Italian restaurant
Nestled in the charming town of Jonesborough, The Black Olive is a delightful haven for lovers of homemade Italian cuisine. This eatery prides itself on crafting delicious and affordable dishes using organic ingredients sourced locally whenever possible. Their enticing menu features unique offerings like Italian Nachos made with crispy fried pasta chips, a refreshing Greek Salad loaded with feta and olives, and the savory Downtown Chicken paired with artichokes and goat cheese.
The dining experience was exceptional, exhibiting a high level of service and culinary expertise. The food was remarkable, and each course was executed flawlessly. We commenced with a selection of appetizers, featuring garlic knots and a sampler platter that provided a well-rounded introduction to the meal. The timing was impeccable, allowing us to enjoy the appetizers before our main courses were presented. I chose the grilled chicken, which was perfectly prepared, complemented by steamed broccoli and a crisp side salad—each element well-balanced in flavor and texture. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the cheese tortellini, which he found particularly satisfying. Our granddaughter, when asked for her feedback, enthusiastically rated our evening with an “A,” reflecting her enjoyment. Overall, our visit to the Black Olive was outstanding— a venue that deserves recommendation and likely merits a slight detour for any food enthusiast. Our server, Emma, demonstrated commendable patience and friendliness, especially in accommodating our lively 6-year-old granddaughter. The entire experience was memorable, and we eagerly anticipate our return.

Lasagna was very good nice big portion it was $17 The house salad is lame just regular iceberg lettuce lots of white pieces tossed in a bowl The bread wasn't great that comes with Lasagna so I just dipped in the sauce to add flavor. Experience was regular. The server was nice. Kids karaoke was lots of Disney songs mostly if you do go on a Tuesday this month I went another day but decided to add to my review and ordered chicken Alfredo to go but sadly the chicken is cut in thin slices into random pieces in pasta with not much chicken to be worth 14$ so I don't recommend that I now get the the black olive special: Meat Lasagna, chicken parmesian, and substitute the spaghetti for alfredo but I think it's 1$ extra charge not sure if they charged me last time an extra dollar 🤔 Definitely filling get their rewards Definitely worth it if you plan to go many times

What a mistake it was to wait 4 years after moving to the area to try this place! We enjoyed it all! Of course we had to get garlic knots because they are highly reviewed and they did not disappoint. I ordered a deluxe calzone with no changes and it was really good. My husband got the black Olive special which gave small portions of spaghetti, chicken Parmesan and lasagna. They marinara was so good on it all. We sat in the bar which was great and atmosphere was really nice. The main dining area was packed w graduation people and the restaystill kept up with all those orders in a timely manner. We both took home enough for another meal or two. I get the hype now and we will definitely be back!
Dianna B — Google review
Traveling through Tennessee, we decided to try this restaurant and so glad we did! The food was amazing, even with my wife needing gluten free needs. Her meal was a chicken parm with no breading and zucchini noodles. Absolutely fantastic tasting. I had a steak canzone. Probably the best one I ever had. We will be coming back. It will make for a nice ride on our motorcycle and we plan on bringing friends. Our server was very sweet and gave us excellent service.
Joe O — Google review
He eats very well. The service is good and the food is healthy. It has options for dietary restrictions such as gluten free or lactose free. The leftover food can be taken away.
Juani O — Google review
It was mother's day so the place was crowded. However something happened with our order so that people who came in after us got their food before. I think our server forgot to turn in our ticket, which would have been fine had he been honest about it. It took an hour to get our food. Otherwise , Great as always.
Fuhk Y — Google review
Arrived right at noon. They were busy, but I was seated quickly. I left at 12:45, quite satisfied.

We were looking for a pizza place and found this place on line. Well, this is very nice Italian restaurant that also has pizza. I got an awesome Philly "Mexican " cheese steak and my wife had Angel Hair Pasta. Great find. Everything was good.

The Historic Jonesborough Visitors Center serves as the perfect introduction to the oldest town in Tennessee, offering a well-curated museum that delves into the area's rich history and cultural heritage. This charming and picturesque town is filled with quaint streets, fun shops featuring handmade items by local artisans, and a train depot museum. Visitors can enjoy a leisurely day of shopping, explore the 3-mile walkway through town, and immerse themselves in the historical ambiance.
Get a map and all the local info here before you make your downtown visit. Plan to spend a few minutes exploring the small informative museum. The one room museum is free to visit. Nice gift shop on-site. Need a restroom break....lots of free parking and clean bathrooms.

Steeped in history set against the beautiful backdrop of the mountains is Jonesboro, the visitor center is very welcoming and has a beautiful little museum lots of shops selling local products from jewelry to local Produce and meats . A must see , step back in time and enjoy the beautiful architecture and history lessons.

We were in town for the International Storytelling Festival and visited the visitor's center several times. The employees were pleasant and helpful. There was a nice variety of quality merchandise. The restrooms were always clean in spite of the high volume of use.

Beautiful little gem, nestled between the mountains of East Tennessee. This town is very historic, it's the oldest town in Tennessee! It's very picturesque and full of charm. Perfect for a day trip, or even to spend the night there and explore the area. Jonesborough is full of little shops, restaurants, small hotels, stores, and more. You can walk around downtown, explore, and find something for the whole family. My family and I liked it a lot and really enjoyed our day trip.
Alfonso J — Google review
Quality of service depends on who you get to talk to. The gal who answered the phone on Monday morning August 25 was incredibly rude and did not embody anything that would make me want to visit. She hung up on me mid sentence as I was trying to thank her for helping me even though her tone made me feel like I was bothering her. She is NOT representative of what this town is known for - warm hospitality. She should probably consider a different career path that does not include interacting with customers.

Get a real taste of mountain history and heritage in the storytelling capital of the country. Lots of charming gifts and historical books to learn from and be inspired by. Visit during the international storytelling festival in October and be enchanted by this first town in Tennessee and the gorgeous colors of fall. They really decorate it beautifully, so enchanting and you can walk from place to place hearing some of the best storytellers in the world!

Jonesboro has kept its place as a top attraction for those wanting a laid back, hospitable visit with an emphasis on history. Staff is knowledgeable and gives as much time as you need. Annual storytelling festival is a flawless experience despite the numbers

This is such a charming and historic little town to visit. There are fun little shops down both sides of Main St to spend a relaxing day of shopping, many full of handmade items crafted by local artisans, a train depot museum you come across while walking along a beautiful, paved 3-mile walkway through the town, and so much more. They also have several places for lodging available, along with great places to grab a bite to eat after enjoying a day on the town, such as Texas Burrito and Main Street Cafe.

Nestled in the charming town of Jonesborough, Main Street Cafe & Catering is a delightful eatery housed in a historic 1930s post office building. With its stunning pressed-tin ceiling, elegant globe lamps, and warm oak hardwood floors, the cafe offers both indoor and outdoor seating that perfectly captures the area's quaint ambiance. Since its establishment in 1982 by a dedicated husband-and-wife duo, it has evolved into a beloved local spot now run by their son and daughter-in-law.
This is my go to place to eat while in Jonesborough. It is conveniently located in town. They have a good selection, including beer and wine. I've always had a good meal for lunch. It can get crowded so going early is a good idea.

We love coming here whenever we are in Jonesborough! Great food great prices great atmosphere our favorite is outside ! Only downside is it gets rather crowded at times but that just proves it's a great restaurant
Lisa L — Google review
I remember when this restaurant was right on the corner (now Corner Cup) coming into town. They had a sandwich called The Corner Pocket, one of my favorites. The space was very small. Soup filled crockpots were lined up along the tiny counter with little space left to assemble salads/sandwiches. Jennifer & her hubby were manning EVERYTHING while a long line of customers lined up out the door. Fast forward 40+ years and it's pretty much the same. People are still lined up but the space is much bigger, with a cooler vibe...there's outdoor seating, too. The soups, salads & sandwiches are just like they were years ago...great! On this visit, I had the Turkey Bacon Jack Sandwich with basil mayo on sourdough & my friend had the Southern Chicken Sandwich on a perfectly toasted bun. That small detail makes a world of difference. Their consistently delicious & fresh food is exactly why they've been around for so long. The staff is always friendly as well. The biggest plus? They're only a few minutes away from my house! lol

Wonderful place to eat! It is very eclectic and cozy. The food was outstanding and be sure to save room for the Gelato! I had a Reuben sandwich and fries and it was fantastic! My friend had a huge double cheeseburger and he said it was cooked to perfection! The staff is super, super friendly and they are all very quick to check on you too make sure you have everything you need.

Food is meant to be an experience and that's exactly what you get here. I've been back 3 times in a week and everything has been phenomenal. Burgers are outstanding, the sandwiches have been out of this world, and the salads are a masterpiece (with dressings that perfectly complement!). The staff are friendly and offer suggestions and have been a joy to be around. I'll be back for a whole pie soon!!
James B — Google review
The chicken salad sandwich was excellent! We also had the tomato bisque and the hot dog which were both great as well. Very friendly staff and hospitality that is hard to find!
Olivia R — Google review
Love this place! It's definitely a really special spot on Main Street. The father and sons who run this store are so friendly. They've built such an amazing cafe, with incredible food! The desserts are so rich, and for the affordable prices you'll feel like you've just eaten at an upscale restaurant - only with a cozy feel. Honestly, I prefer this place over all of the nice ones around town.

My first time at this theater and it was a blast. We did a sing a long to Grease! My friend and I showed up in style. The pricing for concessions is not bad at all either. Staff is so friendly!

Every play I have seen here has been amazing!! Such talented actors! It is a small theater, but the shows are always so impressive! They offer popcorn, water, and candy and everything is always very clean and well-kept. I cant wait for the next show!
Jessica C — Google review
My first time attending, it was awesome. The musical was called Crazy For You, and the cast was awesome, so talented. The place was quaint, no bad seats, no matter where you sat you had a good view. Everyone was so nice. In the end you can take pictures with the cast members. I already got my tickets for the November show.
Madeline M — Google review
Not that great at all the website we got the tickets from advertised we could get a refund but couldn't after we purchased the tickets on the wrong day so we repurchased the tickets and after sitting through half the show and being so uncomfortable due to the theater literally putting so many seats inside you can't even move they could have comfortably removed an entire row or two of seats and then advertised no entry after 730 when the show starts people were coming in until 745 and we managed to squeeze out of our seats to buy some snacks and low and behold they don't accept cards as payment....but you will for your tickets?? It's ridiculous don't waste your time or money here people. They could have done much better.

Is a great place to see a show the sound was good staffs. It was courteous and kind and the seat's very comfortable and everyone was respectful to the performer.

I LOVE this little gem! I've seen two plays there now, and they do such a great job! The actors are always enjoyable and know their stuff. Makes my heart happy to see local people doing what brings them joy 😊 Thank you for such a treat each time!

Live theater is truth in performance. No re-takes, no edits. It's right there on stage for all to see. And the troop at the Jonesborough Repertory Theater not only owned that stage, they brought the house down! The 1940s USA Radio Show is an exceptionally well-done homage to the WWII era honoring both Veterans and those who lost their lives defending freedom. The costumes and period inspired sets lent a 1940s vibe to the entire performance. The "live" radio commercials are especially entertaining with those big microphones and flawless execution in comedic timing! Even with challenging wardrobe changes, the actors and vocalists seamlessly segued their musical numbers, ending in a rousing recognition of military veterans in the audience! We look forward to locking in seats for their next season of shows! Update: we've continued to attend these JRT performances and from complex musicals to 'laugh until your sides hurt' comedies, every production is Broadway level talent!

The International Storytelling Center is a vibrant hub for the performing arts, featuring captivating storytelling exhibits and a retail shop. It has established partnerships with various local organizations and affiliates in the tourism sector, including the Tennessee Department of Tourist Development and Jonesborough Area Merchants & Services Association. The center is renowned for its annual National Storytelling Festival, which attracts numerous visitors every October. Visitors can also explore the historic Chester Inn, where three Presidents, including Andrew Jackson, once stayed.
This annual festival is an absolute treasure. Here are the things I loved, and the things I didn't. Things I liked: - It is attended by some of America's best storytellers - Ticket cost seems steep for an outdoor festival but, looking back, it was actually a bargain. If you can attend for two days, the all-access pass is well worth it. In fact, looking back, I think it was a great bargain, even though I had to drive more than 10 hours each way to get there! - The staff who mount the annual festival that has been ongoing for more than five decades, do a phenomenal job of coordinating an efficient and friendly atmosphere - The many performers, who share their entertaining craft art, unfailingly, accessible, and willing to spend a moment with their fans. - The town of Jonesboro, Tennessee is delightful, but more on that in a separate post. What I didn't like, not much really: - The festival's website doesn't cater much to newcomers so it can be difficult to understand how to plan your trip and the shows you may want to see. The staff can be very helpful, but are also busy.

Nice, relatively small facility, but well done. Includes a small auditorium, a gift shop, and an upstairs event room and it is adjacent to a nice refreshing garden. These folks lead/sponsor the annual Story Telling Festival on October. on this June afternoon, we attended a Saturday matinee which was delightful. This visit was part of their series that runs several months, beginning in May. The weekday sessions can be as much as $14, but the Saturday matinees are $7. Recommended.

We had our wedding at the International Storytelling Center on August 20th, 2022! I grew up going to this venue for their storytelling events, and it was so special that I was able to get married at a spot that means so much to my family and hometown. The venue itself is GORGEOUS and so much prettier than my memory serves. You can rent any combination of their space -- the park, the library, the parlor, and the courtyard. We rented the park for our ceremony, the parlor for food, and the courtyard for our reception and it was PERFECT! The parlor has huge windows so there was plenty of natural light and it has a balcony overlooking Main Street! The courtyard is spacious and just shaded enough to be great for an outdoor August reception! The park is so, so beautiful and has so many different areas that you could hold your ceremony in! Additionally, even though we didn't rent it, they told my bridesmaids and I that we could get ready in the library, since you are only charged for where you set up, and they recommended the Chester Inn right beside the venue for the groomsmen to get ready in! They also have a kitchen that is well-stocked with food prep items, which was helpful for our food service that day! Lesley, the Facility Director, was our point person throughout the whole planning process. She was so helpful, cheery, and willing to answer every question we could think of. We live in Nashville, so the first few venue "visits" had to be conducted through video chat, and Lesley was so accommodating of that! If you are looking at the Storytelling Center as a venue, be sure to talk to Lesley! I cannot compliment or recommend this venue enough! Everything was absolutely perfect from start to finish and my husband and I are tempted to marry each other over and over just so we could rent this venue again and again! I've attached photos of the day, and our photographer was Abigail Wheeler! She is another person that we can't recommend enough for any photo needs!

Amigo Mexican Restaurant is a Mexican eatery in Jonesborough, known for its bar and menu featuring enchiladas, chimichangas, burritos, and margaritas. This family-owned dining establishment stands out as one of the best restaurants in the area, offering delicious Mexican dishes in a culturally rich space. Great Mexican restaurant in Jonesborough! Nice, warm ambiance upon entering. Dark woods and lots of wood booths. We had been greeted and had our drinks and chips and salsa on the table before we even had our coats off!👍 Super service, fast friendly and efficient. Good variety of menu options. Very flavorful. Burrito Bueno-whole wheat tortilla ( steak) Lunch #6-tostada and enchilada+ beans and rice Didnt actually realize the tostada was on the plate when it came to the table. It was covered with lettuce and toppings, which I initially mistook for a salad. Was a bit soggy as well. Would certainly return and try different items. Thanks!

We've been here so often Juanita considers special guests. It could also be that she loves my granddaughter Gracie. We've had at least half of the entire menu; still haven't had a bad meal. That's why we continue to come back. Especially when Gracie is wheelchair bown.

The food was very bland. The burrito grande was mainly all onions. The quesadilla was extremely dry and flavorless. Service took a while even though they weren’t that busy. It wasn’t terrible but likely won’t be back.
Ellie V — Google review
Great place to eat if you want to quickly get in and out “dine in.” The service was great, couldn’t ask for such a timely serviced dinner. I got the Traditional steak taco platter along with some chips and queso and the banana dessert. The tacos were really good, the only thing I’d complain about is that they didn’t double wrap the tacos even though the bottom was falling out. The queso on the other hand was super liquidy. The queso wouldn’t even stay on the chip. The banana dessert was great, no complaints there. Service was great as well, very attentive and sweet. 4.5/5

The chips were hot and crispy and all food was fresh and hot. Servings were ample. Our waiter was attentive and provided refills without being asked. There was a section of the menu for children/ seniors...appreciate that!

Very pleased with our first trip to Amigo’s in Jonesborough. We went for lunch after church on Sunday. There were plenty of people inside but we still got seated right away. Everything came out promptly and hot. My husband had the Texas fajitas and I had the Carnitas traditional tacos. The food was delicious, fresh, and plentiful. Service was outstanding, our drinks never reached the bottom. Prices were fair, plenty of parking, clean and comfortable atmosphere. We will definitely go again.

Jonesborough Barrel House is a charming small-town spot with a rustic vibe, offering seating for around 50-53 people inside and additional outdoor seating. The owner, Ben, is known for his expertise in food and hospitality. The menu features generous portions of dishes like pork plates with sweet potatoes and potato salad, cowboy beans, and a recommended brownie dessert with various ice cream flavors. While the fried bologna sandwich was found to be too thick for some tastes, the BBQ options are highly praised.
I cannot say enough good things about this Wonderful place. We did the smoked brisket meal. It was the BEST I have ever had! Dessert Bourbon Bacon Pecan Pie! Fabulous!
Pastor B — Google review
We probably should have chosen BBQ, which smelled really good, or something different from what we ordered. The fried bologna sandwich with egg was too thick for our tastes. It would have been much better half the size and fried a little crispy. The sides we choose were: cornbread, pinto beans, fried okra, sweet potato casserole, and mac & cheese. All the sides were good except the mac & cheese. It tasted very salty the day we visited. The atmosphere and outside seating area was awesome. Staff was great. The Stevie Nicks cocktail was also very good. We will definitely be back to give them another try.

It's a cool small place with the rustic small town vibe. Seating inside for around 50-53 people with more available outside when weather permits. Ben who owns it really has a handle on food and public relations! Thank you for such great hospitality... it really made our day. Food- We had pork plates with sweet potatoes and potatoe salad... Definitely the cowboy beans. It is an enormous portion so be hungry when ordering here!!! The brownie desert adding any flavor of ice cream is highly recommended. Prices- The price for us, with 2 pork plates, 2 drinks (tea) and a desert wasn't too bad... all under $50 total. We definitely want to come back when the weather breaks and check out the outdoor venue. Live music and the summer days of these East Tennessee mountains.. add good food and friends it's a YES!

AMAZING food and great atmosphere! My husband and I love this place. We come here often. The inside has so much nostalgic memoirs while the outside is very nice and relaxing. Come for the live music too for a great time (but call in reservations first)!

We celebrated our friend Cody's mother's birthday with yummy BBQ, fries, coleslaw, and the BEST potato salad. The pulled pork was melt in your mouth delicious and the brisket was yum. The apples and beans were perfect sides as well. We will be back!

If you're on the hunt for a quick and satisfying meal, look no further than Subway! This casual counter-serve chain specializes in build-your-own sandwiches and salads, catering to those who prioritize health-conscious options. During my recent visit, I was thrilled with the generous fillings that made each sub truly delightful. The experience was enhanced by a friendly staff member who crafted one of the best subs I've ever had at Subway—his politeness and hard work were commendable!
Our subs were awesome at this store gas station/convenience store/Subway. They did not hold back on the fillings, the sandwiches were perfect. They earned the tip they got! We used a coupon to get the 3 subs for $17.00. This gave us lunch and supper later. I use a walker and had no problem getting around.

Got 2 foot longs, and don’t get me wrong the food is great. I’m not happy about when I open my sandwich, the inside of it is completely stuck to the paper and all of the cheese came out of the sandwich. Plus it was very messy. I understand how it is in customer service, and I haven’t had prior bad experiences here. Didn’t catch the guys name who made the sandwiches but i was pretty upset. Apart from that the food taste good!

This has been a pretty good Subway. Over the last 6 months it seems they are having trouble getting good workers. Yesterday we ordered 2 subs through the app. We arrived for pick-up 20 minutes later. The 2 guys were "chatting" and hadn't even started making our sandwiches. Actually there were 3 tickets on the counter that they hadn't even started yet. Gonna try the next one down the street next time.

This review is directly for the owner of this franchise location. Spend more money on staff and ensuring you're OPEN DURING YOUR POSTED HOURS. You have great people but I can tell you don't give a crap about them. It is 1022 pm and your shop is closed.

I requested extra onion, and banana peppers. There were hardly any of each. My sandwich feels way lighter then normal. I always order the same thing, so it's not like I don't know what to expect. I'm not very particular either. ....upset looks gross ..

Great experience with subway tonight!! This guy working made the best sub I’ve ever had at subway! Hardworking guy and he was very polite too!

Horrible horrible horrible! I hate subway. I've been boycotting them since 2020 because of their anti-American values. Had to get a sub for a family member and got there a little after five on a Friday. Only had one person working and were working on online orders while people in the store couldn't even place their order Finally, another person came in at 5:30. I was able to finally place my order at 5:49. This place is horrible. Never ever ever will I buy anything from subway!

Ordered two sandwiches, a 6" teriyaki chicken and an footlong Italian. Got this mangled mess. This isn't the first time here either, but it's my last.

Tex-Mex restaurant
Burrito restaurant
Nestled in Tennessee's oldest town, Texas Burritos & More offers a delightful taste of Tejano cuisine and Tex-Mex favorites that will tantalize your palate. This charming eatery has been serving up family recipes for over 50 years, thanks to the dedicated efforts of a Texan mother-daughter duo who have owned it since 2018.
Great lunch menu now for only $6. Several choices. Food is excellent, as is the service. Support local restaurants so they may continue to serve us. Also love their complimentary chips and salsa--both excellent in my opinion. I like less salt, warm, and thin. Salsa is always homemade and yummy.

This is a hidden gem with a choice of authentic Mexican or American Southwestern Food . I enjoy eating at little known restaurants that I like to call gems . And this place is definitely one of those! Delicious food and quiet atmosphere. Super friendly waitress also very informative about the menu. Check out the photos and go try it! I thought the entire experience was great.

One of our favorite places for lunch or dinner in Jonesborough. Lovely waitstaff and great Tex-Mex Food. Absolutely favorite dishes are the shrimp tacos and the Sour Cream Chicken Enchiladas! Full bar is a plus!

This is a delightful surprise tucked away behind Main St. in scenic, historic Jonesborough, TN. They have some of the best salsa and chips, along with an option for a dip trio as an appetizer, which I highly recommend. The service was wonderful, and our generous portions of food came out quickly. Would definitely come here again.

Omg! I built my own burrito and I'll say it again! OMG! The flavor of the steak comes through the filling of rice, beans, cheese, onion, and lettuce. It's like a flavor party. So damn good! It's probably one of the best IF not the best steak burritos that I've ever had! The service is great as well! Very attentive and knowledgeable! I found another great place to bring family and friends when they visit! 😋 #supportlocalbusiness #eatlocal

Our first time visiting. Our waitress was awesome, she was very friendly, she took care of us well. The place was cute and the atmosphere was nice. The chips and salsa were good, and the ground beef with queso was good. I had the enchiladas, and they were ok good. My husband had some kind of chili bowl that tasted like if it was seasoned with one of those el paso seasoning from a taco box. That was a little disappointing.

We sat at the bar, we had a great time. I ordered the veggie tacos, my son ordered the shrimp burrito. I had a whiskey sour which was delicious. It was very clean and great service ☺️🙏🏻

Located in a cute little town with tons of character. The drinks were fantastic and a great price at only $3. Service was very friendly. Chips and salsa very tasty. Food was disappointing. Enchiladas were greasy and lukewarm. Steak tacos - just don’t order those. Tortillas were not edible. Steak was very low quality. Will Keep this in our back pocket for just drinks and chips.

Day 2

Northwest side of town
For day 2, we recommend exploring the northwest side side of town. Start the day off with Wetlands Water Park, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Stage Road Park. All together, your day would be filled with about 7 hours of non-stop fun.

Water & Amusement Parks
Park
Wetlands Water Park is a perfect destination for a summer getaway, offering an all-day swimming experience to beat the heat. The park features exciting flume slides, a lazy river, and a zero-depth tot wade pool suitable for kids and those young at heart. Visitors can also enjoy refreshments at the on-site snack bar. Additionally, nearby attractions include the Repertory Theatre for contemporary entertainment and free concerts every Friday night from May through September.
Took my three small children on a weekend. Parking lot was busy and into overflow but free and just a short walk to the park. Line was roughly 10-20 minutes and in the shade. $45 for one adult and three kids (all under 6). We had floaties but they were prohibited on some of the slides. There were plenty of free seats in the sun and a few in the shade. There were also cabanas to rent, but we skipped that as they were generally full. We didn't use the snack shack, but some of the food certainly looked good. Overall a great experience with three tired kids👍

Ok so how do I start. First off its the only water park around me. Besides the kingsport aquatic center. They are priced around the same. This place would not be my first pick for anyone. The water was dirty. The water slides barely worked. There was so many bees around maybe because the trash cans were overflowing the whole time. The lazy river was like nothing they didn't even have enough rafts. The bathrooms were trashed. Like noone cleans them.
Tracey ( — Google review
The kids had a lot of fun. There is a good number of lifeguards. It's not the best water park ever, but for a city owned facility it wasn't bad at all. The concessions were kind of expensive, but no more than I expected.

We've been here before and loved it so we went to the glow party for the kick off of the fourth of July Jonesborough days and we had a blast ! Music and swimming was the perfect vibe ! My only complaint is next year y'all should hand out the glow sticks not leave them out for people to take as people were taking a ridiculous amount and I seen so many kids without them because of this ! I gave up ours to some kids that didn't have any ! I seen adults taking ridiculous amounts of them for themselves and they should be ashamed! Also start it later as it ended before it was even dark !
Lisa L — Google review
This place was nice. The kids had a great time. Kudos to the lifeguards! Food was a little pricey so maybe eat before or after your visit. They could use more table areas.

Let me just start by saying, if you are hesitant, give them a chance! I am visiting with my family from Florida and we tried contacting them for 4 days straight, multiple times a day and no answered.. I tried on facebook, their website, and calling and no one responded. Finally the 4th day I finally got a response and they told me to provide my number and someone would call me to answer everything I needed. Nick (i believe was his name) gave me a call not even 2 minutes later and answered everything and was beyond apologetic for not answering and also made sure I was happy with everything I needed answered. I read there was a bee problem and the bathrooms were DISGUSTING so I was VERYYYY hesitant on even going but he reassured me and there wasn't a problem anymore with either of those. After my phone call, 2 minutes later, he followed up and said he had a deal for my family. He ended up gifting us a free visit for all 3-4 of us to go visit today (Sunday, August 31,2025) and it was beyond nice of him to do that for us. The visit was everything we expected and more. I saw 1 bee (your in the woods) and the bathrooms were very clean and picked up. We spent about 3 hours or so there and it was very enjoyable. I definitely will be going back when we visit again! Thank you nick again!

What a great water park! We had two families in our party and we all had an absolute BLAST! The water slides were a clear favorite among the kids and the lazy river was the favorite of the adults. One of the most impressive things about this water park though are the clearly trained lifeguards. One kid in our party accidentally drifted into too deep of water and started panicking, but the lifeguard was IMMEDIATELY right there in the water with her and pulled her to safety. I honestly could not be more impressed! The lifeguards are all VERY attentive and always walking around looking at the water proactively (not like some other places where lifeguards get on their phones or simply chit chat with one another without truly paying attention to what's happening in the water). The management and training here is clearly top notch! The food prices at the cafe are surprisingly reasonable and the food we got was delicious! We all thought the pizza was fantastic. One member of our party is gluten-free and said the GF brownie was, and I quote, "The best gluten-free brownie I've ever tasted." A note regarding other negative reviews... We did not see that many bees. Yes, there were some by the flowering trees, but you're outdoors in nature and there's water. I'm not sure if other people aren't used to being outside or what. The bee count was very normal for a summer day. Also, the water was clean! Again, I'm not sure what some people expect with dozens of people at an outdoor water park. The water was clear (not cloudy at all!) and the only items I saw in the water were a wood chip (which must've gotten stuck to some little kid's foot) and a juice box straw wrapper (which again is very normal considering we are outdoors with people eating). Also, I only saw those things in the water ONCE...the filter or a person working there must've gotten them out of the water because we were there for hours and I didn't see them again. If you're thinking about going here, do it! It's a great place for some summer fun for the whole family.

Park is fun and well maintained. A good size for some who doesn't want to walk forever. Can easily find my kiddos when it's not too busy. The bathrooms could use a little love.

City park
Persimmon Ridge Park, located just a mile from downtown Jonesborough, offers a green space for camping and outdoor activities. The park features established hiking trails, a basketball court, and an 18-hole disc golf course. Families can gather around the bonfire for quality time while enjoying hot chocolate. The park is dog-friendly with well-maintained trails where visitors may spot wildlife like deer.
Beautiful trails with a few well maintained bridges crossing over the little brook of water streaming through the park. On occasion, you can catch sight of deer and other wildlife! And just this week, the spring colors started popping through, although even the winter-barren trees hold their own haunting beauty! Dog friendly for friendly dogs on leash, of course. And a nice 12% grade walkway option out of the park that skirts the water park! A favorite for locals of all ages!

We really enjoyed our hike (Walter), and the setting was beautiful. There were no distances or elevations on the trail map, which would have been helpful. We could hear the music from Wetlands sometimes—just something to consider if you’re visiting in the summer.

There are four trails here, John's, Ranger, Walter's, and Luke's, totaling around 3.5 miles. You can also just walk the lane leading to the trails or the path around the parking lot and the water park. Lots of people walk their dogs here. It feels very safe and is close to home. Bathrooms available.

Persimmon Ridge is one of my go to places for a quick hilly trail run. The hilly trails take you a round the ball fields and water park making for a 3.3 mile excursion with over 700’ of elevation gain. The ridge views are great and a side trail up around the water tower and the water crossing keeps it interesting!

Boone Street Market

Grocery store
Boone Street Market is a local gem in Jonesborough, TN that offers a unique selection of goods sourced from farmers and vendors within a 100-mile radius. From fresh produce to baked goods, coffee, candies, and more, the market celebrates small-scale local agriculture. Visitors can also explore Texas Burritos and More for authentic Texas-style dishes or stop by Tennessee Hills Distillery and Depot Street Brewing for a complete evening experience.
A one of a kind jewel amongst a sea of mass production. THIS is how a community should bring goodness to your plate. Being the first of its kind, the selection is impressive and must have taken considerable support and communication for small local agriculture. Great job to the Boone Street Market for honoring agriculture heritage and cultivating community 👏

Nice, eclectic group of crafts by various creatives, presented in a nicely done environment, with a pleasant and helpful front desk/cashier. Mostly textiles but there is a nice mixture of mixed media and other media items including purple heart wood incorporated into cutting boards. Nice place. Recommended.

The man behind the counter who spoke with the foreign accent made me feel as though it were socialist country and treated me quite abruptly. No warmth or courtesy like you would expect here in the south. I love Tennessee I wish he were more Tennessee. Tennessee people are so genteel in nature.I love the idea about supporting our local farmers. I love that so much. This place left me feeling as though I was supporting a whole other country with the music and the people that were servicing the place. Not even American. I wish they would play country music to give that local flavor. I'll go to Ingles next time.

I live in Kingsport and have a friend that grew up in Jonesboro. I’ve never been to the cute little town before this 2024 “May the 4th be with you” festival. With it being my first time experiencing this, I was new to the whole thing. While I enjoyed my time in Jonesboro, I DID NOT appreciate or enjoy the way I was treated at Boone Street market that day. Long story short (I’ll try and make it short at least) I found they had some freeze dried candies- my son has braces and had been begging me to get him some. Since he was out of town I had to choose the type he’d want on my own- not an easy choice lol. Anyway- I picked up the skittles and heavily contemplated the pink “nerds type” gummy puffs with sprinkles on them. I picked both bags up and went looking for the friend I came with- she was up front sampling the same pink type candy I was contemplating buying that was in my hands. I was like- COOL! I can try them and then decide if I want to invest like $10 or $12 into these things. When I went to look at the tray of “samples” I was RUDELY interrupted by the man “managing” the table. He quickly told me you had to have an “event ticket” for them. I immediately was embarrassed and put the candy back on the shelf. My friend was shocked at his response to me because she said she asked the man for one and he said “sure” (she didn’t have an event ticket) and let her have it. She had zero intentions of buying anything that day- and was simply waiting by the door for me to finish getting what I wanted. And you sit there and raise your voice at me abruptly- a paying customer!? I wasn’t even touching them- I just looked and got fussed at. I still purchased the skittle freeze dried but later regretted it because I felt I shouldn’t have supported the business at all after being treated like that. I will certainly be back to Jonesboro, but NOT to Boone Street Market. It’s unfortunate my son will never get to experience the freeze dried candy selection here. Y’all need to do better at treating customers fair and with a better attitude. Just know you lost a good portion of the sale that day & every future purchase I could have made with my family. First time and last time I’ll ever be in this store. Thank you to the rest of Jonesboro for your kindness! Tennesse Hills had a wonderful group of people working there!

Burger King is a popular fast-food chain that delights customers with its signature grilled burgers, crispy fries, and creamy shakes. On my recent visit, I shared a $7 Trio featuring two Whopper Jrs and medium fries—everything was served hot and fresh! The staff were friendly and efficient, making the experience enjoyable. I also indulged in their 2-for-1 croissants filled with egg and cheese as well as sausage; they were simply excellent!
First time here. Shared a $7 Trio. 2 whopper Jrs and medium fries. All was nice and hot and perfectly prepared. Folks behind the counter were courteous and efficient. No complaints for this fast food place on the way to somewhere else. Ok..came for a 2 for 1 croissants 🥐. One with ha egg cheese and the other with sausage rather than the ham. Excellent! And freshly brewed iced tea for $1.00. A deal!

This happened on August 20, 2025, at 7:15 p.m. I sat in the drive thru for a second (by second, I mean I was the only person there, and it was a couple of minutes.) No greeting, nothing. So I thought maybe the screen or headset was broken. Drove around to the second window since the first was vacant. There were three workers — a short, older woman and two younger men. All three of them made eye contact with me like I was the biggest inconvenience on the face of this rock. They never approached the window (and I was smiling, too). I used to work fast food; I get it sometimes, but this? No. Just no Customer service? Negative stars if I could. Food? Have no clue; I couldn’t even order any. Thankfully, there’s a new Wendy’s nearby, and that’s where I went. They took my order. Allowed me to pay for my food. You know, the basic transactions of running a food business. I’ve been everywhere, and this was the worst I’ve ever experienced. BK have it your way? This location’s should be, “BK, have it no way because we don’t want to take your order or your money.”

I literally ordered through the app for the 2 piece mini chicken wraps, chessy tots & the cotton candy freeze! To be honest the only thing that was good was the cheesy tots & there were 4 of them in the bag literally. I found a mini chicken bone in my mini tender! It was the first in a very long time and the absolute last time I'll visit South Roan Street. I literally sat in the drive thru line and ordered through the app that how long I was sitting there. Then it took the staff 10 mins for the order to come through on their screen when I sat there long enough to order and pay for my food waiting for the order to come up on their screen inside. I had already paid for it with my card or I would've told them to forget it and cancelled the order. I finally get the order to where they can see it the food was good until I found the chicken bone in the last few bites of the first mini tender. The cotton candy freeze was nasty and I'll never go back first they never can to the 2nd window to give me my receipt after I had sat there another 10 mins waiting on someone then as I pull off to the 1st window since I'm assuming they have my receipt and food they tried to give me someone else's order.. Then the young man giving me my good literally handed me one thing at a time when I kept telling him what else was left to my order! This whole store needs new workers or new trainers and management! Y'all lost a valued and loyal customer who are there almost everytime I was on that side of town🤬🤯😤🙄

I’ve had multiple bad experiences with this place the past 7 years I’ve lived in Jonesborough. I usually don’t go out of my way to make a Google review, but this establishment is absolutely uncaring and disrespectful. From rock hard French toast sticks they gave us (mind you, for my 1 year old without teeth.) and my husband went back in and showed them their mistake by banging the sticks on the counter, sounding like rock on rock to show them just what they were serving us. I’ve had MULTIPLE occurrences with raw nuggets that are chewy to the point of discomfort. Today, was the last straw. I had ordered for a friend and they got plastic (1in by 1in, could’ve choked anyone, and it wasn’t the stretchy plastic either.) in their food. Upon calling the establishment, they were extremely pissy and rude. I’m done. This place is not worth ANYONES money. Bunch of teenagers running the place and it shows. I would not be surprised if this place got shut down due to its low quality standards. Photo cropped for privacy.

I went through the drive thru at around 2PM on 3/15. The woman who took my order and payment at the first window was nice. However, at the second window, the young blonde woman was rude at best. She did not greet me (I understand this is fast food, but at the bare minimum, surely you say hello). She asked me if I had a drink... because she didn't know(?). Then when she gave me my bag of food, she immediately walked away to go talk to her coworkers. My order was missing dipping sauces, and it took a good while to get anyone to respond to me trying to get their attention through the *open* window. When she returned to the window, and I told her I was missing my sauces, she just turned around, grabbed the sauces, and didn't say a word... no sorry, acknowledgment, or anything. They also didn't put any napkins in my bag but at that point I didn't dare ask for any additional assistance, and when I got home (~2 min down the road) my fries and jalapeno bites were cold and stale (the cheese in the bites was solid), and my burger was lukewarm at best. I've been here quite a few times over the years, and this is the worst experience I've had.

Just Bee Restaurant is a newly opened eatery in Jonesborough that offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. The menu features a variety of items such as breakfast biscuits, burritos, waffles, pancakes, sandwiches, and hamburgers. The diner has received positive feedback on its service and cleanliness. Customers have praised the Telford breakfast and breakfast burritos while also recommending the sausage, egg & cheese biscuit. Visitors appreciate the generous portion sizes and pleasant atmosphere at Just Bee Restaurant.
Breakfast was great! Just what we would expect. Service was on point and venue we already knew. Clean, neat and tables far enough apart. Price in line with other breakfasts. Glad to have Just Bee in Jonesborough. Be aware of a 3% processing fee included on your bill. It will be taken off if you pay by cash. We had the Telford breakfast and breakfast burritos. Shared one pancake. All good. This is nit picky, but the forks are a little small and we had to adjust to them. I hope they're changed out. We'll be back for more..... Thanks

Food was OK but overpriced for what you get. We ordered all sides and made our own meals. It was a bit cheaper. Service was absolutely horrible, and well, I hate excuses, so when I went to check out and was asked how everything was by my server who I hadn't seen since she took my order I tried not to say anything but I couldn't hold my tongue. I wasn't nasty, but I let her know how displeased I was with her service. Not once did she check in with us, not her or the server who brought us our food asked if we needed anything or if we needed refills. I watched our server seat all the other customers that showed up after we ordered and even watched her refill their drinks while they were waiting on their food. I was told sorry I'm working alone. I told her, "Don't worry, I know it's not your fault that they didn't schedule anyone else to work, but the customers were the ones who really suffered." The other issue I had was how unbelievable cold it was in their. Although my food came out warm, it got cold long before I could finish eating it, which says a lot about the core temperature in their considering how fast I eat.

Big city prices, small town diner!! Especially for the food quality we received. Half the items were cold or just luke warm, and it wasn't busy when we were there. That would have at least been a little more understandable, but it was actually empty. Maybe they were having an off day, might give lunch a try sometime, and redo my rating, but that would have to be a pretty amazing burger for the price.

Everything was delicious! The man and I both got the corned beef hash platters and shared a serving of biscuits and gravy. Hash was cooked to perfection, deliciously crispy! I had bacon which was also cooked perfectly, he had the sausage and no complaints. Eggs over medium came out exactly as ordered. Biscuits and gravy were yummy, fluffy not hard at all and gravy was good! My only wish, better OJ! They have the Tropicana in the bottle and it’s not my first pick, but other than that absolutely lovely visit, will be back for sure.

Pretty cool and quick service. The food was great and even got me an extra side for free. They're open early and close early.

Was shocked by the prices on the menu but thought the food must be good. Didn't have to wait long for the food and it looked really good. First bite of the cheeseburger and I was done. The meat looked weird, it actually had hollow pockets inside the pattie and it was very bland. $The fries were good but got cold fast and I was never offered a refill on my drink and given one small napkin, I used to wrap the bite of burger in. $16 for worst dining experience in a long time

My family came across this sweet diner while visiting the area. The food was good, arrived quickly, and portions were generous. Everyone working was so sweet and our server, Brittany, was very attentive and kind. It’s definitely worth the stop for breakfast!

If you find yourself in the charming town of Jonesborough near Johnson City, make sure to stop by Olde Towne Pancake House and Catering for a delightful breakfast experience. True to its name, this cozy eatery specializes in an array of pancakes that will satisfy any craving—from classic buttermilk to unique flavors like blueberry hotcakes, apple-cinnamon stacks, peaches n cream, pumpkin spice, and even butterscotch for those with a serious sweet tooth.
Update. 2nd trip not as good as the first. Not a fan of the fries. Also got deconstructed strawberry roll ups to go (so they wouldnt be soggy) but they left the strawberries on them making them not edible. We had already left or I would have said something. Just check your to go orders. First visit..Excellent food and service! Love the roll up crapes. Give them a try

This is by far the best breakfast restaurant in the Tri-Cities region. As you can see from my photos, the food is consistently prepared and presented. We go there frequently. The establishment is owned by three local sisters 👩‍👧‍👧, and at least one is on location at all times. Atmosphere is that of a popular restaurant in a small town. You can expect to wait to be seated, but we always think it's worth it. Longest I've waited is 40 minutes, but that is at peak time on a Saturday. Typical time is about 15-20 🕒 minutes for a party of 4. Coffee ☕ is hot and served in large mugs. It's good, and they have sugar, sweeteners, and flavored cream and half-&-half on the table. Ice water 💧 is always 🧊cold. Recommendations: omelets are my favorite choice, I can't resist the Fajita Chicken Omelet, another great choice is the Spinach Omelet. Upgrade the toast to a single pancake 🥞, and if you're looking for a real treat, go for the pumpkin pancake 🥞 (see video below). They have gluten-free pancakes available, too. 100% Maple syrup is available for an extra charge if you're 🍁 a maple syrup kind of person. Standard syrup comes with all pancakes served. The Big Breakfast or Old Timer's breakfast are your classic style country cooking. 🍳🥓 Parking 🅿️ can be an issue, I usually park down the street toward the downtown area and walk up. Building is wheelchair ♿ & stroller 🤱 accessible. Thanks for reading this, and enjoy Jonesborough. ❤️

Think Aunt Bea and Andy Griffith style atmosphere when you enter the Pancake House. It’s my favorite Saturday spot along with many other locals. The food is delish and the service is amazing! Especially Kim!

Absolutely love this local restaurant. We went for breakfast and got pancakes with eggs and bacon. The pancakes were so big and fluffy with amazing flavor. Service was great with the servers being very friendly and quick. Food came out fast as well and prices are great. It can get pretty busy during the weekends so definitely get here early if you don’t want to wait.

This is one of the best brunch spots in the area. We were looking for a new breakfast spot and came upon Old Towne Pancake House. We come back on the weekends anytime we can and everything we have tried so far as been delicious. We’ve had both the plain buttermilk pancakes, the blueberry pancakes, and the hash brown casserole, which are all really good. The service is amazing and every waitress is so kind and attentive. Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for a cute spot for breakfast or lunch that offers great service and delicious food.

Well, I went with my adult son and was delighted. In a time where I get increasingly weary of large chains and very standardised food options, it was obvious the food was freshly prepared to order, home cooked, tasty and not very expensive either. We sat on the small patio in front which is cute and just far enough from the main road that the noise from the road is not disturbing and you cannot smell the cars either. Overall, I will be back without a doubt.

The food was excellent and the staff were friendly. Their sense of humor can seem a bit sarcastic at first, but once you catch on, you realize they’re just being playful and welcoming.

Food & Drink
Nestled in the historic town of Jonesborough, Tennessee Hills Distillery offers a unique experience for visitors. Housed in a building dating back to the 1840s, this distillery provides small-batch, hand-bottled spirits that are a must-try. The venue also features an eatery serving incredible pub grub and cocktails in rustic surroundings. Visitors can take a tour of the former salt house turned distillery and sample their creations while learning about the production process.
This place is the best!! All of their products, no matter what you prefer, is top notch! I enjoyed the whiskeys, the vodka and even the flavored cream liqueurs they offered. They have a bar that offers cocktails and small bites. I got the Bloody Mary (I am a vodka fan) and it was one of the best I’ve gotten! This is a must see if you’re in the area, whiskey fan or not!

Absolutely loved our visit to the Tennessee distillery! I came with my brother, and we had an amazing time from start to finish. The tour was informative and fun — you can really feel the passion behind the craft. The sampling was the highlight; every flavor was smooth, bold, and unique. The staff made the whole experience even better with their hospitality and knowledge. Definitely a must-visit if you’re in the area. We’ll be back! What an unforgettable experience at Tennessee Hills Distillery! My brother and I had an amazing time. Our tour guide, Noah, did an outstanding job — hard to believe it was his first time giving the tour! He made it informative and fun. We even got accidentally locked in a room (which just added to the adventure), but Sam came to the rescue like a champ. After the tour, we headed upstairs where Corey served up drinks with top-tier service and great energy. Sipping on spirits while overlooking the mountains and watching the rain pour down was the perfect ending to an already awesome visit. Highly recommend this spot — the people, the drinks, and the atmosphere are all on point. ⸻ Let me know if you’d like a shorter version or one focused more on the humor of getting locked in!

Devin was the best bartender. He was so helpful and friendly. He offered so many suggestions of great mixes to make. The bar food was delicious and all the drinks were great including the mocktails. Devin really wanted everything to be perfect for us.

This is an exceptional distillery. My wife and I visited on October 14, 2025. We visited our daughter in Kentucky, then we detoured over 5 hours to Bristol. We did a tasting and then enjoyed lunch at the restaurant. I cannot say enough good things about this place. The wings and the pork burnt ends were both amazing. The tasting with Cameron was also wonderful. We got to sample 17 different spirits and get information about each spirit and backstories about the business. I would give 6 stars! Visit, enjoy, and purchase!

Having visited the Bristol location earlier in the week, we thought it best to bring the rest of the family to the original location at the Salt House in Jonesborough. Curley was our host and showed us a fantastic time! Spent a lot more time (and money) than we expected to, but it was so worth the visit. Thanks for another amazing experience!

Nestled in the historic heart of Jonesborough, TN, The Corner Cup is a delightful coffee shop that beckons visitors with its warm and inviting atmosphere. With an array of offerings including hot and iced coffees, cold brews, espresso drinks, and a selection of teas, this charming spot is perfect for any caffeine lover. Super cute lil cafe! So calm! We got a cinnamon muffin, a cold brew and a latte, everything was GOOD! Been here twice in two weeks and going back for sure :)

5 stars for the amazing coffee, but 1 star for their hours. Closes at 3pm, fairly early for a cafe! However, shop may be closed earlier. There were many other patrons who were interested in getting refreshments at 2pm this day, only to find they had closed at 1pm. Recommend calling prior to visiting, to ensure they are open. Coffee is delicious ☕

The staff was welcoming. They had a wonderful seasonal selection in addition to their normal menu. The coffee had a great flavor with no bitterness. Loved the fact that they had several milk alternatives to choose from. Have a very cute little shop attached to the coffee shop that was nice to walk through while you wait for your coffee.

I really love a coffee shop, but even more so on a cold day, so I decided to try The Corner Cup out on a 30F Sunday. I really do like the atmosphere here; with its two toned paint, miss matched table and chairs, and reclaimed wood counter. It just has the vibes of an eccentric safe haven. The baked goods where amazing! The three of us orders strawberry scones, fresh out of the oven, and they where so good we all ordered another each after we where done (although I tired the cheddar bacon the second time around) They where soft and flavorful the way they should be. Halfway between a cookie and a biscuit, perfect. My only gripe was the coffee itself. Anyone can make a cup of plain black coffee at home….but mixed drinks are the bread and butter of a coffee shop. Both the Mocha and the Cappuccino where good, but the added flavors where overpowering. Chocolate, vanilla, hazelnut….these should be undertones that bring out the best in the coffee, not overwhelm it. Felt like someone handed me a hot chocolate. Overall, great experience. Will be back, but not in my tops for sure.

Located in the heart of historic downtown Jonesborough, The Corner Cup has recently reopened after renovation. This kitchy little coffee shop possesses a vintage charm showcasing a full-size 1940's Whitman's Chocolate refrigerator display cabinet with neatly folded merch for sale. Their menu is replete with brunchy food items, yummy scones, and a nice variety of Java based beverages. However, be aware seating is very limited and it can get quite loud, so depending on the current clientele, a quiet conversation may not be possible. An outside table also provides extra optional seating, weather permitting.

Candy store
Experience an enchanting and vibrant candy store, The Lollipop Shop, where you can grab a coffee to-go at The Corner Cup before exploring its colorful aisles. This old-fashioned shop offers an array of retro treats and Wacky Soda, with the unique feature of Candy Buddies, akin to a Build-A-Bear experience but with candy. As you browse through this nostalgic haven, you may stumble upon their movie rental section in the back corner—a sight rarely seen in recent times.
This is a really cool candy shop! Very vibrant and colorful inside. You can buy candy by the pound. There are also some individually priced items. They have movies for rent in the back corner of the shop. I haven't seen videos displayed for rent in a long time. It was rather nostalgic. We couldn't pass up entering based on the storefront. It has lots of curb appeal. Parking is available on the street.

This is a quaint shop with a lot of old fashion versions of sweets. That will certainly set off a diabetic episode. If you spend much time here. The next time we visit, I'm making sure that my kids cross the street when we get near to it. Even the Yoda statue out front offers a warning: "go not here if smart, you are." If you're really up for the punishment, there's also a rather extensive arcade with about six dozen machines on the second floor. But don't say I didn't warn you.

Local quirky passion project in an otherwise traditional-looking small town. It may be fun to stop by if you're passing through, but there is nothing here to justify going out of your way.

My sister and I came from Iowa to visit my best friend for the weekend last weekend -we’ve never been to Tennessee before -we visited this wonderful candy store! I’m not a Facebook fan but when I get “GREAT” customer service these days -I let it be known because it’s becoming a thing of the past. Jeff was not only welcoming but also kind enough to let us know of some other places to visit while there including sites to see and restaurants -he even took a picture with us at his new “sticker” photo machine! And… his taffy was the best I’d ever eaten.

Rating 4 stars because of an item that was damaged. This store has an impressive amount of antiques and fun items for the size of the store. There's a lot. The only reason I rated 4 stars is because I bought a vintage mason jar and when I got the lid off, I saw a big chip under the lid. 😭 The cost was too much considering the chip in my opinion and I wouldn't have purchased if I saw this in advance. They had some other mason jars and I wished I checked under the lid of the others before purchasing as it's quite upsetting. I did notice the very slight dent in the aluminum lid but didn't notice the chip under the lid, it's possible someone in store dropped it but I don't know. The rest of the items I purchased are perfect and I love them. I'm sure this was just overlooked. I got some geodes, a unique sterling ring, mini cat figurine (I collect the mini's) and some other collectible odd and ends I'm a big collector and had been wanting one vintage mason jar. I drove 45 mins to this area to visit another shop and I was so happy that I discovered this store and I'm sure I'll return. Prices are a bit on the average to slightly high side of what you would see on eBay and other shops but it's worth the visit. The ring I purchased was actually priced considerably lower then you would pay at other stores at only $14 for a ruby sterling ring ring on the dainty side without being too dainty. Just the right size for my finger and the price was a steal in my opinion and I thought the geodes were priced reasonably. I spotted some Mickey Mouse collectibles and various vintage dinnerware I thought was a tiny bit over priced. Back in 2004 to 2009 I used to sell antiques on eBay and I've stayed in the loop with some collectibles and their value but I'm certainly not an expert either. All in all this is definitely a store that's worth checking out. I was impressed with how much this store had to offer and will return.

The best brewery in town hands down! We come here every year when we come in from FL to visit family. Nice people and a 10/10 atmosphere. Definitely try the maple pecan porter if they have it! (this pic is the Stille Nacht, took it about 4 years ago)

We had the best experience as travelers wanting a beer on a summer day. The women working let us sample several as there were A LOT of options once she asked what we liked. I couldn’t decide between two of them and she gave me half pours of each. It was very kind and generous. Highly recommend as a great local brewery to support!

What a great hidden gem. We were visiting my parents in Morristown and we were out for a drive and found this great brewery. The beer was awesome and we bought growlers to go. They have a lot of outside seating and some in door seating. Ok bathroom and the staff was great. No food but we expect that at most taprooms. There was plenty of parking but I can imagine this little place fills up quick.

Dunkin' is a beloved chain known for its signature breakfast offerings and an impressive array of coffee beverages. Many patrons enjoy stopping by after church on Sundays, appreciating the cozy atmosphere where the music is just right and the temperature comfortable. Customers often rave about their experiences with friendly staff who go above and beyond, like one thoughtful employee who provided a complimentary donut to help someone take their medicine.
Ordered a sausage, egg, and cheese croissant and got it in less than 30 seconds hot and delicious. The cashier was very pleasant and allowed my black coffee to be poured in my travel mug instead of a disposable cup, and apparently (she said) it was cheaper that way!

Cold foam was chunky and gross. I ordered a cold brew and it tastes awful, so I had to throw it away as soon as I got it. Annoying since I wasted $5 and like 15 minutes waiting for my mobile order in the first place. The lady also attempted to give me someone else’s drink before I told her that was the wrong order. Whole experience was a mess.

They short you money. So watch out . Make sure you count your money. I was in a rush I didnt until I got in the car and left. I called and the first girl was so rude to me which being unfriendly and rude is how they seem to operate on a regular basis. Worst staff I believe I’ve ever seen compiled in one place. 20 minutes for two coffees. Gave them the benefit of the doubt after it taking 15 minutes last week for a coffee. Nope. It’s just always like this. Every single employee has an attitude and acts like you’re a strain on their life. Stay away from here.

Absolutely love this Dunkin , it’s in a very convenient place for me, every staff member is always super nice, I tip often, but I have seriously never seen a dunkin move so slow for them to be so fully staffed every single time it’s moving slow. That’s the only complaint that I have. And I’m not talking like not fast enough for me. I’m talking like 10+ minutes in the drive-through all for there to also be people in line that are also waiting on the inside. And every time I go inside after pulling out of the drive-through they are moving like snails, and they’re not even old.

I haven't found a bad dunkin yet! We got our favorite Caramel Craze and they were great as always. The employees were on the ball but still polite.
Jessica — Google review
Dude at the window forgot our fritters and when we asked for them he didn't check anything just grabbed one and when we said we had two and he gave so much attitude having to walk 10 feet over to grab another one :| Also I've had to sit and wait 15 minutes for 2 medium coffees and they were made wrong. Not that hard to do your job.

Ice cream shop
Nestled in the heart of the community, Old Town Dairy Bar is a charming local gem that truly delivers on flavor and friendliness. Known for its delightful ice cream desserts and fantastic milkshakes, this spot is perfect for satisfying your sweet tooth. The menu also features hearty options like burgers and sandwiches, including a standout Philly steak & cheese that has garnered rave reviews. With a welcoming atmosphere and attentive staff, it's an ideal place to grab a light snack or indulge in something more substantial.
This is a small local place and it delivered. They had terrific ice cream desserts. The shakes were awesome. The staff was very friendly. We just had desserts and I am disappointed that we had not planned to have a meal there. I love a good hot dog and I can't wait to give that a try. Local places are the bomb. Come here.

Wonderful place to go for a light snack or a big burger and milkshake. I got the ham and cheese sandwich which comes with mayonnaise, lettuce and tomato, with fries and a peanut butter and banana milkshake. Everything was great!
Breezlbub — Google review
I used to brag about this place and recommend it to people but sadly it has gone so down hill. The cleanliness is beyond questionable and the staff are rude 99% of the time. The last few trips have been negative experiences but the final straw was getting there at 8:54 ( a night they closed at 9) just to get my sick daughter a blizzard, would have taken two minutes to make no food or anything just a blizzard, to be greeted at the speaker by a worker coming out of the door saying "sorry we closed early." and before I can say anything at all the employee closed the door and walked away. I tried so hard to keep supporting a small business but sadly they don't care about their customers.
Sarah M — Google review
My son and I went for the first time today. He got a kids sundae and I got a brownie fudge sundae. I actually expected to get a good brownie, but instead got what seemed like Little Debbie cosmic brownies. I was pretty disappointed and ended up throwing the brownies and half of the soft serve away. One of the brownies also had a small piece of the wrapper still on the bottom of it. The food smelled amazing. I wouldn't mind going back to order something else, just not the brownie sundae again.
Kimberly D — Google review
Good food and fair price. It is a local eatery and the interior is old and sad. Definitely could use an update to keep up with newer competitors. It's a great little restaurant that could continue to thrive with just a few modern upgrades.
Bee 2 — Google review
This was a spur of the moment stop, based on the sign that said dairy bar and cheese spuds. Really had no idea what to expect when we went in. The gentleman up front was very friendly! Decided to have the cheese spuds, delicious! Got 2 orders. The strawberry shortcake Sunday was decent, nothing exciting really, the blue raspberry Icee unfortunately was very disappointing, not sure if it was the right syrup or if it was old, but it tasted more like snow cone syrup… so daughter didn’t want it. Bathrooms? Well…. I’m on the fence between the idea of a bathroom with no privacy doors on toilets to maybe they are family only bathrooms? I think I prefer doors… Overall cute little local place, clean and lots of parking.

Best Philly steak & Cheese sandwich you'll ever find!!!!! Ice cream is awesome too!!!! Staff as nice as can be. Customer dinning room nice &clean. 10 out of 10!!! We will always eat here!!!
Kimberly C — Google review
I love a dive. Just a little greasy spoon type place with solid food. BUT this place is going to get someone hurt. The food was fine, with the exception of the slush puppy. That machine definitely needs serviced. The cleanliness was really bad. Not dirty dining room bad. It was, but again grew up on the greasy spoon. Dirty tables is fine with me. The kitchen had stratified grease, food, and debris. There were dirty/greasy towels hanging off and pulled under grills, fryers, prep stations. There was garbage or some kind of debris piled behind a cardboard cutout near the counter. Two stars because the food was ok. We didn’t get sick, but the lack of attention to cleanliness will get someone sick or cause a fire.

History museum
Nestled in the charming downtown of Jonesborough, the Chester Inn State Historic Site and Museum offers a captivating journey into Tennessee's past. Once hailed as the premier hotel on the frontier, this well-preserved building now serves as a museum showcasing an impressive collection of memorabilia that tells the story of Jonesborough from its founding in 1779 to today. Visitors can explore fascinating exhibits, including a diorama depicting life in the town during the 1850s, along with photographs and historical articles.
The history here is off the chart. It's free to visit. Informative displays on the ground floor and the second and third floors are furnished. If you have an hour to spare, spend it here. Find parking g across the street or on the main street, if you're lucky. We walked into town from the visitors center. Another recommended stop.

Downtown historic Jonesborough was a nice way to spend a quiet morning. It's a very slow conservative town, don't expect to find shops open on Sunday until after church but if you want to really soak in historic North Eastern Tennessee, this site the place to go. The small town charm is everywhere you look, most people will say hello to you as you walk by and everyone you come across will be helpful and quaint. It's an adorable area that is worth visiting if you happen to be in Johnson City, just try and take the scenic way in if you can. The countryside and houses leading in to Jonesborough are stunning and is certainly worth the detour.

Jonesborough is Tennessee’s oldest town and full of history which is captured in the oldest downtown building. It contains tons of photos, two floors representing Victorian era hotel and much more. The staff is always helpful and they do Town Tours on Saturday’s!

Visitors praise Jonesborough's beauty and rich history, recommending it for history enthusiasts and those who appreciate old buildings.
This town is so beautiful. Full of history. I could totally spend the rest of my life here if I had the option. The little strip of businesses are so cute. I would recommend this to anyone who loves history or old buildings. I would come here again if I’m ever in the area.

I adore the staff at Mauk’s! My husband has had two spinal surgeries and we had been researching Stressless furniture for several years. Lo and behold, right in the heart of charming Jonesbourough we find a Stressless retailer. Upon entering, I was immediately excited because I love shops like this! Kitchen & home decor, furniture, bags, Willow Tree People, Simply Southern, Vera, it’s all there…plus the Stressless!! We ended up purchasing 2 chairs and a sofa and the wonderful lady who helped us was so patient, she spent nearly 2 hours with us, as we figured out the models and colors we wanted. So accommodating!! Joel himself delivered and set up our chairs and he’s quite lovely to chat with. We will continue to shop here and are excited to get our couch 💛 Highly recommend whether you need a quick gift or a new living room suite!

What a great place to buy furniture from! I recently ordered some Stressless couches and chairs from this store and had an excellent experience. Joel and his staff were very helpful in the process of picking out which items would best suit me and my lifestyle. Joel is a great guy to work with and was very helpful in setting up the furniture in my house once it arrived. I love the Stressless furniture that I received and just ordered more for a mother room. I would highly recommend them if you are looking for some new pieces to add to your home.

It’s a lovely gallery that features local artists in Jonesborough. They host multiple shows a year and teach classes. The owners are a big part of the community. We have some of the gallery’s art on our house. You’ll definitely want to check them out and keep in touch.

I participated in a group show and loved it! The Griffin team has so much talent combined with love for the community, the Arts and supporting other artists.
Temple R — Google review
The Griffin Art Gallery is a hidden gem in the mountains of eastern TN and the general Tri-City area. The owners (James and Debbie) are wonderful people with a deep passion for art and working with artists in the area. I was honored to be part of the first photography show held at the gallery (Point of View, 5/10-6/8/2024); first ever, as far as I am aware. The care and thought that went into the opening reception was more than I could have asked for. If you are ever in this area, you need to check this gallery out. They have rotating exhibits every month, as well as permanent displays. Very clean and welcoming.

So glad to have Griffin Art Gallery in our community. James Griffin is an inspiring painter and Debbie's several creative works are wonderful! I am so honored to also be an exhibitor at the gallery. I see so many in the community enjoying the receptions and creative experiences offered by James and Debbie, that include classes in painting and flower pressing, and card making. Come down to Jonesborough and enjoy the art! Future shows will exhibit the art of many local and regional artists.
Jane B — Google review
James & Debbie are truly artists and kindred spirits, who magically smile with their eyes and make you feel completely welcomed into their gallery . James’ art work is a swan song of color, composition and brush stroke movement that must be seen in person to appreciate. This shop elevates the visiting experience of the already darling Jonesborough village and continues to offer fresh work from local artists throughout the year as well! I’m grateful to have this art gallery for becoming a part of my creative life!

Oak Hill School

Historical landmark
Established in 1886, Oak Hill School originally catered to the Knob Creek community. Over the years, it functioned not only as a school but also as a hub for various community gatherings. However, in the 1950s, its role as an educational institution came to an end. The historic building was then relocated from Knob Creek to Jonesborough and now stands behind the Visitors Center at its present location.

If you're on the hunt for a delightful fast-food experience, look no further than Hardee's! This beloved chain is known for its mouthwatering fried chicken, hearty burgers, and scrumptious made-from-scratch breakfast biscuits that are sure to kickstart your day. Recently, I had the chance to order through their app and snag a fantastic coupon deal. Although weather conditions led to a slight hiccup with my original item being unavailable, the attentive staff quickly offered me an alternative that hit the spot.
Ordered with the app to redeem a great coupon offer. However, when I went to pick up my order, the young man at the counter explained that due to weather (snow and ice) they were out of my coupon item. I asked about options and we agreed on an acceptable substitute. Quick and customer focused service by the young man and a happy customer. Thanks, Hardee's! Order # 902573

Called to let them know the bread on my sandwich was old and cold. The guy I was talking to seemed to be inconvenienced with what I was telling him. He then proceeded to say what would you like me to do? I told him I didn’t want anything other than to let him know they are serving old bread and didn’t want other customers to get old bread. This is the first time I’ve had an issue here with the food or a rude employee. I didn’t even eat the food. I threw it away. That’s how old it was.

I don’t understand how the same product can taste so much different at this restaurant than the other Hardee’s. This place is normally fantastic! I’d also like to mention, these workers here seem to communicate instead of fuss and yell. Clean, tasty, and friendly!
