Sights & Landmarks
Fort Western, situated on the banks of the Kennebec River in Augusta, is a significant National Historical Monument and the oldest surviving wooden fort in New England. Dating back to 1754, it holds a rich history from its military fort days during the French & Indian War to serving as a trading post, store, political meeting place, tenement, and private home. The well-preserved structure houses historic collections and original period artifacts.
I love history! So this place is amazing to look around and learn about what it is like to live in old age. I love the kitchen area in particular. The place is amazing! And thank you for preserving them.
Joy M — Google review
The Nation's oldest wooden fort has so much to offer! Re enactments, educational programs, and the best little museum store in town make Old Fort Western a must see for Mainers and vacationers alike. Tour season kicks off in June and lasts throughout the Summer.

Roger is amazing tour guide! Very knowledgeable.

This place is very cool, showing the defenses on the river and the way settlers lived. Although the docent can be a little long-winded it's all good information and very fascinating.
* D — Google review
The fort is amazingly well-maintained, and full of fascinating artifacts and history, but it's the guides that made it truly great. The amount of history they were able to share, especially about things you wouldn't normally learn about, like everyday life in the frontier, was incredible, and made the experience very, very worth it. Highly recommend to everyone, but especially if you have any interest in history.
Andy G — Google review
Very interesting piece of history, we really enjoyed the guided tour.

Greg our tour guide was awesome. He walked us through the fort explaining the history of the fort itself as well as the artifacts within. Truly amazing to think this has all been preserved for us to learn from.

Arboretum
Nature & Parks
Viles Arboretum is a vast 220-acre public park featuring a diverse collection of over 300 tree species, shrubs, and plants. With 6 miles of trails that wind through forests, gardens, wetlands, meadows, and more, visitors can immerse themselves in the serene beauty of this botanical garden. The arboretum offers opportunities for bird-watching, butterfly spotting, and observing Maine's native wildlife.
A fun place to take a short walk in town in Augusta. The trails are very well maintained and take you through diverse ecosystems like prairies, wetlands, natural forests, and orchards. Most trails are pretty flat too, and they are all well marked, so you're never far from a sign showing you what trail you're on. The trails are well used by the community throughout the year, but I never had any trouble finding a spot in the parking lot. There's also a gift shop with bathrooms and some local nature merchandise at the front too.
Brian Z — Google review
It was nice to get out in the sunshine and enjoy the blooms. It was perfect weather to explore areas of the arboretum that I hadn't seen before. They have expanded and added new trails and signage since my last visit. Still more to explore.
Marjorie — Google review
Went on the outer trail late morning/early afternoon on a crisp fall thursday. The trail was well groomed, but the portion through the forest was a bit difficult; i would not consider it handicap accessible. Most of the trails go through the grassy knoll and are less difficult, so would be great for the whole family. We saw a Great Blue Heron hunting for fish in one of the small ponds. There are many educational plaques throughout and there were many families with small children on picnics. Dogs are allowed, just PLEASE keep them on a leash.
Lev A — Google review
I visited after some heavy rains. I headed out on the trails, crossed a bridge that desperately needed repairs. I then ended up at a stream crossing that was boggy and would’ve been over the top of my hiking boots and there was no provision for stepping stones or a bridge. I had to turn around and head out after spending only about 15 minutes. I don’t think this is a fair evaluation and hope to spend an hour or two exploring the place, but was unable to because of poor trail maintenance.

It was my first visit at Viles Alboretum. I visited on Saturday, December 16 2023. I arrived at about 12:30, it was about 38 to 40 degrees f The trails were a bit slippery and muddy along the way. We just had 8" of snow fall on us a week before, and then the outside temperature would rise during the daytime and freeze during the evenings. It was 40*f on Satuday, and the sun was shining as you will witness in the photos that I have provided of the property. There are 3 trails that you can hike at Viles Alboretum, The longest being 1.25 miles and 2 others that are approximately .5 miles in length. They are all relatively easy to stroll along and are pet friendly as long as you keep your pet on a leash and dispose your dogs waste products in the proper dispensaries. There are also some common sense rules in place not to disturb the wildlife or forage on the many acres of property. Please don't litter. The staff that I met along one of the trails was very friendly as well as informative. The scenery and wildlife at this Sanctuary are beautiful! The conversations that I had with others on he Crossroads and trails at Viles Alboretum were priceless! I will be sure to visit again! Donation boxes are present for those who would like to donate to the cause. https://g.co/kgs/Wzeyva

Scenic and vast trail system, surprisingly right in the heart of Augusta. There's a parking lot with ample spots to which in Summer, during vacation season, it was nice to be able to drive straight into the Arboretum and not have to search for parking. Leading up to the forested trails were interesting stone sculptures, which is a nice touch, and there was even a cute little bee farm! The only major criticism I would have is that the trails aren't as well managed, not completely neglected, but there were points along the paths where me and my husband had to trudge through fallen tree needles and small twigs which made it a chore to walk. All in all, it's a good way to get out and explore nature without having to drive out of the way and with a walk which isn't rigorous. We will be going again sometime in the fall as I expect the trees and crops will be pretty.
Lorn S — Google review
This is an amazing and exciting place to walk and enjoy nature. There are several trails to take depending on how much walking you would like to do. If you enjoy birding... this is a one place you have to go. It is a hot spot for birders. Check out the visitor and gift shop area. They have many programs for all ages.
Verthosand P — Google review
Great place to take a walk with friends and family or bring the pet for a wilderness jog. Have always had a blast here and always get to enjoy seeing some wildlife no matter what time of the year it may be. There are snow shoe trails and also cross country skiing trails. The as arboretum does unfortunately close at dark, which kills the idea of a night hike in the woods but still a very cool place to visit . Highly recommended

Nature & Parks
Gardens
Capitol Park is a historic 34-acre public park located near the Kennebec River in Augusta. It has a rich history dating back nearly 200 years and was generously donated by local citizens for the construction of the State House. The park features mature trees, extensive lawns, and was once used as an encampment site during the Civil War. Visitors can enjoy stately old trees, picturesque river views, and convenient amenities such as picnic tables.
A great neighborhood park in all seasons. There is a decent network of walking paths through the lawn and trees, plus some benches for relaxing. In the winter, the paths aren't cleared, but they are mostly packed down so they're still passable, though parts of the park flood during snowmelt and then freeze. There's nice foliage in the fall and spring, and it's a great place to sit during the summer as well. Definitely the highlight of the capitol complex!
Brian Z — Google review
This is a great park. Well maintained and it has a lot of room for lawn activities. You can also jog and walk here with access to the rail trail not too far away.
Jamin F — Google review
Nice walk going under tons of trees. Path that circles the park and two that goes through the center. Makes for a good walk. People walk who work in the Capital area buildings.
Bonnie L — Google review
The Maine Capitol Park is quiet and clean (we were there around 6pm of a Wednesday) 👍 It's worth passing by and being able to rest awhile (on our way to North Conway NH) 😉
Marcelo C — Google review
Lovely, well kept, and vast. The tables and benches are a nice touch. Only downside was that both doggy bag dispensers were completely empty.
Daniel C — Google review
We go to Capital Park almost weekly for a calm walk when we aren't feeling up to a hike. It's a wonderful leash required area to train and work with your dog.
Kayla P — Google review
A quiet, gorgeous little park that is full of photo possibilities. Offers views of the state building and a well maintained walking path. There are several well maintained garden beds and a smooth walking path. There are plenty of benches, but no public restrooms There is parking along the boundary streets.

Absolutely beautiful place. We drove from Detroit to Bangor (16 hrs) and stopped here to have our lunch out of the car. It is just a field surrounded by picnic tables, benches, and a path. Our toddler enjoyed running. It was so gorgeous, and everyone we encountered was extremely nice.

Specialty Museums
Sonny's Museum & Rock Shop in Augusta is a unique and popular destination for shopping. It offers a wide variety of colorful handmade items crafted from rocks and gems, perfect for decorating your home or giving as gifts. The collection includes specimens gathered from around the world, making it an intriguing place to explore. In addition to traditional rock specimens, the shop also features new age crystal energy products and spiritual readings.
Sonny's is hands down my favorite local small shop filled with all kinds of crystals and treasures. The June 2022 Spirital Retreat was amazing and full of wonderful experiences. 10/10 recommend to anyone needing some good energy!
Crystal P — Google review
One of the last of the old time Maine rock shops, Sonny's remains current with a great mix of traditional specimens and new age crystal energy and spiritual readings products. Great owner and great prices make this an Augusta destination. Don't be fooled by the mall stores. This is the real deal and worth the drive. Check out the website for special deals and insider offers. Cant say enough about this great shop. Its living history and new age all in one.
Jason W — Google review
My first real visit to Augusta and I had stumbled upon this rock shop. It was easily one of the best rock shops I've been to with some of the largest variety, I even found coral! A shame Augusta is so far away because I'd love to go again but it's a must-stop for me now whenever I find myself in the area. The owner was very friendly and as a 30 year old rockhound and history buff I had plenty to keep me busy.

Great friendly atmosphere when you walk in you feel like family. Custom handmade wrapped jewelry amazing stone formations. You need to see it to believe it wonderful place. I absolutely love how much customer protection is in place with the COVID-19 regulations, the owner is really committed to the mask and sanitizing regulations

Seafood restaurant
The Red Barn is a charming roadside eatery in Maine that offers a simple yet delightful dining experience. Known for its delectable lobster rolls, including the indulgent Crustacean Elation with up to three pounds of lobster meat, this local favorite also serves fantastic fried chicken. While it's only open seasonally until April, it's well worth the wait. The restaurant is beloved by locals and visitors alike for its mouthwatering seafood dishes and hearty soups.
Wow what a great place! Fun atmosphere and delicious food! Cold when we were there but I bet in the warm weather it is crazy busy. The portions are huge so don't let the cost scare you. Great food and just a super neat place!
Amy C — Google review
Absolutely fabulous place. If you're anywhere near the Augusta area, and you want a lobster roll, come here. They do them Maine, or New England style. I got mine NE style, warm with butter, and it had the meat of about 5 or 6 full lobster claws in it. The seafood stew is fantastic as well. Staff is great, food is fresh, service is fast, prices are good.
Dustin F — Google review
Amazing little restaurant tucked near 95. We stopped here for a quick lunch on a Saturday on our way home from Acadia. We had lobster rolls, both plain (just served with lobster meat and side of butter) and cold with mayo. For $20 each, you can’t beat this when the prices elsewhere are so much higher! Best of all, the rolls had big, fresh chunks of lobster… well worth it and delicious! We also had an “appetizer” size of clamstrips which was huge, and the “snack” size chicken nuggets (also big enough for a meal and then some). Highly recommend stopping in if you can!
Caroline H — Google review
Such a nice local place with delicious food and great people. It has a very "cliche" American vibe with country music, interior, local people and huge portions. Food was great and sauces are free, just ask. There are two rooms inside and plenty of space outside. So far, it's the best fastfood restaurant I've been to.

We stopped at Red Barn as a rest stop during our drive from Bar Harbor to Boston, and we’re so glad we did! Ordering online was super easy, and our food was ready right when we arrived. The atmosphere was wonderful—casual, welcoming, and full of charm—with plenty of seating options both inside and out. The weather was beautiful, so we enjoyed our meal outside under an umbrella. The lobster roll was absolutely fantastic—fresh, perfectly seasoned, and simply delicious. You could really taste the quality and care that went into it. We especially loved how the owners honor both veterans and fur babies—it really speaks to the heart of the place. We originally found Red Barn through a quick Google search for places near Augusta, and it turned out to be an excellent choice. The service was great, the food was top-notch, and the experience exceeded our expectations. Highly recommend stopping here if you’re in the area!

Red Barn was awesome. The clamp straps out of this world, lobster roll the great!! What more can I say, great service, great atmosphere, great food. I'm an out of towner, but I wish I was a local so I could eat there every day.

Good spot for decent food. The "clean" lobster roll was tasty. A bit smaller than expected but sufficient. The "pint" fried seafood sampler - clams, scallops, haddock, and shrimp - was good. Plenty of food in the sampler for probably two people.

As the day transitions into evening, the restaurant transforms into a chic cocktail bar, offering a multifaceted dining experience. The innovative menu features traditional and contemporary dishes prepared with fresh, local ingredients.
My boyfriend and I heard about a special they were doing, it was a poutine breakfast. It was amazing, the brown gravy was so flavorful and rich. It was a really good price for the size of the dish, which was huge. The wait staff was super sweet and attentive, overall it was a great experience!

Girlfriend visit ... Sat there for HOURS started with a fantastic breakfast. Good coffee. The wait staff was amazing. Food was wonderful and well presented.

I planned for brunch with my family on Easter. We have always had excellent food here, but this year was horrible. There was only one type of egg, the hash brown was disgusting, the bacon and sausage were overdone and the only other choice they had was ham. The only thing even a quarter way good was the desserts and I can make better ones than that. It was the worst $600 we ever spent!
Carole B — Google review
I had surgery in my throat before going here... Not even 3 hours before. The first thing I wanted was the best sherbet I could find. Thankfully cloud 9 provided the best! And they weren't kidding. It was some of the best that I've ever had. Thank you very much Cloud Nine by changing a bad day into a good one!
Karl D — Google review
The food wasn't too bad, calamari was a bit chewy but otherwise delicious. The steak was cooked wonderful but the asparagus was undercooked and still very crunchy, they offered to switch it out but I didn't like any of the other dishes they had. They say us in the very back of the restaurant where there was one other family with a very rambunctious child, kind of ruined date night. Otherwise not bad.
Alex M — Google review
Easter dinner, my mom brought my kids. The reservation required to pre pay for your food. They offered quiche(taste not bad presentation was terrible), prime rib (my mom said was good) eggs benedict(she wouldn't attempt bc the presentation was so terrible), corn beef hash was made from scratch she thinks, it was ok. Carrots were bot cooked. Bacon was soggy and not crispy. Sausage was ok, cooked but not browned, presentation was not worth the 75 per person. At the end of the day they would have rathered the patrons throw leftovers away than give them a to go box. My kids were not impressed and niether was my mother. Will not return.

If it werent for the exceptional service, Id rate this a full 2 stars. Pizza bar was a disapointment. Atmosphere felt more like a resturant inside a nursing home. They need to work on the decor and vibe.
LPH H — Google review
The new pot stickers were fabulous, light and tender and beautiful, Oysters super fresh, seafood medley great as always, honey soy and parmesan crusted scallops were both big hits. We ended happily with the chocolate mousse and triple berry meringue. It was quiet and the server was very pleasant and attentive. It was a very successful birthday dinner.

Steak house
Texas Roadhouse is a lively chain steakhouse that offers American cuisine with a Southwestern twist, set amidst Texas-themed decor. The restaurant provides an exceptional dining experience with friendly service and the opportunity to handpick your steak upon arrival. The staff is known for their warmth and attentiveness, ensuring that customers are satisfied with their meals. While some have found the beef selection to be limited at certain locations, the overall food quality has been praised, particularly the fresh rolls and ribs.
Stopped in for dinner for one. First time customer, i had Harley pick out my rib eye, she was very nice. Salem was a great and friendly server as well. Steak was enjoyable. Salad was very fresh. Sweet potato was perfectly done. Had a great experience overall.

Nice dining experience in this steakhouse. They made us wait a couple of minutes, though it was not packed. Our waitress was great, the food was really tasty and the prices really good. The bread buns are delicious. We had sirloin steaks medium well and they were right on spot.

Great restaurant, food, very slow service but friendly. Food was good, beer as well. Located right off Interstate 95. Plenty of free parking!
Jean-Francois L — Google review
My experience was great at the restaurant, the only complaint I could say I have is that it took a very long time for the actual meal to come out but outside of that, it was great. Our waitress was amazing, I think she deserves a raise for her service skills and prompt service for every ask we had. I was a little disappointed with how long the dinner part took to get with how fast the appetizer came out and the restaurant not being nearly as busy as it usually is.

Went for lunch this afternoon arrived 12:45 ordered before 1 oclock just 3 adults and my autistic daughter. Waitress started off very friendly drinks came within 5 minuets. However then 20 minuets went by after ordering and the starters chilli and Cesar salad never came another 10 minuets someone came and dropped the chilli and Cesar salad. Two tables had then Ben sat since we sat down one a 3 top and then a 9 top. Our waitress came over once we were eating the chili and Cesar salad and said our food got dropped on the floor so it was being “rushed” at this time I had to ask for another basket of rolls and refills she didn’t offer either. another almost 20 minuets go by and BOTH of the tables who had sat down after us got their food INCLUDING THE 9 PERSON TABLE. I then asked a different server to please send over our waitress as we didn’t want to wait anymore. We had been there for over an hour and my daughter was starting to get fussy where she is autistic being out for super long periods of time can be hard. Our waitress never asked us for refills we had to ask for them. Overall really sad experience at Texas road house. Our food was comped off the bill but I ended up paying 20$ because we still had drinks the chili and salad and I didn’t feel right not paying for those. A manager never even came out to speak to us or apologize about the wait or explain the situation or offer us anything! As someone who is also a waitress this is just out right HORRIBLE HORRIBLE service.
Savannah M — Google review
11/22/2025 around 1pm, table 14 i believe.. only got drinks and haven't seen waitress at all for half hour. After a half hour with No rolls, we asked another waitress for some rolls. She said they were making some but a family just sat down and got a fresh plate of them.. The wonderful server brought us our food. We explained that we haven't seen our waitress, Elizabeth, since we got our drinks. The server was amazing. She apologized and immediately brought us rolls. (The rolls were important only because we had bragged about them to our son, who we were celebrating for earning high honors).( I didn't catch servers name but she is African American with the most beautiful hair and I wish I could tip just her).. Our waitress showed up just after food was served to ask if we needed anything else (what a joke).. she returned 10min later to ask about boxes, which I wasn't even half through my meal. We boxes up, paid at table and left.

My wife and I are on vacation and the manager of our hotel recommended this place. Boy was he ever so right. We had a wonderful time. The place had super atmosphere, the manager and our waitress were very attentive and most of all the food was awesome. We started out with Buffalo wings that fell off the bone and seasoned just right. Then we both had the Rib Eye’s again cooked to perfection. The buttered corn side was to die for. In total, one of the best dining experiences we had in a long time and if we come back to Augusta we will without a doubt come back👍👍👍 Kevin & Linda Florida USA

It was freezing. Even with a jacket on, I was cold. Steak was rare and potato was ice cold. Server told us the section they sat us in the heater was not working. Never offered to move us. My mom's steak was ice cold and potato luke warm. Manager apologized but nothing else. We do not go out very often and this trip was miserable all the way around.

The atmosphere is lively and inviting, with a spacious patio for outdoor dining. Guests are welcomed with fresh salsa and nachos upon arrival. The menu boasts a wide selection of margaritas to choose from, as well as flavorful Tex-Mex cuisine such as Taco Salad with Chicken.
Food was absolutly fantastic, service was the greatest I've seen in quite awhile. Milani was our server and was an absolute blast. Friendly and on top of things, she made this a great time. The food was wonderful, the 2 lbs taco challenge (I failed) tasted spectacular and was very well priced as well.

Lots of seating options and great server today. Liked the food, but somehow didn't love it. Seems to be heavy on a particular chili spice or something like that that we didnt care for. But fresh food and good portions. Love trying new places when traveling especially so it the spot for that. 2 tacos, taco salad with chicken, and hand held chicken burrito with rice and beans.
Christine D — Google review
I had high hopes for this restaurant but the experience fell short. When we arrived, we were seated at a table that was clearly too small for our party - cramped and uncomfortable. the restaurant was half empty so we asked to be moved, expecting it to be a quick fix, instead, it took 15 minutes to get a more appropriate table which felt unnecessary given how many open tables there were. Once seated, the food was just ok and nothing worth coming back for. That said, our waiter was friendly and did do her best to make us feel welcome which was a bright spot on an otherwise underwhelming visit.
James M — Google review
“I’m actually quite surprised by my experience at this restaurant. This review is based on the plate I had, and I have a few thoughts to share. Firstly, the chips could benefit from a little less salt. However, I must admit they were still good. The sauce, though, was impressive. As someone who enjoys spicy food, I felt it could use a bit more kick, but it was still enjoyable. The Mexican setting of the restaurant added a vibrant and inviting atmosphere to the evening. The warm, cozy lights created a perfect ambiance for a relaxed meal. Now, onto the highlight of my meal – the fajitas. I ordered both chicken and beef, and let me just say, they were seasoned just right. The combination of the tender meat and the mix of veggies, peppers, and onions took the flavor to another level. One suggestion would be to season the rice with a chicken seasoning from Texas or California, which could enhance the overall dish. The beans were pretty good as well. Moreover, I was impressed with the excellent customer service throughout my visit. The waitstaff was knowledgeable about the menu, and their recommendations were spot on. They were quick to attend to any requests, ensuring that my dining experience was smooth and enjoyable. Despite the minor seasoning preferences, I would definitely consider coming back to this restaurant for another meal. To wrap up the experience on a sweet note, I indulged in dessert – churros served with ice cream and a drizzle of chocolate. It was the perfect way to end the meal. In summary, my dining experience was a mix of surprises and delights. While there’s room for some improvement, the overall quality of the food, the warm ambiance, and excellent customer service make this restaurant a place I’d be happy to return to.”

I've eaten here 1000 times Sometimes the food is great, szometimes it is "meh".Regardless, the chips and salsa are always delicious. Service matches food - the busier it is, the worse the food is and the slower the service. Go when its quiet and you won't be disappointed.

Food was good worse service as long as i can remember. Waited long time wifes water never offered refill. My beer same. They removed dishes and asked us to pay while i was still eating. Here is your hat whats your hurry. In addition normally they ask to fill chips whrn gone but not today. Server no where when bowl was done. If the food wasnt reasonable cost and good. I would go back to another place i go in brunswick.

Barbecue restaurant
Riverfront Barbeque & Grille is a family-friendly restaurant in Maine that offers a diverse menu featuring Memphis-style dry-rub ribs and homemade chili. The place is known for its delicious slow-cooked barbecue at affordable prices. Visitors recommend trying the sausage and key lime pie, which has an unexpected twist. While some have found the wings and ribs slightly overcooked, many praise the unique flavor of the rub used on them.
Great lunch stop!! 5 stars on all fronts! Good portions, great service, tasty meat! We had pulled pork and shredded brisket- neither were fatty and both had an excellent flavor!
B N — Google review
My daughter, granddaughter, and I ate at Riverfront last night. We all thought our meals were excellent. Meat portions were a little bigger than those listed on the menu (we had pulled pork and pulled chicken), corn bread was outstanding, and the blue cheese dressing on my salad was the best blue cheese dressing I've tasted. An earlier review said portions were generous, and that was true for us. We all left with to-go boxes and full stomachs. After our meal, Patrick, the owner stopped by and we talked for a while. He's very friendly and dedicated to ensuring his customers get the best service and quality meals possible. Unfortunately we're not from the area so this could well be the only time we eat at Riverfront, but if you ever get the opportunity to east there, all three of us highly recommend it!

Had been wanting to try this place for a while so took an opportunity to stop in after a long day and wit two more hours of driving until we got home. Server was super prompt taking our order within 2 minutes. That’s where all the positive vibes ended. After 15 minutes we asked to be sure our pulled chicken would not be doused with sauce and were assured it would not be. We waited another 20 minutes and the server came to explain the kitchen was way backed up (would have been ice to know that from the beginning) but she may not have realized it would be nearly 50 minutes before our food was brought and of the course the chicken was sauced! No matter we weren’t sending it back for fear it would take another hour! So she offered to take the chicken off the bill for one of us which was fine. The whole meal was disappointing …the pulled chicken tasted more like stewed than barbecued…very dry and relatively tasteless with no hint of Smokey bbq. Cole slaw, rice, and cornbread all also mediocre and lacking flavor. This place was one and done for us!

We enjoyed a wonderful late lunch at Riverfront on a blustery, rainy Maine day. The BBQ is delicious the beer is cold. Even the music (blues) was awesome! Definitely worth a visit!

Passing through Augusta Maine on our way to Portland. We had a wonderful lunch of pulled pork, slaw and beans. The owner, didn’t get his name, was bartending and serving. He did an excellent job of making sure we had what we needed in addition to the two other tables and two men eating at the bar. The food was by far thee best sandwich, slaw and beans we’d ever had! We’d really like to go back one day and give the ribs a try. Excellent music, atmosphere, service and food. I’d highly recommend a visit to Riverfront Barbeque & Grill.

We had a wonderful birthday dinner! Rei- Thank you for your kind service and patience. Your smile and charming personality made our time at the Olive Garden flow very nicely. Rei always asked if there was anything she could get us every time she was at the table- and also was right back with it so quick! Even while dealing with other tables- she handled our 14 top like it was a 2 top and I truly appreciate your time. Thank you for coming into work tonight.

Had to make the trip here so I can bring back memories of when Olive Garden was in Canada . Great food here and portion sizes very good . Had to take food back to hotel as it was more than I could handle . I will be coming back when I'm down that way again.

I had the stuffed chicken Marsala. I believe the chicken was stuffed with percorino Romano and Parmesan but mine was a burnt patty not stuffed inside a chicken breast and tasted/looked like Thanksgiving stuffing and nothing like cheese. Our server was great.

The worst service I’ve ever had and I never even made it to the table. We arrived for my daughter’s birthday and were told “They just needed to clean off a few tables and needed about 15 minutes.” We were the last remaining party in the lobby over half an hour later. I asked how long and they said they had. “No idea, they couldn’t kick people out of their tables.” That is not the estimate we were given, we were told they were busy and that’s how it was. Yes, reservations are a thing. If I were told half an hour and they were full in reservations, I never would have waited that long. The entire staff was defensive, lied about the actual waiting time to get out of trouble and just didn’t care. I will never return and will never recommend this business to another person. You have lost many customers today.

Travel for work. Fortunately, an olive garden restaurant has been nearby. I enjoy tonic water with a few limes. I've typically have 2 or 3 with my meal. I've always been given refills without charge. Tonight, I was charged for each one...the total almost equal to the meal. Texas Roadhouse from now on.

we have both picked up and dined in here a couple of times. the food is decent for americanized italian chain food, staff typically friendly, and while i want to say it’s a bit overpriced, what isn’t overpriced in 2025? only minor complaint as i write in sept of 2025 is that the website indicates they do delivery. options for leaving at the door or delivering to person. fields for instructions for driver. but when you fill this website out and click pay and it tells you your card has been billed and food is on the way, neither was your card billed nor is food on the way, and calling the store to inquire, they just say they don’t deliver and seem indifferent to the misinformation on the website, unsympathetic to you having to scramble to find another dinner option 45 minutes after you were told you placed an order with them.

My friend and I stopped at Olive Garden during our drive from Maine to New York, eager to have a nice meal after being tired of fast food options. Given Olive Garden’s reputation and numerous locations, we expected a better experience, but unfortunately, it didn’t meet our expectations. Upon arrival, we were seated at a table directly beneath an air conditioning vent on a chilly evening. It made the atmosphere uncomfortable, and despite requesting a change, we were moved to a similar spot, which was disappointing, especially since the restaurant was nearly empty around 10 PM. Due to our hunger, we skipped appetizers and went straight to the main course. I ordered the Grilled Chicken margarita, and my friend had the Seafood Alfredo. Unfortunately, the Margherita dish was overly heavy on cheese, which completely overpowered the flavor of the grilled chicken. Had I known beforehand, I would have asked for less cheese. The broccoli was the only redeeming part of the dish. The Alfredo was somewhat better, and I found a couple of bites enjoyable from my friend’s plate, but overall, the food was a letdown. Overall, it was not a pleasant visit, and I felt disappointed. I doubt I’ll return to this location. This visit didn’t live up to the expectations we had from such a well-known chain.
