Barbecue restaurant
Barbecue area
Nestled in the charming town of Delaware Water Gap, Joe Bosco Authentic Smokehouse BBQ is a family-owned restaurant that takes pride in serving prime beef and artisanal pork dishes. The establishment's name pays homage to the special bond between the owner's father, Joe, and his pup Bosco. Visitors rave about the warm and friendly atmosphere, with the owner making them feel like part of the family.
Joe Bosco BBQ is a true hidden gem in the Poconos. Every visit has been consistently excellent, with standout dishes that showcase genuine craft and care. The brisket is incredibly tender and flavorful, practically melting in your mouth. The pork belly burnt ends are rich and perfectly caramelized, and the mac and cheese delivers exactly what you'd hope for, creamy, cheesy comfort. Even the sides and BBQ sauce hit the mark, rounding out an already impressive menu. The atmosphere is welcoming, and the people behind the place make the experience even better. The owner brings a confident, no-nonsense charm, and her daughter adds a gracious, kind touch to the service. Highly recommend for anyone seeking authentic, top-tier barbecue. Call ahead for best results if you’re looking for something specific. This is standard everywhere across the US. Great meat sells out.

I had been meaning to go here since I found out that a BBQ restaurant. So today I choose to make that happen and I was not disappointed. The service was great served with a smile and great conversation. The food was delicious and as you are able to tell that brisket sandwich was well eaten. The photos shows you the ambience offered. I really enjoyed my experience here. Oh yeah, I forgot mention that it’s BYOB, so don’t forget to bring your bottle. I had an Arnold Palmer made of homemade lemonade and iced tea. Delicious 😋

Great BBQ and amazing kind service! Must say this is definitely a place you want to experience if you are near the Poconos! The people were amazing and the atmosphere was so relaxed and family oriented. Plenty of parking and such a sweet little town. I had the pulled pork and macaroni and cheese and it was mouth watering! If you are a food lover it worth the stop!

Ah we fell in love with this place! Absolutely delicious! The hushpuppies are amazing and hubs had the word to ur smother which was phenomenal and portion wise, he even took half home. I had Burnt ends and brisket with Mac and corn bread, omgosh I felt like I was in Texas again (we lived there for a time some yrs ago lol) best compliment bc I haven't had food that good since. Sadly I didn't take food pics. It was so darn good looking and smelling we dug in b4 I thought abt it. Definitely be back for more!

My family and I had an incredible experience at this restaurant. We were greeted by a warm and friendly woman named Deb, who turned out to be the owner. Her passion and dedication to her customers were evident in every interaction. Deb took our orders, served us delicious food, and even held my baby so I could finish eating. The cookies, homemade drinks, and overall ambiance were all fantastic. My husband and I couldn’t resist and continued to eat, ordering more food and even taking some back for our other children. The restaurant was spotlessly clean, but the food was truly to die for.
Samantha G — Google review
Fairly good food. Horrendous customer service. My husband and I stopped by after a motorcycle + hiking trip over the weekend and were excited to try this place, but unfortunately that excitement started to die fairly quickly as we started on an off note when the cashier made a weirdly agressive comment questioning my request to have bbq sauce on my wings but also get some honey sriracha on the side as I placed my order. After ordering we were given a buzzer and sat outside on their patio. About 45 minutes passed without a buzz and I had heard what sounded like some names being called, so I figured I'd check if there was a problem with the buzzers or if things were just taking a while. As I was asking the nice gal who was running food and she was midway through politely answering my question, the cashier rudely interrupted her to shout at me that the wait is over an hour and if it hasn't been an hour my food isn't ready and don't come back to ask unless it's been at least that long. This was news to me and I figured I was being very patient and polite in pointedly NOT complaining, and that it should be expected for patrons to ask a question if there has been an unusually long wait. As I was up there, I did hear that they had started to warn the folks who were newly coming in, which was something positive, I suppose. When my buzzer finally went off, after about 1hr 15min or so of waiting, there was a side missing from the order. I hesitated even to bring this up because of how every interaction at the counter had gone so far, but they were quick to address this without extra comments, so no trouble there. As far as the food went — sausage was amazing, the wings and hush puppies were good, the brussel sprouts were okay, and the cole slaw was underwhelming. The bathroom was pretty dirty and didn't have toilet paper. I'm an easy going gal, and not hard to please. But all in all this experience was a let down, mostly because of the weirdly mean treatment I got from the cashier. I get being busy! It was a holiday weekend, it happens. I get standing up for yourself if a customer is being difficult too, but I always go out of my way to be a polite guest in a restaurant and to get treated like trash over one simple request and a polite question was unpleasant and uncalled for. The "always served humble and kind" signs in multiple locations throughout the resturant made this experience feel incredibly ironic. So yeah, if it wasn't for the nasty cashier I would have overlooked the long wait, the bathroom situation, being charged $2+ for a tiny cup of honey sriracha sauce, the missing side, the couple of lackluster dishes and STILL probably left 4 or 5 stars, but this left a really bad taste in my mouth. Won't be back on our next trip to the Water Gap.

Omg the food here is divine ! The Cole slaw was unreal, as well as the pulled chicken bbq. Would absolutely come here again a heartbeat. The sweet tea recipie is tangy sweet with a touch of lemon citrus. I love this place ! So so yummy!

Drove over an hour to find this place and wasn’t disappointed. Real deal BBQ. Owner, Deb, is an absolute delight. Burnt ends were tasty. Ribs fell off the bone. Brisket was smoky and delicious. Bacon jam, corn bread, and mac&cheese made my brain melt. Highly recommend.

Sake brewery
American restaurant
Beer garden
Sango Kura is a unique establishment in Delaware Water Gap, PA. It is Pennsylvania's first and only sake brewery, named after the owner/brew master's daughter and the Japanese word for coral. The brewery plays a vital role in fermenting sake, similar to how coral nurtures life forms in the ocean. Additionally, Sango Kura offers a Japanese restaurant serving authentic Ramen with exceptional quality noodles that have garnered high praise from visitors.
We went there for a tasting and some ramen. Broth was very light, very tasteful. It is such a cool place. The cucumber salad is really good. The owner is really nice and quite knowledgeable. I didn't expect a place like this around there. I recommend it
Babenskie C — Google review
Awesome experience! Fantastic food & friendly staff :) We got the tantan ramen, pork yoki soba, and their soju cider. The ramen was very yummy, big portion that is definitely worth the price! The pork yoki soba was delicious too. Soju cider was very refreshing and crisp. Was a bit sad that they were out of kimchi when we got there but it gives us something to look forward to trying next time. Highly recommend! I grew up in NYC and had lots of access to similar ramen and other japanese spots so its really cool finding a place out here that is on par with the quality I am used to.

WOW!! One of my favorite stops of my poconos trip! The ramen was yummy & authentic. Very unique concept. I’m an avid brewery visitor and this was my first sake one ever! Wish I lived closer to so could come all the time
Sydney T — Google review
This is a nice little greasy spoon sake and japanese grub spot/dive bar. Were the prices lower, I wouldve easily given this place 5 stars as it fits the vibe. However, the food and service did not fit the increased pricing, so keep that in mind. The pricing is upscale so I will be judging it as upscale. FOOD The takoyaki was pretty good as an app. $10 for 5 balls is upscale bar pricing, which this place is not. The ramen was decent as a quick eat for a dive bar, but for $17 what I would nitpick for $13-14 becomes more insulting. I expect a nice, flavorful, jellied egg in the ramen, not a hard boiled egg. The yakisoba was decent but not for $16. The amount of pork in the yakisoba was very little. The sake flight was reasonable and very tasty. However, when it was served to us, most of them had spilled on the trays by the time they reached our tables. SERVICE No real complaints on service. Food was delivered timely and we were checked on. ATMOSPHERE The atmosphere is dive bar/barcade. If you don't like that, you won't like this place. The decor is eccentric and cramped. Pinups are on everything. You will see wires everywhere, and water is self serve from a glass jug. Display Pachinko machines are on the wall (they dont work) and there are Arcade machines scattered around. The place can feel a little dirty which is fine for a dive bar but I was being charged for upscale. Cell service around the restaurant appears to be disrupted too, so keep that in mind. I would come back if the prices were reduced 20%, or the place was cleaned up and the food quality tightened. It is currently a divebar that sells divebar food at yuppie prices.

we went here last night, this was mine and my boyfriends first date alone since we had our son 7 months ago. appetizers and ramen were good. apps were reasonably priced, but ramen was a little overpriced for the amount of food you get in it. looked like a lot of pork in the bowls but it wasn't, the presentation of the ramen was nice but it wasn’t as much in the bowls as we’d have liked. mushrooms in the ramen were very delicious and the pork was so buttery soft it was amazing! apps were served in little disposable dishes but the waitress didn’t give us any plates to eat the apps over so we ate the apps over napkins. we ordered a sake flight and the waitress just put it on the table and turned around to walk away so i had to stop her to ask what was what in the flight. the restaurant is decorated very pretty and interesting, but the service of our waitress overall didn’t match the showiness of the restaurant. she wasn’t very enthusiastic. if the service was better the experience would of probably been rated a 5 star from us even though the ramen was a few dollars overpriced in my opinion. my boyfriend and i both wish the service matched the feel of the atmosphere here. we still had fun and loved the decor! would try again just to see if it’s a little better next time.

Nice select We ordered the sale flight and the veer flight Beers were delicious I am not a sake gal myself but my friends liked it The food was fresh and tasty,my favorite was the chicken karage. I highly recommend it for small groups, it's a great spot to have a nice drink and snacks. The staff are super nice and service is quick Also the place is next to a great bakery for dessert after a great meal and drink:)

I've reviewed quite a few ramen restaurants on this account, this one is definitely top 3. Sake is good, ramen is great, totally worth a stop if you're in the area, don't be scared away by small town ramen you'll be missing out.

Sango Kura and Rewind Beer Company is more than just a brewery; it's a nostalgic trip through the eclectic, early sci-fi era. Whether you're an avid sake or beer enthusiast or just someone who enjoys unique dining experiences, this spot is bound to leave an impression. Rewind Beer Co. is part of Sango Kura sake brewery and restaurant, which adds a delightful twist to your visit. Known as Pennsylvania’s first and only sake brewery, Sango Kura offers an impressive variety of sake. If you’re in the mood for sake and curious about its different varieties, try their sake flight. The flavors range from delicate to bold, showcasing the artistry behind sake brewing. If you're more of a cocktail person, you can stick to their unique cocktails like the Sake-lita, a blend of junmai ginjo sake, lime, agave, pineapple, and a spicy Tajín rim. The ambiance at Sango Kura is extremely untraditional. The eclectic decor, inspired by early sci-fi TV shows and movies, creates a unique and immersive experience. Whether you choose to sit inside or enjoy the spacious outdoor area, you'll find the environment both welcoming and intriguing. The brewery's ample space ensures you can comfortably enjoy your drinks and meals, making it a great spot for gatherings with friends or a relaxed solo visit. Sango Kura excels in creating a memorable experience through its innovative sake, distinctive ambiance, and the added bonus of a fancy noodle bar. While we visited for the beer selection, the opportunity to explore sake varieties and cocktails adds an extra layer of enjoyment.

The bakery serves up fluffy cakes, pastries, and savory items that fill the air with their enticing aroma. In addition to their delectable baked goods, they also offer handmade jams, pickles, jellies, canned veggies, and pies.
They have a bunch of free pie samples and their angus burger is amazing. 10/10 would recommend this place. Staff is so nice, it’s rare to meet people like them nowadays

We visited on a Saturday in late June 2025 for lunch. We were about to do a kayak excursion with the Edge of Wood Outfitters just across the street and needed some food. We saw that they had some pot pies for sale here and the reviews online looked pretty good. When we stopped by we were overwhelmed by all the items in here. Everything looked SOO good! We knew we had to come back after our trip to get snacks/desserts. We ordered: - Turkey Pot Pie - Chicken Pot Pie - Shepherds Pot Pie - Chicken Fingers and Fries These were so hot and all tasted amazing! I don't know if I could pick a favorite you just couldn't go wrong. They also sell them frozen too but we were on a road trip and there was no way we could keep them frozen for that long. We came back after our kayaking excursion and ordered: - Strawberry Cloud (my wife's favorite) - Caramel Apple Cloud (my favorite) - Carrot Cake Tower (amazing carrot cake, would order again) - Key lime Square (very good flavor, would order again) - Blueberry Turnover (fresh whole blue berries, would order again) - Blueberry Lemon Cookie Sandwich (my favorite) - Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Cookie Sandwich (kid's favorite) - Oatmeal Raisin Cookie Sandwich (wife favorite) All the desserts were just amazing. We would 100% come back here again and possible go a little out of way as well just to hit this place up. We wanted to buy almost everything in the store but my wallet just couldn't do it. I don't think you can really go wrong with anything here. I'd recommend this place to all my family and friends. Especially if you're doing a water adventure with the outfitter across the street, this is a no brainer. The staff here is also super nice, patient, understanding and happy to help us out in making decisions as non-locals/tourists.

Delicious chicken pot pie that was light, tender and flavorful with being nearly as salty as one would expect. The "apple caramel cloud"was similarly amazing and big enough to split between two people. Though that didn't stop us from also buying the strawberry version too, for science.

Perfect pull off the highway spot! The pot pies were awesome. So much great food. All different jams and fudged. We are coming back for sure.
Johnny M — Google review
Just what you want from a farm stand type place. Lots of jarred things, pies, and freshly made sandwiches. The sandwiches are huge, piled onto beautiful, soft, white country bread. The apple pie is quite literally one of the best pies I've ever had, crust and all. If you leave without one, you are making a critical error. Last great thing: the prices are fantastic!
Elissa L — Google review
Every year my friends and I golf at Shawnee country club. Every year we average buying 20 chicken pot pies from the village farmer. When you walk in you are greeted with a friendly hello and smile. Hundreds of fresh baked goods. Hard to walk out with just the pot pies. So we dont. We get pies and pastries to eat on the way home. Nice job village farmer. See you next year.

If you are here in Poconos and looking for place to get local produce/jams/ dessert or a hot sandwich / coffee ? this can be a good option. I visited this place in November and it was a good experience. They have a good collection of jams, honey, pies, freshly baked desserts and lot more if you are looking for a quick bite. The staff were super nice and helped with the selection. I tried their egg sandwich and it was delicious, the bread was freshly baked and tasted real good. I also tried their strawberry cloud in dessert and it had really fresh filling of strawberry jam and cream. The place has ample parking spots and restrooms were located outside. Limited seating was available outside. The place was accessible as it was on first floor.

I recently rediscovered this little restaurant/store. I used to stop here on my way to or from skiing pretty frequently as a teenager, and I'm glad to see it's withstood the test of time. The food is great and reasonably priced. There's no indoor seating, but there are picnic tables, some of which are covered. This is a great local place for quality baked and canned goods. I highly recommend that you stop in and check this place out.

Edge of the Woods Outfitters is a top-notch canoe livery company located in Delaware Water Gap, offering fair prices and an exceptional experience for outdoor enthusiasts. They are highly recommended for overnight canoe trips during the fall or spring, providing fantastic, friendly, and informative staff. The outfitter's well-organized and safety-focused operation ensures a great time on the river, even during peak hours.
Awesome experience. The crew over at Edge of the Woods really set you up to have a great time. They stopped to show us where we would be picked up and even gave us a few spots to stop to fish and swim. We did an overnight camping canoe trip and had a great time. They even went above and beyond helped us pick great campsites to stay at and send me the links where to reserve them. They had an answer to every one of our questions. Already want to do another trip in September and will definitely be using them again.

Been rafting on the Delaware before but not with EOTWO. We are a family of 4 plus a small senior pup, and we went with EOTWO when I found out they were dog friendly. So glad we did! From booking to checking in to getting our life jackets the process was smooth. Jacob gave us a safety briefing then drove us to the starting point where he gave us some more instructions. He was there to pick us up at the end of the trip. Thanks to his friendly attitude we quickly felt comfortable and safe getting onto the raft and paddling along. We will definitely be back next time we go back to the Poconos!

Edge of the Woods are an excellent choice for Kayaking. Our first time on the river here at the Delaware Gap and the folks couldn’t be friendlier or more helpful! They take you to the river side and pick you up at the end. We shared a kayak and after the first 3 hours decided to venture further to the 10mile mark over some light rapids. Exhilarating and fun! The place has ample parking, portaloos, and dressing rooms. Take a waterproof bag if you intend on going down the rapids - we didn’t and we got a bit wet - but it was worth it 👍🏼 06/20/25. We intend on returning 💫

Edge of the Woods Outfitters never lets me down! This is a great spot conveniently located just over the Gap in Pennsylvania. They offer Tubes, kayaks, floats, and canoes to use on the Delaware River. The check-in process is seamless and they will take you and your group to the dboat launch at Smithville Beach to begin your 4, 6, or 10-mile float. Depending on the time of year and the weather you really don't have to do any super heavy paddling just enjoy the day and the current will take you downstream. They provide all the necessary equipment for your day's Adventure and all you have to do is show up with hats, sunblock, water shoes, and some food and beverages and you'll have a great afternoon. We went midweek and had the Delaware River Gap to ourselves. It was great to get out of the city and be able to hear nothing but the birds and the dragonflies buzzing around.

We visited on a Saturday afternoon in late June 2025. It was a sunny and warm day and the parking area was packed with cars. We had to park up on the hill kind of crooked as we went over to check in. Another group got back and left leaving a couple better spot open much closer and under the shade of trees. There are also no real defined parking spots. Check-in went smooth and we filled our water bottles and used the restroom. They took our car keys and told us to go over to the sign and get life jackets and we would get more directions. It was kind of like a rolling registration and the times were much more loosey goosey. The goal was to get the 10 mile trip in. They kind of keep this very loosey goosey too. They said as long as you get to the Kittatinny Point by 4PM you're allowed to keep going to do the 10 miles. They told us to get into a van that just pulled up and people jumped out. We were like awesome, it's just us. Then as we're about to pull out some other staff member flags them down and ask them to take another group of 4. So we have to scoot over and let everyone else in. The drive there was pretty uneventful. We asked our driver if we arrived around 2:30 if he thinks we could make it the 6 miles by 4PM to do the whole 10 miles? He's like yeah, you could totally do it. We were trying to do the math and think it possible. We figured okay, we're going to paddle like hell to make it to Kittatinny Point (6 miles in) by 4PM. So we jumped out the van and there were kayaks there waiting for us. They told us to pick which ones we wanted and we were off at about 2:45 from Smithfield Beach. We didn't really stop much to enjoy the view or the wildlife. We just paddled and only stopped briefly to figure out our location we took turns resting and for water breaks. We had 5 people in our crew. 2 tandem kayaks and 1 solo. We're in our late 30s and our kids are 10, 13 and 16. We've done over 2 dozen kayaking excursions and older kids have done kayaking merit badge with scouts. We've swamped them and flipped them. I would say we're not professionals but way more experienced than your average joe. We've kayaked on rivers, oceans and lakes/ponds and even whitewater. We own 3 kayaks and were very confident in our skills. However it was 3:45 and we still had like 3/4 of a mile to go and we were SOOO tired. We decided to call it incase we got there too late and they wouldn't let us proceed and we didn't get to enjoy the water at all. So we just pulled over and took our time for that last 3/4 of a mile. We slowly drifted and took pictures and just tried to enjoy ourselves for that last little bit. So we finally got the the 6 mile point and pulled our kayaks out. A little disappointed already from not being able to complete the full 10 miles we wanted. We were also there fairly early. They told us to go wait up top and a van would come get us. We got to the top and a van was already there but they were already full and we didn't want to split our party so we decided to wait for the next one. We're sitting at the pavilion tables waiting for the next van. The next van takes a min and were tired and waiting but when the next van pulls up. A large group of kayakers just arrives and runs from the stairs and jumps into the van as we're still gather our belongings. Now there aren't enough seats. If we had to wait for ANOTHER van that was going to be the end of it. The driver was able to convince a couple folks to get off so that we could go back first since we had been waiting since the last van had left. The reason for the minus one star was the bad info given to us by the first driver saying it would easily be do-able 6 miles in 75 mins. We rushed and didn't even get to enjoy the majority of our trip. We really wanted to hit the larger rapids. We also had issues with the return trip and not being super organized. Then also the difficulty with the parking and not having enough spaces. So overall it was a combination of a bunch of small things that made me take the star away. Overall it was a good trip. We would do it again.

I’ve been here 2-3 times now for kayaking. The staff are super knowledgeable and friendly. The little store they have is super cute with nice shirts/stickers/gear you can buy. Never had any problems, everything has always gone super smooth with them! Will continue to go here for kayaking trips :)

Absolutely recommend this place! I’ve gone rafting and tubing with a few different companies in the area, but this one is by far the best. They are super organized — check-in was quick and easy, parking is right on site, no long waits, and their life vests are great quality. I also loved that they have a little shop in case you forget something like a towel, sunscreen, or a hat. We did the Smithfield Trail to Kittatinny route and it was beautiful. The only thing to note is that this trail has quite a bit of aquatic grass, which makes it a little harder to find a good spot to stop and swim. But overall, it was such a wonderful experience.

Sycamore Grille is a family-run restaurant and bar in Delaware Water Gap, offering a relaxed atmosphere and regular live music. It's the perfect spot for unwinding with its low-key vibe, attentive bartenders, and classic pub fare like chicken wings, sandwiches, burgers, and quesadillas. Located in a charming small town area with other delightful businesses to explore, this restaurant provides delicious American cuisine for families and friends.
This was our second choice because our first choice was closed. This will now be our first choice always when in the area. Attentive staff, cozy space, excellent spinach salad with their own maple poppy dressing (which was divine!!) They also had a dessert plate with 5 homemade options: we went with the decadent chocolate layer cake. And in the parking lot sits the sycamore that lends its name: it started growing in 1773: 252 years old. The town is always a delight as well. Highly recommend!

Great place in Del Water Gap. We were driving from Chicago to NY and stopped here randomly for dinner, to allow time for NY traffic to die down before we crossed into NYC area. This restaurant is a gem. It was very comfortable and quaint. Old style charm and friendly. The server was a middle age to older woman, and was great ! Food was fabulous. Prices were very reasonable. We would definitely go back !

My bestie and I went on a little girls weekend and decided to try some restaurants off the beaten path. We saw the reviews for sycamore grill and decided to take a chance considering the menu looked so good! It by far exceeded our expectations! The bar is a little loud but we were able to still chat at the table. The braised short rib and polenta was delicious and the salad was fresh and the homemade dressing was the cherry on top! The decor was lovely and the service was wonderful by our lovely server Trinity. The homemade bread and cinnamon butter were such a nice addition to round out the meal. If you are close by I highly recommend a meal here!

Great place! Our server, Donna, super sweet and attentive. Atmosphere is great, plenty of tables, but somehow still quiet. Adorable esthetics and decor. Food is phenomenal. So many food choices on the menu that sound delicious, made choosing one meal rather difficult. Did not disappoint for even one bite. Will definitely be back to try..... Everything!

It's just OK. I had the black bean burger with arugula. The burger was house made, it was just OK. The texture was wrong. Big October fest going on with lots of October food. The best part was the servers dressed in October fest costumes. The iced tea was good and strong, tasty too. We had the Thai shrimp for an appy, that was just OK too.

I was extremely underwhelmed with the food here. I have been coming here for a few years and I think it certainly went downhill. The pasta dish I always order lacked flavor and this is the second time that has happened this year.. The portions are a lot smaller yet the prices are higher....I am aware things are expensive nowadays and I could only imagine what it takes to be a business owner....but the food is not good enough to pay a higher amount in my opinion. Everything lacks flavor and consistency. The atmosphere is nice and the servers are all very sweet and amazing women, however the owner is truly something else. She is not a great person and I think that it reflects in the way her restaurant is operating and how the food is. I truly feel bad because I cannot see how anyone would choose to eat here when there are so many other great places to eat in the area.

Outstanding Customer Service ! This place has an amazing warm atmosphere! Every Staff Member I had an opportunity to speak with was very polite and engaging ! The food came out great but I was Extremely surprised with the Quality of the French Onion Soup ! If you are in town, u won't be disappointed! I recommend this restaurant 💙 !

Doughboy's Of The Poconos Pizza is renowned for its exceptional customer service and delectable food offerings. With a visit every few weeks, customers are consistently satisfied and never disappointed. The pizza is unrivaled in the area, accompanied by mouthwatering mozzarella sticks that are simply irresistible. Moreover, patrons have the option to enjoy a tall boy beverage before leaving. This establishment exceeds expectations in both culinary delights and top-notch service, deserving of a six-star rating if possible.
The food is absolutely amazing! Also great prices. I highly recommend it.

Came in on a Sunday night during NFL playoffs and I was worried it was going to be jamming with to go orders and the dining room might be busy. That was not the case. I was curious if that was lucky or a sign of things to come. Honestly maybe neither because I didn't find the pizza here to be quite good or quite bad. Honestly just a very middle of the road pie. It was upsetting because it looked good when it came out but it was just light in flavor and the crust was pretty doughy. Next time if I were to get pizza here again I'd definitely ask them to cook it a few more minutes. I had my kids and wanted to get them fed before taking them back to their mother's house so we stopped in since I had never been here. Maybe I'll go back and try some other items but the cheese pizza wasn't enough to make me want to return for that.

Good pizza. Great meatballs. If I knew the size of the meatballs I would have ordered more. Lol. I’m from north jersey where pizza is phenomenal (usually). Won’t go wrong with this joint.

Delicious white pizza!! The crust was great and it was hot and garlicky, especially once I added more garlic powder. We also tried the garlic knots and onion rings, which were fine but I'd stick with the pizza going forward. Beer and beverage selection was good and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely come back for the white pizza!

Day 2

Southwest side of town
For day 2, we recommend exploring the southwest side side of town. Start the day off with Kittatinny Point Visitor Center, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Arrow Island Overlook. All together, your day would be filled with about 8 hours of non-stop fun.

Visitor center
Kittatinny Point Visitor Center is a delightful destination that opens its doors on weekends and select weekdays from Memorial Day to Labor Day, offering free entry for all. Nestled near the Appalachian Trail, this spot boasts stunning views and ample parking, though it can fill up quickly during peak times. Visitors can enjoy activities like kayaking or canoeing in the summer months, with rentals available nearby. The area features challenging yet rewarding hiking trails such as the popular Mt.
Didn't go inside the visitor center, bravura came after 6 pm. The views are amazing here. There is a boat ramp and parking lot for cars with trailers. Good amount of parking space, but it I know the parking could be full in good weather , weekends, midday. Entrance is free. There is one of the entrances to the Appalachian Trail not far away. Also Rental kayaks or kanoe available in summer time. I don't know timing for that. I just saw when they were packing them and leaving.

Coming to the gap is always a joy whether it is for hiking or relaxation. I recommend always getting there very early in the morning to ensure parking in the lots but we did luck out with getting parking at 2 in the afternoon. This was a spontaneous, unplanned, short trip and it was nice to see normalcy with families picnicking and kayaking/rafting. It turned out to be a great afternoon just walking and relaxing with our family. Remember, go early, pack small food (to not attract wildlife) and please clean up after yourselves to keep the national parks as beautiful as they are!

A great trail! Little challenging for my kids (10 and 12), but they managed. If you enjoy hiking through rough terrain, very rocky, then this is the perfect spot! As I've heard, Mt. Tammany trail is pretty popular, so it was kind of crowded when we went. The views on top are breathtaking. On our way back, we stopped by the stream, which ended up being the kids' favorite part! The whole trail (went up on Red and turned back on Blue) took us about 3 hours. Overall, a beautiful hike!

Go early to ensure your free parking. We arrived at noon, waited a few minutes in the parking lot to get a spot as someone was leaving. You will find 1.2 miles long red dot trail to summit mount Tamanny. The journey is not so smooth but the view from the top of the mountain is spectacular. Late October is the best time for watching fall colors.

05/31/2021: Today, we hiked on Appalachian Trail to Sunfish Pond and back down thru Dunnfield Creek Trail, which was such an adventure because we had to walk across the creek at 5 different spots to get back to the trail. First, at this hot outdoor season, parking is the top concern for outdoor lovers. So you can imagine how parking would be since from here, you can access to Appalachian Trail, the most popular hiking trail in Eastern America, and Mt. Tammany overlooking Delaware Water Gap, one of the most popular hiking places in NJ. There are several parking lots on both sides of I-80 you can park. Among them, parking lot at Kittatinny Point Visitor Center is the first choice for us as this is the largest parking lot in the area. Upon arrival at 9:45am, the lot, which can host tens, or over a hundred cars, was about half filled already. On the other side of I-80, right at the trailheads, there’s another parking lot with approximately 25 parking spots, which is more convenient for hikers. And Dunnfield Fall is within thousands feet. Second, there are many picnic tables either in tree shades or under a pavilion here. Since we will picnic after hiking, this is the perfect place for us to park and rest. Third, this park is right by Delaware Water Gap. All you need to do is just to walk down to the river and see the beautiful river and two ridges “looking at each other “ thru Delaware River. Forth, if you like water sports, bring your own kayak or rent from Adventure Sport (see info in one of the pictures or search online for it) and have fun in the river. You can also go fishing here. In a word, if you plan to come to this area either for hiking on the trails or having fun in the water, this park would be a top choice.

Good hiking spot. Family, kids friendly. Right off of I80. Large parking spots , actually 3 diff parking. With a visitor center that's closed due to covid. No bikes. Mud tracks. Rocky. Great views from the top looking into delaware river. No shops near by. Have a backpack with water, snacks etc as needed. Would have given 5 stars if we have nice bike trails around to get to the top.

At the end of our weekend we stopped here for some last minute photo ops and use the bathroom. So happy we stopped. Great views, clean bathrooms and beautiful hiking. If you want to spend some time in nature here is your stop. Clean, easily accessible and great parking facility with plenty of spots

I was looking for a moderate hike near my house in New Jersey, and this mountain in the Delaware water gap was just about an hour. I went with a friend. It's easy to find, has a parking spot, restrooms and picnic spots at the bottom. There are park rangers happy to help with directions etc. As it is right off the highway, pay attention to road signs to reach. Now about the hike itself. There are two main trails - Red Dot Trail and Blue Dot Trail. Currently due to the covid-19, you go up the Red Dot and come down the Blue Dot to avoid crowding. Same rule applies to parking. Rangers will turn you away if the lots and street parking are full. The hike is moderately difficult, with some fairly steep parts. There are multiple vantage points throughout the trail to your right. The view of the highway and the bend in the Hudson River would take your breath away. Another thing that can take your breath away is the hike itself. I am not superfit, and was exhausted at the end of the 7.5 km round trip hike. Carry water, take breaks, listen to your body. It's a beautiful view from the top and there is a small waterfall on your way down the blue Dot Trail. Strongly recommended!

Trail head
Dunnfield Creek Trail is a delightful 3.5-mile journey that meanders alongside a charming creek, leading you through a lush hemlock ravine to the tranquil Sunfish Pond, a stunning glacial lake nestled in the mountains. As you traverse this moderate trail, you'll encounter several stream crossings and have the opportunity to connect with the Appalachian Trail for those looking to extend their adventure.

Parking for Appalachian Trail to Mount Minsi

Parking lot
The Parking for Appalachian Trail to Mount Minsi is located in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, offering a gateway to stunning wilderness adventures. Hiking up Mount Minsi provides panoramic views of the Delaware River Water Gap, although some suggest that the view from the top may be overrated. The left trail leads to a steep but rewarding overlook of the gap, while further ascent is described as challenging with obstructed views.
Right at 5 miles to the mount and then down on the fire road per Apple Watch. Post-snow, foggy day, but beautiful nonetheless! Areas of increased difficulty but overall it balances out!

Nice place. Saw a huge snake in the lake take down a swan. I never knew they had big snakes here but that was crazy!
Troll T — Google review
Great hike! Little bit of everything (single track, double track, paved, gravel, fire road). I went out and back an hour and a half, total 6 miles. 3 miles from the lot is a radio antenna with great views and there are small waterfalls and vistas along the way.
Joe B — Google review
Hiking up the mount minski is good but the views at the top are overrated. Hike up and take the left trail, which is steep but this will lead to a nice overlook of Delaware River Water Gap. I have uploaded the pic. However, from this overlook to the top is a difficult hike. The view is obstructed (see pic). If you love to hike then go for it, but if you are only there to see the view then just turn back from the overlook. Go clock wise, the steep hike is surrounded by nice views and small running springs, keeps you excited and involved. Coming down take the less steeper road which is 0.4 mile more than the other one. It is around 4.5 miles round trip and we did it all in 2.5 hours. 1.5 hours to go up and 1 hour to come down. Note: The parking lot is very small but the parking on the main street (down the road) is free.

Very small parking lot. Plan to get there early between 8:00-9:00am to find a spot. The trail is nice, pretty well marked for the most part. Moderate hike with great views of the Delaware Water Gap.
Carmona C — Google review
There are two small lots and the first one was just about full when I arrived on a Wednesday morning around 9AM. There are no restrooms, so be sure to stop somewhere before you park. The loop (going up the Appalachian Trail and down Lake Road) was ok. Like another reviewer mentioned, you don’t need to go all the way to the summit if you’re only in it for the views. The lookout point on the Appalachian Trail side had the best views of the trail (called Council Rock); the summit’s view is mostly obstructed by trees. But, the trail itself is mostly covered by trees too so they provide nice shade from the sun and protection from unexpected rain. Overall, I think this is a great hike for beginners. My tracker said it came in around 5 miles total and just over 1,000 feet of elevation gained. I was a bit winded after Council Rock even though I hike several times a week, but the rest of the hike is very easy.

Mt Minsi

4.7
(73)
Mountain peak
Mt Minsi is a 1,461-ft. mountain located in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, offering a hiking path on the Appalachian Trail and an overlook at the summit. Hikers on the Appalachian Trail spend 28 miles within this area, passing through Mount Tammany and Mount Minsi. The trail provides stunning views of the Delaware River, Mount Tammany, and the Appalachian Mountains. It takes about 2-2.30 hours to complete and is of moderate difficulty.
Great 2 hour loop with 1000ft elevation gain! Nice views of Delaware River and Mount Tammany at the summit. The part of the hike that surrounds you in native rhododendrons for a few hundred yards is really nice and green all year round. Parking can be difficult on the weekends so you might just have to park on the residential streets across from the trailhead parking. Pretty heavily trafficked on the trail in weekends but far less than Tammany across the river…
Rick T — Google review
Fantastic Hiking spot. The parking by the Appalachian Trail + Lenape Lake only has about 12 parking spots. I went at 1pm on a Monday afternoon and half the spots were still open. It took me exactly 2 hours from the start to the top of Mount Minsi. Then 1hr and 15min to get back. I took the same path up and down instead of doing the loop. It was still 4.5 miles and took a little over 3 hours round trip to complete. It was a really enjoyable trail, lots of rocks which would would make the hike extremely dangerous. There's also some pretty steep sections of rock steps. Like going up 10-20 flights of stairs in some sections. Be prepared for rugged, rocky Terrain.
Joseph C — Google review
### Solo Trekking Mt. Minsi & Lessons from the Trail. ### Just completed another rocky terrain trek—this time at Mt. Minsi, and it was a truly rewarding experience. Nestled in the Delaware Water Gap, Mt. Minsi lies on the Pennsylvania side, directly across from Mt. Tammany, which marked my very first trekking adventure on the New Jersey side. Compared to Mt. Tammany, Mt. Minsi is less rugged, with a gradual elevation gain that makes it an excellent choice for beginners. ###Gear Tip### The trail features rocky terrain and steep sections, so I highly recommend wearing hiking boots (not just trail or walking shoes) and using trekking poles for added support and stability. --- ### Parking Tips### Parking is limited and tends to fill up quickly: - The main lot accommodates approximately 25 cars. - A secondary lot nearby offers space for about 10 more vehicles. - There are no restrooms at the trailhead, so it's best to stop at the Welcome Center beforehand if needed. ###Trail Etiquette Reminder### One valuable lesson: never cut off or disrupt the momentum of hikers going uphill. Uphill trekkers often rely on rhythm and pacing—respecting that makes the trail better for everyone.

Many trees, little species diversity yet charming, rhododendron canopied path sections were excellent, great sense of community with other walkers- 1.5 hr jaunt with spurts of jogging recommended.
Isla D — Google review
Great hike with great views! Definitely a moderate to difficult level hike as there were some steep rocks. Would recommend for ages 10+. Bring lots of water and snacks to refuel and recharge. Easily spent 3 hours on the mountain. Parking is LIMITED (2 small lots with maybe 10 spots each) so get there before 9am or carpool to reduce the amount of cars.
Kristin F — Google review
Awesome hike. Steep rocky inclines. Beautiful views when you get to the overlooks. Highly recommend good hiking boots. Many rocky areas stay wet due to the humidity. Plus it’s part of the Appalachian trail!

Mt. Minsi trail - you get a great view on Mt Tammy and the river. The trail offers a great work out to go up. Some section is muddy and you need to step on the stones to go through the brook. But it's very beautiful scenery along the trail. I would rate this trail higher than Pulip Rock and Pinnacle Look. You can use the following coordinates to get to the parking lot.40°58'47.1"N 75°08'31.9"W. Go there early though. After your hiking, if you want more, you can go to 611 South to see the overlook: Resort Point overlook, point of gaps overlook and arrow island overlook.

An amazing natural site - that should be climbed if able. If not -a great pull over spot to enjoy the beauty for a spell

Overlook was overgrown given time of year we couldn't see anything. That said, going higher than the overlook, like top of Mt. Minsi, gives you outstanding views of Arrow Island and more.
John K — Google review
Probably my least favorite of the 3 overlook sites on the PA side of the river, but it still has some great views of Mt. Tammany. The best part about this overlook is that you can see a lot of hawk activity around the summit, especially if you brought binoculars. When I went (early spring), the overgrowth below blocked my view of the Delaware and Arrow Island, but there was a good amount of animal activity there too, so it’s all for the best. Would recommend going to Point of the Gap Overlook if you can only stop at one, but they’re so close you might as well drive a bit further and decide for yourself which is better!
Ben R — Google review
It's difficult to see anything during spring or summer due to the trees blocking the view. There's no point in stopping here.
Rice L — Google review
The slope below the overlook has so much [possibly Ailanthus] trees that you cannot see the river or Arrow Island from the overlook. Not worth a stop.
Richard Y — Google review
Straight up, it's literally just trees. That's all you can see. I'm told there is an island behind the trees, but I cannot confirm nor deny that.

This place is great. The owners/staff are ALL friendly and sincere. Rob in the restaurant is genuinely a great person who has much respect for his work and customers. I sound like AI...but it's all true. Oh, and the music is face-melting awesomeness.

Food was great. The ambience amazing. Great place to catch some live music. At first I thought the service was on the slower side but what they do is space it out after you order drinks and appetizers so you can relax and listen to the music... I thought this was a great idea and the service paced the music. Love this place. Historical and cool. DEFINITELY will be back

We spent 3 nights at the Deer Head Inn in May. Overall, we had a lovely and unique experience. I don't think there are many places like the Deer Head that still exist. It's the oldest continuously operated Jazz Club in the state and the music we saw was excellent. The dining space is small and looks like it's from another era. The food was excellent both nights we ate there and there are interesting cocktails (try the Hot House). You have the table for the night, which was nice. We didn't feel rushed through our dinner and really had time to appreciate the show. The restaurant and jazz is an easy 5 stars. The Inn opened in the mid-1800s. Rooms have been updated since then and are spacious. We stayed in one of the Suite rooms, which has a pull out couch and easily slept three adults. The room was very clean. The mattresses left something to be desired. They were both uncomfortable and squeaky. The bed room AC also didn't keep the bedroom cool if the door to the living area was shut. Our weather was in the low 70s, so I worry about how warm it would have been in true summer. I would stay there again, but more because of the excellent entertainment and proximity to hiking than anything else. I hope the Deer Head Inn stays in business for a long time. It feels like a throwback to a time that just doesn't exist anymore.

You won’t find better people than those at Deers Head Inn. It seems to be the hub for the whole town, and it has that small town feel that’s rare to find nowadays. We rolled up on a major holiday late at night after a rental car mishap and they welcomed us with open arms. One of the customers at the bar showed us to our room because she knew the whole building like it was her own. When we realized we forgot our toothpaste, the bartender June gave us her personal tube from her purse. The owner, who served a very lovely breakfast the next morning, is just an absolute pleasure to chat with and can tell you all about the inn’s 200+ years of history. This Inn has exactly the kind of cozy small town feeling that seems to be disappearing everywhere else. Stay a night or a few, you won’t regret it!

Really wanted to go here for dinner. Arrived at 5:48pm. Was told they would serve us dinner but if we stayed beyond 7:15pm it would be $20 cover per person because live music started at 7pm. Didn’t want to be rushed and didn’t want to spend $20 per person.
