Points of Interest & Landmarks
Surf City Ocean Pier, Inc., also known as Surf City Pier, is a historic and iconic landmark on Topsail Island. Originally constructed in 1948, the pier has withstood multiple reconstructions following hurricane damage, showcasing the community's resilience and commitment to preserving its heritage. Beyond being a popular fishing spot, it serves as a gathering point for both locals and visitors, offering stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean and providing insight into the island's maritime culture.
This was my first time here on Topsail Beach in North Carolina. I was definitely interested in going out onto the pier. But unfortunately this time in May of 2025 the pier was under construction or needed repairs. Looking forward to coming back here and actually walking out on that Pier. The views from the end of the pier look to be amazing

Nice clean pier. Has a friendly staff. The pier is about a 1000 foot. Nice souvenir shop. Parking is $5 an hour, pier fee is $1 to visit to view.
Thomas K — Google review
Very nice and personable owners, a dollar to get out as a "neutral observer" (not fishing). Nice clean store with lots of different things including food. Got my ice refilled in my mug there. Another big advantage with the outrageous parking situation, if you go through there you can pay the dollar, be a customer and park in their lot across the way. Again the owners were very friendly and helpful. It's been so long since I've been to the beach, I was really pleased and enjoyed meeting them.
E.H. B — Google review
Very friendly. Helped me help my sons fish for the first time. Provided guidance and rods. Explained everything well. Shop provides lots of things including drinks, bait, baby wipes. There’s also a gift shop, which is nice.
Hollz W — Google review
Nice beach with lots of waves. Parking was a little difficult and cost $5 per hour or $ 25 for the day. Only a few places to eat along the beach but overall a nice place to go.
Laurie M — Google review
The pier was so much fun. They have a fish cleaning sink making it very easy. The pier grill was great. We tried the burger, hot dog, po boy, and the flounder. Everything was delicious! And don't forget the pier sauce(hot sauce and reach). We liked sitting at the eating table beside the fountain.
Justine S — Google review
Beautiful local long pier with friendly and knowledgeable staff. Pier is clean and very well maintained. Small take out ordering kitchen with simple nice seating out back. Clean bathrooms and a nice, well stocked fishing and sovineer shop. Kudos to the owner and staff.

Taco restaurant
Shaka Taco Surf City is a trendy and modern eatery that specializes in serving delicious tacos, nachos, and wings. Customers can enjoy their food on the outdoor patio while sipping beer or wine. Shaka Taco takes pride in using fresh ingredients to create their mouthwatering dishes. Many people consider it the go-to place for the best tacos in Topsail. The menu includes delectable options such as fish tacos, taco bowls, coconut rice, and Asian slaw.
Super fun beach side taco shop. It has parking and quick service, although it can get busy. I had the Tuna taco and a house pork and both were fantastic. The chips and queso was great! Loved the atmosphere as well.
Brent S — Google review
Pretty tasty food, even though everything had a bit kick to it, which wasn’t ideal for our kiddo. We sat outside, which wasn’t very casual and dog friendly. The staff were very friendly and professional. This place is busy and very popular!
Ilona B — Google review
We try to always get Shaka Taco when we visit Topsail Beach. This year, we ordered takeout for dinner, and it was extremely tasty. Everyone enjoyed their food (mostly bowls); my fish taco was very good, but it came in a distant second to my pork taco, which was spectacular. Ingredients are fresh and compliment their respective proteins. If you order for pick up, you go into the surf shop, so don't stand in line!
Doug G — Google review
We wanted some fresh tacos for lunch! I had the pork and carne asada tacos. Fish, tuna, chicken, and some chicken nachos are also pictured. This place is super tasty and is right off of the beach. It was fresh and light, just what you want at the beach. I 100% recommend this place!
Jeff — Google review
Shrimp tacos are always a go-to option here. There is a reason for the line during peak season because the food is always great. Highly recommend giving this place a try on your next visit to the Island.
Brandon “ — Google review
Very casual and comfortable dining, you order from the window and they bring it to you, you can sit wherever! VERY delicious. I can the steak and shrimp tacos, they were gone before I even noticed. The drinks were good too!! My only qualm, I can’t get the name right. I feel like Shako Taco flows, or even Shaka Taka! The A and O combo messes with me (I’m just being silly, 10/10 recommend this place)
Emily B — Google review
Actual best meal I had in surf city. Tacos were good. Got the shrimp. The quesadilla was also nice. Chicken was top notch but nothing special. The nachos. OMG. Got the veggie nachos add carne asada. The portion was huge, steak was amazing, and that cheese sauce was next to greatness. Atmosphere is also very nice. Fun place to go for sure
Scott M — Google review
Salmon was delicious in a taco or nachos!! Parking is a bit difficult, but the food is well worth it. Knowledgeable about gluten free menu items. PLUS the queso is GF!!

Bar
Buddy's Crab House & Oyster Bar is a casual eatery that offers a variety of seafood, BBQ, and steaks. The restaurant is adorned with dollar bills hanging on the walls, creating a unique ambiance. It has fantastic views of the beach and ocean, providing a serene atmosphere for diners. The staff are friendly and helpful, with servers like Justin and Marissa providing excellent service. One highly recommended dish is their mahi-mahi tacos, which are delicious and flavorful.
Always wonderful, we drove an hour to have dinner here. Fish tacos were amazing, great sized peice fish. My husband tried a soft shelled crab sandwich for the first time, and he said it made no sense how good it was. The coconuts shrimp appetizer was perfect. Drinks hit the spot. Waitress was great, food came fast all around wonderful evening.

Buddy's Crab House was a good place to eat. The food was delicious and flavorful. Coconut shrimp was a great appetizer. The place was packed, and the service was just a tad bit on the slow side but was reasonable with the crowd size. I would recommend to anyone wanting seafood.

Sat for 1 hour. Finally got my food when I realized I got a bun on my burger when I specifically asked for no bun. Music was very loud. Couldn’t hear my friend who was sitting right next to me because of the loudness. It took 30 minutes to even get seated. We came at seven and left at nine. Not to mention that there was the biggest dog that I’ve ever seen that was probably bigger than me walking around WITH NO LEASH. The whole place smelled like smoke because there were literally people SMOKING In the building. The only good thing about the place was the ocean view which you don’t even get if you’re not on the deck. The food was also decent. Could have done much better, though, and they could have at least apologized for the wait. Food definitely not worth the price. There was also a lady stalking us about some kind of bingo thing going on at the bar. It was pretty annoying.
Rachel H — Google review
I enjoyed the place. Overall, the food was decent (maybe not worth the price). The view was gorgeous. Drinks came in a plastic cup, kind of blah but they tasted good. The waitress was friendly and considerate, not as attentive as she should have been.

If I could give this place more than 5 stars I would!!! My husband took me for my birthday today 10/10/25 ❣️ I was so very impressed and it was worth the extra wind we encountered while facing the ocean💓 they have the cutest selfie setup that sends you a free picture with their logo 😉 I just loved it ☺️ DOG FRIENDLY ☺️ sage was our server she was AMAZING 😍

The shrimp tacos and fish tacos are delicious! We had the best view of the pier from the top floor and were able to share it with our dogs. Our server was quick to deliver our drinks and food, and even brought gave water to our dogs! There’s no wait for a table. Check this place out!

Great views of the ocean. Bartender was awesome. Back of house staff is horrendous though. We ordered “mega” mozzarella sticks and coconut shrimp. Shrimp was half batter and half shrimp, the “mega” mozz was the size of a tater tot…and it took 94 minutes to get the two fried appetizers out. No bueno.

Ice cream shop
The Daily Grind Surf City is a down-to-earth coffee shop that offers classic drinks and a variety of treats, including donuts and ice cream. It's more than just a coffee shop, as it also features an adjacent wine bar called unWined. The establishment has a delightful atmosphere with an open patio where patrons can enjoy live music while sipping on their favorite coffees or indulging in sweet treats.
First time in Topsail, and our first morning here we came to Daily Grind. My iced latte was delicious and the croissant sandwich was the chefs kiss, literally 👌🏼👌🏼 loved that we could sit inside outside as well. My husband got the cold brew (said it was delicious) and the sourdough bagel sandwich, also said it was really good. A GREAT compliment because we make sourdough bagels at home that are his favorite. The only thing is the menu is super limited when it comes to food - but that’s okay because the sandwiches are outstanding

The cutest coffee shop! The menu has amazing coffee/drink choices. They get your order out faster to you than Starbucks. Breakfast sandwich and blueberry muffin was great! I would give 10 stars as a coffee lover, this place is so in my top 3! Everyone is friendly and working hard to fulfill your morning coffee orders.

first time coming to surf city and this was the first spot we chose to grab a quick bite. they were super busy since it was a saturday morning, and it’s a beach town. the staff were super friendly and they had lots of items on their menu. they are pricey but that’s something you kind of expect that for being on the beach. i got the ultimate fruit smoothie and it was great. their blueberry bagel was delicious as well.

This place is excellent. The workers are very friendly and prices are very reasonable. We got an iced latte with white chocolate and caramel and a snickers frappé. Also the bacon egg and cheese croissant was wonderful!!

We had an awesome experience at The Daily Grind in Topsail! The coffee was delicious, the staff was friendly and welcoming, and the donuts were out of this world—I would’ve posted a picture, but we ate them too fast! The menu had so many great options, and the whole place had such a fun, relaxed vibe. We also loved browsing their merch—lots of cute and unique finds. Highly recommend stopping in if you’re in the area!

Surf City Jet Ski & Watersports is a highly recommended boat tour agency for friends and family looking to have an unforgettable experience on the water. Their professional and friendly staff prioritizes safety and ensures that everyone has a great time. This place offers breathtaking views, making it the number one choice for both adults and kids. They go above and beyond by taking pictures of families to capture precious memories.
Olivia and Hugh had the best experience with their single kayak rentals! They were able to walk up and get straight into their kayaks and begin their marsh adventure. The logistics were simple and the cost was affordable. Thank you SCJSW!! We’ll definitely be back.

What a flawless operation! I initially booked three jet skis for my family to use on Saturday morning, but I actually meant to book them for Sunday. The young man who called to confirm our Saturday appointment was incredibly kind and understanding, and he immediately switched our reservation to Sunday. When we arrived on Sunday morning, I felt somewhat overwhelmed by all the instructions and safety guidelines, especially since it was my son’s first time riding one on his own. However, after receiving clear instructions and having guides available on the water nearby, I felt much more at ease. The jet skis were beautiful, the parking was easy, the help there was excellent and the area to wait in was so nice and so clean, even their port-a potty was clean!

We recently partnered with Surf City Jet Ski to host our first-ever CEO retreat, and I can confidently say it exceeded every expectation. From start to finish, their team delivered a world-class experience that blended adrenaline, team bonding, and exceptional service. If you’re looking to elevate your next offsite, corporate gathering, or executive retreat, I highly recommend Surf City Jet Ski. They understand how to deliver not just a service, but a standout memory that aligns perfectly with high-performing teams.

Our first time on jet skis and… let’s just say we’re hooked! My three teenage boys were living their best lives out there with huge smiles, lots of ‘Did you see that?!’ moments. Andrew was the MVP, he gave us clear tips, kept checking in, and made sure we didn’t totally embarrass ourselves before we got the hang of it. Once we did, it was full throttle fun with amazing views. 10/10 would do it again (and my boys are already begging for round two)!
Wanda A — Google review
Had so fun, my boyfriend and I went twice in a day on the Jet Ski. The staff is so respectful and cares so much about our safety, our preferences on things and all of the above. They are very easy people to trust. I’ll be back more and more. Thank so much!
Chloe F — Google review
We weren’t able to make a reservation online but we were accommodated regardless. Everyone was helpful and thorough for our safety. The views were nice and had no issues with the jet ski at all. We chose 1hr package and wish we had more time. We will be back and recommend them 100%!!
Saidy S — Google review
This has been our second time jet skiing with this company. The crew is very courteous and goes out of their way to help. The experience is like no other, so much fun! You have to try it!!!!! See you all next year.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I had such an amazing time jet skiing here! The whole experience was smooth from start to finish—easy check-in, friendly staff, and clear instructions. We were even able to purchase phone pouches so we could take some cool pictures! Once I got out on the water, it was incredible. The jet ski was in great condition, fast, and so much fun to ride. The views from the water made it even better. I had an awesome ride and definitely recommend this place if you’re looking for a fun adventure on the water. I’ll absolutely be coming back!

I can't say enough about this place! I had last minute cancelations in my bachelorette party..and Tracey and Jeremy (the owners) accommodated 15 of us for a wine tasting event. Not only did they make this experience one of our trip highlights, but they personalized it just for us, coordinating all within 24 hours. Some of the best people I have met on this earth. Best atmosphere, so welcoming, so comfortable, so fun for us. Thank you thank you. We will definitely be coming back.

It was storming in Surf City the evening our Self Care & Healing Retreat (group of 22 people) planned on meeting at Unwind for an evening of Food, Drinks & Music. Our group had traveled clear across the country to be here & because we planned “all local activities” for the week, Unwind was our 1st stop. The evening of the event Jeremy, Tracey, Mgmt & staff went out of there way to make sure that even with the rain, we were still able to gather at Unwind, to enjoy a local band and have great food too! In fact, the original band that was scheduled to play left & they called and asked Third Act to come & play. They accepted…who goes out of their way to do this?? Unwind & Third Act do! Wow 🤯 This town is so cool. Even though the weather was crazy, we had one hell of a great time with the band, locals that joined us, great food & a staff that was absolutely unbelievable!! In fact, the band was EXCELLENT (Third Act)!! They truly made the 1st evening of our reunion special! If you’re looking for a place to gather with your friends, or family I highly recommend you plan an evening at Unwind. We will never forget it. THANK YOU 🙏❤️‍🔥🙏❣️ Xo, Jess 💋@JessGenix & Trinity Healing Retreats

This place is awesome! They have an amazing wine selection, large patio to enjoy them on, and Jeremy (owner?) is extremely kind. He gave my fiancée and I each a free Pinot noir, crackers, and cheese to enjoy in addition to the wine flights we ordered. Will definitely be back!

If you are visiting Topsail/Surf City this is the place to stop. Great wine, beers, and charcuterie. Always wonderful live music. Staff is beyond terrific. Every time we come to Topsail this is the first place we stop. Lovely coffee / ice cream shop next door. Never been disappointed!!!!
Alexandra S — Google review
I visited Unwined with a few of my colleagues for lunch and some drinks on the weekend. I have mixed feelings about this place. The staff was very nice and helpful, that’s not the issue. The issue is the value for the price. The sandwiches were $13.95 each and were VERY thin. Almost a glorified grilled cheese. The turkey was a thin single layer. The Italian was not much better. The sandwich was not flavorful and was overly buttery. A 10-dollar “glass” of wine was a very light pour. I wish I would have had a way to measure it as it looks like about 4 oz. In other words an ounce short. It was served in a standard plastic wine cup so I can say I am very familiar with what the cup should look like. The Latte I purchased was overpriced and the extras add up at an unreasonable rate. EX. 1.10 extra for almond milk, that’s excessive. The store is somewhat confusing in its layout with one side being ice cream and coffee and the other side being the bar. When entering it is not apparent that you need to order food at the bar. It is interesting to note that while they have a variety of sandwiches etc. they have NO condiments. I asked for some mayonnaise on the side and I was told as they are “not a restaurant” they do not keep any condiments. This is rather odd as they have quite a selection of sandwiches and other items. Overall I would not go back. I would give a 5 star for the staff but only a 2 for the food quality and price. I will give it 3 but only for the outdoor deck with music and friendly staff. Food wise a 2 is all that is warranted, maybe less.

Seafood restaurant
Crab Pot is a lively seafood shack on Topsail Island, known for its festive and casual vibe. The restaurant boasts newspaper-covered tables, karaoke, and live music to entertain its patrons. Despite its small menu, Crab Pot ensures quick table turnovers due to its popularity. Two friendly and professional waitresses cater to the dining area/bar where families can enjoy their meals. The cleanliness of this waterfront bar and grill is commendable, complemented by delightful decorations that enhance the experience.
A nice, quiet, and little quaint restaurant that has fairly easy access considering it's just over the bridge on the island. My wife and I have stopped here a few times with just her and myself and a couple of times with a large group. Kind hip little joint with a fairly easy menu that doesn't overpower you with too many options other than the seafood. From the crab pots to the fish and chips or kids baskets they have all been good. If you stop in, make sure you try the "Crab Pot Punch" drink. It has a good kick to it.

Initially, a group of approximately 10 of us arrived without a reservation and were seated in a timely manner. The server provided exceptional service, and I regret not recalling his name - his distinctive mustache is memorable. The overall vibe was superb, featuring delicious food and drinks. Truthfully, given the last-minute nature of our visit with a large group, the experience was nearly flawless.

Been here twice because my significant other couldn’t get enough of the steamer bucket and hush puppies. There are enough hush puppies for 3 people. Each piece is as large as a donut hole. They are came out nice and hot, a touch greasy but so good. I personally like more cornmeal in mine. I’ll update my review with a picture of them the next time we go. Lol The steamer bucket has a good mix of shrimp, sausage and potatoes. I would like more oysters and clams, though. The picture is of one bucket. The cheesy crab fries were not bad. Fries were crispy. I couldn’t get enough of the sauce. If I order them again, I’ll ask for more sauce. Server and bartender were very attentive and came around frequently enough to top off our drinks and ask if we needed anything else.

I've seen Crab Pot from the road and wondered about it. The friend I was with had been and said it was good. We got hushpuppies and crab balls to start. Holy material! The crab balls were amazing. Get a crab cake or crab balls at this joint. Hushpuppies were good too. I got the oyster Po Boy. It was chocked full of oysters! Slaw was good and on the sweeter side. Beachy vibe and atmosphere for sure. They have inside dining, outside dining and in the bar music and a definite good time. The service was... ok. It was 8 when we got there and the kitchen evidently closes at 9. I felt like we were putting our server out a bit. But... maybe they were having a bad day. It happens. I definitely recommend going without a doubt

Best seafood I've had in the are in a long time. The fried shrimp was deveined, butterflied , fresh off the boat and crispy! Service was fast and friendly. A hidden gem!

We ordered the frogmore stew for two. I had been looking forward to it all day and it did not disappoint. Plenty of food and you could tell it was fresh. The crab and shrimp were our favorites but the oysters and clams were very good as well. We came during the last hour and were the only ones there while the staff cleaned up. Although they stayed busy with closing tasks, our server made a point of checking in with us multiple times. I would definitely return.

Hot Diggity Dog is a popular establishment in Surf City, known for its delectable hot dogs, pulled pork sandwiches, and nachos. The eatery also offers tasty ice cream and treats from a charming street-side hut. With a remarkable sanitation rating of 100.00, it is an excellent choice for a quick lunch. The hot dogs are mouthwatering, as are the fries. Kids especially love the food and enjoy the colorful and fun seating arrangements.
What a great beach joint! Our crew of 6 adults and kids had hot dogs, hamburgers and fries. ALL of it was great! The kid taking orders at the window was friendly and helpful. The food was really good (I like a good dog... and these were good dogs). Found parking right there. Right across from the beach and convenient to most everything in the area. Lots of tables/seating. Wife got a burger and really enjoyed it. Considering the location and convenience, the prices were pretty good. If we're ever back in the area, we'll be back.

Delicious Hotdogs, probably one of the best I’ve had ever. 🌭🍟😩😋🤤👌

Great spot for dogs. Got the surfer dog and the beach dog. Both were great. Service was fast and Camden who served us had a great personality. Dogs are good sized. The jumbos are a big 1/3 pound dog which was amazing. Reasonable priced too. Good stop for a beach dog

The food is great and their people are even better! My husband and I were there last weekend with our 2 yr old and locked ourselves out of our car by accident while all of our belonging were in said car. They gave us VIP treatment while we waited for help and I really appreciated it, specially since we were with a little one. Give it a try if you are in the area, you won’t regret!

Fantastic! Highly recommend the original turtle shake…it’s a different take on the classic chocolate shake. The fellas manning the counter were super friendly and helped recommend some ice cream treats. We even met the owner—Carroll—and he was just the kindest soul you’ll meet. Great treats, good seating area, and great location. Great job to this place!

I was personally very under whelmed by this place, despite having high hopes since their location was very close to our rental. I stopped only once during my vacation there and had a chili dog. It reminded me of something served in elementary school. Cheap wieners with a heavy price tag, mine was $4.50+tax without any fries. Staff was very nice however, the quality of food for the price just wasn't for me.
Drew A — Google review
Pretty great quick lunch. The A 100.00 sanitation rating is astounding. The hot dogs were delicious as were the fries. The kids devoured their food and everyone was happy. The seating is colorful and fun which was also appreciated by the kids. The only real downside is the parking situation which is tight. We ended up just using the pay lot and wandering around town on foot.
Toto ( — Google review
This is basically confession stand food that you might expect at a high school or minor league ball game. The hot dog was fine but it was nothing special. The fries were small, frozen (not hand cut), and had no flavor. The location and atmosphere is great but the food was way overpriced for the quality. I'd be much more ok with this place if the prices were half of what they are, but $10 for a burger, $5 for a dog, and $5 for fries (not to mention no fountain drinks, it's $2.10 for a can of soda) is way overpriced.

Seafood restaurant
Beauchaines 211 is an elegant yet relaxed eatery known for its fresh seafood and contemporary American cuisine. The restaurant offers a charming outdoor deck for diners to enjoy their meals. One of their standout dishes includes the delectable combination of scallops and scampi, served with a light sauce that perfectly complements the generous size of the scallops.
We had a very good experience and the food and service were outstanding! Started with some crab dip which made for a good shareable. The stuffed flounder was well prepared and I loved the cream sauce and green beans/haricot verts. There were 4 of us. The scallop entree was amazing with a large fried rice ball. Another entree was the salmon which was a huge serving, maybe slightly over cooked but very flavorful. The last entree was the shrimp and grits and did not disappoint at all. It was also a large portion. Desserts included the tres leches which was not made in house but wow it’s a great dessert and I loved the little sugar pearls in there. The tiramisù was a little different but great flavor. I think there’s almond extract in there. The brownie dessert was huge and I’m not sure if it’s because my friend doesn’t do dairy and skipped the ice-cream but it’s delicious! There’s parking in the back. Good selection of wines. Go in lower level door and there are 2 levels of dining inside.

Food was excellent! High quality food, prices comparable with presentation, flavor, and overall excellence. Seating was cheap- didn’t match overall atmosphere. Waitstaff was friendly and professional but seemed displaced. This place has more potential than it shows. Atmosphere and staff does not dress the part for the quality of food served. It’s trying too hard to be upscale with a beach theme? Not sure. Worth going to, just has a confusing atmosphere.
Bethanie M — Google review
I am sad to report that this restaurant is no longer what it used to be. I would not recommend to anyone hoping for an upscale experience. Upon arriving we realized how dirty the floor, windows and glasses were and we had multiple flies circling our heads the whole entire dinner. The chicken on our salad was so bad we both spit it out and had to send it back, it was cold, rubbery and not fresh. Don't get me started on the bathroom, it was disgusting. Truly sad, as I used to frequent this restaurant for years in the early 2000's. We left hungry and so disappointed. I think it's either time to close the doors or reconsider the whole operation and deep clean the place and train the chef how to cook. Our waitress was a doll, I will say that, so sweet!

We went here for the first time this evening & I was super happy. We had a beautiful view overlooking the sound. The fried oysters were phenomenal! My husband loved his stuffed flounder & the shrimp and grits were pretty good as well. I really wish the short rib was in stock, I definitely wanted to try that. We will definitely be back! Thank you!

This place is the place to go if you really want some fine casual dining! We had a crew of 11 roll in there and we all had a pretty good time. The restaurant itself was somewhat of a maze, so i didn’t get to see it all. it was, however, so loud that you could only hear half the table. This isn’t the worst thing to have at a restaurant, but there are ways to mitigate this like acoustical panels and things like that. The servers were really great! they seemed very busy and were professionally attentive. Chase kept the bread rolls coming! The food was pretty good, but could have been better for the price. I ordered seared scallop scampi and i really liked it! It was very salty. I nabbed a bite of the lamb dish and that seemed to be very delicious so i would order that next time i go. The prices were really high but luckily i wasn’t paying! Good job to the beauchaines 211 crew! A little bit of improvement can go a long way!
Victor Z — Google review
For the prices charged I thought the tables would have a tablecloth & candle. Didn’t look like fine dining. Our waiter was not too friendly or accommodating. Waited over an hour for our meal. Arrived at 6:30 and never ate till 8:30. Had to ask for salt & pepper & butter. Food was not hot. I would not recommend this place.
Sharon B — Google review
We used to love this place. Granted we haven’t been in 5years, but it had always been our favorite on the island. I wish I had checked the reviews first. They aren’t wrong, the food was super bland. Even additional salt couldn’t fix it. Services was good, though hard not to be when there are only 2 tables of people. I hope they turn it around, was sad to see how bad it has gotten.

Busy. Saturday night suggest do reservations. Fried green tomatoes salad best on island. Flounder crab delicious. Weird that they serve local beer in Ballast Point glasses. I'm cool with that since live in San Diego. Update oct 2023. Family went (8) had reservations. Excellent meals. Good service. The bison meatballs and torillini excellent. A little pricey but we all recommend.

I don't live too far from here so this park has been a great place to get out of the house. There is a good amount of free parking in the area and plenty of benches, picnic tables and a great dock walkway around the park. I've really enjoyed seeing the wildlife and watching people having fun on their boats at this park. There's also a market and live music event that happens from time to time that I enjoyed coming to!

Miniature golf course
Shipwreck Point Golf in Surf City offers two 18-hole mini-golf courses with pirate and oceanic themes. The challenging layout reflects Topsail Island's pirate history, featuring obstacles like waterfalls, rocks, and mini bridges. The tropical island ambiance includes a shipwreck, flags, skulls, and other pirate decorations. Visitors can enjoy the all-ages putt-putt experience while exploring the lovely gift shop for souvenirs.
Fun pirate theme mini golf with two courses to choose from or play both. Lots of pirate statuary, several waterfalls, a shipwreck in the lagoon, and plenty of caves along the course for shade. Nice landscaping, picnic tables in case anyone needs a break, clean bathrooms, and friendly and helpful staff. The gift shop is loaded with Topsail Island treasure, and there are wonderful ice cream shops, restaurants, a distillery, lounges, and wine bar within very close proximity.

Such a fun time for the family! The owner was very friendly & welcoming. Be sure to check their current hours on Facebook before you go. One thing that would make this place better is if they would clean out the trash that people have thrown in the water.

Fun place to enjoy miniature golf with two courses of 18 holes each. Adults are $10 each and kids under 5 are free with a paying adult. Other kids are $9. If you play a second game it is only $4. The man there was friendly and helpful. It was a gray rainy day so no line and we had fun. We hope to visit again another year when we visit!
Jennifer M — Google review
Great 36 hole mini golf course split into two sets of 18. The customer service is top tier. The price is fair for adults and free for children 5 and under. They do offer rain checks. The courses are simple and easy for children. They do sell merchandise and custom golf balls.
Harrison M — Google review
Of course you always have fun when you play putt putt! However, they are in definite need of some maintenance and upkeep! The outdoor carpeting is torn on several of the holes. There are several places where the mulch or filler needs to be replenished. You get to choose what color ball you want to use, and the size of your putter. Then you choose one of two courses that is 18 holes. The lady working the desk was very nice and friendly. I would give it more stars if the course was in better shape. We did have fun, so all in all, it was a nice excursion.
Sondra H — Google review
We mini golf everywhere we go. This was a great time! Two 18 hole courses. 4 adults cost $42 for one round so not the cheapest but still fun. Here in the off season so it wasn’t congested, which was nice! Can’t give a full 5 stars as the course can use some repair. Also the water features needed to be cleaned and refilled. I personally didn’t like the colored water but that’s okay. It would also be nice if the gift shop had locally made items and not imported stuff but I guess that’s mainly what you get around here.

The center offers opportunities to meet sea turtles and learn about the various factors affecting marine life health.
Can't say enough good things about the turtle rescue. The staff is super friendly and super helpful. The tour is extremely informative and has a great mixture of knowledge and turtle views. Great for kids and adults. Even cooler. The day before we called after spotting an injured turtle and they came to Kalmia's rescue in a flash. The turtle is doing much better and likely wouldn't have made it otherwise. Thanks for all you do!

We had the best experience! Karen our guide was so informative and knowledgeable and really helped us learn more about all the work they do! The experience of a lifetime! It was amazing to see the sea turtles and learn about all the important work the volunteers do to keep the oceans safe for wildlife. The staff were well educated and eager to answer any questions. They do such important work. The best part was seeing the sea turtles and getting to learn facts about each of them, like their favorite snacks. They are so cute, and it was fun learning about the various types of sea turtles that they rescue. Would definitely recommend this experience if in the area!

We’ve been coming to the Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Hospital for years, and it’s truly one of my favorite places to visit. The work they do is incredible, and you can feel the passion and dedication from the staff and volunteers the moment you walk in. This time, we brought our 1-year-old for his first visit, and he had such a great time too—lots to see and enjoy even for little ones! The tour is always inspiring, educational, and heartwarming. It’s a must-visit if you’re in the Topsail area. We love supporting this amazing mission and seeing the turtles heal and thrive!

Nestled in the heart of Surf City, Salty Turtle Beer Company is a delightful haven for craft beer aficionados. Founded by three passionate beer lovers, this charming brewery not only serves up an impressive selection of brews but also gives back to the community by supporting the Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Center with a portion of their profits.
Came to Surf City for a day while on vacation and came across this place. I’m not a beer drinker, but my husband is and we decided to stop and I’m glad we did. The decor/atmosphere is out of this world. Everyone was so welcoming and nice. My husband found a few beers he really enjoyed and we bought some to bring it home to share with friends. As I said, I am not a beer drinker, but their ciders and seltzers were really good! Highly recommend the mango pineapple. Blackberry is good too! We also bought some merchandise and I can’t wait to wear the shirts! This place also donates some of their money to save the turtles and that’s another reason why I like them! If you are in the area, I highly recommend to check it out.

We had a great experience at Salty Turtle! We were in town visiting friends for a long weekend and ended up coming here a few times because the location was great, the beer was good, and there were food options nearby too. The bartenders were very friendly. The beer was great. One day that we were there, there was a good truck, and you can also get food from the (very good) burger place next door. The atmosphere is cool - there's a bar top you can sit at, or some tables inside, and then they have a nice patio area outside as well as a wrap around porch of sorts with tables to sit at. Very cool place to hang out, family friendly!

We've been meaning to visit Salty Turtle for a long time, but the crowds or family plans have always prevented it. We finally got there today, and could not have been more happy with this cool Coastal brewery. There are a good variety of beers to choose from. Flights include 4 beers; my favorites were the Coastline and Highway 50 (a sour), but all 4 were good. For non-beer drinkers such as my wife, they offer quite a few (5+) different kinds of wine. Service was friendly and knowledgeable, and the restrooms were clean and had vacant/occupied signs built into the handles. Merchandise was good-looking, with lots of nice shirts and glassware. It's a great brewery that we'll certainly visit again.

Gift shop
Topsail Island Trading Company is a must-visit spot in Surf City, offering an extensive selection of diverse items such as jewelry, clothing, decor, wind chimes, and toys. Visitors can also indulge in delicious fudge with generous samples for tasting. The friendly staff adds to the welcoming atmosphere of this popular gift shop. We were at Emerald Isle visiting which is about an hour and a half when we came across an ad for this place with permanent jewelry. We drove the distance and was not disappointed. The entire store was filled with so many goodies other than the permanent jewelry; between clothes, sweet treats, decor and other knickknacks. The employees were super nice and welcoming and explained everything to us. We easily spent over an hour just browsing and purchasing our goods. Absolutely loved this place and will be back to acquire more lovely items in the future.

My fiance and I were visiting Topsail for the first time and stopped by this store based on the great reviews. He made a b-line straight to the fudge and left with a pound of four flavors. I didn’t think I was a big fan of fudge but after trying his we stopped on the way out of town so I could get my own pound. It is fantastic!! The store has so many beautiful items and the employees are friendly. Definitely a must visit if you're in the area!

Best fudge I’ve ever had. They sell around 15-20 flavors, the ones I tried were smooth, fresh, and had the right level of sweetness. The flavors are traditional and unique, chocolate with peanut butter swirl, turtle, Mexican chocolate, pistachio, “Dubai” which is a blend of chocolate and pistachio, raspberry, cherry with chocolate, plus many, many more.

We enjoyed a wonderful week and a half on Topsail Island. And we frequented the Trading Company quite a few times. Their store is very inviting and have quite a selection of quality items to choose from. Their customer service adds testament to their very high business rating and they helped us out immensely in ordering additional merchandise over the phone after we got home. Well done!

I’ve been coming here for 50 yrs. I bought 3 lbs. of my favorite fudge, Cherry Nut Cheesecake, to take home. When I got home and opened the fudge, I was shocked. It was not the same. It was dark and sour-tasting and clearly not the same Cherry Nut Cheesecake that I had bought in the past. I dropped the Fudge Master a note on their website, letting him know of my disappointment and that I was wasting $50+ on fudge that I did not want. He explained that they had to change the recipe-for good reason. He is shipping me another one of my favorites to make up for the Revised Cherry Nut Cheesecake. He didn’t have to do that and I am very grateful. If you go to Topsail Island, you must visit this store and try their fudge. Not only is the fudge amazing but they treat you right!
Sandy P — Google review
Super pleasant staff! Delicious fudge with free sampling. Fudge card given and punched for each pound or more purchased to eventually lead to a free pound. Other merchandise is nice and there is so much to look at!

DO NOT ORDER FROM THE WEBSITE!! I ordered fudge delivered to my house. When I got a confirmation email that it was delivered the photo clearly shows that it is at the wrong address!! I tell them about the error and the fact that I haven't been able to recover my package all I get as reply is that it isn't there fault or problem but I can buy more fudge if I want for a little discount. Why would I throw more of my money away when I didn't get what I paid for already?!?!

Surf City Family Campground is a fantastic spot just seconds away from the beach, making it perfect for beach lovers. The public bathrooms and showers are well-maintained, and the campground offers various amenities at reasonable prices. It's advisable to make reservations in advance due to high demand. The family-oriented atmosphere ensures a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone, especially children. Despite being close to urban tourist areas, the campground maintains a peaceful environment, particularly during weekdays.
Top notch location. This is EXACTLY what we were looking for as a great overnight stop on our east coast roadtrip. Extremely reasonable rates, very friendly staff, and RIGHT ON A GORGEOUS BEACH 😍😍😍 bathrooms were plentiful and clean. Sites were normally spaced if not slightly closer to each other than normal but we just stopped mid week and there was a lot of empty space. Mostly adults but I did see one family tent camping with small children. Lots of dogs. There is a little store and ice available. Lots of food and drink options in the area. No pool or frills but you're right on the beach which is exactly what we were looking for. Thank you for a great stay, we look forward to returning in the future!!!

This is the first 5 star review I ever wrote where the facilities are a bit "rustic" (emphasis on rust), bad internet, close enough to hear your neighbors breath....but amazing location, next to the beach, nice people, family run, good price. Coastal Wing and Spirits, situated on the mainland just across the bridge, is a well-regarded eatery known for their delicious crispy wings. These delectable bites are perfectly seasoned and go hand in hand with a refreshing light beer. Additionally, Coastals offers other mouthwatering options such as Crispy Smoked Pork Belly and Angus Burgers which are immensely popular among customers.
Working our way down the margarita list! 🤣 Wings are delicious, fries are tasty, and service is so friendly. Also has a kids menu with boneless wings, which was much appreciated. Lots of TVs to keep you entertained with sporting events. Indoor and outdoor seating available.

I've come here several times both with a group and by myself and every time has been a nice experience. It's a nice lively location with indoor, outdoor and bar seating. I've tried several of their menu items and house cocktails and they are always tasty regardless of if you're having an appetizer, sandwich or their wings. This has become a regular stop for me and I'd recommend it be for anyone in the area craving nice wing and a good drink with kind and quick service!

Delicious food! We got traditional and boneless wings, fish and chips and Mac and cheese as well as loaded tots. The tots were amazing and crispy. The wings were big, well cooked and evenly sauceed. Fish and chips were bomb! The Mac and cheese was not very good. Wouldn't recommend trying it. The place was busy the night we went so we did wait a while for the server to return with drink refills and the check. Small things like that. But otherwise definitely worth checking out! I didn't think the price was too bad either. Roughly $80 for 4 people. No alcoholic drinks ordered

Local Here! We love Coastal Wings! Their Korean Thai Chili wing sauce is amazing! We also love their ribs! We’ve always had great service - whether dining in or carrying out! Highly recommend!

Food was good, but the portion size was shockingly small. Ordered Hot Honey Shrimp to go... Although the waitress was warm and welcoming, it was a miniscule amount of food compared to the price. I still gave a tip on top of the takeout charge.

Got ribs and fries. The food was fine. We ordered to go because we had the dogs in the car. The online ordering was not available. So we went to restaurant to wait for it. Got charged more than the online menu said and a $2 "take out fee". Crazy!! There were hardly no customers dining and the one who took the order felt like I was bothering her. She said 15 min wait. That's fine. 15 mins go by. Oh they're working on a new system and they are just now starting the order. Great! 15 more mins. Not worth the $37 for 2 ribs meals that's for sure!

First time there this evening. Ordered fish 'n chips. Great vibe, great service, great fries. Unfortunately, I wish I had known the fish came out in strips as opposed to one large piece. In full disclosure, had I known this I would not have asked for extra crispy because I felt all I got was a lot of very, very crispy batter with little fish. One full piece of fish would have been so much better. Having said that, my husband loved his burger & fries. Please don't consider this a negative review, just a heads up about how the fish is served.
Margaret J — Google review
We had take out Barbecue Wings and Thai Chilly Wings plus an order of barbecue ribs. Served hot and best wings I’ve ever had. Ribs were very good too. Employees are very friendly. The inside of the restaurant look is warm in inviting.

SurfDog Bites and Brews is a relaxed dining spot in a shopping center that offers classic American comfort foods like burgers, wings, and hot dogs. Situated by the beach, it provides a perfect setting to enjoy their menu which includes salads, sandwiches, bowls, and highly acclaimed hot dogs. They also serve burgers named after various attractions and cities. Many patrons take pleasure in savoring their delicious meals while sipping on ice-cold beer.
The place is nice and quaint, and there is actually a good bit of seating; a few tables, a bar, and outside seating. Gary was so awesome and the food was delicious!

Surf Dogs was once a great place for a good meal. Seems it does not have its former glory. Fried Chicken sandwich was marginal, with wilted lettuce and tomato that probably should not have been served, strike one. The slaw like came out of a large commercial tub and was a finely minced mush- strike two. The waiter barely greeted us, no personality and did not even say thank you. Strike three…ya’ll are out. There are many choices both on and off the island, and the list just got smaller - recommendation - don’t bother.

I got the mahi fish sandwich and the kids got the burger kids meal. It was pretty good. The fries were very good. The mahi sandwich was good it was just pretty wet so the bun was a pile of mush by the time I ate it. Very good flavor though. The staff was super friendly and polite. I would definitely visit again

Both had hot dogs 🌭. Service was excellent and quick. I had the Boxer hotdog it was great.

Ok, probably the most honest review you will get. Food: Surf city burger was excellent, chicken tenders were good, the bird hot dog disgusting, plane hot dog disgusting and the chicken dip was gross. Service: 5 employees and nobody asked to take our orders, and a person at the bar pointed us in the right direction. I guess they want to stand around and talk instead of doing their jobs. Everything is self serve nobody waits on you. Atmosphere: it stunk, but the outside sitting was nice. Family of 4 with 1 appetizer $82, and then my wife left a $10 for them to do absolutely nothing. We've been coming to topsail for 3 years now and decided to give it a try... Won't be back.

We chose to eat here based on their amazing reviews and the variety on the menu. We got there as soon as they opened and was greeted immediately by the attentive staff. They were patient while we looked over the menu to decide what we wanted. I went with the special, which was the “Not so Cajun shrimp” over rice with a green beans. I'm so glad I did because it did not disappoint! It was loaded with flavor from the sauce to the rice to the green beans. Highly recommend!!

Came here for dinner with some friends. Their fried chicken sandwich was one of the best chicken sandwiches I’ve ever had. Cooked to perfection and perfectly tender and juicy. Their bacon cheese fries were a very generous portion so plan on sharing them! The staff was extremely friendly and patient as we didn’t realize they closed 15 minutes after we arrived. They did not rush us and gave us plenty of time!

Baba's Mediterranean Grill is a delightful eatery that offers mouthwatering dishes with a Mediterranean flair. Customers can enjoy delectable options like chicken kabob over salad or a flavorful platter. The portions are generous, and the flavors are on point, making it an excellent choice for those seeking a fresh meal to take to the beach. Additionally, their baklava is so delicious that one may even forget to snap a photo of it.
Came here during a quiet time of day with my crew…my kids had never loved Mediterranean food before but they loved this place. The man who took our order got everything correct and left out the things my kids didn’t want. They were friendly, the food was fresh, and it looks like a family business. The fish was very crispy and fresh and so was the rest of the food. The wraps are very large and filling. When we left, my kids said, “give them 5 stars!!!”…so I did :)
Crystal B — Google review
Way overpriced for what you get. $ 16.00 for a sandwich !!!! Sandwich was good but not for the price. If they offer a side or something it would have been ok..however a pita wrap for $ 16 is a NO..plus a drink and tip !! I will try it again and give them a chance to make a loyal customer
Eyad A — Google review
The first time we tried Babas, the food was delicious and generous amounts. This time we felt ripped off. For $14.55 each we got a pile of white bland rice, an iceberg lettuce salad that looked like a garnish, gyro & grape leaves were okay, but no dressings or tzatziki sauce unless we ordered it as a side. We should’ve gone to a nicer place. It was a waste of money & a disappointment. The picture is just a partial serving.
Jeannine P — Google review
YUMM. Recently popped in and took an ordered to go (chicken Kabob over salad). The portions were very generous and the flavors were spot on. Great option for a fresh meal to take to the beach! We also enjoyed the Baklava so much we forgot to get a photo

Delicious! Ordered the Vegan wrap, Choban Salad, Beef Kabob Wrap, Dolma Stuffed Grapes Leaves, and Pistachio baklava. Everything was so good. Take-out wait time was less than 10 minutes. We will definitely be going back!
Carol C — Google review
We were so excited about a Mediterranean diner!! We love this style of food. Unfortunately, it wasn’t good at all. My brother-in-a ordered the gyro platter and he said the gyro meat was bland. My chicken gyro sandwich was not even real chicken. It was pressed meat. And we love Baba ghanoush and with it being in the name we were hopeful! But it was thin (like they watered it down) and not much flavor. To top it off- they didn’t give us any bread with it! We didn’t find that out until we had waited 15 mins for our food and sat down. We went back in because we thought they forgot. Nope. You have to purchase it separately. We had already tasted it. It wasn’t worth the extra money. For my husband and I it was $40. Save your money. Not worth it.
Tracy E — Google review
This place did not disappoint. The portion size was big and all the food tasted really good. I had the gyro plate with hummus and stuffed grape leaves. I think this place may have gotten a bad wrap when they first opened. But it seems like they listened and corrected some things.

We went here for Thanksgiving lunch and I can't say enough good things about the service and food. I had the Iskender Kabob and it was super good with a great portion. Very authentic Mediterranean food. My wife had the chicken shawarma and she was thrilled with her food also.

Pizza restaurant
Max's Pizza is a quaint and charming eatery located in Surf City. Known for their delectable pizzas, subs, burgers, and sandwiches, this establishment also offers a limited selection of beer and wine. The picturesque setting of crashing waves adds to the delightful memories created while enjoying a slice of their pizza. Families particularly adore Max's Pizza due to their homemade dough and unique combination of cheeses. Additionally, the restaurant caters to those with allergens by offering gluten-free pizzas.
We had never tried Max's Pizza until today. We arrived about 1145am, we were greeted immediately, seated at a booth as we requested, and we met Jessica our amazing waitress. Kind, courteous, and quick ! We ordered our drinks, and garlic cheese bread as a starter. It was 10/10 hot, fresh and delicious ! Our pies were cheese, and a pepperoni, we asked for light sauce, and a crispier crust. It was done perfectly 👌. Our pies were delicious, excellent sauce ! Jessica made sure we had everything we needed, during our visit, she was awesome. The bill was about $50, which I consider a bargain for good food and a family of four. I read the reviews for the restaurant before we came, and while everyone is entitled to their opinion, some of them are just malicious. A pizza place, at the beach, is going to be super busy, expect some wait time. An overwhelmed restaurant at peak time, might make a mistake, be patient and kind. This pizza parlor is a hit, and we highly recommend you give it a try !

Enjoying Max's Pizza (Pepperoni Pizza) since the 1980s, and now I get to share this iconic Surf City restaurant with my family. 😊 🍕 Back in the day, Max's was one of just a couple of restaurants on the island. As a boy, it was such a treat to enjoy a slice of Max's Pepperoni Pizza after fishing for the day with my family on the Surf City pier. Your server would bring the pizza to the table and the cheese was so molten-hot that it would nearly scald your mouth, but it is so good you couldn't wait for it to cool down or stop eating it. So, so good! Love Max's. Drove down from Topsail to take my family there. Brings back a lot of nostalgia and NC pride to eat there. (Let me know when you start selling Max's T-shirts because I would gladly buy one).
Dusty C — Google review
I definitely do not mind the 5 1/2 hour drive from Hickory to get this pizza. I don't think I have ever had pizza this good. Trust when you ask for extra cheese omg you GET extra cheese.
Allan M — Google review
I’ve heard great things about the pizza here, and I’m sure it lives up to the hype—but unfortunately, we didn’t try it on this visit. Instead, we ordered a Chef salad and the Chicken Alfredo, and both were disappointing. The Chef salad was underwhelming: mostly shredded lettuce with just a couple slices of onion and green pepper. On top sat a rolled-up bundle of cheese, salami, and ham—more like something from a deli tray than a thoughtfully prepared salad. The Chicken Alfredo, priced at $22, also fell short. The noodles were slimy, and the chicken didn’t taste fresh. It definitely didn’t feel like a dish worth that price. To add to the less-than-ideal dining experience, there was a loud banging sound throughout our meal. When we asked about it, we were told it was the kitchen staff preparing for the next day by banging frozen meat on a metal table—an odd and disruptive choice with customers still dining. The bright spot of our visit was the service. Our server was sweet, attentive, and made the best of the situation. If the pizza is truly as good as people say, then I’d recommend sticking to that. We might return someday to try it, but based on this experience, we’d pass on the rest of the menu.

We went and ate at Max's pizza twice while we were on topsail for vacation, first night there. We ordered takeout, it was hands down, the best pizza we've ever had from down there, their cheese and pepperoni pizzas, are to die for!! Lol then the day before we left, me and my wife went there to dine-in, just us two, food was decent then too, we ordered cheese sticks and a Max's style pizza, (the works) I enjoyed it and so did my wife, but afterward we were both severely sick for a couple days, not 100% if it was this place or what, but just to note. Other than that it was a great place, little too crowded and noisy for us. But service was great, overall I'd go back, as long as I knew it was this place that made us sick!
M C — Google review
Went to Max’s Pizza on 7/23 for dinner. We walked right in with no wait. Friendly staff and they were very helpful also. The wait time for food is expected since pizza takes longer to cook. Very delicious and worth the wait. The noise was a bit much considering there are many large groups inside which is expected of a pizza place. Overall great and I would recommend if you are in Surf City and are looking for a bite to eat.
Joshua H — Google review
We stopped in on Sunday evening in April. It wasn’t too crowded and we got a table right away. The space has a mix of tables and booths. Our server was friendly. We ordered the garlic cheese curds, two pizzas and an Italian sub for the table. The cheese curds were lightly breaded and served with warm marinara sauce. Both pizzas were very good and had generous amounts of toppings. I wasn’t sure about the Italian sub as it came with a runny/watery sauce on it, but it was very tasty. We will definitely be back.

Our waitress Jess was great . She was kind , helpful and on top of everything, excellent service . There was no wait , however be advised they close at 7 on sundays despite google here saying they close at 8. Alas however I absolutely can not recommend eating here . I got a sub and my friend the spaghetti . The quality of food is just beyond subpar , the meats in the sub were truly low grade and the spaghetti was just watery and poorly cooked . The salad was brown , with crackers in bags for croutons . Pretty tough to justify a 14 dollar sub . The garlic bread was definitely the best part of the meal.

Topsail Beach Service is your go-to for an unforgettable beach experience, whether you're seeking relaxation or adventure. Picture yourself sinking your toes into the soft sand while enjoying the stunning views of crystal-clear waters and a gentle breeze. This service offers everything from kayaks to fishing gear, ensuring you have all you need for a perfect day at the beach. Families rave about their exceptional customer service, with many sharing stories of how Topsail Beach Service went above and beyond to meet their needs.
We arrived at our cottage on a busy Saturday evening in July to find no beach chairs or sun shade. Topsail Island Beach Service found a shibumi for us and saved the day (despite our poor planning). When the shibumi ripped later in the week, they sent over another sun shade that evening. Outstanding customer service. Super efficient and nicer than they need to be. Contactless delivery and pickup. Could not be better. Highly recommend.
Yael G — Google review
The pricing, service, and quality of the product from this company were less than stellar. I rented an umbrella and 2 chairs for 5 days, and it was $220+. Which first off was the most I've paid (by double) in 5 years. But I knew I was limited in my choices due to my location, so I proceeded. I anticipated the quality and convenience would support the cost...NOPE! The chairs were very old, weak, and rough wood (splinters) and did not operate well. Additionally, our umbrella was placed in the worst location daily, up close to the dune, so that all our shade was on the dune where we could not take advantage of it. Even after calling, texting, and talking to staff multiple times, it was still placed near the dune each day. It wasn't until our last day (a day full of rain) that we had a decent placement. Upon return to Topsail Beach, I will NOT use this company again. I did NOT get anywhere close to the value for the price!!! VERY DISAPPOINTING.

If I could give more than 5 stars I would. We had family in for a vacation and rented a beach wheel chair for the week. Absolutely hands down, from all the questions I had answered to accidentally booking the wrong week , to amazing customer service I applaud this company. The delivery guys came on time, very friendly, and made a great delivery. They picked the chair up early due to Debby and some family needed to leave a day early. Hands down if anyone needs rental supplies call them. You won't be sorry . Ty all so much for helping our family vacation be even better.

Park
Nelva R. Albury Recreation Area is a fantastic spot for families to enjoy a day out. The area offers public beach access, a playground with equipment suitable for both younger and older kids, swings, and interactive play features. Visitors can also make use of the restrooms, outdoor showers, and ample seating areas with picnic tables for meals or snacks. Additionally, the park provides free parking in designated spots. It's an ideal place to spend quality time with family while maintaining social distance.
We had a wonderful time sharing a meal together and spending mimi and papa time together with the grandchildren. This is a nice park to play at. Plenty of tables and benches spread out so families can share time together and still socially distance from others.
Betty S — Google review
Super cute park for my little one. The playground had lots of interactive things for him, and he loved the slide. The only downside was the rust—seemed like it needed some updates because of a few areas definitely unsafe.
Amber W — Google review
We had a great time at this playground! There is a climber/slide for younger kids and one for older kids, swings (including a mommy & me swing) and a "challenge" area where kids can climb a rope wall and complete other fitness challenges. The ground is woodchips which is much better than the sand you find at other playgrounds. All new equipment with lots of great play features, clean, lots of places to sit and small picnic tables for lunch or snack. Its right next to a parking lot and bathroom. My almost 2 year old had a blast and had no problem maneuvering around the smaller climber and playground. The older kids there were having a lot of fun too. Very nice playground and will be going back!

Very nice parking area and easy access to the beach, but it does have a lot of stairs, so it's not convenient to take a beach wagon.

This park is great. It has a swing for a 5-12 year old that cannot or will not use a standard swing. Interactive wheel kids can spin and pretend. Great slides to enjoy for older kids and younger kids. Free parking for the park is available in designated spots only. The only downside to this park is there are no fences to stop kids from darting into traffic.

Great small town store for some great quality items. Be prepared to spend some money if you like nice items. But you know these products last. They have many items from shoes to clothes, baskets, bags, hats, lotions, jewelry, ECT. Check them out. Great helpers. I'm giving 4 stars only because prices are so expensive. Otherwise it would be a 5. I like to find good deals. Didn't see any when I came. But who knows they may have some again.

Warm, friendly, welcoming group of people. Pastor preached Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior! 4 services available. They have a coffee/tea and snack bar for gathering and being together. Highly recommend!

We moved here from New York and spent months testing to find our church family. We visited the Gathering and at first I wasn’t sure about going to a baptist church as some baptist churches ignore the Holy Spirit. Not here!!! This church is so balanced. Bobby is living Christ and has a passion to get everyone to join him. We are diving deep into the book of Romans. Bobby explains the text and gives us many ways to apply it to our lives. The morning worship is just that. The music is top notch but every member of the team is focused on worshipping God. This church is full of love and people are very kind and friendly. With five Sunday morning services, there is a place for you!

The pastorale group is amazing and the people are welcoming. Location is prime. I think it would be a great idea to hold some AA or Al-Anon meetings here. I think it could, not only, service the community in a way it currently isn't and be a beacon to those who need it most but also humble those in the congregation that have been sheltered and give them a new perspective on things!

I just moved here from WA state. Everyone is always so nice and welcoming even though I look a bit different. I have tattoos and piercings and I wear a lot of black but it never seems to matter. Pastor Bobby always stops by and shakes my hand when he sees me in the back. I really like the message on Sundays and the study that they are doing in Hebrews is extensive and very insightful especially in my current walk of faith. Worship is great and the team they have up front gives special attention to the atmosphere during praise that makes it thrum in your chest & prickle your skin when they sing. 10/10 if I could give more stars I would.

My husband and I absolutely love this place! We felt like part of the community the minute we walked in! Everyone is so hospitable and there are so many ways to become involved. We are very thankful for our new church family. 100% would recommend this church! Pastor Bobby Owings is very personable, has awesome sermons, and is also super funny! Definitely give this church a shot!

Topsail Escape Room in Surf City is a premier escape adventure destination that caters to diverse groups, such as families, friends, and colleagues. This unique amusement center offers both indoor and outdoor escapades, providing options for every team and skill level. With elaborate, captivating, and challenging rooms, participants will have an exciting experience trying to crack the codes.
My family and I were visiting Surf City for the week, and we love escape rooms so we decided to check out this place which was 3min from our rental. First we did the scavenger hunt which had fun puzzles throughout the town, but the 1.5 mile walk on a hot summer day was uncomfortable. We had a golf cart which made it more tolerable. However the busy traffic made it unrecommended for children. This would be great for a cool day without tourists or kids, and maybe with a golf cart. It took us almost three hours to complete. The concept was a lot of fun even though our conditions were unfavorable. The next day we came back for Ocean’s Call and loved it so much, we immediately booked Beach House Breakout. Both of these rooms had well designed challenging puzzles, direct linear flow, great props, and some hidden chambers. There were five of us, and we couldn’t decide which room we liked better. My family has solved many rooms together in other cities, and we were able to solve both of these with about 10min to spare. I highly recommend either room. They provided a challenging and entertaining time with my family. Special thanks to the owner for squeezing us in to do the second room. We had a blast!

Have gone two years in a row. Love having something to do on the island. I like that they change the rooms ups. Kind of small for a big group to go.
Kyla R — Google review
We had an absolute blast! We were warmly welcomed by the staff. Starting process was really well organized. We were two people for Ocean’s Call. It was definitely challenging but mentally super stimulating, really great puzzles to solve! We will be back! For a little town like Surf City, this definitely a gem escape room. Highly recommend!
Marine B — Google review
We did both rooms they have currently open and had a lot of fun. One was a movie theater theme and one was a sunken submarine. We have done a lot of different escape rooms and definitely liked the movie theater one better but they were both good. Took us about 45min in the actual room but plan on being there an hour.
Deborah K — Google review
Was great fun. Took my mother in law, sister in law, wife and 5 kids from 4-15... We all got to participate, and were able to make it out with like 22 seconds to spare! Highly Recomend it
Joseph D — Google review
Having never done one of these before I scoffed and rolled my eyes at 28$/person. We went for my sons amusement and soon found ourself fully immersed and super into the room! Secrets and puzzles and clues abound! It was exhilarating!!! We beat the room and escaped with a few minutes to spare and only needed 1 hint (was told this was impressive especially for first timers 😂). We are already booking again for the harder room, absolutely worth every penny! Thanks for the thrills and great memories guys
Hollz W — Google review
Our family has been to this establishment three times. The latest room was a disappointment. A few items in the rooms didn’t work as they should have causing extra confusion and lost time. For the money you spend for this type of experience I recommend taking the extra time to travel to Jacksonville or Wilmington. Both have a much higher caliber of play with some really great rooms and are well worth the money. Staff here was less friendly. Overall not an experience I would recommend nor one we will return to.
Becky C — Google review
This was an excellent experience. Small, yet challenging. We had five on our team and all had done multiple rooms at other locations before, and we only made it out with 24 seconds to spare. Also, great customer service. I was travelling with a large group and had to reschedule my reservation twice and they promptly refunded my card, no problem. Also, the woman at the front desk gave us some great recommendations of places to eat and walk around the island.

BumbleBee Market is a fantastic store where you can find both Disney charms and sophisticated mugs for adults. It offers an extensive range of adorable household items, unique toys, racially inclusive stationary, and other refreshing products. The clothing selection is impressive, and they have plenty of trinkets to browse through. The employees are exceptionally patient and friendly with shoppers of all ages.
This cute little shop is perfect for those who love to get gifts for themselves or others. You can find so much and it's packed in. Plan a good 30+ min. if you like to take your time. They have everything from chocolates, books, holiday gifts, clothing, hats, toys, shoes, frames, ceramics, jewelry, and so much more. Julie and Becky were so kind and helpful. They will take the time to chat with you and help in any way they can. There are sales so check out the website. Teachers get discounts so make sure you mention that if you are. We had to get some of the pumpkin caramels because they are so good and only seasonal. You need to try them. Head in and enjoy your visit. It's worth it.

My personal 'must go' shopping shop. The owner is great and has helpful suggestions on things that might look good on you. She has a good eye for dressing/styling. I love to check out their jewelry and dresses. My teenage daughter and her friends also LOVE this place. They have everything : clothes, natural life brand, Vera bags, cool journals, jewelry, kids toys & books, seasonal decorating, hats, and even a chocolate and candy counter. A relaxing cute place to get a gift for you or a friend. Enjoy! And they usually have at least a small section of clearance items in the back.

Such an adorable shop! They carry Natural Life, Blue Q, Vera Bradley, and a bunch of other hard to find and boutique brands. The ladies were very friendly and helpful. Check it out!

Super cute shop that I would’ve totally driven past had it not been for my friend taking me here. Think Vera Bradley, Rifle Paper Co aesthetic. Cute but sophisticated. Definitely stop by here and check it out for some retail therapy.

Such a cute shop with lots of great and unique items! Great customer service and overall just a great shopping experience.
Kate — Google review
Cute stuff. I honestly wouldn't have even have felt the need to leave a review if the staff wasn't following us around the store. There's signs all over the store about being on camera, fine I don't care. What annoys me is when you can't shop bc there is constantly employees coming up to you while ur trying to shop, or offering to hold your items (I was holding 2). The last straw for me was when I was checking out, I heard the door bell go off signaling that someone was coming in, and the girl behind the counter immediately tells another coworker to go walk the floor. I feel like she was telling her to go follow the person who just walked in the store, who just happened to be my daughter walking in.

Known for its extensive selection of surfboards, skateboards, and an array of stylish apparel and accessories, this shop has something for everyone. Visitors often rave about the friendly and knowledgeable staff who are always eager to assist with any inquiries or product selections.
Awesome place! Go here every time I go to the area. I was looking for a pair of rainbow men's sandals, we called everywhere, they had the exact ones i wanted in my size. They were super helpful, cheaper than the other places around that had rainbows. Awesome place! I love coming here every time I'm in town!!
Terry M — Google review
The owner is not chill, didn’t let me know about the “no return” policy on gloves, I used them for five minutes (still in perfect condition hand not even touched sand) because I got measured out for a medium and they gave me a large so they were too big, and when I got back to point out the mistake they had no leniency even though it was their fault for selling the wrong product. the worker kids were cool but whoever the big manager with the glasses is has no sense of tact, poise, or business, definitely a kook. Go to 50 south it’s super close and way better leadership

Bought my board from here a few weeks ago and they helped pick out the right board for me with no hesitation. All the employees are very kind and knowledgeable. I've never asked a question that they couldn't answer. This will forever be the place I buy my boards. Not only is every board beautiful in design and color schemes, but every single board has it's own unique charcterics.

My friend comes Surf City, Topsail Island North Carolina yearly with his family. He shared this spot as a great place to stop and eat. There were 7 adults in our group. The service was super friendly, Wonderful experience and atmosphere. I'm sure this place gets packed during the summer, we visited here the 1st week of May so we had a more laid back and not so congested time. Absolutely would recommend stopping here if you're staying on the island or just passing through.

This is "must visit" spot for our annual trips to Topsail. Service is always great and prices are very reasonable. My personal favorite is the cheeseburger, delight style. Perfect place to grab lunch or ice cream. It gets busy!
Melissa D — Google review
My family ate here yesterday and let me say this place is a hidden gem for anyone craving great burgers and ice cream. The burger was juicy, perfectly seasoned, and cooked just right, with fresh toppings and a soft, toasted bun. And don’t even get me started on the ice cream — super creamy with a great variety of flavors. You can tell they really care about quality here. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the service was fast. It’s the kind of spot you’ll want to come back to again and again. We did have a large group but they handled us well AND showed us the extra parking in the back!! Highly recommend!

Delicious burgers! Eaten here before and it doesn’t disappoint! I love the fries with gravy to dip them in! Good messy burger !!!

While the service was friendly and helpful the food wasn't as good as the price. I was hoping for a thicker burger and fresher bacon than what I received. The milkshake, while made with Hershey Ice Cream, was delicious. Even the gravy was good but the fries were minimal.

This local spot in Surf City, NC is great! I was there Sunday 7/20. There’s a great atmosphere inside, with one of my favorite things about the restaurant being the working jukebox! Seafood restaurant
High Waters Bar And Grill is a laid-back establishment that offers satisfying American cuisine in a lively and relaxed setting, complete with numerous televisions. This tavern is renowned for its delectable burgers, warm and welcoming staff, and locally sourced seafood. Guests can enjoy the excitement of watching sports games while indulging in mouthwatering dishes like flounder paired with the daily vegetables seasoned with white wine and garlic – an exceptionally delightful combination.
To start off I have to give the bartender a big shout out. Her name was Emily, and she was just amazing! And a young lady who was pregnant, I didn't get her name but she was great also. They were so sweet and welcoming. We sat at the bar and Emily stayed on top of things for real. She made amazing mixed drinks and was super helpful with all our questions since this was our first time here. Not going to lie, I HATE fish. I crave it because I've only found 2 people in the past 20 years that know how to make a good batter and fry fish properly. Let me tell y'all that this fish was so freaking good. I devoured it. It was cooked perfectly and the onion rings were on point. I don't even know how to explain how good it was to me. With a splash of lemon and dipped in their tartar sauce . . . . And I didn't try his chicken wings but I know they were good. He got 2 different flavors. He loved them . Ate every last bit. I know exactly what I'm getting when we come back. Next time we are bringing the family though. Restaurant is great and it was clean also. . . Loved it. . . Keep up the good work. I just ate there yesterday but I want more fish. . . .

It's a tough time to review bars like this. The owner was very very into the final 4. To the point he basically ignored all the customers that weren't his friends or family, while the staff struggled to train me wait staff, cooks, and a bartender. He was having a grand old time getting ready for tip off. The food was pretty good. Expensive for what you got, but good. The wait staff wasn't all that attentive and some were doing double duty. Training new people and waiting tables. This obviously lead to less than great service. I don't blame the wait staff at all. I blame the owner/manager whatever he is. My staffer gave me my drink for the inconvenience and delays. I tipped him well. I won't go back just because of that owner/manager and his constant attention to TV and his friends and family he shipped in for the games while his staff tried to keep up.

An Experience to Remember!! DINE HERE!! My boyfriend and I sat at a high top table there this evening. I was concerned I wouldn’t get the volume of crab legs my soul was craving; after much hesitation but simply asking the questions, everything was above and beyond our expectations. Sydney was the ONLY waitress on the floor, running the show in FOH. She was quick, extremely attentive and had an upbeat attitude, defeating the circumstances that could have weighed her down. She communicated with the owner on our order, and we were again met with care and accommodation. He was cooking in the back running the BOH show, still making the effort to show his face out front. He did a table touch, introduced himself, we shared our gratitude on such delicious food and their benevolent service. Don’t miss out on what could be YOUR next dining experience at Highwaters. As a current restaurant manager, I am definitely impressed!! Thank you all so much for such a wonderful dining experience. The owner and waitress took care of us, so we took care of them! :)
Gee N — Google review
As a local, we have dined here quite a few times. Last two visits we brushed off the little inconveniences of lack of good service and food quality. High waters is one of our daughters favorite restaurants and she chose this place to dine for her birthday dinner. Last Friday night the restaurant was less than crowded and we were seated right away. After waiting over an hour for our food we were served and it was far from par! My son’s Chicken Alfredo consisted of a handfull of cut up chicken pieces swimming in cream sauce with a side of noodles. I ordered the Lime Cilantro Shrimp Bowl….The bowl was missing, lime, cilantro, corn Pico de Gallo, and Mango Salsa. However, it was served with a visible shrimp shell, what tasted like frozen corn and spinach, topped with mushed salsa. My husband's shrimp basket was an embarrassment to this establishment. Once he pulled off the pound of fried batter, he found a small shrimp that was so overcooked a raccoon wouldn't eat it. Thankfully, since we were celebrating our daughter, her butter noodles were on point minus the restaurant not having parmesan cheese. Our server gave us just enough time to express our complaints of my husband’s dish and she did comp that meal. Clearly, she was embarrassed. Assuming the manager was there because he addressed tables around us asking about their experience. However, we never were able to make eye contact with him to express our experience. We are NOT the family to make a scene in a restaurant. However, I did email with zero response. With all that being said, save your $90 and just go straight to Bojangles… bc that's where we ended up. Hopefully, this isn't a new trend for High Waters!

We were rained out for our beach day, so we decided to give this place a try. It did not disappoint. I had the mini burger sliders. They were amazing. It was seasoned well and flavor was great. Also in our party the chicken tenders basket and shrimp basket were tried. Both were fried to perfection. The shrimp looked crispy and the breading looked so inviting. We finished off our meal with the fried caramel apple rolls. It was the perfect ending. Crispy fried, topped with caramel, vanilla ice cream, and whipped cream. We will definitely be back!

On vacation with my fiancée she got a burger which was decent I got wings 4 out of the 12 were undercooked and they took a whole $7 off of my wings. Never coming here again for raw food. For a burger 2 pops and 12 wings and an appetizer it was over $60 originally. Such a let down

I had such a fantastic experience at Highwaters that I had to take a moment to shout it out. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, the food and drinks were on point, but what truly made the night unforgettable was the exceptional service. Our server, Anna, was absolutely amazing and super friendly. She made us feel completely at home and had great recommendations that didn’t miss. The mozzarella sticks were great! You can tell Anna genuinely cares about making sure her guests have a great time. To top it off, Christian, the manager, stopped by to check in on us, and you don’t see that often these days. He was down-to-earth, clearly passionate about the place, and made us feel like valued guests rather than just another table. If you’re looking for a place with great vibes, quality food, and a team that really knows how to take care of their guests, Highwaters is the spot. Ask for Anna, you won’t regret it!
Angelina H — Google review
Like some of the other reviews here. This was our least favorite experience eating out while we were on vacation. First, we had to wait even though there were open tables. After waiting we were seated and waited even longer. While we were waiting again, we decided to take some family photos and one of the waitresses was kind enough to offer to take one of all of us. The waitress we actually got unfortunately was not nice at all. We ordered our food and waited more... when our food finally came, mine was cold. I only ordered a bowl of soup. I told her she ran away with it and brought it back, again not pleasantly. No apology, nothing.

Great place!! We walked in for lunch. Everybody was really nice from the moment we enter the restaurant. Place was clean and inviting. Bar is nice. We had oysters to start with. They were fresh! Coronas perfectly cold. Then steak nachos and carne asada. The skirt steak was perfectly grilled. (Was too hungry to take pictures) Mathew was very attentive and checked on us on a timely manner. Will definitely be happy to come back. An ocean view patio is nice. Plenty of outdoor seating. Great great place!!! Cheers

Very cool place. More upscale than I had American. This is some good eating being beachside and all. They got burgers, chicken, bowls, wraps. Everything that you need. Everyone was very friendly and made food with precision and Care. I wish I could stick around and try everything with the menu. Expect $20 per person but worth it.

I had the shrimp rice bowl and my husband had shrimp tacos. Both were tasty. The rice was a bit greasy or fatty for my taste. Drinks were great. I had the Jalapeño Margarita and my husband had the Bees Knees. Both were made with fresh ingredients and NOT fake flavors and syrups. Service was great and we had a great spot to sit outside with good beach music. I'd go back for sure.

My wife has a gluten allergy and they were able to custom her order and even cleaned the grill before cooking. Above and beyond the call of duty! The Voodo tacos and street corn were excellent. Sit on the back deck, it's an outside beach them. I think on the top deck, you can see the ocean.

Great food, amazing service we had to go twice during our trip and we will definitely be back! They are also pet friendly. we had one drink that was little water down but the owner ( I think) fixed it because their waitress seemed a little confused when I asked but he fixed our drink with no hesitation and he was extremely welcoming and friendly! Their staff were nice and quick. They also have a really good strawberry mojito! We did get drinks so it was kinda pricey per person with drinks

Our family of four discovered this restaurant accidentally and have repeatedly sought it out, year after year. Food really is good in all the ways that matter. They care. It’s an open kitchen and when we were seated we watched great care taken to garnishing one of the bowls prepping for service. Our waitress Rhylie was extremely helpful and pleasant. She suggested we enjoy our appetizer on their 3rd story observation deck. It was so magical that we decided to eat our whole meal up there. Rhylie continued to check on us and brought us our food up 3 flights of stairs and worked to accommodate our children. It’s rare we repeat meals when we only spend a week on vacation, because we want to squeeze in all the fun, but we break that rule for this restaurant. The picture is of the moon rising from their upper deck. We didn’t’ notice it until Rhylie pointed it out to us. Local live music sounded great too!

I’ve been to Surf City Line a handful of times, and it’s quickly become one of my favorite spots in Surf City. My husband and I always start with the grouper bites — they’re cooked perfectly every time, and the dip just takes them to the next level of deliciousness. We’ve always been treated with kindness here, but my most recent visit on 8/8 for my birthday really stood out. The bartender on shift that night was so sweet, funny, and had such a great attitude. She made killer drinks for my husband and me and truly added to the celebration. The vibes here are always chill and enjoyable, and the staff just make the experience even better. Whether you’re celebrating something special or just looking for a relaxing, friendly spot to enjoy great food and drinks, Surf City Line is a must-visit.

Took 8 People out to eat here so we got to try lots of different things. Everything was great. Not gonna lie place did have a little bit of a smoky smell (thinking it used to be a bar only) but other than that loved the food, prices, and staff!

It's an okay spot to grab a drink late at night. Food is okay at best. The bartender was awesome, the rest of the place I could leave no problem. Definitely better bars around town.
