Soundside Park, situated at 517 Roland Ave in Surf City, NC, is a charming park that offers various amenities for visitors. The recently renovated large playground is perfect for kids to burn off energy, while the wheelchair-accessible boardwalks provide stunning views of the Surf City Bridge and Intracoastal Waterway. Access to the water with boats, docs to walk on, super clean bathrooms, big parking lot, huge playground, tons of different types of swings. Literally everything you want in a park!
I don't live too far from here so this park has been a great place to get out of the house. There is a good amount of free parking in the area and plenty of benches, picnic tables and a great dock walkway around the park. I've really enjoyed seeing the wildlife and watching people having fun on their boats at this park. There's also a market and live music event that happens from time to time that I enjoyed coming to!

A great park with lots of options for kids of all ages to play. It's a nice location because you can also walk around the water and walk to beach shops.
A beautiful place! Free parking: Bathrooms and access to restaurants. It is busy though so plan ahead.
Went crabbing here. Nice park for kids. Caught a few small fish and crabs.
Great place to walk. Trails were very well maintained. We had a variety of aged adults and it was easy for everyone. It was either gravel or the wood/metal bridges and don't recall any steps, in case you want to use a stroller.

Can't say enough good things about the turtle rescue. The staff is super friendly and super helpful. The tour is extremely informative and has a great mixture of knowledge and turtle views. Great for kids and adults. Even cooler. The day before we called after spotting an injured turtle and they came to Kalmia's rescue in a flash. The turtle is doing much better and likely wouldn't have made it otherwise. Thanks for all you do!

The experience of a lifetime! It was amazing to see the sea turtles and learn about all the important work the volunteers do to keep the oceans safe for wildlife. The staff were well educated and eager to answer any questions. They do such important work. The best part was seeing the sea turtles and getting to learn facts about each of them, like their favorite snacks. They are so cute, and it was fun learning about the various types of sea turtles that they rescue. Would definitely recommend this experience if in the area!
An hour guided tour with a knowledgable guide. Plenty of time to ask questions. Great learning experience for kids of ALL ages! Reservations required. Adorable items in gift shop. They do great work here. Very worthy addition to any beach vacation. Downside: must be able to stand for the entire hour.
We’ve been coming to the Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Hospital for years, and it’s truly one of my favorite places to visit. The work they do is incredible, and you can feel the passion and dedication from the staff and volunteers the moment you walk in. This time, we brought our 1-year-old for his first visit, and he had such a great time too—lots to see and enjoy even for little ones! The tour is always inspiring, educational, and heartwarming. It’s a must-visit if you’re in the Topsail area. We love supporting this amazing mission and seeing the turtles heal and thrive!
This was a highlight during our trip, booking tickets in advance is a must. We were a group of 11 and were able to get tickets the day before online. We loved learning about the different type of turtles and how we can help! Highly recommend for all ages!
This was so much fun!!! All staff, minus the guy at the door, were all super friendly, knowledgeable, and seem very dedicated to their conversation efforts!! We took our 5 year old daughter and she loved it. There were also other families with small children and they seemed to really enjoy it also. I would highly recommend giving this place a visit!!!!
What an experience. If you are in the area and must stop and check. Tour takes about 45 minutes. And they are truly doing it for the right reason. Great to see what they do. Answered all the questions and staff were super knowledgeable and friendly

Originally constructed in 1948, the pier has withstood multiple reconstructions following hurricane damage, showcasing the community's resilience and commitment to preserving its heritage. Beyond being a popular fishing spot, it serves as a gathering point for both locals and visitors, offering stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean and providing insight into the island's maritime culture.
This was my first time here on Topsail Beach in North Carolina. I was definitely interested in going out onto the pier. But unfortunately this time in May of 2025 the pier was under construction or needed repairs. Looking forward to coming back here and actually walking out on that Pier. The views from the end of the pier look to be amazing

Nice clean pier. Has a friendly staff. The pier is about a 1000 foot. Nice souvenir shop. Parking is $5 an hour, pier fee is $1 to visit to view.
Very nice and personable owners, a dollar to get out as a "neutral observer" (not fishing). Nice clean store with lots of different things including food. Got my ice refilled in my mug there. Another big advantage with the outrageous parking situation, if you go through there you can pay the dollar, be a customer and park in their lot across the way. Again the owners were very friendly and helpful. It's been so long since I've been to the beach, I was really pleased and enjoyed meeting them.
Very friendly. Helped me help my sons fish for the first time. Provided guidance and rods. Explained everything well. Shop provides lots of things including drinks, bait, baby wipes. There’s also a gift shop, which is nice.

Nice beach with lots of waves. Parking was a little difficult and cost $5 per hour or $ 25 for the day. Only a few places to eat along the beach but overall a nice place to go.
Nice pier, only was 1 dollar to walk out and enjoy the scenery. Got to see some of the fisherman catching fish. Watched the surfers trying to catch a good wave.
Great pier. Only had a dislike on the ck in counter lady..rushing us thru the outside #2 pier door with our poles in hand....just to step back in & pay her last- afterwards. Most folks would not think to go past ck in without giving cash & getting a fishing pass 1st. A more pleasant way of asking those that don't know to do this, would have been very nice. We love coming to this hidden gem of a park! The playground is on a smaller scale but still offers everything for kids to enjoy! 4 swings, 1 slide, climbing bars, a full basketball court, picnic area that’s covered, and a walking trail to the water!
We like going here for a quick day out. We walk the pier to some great views of the sound. The sunsets here are perfect for the photographer in your family. Great family pictures for those vacationing. Recommend either early morning or sunset for best pictures.
Beautiful boardwalk out from the park. Nice way to spend peaceful end to the day. The small park with limited parking is well kept and includes a playground, and basketball court.
The play area is pretty small... One slide, one baby swing, three big kid swings, and one climbing apparatus. But it has a bathroom that was surprisingly clean (with a sink and hand soap), a covered picnic table area, a basketball court, and most importantly, a boardwalk that goes over the marshes towards the intracoastal. It is a wonderful spot to watch the sunset. I'd highly recommend it to photographers for engagement/wedding photos. A truly beautiful location!

Such an unexpected surprise for our let's go to the beach day! It was absolutely lovely! The kids watched the egrets and the sitting area at the end was superb. We could not believe there was no one there but us! We will be back!

Our family of 6 had an amazing 3 hour charter to Lea Island - it was the best part of our trip to Surf City, NC. We only wish we had added that extra hour. Captain Will had great energy, gave us directions to find the best shells and sharks teeth and had a cooler with cold bottled water ready for us. Our recommendation: Book the 4 hour trip, have a play list ready to connect to the boat’s Bluetooth and ask for Capt Will!
Highly recommend Lea Island boat excursion! Our teenage girls had a blast viewing ospreys, shell and shark tooth hunting on Lea Island, and swimming in the lagoon. Captain Will’s friendly, down to earth vibe made the 3 hour tour very relaxing as well. Thank you for helping us create an unforgettable moment to our vacation!
We booked a 4 hr tour not really knowing what to expect. Captain Eddie made everything great for us! We had an amazing trip to Lea island found some amazing shells and got some great history and info about the island. We even got to see some dolphins. Thank you so much captain Eddie! We will be back and will be requesting Eddie!
Ask for Captain Mike and first mate Lucas. This tiki tour was so much fun. We enjoyed everything from the music to the fun facts about nature. Everyone in our group said they had a great time and would go again.
Our trip on tiki tours with Capt. Will was awesome! We went shelling, got to swim on the island, and saw dolphins! Capt. Will was jamming country music (our fav), it was a fun and relaxing experience!

We had a fantastic time on our 2-hour tour with Tiki Tours! The highlight for my 4-year-old daughter was getting to use the play ship wheel. She loved feeling like part of the crew. Along the way, we were lucky enough to see dolphins and ospreys, which made the experience even more memorable. Captain Mike and First Mate Lucas were both friendly, knowledgeable, and made the trip fun and relaxing for everyone on board. We had a great time and would definitely love to go again!

During a summer visit to Surf City, children attended camps at EMA, an educational center. They had a fantastic time and gained extensive knowledge about the ocean and its inhabitants. The preschool section of EMA features a captivating touch tank aquarium on the first floor containing both live specimens and skeletal displays. Despite its size, this museum offers an abundance of information that surpasses expectations.
My 3 yr son had educational fun filled adventures thanks to the wonderful people who work at EMA. I enrolled him in 4 different "Sea Squirts" classes this summer and I was beyond impressed with their knowledge, interactions, and engagement with this age group. He is exiting this summer with an increased understanding of the ocean and an appreciation for the local ecology.

Wonderful in house field trip at my daughters school (St. Marks). Was able to bring our daughter to the touch tank aquarium this week and continue to be impressed by the staff and local outdoor activities. Looking forward to signing up for camps this summer!
We discovered this place when my oldest had a field trip here. My 3 year old has been in preschool here and absolutely loves it (first experience with childcare outside of family). All the teachers/staff have been wonderful. I've been in the parking lot waiting on class to dismiss for pick up and heard an older child having an issue and the staff working with that child was so calm, patient, and quickly diffused the issue before turning it around to positive excitement about the next activity. We've also been to a birthday party hosted here and it was also super fun. All in all, I'm comfortable leaving my children here for activities. They always have a blast and can't wait to return!
Edited because I forgot to add the storytime on the beach with an animal is so fun! Not only do they get to meet an animal, hear a story, but they also get to build sand castles and tunnels for the animal to explore. Very fun experience for a wide variety of ages.
We booked my daughter for a week-long summer camp, and am I absolutely blown away by how engaging the counselors are! It’s such a perfect mix of educational and fun. Absolutely recommended — so thoughtfully run and organized, we couldn’t be happier.
Our granddaughter joined EMA this summer for several different day camps and absolutely loves it! She was so happy that she has now joined them for their homeschool program beginning in September as well. I highly recommend their programs!!!
We had a great time, they were great with my son answering all his questions and interacting with him. He loves reptiles so he really enjoyed seeing and touching the reptiles.

This touch tank is amazing! Be patient with their limited hours due to rebuilding staff during a pandemic. Check Facebook for hours day of. We did not have high hopes, I was a bit hesitant to leave a sunny beach for this excursion. I'm SO glad we did. Molly was our guide and she was delightful! She is studying to be in the marine biology field, and her passion shows! She was so amazing with our toddler, spoke to him with relatable knowledge, did not speak down to him, had the utmost patience, and genuinely wanted his experience to be as wonderful as mom and dad did. We LOVE Molly. Our son was able to touch, see, and learn about a turtle, crab, snake, snail, shark teeth, skates, and more!
They have a very cool interactive sand room, and a playroom upstairs that's thoughtful and held our sons attention for a while!
Great for all ages. We wore masks by our choice, not required. Bring cash to tip these college girls who are amazing. Plan to get lunch at Shaka Taco behind the lot afterwards. Can't wait to go back!

Shipwreck Point Golf in Surf City offers two 18-hole mini-golf courses with pirate and oceanic themes. The challenging layout reflects Topsail Island's pirate history, featuring obstacles like waterfalls, rocks, and mini bridges. The tropical island ambiance includes a shipwreck, flags, skulls, and other pirate decorations. Visitors can enjoy the all-ages putt-putt experience while exploring the lovely gift shop for souvenirs.
Fun pirate theme mini golf with two courses to choose from or play both. Lots of pirate statuary, several waterfalls, a shipwreck in the lagoon, and plenty of caves along the course for shade. Nice landscaping, picnic tables in case anyone needs a break, clean bathrooms, and friendly and helpful staff. The gift shop is loaded with Topsail Island treasure, and there are wonderful ice cream shops, restaurants, a distillery, lounges, and wine bar within very close proximity.

My husband and I went to Shipwreck for a little date night and had an amazing time! The staff was so incredibly friendly and kind which made the experience even better. 10/10 would recommend, we will definitely be back sometime to play the 2nd course!:)

Fun place to enjoy miniature golf with two courses of 18 holes each. Adults are $10 each and kids under 5 are free with a paying adult. Other kids are $9. If you play a second game it is only $4. The man there was friendly and helpful. It was a gray rainy day so no line and we had fun. We hope to visit again another year when we visit!
Great 36 hole mini golf course split into two sets of 18. The customer service is top tier. The price is fair for adults and free for children 5 and under. They do offer rain checks. The courses are simple and easy for children. They do sell merchandise and custom golf balls.
Of course you always have fun when you play putt putt! However, they are in definite need of some maintenance and upkeep! The outdoor carpeting is torn on several of the holes. There are several places where the mulch or filler needs to be replenished. You get to choose what color ball you want to use, and the size of your putter. Then you choose one of two courses that is 18 holes. The lady working the desk was very nice and friendly. I would give it more stars if the course was in better shape. We did have fun, so all in all, it was a nice excursion.
We mini golf everywhere we go. This was a great time! Two 18 hole courses. 4 adults cost $42 for one round so not the cheapest but still fun. Here in the off season so it wasn’t congested, which was nice!
Can’t give a full 5 stars as the course can use some repair. Also the water features needed to be cleaned and refilled. I personally didn’t like the colored water but that’s okay.
It would also be nice if the gift shop had locally made items and not imported stuff but I guess that’s mainly what you get around here.

While there's no public restroom available, the spacious parking lot makes it convenient for visitors to stop by and explore the unique offerings at Topsail Island Trading Company.
We were at Emerald Isle visiting which is about an hour and a half when we came across an ad for this place with permanent jewelry. We drove the distance and was not disappointed. The entire store was filled with so many goodies other than the permanent jewelry; between clothes, sweet treats, decor and other knickknacks. The employees were super nice and welcoming and explained everything to us. We easily spent over an hour just browsing and purchasing our goods. Absolutely loved this place and will be back to acquire more lovely items in the future.

My fiance and I were visiting Topsail for the first time and stopped by this store based on the great reviews. He made a b-line straight to the fudge and left with a pound of four flavors. I didn’t think I was a big fan of fudge but after trying his we stopped on the way out of town so I could get my own pound. It is fantastic!! The store has so many beautiful items and the employees are friendly. Definitely a must visit if you're in the area!
Best fudge I’ve ever had. They sell around 15-20 flavors, the ones I tried were smooth, fresh, and had the right level of sweetness.
The flavors are traditional and unique, chocolate with peanut butter swirl, turtle, Mexican chocolate, pistachio, “Dubai” which is a blend of chocolate and pistachio, raspberry, cherry with chocolate, plus many, many more.
We enjoyed a wonderful week and a half on Topsail Island. And we frequented the Trading Company quite a few times. Their store is very inviting and have quite a selection of quality items to choose from. Their customer service adds testament to their very high business rating and they helped us out immensely in ordering additional merchandise over the phone after we got home. Well done!
I’ve been coming here for 50 yrs. I bought 3 lbs. of my favorite fudge, Cherry Nut Cheesecake, to take home. When I got home and opened the fudge, I was shocked. It was not the same. It was dark and sour-tasting and clearly not the same Cherry Nut Cheesecake that I had bought in the past. I dropped the Fudge Master a note on their website, letting him know of my disappointment and that I was wasting $50+ on fudge that I did not want. He explained that they had to change the recipe-for good reason. He is shipping me another one of my favorites to make up for the Revised Cherry Nut Cheesecake. He didn’t have to do that and I am very grateful. If you go to Topsail Island, you must visit this store and try their fudge. Not only is the fudge amazing but they treat you right!
Super pleasant staff! Delicious fudge with free sampling. Fudge card given and punched for each pound or more purchased to eventually lead to a free pound. Other merchandise is nice and there is so much to look at!

DO NOT ORDER FROM THE WEBSITE!! I ordered fudge delivered to my house. When I got a confirmation email that it was delivered the photo clearly shows that it is at the wrong address!! I tell them about the error and the fact that I haven't been able to recover my package all I get as reply is that it isn't there fault or problem but I can buy more fudge if I want for a little discount. Why would I throw more of my money away when I didn't get what I paid for already?!?!

What a flawless operation! I initially booked three jet skis for my family to use on Saturday morning, but I actually meant to book them for Sunday. The young man who called to confirm our Saturday appointment was incredibly kind and understanding, and he immediately switched our reservation to Sunday. When we arrived on Sunday morning, I felt somewhat overwhelmed by all the instructions and safety guidelines, especially since it was my son’s first time riding one on his own. However, after receiving clear instructions and having guides available on the water nearby, I felt much more at ease. The jet skis were beautiful, the parking was easy, the help there was excellent and the area to wait in was so nice and so clean, even their port-a potty was clean!

Our first time on jet skis and… let’s just say we’re hooked! My three teenage boys were living their best lives out there with huge smiles, lots of ‘Did you see that?!’ moments. Andrew was the MVP, he gave us clear tips, kept checking in, and made sure we didn’t totally embarrass ourselves before we got the hang of it. Once we did, it was full throttle fun with amazing views. 10/10 would do it again (and my boys are already begging for round two)!

We weren’t able to make a reservation online but we were accommodated regardless. Everyone was helpful and thorough for our safety. The views were nice and had no issues with the jet ski at all. We chose 1hr package and wish we had more time. We will be back and recommend them 100%!!

I had such an amazing time jet skiing here! The whole experience was smooth from start to finish—easy check-in, friendly staff, and clear instructions. We were even able to purchase phone pouches so we could take some cool pictures! Once I got out on the water, it was incredible. The jet ski was in great condition, fast, and so much fun to ride. The views from the water made it even better. I had an awesome ride and definitely recommend this place if you’re looking for a fun adventure on the water. I’ll absolutely be coming back!

BumbleBee Market is a fantastic store where you can find both Disney charms and sophisticated mugs for adults. It offers an extensive range of adorable household items, unique toys, racially inclusive stationary, and other refreshing products. The clothing selection is impressive, and they have plenty of trinkets to browse through. The employees are exceptionally patient and friendly with shoppers of all ages.
This cute little shop is perfect for those who love to get gifts for themselves or others. You can find so much and it's packed in. Plan a good 30+ min. if you like to take your time. They have everything from chocolates, books, holiday gifts, clothing, hats, toys, shoes, frames, ceramics, jewelry, and so much more.
Julie and Becky were so kind and helpful. They will take the time to chat with you and help in any way they can. There are sales so check out the website. Teachers get discounts so make sure you mention that if you are.
We had to get some of the pumpkin caramels because they are so good and only seasonal. You need to try them.

My personal 'must go' shopping shop. The owner is great and has helpful suggestions on things that might look good on you. She has a good eye for dressing/styling. I love to check out their jewelry and dresses. My teenage daughter and her friends also LOVE this place. They have everything : clothes, natural life brand, Vera bags, cool journals, jewelry, kids toys & books, seasonal decorating, hats, and even a chocolate and candy counter.

Cute stuff. I honestly wouldn't have even have felt the need to leave a review if the staff wasn't following us around the store. There's signs all over the store about being on camera, fine I don't care. What annoys me is when you can't shop bc there is constantly employees coming up to you while ur trying to shop, or offering to hold your items (I was holding 2). The last straw for me was when I was checking out, I heard the door bell go off signaling that someone was coming in, and the girl behind the counter immediately tells another coworker to go walk the floor. I feel like she was telling her to go follow the person who just walked in the store, who just happened to be my daughter walking in.

It proved to be a fortunate discovery for a group of three friends on vacation seeking facials. The esthetician named Grace not only displayed tenderness towards their skin but also showcased extensive expertise in the field. She took great care to avoid exacerbating any dermatitis issues and remarkably improved the texture of their skin using her selected products.
I buy my Osmosis products from Inis Spa. So happy to support local. Very pleased with environment and the staff is super friendly. Mary worked with me to exchange a product that didn’t work well for my skin type. Very thankful for her kindness and willingness to work with me. Thank you Inis Spa!

I had a massage from Jen this week while on vacation, and it was the best massage I’ve ever had, hands down. After chatting for about two minutes, she knew exactly what I needed. This was not the generic full body massage I’m used to. She focused on my trouble spots, and used aromatherapy, stretching, and hot stones to make me feel like a new person. I will definitely be going back next time I’m in town- or maybe I’ll be back in town just to go back! 10/10 highly recommend Jen!

I went to Jen for a massage and this being only my second massage made me feel completely comfortable and relaxed in the space. She used aromatherapy and ocean waves to relax you. I booked a hot stone massage and reflexology.

Love my time and visits to Inis Spa. I had to come back for a 2nd time to see Grace and have the oxygen osmosis facial. Grace is phenomenal. She has a soothing presence, extremely knowledgeable , pays attention to the details, has great technique, and just knows how to make the whole experience phenomenal. Nestled in the heart of Surf City, Salty Turtle Beer Company is a delightful haven for craft beer aficionados. Founded by three passionate beer lovers, this charming brewery not only serves up an impressive selection of brews but also gives back to the community by supporting the Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Center with a portion of their profits.
Came to Surf City for a day while on vacation and came across this place. I’m not a beer drinker, but my husband is and we decided to stop and I’m glad we did.
The decor/atmosphere is out of this world. Everyone was so welcoming and nice.
My husband found a few beers he really enjoyed and we bought some to bring it home to share with friends. As I said, I am not a beer drinker, but their ciders and seltzers were really good! Highly recommend the mango pineapple. Blackberry is good too!
We also bought some merchandise and I can’t wait to wear the shirts!
This place also donates some of their money to save the turtles and that’s another reason why I like them!
If you are in the area, I highly recommend to check it out.

We had a great experience at Salty Turtle! We were in town visiting friends for a long weekend and ended up coming here a few times because the location was great, the beer was good, and there were food options nearby too. The bartenders were very friendly. The beer was great. One day that we were there, there was a good truck, and you can also get food from the (very good) burger place next door.
The atmosphere is cool - there's a bar top you can sit at, or some tables inside, and then they have a nice patio area outside as well as a wrap around porch of sorts with tables to sit at.

Great place to come and relax. The staff was amazing and very attentive. This place is clean and most of all the people are great. They have flights, various drinks, they have mocktails and they have snacks. They have clothing and gifts . Make sure you check them out.
We've been meaning to visit Salty Turtle for a long time, but the crowds or family plans have always prevented it. We finally got there today, and could not have been more happy with this cool Coastal brewery.
There are a good variety of beers to choose from. Flights include 4 beers; my favorites were the Coastline and Highway 50 (a sour), but all 4 were good. For non-beer drinkers such as my wife, they offer quite a few (5+) different kinds of wine.
Service was friendly and knowledgeable, and the restrooms were clean and had vacant/occupied signs built into the handles. Merchandise was good-looking, with lots of nice shirts and glassware. It's a great brewery that we'll certainly visit again.

What a great place to get some local beer. Their Oktoberfest was perfect. Great malt bill and very crispy. Hey Zey is definitely a must try as well. The staff was attentive as well. Definitely a must try if you're near here.
This was my first time at the Salty Turtle Beer Co. & I found my experience was awesome. The building was easily accessible from the road & I was quickly welcomed by the staff. The beer was awesome. I tried 2 flights & I didn't find anything I didn't enjoy. I gained a lot of information about the area & places to see. I definitely would say that I'll be coming back again.
11/1/2022 - Have been back to the Salty Turtle multiple times & the brews have never disappointed. Always one of the places we look forward to visiting when going to Surf City.

We moved here from New York and spent months testing to find our church family. We visited the Gathering and at first I wasn’t sure about going to a baptist church as some baptist churches ignore the Holy Spirit. Not here!!! This church is so balanced. Bobby is living Christ and has a passion to get everyone to join him. We are diving deep into the book of Romans. Bobby explains the text and gives us many ways to apply it to our lives. The morning worship is just that. The music is top notch but every member of the team is focused on worshipping God.
This church is full of love and people are very kind and friendly. With five Sunday morning services, there is a place for you!
The pastorale group is amazing and the people are welcoming. Location is prime. I think it would be a great idea to hold some AA or Al-Anon meetings here. I think it could, not only, service the community in a way it currently isn't and be a beacon to those who need it most but also humble those in the congregation that have been sheltered and give them a new perspective on things!
I just moved here from WA state. Everyone is always so nice and welcoming even though I look a bit different. I have tattoos and piercings and I wear a lot of black but it never seems to matter. Pastor Bobby always stops by and shakes my hand when he sees me in the back. I really like the message on Sundays and the study that they are doing in Hebrews is extensive and very insightful especially in my current walk of faith.
Worship is great and the team they have up front gives special attention to the atmosphere during praise that makes it thrum in your chest & prickle your skin when they sing. 10/10 if I could give more stars I would.

I am new to the area and found Mia‘s Marketplace. I have already been three times in the last five days. There is something for everyone and I have found gifts for all the ladies on my Christmas list. Their clothing selection is vast and super trendy, which I love. Their jewelry lines are absolutely gorgeous. Don’t even get me started on the room they have dedicated solely to chocolate and nostalgic candy. The staff could not be more friendly and helpful. It's more than just a coffee shop, as it also features an adjacent wine bar called unWined. First time in Topsail, and our first morning here we came to Daily Grind. My iced latte was delicious and the croissant sandwich was the chefs kiss, literally 👌🏼👌🏼 loved that we could sit inside outside as well. My husband got the cold brew (said it was delicious) and the sourdough bagel sandwich, also said it was really good. A GREAT compliment because we make sourdough bagels at home that are his favorite. The only thing is the menu is super limited when it comes to food - but that’s okay because the sandwiches are outstanding

The menu had so many great options, and the whole place had such a fun, relaxed vibe. We also loved browsing their merch—lots of cute and unique finds. Highly recommend stopping in if you’re in the area!

Surf City Parks & Recreation offers a wide range of activities for all ages. The facility includes amenities such as tennis courts, baseball fields, soccer field, indoor basketball court, and gym. They also offer various programs for kids and adults throughout the year. Additionally, there are playgrounds, a dog park, exercise rooms, meeting rooms and group activities available. The staff is known for being friendly and knowledgeable while maintaining well-kept facilities.
We rented the handicap wheelchairs yesterday for my mom and sister so they could go to the beach. Neither of them had been able to go for several years due to health. I have never seen two women so happy just to be rolled to the water. This was truly a blessing. Also the lovely ladies that helped me get this set up so this could happen were such a blessing as well. We are extremely grateful for this program.

There's never anywhere to park at the community center for the games. They need to stop requesting players to be there 15 minutes before their games because the other teams haven't let out yet, so it leaves nowhere to park.
The Rec center stopped honoring it's free memberships for military retirees and active duty military personnel.
It's now $50 + the costs of individual classes for as it is for everyone else.
Great facilities for a small town! Playground, dog park, tennis courts, ball fields. Indoors: gym, locker-room, exercise room, meeting rooms, and a ton of group activities for kids and adults alike.
The staff here are awesome and very helpful. The facility is always well maintained and they run various programs throughout the year for kids and adults. There are two tenets courts, two baseball fields, a soccer field, an indoor basketball court, and a gym. The membership prices are also incredible considering the different services they offer and how nice everything is.
Fantastic place for our kids to play organized sports during inclement weather. The staff and referees are knowledgeable and friendly. Social distancing and temperature checks are all part of their MO. Great job!

Topsail Escape Room in Surf City is a premier escape adventure destination that caters to diverse groups, such as families, friends, and colleagues. With elaborate, captivating, and challenging rooms, participants will have an exciting experience trying to crack the codes.
My family and I were visiting Surf City for the week, and we love escape rooms so we decided to check out this place which was 3min from our rental. First we did the scavenger hunt which had fun puzzles throughout the town, but the 1.5 mile walk on a hot summer day was uncomfortable. We had a golf cart which made it more tolerable. However the busy traffic made it unrecommended for children. This would be great for a cool day without tourists or kids, and maybe with a golf cart. It took us almost three hours to complete. The concept was a lot of fun even though our conditions were unfavorable. The next day we came back for Ocean’s Call and loved it so much, we immediately booked Beach House Breakout. Both of these rooms had well designed challenging puzzles, direct linear flow, great props, and some hidden chambers. There were five of us, and we couldn’t decide which room we liked better. My family has solved many rooms together in other cities, and we were able to solve both of these with about 10min to spare. I highly recommend either room. They provided a challenging and entertaining time with my family. Special thanks to the owner for squeezing us in to do the second room. We had a blast!

We had an absolute blast! We were warmly welcomed by the staff. Starting process was really well organized. We were two people for Ocean’s Call. It was definitely challenging but mentally super stimulating, really great puzzles to solve! We will be back! For a little town like Surf City, this definitely a gem escape room. Highly recommend!
We did both rooms they have currently open and had a lot of fun. One was a movie theater theme and one was a sunken submarine. We have done a lot of different escape rooms and definitely liked the movie theater one better but they were both good. Took us about 45min in the actual room but plan on being there an hour.
Was great fun. Took my mother in law, sister in law, wife and 5 kids from 4-15... We all got to participate, and were able to make it out with like 22 seconds to spare! Highly Recomend it
Having never done one of these before I scoffed and rolled my eyes at 28$/person. We went for my sons amusement and soon found ourself fully immersed and super into the room! Secrets and puzzles and clues abound! It was exhilarating!!! We beat the room and escaped with a few minutes to spare and only needed 1 hint (was told this was impressive especially for first timers 😂). We are already booking again for the harder room, absolutely worth every penny! Thanks for the thrills and great memories guys
Our family has been to this establishment three times. The latest room was a disappointment. A few items in the rooms didn’t work as they should have causing extra confusion and lost time. For the money you spend for this type of experience I recommend taking the extra time to travel to Jacksonville or Wilmington. Both have a much higher caliber of play with some really great rooms and are well worth the money. Staff here was less friendly. Overall not an experience I would recommend nor one we will return to.
This was an excellent experience. Small, yet challenging. We had five on our team and all had done multiple rooms at other locations before, and we only made it out with 24 seconds to spare. Also, great customer service. I was travelling with a large group and had to reschedule my reservation twice and they promptly refunded my card, no problem. Also, the woman at the front desk gave us some great recommendations of places to eat and walk around the island.

Nelva R. Albury Recreation Area is a fantastic spot for families to enjoy a day out. The area offers public beach access, a playground with equipment suitable for both younger and older kids, swings, and interactive play features. Visitors can also make use of the restrooms, outdoor showers, and ample seating areas with picnic tables for meals or snacks. Additionally, the park provides free parking in designated spots. It's an ideal place to spend quality time with family while maintaining social distance.
We had a wonderful time sharing a meal together and spending mimi and papa time together with the grandchildren. This is a nice park to play at. Plenty of tables and benches spread out so families can share time together and still socially distance from others.

Super cute park for my little one. The playground had lots of interactive things for him, and he loved the slide. The only downside was the rust—seemed like it needed some updates because of a few areas definitely unsafe.
We had a great time at this playground! There is a climber/slide for younger kids and one for older kids, swings (including a mommy & me swing) and a "challenge" area where kids can climb a rope wall and complete other fitness challenges. The ground is woodchips which is much better than the sand you find at other playgrounds. All new equipment with lots of great play features, clean, lots of places to sit and small picnic tables for lunch or snack. Its right next to a parking lot and bathroom. My almost 2 year old had a blast and had no problem maneuvering around the smaller climber and playground. The older kids there were having a lot of fun too. Very nice playground and will be going back!

Very nice parking area and easy access to the beach, but it does have a lot of stairs, so it's not convenient to take a beach wagon.
This park is great. It has a swing for a 5-12 year old that cannot or will not use a standard swing. Interactive wheel kids can spin and pretend. Great slides to enjoy for older kids and younger kids.
Free parking for the park is available in designated spots only.
The only downside to this park is there are no fences to stop kids from darting into traffic.
We hate the mulch on the play area, (toddler feet), but this is a great park otherwise! Love that it's so near to the ocean for beach days.

We arrived at our cottage on a busy Saturday evening in July to find no beach chairs or sun shade. Topsail Island Beach Service found a shibumi for us and saved the day (despite our poor planning). When the shibumi ripped later in the week, they sent over another sun shade that evening. Outstanding customer service. Super efficient and nicer than they need to be. Contactless delivery and pickup. Could not be better. Highly recommend.

The pricing, service, and quality of the product from this company were less than stellar. I rented an umbrella and 2 chairs for 5 days, and it was $220+. Which first off was the most I've paid (by double) in 5 years. But I knew I was limited in my choices due to my location, so I proceeded. I anticipated the quality and convenience would support the cost...NOPE! The chairs were very old, weak, and rough wood (splinters) and did not operate well. Additionally, our umbrella was placed in the worst location daily, up close to the dune, so that all our shade was on the dune where we could not take advantage of it. Even after calling, texting, and talking to staff multiple times, it was still placed near the dune each day. It wasn't until our last day (a day full of rain) that we had a decent placement. Upon return to Topsail Beach, I will NOT use this company again. I did NOT get anywhere close to the value for the price!!! VERY DISAPPOINTING.

Absolutely hands down, from all the questions I had answered to accidentally booking the wrong week , to amazing customer service I applaud this company.
The delivery guys came on time,very friendly, and made a great delivery.
They picked the chair up early due to Debby and some family needed to leave a day early.
Hands down if anyone needs rental supplies call them.

This is our second year in a row to use Topsail Beach Service for our large family (20+) vacation. We rented chairs, umbrellas, corn hole, boogie boards and bikes. The equipment is great and we really like the daily setup and takedown service, it is well worth the money. Their team is easy to work with and very responsive. We will use them again next year.
We absolutely love the convenience of using Topsail Beach Service! We don't have to lug our own chairs and umbrellas to the beach and the quality of their chairs and umbrellas are far superior to anything you can buy.
Steve was awesome! We extended some items, added more items and even traded out items throughout our week long stay. He even let us borrow tent poles when one of ours broke. Prompt response even after hours. Everything was exactly what we needed! Highly recommend!⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I had a very delicate bracelet that needed mended and I simply walked in and left maybe 3 minutes later with my bracelet fixed! I do believe it was the owner who helped me, and he was so kind and quick! I wasn’t in the market for any new jewelry, but walked around a bit while he was working on my bracelet and he has such beautiful pieces! Definitely recommend for any repairs/ jewelry shopping!

I ruined my sterling silver Mjolnir pendant with Tarn-X not even a week after I bought it. I had also twisted and smashed the jump ring on my stainless steel chain while trying to remove the pendant—because I was incompetent. Embarrassed and crestfallen, I took it to this place for restoration, curious to see what could come of my visit.
Everyone was very nice, upbeat, attentive, and helpful. A man—who I’m assuming was Tommy, though I could be mistaken—took my Mjolnir pendant to the back room and restored it. In fact, he exceeded my expectations, making it shinier than when I first received it. He even brought back the golden accents I thought were lost and replaced my jump ring, all in just 10 minutes.
I was astonished. He told me to bring it back another time so he could finish the job with his tumbler.
Amazing work—I will be back! The attached photo doesn’t capture the luster and shine well enough due to phone camera inadequacies, but it will have to suffice. I will update this review with additional photos in the near future, following the tumbler service.

The customer service is top-notch, and the staff truly go above and beyond. They are incredibly patient and take the time to make sure every customer feels valued.
We had another wonderful experience today with Tommy and the team. I’m especially grateful for the time and care Tommy showed my mother-in-law—he made her feel so special. And yes, I couldn’t leave without treating myself to a stunning piece as well!

Topsail is one our favorite NC Beach areas. We love how clean it is and wonderful the beaches are. Also some great places to eat. We just had a wonderful time and can’t wait to go back.

Have been coming to Topsail Island for many years. It has grown a lot. Some of that is good but other times I wish it would have stayed smaller and more charming but it is my favorite beach. The beach itself is the best anywhere. The people are friendly and the restaurants offer the best seafood around. Love this place.
Can still drive and Park on the beach at the North end. Family loves it. Get there early as business picks up as the day goes on.
This is the nicest, most beautiful beach I have ever been to. It is family-friendly, accessible, and fun! There are turtle sightings daily, little fish, and nice little shops downtown.
Weather was windy…waves were plentiful…sun was hot…we had a good time. Grandkids loved the boogie boards, sand castles, catching the sand fleas, shells, walking on the shoreline- fun and very relaxing.

Surf City Family Campground is a fantastic spot just seconds away from the beach, making it perfect for beach lovers. The public bathrooms and showers are well-maintained, and the campground offers various amenities at reasonable prices. It's advisable to make reservations in advance due to high demand. The family-oriented atmosphere ensures a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone, especially children. Despite being close to urban tourist areas, the campground maintains a peaceful environment, particularly during weekdays.
Top notch location. This is EXACTLY what we were looking for as a great overnight stop on our east coast roadtrip. Extremely reasonable rates, very friendly staff, and RIGHT ON A GORGEOUS BEACH 😍😍😍 bathrooms were plentiful and clean. Sites were normally spaced if not slightly closer to each other than normal but we just stopped mid week and there was a lot of empty space. Mostly adults but I did see one family tent camping with small children. Lots of dogs. There is a little store and ice available. Lots of food and drink options in the area. No pool or frills but you're right on the beach which is exactly what we were looking for. Thank you for a great stay, we look forward to returning in the future!!!

This is the first 5 star review I ever wrote where the facilities are a bit "rustic" (emphasis on rust), bad internet, close enough to hear your neighbors breath....but amazing location, next to the beach, nice people, family run, good price. I would live here if I could. We met people that come every year for 40 years. Highly recommended.
The owners and staff were very nice. People around camping was great. Quiet at night. Right on the beach, no driving. Right on the mountains to sea trail last segment. As a backpacker, couldn’t ask for anything better. Love it. Will be coming back!

It's simple and rustic. If you're all about the beach, this is a must stay. The proprietors were very friendly and helpful. They will even park your rig for you with their tractor if you have a hard time. The sites are tight but are full hookup. The beach is awesome here and it is literally a 100 yard walk! We will be back!

More than meets the eye….. pulling up to the building, it doesn’t look like much (it looks a little sketchy). However, we were pleasantly surprised. The staff members were knowledgeable and friendly and our toddler loved exploring and interacting with the sea creatures; this experience held his attention for a whole hour (very impressive for a 3-year-old).

Actually a really cool spot to check out at a pretty affordable price. It's nothing crazy, you can see everything in about 30 minutes, but they have some really cool animals on display with many of them available to touch. They bring out different animals to interact with guests every 30 minutes to an hour and the staff seem quite knowledgeable and friendly. Definitely worth a check out if you're looking for something to do in the area!

My 2yo son loved this and so did I! He was a little too young just because he doesn’t listen that well and he has short arms so it was hard to reach all the animals. However the staff were amazing and helped him touch some of the reptiles and were very sweet! The upstairs is a playroom that was small but very fun for my son.
So heads up for people traveling far: this place is very small, my mistake I thought it was one of the state aquariums, it is not. But it is still a wonderful fun place to visit! It was a nice break from being on the beach and very interactive! Brought our 2 year old here and he had a blast! Staff were very knowledgeable and helpful!
This place was really neat, especially for kids. Staff gave fun facts and answered questions for folks and there's a spot upstairs with neat imaginative play toys. For a small aquarium, they had some of the cleanest tanks and healthiest reptiles, especially chameleons, I've ever seen. Kudos for providing excellent animal care!
Small and cute aquarium in topsail! 100% recommend visiting especially with kids. Upstairs they have a playroom. The staff is very friendly and clearly show care for the animals. The facility is well maintained and clean. A must visit when in topsail!
A bunch of unique creatures, not just an Aquarium. They have numerous of reptiles and Tarantulas too. Especially Big Boris who weights approximately 33lbs. The Aquarium part ranges from Jellyfish, Rays, Seahorses to a tiny Shark. Upstairs was insects, the worker say there was a King Scorpion up there. Took his word for it, I wasnt going. I wont be back but I Do recommend if your in the area.
