹 The combination of quality, quantity, and genuine warmth made every meal a joy. We always left with full stomachs and happy hearts.☺️❤️ If you’re looking for a traditional Greek tavern in Santorini that delivers in every way—look no further than Geromanolis. Highly recommended and truly deserving of more than a perfect score.💯⭐ Thank you so much for the delicious meals, wonderful drinks, and heartwarming service. We’ll definitely be back one day! This place is a solid 11/10—both in flavor and hospitality. Absolutely top-notch!⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐🔥

Food was ok, after reading reviews we were expecting much better. Service was very slow, even for Greek standard. We ordered souvlaki and pasta, waiting time was over 40 minutes. Size of souvlaki portion small if you compere different places.

Definitely the best restaurant in Megalochori. If you are not looking for fancy things but for traditional and authentic Greek food and atmosphere you are on the right place ❤️

It’s a great place to try traditional Greek food. Everything was fresh, tasty, and served hot. We especially loved the fish. I also had saganaki (grilled cheese), which was delicious, and the chicken souvlaki was very good as well. My partner tried the fried rabbit — he said it was fine, though a bit on the dry side since it was deep-fried. Flavor-wise, it reminded him of chicken, so overall it was still enjoyable.

If you're looking for the true local cooking Geromanolis is the place to go. Good price, big portions and that rustic and simple atmosphere that makes everything better. Service is very quick and staff there are very kind

Apollon Restaurant, situated in close proximity to the breezy Perissa bay, offers a tranquil setting and serves top-notch traditional Greek breakfast dishes. Patrons can savor their meals while enjoying picturesque vistas of the sea. Conveniently positioned near Gate 4, Apollon is an ideal spot for a quick meal and beverages. The welcoming host exudes charm and efficiency, providing assistance without being overbearing. Despite being slightly pricey, it's understandable given the location.
I’m so happy I didn’t see the reviews before I came here. I have celiac disease and the server was able to help me feel so comfortable ordering yogurt, honey and walnuts off the menu. I probably would not have gone for anything else as I’m not sure of the cross contamination of everything else on the menu, but my husband’s chicken club sandwich looked phenomenal and he really enjoyed it. They kept all the ingredients of my yogurt separate so I could read the ingredients and decide if I wanted them together. I heard the server tell the chef I needed to be gluten free and he brought it to me himself. The server at this place deserves a huge raise, he’s funny, personable and just a gorgeous human. I think he may as well have been the best server we have had in Greece. Thank you for helping me feel safe with food before I jumped on the ferry 💙

I'm glad we didn't read the reviews for this place! We arrived over an hour early for our ferry and decided to have a seat while we waited. My wife and I shared a grilled sea bream with fries and salad. As promised, the fish was super fresh and well and simply prepared... I wish I had thought of taking a picture. Sure, the fish, beer, and water were in total 5 or 6 euros more than anywhere else, but wow... it was so much better than lining up in the hot sun as hundreds of others in front of us were doing. We paid up, joined the end of the line as it passed, and were on board in a couple of minutes. The extra cost is like paying for lounge access at the airport. A bit of comfort is often worth the money!
Lou K — Google review
I bought it thinking it was a handmade drink, but they just added syrup to water. I’m really, really disappointed. I won’t be coming here again. The only reason this place is crowded is because there’s no seating at the ferry dock, so people come here out of necessity.
Elif G — Google review
Very good vegan burger and fries. It's right in front of the port. So everyone has their luggage and is waiting to board their ferry's. But if you need to eat before you take off this is a good option.
Sam W — Google review
I read the reviews after finishing my meal. so something has changed for the better. we had comfortable seating in the shade, cold refreshing drinks, wine and the food was very good. the staff were friendly and joking with us. we had a great time eating there and chatting with the staff.
Larry S — Google review
Not many options at the port, and this place might have the most seating so you kinda get sucked into it. The menu isn’t bad, but they make each person order something individually, which they don’t tell you until you order. The staff isn’t outwardly rude, but they are not the most friendly either. The food was decent, so at least they have that going for them.
Justin S — Google review
Conveniently located right by Gate 4, Apollon is the perfect place for a quick bite and drinks. The guy who invites you to sit is such a delight. Not overbearing, but efficient and helpful, cheerful and friendly. A bit expensive, but understandable for where you are. I had a completely satisfactory ham and cheese croissant with an orange juice and cappuccino for 13.50€. Small but SUPER CLEAN bathrooms!! …We came back for another ferry and had lunch here! Best tzatziki and fries!!

Amazing place to have Snacks, food but beware of having lemonades (you could have a big Sandwich instead of it too 😉) before your Ship departs! Friendly Service! 👏🇬🇷 Bring your own water that would be the Best solution. Drinks way to overpriced.

Santorini is the largest island in a small circular archipelago known for its rugged terrain and classic blue and white architecture. It offers various tourism amenities and attractions, including stunning beaches like Kamari Beach, picturesque windmills at Kato Mili, and the historic site of Acrotiri. Visitors can also enjoy wine tasting with amazing views, breathtaking sunsets in Fira and Pyrgos, as well as delicious dining experiences at places like KIPOS Restaurant.
Visiting Santorini is a wonderful experience. The island is beautiful, with plenty of shops, restaurants, and things to see and do. The people are polite and helpful, which makes exploring even more enjoyable. It is a touristy destination, but still an experience of a lifetime, and I would definitely return. A helpful tip: discuss taxi fares in advance, as prices can sometimes be higher than expected.
Faiz D — Google review
Santorini Beautiful in Parts, but Not for Everyone Santorini is often seen as a dream destination and in some ways, it lives up to that image. The weather is fantastic, and there’s no denying the island has some stunning views, especially along the west coast in places like Fira, Imerovigli, and Oia. If your plan is to relax at a hotel pool or beach bar while soaking up the sun, it absolutely delivers. Villages like Oia are truly picturesque if you visit early. During the day, however, they become overcrowded as busloads of tourists arrive nonstop, which takes away much of the charm. But outside these well-known spots, the rest of the island can feel underwhelming. The east and northeast sides of Santorini are flat, quiet, and lack the dramatic views the island is known for. There’s not much to see, and it gets boring quickly. Infrastructure is another weak point. Roads are narrow, traffic is heavy, and many seasonal workers seem to bring in noisy, aging cars from the mainland, adding to both air and noise pollution. Despite posted speed limits, local drivers tend to ignore them, which, combined with the lack of sidewalks, makes walking anywhere quite risky. If your accommodation is outside a main town or far from shops, having your own transportation is basically a must. In short, Santorini might be perfect for those who want a laid-back resort stay with a few postcard views. But for travelers who enjoy exploring and variety, it doesn’t quite compete with the stunning landscapes, richer culture, and better infrastructure found across the Mediterran.

Santorini is a unique place , no one can deny that it is one of the most beautiful sceneries in the world . I loved it so much but it is enough to spend a day or two , as there is not much to see if you like exploring many places . It was Beverly strange to try to imagine lives of people up there , the island is located on a mountain and that is why it feels so isolated. The experience of hiking the mountain was not pleasant at all , many donkeys carrying people and many donkeys free going on the path with a lot of their shit on the steps ( very slippery) . Use the cable car ( 20 euros ) or take a bus but worst experience is hiking or even riding a donkey . ( not safe )

Santorini is an overrated island. Yes, the sunsets are stunning and worth seeing once in a lifetime, but beyond that? Nothing really special. Prices are high without reason, and the atmosphere is far from the warm hospitality I’ve always experienced in Greece – with only a few exceptions at some tavernas. Imerovigli was a highlight: cozy, charming, and clean. Oia, however, is extremely overrated – basic restaurants charging Michelin-star prices. The island overall feels neglected, with trash and plastic everywhere. Worth visiting once for the experience, but definitely not twice

Thira is lively and beautiful, with classic whitewashed homes and world-famous sunsets. It can feel overcrowded with tourists chasing the perfect photo (myself included!), but the charm, views, and vibrant atmosphere make it a must-see.

Very unique place, a must see once in a lifetime. We only visited both Oia and Fira one day in our trip which in my opinion is enough and amazing photos to add to album🇬🇷🏺 It's very busy but we managed to find some corners that only had few people. Whoever is complaining about this place being overrated, why are you visiting? We all want to see it with our own eyes so expect a lot of tourists. 🤓

The Santorini Wine Museum, also known as the Koutsoyannopoulos Wine Museum, is a unique underground museum located in a cave that delves into the rich history of winemaking in the region. The museum showcases historical exhibits dating back to 1870 from the Koutsoyannopoulos family and offers tours of its 300-meter-long premises situated eight meters below ground.
Attended with my 2 children, this is a must when visiting Santorini. The museum is great, it shows you the history of wine making by the family all set in beautiful caves. My two children enjoyed the audio guide too. This is then followed by wine tasting. Our host was Angela, she’s the best! Super friendly, really knowledgeable and helped us not only with wines but Santorini tips! Looking forward to bringing my family back on our next visit.
Kelly-Louise E — Google review
Great visit here and very informative. euro25 per person gives you the tour at your own pace with a little hand gadget in your language. Enter down the steps to the underground cave where the story of Santorini wine unfolds, sections show original old machinery, how the crop is grown, a story of the family and how the workers did their jobs. If you are interested in wine this has got to be for you, as you approach each story there is a board with numbers on, just press the corresponding one on your handheld & listen...no pressure so the time is yours. At the end you get to taste some of the wines 4 in all and the measures are ok, you will be guided to flavours and what to look for, of course everyone has different tastes but you can usually pick out the main back flavours. A must visit.

My mother and I booked a wine tour and tasting through our hotel concierge, Melanie. Upon arrival we were already expected and received a warm greeting. The historical tour in the cave was creative and very knowledgeable. The vine and grape cultivation is astonishing and gives a next level appreciation for the wine tasting. The last room prior to the exit was very well done with historical artifacts provided by locals in the region and even a retelling of how the islands were divided by volcanic eruption. The bar and tasting rooms are beautiful done and well appointed. Much to our surprise we were escorted to an elegant tasting room. A lovely charcuterie board was also provided. The highlight was the service provided by Angela. She is extremely knowledgeable and has a deep appreciation for the history of each wine. She also guided us on the pairing of each bite. Angela changed my perspective on dessert wines for the 2002 Kamaritis is now a favorite. Thank you, Angela for being a delightful host. We purchase 4 bottles, 3 of which we hoped to survive 2 flights back home. Thanks to your superb packing we can now share Santorini wines with our family for they are truly one of a kind.

Lovely experience. Was almost private going in the middle of the week. The museum and wine tasting were amazing. Loved the design of the place It’s the second best wine museum in the world! Worth trying! Don’t be discouraged when arriving, the museum is underground and wine testing and shop on a beautiful and modern hidden place

This is a must-do if you are visiting in Santorini! We had no problem getting in to the museum and had no reservations prior. The self-paced 8m underground museum is narrated by an audio pack. After the museum, you’ll enjoy a wine tasting. Angela (see center of the second photo) was so well-informed and personable! Our teens were given snacks and sodas to enjoy. Angela engaged us all in the conversation. If you are on a cruise, or if you’re in the area, this is a must-do while you are in Santorini!
Kimberly L — Google review
the ticket includes a guided tour of the museum, which takes you on a fascinating journey through history literally underground. the exhibits are beautifully preserved, and the entire experience is full of interesting facts and stories. after the tour, you’re treated to an elegant and well-organized tasting session, which truly feels special. a big highlight is the wonderful Ms. Angela—she’s incredibly kind, friendly, and an excellent storyteller. delicious snacks are also served during the tasting. I wholeheartedly recommend this place to everyone, it’s a unique and memorable experience!
Lena B — Google review
We did the Gold package tour which included 9 wines for tasting and a charcuterie board of snacks for pairing. Angela was our host. She did an outstanding job explaining more of the history of the family and then a detailed description of each wine we tasted, all of which were excellent. The snacks she suggested paired perfectly with each wine. We spent nearly an entire afternoon there and loved it. Highly recommend visiting this place.
G T — Google review
A must see while in Santorini. The museum has really interesting pieces and you will end your experience with a nice wine tasting of really high quality wines. The tour offers sound devices explaining the different areas of the museum which enhances the experience. Also, the number of wines to sample depends on the experience level you choose while paying at the entrance. Highly recommend!!

Nestled in the quaint village of Exo Gonia, Metaxi Mas is a charming hillside restaurant offering a laid-back atmosphere and stunning sea views. This family-run establishment serves up traditional Cretan dishes with generous portion sizes and complimentary raki, creating an inviting and friendly environment for guests to unwind.
Worth going out of your way for this place. It was hard to find an authentic Greek experience for a restaurant in the bigger villages so we drove out here for something more authentic. You start off the meal with some kind of version of ouzo, bread, cheese and olives ... All included in the experience. The food is great. Best meal we had on the island for our three day stay. Great service .

This place deserves more than 5 stars! They made traditional Greek cuisine with a little modern spin, so the foods are elevated to more flavorful levels. Greek salad are good but pretty ordinary and always the same. However, this is the first time I started to appreciate Greek salad. Must order the strawberry salad and the tomato shrimp dish. The house wine are incredible aromatic and cheap. The complimentary strawberry cheese cake are the best cheesecake I’ve ever had! The view at the restaurant is amazing too but really, the foods are the real star of the show!

We chose this restaurant for my birthday dinner (without mentioning it to the staff) based on the high reviews, and it definitely lived up to them. The location is tucked off a main road, you’ll need to park nearby and walk down an alleyway to reach it. The space offers both indoor and outdoor seating. We sat on the terrace overlooking the water, which had umbrella coverage and heaters, creating a cozy relaxed vibe. We ordered two starters - the dolmades and roasted white aubergine, and two specials - the moussaka and lamb chops. Everything was well prepared and delicious. Our server noted that the lamb was made with chives instead of garlic to avoid a strong flavour. That seemed consistent across the dishes. While I personally prefer more garlic-forward food, I didn’t really miss it since the flavours were still well balanced and executed. That said, a touch more garlic could have elevated the flavours even further in my opinion. At the end of our meal, we were given complimentary cheesecake, and the kitchen thoughtfully prepared a fresh fruit plate for my gluten-free partner, which was much appreciated.
M — Google review
True home-cooked meal with simple and earnest authentic flavor. Dessert, apertif, and small app are included, and the entire meal was excellent value for money. Eggplant was rich and flavorful with creamy notes and al dente texture. Dolmas were warm and perfectly soft and definitely the best I’ve had, ever. Their moussaka (special) and lamb were so good I had no choice but to carry them on my hike the next day and eat them deliciously at the peak. The restaurant happens to be in the middle of nowhere but it is well worth the trip. Remember to make reservations beforehand as it is very popular. On a side note, I’ve heard others say that the fine dining options on the island (e.g., Varoulko, Petra, Athenian House, etc.) are better than Metaxi Mas, but I personally felt that this restaurant could hold its own any day.
Laura B — Google review
I was skeptical at first since the restaurants I been to during this trip all had ratings 4.5+ but ended up very disappointing. BUT I am so glad I tried this restaurant. By far the best meal i had this entire week. Food was amazing. I got the grilled mushroom for starter, pork rack steak and lamb shank. Service was very good. They gave free welcome drinks and free dessert. You also get nice outdoor seatings with chill vibes.

We’ve travelled all across Greece for almost 20 years. When the Greek husband pronounces this some of the best Greek food he’s ever had, you take notice! That’s a huge call. A classic example of just how much Santorini has to offer. It’s not all blue church domes & flying dresses 😉

The best meal we had on the island. If you want great food and don’t want to pay absurd prices in one of the main touristy areas, this is your place. The steak and lamb were amazing. Along with the beet salad, octopus, and literally everything else! The free dessert at the end was also delicious

Pyrgos Kallistis Castle is a historic fortress located in the traditional village of Pyrgos, the highest settlement on Santorini. Built in the 16th century, it once served as a defense against pirates and invaders. Today, it stands as a cultural landmark offering panoramic views of Santorini's captivating past. The castle provides an insight into the island's history and strategic importance, with its elevated position affording breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.
The most beautiful place on the island! Peaceful sunset with no crowds of people around you was a cherry on a cake of Santorini. Would definitely recommend to visit.

Nice place but not my favorite, Fira is way better than Pyrgos but Pyrgos is worth it only if you have extra time or if you have nothing else to do on the island. Not crowded. Nice to walk, there a some restaurants and shops.
Ricardo R — Google review
Getting to the castle was a bit of a maze. Might have just been the place we parked, but Google Maps struggled to get us here. The paths are narrow and not as scenic as Oia or Fira, but they felt more authentic. I did pass a couple donkeys carrying trash on the way there as well. Castle is free to enter, but there isn't a whole lot to do here. Nothing is marked with history / significance and most of the castle fortification is in ruin. A couple restaurants but that's about it. Something to explore if you have free time but not something I would go out of my way to explore.

Very nice walk up to the Pygros Kallistis Castle through the old-fashioned walking streets with a combination of homes and the occasional shops along the way. It is an uphill climb but has some very pretty views, churches, and coffee shops/restaurants as well. The castle was not open when we stopped by, and I am not sure if the inside is ever open to the public or not as we did not see any signs. It's still a pretty view from the highest residential community on Santorini, and this community is not crowded like the two major cities on the island.

A beautiful short walk up some stairs and some picturesque Greek streets to this quaint restaurant. We had a reservation to watch the sunset and enjoy some dinner. My wife had the meatballs which she loved and I enjoyed the meal of the day which was another form of meatball with potatoes and a tomato sauce. Both delicious meals and one of the best spots we have found in Greece to enjoy a sunset. Friendly staff who made sure our honeymoon reservation was the best seat in the house.

The service here was surprisingly quick but we went early around 7pm to catch the full sunset. I loved this spot! The drinks were incredible. The food, although not extensive, was tasty. And you can't beat the view. The sun setting behind hills surrounded by the sea was incredible. And Pyrgos was adorable as well.

Booked a front of terrace table for dinner at 6pm. What a view! Fantastic dinner of pasta, glass of wine and best seats in the house for the daily show of the sunset. Once set, we were offered a blanket as it was a very windy evening. Huge compliments to the chef who made the tomato pasta dish absolutely sing. Husband had dish of the day which was mega! Lovely owners, who brought out the chef so I could compliment in person, and were then very generous in time to explain how a particular drink is made. Hands down, my favourite evening out on our holiday - sunset and fab dinner without the crowds.

We had a wonderful experience dining here. The restaurant has a beautiful terrace that’s perfect for watching the sunset. We booked in advance through our hotel and were seated at a table for two right at the front. Despite the busy terrace behind us, our spot felt very private. The sunset views were absolutely breathtaking — golden light stretching over the city and sea. There’s also a small area beside the terrace where you can step away to take photos, which makes the experience even more enjoyable. The food was of very good quality. We tried the dish of the day, which was meatballs in a tomato sauce flavored with cumin — hearty, fragrant, and full of flavor. We also had the traditional sausage, which was nice but not so memorable. The tea was excellent, made from loose leaves of a Venetian spiced blend, and paired beautifully with dessert. For dessert, we ordered what was listed as a chocolate fondant. It turned out to be more of a chilled chocolate tart rather than a molten fondant, but it was still rich and satisfying. I would recommend they change the menu to be clearer if this is in fact the dessert. Overall, this is a wonderful spot for a memorable evening meal. I’d highly recommend visiting at sunset for the stunning views. Just remember to bring something warm to wear once the sun goes down, especially if you’re visiting during the shoulder seasons.

Sanafi is a culinary treasure nestled in the stunning landscapes of Santorini, offering an unforgettable dining experience that stands out during any trip to Greece or Italy. The restaurant prides itself on using fresh, locally sourced ingredients, many of which are grown right on-site. Guests rave about unique dishes like their exceptional tomato fritters and melt-in-your-mouth white eggplant.
Lovely, fresh and delicious Greek food with a twist. Highly recommend! Costas was our server and he was extremely nice to us. Mussoka is a must-try!

We feel so lucky to have been directed to try Sanafi. This was one of the best meals we’ve had on our two months trip through Greece and Italy! The meal was clearly made with the freshest ingredients, indeed they use many ingredients they grow themselves. I could go on about each course we had but I don’t have enough room. Tomato fritters (you’ve never had them like these!), white eggplant (melted in our mouth), taramasalata that was the best I’ve ever tasted, chicken with orzo. And then Ice cream, with little baklava like treats. And if the food wasn’t enough the service made us feel like we were eating at home. Our waiter Kostas talked us through every option so we understood the course and even some of the history. I think every one of the wait staff stopped by at some point as we enjoyed a leisurely meal in the most amazing of settings. We’re short on photos because we were so excited about the food! Always a good sign..

A new gastronomic gem opened on the island. Artemis, with his super friendly and helpful team, has created a place which beside the delicious local dishes still offers the traditional Greek hospitality to all the guests, something that has almost extincted on the island. I strongly recommend this place if you want to feel welcome and respected.

Greek food with a modern twist!!! It has just opened and I was not disappointed when tried it! Try the Dakos salad and the saganaki cheese! And don’t forget to add the grilled veal liver! It was really out of this world! I highly recommend to give it a try!!!

Had an amazing dinner at Sanafi! Food was absolutely delicious with the Santorinian cod salad and rabbit being stand outs. The service was amazing from start to finish - Kostas and the rest of the team made us feel so looked after. We were welcomed with bread and homemade dips, and were attended to throughout our meal. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Santorini! Plus a gorgeous view of the mountains and sea away from the busy crowds of Oía and Fira.

Rosemary is a top dining spot in Pyrgos, Santorini, offering both indoor and outdoor spaces adorned with elegant decor. It provides stunning sunset views and a creative menu featuring the perfect blend of Santorinian ingredients for a delightful meal. Located in the former capital of Santorini, visitors can relish panoramic views of the pre-volcanic hinterland while enjoying their dining experience at Rosemary.
We’ve been here several times and they never disappoint. The food and service are consistently great. We had the pleasure recently to meet the local owner, celebrating his birthday with family at the restaurant which says a lot!! It’s just that kind of place. The rooftop venue has an amazing view of the area including Fira, Oia and of course the sunset! We loved our dinner in the secluded patio area (photos), just outside of where there is indoor seating for those colder nights, rare as they are. There’s a spot for every occasion. Recommend reservations as this place can fill up during the season but has good availability during the shoulder months. Staff recommendations were delicious, right down to the chocolate brownie with ice cream. You can’t miss this Pyrgos gem.

We came here for dinner and to enjoy the sunset, without a reservation – we just spontaneously found this place. They have an amazing terrace with a great view over Santorini. The waiter was very friendly and professional. The food was fresh and delicious. Just be aware of the cats – they can get a bit aggressive. I definitely recommend this place! 💯

Stopped because it was close to my Airbnb and I wasn’t disappointed. I sat at the outdoor seating which had a lovely view of the island and food was absolutely delicious! Wait staff were kind and attentive. A little pricey but average prices for Santorini. I recommend the grilled squid, it was fantastic! I didn’t go at sunset but I’m sure you would have a great view from the outside seating.

Rosemary made our best meal during our weekend-stay on Santorini. Every single dish was delicious! Here's what we ordered. 1) Food: Not very hungry, I got the meatballs, a side of bread to dip in the meatballs' creamy sauce, and the chocolate pie. The beef meatballs come in a cream sauce that we loved. There's plenty of sauce so get a side of bread to maximize it. The chocolate pie was not a pie at all. It was a large piece of undercooked brownie and so good! My eight-year-old daughter loved the salmon with carrot puree. The actual salmon was perfect cooked with crispy skin underneath. She also loved the chocolate pie with a scoop of chocolate ice cream. My mother-in-law really enjoyed the lambchops. Since they were out of mussels, my wife got the tagliolini pasta and really enjoyed it. 2) Drinks: The adults got their house wine- white, red, and rose. The pours are generous and the taste crisp. 3) Space: It's stunning inside and out. We sat on the rooftop deck with stunning views of the sea. Go at sunset to see a painting of the sky. 4) Service: It was very friendly, but very slow- the slowest service we had on Santorini. We didn't mind it since we weren't in a rush, but it took a long time to get our food and the attention of our server. Overall, we highly recommend Rosemary!

Quite the find. Whilst exploring Pyrgos, I came upon this restaurant. If I wasn't sold by the balcony view overlooking Oia and Fira, I certainly was by the food. Perhaps the greatest Marinated Grilled chicken I've ever tasted. If you find yourself in Pyrgos, get yourself here!

We had an incredible experience on the balcony with an amazing view of the sunset! The dishes were all delicious especially the octopus and the local wine. The waiter was very friendly and helpful. Aroma Avlis, nestled within the enchanting Artemis Karamolegos Winery in Exo Gonia, Santorini, is a culinary gem that should not be missed during your island adventure. This unique establishment combines a winery and restaurant experience, allowing guests to indulge in authentic Greek dishes crafted from seasonal local ingredients like tomatoes and fava beans. The setting is simply delightful—imagine dining in a cozy courtyard surrounded by lush plants and aromatic herbs while gazing out at the stunning Aegean Sea.
My family took the cooking class here. We cooked five different Greek foods each of which were super unique and delicious. We used the fresh tomato’s from the farm and got to try (and use) the wines they make. The chef was great, he taught quickly but that kept it going at a fun and learn some pace. After the class we were served the dishes we’d made and got to enjoy those in the restaurant. Highly recommend doing this. It gives you a new perspective on Greek cuisine.

This place is a must visit for food lovers in Santorini. We had the best time here. If you are interested and also love your wine, then a lovely private tour of the wine making facilities and cellar are available. A very knowledgable and relatable lady called Michelle guided us through, expertly, before seating us for our incredible dinner. We chose to sit in the garden and the ambiance was perfect. It’s a cleverly curated courtyard style space amongst mature olive trees and shrubs with beautiful flowers. The tables were well spaced and it felt intimate without being secluded from the atmosphere. The food… Crikey! I had a take on Moussaka to start. IT WAS THE BEST I’VE TRIED. Jenny had the octopus which was also delicious! For main I ate perfectly braised veal cheeks in a sauce made from their dessert wine - Vinsanto and Jenny had a fab chicken dish (generously portioned) with a cream sauce, asparagus and sautéed potatoes. All memorably delicious. The staff were all brilliant and attentive with great suggestions for wine pairings. Relaxed, professional, sharp service. I HIGHLY recommend. We ended up buying a bottle of the PYRITIS ‘23 (a stunning dry white, in a Chardonnay style) 👌🏼

Exceeded our expectations even though we were expecting the restaurant to be good to start. Reservations were easy to make as an English-speaking tourist though we did have a short wait to receive a confirmation. Once there, the atmosphere has an inviting upscale outdoor feel, staff was friendly and helpful with the menu and suggestions. The food we ordered was all beautiful and insanely delicious. We had the Santorinian tomato fritters, Santorinian fava, Greek salad, Lamb with artichokes, Catch of the day (croaker), Santorinian aubergine “like a moussaka” , and Black Angus Beef Filet paired with a rose (fish) and an orange wine (lamb). Highly recommend all. We were treated to a complimentary gorgeous plate of fruits and a dessert wine to end the night. All around one of our favorite experiences in Greece. Highly recommend!

I thought it was a peach, Thank you VIRJILIO ALSO PAVAROS WAS JUST AS GREAT!!!very nice establishment. Inside, seating outside seating, right We sat out underneath the vineyard on the deck. What a great lunch. Recommended to us by a local at the gas station. The woman who filled up our atv, said we must try this place out. So we drove up the road 2 km and boom there. Dining at Aroma Avlis in Exo Gonia was a delight! Nestled in the Artemis Karamolegos Winery, the setting is breathtaking—volcanic stone walls and sea views toward Monolithos. We savored the spaghetti with prawns, bursting with fresh, garlicky Mediterranean flavors, and the beef filet, perfectly cooked, tender, and paired with vibrant local veggies. The service was warm, the vibe authentic, and prices fair. A must-visit for amazing food and stunning scenery! 5 stars! 🌟🍝🥩

This is where we had probably the best meal on the island, even though it was beginning of the season and the restaurant was still closed. We called to make a reservation and they told us that only the dishes to pair wine tasting were available, so there was not the full menu. We chose to go and I'm glad we did! The food was amazing, all personnel was super kind and friendly and we had excellent time. I think you should definitely pay a visit if you would like to see what the traditional cuisine of Santorini tastes like. 5 stars, highly recommended!

Fine dining restaurant
Nestled in the picturesque area of Pyrgos, Selene Restaurant offers a breathtaking panoramic view of Santorini's vineyards in Akrotiri and Megalochori. With almost 30 years of experience, this renowned restaurant is celebrated for its new Greek cuisine and fine dining. Housed within an 18th-century Catholic Monastery, the restaurant exudes elegance with its arches, palm trees, and a charming fountain.
Selene is such an experience - don’t miss it if you’re in Santorini! We have been twice now and both times the service and food were outstanding. Their team even gave us a lovely gift as part of our honeymoon celebration.
Seán W — Google review
Excellent Food and Service, But Ambience Could Be Improved ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Selene offers a truly impressive culinary experience. The food was exquisite — refined, flavourful, and beautifully plated. Each dish felt thoughtful and rooted in Greek tradition with a modern touch. The service was equally exceptional: professional, friendly, and well-informed. However, the ambience didn’t quite live up to the same level. While the setting was pleasant, it lacked the atmosphere and charm we were hoping for, especially for a fine dining experience in Santorini. Still, the quality of the food and service easily make Selene a strong recommendation for any foodie visiting the island. Just don’t go expecting a dreamy or romantic setting.
Liran R — Google review
We visited Selene during our honeymoon and chose the <Half Moon> course menu (€175 per person, the least expensive option available). The atmosphere was wonderful — elegant, calm, and very romantic — and overall the staff were kind and attentive. The experience started strong with excellent bread and olive oil, which stood out even for us as people living in France. The first amuse-bouche was delicious, while the second was simply spinach — not unpleasant, but not memorable either. The first starter, <From Mani to Santorini with Love>, was truly outstanding — full of flavor, beautifully balanced, and a dish I would gladly order again if offered as a main. In contrast, <Mediterranean Triptych> was far too salty. When I gave this feedback politely, instead of the usual acknowledgment you’d expect in fine dining (“I’ll let the chef know”), our server simply said, “Oh, okay.” and walked away. The response felt surprisingly unprofessional and that left us both surprised. For my main, I had <Primavera — fish with artichoke confit, peas, and spinach>. Unfortunately, the sauce didn’t work for me — it clashed with the fish and made the dish difficult to enjoy, though it may just not have suited my personal taste. Desserts were creative, refreshing, and delicious. However, the mignardises that followed were deep-fried, heavy, and greasy, leaving the meal on a flat note instead of the light finish we had hoped for. With two-course menus, one pre-dinner drink each, and a glass of wine each, the total came to €450. While there were definite high points and we enjoyed the evening overall, the food often leaned toward experimentation without achieving true harmony. For the price, the experience felt unbalanced. It was good to experience once, but not something I would repeat or recommend.
Eva P — Google review
What a phenomenal dining experience! Every dish was a work of art—beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. A heartfelt thank you to the chef for the private presentation of the main course—it made the evening feel truly special. The service was exceptional, with special thanks to Alex and Maria for their warmth and attentiveness throughout. The only critique would be the pasta, which was a bit too salty for our taste, but everything else more than made up for it. Highly recommended for a fine dining experience that blends creativity with genuine hospitality!

We had such a beautiful night here celebrating our honeymoon. Our favorite night of our trip to Santorini! The service was amazing and the waiters and sommelier were so kind and punctual. The food was delicious and we felt the care and attention put into every bite! It was so romantic and luxurious and was worth every penny. It was a beautiful, elegant night and we were so glad we went.
Natalie C — Google review
The overall experience was incredible. We ordered the half moon with the triumph of the sea, a seafood pasta served with a bisque prepared on the table side. Our server was exceptional, and the food was delicious, even though it was quite expensive. However, the only part of the experience that was a bit disappointing was the yelling coming from the kitchen. The waiters seemed visibly shaken and upset, and it bothered me because I care deeply about culture, even the background details.

Specialty Museums
The Museum of Prehistoric Thera is a small but impressive archaeology museum located in the picturesque capital of Santorini, Thira. Divided into four units, the museum showcases ancient artifacts from different periods of the island's history, including the Late Neolithic to the Late Cycladic period and the mature Late Cycladic period.
Very good. Being indoors was a bonus so you're not in the sun! Found out afterwards that you can buy a ticket which includes the museum in Fira but the cost isn't too much when buying separately. Staff were very friendly. Unfortunately when we visited we were not able to walk between the ruins due to the earthquakes earlier in the year and the possibility of more but still an amazing visit.
Tom H — Google review
Beautiful! The frescoes are awe-inspiring. Good interpretation and lots to enjoy. I really enjoyed my visit to this museum!
Hannah S — Google review
An interesting, small museum — the visit will take less than an hour. The €10 entrance fee is greatly overpriced. There’s a toilet inside, but it’s poorly cleaned and has an unpleasant smell. The air conditioning barely works, making the halls stuffy, especially on the basement level. Nice place, but too expensive.
Anastasiya P — Google review
Great museum! All the artifacts nicely laid out with excellent lighting and descriptions in English. It was very neat to see the ancient artwork! Just be sure to also visit the ancient ruins in Akotiri. It pulls it altogether and completes the journey you will experience!
Lisa K — Google review
Great small museum (which is a plus, since there are a lot to do in Santorini) containing artifacts from Santorini's bronze age. The fresco excavated from the ancient Akrotiri are stunning and it's worth visiting the museum just to see them.
Andrey K — Google review
Fascinating museum that we went to the day after going to Akrotiri and so so saw the artifacts and wall paintings that were found at that site and referred to in the information boards around the site. Beautiful things, their homes must have been stunning - or at least those of the better off. The museum shows them off really well. Not huge - took us around an hour - but well worth seeing. Puts the site in context.

Skaros Rock is a centuries-old castle ruin perched on a rugged outcrop, offering breathtaking views of the Aegean Sea. This long-lost citadel in Santorini is a romantic and secluded spot to witness the mesmerizing sunset, steeped in the island's rich history and imposing atmosphere. Accessible via a steep track, it provides an ideal vantage point for admiring the glorious sunset.
Great little hike not for those who need assistance. It is a hiking trail that is at the bottom of a very steep set of concrete steps. I would estimate about 100 steps to get to the bottom so you can then transfer to a gravel trail. I loved the hike and the exercise it was excellent and absolutely what I anticipated.. I will just say that it is NOT for the folks who would need assistance.
Brian L — Google review
Lovely place to go for a short hike of roughly 60 minutes. The views from the rock are breathtaking and best to hike it in the morning (especially during hot summer months) when you get plenty of shaded area on the other side of the rock with lots of breeze thay feels quite refreshing. There is a lovely church on the back side and lots of amazing view points.
P S — Google review
I climbed Skaros Rock last year and again this year, right to the base of the summit. Below is the pretty Panagia Theoskepas Chapel. I wanted to reach the top of the rock, but I haven't found the access path yet. However, I regularly see people at the very top. Tourists without climbing gear! How do they manage? I would like to succeed. Despite everything, a beautiful landscape unfolds before us. Simply magnificent...
M-Francoise C — Google review
This is one of the best hiking trails in Santorini. It’s not very long but includes some ups and downs — part of the trail goes through village stairs and part over rugged terrain. The views are stunning, and on the rock itself, you can see the remains of an ancient fortress. A truly recommended hike!
Hila — Google review
A great hike that is definitely not for those in need to assistance. We walked from Santorini Princess so it was all in all good cardio. From actually starting the Skaros Rock trail to the second church in the other side of the point and back it took about 1 hour and another 1/2 hour for taking pictures, but my partner and I were setting a fast pace. BRING/WEAR TENNIS SHOES IF YOU WANT TO MAKE IT ARUBD THE ROCK TO THE SECOND CHURCH COMFORTABLY. Lots of stairs and lots of places to go off trail, and even up the rock if you are adventurous. Very beautiful hike!
Gaby O — Google review
Very nice hike to do early in the morning, before the Sun gets too far overhead, we didn't quite make sunrise, but we were only about an hour behind walk through the city down a secret stairway and descend down to skaros rock... I will highly recommend wearing some good. Hiking shoes or very good. Equipped running shoes with extra grip as the terrain is loose gravel and some pretty Steep inclines also some steep declines, so be prepared, have water and take breaks, but if you walk out all the way to the Inn, there is a little blue domed church that you cannot see from the city itself highly recommend taking this walk. Very quiet, very peaceful, exceptionally, beautiful. The only place we took a hike where you feel like you're out in the ocean closest point to the Volcano. Simply magic go now.
LAND R — Google review
Totally worth the hike down. Apparently used to be an epic Medieval castle that’s now ruins. A little sketchy in spots - be careful by the edges of course - but otherwise not that difficult to walk around. Great view inside the caldera and of the volcano. Bring some water for the hike back up 😅

A unique place in Santorini where one can watch the sunset avoiding the many tourists that infest the island. The area is recommended for photographers and for relaxation. It is advisable to visit it in the evening in summer months to avoid the extreme heat.

Volcano View is an upscale accommodation in Fira, Santorini, offering chic rooms with sea-view balconies, 3 outdoor pools, and a massage space. Guests at Villa Bordeaux can enjoy their private pool, elegant surroundings, al fresco dining, and stunning views of the Aegean Sea and the volcano. The hotel boasts state-of-the-art amenities and technological features for a memorable holiday experience.
We came here for the day when our cruise docked in Santorini. The concierge (Tina) was friendly and accommodating. She allowed us to use the pool while admiring the view for free. The view was breathtaking!!! Pictures don't do it justice. We didn't eat here but we did enjoy some cocktails by the guy at the bar (George). The food smelled amazing but we didn't have time. The service was incredible! I wish I was lucky enough to stay here for the night but I hope to come back. Thank you Volcano View hotel for your generosity!

Beautiful hotel nestled in the cliff side in Santorini! The rooms were lovely, the hotel grounds (and the view) incredible, and the staff warm, friendly, and very accommodating. The breakfast is delicious and offers a huge amount of variety, pretty much anything you can think of. And you can't beat the view from the restaurant. We also liked that the location was outside of Fira, away from the crazy, but there is a free shuttle going to town several times a day. There is a mini market and car rental place right across the street, and the workout facilities were great. Overall, I can't say enough good things about our experience. Would 100% go back!

Best hotel with the best view of the Caldera in Santorini. Excellent location and amazing staff. Worth the money and every corner of the property is pretty. Everyone raves about Oia n it's sunset view but in my opinion this hotel, and the restaurant has the best sunset view of the Caldera. It's conveniently located close to Fira. Very clean property with very good pools. One can never get tired of the amazing and breathtaking view.

We had a truly wonderful stay at Volcano View Hotel. The room was extremely comfortable with an incredible view that made our experience unforgettable. The breakfast was very good with a nice variety, and it was the perfect way to start each day. The staff were outstanding – so friendly and always ready to help. A special thanks to Maria and Christina at the reception, who shared so many details about the island and helped us plan our activities. Thanks to their guidance, we enjoyed an amazing cruise ride, which became one of the highlights of our trip. The restaurant team was equally warm and welcoming. Petros and Kostas in particular made our dining experience extra special with their kindness and attentive service. Another great convenience was the hotel’s shuttle service to the city, which made exploring Santorini so much easier. Thank you to the whole team at Volcano View Hotel you made our stay truly memorable. Wishing you all the very best!

They don’t honor the room cost price match posted on their website. I truly do not like leaving reviews for properties not based on room quality or service but this is not ok. On their reservations page on the website, they have a statement that says they will price match from other sites. I was reserving a large number of rooms for my wedding and so I preferred to book directly with the hotel and wrote them asking for the price match. Someone wrote me back basically saying that sites like booking.com and Expedia pay them what they have posted and are able to post lower prices because they take a cut out of their fees. While this may be a true business model, it has nothing to do with the price match. The rooms on the hotel website were at least $500 more for the cheapest room category , so this mattered a lot since we are covering these rooms ourselves. Sad because I really wanted to stay here for my wedding but I didn’t get a good feeling from that interaction and this is a big event. I ended up booking 28 rooms for 4 nights at another property for my guests.
Brittany M — Google review
Friendly and professional staff. The view from our room and on the terrace during breakfast and dinner could be in a magazine. The servers were knowledgeable and would check in on our table various times throughout our breakfast, and also recommend things to do during our visit. The breakfast buffet was plentiful, with many options and included hot drinks prepared by the barista. The only cons I would mention is the slight smell from the toilet (this was only noticeable when the seat was up) and the frequency of the shuttles to fira, seeing as it’s a 5 minute drive they could have offered more than 5 departures throughout the day. Regardless, would definitely book again (rooms are half price during office season, we paid $900 euros for 5 nights)

Title: Trip ruined by rude staff and false advertising! Do not stay here with family! We booked the Volcano View Hotel expecting a beautiful family trip to Santorini, having included all details about our child in the reservation. Our excitement turned into a nightmare on October 12, 2025, at noon, when we were told at reception that the main property is "adults-only." This crucial information was never mentioned during our booking process. The staff's attitude was completely unacceptable. Instead of trying to help, the lady at the desk was shockingly rude and unhelpful. She refused to speak to us properly and simply dismissed our family's ruined plans. After a long, stressful conversation, her "solution" was to put us in a sister property that had no caldera or volcano view—the very thing we booked for. The misrepresentation and lack of communication from Volcano View wasted a significant portion of our precious and limited time in Santorini. We spent hours dealing with this mess instead of enjoying our vacation. The fact that the hotel took our family booking and then rejected us upon arrival is a pathetic bait-and-switch. This hotel has shown a complete disregard for its guests and should not be trusted. The staff's unprofessionalism and the bait-and-switch tactics are inexcusable. We were left scrambling to find new accommodations and completely lost the relaxing, beautiful experience we had planned. Our Santorini trip was completely ruined by this hotel's incompetence. Save yourself the trouble and avoid this place at all costs, especially if you have a family.

I’m not typically the type to leave google reviews but I’d be remiss if I didn’t put out the good word about volcano view for any of those who are considering a stay here. From start to finish there wasn’t a single beat missed. The service was incredible at one of the highest levels I’ve experienced to date. I would reccomend this hotel to anyone and everyone traveling (to Santorini) for the first time and for experienced travelers as well; needless to say I’ll be returning next year. I’d like to give a special shoutout to George from the restaurant who was part of the hotel staff. He went above and beyond each and every day making our stay beyond comfortable as if we were at home. 10/10.

Nestled at the highest point of Santorini, Pyrgos Restaurant offers breathtaking views of the island. This former capital is adorned with traditional houses surrounding a Venetian castle and winding alleys. The village features several churches, including the impressive Monastery of Profitis Ilias atop the mountain. Often overshadowed by Fira or Oia, Pyrgos is a must-visit for its traditional charm and stunning vistas.
An Unforgettable Wedding Experience at Pyrgos Restaurant, Santorini We recently celebrated our daughter’s wedding at Pyrgos Restaurant in Santorini, and it was nothing short of magical. From the very first moment, the entire experience was flawlessly organized, leaving us with memories we will cherish forever. The event planning was impeccable — every detail was thoughtfully arranged, and the coordination was seamless. The team went above and beyond to ensure that everything ran smoothly, allowing us to fully enjoy the celebration without any stress. The cuisine was absolutely exquisite. Each dish was a masterpiece, beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. Our guests were delighted by the variety and quality of the food, which reflected the richness of Greek culinary tradition with a refined touch. The staff were truly exceptional — warm, attentive, and incredibly professional. Their genuine hospitality made us feel welcome and cared for throughout the entire event. It was clear that they take great pride in their work and in creating unforgettable experiences for their guests. And of course, the location of Pyrgos Restaurant is breathtaking. Nestled on a hill with panoramic views of the island and the Aegean Sea, it provided the perfect backdrop for a romantic and elegant celebration. The sunset views were simply spectacular and added a magical touch to the evening. We are deeply grateful to the entire Pyrgos team for making our daughter’s wedding a dream come true. We wholeheartedly recommend Pyrgos Restaurant to anyone looking for a truly special venue in Santorini. And last, but not least, I extend my heartfelt thanks for the incredible support in organizing the surprise with ABBA. Thanks to your help, the moment was filled with joy, emotion, and excitement — a magical experience that will remain in our hearts forever.

Do not get me wrong, this is a very nice place. My experience was fine. The tomato fritters here were the best I had in Greece. They were ridiculously good. But they basically only served meat, no alternative protein options which was a huge disappointment. The risotto they served us was fairly bland.

Had a great experience here on a cruise event, they had a buffet setup and a fun Greek dance show. Food tasted good and the house white wine was really mild but tasty.

Firstly I can only eat pescatarian when travelling as I am Muslim. They didn't have much pescatarian options but I opted for the grilled shrimp. First they give complimentary bread with dipping sauces. The bread was half stale. The crust was so hard it was difficult biting into it but the bread itself was soft and fluffy. I didn't personally like the tomato sauce they give it was too tart for me but the beetroot sauce was absolutely delicious. I have never tasted anything like it before. It paired perfectly with the bread. The grilled shrimp was a disappointment. The shrimp was overcooked. It was so chewy that it was inedible. I do not recommend getting it. The passion fruit lemonade mocktail was so good. I definitely recommend. I am a bit disappointed that it's the only mocktail they offer though. The views of this restaurant was so good. Honestly it's right out of a painting. The service was good my waitress was so kind and polite. However I did find the waiters rude to to the stray cats. Poor cats looked hungry and lonely

This was our first time visiting Santorini, and we came to this restaurant on our first night. The food quality and the wonderful service were so impressive that we chose to come back here again for our last night as well. If you’re looking for delicious food, a beautiful view, and excellent hospitality, I highly recommend trying this place.

The best restaurant in Santorini, absolutely MUST visit!!! The first time here we ordered the two first courses in the photo: “Skioufihta” Cretan pasta with slow cooked veal cheeks and Orzo with crayfish, both very delicious. We were so satisfied that had decided to come back the last evening before the departure. Of course, the meat was amazing. We also ordered the dessert, we highly recommend the cheesecake. The staff is extremely kind, always available and ready to accommodate every guest's request. The location is breathtaking and romantic, with a panoramic view. Very happy I was here. Thank you for everything!!!

Penelope's Ouzeri in Pyrgos Santorini is a charming and traditional restaurant run by a Greek woman named Penelope. It's located in an idyllic spot, offering a cozy and homey atmosphere that makes you feel like you're dining in your grandmother's kitchen. The restaurant is known for serving delicious Greek cuisine, making it a favorite dining spot for many visitors.
Even if you just have a few hours, this is a must eat/drink treat. Penelope’s is “on the path” in the upper level of Pyrgos and is an amazing hidden gem. Salads are fresh from the garden and breathtakingly good. The staff and owners are amazing and you’ll feel you’re amongst friends the moment you sit down. This spot can’t be missed.

The best restaurant in Pyrgos, if not all of Santorini! The ratatouille style dish was so rich in flavor, the fig and honey dessert was outstanding as well, using mainly locally sourced ingredients. Location wise, you couldn’t ask for a better view! The owner (if I’m not mistaken) was super friendly and really wanted me to enjoy my meal 😄

We ate at this restaurant during our visit to Pyrgos. Even though we had booked for a different time, the staff was incredibly accommodating, allowing us to delay our reservation while keeping the same table with a wonderful view of the town. Everything we ate was excellent, and the staff was kind and friendly. Absolutely recommended if you’re in the area!

I’d read that this was the place to try the best tomatokeftedes (tomato fritters) in Santorini, so I decided my first experience should be here. While I don’t have others to compare to, I do know great food, and it’s easy to believe these are the best. The texture was light and crispy, full of flavor, with a lovely hint of fresh mint. The accompanying tzatziki was also the best I’ve had in my six days in Santorini, creamy and more flavorful than any other I’ve tried. Another highlight was the fries - fresh-cut and perfectly cooked. All the other dishes were delicious as well - the dolmades (the filling was softer than others I’ve had but still very tasty), the eggplant dip (a mousse-style puree with a nice smokiness), and the Greek salad (very fresh). I can’t speak to the main courses, but if you’re visiting Pyrgos and want a meal or filling meze-style snack with picturesque views in a charming indoor-outdoor setting, I highly recommend this spot. The only note - plates are on the pricier side.

We had an incredible experience at Penelope’s Ouzeri. The view was absolutely stunning — truly one of the best spots to take in the island’s charm. Our server was exceptionally kind, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. He also took time to chat with us about the area’s history and answered all our questions about the nearby landmarks. It felt like we were dining with a local friend. Highly recommend this place for both the food and the warm hospitality!

The food was delicious! We had coffee frappe, the yogurt was mega delicious, the eggs with tomatoes were super yummy, the bread was on point, and the veggies in the omelette were very fresh and extremely well prepared. Valia, who was our waitress, is super nice and helped us with all our questions! We will definitely come back and eat here again!

We ate here on our last night on our honeymoon and it was hands down the best experience in Pyrgos. Johnny was our server and he was very hospitable and every dish we ordered was a 10/10. Snag a table for sunset and you won’t be disappointed!

Mama's Restaurant & Wine Bar is a charming Greek eatery located in Fira, offering a delightful rooftop dining experience with bright and airy outdoor seating. The restaurant is known for its romantic ambiance and Mediterranean-style dishes such as tzatziki and seafood, all bursting with flavor that keeps guests coming back for more. Visitors highly recommend the grilled chicken, green salad, chicken pasta, lamb shank, omelets with spinach and feta cheese for breakfast, and the flavorful meatballs.
We were directed here by our tour guide and felt rushed to take a seat (by her, not the staff)! Once we were settled in and waited on, we were definitely glad to have enjoyed our first taste of Santorini at this wonderful restaurant. The owner was extremely friendly and spoke with us often. Watching him work and interact with his staff and the guests was like watching a well oiled machine! The food was absolutely fantastic!

This is one of the most beautiful restaurants I've been too. Service is excellent. Very kind and humorous. The drinks were phenomenal. I was a little disappointed in the main entrees. The steak I ordered was a little bland. The shrimp tempora made up for it, though. Sat in the rooftop balcony and watched the sunset over the mountains. Gorgeous views. Would definitely recommend trying this restaurant!

We had an absolutely wonderful dining experience at Mama’s! The service was excellent—our wait staff, Andreas and Alex, went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. They were attentive, friendly, and made us feel so welcome. I ordered the Greek moussaka, which was rich, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. My husband had the meatballs with mashed potatoes, and he couldn’t stop raving about how delicious and comforting the dish was. From the warm hospitality to the outstanding food, everything exceeded our expectations. We will definitely be coming back and highly recommend Mama’s to anyone visiting the area!

This place is all about the aesthetics! The food was mediocre at best and there was nothing special about the service. The octopus was delicious. The salmon was bland. The lamb shank didn't even compare to the one had at black sand beach in Santorini. A one and done restaurant.

Mama's was such a delightful stop for lunch. The staff at the front are very helpful and do not pressure you to enter. We were able to get a table on their beautiful rooftop garden - stunning set up and view. Aesthetics and vibes of relaxation. Food was lovely and you definitely get your moneys worth. The service was also fantastic. We had a charming server named Andreas who was very attentive and kind - even let me practice my Greek! I would definitely recommend visiting Mama's if you're in Fira! 😊

The restaurant has a beautiful decor and excellent service. It’s located in the center, making it a good option for a late dinner, but not ideal for watching the sunset. We ordered the Santorini salad, cheese rolls with honey, chicken souvlista, and linguine pasta with shrimp and quinces. The chicken tasted different from other places, with what seemed like tandoori spices. As for the pasta, it was absolutely delicious. I also had their best selling drink (forget what they called it) it was very refreshing.
Mohamed B — Google review
We had some of the best Greek food here with exceptional service. We ordered the Santorini salad and bread. It was amazing! I am particular about which types of tomatoes I like so I was skeptical, but, it was delicious & a perfect starter. Then, we ordered the pork Kebab meat plate. The meat was perfect. My daughter ordered the seafood pasta dish and we didn’t love it as much. We enjoyed our meal upstairs on the outdoor balcony and it was perfect!
Lati M — Google review
Mama's was recommended to us by our guide when we meandered past it on our tour of Santorini. We remembered the mention and retraced our steps after the guide bid us farewell. It was lunch time and the patio seating was almost empty, so no waiting. All the staff we interacted with were friendly and helpful. The patio is a magical shaded spot with palms draped in fabric to form a canopy to keep the sun off you while you enjoy the breeze. And then the food! It was recommended that we try tomatokeftedes (tomato fritters) while we were in Greece and they had them on the menu! They are absolutely delicious and might have been my favorite part of the meal! But all the food was spectacular -- we had fava dip, a stellar gyro plate, and grilled octopus. My husband even tried grappa (he was not a fan) while I had a lemoncello (which I heartily enjoyed). If you're in Santorini, definitely put Mama's on the top of your restaurant list.

Cava Alta is a charming restaurant located in Pyrgos, Santorini, known for its delicious food and lovely views of the village. The restaurant is nestled in an old winery building with a small outdoor eating area and a stylish indoor dining space. It offers a modern Greek and Mediterranean menu. Visitors can enjoy magical Santorini sunsets from the rooftop, but it's recommended to book in advance for the best tables.
Every dish was a quiet explosion—flavors deep, deliberate, unforgettable. The kind of meal that makes you pause mid-bite, look at your partner, and just nod. We didn’t speak much—we were too busy falling in love with the food. This place doesn’t serve dinner; it serves moments. The best we’ve ever had in Greece.

We actually found out about the restaurant through television. Luckily! It was a true delight, from appetizer to dessert. We were truly thrilled. My personal highlights were the dumplings with shrimp and the cheesecake (I don't usually like them, but this one was incredibly delicious!!). The location, the wine, and the lovely lady who served us rounded out the perfect overall impression. Unbeatable value for money. Thank you. ♥️

This was a nice little restaurant is Pyrgos. The atmosphere in the rooftop was nice with good views of the area. The food was enjoyable, but the meatballs were a tad too salty. The pork belly was very good, but a side other than French fries would have been preferable. The service was amazing and overall, this is a nice place to stop by for a meal.

A must stop! The food was amazing, Greek food with a modern twist. We highly recommend the shrimp burger, pizza with prosciutto and fig, and salad. I recently booked this cooking class in Santorini for a group of influencers as part of a work trip, and I have nothing but great things to say about the experience!! The team was extremely responsive and accommodating throughout the planning process. The class itself was a highlight of the trip! The food was exceptional, the setting was beautiful and thoughtfully curated, and the entire group had a fantastic time. This is truly a one-of-a-kind experience that I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Santorini. A sincere thank you to the team for all their support, and for kindly sharing the recipes afterward so we could try recreating the dishes at home! Thank you so much team Agaze!!!

We had dinner at Agaze and we were very happy with the food and service. The pizza was excellent and I would highly recommend trying it along with Agaze Souvlaki which is probably the best pork I’ve ever eaten. All main dishes come with a wine recommendation as well so if you enjoy wine I urge you to do so. If you have room left at the end of your meal ask for the desert of the day. If you’re lucky and they have their Baklava with a twist (syrup coated fyllo with pistachio ice cream and pistachio brittle on top) don’t hesitate to get it. Finally the service was great and our waitress, Ksanthipi made sure we had a good time and offered us suggestions about things to see and do during our stay.

The Athenian House is a top culinary destination in Santorini, located in Imerovigli with stunning sunset views of the caldera. It offers a relaxed and refined atmosphere and is known for its Michelin-starred chef Jero Serres' creations. The restaurant has received multiple awards and is listed among the 50 best restaurants in the world.
One word: Spectacular! Wow I couldn’t be happier to pick this place for our Honeymoon Dinner in Santorini. The Sunset view is to die for. Simply breathtaking. Every single dish in the course was amazing, on top of the music and excellent customer service. This will forever be in my memory as one of the best dining experience. Highly recommended!

My husband and I had the Heritage Tasting celebration dinner with champagne at the Athenian House in late May 2025 for our 30th Anniversary. The view was absolutely gorgeous and we got some great sunset photos taken by our waiter. The food was delicious and presentation fantastic. The service however was lacking at times. It was obvious the staff were busy. We were sitting next to other Americans who talked loudly with their neighbors, while we were trying to enjoy a quiet evening, at an expensive restaurant. However, it is understandable why the tables are close together. The view and food are well worth it!

Amazing food and service. It’s our first night of our Santorini Honeymoon and we just enjoyed it so much. The staff and service are outstanding and the flavors are on point. You have to try the desserts which are delicious and very extraordinary. The vibes and music during and after sunset were also impeccable. The owner of the restaurant was around and treated us like royalty. Overall full 5 stars.

I recently visited The Athenian House in Santorini, and while the setting was absolutely stunning, the food left much to be desired. The location and atmosphere are beyond compare — perched above the caldera with an unforgettable sunset view, it’s one of the most breathtaking dining spots on the island. The ambiance is elegant and romantic, perfect for a special evening. The service was exceptional — attentive, polite, and professional. The staff went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable and enjoyed our time. However, the food was disappointing. Despite the beautiful presentation, the flavors were underwhelming and did not live up to the restaurant’s reputation or price point. The portions were small, and for the cost, I expected a far more memorable dining experience. Overall, The Athenian House is worth visiting for the view, atmosphere, and service, but not for the food itself. It’s a place where the scenery outshines the cuisine.
Roshauna L — Google review
We went to multiple “fine dining” restaurants in Santorini and this was the only one that was truly of that standard. The food is very good (entrees are a bit small though). The service by the majority of staff was top notch, except for the manager (a guy, he was very rude and not friendly). I’ve given it 5 stars but it’s more like 4.5 (at best) Book for sunset, otherwise it gets too quiet and cold. It’s a great view, however, their tables positioned bit odd (one person with their back to the view, rather than sitting next to each other) Cocktails are great, recommend to jubilee. For food, recommend anything with shrimp as they were the better dishes. Desserts were not that good.
Alex D — Google review
Our favorite spot from the entire trip! The beef carpaccio and shrimp appetizer were absolutely amazing. The fish of the day was perfectly cooked—so tender and beautifully seasoned. And the seafood pasta? Hands down the BEST seafood pasta I’ve ever had! We ended the meal with the most incredible baklava—flaky, sweet, and unforgettable. What made everything even better was the outstanding service. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming—they truly made the whole experience extra special.

First night we had dinner at five sense and it’s was phenomenal there so we were excited and had high expectations for this restaurant. Unfortunately it was quite disappointing, the food portions were super tiny and not good and our meal was over 3 hours long- dishes took at least 10-20 mins in between. They’re trying to be a Michelin star restaurant but falling short in every way. Wish we had saved our last meal for the Michelin restaurant next door. Their star or main dish that their known for which is lamb moussaka, the lamb was very dry! Also I didn’t take a picture of the calamari but the size was about my thumbnail - my husband will still hungry after his 8 course tasting which was $180 euros. Overall we would not come back. The view is nice but that’s all they have going for it.

Ancient Thera is an ancient mountaintop city located on Messa Vouno Mountain, accessible by a challenging hike from the village of Kamari. The city features magnificent archaeological artifacts, including an Agora and a main square, with streets leading to temple grounds, houses, and other facilities. The trek offers enchanting views of the sea and the island. Despite its overcast weather at times, it remains captivating. Visitors can explore historical ruins while taking in the breathtaking scenery.
Superb to see ancient archaeology so well preserved. Nice to wander freely through the ruins. The signs provided useful historic details. The walk up is a little rugged so wear good footwear.
Greg B — Google review
When here you must experience this historical site. Sort of blows your mind to think about what it’s witnessed over the years and here we are blessed with its reverence here today. A trek up a winding road, vehicle recommended and not for the inexperienced driver - very narrow and if you meet other vehicles be prepared to reverse against a sheer drop if heading up. A longish trek at the top to the site itself, hard going and sensible footwear needed. NOT for the unfit or less able.
Martin ( — Google review
The €10 ticket price is too high. There are no restrooms and the park is quite large. There are no informational brochures or audio guides. The information signs and benches should be renovated — or the ticket price should be reduced.
Anastasiya P — Google review
Visiting Ancient Thera was a fascinating and rewarding experience. The mountaintop location offers stunning panoramic views, and the ruins give an incredible glimpse into life in ancient Greece. It’s truly a must-see for history lovers. To make the site even more accessible and enjoyable, it would be helpful to add more resting spots or benches along the paths. This would allow older visitors or those with physical limitations to explore the large site more comfortably. Additionally, informative signs or even a holographic presentation showing daily life in Ancient Thera could greatly enhance the educational value and attract a wider audience. Overall, an inspiring place that brings history to life—highly recommended!

Open Air Cinema Kamari is a unique outdoor theater located at the entrance of Komari Town in Santorini. It offers a one-of-a-kind movie experience under the open sky, with films shown in English and Greek subtitles. Surrounded by trees, this cinema provides a tranquil setting for enjoying new releases, Hollywood blockbusters, cult classics, and Greek award-winners. Visitors can also indulge in local beer, wine, cocktails, ice-cream, and snacks from the on-site bar.
Fantastic experience for my family of 5. Place was clean, well lit and comfortable. It was also almost sold out so make sure you get here at least a half hour early. Be aware that they only take cash, 10 euros pp. Also, they have a canteen that serves food throughout the movie.

Amazing experience! We watched the Mamma Mia movie and it was a lot of fun! The venue looked great and well maintained. The only disappointment was that they only accept cash. It’s hard to believe that in the 21st century you can’t pay by card. That’s the only reason I can’t give them 5 stars.
Marek S — Google review
We had a good time here. A really interesting experience. You have to come earlier to stay in line, because they have only 180 seats available. The prices from the printed menu were smaller than what we paid in the end. Not sure if they did not updated the prices in the menu yet or is common.
Bogdan M — Google review
Loved it - we saw ‘one battle after another’ and it was excellent. It was very cold (went early October) and there were no blankets available - so make sure to layer up! Entrance is €10 per person (cash only) and we got two cocktails, two beers and some chocolate for €33 - thought it was very reasonably priced and a great experience.
Ella D — Google review
Fantastic night watching mama mia here, really good atmosphere and nice to see it so busy. Food snd drinks reasonable prices, the mojito was lovely and fresh in the warm evening breeze. Really cool how people got up and sang and danced at the end of the film too,a real fun evening.
Louise P — Google review
We stayed in Akrotiri and just like many many others we rented a car. Point being - try not to miss coming here whether you’re in Oia, Fari or elsewhere on the Island. This is a perfect evening getaway for couples. Parking might be an issue, though. But if you’re early enough, you’ll find one. We paid €10 p/p for tickets and enjoyed some drinks for standard Santorini prices.

Beautiful little piece of magic. Served food and drinks and very reasonable also hot drinks .I loved it

I am a fan. This theater was amazing! TIPS: Come early so you can sit together and make sure to bring cash as they don’t accept card! We saw Mama Mia which was amazing on its own! If the owners could reach out to me I would love to ask you a specific question about the place 😉

Nestled atop the highest peak of Santorini, Moni Profiti Ilia is a captivating monastery that dates back to 1711. Perched at an impressive 565 meters above sea level, it offers visitors breathtaking panoramic views that truly showcase the island's unique beauty. Although it suffered some damage during the earthquake in 1956, there’s still much to appreciate here. The journey to this serene spot is delightful, whether you choose to drive or take a guided tour.
One of the highlights of Santorini – breathtaking views! Moni Profiti Ilia was without a doubt one of the best spots we visited on the island. The panoramic views from the top are absolutely stunning , you really get a sense of how unique Santorini is from up here. It’s definitely worth going early in the day, as it gets quite busy later on with tour buses arriving. Luckily, there’s a small vending machine for cold drinks and water, and some basic toilet facilities near the chapel. A peaceful and impressive place, especially if you catch it before the crowds. Highly recommended!
Sid C — Google review
Beautiful place for a stunning view of the island. A bit adventurous to get on top of, but with a car it is manageable. Make sure to dress modestly as it is a place of worship, but to enter the chapel they will also provide you with a cover.
Mir I — Google review
I’m not sure why it’s not that much promoted as a tourist destination. No one told us about this spot. We simply googled it and being close to religion, we set our sight on it. We were stunned by the view this location offers. We have visited the premises of the monastery around 4pm. Had to wait at their shop until 5pm. This is when the gates open for visitors for the evening service. And it closes at 6pm.
Romeo Z — Google review
Walked here from Pyrgos and experienced the four horsemen of the apocalypse encompassing pestilence density snails, warlike wild dogs, famine annoying flies, and deathly cars along the road to reach the haven of the Monastery at the very top. The monastery chapel is a small, private space that is beautiful in its own way. The monks run a small shop next to the chapel. Everything in there is grown and harvested by the monks. You’ll find treats like olive oil, Vinsanto wine, dried figs, sun dried tomatoes and caper leaves to sample. The store attendant Nikos is a great guy. The monks planted more than 2000 olive trees around Santorini. On the climb up, you can see them on the hillside near the monastery, rooted deeply in the pumice dust, which imparts the burning acrid taste of fresh, top-quality healthful tartaric acid to the olive oil they make. Walked back to Pyrgos, with the sunset, alongside the most amazing views. No signs of the horsemen anywhere. It was peace.
Laura B — Google review
We went here on a bus tour of the island. It was interesting but small. Our guide said if you want to see inside the Monastery you can only do so on July 20th. What we did get to see was cool though, and as this is the highest point on the island the views were insane! You could see the whole island and many neighboring islands, including Crete, from up there!
Beth O — Google review
Must see, especially for the view. This is the highest point in Sabtorini, and with a clear sky you can see Fira, Oia and the nearby islands. Easy to get here with a car. Nice to go from Kamari via the hiking trail.

Prophet Elias Monastery is a truly special place with a serene and peaceful atmosphere. Its location on one of the highest points of Santorini offers breathtaking views over the island and the sea. The monastery itself holds great historical and spiritual significance, making it well worth a visit. Naturally, it is also a popular tourist attraction, but despite the crowds, the beauty and tranquility of the surroundings make it a memorable

If you're seeking breathtaking views of Santorini, the Prophet Elias Lookout Point is a must-visit. Accessible via the Prophet Elias Trail that begins in Pyrgos village, this moderately challenging hike rewards you with stunning panoramas from the island's highest point. The serene atmosphere of the nearby monastery adds to its charm, offering a peaceful retreat where visitors can enjoy refreshing breezes and picturesque gardens. Inside and out, you'll find incredible photo opportunities against a backdrop of mountains and sea.
The highest point from the island is really impressive. Can get a little bit busy since there are cars, people and busses everywhere but a nice panoramic view. I imagine the sunset here must be amazing

Great spot to watch sunset with a view for the entire island . Accessible by car our scooter . For me I prefer a car as you can enjoy the view from the comfort of your chair . I visited in mid September it was a bit windy . Otherwise a great peaceful spot .
Mohanad E — Google review
One of my favorite places in Santorini. I was told about this place by an honest tour leader and you get 360 degree panorama view of the whole island. Dont waste your sunset view from other parts. here is the best.
Milad — Google review
There are fantastic views from almost the entire island, and you can take beautiful pictures. We were on a tour, and the lady said we couldn't enter the monastery. There is a lower entrance, though, that you can visit, but not inside the primary binding. You can take pictures from outside of the gate with the bells.
Júlio S — Google review
A beautiful spot to see the sunset on the hill. It isn't crowded, but please bring a jacket as it is super windy and can get cold, especially if you are driving a scooter or ATV.

Very nice view. Is the highest point in Santorini and from there you can see all around the island. There is a very tiny monastery with a different build compaired with all other churches on the island - is not white with blue. We also spent some minutes looking at planes leaving and arriving at the airport.

(Translated by Google) This monastery is pleasant and quiet, there is no entrance fee. Its elevated location also allows you to enjoy the freshness, especially during hot weather. The monastery, the garden and the views are worth visiting, it's really very pretty. Both outside and inside the monastery the views are superb which allows for very beautiful photos! A small shop also allows you to do some shopping, particularly for olive oil, capers and even samphire. A place not to be missed during a trip to Santorini.

Amazing view to look over the whole santorini it was so good, very nice monastery and it's definitely a must to visit. The view it's amazing and it's worth. It is the highest point in santorini, and it could be windy. You can by local produce and things and relax and explore, there is a little church ⛪️ to visit which absolutely beautiful.

A monumental place to visit in santorini. It happened to be a day when the celebration of Prophet Elias was on when we visited and we got to see few minutes of the celebration. The lookout point up the hill was beautiful and you get an amazing view of the whole island of Santorini. The monastery is really beautiful, the temple was amazing and we took lovely pictures with the view of the mountains, sea and sun. It was a beautiful experience.

Highest point on the island so there are expansive views everywhere. Parking is limited. Restrooms were not open during our visit and neither was the monastery. The small church, garden, gift shop and view point was open.

Santorini caldera

Volcano
Santorini caldera is a mostly submerged volcanic crater with quaint hillside lodging, boat tours, and panoramic seaside views. Nea Kameni, also known as Nea Kaimeni, is the volcano at the center of the caldera. It began forming around 1570 and is the most recently created land section in the Mediterranean Sea. The area covers 340 hectares with its highest point at 127 meters above sea level.
My visit to Santorini Island in August 2010 was nothing short of spectacular! 🌟 This beautiful island is a true gem in the Aegean Sea, renowned for its stunning sunsets, unique architecture, and breathtaking landscapes. From all the places I've traveled to, Santorini holds a special place in my heart for its sheer beauty and charm. The island's iconic white-washed buildings with blue domes are perched on cliffs overlooking the crystal-clear waters of the sea 🌊. Walking through the narrow, winding streets of towns like Oia and Fira, you can't help but be captivated by the picturesque views at every turn. The sunsets here are legendary, painting the sky with vibrant hues of orange, pink, and purple as the sun dips below the horizon 🌅. Santorini's beaches are also unique and beautiful. The Red Beach, with its striking red cliffs and sands, and the black sand beaches of Kamari and Perissa offer a distinctive and memorable beach experience 🏖️. The contrast between the dark volcanic sands and the clear blue waters is truly mesmerizing. Exploring the island, you’ll find numerous charming shops, cafes, and restaurants. The local hospitality is warm and welcoming, making you feel right at home. While wandering the streets, don’t miss out on the local crafts and souvenirs that capture the essence of Santorini. The island is also rich in history and culture. A visit to the ancient city of Akrotiri, often referred to as the "Minoan Pompeii," provides a fascinating glimpse into the island's past. The archaeological site is well-preserved and offers an intriguing look at life in ancient times. Getting around Santorini is easy, whether you choose to rent a car, take local buses, or simply walk around the charming towns. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes, as some areas can be quite hilly and require a bit of climbing. 🏞️🚶‍♂️ If you’re looking for a destination that combines natural beauty, rich history, and a touch of romance, Santorini Island is the perfect choice. 🌴🌺 From solo travelers to couples and families, there's something for everyone to enjoy. I can't wait to return to Santorini and create even more unforgettable memories.

Favorite place on the planet. Inspriring views at every turn of the corner. Yes, it is crowded too. And there's a good reason for that. There is no island in the world like this place, so people come in droves. And when you visit once, you leave thinking and planning of the day you'll return again. You can't help it.

The caldera, now mostly submerged, filled with water from the Mediterranean. Some parts over 1,000 feet deep. Cliffs emerge throughout the crescent of Santorini. Matchless views. Spectacular sunsets.

Justin C — Google review
The most beautiful and peaceful experience ever. We were on a lovely catamaran with private chef, captain and personal tour guide. The meal was exquisite with bottomless wine 🥂, the Greek salad 🥗 was so fresh the hues of green, red and purple that caused me to salivate! The feta was incomparable to what we buy here in the states! The red beach iron stained hues from ancient volcanic eruption was captivating. The hot springs with snorkeling and pockets of warm water felt amazing!

It is a must visit place in Santorini. The place is so beautiful near the sea. You can go there by ferries from Santorini port which takes about 1-1.25 hours and about 30-35 minutes while driving from Santorini. There are good stores for buying different merchandise of Greece. There you can visit at afternoon and can enjoy sunset before leaving.

Gyro restaurant
Gyros Place is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Greek cuisine on a budget. The restaurant offers delicious gyros and souvlaki, which are not only affordable but also fast and flavorful. The generous serving sizes make it an excellent value for money, with the mixed gyros being particularly popular due to its large portion. Visitors can enjoy their meals at the outdoor seating area, perfect for soaking in the Santorini atmosphere.
If you want a proper and tasty gyros, both in pita and as a plate, I have to recommend this place. Excellent gyros at a fair price. The service is friendly. We visited quite often, and when we’re on the island again, we’ll definitely come back. Highly recommended :-) Unfortunately, I don’t have more photos, because everything disappeared from the plate immediately.

Fantastic service and food. We were there quite regular for lunch and dinner. Gyros in pita is very tasty and filling, mixed grill is great for sharing. Beer served in iced glass so very refreshing. It's very popular so lunch or dinner times can be very busy but take-away is also available.

Pentozali is a local favorite restaurant run by two friends from Crete, offering authentic hot and cold mezedes along with raki, house wine, and beer. The shaded patio and friendly staff create a welcoming atmosphere. While reservations are not necessary, there may be a short wait for a table. Visitors have enjoyed the homemade food at great prices, with some recommending dishes like orzo pasta with stewed beef and tomatoes or black peas with spinach.
Lovely outdoor setting, relaxed, beautiful and mostly locals. The black-eyed peas with spinach, chickpeas dish, truffle cheese and potato omelette were very flavorful. The mixed green salad was fresh and tasty! Loved the ice cream flavors as well.

From farm to plate. Most amazing pork meat. Cooking but specialty the quality. The pork meat stew with white cabbage had a work of this word texture juiciness and taste. The smoked pork with thyme was excellent, exotic and so pleasant to combine with White House wine. Service is very familiar, polite and fast. The restaurant is open in the evening and you can sit under pine trees and a rubber tree.

Ran into this place while in the neighborhood and loved it! The waitress gave us some strong recommendations, and it was fairly healthy with several beans and lentil options that were delicious. Recommend the black peas with spinach, salad (forgot which one), and the omelette! The potatoes that came with the pork belly was actually more tasty than the pork belly.

Excellent and very attentive service!! And very quick! Plenty of space, so one sits very comfortably! For these two reasons I would definitely recommend it, especially if I have to compare it with the two places right before arriving at the center of Pyrgos which are always overcrowded. For the food, I am left with the impression that the description of the dishes on the menu was better than the actual taste of them. Maybe the cook had a bad day and it’s not the norm. The cocktails were great!

We decided to try this restaurant as it was the closest one to our hotel after we flew in, and we weren't disappointed. We had the eggplant appetizer, which was very flavorful and delicious. I had the Slovaki chicken and corn, which was tasty with a nice balance of flavors. We also had the pasta dish with goat meat, which was also very good. The service was amazing and the view even more so.

During our four week visit to Pyrgos, we discovered this “on the path” but nearly hidden brunch, lunch and dinner spot. What a great find. Breakfast was great, and the outdoor seating is amazing. Just off the main drive and a few steps down from the walking path, you’ll find indoor and outdoor seating that is family and kid friendly. Highly recommend the butter broccoli and sharing other small plates.

This was our first dinner spot in Santorini and it was absolutely divine! We had the Ceviche, the Spread Platter, and Meatballs in a tomato based sauce. All the food was amazing but standout was the meatballs. The best meatballs we have ever had! We sat outside which was beautiful looking out at the water, great atmosphere, super lovely host and also reasonable prices. Would highly recommend this place.

Came here because of the positive reviews but was left a bit dissapointed. The salad and the appetizers were quite good but the main courses felt underwhelming. The lady on the service was very kind and helpful however the general vibe and atmosphere towards clients felt indifferent. Unfortunately with many and better options nearby I cannot recommend this restaurant.

Amazing view, excellent and creative food, great service! A six-star rating for the tomato with basil sorbet starter, the main lobster which was executed at perfection and the peach dessert which was a great way to finish our dinner. Great selection of wine too. It’s a fine dining, so more expensive than a regular restaurant, but worth it!

Once in a lifetime experience and can’t imagine there is a better restaurant on the island.

Art Space Art Gallery - Winery - Museum is a historic winery on the island of Santorini, known for its high-quality wines made using traditional methods and unique technologies. The owner, Mr. Antonis Argyros, has developed a special grape-growing method to ensure top-notch quality. The winery prides itself on producing biological, organic products without any chemicals or filters.
I WISH I COULD GIVE IT MORE STARS. THE BEST WINERY EXPERIENCE!! I’ve no words to describe how memorable and lovely the experience was. I’ve been to quite a few wineries but this one will always be one for the books. The primary reason is the owner and the people working here. We had the honor of meeting this beautiful soul and the owner, Mr. Antonio, a 76-year old passionate entrepreneur. His father and ancestors have been in the wine making business. It was amazing to see the pictures there of his family back from the days before is born. Arts Space is neither your regular winery nor commercial; it’s a place driven by passion and creativity with a mix of wine-making and out of the world art pieces (most created by a Greek artist exclusively for Arts Space). The tour continued to be provided by Esmeralda, a lovely lady working with this place for years. She explained the wines very well and even offered us a tasting of an exclusive organic wine which is not a part of the wine tasting. Each of the 7 wines during the tasting were exquisite, I personally fell in love with the dessert wine.

Lovely, kind people and a very cute place. Such a unique experience here; I really feel like we got an authentic look into the traditional winery business of Santorini. The owner was so friendly and happily hosted us. Definitely recommend calling ahead for an appointment to ensure they have time/space for you, as the tasting space is somewhat small. Be sure to check out the art!

Favorite place in Santorini, if I could give more stars I would! A reservation is normally needed but we showed up without one and let us do a tasting anyway(I would recommend making one anyway in case they are busy). Art Space was the definition of hospitality and kindness. The art work is very beautiful and the wines are fantastic! Their VinSanto in the best I’ve had. Very fun and engaging tasting and their level 3 sommelier was a pleasure to learn from. If you want to get away from the touristy areas then this is the place. Easy 5 minute walk from ExoGonia bus stop.
John H — Google review
The tour felt rushed, less than 10 minutes in the gallery and about 15 minutes for the wine tasting. Overall for the price of 25 euros, it was underwhelming and didn’t offer much insight into winemaking. If you're actually interested in learning about wine and its history, the nearby Wine Museum is a much better choice. This visit felt more like a quick commercial stop than a meaningful experience.

We had an incredible experience at Art Space Winery! Esmeralda was just fantastic — her English was excellent, and she explained everything about the history of the winery, the art, and the wines in such an engaging way. The setting is unique, blending the charm of old Santorini wine caves with a beautiful art gallery. The wines themselves were delicious, and we left with a much deeper appreciation for Santorini’s winemaking tradition. Highly recommend this stop if you’re visiting the island!

Our favorite winery on the island, and doubles as a great art studio featuring local and international artists. The tour was good and the wine tasting was great! The tour is free and the wine tasting is only 20€ for 6 wines, some graviera cheese, and bread. The Mezzo dessert wine is must-try!
Nicholas F — Google review
Lovely experience! Christos from Black Pearl took us to Art Space, where we got a private tour of the space and enjoyed looking at art and drinking awesome wines. We tasted 7-8 different types of wine, while learning about the history of wine/ agriculture in Greece. The aesthetics of this place is rustic and stunning at the same time. Love the vibe and culture of the establishment. Thank you! P.S. This red wine called Mezzo is so sweet and perfect for anyone who loves a delicious candy-sweet red wine. I had to buy one to bring back to the U.S. I may order more directly from Art Space!

Wonderful tour given by owner. The winery has been is his family for generations. Learned a lot about how they make wine, ouzo, and raki (rah ki). Beautiful property with art and great views. Recommend if you want a wine tasting experience focusing on quality wines and history of Santorini winemaking.

The Santorini Cable Car is an essential experience for anyone visiting this stunning Greek island. This gondola ride effortlessly connects the bustling town of Fira to the picturesque Old Port below, making it a fantastic alternative to navigating the steep stairs or opting for donkey rides. In just about three minutes, passengers are treated to breathtaking views of the Aegean Sea and the iconic whitewashed buildings that cling to the cliffs.
Way better than walking up or down. Only took cash when I went. 10 € per person each way.
Joshua S — Google review
Lovely views of La caldera…. I took the steps going down to the harbour was a big mistake, so my plan was to take back the cable car was the best decision ever. I think is a bit expensive for time of the ride. 2 mins €6, queues can be up to 2 hours if you have a cruise mooring in Santorini. The old harbour is small you will expect to be crowded. But I was lucky I took the cable car around 5.30pm the lines were 15 mins
Ljubica B — Google review
staff rude and not helpful who guides you to the cars .. I cannot sit backwards and staff even not bothered to listen … so what you will do if I faint inside the car? though team in the cash desk are nice and polite giving 5 stars only because I work myself in hospitality and not fair of one person to put all experience as bad you can pay card and cash one way
Jovita — Google review
The cable car is reopened from today 15 of May. Nonstop running till 22:00.

I thought this really added to the experience of visiting Santorini. We had 3 kids and really loved it, was quite an exhilarating trip up the cliff and was a real highlight of a day with many highlights. We were there on a day with two large cruise ships and ours was an hour late arriving. The lineup was not that bad, probably a 20min wait which is quicker than walking up the hill. We did walk down the hill on the way home and it was a challenge. The donkey droppings make the walk very slippery and this was at the end of the day, not sure what it would have been like trying to walk up it. I was very happy with our decisions to take the cable car up and walk down.
Christian B — Google review
Very comfortable ride... And so cheap.. just a 1 EUR you can go up for crew members... And guest 2 EUR ... Love to to ride again
Tapas M — Google review
6€ is crazy pricey. Lower the cost or at least offer a student discount. It is only a 2 minute trip! At least you save time for going up and down the old port of Fira. It would take you like 40-50 minutes both ways and now you do the same distance in 5 minutes.
Karolos K — Google review
Very busy cable car station. Getting down is very doable as the waiting line and queue is mostly shaded from the sun. Ticket to get down per person is €6. If you want to go up, that's another €6, which you buy at the lower station. TIP: Plan your return when going back up. We were unlucky enough to clash with 3 tourists boats and we waited about 1.5 hours in queue... Overall, this is the most convenient way to get down to the port.

The Archaeological Museum of Thera, located in the capital of Fira, Santorini, is a treasure trove of ancient artifacts. It showcases a wide range of archaeological finds including vases, frescoes, sculptures, and inscriptions from different periods such as Archaic to Roman. The museum also features vessels dating back to the Geometric until the Hellenistic Era.
Nice small museum in the middle of the shops. Great air conditioning! 30-60 experience.

A small museum with some great exhibits, however the museum experience would be greatly enhanced if they provided WiFi for visitors as it is not possible to download the app or use the audio guide without WiFi and without the audio guide the visitor experience is limited. The staff were not welcoming or friendly and said WiFi was for staff only. It is a also a pity that the best antiquities from Santorini are in the Archaeological Museum in Athens.

I just visited the exhibition “Kykladitisses: Untold Stories of Women in the Cyclades" It will last until the end of October. The museum just finished renovation in June. It looks quite different with the old one.

This museum is a must see for lovers of the ancient world. The display cases are well organized and signage is all in Greek and English. The most remarkable exhibit is on the lower floor, with astonishing frescoes from Akrotiri.
L L — Google review
Quite disappointing; small with maybe two or three important items to see. But there is more to come! There is a whole new side to it. So maybe in the future will be better. Not too polite staff.
Nicoleta G — Google review
All travellers with an interest in ancient art should make a concerted effort to visit the impressive and fascinating exhibition at the Archaeological Museum of Thera. It focuses on "the roles, representations, and daily lives of women in the Cycladic islands from prehistory through antiquity". In the first place there is now on display a remarkable group of important and unusual works, many of which are truly beautiful. Most of these works have been loaned by numerous Cycladic museums and by major museums of Crete and Athens. (It is wonderful that so many institutions have collaborated so effectively.) Of course, several fine works from the museum's own permanent collection are on display. Secondly, these works of art are beautifully displayed in a throughly contemporary manner in recently renovated galleries. Moreover, the English-language explanations and labels are clear and helpful. What is also special is that the exhibition has a clear focus, namely the roles of women in the Cycladic Islands. Fortunately the approach is broad and not dogmatic; the topics addressed include religion, beauty, domestic activities, sex, violence, and legal status. In short, the works on display are beautiful and fascinating.

Very interesting! Has artifacts from many different time periods. Audioguides are available
Olga F — Google review
Um ... This is just... Nope... It's neither archeological nor a museum, technically this is a galerie you pay 10 eu to get in and only has women from all history, both archeological history and recent. What does french paintings and iconographise from the 18th century have to do with archeology? And nothing on santorini. I feel i learned nothing in there other than the fact that there is violence against women. All the exibits just said that time and again, and 80% of them weren't even from santorini but from the rest of greece. Really dissapointed, really not worth it. The subject could have been one part of the exhibition, not the whole "museum".

We did some wine tasting here booked through EF ultimate break. It was a great experience even though they give you very little wine to taste, the snacks were good tho! Plus the view here is amazing.

Loved our time here! The view was beautiful and the wine very lovely. Went to santo as well and think this is better if you like a smaller, more intimate feel with just as good wine and views!! Wine history museum also very interesting. Highly recommend.

The oldest winery on the island, the popular drink is still made on the side of a hill. Walk inside and you'll find several levels that do deeper. There's a little museum that talks about its history and then a tasting room. Ordering tastings and food, it was a relaxing place for lunch. The sweet white wine tasting was excellent and we ended up buying some white wine at the end from their shop. Service was excellent and the views are absolutely stunning! It was too windy when we went so staff had everyone sit inside, but the restroom is outside and wow- I'll never forget that view!
Austin G — Google review
The wine was excellent and the charcuteries & cheeses were very good. We went during the festival celebrating the last eruption of the volcano in the middle of Thira so we had fireworks. The sun set is very beautiful from the terrasse as well 🌅

One of the best wine tasting tours I’ve experienced. Tonya & her team had delicious appetizers (so many if felt like lunch). Cherry tomatoes fritters, Greek salad, olives, salami, prosciutto, tomato paste with capers, & more. We tasted FIVE wines: 3-white wines; 2-red wines. It was a FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE!!!!🥂🍷

Wonderful tour with a friendly guide. A very unique way of making wine. Their pride is the use of wine making using gravity and the architecture to their advantage! Their tasting is very curated, and eclectic. Be mindful of the cheeses!

Stunning views, great food and brilliant service. Absolutely worth the 44 euros for the lunch and four wines. I was very impressed by the lunch, it went well above expectations 👌

We went to three wineries in Santorini and this was our favourite. The view was gorgeous, the history of the winery was really interesting, the wines were delicious (although slightly similar) and the accompanying cheeses, fruits and meats complemented the wines very well. We didn’t book in advance and they had space for us, and they had a range of prices - we paid €35 for 4 wines and a small mixed platter. We had a great time!

Nestled on the west side of Santorini, Caldera Beach is a hidden gem that offers a breathtaking view of the volcanic crater while you soak up the sun and take a dip in the crystal-clear waters. Unlike other touristy spots, this charming beach remains relatively serene even during peak season. It's one of only two beaches located in the caldera, making it an exclusive destination with its stunning views and tranquil atmosphere.
It's a very clean and beautiful, small, dark sand beach. There are trees lining the whole length of the beach and you can almost always find a comfortable spot in their shade. We had the best fruit smoothies ever at the beach bar. There is also a small water sports centre, with diving offers (we didn't check it ourselves). The water is super clean, there is lush seagrass at the bottom of the sea, so snorkeling might be fun. There's also a small cliff (approx. 6m) that you can dive from. Accessible by car. Definitely recommend!
Anca R — Google review
No amenities barring shade trees close to the high tide line, and used by locals. Cruise passengers - stay away, you won't be welcome. Anybody else, seeking a quiet place to swim - yes. Black sand beach with small pebbles, easy on soles! Bring food, water, books, and take your trash out when you leave.
Lenard M — Google review
It is quite the climb back up after but the beach wasn’t too busy and very beautiful. If you’re not afraid of going a bit further at the buoy there is a big rock with plenty of fish which is for snorkelling if you can handle the waves.
Jens B — Google review
We had a wonderful snorkeling experience here with Dimitris Kampanos from Dive in Action, a local organization championing the protection of the unique, beautiful and important Posidonia meadows. We learned so much about why the Posidonia is important (fish nursery, erosion control, carbon sink) and the threats (high speed ferries, anchoring) putting this magical habitat at risk! Highly recommend a dive or snorkel here with Dimitris!
Kristin R — Google review
A bit risky to walk down but very unique location, great view of caldera, but small beach.

Amazing beach to swim from, nice and quiet, great view of caldera, some shade also, clear blue green waters. Like the Grand Canyon with water

Caldera Beach in Greece is an absolute gem! The picturesque views of the azure waters against the rugged cliffs of the caldera create a mesmerizing backdrop that's simply unforgettable. Whether you're lounging on the sun-kissed shores or exploring the quaint seaside villages nearby, every moment here feels like a dream. The tranquility of the surroundings makes it the perfect spot to unwind and soak in the beauty of nature. A truly magical destination that deserves every bit of its five-star rating!

More of a wild beach. Cool spot. Careful as choppy waves from bigger passing ships can bring the tide up briefly and wash away your things. Put them farther back or on a high rock. Enjoy!

Outside, the terrace is surrounded by plants and flowers, creating a unique and welcoming atmosphere for delightful dining experiences. Visitors praise the amazing food and excellent service provided by Emilio and Speros, making it a highly recommended dining spot.
Stumbled across this hidden gem walking around Fira and it’s by far the best Italian we have ever experienced! Emilio and the team were so friendly, warm & inviting! Everything was so fresh and delicious! Try any of the home made pastas/meals you won’t go wrong!

The pizza are excellent. The main dishes like pasta and the appetizer are good too. The seafood risotto would be much better if it was creamier but it was ok. The desserts are homemade but not the best - the main dishes were better. Service is good and quick.

I just happened to stumble across this hidden gem before taking the sky tram back to the cruise ferry. The hospitality was amazing as I wanted to freshen up before dinner. I enjoyed the cold water and at last the entree. The chicken Alfredo was amazing ( I forgot the native name) I really enjoyed the fresh tasting pasta the most! The Fanta orange drink was very refreshing. Now the most important detail…my waiter Emilio was amazing and attentive. I plan to visit Santorini again soon, and of course I will dine here again!

Being from the US and loving Italian restaurants I was pleasantly surprised when we found this Gem in Santorini. The food was truly authentic that we even went back two nights in a row. The funny thing was the second night most of the tables in the front where all from the USA and others where there the night before as well.

Upon our arrival in Fira, we were so delighted to find this gem right next to our hotel. The entire staff is wonderfully attentive. The food is scrumptious especially the salmon ravioli. It was by fair our favorite prompting another dinner prior to our departure. The seafood risotto also delightful. Thank you to Sprios for his exceptional service and wine recommendations both nights.

If you’re staying in or near Pyrgos, you mustn’t skip this place. Totally delicious, authentic Greek food and wonderfully warm and welcoming service. The restaurant is relatively small so I recommend booking - it’s really popular and we saw tonnes of disappointed people trying to walk up. The owner treats you like family and really cares about giving excellent service. We actually visited here twice in one trip which is pretty unheard of for us! After eating here we tried another restaurant where our fish was badly overcooked and the staff didn’t seem bothered by that. So the next night we came straight back to Rymidi because we knew the food quality could be guaranteed! I’ve added photos of all the dishes we tried. The halloumi here is amazing as well as the feta in filo. But the standout dish (we got it both times!) is the seafood in saffron sauce. Plate licking good!

Bright and airy Greek restaurant with a nice terrace. The food is spectacular! I had the beef stew orzo (Giouvetsi), but got to try the lamb shank and a couple others. I highly recommend the spinach salad with pomegranate seeds. If I could have, I'd have eaten it all!

Nice restaurant in Pyrgos. Difficult to find via Google maps as it's a little alley from the main road. George was a fantastic host...very friendly. Food was decent but nothing special. If you are not comfortable with cats be aware as there are a couple that circle you but they do go away if you shoo. We had a baked cheese wrapped in vermicelli for starter and then prawn linguine and sea bass for mains.

Lovely place to have dinner in Pyrgos. I loved the details of the place, they have candles on each table and it smells really good. The lights are dimmed creating a very relaxed atmosphere. Service is really great, we felt as at home. Food is tasty and well presented. We had Greek cheese with honey and sesame (I loved it!) and Greek pizza. The restaurant will give you dessert on the house, which is a lovely gesture from them. The only thing that has made me not to give them 5 stars is that as a starter they bring a bread with two sauces (very good) without asking and they charge for it (very reasonable price). In my opinion, when you are going to charge for something you should first ask the customer if they want it. Anyway, the place, staff and food are fantastic. Highly recommended restaurant, especially for a date night.

Where to start, we found this beautiful little restaurant tucked away whilst out on a walk. The wife, only eating vegetarian was looking for a vegetarian moussaka for the whole trip with this being the only place that offered it. George (the owner) welcomed us in letting us choose our perfect seating. As for the menu for a small family run restaurant, the menu was diverse and catered for everyone. When the food arrived George was happy to talk to us and explain about the foods we had ordered, how the menu came about and checked how we found the food. They were so welcoming and friendly and in such beautiful surroundings which we were told the back story of how the restaurant came to life. If you are in the area, this restaurant is a must... The friendliness, value for money and the amazing quality of the food which show the love from the owners. (2nd) visit. Again very welcoming they prepared us a very nice meal before we flew out and even gave us a free drink as a thank you. Please visit the amazing place with such an amazing family.

Nice atmosphere, wait staff and food. They had some jazzy background music playing which was nice. We sat outside which was shady. They brought out bread with tzatziki and a tomato spread to start. We ordered the Greek salad, which was great with the capers and olives. We also ordered the lamb stew which had orzo and the lamb was amazing. Also ordered the squid which was also good. Ended with espresso and baklava. There’s a curious cat here too.

Madame Sousou in Santorini is a top restaurant offering an exceptional dining experience. Located near a hotel, this hidden gem boasts remarkable staff, exquisite food, and fine wine. The concept of sharing plates adds to the charm of this establishment. Highlights from their menu include flavorful baked potatoes, delectable cheese croquettes, and succulent beef cheeks. The restaurant's stunning ambiance is enhanced by its unique mountain bar.
Mind-blowing restaurant, such a hidden gem! Truly one of the best places we’ve been to in Greece. Everything was so flavorful, we tried the mixed spreads, octopus and the kebab in eggplant. The absolute highlight was the moussaka 🤩 I almost cried! (We often order moussaka, but this one was by far the best we’ve had anywhere!) also the people are kind and service great. Perfect experience ☺️

Really enjoyed the meal, everything was super tasty. It was a Greek-style tapas restaurant where we picked around 5 dishes to share between two people. The atmosphere and setup of the restaurant were also beautiful. I would definitely recommend trying the croquettes with feta cheese inside and the kebab.

This is the best restaurant in Santorini hands down. Serving portions are on the smaller side but that just gives you more opportunity to try out more dishes which is definitely worth it. Every dish we ordered was truly delicious, the service is great, the vibe is romantic and cosy. Highly recommend!

This is one of Pyrgos’s hidden gems for authentic, exceptional quality food. We’ve been several times and the atmosphere, service … and amazing view brings us back. While every dish has been fantastic, the cheese croquettes are a must have. Wines are (like throughout Santorini) always amazing and well paired with every dish. During the season, covered and open outdoor seating are a great place to watch the sunset and lights emerge in Oia and Fira like jewels in the landscape. This one is a “can’t miss!”

Very cute restaurant and sunset spot! We ordered a bunch of different things to try and they were all very good. However, after the meal, during the night we felt very sick. The tiramisu wasn't exactly the classic recipe, it felt like it had butter inside or something fatty and heavy. The Athenian salad was my personal favorite. The homemade bread gave the meal a very homely feeling.

We came in with high expectations as the reviews for this place are very good .. unfortunately it was a big disappointment.. The place is very nice itself, the atmosphere pleasant and an overall friendly service .. the food did not satisfy us at all . The fried squid was so small that was hard to actually taste it and extremely over-salted. The starter was ok but nothing memorable. The octopus too hard. the eggplant with burrata was ok. Reading all this positive reviews ( culinary? Gastronomy? ) a way far from that .. I want to believe that it was just a bad day for the chef but I won’t definitely give another try. I won’t take a risk to recommend it to anyone.

We had an unforgettable dining experience at Madame Sassou! The food was absolutely delicious; beautifully prepared Greek tapas with rich flavors. What truly made the evening special was the warmth of the staff, they were very welcoming and attentive from the moment we arrived. The setting is absolutely stunning, with a magical atmosphere that perfectly complements the food and wine! A must-visit while in Santorini.

Located just a stones throw from the Carpe Diem apartments (where we stayed) this place was a hell of a find. Very high quality service, very high quality food and drinks, I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. Not sure about a handful of strange reviews we read before coming to Santorini as we absolutely loved it, the tapas dishes were all excellent, the chef is clearly of high quality. Definitely give this a visit and enjoy this great place !

Mediterranean restaurant
Greek restaurant
In the charming town of Imerovigli, Santorini, Avocado Restaurant offers a delightful dining experience with its locally sourced organic Mediterranean specialties and a selection of fine wines. The restaurant provides a casual atmosphere and features a terrace for guests to enjoy their meals. Visitors can savor authentic Greek cuisine while indulging in four types of Santorini volcanic wines, including the renowned Assyrtiko and Vinsanto wine.
One of the best traditional Greek restaurant in Imerovigli, Santorini. We liked the food and went there again and we almost tried everything from the menu. Delicious food and friendly staff. Tried their dessert wine and I must say it’s one of the best we have ever tried. Chef prepared all the dishes with passion. My favourites are slow cooked lamb, beetroot falafel and avocado tzatziki.

✨ The food was absolutely delicious and the portions were really generous! The staff were friendly and attentive, and the owner is such a kind and charming man. A place you definitely want to come back to!

We visited Avocado during our last night on Santorini and wished we had gone sooner! We sat on the patio and watched the sunset. After the sun went down the wait staff offered tables a blanket. Our waiter suggested a Greek Merlot and was delicious--as was the spinach pie and veil moussaka!

A local recommended this to us, but it left us wanting more. I ordered the grilled octopus, which I found very good. Fresh and meaty. Wife ordered shrimp pasta, need more flavour. Shrimps were good, but pasta missing something. Bruschetta sounded very appetizing, but not as flavourful either as we would have hopped. Very dull atmosphere, quite inside and not much going on. The octopus saved this review.

Great restaurant, good service, good food, just overpriced for the area. I guess you are paying for the view over the caldera, but that view is everywhere on the side of Santorini. Other than the value this place had weird LoFi music playing that seemed to be playing everywhere in Greece. I had a really delicious salad.

Food is quite bland and lacked flavour. We ordered the grilled octopus, ballotine chicken slow cooked (6 hrs), and bruschetta. Portions were very small as well compared to other restaurants we dined at for similar price. Extremely overpriced (i.e., it was $21 euros for one octopus leg, portion is more like an appetitzer). The view would be nice as you can see the ocean if you were seated closer towards the door or outside. The staff and service was great and they were nice. However, not worth it for the quality of the food. Dear Elie, which is a few steps away is actually better (apparently it is the same owner).

service was great, very polite and got a coffee at the end. however, food was incredibly overpriced for not only quality, but also quantity. seafood platter (main meal) consisted of a few tomatoes, 4 cold myssels, a cold overcooked shrimp, and some rogue fish with a “grilled avocado” (half a avocado with no seasoning). also, just a small bowl of tzatziki was €9, with no bread???? beef carpaccio was amazing, and the super avocado salad was good but the salmon was a bit sub par… especially as u got 5 pieces for €19… while the service was great, the food and the price for the food did not match up, bit of a tourist trap, i can’t see anyone being a returning customer. also, there is somewhat of a sunset view but it’s blocked by a car park so you have to completely leave the restaurant to see it.

Wonderful food and very kind, accommodating and friendly staff who were very keen to amend the ingredients of the dishes to make them vegan and vegetarian for us. It was windy so they even gave us blankets as we wanted to sit outside. Would highly recommend!
