Shopping mall

Valley Mall is a charming enclosed shopping destination that offers a delightful mix of major retail chains, sporting goods, and essential items. Visitors can enjoy leisurely strolls through its clean and pleasant environment, although some may feel a tinge of nostalgia as they notice several closed stores. The mall features an impressive selection of shops, making it easy to find what you need without straying too far from one spot to another.
Superb! This mall is amazing with a great selections of stores! There is an amazing pretzel shopp there too with amazing cinnamon pretzel nuggets! The stores arent far apart and are easy to walk to. Great service is always close and are very helpful if your lost and if you need to know where to go!

Malls are like walking into the 1980s with so many flashbacks of when I was much younger. It was very dated and but clean. I enjoyed walking through the mall and was actually enjoyable. I think malls are a great place to walk around and go store to store with many different items and choices. I would recommend taking the time and just trying to go shopping in the mall..
Mike V — Google review
We were visiting the area and we always seek out the local mall wherever we go... This mall was nice, but very small. It was clean however, and had a few of our favorite stores, but you can literally see the entire inside of the mall from almost anywhere you stand. We were there on a weekend and it was sad to see how few people there were there.
Tracy — Google review
Needs a better food court and more bathrooms but there are plenty of stores and people. Place was very clean as well. More then decent for a one story adopting mall.
Michael H — Google review
Visited 1/4/24. Don't waste your time going here. The mall is small and half of the retail spaces were empty or closed. As you to see in the pictures, the mall was practically empty with customers.
Ebonyeyes — Google review
Like the shopping malls you remember, with most of the same stores. Although there are a lot of empty storefronts, there’s still plenty of places to shop such as J.C. Penney, Belk, Bath and Body Works, Spencer’s, Hot Topic, Old Navy and more.
Occoquan1 — Google review
It opens at 12:30pm on Sundays til 5:30 pm, not great. They are adding new stores, like 5 Below and Hallmark. Hope it brings life to the mall.

I remember the first time I entered. I entered with a face of shock! It is a nice place and would definitely recommend to go. Definitely get the Chinese food there!!

Fun & Games
A Dream Come True Playground is a specially designed site that caters to children with various special needs. It features two separate areas for different age groups, offering a wide range of equipment and amenities such as roadways for toy vehicles, drawing walls, hammock swings, rainbow arches, wheelchair-accessible swings, picnic pavilion, and bathrooms. The playground was initiated by the Vasquez family in 2016 to fulfill Mia's dream of an inclusive playground.
This park never disappoints, this time was even better than ever before as the JMU students for the art fraternity were putting on an art event to engage the community, a great safe place with vigilant community members

🌟 5 Stars – Truly a Dream Come True! 🌟 A Dream Come True Playground is one of the best and most thoughtfully designed playgrounds we've ever visited. Every time we're in Harrisonburg, we make sure to stop by—it’s fun, safe, and perfect for kids of all ages and abilities. The space is clean, colorful, and full of creative play structures that keep kids entertained for hours. We especially appreciate how inclusive the design is—there’s something for everyone, and it’s clear that a lot of love went into making this a welcoming place for all families. It's not just a playground—it’s a memory-making spot. Huge thanks to the city for creating such a wonderful space. Highly recommend it to anyone visiting with children!
Andy L — Google review
Loved visiting a dream come true. We stopped through the area overnight in a road trip and went here for our daughter to burn some energy. She made friends with lots of kids and played for a couple house, never getting bored. It’s clean and organized. Highly recommend
Scott M — Google review
Well maintained park. I appreciate the rubber play surface and the variety of climbing, swinging, and sliding options. Even at 18 months, my child could be pretty independent as he explored. This park is fairly accessible for little ones with physical disabilities with ramps on the play structures and different swings to accommodate different needs. My son and I loved to swing on the swing with an adult seat and a baby seat. It's a fun way for parents/caregivers to engage with their child. I appreciate the shade canopies in the summer months and the picnic area as well.
Carrie J — Google review
It’s a decent playground for kids, ample amount of swings, slides etc. Even has shaded areas so that it doesn’t get too hot for both parents and kids while playing in the slide area. Has restrooms, picnic area, benches, ample parking. The only thing I would add is the splash pads which weren’t there. I believe there’s a rainbow arch which shoots water but it wasn’t even open or working when we last went there which was mid June.
DJ — Google review
Wonderful park! Excellent for families with children of different ages. That being said, it's so big you might need more than one adult to keep track of the kids! It's a lovely place to visit with huge, beautiful trees, shaded benches and accessible play for children of different ages! Add to that a spacious family bathroom and this becomes the best spot for traveling families and locals alike!
Adaris R — Google review
Such a fun playground! It’s super clean, there are nice restrooms, and the playground has everything for all ages to have a fun afternoon out. I like the soft ground on the riding path for kids!

Nestled within the vibrant campus of James Madison University, the Edith J. Carrier Arboretum is a stunning 125-acre botanical garden that invites visitors to explore its diverse natural beauty. This enchanting space features an array of Virginia wildflowers, majestic magnolia trees, and a native oak-hickory forest, creating a serene escape right in the city’s heart. Lovely spot! Beautiful in the spring as things open up and start to bloom! Parking is relatively easy during the week but could be tricky on the weekends. The kids play are is awesome, a magical fairy land with a storybook trail and lots of interactive play. Bridges, ponds, gravel trails, lots of outdoor magical play!
Alicia W — Google review
What a treat! Many wood chipped wide walking trails winding between the trees. The landscape varies and is beautiful. Statues and Foot bridges make it fun. There are restrooms and a picnic pavilion. There is a pretty pond with fish. Kid friendly & peaceful.
Cindy S — Google review
This was a great place to stop and smell the flowers. The walking paths are clearly marked and the map is easy to Follow. You won't need all day to explore this beatiful place just an hour or two. Definitely worth the time.

Peaceful, beautiful and intriguing. Even in the fall there are some beautiful wildflowers. It has a labyrinth, a children's exploration area and nice walking paths.

What a truly beautiful place. Wonderful walking trails with a great variety of plants, trees & flowers. So close to the city, yet very quiet & peaceful.
Jim A — Google review
Perfect for long walks in deep forest (3 miles) or short visits with wiggly kids (even 10 mins is a fantastic experience). It's Grounding, healing, feels like real nature with a twist of TLC.
Katie R — Google review
Beautiful fall foliage while we were here for a brief visit. Would like to return when we have more time to walk the loop trails.
Ellie G — Google review
Beautiful place to visit! They have done a fantastic job at making this a relaxing and scenic place to walk. The tree canopy above keeps the Arboretum feeling private and it helps provide shade. There is plenty of benches to stop and enjoy nature. Love that it is dog friendly and well maintained. There is a variety of walking trails and even without a map, it was easy to find your way back to the starting point. Many of the trails are dirt/mulch, and there is a pond with a concrete walkway for an easier walk. We parked in JMU lot R5, which was free for Arboretum guests. As a warning for those that park there, it was quite steep to get down to the trails, but there are two other lots available that would be an easier entry/exit for those with mobility concerns.

Great for kids of all ages. All 3 of our kids enjoyed their time there. It was very busy, but we came on a Saturday morning so it’s understandable. Would definitely recommend coming here for some great indoor fun. The vacuum tubes and scarves were my son’s favorite.

We have a children's history museum in dayton. I was going into this one thinking it would be more like that. It definitely wasn't. Much more hands on. My kids had so much more fun there than boonshoft.
Calvin R — Google review
This place is so much fun and great for kids to learn while they play. My husband and I had a lot of fun too honestly. Everyone got to explore all sorts of pieces of life(the human body, jobs, finances, auto work, theater, and many more) with tons of chances for imagination and creativity!

Highly recommend if visiting or live in the area! We stayed at the Massanutten resort and took our 13 month old. There are 2 sections for kids under two as well as various sections for other ranges of age groups. Our toddler was still able to enjoy other sections that were for older kids as well. Well worth it for the money and she loved it!
Lisa C — Google review
This place is awesome and would be a member in a heartbeat if I lived locally in the area. However I visited from out of town with my two year old. We came at opening. The staff were courteous, explain how things work, and super friendly. Our child loved it as soon as we entered found blocks to build. Lots of educational opportunities for older and younger children. Despite a school group being there felt like plenty of space and places to play and have room. It has two floors which can be transverse by stairs or elevator. So got lots of places to build, pretend (airport, grocery, house, pet care, etc), create, or even relax and read. Now j don't know if it is this way all the time, but our ticket allowed us to come back after his lunch and nap to play some more.
Krystal W — Google review
We just visited here a few days ago and we had 12 people in our party. We actually lucked out and was able to just walk up in and pay to go in. They were not busy so they could fit us in. They do strongly suggest booking ahead of time. But they have 2 floors of various activities. The kids were going from activity to activity. There was so much to do and we had age range from 2 through 60 and everyone was having a good time. Definitely recommend coming here. And mask are now optional as I seen someone else mention that mask were required only a few months ago.

I'd like to think that we are a family that is seasoned in Children's museums. This is definitely one of the better ones that we've been to. We were looking for something to do on our checkout day from Massanutten resort and we saw this on the way up north 81 so we decided to let the kids expel some energy before a 4-Hour car ride. It was a little bit difficult to find. The GPS brought us to the front entrance but the parking is actually behind so we had to go around the block. The attendant at the front was very nice. The price is great for a children's museum. Some other places we've been to are just so expensive compared to this. Right off the bat, they have some unique things when it comes to Children's museums. We love the science center right when you come in with lots of different activities for preschool or elementary level kids. Our son attends a Montessori School up north so a lot of the stuff in that science center was right up his alley. The news broadcasting center was down while we were there for refurbishment. There's still plenty to do with that not being accessible to us. My daughter (9) loved the theater area and we had the counting popcorn toys in our Amazon cart by the time we left. I do think that they could upgrade some of the costumes. Since she was a little bit older there weren't a lot of options for her. She eventually settled on some butterfly wings but I could see her longing as a little girl ran around in a full princess dress. My son absolutely loved the aviation area on the second floor, Thomas the train set, ambulance, and car repair shop. All of them were great for a child obsessed with vehicles.
Meredith Y — Google review
So much fun! My children range from ages 3-15 and they all had a blast. My oldest kids did woodwork and button-making upstairs and my tot was literally all over the place. Lovely dedications to family members throughout and so many items for every interest your child has. Also, a big plus, there were friendly staff cleaning and sanitizing the entire time. We live three hours away but we will be back. Thank you for making my kid's day.

The food was fabulous. Jacks sauce a must!! Dr. Gonzo burger was the messy burger you want to eat!! Fries perfectly crisp without the over gress. And the blackberry bear is perfect match made in heaven. Friendly staff and fast service. MUST TRY.

My entire family loved the food here. The smash burgers were all phenomenal. I had the Elvis which is a burger with peanut butter. Weirdly great! My daughter had the Brady burger which was a burger with mac n cheese and bbq potato chips. My wife enjoyed her cowboy burger which had cheese bacon and bbq sauce. The cheese fries were also excellent! It was all very reasonably priced too!

Great spot for an outstanding burger and fries. We sat at the bar and the service was exceptional and the entire staff was attentive. They were extremely busy for lunch, however, you would never know as this was a well oiled machine and everyone was doing their part. The Cobra Kai was outstanding and I highly recommend.

The atmosphere is definitely unique and warming. The food proportions were a bit small but extremely delicious. I had the Elvis with cheese fries (additional $6) and a scrumptious watermelon margarita. We also finished our meal with fried Oreo (10 out of 10).

My wife and I ordered takeout here so I am not reviewing the servers or dine-in service. However, if you need a 🍔 burger to take home or on the road along with some tasty, salty, and crunchy 🍟 fries, Billy Jack's got your back. The prices are affordable, the to-go service is fast and from the moment you walk in, you are right back out in a flash. Pub/bar food. The atmosphere is chilled and the folks are nice and easy to talk to. The food is solid. They do have monthly specials. Street parking or you can park in the corner of East Waters/S. Federal or behind the library.
Ann M — Google review
Parking: there is free parking behind the building and more across the street in the back of the building, plus street parking. The food was delicious, we had a couple of burgers 🍔 and some fries. The burgers were well seasoned and made my mouth water for a second bite. The fries were crispy, not to salty and soft and fluffy inside. Dipped in ketchup with hot sauce mixed in they really hot the spot. Service was spectacular with 2 people checking in on us and getting our cold beers to go with our food. It's a quirky looking place that seems to split up into 3 or 4 rooms inside and an outside patio that is dog friendly. The day we are here there were a lot of parents dropping their freshmen off at school so the vibe was sad parents and nervous kids or parents that were thrilled to get the rug rats out of the house with kids that really didn't want to go to school. But either way we enjoyed our visit and would go back. Give this review a like now before it's to late 👍❤️. 🍔 The burgers are 1/4qtr lb but you can add 1 or 2 patties to really turn that burger into a meal😁. OK hot the like button or mark as helpful, thanks, enjoy your meal.

What a gem! Stopped in to catch some of the NFL game and meet a colleague. The vibe was college town which Harrisonburg is. Crowd was lively but cool. The menu prices are excellent for what you get. Tried the chicken and waffles along with this girl scout inspired donut. Delicious! Didn't expect it to be honest meaning how good! Bartenders were all friendly and checked on us regularly. Great drink selection and prices.

Great college bar atmosphere as expected. We went for the season opener football game day Saturday brunch at noon and it was packed. It was loud but not too loud to not be able to hear each other. Despite being packed, service was fast and friendly. Better yet, the food was fantastic. We had a mimosa carafe, the garden bowl (best option for someone not wanting a lot of fried food), redneck nachos on tots (seriously one of the best combinations of food I've had in a while) and the chicken sammy (perfectly fried, not over breaded). Prices are very reasonable compared to other similar restaurants. This is absolutely a repeat spot.

One of the best meals we've had while we were on vacation in massanutten. The place is tucked in the middle of downtown Harrisonburg, looks very cool inside. Everyone was satisfied with their meal. We tried the fried green tomatoes and wings for a starter, they were amazing. Then we had the BBQ combo, a burger and a salad with salmon, everything was delicious, the BBQ meats were cooked and smoked to perfection, the sides were equally as tasty as the main dishes. Highly recommend the Jimmy sprouts, brisket and wings, so so good!!

Really good brisket, pulled pork, and nachos! We also had the chicken waffle sandwich, 10/10! The fries were not very good, but their other sides we tried were bangin - Mac and cheese, hush puppies!

We got into town on the later side and were looking for dinner. So glad this place was open! We sat on the rooftop deck and the bartender (says Arwen on the receipt) waited on us. She was awesome making sure we didn’t wait on anything or need anything. The manager was super accommodating as well with requests. Overall we would definitely come back if we were in the area again!

Husband was requesting meat so he picked this place. It was a good choice. The moist brisket was good and he really enjoyed the meatloaf. I loved his brussel sprouts and broccoli salad. My chicken and waffle sandwich was ok. I loved the atmosphere here on the second floor but the rooftop seemed to be where the most action was. It was beautiful up there. This little town was adorable btw.

In town on business. Decided to give this place a try. Decent barbecue-the meat tasted good by itself and there was a good selection of barbecue sauces. Place seemed to have a wide variety of beer, wine, and cocktail options. Perfect place for a gameday hang.

Cool place. Food was ok to good. I didnt care for the brisket because it was very fatty. The hush puppies were crispy and good. Liked the Mac and cheese. Meatloaf was ok. Brussel sprouts were the bomb. Sat upstairs which was cool but you could see lots of dust on the beams and ducts. Very good service.

Amazing chicken salad and gluten free brownie! I was very pleased with everything and didn't get a weird look when I asked for no bread. They offered to make it into a salad with lettuce but I'm not a fan of lettuce. It was refreshing to get asked options! I can't recommend this place enough!

Very personable staff. Three of us got the breakfast sandwiches with their fresh bagels and they were fantastic! One other person got the wrap with turkey and avocado, and he also thoroughly enjoyed it. Even the plain old drip coffee was abnormally good. Could not recommend enough!

Breakfast on the fly! Traveling through the area and decided to get a hotel room for the night and finish driving in the morning. The concierge at the hotel recommended this place for breakfast before we hit the road. We were really happy with the recommendation! The food was fresh and exceeded our expectations! The staff is friendly and took time recommending their favorite items and most popular things on their menu (despite how busy it was) when we're back in the area, we can't wait to have breakfast here again!

Great memories from years ago, I wanted to treat my granddaughter to lunch. I was so disappointed. Grilled cheese was barely grilled, so cold cheese. The wrap was poorly made and tasted stale. Blueberry muffin was dry. And, quite pricey for location and old setting. Will not be returning.

The food was not especially memorable in either a good or bad way; handmade to order and some ingredients are locally sourced, so it wins out over Panera or Starbucks. Decent locally roasted coffee. Service was friendly and quick. Tables and bathrooms were clean and functional.

Great breakfast and coffee spot. The cinnamon rolls are homemade and good too. I had the breakfast wrap with Avacado, bacon, cheese, and egg. I also had a medium coffee, and a cinnamon bun. I spent $14 and change. The food came up quickly, the servers were nice and it was a nice cozy clean establishment.

Nestled in downtown Harrisonburg, the Local Chop & Grill House is housed in the historic City Produce Exchange building, exuding a rustic charm with its brick and plank decor. This grill-centric eatery prides itself on serving locally sourced meats, organic produce, and an array of craft beers. With a menu that celebrates over fifty local farmers, the restaurant offers creative dishes focusing on meat, seafood, and vegetables complemented by an extensive selection of homemade sauces and rubs.
Only 6 min from caverns and such a great place! Local beer and local meat is a great find! The atmosphere was also nice, but be ready that they don’t accept dogs inside. I’ve had service dog and was sitting outside. Local beer is an amazing. And local beef if a little tough for me, but still great. Thanks for the service.

Great food. Great service. Great atmosphere. Everything was cooked to perfection. Plenty of options for all appetites. Our server was very knowledgeable of the menu options. Highly recommended. Definitely check this spot out.

Always a perfectly cooked steak or burger - and the best place to get seared sea scallops. Their bar has a huge wine list and serves beautiful, creative seasonal cocktails. We prefer to sit in the more casual, no reservations bar area. It's cozy and the service is always wonderful.

We came here for our anniversary. We had reservations and the Assistant Manager immediately served us complimentary champagne. The bread is to-die for! We had the meatballs for an appetizer. My husband had the filet mignon with mashed potatoes. I had filet mignon with green beans and mushrooms. Both filets were cooked to perfection. The desserts were also delicious. My husband had the chocolate cake and I had the creme brûlée. We also had 2 scoops of cappuccino ice cream. Highly recommend for a nice evening out- to celebrate a special occasion or for a romantic dinner date.

I looked up the best dinner in Harrisonburg, VA… and Local Chop & Grill House came through HARD. Like, not-a-single-crumb-left kind of good. 👏🏼🔥 Started things off with a Blueberry Fizz (Prosecco | St. Germain | Lemon | Lavender | Blueberry) and it was the perfect, floral little buzz to kick off the night. Then came the jerk chicken wings with what they called money sauce — and let me tell you, they weren’t lying. I have no clue what was in it but I would 1000% dip everything I eat in it forever. For dinner, I went with the 6oz hangar steak special (yes, I had to) and it melted in my mouth. Paired with the creamiest mashed potatoes and horseradish cream — 10/10. Finished it all off with a warm peach cobbler special that made me wish I had stretchy pants on 😅 The lounge was so cozy, the vibes were immaculate, and if I lived any closer… let’s just say they’d know my order by heart.

Went for our anniversary dinner and everything was absolutely amazing! I had steak and hubby had the catfish. Service was outstanding the waiter took his time to explain each dish. Glad we chose the chophouse for our anniversary!!

My husband & I had a very enjoyable meal on our anniversary. The food was incredible & our server, Ethan was very attentive & professional. There was a small mix up with our order & Ethan was very upfront with us & provided us a credit on the bill. They were also kind enough to provide us with a free dessert (the sweet potato cake) & that as well was amazing. My only complaint would be the noise. The space the restaurant is in, is very open and sound carries. The conversations of other patrons were so loud we could barely hear each other. No fault of the restaurant, just a bit of a negative for us. Wonderful food, great portions, friendly/attentive staff. If you are not looking for a quiet/intimate meal, I would highly recommend

What a fun store to look at!! They have a Antiques and quilts, cowboy store and Christmas store. I got a early Christmas gift for the my family and friends. We could spend 2~3 hours easily. Staff was very kind and restroom was very clean too.

This place never comes up short of being amazing. It's truly a one of a kind spot that is severely underrated. Jams, pantry items, and candy and cool items for days, there's something for everyone, and there's a really good restaurant inside and there's an awesome indoor watermill! The shrimp poboy and my chai tea is delicious, with a generous amount of shrimp and a homemade bun. The Reuben is also delicious. Next time I'm definitely trying the milkshakes, and the homemade frozen desserts

I have been coming here for years, I get equipment supplies for my restaurant at the Kitchenwares store and some of my dry goods and yeast at Grandmas pantry I get my specialty jams for my Gourmet dogs and Burgers at Country Canner. Super great place I always grab a burger at The Hungry Farmer Cafe. Plenty of parking for large Vehicles and RV's

Not much here for us. Kitchen utensils in a shop. Toys in a shop. Antiques. Horse stuff and western wear. Military shop with clothing, hats, pins, decals, patches. Tuesday afternoon visit with maybe a dozen other patrons.

I came across this store years ago when my child attended a local university. Even though he graduated I still come up to this store as they have some very nice and unique items. There are actually several stores within the market. Goods range from kitchen wares, toys, and fabric to horse apparel and saddles. There is even a restaurant located inside with country style food. Definitely worth a trip.

I've been coming here for years! I love all the individual sellers- The Cannery, a couple antique areas, and a areas that sell sewing, cooking, Western wear and more. The Farmer's Cafe has great food. There's something for everyone!

Absolutely gorgeous, both the buildings and the merchandise. The cafe inside is wonderful as well and has incredible coffee and smoothies! The burgers were fresh and the onion rings were crisp and delicious. The vendors are incredibly friendly and there is so much to see! There's also a small produce market outside of the main building. The location is around a number of other services and interesting locations as well and not far from town. Overall an excellent day well spent and the prices are quite good too!

Very neat and clean grocery store with very polite staff. Prices has went way up. Not like it was when first opened!!! For 100 dollars you use to be able to fill the cart up with whatever you wanted ..not so much the case now

Neat store with pallets of discontinued, overstock, and short date items from brand names to store brands. Items vary and most are not restocked. Alot of bargains and some are not. They also sell bulk food staples that are excellent quality and restocked regularly. They have limited produce and bread selection. My favorite section is the frozen section with lots of veggies and meat selections. Friendly and helpful staff.

4/5 only because you probably couldn't do all your shopping there (at least I didn't). This place is amazing!!! There are some really great deals on things --- you never know what you might find. The produce was really nice. And if you're one of those people who love to buy random candy in the clear plastic bags with a printed label, they have an entire row for you. The spices are really cheap and there's a great variety. The amount of things I bought for $150 was shocking.

Purcell Park, located in Harrisonburg, Virginia, is a 67-acre urban park offering a wide range of outdoor activities and amenities. The park features walking trails, baseball fields, tennis courts, picnic shelters, and a playground that has been praised for its creativity and design. Visitors can enjoy the lush green spaces, shady walks, and even spot fish and turtles in the big pond. Additionally, there are restrooms conveniently located near the playground area.
Awesome family friendly park. Beautifully maintained property with pond, hiking and biking trails, ball fields, playgrounds, tennis and pickleball courts and more. Bathrooms were clean and well maintained. Parking us plentiful with multiple paved lots. The lots are large enough for any size rig or RV. I had 3 bars of Verizon 4G LTE Roaming throughout the property.

Nice little park. Wish the trails are paved. The large gravel, rocks are hard on little paws. It has a tennis court, playground that looks like a wooden castle, picnic area, plenty of parking lots. There's a restroom too but since it's almost Winter, there was a portable toilet outside the restroom building.
Tilly L — Google review
Awesome playground. Kids loved it here. A lot of thought, time and effort was put into this one. Very creatine. I thought it was really cool that there were little hidey hole caves the kids could go into with specific little openings to grab FEET! HA HA HAAAA! Thats always what I do with my kids at playgrounds. I GET FEET! Down side is, my big self could not fit in any of the hidey holes but I still got me some feet 🤣. This playground is built of almost entirely wood except for the slides and monkeybars, swings, some other things. It is rotting out in some places and the next time I go here I will be bringing a hammer. There were quite a few screws and nails sticking out of the structure. Most of which were in inconspicious places. Seems that other people or staff also keep up with this. If you get to running your hands across all the wood, you will find some. It is hard to keep track of where your children are. If you bring more than one, you may want to have 1 adult per child. For those of you who actually WATCH your children like my wife and I do. There is a cool little bridge nearby that goes over a slow river and a little bit of nature. Baseball field that looks like you have to be somebody to use it. I'm not sure and don't care to research it. There are also restrooms on property which we did not use. Overall it was a great little pak. We will be back.

Beautiful park. This is how parks should stay. Amazing baseball field. Great wooden playground! Love the walking trail. All around what a park should be.
Kirk E — Google review
I love going to Purcell Park in Harrisonburg Virginia because it is not only relaxing and quiet and a big environment with many places to walk and exercise it is also a place that has a baseball field for usually young children to play softball and even a concession stand when games are being played which no other public park has in Harrisonburg except at Veterans Stadium when there is college softball most of the time but also sometimes High School softball. The only thing I miss the most is the huge airplane that used to sit in the middle of Purcell Park back in the 1980s which is no longer there which I suppose is for safety reasons and liability issues so everyone stay safe and doesn't get harmed. I also like going over to the lake and listening to the Fountain come out and watch the Ducks when they're there.

Pizza delivery
Pizza Hut is a popular chain that offers delivery, takeout, and dine-in options. They are known for their pizza, wings, and pasta dishes as well as sides and desserts. Their advertisements on TV attracted the attention of a customer who decided to try their "A Melt" pizza. Specifically, they ordered the Pepperoni Melt from the East Market location and found it to be exceptionally good. In fact, they believe it was even better than the All Meat option they had previously tried.
This Pizza Hut was clean and nicely decorated. The staff was friendly and attentive. Our pizza was delicious. Easy accessibility.

Grilled Cheese Mania is a casual spot on Main Street that offers a variety of creative grilled cheese sandwiches. The menu includes gourmet options, with the flexibility to accommodate dietary preferences such as gluten-free and vegan choices. The classic Vegan Chao Grilled Cheese and gluten-free Johnny are popular, but there are also more adventurous options available. In addition to their food truck, the restaurant serves up comforting classics like the Mama Mania and Larold sandwiches in an unpretentious atmosphere.
Took some food to go for the family. Everyone enjoyed their food, especially the kids with their kids meals. I had the buffalo chicken melt and it was great! Such a cute little shop and everyone’s so friendly! We got the port ruby to go. The bread is toasted nice and crispy, we loved the mushroom and cheese combo but felt like the sauerkraut was a bit weird warm. We are definitely open to coming back and trying other options. Overall great experience!!

The sandwiches were very filling and delicious. My nephew found a hair in half of his sandwich and at first they were trying to say it was "cheese". After some discussion, they did replace his sandwich. We knew the difference between hair and cheese. My nephew ordered the Manic sandwich (I think this is the one with everything on it). He's a big boy and he couldn't even finish his sandwich! You definitely get your money's worth! This is definitely a place to try if you are in the Harrisonburg, VA area-it's around the corner from JMU!

This place is the coziest and most comforting food establishment I’ve ever been to. Everything it advertises to be, it is - and more. The staff have always been kind and Kathleen, the owner, is a breath of fresh air of a human. You can tell two things for sure: 1. So much heart went into this place 2. The people that are working there love being there and are treated with respect and kindness. Now let’s get to the food - Well if I could afford to eat there every day I would, but I’m not as slim as I used to be. That being said, I still somehow feel healthy after eating here despite it being grilled cheese. I so often feel heavy after eating, but this “simple comfort food” as they put it makes me feel perfectly content. Also try the Ava Mix and a cookie…. The combo is unmatched. I have so much love for this establishment. One day I’ll introduce myself to the owner and thank her in person!

Taste of Thai is a bustling restaurant located on South Main Street, offering a warm setting and a tasty takeout menu. Got to Harrisonburg and had a craving for Thai. Tried the phad kee mao (drunken noodle). It was in a bowl with good flavor. I'd rather have the noodles with the wok grill marks, but the flavor was good. Veggie spring rolls were a little bland but it has a lot of filling. Thai iced tea seems like it was not home made but the portion is good. Overall, good portions and good prices. Flavor on the noodles was good.

Fabulous place! Great service. Food comes in large portions. We ordered several dishes to share together. Everything was delicious! We are from Michigan but next time we come to the area we will definitely be back! We got the Wonton soup, egg rolls, Chef's Special noodle soup, Pad Thai, Panang Chicken, and one with a variety of seafood.

Excellent service and delicious food! We ordered the Thai wonton soup based on other reviews and it did not disappoint! Very fresh flavor and good spice blend with fresh greens. My husband had the pad thai and said it was delicious. I had the crispy beef which was also excellent with perfect texture. I ordered level 2 spicy and it brought the heat! Would recommend level 1 if you’re not one for spicy! With Thai iced tea, bill was $48 before tip.

Great atmosphere and super friendly staff! The food was quite tasty and flavorful. We opted for fried tofu for an appetizer, which was serve with a sweet chili sauce for dipping. For entrees, I got the Thai wonton soup and my fiance got the green chicken curry. Although the curry was more watery than we are used to, he asked for level 5 (the hottest) spice and it was excellent! The wonton soup was the best I've ever had, and I would return repeatedly just to eat that again. In fact, I've been thinking about it every since and wished I had more! We also had hot tea, which was delicious. We would definitely return!

Restaurant
Capital Ale House is a popular spot in downtown Harrisonburg, offering a wide range of gluten-free options such as burgers, sandwiches, and tacos. While their fries may not be suitable for those with gluten sensitivities, the side salad is highly recommended. The restaurant also provides a selection of gluten-free ciders to complement your meal. The establishment features two dining areas, banquet space, darts and billiards, and an impressive rooftop deck.
Pleasantly surprised by the excellent food and great service. The pretzel appetizer was delicious. The pork schnitzel was fantastic with tasty sauerkraut and mashed potatoes on the side. Service was prompt and friendly. They have a huge selection of beers on tap as well.

We arrived after 7pm, sat upstairs & enjoyed the slow, less crowded area. Our family of 3 enjoyed the evening. Our son is a chicken finger eater...he didn't enjoy the meal. I tried them & perhaps it was the seasoning he's not used to. I had beef stroganoff, a side salad and of course the pretzel! We drove from Massanutten and it was about 20 minutes. I can imagine how crowded it can get during the college season. There's free parking & 2 entrances into the building.

Monday burger night is where it's at! $6 for a high quality double burger. The Bavarian pretzel was a pleasant surprise. Opt for the beer cheese with it! It was a little pricey for the amount at $3.50 but the taste made up for it. Beer selection is top notch. Buneaveza is a great light crisp beer. They offer 64oz growlers too for most! Bartender was great. Super friendly.

Yummo! Affordable prices and we loved the outdoor patio seating! I will say the brownie dessert was not nearly as beautiful as pictured in the menu. But overall we were happy with this stop!

Wasn't at all as I was hoping it would be,I'm upset over the fact I couldn't eat my food, definitely wasn't fresh, it's a salad not that hard to make, sadly what was served to me speaks otherwise, they didn't honor the description on the menu filled my salad with green cabbage not okay! best part I thought I ordered garden salad, not realizing that the bugs from garden came along with it, and crab bisque tasted just like tomato soup with crab bits

This place was amazing! Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and even gave us a celebratory dessert for our anniversary! Thank you Capital Ale House!!!

I got the chicken tenders and the large pretzel and it was great! The chicken tenders and fries were crispy and cooked to perfection and the pretzel was warm and delicious. Our server Blanche was phenomenal, loved her! My only suggestion is more cleanliness in the bathroom would be nice but overall I enjoyed my experience here!

First time at this establishment. . . Good food that came out hot and well prepared. LOTS of beer on tap and the staff was friendly and accommodating. Sheridan was our server and she was great ! ! ! She knew how to manage her time between tables and was friendly and social-able. Great place to come back to when/IF we come back to the area.

For day 3, if you don’t mind the extra trek, today covers more off the beaten path places like Bella Luna Wood-Fired Pizza. Not quite as popular as Edith J. Carrier Arboretum, but still highly rated among many travelers. Accounting for getting around and average time spent, today’s activities could take about 7 hours.

Italian restaurant
Bella Luna Wood-Fired Pizza is a charming Italian restaurant housed in a brick-walled setting. It's known for its Neapolitan-inspired thin crust pizzas, cooked to perfection in their traditional wood-fired oven. The ingredients used are sourced from family farms around Central Virginia, ensuring freshness and quality. In addition to pizzas, the restaurant offers fresh pasta, mozzarella, sausages, and artisan breads made daily.
Pizza is something we take for granted. Cold delivery pizza. Salty, soggy pizzas with not enough flavor. Pizza is pizza. Or that's at least what we thought. We came into Bella Luna with moderate expectations as we were recommended to try this place. We've tried a couple good pizza spots here and there, sure they were good and reliable but nothing mind blowing per say. I came here with a group and we shared an appetizer of what I believe was the house green salad? It had fresh vegetables and a tangy mild dressing, even a chalkboard stating where they got all their ingredients. When we went it was quite busy so I cannot speak too much for the overall service but the temperature in there felt, warm? But the food made up for it, we shared the arugula prosciutto and Bella Bianca, the salty crispy prosciutto and the earthy arugula that cut through the punchy prosciutto. Our personal favorite was the Bella Bianca, a rich creamy sauce with roasted notes of garlic and mushrooms. Truly exceptional. Would definitely return and recommend trying a salad and their Bella Bianca pizza!

The pizza was amazing. I usually don't eat crust, but I gobbled theirs. The meatball appetizer was bland, but the pizza more than made up for it. Plenty of seating. Easy to get to & park.

House made pasta, meatballs, and risotto fritters were great, a fun college town vibe, parking is easy across the street, and lots of indoor seating. Wait staff was very kind and attentive.

Bella Luna is a solid place for dinner and drinks. Their wine list and drink menu is pretty broad, although I didn’t partake in that. The food, on the other hand, I did partake in and it was quite delicious. The restaurant is big on organic and handmade and you can taste the difference. The dough is solid, the ingredients are fresh. I got the Brooklyn with soppressata and tiramisu for dessert. I do recommend this spot to anyone in Harrisonburg either at JMU, in the area, or passing through!
Julian S — Google review
Cute and cozy pizza place with charming decors. We got the margarita pizza and the Bianca pizza, both are super delicious, their pizza dough is soft, chewy and charred perfectly by the wood fire!
Wenjia Z — Google review
This is a stop I've made every time I've came up to Virginia and been around Harrisonburg. I've had several of their pizzas, and they've all been fantastic. They've also always had a good selection of beers on draft. Two pizzas, I'd like to recommend is the ring of fire and the arugula with prosciutto.
Matthew — Google review
This pizza was absolutely amazing. SO delicious. The crust was crisp and the sauce was so fresh and flavorful I also really enjoyed the sangria and watching the pizzas getting made in the wood fire grill!
Sheridan H — Google review
The food is okay but good for the area that lacks options. The atmosphere is good. The customer service is lacking, especially if you order take out. I recently placed an order and arrived between 15-20 minutes as recommended. The server asked if I was picking up an order and got my name and then said it’s not ready let me go check on it. She did not return. I waited and listen to the good music until I realized I am about 15 in. I then found someone to assist me and she spoke with someone and then pointed at a cook and said it is coming right out. I waited an additional 15 minutes and spoke with another person that walked by. Sometime later the food came out and the server’s customer service was lacking. The server didn’t care and I understand. It was not busy in the restaurant which was the shocker. I love the Gelato and bakery across the street by the same name. I will pass on the slightly overpriced pizza and pasta next time.

Ruby's Arcade is a family-friendly establishment in downtown Harrisonburg that offers a range of activities in addition to its delectable pizza and BBQ. Clay Clarke, the owner, initially purchased some old bowling lanes to create this unique spot. Alongside their mouthwatering food options, guests can also enjoy playing pool or bowling while indulging in a slice. This lively venue features a bar, pool tables, ping pong tables, and dartboards for added entertainment.
Food is good for the price and the staff is friendly. Would say this is a fun place to play pool. Bowling is a work of progress but not without effort. Seems they're always fixing some lanes but that's normal for bowling lanes. Atmosphere is great here. Would love to come back again. Apparently Tuesday a good day to come.

Sad to see how this place has fallen. We would come every year since they opened with family and friends. This last visit had a $5 entrance fee to enter for unlimited games which adds up with a large group. No signage or comment that there were any issues. Most games were broken or out of order, only one lane of bowling (which broke while we were there), all the items for pool, shuffleboard, darts, etc were in disrepair/taped/unusable. Even the bartender was embarrassed and offered a refund when I made a passing comment on how awesome it was before. Just sad. Won't be back.

First time here. Came for a school function. Had to wait over 30 minutes to even ORDER food because “the kitchen was backed up”. Stood waiting only to be told that I could have ordered 10 minutes ago. Some of the rudest, shittiest service I ever had. Truly an underwhelming first impression.

Delicious food, great ambiance, perfect for all ages. Lots of arcade games , reasonably priced. Could easily spend hours there..duck bowling is great! 👍 Love that they have non alcoholic options !!
Zoe S — Google review
Cost was $5 to play all games, including bowling. But, all the games were not working, the bowling lanes had issues, and some of the pool tables and other games need to be fixed. The food was ok. The pizza lacked a little flavor. The hamburgers were good, but the chips had no consistent seasoning. The price for the food was a little high.

My wife and I have a scratch off date night suggestion set, and tonight we scratched “visit an arcade.” If not for this scratch off we would have never found this gem of a place. The staff were amazingly friendly and extremely willing to explain how the arcade works. The game selection was great and the food we ordered was tasty. I would highly recommend adding this place to your “must do” list.

Enjoy working with everyone at the shop- I like to tour and bikepack, and they’ve helped me get my bikes and now, I’m making adjustments after my last tour around WV, an awesome new wheel set. Looking forward to heading back out this fall. Great to have people who I can talk nuts and bolts with while working out my setups. Thanks!

We went to this bike shop in 2023 and in 2025 during a bike trip and the staff, although they seemed to be busy, kindly offered to help us both times. First time, they fixed our gear adjustment and repaired our puncture on the spot. They even offered to lend us electric bikes, so we could go shopping while they were working on the bike. Second time, they charged our bike at no fee, as we forgot our cable at home and they didn’t have any in stock. Fair price, warm welcome, excellent service great smiles.

They were so helpful and patient, I almost felt bad for taking up so much of their time. Almost. If you're looking for a bike shop that treats you like a rockstar, even if you're a complete novice like me, this is the place. Highly recommend!

Shenandoah bicycle company gave me the best experience and service I’ve ever had renting a mountain bike. Each staff member I interacted with was helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. They took the time to seriously fine tune the setup and suspension to my liking. I’d been up front about considering buying the type of bike I was renting, and they put zero pressure on me to buy from their store. Genuinely got the impression that they just wanted me to have a good time, which I did. Highly recommend

I’ve been having this bike shop care for my bike on several occasions. Every time has been a great experience. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable and their prices are fair. I had a lot of work done recently and my dedicated bike mechanic Madison did an amazing job. He really cares about the customers as well as the bike. I can tell he has a passion for what he does. I’m back riding and everything is smooth and like new. Thank you guys for making my ride that much better! It’s a plus that you can grab an açai bowl at Pulp while you’re there.

This place is super cute and central in Harrisonburg. It has become my new favorite spot to pop into when picking up or dropping off my Duke and my sever today, Abby, was so sweet. It’s the decor, friendly service, and vegan options that make it a favorite place to come back to. Looks like they have a cool nite time vibe too with music and trivia on some nights.

There was an eclectic mix of food. The burger for my kids burger was overcooked so I'm not sure if that's just how they do kids burgers but it was way too Well done. My bibimbap was okay. The staff there was super friendly. Super nice. It's a great place in a college town where I'm sure a lot of people take their parents when they come to visit them.

My friend and I had dinner at Clementine’s by mistake. It was definitely an interesting experience. The interior is wonderfully decorated but unfortunately the food wasn’t as great. The breadth of the menu is really a problem: the “falafel” didn’t taste or look anything like falafel, it really should be marketed as fritters. Drinks are great though.

Starting with the excellent service we received from Jefferson, this was one of best meals of my life! We had the Fried Green Tomatoe (could have used two slices) 10/10, followed by the scallops and duck ramen 10/10, followed by Blueberry Peach Crumble 11/10. This is what a restaurant experience should be. I was visiting and found this place on google….it is not to be missed and I will make this place a part of my travel plans in the future! Well done Clementine!!!

Beautiful building that used to be a garage converted into a restaurant/art gallery, featuring local artists work. They have quite the wide array of dishes in there dinner options; just so happened we came on a night where one of the specials was Fettuccine with lemon & garlic butter sauce (plus vegetables), which was excellent! My parents tried the seafood dishes, one scallops the other salmon, & both enjoyed them. The appetizers & desserts were also delicious; highly recommend going if you’re in the area!

Bella Gelato & Pastries is a charming bakery and gelato shop located near Bella Luna Wood-Fired Pizza. Additionally, they are currently featuring a Valentine's Day special offering a selection of seasonal treats and customer favorites. Visitors can also enjoy an espresso and coffee bar with locally roasted beans.
There are not very many local bakeries that make real, handcrafted, specialty croissants. And then you make your own gelato too??! WOW! I was so impressed with this small cafe/bakery/gelato shop. My wife and I went in the morning and did not get the gelato, but we probably should’ve. We picked a couple of pastries for ourselves, and then were so enticed with their offerings that we decided to buy a couple more for us to eat later - but there was no later for those pastries. Perhaps to our shame, but more to our enjoyment, we confess that yes, we ate all of those pastries shown in the picture. The everything croissant was by far the best, and it blew my mind. It had cream cheese injected into it that was SO good. And I’m not a croissant connoisseur at all, but I (at least somewhat) understand the extensive process to make them, and that it is extremely tedious and difficult. Their croissants had unbelievably flaky crusts, were so puffy and fluffy and buttery on the inside, and the layers you could see on the outside were both astonishing, and mesmerizing. I’m only sad we didn’t get to try more of their extensive offerings!

No review of the food… because we didn’t get it. We were waiting in a long line for ice cream. A person in my party wanted to use the bathroom. We were told no bathroom until we pay for food. Couldn’t believe it so asked again. The girl behind the counter (who previously also alerted us that the espresso machine is shut down 30min before closing) confirmed: you buy first, then you get the bathroom key. Rudest service I’ve ever encountered in 50 years of traveling. Avoid by all means.

The honey scone (pictured)- balance of sweet and savory, I wish I could have it every morning for breakfast! Everything croissant (not pictured)- usually not a fan of croissants but this place perfects them. Between the chives and cream cheese flavor, you can't go wrong in ordering this item, I myself went back for another after my first! Brownies and cookies (only half of each pictured because I split with a friend) - too sugary for my taste and couldn't finish. Took a star off for this although only after much reflection! Atmosphere is cute and prices very reasonable.

Cuban Burger is a casual eatery located at 70 West Water Street, offering a relaxed ambiance and an array of Cuban-American cuisine. The restaurant's decor and atmosphere evoke the spirit of Hemmingway's Havana. Their menu features Americanized versions of classic Cuban street food, including fritas, tapas, Cuban sandwiches, and hand-crafted Cuban cocktails from the full bar.
10/10 would recommend to anyone. Adam was a fantastic server. He was polite, friendly and funny! Not something you get from your every day restaurant. The food was amazing- and took less than 10 minutes to come out! The atmosphere was great as well!
Ashley R — Google review
Saw others write about this being the best burger they ever had, and I can attest to that as well. We happened to be there on a night service was great, but the food took a while to arrive. The Vasquez burger was so tender and delicious. It was outstanding. The rest of the food was also good. Value to portion size ratio is okay: not small but not huge. Overall, very good!
Jason M — Google review
While we've had good experiences with Cuban Burger in the past, this time was different. We received our drinks shortly after coming in and ordered food, which arrived in a normal time. However, after that, we were not checked on in about 30 minutes. We waited and waited and I had to eventually get up and ask for the check. There were two other tables near us with people that got checked on at least last 3 times each and in that time and we were completely ignored when at several points there were many employees just standing around and chatting. I usually tip above 20% but this time they did not earn that. In addition to this the fries I ordered were barely salted and a server never came by so that I could even ask for salt.
Gary W — Google review
First, the good: They had a special side that day of onion rings, and they were excellent. Also the grits were very good. The service was friendly and not bad aside from forgetting a couple of side dishes that we had to ask for twice. The bad: The food is unimpressive. Both the El Cubano Sandwich and the Crispy Pulled Pork sandwich were dry, and the meat-to-bread ratio was lacking (not enough meat on a thick roll). The Salsa Roja served with the pulled pork was okay, but not zesty enough to flavor a dry, bready sandwich. Better as a dipping sauce. Two of the three who ordered burgers said they didn't taste good. My 11-year-old ate all of his, but the other two adults quit after a bite or two. The Maduros (fried sweet plantains) were chewy; I suspect that either they were made with yellow plantains not ripe enough, or green plantains. The shoestring potatoes served with some dishes are both small in quantity and a waste of time in terms of flavor and edibility. No one ate theirs. I tried one and understood why: they don't taste like anything. I guess we were supposed to add them to the sandwich for crunch, but why? There's already enough starch in the meal. The ugly: One of our group asked for her burger well done but received a severely undercooked burger. She sent it back. The chef brought out another burger made "smashed" and assured my friend that it was cooked enough. But the inside was raw, even I could see that. My friend again sent it back. She received a complimentary order of grits instead, which were quite nice. But when she got her check, she had been charged for 50% of a burger in addition to her other items. Naturally she complained and they ended up cancelling her check, but the experience didn't make us want to go back. Neither did the food.

Burger are indeed the way to go. And the vaquero is great (it isn’t as crazy large as it sounds like it would be, so delicious but the right size). The pork sandwiches are ok, I’ve tried Cuban’s all over, never blown away, so these are good , but the burgers are way better. The Chop salad was a full meal, and tasty as well. Service was terrific and friendly. Not a big place, but enough seating for a group of friends.

The restaurant provides a romantic dining experience with masterfully prepared farm-to-table dishes and signature cocktails. If you are in the mood for oriental cooking, this is the place to go in Harrisonburg, Virginia. The food is absolutely fabulous. Amazing food! Fantastic sushi! No matter what I get here, it always knocks my expectations out of the ballpark. The little patio outside is one of my favorite places to dine, chat with friends. The lady that serves me almost every time I'm here is always so friendly and nice.

They call it Beyond because it's Beyond Awesome. Sitting on the Patio is an amazing vibe and you may just see some fish and ducks while you're out there. They have delicious sushi and easily the best wontons I've ever had. Their miso soup is warm and comforting. Can't recommend enough!

We went there this evening, dined in and were very satisfied! Friendly staff and we were greeted by several. We went with Korean dishes (it's what I'm used to) and it was spot on! I wish we lived closer to be able to enjoy them more. We will be back!

Solid Asian food! The service was a little slow the night I came in, but I think it was just the server I ended up with so not going to knock stars off there. The summer special cocktails were delicious (pictured are the Peach Smash and Peach Mojito). We ordered the Pineapple Wontons as an appetizer that was also really good. For entrees, we had the Crispy Orange Chicken and split some sushi rolls (the Danny and the Red River). It was so much food and we couldn't finish it all, and the Danny was perhaps the most dense roll I've ever seen. That's not bad because it was amazing, but it was extremely filling. Very satisfied with the meal here, would absolutely come back when in town.

Beyond Restaurant & Lounge is a Asian Fusion restaurant that consists of Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, and Thai. We ordered each as showing in my pictures, which the Drunken Noodles, Dragon Rolls, and Pho are tasty. The spicy kimchi noodles were salty, and the vermicelli missing fish sauce.

Looking forward to a variety of Asian food? They got it all! Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese and more... Great service, loved the vibe & atmosphere. Waiter was really nice with a smile. Food was perfect and the price just right. Will be back to try more items off the menu. Thanks!

Mexican restaurant
Magnolia's Tacos and Tequila Bar is a laid-back Mexican eatery offering an impressive menu of street eats like tacos, burritos, and other Mexican dishes. The restaurant boasts a modern southwest-style decor with a beautiful rooftop deck. With over 50 different tequila choices, it's a great spot for tequila enthusiasts. The taqueria offers an array of high-quality tacos with over 10 different types to choose from, along with other Mexican delicacies such as nachos.
Everything was flavorful and delicious! I ordered in and the Street Corn was cold but that didn't stop me from-going in on it like a starving beaver!!! Glad noone was watching haha. The Wings and the sauce were perfection to me! They weren't dry at all! Fully cooked and still juicy with amazing flavor and that sauce was just the right touch!! The tacos were all distinct flavors (watch your shirt w both Al Pastor & Chorizo) and the Masa Crusted Shrimp just the right amount of tender on the inside and a lil crunch on the out. Mynew go to spot!

Excellent food options and flavors. There was no shortage of drink choices, too. It was all wonderful. The beautiful and cozy ambiance was the nice finishing touch to a great, anniversary dinner.

This place was AMAZING, EVERYTHING ABOUT IT! My girls and I were in town for the day and were looking for a place to eat, they did not disappoint. The employees were friendly. The seating was GREAT. The prices were good, and the food was AMAZING!

Cute little taco and tequila spot. Outdoor seating, rooftop seating, and indoors with air conditioning. Decent tacos for the East Coast, shrimp were good, carne asada tacos were tasty. Nothing blew us away, but it was all good. Chips were $3, the guacamole was the creamy kind, no chunks, but it was good with a hint of a kick. Staff was all friendly. They get pretty busy pretty quickly, so plan ahead.

Go here! And pray to God you get Samantha as your server. She is everything you’d want and more in a restaurant professional. We were in from out of town and one of us, who shall remain nameless, ordered American tacos 👎🏼. She politely, and with knowledge, asked if he was certain that’s what he wanted to order 🤔🙄😬. His order was quickly replaced with something much more authentic and delicious. She read the group of us perfectly and provided him with a great choice of meal. All of our food was great, the atmosphere was perfect and the service was spot on. Go here!
Todd S — Google review
The food was okay, nothing spectacular but freshly prepared and good sized. However my burrito was only hot on the outside and it was served in tinfoil and a paper basket and with plastic utensils. I guess they are going for streetfood vibes, which is fine but was unexpected and not really what i enjoy. Our server was nice, but it generally took some time to get their attention. Overall an okay experience, but I don‘t feel the immediate urge to repeat that.

Food was good drinks were as well. Small dining area upstairs. Steep steps to get to the seating area. Unless you sit at the bar which is downstairs when you walk inside the establishment. Not wheelchair accessible at all in any way. And if you cant climb the steep stairs I don't recommend the bars small to eat at but that's my opinion. You can decide. It was good food service and drinks. Not so accessible.

Thursdays just aren’t the same at Magnolias anymore. I used to go every Thursday after work because the atmosphere was phenomenal. Calloway was truly one of the best bartenders — his margaritas were always perfect, and he was always so attentive, making sure everyone felt welcome. Losing him was a terrible move on management’s part. The vibe and energy left with him, and it hasn’t been the same since. Unfortunately, I had to find a new spot, because what made Magnolias special is gone. What would have been a 5 stars is now considered a 1.

The restaurant is committed to sustainability by using recyclable materials, conserving water, composting food waste, and donating a portion of profits to local charities.
Absolutely my favorite little restaurant for breakfast and lunch in Harrisonburg, VA. A long history of great food and friendly, efficient service. What more can you ask for? Inside is so quaint and cozy. This is a “Don’t Miss” for your list. Because it’s so good, you may need to wait a little, but all worth the wait. So the saying goes…”When you’re good, you’re in demand”. Not only is this review coming from me personally, but I’m also listening to the guests around me saying the same. Awesome job!

The place was very busy but we still got a table and it was soooo worth it. My coffee and pancakes were really good. His strawberry rhubarb special pancake was amazing. The only thing better was my sausage patty and his biscuits and sausage gravy. Highly recommend and will be back soon!

I love this place. The interior is so cute, and everything about it feels organic and homey! The corned beef hash was delicious, but my favorite thing here is the breakfast grinder with the mushrooms! The cinnamon pancake was good- distinctly creamy-cheesy, but it was yummy. Definitley check out their website, the place is pretty small and there will be a wait on weekends, which you can get in line for online (super convenient!)

The Little Grill is A-MAZING!!!! Such a cute little place with a charming eclectic decor. Service was superb and the food…. O M G!! My husband had the huevos rancheros which he said was delicious! I had The Dooley which is eggs, biscuits and a potato cake smothered in “groovy gravy”. The biscuits were some of the best I have ever had and the gravy was out of this world - groovy indeed!!!!! I want to take a vat of it back to Ohio with me!!! 🩷

What a breakfast! I got blue monkey pancakes with double blueberries and no bananas. The pancakes were hot to the last bite and absolutely delicious. I also had a side of the thick cut bacon. Cooked to perfection, just the right amount of crispy and soft. Others in my party had the Focaccia Yeah! and loved it and another had the Potato Boat and it was really good. If you’re in Harrisonburg, VA and need some breakfast, this is a great place to find it.

What a cute little place! We were visiting for the weekend and the hotel suggested this spot. My boys got a kick out of the special heart shaped pancakes and fun designs in their hot chocolate. If we find ourselves in that area again we'll definitely return <3

The cinnamon roll pancakes are simply the best pancakes I’ve ever had. The sandwich was also good, but man that pancake was something else!

New favorite breakfast spot. This place has it all. Great coffee, great meal, and even something the kids really enjoyed. I usually can find places where I like the food but the coffee is just OK. Or places where the adult meal was great but kids had few choices. This place was complete in that it was great in all areas. I had the potato boat, while my wife had the biscuit sandwich. My kids both enjoyed the cinammon role pancakes. The bacon was perfectly cooked as well.

Brothers Craft Brewing is a local gem housed in a historic bottling plant, transformed into a trendy brewery with a rustic-chic taproom and an inviting beer garden. The brewery offers around a dozen beers brewed on-site, along with other drink options, making it an inclusive destination for all. Visitors can enjoy regular food trucks and events, adding to the vibrant atmosphere.
Great atmosphere, amazing brewers ans bartenders, live music, food trucks nearby and snacks inside, large projectors for football games and many other things, board games, amazing drinks, and many more. It's one of the best places in Harrisonburg for sure. A MUST visit.

It's a bit of a walk if you do not have a car (or don't want to drive) but IMHO it is still worth the effort. Lovely selection of tasty beers, neat (and pretty spacious) location, friendly staff and patrons. Was glad I was able to visit at least once; I would definitely come back if I had the chance. P.S.: I think they also serve food but tbh cannot say for sure as I did not check when I was there.

Newish to Hburg and *by far* this is the best beer around. You can get pizza delivered or a doordash whatever for a meal or just enjoy a chill vibe with clean bathrooms and great bartenders. Highly recommended 10/10
Megan E — Google review
Love their beer! My daughter gave me a subscription to a beer of the month club, and though some beers have been "meh," this brewers collection is somewhat special. I'm sitting here drinking the Wind Milled, a wheat ale with apricots, and it's outstanding. This has created two problems for me; first, their beer isn't carried by any beer store in my area, and second, they are 257 miles from my house. I guess a road trip is in store for me.
Jack B — Google review
Amazing brewery. This place is a "must visit" if in Harrisonburg, VA. Staff was amazing and the beers were fantastic. There were so many beers to choose from. I think their dark beers were the highlight for me. Only light snacks available (chips / popcorn / etc...) for eating. I think best to come after eating or have a plan. Manybof the dark beers were quite high on the ABV... just how I like em. Again, a great place to visit and relax. I will definitely be back.
Darren D — Google review
Cool place. The bartender was super friendly and helpful, and the place smelled like a brewery. They must of been brewing an IPA, because hops were in the air. It's stout season for me, so I was really happy to see their Russian Imperial Stout on tap. It was tasty and chewy. Just what the doctor ordered. If your looking for a good beer and friendly vibe, Brothers will not disappoint.
Joe R — Google review
Absolutely best tap list of draft, bottle and to-go dark beers I've ever seen in a single brewery. So good I sent my buddies a list solely to make them jealous. They had plenty of other types of brews (not all shown in my photos). I didnt try but I'm sure they were equally good. If you're a dark beer aficionado you cannot pass this place up. I also liked the fact that their Imperials were full of flavor, but not that overpowering "let's throw the entire sink in there" that other brweries can fall victim to. Each beer was fullbodied with distinct flavor. I think the Russian Imperial Stout aged in bourbon, and then aged in tequila barrels, was my favorite. I was just passing through, saw the tap menu and had to make a detour. Even if you're driving anywhere nearby it's worth a side trip.

Solid Craft Brewery! Am I the only one who noticed that most of these “breweries” that have one or two mediocre offerings don’t really know what they are doing? Not so BCB! As you enter, the incredible aroma of spent grains waft into your senses, reminding you that everything is right in the world, at least for as long as you are here. We started with a flight- The 10 Years Strong Ale is wonderful - it’s tricky to do it right, but it’s definitely the best thing we tasted. The Gingerbread Stout is off the chain amazing!! The Eggnog Stout was not my favorite, but I am guessing it’s because I don’t love nutmeg and my guess is there’s a lot of nutmeg? (some spice I don’t care for) in there. The Multiplayer DIPA is definitely a star. (Just FYI, I like angry-ish hops, cascade, chinook, citra, not fru-fru IPAs that aren’t really anything of the kind and should really just be called ales) You should definitely try this place and spend a few hours so you can savor the Strong Ale, which is what I plan to continue doing. After living in Denver and Asheville, it’s been tough to find much in the way of impressive offerings in DC. Thank you Craft Brothers Brewing for being real, not a disappointment, and being an amazing respite from the chaos of the city. When will you be making a Barleywine, please? 😊

Restaurant
Magpie Diner is a trendy eatery located in a converted 1950s tire service station, offering a mix of classic diner dishes and lighter fare. The menu changes frequently to showcase seasonal ingredients, with options like Southern Poutine and fresh salads. The adjoining bakery counter tempts diners with delectable pastries. This popular brunch spot boasts a spacious outdoor patio equipped with heaters for chilly days, making it an ideal destination for weekend brunch or daily breakfast and lunch.
Delish! The atmosphere is welcoming and so are the staff. The waffles are always delicious and I love the key lime waffle they had in the fall! Matcha lattes are amazing and I like the rotation of flavors. Generally busy so expect around a 30 minute wait. Overall so cute I would definitely recommend!

We had a fabulous experience at this awesome local spot. We waited about 15 minutes on a Saturday morning for brunch. It was worth the wait! The food was excellent, the service was awesome, and they were super kid-friendly- there were lots of babies in there, including ours! Can’t wait to come back.
Sydney M — Google review
Stopped in on the way to DC on a Thursday morning. We were able to be seated right after we walked in which was wonderful. Service was fine, it is just difficult to hear clearly since seating is a little jammed (at least on the side closest to the bakery which is where we were.) I would give the lattes a 10/10. My breakfast sandwich bread was dry and there wasn’t much sauce to balance that out so I was disappointed in my selection . My husband enjoyed his bowl though. If I were to go back, I would order something more traditional like the french toast or waffles or just order from the bakery- the almond croissant was to die for!!

When you’re on a long motorcycle trip that takes you through Harrisonburg, you read reviews and choose where to eat based on those reviews. Magpie topped our list and we are so happy we stopped for lunch! The atmosphere is bright and welcoming and the food was delicious! I had the Magpie Granola with yogurt, fruit, honey & chi seeds, and I wish I could’ve finished my meal, but they just give you so much! Also wish they sold the granola, it was probably the best I’ve ever eaten. My ride mates had the roast beef sandwich, sausage & gravy, and the ham & cheese sandwich, and everyone was very pleased with their meals. Our server was friendly and attentive, a senior at JMU studying Health Sciences (I didn’t catch her name), which is also what my daughter studied there, so it was fun talking to her about that similarity. All in all a wonderful experience, and we’ll definitely stop in again if we’re in the area.

I got the Turkish Eggs and it was truly one of the best breakfasts I’ve ever eaten in my life. The feta yogurt was super creamy and tangy and the eggs were cooked perfectly. I am not from the area but would try one of everything off the menu if I was local!

Brunch Bliss in Harrisonburg! We were in Harrisonburg, VA for my son’s AAU basketball tournament and decided to refuel at Magpie’s for brunch… and wow, we might have found our new must-stop spot! We grabbed a table outside, and the vibe was just right …sunny skies, fresh air, and the kind of relaxed energy that makes you want to stay all afternoon. The staff treated us like old friends, the menu read like a love letter to brunch, and every bite lived up to the hype. From the first sip of coffee to the last forkful, everything was delicious and fresh. My family loved it so much we joked about signing the kids up for more tournaments in Harrisonburg just for another excuse to come back. If you’re anywhere near Harrisonburg, skip the chain spots and head straight to Magpie’s. This place is a slam dunk! 🏀🥞

Harrisonburg was the midway point on a long trip, and we needed to get coffee and pastries on our way out of town. The Magpie looked like a great option. The bakery had an amazing assortment of goodies, and we really loved the za'atar and gruyere, the ham and gruyere croissant, and the sweet cherry danish. Also got a chocolate chip cookie that I ate two days later which was still crazy good. Great selection, great food, friendly service. Wish we could have stayed to dine in as the main diner looked fantastic. Can't recommend this place highly enough!

This is a busy place but it's so good. Love the food and vibe. We ordered the roast beef tartine and it was great. It was on the salty side though. We also ordered the egg and cheese biscuit and it was delicious. The short-stack pancakes were tasty. I will always come back. The pastry from the neighboring bakery is amazing. We came back so many times and this place is absolutely amazing if you can withstand wait times walking around the area or indulge in a tasteful eye pleasing shopping experience at the neighboring mercantile shop.

Nestled in the heart of Harrisonburg, Mashita is a delightful Korean-inspired eatery that brings a unique twist to traditional flavors. Helmed by chef Mikey Reisenberg, who has a personal connection to Korean cuisine through his own adoption story, this establishment offers an array of familiar dishes like bibimbap and japchae alongside inventive fusion options such as sesame-soy brisket sandwiches and kimchi-topped fries.
Went because we heard good things from JMU alum and it’s a good stopping distance between DC and New River Gorge. So glad we did! Friendly service, fantastic food, and a fun local vibe. Andrea served us and guided us through the menu - what range! Best bao we’ve had in awhile- choice of 3 so try the marinated tofu. Perfect asparagus and roasted duck. Cool cheesesteak. Get the fries with it because all 3 dipping sauces are worth slurping. Now I’m looking for excuses to get back to Harrisonburg, VA.

Great restaurant for lunch or dinner. Family friendly with the complimentary video games for kids. Food is fresh and flavorful. Sauces are really good. Have not had anything I didn’t like. Can get busy with a long wait when college is in town. They offer a food truck that is just as good. I like all the sandwiches, chicken or brisket. Burger is good. Steamed buns with any meat are all worthy. Side salad is fresh and homemade dressing is great. Not intimidating for being Korean food. I don’t like kimchi but that is not restaurant fault. Sweet and spicy sauce served table side is my favorite on everything. Indoor and outdoor seating. Great spot for Harrisonburg
MATTHEW S — Google review
Good food. (Tried a sample at the farmer's mkt). The pork in the dumplings had great flavor. Food was filling without making you feel like you overrated. Lots of outdoor covered seating.
Alma H — Google review
Lackluster. Food sucked. Service sucked. We tried the beef bulgogi, mushroom, and tofu buns. The beef and mushroom ones were far too salty. The tofu one tasted unseasoned. The $13 "kimchi" fries with stale cheese and kimchi that tasted like sandwich pickles was genuinely the first thing I've ever been incapable of eating at a restaurant. I'm a certified big back and that meal was a punishment. We tasted about 4-6 fries before deciding we could not consume it. It took multiple tries to flag down our server who then proceeded to roll her eyes at us when we very kindly brought it to her attention. Ruined my day. Y'all suck.
Kira K — Google review
Mashita is a great place to go for lunch if you're craving Korean! I've been to one too many places that make their Jjapchae too sweet or too gummy. Here, it's just right. The ramp kimchi and bibimbap was excellent, too. The kimchi has a perfect balance of hot and sour, and makes a great accompaniment to anything on the table. Highly recommend!

got the bibimbap and a beer. Food was fresh and tasty. Solid Korean spot. Parking is free in the lot across the street after 5pm.
A P — Google review
Excellent Korean food, and great service! First time here but this is going to become a favorite whenever we are back in this town. Their pork belly is the best I've ever had. So delicious and it melts in your mouth. Normally pork belly can obviously feel heavy and after eating couple of pieces you might feel you are done, but not here! The way they cook it takes out some of that heaviness and the after taste that pork belly can have. We order it as one of the proteins you can have in many of the dishes they offer. Highly recommended. We also got Mandu Dumplings as appetizer, the Sampler Buns dish with braised pork and, well, pork belly, the Ssam combo with beef bulgogi (awesome flavor as well), and two Mashita Bibimbap, another recommended dish with plenty of fresh veggies, one with braised pork the other with chicken bulgogi. I'd like to come back and keep trying other dishes. One thing I noticed is their spicy sauces are not very spicy, but I'm sure if I would've asked for Korean spicy they probably have a "secret" more powerful sauce. For dessert, try the Orange Crème Brûlée. It's quite spectacular! The fresh orange pieces, caramelized orange and orange peel on top gave it a great touch without overpowering the flavor. Well done Mashita, "it's delicious" as your name indicates!
Sergio H — Google review
I always make it a point to have one meal here when I'm in town. Even if I'm only back for a day! The food is always phenomenal! I've had Mashita since they started out as a food truck. I have loved their evolution into a brick & mortar location along with a more extensive menu. Every visit makes me want to keep me coming back! I think I've pretty much tried everything they've served on the main menu. I wish I was home more often to try all of the specials. I have my favorites like the buns, but I also like to order another entrée to round out the whole experience. Tonight, my main dish was the duck ramen. It was magical! All of the flavors complemented each other perfectly! There's always the right amount of protein vs. broth or sauce. Every dish is always at temp, too. This is huge to me! I've had date nights here, met friends, introduced other visitors, etc. Without fail, Mikey always impresses us with his knowledge and expertise. This is a Harrisonburg staple for me. I can't wait to see what the chef's got up his sleeve next!

Loved that they had regular cocktails as well as good beer. The pizza was absolutely delicious! Great vibes and dog friendly!

Maybe the largest craft beer operation in town (my subjective feeling). All very nice and professional, with a good selection of beers and food. Nothing to complain about, just felt a little less cozy and familiar than the other craft beer taprooms, but that may have been a coincidental impression. I ended up visiting three times, so it must still have been quite alright ;) Great to sit outside on their porch when it's a warm day.

Pale Fire was amazing! We just happened to check this place out on our summer vacation and man it was worth it. Great local beers and ciders. The pretzel cheese was to die for and the pizza is Detroit style but is light and airy and not heavy at all. 10/10 will come again!

Nice indy brewery with a great atmosphere. Detroit style Hawaiian pizza was *chef’s kiss The brew offerings were a bit lower in the ABV, if that is important to you. I enjoyed Negative Boogie - nice mosaic IPA, and an Iron King - chocolaty stout, and both were winners. Staff is super nice and super fast. Make sure you give this place a visit

The beer selection is pretty good. The food is great. They got my order wrong, so that was kind of a disappointment. The atmosphere is nice. When the weather is nice, the patio area is great. There is a big parking lot across the street, so that’s nice. I’d go there again, but just double check your beverage when they bring it to you.

Stopped in Harrisonburg while traveling and did what I usually do, looked for a local brewery. I rarely leave reviews unless a place I’ve visited was exceptional in more ways than one and has really left a mark. And wow, Heritage Bakery & Cafe is easily one of those places! I’ve been in four times since discovering this place and the ladies behind the counters haven’t yet missed a beat in delivering bright and cheerful smiles along with friendly service. The food have been fresh. Their Belgian Waffle was the best I’ve ever had, light and airy, topped with fresh berries. Their greens were crunchy and crisply sweet. Their cheesecakes were just the right amount of sweet. But the one thing that really first made its mark on my initial visit was that they use unbleached paper tea bags (in which it seemed they use a custom, hand blend of teas), I hope you guys never stop doing that! As for the atmosphere, they bring back the traditional, New Englander tea and china wares, along with their heritage style dining chairs and tables to top it off with! How cute and quaint is that. This cafe is a must visit for anyone who values top-notch service and fresh foods and bakery items.

I love this place! It’s literally my favorite place to get a simple hot turkey and cheese and is truly comfort food. The staff is incredibly friendly. The place is very inviting it kind of reminds you of Bridgerton if you have ever seen that. Great place to have some tea and scone. Everything about this place is a gem. The food the owner, the location. Top notch.

Always a great lunch or late breakfast here! The gluten free waffle is one of my favorites. There is usually a gluten free muffin available as well. Friendly, quick service and lots of places to sit especially outside when the weather is nice.

Absolutely LOVE! This has become our favorite place to Stop When on roadtrips! Food is fantastic and all the baked goods are phenomenal!! We drive way out to the way to come here!! Lovely Staff and atmosphere as well! Be sure to go earlier in the day as they are very popular and sell out quickly!

This place is a literal haven. We’ve never had a bad experience here. The people are so friendly and the atmosphere is just perfect. The food is really good and usually comes out pretty quick. It’s not a huge menu but it’s easy to find something you’ll like, made with quality ingredients. You can tell they’ve curated a menu and bakery selection with a specific intention/vision and it’s all done with a lot of love. You won’t find a bad vibe here unless you bring one with you. It’s connected to the visitor’s center where there’s really well kept bathrooms and interesting little information kiosks. The cafe definitely gets busy but it’s tucked away in such a way that you can usually get in even if everywhere else is packed. It’s a smallish space, but it’s double the size if it’s nice enough to sit outside, and honestly it’s amazing how well they serve everybody from the small kitchen. The tropical tea will bring you back from the dead. Simply put, this place is phenomenal and the people running it are actual magic.

I ordered a cake for my partner's birthday and it is amazing! I got chocolate buttercream and a confetti cake. My partner loves it! I definitely will be ordering again. The density and moisture of the cake is perfect. The buttercream isn't overwhelmingly sweet amd the chocolate flavor is really impactful with the confetti cake. Extremely good quality. I was not able to eat it right away because my partner had to house sit and it kept perfectly well for two days before we ate it. The service was also amazing! The staff were so nice and the atmosphere of the bakery was so welcoming that I have already started planning return trips! Thank you everyone who helped make my partner's birthday wonderful!!

Growing up, we would always handmake our birthday cakes because, despite the amateur look, the cracks, and the sloppy icing, you got the most wonderful flavors. With heritage I got the flavors of a homemade dessert but with an aesthetic both beautiful and homey executed in a way that I never could (as an amateur baker myself). I am not a cake person, but I can say that I absolutely loved their cake. The smooth ganache, the moist rich cake, the vanilla custard, and the bursts of fresh fruit. It was my favorite boston creme donut in cake form. Thank you so much for the creative, delicious dessert of my dreams. We are already making plans to come back for our 1 -year and re-ordering a mini boston creme cake. (Note the donuts are from the venue - I dont know if Heritage offers donut)

Indian restaurant
Located in Harrisonburg, the Indian-American Cafe is a cozy and cash-only eatery offering classic Indian dishes at various spice levels. The restaurant has been described as a mom-and-pop shop with amazing food full of flavors. Customers have praised the tikka masala for its perfect level of spiciness and the samosas for their tasty and well-spiced filling.
This was my first time back in years and even though the original owners retired, I enjoyed the food and the experience under new ownership. My favorites were always the vegetable samosa and chicken saag and I was pleased that they tasted just as good as I remember. The tomato chutney was kickin! I also had the veggie momos which were good but next time I'd get the meat momos instead. The gulab jamun for dessert was excellent. Service was attentive and prices were reasonable. It's a cozy restaurant with lovely decor. Recommended.

If you’re craving authentic Indian flavors, this place is a must-visit! From the moment we walked in, the hospitality was warm and welcoming you can tell they truly care about every guest. The food was absolutely delicious, with rich spices, perfect seasoning, and generous portions. Every dish from the creamy butter paneer to the fluffy garlic naan tasted like home-cooked comfort. Clean environment, fast service, and a staff that goes above and beyond. Highly recommended for both quality and experience!

We went for dinner and the food was pathetic. Tasteless food with colors added to it in excess quantity. Tandoori roti was not at all a Roti that was even close to Tandoor. Daal was plain without taste. The food was very bad for health, we ate some and didn't even to go the rest. The redness you see in the Paneer Tikka and Chicken tikka is all color. Even after washing our hands we could see colors on our finger. Please do not put your or your family's health at stake.

The best restaurant in the City of Harrisonburg! Everything is so thoughtfully prepared and made with a well-balance of spice and fresh ingredients. The salads are wonderfully fresh. The appetizers come out quick, nicely portioned and very tasty, especially the chicken chilly. All of the entrees we have tried are fantastic. My favorite is actually the vegetable chow mein! It’s better than any Chinese version. And the desserts are a perfect way to end the experience, not too rich or heavy at all. Price is right and the portions are generous. 5-courses per person comes out around $30. Just a delightful dinner every time.

Bed & breakfast
Nestled in the heart of historic downtown Harrisonburg, the Joshua Wilton House is a stately Victorian-era inn and fine dining destination. Housed in an elegantly restored Queen Anne Victorian, this bed & breakfast offers a romantic and upscale experience. The on-site restaurant, led by Executive Chef Tom French, showcases a seasonal menu featuring locally sourced ingredients from the Shenandoah Valley. Guests can enjoy signature cocktails and an award-winning wine list at the full-service bar.
This felt more like coming home than it did 3 nights out of town. It was very peaceful and comfortable. I have food allergies that they were willing to accommodate and that was nice. We ended up staying an extra night. It is super clean and beautifully restored. We did not eat meals beyond breakfast because we chose to eat at a few local restaurants instead. The area is beautiful. We stayed here because our granddaughter had a regional track meet at James Madison University. Staying here was a far better choice than staying at the local Holiday Inn that was over $400.00 a night which we felt was extreme. We made the right choice to stay here. I would definitely stay here again without a doubt. I highly recommend this option.

My husband and I have come here for several years for dinner to celebrate special occasions and have always been wowed with the quality of the food, cocktails, and service! We have enjoyed it so much that we have given our parents gift cards here for Christmas and they also have been very happy with the experience. Tonight we had a great experience as always, and Colin was an amazing server- 10/10! Our soon-to-be teenage daughter has asked that we bring her here for her upcoming birthday as well, since she has heard how highly we regard our dining experiences here. Would absolutely recommend!

We celebrated our anniversary recently and it was amazing! We got such a great table and the ambience of the room just made it such a romantic dinner. The servers were all so attentive and helpful! The food was amazing. I ordered the clam chowder that was a special at the time and the filet mignon. Everything was delicious and beautifully plated! Definitely get the crème brûlée for dessert!

We had an incredible evening at the Joshua Wilson House in Harrisonburg. We started with dinner and drinks, and the bartender was outstanding—a true mixologist who crafted cocktails with skill and creativity. The service throughout the night was exceptional, with every detail thoughtfully handled. The food was phenomenal—beautifully cooked, with bold flavors that paired perfectly. After dinner, we were given a tour of the historic house, which was such a treat. I’d love to come back and stay overnight sometime!

There are not enough wonderfully positive superlatives to describe our recent experience with the Josh Wilton House. So let's start from the beginning. Our daughter's wedding was in early October 2025 and several months prior we reached out the Josh Wilton team to start planning. The staff was great to work with; listened well to what we wanted, offered great ideas and were available to consult with throughout the planning process. We loved the location of the Josh Wilton house, the very cool interior and the rooms we were able to gather in for the wedding reception. The set up of the rooms was perfect, food impeccably prepared and served. All of the staff were so great to work with; friendly, helpful courteous. We highly recommend the Josh Wilton House for your special occasion.

Had dinner here for our anniversary. Our server, Stefani, was absolutely delightful, and she, with the rest of the team, provided outstanding service, very friendly and personable. Our food was plated beautifully, and tasted even better than it presented. My wife started with fried green tomatoes served with shrimp and a tasty remoulade, and her main course consisted of 6 of the best scallops my wife said she had ever tasted, prepared to perfection. I started with Wagyu meatballs in an excellent arrabiata sauce, followed by one of the tenderest and most flavorful filet mignons ever. Highly recommended for the historic surroundings , top notch service, and excellent meals.

Took my 18 year old son here for dinner and the Jay Webb concert. The staff which included several people from the waitress, bartenders, bouncers, and Security, were very friendly and professional! The place was clean and spacious. The food was "Amazing!" The price for the meals and drinks very reasonable. Over all I recommend this place to my friends and family.

We went on a Sunday afternoon for dinner and it was pretty empty upon our arrival. We were seated quickly and got drinks and an appetizer soon after. The wings were amazing, came out super hot and tasted amazing (we had Buffalo). We also got the loaded fries because we didn’t think the burgers came with fries- we were wrong. The loaded fries were really good and served with ketchup and sour cream, both were great. The smash burgers were good and the price was amazing too, burgers did come with a good portion of fries and all together was a good sized meal. Would recommend eating here, paid about $40 for two people with appetizers and drinks. Great price and atmosphere, would come back for the food too!

Met some friends here for brunch. Little limited menu, but had a number of things to choose from. Definitely a collage bar, really got that feel. Not sure, but it seemed that they have a lot of live music and comedy here. Open pretty late as well. Looks like they take their name from a great movie The Outsiders, since they had a bit of art based on it. Although, they didn't have any of who said, "Stay Gold, Ponyboy, Stay Gold" They had some video games and a cool Wizard of Oz, one that was a limited 97 of only 1000. Pretty big open space, with some outdoor patio in the back. Food was good, pretty good sized portions, especially the BLTs. Service was a litte touch and go. They had a little duet playing some light jazz for brunch. There is a bar in the back as well. I can see this place being pretty packed on a Friday/Saturday night.

Awesome place to catch some live music, grab some drinks, and get some decent food. There is something for everybody on the menu. The upstairs area offers a bar and restaurant seating. The downstairs area is a lounge and bar. Performers and style varies by the night. There’s also a lot of cool murals on the walls.

Really cool venue with great prices. Pizzas and drafts are half off downstairs from 7-9 so you can end up paying $8 for a pizza and a beer. The pizza was delicious as well. They have vegan options as well that comes with a tofu cheese which was intriguing to me. As far as music goes, the atmosphere was awesome. However, it can be tough to see the artist on stage from further back but you can definitely still hear just fine.

I shop here all the time for my groceries. As a college student, they aren’t the best financial option, but I value my health and I like their gluten free selections. I brought my parents here to show them the selections. I’m 20 for reference and I cannot drink due to a medical condition. I was with my father, mother and grandmother. My father, who is a 54 year old adult, wanted to buy wine. The cashier asked to see all of our ID’s. When we explained to her that I’m 20, she refused to sell it to my father. I didn’t feel like explaining my medical condition, as it is personal and likely would have made no difference. I get that perhaps it’s their policy, but quite frankly it is ridiculous. What happens is a parent is shopping with their young child? Additionally, Harrisonburg is a college town, meaning parents are going to come visit their children and likely accompany them to go grocery shopping. And, not for nothing but, I am a JMU student. If I wanted to get alcohol, I could do that. And my dad isn’t buying a 50 dollar wine for me 😂. All in all, it was a disappointing and patronizing experience. I hope they take this constructive criticism and revise their policies.

We went here for dinner on a whim and had the best meal!! The service was great and speedy, especially for a Friday night. I had the meatloaf and the Mac and cheese that came with it was full of creamy flavor and the green beans were a delightful pairing. My date had the shrimp and grits and it was a hearty portion and the shrimp was delicious. We finished dinner with the brownie and vanilla icecream, paired with chocolate sauce, caramel, and raspberry sauce topped with pecans. Such a great experience and would go again!

The people at the restaurant were very friendly. It was a nice atmosphere with lots of natural light. They have a patio out front as well. Plenty of parking nearby. The food was a little touch and go. Fried green tomato - good crust on the outside. Nice sauce, but maybe a dollop of goat cheese on the plate would be a nice addition in case you want more tang. The meatloaf with mashed potatoes was very good! The mac and cheese could be slightly creamier with more cheese. The steak was cooked to medium-rare, just how i like it, but it was lukewarm, as if it had sat for a little too long. My sister got the shrimp and grits. Being from NC, we've had a fair number of this dish. The grits were not smooth and velvety, but grainy and toothsome. The sausage "croutons" were way too hard (borderline burnt) and very overpowering. The manager did comp it, so not mad about it. Now.... for the dessert, we shared the sticky toffee cake with caramel and vanilla icecream. This dessert definitely redeemed things a bit.

Don’t buy the “tomahawk” steak. Fairly long review ahead. My family and I decided we wanted to go to a nice restaurant before we left the area (the website alleges that it is a “fine dining casual” restaurant) and so we settled on Rocktown Kitchen. We arrived right when the dinner service began so we didn’t have to wait to be seated, which was nice. We all ordered some of their signature cocktails (pictured is “Persephone’s Bite” i believe it’s called) and I think we could all agree that the cocktails were great, very creative and tasty. Now, everyone seemed to be going well, our appetizers came out shortly after ordering, and that was delicious as well (fried green tomatoes and fried oysters) although definitely a smaller serving than we anticipated. The server was kind and attentive, and he sold us on two of the specials, the baby back ribs, and the “tomahawk” steak. Now… I use parentheses in this context because the steak we were presented with was hardly a tomahawk steak. The steak was supposed to be medium, it clearly was not, and it wasn’t even particularly hot when it arrived at our table. Now.. hindsight is 20/20, we probably should have sent the “tomahawk” steak back, but we had been waiting a while at this point and were quite hungry so we just ate our “tomahawk” steak. This steak was $135, does that steak look like it’s worth that much to you? We were sorely disappointed with both the cut of meat the served us, and the presentation (which we were told was going to be special, when it reality it was just the chef coming out and setting it down and leaving promptly), and we were told that it was a 32oz “tomahawk” steak. Clearly the restaurant served us a different cut of beef and gave us a bone for presentation, and so we complained to our server, who told us he would take it off the bill and give us a complimentary dessert. However when the check came the steak was still on the bill, and all we got for being swindled was a brownie with ice cream. If you’ve made it to the end of this review, learn from us, don’t get scammed.

Nestled in the heart of downtown Harrisonburg, Rocktown Kitchen is a gem that truly stands out. The moment you step in, you're greeted by an organized and calm atmosphere that sets the tone for a delightful dining experience. A reservation is recommended to ensure you get a spot in this popular eatery. The food here is simply exceptional—easily a 10/10. Every dish boasts fresh ingredients and perfect portions, making it worth every penny. As a picky eater, I was genuinely impressed. I even found myself enjoying the green beans, a vegetable I usually avoid! The service is top-notch, with attentive staff who consistently check on you to ensure your meal is perfect. I highly recommend trying the Meatloaf, and the Grilled Chicken and Risotto. You can't go wrong with these dishes; they are truly delicious. Whether for a special occasion or a casual meal, Rocktown Kitchen is an excellent choice. Give this restaurant a try—you won't be disappointed.

Farmers Markets
The Harrisonburg Farmers Market has been a staple in the community since the 1950s, offering a wide array of local and seasonal produce, artisanal bread, free-range meat products, and rare cheese finds. What started with a local organic farmer selling his produce in a police station's parking lot has now evolved into a beloved market that brings together farmers, artisans, and vendors to connect with the local community.
One of our favorite farmer’s markets in VA, great variety of fresh produce, sweets, flowers, honey, baked goods and snacks.

Will not be buying from Ryan’s Fruit vendor! I’m surprised Harrisonburg Farmers Market allows “farmer” venders such as Ryan’s Fruit. Knowing their strict rules on who’s allowed to sell there, I’m genuinely surprised. I bought peaches from Ryan’s Fruit and they were either previously frozen or had a sign of long refrigeration. The flesh had a particular texture of long refrigeration or freezing with brown dark floppy flesh around the pit! They tasted disgusting! I have also seen boxes of packed fruits under their tables, and those are the identical boxes to the ones you get from local Shenandoah Valley Produce Auction. He is clearly reselling fruit, and charging premium prices for fruit that were refrigerated or nearly frozen for awhile. And that’s considered okay?? I thought HFM only allowed farmer vendors who grow their own produce! What am I missing here?

This is hands down one of the best farmers markets I have ever been to. It’s pretty small, but I think that’s part of what makes it great. They have a little bit of everything and its not so overwhelming that you would overlook things. If you stop in, definitely try The Loving Crab. Their crabcake sandwiches are amazing, so much so that I had to mention them. Everything is super fresh and relatively inexpensive for the value of it.

Cute and convenient. Great that it is under a pavilion as it was raining during my visit. Available shops were friendly and had good locally grown/made options for items from food, breads, meats, veggies to honey, soaps, and skin care. Fairly priced for local goods, it is better to support our local community, glad I was able to do so here.

Performing arts theater
The Forbes Center for the Performing Arts is a vibrant arts complex located on the campus of James Madison University. It features five theaters that host a variety of performances including music, dance, and drama. The center has received praise for its top-tier performance spaces, excellent acoustics in the concert hall, modern facilities with comfortable seating, and wheelchair accessible access. Visitors have enjoyed a range of shows and performances at the Forbes Center, from theater productions to musicals and opera.
Saw a student dance performance. Beautiful, compelling, entertaining. The students put their ask into their pieces. It is a lovely facility, as well.

What a beautiful fine arts venue. A real treasure on the campus of James Madison University.

I've been to some of the performances at the Forbes Center and I absolutely loved them!!! I've recently been to their Winter Solstice Concert and it was a real treat!!! They always have some good shows, whether it's theater, musicals and even opera.. I'll definitely go again!

Love this place. Very modern looking, comfortable seats, clean. It has wheelchair accessible access. Parking lot is very close with elevators and short walk under the roof to the center.
Eugene S — Google review
Great small venue to watch a play! Would have been nice to have some sort of concession area. 3 hours is a long time with no food or drink allowed in the building at all and having water fountains for water bottle refills only. And clearer labels on the doors to indicate which one to go in based on your ticket so that you don't have to wait in an entrance line twice like we did would be great.
Marshall J — Google review
This is a beautiful center and the concert hall has excellent acoustics. It's medium-sized with good visibility from just about everywhere (not so good from the first row corners, though, as this row is below stage level).

Brewery
Restless Moons Brewing, which opened in February 2018, was the result of a passion for craft beer that had been brewing for almost ten years. Starting as a simple hobby with a homebrew kit, it quickly turned into an obsession. The founders diligently brewed small batches on their kitchen stove while immersing themselves in beer literature. The brewery offers a diverse selection of beers and allows customers to sample various types through flights.
Another great brewery/taproom in Harrisonburg. Restless Moons was recommended to me by a bartender at The Friendly Fermenter, and that was absolutely spot on. Nice selection of beers; if you stand at the bar, you also get a great view of their brewing kettles. Friendly staff, nice beer garden out back. No pub food sold, but a patron told me that it might be possible to bring one's own snacks (have not confirmed this with staff though). Monday night is Movie Night IIRC. Would definitely return if I had the chance.

I had a good time here with the friendly staff. They helped narrow down my choices. Excellent beers! Their Brewster really knows his stuff. Recommend this stop when you're in the area.
Matthew — Google review
We stopped in while traveling and had a couple IPAs. You order at the bar and then go have a seat. They had a couple couches which made it cozy and some tables. They also have an outdoor area in the back. The bartender was personable. The IPAs were good. They do some special events - dart games, game night, movie night. I didn’t notice a kitchen so not sure if they have food or allow you to bring any in. Parking was just a few spots out front but you can probably park somewhere close by.
Miss V — Google review
Comfy, cozy spot for an early Saturday drink. They are dog and kid friendly as long as your dogs and kids are friendly (and chill). They have stools, chairs, and couches inside and a back patio with picnic tables. There were 10 beers on tap when I visited which was nice and simple. No need to study up and get overwhelmed with a binder of choices.
Jane L — Google review
Nicole, the bartender, was fabulous!! She talked us through beers, having food delivered and just a great personality. Our favorite stop on our anniversary weekend. Thank you, Nicole, for a GREAT experience!!!
Linda S — Google review
Not a bad place. I was between a three and a four but ended up giving them four because the employees and patrons were nice, whereas the beer was average. The light red was maybe a little bit too light lacking some of the characteristics of a normal red such as cork and earthy maltiness. The dunkle was pretty much true to form, if not a little bit light on the malt bill as well. The wee heavy was spot on but I didn't love the ancho pepper editions. I'm not a big adjunct fan in general. The Baltic Porter was very nice, but definitely a heavier variety than a normal baltic porter, which is exemplified by the alcohol percentage difference.
Daniel M — Google review
Brewery gem of Harrisonburg! So many good breweries but this one had such an array of beer styles all done so wonderfully. Flights available. 12 taps. Had a gose and hard seltzer. Not a sour at the time but tart saison similar to sour. Most $6 pints. Street parking right at location. Inside and outside seating. Outside has picnic tables, some umbrellas and cornhole.
Joan C — Google review
Small brewing operation with a great taproom and outdoor seating area. Everything we tasted was great! A must stop if you like beer and are in Harrisonburg

🌿 Five-Star Experience at Walkabout Outfitter in Harrisonburg! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Walkabout Outfitter in Harrisonburg is a true gem for outdoor enthusiasts! From the moment I walked in, I was welcomed with warmth and expertise. Elissa was an incredibly helpful salesperson—knowledgeable, patient, and eager to ensure I found exactly what I needed for my next adventure. The store offers high-quality gear, and I couldn’t be happier with my finds—Topo hiking shoes, Smartwool socks, and tick repellent to keep me comfortable and prepared on the trails. If you're looking for top-notch outdoor products and outstanding customer service, this is the place to go! Highly recommend! 🥾🌲😊

Staff At Walkabout are friendly and helpful but not pushy. It's great to have a local outdoor store! They have been helpful with some special order items as well. Visually, the store vibe feels a little corporate. It might be nice to have a vibe that somehow celebrates local folks who love the outdoors. Even a picture frame with a photo that changed once a month could be fun.

I needed a new sleeping pad and Brent helped us out, laying all of the mattress pads out on the floor. He gave us all the time in the world to try each one out multiple times and gave some really good advice on picking the right one. Everyone was super friendly, really happy I made my purchase here!

The team at Walkabout Outfitters is so incredibly kind and knowledgeable. And when we went on a recent trip to Ireland and needed some new things, they were very helpful with their recommendations--which to no surprise during the trip--were spot on! Would highly recommend shopping here---they are a great example of a local, reputable business and have plenty of inventory for whatever you may need!

The staff there were very knowledgeable about the shapes of shoes between the different brands, and helpfully guided me into what is probably the best fitting shoes I've bought in years!

Court Square Theater is a small and charming cinema that offers both movie screenings and live performances in a historic building. The venue features excellent acoustics, comfortable seats, and a friendly staff. In addition to the entertainment offerings, there are also refreshments available for purchase. While some guests have noted that the bathrooms are small, visitors generally leave satisfied with their experience at Court Square Theater.
Because I genuinely don't like large crowds, I absolutely love it here. It wasn't crowded, everyone was so warm and welcoming. The movie was Widow Criquot. The woman at the concession stand was so sweet and lovely. It was an all sound wonderful time.

If you haven't come been down to court square to enjoy as show at the theater or to have a delicious meal a the capital Ale house then I suggest you find some time in you busy schedule to do so.

I LOVE this theater… however , since they rarely show movies anymore or rather changed the time for Wednesday’s, I haven’t been able to enjoy this theater for movies….I feel certain I’m not the only person who feels this way. Weekends are the time for movies, not the middle of the work week…..also, I miss being able to see independent films, like what was available to us before this change. We are blessed to have this theater in our wonderful town, it would be nice to see it used more effectively. Ie: The Paramount Theatre in Charlottesville…. Thank you for your time.

My girlfriend lives in Upstate New York, and I live in Georgia, so we met in Harrisonburg for a weekend rendezvous. We began our weekend with a concert at the Court Square Theater and found the venue to be cozy and comfortable. The audience was enthusiastic and engaged, and the staff was kind and most helpful. I look forward to returning next time we are in Harrisonburg.

I saw a movie there once, and also there was s restaurant (Captain Ale), and both were amazing.
Jonathan ( — Google review
Was checking out the logistics re possibly attending a certain show there in February. Area of theater was blocked off so could not drive in front of it. Then exploring parking possibilities, all looked like too much walking from parking to the theater, so have determined not to go. However, as Court Square points out in its reply, the 3 stars do not relate to the theater. Have never been there. We are now informed there is parking within 30 feet, so may reconsider going to Robbie Limon's Buddy Holly show. We saw it in Winchester earlier this year; it is so good we wanted to see it again. Still wish to check out logistics as some in our party truly cannot walk far.

It was a nice cozy theater. The sound system was excellent. It would have been nice if they had bigger bathrooms.

Kline's Dairy Bar is a long-standing, family-owned ice cream shop that has been serving up delicious frozen custard in the Harrisonburg area since 1943. With multiple locations across town and expansions into other cities, Kline's offers premium, custard-style ice cream prepared fresh daily. The first location was opened over 80 years ago in downtown Harrisonburg and has become a local staple.
Good ice cream, fast service. 3 flavors chocolate, vanilla, special flavor. I think it melts fast but always smooth and seems fresh. Never icy, been coming here since 92’. Shake was great

Really delicious! I got the Oreo mixed ice cream, sooooooo yummy! They only come in 1 size though and it was HUGE and unfortunately my bf doesn’t eat ice cream so most of it went to waste. I would suggest offering smaller sizes, but it was SO GOOD.

Just tried Kline’s Dairy Bar for the first time and I was pleasantly surprised. Very tasty ice cream, nice workers and a pretty good selection. I do wish there was inside seating, but overall it was a good experience with tasty desserts.

I don’t know how this place has such a high rating. They nickel and dime you so hard, and their prices are outrageous. They only offer 4 flavors of ice cream and their sundaes aren’t even real sundaes. Overpriced and not worth the stop.
Skye E — Google review
WHAT A RIP OFF!!!... i will NEVER be back!... It was $17 for a milkshake & sundae. They only have Manila or chocolate ice cream and they add whatever toppings you want. I got cookie dough chocolate chips as my toppings on my vanilla ice cream and I could tell right away that they do not clean their ice cream machine enough! The texture was crystallized and not creamy at all-The vanilla ice cream had ice chips in it and was partially freezer burned! I will stick to JJ's soft serve in timberville or Smiley's ive cream in Bridgewater!

Restaurant
Montpelier Restaurant and Bar, a recently established establishment in Harrisonburg, VA, offers cuisine inspired by the southern region. Their dishes are carefully prepared using locally sourced ingredients. Whether you opt for breakfast, lunch or dinner at this venue, you can expect a dining experience that showcases the finest produce available in the area. The atmosphere of Montpelier is excellent and the staff members are known for their warm and friendly service.
I thought the burger was quite good; really liked the beef blend of the patty. Maybe a tad too expensive (although who could say, I don't know how much it costs for them to buy ingredients. I just know everything tastes good.), but if you're staying in the hotel already, it's hard to beat the convenience and quality of Monty's. Bar tender was a top lad and made me feel like a professional. Would be happy to return.

A hidden gem in a college town! We stopped in because we arrived late at the hotel and needed dinner. We had a party with one person with many food allergies and one who eats gluten free, and two teenagers. Monty’s accommodated all of us, and gave us delicious food, even though it was almost time to close! My son said the burger was probably the best he’s ever eaten. Logan the manager told us it’s hand ground from local beef using 4 cuts. The food was so good we went back the next night, even though there is a town full of options. Logan welcomed us warmly and remembered our family, including our allergies and food requirements. Alfonso our waiter was so attentive. We never had an empty glass and he made sure everything was done to our liking. The highlights of the meals were definitely the burger, the salmon and the strip steak, and a really good veggie burger (lots of gluten free options as well), to go with the excellent service from Logan, Alfonso and Julia. I will definitely come back when visiting the area!

Stayed 2 nights got their breakfast and dinner, everything was great. Breakfast had good options and was buffet style for a decent price. Dinner was top notch, great service, friendly staff, quiet relaxed atmosphere. After a long day working and traveling this was a great spot to stop by. If you’re staying here do yourself a favor and step down for the food.

I write few reviews and only positive ones - until now. I was part of a large party and kudos for honoring our 545pm reservation. I am a JMU parent who years ago worked many restaurant jobs so it really hard to not get a great tip from me. But PLEASE look at the attached photo of my “Brisket” meal - a few foul pieces of gristle. The manager offered to take it off the tab (fine) and offered me hummus as this could be brought out quickly (as we told our waiter - nice kid, clearly learning and trying - we needed to leave by 730pm for a show). Sadly the hummus was itself super poor quality. I appreciate “things happen” and appreciate the added stress of a busy parent weekend but can only conclude after our visit - DO NOT eat there as it just is no where near value of the $50 per person paid. And after telling us repeatedly our group tab would be discounted, at the end of the day we received $3 off of a $500 tab! Terrible!
TJ R — Google review
I find myself in Monty's regularly as a nightcap when dropping visiting friends off at the hotel. The drinks are fine and the atmosphere is okay. The staff are all pleasant to interact with. Unfortunately, they have have easily the worst food I've had in Harrisonburg... And I have eaten at most restaurants in the area. I've had their food no less than seven times and every time it is more disappointing than the last. I keep going back for the drinks and expecting (hoping) the food will improve, but am consistently disappointed. For what it's worth, I'll probably continue to get the occasional drink there.
Ron — Google review
Not worth the $50 per person spent. Parents weekend and Montys was great for holding a reservation for 10 of us at 5:45pm. It wasnt all that busy and it was a limited menu but you would have thought it was their first day open. Drinks took 20 min to arrive, food took about an hour. Manager apologized and said he would comp part of the meal. Pimento cheese appetizer was good, but steak was terrible, fish was fine and brisket was an absolute joke. If we didnt have to rush out to catch a show I would have stayed to say something. Final cost $500. What was comped - 10% on the appetizers which amounted to a whopping $3. Manager needs to do better.
Ian S — Google review
Ok, this is the restaurant inside hotel Madison. For me, the prices are average. Portions are small. Service is clunky, it seems like a lot of college students who are learning. None of the food was great, but none was terrible. It’s a solid option if staying at the hotel. I think they could make this a lot better with a few adjustments. We ate the breakfast bar 2x. The eggs are really good, the meat was either over cooked or undercooked. Biscuits and gravy were good when fresh, but not not always fresh. They need salt and pepper at all tables, ice available for the drinks, pastries and baked goods all seemed to have been sitting in plastic for a while. Again, just some feedback to hopefully make it better! They really need to figure out some better situational set up for game day. It could have been A LOT better. It was difficult to order a drink in the lobby because the amount of people eating at the bar, when there is an empty restaurant next door. Game day should really have a post game buffet in there. It would be a huge hit.
Kevin M — Google review
Staying at Hotel Madison for the week. Was excited about the breakfast only to be charged $17 for a sub quality continental breakfast. Cold eggs, cold potatoes nasty oatmeal. No thanks. Can't return for breakfast. People were nice, so that's cool, but bad food.

Pizza restaurant
Benny Sorrentino's is a casual pizzeria known for its thin-crust slices and massive 28-inch pies that can feed the whole family. The restaurant offers a fun experience with arcade games, darts, and a bowling alley at Rubys Arcade. For those seeking a farm-to-table experience, Bella Luna Wood-Fired Pizza allows guests to watch their pizza being made while enjoying craft beer, hard cider, wine, or artisan cocktails.
We really enjoyed this place. The pizza was huge and not expensive. Service was good. I would definitely recommend this place.

Not from around here and coming from being a pizza shop manager for the past 6 years, i def did not expect this! What an awesome suprise!! Love it!!!

Ok....so..... stopped by here simply because I saw a kid with a slice of pizza as big as his head! Not even lying! Service was good, the young lady taking our order was nice and polite....so, yeah. * Didn't take long to get our food and it tasted good. Nothing to really jump in your face about, but it's pizza.....had a good flavor and the crust was really nice! * Price was reasonable.....$12 for both of us to eat. I can live with that! * I didn't see the bathroom so no star for that. And ....it's a college town, so the atmosphere was......eh..... college like...lol. No star. Overall - 3 ⭐'s and yes I'd recommend going not only for the food but the experience of eating a slice of pizza as big as your head! AND......they make them as big as a car tire, too...... plenty of pizza for a party or game day! Go here!
Cameron T — Google review
This is simply my favorite pizza shop in the whole area. Highly recommend it. I drive 35 minutes one way just to grab a slice from time to time.
Peter D — Google review
This place has fantastic tasting pizza and you would not believe the size of one slice of pizza because a whole pie is 28 inches wide! I had a great experience having a piece of pizza that was macaroni and cheese with bacon flavored which I've never had before and I would highly suggest trying it out!
Daniel A — Google review
Delicious pizza, cheese and pepperoni slices. The dough was perfectly baked and the slices were large enough for a big appetite. Staff nice and prices were fair. Will come back!.
M. M — Google review
Honestly a joke. The pizza is like cardboard. I feel like I could place it on the side and stick it on a flagpole and it would fly in the wind. They never answer their phones. So good luck if your order gets messed up online. I'm sure it's easier to talk to the Pope. The pizza here is good enough for people at JMU or Virginia probably because they don't have a palate that expands past the Appalachian mountains. Go anywhere in Chicagoland or New York City.

Ordered a large pizza was as hard as a rock couldn't eat it. But did look good and smell good just was very dry. They ha e taken care of the problem quick
