Nestled at the pinnacle of the historic Street of the Knights, the Palace of the Grand Master of the Knights of Rhodes stands as a magnificent testament to medieval architecture and history. Originally constructed by the Knights Hospitaller in the early 14th century, this imposing fortress was built atop an earlier Byzantine stronghold from the 7th century. Once serving as both a grand residence and administrative hub for these valiant knights, it has witnessed centuries of change.
Tickets are 20 EUR, but honestly, it’s worth it, the palace is stunning, with beautifully preserved halls, mosaics and a real sense of history. The inner courtyard is impressive, and walking through the massive stone corridors feels like stepping back in time. Try to visit early in the day to avoid crowds and the heat. It’s one of the must-see landmarks in Rhodes Old Town.

This place is so neat! Tickets are 20Euro or about $23 USD. Get there as early as you can, it gets crowded fast. Amazing restored rooms and furniture and so much to learn and see. It is an impressive building and beautifully decorated. There is a wonderful museum at the end to view as well.
Emily E — Google review
I went on the castle walls and honestly for 5 euro it was a lot of fun! It's a nice walk and you get a nice view of the town. I will say that there are no benches or shade so it can be intense in the heat so ensure you have water.
Ella T — Google review
Not just a medieval palace, a real voyage in time. We visited the Palace of the Grand Master on a Sunday morning and it seems like we got there before the crowds. We had plenty of time to visit every room and also the opportunity to snap a lot of pictures without too many people around. First things first, the Palace is in pristine condition. I was expecting a nice place but this visit totally blew our minds. It's big, and I mean BIG. Lots of history, stunning architecture, and even more. There are a few places you visit where you feel like words aren't enough to describe, this is one of them. It seems like every room we visited brought a new dimension to the history of the place and wowed us with mosaics, furniture, views or just absolute grandeur. We were lucky enough to visit during a museum day so we got the chance to visit for free, but to be honest, it's totally worth the regular price ice of admission. Take the time to stop by the windows and take a look outside, views are amazing at almost all of them.

A magical place full of history and beauty! I absolutely loved the stunning architecture of the Palace of the Grand Master — as soon as I walked in, it felt like stepping into a Disney movie! Every artifact inside the museum is so well preserved, and the royal rooms are simply beautiful. The atmosphere takes you back in time, letting you imagine the life of the knights who once lived here. The ticket was €20, but it was totally worth it. A must-visit when in Rhodes!
Xhulia P — Google review
Fantastic - really worth a visit. The architecture of the Palace is wonderful. All of the artifacts inside the museum are well preserved, and the various rooms are terrific to see. It was not overly busy when we went and the tickets were ~€20, but worth it.

The Medieval City of Rhodes is a well-preserved walled town with grand palaces, Byzantine-era mosques, and charming piazzas lined with cafes. It's considered the best-preserved and most picturesque medieval city in Europe. The mystifying Street of the Knights leads to the magnificent Grand Master Palace, which has 160 rooms to explore. Other historical sites include the Archaeological Museum, Virgin of the Castle, Turkish baths, and mosques with tall minarets in small squares.
Such a stunning place. The structures are beautiful and feel taken care of. Everywhere you go, there is something even grander than the next. The streets are bustling with restaurants and shops. It is definitely worth a visit if you're ever in Rhodes. We didn't go into any of the museums but I will make sure to do that if I ever visit Rhodes a third time.
MB — Google review
I had an amazing time! It's so beautiful and the kitties are so cute. The only issue is that a lot of the shops are almost identical but I do enjoy the tacky tourist vibe. Make sure you look around at prices to get the best price for things like shot glasses, magnets and drinks like the beer boot. I went late September and it was most busy usually afternoon when the heat dies down a bit.
Ella T — Google review
Absolutely beautiful city, situated on island and sounded by a old wall, it's so charming, fully packed with tourists, and full of shopping streets and restaurant, where you can find lots of good options. Little bit hot in the month of September as I visited today, old streets and monuments gives you very traditional vibe, at the same time you have so many luxury fashion shops make it true blend of traditional and modern blend.
Kuldeep R — Google review
A 'must visit'. Split into a Greek quarter, Jewish quarter and Turkish quarter. Busy during the day (cruise ships) and vibrant during the evening. Winding cobbled streets with shops and tavernas everywhere. Main streets can get very busy during the day but it's worth finding the quiet areas such as those 'top left' away from the harbour. Here you will still find gifts/crafts but more shade and a lot more peace & quiet. Well worth finding the Minos Roof Top Cafe/Bar for a fantastic view and some restbite! (See my review and photos.) During the evening the town is tastefully lit with uplighting and street lamps. Go off the beaten track and you will always find a quaint taverna or bar. It's simply beautiful and full of life. To navigate the town, start at the main square (through gate by commercial harbour/car park). The main shopping streets and side streets all lead up to the Islamic spire at the top of the town. Use this to get your bearings. The palace is then up and over to the right. The bus station is also easy to find and here you will also find an umbrella shop with all sorts of designs - well worth a look.

A Beautiful City full of medieval charm, a network of idyllic winding streets. Friendly, hospitable people. History and culture combine with Cosmopolitan style. One of my favourite places in the world. And the food (Gyros) from Mama Sofia's was excellent 👌

Such a beautiful well maintained site of extremely significant historical buildings. You can literally feel the history and stories seeping out of the walls. Very highly recommended you visit and allow a couple of hours to truly immerse yourself.

I absolutely loved visiting the Medieval City of Rhodes! Walking through its cobbled streets felt like stepping into another era. The atmosphere is magical, with so much history all around, yet it’s alive with shops, cafés, bars and restaurants. It’s the perfect place to wander, explore, and just soak up the beauty and charm.

Kallithea Springs, located by the seaside, is a historic spa with Art Deco architecture and a beautiful beach. Dating back to the 7th century B.C., it has been a popular destination for those seeking the therapeutic benefits of its thermal waters. The site also features the Rotunda, where visitors can relax and enjoy Greek cold coffee, as well as opportunities for snorkeling in the clear waters.
Gorgeous place, we visited Kallithea Springs in June and really enjoyed our stay. The place is absolutely gorgeous, with stunning architecture that feels both historic and elegant. The small museum adds a nice cultural touch, and the on-site restaurant is lovely with great food and views. The beach club was a highlight, so relaxing, with crystal-clear waters and the unique experience of swimming where natural spring water meets the sea. A perfect mix of history, beauty, and relaxation. Highly recommended!
Anete S — Google review
Great place to visit while on Rhodes. There are beautiful wives all around, the ticket costs 3 euro. There is also beautiful bay that you can swim and dive. The best tip I can give you is to take a diving stuff and use it to see the underwater environment.
Mateusz S — Google review
Kallithea Springs is a beautiful place to visit. If you are in Faliraki it's only few bus stops ahead. Very beautiful view to the sea, nicely done gardens and lovely bay surrounded by bar, sunbeds and so on. Entrance is affordable. It is valuable as a short visit too. However many people stay for a full day. All facilities in place: toilets, changing cabins, restaurant and sunbeds. However prices to rent a sunbeds are €30 per day. You can avoid the rent by settling in at the mini beach of the bay.
Katerina D — Google review
If you sit at the restaurant, you don’t have to pay for lounge chairs. The lounge chair is very in price based on the distance from the water. first line is €50. Best to go in the morning as it gets very crowded and the afternoon. this place has a vibe and great music coming from the restaurant.
Milena R — Google review
This was a surprising visit near our hotel. Beautifully kept, great views (especially for influencers looking for a great photo location) and a seemingly nice located bar/restaurant, though we didn't get to try it. Definitely a must see if your in the area

Kallithea Springs is a nice place to look around, with beautifully maintained grounds and scenic surroundings. While it’s not particularly exciting or full of things to do, it does have a certain charm and could be a lovely spot for weddings or events. We climbed the nearby cliff rocks and were rewarded with some amazing views of the coastline. Overall, it’s a pleasant area to visit, but not especially spectacular.

Entrance fee: €5. (Free in the evening.) Free parking. All-day beach access. Kebab next to the parking lot. We were here on September 18th, the weather was excellent.
Katalin B — Google review
5€/adult and free for kids up to 12 y.o. Free for everyone after 20:00. Arrived almost at noon and managed to find parking spot, but there were only few spots left. Beautiful bay and building to enjoy breeze and shadow in hot day. For swimming and sunbathing this is an odd place, because even sun-beds are pricey there is no privacy, tourist and just passer by visitor are walking around everywhere(I was one of those tourists), therefore for some relaxing and more private setting i would recommend a different place. Cost are next level here, other comments stated sun-bend and restaurant prices.

Butterflies Valley, located on the Greek island of Rhodes, is a 600-acre nature park that serves as a summer home for numerous butterflies. The valley is particularly popular from late May to late September when thousands of Jersey tiger moths gather in the shaded canyon, which boasts the only natural forest of Oriental Sweetgum trees in Europe. Visitors can explore walking trails and benches while being surrounded by formidable walls and medieval buildings in the nearby Old Town of Rhodes.
The Valley of the Butterflies is a hidden gem in Rhodes – peaceful, unique, and absolutely worth a visit. Walking through the shaded paths surrounded by lush greenery and waterfalls feels like stepping into another world. During the summer months, thousands of butterflies gather here, creating a magical atmosphere that's hard to describe in words. Take your time to enjoy the calm, listen to the sound of water and nature, and if you can, climb up to the monastery at the top for a beautiful panoramic view. Wear comfortable shoes – it's a gentle hike but with some steps – and bring your camera, because every corner is a picture waiting to happen. A place where nature shows its most delicate side. Truly unforgettable!
Maurizio F — Google review
When it comes to nature on Rhodes, this is indeed an interesting valley. The trail consists of two stages: you walk through a gorge among trees and shrubs, along a stream, with the occasional small waterfall or pond. Wooden footbridges, benches to rest on, and the occasional butterfly create a pleasant atmosphere. However, the path goes uphill, with plenty of stone steps, so in 40°C heat (we had 49°C that day – we wanted to cool down) this activity is not for everyone. At the beginning, in the middle, and at the end of the trail, there are toilet facilities (they cost €0.50 – a bit of a pity that it’s not free when you eat in the restaurant or in the park), restaurants, and rest areas. We had a coffee, and it was okay. In August 2025, the entrance fee is €6. You walk uphill in a crowd, on a stone path, and “admire” the charms of the valley. In my opinion, those charms are rather average. The price is adequate for the attraction. Worth a visit, but it’s not on the TOP list for Rhodes.
Victorien Ł — Google review
Beautiful valley in the heart of Rhodes hills. I would recommend an early start to beat the crowds and cars that arrive mid morning. The walk is about 1 hour to 1 hour 30 round trip if you take it easy. Most of the butterflies are in the upper valley, take an information leaflet when you pay your 6€ (Sept 2025) entrance fee to read the short write up on the valley. Would recommend trainers or likes for footwear as paths are cobbles and uneven in places. Worth a early morning trip
Mark C — Google review
We visited the Valley of the Butterflies at the end of October. Be aware: the famous butterflies are gone for the season. Instead, we spotted many crabs in the streams! The major upside was the weather—no intense heat, making the beautiful hike very enjoyable. It is a stunningly green and tranquil location, highly recommended for a peaceful walk, even if you miss the main spectacle.

review: ⸻ Butterfly Valley, Rhodes – A Peaceful Escape into Nature Butterfly Valley is truly a unique and magical place to visit in Rhodes. The scenery is absolutely stunning, with lush greenery and a calm, peaceful atmosphere that feels like a different world. During my visit, a wild goat passed by and set off a cloud of butterflies – such an unforgettable sight! The trails are pleasant, but I would strongly recommend wearing proper shoes as the paths are not suitable for flip-flops. You’ll enjoy the walk much more with comfortable footwear. It’s a great spot to relax, enjoy nature, and take some wonderful photos. If you’re visiting Rhodes and love serene, natural places, this should definitely be on your list!
Catalin D — Google review
Butterfly Valley is a truly unique experience — walking through the shaded paths surrounded by lush greenery and hearing the gentle sound of running water feels like stepping into another world. The sight of thousands of butterflies resting on the trees is absolutely breathtaking and something you don’t see every day. The walk is easy and suitable for families, with spots to rest along the way. The fresh air and natural beauty make it a perfect break from the busy tourist spots. Staff are friendly and keep the area well maintained. Tip: Visit in the morning for a quieter experience and wear comfortable shoes for the paths. Highly recommended for nature lovers and photographers!
Konstantinos K — Google review
Been here 10 years ago (to a different part) it was lovely and relaxing then, it seems to have become much more commercial with several car parks and costly snack bar. Car parking is far away and there is no accessibility - we had to walk down a long, dangerous (steep road on a blind bend) to get to the entrance - so hectic with cars and people! cost was 18 euros for 3 of us, it’s all steep slippery steps so you need to be very fit and in trainers with good grip. Saw some small frogs and loads of moths right at the end of the season (early September).
Sarah J — Google review
We were in the butterfly valley on September 18th and luckily we saw a lot of butterflies. They are orange in flight, and after landing, their wings are brown and white. There were many visitors, the entrance fee was 6 €. I highly recommend it!

Romeo Restaurant is located in a renovated 500-year-old structure, close to the fortress walls of Rhodes' Old Town. This historic stone edifice, adorned with traditional shutters, evokes a sense of antiquity. The eatery offers an array of delectable dishes at reasonable prices. Its affable staff caters to diverse visitors by providing menus in various languages, including Polish.
Everything was great! Especially sardines with cheese were a masterpiece 🙌🏻 All staff were kind, helpful. And thanks to Akin, for his frequent check-ins and friendliness. Only thing we did not like much was cinnamon in baklava, it was too strong. Apart from this live Greek music, dances, “Opa” (plate breakings) were amazing. Would come again, we had so much fun
Kıtalar A — Google review
We came here after seeing it being recommended on TikTok, the service was pretty slow and it took a while for anybody to approach us to take our orders and a while for our drinks/starters to arrive however once the main course came this made up for the slower service completely! Absolutely phenomenal food and I recommend for this basis! The live Greek singers every night really adds to the excellent setting.

We visited as part of an excursion with our cruise. Romeos is lovely. You eat outside under a giant shade tree. I imagine at night it is particularly lovely with the lights strung. We did not choose from the menu, but thoroughly enjoyed what was provided. We started with bread with 4 different spreads, all different colors and flavors. Bottled water and white wine was provided. The wine was on the dryer side and reminded me of a reisling. We then had a salad of tomatoes, cucumber, green peppers, red onions and olives topped with olive oil. Our main course was a vegetable stew (we had the vegetarian option). It has root vegetables, eggplant, peppers and onions. It was delicious. Dessert was an orange cake drenched in a light syrup. We enjoyed the whole meal. The staff were very efficient and kindly accommodated our dietary requirements. The women's restrooms are upstairs to the right and the men's is upstairs to the left.

Fantastic spot! After reading some great reviews, we decided to try this place for dinner and we weren’t disappointed! I had the Diavola pizza, which was fluffy, light, and absolutely delicious. You could tell they take their pizza seriously, especially seeing the proper pizza oven on the way in. My other half went for the prawn linguine, which was perfectly saucy with a fantastic fresh fish flavor. The service was also amazing, and they had live music which made for a fantastic atmosphere. We would highly recommend this spot and will definitely be coming back!
Michael P — Google review
This was recommended to us by the night manager for live greek music and authentic food and dear God was he spot on. The food was fresh, very good portion size, attentive staff a live band, and even some plate smashing. If in Rhodes town or are visiting the area youd be missing out if this isn't the one restaurant you indulge in.

Tourist trap Bad service. Brought starter together with main dish. Let us wait for order of food 15 minutes. No small gestrure at the end- no sweets no drinks no melon- far below island standards. Bad vives. The ovtopus was half portion- overpriced Fiid quality low average
Guy G — Google review
They break plates! I’ve been to Greek islands dozens of times and I’ve never seen that. But last night when the locals started dancing…. Besides that, the live music is fantastic, joyful, upbeat and fun. We didn’t want to leave. And, if you think this might mean the food isn’t good…you’d be wrong. Best gigantes in town. They even have a bit of spice to them. The vegetarians were very happy. And the meat eaters loved the squid and gyro plates. I’ve been to Rhodes four times, and this is the place I crave when I get here. Reservations aren’t required but if you want the table next to the musicians, book ahead. Go here!
Jim S — Google review
The atmosphere is excellent with live music that makes it really entertaining. The food was very delicious. The staff were attentive and friendly, and the service was fast — we didn’t wait long. For Turkish visitors, there’s a Turkish menu and Turkish-speaking staff. With Turkish songs playing as well, this is definitely a must-visit taverna in Rhodes.

Nestled in the heart of Rhodes town, Restaurant Wonder is a culinary gem that beautifully marries Mediterranean flavors with French influences. Since its establishment in 2001, this charming eatery has been dedicated to serving the local community with dishes crafted from fresh, locally sourced ingredients. The menu is thoughtfully updated based on seasonal availability, ensuring that every visit offers something new and delightful. During my recent summer visit to Restaurant Wonder, I was utterly captivated by both the stunning ambiance and the exquisite cuisine.
From the minute we arrived we knew this place was going to live up to its name! The hostess was an absolute gem and made our stay one of the most enjoyable nights we had in Rhodes. The place is beautiful and the food... wow. You have to try the Scallops Kantaifi, they're simply amazing. I also chose the fillet Tournedos, which was delicious - really show stopping stuff! We ended up staying and chatting with our hostess until the early hours of the morning with a couple of cocktails. A lovely experience. Go here at all costs if in Rhodes!

We visited Restaurant Wonder twice during the week because of the exceptional food and the friendliness of the staff. Every dish was beautifully presented and full of flavour, with a great mix of Mediterranean and creative options. The service was warm and attentive, and the atmosphere relaxed yet elegant. The restaurant offers a lovely combination of outdoor courtyard dining or, if the weather turns, comfortable indoor seating. Quite simply, the best food we’ve had while in Rhodes, both on this visit and on previous trips to the island. Highly recommend.

We went for a family meal at the Wonder Restaurant and the staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was amazing. A Hidden Gem in Rhodes. Truly Exceptional! We had dinner here last night with five friends, four of whom have years of experience in the hospitality industry and we were all genuinely impressed. Every single aspect of this restaurant was fantastic. Everything is homemade, and you can truly taste the love and care in every dish. The flavors were fresh, authentic, and beautifully balanced. It’s clear that quality and craft come first here. The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming. They took their time with us, were honest and sincere, and made us feel right at home. The owner herself came to the table with a big smile and so much passion. You could tell she puts her heart into everything she does. The ambiance is cozy and charming, like dining in someone’s beautiful backyard. Without a doubt one of the best dining experiences we’ve had on Rhodes!

Very nice Ambiente and Service, good wine and the food was very delicious! Great Place for a Dinner next to the Sea
David — Google review
This place does not live up to its high rating (4.7). To begin with, the service wasn’t the nicest and definitely not professional. The food itself- the ravioli felt store bought in both of the different dishes we took. The fish was excellent but the sides were quite tasteless - boiled vegetables with no seasoning. The highlight of the meal was definitely the delicious steak. Perfectly cooked, soft and absolutely delicious. Would come again simply for that. The lamb was cooked to perfection as well. For dessert we took the baklava which was a cold, less fresh version of what we got in our hotel the night before - I wouldn’t be surprised if they take it from there. (Paladium) The waiters kept taking my friend plate while she was still eating, and it was a very unpleasant experience. Overall, the place is very beautiful and the meat is very good. The service and the rest of the dishes were lacking.

An unforgettable experience! The Greek dishes were full of flavor, and the pasta was beyond delicious. The chef is absolutely top — every plate feels like a masterpiece. The service was outstanding as well: warm, attentive, and truly unmatched. A perfect spot where amazing cuisine meets exceptional hospitality!

Everything you could ask from a restaurant during your vacation. Service is top notch. Food is delicious and the location is amazing. Some live music and the evening is set. We enjoyed our stay very much

They accepted us in the restaurant without a reservation. The restaurant is next to the beach separate from the hotel. The atmosphere was fantastic. It was fancy but still very cozy. The staff were friendly and very professional. They would refill our wine and water whenever it was needed. We had a 3 course meal. The dishes we ordered had a few simple ingredients, but the taste and plating was top tier. The highlight of our dinner as a greek person, visiting Rodos for the first time with my foreign boyfriend was the dessert. It was petit fours of traditional greek desserts. He had a chance to try different desserts in 1 plate and I felt a bit nostalgia tasting them. The price was maybe a bit more expensive but totally worth it!

Best restaurant near our hotel (Elysium). So much so we came here twice. Great food, great service and great decor. Well worth a visit if you’re nearby, even if you’re not staying at their hotel. Can easily be accessed via the beach, so don’t do what we did and walk down the road only to have to go through the hotel.

Beautiful place, I wish the food was the same. The food was great looking but lacking some taste. Not enough salt in most of the dishes. The meat was great, if you come here you should order meat.

Seven Springs, also known as Epta Piges, is a serene natural oasis located between Kolympia and Archipolis on Rhodes Island. This hidden gem is surrounded by lush forestry and offers a refreshing escape from the island's heat. The area features seven springs and a man-made lake that can be accessed through a narrow tunnel built in 1931.
A great place to cool off in the scorching heat. The kids enjoyed the tunnel where a stream flows, and the water is refreshing. Beautiful surroundings. We were here at the beginning of June, and it was already a bit of a challenge to find a free parking spot, but we managed. Entrance is free, and parking is also free.
Michal D — Google review
Definitely worth a visit if you're in Rhodes. Not far from the main 95 road, Rhodes town to Lindos. The tunnel was interesting. Remember to take your shoes with you as you can’t U turn and it’s approximately 400 metres. The waterfall is actually a man made dam and don’t expect to see much flowing over it in the height of summer. Be careful in the 7 springs walk as you can easily get lost. It’s a fair uphill hike so make sure you have water. There’s next to no signage at all so wandering is only for those with a good sense of direction. A good cafe close to the far size car parks. Reasonable price for drinks and donuts. Toilets on site that are free and so is entry.Definitely a different experience!
Mark C — Google review
Well this is a lovely spot in nature and the tunnel is definitely cool and worth walking through. If you're a bit nervous about the dark, use the light on your phone. The passage is quite low and narrow, so if you're claustrophobic, it's time to face your fears or give it a miss. The water is refreshing and maybe 8 inches deep. Can be done in bare feet or flip flops. At tge end of the tunnel is the dam and lake (or large puddle). As others have said its a nice few hours in nature with the peacocks and ducks. The seven springs themselves are beside the restaurant. I only had a cool drink, but the food coming out to others looked very good and people seemed to be enjoying it. I only gave 4 stars as there was no water going over the dam. As a side there were lots of children enjoying themselves.
Jonny B — Google review
This is everything you will see there, plus a couple of dozen of peacocks. It is solely promoted for the restaurant there. I gave 1 star because we went to see an actual spring, lake, tunnel etc but the photos will be all of those you see. And some hiking routes. You can have a really nice lunch or dinner in a forest environment in the restaurant there, but seven springs is a pure promotion material to attract tourists to come there and meanwhile have a meal at the restaurant. We regretted losing half an hour there trying to find an actual spring or lake, instead of continuing straight to Zeus temple ruins..
Eru I — Google review
We took the bus from Rhodes Town, and the ride was over 1.5 hours, a bit tiring. You can’t buy a return ticket at the stop, and buses aren’t very frequent, so plan ahead. Once there, the nature is nice, but to be honest, not much more than that. It’s a good spot if you enjoy peaceful walks through the forest, but don’t expect anything too spectacular. Worth a visit only if you really want a nature break.
Miodrag J — Google review
Many people look for the dam in the wrong place because there are no clear signs. If you google “Seven Springs Dam,” you’ll find it. The wooded area behind the restaurant, near the “springs,” is actually quite dangerous. The paths run along steep cliffs and can be slippery. The tunnel leading from the restaurant/springs to the lake and dam is an exciting experience.
JS — Google review
Nice bit of nature, plenty of trees and water. Good to sit and chill out for a bit. Worth it just for the tunnel walk to the lake. Long pitch black tunnel with cold water running through. It's low and narrow so be prepared to crouch down a bit if you are over about 5ft 10. Free to go, gift shop and a restaurant. I will let the photos say the rest.
Baz W — Google review
Superb place hidden in the middle of Rhodes island. There are a few fresh water springs, a lake an amazing little artificial waterfall. No entrance fee or parking fee. Just go and enjoy the sights for no cost at all. The amazing thing is that there is a restaurant( Greek taverna) and there are peacocks everywhere even besides the tables. We also saw baby peacocks.

Traganou Beach, located on the northeast shore of Rhodes Island, offers a serene and unspoiled atmosphere due to its pebbled surface that deters large crowds. This 20-minute drive south of Rhodes Town is a haven for sunseekers and beach enthusiasts, providing parasols, loungers, and calm waters ideal for swimming and snorkeling. The beach also features Traganou Cave on its north side for exploration.
This beach is a very quiet family oriented beach. Parking is great, lots of space and it’s free. The beach has many pebbles everywhere so, I highly recommend wearing water shoes if you are sensitive on your feet. The water so clean and clear. bring your snorkelling gear with you. The cave and rock formations are so picturesque that you will enjoy taking photos. You can sit in the cave if you want to stay out from the sun. The sun beds and umbrella is 15 euros very reasonable compared to other beaches we did our research others were asking 25 to 30 euros way too much! You are more than welcome to bring a packed lunch or enjoy the restaurant which has great food!
Katarina P — Google review
A pebble beach with crystal-clear water. The sunbed and umbrella fee is €10 for one person and €15 for two. For those who prefer not to pay, there are some shaded areas available for free use. There are also nice places nearby for food and drinks.
Cemil E — Google review
My experience at Traganou Beach was nothing short of amazing! The beach has pebbles, but they’re small they don’t bother you at all—just bring water shoes if you’re extra sensitive. The water is crystal clear, perfect for swimming and snorkeling around the nearby caves and rock formations (don’t miss exploring them!). The vibe here is pure chillaxation—no crowds, just serene beauty. A pair of sunbeds and a parasol cost only €15. Getting here is easy too: take the bus, and it’s just a 10-minute walk from the stop. The Traganou Taverna nearby serves delicious, affordable food—the perfect post-beach feast or to grab an ice cold beer or a coffee. They have a great barisrta. Hands down, this was the best beach day of my life! Highly recommend for anyone visiting Rhodes. 💙
Oussama T — Google review
Traganou Beach, located just south of Faliraki, is a spacious, pebbly-sandy beach with a peaceful, relaxed vibe. What I really liked is that the sunbeds are spread out, so everyone has plenty of space — unlike many other, more crowded beaches. This beach is far from tourist hotspots, and feels more secluded and natural. There are two beach bars where you can get drinks (can’t say much about the food, as I didn’t try it). The sunbed prices are reasonable, lower than at most other beaches on the island. It’s mostly visited by locals, which adds to its laid-back charm. When I visited, it was a bit windy, but the wind didn’t bother me — the water was crystal clear. One thing to note: the sea gets deep very quickly, so it’s not ideal for small children or non-swimmers. The left side of the beach, where the large rock formations are, is absolutely stunning — magical, almost surreal scenery. Next time I visit, I’ll definitely head straight to that part, especially since it’s near the popular caves. If you’re looking for a beach that feels more untouched and local, Traganou Beach is a hidden gem.
Vladimir S — Google review
Filthy water. Used to be the best beach on the island but for the past several years the sea has been polluted with garbage. The water is now at the point of not being swimmable. Such a shame, the water used to be beautiful and crystal clear.
Mvangopoulos — Google review
It is really nice and clean side of island, beach is clean and nice for relaxing 😌, beach is not sand but it is nice small stones and it is possible to enter the sea without water shoes

Has to be my favourite beach in Rhodes. Went late afternoon, it was truly quiet, love that the shore has pebbles and not sand (which ofcourse could be uncomfortable to walk in). The road leading down is quite steep. Parking: free Sunbeds & umbrella: 20€ Considering the time I went, didn’t have to pay as there were so many empty beds. For those wanting to swim, the beach is quite steep and there’s a sudden drop. There’re also restaurants around to buy snacks , coffee and food.

Aquarium
Nature & Parks
Aquarium of Faliraki, also known as AquaWorld, has a rich history dating back to its establishment by the Italians in 1936. Since 1963, it has operated as the Hydrobiological Station of Rhodes, serving as a research center for Mediterranean marine life. The aquarium features an open water circulation system that creates natural living conditions for a diverse array of Mediterranean species including turtles, various fish, octopuses, clams, reefs, and sea flowers.
Once you step inside and talk to the owner, you will think for yourself that it was best spent 8€ ever! This aquarium is run by one man only, he cleans, feeds and rescues the animals himself. You will be amazed how many exotic animals there are and you can even touch a starfish and a stingray. He keeps animals for about 20-30 days or until they are healthy again and will release them back to the ocean. The aquarium isn’t a big showroom, but we spent there good 30 mins chatting with owner and looking at all the animals there. His work is very touching and was glad to support this! For the owner, thank you for your amazing job with these animals!

A place cared for by love and care for sea animals, the owner takes care of rescues, which he himself rescues from nets. Nurses them back to health and then releases them. It's a small and short experience (under an hour), but worth checking out. I have visited many aquariums in my life- and was still surprised to see fish I have never seen before! There are many local species to see also. Overall a nice and loving experience- no wait, AC, and cosy. The fish have all special decorations and the place is nicely painted.

Lovely little Aquarium that helps and rescues sick marine life. Guy really friendly and my daughter loved it that much we visited every other day. Really well priced as well €8 for adult and €5 for kids, definitely worth a visit.

Highly recommend a visit! The work done by Theo here is amazing. You could see he really cared about all sea life and preserving it for as long as possible. It was small aquarium but made a massive difference. There was an octopus, turtle and other fishes I had never seen before. Keep up the amazing work
Amandeep K — Google review
A very pleasant experience, the rescuer is an amazing person that does a very important job of trying to rehabilitate the poor animals cought in nets by uncaring individuals. He also jumped to help when he heard we saw a sick cat at the resort we're staying at. The world needs more people like him. The place is worth your visit, there is virtually no wait time, the animals are actually cared for unlike other aquariums I've visited, it's a nice cool break from the heat of the day. There are also many minerals to see and learn about, as well as purchase. As a mineral and crystal enthusiast, this was a nice surprise. Sure you can go on plant of Island activities, but do make time to stop by. It's worth the trip!

Nice little "aquarium"/fish hospital. The man who runs it is very nice and takes good care of the creatures he has. Some really interesting sea creatures to see. We were even able to touch a little sea turtle he had just rescued that morning, which he will then release back to the sea. Very cool.
Lynsey — Google review
Lovely little aquarium, ran by 1 man who rescues marine life and nurses them back to health before releasing them. Worth it just to see the small turtle that was rescued
David C — Google review
The owner is called Theo and he clearly has a heart of gold as waits every day to rescue any live sealife left for dead by the fisherman in the nets. Just be aware this is a mini aquarium- it's air conditioned and made up of quite a lot of little tanks which are labelled. You can look into a bigger tank and he lets you touch the turtles (if there are any rescues) The turtle in the tank only just started eating independently today after being poorly from being rescued near Lindos. All the sealife is released back into the ocean. He clearly has their interests at heart and tells us that no fish are happy in these tanks. We saw quite a few interesting fish including a few large eels and my daughter loved the glow in the dark fishes and the puffer fish. When you are finished he gives you a little bag with a few shells as a souvenir. Its costs 8 Euros for adults and 5 euros for kids which is a bit steep for what it is however if like me you see it more as an opportunity to donate to a good cause then it seems fair.

Farma of Rhodes is a captivating petting zoo boasting over 100 friendly animals, including deers, camels, donkeys, lemurs, and ostriches. Visitors can interact with the animals through feeding and petting experiences while capturing memorable selfies. Notably, Farma of Rhodes is the exclusive location in Rhodes where playful Lemurs can be found and interacted with.
This attraction is an absolute must-visit for any animal enthusiast. As someone who has always loved animals—especially lemurs—I was delighted by the incredible range of experiences on offer. I was particularly surprised and thrilled to have the chance to see and feed the raccoons! There are numerous opportunities for interaction, and being able to enter the enclosures and feed the animals made the experience truly special. We waited a short while for the lemurs to wake up, and when we were invited into their enclosure, it was wonderful to see them up close. I was lucky enough to have baby Romeo, the young lemur, come over to me! When I shared my enthusiasm for lemurs with the keeper, she kindly allowed my partner and me to stay a little longer. As we sat quietly near the benches, the lemurs became more active—jumping around us and even holding our hands. The entire experience was magical, and every member of staff we met was friendly, knowledgeable, and welcoming. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone who loves animals—it’s something truly unforgettable.

Me and my partner came to see and feed the animals, which all looked healthy and happy. The lemur experience was amazing getting to be so close to them and even feed them. The lady who cares for the lemurs was really friendly and very informative about them. The raccoon experience was also amazing getting to feed them and pet them, the carers was also super informative and friendly. The food is all vegetarian and really nice from the cafe along with been reasonable priced and fast service. All in all I would highly recommend visiting.

I just visited Farma Zoo in Rhodes and it was honestly the best zoo experience I’ve ever had! I’ve been to many zoos in different countries, but this one truly stands out. The variety of animals is small – you’ll find donkeys, sheep, raccoons, ducks, lemurs and a few others – but what makes it special is the atmosphere. You can clearly see that the animals are happy, well cared for, and treated with love. The staff are absolutely wonderful – so friendly and passionate about what they do. They even give the animals names, which makes the whole experience feel much more personal and heartwarming. One of the highlights for me was being able to feed the lemurs – such a fun and unique experience! It doesn’t feel like a typical zoo, but more like a place where animals and people connect in the right way. I left with such a positive feeling and so many great memories.

A Must-Visit, it felt like a truly hands-on adventure. The animals are friendly, well-cared for, and seem happy to engage with visitors. It’s perfect for families, couples, or anyone who loves animals. If you are in Rhodes, make sure this is on your itinerary. You won't be disappointed! Highly Recommended!

Small zoo but with variety of healthy animals, featured with possibility to feed them (you can buy specialised food, 2 E per portion). The main attraction is a supervised visit to lemurs - and you will get interesting info about them (spoiler: king Julian does not exist!). There is a cafe (brave enough to try ostrich omlette?) and a souvenir shop with cute and unique items (like painted ostrich egg).

🌿 A Truly Magical Experience at the Farm Petting Zoo in Rhodes 🐐 Visiting this petting zoo was an unforgettable experience! There are very few places in the world where you can get so close to animals—petting them, feeding them, and learning about their lives in such a hands-on, respectful way. The staff are simply wonderful. You can feel their deep love for the animals in everything they do. They take the time to explain each animal’s story, habits, and personality with such care and enthusiasm. It’s clear this isn’t just a job to them—it’s a passion. Whether you’re traveling with kids or just want to reconnect with nature, this place offers something truly special. I left with a full heart and a huge smile. Highly recommended!

What a stellar experience and such a unique concept! They really seem to care about the animals and they seem happy, which is important for a place like this. The fact that you can hang out and pet most of the animals there is amazing. The experience with the lemurs is undoubtedly the highlight of the whole thing!
Nemanja P — Google review
We went here on October 24th. It was an amazing experience, especially the Lemurs. We got to go in their enclosure and give them some food. They jumped on us and cuddled with us. Their 'mama' told us that sometimes the lemurs do have a little siesta, and that at those times, the interactive part is closed. So keep that in mind! The rest of the animals were also very cuddly and food motivated! I was wearing a very flowy skirt, which got nibbled on by a goat. Some of the enclosures looked a little small, but we didn't ask if the animals stay there day and night or if they get moved around.

A very pleasant experience at Mimakos taverna. We were recommended to go there but randomly we found out there was a live show happening on Tuesdays with live music and dancing. You definitely need to pre-book though. The one thing that didn't stand out and not reach our expectations was the food. We had a selection of starters that were not as tasty to our standards. However, the lamb was very tender and tasty and definitely recommend it. My assumption is that due to the heavy load of tables and bookings (probably 150-200 guests at once) they pre-made some of the starters, hence not so great. I'd suggest trying it on a normal day. Excellent and quick service, with waiters being polite and attentive. A very fun night with the help of the musicians and the dancers. Good location with a big parking area available.

Best meal so far in Rhodes - we had a great evening. There was no written menu. Instead, they ask you for your preferences and start bringing dishes from the kitchen. Enjoyed every single bite, plus the staff were all incredibly welcoming. Prices were totally fair too, estimate 20 per person plus drinks.

A tavern next to the road to Faliraki. We got there at around 5 pm for late lunch. The restaurant was almost empty. The card is quite small but the waiter assisted us with the order. He asked us to assamble a meat plate out of our meat preferences (we chose lamb amd chicken) along with 3 appetizers. We got the greek salad, tzatziki and Pitaroudia. They adapt the portion size to the number of guests therefore it was a big portion for 2 people. We paid 46 euros which is a reasonable price with 2 drinks. The service was super quick and nice. Can recommend this place if you want to try some greek traditional food with a great sea view.

Very tasty Greek food — the best we had on Rhodes! Cozy place with kind and friendly staff. We’ll definitely come back 🩷

We had the best night, we met and got talking Stefanos and Raphaella and he told us about his father’s restaurant and that they had a Greek night every Tuesday, he very kindly booked a table for all 11 of us, we were made so welcome, as if we were part of the family, food was amazing and plentiful, the entertainment was really fun and inclusive, the taverna has amazing views, and is family run, you can see how happy all the staff are, which then rubs off on all their guests, we all really did have the best night. We can’t wait to try your families homemade honey, I’m so pleased we met you, you really do have a beautiful family, keep doing what you’re doing, it’s just perfect, Thankyou so much for your kindness, Melanie and Paul x

Replay Village Restaurant Cafe is a delightful spot that captures the essence of Greek hospitality and cuisine. Nestled conveniently between 7 Springs and the Butterfly Farm, it offers a charming atmosphere perfect for relaxation. Guests rave about the delicious homemade gyros, fried cheese, and stuffed vegetables—all at very reasonable prices. The friendly service adds to the experience, making you feel right at home. Diners can enjoy complimentary bread and olives before their meal, along with refreshing watermelon afterward.
Highly recommended. If you're looking for lunch after visiting 7 springs give it a go. Great food at a very good price. They brought out free bread and olives before our lunch and free watermelon after.

Great food at great prices, including the house wine.

Quite cheap restaurant, but with little sub average meal quality. Mousaka had some bit too salty, some pasta inside was bit undercooked. Espresso was same quality as twice as expansive in the Rhodos city.

No food but had 7 up. Owner remembered us from 4 years previous. Brilliant. Will be going back for a meal whilst on the island. Went back for lunch and had a large Greek Salad with drink and bread. Lovely atmosphere. Had company of a local cat whilst eating.
