Mammoth Mountain Ski Area, located to the southeast of Yosemite National Park, is a year-round destination offering 3,500 acres of terrain for skiers and snowboarders of all levels. The area hosts various recreational activities, events, and festivals throughout the year. It provides comfortable accommodation options ranging from budget rooms to luxury hotels with family restaurants and vibrant nightlife.
I had an amazing time at Mammoth Lakes Ski Resort! The views are absolutely breathtaking, and the slopes are perfectly maintained for all skill levels. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced skier, there’s something for everyone. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the entire atmosphere felt welcoming and energetic. I especially loved the variety of runs and the quality of the snow. The resort is well-organized, with great amenities, restaurants, and lift access. Can’t wait to come back—highly recommended for a perfect winter getaway!

I’m a beginner skier and this was the perfect place to brake me in. Great experience! Super expensive skiing here though so I don’t see myself doing it too often. But, it’s a great town with a fun mountain. (Would be five stars if not for the cost).
Shawn M — Google review
One of the greatest spots you'll ever go to. Many areas to explore and the mountain is so big that you will never get bored. All the stuff were nice and accommodating.. you can go biking, is electric biking and snow mobiling.

Mammoth Mountain is an incredible destination for skiers and snowboarders of all levels. The terrain is vast, with a great mix of groomed runs, challenging bowls, and fun park features. The lifts are modern and efficient, minimizing wait times even on busy weekends. I especially loved the variety of runs off Chair 23 and the stunning views from the summit — truly breathtaking. The snow conditions during my visit were excellent, with fresh powder and well-maintained trails. The resort is also very well-organized, with friendly staff and a good selection of dining options on the mountain. Whether you’re here for a weekend trip or a longer stay, Mammoth has something for everyone. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a top-tier California mountain experience.

We have an annual trip to the mammoth area to go off-roading in the back roads. Who drive into town to hit Mammoth Brewing get a burger another nice place. We have camped in Glass Creek Campground the past 2 years a nice area and great campsites

April 29, 2025: My first time skiing at Mammoth Mountain was my shortest ski day ever. I was shocked to learn last night that during this late-spring season, lifts open at the insanely early time of 7:30 a.m. (instead of normal 8:30, still way too early) and close at the obscenely early hour of 2 p.m.! (instead of normal 4:00; except for Chair 6, which stays open until 3 p.m.). 😲😲😡 I didn't get skis on until 12:39 p.m. (not a morning person). There was thunder as 2:00 neared -- first time I can ever recall hearing booms while skiing. When I got to Chair 1 at 1:57 for my last run off that area's terrain, I was stunned to see it already closed. Employees said all lifts closed early due to lightning in the area (I never saw any). Unbelievable. Time on skis = a record low of 1:18. I skied (likely also a record low) 7.3 miles today. The only precipitation while I was on the mountain was a little sleet before the thunder began. Lifts should run 9:30 or 10:00 to 4:30 or later. I've never been to a ski mountain in my entire life where they stopped at 2:00 p.m. (or anytime before 4:00 for that matter).
Lucas W — Google review
Glorious mountains, ski area and scenic views of several 3000m and 4000m snow capped peaks. It's a great destination for late spring/early summer skiers across California and Nevada thanks to the incredible elevations and north facing runs. Great place also for a day trip in the hearth of the beautiful mountains of Sierra Nevada. Very highly recommended for everyone!!!

HUGE mountain and fun for all skill levels. This place will def kick up your skill level. Don’t forget to pickup your Mammoth sticker to slap on your board/helmet/vehicle. Cheers

Minaret Vista, located west of Mammoth Lakes at an elevation of 1,986 ft, offers breathtaking views of Mammoth Mountain, the Minarets, Mount Ritter and Banner Peak. The jagged and dramatic Minarets are a prominent feature in the Ritter Range and serve as an iconic symbol of Mammoth Lakes.
This is another gem to get some amazing photos. We love coming here with our dogs and venturing into the woods. Our dogs have a blast.

Amazing views around sunset and no hike required, as parking is right there next to the lookout point. Parking can be tough though as it’s crowded, and it’s really cold due to the high elevation, even during July.
Justin M — Google review
I’m giving it a 5 because I think the views are normally stunning. They were still good a few days ago. But this area is experiencing smoke haze from the fires to the west and southwest. So it’s not the best time to see the mountain ranges. There are pit toilets but they smell to high heaven!
Terri S — Google review
Amazing spot for sunsets! I have been here twice. Once in later September and once beginning of October (pics with snow from October visit). Pretty chilly and fairly windy at sunset. Decent amount of parking. Both time I got to parking lot like 20 to 25 mins before sunset. I could see parking being an issue in summer when it is more crowded in Mammoth. Great scenery to both west and east.
Jimmer W — Google review
This vista is a great spot to watch both the sunrise and sunset. We went earlier this month for the sun rise and it was chilly. Make sure to wear warm clothes. There are picnic tables were you can enjoy your snacks and parking spaces right where you can see the mountain views. Take your time and just enjoy the view. You'll surely appreciate the beauty around you while you're there. Highly recommended!

Great stargazing spor. Go when there is no moon. We were there the night of the fall supermoon. We saw 3 shooting stars! Sunset is amazing. Best spot on Mammoth for sunset and stargazing.

Hiking Trails
Earthquake Fault, located near Mammoth Lakes in California, is a captivating natural wonder that offers visitors a glimpse into the earth's geological forces. This sinuous fissure, about half a mile long and up to 20 feet deep, was formed centuries ago by volcanic eruptions. Covered in snow for most of the year, it served as a natural freezer for Native Americans and early settlers.
Easy parking and not crowded at all. No one else was there except one older gentleman in the parking area who was probably an off duty park Ranger, as he told us all about the fault. This is not a safe place for younger kids, as they’ve fallen in according to the guy.
Justin M — Google review
Cool fissure but clearly whoever manages the place doesn't care. The fences around the walking path by the fissure has SIGNIFICANT portions down allowing anyone, especially a curious kid, potentially go right into the fissure. The maintenance is absolutely abysmal. There are no informational signs whatsoever. It looks like they started to make it ADA compliant and then changed their mind. It looks very neglected.
John M — Google review
Really cool spot if you’re into geology or just want to see something unique. There’s a small parking lot that holds about 10 cars, plus picnic tables and restrooms. It’s just west of Highway 203. Even though it’s called the “Earthquake Fault,” it’s actually a dramatic fissure, about 10 feet wide and nearly 60 feet deep. The trail is short and fenced in, but at some points you can cross the crack and snap some great photos. Best times to visit are early morning or late evening for the lighting.
Juliet J — Google review
Went here early October a couple years back. As seen in pics, it had already snowed. The pictures don't really do the place justice. Much better in person. Quite interesting to see the impacts of a distant earthquake. I went on a weekday and had no issues with parking. In summer and/or on weekends I could see parking being decently challenging. The fault is right close to the parking. I think I stayed like 15-30 mins, which seemed like plenty of time.
Jimmer W — Google review
We went early in the morning after the sun had risen. We were the second car in the parking area so it was nice and quite. Being there and seeing this earthquake fault in person was very interesting. We don't recommend going there with kids unless they're responsible enough to take the trail safely. You can easily spend hours there exploring, relaxing, and just enjoying the hike as you may encounter some wild animals like squirrels, chipmunks, and a coyote as we did.
Ellyn T — Google review
Really interesting the damage (and re-architecture) earthquakes do to the land. It kinda looks like the caretakers of the park are now using the fault as a place to throw in downed trees and cuttings. But it’s an interesting place.
Terri S — Google review
Intersting geological area. Becar3full of the gained cables though. Some if the hood posts are broken off.

Restaurant
Toomey's is a popular restaurant in Mammoth Lakes known for its creative American dishes, extensive wine and local beer selection, and baseball-themed decor with TVs. The breakfast menu offers a unique twist on classic dishes like coconut mascarpone pancakes and smoked trout bagels. Chef Matt Toomey, with 16 years of experience at the Mobil Mart near Yosemite, opened the restaurant in 2012.
Had an early dinner so wasn’t very crowded and found a seat immediately. Service was exceptional, our server was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and had some great recommendations for things to see in the area. Our food was excellent! I had fish and chips, it was prepared perfectly. My wife had steak, which was one of the evening specials, and she loved it. Prices were a bit on the expensive side but we both felt it was well spent as we enjoyed our time here.

Shout to ERIC!! Great service and even better recommendations. My brother and I just finished a day of fishing and was ready to eat! We asked Eric what he recommended and we went with it. Did not disappoint! We had the Lamb and Steak specials. yummy! Also with Old Fashion and Manhattan. Great portions. Unfortunately no room for desert. :). next time!

Staff was extremely kind and positive energy. Food was amazing, large portion sizes. When I asked about gluten free, the waitress took the time to ask if it was due to Celiac since they would have to prepare it differently.
Bridget W — Google review
We had a great dining experience thanks to our server Anna and her suggestions. We started with the Caesar salad and the soup of the day, which was cream of mushroom. I had the buffalo meatloaf, which was fantastic while my wife had to New York strip which she also enjoyed. Watched a little of the World Series while we were eating our dinner and a sports themed baseball dining room. Got the carrot cake to go cause we’re too full after having such a wonderful meal.

Great service. Price is high but the portion is big and the flavor is great too. There are not a lot of choices in the menu but there is still plenty of meats or seafood to choose from. The restaurant is decorated with baseball scenes and has a relaxed atmosphere.

Very nice place in Mammoth. We were greeted right away and sat at the table of our choice. Everyone in the staff was very friendly and everyone had a smile. Anna assisted us today and she was great. The other staff was also amazing. Everyone was very attentive, but not excessive. The food was great. We had a party of 5 with a kiddo and everyone loved their meals. Dessert was delicious and completed the meal. Definitely a place to come when visiting for us non locals.

Very nice Restaurant with insanely tasty food. We ordered Fish and Chips and the ‚Taquitos‘. Both meals tasted great. The service was very friendly. We came 30 minutes before closing and they welcomed us and offered us their hospitality in a great way.

Wish I took a photo of the food but it was too good to wait! We had the Ahi Tuna small plate a fish and chips. Both great! Ahi Tuna had great seasoning and sauce. Fish and chips was perfectly battered and a generous portion. Shoutout to our server Brian who was super attentive and warm. The owner has great energy and the place is super personable. Loved every second. Bonus: they have super cool fire pit tables outside.

Mammoth Brewing Company, established in 1995, is a renowned craft brewery located in Mammoth Lakes. The brewery features a tasting room and beer garden where visitors can sample a variety of their beers and enjoy delicious bites. With popular year-round brews like Golden Trout Kolsch, Yosemite Pale Ale, Epic IPA, and Double Nut Brown, as well as seasonal and rotating selections, there's something for every beer enthusiast.
Food was delicious, beer was cold and service was great. Went on a mini date after a day at the slopes. Atmosphere was perfect, food and drinks served in a timely manner. Good views even at night. Seating areas and restrooms were clean. We’ll without a doubt return on our next trip to Mammoth!

This place was really good. Plenty of seating indoors and out. The outdoor area lights at night look great. Enjoyed the falafel tacos and veggie burger with side waffle fries. Both good and love rat they had options for non meat eaters. The non alcoholic tap root beer was perfect amount of sweetness with a natural taste. Recommend. Good service too.
MJGD — Google review
A very unique experience. First of all, if you sit outside, you place your order online through your phone — very modern, and honestly I think it’s a smart way to lighten the load for the staff. That said, the prices feel a bit high for a place where you seat yourself, place your own order without staff interaction, and pay upfront (I’ll never understand how I’m supposed to leave a tip for service that hasn’t even been provided yet). As for the food: the pizza was on the small side — definitely not enough to fill up a hungry guy on its own. But to be fair, it was delicious, no doubt about that. Now, the beer? Absolutely amazing — truly some of the best I’ve had in the state. That alone makes this spot worth checking out. I’d recommend this place for the great outdoor vibe, excellent beer, and tasty pizza. Just keep in mind it’s more of a place for a light bite rather than a full meal.
Tsova A — Google review
Drinks: The root beer is hands down the best thing to drink here. I would definitely recommend it to anybody who likes root beer. Golden Trout Kolsch is a smooth blonde. Love the taste. Contains German noble hops? Pilsner malt, and yeast. Great beer to just chill with. Mammoth Pilsner was good. Can't really taste the honey or Graham crackers, though. The floral definitely helps give it that unique taste. Yosemite Pale Ale was not my favorite of the flights. A little too strong in taste for me. Double Nut Brown Porter was good. The coffee and nutty taste compliments each other and stands out enough to enjoy. Great to consume with food. Epic IPA is a good IPA. Don't really taste the fruit, but it is smooth to drink. IPA 395 taste better than the Epic IPA. The earthy taste is very unique and refreshing to drink. The sage is very prominent in the taste. Hop Spill Hazy is a good IPA. Probably the best IPA here if you are fan of IPA. Peyton's pilsner tropical flavor is subtle but good. Food: The waffle fries here are pretty good when it's fresh. They were able to replaced the bad batch. Worth trying the fries. Staff: All the staffs were nice and friendly. Very helpful with providing information. Overall, I would come back here to try other things. They have the games playing on the televisions. Plenty of seats as well.
Steven B — Google review
First off: this place ain't cheap! Secondly: they definitely get the food right. The onion rings were terrific with a cornmeal crust. Nice and crunchy like they're supposed to be. The fish and chips again is not cheap but it is real deal fresh fried cod and comes out hot and tasty and crispy and the tartar sauce is definitely worth a shot. We also got the shrimp appetizer which was surprisingly good and not rubbery or any of the other stuff people get away with... This place is definitely worth a stop!
Kevin B — Google review
I was so looking forward to going to this brewery because I love their beer. But I was totally disappointed when I was seated at a table and given a plaque with a QR code to order food with my phone. Then you have to pay on your phone to complete your food order, and are then prompted to leave a 20% tip! Tip for what? No Service what so ever! You then have to get up, stand in line to order a beer, and carry it back to your table, and they want a tip for that, too! What is happening in this world when everyone expects a tip for no service?
Kevin H — Google review
Pleasantly surprised they were pretty good. Got the beer flight it was massive, more than 50% were pretty good & the staff was nice about switching out an IPA for a different local beer for no extra cost. We went with the birria tacos & spicy shrimp both were pretty tasty.
Holly K — Google review
Really love this place! Maybe my favorite in Mammoth. We ordered the BBQ chicken flatbread, cheese flatbread and brussel sprouts salad. It was a lot of food and so yummy! The kids loved the root beer and my husband and I enjoyed the pilsner beer. I want to come back to try more beers and food. Tip: there's a pool table downstairs. We had a fun family game after dinner.

Canyon Lodge is a great place to start your ski adventure, offering rentals and lessons for beginners. The area also features miles of groomed trails for snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. At Tamarack Lodge, guests can enjoy mountain bike lessons, guided hikes, and fly fishing classes in a historic setting with well-equipped rooms. Visitors can also relax at Canyon Lodge during the day or after skiing to enjoy the view and entertainment.
It was my very first time at Canyon Lodge and maybe 3rd time snowboarding, so I'm still a newbie. I wanted to do the beginner lift tickets so I can only use Lifts 7 and 17 (Schoolyard). Both were fun greens that helped me progress. We got there super early since I had a lot to do: rentals, lockers, snowboard waxed, etc. It was already getting kinda crowded due to the rain. By lunch, the inside of Canyon Lodge was PACKED. It took us about 15 min just to find seating for 2 people to eat. Everyone just wanted to be inside and warm up. Food choices were alright and basic. Nothing to complain. Chili, chicken tenders, Mexican station with burritos and bowls, Italian station with pasta and pizza, salad station. I wasn't too hungry, so the chili and cornbread hit the spot. Great place if you can get there early so you don't HAVE to do Main Lodge. HUGE shoutouts to 2 workers who were the biggest homies in helping me out - Saxton in Rentals and Cody in Repairs. I know people who work here usually have this cool, chill vibes, but these 2 were not only that, but they were professional and knew how to help me figure out what I needed. Those two helped me start my day with a more excited anticipation mood than anxious and nervous.

Well, Mammoth is exquisite. As a skiing noob, canyon is my go-to. The green lifts there deliver entry level skiers into a most marvelous wonderland. And the lodge itself is fabulous. All the services. Great staff. Decent bar food. Capacity. Much superior to eagle, although I love the skiing at eagle -- but that lodge sucks. Highly recommended.

Large modern ski lodge. Escalators come down to the parking lot, which is very nice and ski boots. Bathrooms on all floors except where the cafeteria is, #Fail. Gets pretty crowded around lunchtime, no microwave, go to McCoy or Main for a microwave oven use. Great after skiing apré DJs

This is my usual starting point at mammoth, the late out is easy to follow and there is lots of room for the crowds. The store has lots of good items. Best of all the new chair lift is awesome .

Love coming to the lodge. It was modernized and the escalators make a big difference. Lots of options for ski/snowboarding. Rentals, tuneup, store, cafee and a great bar, plus there is a good restaurant on the top floor.
Kasia E — Google review
We tried to bring food to reheat but there was no microwave available. Better yet the grizzly Cafe was closed so the only place to get food was the coffee stand. Two cold pieces of pizza later, not too happy.
Jordan S — Google review
Parking is a bit$h. Find a convenient bus (free) stop where you're staying, bring your equipment to the first floor and store it for $4-5 the night before you start (come after 3) and every day you're enjoying the slopes. Unfortunately they (whoever they are) have reassigned a lot of the token lockers to long term tenants so this may not work for you. Check other reviews for timely info. But really, the bus (free) is the way to go, especially if you're not efficient at putting on chains after that dump you chased. 😉

Mammoth Mountain is an 11,059-ft. lava dome mountain that offers a winter ski resort and summer biking activities. The area also features the Lakefront Restaurant, located within the Tamarack Lodge on the shores of Mammoth's Twin Lakes, offering fine dining with a French-inspired menu by chef Frederic Pierrel.
One of the best resort to ski or hike in altitude north of LA. Between 4 and 5 hours drive from LA, these mountains are a fantastic getaway destination either for ski in the winter or splendid hikes during the summer. Winters can be pretty packed so if you can try to favor off-peak times. Summer is definitely less crowded and it’s one of the best kept secret for long hikes and breathtaking views.

I've been coming to Mammoth in winter and summer as a small child. The mountain has amazing scenery and great snow. I highly recommend a visit for anyone that hasn't been. The only reason I would not give 5 stars is because of what they have done with the Ikon pass. It is no longer fun to go during the weekend, it's just way to over crowded and your stuck waiting in line more than on the slopes unless you have a black pass. That said, mid week it's empty and a great time

Best skiing resort in California as far as I'm concerned! This place is MASSIVE and it has something for everyone, whether you're looking for super steep terrain, trees, or beginner runs. It has one of the longest ski seasons in the nation as well! Check out the apres scene at Canyon Lodge after your day.

We went to this center to get some advice about the lakes around here. There was an Australian accent 50+ years old staff who was very rude and did want to help. She tried to answer no more than a few words of our questions and gave no further response for any details we needed to know. Her facial expression was “get out and don’t come back!” The second female staff, a blonde about 40 years old also had the same attitude: “ don’t bother me, go away!”

As someone with 30 years in the tourism industry, I was very disappointed in the service, or lack thereof, at this "welcome" center. We woke up in the Mammoth Lakes area to horrible smoke. In our attempt to fill our day we stopped at the beautiful visitor center to browse. An elderly woman entered and inquired about the fire, its potential danger, location, and whether it might be out soon. The employee behind the counter couldn't have been more rude and exhibited an attitude while barely answering the woman's questions with one word responses. As a manager of a visitor center I would never accept that kind of behavior from an employee. As I entered the building I witnessed a handwritten sign instructing people to download an app for fire information. I instantly got a feeling that someone inside either didn't have information or didn't want to share information. Any welcome or information center employee should go above and beyond to help people. The woman inquiring was noticeably concerned about the fires. Even if that staff person didnt have information on the fires, she should have looked it up for the elderly woman. Very disappointing for such a well stocked and beautiful center. Mananagement needs to do better with hiring and/or training.

The Mammoth Lakes Visitor Center is a great first stop when you’re new to the area. It’s right in town, surrounded by beautiful trees, and has plenty of brochures, maps, and gift items. The staff are super friendly and help you find the best spots based on your interests. Clean restrooms are available too. Definitely worth stopping by before you start exploring Mammoth Lakes!

Poorly informed. I was told by a confident sounding rep here that I would not be able to drive Reds Meadow road Fri morning before the shuttle runs. Found out later from the shuttle driver and several others that I definitely could have done that.

While there is hiking and biking available you can still go up the gondola and find snow. There are frequent siting of bear and dear right on the road. You can see them in the photos

Nice people in the visitor center and professional. Nice gift shop too. Mammoth lake is very beautiful area I highly recommend to visit that place and spend some time. The village is also nice you will find shops and restaurants. Prices are quite high but the area is wonderful. I highly recommend it. Take some time to walk around the forest and do some trails. Enjoy!

Staff here are really nice and knowledgeable. They answered all of our questions and gave us a lot of hiking tips. Merch here are cool.

We walked here for our last dinner in mammoth . It always looked like it was a poppin spot so we gave it a go and oh my goodness ! Turned out to be the best place we had dinner at in mammoth ! I can’t believe it . I thought it was going to something like bar food but it was so delicious ! For a veggie burger a slaw salad and a flat bread pizza ! Everything was delicious and it was such a fun spot with good vibes and good service ! So happy we came !!
Nikki A — Google review
Not only does their food not match the description, the staff doesn't care. The pepperoni flatbread pizza is advertised as a half pound of pepperoni. See the attached photo. The onion rings were very clearly fried twice, the onions were burnt and the breading was splitting off the rings. The side salad was premade and had wilted and the croutons were stale. When addressed with the wait staff, instead of taking action to correct, they told me they "knew what it should look like" and then asked me what I wanted to do about it. Their phone ordering system is terrible and no options to add more dressings or sauces until after they are delivered. We will not be back. This place has gone downhill and nobody really seems to care. Too bad.

It was about 4 in the afternoon when we sat down, expecting an easy pizza stop. The sun was still high, the place had that casual daytime hum, and I thought this would be a simple in-and-out. Instead, the experience started off rocky with their QR code ordering system. The menu itself was straightforward, but then came the hoops: type in your phone, your email, drop card info into a third-party site, and before a slice even hit the table, my inbox was buzzing with texts. The part that really stuck out? The app asked for tips before service even started. That’s not hospitality — that’s backwards. Thankfully, once the food showed up, things improved. We shared two flatbread pizzas — pepperoni and BBQ chicken — both fresh, with a thin crispy crust and toppings that actually worked. The pepperoni had that nostalgic comfort, while the BBQ chicken brought a sweet-savory kick that stood out. For Boise, it felt a little elevated compared to the usual chain pie. The bill for the two pizzas came to $42.66. Not outrageous, but for a casual 4PM bite, it lands on the higher side. Still, the flavor held its ground and kept the meal from being a total miss. Final call: solid 3.5 stars. The pizzas deserve love, the ordering system needs a rethink. At the end of the day, I’d come back for the BBQ chicken flatbread — but I’d much rather order from a human than from an app.

Great atmosphere, friendly staff, great service and horrible food. I ordered a Caesar salad with grilled chicken. I received a Caesar salad with hard as a rock barbecued chicken. It was terrible. I tried to pick the chicken out as best I could. Without the chicken the salad was ok. The server was excellent and removed the chicken from out bill. My husband ordered a burger that he said was average. The beer was good and they allowed me to sample a few first. Again, the staff are excellent and the place has a great vibe.

We truly enjoyed ourselves! My husband and I got to enjoy our time at The Eatery before the kids came up - Steak Sandwich, Damn Good Burger and Pork Rinds. We also enjoyed a round of the seasonal tasting flight, liked that one so much we got a tasting flight of the originals! Love our time so much we took the kids back twice! Chicken Tacos, Grilled Peach & Goat Cheese Flatbread Pizza, and pork belly tacos - YUMMY! Very casual, dogs are welcome (outside). They also have musical guests play as well. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

came here for dinner after riding the bike park. went up to the host stand and waiting to be seated. another group came up behind me to wait to be seated as well. when the host came she ignored me and seated them first. i don’t know what that was about. then while waiting, another group came and she seated them before me again. i was just one person to be seated, she took her time to seat two other groups. when she finally seated me she just pointed to an open table and told me to go sit there then scan to order. she didn’t even walk me to the table. i ordered on my phone and staff just dropped off my beer and food. beer was fine, food was mid. not worth the price they charge. when the food runner dropped off my food she asked if i needed anything. i asked her if i could get a glass of water and she just pointed to a spout with a bunch of glasses by them and told me i can pour myself some water what the hell am I even tipping for? i didn’t get service, i got instructions. if you can go anywhere else to eat then do yourself a favor and skip this place. they don’t make good food, they make food that is edible. the beer is good though, i’ll give them that.

I really enjoyed the beer, especially the Belgian tripel. The outdoor ambiance was hard to beat with Mammoth mountains overhead, but the indoor space was lackluster. The menu was simple but the offerings were high quality and tasty. The aptly named, Damn Good Burger was, well, damn good. The bun was fresh, warm, and soft. The meat was flavorful and perfectly cooked. The bacon jam really put it over the top.

It's a bit of a walk from the hotel but certainly within a manageable distance. Being able to enter without a reservation, I found it to be quite a hidden gem. Water is self-service, but the staff brings the food to your table. They offer a great selection of delicious local beers. The food tends to be rich in flavor, which makes it perfect with the beer and the cold climate. Additionally, they have Wi-Fi available.

Bar
Burgers Restaurant is a popular spot for hearty American classics like burgers, ribs, salads, and sandwiches. The restaurant offers generous portions in a cozy cabin-like setting, making it the perfect place to refuel after a day of outdoor activities like skiing or mountain biking. Their menu features mouth-watering hamburgers made from fresh ground Choice Beef, including options like the Mammoth Burger for big appetites and a buffalo burger for something different.
The name of this restaurant says it all, you are going there for burgers and burgers only. Good selection for carnivores however only one single choice for vegetarian, but that’s a good one with their Veggie melt. Not sure what’s salt/spice they add to the fries but it’s definitely great and give a good flavor. Good selection also of beers and -surprisingly - of wines. Definitely a great spot also to accommodate large groups, service is nice and fast.

A place called Burgers should try and make better more flavorful burgers. The Bacon Cheeseburger was mediocre. Tasted like the burger was quickly heated up, and it took only about two minutes to receive our food would validate this assumption. The fries were warm, but definitely not fresh. The bison Burgers was flavorless, a few of us tasted it, and no seasoning. The service was great and kudos on that aspect. From my perspective trying to make quick food rather than great food.
Rick B — Google review
Burgers are not charcoal cooked and the side dishes are subpar.Bison burger is delicious although the bread is unbearable! For the half pound burger the meat was tasteless and the sliced bread was awful! No available dessert although was prominently featured. No posted schedule . An unpredictable service.Only Indoors tables and really poor water quality.

We were starving and our food came out super fast! The cheese burger was huge and tasty. Filled me up. Kids got the chicken tenders and everyone was satisfied with their choice! Service was great and the milkshake was a good ending to a delicious dinner. The atmosphere was nice, but pretty packed. Nothing fancy just good food and good service!

Really nice, I had grilled veggies and loved all the different bits and bobs (garlic bread, baked potato and salad). The actual grilled veggies seemed undercooked and underwhelming, but I enjoyed myself and the rest of the plate was delicious and 10/10. Wish there was cheese in the baked potato and maybe slightly smaller portions overall, but otherwise I would recommend this place and hope to return.

Not impressed. It's terribly expensive-terribly, the food was not any good, and the customer service was a giant disappointment. Oh goodness, the customer service... I truly cannot remember the last time we had such a rude/brash waitress, and her service skills were a hot mess. She forgot so much of the order and she was just unpleasant. It was so bad... Six of us were smashed into a tiny table, and it was a long wait for our order as well. I ordered the pastrami sandwich and cheese fries. Not good. The cheese fries were unappetizing: cold, old tasting fries with shredded cheddar half-melted/broiled on. I couldn't even eat them. No one in our party could. The sandwich was a giant disappointment as well. Out of all six of us, no one finished their meal. I need not say anymore. I'd give it a hard pass.

The Breakfast Club is a cozy and inviting breakfast spot that offers a wide range of classic American dishes, including eggs benedict and turkey melt. Located in Mammoth Lakes, it provides hearty and delicious meals in generous portions to fuel your day. Situated near the intersection of Main Street/CA-203, this eatery is part of a collection of restaurants offering diverse dining options in the area.
Unbelievable place that you need to check out! We were immediately seated and chose to sit outside. The gentleman who seated us was so friendly and upbeat. I ordered an omelet and my husband ordered the crab Benedict. DELICIOUS!!! Our servers were so attentive with drink refills, and our food came extremely fast. I’ve never left a review before, but was so impressed, it’s my first!

Excellent! The customer service is exceptional, the owner himself takes the time to help, take orders, and greet customers. I ordered pancakes and crispy bacon, and my husband ordered a chorizo omelet; both were divine. The next day, I ordered Avocado toast with crispy bacon, sprouts, and balsamic vinegar. YUM-ME. They have amazing-looking pastries. I didn't indulge, but I wanted to. A great place for breakfast or brunch if you're in the area.

Good breakfast. I got the Denver omelet with bacon substitute and was really good and filling. My son got French toast which was really good! We also recommend the biscuit and gravy on a homemade biscuit. Forgot to mention the honey, cinnamon latte yummmm

Other than the hair on my bacon it was really good. I didn’t ask for a refund, mistakes happen, not a big deal. The bacon were thick and cooked great, the eggs were good, the people were nice. I’d go back.

I absolutely love this place! The food is outstanding, the staff Including the cooks are amazing and the place is clean. I absolutely love their hash brown potatoes, homemade in-house, never frozen— You can't beat them! I could honestly review every dish they have and they would all get a raving review. The omelettes don't skimp on cheese, the gravy is beyond words… Even the bread they use for toast is fantastic. They have an espresso machine for fancy coffees and they even serve alcohol. If you're wondering which place to go get breakfast in Mammoth, this is the place!

Restaurant
Mogul Restaurant is a family-friendly cabin that has been a local favorite since 1971. It is known for its traditional American cuisine, particularly its famous steaks, prime rib, fresh fish, and pasta. The restaurant also offers a fresh garden salad bar with most entrees and an extensive selection of wines and cocktails to complement your meal. Additionally, early bird specials are available for those who dine within the first half hour of the restaurant opening.
My partner and I had such an incredible dinner here last night that we both, without even discussing it, decided to come back again tonight. The service is truly exceptional. The gentleman who served us is the most friendly, attentive, and personable server I've ever meet. We were seated in a spot with a view of the open kitchen, where we could see the chefs preparing the various steaks and seafood. The kitchen was very clean. I can see the meat and ingredients were of pretty high quality. I ordered the New York steak, cooked medium, and the doneness was absolutely perfect. A note on the drinks: My partner had a Margarita last night, and I loved the flavor but I’m not big at alcohol. Today, I asked our server if they could make a virgin version. It arrived quickly and was exactly what I wanted. A few moments later, the server returned to check if the flavor was good for me. Overall, this was a perfect 10/10 experience across the board, from the impeccable service to the fantastic food. We will definitely be back whenever we have the chance!

Great service decent food The filet was just ok but nothing to brag about The white fish was above average but not spectacular. Our server Scott was fantastic, one of the best servers we’ve ever had. The place is simple and nice clean but not fancy The dessert was excellent Cinnamon charlotte was phenomenal! The mango sorbet was delicious

We recently visited The Mogul for the full “Animal Protein” experience and everything was mostly great. Among our group, we tried the chicken, fish, and steak. The steak lovers in our group were very happy , it was juicy and cooked well. The fish was decent too. However, the chicken didn’t meet our expectations. The staff was nice, especially two gentlemen who greeted us with a warm, welcoming. Overall, I recommend this restaurant for a nice dinner outing in Mammoth Lakes. Just a tip: it’s better to make a reservation,, Also, note that they open after 5:30 PM

If you wanna have a nice piece of protein (fish or pork or steak or elk chop), here is the spot. The fire grill gives a full flavor profile to your meat. Overall, pretty good environment. Staffs are friendly.

Great food and service, a special thanks to Taylor who saved our day! We walked in without reservation on 4th of July evening, and obviously they were booked. So we walked outside to Google something else when Taylor run out of the restaurant, searching for us to tell they just got a cancelation. It was so kind of him to look after us, he litteraly saved our day because our toddler was getting hungry. Stephen was our waiter and cook (!), he was fast and very professional. The food was great and at a reasonable price point. We really enjoyed this place!
Elena G — Google review
If you're in the mood for a quality, properly cooked steak; look no more!!! We ordered medium rare ribeyes. The entrees come with a choice of side, steamed veggies and freshly baked bread. Everything was absolutely delicious. The server was attentive, engaging and very friendly. She took our orders promptly and the food was ready very quickly. The beef tasted like one expects a great cut to taste. Deep flavor, well marbled, properly trimmed and seared to perfection. This restaurant has been in business since 1971 and there is an unmistakable reason why: Quality food and quality staff. Put this restaurant on your "must go" list for your next visit to The Village, you won't be disappointed!!!

Arturo was probably the most professional waiter we have ever had. The food was amazing they sang a song for my daughter. If 10 stars were possible they would have 11
Renee V — Google review
This was a disappointment from the minute we walked in the door and we should have left. Reception guy had us wait when we had a reservation and the restaurant was nearly empty. It was almost a power play. Waitress started with, What do you think you'd like to have for dinner? No offer of a drink to start! When I asked about fish, she basically said, yes, we have fish and we grill it. She bragged about being there for well over 20 years. After twenty years she didn't know to take a drink order first? The best staff we encountered was Juan. He was plesant and efficient and we truly appreciated him. This is an expensive option for dinner which is fine but staff overall does not measure up. Limited menu options, again okay but no steak or other options for a smaller appetite. I ended up with an appetizer. Truly disappointing. More disappointed in myself for not leaving while I still had no drink on the table!

Day 2

North side of town
For day 2, we recommend exploring the north side side of town. Start the day off with Hot Creek Geologic Site, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to The Stove. All together, your day would be filled with about 8 hours of non-stop fun.

Hot Creek Geologic Site

Hiking area
Hot Creek Geologic Site is a fascinating geological phenomenon in the Mammoth area, featuring steaming hot water, bubbling springs, fumaroles, and spontaneous geyser eruptions. It's a great spot for observing natural wonders and is surrounded by rocky cliffs. The site is constantly changing, offering visitors the chance to see new hot springs or geysers with each visit.
Neat place to visit and it doesn't require a lot of time. You can walk down towards the river and see the hot springs bubbling in the river. The most surprising thing was the amount of fish that you'll see swimming around - apparently its a well known river to fish with 6000-12000 rainbow, brown and cutthroat trout per a mile. You used to be able to swim here, but the forest service changed that because the water temperature varies too much. We did see a couple of small fish dead by a spout, so swimmers beware.
Daniel B — Google review
Breathtaking views in every direction, though it seems somewhat dangerous. No protective fencing preventing people from getting too close to or falling into the steaming water. You have to be careful walking upstream as there’s hidden steaming puddles you can’t really see until you’re right over them.
Justin M — Google review
This site is located a few miles off of highway 395. Some portions of the road are unpaved. But if you like seeing natural areas this is a nice place to visit. This spot is also just downstream from a fish hatchery. So, there are lots of people fishing.
Tino P — Google review
It was a beautiful place, it’s such a unique place. I have been coming to the Mammoth area for years and I just found out about it. I wish it was better advertised. We went during the warmest part of the day, and as you can see, there isn’t much shade, so on hot days the heat can feel very oppressive. Make sure you bring water and sunscreen with you. Water is scalding hot so getting in the water is prohibited. But the trail itself was nice and we enjoyed our time there.
Frank R — Google review
This is a gem of the National First Service. The river runs between vibrant grasses and has hot springs bubbling into it. A favorite for trout fishing. An easy walk down into the gorge after driving the last mile on a dirt road. Beautiful. Saturday afternoon, sunny, mid October, not many visitors. 15 minutes from Mammoth Lakes.
Bob O — Google review
Hot Creek Geologic Site is one of those spots that never gets old. Every time I visit, the views of the steaming blue pools against the Sierra backdrop are just as jaw-dropping. The geothermal springs here are wild to see up close, but definitely don’t touch: the water is dangerously hot and unpredictable, so swimming or soaking is a hard no. There are plenty of warning signs, and for good reason. Better to stick to the trails and enjoy the views from a safe distance. If you’re into fly fishing, this stretch of creek is legendary for its crystal-clear water, beautiful scenery, and solid chances at hooking some trout. The hike down is short but can get steep in places, so trekking poles help if you’ve got mobility concerns. I wouldn’t recommend bringing pets or small kids since there are no railings and the hot springs can be risky. If you’re craving a soak, check out Wild Willy’s Hot Springs nearby instead. Bonus: the drive in is easy for most cars, there’s plenty of parking, and the sunsets here are unreal, perfect for photos or just soaking in the Eastern Sierra vibes.
Giovanni — Google review
I had the opportunity to explore some of fascinating geographical sites, including Inyo crater and mono lake, with my brother and newphew last weekend. The vivid blue pools and steaming vents surrounded by rugged terrain made for a dramatic landscape.

Convict Lake, nestled in the Sherwin Range section of the Sierra Nevada mountains, is a picturesque destination with a storied past. Its turquoise waters and surrounding mountains offer a serene setting for various activities, with trout fishing being a popular choice among visitors. The lake got its name from an 1871 encounter between convicts and law enforcement near Convict Creek. Despite its dark history, the area's natural beauty and crystal-clear waters make it an appealing spot for outdoor enthusiasts.
Convict Lake in the fall is breathtaking! We did the short 2.5 mile walk around the lake and were surrounded by beauty the entire time. Highly recommend !

Visited Convict Lake in Mammoth and did the loop hike around the lake—absolutely amazing! The trail is easy and relaxing, offering stunning visuals of the crystal-clear lake surrounded by dramatic mountain backdrops. Every turn gives you a new angle that’s picture-perfect. The reflections on the water are gorgeous, and the peaceful atmosphere makes it a must-do whether you’re hiking, fishing, or just soaking in the views. A true gem in the Mammoth area!

Such a lovely lake in all seasons! My girlfriend and I visited in the winter and it was stunning, such cool waves and mountain views. There is a nice 3-mile trail around the lake that I did in the springtime, it's very lovely. We also saw a really cool red-tailed hawk here too! Be sure to check out Convict Lake while in the Mammoth area :)

Beautiful lake with crystal clear water and light 2.5 mile hike that loops around. Plenty of parking, and the lot is right next to the welcome shack where you can borrow life jackets (for free!) and rent boats/kayaks (prices included in my attached picture). The staff were also super friendly. There’s a launching area where we pumped up our rafts and set sail. It’s kinda the inlet where boats leave out to the main lake/return. My group of 4 rowed from the launching zone to the other end in about an hour where we hung out at a little beach area. Despite there being a few boats, there was almost no visible water pollution and not once did we encounter rowdy parties on a boat. It was very serene and the water temperature was excellent to cool off in from the July heat. I’d absolutely come here again

They say that best views come from the hardest climb, to which Convict lake sets an example to prove it completely wrong. These views are so accessible for anyone, if you want you can enjoy these views from the car, however I suggest that you need to walk this trail and enjoy it to the fullest. We visited this place in End of May 2024 . I was so underestimating this lake due to its easy access and the pictures not doing justice for this mountain and lake. When we visited , it was a bit chilly and the sun was playing hide and seek. The lake color was so visible when in sun , such turquoise waters. The Mount Laurel in the background of lake was so amazing, the sheer hugeness of the mountain so blew me away. The Convict lake & Mount Laurel surely are the match made in heaven. The loop is close to 3 miles long and you can walk for how much ever you want to , we walked closed to one/ one and half mile , went to the beach and took in the views for good amount of time and returned back. I will definitely add this lake to your list when on US 395. I just love this place , and in some way when entering this region it reminded me of Europe. Even the drive to get to this place is breathtaking.

Beautiful lake, it's one of the most accessible lakes in the Mammoth area since you can drive right up to it. I recommend walking on the trail that wraps around the lake, it's pretty flat. Decent amount of parking here, but most of the spots do get filled.

The store is known for its excellent selection of ski boots and gear, with helpful staff who provide great assistance without being pushy. Customers praise the friendly and patient service when renting or purchasing skiing equipment. Additionally, the store offers expert boot fitting services to address any discomfort or pain associated with ski or snowboard boots.
It's a must stop on every visit to MM. While mom and daughter are getting fitted for demo boots and skis, gives me an opportunity to always find some cool new gear for my BC adventures and other activities in the area (climbing, biking, skating, etc). Super friendly and helpful staff make this a no brainer when it comes to anything ski related. See you next time.

This place was my last hope for some ski soles that shredded. My boots are older and they happened to have one pair of replacements. They installed them on-the-spot. This totally made an otherwise challenging day super good. Thanks, Footloose. You just gained a faithful customer.

Great options here for purchase or rental. The staff is knowledgeable and very helpful! Well stocked store. Ryan was super helpful today!

We are reviewing the bike rental, not the store. The bikes were high quality and there was a lot to choose from. There were several employees standing around who didn’t seem to know what was going on so it seemed a bit disorganized. We got electric bikes and rode to the lakes, which was an amazing ride. Bikes are $35/hr or $70/4 hours. It’s a little pricey, but not surprised. We had no issues with our bikes and would rent from there again.

Huge thanks to the amazing crew at Footloose Sports! My Di2 battery died just a day before the Mammoth Gran Fondo, (the day I arrived from NJ) and no shop had the charger for my bike. Their mechanics went the extra mile, calling a friend who lent one. And two hours later my bike was ready. When I offered to pay, they just said they were happy I would make the start line. Truly awesome people!

Alexis and Salvador had great service! with positive attitude and feedback helping me and my family with bike rentals and gave me great recommendations and guidance!! Would recommend these workers to friends and family! Definitely coming back next summer!

Amazing store to rent skiing equipment or even to buy new ones in Mammoth Lakes. Friendly and very patient staff. They will answer most questions patiently in order to try to help the customer and give a great experience. The guys at the shoe fitting/testing are outstanding, they make sure you get the right skiing shoes size and you are comfortable with it by assisting the customer through the process of testing the skiing shoes on.

Mammoth Rock 'N' Bowl is a multifaceted entertainment venue that caters to various interests. With a bowling alley in the basement, a lounge on the main floor, and an upscale brasserie on the top floor boasting stunning views of Sherwin Mountains and the National Park Reserve, it offers something for everyone. The Mammoth Rock Brasserie serves organic ingredients paired with an impressive selection of spirits and wines.
We had a private room with close to 30 people and it was really nice. The room was a little on the dark side, but we were very happy to get a private room. The food was excellent and had lots of good choices for the adult. The younger kids were very happy that they could order pizza from the bowling alley downstairs, so everyone was really happy. We stayed pretty late because it was a memorial dinner for the grandparents so there were lots of speeches. The staff was just great and very friendly and told us to take our time and never rushed us. We will diffently go back diffently time.

The staff was very friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend the creamy mushroom soup—it was so delicious that I’d go back just for it. The caramel brûlée was also excellent. However, the rest of the dishes were fairly average.

Brasserie located in the Rock 'N' Bowl is a delicious find in Mammoth Lakes. It's a French, upscale (but still casual) restaurant located on the second floor above the bowling alley. We had the wild mushroom strudel, escargot and duck. We highly recommend all three. The French soup looked marvelous and the dessert options were expansive. The service was wonderful and friendly as well as very helpful with wine selection.

Amazing food paired with the best service rivaling any fine dining in LA. A goto every year when we come. The Ribeye, short rib, beef carpaccio, and elk are all memorable and there isnt enough room on this forum to describe each well enough to do them justice.

I've visited this place tens of times, and it never disappoints. The food quality, service and atmosphere are always great. Their regular menu is already very good, but they always have some specials. Visited them on my summer trip, and enjoyed the views on a chill Friday evening.

This place deserves more recognition. A hidden French restaurant gem with an amazing chef serving up the best elk and fish. The loup de mer, elk medallions, and saffron grouper are CHEF’s KISS. Truly a great find in mammoth. Also they have a great view! The wine list is great and service is always impeccable.

Highly recommend this place for your wedding or large group event. The food is amazing, Stephan is incredibly easy to work with, and the backdrop is beautiful. Bowling is always a plus too! We had an amazing time at our wedding there and are so so glad we chose the Brasserie/ Bowling Alley!

Entire dining experience was awesome. We had late lunch so weren't that hungry but didn't want to cancel the reservation at last minute either so showed up and we are so glad that we did. Our server was very nice and kind, explained kids in details their choices. Food menu is decent, wine choices are good too and most importantly the quality of food was outstanding

Located in Mammoth Lakes, The Stove is a beloved spot that has been serving up classic American dishes for over 40 years. This cozy joint is known for its homestyle breakfast favorites and generous portions. The country-themed restaurant exudes a charming ambiance with farmhouse decor and a sprawling front porch. While the menu features traditional breakfast options like pancakes and biscuits and gravy, it also offers unique creations such as the Sierra Sunrise skillet and cinnamon french toast.
This place was great - reasonably priced food, plenty of options, and there's quick service even when they're busy. I got the chicken and waffles special and I really appreciated their homemade Sriracha honey - it was fantastic! Definitely a dish worth trying here. I wish there was less country music, but it's part of the restaurant's theme, so I won't knock them for it.

They have an amazing vegan option: get the veggie burger with no mayo, and replace with cucumber and spinach. I also got fruit and textured vegan protein sauteed (they called it tofu crumble or something but it's TVP). Incredibly tasty 💚 To the owners: I hope you can add the tofu crumble to the menu as I found out it was available only when I asked the server. Label it as textured vegan protein. We arrived at 7:30 on a Sunday morning to find the place bustling with business, always a good sign! After looking at the menu and reviews I decided I had to try the French toast which I could only describe as amazing. Slightly crispy exterior perfectly cooked interior nothing could Make it any better hands down probably the best French toast I've ever had! My wife got a patty melt and onion rings and while I can't speak for the patty melt gun rings were also amazing and probably some of the best I've ever had. From the staff of front to the waiters and bussers everybody was happy to help and their service was great. Will return anytime I'm in Mammoth.

Stopped by for breakfast and had a great experience. Service was quick, staff was friendly, and the cozy ambiance made it a nice spot to start the day. The food was tasty and satisfying, and they have free parking which is always a plus. It’s located a little away from the main downtown, but definitely worth the short drive.

Mexican restaurant
Salsa's Taqueria in Mammoth Lakes offers a vibrant setting to savor Mexican street food. Whether you're grabbing a quick taco, torta, or burrito before hitting the trails, this spot has you covered. While there are limited indoor and outdoor seating options, it's recommended to opt for takeout.
Been meaning to go here for a long time (we usually eat at El Charro), and finally did today, Being a Tuesday, we got the taco special (3 tacos, chips, and a drink). I got pollo, carne asada, and carnitas. They were all delicious! They were also very filling. I only finished my meal because it was so tasty as I was full after the 2nd taco. Highly recommended.

The alpine mountain country of Mammoth Lakes and Mexican cuisine isn't something that easily rolls off your tongue, and in fact, it's almost an awkward mismatch. But, who cares? On an overnight stop at Mammoth Lakes, I found this gem of a place in town. I wasn't that hungry, but I just needed to top off my tank and I ordered the fish taco here. Man, that hit the spot, it was delicious. My only criticism of this place is that the fish content was stingy. Given that, I ordered another taco, this time carnitas and that was also delicious. Again, their portions are small, but maybe because I am out of San Francisco where Mexican joints are plentiful, perhaps my expectations are different? Bottom line is, the food was excellent even if it lacks in generosity.

Loved the food, a lot of options, 10+ salsa options, spicy salsa had my heart Quesadilla was the best dish there in my opinion Super crowded and very slow service Sat to dine at tables which were not the cleanest.

Authentic delicious Mexican food. We came here on a Monday morning for breakfast. I order 3 tacos (1 lengua, 1 carne asada, 1 tripas). My husband and son ordered the breakfast burrito with bacon. My other son ordered the California burrito. And my friend and her daughter ordered the bean, rice and cheese burrito. We were all very happy with our food and the prices are very reasonable. The burritos are big. They have a variety of salsas to choose from. The have mild to very spicy salsa. They were all very tasty. This is definitely one of the restaurants we will be coming back to.

Love this spot ! Will definitely return before leaving again !! The service was so friendly ! Their coffees were delicious ! Got them brown sugar latte and vanilla latte ! Amazing coffee, great prices and their food is a huge win also! I find that coffee shop food items are usually a toss up but everything we had here was amazing. My hubs tried two other coffee places on our trip and found their Americanos were bitter & Looney Bean hit the spot. We even went back the following day before leaving town to grab some coffee and for for the road! Incredibly large and flavorful breakfast burritos, the best brownie I’ve had in a while, and a blueberry scone to die for. It seemed the busiest out of all places we visited and for good reason. I love the welcoming outdoor patio with an area for kids and cornhole, too. Keep it up! Will be back!

A great local coffee shop. They have a lot of different flavors for signature lattes and seasonal lattes. Their breakfast burritos are really good too! I have been here about a dozen times. The coffee is excellent as are the non-coffee drinks. The service is also very good. Be aware that this pace is slammed from 8-11am so you may be in line behind 18 people. Also, very few of the tables have access to an outlet, so this might not be the best place to get work done if your laptop isn't charged.

Nestled in a cozy woodsy interior, Mammoth Tavern offers a laid-back atmosphere and New American cuisine. The tavern boasts the best Happy Hour in town with discounts on wine, draft beer, and well drinks. The menu features delectable options like salmon poke tacos and ham and cheese croquettes.
My fiancé and I ordered the fondu and a meatball appetizer, and everything was excellent. The cheese was perfectly melty and smooth. The restaurant itself is a bit tight of a squeeze and extremely noisy with people screaming at the baseball game at the bar. The wait was approx 15 minutes, so not too bad. Overall would recommend!

The Mammoth Tavern is a cozy little spot to grab some dinner in town. Do expect a line at peak times, and the wait can get long as they have something for the whole family. Good, no nonsense foods on this menu. Their caesar salad was absolutely delicious and would recommend for anyone. Otherwise the menu is nice and hardy. As they do get busy, so can the staff and would recommend sitting at the bar if its just you or for 2. Mammoth Tavern is worth a visit if you’re in town for some powder.

Fish tacos and fries were good, but not remarkable. The rib grilled cheese was dry and flavor so so. French onion soup had very mixed reviews but my favorite soup so I ordered it but returned it was very bland and watery. Had a vodka cranberry and I drank it but do t think it was a good quality vodka and wasn’t very strong.
Golden G — Google review
Love the cozy feel of this tavern! The food was okay, not amazing. The staff were very nice.

30 minute wait to be seated. Fine. 45 minutes to get food after ordering. Less fine. Once the food was delivered, a dish was missing. I asked if it was coming and was told "oh no we ran out of that. Nobody told you?" The fries were cold and stale. The pretzels were bland and dry, and the accompanying "cheese sauce" was so watery and flavorless I don't think it can be called cheese. The French onion soup was so spicy it burned my throat for minutes after each bite and did not even taste like onion (it tasted more like a spicy mexican soup). After a few bites I gave up on trying to eat the food and decided i would be happier eating a pb&j at home. What a waste of time and money.

We visited this restaurant because it was the closest to the hotel, but it didn’t disappoint us at all. All of the dishes were delicious, and we had a great time. Great food and Bartender prepared the best cocktails. I was impressed 👍 the dips were amazing and the spanakopita was so delicious. You can tell if it’s a great Greek restaurant by those things. Was service slow ? Yes, but because it’s the holiday season and COVID makes it difficult to staff. But that isn’t the restaurant’s fault it’s just the time we are in and plus the holiday season. Devils Postpile National Monument is a stunning natural site featuring a unique columnar basalt rock formation that was created by volcanic activity thousands of years ago. This 60-foot high geological wonder is complemented by picturesque hiking trails, including the popular Rainbow Falls, which stands at an impressive 101 feet tall. The monument's history dates back to its establishment as a national monument in 1911 and its separation from Yosemite National Park due to mining activities.
Don’t Miss Devils Postpile! If you’re going to Mammoth Mountain or Mammoth Lakes, be sure to stop at Devils Postpile. The tall, straight rock columns and the fallen pieces that look like giant broken pencils are truly amazing and one of a kind. You’ll enjoy a beautiful, mostly easy walk with great views all around. It’s a perfect example of California’s natural beauty and diversity. Totally worth the visit!

Very doable hike with sweeping views. My kids had fun and completed hike with little complaining. They enjoyed and so did I. If you get off at the bus stop, the ranger station has good information for you and there is a water fountain and restrooms. If you're continuing on to Rainbow Falls make sure you have a lot of water and sunscreen/hat.

Currently road under construction so only open Saturday and Sunday and only for a couple more weeks for the year. It will be terrific once done. Most things closed or limited but Postpile walk/hike open. As well as some wilderness areas. High altitude so hiking/walking needs to take that I to consideration. It was difficult for me to hike to top of Postpile.

Updated !!!! July 9th 2025 I leave 3 stars to get your attention only. This place not opened for private car and closed from Monday- Wednesday. Also from Thursday to Sunday, you can visit this place by taking the public paid shuttle bus. Gps to the Mammoth Main Lodge. On the right hand side, where you see the big Mammoth Statue. Where you can purchase the shuttle bus ticket. There are 2 free parking spots - one on the far left , one right in front of the ticket kiosk, further than that will be paid parking. Worth a visit if you are at Mammoth town during weekend Downside: shuttle bus required. Google hours ‘s wrong. Waste of time to travel here and cannot drive inside.
Scarlett N — Google review
From the visitor's center, it is only a couple hundred yards to Devil's postpile. However, I would recommend going a couple of miles further in the same hike and visit Rainbow Falls as well. There are several great campgrounds in the area of Devil's Postpile, with several hiking trails, toilets, and water, although I don't think that the water is potable. Take care if you are pulling a trailer or driving an RV. It is a narrow and winding road down with very few wide spots to pull to one side.

My wife and I always take a trip once a year to do the June lake loop in honor of my sister in law passing . The high light of our trip is to stop at old New York deli and get a bowl of matzo ball soup , which is the best we have found anywhere ! We drive from gardnerville Nevada just to do the loop and get best yummy matzo ball soup so since it’s a hundred miles one way we called ahead to make sure we could get the soup , we talk to the manager which insured us he would tell his kitchen staff to put some aside for us yeah! Well we got there ordered our two soups plus three soups to go payed and Sat down waiting for our soup about five minutes later the girl comes outside to tell us they only had one matzo ball left went into talk to the manger but of course he wasn’t there as we stood there there goes another matzo ball soup out to someone that got there after we did very disappointing great food though . In fairness they did comp us a free soup . My only complaint is that you shouldn’t tell people that you will hold something for them if you’re not going to do it and especially for people that are traveling over a two hundred mile round trip . Just tell them you can’t hold anything first come first serve . But we will definitely be going back for the matzo ball soup . One other gripe please don’t put cuts in the top of your go container all it does is let the soup broth seep out so when you get where your going you have the fixings of the soup but no broth .

We bought the strawberry cream cheese for our bagels (which were fresh) it tasted more like frosting than cream cheese. The cookies were a little over cooked then we prefer. This place has a lot of items to choose from, I gave it 4 stars due to some of the baked goods, but everything else was good.

Nestled in the vibrant heart of The Village at Mammoth, Shelter Distilling is a trendy artisan distillery that offers an impressive selection of house-made spirits and craft beers. This lively spot not only serves up unique cocktails but also features a delightful menu filled with eclectic eats. Guests can indulge in mouthwatering dishes like the Warm Pretzel Roll paired with IPA mustard or savor the Crispy Confit Pork Belly Taco.
It was Taco Tuesday so we ordered $5 tacos and $10 Margarita. We tried pork belly, sweet potato, shrimp, fish, carne asada, and spicy chicken tacos and I have to say the pork belly and spicy chicken were my favorite. All were tasty. The bartender gal even tasted drinks (with a finger on a straw holding some of the drink) before serving. Very friendly staff. The vibe and music were enjoyable. HH is M-Th 2-4 and they offer a few drinks and food items. Looking forward to trying some other things on their menu. Came backs 2nd time!

We had tacos and tostadas. Both tasted okay. Service was slow but one of the few places offering food after 9:30. Their cocktails were good.

Loved this place. The cocktails were too good. I was on a vacation at mamoth lake and went back to this brewary couple of times. Foods were delicious. quite busy. Location is good.

We had a nice late lunch with the gluten free pepperoni pizza, the brisket sandwich and the veggie pizza. The pizzas were legit but a bit small. Overall a good option for a Gluten Free meal.

We were looking for a nice, casual and chill place to have dinner and the Shelter was an excellent choice. We had a local beer they are making in the place it self, 1 smash burger and 2 pizzas. The burger was great!! And I even thought of having another one. The pizza is a bit small and I asked to have it extra crispy, which made out as a good choice. It was a comforting pizza, just like we wanted to. The bartender was super nice and friendly, and the food came pretty quickly. They have a wide selection. I super recommend to go have a dinner if you are looking for something casual and fun!

Not pleasant, food, atmosphere, passive aggressive servers - but for good reason... Food: - Fake cheese on nachos. See photo. It's salted oil / calories, not cheese. - Tacos were ok. - Burger was just ok, insufficient salt, and cost $21 ! ! ! (I've had a burger at Nepenthe's for this cost, but that was the Big Sur coastline on an epic cliff over an impossible seascape with horses running free on the next cliff down through intermittent hanging mist...this distillery does not offer that atmosphere, so it's overpriced) Atmosphere: - Cold vibe - QR code scanned menu / ordering / paying. - Pour your own water - Wipe your own table - No staff interaction. - Waitresses taking out frustration about low pay by: + Avoiding eye contact in order to save time + Rarely wiping a table top to save time + When there is time to wipe a table, crumbs or wiped off in one stroke and end up in those seats you see in my photo. The next patrons will sit on those. :( BOTTOM LINE: The investors bought a great location, but they have completely failed to deliver the atmosphere. They need to pay their staff to put a smile on everyone's faces. Why do they have to pay more? Because no one is going to tip these servers for the interaction they're not providing. They're overworked. BONUS: Their app fails when it's time to pay. OVERALL VIBE AT THE END OF DINNER: Steer clear of this place.

Okay we had to come here twice during our Mammoth Lakes trip, we loved the Hawaiian pizza so much! If you’re a Hawaiian pizza eater, definitely stop in to try it. It comes with not only pineapple, but also mandarin (which sounds a little odd) but it seriously was delicious. I also ordered a house made ranch to dip (iykyk) and wow I could have eaten 3 of these. My husband went with the tacos, which were very good. The second time we came here, we decided to try some of their drinks and were not disappointed! The espresso martini was great. And the old fashioned was good too. Ordered the cake with ice cream for dessert, was good (maybe better for vanilla lovers though). On top of great food, you also get an awesome atmosphere at this place. It’s right in town, and they have a lot of open air seating so you can enjoy the local music and people watch. Very cool place, definitely best food we had in Mammoth.

My husband thought the beer here was excellent, and I really enjoyed the nachos and steak soft tacos—they were delicious! The ordering and payment process is fully automated through QR codes, which makes the experience very convenient and efficient. However, there were quite a lot of kids around, which might not be ideal for everyone.

Lakes Basin Path / Horseshoe Lake Trailhead

4.7
(525)
Hiking area
The Lakes Basin Path / Horseshoe Lake Trailhead in Mammoth is a network of multiuse paths that connect the seven main lakes, popular for fishing and boating in summer. The area was affected by underground volcanic activity in 1989, resulting in the death of over 120 acres of trees due to CO2 seepage. While it's now safe to hike and explore, camping is prohibited due to ongoing CO2 emissions.
We came up here to do a short nature walk around horseshoe Lake. We were staying in Big Pine for the Wild Wild West ultra marathon race that takes place in Lone Pine. We wanted to stretch our legs a little bit but not do anything too difficult. This was perfect It was about a mile around the lake with beautiful views every turn you took. The path was well groomed and you were within the pine trees. There is lots of little bridges to cross and we even came upon an old foundation of what looked like what was once a cabin. You can see what remains of the fireplace.
Jackie L — Google review
Excellent views, lovely environment. Lost a star because despite being July it was cold, and we didn't know in advance about the CO2 risk or the plague ridden rodents...
Nicholas H — Google review
Beautiful lake. Went in the evening around 5 or 6 and the parking lot wasn't too full. Lots of people playing with their dogs or kayaking. I really enjoyed walking along the edge of the lake. It was very peaceful there and some of the little beach areas are really nice. It was also very clean there. The CO2 emission aspect was fascinating to me and also a little intimidating but I didn't experience any ill effects walking around the lake. You can definitely see the big patches of trees that have died as soon as you enter the parking lot.
Reese G — Google review
Beautiful but smoky. Did not do any hiking, just made a quick stop before heading out of town.

Beautiful lakes. Trails can be busy with dog walkers and bikers
Damon T — Google review
The hike was a bit steep at first, but our group (with lots of little and elementary-school-age kids) all made it up to the lake easily enough. Gorgeous views, rocky but easy shallow beach, and the hike was shady and not too buggy or hot or crowded. We saw several groups with dogs, and every single one of the dogs looked like they were having the time of their lives (but then again, dogs usually look like that, don't they?!). Kids loved the lake right at the parking lot (Horseshoe), and loved the hike-able lake (McLeod), but they did prefer the wood stacked fort piles by the hike-able McLeod Lake. I definitely think the easy hike is worth it, and very fun and quick (signs say it's about a one-mile hike up to McLeod).

Embark on an unforgettable adventure at the Crystal Lake Trailhead, where nature's beauty unfolds in breathtaking panoramas of the Mammoth Lakes Basin. This picturesque hike spans approximately 1.75 miles and features a challenging elevation gain of 900 feet, making it a rewarding trek for those seeking a physical challenge amidst stunning scenery. As you ascend, you'll be treated to mesmerizing views of a vibrant blue lake nestled among towering evergreens and rugged mountain peaks.
AMAZING views. The views from up top are not of crystal lake. You see other lakes while hiking up, and then you hike down to see crystal lake at the end. Hike was steep & not easy, but also doable with breaks (for people in ok but not great shape). 10/10 worth it for the views! Note: we got there before 8:00 and got the last “real” parking spot.

Really good trail and a must visit if you are at Mt Rainier. Views are mesmerizing and trail itself is not that hard, it starts with a small river (don’t go in there it’s little dangerous) Water in the lake was cold and I don’t think you should go inside it but the views are unlike anything.
Adarsh P — Google review
Best hike in Mammoth Lakes California. You will see 2 lakes half way up. Keep going for about another mile and there is another one way up top that is beautiful. Total of 3 lakes to view.
Karen D — Google review
Veri beautiful and a little secluded lake. The views on the way to the lake are also breathtaking
Babak M — Google review
Steep hike up. At an easy pace about 1.5 hours up and about 45 mins to get back down. Amazing views and must do experience.
Gary P — Google review
The trail going up is very steep, with lots of switchbacks. But it's also shaded with trees. Views from the trail are absolutely amazing. The lake itself is beautiful, but even now in July the water was cold. Didn't stop us from jumping in though! Go on the right side of the lake, it gets less crowded and you'll be better able to enjoy yourself without people screaming and being obnoxious.

Nice little coffee and wine shop! There are three levels of seating- plenty of space to have quiet conversation with a friend or to get some work done. Their prices are fantastic- I wish I could have taken advantage of their happy hour wine deal that runs from 3-5pm!

The Kyoto cold brew was probably out favorite ! The hot coffees were decent . It was a good cup of coffee but personally don’t prefer fruity notes in my espresso :( maybe if it was sweeter nuttier it would have been so good ! But that’s just their brew so I won’t ding them for that ! It’s a very cool spot and they have delicious house made syrups ! Ps the waffle was good !
Nikki A — Google review
An excellent place to get a delicious latte and a great space to hang out. Their coffee has a well balanced flavor, and they do a good job foaming my oat milk lattes. They also make house-made syrups which range from the always reliable vanilla to more interesting seasonal syrups with complex flavors that I can’t readily find elsewhere. The space has a great vibe with 3 stories of differing seating options, making this a great place for hanging out with people, settling in with a good book, or remote working. Staff are very friendly and welcoming, though on busy weekends during tourist season, the line to orders can get quite backed up. They don’t have a ton of food options, but they do have some muffins, banana bread from a local bakery, and house made waffles to help satisfy snacking needs.

Black Velvet Coffee – Absolutely perfect!A small café with world-class coffee. ☕️ The espresso here is truly Italian-level – rich, balanced, and beautifully aromatic. The atmosphere is warm and relaxed, and the staff are great. Honestly, this is one of the best coffees I’ve had in California!

Love the design of this place! It also feels a very professional coffee roasters. I had a decaf oat milk cappuccino, it tastes a little bit more acidic than my taste, but the flavor is nice. I’ll say it’s a good place to chill, sit down to work or rest, but the drink itself is not my taste. Also I feel the barista is not very welcoming.
LULU A — Google review
My bf and I have come in a few times now that we live in town full time. We've wanted to like this place because the setting feels nice but a few of the girls behind the counter continue to come off very unpleasant and condescending, not just to us but others as well. It's unfortunate to experience and see but I think it's safe to say that we'll be making our rounds for coffee elsewhere from now on. There are friendlier places with good coffee options.
Quinn N — Google review
This coffee roaster looked way so different from the other cafes or coffee shops I have been to. It had this whole rugged look, which reminded me mostly of a barn. It had the old look yet had a modern feel to it. It had a variety of options if you drink, If I am not wrong they have happy hours as well. Anyways , I was confused on what to order mocha or dirty chai, based on the Barista’s suggestion I went ahead and ordered Dirty Chai which was really good. It had some sort of fresh feeling to the chai, it felt luxurious and a feeling of comfort at the same time. We also ordered Latte, which was not as great as Dirty Chai , but still it was good in its own way, In my opinion it could have been better. The Barista working up there was really very sweet and friendly. One thing I liked about this coffee house is that , they take order and make it right in front of you, which was also quick. Definitely recommend to visit this place when up in mammoth lakes , you will not regret it.

Mexican restaurant
Gomez's Mexican Restaurant is a vibrant and well-established eatery known for its Mexican and Latin fusion cuisine, as well as its extensive selection of tequilas and tequila-based drinks. The restaurant offers a diverse menu featuring traditional Mexican favorites alongside innovative dishes. Families can also enjoy a kid-friendly menu with options like burritos, tacos, and quesadillas. While the food is flavorful without being overly spicy, those seeking some heat can indulge in the delicious habanero wings.
I liked the food overall. Loved their fajitas... Their portions are HUGE.... So the price when compared to the portions is decent. My boy liked the chicken burrito for kids. There is a sand play area for kids with toys in it. Pretty neatly maintained with hardworking and friendly staff. Would definitely recommend going here.
Harsha N — Google review
Host was great, server was great, atmosphere was great. But why in the world does a restaurant right in the best location of the village sell Mexican food that tastes nothing like Mexican food. My wife, who was raised with no seasoning on her food and compared her family recipes to cardboard, said this food did not taste like any Mexican food she had ever eaten before. She got the chicken burrito and the chicken tasted like spaghetti noodles. Hire someone to build a new menu with new food items or sell the restaurant to someone that gives a damn for the hard working staff to serve a fine tasting meal for the money we paid.

I came here off-season, so it wasn’t too crowded. The food was delicious — authentic Mexican. They also have one of the largest tequila collections in the world. The atmosphere is pleasant, and the staff are friendly and polite. The restrooms are clean — which says a lot about the place.

This restaurant has delicious drinks. They have a HUGE variety of tequila. The food was decent. I ordered the shrimp fajitas and the shrimp and rice were bland in terms of flavor but overall it was okay. The service was great.
ERIKA R — Google review
Friendly staff, but very inattentive waiter and they were not busy at all. Not once did I get my water refilled. Food was bland. Steak/chicken fajita tasted like it was microwaved. Zero seasoning on anything. Chips and salsa were delicious though. Very nice atmosphere. However the flame heaters all around should be turned off in 70+degree weather. Got pretty warm quick. Overpriced for the quality of food. It was 6 of us and we all agreed.

Good service in a great environment. I had the seared Tuna salad and it was fresh and tasty. Also enjoyed a Primo Paloma

Decent Mexican food not the best but not the worst either. They are chincy and charge for chips and salsa 😂 they served me steak and chicken fajitas for $45 and didn’t provide salsa 🤪 The waiter (a middle aged guy) was not friendly or attentive. I doubt we will be back..

Mammoth Pizza Co. & Slice Bar is the go-to spot for pizza lovers in the Village at Mammoth, especially after a day on the slopes. With its inviting atmosphere and quick service, it’s perfect for grabbing a slice or ordering a whole pie made from fresh ingredients. Diners can choose from an array of delicious toppings, including gluten-free options that taste just like traditional pizza—much to the delight of those with dietary restrictions.
Mammoth Pizza Co really has a solid reputation for tasty, high-quality pies. It’s cool to hear it stacks up even against some of the LA favorites, which are already pretty legendary.

This place is conveniently located by the street and close to the parking lot with lots of shops around. When we went, it was very busy, so we thought the food must be good. We got the Manhattan basic cheese pizza. After eating it, it was… as basic as it gets. It tasted very unimpressive and inoffensive; it was basic but fresh. Not sure if we will try them again.

I had to-go pizza slice from here. I grabbed a slice of Manhattan from the counter warmed up. The person at the counter was quick in wrapping up the order. Gross. Don't waste your money. Threw my slice Way it was so subpar. $8 for a pepperoni slice which was decent size but worse that Celeste frozen pizza brand, literally warned me up a slice of cheese pizza, threw on Pepperoni's that didn't even stick/melt into the cheese and claimed it "fresh". Not to mention the 4 napkins of grease I had to press out before I could consume the slice with dripping like a mad dog. And I don't even dab my pizzas... Just gross.

Elixir Superfood & Juice is a popular spot in Mammoth Lakes, offering a variety of whole foods-based salads, grain bowls, and quick bites. The restaurant prides itself on its organic and gluten-free menu, featuring options like the Thai Buddha Bowl, Nourish bowl, and Falafel Bliss bowl. We stopped in hoping to get a healthy meal after several days of travel, and while the concept of this place is fantastic—focused on clean eating, fresh juices, and nourishing food—the customer experience left a lot to be desired. When we walked in, none of the staff made eye contact or offered assistance. It felt like they were intentionally avoiding interaction, almost pushing you to order from one of the 3 iPad kiosk. I nearly walked out when I couldn’t figure out how to modify our order and no one stepped in to help. We didn't order any baked goods but wanted too. We ended up eating outside in the parking lot area. There is indoor seating as well—nothing fancy, but clean and functional. The food itself was fresh, and exactly what our bodies needed after being on the road. That said, customer service matters. We’re typically generous tippers (often 25%), but this time we didn’t feel compelled to leave one. A little eye contact and simple acknowledgment could go a long way in making the experience more welcoming. Great food, great concept—but the human touch is definitely missing. Sad

It’s overpriced and the employees take way too long to make the orders….despite there being 4 of them. We got our drinks 30 minutes later. Also, the poor employee was trying to stock items and was on the ground fighting with the drawer. Please get some new drawers, she made a scene grunting and trying to do her job. Açaí You Smoothie was not good, tasted like nothing… waste of money.

What a bummer, I've been coming to Elixir in Mammoth since they opened and loved it. However tonight was a big let down. Greated by no one, it was clean a new young gal was doing her best to keep up while the old gal working had the other younger worker go on break 20 minutes before they closed. The older gal working was busy stalking and cleaning not helping the guest. Now to the salad! Paid $24 ordered on their tablet so I'm clear i asked for extra items, extra sauce and got nothing I paid extra for. I ordered extra dressing and when I watched her make it she didn't put extra. The salad was just ok to say the least. I may try it again, but maybe not. Bummer it's the only place to get good, healthy food to go. Maybe work on the staff and the food gets better.

Follow the locals...as I did. I was recently at the local Athletic Club and asked the front desk where I could find fresh and healthy food. She didn't hesitate with her response! It's my own go-to place now. I can't get enough of the "Feel the Beet" juice and the Patagonia Bowl. The flavors just absolutely pop. Seating is available inside or out if you choose to consume on site. Clean, refillable drinking water is available, and they have a small amount of swag if you like. Highly recommend.

Great healthy spot to grab a snack, lunch or dinner in Mammoth. My husband and I stopped by after hiking all morning to refuel with good/clean ingredients. We each had a smoothie and bowl and everything was great! I highly recommend their seasonal Backyard BBQ Chicken Bowl. The chicken was tender and warm with the perfect amount of BBQ sauce. I also really enjoyed my Maca Mint Chip smoothie. I will definitely be coming back before we head home. The staff was friendly and the food came out within 10-12 minutes.

I’m literally sitting inside this restaurant while I’m writing this. I read an earlier review that complained about the customer service, so I just want to give a shout out to the guy (maybe the manager?) who is currently working. They are out of a lot of ingredients (not their fault) and he is going above and beyond suggesting swaps and changes to keep everyone happy and fed. I had the spring roll bowl and one of their cold pressed juices and it’s all delicious - exactly what I needed after running 18 miles 🙂

Beautiful Lakeside Restaurant that's stood the test of time and has only gotten better. This rustic wood garnished gem has everything you need and oozes Atmosphere. My wife and I spent our Anniversary enjoying the bar/lounge while our table was set. Once seated started with the Diver Scallop app before we moved on to the Elk Medallions over Risotto, and a Bison (osso bucco style) entre. The Elk was perfect! We then washed it down with a incredible 2017 bottle of Ridolfi Brunello. It was magical. We look forward to enjoying this beautiful place again in the winter.

I understand that it's Mammoth and there's the high altitude, Mammoth tax ! But the price is ridiculous! $60 entree? $16 bread basket? We knew before getting there, so we wanted to try anyway, waiting to be blown away by the food... Well, we were not! Food was good, serving size really good, plating nice, service good... But not a $60 entree, sorry.
Phil M — Google review
Very limited menu choices, extremely expensive for the amount of food served. Emphasis on pretty food. Extra charge to split a salad. They charge for bread. Food was very pretty but tasted average. $100 per person and left hungry. Given that it’s in a very family oriented hotel/cabin setting, it’s a shame that this is the only dinner option on site. Not family friendly at all. The restaurant at Convict Lake is 20 minutes away and a much better value.

This is a good place to eat, however it is owned by Mammoth Mountain. The food taste and quality really dropped once Mammoth ski report (or their parent company) took over the food. Avoid their lunch service. Not good and very limited lunch options. Dinner isn't too bad. But the prices are way too high. They really get you. I usually try to figure out somewhere else to go.

Dinner was nothing special and over priced. Had the asparagus soup. Needed to be strained. Very stringy. Lobster tagliatelle was very heavy. Pasta was fresh which was nice. Make sure to share, big portions. Wine was marked up at least 3x. Positive: Service was great and atmosphere beautiful overlooking Twin Lakes.

I feel inclined to share our experience at this restaurant. My husband and I finally visited after waiting a bite (due to the high prices), hoping I’d find our new favorite Mammoth restaurant… unfortunately, we were seriously disappointed. I do not mind paying top dollar for these special ingredients offered on this menu. However, this was not the problem. Each dish we received, although presented well, seemed to get more bland and underseasoned. We started with the mushroom soup and ($16!) bread basket which was fine and worth it, yummy bread. Second course we ordered lobster ravioli and gem salad. I’ve never had a more lacking ravioli. Hardly any lobster and simply no flavor. The salad was fine but again, overpriced for what you get. I would imagine more decadence than a squirt of balsamic over 5 lettuce leaves and a few nuts. We had caviar prior so the main dish we (thankfully, despite the waitress trying to make us order 2) decided to share was the black cod and it was equally as underwhelming… it was a mash of mystery ingredients and an overcooked, under glazed piece of cod. I opted out of dessert (and that’s saying something since I’m pregnant!) and my husband also mentioned the beer tap needs cleaning. I can’t help but wonder if we made the wrong decision by ordering seafood. I’m not sure. As someone who has traveled and visited many 5 star restaurants and an experienced chef, I feel this place has some updates to do and hope they take customer feedback into account! I would loved to have had a different experience but it is what it is!

Very overpriced for the quality. $36 for only 2 scallops is ridiculous, and the $60+ steak was nothing special. Not impressed.

Unexpectedly great. First time staying at the lodge. It is very old school, but lodgy and cool. I didn’t know they had a restaurant so decided to try it. It was super cool. Definitely romantic…..too bad my wife wasn’t with me. Everything on the menu looked good. I had the summer salad and the sea bass. Both were quite good. The waitress and others were fantastic!

Great restaurant with a friendly staff and delicious food! Smokeyard is family friendly and had a great selection of drinks and food in their Happy Hour menu. Our family will definitely return to dine here while in Mammoth.

10 oz tri tip - very thin and a lot of fat We paid an additional 13 dollars for the chicken breast - I was so disappointed that it was a boneless chicken patty you see on a fast food sandwich. My son ordered a pulled pork sandwich, and that did look good. We got our plate, and It took them an additional 15 minutes to get the sandwich to him. The mac n cheese with jalapenos was good. Cocktails were okay, nothing special. This place is overpriced for the quality of the food.
Arlene B — Google review
The tri tip sandwich was very mediocre, they put lettuce on the sandwich which does not go well with a BBQ sandwich. The garlic mashed barely has any flavor, the mozzarella sticks are OK but nothing great. The pulled pork is good but the baked Mac n cheese is not good. The rib and rice bowl is not good. The ribs fell off the bone but the meat was tough and the rice is not good.

On a Friday, when other restaurants were fully booked, we visited this place recommended by our hotel as a first-come, first-served establishment. We arrived around 5 PM and were seated immediately, but by 6 PM, it was packed. I was surprised by the generous amount of BBQ chip seasoning, but it was incredibly tasty! The baby back ribs were very tender, and the kids were very happy with the pasta and chicken tenders from the children's menu.
Sohei M — Google review
I’ll start with the good. The food was pretty good. Flavors and the quality was pretty decent. The food came out fairly fast, but it also wasn’t as packed when we went. The negatives. The service was terrible. As mentioned previously, it was not a packed house. We waited about 10 minutes after being seated to even have someone come check in with us. After the first initial contact, another 10 before she even asked what we wanted to drink. Our waitress refilled our water only when we were done eating and even said “let me refill your water before you leave.” We asked for the check which took another 10 minutes to get. The real kicker was receiving the bill with a charge for “large party gratuity” automatically included. We were a party of 5, 3 adults and 2 toddlers. That did not sit well with us because we would not consider us to be a large party. It’s another hidden fee on top of asking for tips. Other reviewers have noted being charged a living wage fee added to their meal. Remember this is on TOP of the gratuity. This is the owners responsibility to ensure their workers are paid and compensated sell not added as a hidden fee at the end. I would highly recommend looking for other places to eat.

Had the most incredible beyond burger here post-backpacking trip!! It had fried onions and mushrooms on it, and the fries were perfection. Would highly recommend for a meal after a big adventure! And loved the outdoor seating options, too.

Wow! Our dinner was delicious! Started with the cornbread which was out of this world. Our whole table of 9 was in love with this place plus we had one of the best waitresses named Mary. She was attentive, kind, and always expecting your needs. What a great experience! Thank you to the entire team and especially the chef! So good!!

Wine bar
Nestled in The Village at Mammoth, Side Door Wine Bar & Cafe offers a European cafe ambiance with an extensive wine selection of over 300 bottles. Indulge in their menu featuring crepes, paninis, salads, and fondue while sipping on a variety of wines, beers, or signature cocktails like the Rattlesnake.
A Hidden Gem in Mammoth Village! Side Door is the best-kept secret in Mammoth! Tucked away in the village, this cozy spot delivers in every way—from food to vibes. Their crepes are absolutely delicious, with a gluten-free batter that’s light, flavorful, and perfect for sweet or savory cravings. Don’t skip the breakfast potatoes—they’re crispy, buttery perfection, easily some of the best I’ve had anywhere. The espresso is rich and bold, and their award-winning Bloody Mary? Totally lives up to the hype. Whether you’re coming in for a slow breakfast, a chill lunch, or a cozy dinner with friends, Side Door hits the mark every time. Can’t wait to come back!
Joanna G — Google review
I really wanted to like this place. It’s well located in the main village square and it has a good selection of classic crepes but when I went in this afternoon with my husband and baby, blocking the small entrance with my stroller and desperately looking for someone to asist me, I was met with shear indifference from the 5 staff present, none of whom cared about my presence enough to ask me if I need a table or anything at all for that matter. We left disappointed after a few minutes of waiting.
Oana G — Google review
We went in for wine and dinner however the place was totally empty. The staff were eating their meal when we walked in and it looked like we disturbed them. I asked them what was on the happy hour menu and she didn’t know if they had a happy hour and told me it ended at 5. I told her it ended at 6 and she had no idea of what was on the menu and said the tapas and a cocktails might be 10% off. Well we ended up leaving a bit disappointed however if you look at other reviews I think we made the best decision.

Came for breakfast and had their breakfast burrito which had bacon bits and potato and eggs and I added chorizo. It was so good. Husband had bagel and lox which he enjoyed, too. Apple cider was delicious, too. Service was friendly and fast!
Brittany H — Google review
A dark, empty, and depressing place. The employees were sitting in the back playing on their phones. My order was taken by a young lady who looked like she'd just woken up from a nap, and the cook seemed annoyed that he had to get up from his chair. I couldn't eat my sandwich because the meat tasted so bad. It was completely overcooked, dry, and salty. A horrible experience.
Willie B — Google review
After a long wonderful sunny day enjoying the mountain I came to visit side door. The staff was nice, they didn't have Cash singles to provide my change but it's ok. The Philly steak sandwich was decent, a bit too salty. I will not order that again. It's convenient next to the village gondola. Happy hour is very limited: $1 off drinks and appetizers from 3-6pm

This place has a nice outside view and tables and chairs. Fondue was amazing but the cheese platter was very week. Italian dip is highly recommended and the chicken pesto crepe was also good. Here are a few pictures of the amazing food. Server was nice.

Nestled in the heart of Mammoth, the Mammoth Fun Shop is a delightful fusion of a nostalgic toy and game store paired with an enchanting ice cream parlor. This whimsical destination invites visitors to unwind after a day filled with outdoor adventures, offering scrumptious made-from-scratch hand pies and an array of hot beverages that are perfect for warming up. Families can revel in the joy of exploring numerous demo games available throughout the shop, making it an ideal spot for bonding moments.
This place actually is a fun shop as there’s pretty much something for everyone! You can find souvenirs, basically any board game imaginable, desserts, toys, gags (fake poo), books, tiny figurines (unicorns, Sasquatch, etc…), puzzles, and so much more here! Once you step in, you’ll have plenty to peruse even though the store is physically small and kinda packed wall-to-wall with items.

Great little spot for treats and games. We got dessert tonight and it was good. Fresh hand made whip cream was just what my wife was looking for on her ice cream. Friendly service to boot. *3/27/24 update- Back again in Mammoth and my wife loves the sweet treats here. She got shakes 2 days in a row and can't wait to return again. Service is always friendly every time we stop by.

The name is confusing, but basically an ice cream shop with games, toys, and some tourist kitsch. Something for everyone, as they offer free toppings or waffle cones and a good variety of tasty flavors. Staff is friendly, patient, and helpful. Parking lot limited so bike in or park nearby. Currently no eating allowed inside but take it outside and enjoy on one of the rocks out front.

First off, let’s talk about the service: absolute legends! It’s so good to walk into a place and be treated well by everyone… such an amazing vibe! Food: Absolutely on point! I could eat that poke every single day of my life! Drinks: I’ve tried cocktails all over the world… and this place? Next level! I’ve been to Hawaii twice, and nothing compares to the drinks they make here! Thank you!!! I’ll be back every time I’m in Mammoth! You guys are insane! Truly appreciate it!!!

Among Mammoth Village restaurants this place is a real find. It's got great atmosphere, the food is really fantastic and well priced. Not crowded on a Wednesday night but I'm certain that during ski season or on weekends is packed to the gills. They had $9 Mai Tais which were equivalent to Maui quality. The chicken wings were fresh, spicy, moist and flavorful. But special shout-out to the mahi-mahi tacos, they were a really amazing with fresh papaya slaw and only a dollar extra for the very good French fries. Nelson the bartender took our order he was amazing, pleasant, courteous and took very good care of us. Next time in Mammoth I'll definitely be returning.

100% will be returning thanks to Nelson and Denise. The poke was amazing and the mia tais were top tier. This is the place if you’re missing the islands.

This tiki bar has an incredible ambiance—tropical, fun, and full of character. The décor, lighting, and overall vibe make it a great place to hang out with friends and enjoy a laid-back night out. That said, the food was hit-or-miss. I ordered the yellow curry with chicken, and it was unfortunately underwhelming. The chicken tasted prepackaged, lacking freshness and texture. The curry itself had a nice level of spice, but the rice was overcooked and the pita on the side felt unnecessary—it didn’t really complement the dish and seemed like an odd addition. Surprisingly, the chicken nachos were the star of the meal. Flavorful, well-balanced, and definitely something I’d order again—in fact, I wish I’d had a plate to myself. A friend ordered the loco moco, and while they said the gravy was tasty, the rice again wasn’t cooked properly, which seemed to be a recurring issue. The drinks, however, were excellent. I had the Banana Sling and Piña Colada, and both were well-crafted—not overly sweet, with the right balance of flavor and alcohol. Easily one of the highlights of the visit. A few notes on service style: it’s self-seating, and you place your order at the cash register, which is fine, but not always clearly communicated. Also, if you want water, you need to specifically ask for a carafe, as it’s not automatically offered. All in all, this tiki bar is worth a visit for the atmosphere and drinks, and the nachos are definitely a win. With a little more attention to the food quality and service flow, it could be a top-tier spot.
Caezar A — Google review
After a long day mountain biking in Mammoth, hubbs and I went to Lakanuki's for a beer and a Mai Tai. It's shoulder season here and it was perfect! We sat in the patio where it was nice a breezy on a 85+ degrees day. The service was fantastic and we went back the next night. I had a Pina Colada, that was divine and hubbs had another beer! The atmosphere and decor is something you would find in Hawaii, not in a mountain town, so that made it so much fun.

Fun atmosphere as a tiki bar in the mountains, good mai tai though made with fruit juices. Drinks we're all very tasty. Tasty apps! Good service.

I guess I'm confused why the stars are so low, which could speak to maybe something has changed? The bartenders were kind and responsive, the food was great, and the Tiki Bar Vibes are in full effect. It's summer/fall if that has any bearing but the food was seriously great.

Italian restaurant
Campo Mammoth is a modern-rustic restaurant that offers seasonal Italian dishes and wood-fired pies, along with a selection of beer, wine, and cocktails. The service is highly praised for being attentive and considerate. While some find the food to be typical of Mammoth with medium quality and high prices, others appreciate the cozy atmosphere and delicious offerings such as al dente risotto and Fritto Misto.
Good place to eat after skiing all day. Food was good and service was friendly. Menu is a little limited, so make sure they have what you like before you randomly show up. Mix between a bar and a semi-upper scale atmosphere. They serve Coke.
Sean K — Google review
This is what a $25 pizza looks like. Totally freaking ridiculous prices. Spent $100 on 2 burgers and 2 pizzas for Covid take out prices. The pizzas are TINY. My average sized hand practically covers the pizza. And yes the perspective is correct - my palm is touching the surface. Even for California this is insane. Do yourself a favor and go to Giovanni’s down the road if you want decent sized portions and reasonable prices. I’m incensed.
Shahab K — Google review
This place is exactly what you need after a long day in the mountains. Cozy atmosphere, chilling music and food is just perfect!!! Risotto was unexpectedly cooked al dente. Love it!!! Any the Fritto Misto is definitely one of the best in my life!
Vladislava K — Google review
Horrible. Never coming back. Food is so bad. Everything we ordered from garlic bread, to pasta, chicken and salad had bad taste and was soggy. Service very medium but really can't think of eating here ever again
Yuval K — Google review
Their pizzas are decent but small and have very little ingredients on them. They are also $25 a piece. Now your thinking maybe that's the going rate in Mammoth. It isn't. It's just a group of tourist traps that gouge their customers. Like around the corner there's a New York deli with better food for half the price. These meatballs were $16 and came with no to-go utensils. The sauce they are in tastes identical to unseasoned canned tomato puree. Yikes. On top of this our server dropped a ginger beer we ordered and we decided to replace it with a hot tea. The ginger beer was still on our bill and when we brought it up she said the ginger beer is actually cheaper which isn't true because the ginger beer was 8 dollars and a cup of tea is three to four dollars. She was just too lazy to go back and fix our bill because we've already paid it. We only went because our kid likes one of their pizzas. I personally wouldn't return.
Timothy T — Google review
The food is okay, but skip this place. They charge $6 to split a burger on top of $21 the burger costs. Unless you aren't that hungry and hate money, don't visit. See photo of receipt. There are better places in the village to eat, probably any of them.

Sandwich shop
Subway is a casual counter-service chain that specializes in customizable sandwiches and salads, catering to health-conscious diners. During my recent visit, I arrived close to closing time but was pleasantly surprised by the staff's willingness to accommodate me. Despite their preparations for closing, they efficiently crafted two delicious subs with a smile. The location itself features both indoor and outdoor seating options, along with a well-maintained restroom stocked with ample soap—definitely a plus!
This is a standalone shop with tables inside and outside. They have a well-supplied bathroom with lots of soap. Great selection of veggies (the subways at gas stations and other low-volume locations don't have tomatoes for example). This location had everything! I got a Veggie Delight with everything on it. See my photo. Pro tip: ask for spinach instead of lettuce.

Eating here was an insult to people who eat sandwiches. Neither employees spoke English very well and could not understand what we were were ordering. The tuna sandwich wad one teaspoon of tuna on dry bread for the lovely price of $9.00. The other two sandwiches were just as bad. We paid for the 3 sandwiches and walked across the street and ate A REAL SANDWICH. A two yea r old could of done a better job. I asked for salt and pepper and they literally couldn't understand what I wanted. I feel so ripped off! It was a complete joke! Its a sandwich for God sake. How could you screw that up,???

Very uninterested kids behind the counter. Yawning and seemingly impatient to explaining choices. Food wasn't warm / cheese uncooked after having been in oven. Very 'aggressive' towards pointing out tip question. Ended up giving them 5 dollars but didn't feel justified. Food wasn't as tasty as the Subways back in Europe (Netherlands). At this point in time I just hope we don't get sick... For a 65 dollar meal - yikes - I'd highly recommended a Denny's over this....

Skadi is a modern eatery named after the Norwegian goddess of hunting and skiing. The restaurant offers high-end dining with mountain views, creating an intimate setting for guests. The small space provides a view into the open kitchen, allowing diners to interact with the chef who walks around greeting patrons. Highly recommended. The ambiance and attention to detail was very appealing. Our server, Laura, was superb. My partner and I split several options so we could try more items on the menu. The complexity and flavor of the options was impressive. The presentation artful. The wine selection was splendid. Chef Ian made a point to visit our table which was a beautiful and intimate touch. Well done! Thank you for a memorable and sophisticated dinner experience. I can’t wait to return.

THE BEST meal in Mammoth. We came here on Christmas Eve. Having been to many fine dining restaurants, we were still surprisingly amazed by Skadi. Food was phenomenal, vibe was immaculate, and service was impeccable. Very reasonably priced compared to similar restaurants in LA. The chef was super fun and down to earth, very obviously proud and passionate about his creations and was eager to share his knowledge with us. We sat at the chef’s counter with an open kitchen right in front of us and loved watching the kitchen staff prep every dish. This intimate fine dining restaurant super close to the Village serving Nordic cuisine is exactly what we need after a cold and exhausting day on the slopes! Would 100% recommend!

The charming eatery offers upscale bistro fare and boasts a broad wine list. Despite its casual dress code and atmosphere, it is a popular place to see and be seen in Mammoth.
Not a typical wine bar setup, but still have great wine and food nonetheless. Our waiter is very helpful. The food style is about subtle flavor and letting the fresh ingredients shine and it's done really well. (not sure if the chef will change anything about that when summer is over and skiers come and look for more hearty pleasure)

If you are wanting a sit down dinner in Mammoth, go to Petra. It has all the vibes of a cozy intimate sit down high end house, but without the stuck up nature they come with. They have the largest wine selection in mammoth, James will guide you through the extensive menu, and if you are lucky enough might join you for a glass. You can order anything on the menu and not go wrong, but if you want the highlights and order like a local; duck confit, butternut squash gnocchi, crispy Brussels, mushrooms, Coq Au Vin. Always ask if Tony can wait your table, but considering he’s a popular guy, request ahead. Mammoth has plenty of restaurants, stop debating and call them because they’ll be booked anytime.

First time in Mammoth and ate at a couple of other restaurants in the area the previous 2 nights. Petra's is my favorite out of the 3, but it was also the most expensive. We had the Salmon Trio, the Caesar salad, the clams and the Salmon entree. All of the food was very good and the waiter Tony was very nice.

Really happy with the food, the atmosphere, and the service. I was torn between the duck and the bolognese, so I got both. I recommend you ask the server if they can do an entree of the Duck Confit. The legs are cooked perfectly and the risotto compliments it wonderfully. The bolognese hits the spot if you’re craving pasta with a nice meat sauce. The portions are healthy so come hungry.

Unfortunately, Mammoth does not have a lot of higher-end restaurants but Petra is definitely a solid option for foodies. Service is very good and the food is well priced given the quality. Order the Baked Brie or the Duck Confit as an appetizer...Salmon or Short Ribs for Main Course. ENJOY!

Interesting menu with delicious appetizers and shares. Huge selection of wines and cocktails. Awesome service and atmosphere 👍 will definitely go back next time I am in Mammoth Lakes again.

The Grilled Octopus with browned butter was my favorite. Everything was delicious. The best part of this dining experience was their service and Brandon went above and beyond with kindness and professionalism. He gave us some great suggestions and I look forward to going back.

Amazing food. Located at the Alpenhof Lodge, across the street from the Canyons Center, this is old world atmosphere coupled with a modern culinary approach.

History Museums
The Mammoth Museum at the Hayden Cabin offers a glimpse into the local history of Mammoth Lakes. Housed in a 1920s log cabin, this museum showcases exhibits and memorabilia from the 1930s, when it served as a hunting and fishing lodge for summer visitors. Visitors can explore historic mining and tourism industry exhibits in three of the four bedrooms that were once available for rent.
We attended the 2024 Eastern Sierra Book Festival, which was held at the Hayden Cabin Museum. The Museum was closed during the event, so we didn't have a chance to get inside, but the immediate area is stunning. The sounds of a babbling creek with stunning views all around you. Tough to beat. So impressed with this Community and how they support local events such as the wonderful Book Festival. Stellar Brew with their delicious coffee's and pastries was on site (a local sponsor of the event), and my daughter and I stayed for a couple of hours listening to all the authors share their unique stories and journey. We thoroughly enjoyed the storytelling time...and the used books for sale! Walked away with several purchased books and some great memories! Looking forward to the 2025 Festival. Highly recommend you visit and support the local community. Fun day!

A quaint museum in an authentic log cabin by a stream. In fact there are two log cabins. There are hundreds of historic and antique objects in the main cabin, including sleds, quilts and kitchen utensils, as well as hunting trophies. It's run by the local historical society so you might get a tour from a volunteer guide. We did, and it was great to hear the history, about key people and different things in the cabin. It was worth the small donation. (A donation is optional, but you should to help unique historic sites like this stay alive.)
Elliott B — Google review
This was a nice place. Just be careful because it is a little hidden away. There is so much history in this little cabin and a little creek that runs next to it, too. A must stop by and see for yourself.
Lydia M — Google review
Was closed, a lady walking her dog came by and thinks it is closed for winter. Beautiful location right on the running creek with picnic tables.
Beth S — Google review
Note there is a suggested donation of $5, in cash. They can't accept a CC donation. It is on nice grounds next to Mammoth creek. Across the creek there are people fishing, there are some small hiking trails. The cabin itself has historical artifacts inside from the family that used it as a summer cabin. Worth seeing if you have time.

The experience I had at this Museum was better then any other Museum. The tour guides where every knowledgeable about the cabin, the man that built it and his family along with the surrounding area. My family and I had a great time.

It's closed when we went there but this awesome guy named Stu accommodated and allowed us to enter! He even told us the story behind this Museum. Thank you Stu!

A great little piece of history which is a must see. Seems like these were the people that got the whole thing kicked off before the McCoys came and built up Mammoth Mountain ski area! The museum curator was very knowledgeable and told us all kinds of really interesting facts about how it got started here. The Hayden's drove there Ford car up the mountain to get a cedar and pull it down off the mountain to build the very cabin that you can stand in. Complete with a hatch door to the master bedroom and the kitchen that was very up-to-date in the 1920s. Even if all you do is walk through and gain a little history It's interesting to see the amazing maps that were drawn by hand! If we get a chance we will be going back

Park
Mammoth Creek Park is a charming creekside venue that offers a perfect setting for picnics, featuring shade trees, clean restrooms, and a seasonal playground. Although it's currently closed for construction, this public park is praised for its updated playground suitable for both toddlers and older kids. The park also boasts scenic mountain views, ample picnic tables, and grassy areas. Visitors can enjoy a leisurely walk along the trail with picturesque views of the mountains and the creek.
We had a great time with our kids, walking on the trail and also using the park. There are a few parts of the park that you would wanna watch your kids on, but in general it seemed like there was something for everyone.

The park itself is on BLM land, but the access is kindly allowed through private property. Please keep clean and don't be a Richard so access can continue. Beautiful meadows, woods and stream, a hidden gem hard to find without using an app like all trails.

Mammoth Creek Park is a relaxing spot with beautiful creek views, picnic areas, and shaded trails. Perfect for family outings and nature lovers alike!

This park is beautiful, there are so many different sights to see just from the trail alone! I went while there's still snow out so the view from the trail has the perfect area for taking pictures of both the mountain and the creek. No matter what season you visit Mammoth, if you want to take a breather and take a nice walk, Mammoth Creek Park is a nice little area to visit!

This park was a beautiful stop for us on our long drive. The playground looks updated and is in great shape. There is an area for toddlers as well as bigger kids. The creek is on the other side of the restrooms and an easy walk for little ones. Lots of picnic tables and grassy areas with mountain views. I will say the clean bathrooms have no toilet seat, just a metal bowl which was cold in July. So, I don’t recommend using it during colder months unless you and your party members don’t mind squatting.

Park
Shady Rest Park, located off Main Street in Mammoth Lakes, is a popular spot for outdoor activities and family-friendly picnics. The park features a concession stand, picnic areas, playgrounds, sports facilities including baseball fields and volleyball sand areas. Visitors can enjoy walking trails surrounded by towering pines and even find a skateboard/bike park with ramps suitable for young kids. Additionally, the park offers opportunities for cross-country skiing during the winter months when there is plenty of snow.
Great nature park inside an old established pine forest. In the middle there are several sports grounds, very clean facilities, many picnic tables both covered and uncovered, a nice playground and a skate park. Lots of trails to explore and well connected to the main road via a 1/2 long path. Dog and stroller friendly.

Beautiful park to handout with the family. They have a playground for the little ones and basketball courts for the teens along with a huge field with the most amazing grass. We went with our X-Country group and the kids played all kind of games with a soccer ball and just old fashion tag. On Tuesday we were there, they had a running group that was giving some tips to students hosted by ASICS. The runners got to listen to some Olympic champions give them running tips and how to deal with failure. I think this groups meets on a weekly basis at the park in the off-season.

Fantastic park in Mammoth Lakes, a little way off the central roads but still very accessible. It has a great playground, nice big grassy field for soccer or other games, plus walking trails through the tall trees. Such a great place to come relax and enjoy the outdoors!

EXCEPTIONAL⭐️PARK⭐️PLAY⭐️EXPLORE While at Mammoth I was looking for a quick spot to take my pup for a walk. The park is only a couple miles from the Ski resorts, but as soon as we drove in it felt like it's own secluded magical forest. There roads become soft dirt roads. There is loads of hiking trails and picnic areas. There is also a skateboard/bike park, with ramps small enough for young kids. There's a baseball field, and volleyball sand area. Everything is sectioned off nicely, but feels open and accessible. I did see several potty bag containers for pets. The signs posted as that all dogs stay on leash. There is ample parking. We parked and walked into the trees instead of the park. The wind was howling and there was still snow on the floor, which my pup loved. We walked for quite a ways and saw lots of blue birds and noticed golf spots sprinkled around the forest, as well as Frisbee golf stands, which made us feel very safe and comfortable. After an hour we walked back to the car. There's little service in the dense trees, but after a short walk (10 min) in any direction the GPS picks back up. Charge your phone. Enjoy!

A nice little rest stop to let the kids play. The restrooms are nice and there is a covered shelter and grilling area. The ball fields and volleyball sand pit would also be fun if you brought equipment. There is also a large open field where you could play football or soccer ⚽️.

1st time visiting this park for a first time attempt at X-country skiing. There was plenty of snow - a good storm about 14 days ago - and the teams were groomed. The x-crountry grooming was wearing, but it was good. The park was clean and well maintained. We also loved that so many people were out with family and dogs.

Kitchen closes very early. Loud and unkempt. That has an appeal at times, but I feel mostly when you're 12 to 23 years old. Stellar Brew & Natural Cafe is a popular daytime coffeehouse located in a distinctive bright blue A-frame house on Main Street. Founded by local Andrea Walker, it's known for its locally-roasted coffee, organic sustainable food, and laid-back vibe. The menu features healthy grab-and-go options including gluten-free, vegan, and vegetarian meals.
I’ve been going here 3 to 5 times a week for almost a year. The staff is friendly, and welcoming. The place feels community oriented and magical inside. My favorite go to spot💛💛✨, and on busy days you dont have to wait in line and can pay via venmo for their grab and go burritos/sandwiches and coffee.
Cyd G — Google review
Went here thanks to 4.5 stars google reviews but was not expecting this much line. Was there at 7:30 am, google says opens at 7 am and the line was already from cashier to way past the door. Should have announced that as early as 530 am, the cafe is open. I even saw in their menu that from 5:30-7:30 they offer happy hour - cup of coffee free for order of breakfast sandwich Speciality coffees were tasty especially the stellar brûlée, however, the food took more than 30 mins for a bagel cheese egg. I even asked the tall guy in flannel shirt if they called in my order and his reply was so annoying, “oh you have to wait more” I guess they were lacking staff and overwhelmed with lots of customers. Like i said I arrived there at 7:30 and went out at 8:50 am. The long wait ruined the vibe, as the interior itself looked cute and cozy, with hammered copper pendant lights, rustic seating and even with free board games First and last visit, the price for breakfast burrito , bomber bagel, matcha latte medium and stellar brûlée came to almost 50 usd. Not worth the wait and to be honest , kinda overrated.

Don’t believe the hype! This place sucks! Vons grade bagels, rotten yogurt parfaits that take 30 minutes when it’s the easiest thing to make. This happened when it was slow too. It’s absolute garbage painted to look pretty. TRENDY MENU, TRASH FOOD

I'm visiting Mammoth Lakes for the month of June, and having that local spot to sip and chill is important to me. More importantly...do they offer quality whole beans to take home?! Check it out...I found the place. Beans and all. I've tried their Americano and their Cappuccino so far, (I'll be back for sure), both delicious and appealing to the eye. The service has been superb, friendly, and efficient. Cool place to hang, inside or out. Feels very quaint and local, and it appears many of the locals frequent the place. Awesome people watching. Their outside seating perfectly embraces the warm sun and mountain air. Just wonderful! Mountain Town vibe and quality coffee! Highly recommend

Amazing coffee shop in Mammoth village. Opens earlier than most at 6am. Grab and go warm breakfast options can also be made to order, made vegetarian etc and are super wholesome. Muffins and cookies and especially bread pudding for sweet treats. Happy hour deal on drip if you bring your own mug!

This is a small breakfast place in Mammoth. It is a vegan and vegetarian friendly place. I had the spinach and potato flat bread with the gotcha matcha smoothie. The smoothie was good and the banana flavor was nice and prominent. The flatbread was decent. My browns had the vegan double Sammy and the banana muffin. Both were ok or average tasting. They have a good choice of food and beverages and some decent merchandise. There is indoor and outdoor seating and the view outside is scenic

Thai'd Up is a casual eatery situated on Old Mammoth Road, offering classic Thai dishes like red curry, beef stir-fry, and pad see ew. The restaurant prides itself on serving authentic Thai cuisine reminiscent of the flavors found on the streets of Bangkok. Visitors can expect delicious food, local beers on tap, and a welcoming wait staff. Notable menu items include excellent Pad Thai and a unique take on pineapple fried rice.
Thai'd Up is worth the stop. Delicious food, local beers on tap, and friendly wait staff. The Pad Thai was excellent, and they had the best take on pineapple fried rice I've ever seen.
John A — Google review
Not worth the price for the amount of food and quality (the flavor was very generic, almost like a premade meal. Not terrible, but not great.). Despite choosing our spice levels, there was no heat in any of the dishes we ordered. My panang curry was really sweet and yellow, and I couldn't really taste the panang or kefir lime leaf. It was also mostly rice which was a little disappointing for how expensive it was. The pad Thai had a good amount of food and my boyfriend seemed to like just fine though.
Maria W — Google review
Was really disappointed with the quality and taste of the food here. I can say I've never had Thai food that has lacked flavor as much as this restaurant. The location itself is quite small, but I have my local joints that are even smaller than this location and still are quicker to serve their customers and have much better tasting food. The gentleman that was at the front counter had a very sarcastic attitude that showed the volume of customers that were coming though his doors was stressing him out. The whole staff of the restaurant seemed to lack any kind of confidence. I ordered two items - pad see ewe and tom yong goong. The I try to give the benefit of the doubt to the restaurant but the food was just so lackluster. They should venture into a different type of cuisine. Traditionally pad see ewe is made with wide flat noodles, however they opted to use noodles similar to those of what are found in pad thai. I gave it a chance as the food actually didn't look half bad, but I was wrong. It seemed like they just cooked the beef in some sort of sauce then put it on top of the noodles hoping the flavor would seep into the noodles. It did not. It had somewhat of an artificial taste to it too, as if it had been reheated in a plastic container or something similar. The soup was the saddest excuse of tom yong goong I have ever tasted. Everything in the soup tasted like it came out of a can - the mushrooms, the baby corn; even the shrimp was overcooked! Lacked the normally lovely lemongrass flavor of tom yong soups and was just so watered down. Never have I thrown away food I barely touched - I am a believer in keeping food waste to a minimum but the food was just unpalatable. The staff of this restaurant all need to go try real Thai food at an authentic Thai restaurant and see where they went wrong.

This place was great if Thai food is what you want. Was pleasantly surprised as this place doesn’t have good reviews but gave it a shot anyways. Happy to have swung by for a nice warm bowl of Pad Thai. Scott was super friendly and gave the place a nice vibe. Portions were large and tasted as good as expected.

Horrible. Got the chicken w/ pad thai. Wrong noodles. WHERE'S THE VEGGIES?! Tasteless. Got the 4 on the spicy scale "will make you sweat" they said... What a joke! Barely a tingle. Would NOT recommend, even if you have the munchies.

The yellow curry is very good. Glad I added fried rice. 3 spiciness is good for still being able to taste everything and still have a kick.
Scott S — Google review
The food was decent, certainly not good enough for the price. Had pineapple fried rice, Pad Thai, spring rolls and some hot tea on the side. The rice, especially did not have a good flavor. Rice grains seemed to be of low quality, overcooked. The atmosphere feels a little stuffy. But our server was very quick and friendly.
Madhura G — Google review
The server was nice and the venue is cute, but the food is absolutely horrible. I love Thai but I'm not super picky and will usually enjoy pretty much any "Asian-inspired" American food. The pad thai was flavorless, the tofu in it was burned, the summer rolls were wrapped in some sort of very mealy-textured rice paper that immediately disintegrated, and the peanut sauce had a bad taste and texture. The food was also very expensive.

Phenomenal food and excellent service. We moved to CA from SoFLA more than a decade ago and have been searching for good cuban food ever since. We finally found it at Dos Alas. It's a culinary hug nestled in Mammoth Lakes. The mojo marinated pork is spot on, the escabeche is delightful, and the portions are large. The sangrias are also refreshing as well balanced. They are busy (be smarter than us and get a reservation) and so very accommodating to customers. All of the staff were so kind and made everyone feel welcome. Dos Alas made the trip!

Amazing! As Cubans living in Miami, we never expected to find such a delicious Cuban/Puerto Rican restaurant in Mammoth Lakes. We made reservations at 8:30 pm and were seated promptly. The food, the service and ambiance were excellent! You can tell the owner Christy loves what she does because she gave us great recommendations. We had the garlic bread, piñon with rice and habichuelas (red kidney beans), and pork with rice and black beans. Highly recommend checking it out, you won’t regret it.
Harry — Google review
I’ll start by saying the food was INCREDIBLE! Everything we ordered was really well done. We got the platanos to start (they are a side dish) and it was crispy and great with their sauces. The owner makes a delicious hot sauce that went well on pretty much everything. I had the Cubano and the balanced sweet and savory of the meat really stood out to me. There was a great meat to bread ratio and the flavors of the sandwich really was authentically Cuban with its own unique twist. The restaurant itself reflected the vibrancy of Cuban culture and food. Lots of art, colorful walls, live music! We came in a little later and closer to closing and it was packed on a weekday at the time we came in. The only critique I have is that it was a little confusing to understand where to go to get seated but it’s kind of in the center of the restaurant. It took us a little longer to get seated and once we were seated we did not get helped right away. That being said, the waiters and waitresses were so busy with the amount of people there and once we were helped the service was great. I honestly think it is a reflection of how great the restaurant that it is this busy. Overall, incredible experience and will definitely be coming back next time I come through town!

4.5 stars. Great little restaurant in Mammoth that gets busy, so we highly recommend reservations. It can be a little cramped so just be prepared to squeeze through tables. Their menu is overall delicious. We tried a bunch of things, but I'm sure the stuff we didn't try is also good. We started out with a carafe of Sangria. The Sangria is definitely one of the best I've ever had (and I love Sangria). We liked it so much, we got another carafe to end dinner with. Then came the Spanish potato and egg pie. Yum or delicious is not enough to describe this pie - hot, fried, perfectly seasoned...it was just the thing we needed on a cold night and an entire day of driving. I absolutely recommend this! This was followed by the 3 piece skewers (pork much better than the chicken), the crispy plantains (an absolute delight to eat, particularly with the garlic sauce and the sweet sauce they came with), the fried plantains (not really my style but they were also good), and the pickled chicken. The pickled chicken was disappointing. It wasn't as cooked as we would've liked it. The pickled liquid and onion with olives were very yummy. So, we ended up having that, rather than the chicken pieces. For the main, I got the manchego cheese and guava jelly sandwich because it was different and I wanted to try it. It had an option of adding ham. I did. Don't do it. The ham wasn't as crispy as I would've liked and it made the whole sandwich very salty. Without the ham, the sandwich was very yummy! Definitely on the sweeter side but totally worth it. I highly recommend it. The beef stew and the meat pie basically have the stew which is a highlight of the meal. Whichever one you take, you win! The bean soup accompanying them was also delicious. Again, I highly recommend it. This was our best dining experience in Mammoth. The food is worth the wait and pricing. An absolute must-check-out when you come here. P.S. the parking lot is the first left before the restaurant so please don't drive all the way to the restaurant building as you will be on a dirt road. The servers are nice but there could be a language barrier. The pricing is on the higher side.

It has a rustic ambiance with Caribbean vibe. It's a resort town, and it's reflected in their pricing. Flavors are ok. Our pork skewer was dry. We have pickled shrimp and octopus; the flavor is all right, but it's kind of off putting with eggs and oil. Guava Glazed Ham was cooked very nicely; however it is way too sweet. Ground beef stew with rice was interesting; olives made the dish work. However, all the entrees are heavy on the rice and beans with a small portion of protein. The host seemed to be offended when we didn't want to take beans with us. It's just beans, and the Cuban Black Beans are just bland.

My family and I went here on a Saturday night. Party of 6. Ordered beers, wine, sangria and fried plantain things (I forget the name). We had various dishes. The food, service and vibe were outstanding! We will be back!!
