If you only have 5 days to spend in Wilkes-Barre, we’ve narrowed down the top places you should check out to get the best experience of your time here.
Wilkes-Barre sits along the Susquehanna River in Pennsylvania’s Wyoming Valley, offering easy access to the Pocono Mountains for hiking, skiing, and other outdoor activities. Visitors can explore regional history at sites like the Luzerne County Courthouse and the nearby Eckley Miners’ Village, which reflects the area’s coal-mining heritage. The Mohegan Pennsylvania casino and entertainment complex, along with the F.M. Kirby Center for the Performing Arts, provide dining, gaming, and live shows. Riverfront parks, minor-league sports, and local festivals round out its small-city attractions.
With favorites like Isabella, Mohegan Pennsylvania, and Rustic Kitchen Bistro & Bar, we’ll make sure you don’t miss out on all the must sees. We even included some of our favorite food spots around the area, like Johnny Rockets and Ruth's Chris Steak House so you can get the best taste of Wilkes-Barre while you’re here. This a review ONLY for the free RV parking. After you turn off 315 you need to drive all the way back to Lot E where the website says RVs can park. A sign points left to a gravel lot but and others went into Lot E and parked on pavement with the big trucks. You able to use your levels, generator, and slides. There is plenty of room. We parked in the long lanes painted for big rigs. There are no amenities so it is dry camping. It was quiet. AT&T cell service was excellent. Over the air TV was available. There is a covered shuttle stop in the Lot if you want to go to the casino for meals or gambling. We did not use it or go into the casino. There are grassy areas for dog walking and a body of water across the street behind the trees. We would certainly stop here for a free night.
Sandra H — Google review
Was there 10/25 and 10/26/25. The room was great, and cleaned very well. Played at the Casino and a wide range of slots to choose from. Not once did we have to wait to get drinks, those gals were amazing. We ate at 2 different places and both were amazing, and the prices very affordable. Check in and out was a breeze. Will definitely go back. As for the comedy show...not so my style. Meeting table and chairs. A different set up would be needed. SA

We didnt stay at the hotel just visited. Casino was clean, looked like lots of good food options. Also the toilet cover thing was neat, i've never seen that! The track was nice but it was a HOT day and there wasn't a lot of shade outside. People were smoking inside so not comfortable in there.
Olivia S — Google review
The room was fine, the restaurants great but the slots sucked. They were extraordinarily tight with very little in wins. They weren't really any fun at all as they wouldn't produce enough to enjoy playing for awhile. You go in looking for an enjoyable evening and wind up leaving a day early.

Had a was wonderful time. Food at Ruth Chris was a fantastic meal. We ate at Johnny Rockets. Very inexpensive and delicious. Lots of cocktail waitresses on the cassino floor. Our room was super clean and lovely.

Not a 4 star hotel…… more like a 3. Come ready to make your own bed and ask for more towels and other essentials or bring your own if you need them. And make sure you bring your tablet with your own shows properly downloaded for streaming. The streaming service does not work at all…. And the worst part is that after you try to make it work for 10 times and you call the front desk they will tell you….. oh… I don’t know why they still have that because it does not work!

Campground with nice spots for our motorhome. Close to the highways to go anywhere. Very good facilities, very nice staff, very attentive to the upkeep of the sites. Laundry, fishing, pool, store, you name it, they have what you need.

Restaurant
Rustic Kitchen Bistro & Bar is a renowned restaurant known for its Italian cuisine and vintage-themed setting. With multiple awards under its belt, including Best New Restaurant by Boston Magazine, it has become a popular choice for dining out. The establishment boasts experienced staff dedicated to providing excellent service, ensuring a memorable experience for guests. Located in Wilkes-Barre, PA, this posh American restaurant at Mohegan Sun Pocono offers an impressive menu featuring pizza and other Italian delicacies.
Every time we find ourselves at Mohegan Sun, we make it a point to stop by this incredible restaurant. My husband is absolutely enamored with the food, and I can’t blame him! The decor is breathtaking, but it’s really the food that keeps us coming back for more. While the prices might be on the higher side, the generous portion sizes and exceptional quality make it truly worth every penny. Now, let’s rave about the drinks! The bartender deserves a round of applause—and a raise—because each drink is perfectly crafted and utterly delightful. I couldn’t resist the pineapple spicy margarita; it was so good that I ended up ordering three, and I have zero regrets! My husband opted for the filet mignon, which was cooked to absolute perfection, while I indulged in the pork chop, and let me tell you, it was one of the best I’ve ever tasted. This place is a must-visit, and we can’t wait to return!

Rustic Kitchen is hands down one of the best dining experiences at Mohegan Sun. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between cozy and upscale — warm lighting, inviting décor, and an energy that makes you feel welcome right away. The food is outstanding. Every dish we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The pasta was cooked perfectly, the seafood was fresh, and the steak was absolutely spot-on. You can tell the chefs take real pride in what they serve. Service was exceptional from start to finish. Our server was attentive without being intrusive, offered great recommendations, and made sure we felt taken care of the entire evening. Whether you’re looking for a romantic dinner, a night out with friends, or a pre-casino meal, Rustic Kitchen delivers every time. Highly recommend and will definitely be back!

Hands down the best and most popular resturant in NEPA. This place is always jammed packed, even on holidays. Wait staff, and management really take care of their customers. I reccomend the ceaser salad and hanger steak. The creme brulee is the best and highly sought after. You are never dissapointed here- even the kitchen staff will come out and check on you. A+++

I’m extremely disappointed with our experience at Rustic Kitchen. I have dietary limitations, but I’ve never had an issue being accommodated when dining out—until now. First, I want to highlight that our waitress was excellent. She was kind, attentive, and did her best. The problem was with management. I requested a kids’ grilled cheese (since I don’t eat meat, seafood, or much else on the menu) and even offered to pay full adult pricing and add a small house salad. The manager flatly refused, insisting kids’ meals are only for children under 12. I respect the policy, but I also know flexibility is possible, especially when a paying customer is asking to be charged more, not less. With no real options left, I ordered a Caesar salad with no dressing. What I received was simply romaine lettuce, croutons, and parmesan crisps (which I don’t eat). It was hardly a meal, and to make matters worse, they charged me $2 extra for “extra croutons” I never ordered. Although this was eventually removed from the bill, I was still told that in the future, any “extras” would come at a cost—even though this wasn’t the case here. I left hungry, frustrated, and disappointed—especially since we’ve dined here many times before without issue. This could have easily been handled differently. Allowing me to pay the adult price for a kids’ menu item would have solved the problem and ensured a positive experience. Instead, I left feeling unvalued as a customer. I truly hope management reconsiders how they handle situations like this in the future.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Amazing food, delicious drinks, and great service! Everything came out fresh and full of flavor from the appetizers to the entrées. Perfect spot for a night out, highly recommend!

We spent the day at Mohegan for two birthdays in our family. We celebrated at Rustic Kitchen after a losing streak on the floor. Kaye the manager took care of us almost immediately. What a personality! We wanted her to join us for dinner because she made us feel like family. The food was great. Kaye and the waiters were all incredible. Our drinks were constantly refilled. Our food quality was great. We will be back. 5 star service. Kaye should be recognized for her hospitality.

Mountainside nature area known for its cascading streams, bedrock tubs & variety of seasonal plants.
Ample parking and two clean pit toilets at the start of the trail. Walk back along main trail just a touch and it takes you to the first bridge. Hang a left before you cross the bridge. Its steeper on this side and much easier to go up here vs down. Pretty pics as you climb. Rain started for us and the rocks got very slippery. You really should not do this trail without hiking boots. I also strongly advise trekking poles for anyone who is less sure footed. Water running great on May 3rd. Somewhat muddy in places from rain. After a bit of climbing you will come to a set of steep metal stairs. The main trail takes you down them. Easier to navigate backwards like a ladder. Shortly thereafter you will find the bridge crossing. Its a small cement bridge and not as picturesque as the bridge down below. Crossing and going down the otherside is easier than going down the side you just climbed and there are some pretty vantage points as you descend. When you return to the original footbridge continue down to the intersection of rivers (dont cross the footbridge yet). Down below the bridge is the prettiest of all viewpoints and should not be missed. We did not hike the Audubon trail loop today because of the rain. Wheelbarrow run is less than a half mile...but footing is dicey, especially when wet.

We dropped by for a period of about 2 hours on a slightly rainy Wednesday in May, and it was awesome. I suspect it would have been a lot busier in better weather, but we had the place almost all to ourselves. Great trails, beautiful, and I mean BEAUTIFUL spots around the 'Tubs loop'. I wish we had a whole afternoon to enjoy it. As I said, I imagine this place is incredibly busy in nice weather, and it may take away from the experience, but for us, it was perfect. Absolutely free. Bathrooms are one step above an outhouse, but were clean. Hardly any garbage to speak of, and we picked up what little we saw. Well worth going to. 5/5...

This place was worth it quick easy walk to the main attraction areas. We went first thing in the morning before anyone was in the springs. The water was crystal clear and warm we visited in hot August. Super cute. We took a lot of wonderful pictures and enjoyed about an hour or so here.
Yarely D — Google review
Beautiful park to visit. Water level was very low in the 2nd weekend of October 2025 but still gorgeous for photos and relaxing near the water. Not wheelchair accessible. Would be slippery if snowing or raining. Multiple trails for hiking. Clean bathrooms. Two parking areas that hold about 20 cars each.
Frugal L — Google review
Absolutely amazing walk. It took us about 1h 30 to do the full walk. Plenty of bugs so bring bug spray. Also good hiking boots might be worth bringing also as it had just rained and the surface was slippy. I would recommend this area. Very nice indeed.

Seven Tubs Nature Area is a hidden gem in Pennsylvania. The glacial rock formations and waterfalls are absolutely beautiful, and the trails are peaceful and well-marked. I had a great experience—perfect for a quick nature escape or a longer hike if you want to explore deeper into the woods. Highly recommend going early for the best views and fewer crowds.

Seven Tubs is a very cool area to explore, it was extra beautiful with all the fall foliage. Can't wait to go back and explore more! If you are near the area I would recommend checking this area out.

Really cool spot if you like to hike. Definitely wear proper footwear. Lots of uneven / rough trails. We had a great time, except when I fell & almost slid down waterfall into the creek at the bottom 😂 We did 2.8 miles total out & back following the markers.

Isa was our waitress and she was amazing. Friendly, knowledgeable, and very personable. One of the best waitresses I've ever encountered!! The tater tots had the taste of oil that was used to cook multiple types of food. The route 66 burger lacked flavor. But Isa made the experience worth it.

Just ate at this restaurant after spending the day at the casino, and we had a great experience! First of all, our food tasted delicious and it was ready quickly! Secondly, our waitress Isa was incredible! My brother-in-law had a shake with his meal, which he didn’t finish and asked for a to-go cup. Isa not only brought the cup, but she brought some chocolate sauce and whipped cream and lined the inside of it before putting the remainder of the shake in! She was incredibly friendly, personable, and just an overall pleasure to be around! Isa, and the rest of the crew, we thank you for a great end to our day!
Diane D — Google review
Had two incidents in back-to-back weeks. First week we had a sit down meal after Party on the Patio. When the waitress was cleaning up, she ended up taking our friends keys and throwing them out. Obviously, I do not believe it was intentional but still a massive mistake that sent us into a panic for 1 1/2 hours. Our friend went back twice to look for her keys there (full well knowing that is the last place she remembers seeing them). On the first time, she didn’t find them but on the second time when the waitress from earlier checked the trash did she find them. Our second incident came a week later where we order milkshakes from the walk up kiosk and somehow they lost our order. We ended up waiting close to 30 minutes for our drinks that should have taken 10.

Our server Isa is a wonderful girl who was absolutely amazing. A very kind, courteous young lady who served us promptly. Thank you Isa! Food was excellent!

Restaurant
Ruth's Chris Steak House is a well-known upscale steakhouse chain that offers sizzling, butter-topped beef in an elegant setting. Located near the Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs, this American tradition is renowned for its perfectly cooked steaks and exceptional shrimp. The menu features a la carte options such as mushrooms, asparagus, and loaded baked potatoes, along with combo specials.
I've been here many times throughout my life and have been very satisfied each visit. I went on 5/25 with my boyfriend for our anniversary, put rose petals on the table, and they gave us a free little anniversary dessert and took a picture of us. It was very cute and I love little things like that!!! It makes the experience more special, so thank you to the staff for being sweet. And of course, the food was amazing! NY strip med rare is the way to go. And the garlic mashed potatoes are soooo good. Great place to come for any special occasion. 🥰❤️

Had a great dinner at Ruth’s Chris as always this location never fails us! The oysters were fresh, the lamb chops cooked perfectly, and the crème brûlée was delicious. Drinks were on point too. Big shoutout to our waiter Corey his service made the night even better!
Judy.B — Google review
Working at a fine dining restaurant as servers my bf and I come here to get spoiled, no joke! All of the server teams were super nice and helpful, if we had a question it was answered right away. Our server Mary, and the back server I forgot his name, were lovely people! All of the food we got was delicious! We ordered the bbq shrimp, calamari, and lobster soup to start. Calamari was interesting with the sweet chilli sauce on it and not on the side but so light and crunchy that way. The shrimp were delicious and we even used our bread to soak up the extra sauce, and the soup was very flavorfull. For entrees we split a port house and a bunch if sides. The steak was cooked perfectly with a nice char on the outside, but the sides were only alright today. Not sure if this is how they always come but the au graten potatoes were cubbed, not sliced, and were kind of hard in the middle still, but nothing wrong with the flavor. The lobster mac felt like it had a lot of green peppers in it compared to the last time we were here but thats just personal preference! And the asparagus was seasoned great but the hollandaise sauce tasted like cream with the smallest touch of mustard. The creme brule was a nice light way to end a big meal. All said 10/10 will be back!
Victoria D — Google review
The food, phenomenal. Our server Cory was on top of everything, as was his assistant. It was definitely pricey and the sides could’ve been bigger for the price. But we were full when we left. The kids menu is basically just smaller portions. My son has autism and is a picky eater and we were only able to get him fries that ended up being a pounds worth. I guess because that’s all he got it was charged as Julian as an entree and was $12. They should have at least had chicken fingers to accommodate kids. Not all kids eat stuffed chicken, steak, or salmon which were the offerings. The restaurant was located by the smoking section of the casino which was unfortunate. But the food, perfection. Bill was just shy of $400 with tip.

Shogun Japanese Restaurant is a delightful family-friendly destination that brings the vibrant flavors of Japan to life in a cozy and casual setting. Known for its extensive menu featuring over 200 options, this local gem offers an array of sushi, hibachi dishes, seafood, and steakhouse favorites. Diners can indulge in delicious appetizers like soups and salads before diving into hearty entrees such as teriyaki and tempura.
Celebrated a birthday here. Atmosphere was great. Bob, our hibachi chef was energetic and full of good energy. We had a great time here and the food was fresh and delicious. Drinks were great.

Amazing experience! Went here for my birthday and it was a blast! Absolutely love the Peppa Pig necklace and chopsticks they gave me, too. Great food, excellent experience!! Went again, third time is a charm! Still absolutely delicious food. I wasn't a huge fan of the dead stinging bug on the window sill next to me sitting in a pile of old crumbs. Would still go back for the food, but I'll survey the table and window first.

Love their sushi. Their nigri rolls especially. I've been coming here for the past year and whenever I am in town I will stop by Shogun. Sunday's are the best since sushi is 50% off happy hour. My favorite: -Eel nigri -Salmon nigiri -Smoked salmon nigiri -Yellowtail nigiri -Red Snapper nigiri -Tuna nigiri -Shrimp nigiri -Salmon roll -Orange River Roll -American Dream Roll -Sakura Roll -Spicy Crab Roll -Lobster Roll Pics are from multiple visits

I’ve gone here countless times, and after trying multiple sushi restaurants in the surrounding areas, Shogun is the best. The price is amazing (especially if you go during happy hour). The food (both sushi/hibachi, but I LOVE the sushi), is 10/10. The servers here are always so friendly and great at their jobs. I try something new every time I come and am NEVER disappointed. I always recommend it to everyone I know, and will continue to do so.

I really enjoyed the experience. The chefs were very Interactive and I've read online that the place is dated and respectfully disagree. It does have that old world look to it but I think it's part of the charm of the restaurant. Don't change anything

We came to this restaurant on our second night in town. The hostess sat us next to a window where we could watch the creek. As we were waiting for our food, we were able to watch the employees make sushi which was kind of cool. Our server was extremely dry and not friendly at all. We ordered a beef and asparagus appetizer which neither of us had seen before. This was sooo good. I ordered salmon hibachi, the person I was with got the duck. Both meals were well seasoned, had a lot of flavor, and had great portion sizes. The dollar amount for the meals weren't bad.

We were very happy with our meal here. The food was excellent and the staff was helpful and friendly. We would highly recommend checking this place out! We started with the Shogun Roll, which was delicious, then we ordered hibachi dinners. The portion sizes were quite large and everything was cooked very well. They were very good with the dietary needs that one of us had as well. Great place!
Matthew L — Google review
This place has severely gone downhill. My family and I have been coming here for years and have chatted with the owners multiple times. Unfortunately after my visit yesterday, I can confidently say I will not be returning here. We ordered 2 ginger salads and the dressing tasted like water when Shogun’s dressing used to be our favorite. The table was so sticky and the glass they gave me for my beer was filthy, not to mention the vent directly above us was covered in dust and dirt. When the sushi came, it was embarrassing. I have never had sushi served to me like this, it was incredibly small and falling apart. There was barely any rice around the outside and the pickled ginger they served with it is different than what they used to serve and it is terrible. I’m very disappointed in this place but I supposed they are taking the cheap route just like everyone else. Our server didn’t even check on us if we needed anything or if our food was okay. I will not be returning here ever again.

Mohegan Arena at Casey Plaza is a versatile sports arena in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, serving as the home for the Penguins and hosting various events like concerts, ice hockey games, WWE matches, and circuses. It also houses the Greater Wilkes-Barre Chamber of Commerce and is near attractions such as Wyoming Valley Mall and Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs Casino. The venue has a seating capacity of 8050 and has hosted diverse events.
We went to see the MercyMe concert with Zach Williams and Sam Wesley earlier in March. They were SO good!! It was almost a sold out show, so there were close to 9,000 people there. It's a HUGE arena with tons of seating. It was a very nice drive up there from my home in WV.

The arena is great! The suites are great! 10-12 seats inside suite and outside with overlooking arena. Ordered food and drinks. A little pricey! But great drinks!

Nice arena. Went there for a graduation ceremony. No beer allowed, maybe because it was a university graduation ceremony. Ample amount of parking space and an awesome location. Overall very nice.

Nice venue, but seats on the floor are super tight. Very small seats, tight against each other! MercyMe was awesome!

2 great events in the last few weeks. Cirque de Soliel and the WB Penguins special event day as the Carbondale UFOs . Both well organized and both filled with helpful associates. Food is pretty good for arena food.. The Crab Fries are tasty.

Awesome for a multitude of events. Easy in and out free parking with the option for paid premium parking. Vendor's have everything you need for a night at the hockey games. Can see most everything going on from any seat in the complex.

Been here many many times for hockey games (they did great for Monster Jam too!) but seeing Journey & Toto there was an incredible experience, wow! Although super crowded, you could still get around. Facilities are clean. How could anyone not like the Arena?
Rachel J — Google review
Went to a concert last night. Show was great. But the head of Beverage must have called out or something. When we arrived we went to get a beer. The beer was WARM. They must have just stocked or were too lazy to pull the cold ones upfront. So we decided to get a red wine a couple hours later. They only had half a bottle of Merlot. It was SKUNKED. I am convinced they ran out of red wine at this stand and pulled wine from a previous event. For what you are charging for drinks.....please be more respectful of people's hard earned money.

Very community oriented diner. Great customer service even down to the straws...very conscientious servers. Nice atmosphere and environment. Provides different places to sit. Very unique menu with food choices interesting enough to try. The Penicillin soup....Enjoyed the chilli nice proportion served. Beautiful side salad. The chicken with pasta not so appealing. That was just to much of pasta. Need additional fixing up....overall lovely place..

I stopped by Anthracite Saturday afternoon after a long work week. I wanted to find a spot that had a nice atmosphere and good vibes. This one did not disappoint. It was an intimate and lively atmosphere. The staff was extremely friendly. Mikayla approached me immediately and took very good care of me. Anthracite has some delicious sounding martinis on their menu. For the season there is a Pumpkin Spice martini and also a Peach Cobbler martini, both which sounded amazing. I had been craving an Espresso martini all week long, although I was very tempted to try one of the seasonal drinks. Mikayla made mine perfectly✨️ I only wanted an appetizer to munch on, so I ordered the Coconut Shrimp. The portion was extremely generous. It was yummy and the Pineapple sauce that came with it tasted home made. This was my first time trying Anthracite but it will not be my last. They had good vibes, good spirits, friendly staff, and (the part I like the most) it's a safe place for a single girl to sit alone and not be bothered by anyone and enjoy a nice afternoon nourishing myself. Thank you Anthracite! You have a new fan.

Pretty awesome menu, and pretty good price. Some items did however come out room temperature or colder. The food was well prepared and packed with flavor. Generous portions too. The service could use more work, and the wait for a table can take up to 30 minutes for larger groups. The parking is good as well.

If you want a quite dinner, eat at the bar in the original part of the Restaurant. Each day they have some type of special dinner option worth trying, from wing nite to all you-can-eat snow crab legs, (time limit on this one). Great employees and an owner that's been known to pitch in when things get hectic. He likes to introduce himself to new customers and check in with the long-term ones, on how they view the food and service. Good philosophy that keeps them coming back.

No heat at all in here to begin with, celery was a joke. Wings were as thick as my finger... i literally couldnt help but laugh at the lady when she put them in front of me. Service was ok. Think she could tell we were cold and the food sucked. Kids hot dog was a overcooked peice of leather. Will never be back here. $72 wasted. Still gave 20% tip because it aint the waitresses fault the food is garbage. I seriously couldnt believe how many people were here for how bad the food was. Terrible experience when all i wanted was a nice meal after work.

I haven't been here in years. I use to live in walking distance so naturally would eat there regularly. It's just as good as it was years ago! Ordered the wings with a Cajun ranch dry rub (get blue cheese to make it even better)! Country friend steak was delicious nice portion. Chicken pot pie was flaky, crusty, and everything a pot pie should be. Service was great, waitress was super fast! All in all great meal, this is a place you definitely won't leave hungry

Coal Street Park

Park
Coal Street Park is a vibrant public space that truly embodies the spirit of community and activity. With its baseball fields, basketball courts, and a playground designed for children of all ages, this park is always alive with energy. Families can often be seen enjoying the splash pad during summer days or cheering on local teams in spirited games. The park also features an ice skating rink that opens to the public on select days, adding to its appeal as a year-round destination for fun.
Great park! I have 2,3, and 10 year olds. They all had a blast. I wouldn't let my girls go play without me following them because there were a few broken parts, nothing too dangerous.
Leah H — Google review
Fun variety of playground equipment with several ramps for wheelchairs, fenced older and younger kid play areas. Equipment is a bit worn, parts have coating that is peeling, and there was some trash. Bathroom option is portapots.
Miriam M — Google review
an OK park especially when the splash pads are on. Does anybody know why they are off right now? Park needs tons of repairs and also can use some shade!
Kayla R — Google review
I imagine this park was great when it was built 20 years ago, but as it stands now this playground is in terrible disrepair. It's borderline unsafe. My younger kids had fun, but my older kids were bored. Do better City of Wilks-Barre.

Clean park, clean play equipment. The surrounding area is also clean. It features a basketball court. The ice rink is open on certain days to the public. The splash pads are unfortunately inoperable at this point. My daughter had a great time.

There's a sign that says "No loud music" and that's the first thing you hear. People don't know how to follow the rules, that's why they keep closing the parks. SMH.

This is a decent park. But it’s tired. Some playground equipment is broken. However, I would guess it’s the biggest playground in Wilkes-Barre. It has a little zip line, rock climbing wall and a bunch of slides. Heads-up only porta-potties available. No seating in the splash pad area. Bring a camp chair! This is the only splash pad in Wilkes-Barre area. Most locals go else where to cool off in the summer. If you here for basketball, baseball or soccer I’m sure this park gets the job done.

Breaker Brewing Company is a local microbrewery that takes pride in its craft beers and dedication to the hard-working people of NEPA's coal-mining region. Housed in a renovated schoolhouse, this brewery started as a nano brewery by two amateur brewers and has quickly expanded since 2009. The establishment offers an outdoor dining area and an outpost known as the 'Outpost,' serving their brewed beer and wine.
Neat brewpub in an old house. Food was excellent. We started with the pretzel and got the garlic dipping sauce. Then also had 2 crocks of French Onion soup. For meals we had the Thai orange chicken, Spring Thyme Pork, and a kids Mac and cheese. All excellent and cooked perfectly.

This place was better than advertised. Friendly service, the beers are very good and the food was excellent. My wife and I opted for the tuna poke bowl, very tasty and to keep it "light" we added the German potato salad on the side. Our son had the German pizza, that too was delicious. Chris our server was engaging, friendly and very patient with us as it was our first visit. We are traveling home to Ohio and found the brewery through Google maps. We hope to visit again. We also purchased some swag on the way out. This is a dog and family friendly place to eat and be merry. Cheers!!! Thank you again

Neat brewery in an old church and attached schoolhouse. They kept the vibe of the building, which adds to the appeal. We had poke bowls and they were good. We saw other food out and it all looked good with large portion sizes. The chocolate peanut butter porter was sweet and full. My other half had the North Hampton st DIPA and was happy. There is a large outdoor area and pups seem welcome. They have beer to go, live music on Sat

We stopped here for dinner while driving on 81. Google maps brought us in the back way and we were a little concerned. Everything ended up being perfect. Friendly service, great drinks, tasty food. They had no problem with some simple customization for make things allergy friendly for us. After some sampling of the beers and spirits and a chat with the owner, we decided to get some drinks to go as well. On the way out to 81 Google maps did us the kindness of taking us around front and we were able to see the beautiful exterior of this church turned brew pub.

I wish I got to check more of it out, but this place was awesome! Sat outside with our pup and he enjoyed watching everyone. Every beer we had was great. Best was the happy hour 10oz pours. We were able to try more at an affordable price as well, while not filling up on too much brews. The food was we had was great as well. Kid grilled cheese could have been an adults meal! All with very appealing prices as well. The historic aspect and decor of the building was the icing on the cake. don't think twice, stop by!

Parking is very limited when there is an event; was there for Octoberfest. Seasonal beer was good. Huge tent to watch bands and have a beer.
Chuck M — Google review
My son really enjoyed the chicken and waffles pizza. Very fun combo. The salad with the sliced steak & mushrooms was tasty, but seemed over salty and had lots of salty liquid (marinade) at the bottom of the bowl which I didn't like, nor did I enjoy the balsamic dressing as balsamic vinegrette usually has a sweetness and this was also overly salty to me. The steak tacos were good but the horseradish was a little overwhelming. The big Mac and cheese was tasty and piping hot and seemed it had the same cheese sauce as the nachos but with pickles added, which the server informed could not be omitted from the entree when we ordered.

Kevin, thanks for the great experience. Traveling from Atlanta and looking for good "buffalo" wings 🐔. We didn't find them here.. we found excellent wings here!!! Perfect fries. Crisp celery. Could not ask for better! Simply excellent.

Nice little spot that offers a surprisingly amazing pizza. I would give the pizza a perfect score from the type of dough to the sauce. The dough was a thick style that was chewy yet crispy... we came from old forge, and this pizza was better than most offerings in old forge. The wings were also very good! Stop in and give the frog pond pub a try, I promise you will not be disappointed.

Walked through door and greeted immediately with a hello and smile. Super clean and cozy atmosphere. The wings were amazing and the pizza was just as amazing. The owner was very personable and had no issue when we asked for extra crispy last minute. They go above and beyond. Next trip in from Florida I will definitely be back. My new pizza and wing place. Definitely give this place a try. You won’t regret it. Thank you for making our dining experience enjoyable. Denise, Evelyn and Cindy.

Ordered red garlic wings, waffle fries, and a small round pie. Orange crush and cherry kiss for drinks. The drinks weren’t bad but they weren’t exactly good either. Orange crushes are supposed to be made with fresh OJ but you can tell it wasn’t. The waffle fries and cheese were really good, good flavor and nicely cooked. The wings were nice and crispy without being over cooked. Sauce was good too. The pie was ok. Wasn’t a fan of the sauce. Had a good crust but the bottom was too soggy. They had 1 guy working the bar and being a server so service was on the slow side
Jesi A — Google review
The Frog Pond Pub is a no-frills establishment, located on a small side street (a parking lot is readily available on the opposite side of the street) and permeates with a genuine neighborhood atmosphere. The menu is small and consists mainly of bar food -- burgers, pizza, and wings, for example -- but the food is worth the visit. We arrived around 6:45 and were immediately greeted and seated. I ordered a dozen wings with six lathered on "sweet and sassy" sauce, and the remainder drenched with the "Kickin' Bourbon." The wings were plump and juicy. The sweet and sassy was tangy with moderate heat, as I expected it to be, but the Kickin' Bourbon was how a bourbon sauce should be. The bourbon flavor wasn't hidden among other spices, but was truly pronounced and amazing. My girlfriend ordered the chicken tenders which came with a side of fries. Although the fries were a bit overcooked, the tenders were crispy on the outside, while moist and tender on the inside. The restaurant looks as though it was once a large house, with two dining rooms which are completely separated from the bar area. The service was quick and friendly, adding to the local neighborhood feel. Want to relax while eating a great, simple meal? Hop on over to The Frog Pond Pub.
Darren S — Google review
We headed out to Frog Pond to try their highly rated wings. Tuesday is their wing nite. Each sauce required a minimum of 10 wings at 65 cents a wing. We ordered 10 wings of Bull Frog (butter, garlic parm sauce), Red Garlic (not a strong garlic flavor), Sweet N Sassy (mild stick to your fingers like honey sweet sauce). We ordered the wings extra crispy. The wings were larger than others and they cooked them perfectly extra crispy. The bull frog wings were the best in my opinion. Moving on....I tried their Sicilian pizza which is sold by the cut. I didn't quite understand it but if you order 1 cut...it's divided into 2 cuts. If you ordered 2 cuts then it would be divided into 4 and so on. I asked with onion. The pizza is pretty interesting. It's doughy, cheesy and had a nice flavor that I was trying to figure out. Their pizza is like a person that you aren't so sure about at first and then they actually grow on you.

Burger King is a globally recognized fast-food chain that specializes in serving delicious grilled burgers, crispy fries, and delightful shakes. With over 7,000 locations across the United States alone, this franchise continues to expand both domestically and internationally. Known for its unique recipes and family-friendly atmosphere, Burger King attracts more than 11 million customers daily worldwide. Recently, I had the pleasure of visiting a Burger King location in Wilkes-Barre after an unfortunate experience elsewhere.
Had a really pleasant experience at this Burger King today! I dined inside and I got chicken fries, french fries, mozzarella sticks, and a drink. The food was very warm and fresh. The staff was very friendly and attentive and seemed like they really enjoyed their job. The manager Preston was very helpful and patient with me as I was having trouble using my app, he took time to explain how it works and made sure I understood what I was doing. The store (including the restrooms) were pretty much spotless, which is rare to see in a fast food restaurant in my experience. I would definitely come back to this location next time I’m in the area. 10/10!

I ordered a 8 piece chicken nugget and it took 30 minutes just for that and they weren’t even busy. And that was specifically the only thing I ordered and they messed it up and gave me jalapeño poppers instead of an 8 piece chicken nugget. So I took pictures of what they gave me and took my receipt and the bag and brought it to the register and told them they never gave me my 8 piece and gave me jalapeño poppers instead of the 8 piece, Then they began saying they definitely put the 8 piece in there and I told them they didn’t and gave them proof and she goes “Ok” and walks away without a word and comes back with cold soggy chicken nuggets and THROWS IT on the counter and proceeds to say you can leave now. The service there was very rude and disrespectful and hey even messed up my order. Terrible!!
Vanessa S — Google review
Quite literally has to be THE worst Burger King I’ve ever been to. Placed an online order and waited 15 minutes in drive thru for it just for it to be messed up three seperate times. Went inside to explain for the third time how the sandwich was supposed to be made and the apparent “new employee” who was a child starting catching an attitude with me shaking his head and cursing under his breath. Straight disrespectful behavior, not a single manager in sight the entire hour of my life I wasted there. Worked in fast food for years, couldn’t believe how ignorant the people at this location were. Waste of time and money.

The french fries have no salt on them and taste like mop water. The chicken fries are hard like rocks. The whopper is room temperature with a cold bun. I had to park in front and wait for my food to be brought out. There were 3 cars ahead of me. A fellow customer next to me complained they were waiting for new fries because there's tasted disgusting. As it is I had to go in for sauce for my chicken fries. They didn't even give me any ketchup for my fries. I had to use my own at home. I should have just flushed $17 down the toilet instead of giving it to them for food.

Went through the drive thru and they closed 15 minutes early. I was polite and asked what time they actually closed so I wouldn't order late if they were closing. the workers caught an attitude with me. They then roll their eyes, aggressively told me to park and then proceeded to make my food all wrong, brought my food out giving me attitude and ignored me and rolled their eyes when I said thank you. La Tolteca Mexican Restaurant is a casual eatery and tequila bar that offers familiar Mexican dishes, signature drinks, and outdoor seating. Despite being crowded during peak hours, the restaurant managed to maintain a pleasant dining experience even when facing kitchen staffing challenges.
Food was absolutely amazing! Got the grilled pineapple guacamole, San Jose burrito, and chicken and spinach burrito. Everything was delicious. The chips and salsa also had great flavor. Service was exceptional and the mariachi band made for a fun evening.

Plenty of seating outside and inside. Was seated right away. Drinks and food were delivered quickly after ordering. The nachos were fresh and warm and the salsa was mild enough to not bother my tastebuds (doesn't like spicy foods). The staff was very friendly and quick about everything. Food was delicious and very filling. The guacamole was made at the tables on mobile carts.(didn't get guacamole but nice touch). Took a little bit to get the check but it was getting busier at that time. Highly recommend for something different and unique other then chain restaurants!

I hate to be the person to close a restaurant down, but we left one other restaurant that closed the kitchen early and another one that didn't even greet us at the table for 10 minutes and we left. We went to La Tolteca about 45 minutes prior to closing and were sat, had drinks, ordered and ate within a half hour. Everyone still smiled and we had awesome service. We split the molcajete and it was amazing. They said it feeds two, but it could be four as we took half home. I'll definitely be going back. And make sure to ask for the spicy sauce!

La Tolteca is truly a gem! From the moment you walk in, the warm and inviting atmosphere sets the tone for a great experience. The staff is attentive, friendly, and makes you feel like a welcomed guest rather than just a customer. The food is absolutely outstanding—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The menu has a wide variety of authentic Mexican dishes, and every plate I’ve tried has been delicious and satisfying. Portions are generous, and you can really taste the quality and care that goes into each dish. Their salsa and chips are addicting, and the entrees are bursting with authentic flavors that make you want to come back again and again. Service is consistently excellent—drinks are refilled quickly, food arrives hot, and the team checks in without being overbearing. Prices are very reasonable for the quality and portion sizes you receive, making it a great value for families, groups, or even a casual dinner out. The restaurant is clean, comfortable, and has a great atmosphere. Whether you’re there for a quick lunch or celebrating with friends and family. La Tolteca hits all the marks: food, service, atmosphere, and value. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves authentic Mexican cuisine and a fantastic dining experience.

Isabella is an intimate establishment that offers a diverse selection of New American cuisine, including delectable dishes like truffle mac 'n' cheese and specialty burgers. The standout component of the dining experience is the delightful dessert, particularly the highly recommended lemon coconut cake. While the meals are satisfactory, they fail to impress considering their price point. Although the server was pleasant, their service lacked attentiveness on a relatively quiet evening.
They have a wide selection on their menu! I got the turkey melt sandwich- it was DELICIOUS!! the service was great, very nice atmosphere- family operated… I’m all about supporting family owned businesses! - I definitely would recommend and I will come back again!

My fiancé and I came to this spot and let me just say: whoever’s running the kitchen is not playing around. Seasonal menu? More like seasonal serve. We started with the crab-stuffed shrimp, dubbed “Moby Dick Shrimp”. These were not your average shrimp, these were chonky. Like, borderline lobster energy. Juicy, loaded with crab, and served with the most aesthetic purple flower garnish. I almost didn’t want to touch it… but then I did. Aggressively. In addition to our giant shrimp came the roasted romaine salad. I’m not exaggerating when I say it turned lettuce into a main character. Smoky, crispy, perfectly dressed. It honestly gave steak vibes without the guilt. Now, onto the main course: the stuffed Chilean sea bass. This fish was soft, buttery, and flaky in the most “did that just melt in my mouth?” way. The stuffing? Herby and slightly rich. It kinda felt like a hug from Poseidon. I’d eat it again on the daily if I could. Obviously we ended with our usual dessert favorites: affogato for me / cannoli + espresso for my fiancé. Before the season changes and this lineup disappears, I’d recommend going.

Isabella's did an amazing job for my daughter's wedding. The staff was responsive and so helpful from the first phone call to request the date to the final goodbye at the end of the evening. The food is delicious, the dining room was set up beautifully and the ambiance was perfect. The real show stopper was truly the attentive and very kind staff. They were so very welcoming to us. Despite how busy they were, they never stopped smiling. They were genuinely kind to our party. I cannot give a higher rating or I would! I highly recommend Isabella's if you want great food, friendly staff and a beautiful and enjoyable environment! Thanks again Isabella's!

Came here for lunch. As far as I can tell, this restaurant exhibits high quality cuisine and exceptional service. I got the turkey lunch (an early thanksgiving treat) and the turkey was roasted perfectly, so that it was soft and flavorful. Of course the mashed potatoes and gravy were a hit. Service was superb. The staff was kind and quick. We will be coming back for dinner.

Wow! Let me tell you this restaurant is absolutely phenomenal! Wonderful selection of food. Their Italian dishes offer a delightful, home-style taste.. The risotto is to die for! I also love their soup and sandwich during lunch, so many choices!. I do recommend everyone to stop by here.

A staple in the northeastern Pennsylvania cuisine scene. White tablecloth fine dining, menu excellent , genuinely welcoming.. they have a cozy little bar for a table for two on a busy night. Staff is wonderful, truly great service and I believe there is a gentleman that opens the door for the guests ( at least that's what my mom told me ). Also I'd like to know that they chose to put those tablecloth mats on each table, so your plates don't ping off the tabletop, things sit nice, comfy on the elbows.. As a dweeb, I take notice of those extra touches.. just sayin' Delicious traditional dishes, but with a real touch of genuine. They put craft and dedication to cooking these traditional dishes. The staff is one of the finest in the area, service was outstanding I would say make sure to order the special. Even though you might not know what it is, you can trust that this kitchen will deliver an amazing plate. Recently I went there with my parents, and they reminded me to wear something nice and make sure I don't have any holes in my jeans.. haha! That's the kind of place this is in a great way. Isabella has been doing it great for I would say almost 20 years one of my best friends used to cook their way back when and was always regarded as a very great kitchen in the area. Always a great choice. Thank you very much Isabella I will see you again! See you around! - JD∆

First off, I have eaten all over the country and this place easily slipped into my top 10 as far as food, service and overall atmosphere. I will 1000% be visiting this restaurant again. I recommend anyone who lives in the area (or even outside the area) to visit this amazing place at some point. Could not be more please with the entire experience.
Michael F — Google review
The waitress seemed not familiar with the menu. We had to ask if the re were specials. We had to ask the price of the specials. We are not intimidated to ask the price. Why isn’t given. The rest of prices are listed. We asked for romaine instead of lawn cropping and were charged an up charge. The “romaine substitution” we asked for was an up charge of $2 This may sound petty but the salad was very small, nothing more than lettuce on a plate. No tomatoes, nothing more. I have been there a few years ago. It has now almost all Italian. The chicken Giovanni was greasy. My scallop and shrimp over pasta was good. Has the restaurant been sold to a new owner and chef

The Lands at Hillside Farms in Kingston Township is a popular destination for families and ice cream enthusiasts. Visitors can enjoy a delightful selection of ice cream while taking a leisurely stroll around the property to see various animals. The farm offers more than just animal encounters, with a charming old barn to explore and a creek where kids can play. Inside the shop, guests can purchase their own milk products and browse through an assortment of decorative items.
The store was absolutely adorable. The chocolate milk is outstanding. I got a cow vase that I’m in love with for $30. Super cute stuff throughout. Candy, toys, baby stuff, clothes, decorations, etc. We accidentally broke something while in the store and the worker was SUPER polite about it, even though we offered to pay for the broken item, they declined. the animals were all super sweet and well kept. Definitely worth stopping by to check out!

What a gem of a place! We stopped by for ice cream and ended up spent awhile just soaking in the charm. I got the cookie dough and wow—it seriously tasted like they made the vanilla and cookie dough from scratch just for me. So fresh, so creamy, absolutely delicious. The kids had a blast visiting the animals and exploring the grounds. We really appreciated the thoughtful benches to sit and enjoy our treats, covered areas for shade (or rain!), and a beautiful man-made stream that made the whole place feel peaceful and fun at the same time. The little shops were full of unique finds. I especially loved a gorgeous birdbath I spotted. Friendly, welcoming service tied everything together. Yes, we had to wait in line, but it was well worth it. We’ll definitely be back!

This was the cutest farm and store. We also had ice cream. We bought hone made soaps, candy, fudge, shirt and some Mothers Day stuff, and Easter basket fillers. Beautiful shop.

The Lands at Hillside Farms is a place that everyone should visit. Located in Shavertown, PA., and just off of the expressway sits this home away from home. They have a variety of foods, fresh ice cream, and milk. There are antiques and small trails too. You can also sit under the beautiful covered pavilion and enjoy your ice cream and snacks. They also have Dubai Chocolate in the refrigerated cooler supplied by 3SnowFlakesBaking on @threads. If it wasn't for seeing her post I would have missed this great place. I also want to say the young girl at the dairy register was so kind and helpful. She was knowledgeable, and kind and even personally greeted the young children who were there for a visit. We will be back with a cooler of ice for more things we want to get.

I’ve been coming here since 2013 and I cannot recommend this place to all my friends and family enough. I try to still visit every few years because the milk and ice cream are worth it! Both of these photos are a few years apart and the ice cream is still as fantastic as ever.

Visitors can expect an eerie and nostalgic experience as they explore the diverse and unusual offerings. This was easily one of the coolest stores I've ever been in. Like the way I gasped when I walked in. Love love the aesthetic and vibes, and so much to look at!! My literal only complaint is that I wish I brought more money to buy more!! Definitely need to take the hour drive back out soon!! Both the ladies working were also so so nice!

Very cool place with the strange and unusual. Great attraction for families and individuals to see cool and unexpected things. The cafe is delicious and out of this world as well. A high recommendation for anyone who loves unusual.
Tavin B — Google review
"Strange & Unusual" is exactly what you will get with this unique coffee place that offers all varieties of oddities. As I've been told, and from what I've experienced, Harry Potter themes begin in September. I was not disappointed with my butterbeer latte in the least. Wizards are found on the wall, moving from picture to picture...as well as a Hippogriff and Owl by the batista's area. Order a beverage and stay for a "spell"....as magic is afoot in this quirky little shop. This was not a shop that I regretted trying out. It is a unique experience.

Park
Nature & Parks
Kirby Park, a 52-acre wooded park located in Wilkes-Barre, is a popular recreational spot with various amenities. Donated by the Kirby Family, it features sports facilities, trails, picnic pavilions, and a pond. The park hosts events like the Cherry Blossom festival and annual fireworks display. Visitors can enjoy the lush green manicured grass, benches by the pond, playground for kids, and covered areas for relaxation.
So this is a large property with pond, ball fields, tennis courts, playgrounds and more. The park is interconnected to other parks along the river/Levee trail system. Park was clean, well maintained and well lit. I had full bars of Verizon 4G LTE Roaming.
Will H — Google review
Kirby Park is beautifully maintained and is thriving with life. The squirrels are very active and playful in the old growth trees that are throughout the park. There is a trail that circles the entire park with hills on both sides. A playground for the children. Multiple places to host gatherings. Volleyball nets in the summer as well as tennis courts. A pond that often has ducks and geese as well as some small minnows. The rest of the park is a lot of open space and grassy areas which give a lot of space for running around or open play.
Laura B — Google review
My kids love this park, and frankly, so do I. There are a large variety of fun activities to do in the playground and plenty of grass to frolic on. Best of all, is the gorgeous, placid lake with picnic benches near it. You can watch ducks gently floating on the calm waters and if you're lucky, you might spot the turtles when they sneak out. There is a trail for biking ( or walking!) near the water.
Shaina K — Google review
They've done a lot to this park over the years to make it nice. Really miss the old jungle gyms as it feels like there isn't enough things for kids to actually climb on especially when the park is busy. The pond is always absolutely disgusting with garbage and debris cluttering up the murky water. They do stock this pond with fish but with how gross it is seems like a waste because you could never eat what you catch there but it is a good spot for kids to try fishing for the first time. The smaller fish will nibble at almost anything. Corn nibblets work exceptionally well.
Alexx S — Google review
Such a beautiful park! Nice place to walk around and enjoy nature!

Still one of the best parks in our area, this park on a nice day always has people in it. The leaves make for great walking trails, park center has things for kids and family's it's has a snack stand a pond, football, baseball and tennis. I even saw a Frisbee golf course. It's connected to millennium Riverfront event area. Wita frat view of the courthouse. We'll worth the trip. Also lots of picknick area and free parking.
Jason R — Google review
Wow has this park changed. Although there is still work to be done the park is a gem for Wilkes-Barre and surrounding communities. The addition-upgrades to the playground for the children are top notch. The beautiful trees provided awesome shade on a summer day. The walking trails and grassy areas just invite you to enjoy a day or couple of hours of relaxation.

Theaters
Located in Wilkes-Barre, the F.M. Kirby Center for the Performing Arts is a historic art deco theater built in 1938. It offers a variety of entertainment including films, concerts, and kids' shows. The center's captivating architecture features five large lobbies, tall columns, and ornate doors and windows.
Small venue offers fantastic views of the stage. Good accoustics. Security is efficient but not stupid (no requirement for clear bags, for example). Seats are comfortable and spaced well. Concessions are pricey, but c'est la vie.

Beautiful historic theater in the heart of Wilkes-Barre Pennsylvania. Though the sound could've been a lil bit better it was still nice to listen to live music. Oh and the seating arrangement is a bit tight but still had fun!

Beautiful restoration of an Art Deco building. Every member of the staff from box office to security and ushers are very helpful and friendly. I will go back.
Mike F — Google review
Went to see The Fab Four on Saturday, October 12th at The Kirby. I haven't been there in so many years. I believe the theater was built the year after my father was born in 1938. The first time I was ever at the Kirby (Paramount Theater) was when my Dad (Sam Liguori) took me to see The Molly Maguires movie in 1970, I believe. It was beautiful then and still is!! The performance was wonderful and a lot of fun, but being at the Kirby really brought back a wonderful memory!!

I had drove to this location from williamsport to see a show with my youngest daughter, only to find I had a scam or something happen. I approached the ticket booth and was helped by a young lady named Molly who helped me until we realized that more than likely I was scammed. I showed her all the things I was sent from stubhub and ticketmaster. She was super patient and helpful, please be advised, order from the location or ticketmaster specifically. @ Molly thank you for helping my night with my little girl go so well.

Good Morning Wilkes-Barre, PA! I'm just passing through, what a great river front park system and an awesome way to start your day. This is an interconnected park system with multiple parking options on both sides of the river. I had full bars of Verizon 4G LTE Roaming.

Great place and the concerts are a great thing. Scranton needs to do stuff like this . I wish they had more concerts scheduled. Why are there no shows in August and September? Even if just local cover bands or book some of the tribute acts that Mohegan sun books. It's an awesome thing to have concerts here for free

This is a beautiful addition to the city. The views of the river, courthouse, and Market street bridge are spectacular. The biggest thing lacking in this are is outdoor spaces and trees so we are lucky to have this. I've only been here during the day or the evening concerts in the summer but it seems like a fairly safe area. There is a police presence during events. Not so much during normal times but there are typically enough other people nearby to feel safe. A few more seating areas, garbage cans, and perhaps some drinking fountains and restrooms along the paths would greatly improve the usefulness of the commons but I understand the lack of amenities to be a result of the areas over the top heroin problem. Overall I would recommend this area to anyone looking for some fresh air and or greenery!

Gyro restaurant
This Greek restaurant, King of Kings Gyros And The Cheesesteak Factory, offers polite service and a knowledgeable staff. Customers can enjoy a variety of dishes including the Happenings Cheese Steak with approximately 2 pounds of ribeye or gyro meat, two types of pierogi, hot and sweet sauce, and plenty of cheese. The bun is soft and fresh-tasting. Overall, this place receives high praise and is recommended for everyone to try.
I arrived very hungry about 5 minutes before closing, the place was already all cleaned up and they still served me. I felt bad but they were more than happy to make a gyro for me. It was my first ever gyro and it was delicious. The atmosphere felt very welcoming and friendly. I will definitely come back if I'm ever in town again.

So this is my first time in the area. I never had cheese steak nachos. I was so excited to try them. I ordered this on GrubHub and it was a waste of my money. The chips were stale. It was just a mess. It was jalapeño juice all over the bag it wasn’t packed properly. It was a waste of money

I love gyros. This is the first place I've been too where the gyros had the thickest slices of lamb, fresh vegetables and was so good. I usually ask for extra tzatziki sauce and didn't this time, that would be the only thing I would change these gyros are so good and worth every cent. They were so filling I ate one around 12 in the afternoon and didn't eat again the rest of the day.

Italian restaurant
Cafe Toscana is a Tuscan-style trattoria and bar located in downtown Wilkes-Barre, offering a sophisticated dining experience with white-tablecloth service. The restaurant serves classic Italian dishes such as risotto alongside tried and true family recipes that capture the essence of Tuscany. It provides an Old World ambiance and is situated at One Public Square, making it easily accessible for visitors exploring the area.
So we accidentally get to this town which with all do respect did not seem to be the best quality place on this planet. We asked for good place to eat and were recommended to here. Food is very good if not better. The fish we had, were both excellent, nothing to complained as it was very well cooked seasoned and freshly served. Starters were also excellent. We both had shrimp, but different styles. Sauces were delicious. Service is ok, but upscale place like, therefore don’t count on too much friendly easy going chats. Everything was correct and polite. I guess they want it this way, which is good. The place is not cheap, but thought the quality we got, deserved the money.

The food was absolutely amazing The service was the best ever. Ada The hostess was wonderful our waitress was fantastic The food was delicious reservations I recommended either through them or through open table I did ours via open table

We were immediately greeted/attended. Drinks were on the strong side and not in a good way. Calamari was really tender and the dipping sauce was really good. Ravioli and tortellini were both delicious. The shrimp Toscana was decent, sauce was much too light so I ended up adding the remaining dipping sauce from the calamari to the pasta and it made it great. The shrimp were reasonably sized. Crème brûlée had great flavor but the sugar wasn’t flammed enough so it didn’t have that nice crack when you dig into it. Cheesecake was good. Mexican coffee was really good. Service was amazing. Very attentive without being pushy. There was always someone to refill our water/ask if we wanted another drink. Staff was also quick to clear the table from plates. Prices are reasonable considering the quality. Have gone 3x since my first visit and the calamari never disappoints. Their drinks are way too strong/bitter
Jesi A — Google review
Authentic Italian food. I came here around 2019 and loved it. I was concerned it might not be the same; however I was just as impressed as before. The lasagna might have even increased in flavor and overall quality since last time. The braised beef ravioli is also a delectable meal. Only problem was there were only two servers for the whole restaurant, so it was a little slow - no fault to them. Overall, this is a great place for a dinner date. Dress up and come hungry. It's a comfy atmosphere with your classic Italian restaurant feel.

Tried this mom & pop pizza place today and it was pretty damn good.👍🏻 I had never been here before but I've driven by it many times before driving down Wyoming Avenue. Had a few slices of pizza one chicken wing, a chicken bacon ranch, and the other a broccoli tomato onion. Gotta say some of the best chicken pizza I've had in the valley! The veggie slice was ok but needed more cheese on it and less of a crust. Also ordered the garlic knots and only got about 4-5 small ones in an order but they were really good, and the pasta sauce that came with them was excellent. Overall I paid $18.00 for 3 slices, an order of garlic knots, and a bottled water which was pretty expensive but for the quality of the food and how good it tasted it was pretty worth it. I told them if it tasted good I would come back for a full pizza next time.

I’ve been coming here since I was a kid, I love this NYC style pizza it’s really good, prices are pretty reasonable too great place to grab a quick slice!

Lino’s Pizza and Italian Restaurant is a small dining establishment on Wyoming Avenue in Kingston, PA, consisting of about 5-6 booths and a handful of tables. While a display counter features several pizzas, strombolis, calzones, garlic knots, and slices of tres leche cake, one could also order subs as well as seafood and pasta dishes. We arrived shortly before 7 p.m. on a Friday evening and had our choice of tables, as only one was occupied at the time. There were several other customers present who appeared to be ordering takeout. We took our time looking at the online menu before ordering an eggplant parmesan sub and an Italian stromboli. Although bottles of soft drinks, water, Gatorade and iced tea are available, we decided to go with a fountain soda instead. The sub was delicious, with plenty of eggplant. The bun was fresh, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The sauce was also very good. The sub was also the perfect size, not too big to waste, nor was it small enough to leave one wanting more. The Italian stromboli was also pleasing. Again, the dough was fresh and filled with plenty of mozzarella cheese. The side of marinara dipping sauce was quite tangy and smooth. My only recommendation would be to add more ham and salami, as it appeared there was only one slice of each. The stromboli was good enough that I wouldn’t mind  paying a couple dollars more than the listed price of $7.95 if more meat was offered Members of the staff were soft spoken but polite and gentlemanly. They were efficient with taking our order, and we only had to wait about 10 minutes before our meals arrived. The place was very clean and inviting. Lino’s was good enough for me to return and try some of their selections of pizzas. If you’re looking for a quick and satisfying bite to eat, give the establishment a try. The place also opens at 10 a.m. daily (with the exception of Sundays, when it’s closed), so it would also be a perfect place for lunch. I’d also recommend visiting their website prior to arriving, as there are many selections on their menu featuring different sized portions. Finally, Lino’s is conveniently located next door to Manning’s Farmhouse Ice Cream Shoppe, which would make for a perfect choice for dessert after a scrumptious meal.

Sandwich shop
Gift shop
Circles on the Square is a popular take-out sandwich shop and novelty store in downtown Wilkes-Barre, drawing locals and visitors alike. The menu offers a wide variety of sandwiches and salads, with options for breakfast as well. The owners, Phil and Steve, fulfilled their dream of opening this business after returning home in 1985. Half of the store is dedicated to food while the other half features fun novelties.
It took me way too long to finally go to this local bodega esq place. They explain how to order on the menu board and they have a great selection of sandwiches and salads. I was on the hunt for a breakfast sandwich so I tried the bacon egg and cheese on an everything bagel. The bacon was nice and crispy, eggs light and fluffy and the cheese was nice and gooey. 10/10 breakfast sandwich and now I’ll need to try a hoagie and a salad.
Veronica M — Google review
I would say the food is good especially the mac & cheese, but the atmosphere is not friendly or welcoming. The prices are a little steep for a sandwich specially for a small sandwich. This would not be my first choice for lunch or breakfast. But I will choose it if I have no other choice cause the food is actually pretty decent
Pete M — Google review
Don't let the choices overwhelm you, everyone who works here is incredibly friendly and will help you customize your perfect sandwich if that's what you're after. The daily specials are fun to try. Their house-made macaroni and cheese is amazing.

The everything bagel I had was the best bagel I've had in the area! And the egg and cheese sandwich on a poppy seed kaiser roll was exactly what I needed that morning. Will definitely visit again for lunch!

I took the recommendation from the employee there! Such a good choice and I’ll be back! Took legit 1 bite and was like wow this is worth it!!

Great variety and selection of sandwiches! Call ahead and your order will be ready for pick up. I got the #65 Tuna, so delicious and the bread is to die for! The shop is cute as well with lots of local baked goods and trinkets.

The food is always fresh and there is definitely something for everyone on the menu. There are only a couple small tables outside, no indoor seating. Best to order and take to go.

I wish I could give this place more stars but last few times I’ve gone, I’ve had items put on my sandwiches I never mentioned to begin with. Love this business but thoroughly disappointed anymore.

Movie theater
R/C Wilkes Barre Movies 14 is a 14-screen movie theater located in Wilkes-Barre, PA. It showcases first-run feature films with digital projection and RealD 3D technology. The theater offers amenities such as stadium seating, arcade games, party rooms, high-back rocking chairs, and a concession area. Visitors have praised the cleanliness of the theater and its affordable pricing. Some have also enjoyed unique experiences like D-BOX seating with customizable chair movements.
The staff has always been nice, the rewards program is a great addition, the staff don't ever ask about it or offer it, which I think should be implemented when people visit. The experience here has always been a pleasant one. I also want to give props to Justin at the ticketing booth 9/7/2025 7:30pm and comend him for his patience. An older lady was practically screaming at him, he explained to her the movie she wanted to see at a certain time wasn't showing at the time she thought. His professionalism didn't go unnoticed and for a teenager or young adult he is a great example to many older adults who lack emotional intelligence and can't hold their composure during scenarios like this (lady buying a ticket).

OK the entrance is really nice.but The staff are extremely nice. The movie theater has very comfortable seats but the hallway to the bathrooms look like they’re they’re ripped and more than half of the arcade games do not work but everything else about the place is good, and the only reason why I put a three star because of the arcade please fix it.

Went Sunday 10/5/25 to see conjuring last rites. First of all there were about 8 kids standing behind the counter doing absolutely nothing, with no adult manager or anything to be found. One I might add, wish I got their name because I’d put them on blast stood there making a dripping noise with their mouth while I was trying to order food. Made me incredibly anxious. Second they had chicken tenders on the menu but said they did not have them I’m sure it was because no body there was old enough to run the deep fryer. So I bought pretzel bites they were gross had been cooked hours ago. With all the people standing around you would think the food could be fresh. Went into the theater and floor was so sticky you stuck to it. It’s a shame it’s the only theater in the area. Hope management reads this. Do better!
K S — Google review
The only theater in the area unless you wanna drive 30 min to cinemark or check out a drive in. Its not terrible, but the hot food is not worth the price at all (and i know for movie theaters overpriced generally the case but its pretty bad here). Stick to candy snacks and popcorn if you really want to. Seats are comfy enough at least! But i don't think the bathrooms have been updated in at least 20 years lol.

In town for business and came across this place. Ordered the lamb, great presentation, but not alot of flavor. The server, host and manager were very attentive and the atmosphere was okay(too cold). I’d give them another try, just not the lamb dish. Dessert, tiramisu was just okay. Was expecting more flavor… I finished it, but wasn’t really impressed with this selection.

The food and drinks were delicious and presented beautifully! We had a great time and will definitely be back!

Heard good things about this place. Had a date for two on a birthday. Got the steak feature which was supposed to be 32 oz of prime rib. The steak itself was more than half grizzle and fat. The potatoes were undercooked and still chewy. The wedge salads were warm and brown. The meal itself without any other drinks or appetizers was $130. I never leave bad reviews but I feel taken advantage of. The total bill with tip was $250 for two people. Sad and disappointed, won’t be going back.

My friends and I went for the "girl dinner." Unfortunately It was a little underwhelming and portions were extremely small. One of my friends ordered a new York strip meal and she really enjoyed it. I would like to go back and try a meal, but was unimpressed with girl dinner 🥺 Drinks, however, we're yummy and made well.

Was super excited to come here for my mothers birthday. We drove 43 minutes from our airbnb bc this place looked so beautiful and had amazing reviews. We arrived at 7:34, we were sat around 7:38. We were not greeted until 8:05, hello??? We didn’t get drinks until 8:36! Mind you, there we 4 other visible tables, to other servers, 2 eating dessert, 1 with entrees. So not busy. Appetizers around 8:40 maybe. We were supposed to get bread, we had to ask another server for bread bc we had no drinks and no appetizers for 40 minutes at this point. Mom got a drink she took a sip of and didn’t like, asked to have it removed. It was supposed to be a pear drink and it tasted very little of pear. The calamari was bottom of the bag leftovers, will say food is cooked very well and tastes great! But it was clearly the leftovers. Mostly fried veggies. Dinner finally arrives and mom’s salmon is fried to living hell. The shrimp scampi was very tasteful, but my shrimp was clearly overcooked. It’s a super high end place, great ambiance, but the server we paid absolutely no attention to us. We had said it’s my mom’s birthday! Wouldn’t you want to make it extra special, we were gonna tip big! Mom had to go talk to the manager because she was so upset, she didn’t want to embarrass us because she knew we worked hard to find such a nice place for her. The manager was super nice she said, apologized for such a crappy birthday dinner, and settled the bill, which by the way the server left the drink on that my mom had a single sip of. The server failed to tell us originally that the meal my mom wanted the kitchen had run out of. Overall we left really unhappy. Forgot to mention an other table was sat about 2 minutes after we were. They left 25 minutes in to waiting for the server to greet them. We honestly should have followed their lead.

Abide Coffeehouse, located on Public Square, offers a diverse drink menu with specialties like apple pie chai. Despite its small size, it's a specialty coffee shop that sources high-quality green beans and serves delicious decaf. The spacious and clean interior features cozy couches and sturdy tables with various seating styles. The staff is warm, friendly, and genuine, making it a great place to support regional businesses.
Abide is my favorite local coffee shop. The atmosphere and aesthetic is top notch and makes you feel welcome and comfortable. The staff are always nice and inviting. The menu is great. I don’t drink coffee anymore but they have many tea options that are very tasty. My current favorite is the Sunshine Tea. I love how inclusive and diverse this space is. They allow pets in as well so it’s always nice when I’m sitting there reading and enjoying my tea to see the furry friends come in. 10/10

It is in city so street parking only, I think. We're visiting from Syracuse. Heavy college vibes. The barista was friendly enough. It was a holiday, Columbus Day, so kinda busy for a Monday afternoon. Hubby got brewed coffee and I got a cortado. Very nicely done. Also bought a scone. Blueberry. Warmed up. Very nice too.

I recently moved to the area and made it my mission to find a good coffee spot. Abide was, for sure, well out of my neck of the woods but I was close and wanted to stop in. It is the quintessential coffee hang out. The staff were super friendly and didn't mind my giving recommendations. The atmosphere was casual coffee house. It reminded me of a place I used to frequent in college with the same vibe. Everything was nice and clean and I mean .. how can you not absolutely love a place that serves a Nutella chai!

Such a cute and cozy space. Staff is always friendly and welcoming. The cheese cake cold brew and campfire/fireside(can't remember the exact name) coffee are amazing! The baked goods they offer are also delicious! I'm serious... Try a brownie or salted chocolate chip cookie and thank me later!!! I love stopping in after a trip to the Library. The convenience of their location is the best.

The SPCA of Luzerne County is a wonderful place for animal lovers and potential pet adopters. Over the years, many have found their perfect companions here, including cats and dogs. One recent adopter shared their joy in welcoming Ace into their home, praising not only the friendly atmosphere but also the knowledgeable volunteers who genuinely care for each animal. Visitors often notice that animals are present in various offices, complete with cozy beds and toys, which reflects the nurturing environment at this shelter.
Thank you for the kindness and compassion you showed when I adopted Jessie. After 1 year she is in her forever home. She shows me loyalty and is very loveable. We walk our big back yard at least 6 to 7 times a day where everyday she experiences new smells. She loves our big front porch and her favorite game is tug of war. She learned to command on sit so far, working on other tricks too.

Great experience. Everyone was very friendly and answered a lot of questions. This was my first visit. I would be happy to adopt a dog from this place. I got a great sweat shirt from their Facebook page. I is custom with my dogs name. The sweat shirt is still on sale. Very soft and true to size.
Barb Y — Google review
Worst experience of introducing two dogs ever. The first trial was great. It was a slow introduction with walking both dogs and they did fine. The second introduction last about 2 minutes because the girls (different ones as compared to the first meeting) from the SPCA let the very active Pit Bull run up to my dog and go face to face immediately. I had instructed them that my dog was very nervous and it had to be a slow introduction. The girl had no control over the Pit Bull and it didn’t go well. I have had multiple dogs, including Pit Bulls over the years and they showed that they have zero knowledge of dog introduction. I couldn’t believe it. It was as if the girls had zero training. Now the dog will lose out on a great home because of their incompetence. Very disappointed with the staff.
James S — Google review
Did you know if you choose to have your old dog put down at the spca they absolutely refuse to allow you to go back with your dog and be with him while they put him to sleep. And that is one of the most vile and disgusting things I have ever seen. What terrible people you are who makes these decisions. You run a place for animals but care nothing for the comfort and actual care of these animals. Gross
Amber — Google review
Over the past several years, I’ve adopted 2 cats from the SPCA…best cats ever! Most recent adoption was a dog. I absolutely love Ace! He is so great! I was so very impressed with the volunteers! So friendly, extremely well-versed on each animal, and they take such great care of the animals there. I thought it was a great sign, each time I went there (total of 4) before deciding on Ace, they had an animal in the office. Walking along the corridor each i office I looked in had an animal bed and toys. For how many animals they have to care for, the place was very well kept. Very grateful for all they do! Consider adopting rather than purchasing from a store. If you can’t adopt, consider a donation, every bit helps!

After an exhilarating day of volleyball, the team found a gem in Januzzi's Pizza & Subs, where they managed to cut their wait time from an hour to just 20 minutes! The pizza was nothing short of heavenly, enjoyed al fresco on the charming streets of Wilkes Barre. With friendly service and generous portions, it felt like home away from home. Even a mother’s Italian cooking couldn’t compete with the deliciousness served here!
Very accommodating, big portions, upfront about availability, friendly service, even though I went there before the evening rush, I didn't feel like I would be there forever because it was slow. I took my French fries to go and wasn't charged for modifications to my spaghetti dinner. There was a completely cheese-free pizza but I guess it didn't sell well. Personally, I miss it.
Amanda P — Google review
Let me start with I've never had a problem before, and I loved eating there . But now I ordered a pan pizza and it literally tasted like flour like they put to much on the pan before placing the dough in it. There was no tast to the pizza couldn't even taste the cheese or sauce. It's almost like I got an older that someone didn't pick up and they gave it to me. I asked for the wings to be fried hard and they weren't even done, I literally had to place them in my air fryer to finish cooking them. The food was cold. I'm extremely disappointed 😞 I feel as though they should make this right. I still have the pizza. Also they said 45 minutes to a hour, it was a over an hour and a half u till it got delivered I even gave the person 5 for a tip so I paid 40 for my meal to turn out like this.

After a long day of volleyball me and my entire team needed a place to pig out. Luckily my coach stumbled upon Januzzi and they magically cut their wait time down from 1 hour to just 20 minutes in order that we could get going on our way home. The pizza is simply to die for and while eating all 8 of our pizzas outside on the beautiful streets Wilkes Barre we experienced joyful people walking and simply exquisite service. My mother couldn’t even make pizza that good and she’s Italian, that’s saying something. Top 5 pizza and I mean it. Edit: We shortly went back and donated a lot of money to the amazing charity that they sponsored Whiskers World Inc. so that our feline friends are given proper care and love.

If you're on the hunt for a delightful dining experience, look no further than Franklin's. This elevated American grill offers a fantastic selection of comfort food in an industrial-chic setting that perfectly complements its vibrant atmosphere. With an impressive array of beers and weekend acoustic music, it’s the ideal spot to unwind with friends or enjoy a casual meal.
As a couple of foodies, we have a journal full of places we have been and places we can’t wait to try. It was a gorgeous September day for a motorcycle ride so we closed our eyes and pointed on our list and landed on Franklins. The place was jamming when we arrived but we were quickly greeted by the bartender, Matt. As a bartender myself, I appreciate the hustle! It’s an art to be able to handle the needs of an entire bar and tables efficiently and to do it with sincerity. Matt was amazing!!! He helped us pick out menu items and never let our glasses empty! I got the steak bites and they were cooked perfectly. My husband got the French dip and it was delicious! We can’t wait to go back and try other things from their menu and hopefully have Matt as our bartender again! A great afternoon!

Popped in with some friends on a Saturday afternoon. There was a protest across the street and a big show next door, so it was a bit more active then usual, but the bartender, Matt, held it down all on his lonesome like a champ! Cocktails were good and the beer selection fairly substantial, with a good spread of styles. As a person who grew up in Idaho, I am picky about fries and their fries are pretty solid! I was very pleasantly surprised with the Ahi Tuna bites. The fish had a good texture and flavor (The sauce is a teriyaki, which is not my favorite for nice tuna, but still tasty) I have a very sensitive stomach, and there were no issues later, which is an absolute win!

Jesi A — Google review
We decided to come here for a few drinks which turned into dinner and drinks. It wasn't very busy, but that's ok, we liked that. With outside seating and the garage door open, it makes it feel like the kind of bars by the beach. The decor was pretty cool, too. Overall, we thought it had a nice atmosphere. They probably have the drink you want. Just look up on the walls, and you'll see all kinds of fun concoctions. We also ordered food, which was very good. The zucchini fries were cooked perfectly, and the breading stayed on them. The soft pretzel was freaking huge!! Everything was very tasty. All in all, we had a great time here. I've read this place gets pretty busy, but we really had a nice time here, being it was quiet. We will definitely stop back another time before the warm weather disappears. Check it out.

Nice surprise on a random trip to Wilkes Barre on a Sunday. Stopped in for a beer, but stayed for the huge selection of mixed drinks. Stayed even longer once we say the food menu. Highly recommend the Steak Bites appetizer. Everything was top notch, our server was so nice. Plus they had the Eagles game on multiple screens. Go Birds.

Food was good and service was very good. I sat at the bar, all 3 bartenders waited on me at various times. They were playing classic rock which was great and had multiple TVs. It was a little pricey, but not too bad. I gave it 4 stars overall, but it's more like 4.5

Good food and decent drinks. Friendly staff and atmosphere. However many times I come here, bartenders show favoritism to some clientele. Not to mention, it feels like they don't have air in the summer. Sweat dripping into my eyes. Not relaxing
T G — Google review
I have been here in the past and always enjoyed myself. The bartenders are always good conversationalists and knowledgeable when it comes to drinks and drink-making. The prices are reasonable and the food menu offers a nice variety. You will find a great selection of draft beers as well as liquors.

Japanese restaurant
Mirakuya Japanese Restaurant is a hidden gem in Wilkes-Barre, offering an impressive array of made-to-order Japanese dishes that are sure to satisfy any craving. With generous portions of hibachi and sushi, this restaurant caters to both casual diners and those looking for a more refined experience. Guests can choose from three distinct seating options: the lively hibachi grills, the inviting bar area, or traditional tables for a quieter meal.
We decided to stop in before a WBS Penguins game and also my birthday. We sat at the bar area and were quickly served by Katlynn. She was pleasant and paid great attention to detail. She noticed as we "cheers" my birthday with our first drink and then offered to make me a proper Mai Tai for my birthday. I'm glad I accepted as it was properly made (not sweet which is a winner for me), and visually appealing right down to the fresh pineapple and orange garnish. When she presented our bill, she tested the pen first to make sure it was working..(attention to detail, right?..we all hate when the pen doesn't work..) The rolls we had were fresh and very flavorful and well prepared. We got there about 4pm (as the Pens game was 6:05) and got a nice seat at the bar area. The place filled up quickly soon after...good timing for us. Definitely a great experience..will return. Thank you Katlynn!!

This restaurant Very nice good atmosphere. We experience the hibachi style they cook in front of you. The price is good, I will say that food was very high in sodium, very simple plain rice just soy sauce and 1 egg for 3 plates of rice, I order a margarita by the way it very sweet.
Mia S — Google review
Used to be the best. But hardly anymore. Service has been terrible. Servers are just incredibly lackadaisical. Everything right down to the packaging is cheap and flimsy. Like a janky sketchy street cart quality. We got take out and they put the saucy hibachi in a non-sealable cheap clamshell that leaked everywhere. And I paid nearly $20 for 6 tiny bites of this roll. I don’t mind paying for good sushi but the portions and quality for that cost just don’t align. Every time we come here we say it will be the last. I will drive out of my way now to get a different hibachi and sushi place. We’re done!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Mirakuya is one of my go-to sushi spots never fails me! Always fresh, consistent, and delicious.

D R — Google review
We stopped for a quick weekday lunch, and wow, were we impressed. The decor was exceptional, the service was top-notch, and the manager, Steve, went out of his way to make us feel comfortable. We both ordered the hibachi combination lunch, with steak and shrimp, and the food was excellent. Make sure you take advantage of the half fried rice/half noodle option, which really steps the meal up another notch. We didn’t try sushi to stop, but from the looks of it, I am sure it’s excellent. Once again, we had a first class experience at an exceptionally restaurant. This is a must stop location in the Wyoming Valley.

Diner
Breakfast restaurant
D's Diner is a classic 1950's and 60's style restaurant located in Plains and Wilkes-Barre, PA. This establishment serves the elderly population and veterans, providing a friendly atmosphere and excellent customer service. They do not accept credit cards but there is an ATM available outside that operates around the clock while other places typically close early in the evening.
Loved this place. It was like traveling back in time. Old "50's" diner vibe. The food was great, fast and prices were very reasonable. Yes, that's really the size of the cakes, and pies are just as big. Would recommend!!!
Margi B — Google review
Jump back in time with this nostalgic diner. This 24 hour diner serves a lot of the traditional meals from breakfast, lunch and dinner. I ordered a roast beef and bacon club sandwich. The waitress first brought a BLT Club and she had to take it back to add the roast beef. Unfortunately my partner ate 1/2 her club sandwich even before I got my sandwich. This was probably just an exception. I definitely recommend the mozzarella sticks as they were served hot and the marinara sauce was delicious. We are going to return and try some of the diner's breakfast and dinner plates.

Classic Diner vibes with tasty food. Chocolate milkshake was sweet and great chocolate taste. Fries nice n fried and were not soggy at all! Burger was cooked perfect. Over all a classic diner look and taste, can not complain.

Were staying in the area for the waterfalls & we love a good old fashioned diner. Great portions and okay prices. Was please to see corn fritters so I could get my boyfriend to try them! He got the French onion soup which was an absolute smash! I got meat loaf with fries and gravy, the gravy was yummy but could have been more flavorful. The Cole slaw was chopped so fine and had a very runny base which was delicious to someone who grew up Pennsylvania Dutch. The meat loaf was a little dry and not as sweet as I’m used to. The servers were so sweet and very attentive! It seemed pretty busy and like the servers knew their regulars! Great vibes :)

Food is good and it's usually a great place but today the servers were rude to a elderly person. She was just asking to get her mash potatoes to go in her reusable container but the servers refused and even got a man who K believe was the cook to come out and tell her no.He was practically yelling at her and cutting her off and not once did she raise her tone , she was just questioning why not if last time they did it. What really did it for me was when the lady walked out the severs and the manager were talking about her in a really disgusting manner. So unpleasant to listen to and they had no shame being extremely loud and saying"she's always bitching" with absolutely no shame. The lady was old enough to be their grandmother and that did not stop them.

Day 5

Chacko's Family Bowling Center is a popular spot for families and groups looking for some fun activities. The center offers amenities like gutter guards and ball rollers, making it perfect for kids as young as three or four years old. The staff is known for their excellent service, going above and beyond to accommodate customers, even when there are mix-ups with bookings. While the lanes can be a bit oily, the overall experience is enjoyable, with tasty food and a friendly atmosphere.
Very large bowling alley. Nice dine in eatery. Large selection of bowling balls. Modernized screen easy to follow each player game and score. Great condition for the shoes. Great price optional available to bowl. Wheelchair accessible to the lanes is nice. Very friendly staff.
Geraldine N — Google review
They usually have lanes available. Lane's all work well with bumpers that come up automatically for the right players. Plenty of calls to choose from. The price includes shot rental and a few for each game and player. There's a nice arcade are, though not all machines work.
Moshe R — Google review
We’ve visited Chacko’s Family Bowling Center several times, and unfortunately, each visit has been frustrating. Despite the facility having 40 lanes, less than half are ever in use. This creates unnecessary delays, forcing customers to wait two hours or more just to bowl. The issue isn’t tied to the time of day – we’ve tried coming early afternoon, late afternoon, early evening, and even late at night. The result is always the same: long wait times, with over 20 lanes closed and unused. It’s unclear why so many lanes remain closed, but it severely impacts the overall experience for customers. Chacko’s has great potential to be a go-to spot for family fun, but the poor management of available lanes makes it hard to enjoy. Until this issue is addressed, I’d hesitate to recommend it to others.

Great place! Lovely atmosphere, friendly service, fair prices, and a nice bar with quick service. We really enjoyed it — highly recommended!

HORRIBLE ! I've come here with my family (kids included) to try and bowl multiple times and there are never any lanes open to bowl. There is always an extreme wait time. There are over 20 lanes not being occupied at the times that I was told we have had to wait. One time because of this we tried to call hours before to make reservations and we were told you have to reserve 24hrs in advance. There are always 20+ lanes open when we come to bowl but we are told we have to wait for hours. TERRIBLE experiences. I DO NOT RECOMMEND! Not to mention we did end up waiting for a little and decided to get food there while we wait and we were told we couldn't get food because there was a big reservation order. Only nachos so we did and then they told us they ran out of cheese. THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE ! I wouldn't suggest this place to ANYONE !
Briana R — Google review
B"H I had a wonderful experience at this bowling alley. The facility was clean, well-maintained, and the overall atmosphere was enjoyable and welcoming. The staff were professional and courteous throughout our visit. What truly stood out was the kindness and openness of one of the employees, who joined us in putting on tefillin — a meaningful and inspiring moment that added a special touch to our time there. I highly recommend this establishment for both excellent bowling and a respectful, warm environment.
Kingston M — Google review
Great experience with a birthday party I attended. Kids had fun and staff appear attentive. My family who ran the party had raving reviews to say about Chacko's.
Matthew S — Google review
Family get together in the Poconos found us wanting to get our of the house for a bit so we found our way to Chacko's Family Bowling. We had three and four year-olds with us that were thrilled with the gutter guards that pop up just for them and also the 'ball rollers' that they can use to shoot the ball down the lane. They were good for one game, but the second game took them both past their attention span. Oh well! 😉 We ordered some food and that was tasty and kept everyone happy. Overall, a great way to spend some time with family!

Antique store
Lark Mountain Marketplace, situated conveniently in Wilkes-Barre Township near the Mohegan Sun Arena and a short drive from Mohegan Sun Casino, is a treasure trove of diverse vintage and antique items. Visitors often find themselves losing track of time while browsing through the beautiful Tiffany lamps, stunning sterling silver jewelry, and unique collectible coins. It's an ideal spot for Christmas shopping or finding a special birthday gift with its wide array of offerings.
Lark Mountain Marketplace is one of my favorite places to shop. Very friendly and helpful staff. Huge selection of items. Fair pricing. Cash and card are accepted too! I truly believe there is something for everyone here! As a toy collector, this store makes me feel like I won the lottery. If you haven’t been here before, be sure to check it out soon! You don’t be disappointed.

quite a large antique store with tons of interesting finds to browse. It’s really lovely that they offer free treats and drinks while you shop. Also nice that there’s a restroom available.
Kornelia — Google review
A pretty large indoor market with tons of vendors, packed to the gills with items. Lots of nostalgic things (especially if you grew up in the 80s & 90s). I also noticed a few… “German” items from WWII, let’s say. Really surprised to see those emblems outside of a museum, just for sale. The few people working there were friendly, and parking was ample.

Fair prices for everything and vendors are nice and willing to work with you on prices. Lots of vintage dolls, specifically Barbies. Definitely nred some time to go throigh it all see what all is there. I will certainly be back.

This was my initial visit to Toyota SportsPlex, and I'm already eager to return. The staff members were incredibly friendly and always ready to assist anyone who fell on the ice. Moreover, everyone exhibited a high level of respect towards each other. The facility offers skate rentals or allows you to bring your own equipment. They also have a food concession stand as well as multiple drink vending machines available for refreshments.
I play in the adult Dek Hockey league Mondays and Wednesdays and my daughter plays in the kids Dek hockey league on Sundays. This is a great place to play and practice our hockey skills. The open skate in the ice rink helps improve our stamina to play better on the Dek in the back
Jay B — Google review
Easy to find location with a large parking lot. Entrance to the rink is to the left as this is also home of the Wilkes-Barre Penguins practice facility. Large lobby that lead to a big common area with comfortable furniture in front of a fireplace. Lockeroom video board is mounted on the wall on the right. Back to the right is the 4 locker rooms with adequate space for smaller teams. Larger teams will be shoulder to shoulder. Pro shop is a decent size with various items for hockey and figure skating. Restrooms are clean and a good size for the building the paper towels dispenser didnt work. Arena has 3 section of 5 rows for seating for several hundred people to view games. Temperature is moderate so definitely need a jacket. Ice was in good shape and well maintained. Player benches are a good size along with the penalty boxes. Adequate lighting through the ice surface with no dark spots. LiveBarn is available.
Michael S — Google review
I love this place, I'm so happy I chose this facility for figure skating. The coaches are well trained, im getting better so fast, doing things I never thought I'd be able to do on ice. I love all of the coaches that help me. They offer private lessons and I can practice in public skate sessions also. I'm never told I can't practice during a public skate. Some facilities won't allow that, sadly. I enjoy skating here and I believe everyone would agree.
Amanda P — Google review
We had our daughter’s birthday party here yesterday. The staff was very responsive, they had everything set up, kept checking on us, and cleaned everything up for us. Everything was reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend Toyota SportsPlex if you’re looking for a place to have a birthday party.

Bar
Arena Bar & Grill is an energetic establishment offering a wide variety of draft and bottled beers. Their menu features classic bar food options, as well as steak and pasta dishes. A recommended spot by the hotel, Arena Bar & Grill provides a satisfying dining experience. The extensive beer selection includes both tap and bottled options, catering to different preferences. The menu offers a decent range of choices for patrons to choose from.
The best waffle fries in the area, hands down. Burgers are always consistently good and there's something for everyone.
Angela P — Google review
My punch bowl really deserves more than 3 stars, but everything else is pretty accurate. Ordered gin and tonic and pretty sure I got seltzer and gin instead. Pasta looked good but looking at the picture, plate looked dirty. (Saw that too late) I added salt to that pasta 4 times and you wouldn’t even be able to tell. Wrap was okay, just dry. Would definitely go back for the punch bowl but that’s about it.
Skavi B — Google review
Great visit! Love their burgers! Middlesworth chip chicken fingers were crispy and moist but lacked flavor. The chocolate cake was AHHHMAZING. The peanut butter and jelly martini was also really good. I am a huge fan of Skrewball whiskey so this was totally my thing. Service was great, that server was working her butt off!
Eileen H — Google review
Was recommended Arena Bar & Grill by the hotel we were staying at, and they did not disappoint. Many different beers available both in bottle & on tap. Menu had a good amount of choices. We had Maryland Crab Cakes & Steak and Shrimp Skewers. Both were nice sized portions. The sides (green beans & rice) and salads were fresh and crisp. Our server Mollie checked on us the perfect amount of times and was friendly. When we're back in the area again we'll definitely come back to Arena!

Pizza restaurant
Norm's Pizza & Eatery is a spacious and dependable pizzeria renowned for its Sicilian-style pizza, as well as its delectable wings, pasta dishes, burgers, and subs. Widely regarded as one of the finest pizza establishments in Northeastern PA, Norm's impresses with its consistently delicious offerings. Not only are their pizzas exceptional, but their wings and fries also receive high praise. Particularly noteworthy is their outstanding stuffed pizza featuring the delightful addition of Wisconsin sharp cheddar.
_5/5 Stars_ "I'm obsessed with Norm's Pizza in Wilkes-Barre! Their lunch sandwiches are an absolute steal at just $4.24 I've tried the veal, chicken, and meatball parm, and each one is incredibly delicious. The combination of flavors and textures is spot on, with crispy cheese that adds a nice touch. The sandwiches come with chips, a pickle, and no heartburn - a win-win in my book! But what really puts it over the top is the side of French onion soup... yum! If you're looking for a satisfying and affordable lunch option, look no further than Norm's Pizza. I'll be back again and again!"
Joe N — Google review
The cheese seem to have shifted mostly to one side, it looks pretty messy. This is definitely not how I wanted my pizza to arrive after looking forward to a good meal. The delivery driver had no consideration on whose food this was. I heard great things about NORM’s, but this was not it.
C — Google review
I called there on a Friday morning when they opened. I told them I wanted to reserve tables for 12 people. For a birthday party and drop off a cake. Thank goodness they said yes. We all had a wonderful time. Thanks, Norm's the Pizza.
Shirley A — Google review
Pizza is great, good space and service. The wings are different in that they put hot peppers and stuff on them even if not asked; that is the only weird thing. Maybe you can ask for just sauce if that kind of extra stuff isn't to your liking.
Stephen L — Google review
Great experience every time. Unfortunately, they have closed. We got to enjoy their Sicilian pizza one last time. Thanks for all the great meals and memories!!
Jay H — Google review
Ordered chicken Parm sandwich everyone knows that comes with a chicken breast breaded fried served with marinara and cheese. Here I was served a chicken Patty covered in sauce and charged almost 10 dollars this is ridiculous. Most people jus judge a pizzeria off of its pizza and then chicken parm and then meatball parm. The pizza was decent but this chicken parm is an embarrassment to anyone who calls themselves Italian or serves Italian style food. You have lost a customer and will make sure to tell all about this experience you buy a bag of frozen Pattie’s for 14 bucks at Sam’s club throw mozzarella cheese and some sauce on it and charge us for premium products. Disrespectful and it makes me want to get back in business more and more to show what Real food is Very disappointing!!!!!!
Sammy S — Google review
Came here for lunch one day, random choice of course. However it was a very bad choice. One appetizer came after the pizza and another came at the same time. Service is not that great either.. it seems like they do not like to see how customers' food was... topping on the pizza are very expensive and they barely put any on.... NEVER COMING BACK...

Valley Sea Foods is a delightful gem for seafood lovers, offering an impressive array of fresh and frozen fish and shellfish. Their fish and chips stand out as a delicious alternative to typical fast food, making it a popular choice among locals. While you might encounter a bit of a wait during busy times, the experience is well worth it—just remember to grab a number! The menu features mouthwatering options like large breaded shrimp and extra crispy fries that are perfect for takeout.
I love the breaded shrimp. It's always large tasty shrimp. I get the fries extra crispy bc I get takeout and fries usually get soggy in the container. I love this place as a seafood lunch spot. They also have a huge selection of seafood to choose from for dinner.

The last two times I went there they overcharged me. Clams are $0.51 each or $96.00 for 200. If you buy more than 200 they will charge the individual higher price each time. Watch your receipt. Today they are out of clams and just about everything from what they said.
