Bethel in 2 days

If you only have 2 days to spend in Bethel, we’ve narrowed down the top places you should check out to get the best experience of your time here.
Bethel is a classic New England village framed by the Mahoosuc Mountains, popular for year-round outdoor recreation. In winter it serves as a base for skiing and snowboarding at nearby Sunday River Resort, as well as cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. Warmer months bring hiking on the Appalachian Trail, paddling on the Androscoggin River, and foliage drives along scenic byways. The town’s compact center offers historic architecture, local inns, and small museums that highlight the region’s logging and railway heritage.
With favorites like Historic Sunday River Covered Bridge, Matterhorn Ski Bar, and The Gem Theater, we’ll make sure you don’t miss out on all the must sees. We even included some of our favorite food spots around the area, like Smokin' Good BBQ and Millbrook Tavern & Grille so you can get the best taste of Bethel while you’re here. To see our full list of food recommendations, check out our best restaurants post. If you're traveling on a budget, you can check out our cheap eats post.

The Sunday River Outfitters program offers outdoor activities such as archery, kayaking, and stand-up paddleboarding with introductory classes available.
My 7 day stay was spectacular! I had a blast each day and all the staff were amazing! The young kids were an absolute breath of fresh air to see each day. (Brandon, Joseph, Emily, Phil and Alexis) Despite the unfriendly, rude and unsympathetic lady I booked over the phone with was a bit too much to deal with. She definitely needs a refresh on customer service when a guests is looking to spend an entire 7 day vacation at a destination resort! Jordan Spa located in The Jordan Hotel was the perfect ending to each of my 7 days. I decided to choose a different spa option each day to really really the experience of a true vacation and I enjoyed all SIX of my spa days and everyone in the spa was absolutely amazing! Meghan, Andi, Kristy, Birch and Lucas!). I can’t wait to come back for another ski and spa vacation! Cheers to Sunday River Resort for such a memorable ski trip for me!

Sunday River is one of the best mountains in the Northeast without question. First time visit, loved it. Spring skiing so not as many trails open as we'd have liked but the double blacks were manageable and there was plenty to experience. The igloo is incredible, the Mountain Room food delicious and the apres scene with live band was fun. Plan to return.

Studio with kitchenette was plenty spacious for one or two people. Clean and comfortable! Staff was very accommodating. I enjoyed hiking the trail up to Locke Mountain.

What a nice experience I had at Sunday River Ski Resort! I really enjoyed my friday afternoon there (12- close). At first I thought it was a bit expensive, but I was surprised by : - ski conditions were very good. 😊 - the views everywhere are just wow!!! - not much wait at the chairlifts. - there was a super nice and huge igloo bar at the bottom of jordan bowl peak, SO COOL! One of the main highlight of the day. ✨ - and what to say about those bubbled chairlift anti-wind 👌10000/10 thanks doppelmayr! Shout out! Last but not least, LOVED seeing those ski-doo snowmobiles 👌 #thankyou

Great staff, amenities and skiing experience for all levels. I am a novice skier and liked how many green and blue trails there were to pick from. Icy conditions the weekend we went but I felt comfortable on the trails as a novice compared to some other mountains in New England area. Highly recommend the waffles at the top of the chondola lift. Absolutely delicious! As a novice, I most enjoyed and felt comfortable on the green trails at the South Ridge area but also really enjoyed Moonstruck trail. Staying at a ski in and out condo is great, but be sure to check out the trails first because some are located on difficult trails or you can ski out with no problem but getting back could be a little challenging. Update: I went again a week with fresh powder and optimal conditions and it was amazing, still would recommend even when on icy side. Staff are all wonderful!
Kayla M — Google review
We went there in July for a conference, and I found the staff to be really friendly. The food was great, and there are plenty of trails to explore and enjoy.
Arezou T — Google review
Best maine mountain for snow making and high speed lift service. Massive in length, you can ski from the top right most peak Jordan, across all 8 peaks to white cap lodge. An amazing long beginner trail Kansas that brings you back to the base. (Sometimes a bit flat for snowboarders depending on conditions) Jordan 8 and Barker have great advanced terrain to lap and you can do a ton of runs even during the spring. White heat and vortex are amazing expert trails steep, groomed, and open most of the season. (Including April) I wish there was a steep groomed double black off Jordan 8 that led back to the lift. They blow snow on tin woodsman let it mogul up, turn to ice, and close it. Why not groom at least one of the 8 double blacks off Jordan. Otherwise it's a massive distance from rogue angel to cyclone closed for skiing. Sucks having to take Aurora or white heat (slow lifts) just to ski steep groomed terrain.

Bridges
The Sunday River Bridge, also known as Artists Covered Bridge, is a picturesque and historic landmark in Bethel, Maine. Built in 1872, this covered bridge is closed to car traffic, allowing visitors to explore its interior. It's one of nine covered bridges in the area and offers a glimpse into the past with its well-preserved wooden structure. The surrounding area is perfect for swimming during the summer months. The bridge provides a great opportunity for photography and offers a short trail from its base.
Handsome bridge. Nice views from it overlooking a river, unfortunately lacking water. Found a few spots to wade in after walking the path along it though!!
Mary G — Google review
Was a bit of a drive, and a bit out of the way .. but the scenery was spectacular along the way. This bridge was nice to visit, walk through, and photograph... but just wished there was something more in the immediate area - no town/village; no cute shops; no real restaurants or dining. Just know that it's kinda in the middle of nowhere. But again, the bridge is in good condition and wonderful to visit.
Patrick S — Google review
Really only the bridge and river to see, but it was worth the trip down in for us. We enjoyed it.
Julie M — Google review
Another New England Historic bridge. Located off the main road there seems to be plenty of parking on both sides of the bridge for multiple cars. Is it accessible. Maybe the entrance is narrow for a wheelchair. And it is a dirt path leading from the parking lot the bridge. Walking across took me 20 seconds each way. There is no bathroom nearby. You’ll probably have to drive to the Sunday River resort nearby. You can walk down to the rivers edge to take pictures. Its technically open 24 hours, but its not lot so you wont see it at night off the main road. I did not see a plaque explaining the history of the bridge. But the sign does say Sunday River 1872. Enjoy

Nestled in a remote mountain location, Matterhorn Ski Bar has gained recognition as a must-visit spot in Bethel. This seasonal establishment is celebrated for its diverse cultural fusion, featuring a Switzerland-themed ambiance and an American menu offering Neapolitan-style pizza and artisan wood-fired creations. Embracing an apres-ski vibe, the bar hosts live bands every weekend, drawing crowds eager to savor the vibrant atmosphere.
Wonderful ski bar with a fantastic atmosphere, great food, and welcoming staff. Only got some appetizers but they were delicious and filling. The nachos were a large portion for at least 6 people and were nicely served with cheese throughout and good quac, salsa, and sour cream. The pretzels were also fantastic, hot and with a delicious beer cheese dip.

Great restaurant to come to after a long day of skiing! The vibe here is really cool, and they also have live music! Food here is good, but pricey for what you get. The waitress was friendly and attentive. They also have an arcade with a couple of games! The spinach and artichoke dip came out fast and hot! I would definitely recommend the pizzas and burgers, fish was good too. The desserts are yummy as well! Definitely worth a visit!

Perfection of Ski Town USA. Perfect for families. Lots of seating. Fantastic atmosphere. Just sums up the perfect ski bar.

Surprisingly good food! The pizza was great and hubby thought the fish and chips was the best he'd ever had. Also, our server was on the ball and pleasant. The atmosphere was super fun too, with live music.

Good beer selection, but will not order cocktails (we ordered Old Fashion & Moscow mule, and didn't like them) again in here; large portions of the food(entries come Vvvveryyyy slow in busy nights!!!). Ejoyed their Poutine, Nacho Avalanche, Caesar salad, and Monte Rosa pizza. Fun place to hangout with friends and enjoy some live music.

Top notch ski bar! Always a great time at this bar. The staff is friendly, food and drinks are good and reasonably priced. Most weekend nights during ski season they have live music. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a ski bar near Sunday river.

They specialize in catering for various events such as weddings, rehearsal dinners, reunions, dinner parties, cocktail parties, anniversaries, and holiday gatherings. Their menu includes options like barbecue, lobster bakes, party platters and custom parties.
Heather and her crew catered my daughter’s entire wedding weekend recently! The meals provided were perfect. We received so many compliments on the food quality and taste…even from guests with special requests because of food allergies. Heather was wonderful to work with throughout the planning process. I highly recommend The Good Food Store to anyone looking for a caterer in and around the Bethel, Maine area! You won’t be disappointed!

A nice selection of goodies, from sweet to savory, to dog biscuits. My husband loved his pastrami with swiss cheese on rye. I ordered a tuna salad wrap. After a long wait for our food we took it to go and ate on the picnic table in front of the place. I was given wheat bread instead of the wrap. The bread was so dense I knew it would Kay as a brick in my stomach. I removed the top slice. As I ate my open-faced sandwich the bread was breaking up. It was a very messy experience.
Christina D — Google review
Really impressive selection of dry good, wine, fresh produce, snacks, etc. Most products were Maine and New England based. Very friendly staff, the Reuben and beef cheddar BBQ were great. Highly recommend stopping in.

Holy cow, good food co catered our wedding this past weekend and we were blown away! The communication was prompt and Heather went above and beyond to help up execute the perfect wedding. Everyone was raving about the food, especially the chicken tacos. 10/10 would recommend good food store for any catering needs.

This was my hidden gem find on this Maine trip. Stocked up on QUALITY food on day one. Staff was incredibly helpful. Great selection of just about everything. Coffee was fantastic. Great beer/wine selection.
Kim G — Google review
food was good, vibe was strange. perhaps not being the usual clientele, i was eyed with what felt like suspicion the whole 10 minutes I was in the store. staff peeked a corner to see what I was doing when I was deciding purchases and double checked the aisle I was standing in after I was done, looking to check if i had taken anything, to my perception. im in town for a work conference and was looking for affordable food. I don't know if they deal with shoplifting a lot or something, but perhaps staff might need a bias training. if you hold a diverse cultural identity, just be careful - some comments for reflection.
Deborah M — Google review
First, their food is AMAZING!! Better than we could have ever imagined for our wedding! Second, Heather and her crew are the best. We would not have been able to pull off a mountain wedding without Heather - she’s simply the best!
Katelyn M — Google review
Grocery selection and ready to go foods are what get five stars from me. There is always enough available for snacks and a meal for later. So this is a must stop before or after a day outdoors. The hot to go foods are what bring us in after a day skiing or mountain biking. We never have reservations for the restaurants so this is all we can get when we are hungry and they never let us down! Kombucha and gluten free foods, fresh veggies and fruit, gluten free pasta and rice to cook for dinner later, chicken parm and other classics ready to heat up. Burritos for any meal of the day. Delicious soups. There’s also wine and beer, bulk snacks and dry goods, frozen treats as well as local meats. A little bit of everything, we can always find something to fit our dietary restrictions and fill us up when we’re hungry!

Super cool spot! Found it on a rainy day during a weekend in the Whites and Gorham NH... Went for a drive and saw this place. It was great. We have some good popcorn with Cabot butter on it and a few adult beverages! Nice theater and music, event spot. Nice people. Surprised to find a spot like this out here. If you are in the area you should definitely check out.

I sincerely can't praise The Gem enough! We were staying in the area for our anniversary and decided to stop by on a whim after driving past, and were just blown away. What an incredible place, inside and out. The building and the location are just awesome, my photo was a quick shot on our way in- the building is really that vibrant and the sky was really that blue! The people were wonderful, the prices were low, the food and drink were great! It's a such a comfortable space as well. We loved seeing a bulletin board sharing so many things going on in the community and the murals and flags in support of the things that matter. It was a comfortable and welcoming space that, in combination with the rest of Bethel, definitely had us talking about if we should move there on the way home 😅 We stopped by to watch a movie but it seemed they offer many other events as well! Any information we needed was easily available on their site! There was plenty of parking available in the lot. They offer snacks, candy, cocktails, and more for concessions. The front row had the cushioned seating you typically see in theaters now, while the rest was the older style seats, which we were excited about personally and found very comfortable! If we ever visit the area again I know The Gem will be one of our first stops! I highly recommend checking them out!
Stephani Y — Google review
There is always something interesting going on at the Gem. From live music, to indie films, to the latest summer blockbuster, if you are in the Bethel area you should definitely stop by!

Wow! By chance we were able to catch a concert here on a rainy fall evening during a visit to the area. We heard a great band and mingled with locals. The cost was very reasonable and it was a nice event. They offer movies and other events. Grab a performance along with a bite and beverage and enjoy the local scene.

Their Science on Screen series was wonderful and I think it’s lovely that it’s pay what you can. I can’t imagine anyone giving them less than 5 stars unless they’re just looking for things to be mad about.

Great spot & nice staff. The location is perfect if you want to combine a little bowling & movie, would be perfect for a birthday party. The adult eggnog was $5, which I thought was fair and the drink was delicious!! They have an arts & crafts area for kids that get restless. Overall, will absolutely go back ⭐️✨

The Maine Mineral and Gem Museum, situated on Main Street in Bethel, is a captivating destination for families, especially when the weather isn't ideal. The museum boasts an extensive collection of Maine minerals and gems, as well as an impressive array of extraterrestrial rocks including meteorites from Mars and sizable pieces of the Moon.
Definitely feels like a great almost-hidden-gem kind of place that has an extensive collection of pretty rocks laid out in an informative and educational manner. Staff are friendly and very passionate about the subject matters. Definitely recommend you stay around for the meteorite show if available.
Jiaren L — Google review
This museum was recommended to us by neighbors when we were looking for places to visit with our granddaughter (age 9) and it is truly a remarkable, out of the way place. The exhibits are informative and some are interactive. There are hundreds of drawers with clearly identified mineral samples and there are maps showing where deposits are found. For me the highlight was the collection of meteorites and a short video display along with sound and flashing lights which the kids love. Many of the meteorites are displayed where they can be touched and near the exit you are given the opportunity to hold a piece of the Moon and a piece of Mars. For us it was worth the visit.
Jim M — Google review
Amazing, interesting, super interactive, and the Owner (84yo) gave a tour of the Space Rocks collection that was impressive, funny, and really brought the rocks and collection to Life! - You wouldn't have thought rocks would be interesting, but this place was AWESOME (Kept an 11yo Roblox addict occupied for 2.5 hours) - They have 1/2 of the World's collection of Moon Meteors and Mars Meteors (More than NASA) Don't miss out, this is a "gem" you don't want to miss!
Phillip W — Google review
This museum is awe-inspiring! I didn’t know what to expect and I was delighted by all of the rock, mineral, gem, and meteorite exhibits. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable and kind in every room, from the check-in to buy tickets (no wait!) to the exhibit rooms, to the gift shop. There’s extensive information on the history of quarries and gem mining in Maine, interactive exhibits, and my husband and I even got to hold pieces of the moon and Mars! I would say this is a good place to bring kids aged 7-ish and up. There are gifts for kids and adults in the gift shop, ranging from greeting cards and magnets to beautiful rings and jewelry to crack-your-own geodes and plush planets. I highly recommend a visit if you’re even a little interested in geology, gems, space, or Maine history. I recommended this place to all of my friends and family and I will be back soon!

This museum was awesome! So many amazing items in the collection. We got to hold a piece of the moon! This museum was so well thought out with many different ways to interact with the content. The volunteer and staff we interacted with were phenomenal - so engaging and passionate about the topics. We spent two hours there, and could have spent longer if we were not hungry. Worth the drive! Had lunch at The Local Hub after and it was delicious.

Beautiful golf resort hotel with some really nice apartment suites and an impressive 4th of July fireworks display. The restaurant is touch and go depending on who's working but I've not had a bad meal.. they range from okay to spectacular. Not super confident on their gluten free.

Stayed at the condos overlooking the second golf hole. We would never stay there again unless road coming in is fixed, repaved. I've never seen holes like that many. One bartender had no personality, always going out of the bar to the porch. Not inviting. Going there for 14 years. Family atmosphere is gone. Golf course was terrible. Girls tee boxes horrendous. Enjoyed the surrounding area. Our favorite place closed a few years ago. Still loved our stays in the past.

We haven't been to Bethel in a few years. The Bethel Inn was our favorite place. The golf course is a nightmare. The grounds use to be beautiful and now they are overgrown. The food is skechie. My friends own a timeshare and we visited them and the condo is in shambles. Their electric sockets won't even hold electrical appliances. What a nightmare. Their sliding screen door is in shambles so bugs, dragon flies and wasps are constantly a problem. The road that leads into the condo area is in shambles. One could lose their car in the potholes because they are so big. So disappointed 😞.

It was a relief to find Bethel Resort and Suites as it was late at night and we had not seen places to stay for a while. We were thankful they had someone at the desk after normal business hours. The room was large and had a fireplace which we loved. Some of the pillows and curtains etc were stained in our room but overall we had a good experience.

Got there on a rainy day. Not much signage to let you know how to enter the pub. Food was good, had to stand around for 10 minutes for someone to realize we were there looking for lunch. Service was very good.

My goodness, what a great place! Older property with lots of character. Large and comfy rooms! Great location. Amazing friendly service from everyone. Thank you Diana (front desk) for all you guys did for us. Large group - here for a wedding near Bethel. Highly recommended if you're in the area!

Arrive for a date night with my guy. Staff was friendly. Was not told about the heated outdoor pool being broken for weeks until after I asked about the pool hours. Got given the wrong room keys and was allowed to keep the upgraded room, however the fireplace was broken in the room and needed to get another set of keys. Since I got to the room from the outside, I tried to find my way to the front desk inside. I went down a set of stairs, and into a dead end and had to leave the building to get to the front door, it was pretty cold. I did get directions on how to get to the room from there. Would have been nice to have a hotel map to explain. Just because the inn is older and doesn't have an intuitive layout. I was charged a facility fee even though the pool couldn't not be used and none of the other facilities were used.

Smokin' Good BBQ is a long-standing food truck located near the Good Food Store in Bethel. They offer a delectable selection of slow-cooked meats such as pulled pork, beef brisket, ribs, and pulled chicken, all dry-rubbed with secret spices and smoked using local hardwood at low heat for an extended period. The menu also includes classic sides like baked beans, cornbread, and coleslaw. Customers can enjoy their meals at outdoor picnic tables.
Went at 7 on a Sunday first time vistor. Driven by it but as a weekday skiier dozens of times but it's never open. Went for my first time and was impressed. A lot of food in the 2 meat plate, pulled pork and brisket too much to eat so I ate like a king with a meaty breakfast. Spicey bbq sauce was excellent. Beans were end of day, and dry but man were they good, excellent rich stewed flavor! I think the cornbread could have used a little more salt tho, my only complaint.

Delicious food! Brisket was by far my favorite, but everything i tried on the menu was good! & very fair prices for the portion you get. Which is very rare these days. Definitely a great spot to check out. Highly recommend 😋 (my dog also approved)

Hmm.. either they were having an off day or folks just don't know what decent BBQ really is. Friday lunch.. decent line of folks ordering/eating so they were churning through product. I knew as soon as I opened the clamshell this was not going to be good - dry brisket, mushy beans and moist cornbread. Yup... brisket was very dry and inedible... beans had good flavor though the texture was meh. Mac salad was average. Cornbread wrapped in foil was soggy.. best part - spicy BBQ sauce! Again.. maybe an off day.. but I'd skip next time for sure!!

#1 favorite roadside meal I’ve EVER had. The BBQ “Sundae” (pulled pork, cornbread, beans, pickles etc for just $11) makes me wish I could hover-craft back there right now—just how do you guys do this?!? AMAZING food that is totally worth any wait…yep, at prime-time I had my doubts; but henceforth I’ll sit at those grassy green picnic tables with ecstatic anticipation. Love you so, Smokin’!

My first American BBQ experience was a b this place on my holiday to bethel. It was unreal, I got the chicken in the bone, and the ribs, both were amazing. Was served with lovely cornbread, j got beans and coleslaw. Really recommend going here, I had a taste of my friends brisket which tasted unbelievable, I think I’ll get that next time I visit bethel. 10/10 highly recommend

Not impressed with anything we got, lite half rack, brisket, chopped pork, and the beans. I was so hoping to love this place and was totally disappointed. Staff was friendly and they were definitely busy.

Smells good from the road. We got the Shredded Pork, Shredded chicken, Brisket and Half chicken. The brisket was dry almost like beef Jerky. The best Tasting and moist meat was the half chicken. We felt as if the meals together wasnt worth the $48 dollars spent.

Burnt Beyond Recognition BBQ Got these ribs this evening, they were inedible. Bought full rack with two sides and a large smoked cashew. Nothing was to our satisfaction. The ribs were burnt and inedible, the corn had no flavor and tasted watery (frozen corn) and the Cole slaw tasted like it came from Sysco and the cashew had a very unpleasant finish to them. I drove 20 minutes to return the ribs. The person working the window showed no remorse and said that most people like them cooked that way. I asked if she had any with less crust and was told no. I am amazed that the people working there think this is an acceptable dish to serve. Was given a partial refund, but still feel very unsatisfied by both the horrible food and the callous attitude of the staff. The truck refused to credit my card for the return and insisted on giving me cash, that is not how I wanted to be reimbursed but no cares from the server. I am sure they will not miss my future business, but they should be ashamed to call themselves a BBQ joint serving such food and then trying to defend it. It's unfortunate because I was told by many people on social media to go with the ribs. Believe me, I don't have a problem letting them all know about my bad experience.

Millbrook Tavern & Grille

Bar & grill
Located in the charming town of Bethel, Maine, Millbrook Tavern is a popular bar and grill known for serving the best wings in town. With picturesque views overlooking the renowned Bethel Inn Golf Course, it's the perfect spot to enjoy a cold beer and delicious food. The tavern offers weekly specials at great prices and features a cozy atmosphere for families and friends to gather. Additionally, visitors can take advantage of the lighted outdoor rink before heading downstairs for a nightcap.
We stopped in on August 11 after an internet search for lunch spots in Bethel led us here and we were glad it did. The spinach & arugula salad was delicious (a little heavy on the onions but they were easily pushed aside), broccoli cheddar soup also delicious and we were happy to see it was vegetarian. We also had the Bavarian pretzel with two awesome dips-beer cheese & mustard, both yummy. The pretzel was good but had way too much salt on it for my taste, had to brush it off to enjoy the pretzel but that wasn’t a big deal. If you like your pretzel salty you’ll be fine. Jake was a great server, attentive and friendly. Good beer choices too.

Atmosphere was great and staff was extremely helpful. We ended up not eating here ONLY because we stopped in at 3pm and the dinner service does not start until 5pm. They only had apps and drinks at that time. We will try again on another visit to Bethel after 5pm and repost our food review.

Love this place. Staff was incredibly helpful, shout out to Paul! Tavern Salad was amazing; only complaint, pull the cheese balls out and let them defrost, center was still frozen. Would pass on the sticky shrimp.

Just left the Millbrook Tavern. DO NOT order their lobster roll. Not only is it half the size of a regular size roll - but it includes only 1 1/2 pieces of lobster that was FULL of shells! After bringing this to their attention they didn’t even take anything off the bill. When I asked the server If she spoke to the manager, she took the bill back and they only ended up comping half of the price of the lobster roll. Extremely disappointing and very poor in my opinion, we have eaten there many times spent lots of money on several occasions. This was by far the worst meal I’ve ever had there and the worst lobster roll ever. Steer clear they have definitely gone downhill!

Call the hotel first! It was closed. No sign. Website said open. We and 2 other parties showed up to watch the Patriots. The kind cashier in the gift shop that was opened couldn't say why. We asked her to pass on that the website needed updating.

Only one server on a very busy Sunday. She took other folks’ orders prior to ours. We were there before other parties. Very rude…when asked for salt and pepper she snapped I’m on my way!!! 😡 she’s definitely in the wrong profession. Will not go back.

Gemini Cafe & Bakery is a popular spot for breakfast, drawing in a crowd even right at opening time. The streamlined service ensures that the wait isn't too long, and the delicious food makes it worth it. Customers rave about the baked goods, with one person particularly impressed by the walnut thyme bread. The cafe also offers gluten-free options and uses organic flour for those concerned about glyphosate. With its modern atmosphere and friendly staff, this bakery is highly recommended for anyone visiting the area.
Absolutely perfect pastrami on their house made seeded rye sourdough. The bread was soft with a crispy crust. Real fermented kraut, cornichons, and Dijon. Service was good. Only thing I didn’t love was the chairs, difficult to navigate between tables to sit down.

Had breakfast here two mornings in a row on our trip to Maine. Despite a line up and being super busy the staff was so pleasant to deal with. Place was recommended by our Airbnb host and it did not disappoint! Bagels were delicious and the cream cheese was unlike anything I’ve had before, it was soo fresh and creamy without being heavy. Loved the variety of cream cheese. The pastries are a must try, especially the scones and cinnamon swirl. Coffee was good too and their matcha was well made. I live in a city with amazing bakeries yet I am dreaming of this place and looking forward to visiting the area only for this cafe!

I’ve experienced cafes and bakeries all over the world and it’s rare to experience one that offers this degree of quality, variety, and epic flavor. I came here with a group of seven and we shared numerous pizzas, sandwiches, bagels and pastries, all of which were delicious and unique. The breads, ingredients, local veggies, meats, fruits, and so much more, create great meal combinations that are PACKED with flavor. And the same goes for the pastries. All of this is made possible by a super helpful staff, reasonable prices and plenty of seats. You simply can’t go wrong here as you get a very quick yummy meal. Stop by, you’re welcome!

Stopped here for a quick lunch on our way from VT to ME and we are so glad we did! Delicious fresh sandwiches on their delicious house made bread. But didn’t stop there- took a blueberry scone and a morning glory muffin for the ride. Can’t decide which was better. Everything was fresh, organic and homemade 😋

I found Gemini traveling through Maine and I wish I lived closer to come more often. The service is wonderful and quick. Their pastries and breads look incredible. I had their New Yorker which is a Lox breakfast. I put it on their sesame bagel. It was spot on! I've had their cold brew twice now and it was delicious. If I'm ever traveling in the area again I'll be sure to stop by. Highly recommend.

Dunkin' is a well-established chain known for its popular breakfast items and an array of coffee beverages. The store experiences high traffic during morning and evening hours, with efficient staff managing both in-store and drive-thru orders. Customers have praised the proactive approach of the staff in handling long queues at the drive-thru. While some have experienced minor hiccups in service, overall feedback highlights great food, a clean environment, friendly staff, and diverse menu options.
They get hit hard when the rushes come through! And they handle it so well. They were so patient as my indecisive 3 year old picked out his donut, despite there being so much else going on. The only down side I ever have is the dinning area doesn't always get the attention it needs. But other than they are great!

Clean location with friendly staff and a good variety of choices. You can order ahead with the app and pick-up inside or via the drive-thru, or you can order at the location. No space is available for dining in, and face masks are required.

The girl at the register had gloves on, handled the money then went and made food with the SAME gloves on and repeated the process several times without changing gloves! So unsanitary and disgusting! Another girl only making food pulled up her pants to cover her crack that was hanging out and never changed her gloves either and went right back to making food for people!

America runs on Dunkin. Hmmm maybe we need less of them like this one. Lousy service. Lots of employees to be that slow. Messing up our order and others. Went in instead of drive thru. Curious which would have been worse. Chaos is a good word for this Dunkin.

Food was great, the service was not. But I ordered three drinks. When i received only two, the help said my third drink was being made - it was only coffee. But after 2 minutes, i returned to the counter...by then they we super busy, so I had wait another 5 or 6 minutes for my coffee. Other than that, it was okay.

Very rude drive through person on August 19 2023 at 12:50 p.m. she took our money and didn't give us our $4 back so we asked for it they rudely said i have no change in my drawer I can't. We did end up getting our change with more attitude. Then we ordered 2 lattes they were Oatmilk and pumpkin swirl we asked if there was espresso in them they said I don't know i didn't make it. Then 2 minutes later they handed us the 2nd latte also just oatmilk and pumpkin swirl and said they said yeah there is espresso. There wasn't there was 0 taste or look of any coffee or espresso. This is why I hate Dunkin. No consistency and rude employees.

One of the busiest shop in the morning and evening hours. We had gone to this shop few times.. Staffs were very polite. Covering both in store and drive thru.. In the morning there was a long queue on the drive thru.. Staffs were very pro-active, monitored the drive thru crowd, gone to each vehicle and taken the orders. This was beyond the expectation.. Rock starts ⭐️ 🌟 I recommend this store!!

Expansive, scenic park, with cross-country skiing & hiking trails, plus hunting & fishing.
This place had been booked marked for me for three years and we finally went. It is going to be added to our yearly summer vacation rotation. The kids played for hours and didn’t beg to go home and play with electronics. The whole family loved it. If you are adventurous go all the way to the top and bring a packed lunch. You can spend hours here! The whole family loved it!

Great place to drive through with scenic views and multiple places to stop and explore. Ideal if you've got a sleeping baby in the car. One person can stay in the car with baby while others check out short walks to waterfalls, caves and gorges. Moose Cave was best stop, not to be missed. Many grab and go geocaches to find as well. Pies and cookies from roadside stand Puzzle Bakery worth the stop.

Sunday River Golf Club is a picturesque destination offering stunning views of the Mahoosuc Mountains. The Clubhouse serves delicious meals throughout the day, allowing visitors to savor their food while taking in the breathtaking scenery. Despite some challenges with course conditioning, this 5-star course continues to attract golf enthusiasts with its undulating fairways and greens, thick roughs, and strategically placed sand bunkers.
Everyone was very nice, helpful, and friendly. We used their rental clubs, all brand new clubs. They had plenty of sets. Jerry and Tom were top notch! The course was in pristine condition! The views around the golf course are unbelievably beautiful!! This is a must do if you are near it! I will be making a trip back to Maine just to play this course again!!!
Skylar S — Google review
The course has absolutely stunning views of the mountains on each hole and the staff is incredibly friendly. I’ll definitely be back.
Eric S — Google review
Don’t waste your time or money. Course has nice views, that’s about it. Staff is incredibly disrespectful, and it nearly ruined a fun day golfing. The ranger Jeff wasn’t even at the first tee when we were heading there then he rolls over and yells at us we’re supposed to be teeing off. Maybe you should be at your post on time bud. Then he comes at us on 17 telling us we’re too slow and need to hurry up and that we’re on pace for 5 hour round. Claims the group in from is already on 18. No duh, there was 3 of them and 4 of us of course they were ahead. Finished the round in 4:38, I timed it on my watch, probably less since according to Jeff we were late to the tee. Maybe you shouldn’t have 10 minute windows and it wouldn’t be so cramped. Or only half staff on your crew to keep the course looking good. Wonder why they can’t get employees. There’s plenty of nicer places to play in Maine, spend your money on something that isn’t corporate trash. And if you do go, and are feeling generous, buy Jeff a math lesson. Cart girl and the younger guy at the check in were nice though. I’d give it a zero if it weren’t for them.
Matthew — Google review
Amazing scenery and beautiful and challenging course. Gerry was great at giving lessons and it was like having white glove service where they drive the golf cart to you and when you are done, wait for you to unload and take the cart from you. They supply Sunday River Tees! Friendly staff, great course. Will return on Maine Wednesday for the discount. The course was in much better shape and cost less money than it's neighbor, the Bethel Inn Golf Club.
Jeannie M — Google review
The course had stunning views of the mountains and was maintained gorgeously. Challenging but fun course design with the elevation changes and protected greens. Tom at the pro shop was incredibly helpful and got our group from out of town set up and ready for a great round of golf. Would recommend this course to anyone, worth going out of your way to play here.
Donald S — Google review
Just another day in paradise. There isn’t anything not to like about this course from tee to green. Friendly staff, Luxurious rolling fairways, and well maintained bunkers (although I only found 1 on hole 1). The greens were rolling slow which doesn’t bother me any. I shot incredibly well for my first time playing this course, but I couldn’t have asked for better playing conditions. Top 4 course in Maine! My other 3 are Belgrade, Sugarloaf and Samoset (in no particular order).
Ashton W — Google review
Truly an amazing experience. The course (august) was in tip top shape. The greens make awesome “thud” sounds when you land them. They have a great setup here. It felt pricey / splurge for me but once I got on the course, it was the best $$$ spent on my trip. Decent pro shop - everyone is friendly.

Brewery
Steam Mill Brewing is a trendy and vibrant microbrewery located in Bethel, Maine. Founded by James Kimball, Scott, and Koral Fraser, this brewery offers an array of small-batch craft beers that cater to various tastes. From Belgian-style wheat beer to lagers and Czech-style pilsners, there's something for everyone. The brewery also hosts live music events every night and serves delectable food from the LeMuEats Food Truck.
Love this place. Great vibes The backyard burger is the best burger in the state; no question. The Nashville hot chicken sandwich is huge and juicy. The French onion soup is incredible. The truffle fries are excellent and come in generous quantity. Their cocktails are creative and delicious! The Waitstaff are all local and very friendly. The camaraderie they share with one another is fantastic and it’s clear they all love their job. The owner is regularly working alongside them.

It was our first time here but we were disappointed. The beers are ok but the food quality was not good at all! The wings was burnt out and it was different from the regular wings! The Nachos was not fresh and the cheese on it was greasy. I don’t recommend this place for the food.

From start to finish, our experience was nothing short of excellent. Our server, Danelle, went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of — attentive, kind, and on point with every detail. Service like that really makes a difference. The food was outstanding. Compliments to the chef for delivering dishes that were not only hot and freshly made, but absolutely delicious. The crab cakes in particular were phenomenal — and as someone born and raised in Maryland, I can honestly say they were some of the best I’ve had. That’s high praise! The atmosphere added so much to the evening. It was calm, inviting, and perfect for spending time with my brothers as we celebrated a bachelor party. It felt like the ideal balance of upscale and comfortable, letting us really enjoy our time together. Overall, this place checks every box — excellent service, amazing food, and a great environment. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience.

Good food and staff were excellent. Everything came out in a timely manner and everyone was so friendly. Our only complaint were the chairs were very hard and uncomfortable but we would definitely go back. Photos are strawberry margarita, candied pecan peach cobbler, falafel bowl without hummus and haddock tacos. All very good.

First time here . Entered to bar area . Busy at bar not busy at tables . Some people eating outdoors . Hostess says wait is 25 mins . Took name and number . We went outside to wait . They said the wait was to take it easy on the cook . Minimal people eating but it’s ok we are not in a hurry . We both got a lemonade . Waited for a text over half an hour . Checked the toast app and it said come in but never got the text to come in . So my guest went in and the waitress came out to where we were sitting . We got plastic utensils and a menu and ordered the Shrimp Bao . Waited and a different waitperson came over and took our order after the app . Whole visit at least 1 1/2 hours but the food was worth every min . Everything tasted amazing . They were open when most places were closed . Not sure I’d like to be there at a busy hour but they have a great menu and food . Service was not super but maybe they were short on staff . I’d definitely go back !

Killer food, killer beer, killer atmosphere, and service was all pro. They smoke their own meat, so the brisket was 1st class. Pils was crisp with perfect bitter and porter was fantastic. Very glad we stopped in.

We frequently visited the original location downtown! <3 We’ve never had a bad time here. We used to be season pass holders and don’t come up as much anymore but things are still great. You’ll find locals here. Fish tacos are super. They used to do the bao buns with the pork or pork belly and I miss those. The outdoor space and live music is a great vibe after summer/fall activities.
Gina M — Google review
Ambience was nice and typical of a microbrewery. Plenty of seating inside and outside. Was quite loud inside, but not atypical. It must have been a busy evening as it seemed like there was a big party outside they needed to accommodate. It took over 45 minutes to get our appetizers and over 65 minutes to get our meals. Food was good but we were never checked on and needed a few extra things for the meals. By the time someone came close to us, we needed to flag them down to tell them we were ready for the bill. If your there for just drinks and hanging with friends after a long summer hike or winter ski trip, hit this place up. If you’re starving for a meal, maybe try them at a different time.

Sunday River Brewing Company is a popular large brewery in town that offers a variety of pub eats including flatbreads, burgers, salads, and even donuts. The atmosphere is relaxing with the option to sit inside or outside on the patio. While the outside seating provides a nice ambiance, there may be some issues with ants and bugs. The brewery offers an impressive selection of 8 different beers which can be sampled on a board.
Not only was the beer very good, the food was sensational. My wife insisted the Greek salad was the best she's ever experienced and I had the nachos that were fabulous.

Had dinner here and eat inside in the dining room. The atmosphere was "fun" and festive. I thought the meals were okay, nothing special other than plenty of food. But the cost was outrageously high. I felt like I was paying captive ski lodge prices for average food. They did have a band that night, but after spending nearly $100 for a couple drinks a burger, simple salad and pasta, it was time to get out of there. I won't be back to this place.

Stopped here for dinner on Father's Day 2025. It was after 6 PM, the parking lot was pretty full so I bypassed the check-in line and headed straigt for the bar. The service was fast and friendly. The beers are well crafted but a bit too hoppy for me. The chowder and lobster roll were good but the chowder was pretty small for the price. I think this place is a little overpriced in general but I would stop in again for the food.
Bob B — Google review
The price of the food is really very high for what you get.. The food is bar food. Yes, it's 6 dollars more to get fries. The burger is already over 20 dollars without toppings.. I ordered fish and chips and honestly it was mediocre at best..You get a few frozen sections of chewy fish, and fries. Forget the Cole slaw that's an extra 6$ .. I'm honestly surprised I was given tartar sauce! I won't be back here to eat. I ate at the Black Pearl in Rangely and the food is outstanding. The Common Man also has excellent food and they are a Brewery. Maybe the owners should ask them for some help.

Nice and welcoming staff, homey environment. The mac and cheese was my favorite dish. Texture was perfect, but lacked some flavor. The pizza was delicious, no complaints. The roasted garlic pizza is INCREDIBLE! Best pizza I’ve ever had. We switched the spinach for pepperoni and it was amazing. The Sweet Chili Wings were alright. Sauce was good but wings were a bit dry. Overall decent place to head over for dinner after a long day on the slopes!

The waitress was absolutely delightful. The food not so much, unless you prefer subpar pub food. Got a $33 lobster roll that had zero taste and wasn’t seasoned with anything at all. For that price I would go elsewhere and get something tasty.

Stopped in on a Wednesday during our camping trip. We were warmly greeted and sat out on the deck. Service was quick and friendly (Thank You Angela!). Food was good. We got 2 pizzas a kids burger meal and the chili dog. Tried 2 onthe IPAs and both were good. Will visit again if we are in the area.

Seems like lipstick on a Sysco truck, which I do appreciate the effort. Roasted Garlic Pizza (22$-5/5), Steak and Cheese (19$-3/5) & Brew Pub Salad (16$-4/5). All of the beers I tried were very good, two come to mind as being excellent, the Jamaican Stout and Mountain Mama.

A nice little place. Went for dinner, and it was very cool to see the vats where they make their beer. Food was nice, but could have been slightly better. Waitress was friendly.

It offers a fantastic dining experience, whether you're looking for lunch, après-ski hangouts or a leisurely dinner. Located at Sunday River, this establishment boasts a clean and attractive atmosphere upstairs where guests can enjoy an entirely different menu from downstairs.
The food is super tasty!! And relatively decent prices compared to other restaurants in the area. Their house salad is big too!

Solid little ski bar with Shipyard draft beer and a full stock of spirits/liqueur. Very friendly and attentive staff! Fun patio with a fire pit if you prefer to soak up the sun…but plenty of room inside. Really enjoyed their Alpiner Burger (sautéed mushrooms and fontina cheese)…asked for medium rare and they did not disappoint (so juicy!). Fries and chips are solid. My parents enjoyed the French onion soup (and they do love their soups).

We had a blast after a great weekend of skiing at Sunday river! Live music was off the chart the food was great and the service was very friendly and Timely. Great craft beer selection. Outdoor bar service with fire pit was the perfect way to end our weekend

Great place, delicious food and drinks! I enjoyed their bloody Mary and crispy popcorn chicken, looking forward to going back soon! They have live music there as well, which is always a plus!

Loveeee the Shipyard Brewing down on White Cap Lodge offers amazing burgers and chicken sandwiches for a quick table dinning meal amid the ski day. they offer a great selection of beers on tap on January 2021 the Finder and the blueberry beers on tap were most popular and savory. they also have an outdoor window during the ski months to sell quick alcohol purchases to enjoy while hanging out by the large campfire outdoors. More importantly during these covid times, the restaurant is extremely covid cautious, they have glass walls all around the bar area and in between dining tables. They also have a customer limited capacity and monitor their numbers strictly to keep the restaurant following covid19 precautionary safety guidelines.

Ordered an app of homemade chips and dip. I think we got about 20-25 potato chips for $12.00. I don’t even think it was a full potato sliced up. Portions were very small and expensive. I get it that’s it’s a convenience thing at a ski resort but we went down the road to another place we had been before where the prices were about the same but at least you got enough of a portion to make up for the price.

Good pub food, fun atmosphere, very accommodating staff. Cheapest beer prices on the mountain with good selection.

Dined upstairs, prior to concert. The room was nice, clean, pretty. Service was slow- I imagine due to concert partially. Entirely different menu upstairs than down- no "pub style" food. Did have a cup of chowder which was very good but absolutely Would have enjoyed access to downstairs menu. (Burgers and such) Would go back for shows but likely would not dine upstairs.
