If you keep going down the ways, there are a ton of rope swings. This lake is super nice 😊 Everyone is very friendly and its a good way to spend the day. The houses nearby are also so beautiful to look at 😮

Beautiful place for everyone. Everyone was happy, nice and friendly. Great place to picnic, walk around the lakes edge, and all the people that I saw fishing were also most everyone had caught something from an average size perch to a 5+lb largemouth bass.
Michael S — Google review
A Lodi gem. So happy to have this place for my daily walks from where I live all around the lake and nature trail. Where else can you see deer, fox, and other wild animals on your walk. Just a nice place to escape the town and be in nature.
Stephanie J — Google review
Lodi Lake is a true local gem! Peaceful trails shaded by trees, a calm lake for kayaking or paddleboarding, and a small sandy beach perfect for families. The park is clean, safe, and full of wildlife like ducks and birds. Whether you want to fish, picnic, or just relax by the water, it’s a beautiful spot to enjoy nature right in Lodi.
Y G — Google review
Fantastic place to visit and the botanical walking gardens have information about many diverse plants and animals. The lake itself serves kayaking and canoe enthusiasts. Had not been here in 50 years but it is better now than then.

Absolutely stunning! My kids and I had so much fun walking around and exploring. Parking on site for a small fee, or free parking in allowed areas on the street. They have clean bathrooms, kayak and paddleboat rentals, and picnic tables. There is a playground for children and a nature walking path. They include everything for all to enjoy! Great place to spend the day with family and friends.

Lake is awesome as is the staff. So many updates to the area. Bbq pits are new and have lids, bathrooms are redone and nice as well. Boathouse to rent kayaks etc. Beach area to swim with the kids and family. I take my paddleboard.

First time there and am amazed. Loved the deers and squirrels running around. Would definitely take my family there.

Lodi Lake Wilderness Area

Nature preserve
Lodi Lake Wilderness Area, located alongside a river, is renowned for its diverse bird population and is considered the top spot for bird-watching in the north central valley. Visitors can also spot deer and other wildlife while taking a leisurely walk through the area. The wilderness offers beautiful trees and a natural ambiance that makes visitors feel like they are truly in the wild. It's an ideal location for families with young children, offering street parking as well as picnic spots.
We just discovered Lodi Lake Wilderness Area! Great spot for a number of activities or just relaxing in a peaceful environment. Saw deer, squirrels and a variety of birds and water fowl! Hiking trail was easy & scenic!
J H — Google review
I love the Lodi Lake wilderness area. It is one of my favorite walks to do honestly any day of the week. It is a lot busier of a spot during the weekends and during the summer holiday. The loop starts in a wooded area, and then it goes to wind around to the river, where there are several spots where you can fish. Dogs are not allowed in this area, which I think is very important, since there is wildlife here. During some seasons as you can even see baby dear.
Thelma S — Google review
We come here occasionally for morning walks. The outdoor natural beauty, fresh air, and deer 🦌 sighting is always a positive. Little over a mile walk frim start to finish. Must come and see for yourself.
Bruce T — Google review
Swim area Opening Day on Memorial Day was FREE entry. Great atmosphere. Canopy of red wood trees near Toddler chlorine splash pool. Lake is supervised by life guards so you can feel comfortable with letting children swim and play freely. Life jackets are provided and recommended. You can bring your own food, water toys. Open Showers in bathroom also near splash pad. Occasionally the geese would swim by. Walking trail around lake with great views of boaters and those enjoying time on the lake such as jet skiers, paddle boarding and kayaking.
Crystal W — Google review
Lodi lake and the wilderness area are a gem that you should visit when coming to Lodi. It is an easy walk with deer nearby that I have seen nearly every time I have walked the wilderness area. The wilderness area is mostly shaded and the breeze off the river and lake keep the area noticibly cooler than the surrounding area.

Bar
Nestled within the Wine & Roses hotel, Towne House Restaurant offers a gourmet American dining experience with a focus on locally sourced ingredients. The restaurant boasts an impressive wine list featuring over 80 wines from Lodi and provides outdoor seating accompanied by live music. Guests can indulge in innovative dishes such as the smoked salmon scramble or corned beef hash for brunch, all served in a modern and cozy setting.
My husband and I ate here yesterday to celebrate 10 years of marriage, and we could not have dreamed up a better experience! We got to meet Victoria, who handles the midology class and the drink menu here and she is a GENIUS! The espresso martini and their Date-Maple old fashioned are the best we have ever had, I normally do not drink bourbon or whiskey but again, she's is a genius and I will only ever have an old fashioned if she is the one behind it. We also got to meet Amber and Sean at their bar area, which coincidentally is mine and my husbands name! It was serendipitous, a sign this weekend was meant to be. Everyone was so friendly and warm and welcoming. Now to dinner, our waitress Maya was a saint. She was so friendly, helpful and on it! Everything was perfectly paced, and she was so helpful! The food was 10/10, everything we ordered we thoroughly enjoyed. I will dream of their steak, and hamachi tartare. They even gave us complimentary prosecco to toast our anniversary, which was so sweet and thoughtful. This was definitely a splurge for us, but so worth it! Overall we absolutely loved our experience, the food and the ambiance and we can not wait until we are able to come back and relive the experience. Thank you Americana house and Appelation for such a beautiful weekend.

Beautiful place for nice ambiance and for Valentine's day . The set 4 course meals could of had better options with bigger portions, especially for The price we paid. cocktails was exquisite and they did not cheap out on the alcohol when making good cocktails. Outside seating was cold, I wish they had more heaters. inside lounge area was taken away for valentine's dining, so no really bar lounge area to sit. Good guitar live music was a nice touch. Overall we had a good time but probably would have gone somewhere else for Valentine's. Everyday dinner here is completely different, plenty of options for dinner and bigger portions. I recommend coming here on a regular day and not for a set course menu.

When I stepped foot onto this place, it felt like an oasis. Along with outside of this restaurant. The trees, flowers and even there was cockatiels and macaws to see. It's good to hear that the folks take care of their landscape job. I enjoyed every bit of this beautiful scenery outside. They do have a beautiful garden too, it's very lovely! The interior of this place is fantastic, it was relaxing and the waitress was very sweet. I got their special that wasn't on the menu and they do have good service here. Their bathroom is very fancy and vintage, which I dig that design! Overall, the rest of the staff is friendly and they're willing to help us if there's any questions.

---- Introduction: ---- Towne House Restaurant, located at Wine & Roses in Lodi, California, offers a high-end dining experience with an exceptional atmosphere and top-notch service. Nestled within the beautiful grounds of Wine & Roses, this restaurant provides a unique and delightful culinary journey. ---- Atmosphere:---- - Outside: The restaurant is located on the side of Wine & Roses, behind their café. The setting is picturesque, surrounded by trees and gardens, giving you the feel of being in wine country. You can see caged birds, including parrots, and enjoy a peaceful walk through the grounds. - Inside: The interior continues the theme of the lush exterior, with a country, mama's cooking atmosphere. The restaurant is in a historic house, offering a cozy and inviting ambiance. The tables are elegantly decorated with thick cloths, and the numerous windows provide plenty of natural light and views of the beautiful garden and outdoor seating area. Food Quality: Asparagus: Asparagus can be prepared in two ways: grilled or in a cold salad. Both versions are exceptional. - Primary Burger: The burger is juicy and delicious, made from ground steak meat and cooked to medium-rare perfection. The aioli sauce used is one of a kind and enhances the burger's flavor. - Pork Sandwich: The pork is tender and well-prepared, with a thin, perfectly seared slab. The bun is soft and moist, with a hint of olive oil that adds a refreshing flavor. - Fries: The fries are crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside, making them perfect. - Steak: While not a steakhouse, the restaurant prepares its steak better than many steakhouses. It is highly recommended. - Pasta and Lasagna: All pasta and sauces are made from scratch in the morning. The lasagna is amazing, with well-held-together layers and a blend of flavorful cheeses. - Desserts: The desserts change seasonally but are always great. Every dessert tried has been perfect. ---- Service:---- The service at Towne House Restaurant is superb, with staff providing a 10 out of 10 experience. They are attentive and knowledgeable about the menu, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. The quality of service is on par with that of very high-end restaurants. ---- Cleanliness: ---- The restaurant is well-kept and very clean. The floors, tables, chairs, and other furniture are meticulously maintained, contributing to a pleasant dining experience. ---- Service Dog Accommodation: ---- The restaurant is very accommodating and respectful regarding service animals. They ask the appropriate questions and ensure that seating arrangements are comfortable for guests with service animals. ---- Value for Money: ---- Towne House Restaurant offers exceptional food and service at reasonable prices. Unlike many high-end restaurants with high prices, this place provides high-quality food for a reasonable cost, making it an excellent value for the money. ---- Overall Experience: ---- I highly recommend Towne House Restaurant to anyone in the Lodi area. It is a hidden gem with outstanding food, service, and atmosphere. This restaurant deserves recognition, and it should be Michelin star-rated. If you are looking for a delightful dining experience, Towne House Restaurant is the place to go.

The duck was perfect and extremely generous in portion. The stone fruit appetizer, was a portion disappointment however, but must say it was perfect! I was reassured that the peaches, etc. are sourced from the same farm that supplies for French Laundry, I guess that makes me feel better about $16 for a few slices of fruit. Loved all the flavors of my dishes and the relaxed vibe of the place. Service was solid.

A fantastic place for any occasion. The wine offerings by the glass was stellar and the food was delicious and presented- prepared expertly. I was fortunate to meet the chef years ago in NYC and he has continued to provide a foodies experience. Bravo. This restaurant gets the Composanto seal of approval!

Imagine a failed fine-dining experience in the 90s before America found its own, delightful way to gastronomic greatness. The atmosphere at Towne House was neither formal (a busy table of Cab-soused patrons kept making that statement loud and clear) nor casual, but floated in the uncomfortable limbo of "trying too hard." I must admit, when I got in, a welcoming piano bar raised my expectations. Perhaps I should have stopped there, ordered a Pinot from a local winery and chatted with the bartender who wore a magnificent U-shaped mustache and squinted smiling eyes that would convince any reasonable human being to become his best friend without further ado. I was not reasonable, however, and blindly walked my way into the dining room. Tidy, with an efficient layout, some warming touches of walnut wood and clean white tablecloths - a consultant might have helped - but lacking the soul and stories that fill a space with its true essence. I didn't find the soul and stories in the food either. The grilled oysters I was served never saw the spark of a flame. They tasted like naked boiled mollusques drown in green briny oil (felt like pesto met garlic butter but the date quickly turned sour.) The "Honest acres greens" were anything but honest. The whitish watery vinaigrette was a culinary scam, and the rescue team is still looking for the rare snow peas buried underneath the sad little red leaf hill. The chicken came with a flat ball of wet spinach, onion noodles, and squash still deciding whether it was broiled or boiled. Thankfully there was pepper and salt on the table - like in the 90s! I skipped dessert. Do you remember now that failed fine-dining experience from the 90s? These restaurants were expensive but felt cheap. Note: the staff was super friendly and professional.

Nestled in Lodi, A&W Restaurant is a must-visit for anyone craving a taste of classic American fare. While this location may not be the original, it boasts charming carhop service and an array of nostalgic memorabilia that pays homage to its roots. Picture yourself enjoying a delicious meal on a sunny day—perhaps some crispy chicken tenders paired with golden fries and their iconic root beer served in frosty mugs.
Love this place! Burgers are really good I recommend getting a double because the single is a little thin. Always warm and fresh. Obviously when you’re here, you have to try the root beer too. It’s to die for. Good location, nice clean restaurant. Can’t go wrong.

Old skool restaurant, in the middle of a "downtown" district of a rundown ag town. The trophy case has hundreds of articles of A&W paraphernalia, including limited edition souvenir mugs, labeled by year. There's a drive thru and a drive-up (don't know if it operates like Arnold's from Happy Days, but it's skating waitress-ready.

Clean and quiet. Came during their last hour, used kiosk to order. This was our first time trying this chain. With all the upgrades it came to about $20 per person, quite pricey for fast food. Everything came out fairly quickly, hot and delicious!

Visiting the original A&W stand in Lodi, CA, was such a treat! I loved seeing all the memorabilia on display, it’s like stepping back in time. The food is classic comfort fare, with lots of fried options that are absolutely delicious and served piping hot. It’s a must stop if you’re in Lodi, whether you’re a history buff or just craving some great eats. Don’t miss out on this iconic spot!

We went through the drive-thru while they were doing construction and tree trimming so we couldn't hear the person taking our order and they couldn't hear us. We pulled around to clarify our order and they are very gracious and the service was really fast and by the time we got it back to the hotel 10 minutes later it was still hot and still good. highly recommend this a&w. oops, those pics were from another hamburger joint. I deleted them. Still, I'd go back to this A&W anytime I'm in Lodi. Thanks!

'25/7 1st time customer this location: >> This Lodi, CA location is the original A&W (founded 1919 by 2 men bearing their last initials). << -- Very easy to find (on main road) & park. -- 5 Star for a fast food, nostalgic, chain restaurant. MANY display cases & framed print of said memorabilia. Root bear still served in frosted glass mugs. -- Food & service consistent with brand name. -- Bottom line: Worthy the visit to experience the original location architecture, layout, & old-school vibe.

I haven't been to A&W for awhile and am so glad I did! Ethan took our order and brought it to our table. He is so friendly and efficient! He knew the menu inside and out and answered all our questions. The value meals were delicious, old fashioned root beer in a chilled mug, not overly carbonated, and perfectly golden crispy fries are one of life's simple pleasures.

We had a great experience at A&W! The customer service was great everyone was so friendly! The food was hot, fresh, and came out quickly. The root beer float was delicious, and we loved that they brought everything to our table. We'll definitely be back when in the area.

Yume Japanese Cuisine in California is renowned for offering some of the finest sushi outside of Japan. With its intimate atmosphere and unique menu selections, it provides an authentic dining experience. The restaurant prides itself on serving genuine sushi and ramen, carefully crafted by the dedicated owner, Masa. The flavorful dishes, such as the tangy lemongrass ramen with freshly made noodles, are highly recommended.
Service, food, and atmosphere were great! I ordered a sashimi appetizer, spicy ramen, and spicy dragon roll. Each food item was so delicious! I loved the vibes of the restaurant and the waiters were so kind. The best place locally!

Been wanting to check out this spot for years. Small intimate spot in a corner shopping plaza. Walking in, you can tell this sushi spot is surrounded by locals. We seated right away. The young waitress explained the special for the day and answered any questions we had regarding menu items. We ordered the special fried shishito peppers. Sorted veggie tempura + a dragon 🐉 roll to share. 1 Udon and 3 Ramen soup. More than enough food. Roll was definitely on the smaller size/portion. Really came here for the ramen and it did not disappoint. I'll be back soon.

1st & Last time. Beware-Check your bank statement. Food was good, the Mgr was nice but it's like any other sushi place. This review is how they don't honor best business practices when you clearly show them your bank statement & how they/their system charged twice. The Mgr showed me their till receipts & it showed 1 charge. However I showed them the bank's statement of 2 debits, posted NOT pending. He proceeded to show me directions to read on his phone on how to dispute. Which I did, hence me being there in person. It instructed one to go to the merchant, show the bank statement & request a refund. I did ALL the steps & still wouldn't honor it. Even though he had me read this on his cell. We will dispute the duplicate charge. So BEWARE their system can malfunction or glitch & charge you double, triple and they will do nothing about it. Honestly you can find the same if not better sushi elsewhere & a business with integrity.

Sushi is almost religious experience for me. I have had a lot of it in a lot of places. Unfortunately, Yume kinda let me down. While the salmon was very fresh and tasty, the rolls are so small and wildly overpriced. Let's talk about the size issue, because this is more of a deal breaker for me than the price. There is so little in the rolls, and they're the wrapped in so little rice that they don't really stick together and begin to come unwrapped when picked up. I would rather have a roll that is less pieces and wrapped big enough to hold its shape. We also tried the teriyaki beef and broccoli and the meat was inconsistently cooked, some was really overdone. The sauce was also disappointing because it had very little flavor. I get that this is Lodi, but I can get sushi in San Francisco that's not only markedly better, but also cheaper. I usually give any place w couple tries, but I really don't think I will be back here, and really can't recommend you try it.

Shared appetizers with my hubby for dinner. We had the tempura brussel sprouts, mixed tempura (veggies and shrimp), shrimp lollipops, eggrolls, and assorted sashimi. Food was hot and tasty. The fried brussel sprouts were very good. Service was quick and the staff were very friendly and attentive.

Great staff and service! Came in on a Friday night and got seated at the bar. Quick service +QR code menus. We ordered multiple items- chicken teriyaki bento, 2 rolls, chicken udon, salmon sashimi and uni. Overall food was ok. Ok, because everything was overwhelmingly covered in sauce, except the sashimi and maybe uni. The rolls had good flavor and were really big, but again so much sauce. Bento- highlight the is salad and soup. The tempura was a little stale and chicken was drowning in sauce.

16$ for 2 pork ribs that tasted like they were baked and had a glaze put on it after. This was some of the worst quality of sushi and food I have had in a long time. Then again this is Lodi nobody here would know good sushi from a catfish caught down at the creek. Some of the food was ok but this was absolutely trash considering the price. Absolute Joke I hate bashing businesses but when your product is what it is with those prices you ask for it.

Customers often praise the friendly service and cozy booths, making it a pleasant dining experience. While some find the breakfast portions a bit small for the price, they are served hot and taste delicious.

I recently visited Denis' Country Kitchen in Lodi, CA, and I had a fantastic experience. I ordered the Veggie Omelette with Country Potatoes and Delicious French Toast, and everything was absolutely delicious. The omelette was packed with fresh veggies and cooked to perfection, and the country potatoes were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. And don't even get me started on the French toast -- it was hands down the best I've ever had. The bread was thick and fluffy, and the cinnamon and sugar topping was heavenly. But the food wasn't the only thing that impressed me about Denis' Country Kitchen. The service was top notch too. The staff was friendly and attentive, and they went out of their way to make sure I had everything I needed. Overall, I highly recommend Denis' Country Kitchen to anyone in the Lodi area. The food is delicious, the service is excellent, and the prices are very reasonable. I can't wait to go back and try more of their menu items!

Best country fried steak and garlic fries that I've every had! Small dining area means sometimes there's a wait but it's well worth it.

I absolutely love everything about this place! The decor is cozy, and the seating is comfy and inviting. The service is wonderful. Attentive without being invasive. I went for breakfast with a friend, and we were served complimentary fresh squeezed orange juice shots with a palmier cookie while we perused the menu. Nice touch! There were lots of delectable sounding choices. I chose scrambled eggs, crisp bacon (which was excellent!), along with a short stack of pancakes. The pancakes were HUGE, plate sized and fluffy, and tasted so delicious. They didn't even need syrup, but I poured it on, and it was love at first bite. 🩷 I will definitely be going back for more. They even serve dinner one night each week, and I plan to try that. Definitely go. You won't be disappointed.

You know that the food is amazing and service is dependable when you see other posting about going to other places. We LOVE this place and the new menu. The dishes are cleaner and more flavorful. The chicken and waffles are the best hands down. We are going back for more. The place is busy but you get in and out of there in good time and folks love it. What pulled us in was the crowd.

First place I've been to where the pancakes are genuinely good! Very impressed! Super amazingly nice staff that makes you feel like a blessed angel!

Woodbridge Crossing is a popular spot for live music on Friday and Saturday nights. Hawks Landing Wine Cellars also offers live music, but Woodbridge Crossing stands out for its great food and drinks. Known for its prime rib and clam chowder, the restaurant offers impressive portions of tender and flavorful prime rib. The menu includes options for vegetarians as well.
Simply Awesome!!! I don’t know how else to describe it. This fabulous restaurant & bar has a LOT of history (ask anybody). Dining on spectacular cuts of beef, in the old train boxcar is an experience you don’t want to miss.

Everything was great. The waitress Sadie was welcoming us as soon as we walked in. She was everything you want in a waitress and more. Attentive , kind , funny and just a great personality . The food was delicious. Mozzarella sticks are made in house and so much better than any I’ve ever had. French dip was fresh and meat was perfect. My daughter and I really enjoyed our dinner and can’t wait to come back.

Love the atmosphere of this place. The seating is great and it's fun to just look at the structure and architect of the building itself. Then the food and service. Our server was Tara and she was fantastic and checked on us to be sure everything was going good. It was. We both had the Prime Rib Au Jus sandwich and fries and it was absolutely delicious. Loved that they offered horse radish with it too. We will definitely be going back and will request Tara again when we do return.

Food was good but deceptive marketing. Menu says 6 potato skins. As it turns out it only 3 because they cut them in half. The menu should read, 6 halves!

Small town gem for sure! I enjoyed having dinner here. The food was good, I did feel that my steak had a little too much pepper on it, nonetheless it was great! Cute spot to stop by to have dinner if you’re in the area. The atmosphere was nice and they have great service as well!

Worst experience I’ve ever had with a server. I’m a very patient person when it comes to customer service having worked in it. Service was horrible. They were not busy by any means. Took 20 mins just to get drinks that we ordered when we sat down. Another 20 before she took our order when she actually brought the drinks. Kept walking by not acknowledging us so my husband had to get up and get his own second drink. When food finally arrived filet was absolutely charred on outside and pink in center. Ordered a second drink that I never even got. Will not be back.

Food is amazing. I had the Prime rib with loaded baked potato. The vegetables are done to perfection. Try their Lemon Meringue cocktail. It will become your new favorite.

First time at Woodbridge Crossing for an anniversary dinner & we will never be back. As someone who enjoys fine dining & supporting local restaurants it's hard to not return. I love going to Odd Fellows, Pietro's, Prime Table etc. and finally gave Woodbridge Crossing a chance as it came highly recommended. I ordered the bacon wrapped filet mignon & asked for it to be cooked to medium. When my first filet arrived it looked like it had already been hacked apart (poor cut of meat, possibly the end piece of the tenderloin) which was quite disappointing considering the price of this meal. Upon cutting into the steak it was blue rare & inedible. After waiting 5 minutes for our waitress to check on us, she instantly saw how rare the cut was & took it off my plate. After a few minutes she returned with the same piece of meat in a pile on a plate. Normally I would be ok with getting the same cut of meat back, but this time it was overcooked & burnt. She took the plate & said she'd get the chef to remake a new one, which would take a bit longer. About 5 minutes later the chef came out, he told me "if you had just cut into it you would've seen it was medium, but I will make you a new one". I found this a bit rude as I was not complaining & was very understanding. However, the cut of meat that I was served was not worth the price I was paying & wanted something I could enjoy. Finally after 15 minutes (my partner was finished eating by this point) my filet came out. This one did look much better, however it was a thin cut filet so I don't know why it took over 20 minutes to cook, especially since it was still rare. At this point I was starving as we were over an hour into our time there & I only had a slice of bread. I tried to salvage what I could, but it was very chewy & still inedible. The waitress returned & I told her how disappointed I was with the meal. She offered a free dessert, which we politely declined as we had dessert at home. She took my half eaten plate away as I was not going to force myself to eat rare meat. I figured a manager would be by, but instead a runner was sent with the bill, $172 for our meal & I hardly touched mine. To say I am highly disappointed is an understatement, for an establishment like this I expected better service & a good meal.

Day 2

South side of town
For day 2, we recommend exploring the south side side of town. Start the day off with Micke Grove Zoo, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Micke Grove Golf Course. All together, your day would be filled with about 8 hours of non-stop fun.

Zoos & Aquariums
Park
Micke Grove Zoo, nestled within Micke Grove Park, is a 5-acre animal sanctuary housing 130 different animal species, with a special focus on monkeys. The park also boasts the San Joaquin County Historical Museum and Japanese Garden, offering a serene retreat with cherry trees and a koi fish pool. Additionally, families can enjoy various attractions such as play areas, a splash pad for hot days, and the Fun Town amusement park.
Such a cute calm zoo/park. I definitely recommend this place if you have kids who get overwhelmed easily. There’s a fair amount of animals to see, a play area for kids, and plenty of seating if you want a quick break. Their bathrooms were well stocked and all the staff we encountered were very friendly. We might do a birthday party here in the spring/summer the atmosphere was great.

Today I was able to help my wife chaperone her 1st grade class field trip. This is a small zoo. But it was fun, the kids enjoyed it. And it was fun to show them around and let them learn about the different animals. And after we were done inside the zoo. When you come out the front gate. You can cross the street and have a picnic lunch like we did. There was plenty of shaded picnic tables. Enough for both classrooms to set and eat. Then the kid played with balls. And did a scavenger hunt in the picnic area. Bonus was that there was a very clean bathroom for boys and girls. And it was just across the street from the picnic area. And these are streets in the Micke Grove area. So the roads were not busy. It was safe for the kids to use the restroom.

Cute little zoo for kids! I have never been here before and I came for a field trip with my daughter's 1st grade class. There were many animals that kept them engaged. Took about an 1 hour for us to view and read about all of the exhibits. They have a nice garden and play area with picnic tables for relaxing as well. Parking is $5, tickets for adults $5 and kids are $3.
Mp E — Google review
My family and I went to Micke Grove Zoo this weekend. It was only $13 for the whole family, so the prices are super reasonable. The zoo was pretty well-maintained, and there were some nice areas to rest and things for the kids to do to keep them entertained. It’s a small zoo, so there weren’t many exhibits with animals. Most of the exhibits were closed for repairs, had no animals, or the animals weren’t in the outdoor areas. If you’re visiting the park, I’d recommend stopping by, but don’t make a special trip out of it.
Casey L — Google review
Very nice park. Well taken care of. Disc golf course has 18 holes of challenging holes with multiple baskets on each hole for different difficulties.
John S — Google review
VERY small zoo, but the keepers do a nice job with what they have. The admission is super cheap, $5 an adult, $3 a kid, 2 yo and under free. It's a nice short walk around to see a few animals then go play in the rest of the park. They are closed Monday and Tuesday as of this post.
Heidi V — Google review
First the pros. Admission is affordable ($3-5), even with parking (try to avoid special holidays). You have to consider this a small park with the possibility of seeing small animals. The exhibits aren’t very well designed, or not exactly designed for the specific animal. Didn’t see like half of the animals. Probably because of funding. If you set your expectations low, then it’s just a simple pass through. Just don’t give your expectations high.
Patrick P — Google review
I heard a lot of cool things about this place, so me and my friend met there with our three toddlers. We were met with disappointment. I was actually really upset that they charged us for the zoo. When we initially walked in their credit card machine wasn't working so we agreed to pay on the way out. Me and my friend walked around with our three kids and only saw about three animals, and all the exhibits had lots of weeds, making it feel abandoned. There were signs in a couple places saying that when it's hot they let the animals roam in and out of their cubbies but it was only 75 that day! 2/10 for having a clean restroom

Public golf course
Nestled within the expansive Micke Grove Regional Park, the Micke Grove Golf Course is a hidden gem in the San Joaquin Valley that beckons golf enthusiasts of all levels. This picturesque 18-hole, par-72 course offers an array of challenges with its strategically placed sand bunkers and serene lakes, making every round an adventure. Surrounded by lush vineyards and stunning natural landscapes, players can enjoy not only a great game but also breathtaking views throughout their experience.
Great golf course, fairways and greens were in excellent shape!! The course itself is very flat but don't let that fool you there are a lot of holes that will catch your attention, lol! The water is actually clean and it doesn't smell like a sewer when you get close to it. There is water out there but it's not diabolical, lol, it's water that with a decent shot you can easily clear. That doesn't mean you can't hit it in the water, you definitely can so don't take it for granted!!! Enjoy the course!!
Sydney G — Google review
Good value for the price, course is nice. Play can be slow at times (4.5+ hours), especially during Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Try to get early tee times if time is of the essence but tee times are much cheaper during the afternoon, pick your poison. Good for casual play and friendly staff.
Miguel M — Google review
I really wanted to enjoy this course, but the pace of play is absolutely atrocious. It took us 4.5 hours to play just 15 holes—and we finally gave up before finishing. When we asked about pace enforcement, we were told they only address it if someone calls it in. That’s a major red flag. Courses should be actively managing the flow of play, not waiting for complaints. A round of 18 should take 4.5 hours total, not that long for 15 holes. It’s frustrating to see a great layout and decent conditions completely undermined by poor management and zero accountability on the course. Until they take pace of play seriously, I can’t recommend this course—especially if you value your time or expect any kind of organized experience.
Austin K — Google review
Awesome public Golf Course 30 minutes South of Elk Grove CA. without heavy traffic. Stay very late during the summer time. Grass driving range, chipping and putting greens. The fairways and greens are well taken care off. Challenging place to play for beginners and high handicapper.
Paul P — Google review
Love the course, it’s always in great shape, prices are great and beat the competition in the area. One guy that works the front desk just ruins it for me. He’s arrogant and never willing to help out, asked how much a price is at twilight and he would only tell me the “all you can play” pricing. Have had a few issues with him. Hope he retires soon.
Jake N — Google review
Golf course was in excellent condition and the staff was very polite, friendly and informative. The pace of play was about 4-1/2 hours which we expect to be the case at most public golf courses.
Ron H — Google review
Great experience. All grass well maintained and very challenging course with water on almost every hole.
John S — Google review
This is a hard course, but it's well kept, the bunkers got a lip to them so you really got to get under the ball in there. Luckily the fairways are pretty wide so it's a little forgiving if you keep it decently straight. It's a fun course. The beer cart comes around frequently so you can keep a buzz goin ;)

Family restaurant
The Golden Ox Family Diner is an old-fashioned establishment that serves classic American cuisine, including breakfast, amidst a captivating collection of model trains. It has garnered historical significance in Lodi due to its enduring presence and reputation for good food, friendly staff, and affordable prices. The diner offers a pleasant experience every time with its cleanliness and absence of sticky tables or unpleasant odors commonly found in other restaurants. Whether it's breakfast, lunch, or dinner, the food is consistently delicious.
Great diner. Tasty food. You will make this a regular place to eat.

Counter order, very family friendly. We had a 2 year old and infant with us, they came out and helped us with how to order and checked on us frequently. The trains were awesome, the kids loved them!

Was in the area for my son's therapy appointment and wanted to try something local and we found this little gem. Such a cool place with all the trains. My son loved it. Ordered the food up front and picked a seat. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The food was well proportioned and delicious. Will come again next we're in Lodi.

First time here yesterday, had a decent sized portion breakfast and a great service experience here. Everyone working the shift on Sunday were great. I wanna say even the owner/manager walked out in the dinning area to ask how everyone and their meal/service was. Now that’s hospitality. The food was good, pretty neat to view all of the antique model trains there and one of the going around the track above head while you are seated. They have a nice sized menu to choose from. Even for being a location that has been around for many of years, the location was clean EVEN the restroom. I know we will go back. It seemed like a well frequented location.
JonNita W — Google review
When I eat here I feel like I’m eating at my grandparents house as a kid. Awesome, tasty meals with large portions. As you might have seen in other review photos, there are collectible trains EVERYWHERE. Golden Ox seems like something between a regular sit down restaurant and a lunch diner. The outside design of the business doesn’t scream HEY STOP HERE, but it should. Since this is on Highway 12 (Kettleman) it’s a perfect stop if you’re traveling Highway 12 through Lodi. It’s family owned and a long time staple of the city. I will always say yes if someone wants to eat here. Don’t forget to ask the counter employees to activate the special model train that goes around the whole restaurant. 🚂

Ordered food to go. The young girl assisted me with payment, i asked her if there were utensils in the bags already and she politely said “there should be but i can grab you some more” then a hispanic lady that appeared to be the manager or owner came up and asked me if i needed help, i told her i was waiting for utensils she said to “why i already put some in there” and then scolded the young lady for getting me more utensils saying she had already put some in there and always does. It was unnecessary and rude!! Then i get home to see THIS is the size of the pepper to my chile Relleno… what is this?? 2 bites. For $6.50 plus tax this is ridiculous. And had the tiniest bit of cheese to make things worse. I basically paid to eat a few bites of fried egg whites. NEVER COMING BACK!!! I suggest you dont either. El Pazifico, El Maguey, $ Tequileros all have good size portions at fair prices and flavors are amazing!!
Kristina F — Google review
This is the 3rd time coming here and all 3 time food is horrible, meat is burnt , tacos are so oily the plate is just covered in it, no flavors, I thought we give them another chance! Nope they messed it up again, very overpriced, I got a taco salad also and the taco shell is no bigger then your palm of your hand, meat is dry and burnt to the point u can’t even chew it, my dogs wouldn’t even touch it, Angelo’s will be the only place we go from now on, or Taco Bell they have better food, I’d rather pay high prices for good Mexican food then high prices for crappie food, they need a different cook that knows how to make Mexican food, because I don’t think they know what there doing!!!!
Michelle — Google review
Food was flavorless and cold. I've never left a review before but this is is quite literally the worst Mexican food I've ever had. We couldn't Finnish our plates. Service was below subpar. I'm writing this in the restaurant. The best thing on the plate was the obviously canned beans.... I hate leaving a negative review but this was genuinely horrible and disappointing. Everything was bland and tasteless and the tortillas were undercooked. And I kid you not I counted I had 8 flecks of cheese on my plate. The pictures are very misleading.

The food is excellent here. But sometimes I get ignored for a couple minutes at the register. But it still worth it. I usually get the chicken taco lunch which is small but just enough for me.

We stopped by for breakfast this past Saturday! The food isn't the best but it's tolerable. the service is 7 out of 10 The most ridiculous thing is that they charge you a tip. The waiter is supposed to earn the tip with hers service 18% as a tip We will not return to this place again....The tip is earned with your service We own a Mexican restaurant in Southern California and we earn our tips with our service.
