Nestled in the heart of Thomasville, Jonah's Fish & Grits is a must-visit destination for anyone craving Southern cuisine with a twist. This inviting eatery boasts a spacious and airy atmosphere, complete with outdoor seating that allows you to soak up the local charm while enjoying your meal. The menu is packed with an array of fresh, house-made dishes that highlight both land and sea options, ensuring there's something for everyone.
Absolutely amazing food, service and experience! Jonah's restaurant was a delight to eat at. We received complimentary hush puppies which were so delicious! We did not have to wait long for our food and when it arrived, the portion sizes were huge! Every bite of our food was delicious. There was so much food, I had left overs to take home and eat the next day! Our waitress was wonderful and the price great! I will definitely be back again and look forward to trying other dishes on the menu!

Jonah’s is popular because it’s the one of the few “nicer” restaurants in the town. The service is good but the food just never matches. The pictures show how my stuffed salmon came out… burnt with barely any crab meat on top. The greens were just ok. The mashed potatoes were the best thing on the plate and those were still 7/10 at best. The hush puppies were the best thing brought to the table. We had crab cakes as an appetizer and they were burnt as well.

Great food. Great service! A little on the noisy side but still a nice atmosphere. Plenty of yummy selections. The Cajun shrimp and grits was outstanding but be aware it is a bit spicy. I like spicy but this was just a nip past my level. Nonetheless delicious. The chicken pesto pasta was good abs the pasta on the al dente side. Fried green tomatoes were the bomb!! It comes with a balsamic reduction that was so incredible. This is a place to come back to for sure!!

I had heard about this little gem from a fellow colleague. We drove 2 1/2 hours to check it out. They have certainly earned everyone of their 4.8 stars! Great vibe, clean establishment, friendly staff. There is definitely a chef in the kitchen. Everything was extremely flavorful. All of the flavors were perfectly balanced, spices were not too spicy, sweets were not too sweet, and everything had a lot of flavor. Prices seemed on par for the quality of food, ordering on a good value. Please pay more in a bigger city for similar quality food. Overall amazing experience. Beautiful walkable town with lots of shops, boutiques, and restaurant/cafes. Come Check it out.

Great food. Great dishes. I recommend the grits and shrimp. So damn good. It makes you want to smack your taste buds so You can taste it twice.

We were passing by Thomasville, saw the reviews for Jonah’s fish and grits and decided to stop by for dinner. Upon entering, the restaurant was very clean, and the staff were welcoming. I ordered the salmon with mash potatoes and brussel sprouts and my Husband ordered the Parmesan crusted grouper with grits and collards. It was the best seafood meal we have every had (and we are from the coast). Our server Brock was great. He was extremely attentive and informative. Overall it was a great experience. I can’t recommend Jonah’s enough.
Hannah W — Google review
Jonah’s was highly recommended by a friend, so when I visited Thomasville it was on my radar. Checked it out and enjoyed it! Our server Allicia was seriously one of the kindest and most smiley souls I’ve met! She seriously elevated the experience! Concerning the food, I had pretty high expectations based off of the reviews on Google. What I can say from going was that the basket of hush puppies we were given (which was complementary) was just as amazing as the reviews say! Didn’t disappoint whatsoever. We also got the cyclone shrimp as an appetizer. They weren’t super heavily breaded which I appreciated! But it was still pretty rich and heavy, and it honestly wasn’t very different from most bang bang shrimp. Decided to order the Cajun shrimp and grits as well since that was also highly recommended. The shrimp was so juicy and well-seasoned! The grits weren’t extraordinary, but were still good. Also, I asked if they could remove the bacon from them, but they said they aren’t able to do modifications for the grits I believe. I ate around the bacon, and I’m totally fine with the inability to modify them, I just wanted to share that in case anyone was planning to get the shrimp and grits but didn’t want everything in them. I also ordered the shrimp and scallop pesto pasta. The sauce was amazing! Creamy and nicely flavored. Pesto tends to have a very overpowering flavor at times, but I thought it was well-balanced in the sauce. The pasta was also perfectly cooked al dente. The shrimp was weirdly not as well cooked in the pasta as it was in the grits. It was more overcooked, so a bit dry. The scallops were alright as well. While I did make a few critiques here and there, it was overall a nice place and I enjoyed eating there :)

10/10 !! Not one complaint. Our waitress Jenzey was awesome and so helpful being that it was my family’s first time. We tried a little of everything and not one bad thing to say. The stuffed salmon was delicious and cooked perfectly. The crab cakes were heavenly. The fried green tomatoes are a must! The shrimp was good. Nice friend atmosphere! I must say the mixed reviews had me worried, but that’s why you always have to try things for yourself! I can’t wait to go back. Definitely worth the 1 1/2 hour drive. The parking is not the best but everything else made up for it! So good that we didn’t even take pictures.

Grassroots Coffee Company, a local establishment that expertly roasts its own beans, offers the perfect setting for enjoying breakfast or lunch or unwinding after a leisurely stroll through the historic downtown area. With over 200 retail stores, restaurants, and coffee shops now selling their beans wholesale, Grassroots has become a prominent name in the industry. The venue itself is impressive, providing ample space for relaxation or work and even boasting a store featuring products from local vendors.
Great biscuit sandwich, good peach muffin, good caramel latte. Most of the bfast items were grits-based, a food I dislike. Bathroom wall by sink was gross. Colorful art and the usual coffee shop vibes made me feel right at home, away from home.

This is such a quaint little coffee shop, very inviting. Their coffee selection is amazing, along with specials and unique flavors like lavender. Unfortunately, we didn't make it in time to enjoy the food menu. So we will definitely be making a trip back to do just that. Wish we lived closer so we could enjoy it even more. Relaxing place to treat yourself.

The food and drinks are above average. The atmosphere takes me back to the 90,s grunge era with servers giving off Phoebe from friends vibes. The food can be somewhat pricey but over all it's a gem in the Thomasville especially because of it's location which can make boarking challenging but it is worth the wait for a parking spot.

Awesome local spot - perfect cup of hot coffee for today’s cool weather. Lots of variety, good looking eats, and plenty of space to sit and relax. Definitely a great place to relax if you’re in Thomasville.

i recently visited Grassroots Coffee at 118 S Broad St, in Thomasville, GA. I came to visit Tho.asville and was pleasantly surprised to find such a nice place to get coffee and a scone. It's a very clean and open space and the staff was very patient with me as I placed my order. My items were soon ready and I enjoyed my time there relaxing before starting my day. A great place to visit

Ordered 2 iced drinks with oatmilk , muffin, and wrap. They made one of my drinks hot and didn’t give me my muffin. Had to go back for that. After i left, one of my drinks was made with whole milk. Not oatmilk. People order different milks for a reason. So couldn’t drink that one. The other one tasted so bitter and had no flavor, despite me asking for flavor. What a waste of $30

Steak house
Chophouse restaurant
Restaurant
Chop House on the Bricks, a charming family-run restaurant in the heart of Thomasville's historic downtown, should definitely be added to your list of must-visit places. With a menu that combines southern culinary innovation and traditional steakhouse offerings, they use only the finest locally sourced ingredients to create their dishes. The ambiance is quaint with hints of industrial and outdoor elements. Starting off with delicious onion rings served alongside homemade aioli dip is highly recommended.
The food was delicious. Two of my guest said there's was salty; however, the host and server had it remade and my guest enjoyed. The food was well worth the price. The ambience was very nice and quiet. One guest volunteered to take a group picture of us. The server was patient, kind, answered question, made suggestions, wasn't in a rush, and also told us about the weekly drink specials. See you guys Tuesday for the "Pink Lady!" Thank you all for making my Birthday Dinner one to remember.

I had the most wonderful time here! My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary and we also celebrated a friend’s birthday. Every single thing we ordered was amazing. I recommend trying the Honeysuckle Sour to drink and the sorbet for dessert, but you can’t go wrong with whatever you get. Our server, Jasper, was very nice and knowledgeable about the menu and gave great recommendations. The whole team seemed to work together well. They put candles on our dessert plates for our celebrations, it was a nice touch. I already want to come back! Thank you for making our night so special and fun!

I recently visited the Chophouse on the Rick's at 123 N Broad St, in Thomasville, GA. I have been waiting to visit this spot for a while. It was well worth the wait. I sat near the bar and was quickly waited on. My server was very good and he explained the specials of the day. I ordered the soup and old fashion specials. We then discussed the entre, I decided on the bleu cheese burger which was more than delicious. One of the top 12 in Georgia, excluding ATL, only bc I haven't gotten there yet well worth it!

Chop House Steakhouse: A Cut Above the Rest – Prepare to Become a "Repeat Offender"! From the moment you step into Chop House Steakhouse in Thomasville, you know you're in for an experience that transcends a mere meal. This isn't just a restaurant; it's an event, a culinary journey that will leave you planning your next visit before you've even paid the bill. Let's talk about the food first, because it was, in a word, excellent. Each dish that graced our table was a testament to quality ingredients and masterful preparation. The steaks, of course, are the star of the show – perfectly cooked to order, incredibly tender, and bursting with flavor. But don't sleep on the appetizers or sides; they were equally impressive, complementing the main course beautifully. Every bite was a delight, proving that Chop House truly understands the art of the steakhouse. And then there's the service. Oh, the service! It was nothing short of upper echelon. Our server was attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable about every item on the menu, and genuinely seemed to anticipate our every need. From recommendations to perfectly timed refills, the staff here operates with a level of professionalism and warmth that is rarely encountered. They truly elevate the dining experience. Now, for the libations. The drinks were superb, crafted with care and using premium spirits. But the drink special? Let me tell you, it was ridiculous – in the absolute best possible way! An incredible value for an exceptional libation, it truly put the icing on an already phenomenal cake. It's the kind of special that makes you wonder if you've stumbled upon a secret. In short, Chop House Steakhouse isn't just good; it's phenomenal. The food is outstanding, the service is impeccable, and the drinks (especially the specials!) are simply fantastic. I can say with absolute certainty that I will be going back as a repeat offender. If you're looking for an unforgettable dining experience in Thomasville, do yourself a favor and visit Chop House. Just be warned: you might find yourself addicted!

We love the food but the personal service is out of this world! We wanted to surprise a friend on their anniversary with a desert and champagne and not only were we able to plan this over the phone but their server even delivered a card with it. Thank you for the personal touches that Thomasville and Chophouse is known for!

In the 90s, my friends and I loved going to the farmers Market Diner. I mean, it was a highlight of our young, overworked 20 something selves lives. ( try staying awake on the way home! ) Chophouse on the Bricks, is the perfect grown up version of, that place. Dishes I most recommend: Chophouse O rings Duck Three Ways Chophouse salad And the pecan pie which is to die for. Tuesday is 5.00 martini night. I'm not rich and I'm dying of brain cancer. This is our special place. We love it so much, Kim. Thank you for all your hard work and hospitality. It hasn't gone, unnoticed. ❤️

I recently had a Birthday dinner here. They told me that they could seat only 8 people.. My daughter came in to surprise me from the Navy so we had two extra people , They didn’t hesitate to make that happen for me…our table was ready early for us. The food was amazing ( I think we ordered everything on the menu). The service and atmosphere was wonderful.. We may have stayed a little later than we should, but No one rushed us.. I will definitely be coming bk.. Thanks for everything.. Misti Jamerson

The whole experience was incredible. Reservations were easy, and the host had our booth ready. We had a great bottle of wine, presented professionally. The bagel shop Empire Bagel & Delicatessen serves scrumptious bagels that are highly enjoyable. Their Empire Egg Sandwich on the French Toast Bagel comes recommended. The establishment in Thomasville, Ga., is known for its New York-style bagels, and customers have deemed it a great breakfast option. Those who have tried their Western Omelette on a plain bagel with hash browns have praised the taste and appreciated the nostalgic memories it brought back.
I had the Cali burrito, and it was the perfect blend of flavor and texture. The pimento bagel was also delish! To top it off, I had the best Iced Carmel Macchiato I've ever had. Will definitely be back! The only downside was it was Soooooo busy there was a wait to order then to eat, but it was so worth it!

i recently visited the Empire Bagel at 221 W Jackson St, in Thomasville, GA. I walked in and was greeted promptly at the counter. The attendant was very helpful with my coffee and discussed the bagel and schmeer combinations. I was there after some surgery and they were so understanding of my situation and let me hang around awhile.

Nice cafeteria with espresso and freshly baked bagels! The smoked salmon with an over-easy egg was delicious. There’s a small, quiet park with a seating area behind the building. Highly recommended!

Food is great here. I got a bagel sandwich with sausage and egg. Great sandwich. They are a little on the pricy side but i can accept it because the food is good. Not sure if it is because it was a Saturday or not but the line to order took about 10 minutes and the pickup took at least an additional 20 minutes. If you can wait that out you're golden because you will enjoy the food. There were plenty of seats. It was a little noisy bit not too bad. You can sit inside or outside.
Michael ( — Google review
We arrived at 1:45p on a Saturday (they close at 2p). They were throwing all of the bagels out. I asked if I could buy some. They said “we just threw them all out. We throw them out around 1:50p.” We had tried calling on the way in to ask if they would stay open until 2p or not, but the phone was off the hook. We tried several times. Also, another 7 or 8 people also walked in behind us, and were all turned away. If your website says you are open until 2p, don’t close 15-20 min early on a busy Saturday. At least, that’s what I would think. Alas…

Second time here. This place is absolutely fantastic. The food is well priced and tastes so great. They make their beagles and pastries in store too. I tried their special which was a sandwich. It was one of the best breakfast sandwiches I had. I grabbed a bunch of stuff to go as well. I highly recommend stopping by. It’s always a bit crowded, but it’s worth it. Come early to get bagels before the flavor runs out.

American restaurant
Restaurant
Liam's Restaurant is a cozy eatery located in downtown Thomasville, GA, offering a New American menu with European influences. The warm and rustic decor creates a relaxed atmosphere for both locals and visitors to enjoy. Known for its simple yet flavorful dishes, the restaurant also features a lounge and cheese shoppe where handcrafted cocktails are expertly served. The curated food, meat, and cheese menus along with an impressive craft cocktail list make Liam's a popular choice for dining and drinks.
Had an amazing dinner at Liam’s. Got to enjoy two cheeseboards of VERY different styles. The first was savory while the second brought the funk! The house made pasta dish was spectacular and the Paris Breast dessert was unreal. Everything from their cocktails to their service to their food was top-notch! Can’t wait to go back and visit again. Highly recommend to anyone that wants to enjoy a special dinner with quality cocktails set in such a cool funky little restaurant.

Liam's is a unique dining experience. Reservations are highly recommended as this place stays busy even during the off season. The boards are great and the owner will come out and give you a detailed description of each cheese and item on the boards. The steak had a delicious bark and was salted perfectly. The steak was cooked perfectly and was tender and delicious.

My husband and I came here here with some friends for dinner during a first Friday. We made reservations and arrived a few minutes early but were seated promptly. The ambiance in the restaurant was really nice. The server made recommendations and we received our food quickly. Unfortunately we were extremely underwhelmed by the food. I had the chicken sandwich and it was the best tasting food. The portion sizes were very small. My husband had the duck and he said it tasted burnt with barely any meat. My friend had the pasta and she ended up ordering the sandwich because she just couldn’t eat it due to it having no flavor or seasoning. Our other friend ordered the fish and also said it had no flavor. Luckily even though she did not ask for the pasta to be taken off the tab the server did not charge them for it. We were all excited to try Liam’s because we heard great reviews but unfortunately for us we will not return for food. We would probably come here for drinks and the atmosphere.
Terry L — Google review
We came in from out of town looking for good drinks and food, and this place looked promising. The drinks were good and the charcuterie board was fine, but everything else was a major letdown. I ordered the fish special, and it was absolutely inedible—the fishiest smelling and tasting dish I’ve ever been served. I told the waiter, and his only response was, “We got it fresh off the truck today.” No offer to replace it, no attempt to make it right. He saw my plate untouched and basically gave me a “too bad” attitude. My husband’s $45 pork chop was just okay—flavorless without the topping—and my daughter’s pasta was also bland and forgettable. For a $200 bill for three people, one meal went straight in the trash, and the service made it clear they didn’t care. We visit Thomasville a few times a year, but we won’t be back. I don’t mind paying top dollar for quality, but this was a waste of money and a complete disappointment.

Without any bias...my meal this afternoon (birthday) was probably one of the most delicious meals I've eaten in years! I'm thankful for the Foster family and to watch CHEF Tyler grow into who (in my opinion) may be the next greatest chef in the states! Hat's off to Liam's...well done, friends...p

A unique menu that is inviting and an atmosphere that is cozy. We wanted to stay for hours. We each had something different on the menu and spent so much of our time tasting each other's food...which for me is highly unusual. I don't like to do that and I usually don't like people tasting my food. But, this was so much fun. Our meals were bursting with such a variety of flavors. See the puctures. The owner spent time visiting and our server was excellent. Very highly recommended. Loved it.

Liam's has been one of our favorites for the past decade, but I'm only getting around to leaving a review now. But because of knowing them over such a long time, I can admire and compliment the consistency of their presentation - the decor and ambience have stayed the same, even through expanding into the space next door with a bar and lounge; the creativity of the drinks menu still impressive; the cheese selection and thoughtfulness astonishing; and the menu itself is genuine, personal, and of an exceptional quality.

I rarely leave reviews, but I must make an exception for Frida's Mexican Bar and Grill. It has been a week since I dined there, and the experience continues to linger in my thoughts. The cuisine is unparalleled - the finest Mexican fare I have ever encountered. Not only was the food exceptional, but the service matched its excellence. There is so much more that could be said, yet I will conclude here.
Best Mexican food I have had in a king time. Wish we lived in the areas so we could eat there more often.

I've been twice now in the past week. This is a fun place to eat in downtown, with a nice menu. I've had tacos, a quesadilla (which comes covered in cheese dip - no complaints here!), and an enchilada. All were very solid as Mexican restaurants go. I sat at a booth the first night, and the server was on point, but tonight sitting at the bar was very impressed with the bartender's performance... Good margaritas.

My family and I ate here last night on 12.7.21. First off when we go there was no one at the front. The manager was at a table talking to customers and did acknowledge us and someone came and seated us. Everything went great, waitress was great, drinks came out fast, and the food came out fast. I ordered the shrimp quesadilla with the salad on top of it. First piece I had, had maybe 1 shrimp on it so I opened up the rest to see the shrimp. To my surprise the shrimp was bite size like the size of a nickel and there was a very pitiful amount. So I asked waitress about it and she said she agreed and took it back. Well the cook and the manager came out the cook saying this is right that there is only 6 shrimp on the quesadilla and the manager said with the size of the quesadilla that's why it didn't look like much. I laughed and didn't want to argue and just told them to take it back that I no longer wanted it. Then they went to the back and never came back. The food was good the waitress was great. But the shrimp quesadilla for 13/14 $ was not worth it. With the service I recieved for this particular issue then it makes sense why it barely had customers. They definitely lost my family and myself as one, and if they keep it up these new restraunts will put them out. Overall if they would of handled this situation better then it would of been a 5 star rating. But thats all it takes. I'm done spending money on places that don't care.

This is the worst place I have been to in 2021. The service was awful. It was so bad I felt out of place. “The Salsa” was nothing like real Mexican Salsa it was Salty👈🏾. Then, I ordered tortilla soup which was extremely salty as well, I returned it. Our waiter took 24 minutes before he came back to take our order. He had no food net around his hairy beard and seem not to care about customers. I will NEVER go back to this awful place.
Benji B — Google review
There are a lot of restaurants in this small town that are trying to be up and coming and only a hand full that are truly notable and worth talking about. The food here has been on point since opening except for the last couple of visits. The staff has been under par since day one but I kept coming back because of the food, but if the quality of the food doesn’t stay consistent neither will the patrons. The bartenders need more training and more than one on weekends and special events. The staff and how this establishment is ran is very unorganized and unprofessional (I could be wrong but it seems like there are some family/upper management picks and favorites that might be allowed to get away with doing what they want) and that’s a shame because we really need more notable restaurants in our area. If things don’t change quick they’ll only be in business for awhile because it will be the place to go for drinking. I hope the food stays amazing because I really like this place!

We had a great time visiting Frida's for First Friday last weekend. Both my husband and I agreed that this is our new favorite place for Mexican food. And the strawberry margarita 😍😋 yum! We'll be back soon!

I ordered (2) enchiladas and they were brought out without much wait. They tasted very good, just were not very big. Waitress was very nice with her southern charm!

Tried this place for the first time tonight, as a general rule of thumb I usually give a new restaurant a few months to work out the kinks before trying it. I heard some rough reviews at the start, but I think my rule paid off for me. The food was great, hot and fresh with a great flavor. The portions were huge! You feel like you get your money's worth and speaking of, the price tag was probably the best part. I've been partial to Rancho grande for Thomasville Mexican but, they better watch out. Aside from the great price, portions, and flavor the service was great and the atmosphere was even better. I am eager to return again with high expectations!

Pizza restaurant
Paulies Brick Oven Pizza is a charming establishment adorned with rustic brick walls and equipped with multiple TVs for entertainment. They offer delectable pizzas that can be ordered as whole pies or by the slice, as well as pasta dishes and hoagies. The food at Paulies is highly regarded, often enjoyed through delivery service. However, one recurring issue customers face is not receiving an adequate amount of ranch dressing when ordering for delivery.
Unfortunately, reviews are kind of backwards all you will see are the remains of what once was the BEST Large Meat pizza and Garlic Knots, I have ever had. Big Thanks to (Miss Macy) for suggesting those Delicious Garlic Knots. So, next time I will need two orders. GREAT 👍 JOB !!!!

A good pizza place with a nice atmosphere that I consider on par with anything in Thomasville.

The hotel I was staying at recommended this place. Awesome. Brandon was our server and he was fantastic. I had the Paulie's classic pizza and it was delicious. I didn't do 5 stars because my cheesecake was frozen. Brandon immediately brought out a new one unfortunately that's as frozen too. But I did have some cheesecake to take with me. Overall, customer service -fantastic! We didn't wait long for food and the taste was superb. Totally recommend Food-delicious!!

First time here on recommendation. I usually don't drink beer but the server (RDA) recommended the Wolf Pup Session IPA, and it was very good. However we didn't think the pizza (Paulie Special) was all that great. We've had some frozen pizza that was more satisfying. The service was very good and accommodating. May try again some day or maybe not.

Paulie’s has a unique vibe and atmosphere that is very inviting and funky. Our family enjoys our trips to Paulie’s. They have great pizza and salads along with a good beer selection. Their garlic knots are amazing. We’ve always had excellent service regardless of how busy it can get. Paulie’s is a must go to place for pizza and beer in Thomasville.
Justin L — Google review
The best Italian food. The portions are enough for 2 with a salad (great salads and dressing). I have to amend my previous review. We have always enjoyed their food and arrived there between 5 and 5:30PM on Saturday because they filled up after that. The Saturday, between 5PM and 6:30PM, we were there and there were only a few tables filled. Now I know why. We decided to take our neighbors who own a guest house and are great cooks. I bragged about Paulies food, I was wrong. Our pizza had to be sent back and the 2nd one wasn't much better. The manicotti looked like a frozen dinner. I heard that they had a new cook. I think they need to try another. The service was excellent. The only bright spot of the dinner. Unless their food returns to the previous quality, I would not recommend this restaurant.
Ronald C — Google review
The service and food were definitely up to par. Giving it a 4/5 because the inside wasn't extremely clean when we dined on, and the mozzarella sticks come frozen instead of being made fresh. Overall good experience and would go back.

Nestled in a charming old train depot, SASS! The Sweet and Savory Sisters is a beloved Cajun-inspired restaurant that captures the essence of Southern hospitality. With an inviting atmosphere that feels like home, this eatery serves up mouthwatering dishes such as Shrimp & Grits, Jambalaya, and Sweet Tea Brined Fried Chicken. Don’t forget to indulge in their delightful beignets—perfect for starting your meal or saving room for dessert!
I recently visited SASS! The Sweet and Savory Sisters restaurant at 420 W Jackson St, in Thomasville, GA. Well, let me just say to start with, GO! I totally enjoyed my visit there. I ordered the chicken salad sandwich w chips and a side of cheesy grits. These are probably the best grits I have ever had and if anyone there reads this, I want the recipe for the grits. See you soon! Good job.

We traveled here from just over the Florida line. They don't serve alcohol until 12:30 on Sundays. Maybe that is a known thing, not to my husband and I though. We were told there was a wait but could sit in the bar area. It looked fully stocked and we were told they had good drink options. I do not mean to take away from the waiters service. He was efficient and accommodating within his power. We split an order of Beach Bread and a bowl of Chicken & Sausage gumbo. The bread was so tasty we ordered it twice! The gumbo was fantastic. The bowl was a hearty portion. The atmosphere was charming with an option to sit outside. It was raining or I would have loved to soak in the train station feel. I am unsure if it is still an active track but your table can be mere feet! We will be returning on a different day.

This was a really great spot. Old train station made into a restaurant and other shops. Restaurant was excellent. Great food, very tasty. everything seasoned perfectlly. I had half of rack of ribs and i could not finish. The dirty rice was magnificent and their mash taters. Best ive had in a while . Place is a bit older but nicely decorated. Bring you a long sleve if you get cold easy. AC works great. They have outside seating but be aware train still passes by so might be a bit loud when it does. Staff was very nice and helpful. Overall a great place to get some eats. Highly recommend.

Fabulous food! Our party had steak, grouper, jambalaya, and gumbo. Everything was incredible! Excellent deep fried pickles and pimento cheese bread. Extensive cocktail and liquor menu. Indoor and outdoor seating. Highly recommend!!

At a Sass catered wedding. And the servers were clearing tables before you could even finish. Waited forever to get a bar drink just to have it tossed by a server even though my suit jacket and phone were at the table. Could not even go to dance floor cause had to guard my table . No class or etiquette. Where is dignity and respect for a very expensive event. Sad, just sad.

SASS is absolutely amazing. The food is delicious, the service is amazing and the atmosphere is the best. There was no place I wanted to have my 50th birthday party at but SASS. I had a vision for what I wanted and the staff helped make it happen. We rented their small room which was perfect for what I wanted and it turned out as I pictured it. Thank you to all staff that helped. You were all amazing. And our server Zack was the best! He was very attentive and helpful and on point. And the bartender next door was the most amazingly patient person! I will always recommend SASS for just a dinner for 2 or a large event!

First time visiting…food was excellent and our server, Victoria, was very nice. Within about 15 minutes of being seated, it got extremely busy…which made me thankful we made a reservation and got in before the rush. I had the etouffee with slaw and green beans. My husband chose the grilled chicken breast with red beans and rice. Everything was delicious.

The Sweet Grass Dairy Cheese Shop has transformed over time to allow their cows to graze on fresh grass, utilizing the natural resources of South Georgia. This evolution has enabled them to expand and become known for their exceptional cheeses. With distribution in over 38 states, their product line encompasses six varieties of cheese. Situated in a charming historic town, this restaurant boasts a remarkable ambiance with its tasteful decor and inviting sidewalk tables.
Everything we had was delicious. The spinach dip appetizer, the burger, and beet salad. Full service bar as well. Not a ton of seating but would be worth the wait during the busy hours.

Absolutely love this place! Fantastic and delicious food! Burger was on point! Cheese spread was sooooo good. Server (Alex/Alley) was super sweet and helpful, very knowledgeable on all the different cheeses. I enjoyed watching the cooks in the kitchen. Thank truly seemed like they loved their job. Working hard with some smiles.

This was an amazing find in Thomasville, some of the best cheeses I've had in a long time. We got the charred brussel sprout and artichoke dip which was my highlight, super creamy melted cheese with the salty brussel sprouts on a crunchy crostini. That set the bar high for the rest of the meal, but nothing disappointed. I loved the homemade fries with tons of dips (the ranch was my favorite), the real cherry coke and shirley temple, the philly cheese steak, and my companions got the pimento burger which was also delicious, of course. The dedication to gluten free options including true homemade gf burger buns was truly impressive as well! More restaurants should be taking notes. I also want to shout out our server Melissa who welcomed us to Thomasville and Sweet Grass and told us all about their history and what was best on the menu. Thanks for being so welcoming. I highly highly recommend stopping by anytime you're in the area, even just for a single bite!

I ordered several gift boxes online for my work colleagues and clients for Christmas this year. The recipients were blown away with the quality of cheese, meats, jams and crackers. I appreciated the packaging that kept the food well preserved en route, consistent communication throughout the delivery process so I could text each recipient when I was notified of the doorstep delivery, and the reasonable price for such a high quality product. I’m a fan of the cheese and the family’s story behind it. It’s such a pleasure to promote one of the pride and joys of my hometown.. a small town business with a world class reputation. Kudos to Sweet Grass Dairy for making my holiday gift giving such as success!

"Kevin's Fine Outdoor Gear & Apparel" in Georgia is a reliable option for outdoor gear and apparel. Customers have had positive experiences with the online ordering process, receiving their purchases promptly and being impressed by the customer service. Despite some concerns about stock availability, many customers have found that Kevin's delivers on its promises. The efficient service and personal touch from the staff have left customers feeling satisfied and eager to return for future purchases.
What a great hunting/sportsman store! Loved the table scape options as well as the home goods. They have everything from guns, to clothes to glasses to artwork. Awesome vibe, great friendly people. The employees took the time to go through the guns and educate on things we did not know. 100% recc going here. There is nothing better than walking into a store and getting great customer service.

So...this is an absolute must stop if you are a hunting/shooting enthusiasts...BUT...be prepared...very overpriced and limited selection of clothing items. The gun collection upstairs is definitely worth the visit, but bring your AMEX Black because these guns are top end!! When comparing gun prices to GunBroker or other online sites, gun prices here were considerably higher in price. Same with clothing prices...clothing items from were 15%-20% higher at Kevin's compared to Orvis (for the same or similar items!). Staff is very friendly and eager to assist and the store is definitely worth a visit to find a great selection of items, but not sure the prices are worthy overall.

Very tight parking but upon entering this establishment was clean, well lit, and very well organized. I wondered around for a few just taking it all in. I made my way to the gin counter and was helped by Dave who was patient kind and knowledgeable. He made me feel at ease with him and I was eager to ask him questions about the types of guns for individuals with small hands and minimal recoil. I had to have my purchase transferred to Thomasville because I have a GA permit. At one point an employee attempted to argue at me about my permit not being a permit with me showing it to him. Other than that I enjoyed my experience and will definitely return.

My wife and I decided to stop in Kevin’s after having lunch. We found an item we wanted to purchase. As I was checking out my wife remembered a gift card we had from Kevin’s. (The card was from an exchange and the overage was returned to us in the form of a gift card) However, now we were told that the gift card we held was no longer honored in part bc it was 10 yrs old. The cashier furthermore explained that because of a software update Kevin’s could no longer look up or verify the card amounts. How convenient!! Guess we lost that money… We have only be back home (Thomasville) for 8 years and the card would have to be about 5 years old ( as my wife remembered the exchange ).. We have also read the back and there is not any verbiage concerning an expiration time or date or software conversion cancellation. Once home we found the exact item on-line for 50 % less that what we almost paid at Kevin’s

The Plaza Restaurant & Oyster Bar is an established eatery that offers a diverse selection of Greek, Italian, and Southern dishes in both formal and casual settings. With a history dating back to 1916, it is considered the oldest operating dining establishment in Georgia. The menu features delicious meals made from fresh and high-quality ingredients at reasonable prices, complemented by attentive customer service. The ambience of the restaurant is exceptional, with friendly bartenders and staff creating a welcoming atmosphere for patrons.
Everything was excellent. It was my husband and my Anniversary. We were going to go for dinner but decided to go for lunch and glad we experienced that. They have a lunch buffet during the week from 11 am-2 pm. We arrived 10 minutes before the buffet closed. But they still had lots of amazing options on the buffet and it was outstanding food. So delicious, so amazing. Best chicken, fish and salad I have ever had. Just absolutely wonderful. The atmosphere and service was awesome too. The lady who greeted us to the lady who served us and the lady who checked us out were so wonderful. And can u believe that the guy who was stocking the buffet even asked us if we would like any more from the buffet before he takes it up? I don't see that anymore at restaurants. The customer service seems to of went out the window with most places. But this restaurant has it going on. They also have a wonderful candle lit dinner at night. So it's a wonderful, romantic atmosphere for couples. Highly suggest this place. My husband and I will be returning for a candle lit dinner some time soon.

We visited this restaurant for the first time. I was nice a litter like a fancy an older vegas restaurant. It is the oldest restaurant in Georgia. All the staff was excellent. Our waiter was very nice The food was good. The corn bread was delicious. We did order tiramisou dessert. It was more like a frozen ice cube. We told the waiter who must have told what we think was the manager. He came after we paid and said sorry. We did inform them 1/2 hour early. I don't think it was the waiter, just the person who came conveniently after we paid.

A Historic Spot with a Caesar Salad Worth the Indulgence! I recently stopped into The Plaza Restaurant and Oyster Bar for a quick lunch, and I was immediately impressed by the options. Both the full menu and the abundant buffet looked incredibly appetizing, making the choice tough! I ultimately decided on the Caesar salad and added some shrimp, and it was a fantastic decision. The salad was fresh, well-prepared, and the shrimp was perfectly cooked. Despite intending to just have a light bite, the meal was so good that I basically made myself finish the entire thing—a sure sign of a satisfying lunch! Beyond the great food, it's also genuinely cool to know you're eating at the oldest restaurant in Georgia. That little piece of history definitely adds to the experience and atmosphere. If you haven't been yet, I highly recommend stopping by The Plaza for lunch. It’s a wonderful spot for a quality meal and a nice nod to Georgia’s past.

We enjoyed the buffet….the fried fish and the black eyed peas with snaps were delicious. Buffets aren’t my favorite but this being a local, well established restaurant made it a superior experience. Very friendly wait staff.

What can I say other than how soon can I go back. Fantastic chicken! Fried oysters were just okay, didn't like the breading for the oysters. That chicken though! It was crispy yet tender and juicy on the inside, just perfect. Sweet potato casserole was over seasoned, could not eat it. Everyone was so friendly and even let us sample a dish we were unsure about, five stars for that alone!
Ashton S — Google review
The oysters were fresh and tasty, and the filet was perfectly cooked with a great sear. The creme brulee was spot on. The building is 100-plus years old as is the restaurant. It's a little dated but I believe it's what gives The Plaza its charm and atmosphere. I'll go back.

Finally got a chance to stop in for dinner for my 50th Birthday. Having moved from NY to FL 4 yrs ago we have been desperate to find good food...(no offense southerners but the food down here just isn't on the same level as up north) anyway...we are SOOOO happy we got here. Was by far the best dinner I've had since moving here, my Filet Oscar was cooked perfectly and was extremely tender, the oysters casino were delicious as were the bacon wrapped shrimp, my husband had blackened whole flounder and it was superb! The cheesecake was also delicious. The service was great and our server stopped by numerous times to check on us and see that all was ok...all in all it was a prefect dining experience and well worth the money and 45 minute drive...we will definitely be stopping un again very soon!

During my recent visit to historic Thomasville, GA, I had the pleasure of dining at Hong Yip Restaurant for lunch. The experience was delightful, with fresh food and clean facilities that made for a pleasant stop. I was particularly impressed by the black pepper chicken, which was absolutely phenomenal. It’s been years since I've tasted Chinese cuisine this good! The lo mein blew me away, and the pepper steak was simply divine—everything from the buffet exceeded my expectations.

Very tasty food. Used to be my favorite place ate here almost daily for 3 years straight. It’s been about 1 year and a half since I had lunch here last time, never had an issue until today. A couple hours after my lunch I hurled it all up due to the food hurting my stomach so badly. Sorry to say I won’t be eating here any more, I can’t.

Ordered steamed buns. They took them out of the freezer in what looked like Sam's Club or Walmart packaging. I can make steamed buns! Shrimp Fried Rice was not fried. It was yellow rice heated with frozen shrimp; no crunchy bits; no egg; no seasoning. The Buffet looked better but I don't do buffets. I've had friendlier service at a fast-food drive-up window. My second and last time trying this. I grew up outside Chicago; and lived near San Fran and in NYC. Beautiful Chinatown's in all three not to mention the Asian community in Jamaica, WI. I KNOW what GREAT Asian food tastes like. This is not it!

Food was bland, Wonton soup didn't have spring onions, and tasted like Costco frozen wanton. Pork fried rice was just lacking any flavor. The soy sauce packets are MSG free, making it harder to add that umami back into the food.

George & Louie's Seafood Restaurant is a charming establishment that exudes the ambiance of an Ernest Hemingway novel. Its retro gas station marquee and floor-to-ceiling windows add to its appeal. This eatery, located in Thomasville, offers a variety of seafood dishes and has an in-house market. The combo plates are generously portioned, with the specialty for two easily satisfying three people. Don't miss out on their delicious hushpuppies, best enjoyed while still warm.
Delicious food. Friendly staff and quick to please the customer. The shrimp 🍤 dinner was delicious! Don't miss out on the fried green tomatoes! Cooked perfectly! Not greasy! The fish gyros was huge! I paid 9.99 for 5 tiny pieces of deviled crab cakes that were the size of a thumbprint and all batter, no crab. I also paid 14.99 for a grouper sandwich that was grossly overpriced for the fact that there was barely any fish on that sandwich. The tomato was thicker than the fish! So disappointing.

Q Cafe is a charming spot that serves up creative southern breakfast and lunch dishes with a twist. The cafe also offers catering services, making it a great choice for events. Visitors can expect attentive service and delicious food, including standout items like the biscuit and brisket sandwich. The atmosphere is welcoming, with friendly staff and reasonable prices. Located on Broad St, it's an ideal place to enjoy a satisfying meal before exploring the traditional Main Street nearby.
We had the Nona’s Chicken B and the Gardner skillet. The have lots of hot sauces to choose from.

i recently visited the Q Cafe at 122 N Broad St, in Thomasville, GA. I went to the Q on a Saturday and knew it would be busy downtown. I didn't have to wait long but was worth it. I ordered the breakfast biscuit and an order of grits. My server was very attentive even though she was very busy. A very good place to get a good meal at

My favorite part, the owner walks around(when he can) and checks on tables. Really shows his level of care. 2nd favorite part... Them biscuits and Q Sauce! Too notch! Always a good breakfast. Always a good product. We've been in here when they were PACKED OUT, service gets a little slow but you can see them working hard. One of the best spots in Thomasville for food and definitely the best spot for breakfast. Thanks Q Cafe!

Enjoyed breakfast and I got to say they had the biggest biscuits. Food was good and came out hot. Even though the waitress was super busy she was very friendly and attentive.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ What a gem in the heart of Thomasville! This quaint little cafe is the perfect blend of Southern charm and cozy comfort. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with warm smiles and the inviting aroma of freshly brewed coffee. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming — perfect for catching up with friends! The food is absolutely delicious — everything tastes homemade and full of love. Whether you’re grabbing a famous buttery cat head biscuit, a hearty big boy skillet, or their amazing french toast, you can tell the ingredients are fresh and thoughtfully prepared. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to linger a little longer. Had the opportunity to meet Mark, the guy with the dream. A true local treasure in Thomasville— I can’t recommend it enough!

We got there right at lunch time and there was no waiting to be seated. Waitress very attentive and helped our indecisive table to choose. It does get smokey and slightly difficult to breathe when sitting next to the kitchen window but the food is great. Best biscuit around!!! The cold slaw has a strong onion taste. Pie was decent but they didn't have any from the selection on the menu. Brisket sandwich had great flavors. Chicken and biscuit was seasoned well. Pancake stacks were fresh and fluffy. Bacon crispy. Good quality and quanity of food for the price.

Last spring, I visited Thomasville and enjoyed a wonderful breakfast at Q-Café. My absolute recommendation for anyone with a sweet tooth in the morning is the Chunky Monkey – I loved it so much, I felt like I could have bathed in it! The service was incredibly friendly and helpful. Before leaving back to Germany, I simply had to stop by one more time for another Chunky Monkey breakfast. To my delight, the staff immediately recognized me and even asked if I was ready for “round two.” Absolutely adorable! I will come back, that's for sure! ❤️

The best breakfast spot in South Georgia. Nothing compares to the southern charm ✨️ that exudes Q. Great service. A culturally rich feeling washes over you upon entering. Everything is well done. Eggs, bacon, grits and biscuits 😋 for the win. I'm usually skeptical of super thick biscuits, because the very middle is usually doughie. Q's biscuits are perfection. I put the egg on one half of the biscuit before piercing the yoke, so the runny goodness soaks into the flaky yumminess. Thanks for your execution of good eats.

Day 3

Off the beaten path
For day 3, if you don’t mind the extra trek, today covers more off the beaten path places like Cherokee Lake Park. Not quite as popular as Lapham-Patterson House Historic Site, but still highly rated among many travelers. Accounting for getting around and average time spent, today’s activities could take about 7 hours.

A very beautiful and safe place to walk/run lots of people so it's not lonely. I've seen turtles, fish, birds, ducks in the water. A great place to experience nature and its also connected to the rose garden. They have picnic tables, and pavilion for fun gatherings, and a play ground for kids. Lots of dog walkers too.

I ride my bike pretty regularly and most of the time with my daughter. It's a good central spot to start. Safe parking and friendly park visitors. Very diverse and I love that everyone waves or says hello here... great for young to older to walk, jog, bike, etc.

Nice cement trail around the lake. Lots of ducks, geese, squirrels, turtles and some fish to look at. Everyone was very nice. The parking is mostly paved or a little rugged, but nothing any car can’t handle.

Sunday June 18 2023 My husband, our one year old, our seven month old and my pregnant self visited Cherokee lake park today. It was pretty nice! There's a little park and a picnic area. Nearby There's the lovely rose garden. This place is stroller accessible. If you need to take a break there are benches all along the trail. There are ducks, geese, squirrels, and turtles everywhere. The animals were all fun to watch especially for kids. There's a sign that tells you what you can and can't feed the animals here.

Come see the beautiful waterfowl and amazing foliage. A lovely place with minimal interference from humans, just the bridges taking you across the water and in a large circle back to the parking lot. Check out the roses when they're in season!

We come out every afternoon to do 3-5 miles of cardio everyday. Clean and well maintained!

It's a nice park to take the family. Good for exercise. The city needs to refinish the picnic areas and install new fences. The sidewalk is needing repairs also. But overall a good place.

Paradise Park, a historic 18-acre park once known as Yankee Paradise Park, was a popular destination for northerners in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The park features multiple playground areas for kids to enjoy and beautiful trees that provide ample shade. Visitors can also find pavilions where they can sit and enjoy food from nearby eateries.
Great park for a round walk, large playground in the middle, all 10 minutes from downtown

Nice big park for the family to enjoy! Multiple playground areas for kids to play. Beautiful trees in that provide adequate shade for comfort! We didn't see any restrooms, which was kind of a problem for us with our three little ones 😂.

It's alright. Part of the park is currently damaged, so that was a let down. But it was clean and welcoming. More for very little kids, the equipment is small except for the Zipline which you've gotta be over 5' to reach.

Gift shop
The Bookshelf is a trendy bookstore located a short distance away. The owner, Mike, offered delicious treats alongside the coffee. As parting gifts, they gave out delectable cookies in the shape of Georgia that were created by Maries Kakes, a local baker. This establishment embodies everything one would expect from a small independent bookstore - modest yet carefully chosen selection of books covering various genres including fiction, non-fiction, and children's literature. The staff members are knowledgeable and offer great recommendations.
I LOVE this bookstore even though I’ve never been there in person(yet!). I love the weekly podcast and love the monthly surprise subscription box even more! I’m currently reading “The Story of my Life” for the perfect summer read. Next in line is the book selected by Shop Dad - can’t wait. Thank you for bringing me the cozy bookshop vibe with the perfect recommendations as if I stopped in every week and you knew just what I-love to read!
Tracey R — Google review
The cutest local bookshop, with friendly, helpful staffers. The owner recently wrote a book herself (her and I both graduated from the same small Christian high school, one year apart actually, small world for ya!), which I borrowed from my local library in Tallahassee. But after loving it so much (and wanting to highlight and underline and notate) I knew I needed my own copy. So we made the short drive across the state line for a visit on sidewalk sale day, and loved our time in the store and in downtown! Plus, I now have an autographed copy!
Halie P — Google review
I make visiting the Bookshelf a priority every time I visit Thomasville. When I go, everyone is super warm and welcoming. They also have lots of unique copies of some of my favorite classic novels so I always walk away with something new. They display a lot of different books that I might not have discovered if I hadn’t seen them there. For example, I got a liturgy book that I now use every day. Their podcast is excellent as well. 12/10!!!

I was just reminded yesterday how much I love The Bookshelf. Nothing beats walking in to the quiet shop after a stressful work day. On this particular day, I wanted to buy books for two little ones, but I didn't know where to start. All I had to do was tell Kyndall their ages, and she walked me right back to the kids' section and pointed out 2 perfect books. Then, while she was wrapping them with complimentary gift wrap, I grabbed a signed copy of a book I've been wanting to read for myself. The Bookshelf is such a blessing and an asset to our town.

The cafe boasts a cozy ambiance with ample natural light streaming in through its large windows. Visitors can savor rich and smooth coffee while indulging in gourmet chocolates and cakes. Additionally, the establishment provides truffle-making classes for an entertaining experience with friends.
I recently visited this place while passing through the town and I was absolutely blown away not only by the decadent chocolates but how sweet the girl who helped me with was. Amanda was so kind and so sweet with not only me but all of the customers. She has a personality just as sweet as the chocolates in this place. I bought a few different varieties to try because everything just looked so good. If I am ever passing through, you better believe I will be stopping in again.

This is a wonderfully sweet Thomasville treasure! The staff is amazing and the truffles are to die for!!! I especially loved the Savannah Latte Truffle as well as the Savannah Truffle!! Both were equally delicious!! The truffles were super chocolatey and creamy!! We also tasted the spicy chocolate mango, which was tasty as well! I would stay away from the Bourbon Truffle if you’re not a bourbon drinker!! It was not good to me AT ALL!! Other than that, I absolutely loved this quaint and cutely decorated chocolate shop!!

I love Sweet Cacao! I always enjoyed their macarons, then I took a truffle making class and learned about their chocolates. The chocolate is ethically sourced and everything is hand made in the shop. I like to buy a box of truffles and enjoy them one at a time throughout the week. I just found out that if you bring the truffle box back to refill, they offer a discount on the next box. I love supporting our town while treating myself and my family at the same time.

Delicious truffles, cheesecake, macarons, and coffee! Amanda was so sweet during the sidewalk sale, and I am SO glad I decided to buy a box of macarons. Be sure to try their Savannah Latte and great assortment of unique truffles!

This is a classy joint. Their older location was nice, but this is certainly an upgrade. Very spacious and peaceful. The outdoor patio is a good option as well. Mouthwatering selection of sweets. I went with cookies and cream macaroons and birthday cake gelato. Both were on point. The staff certainly have a dose of Southern Hospitality that unfortunately I feel has been lost this day and age. I can tell that the owner really cares about this place. I will one hundred percent return at some point when I'm back in town to try something new from their vast selection.

Beautiful cafe in Thomasville. It has a proper cafe ambience and feel to it. Absolutely loved it. Big windows let in a lot of sun. Great place to enjoy coffee and their gourmet chocolates and cakes and have conversations or just to enjoy a book or something. I loved that seat by window with cushions and everything. The coffee is great. I ordered an americano and it tasted rich and smooth. The barista told me that they use a double shot, which if how I prefer it, so that was great. The caramel brownie was absolutely incredible. It was just so well done. The whole combo of caramel and the sea salt and the caramelised buttery flavors gave an amazing taste to the brownie. The macarons here are another highlight. Great place. Would definitely go back to try out some more cheesecakes, chocolates and some more. Great place. The prices are not bad, considering the quality of the service and items.

Hubs and Hops is the ultimate destination for those looking to unwind in Thomasville with friends. This charming establishment combines a bike shop and taproom, creating a unique atmosphere where cycling enthusiasts can mingle over craft beers and wines. The cozy taproom features an ever-changing selection of draft beers that cater to seasonal tastes and customer favorites, all while live music occasionally fills the air.
We frequently visit, probably every 1-2 weeks. Very chill, relaxing atmosphere. Everyone that works there is always extremely friendly and helpful. There is always a great, large selection of beers on tap and in bottles, and while the food menu is limited, what is available is great. They hold plenty of events and are the hub for First Fridays. Don't forget to visit their sister establishments T'velo across the amphitheatre and The Hub at Feather Oaks in Tallahassee.

Best pizza we’ve had since moving to the southeast!!! So we stopped in here after The Rose Show. We just figured it would be a quick bite after the parade. …. Oh. My. Goodness. First off, they brought the kid’s meal before the pizza which was super smart! My daughter is obnoxiously picky with pasta and she loved it! The service was AMAZING! We expected to wait awhile since they were crazy busy but they were so on top of things! The pizza…. 🤤 my husband is from Chicago, I’m from Denver… we are pizza connoisseurs. This is the best pizza we’ve had IN YEARS! It takes a lot to impress us with pizza…. We didn’t get a picture because we devoured it. Next time we want pizza, we’re making the drive up here.

Mediterranean chop salad with chicken and house made basil green goddess dressing was OUTSTANDING! Service was friendly and quick to prepare my order to-go. Passed through Thomasville on a Sunday afternoon. AJ Moonspin had been recommended by a friend and seemed to be the only restaurant open downtown. I’m so glad it was! Highly recommend!

No idea how this place gets 4 stars. I ordered bruschetta and the bread was cold and soft, and the tomatoes were soggy and without a doubt made hours earlier as they were translucent and bland. By far the worst appetizer I’ve ever had anywhere. The pizza was ok but not one that I enjoyed eating to be honest. The service was decent and we had our orders taken quickly, but we were asked how the meal was 6 times during the meal by the two servers, which was a bit annoying, though maybe people like that. I obviously will not be returning.

This is the best pizza in Thomasville! (People drive from Tallahassee to eat at AJ Moonspin, so it might be the best in Tally also!) The thin and crispy crust is perfection, but don't come here looking for thick and chewy crust. Moonspin offers specialty pizzas, classic pizzas, and salads. Italian restaurant
Nestled in the charming town of Thomasville, Mom & Dad's Italian Restaurant is a delightful gem that serves up traditional Italian comfort food and homemade desserts in a warm, inviting atmosphere. Founded by Tita and Osvaldo, who immigrated from Ancona, Italy in 1973, this family-run establishment has been delighting patrons for over four decades.
I'm a little Bias here but for a GR8 reason! Last time I was here eating was 1984. Our family treat was here on a Saturday night back then. Medical issues after that summer prevented coming to see the family and I mean mom and dad and the rest! Let's fast forward 42 years. Had the manicotti last night with meat sauce and nothing has changed. Also picked up an entire cheese cake for my daughter that still lives here for her birthday today! Went back tonight and picked up 5 orders of Manicotti for my parents and aunts tomorrow night in Cairo. The staff and the atmosphere is phenomenal! I had a slice of tiramisu tonight with a double Royal Flush at the bar. BTW the young woman from Alaska makes a mean drink! Take care of her! It's amazing to see things don't change but they evolve and stay the same when run the same. Keep it family! I graduated in 1990 and was there in 1984 before dad's accident and back again today, 2025, at 53 years old this weekend....STILL THE SAME! So from my Mom and Dad (James L and Sharon Lowe Cairo and VSC) to your Mom and Dad and now yourself and your family, I met your daughter and son in law...be blessed and prosperous!

Let me just start by saying I truly really wanted this place to be amazing. However the food was cold. And the food was not very appetizing at all. Again I truly wanted to love this place but unfortunately it disappointed us.
M M — Google review
We ordered takeout. Three entries - chicken alfredo, shrimp scampi, and a kids lasagna. With the addition of stuffed mushrooms and fried mozzarella. The order was put in around 5:45 pm and proposed to be ready at 6:27 pm via the online system. (Granted - We had wanted to order via phone, but were redirected to the online system. Call in orders ‘easier’ via the app). When arriving at 6:30 pm, we were told it would be 3 more minutes. Finally at 6:50 pm, we walked out of the restaurant with our food. It would have been appreciated to have a phone call to been notified of this delay before arriving - much better than waiting outside or in the small waiting area with other patrons trying to be seated. When arriving at home, the mozzarella and mushrooms were cold - fried mozzarella tried to be warmed up, but still remained like a packaged cheese stick covered in breadcrumbs. The other food wasn’t as cold, but by no means a desirable temperature that did not require additional reheating after plating at the table post-3 minute ride home from the restaurant. Bringing family into town, I wanted to have a nice meal in, however did not have the quality of an experience I have had in the past with your establishment. (One month later) Emailed restaurant directly because I could not get through on the phone. Have had no response.

While visiting the area, I took my daughter and grandson to eat a late supper. Mallory was our server. The service was first rate. The atmosphere was like being at home. The food was cooked to perfection. Chef Brooklyn did an amazing job with the grouper special. The pasta was al dente, and the meat sauce was fabulous. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience. All the staff were amazing and extremely friendly and helpful. We will all come back again.

I’m from the north east where lots of Italian restaurants serve excellent dishes so I’m a bit critical. We had calamari that was small pieces and so so didn’t care for the cocktail or marinara with it, Chicken Alfredo sauce a bit bland, salad was good and the steak with cheese and mushroom topping a bit overcooked bread and oil dip good

Malory was very knowledgeable of the menu and helped me make the perfect choice for my dinner. The Lasagna is unmatched and the service is top notch. I’ll return when back in town and can’t wait to try the chicken Parmesan next time! I was going to pass on dessert but when I saw the Oreo cheesecake I couldn’t say no. So my apologies for the partially eaten cheesecake I could barely wait before digging in! Don’t skip the cheesecake you’ll thank me!

The Big Oak was absolutely gorgeous and so worth the short walk from downtown! The tree is massive, peaceful and perfect for a quick photo stop or just to take in its beauty. It’s one of those spots that really captures the charm of the area!
Briana B — Google review
In an historic downtown that has many big beautiful trees this one still stands out. Having lived in Japan I love that they have the supports for the big sprawling limbs. It really is worth walking a few blocks out of the way if you're in the area.

i recently visited the Big Oak at 124 E Monroe St, in Thomasville, GA. Wow, what an immense tree located here. It appears that the city, county take great pride of having a tree about 350 years old. It is supported in several ways to prevent it from I guess breaking or lying onto the ground. Go take a look and think about the age of this tree
Greg K — Google review
Always amazing to see very old trees as they are no longer common.

Wow! This is an amazing tree. It was alive at the time of our Constitution signing. There is a fact sign that tells you how big it is.

Natural almost 400 year old wonder. While I personally wouldnt make it the ONLY reason to visit, it makes a great relaxing end to shopping and dining nearby.

The Farmer's Daughter Vineyards + Tasting Room offers a cozy and welcoming lounge-style space where visitors can enjoy award-winning small-batch wines. The knowledgeable staff provides a delightful wine selection, including the flavorsome Saltwater Gypsy, Hellraiser, Knockout, and Bombshell. Guests can also savor spiked cider and indulge in artisan chocolates and charcuterie boards while enjoying the friendly service.
We stopped in on a Friday for date night from Tallahassee and we were very impressed. Casey Stone was our bartender and she was absolutely amazing, very knowledgeable on the list of wines as well as the pairings. Her presentation was spectacular and she is a very professional young woman. If you’re in the area, stop in and saying hello! I would highly recommend the Sauvignon Blanc.

We did a day trip to Thomasville, GA. A day well spent! We signed up for the yoga and bellini event at the Farmer’s Daughter Tasting Room. Everything was wonderful! The yoga instructor, the mock and cocktails, and the charcuterie plate. The staff is outstanding to connect with, and very friendly. The space is nicely decorated and well maintained. I look forward to our next visit.

Farmers Daughter is nestled in the middle of a bustling shopping area in downtown Thomasville. It is a must visit location for wine tasting at its finest. The wine is grown locally and you can feel the care and warmth with every sip. For fall in a glass try thier spiked spiced cider. The staff were inviting, knowledgeable, and attentive. The air is perfumed with scents of autumn from candles made from recycled wine bottles, which are sold on premises and the decorations are homey with an over all feel-good!!

This was just what the doctor ordered! I had the most wonderful time here!! After a miserable few days on the road, this redeemed my road trip! The cutest winery with really really good tasting wine, a perfect charcuterie board… all in the cutest little town! I found Thomasville by mistake and I am so happy I did! Whitney was amazing, she made me feel at home and all of the patrons were friendly and welcoming! I can’t wait to come back!

Great ambience and decent collection of vine. Tucked in the heart of pretty downtown Thomasville. The staff is great and vibe is lit. Go for it when visiting the historic town. Not to be missed.
Rakesh S — Google review
The three hour drive was well worth it. Although we are use to vineyard vistas, this quiant shop in the middle of town was enjoyable and relaxing. The wine tasting experience was 100% spot on. There's not one we didn't enjoy, which is unusual for us. We bought two of each to bring home with us to enjoy later and to give as gifts. Shout out for Whitney who did an excellent job describing each bottle to us and making the right parings from the artisan chocolates and charcuterie board. I recommend getting the "Everything Board." Thank you Whitney and the Farmer's Daughter Vineyard for a wonderful experience! We will be back.

My husband and I were passing through. We walked in to a very bustling and energetic vibe. We had never heard of this place before. We didn't stay because no one greeted us or anything. He was able to use the restroom. I waited to see if anyone could tell us whether we seat ourselves or what. Kind of felt like, we weren't supposed to be there. But it truly seemed like a really good venue. Aesthetics were amazing! We went to another place very similar down the street, and was greeted and treated like we belonged.
Tresca R — Google review
Very nice experience. Though we are used to sitting overlooking a vineyard while sipping new wines this was a very pleasant environment with a very nice person, Jennifer, taking care of us. Did a good job of keeping me Gluten free. Provided us with gluten free crackers on our Charcuterie board. Talked to us about each wine we were tasting. Sorry to say I wasn't crazy about any of the wines, we still bought a bottle of the Heartbreaker had a glass of that to finish the board with and brought the rest of the bottle home with us. It is in small town setting... But so nicely done up inside and out. Urban farm?... Well not at all sure how to describe it. It is lovely and worth stopping by and spending some time relaxing there. We were there on a Sunday in Feb. So there were folks coming and going but not super busy. But a nice pace for them I guess. They also serve a few mixed drinks and non alcoholic drinks. They have a chocolate charcuterie board which I thought about trying but didn't. It is a little pricey there but not real out of line with other places like that. Really it is so charming... You should go if you get a chance.

Architectural Buildings
The Lapham-Patterson House Historic Site in Thomasville, Georgia is a Victorian mansion built in 1884-1885 as a winter cottage for a merchant. This historic site offers guided tours and showcases the creativity and craftsmanship of the Victorian Era. The house features unique architectural elements such as fifty-three windows, twenty-four doors, and fifty exits designed due to fire safety concerns.
This was a very beautiful and interesting home. This isn’t one of those places where you only see a select few rooms and can’t touch anything. You get to tour the whole home, even areas unfinished. You can go on all three floors, you can touch things, you can sit in many of the seats. This is a marvelous place to tour. You may want to call ahead to see when to tour, it’s normally open Fridays 1-4. I think they do tours only on the hour, but they may have just been today. It’s $10/person - but only $14 if you want to tour the home and historical museum.

I had a wonderful time, I’m coming back !!

I was lucky to visit the Lapham-Patterson house on the equinox! The afternoon sun allowed the stars and the ram's head to appear on the floor. The ceiling and floors, the large bedrooms with neighboring sitting rooms were beautiful. Outstandingly maintained. Thank you.

The Jack Hadley Black History Museum, established in 1952 and located in Thomasville, is a repository of local and national African-American history and culture. The museum showcases over 4,000 artifacts celebrating Black excellence curated by James Jack Hadley. Visitors can explore the museum's collections which highlight the achievements of the first Black individuals in the city. Additionally, the museum offers guided tours and a short film to educate visitors about both local history and broader African American heritage.
This is a GREAT MUSEUM. Lots of information and some really cool artifacts. My favorite was the barber chair and the beauty chair and hair dryer. I would have liked to have seen maybe some sort of family tree on the founder. My only suggestion may be a little bit more Condi and less Bill Cosby Michael Jackson and OJ Simpson.

We visited Thomasville, Ga. for the first time. My Dad was born in Thomasville and it has always been my desire to go to his hometown. We went there with no expectations except excitement and anticipation. We discovered this Hidden Gem and we were excited that they opened for us. The history that is compiled here is too numerous to mention. There are 4 galleries and you could literally spend all day in each one. We received a personal tour from the curator, Jack Hadley and he is a living encyclopedia of Black history. The collection covers not only the history of Black people from Thomasville but from across this great nation. Thank you Mr. Hadley you made our trip a memorable one

Chicken restaurant
Church's Texas Chicken is a beloved fast-food chain known for its mouthwatering fried chicken, sandwiches, wings, and Southern-inspired sides. Diners rave about the freshness of the food and the crispy coating on their chicken tenders, which are perfectly moist inside. Many appreciate that Church's regularly changes their frying oil, enhancing the flavor of their offerings. While some customers have had mixed experiences with service—ranging from friendly interactions to less-than-warm greetings—the overall vibe remains positive.
I haven't eaten here since high school. We're having our 25th high school reunion this year to give you an idea on how long it's been. This is one of the best fast food experiences I've had in a long time :)
Jason O — Google review
I love church's chicken because I grew up with it in Texas. I love the fact that they use potato flour. I love the fact that fried okra is avaliable as a side. I love the fact that dark meat is their default. I love the fact that I have never had a dry piece of "chicken jerky" while there.
Mark L — Google review
Our food was fresh and delicious. I'm not the biggest fan of crinkle fries, but I really enjoyed theirs and will get them again. You can tell they change their oil regularly, which makes a big difference with fried foods. The tenders were moist on the inside and crispy on the outside. And they actually remembered the dipping sauce (most places forget, which drives me nuts because it's a must for me when eating tenders). The employees were super friendly and quick. We will be going back.

Actually, the Girl in drive through wasn't very friendly.I give great customer service on my job.Thank them for their business 😀 I went there today and spent 30.00 and was grunted at,instead of words.UNFRIENDLY GLARE, TELLING ME TO PULL FORWARD AND WE'LL BRING IT OUT Then she shut the window.REALLY!!!! Never Thank you. That's common place these day's and everyone is feed up.I don't like my job all the time, but I have to support myself So sometimes you fake it till you make it or a staff with a bad attitude can ruin the business. My office friends and I eat out every day and Church's at least 8 to 10 times a month and we order 30.00 +,depending on the day. There are certain restaurants I haven't been back to for poor service. If I don't feel welcome, I won't come back.I love you're chicken.Thank you for listening.

A stunning place, and a must visit whether you are a history enthusiast or nature lover. Unfortunately, we arrived around 4:00 pm and learned that the last house tour was at 3:30 pm. However, Don from the Visitor’s Center kindly helped us make the most of the remaining time. We were able to explore the garden area and were mesmerized by its beauty. Back home we used to get our dairy and produce from Happy Cow Creamery. Happy cow offered tours. During the tour we got to see all of the pastures. They let us try samples of their products. Their store is literally on their property surrounded by pastures full of cattle and to the left of it is the milking shed. We saw what the cattle ate. We even got to see the cows calving sometimes. We got to see the barns where they care for the calves after they are done drinking their mother's colostrum. We always talked to the farmer and the workers there it was all around a great place. They are really awesome people. That's why I loved Happy cow you could actually see how they cared for their cattle. They did a wonderful job. I'm not going to buy from a place if I have no idea what's going on at their farm sorry.

The Tommasville Tomme and Georgia Gouda were quite small. The website shows the past portions but what we recieved was not close to the posted 6oz. Fuzzy Goat is a charming and whimsical yarn store that offers a wide variety of ethically sourced yarns. The staff is welcoming and encourages beginners, offering assistance in selecting fun projects to explore creativity. The store's online presence is highly praised, and it is known for its colorful and inviting atmosphere. Customers appreciate the high-quality fiber and the promotion of creative projects. Visitors are delighted by the unique items for sale, such as one-of-a-kind yarn bowls.
Always a great experience. It’s a cozy little space and the staff is always eager to answer questions. They know what they are doing and if you knit or crochet, make the trip. They offer classes and they have a thriving online business, but in my opinion the in shop experiences are what separate them from other places.

I love to shop around and find yarn stores along my travels and this particular store did NOT disappoint! Actually, I think this will be an absolute MUST stop every time I am in the area. There were yarns, patterns, colors, and gizmos and gadgets I had NEVER seen before! (That is saying something with as many stores as I have been in) The owner and staff were seriously welcoming and did not care if you Knit or Crochet as long as you enjoy being in the store that is all they cared about! I left with new yarn, new patterns, and a new hobby! If you are already involved with, or even remotely curious about anything fiber art related, I recommend a visit!

Lewis Produce Co is a must-visit spot just a short drive from downtown. It's the second largest fresh-produce market in the Southeast, offering local vegetables from Thomas County and locally made goods like fried peanuts, chocolate-covered pecans, divinity, and homemade boiled peanuts. Visitors rave about their assortment of fresh fruits and vegetables, praising their ripeness and flavor that can't be found in grocery stores.
Always friendly and helpful staff. Quality fresh vegetables always cost you more, but WOW, what a difference in flavor over canned or frozen. My wife loves getting the different varieties of peas and beans by the bushel, and shelling them herself. Everyone at our community's monthly potluck look for her UGA crockpot full of fresh peas.

Two stars only because what we bought tasted good. Very friendly people but I think they use that so you get distracted and not ask price. We spent way too much money for what we got and they are very straight face when they tell you the total. $15 for pickles, pickled beets and peach salsa each. Shame on me for not asking but shame on them for charging outrageous prices! The meat we bought was over priced and pre packaged. We were to embarrassed to cancel the sale but we will never go back again! It’s produce for goodness sakes!
