Excellent green area South of Brussels, with various pathways for pedestrians, cyclists and horseriders. There is a small restaurant and ocasionally mini-trucks selling waffles and icecream.

Absolutely magical and amazing public park in the la hulpe region around the la hulpe castle ! Entrance is free and always accessible. The place is relatively very well maintained considering how huge the place is and how much work it needs. It is also very clean. I particularly like the ponds around the place. Making the walking/running experience very unique. Free car Parking place is available nearby so it is just perfect.

Such a beautiful place to enjoy a quite walk, to read a book or do some mindfulness. It is pretty cold and windy on winter time so I suggest to get some heavy coats. Also you can take a bit of bread with you if you want your childrens to fed the ducks that you will be finding all around the park. At half way there is a Museum and a Bar that is always super crowded if you go in weekend time. It is a wonderful experience to get close to nature.

One of the greatest places near Brussels where you can enjoy a wonderful day with your family, your partner or alone, walking or cycling in nature, in an area that offers beautiful landscapes: large wooden areas, large open green areas, multiple lakes populated by ducks and wild geese. The attached photos are worth a thousand words. Apart from that, one can enjoy a Belgian waffle or a tasty ice cream prepared on the spot, from an ice cream van or a waffle van of the park, I warmly recommend the place.

One of the nicest parks I have been to. Very well maintained. Beautiful chateau and garden. There's also a farm with horses. It's just 20 minutes from Brussels, so definitely something to see while there for a visit.

A lovely place to have a walk, to ride bicycles or horses, to have a picnic on a sunny day. Very close to Brussels, a huge park with ponds and a beautiful chateau that you can admire from outside. The entrance to the park is free of charge. The parking is along the road and also free. We spent a very pleasant morning there.

It was beautiful castle and garden. There are lots of ponds and birds. We could see cherry blossoms in springtime. Museum also wonderful!!

One of the most beautiful castles in Belgium. Surrounded with amazing park woth lakes, forests, horses and wild nature. One of the best spots for a family weekend. Or a bike trip. Scouts love to explore the secrets of this place. Scroll around, take your camera. And picnic equipment. There is also a labyrinth and many interesting sculptures. Parking is outside, near main street. From there you need to walk around 1km to the castle. We come there every few weeks. Highly recommended! ;)

An astonishing scenery with a lake, two big meadows and a beautiful chateau. There is a house riding place and you will not get enough of this place. I totally recommend this place. You will never forget the scenes. This place is like a dream land

Beautiful, well-kept park with easy walking trails. Most are stroller friendly and a few veer off with a bit of an incline. Great for a peaceful picnic on the grass.

The chateau itself with some parts of the building, covered in greenery, it was just so picturesque. Beside the chateau is its garden which is freely accessible. The well laid out French style garden with green shrubs and colorful flowering plants placed perfectly in harmony with sculptures of angels & cherubs. Chateau de la Hulpe is one of the sought after places for a destination wedding in Belgium!

I absolutely love this museum, which is dedicated to the extraordinary works of the Belgian artist Jean-Michel Folon (1934 - 2005). He produced hundreds of artworks as paintings, cartoons, sculptures and art objects such as his boat in a suitcase. His work appeared on - the cover of magazines such as The New Yorker, - postage stamps - stained glass windows - posters etc. He had a unique style of expressing his subject with simple but ingenious images such as his birds flying free from a hand used for the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. This museum is a bit of the beaten track and the parking is 300 m from the museum. Those with limited mobility can phone ahead for the barrier code. There is often a special exhibition too which costs extra. Count on 90 minutes for the main museum and 30 minutes for the special exhibition. Note that the museum is closed on Mondays. Recommended for a couple of well spent hours soaking up the genius of this remarkable artist. Afterwards you can relax in the on-site restaurant.

More than a gallery…this is an experience. Paintings, carvings, and other artist works that go beyond what you would normally expect of art, set in lovely grounds perfect for picnics and summer games. Highly recommend

Great trip with my family (wife, 2 kids and my mother). The path to the museum is closed to cars: a nice walk through the park next to the castle. We really enjoyed the exposed art - from painting, sculptures, posters, cards, stamps, … a nice journey into Folon’s world!

I went there on a weekday when the museum was quiet — a condition which suits the contemplative, often melancholy works of Folon. It’s a very well designed place which displays many of its artworks in little niches off winding corridors, giving a different atmosphere than many art museums. The staff are very friendly. The park around the museum, on a spring day with soft rain, is a wonderful composition of fresh greens.

Grew up going there, truly the best museum in the world. It truly changed me, the book opening, the maze, the intrigued, the starry night, it's been so so long but it still has an impact. It's the reason why I'm doing my Master's in museum studies.

Beautiful—just like Folon's paintings. The foundation nestled in a big nature. It offers a rare and valuable collection of Folon’s etchings and aquatints, which is truly a treat for people who love Folon. However, there are a few areas that could be improved: Lighting in the first watercolor gallery is not ideal. The lights are overly warm, casting a yellow hue that makes it difficult to appreciate the delicate details and transparency of the watercolor works. Many of the videos and animations shown throughout the foundation were produced decades ago, and their resolution and clarity fall short by today’s standards. With the advancements in modern restoration tools and AI technologies, it is entirely feasible to enhance and remaster these visuals. In an era of 4K and even 8K imagery, museums and cultural institutions should embrace technological updates to enrich the viewing experience.

Amazing place in the middle of a green park, views to the stunning nature and great to have a lunch break and disconnect. Lots of fresh dishes… simple but tasty and very fresh. Worth visiting! I had lunch outside on the terrace and it was just great. The waitresses were very nice 👍

A good place to have a bite of food when walking in the park. Especially in winter. Very good draft beer and nice warm soup. Kids are offered with pencils to be entertained.

It was the worst service I’ve ever had! The servers are incredibly rude! They forget the service… Our 3 year old child asked for one piece of small speculoos biscuits, and the waitress said we need to buy another drink for that. One little speculos biscuit!

Great location, very nice place to just have a beer outside after a day of roaming around La Hulpe Chateau. However, food menu is really poor, food is tasteless and expensive for portions and quality. Few years back they had better food, but now this is really just a place for having a drink.

This place used to serve my favourite Barbãr beer but not anymore, pity. Drink prices are normal but food is completely overpriced: 7-8€ for a lousy crepe au sucre is way too much.

Being in the middle of a big and beautiful park this is a pleasant taverne with lots of options for beverages and a good selection of food. Unfortunately when we went the kitchen was closed. The service is very friendly and amicable. Very well recommended before, after or during a long walk.

Beautiful lake and very peaceful place. Hardly 25 minutes Drive from Brussels. There are some good restaurants (The Laguna , Miss King etc.) where you can enjoy Italian Cuisines. Fishing is allowed here and Boating is also available depends on availability of boating company. You can walk around the entire lake.

Very romantic place.

Nice family restaurant. Belgian & French dishes. Fries are excellent, meals are appealing and generous... there is a slid outside for kids so it might be noisy but hey we love kids 💗 the terrace is well situated behind the restaurant so you won’t hear the cars.

The restaurant has a very good location. You can easily park your car or bicycle there. The staff are polite and helpful. There is a child corner as well so you don't have worry about your kids getting bored while you enjoy your food. The terase has a somewhat disharmonic feeling and looks unfinished which lovers the overall experience.

My wife chose this restaurant based on the good reviews here and the fact that it has a small playground right next to the tables, to keep the kids busy. The latter proved to be the only good thing about it. For drinks I ordered a "Virgin on the beach" expecting a big cocktail which, according to the menu, should contain orange juice and grenadine. As is evident in the photo, it contained none of those. My wife ordered a glass of Cointreau and got some transparent liquid which tasted like anything but. We ordered the Ernest burgers, two of us. One was ok, the other was raw minced meat as you can see in the other photo. Nobody asked us if we wanted our burgers raw or well done. Initially they brought us some plates which we were not sure if they were ours. 10 minutes later and after we had tasted some parts, a waitress came, realized they had made a mistake and just took the plates away to another table! When we got the bill, we had to ask them explicitly to remove the raw burger from the bill (which they did). Maybe it was a bad day, or maybe it's affected by COVID-19, but we won't go again anytime soon.

Cosy atmosphere, we came here for beers which was good. They have some special beers. I haven’t tried any of the food, so I cannot comment. The staff was very friendly. Only minus is that the service could be more efficient.
