Shopping mall
Shopping
Wernhil Park is one of Windhoek's main shopping centers, offering a wide range of shops from trendy boutiques featuring Namibian designers to popular South African brands. The modern architecture and clean, spacious layout create an inviting atmosphere for visitors. Competitive pricing and the availability of international labels make it a shopper's delight. With almost all stores conveniently located in one place, Wernhil Park provides a convenient and efficient shopping experience for locals and tourists alike.
It was a blast from the past to step into a Woolies as in UK Woolworth have shut down; Woolworth in Luton, England hired me when I could legally work at age 14 for 6 hours; I took care of the Gardening section every Saturday until I turned 18 and could work full day Saturdays when I moved to a shoe store!! Whilst staff were not always available to answer questions at this location, I found what I needed with ease and was happy to purchase and exit with glee!!

Of all the malls in windhoek this one is definitely the most chaotic and least safe. As a white person it saddens me that every time I go here I'm approached at least five times by people asking for money. Not my wife who is black but they go straight to me and ignore everyone around me
Paul S — Google review
Visitors appreciate the spacious layout and modern design, even noting that Wi-Fi access can be spotty though shops often offer connectivity via their own systems Major retail variety: From groceries and fashion to electronics and health services—available all under one roof Well-maintained and clean environment, both inside the mall and within supermarket areas like Checkers and Pick n Pay Convenient central location with excellent access by car, taxi, or on foot Professional amenities: safe parking, dedicated services, medical centre, pharmacies, and family-friendly facilities
Weligo K — Google review
It’s not exactly bustling, but it’s a mall with a variety of shops. During my trip to Namibia, the mornings turned out to be colder than I expected, and while camping I nearly caught a cold, so I stopped by to buy a blanket. If I hadn’t gotten one here, I might have frozen to death! It really saved me.
Wa N — Google review
Wernhill Shopping Mall in Windhoek is big and has a lot of shops, which is great, but the parking payment is cash only and only accepts small bills – super annoying! We even had to ask random people to change our bills just to pay. Aside from that, the mall itself is nice, clean, and has a good variety of stores.
Georgia C — Google review
Great mall, but also the most busy in Windhoek. Don't go here during rush hour traffic or lunch if time is not on your side》
Grant K — Google review
Safety and security of people visiting the mall does not seem a high priority.
Conrad S — Google review
This is the 3rd biggest shopping malls in Windhoek and it is located in the city center, easily accessible. They sell all different types of products such as food, fruits, clothes, electronics and so forth. This mall is very clean but since its in the city center it tend to be a bit crowded, especially month end you should be prepared to be in long queues. There are parkings and also a taxi rank.

Zoo Park, located in Windhoek, is a green area within the city that features a pond, playground and obelisk dedicated to German colonial history. It's an ideal spot for relaxation and taking a break from daily routines. We highly recommend everyone in Windhoek to make time for visiting Zoo Park.
Nice chilling spot here but it needs a slight improvement on cleanliness
Frans N — Google review
Wonderfull park, although the little pond or stream of running water has been shut down. The public restrooms are in need of a very big upgrade. Above all else, pleasant experience!!!
Rhino B — Google review
A nice park in the city center but with high safety concerns. I visited in the late afternoon and as a female solo traveller, it was not a comfortable place to be. Tried to stay as much as I can to enjoy it, but always felt safer closer to Independence Avenue, could not go inside. Lots of teenagers and male youngesters drinking beer and wine, also smelt weeds. You can spot some birds there.
Merham K — Google review
It was good to see the park but only walked through because I could see empty beer bottles and smell urine. Great idea, great location, great old tree but probably not the best place to hang out in Windhoek.
Magneticaims — Google review
Safe to sit, relax during the day. There is a Portuguese restaurant for refreshments. You also get photographers in the park.
Bigboy B — Google review
A calm and peaceful park located in the center of Windhoek. Children play here while people relax on the lawns. On my first day in Windhoek, I took it easy at the café inside the park. Since you pass by often while walking around the city, next time I might grab a sandwich and enjoy it while relaxing on the grass.

Wish we can do something about the drugs that are being sold and distributed right in front of everyone..being used as if its legal or something that's supposed to be done..this is not "ZOO PARK"..atleast not the one I know..it hurts to see that our people can turn a place once so beautiful and green into a dull, rough lifeless area filled with drug addicts and drug dealers... Idk..but if there's anything i can do to turn this place into what it was then please just let me know..

Christuskirche, also known as Christ Church, is a historic German Lutheran church located in Windhoek, Namibia. It is a prominent landmark and symbol of the city, featuring a distinctive design that combines neo-Gothic and art nouveau styles. The church was constructed from local sandstone and completed in 1910, with its unique architecture making it the oldest Lutheran church in Namibia.
The place is nice and a fantastic destination for tourists also there is a museum Infront of the church peoples can visit 2 things in 1 scadule. The place is save to walk as well.

Beautiful old building. Very clean and well-kept gardens. Especially beautiful at sunset when the sun reflects off the stone walls. It's definitely worth a visit to take some nice pictures or to join a tour of the property, where very insightful information and history are shared with tourists. The Church is not open for tours every day, so be sure to double-check if you want to visit specific to attemd the tour.

Unfortunately the building is not open on alternative week days so we could not enter on a Wednesday. Very neat and well maintained. The site is a tourist trap and the pushy informal vendors will be happy to fleece you. It is located adjacent to the Independence museum and a rather sorry looking National museum of Namibia.
Paul B — Google review
Christuskirche is one of the most iconic landmarks of Windhoek, standing proudly in the heart of the city. Built in the early 20th century during the German colonial period, the church’s architecture is a striking blend of Gothic and Neo-Romanesque elements. Its reddish sandstone walls, white decorative details, and tall pointed steeple make it impossible to miss for anyone visiting the capital. More than just a religious site, Christuskirche reflects the multicultural history of Windhoek. Its central location, surrounded by the Parliament Gardens and government buildings, creates a historic square-like atmosphere where visitors often gather to admire the scenery, take photos, and learn about Namibia’s past. Inside, the church offers a peaceful and spiritual atmosphere, highlighted by beautiful stained-glass windows and a simple yet elegant interior design. Today, it serves both as a place of worship and as a popular tourist attraction, welcoming thousands of visitors each year. Christuskirche is therefore not only a church but also a cultural and historical treasure. With its architectural grace and deep historical significance, it perfectly captures the spirit of Windhoek and remains a must-see for anyone exploring Namibia’s capital.

Historic gem perched in the city. Christ Church is situated in an area concentrated with other popular tourist attractions such as Independence Memorial Museum and Tintenpalast. I have never been inside, however lovely to admire from the outside. It is kind of in the middle of the road allowing one to admire it from different angles.

Gorgeous! The gentleman that was at the church greeting guests was lovely and fluent in English, Afrikaans and German. Very courteous. The church is magnificent and very well cared for. I was sightseeing alone and felt very comfortable when arriving. The guys guarding the cars and selling there crafts were very helping in directing me to other tourist spots in walking distance.

Nice place to visit. The Church of Christ in Windhoek (German: Christuskirche in Windhoek) is an Evangelical-Augsburg church located in Windhoek, designed in the neo-Romanesque style by Gottlieb Redecker, consecrated in 1910, one of the main symbols of the town. It belongs to the German-speaking Evangelical Lutheran Church in Namibia. In the evening a church was closed.

It's a good place to visit to know the independence history of Namibia. The history starts all the way from early 1900s into the modern era. Has some unique emblems and badges. Most of the history is told through paintings. The view from the restraunt is pretty good.

Very vivid and educational experience at this museum. Loved the statue of their founding President at the entrance to the location. It set a good tone for what's contained in the building.

We visited the Independence Museum on a Sunday and unfortunately, it was closed. However, what made up for it was the Windhoek Sky Restaurant on the 4th floor of this beautiful monument, which afforded 360 degree views of Windhoek City in style and elegance. The restaurant is really breathing and unfortunately, we couldn't have food there as our itinerary was tight and only had drinks from such wonderful and professional waiters.

The National Independence Museum in Namibia is an essential stop for anyone interested in delving deep into the country’s rich history and the journey towards independence. From its modest exterior, the museum unfolds into a treasure trove of artifacts, documents, and interactive exhibits that paint a vivid picture of Namibia’s struggle for freedom and its post-independence development. Upon entering, visitors are greeted by knowledgeable staff who provide insightful introductions to the exhibits and are eager to answer any questions. The museum’s layout is intuitive, guiding guests through chronological displays that cover key events leading up to Namibia’s independence in 1990. The exhibits are thoughtfully curated, showcasing the resilience and determination of the Namibian people in their quest for self-determination. From poignant photographs capturing pivotal moments in history to personal testimonies from freedom fighters, each display offers a compelling narrative that educates and inspires. One highlight is the replica of the United Nations Security Council chamber, where visitors can learn about the international efforts to end apartheid in Namibia. Another standout feature is the section dedicated to post-independence development, which provides insight into the challenges and successes of building a new nation. Interactive elements, such as multimedia presentations and touch-screen displays, engage visitors of all ages and learning styles, making the museum experience both informative and enjoyable. Additionally, the museum regularly hosts events, lectures, and temporary exhibitions that further enrich the visitor experience. Overall, the National Independence Museum is a must-visit destination for anyone seeking to deepen their understanding of Namibia’s past, present, and future. It serves as a testament to the enduring spirit of the Namibian people and their unwavering commitment to freedom and progress.

The museum illustrates the narrative of Namibia during the colonial era, the struggles for liberation, and life after independence. It is free to visit this museum and it was great navigating from one floor to another. The panorama chamber was absolutely exquisite. On top of the building, there's a restaurant with a great view of the city where you can take splendid photos of Windhoek's metropolis.

If you are looking for the perfect souvenir at an excellent price (sometimes even cheaper than what you get bargaining on the street), then this is the place for you. They have a great selection, you do not feel pressured to buy anything and they have a great local restaurant upstairs... And food is also great! Can really recommend this place.

The Namibia Craft Centre is a great place to find souvenirs and gifts for your loved ones back home. It is located in the heart of Windhoek, making it very easy to find and they offer safe off-street parking, which is a huge convenience in a bustling city. One of the standout features is the massive variety of items they have available. Whether you're on a budget or looking to splurge, you'll find something here. From beautiful handmade crafts to superb artworks, the range of products is impressive. Another major plus was that they accepted Visa cards (not sure about the other card providers) as payment during my visit. This convenience definitely added to the overall positive experience. There is also an on-site café, which is perfect for a quick coffee break or grabbing something light to eat. To top it all off, the staff were very friendly and helpful as well. Overall, I had a great experience at the Namibia Craft Centre and would definitely recommend it to others. It is a must-visit location if you are looking for gifts in Windhoek to take home.

Lively place with affordable kapana. Some kapana guys are rude but some are really nice and welcoming. Eat your kapana whilst it’s still hot and you can get your sauce and kambolotos at the memes inside. If you want to avoid the crowds during the weekend, go early.

Vibrant place, but couldn't spend much time there. Kapana with salsa and vetkoek was amazing. The surroundings is a bit chaotic, but parking was not as difficult as I expected.
Unnikrishnan — Google review
Wow this place was amazing if you are foodie and have open spirit. We came with a tour and our guide helped us navigating there and trying the kapana, bread and vinagrete. We ordered a spice, red dried peppers and berries bags to go. I wish I had bought the flour for the Mieliepap as we tried on a restaurant and it was delicious. Just amazing experience, the kapana was really delicious I wish we had ordered more. Would definitely come back alone as tourist and would highly recommend trying this place if you are adventurer!!!! Going first time with a local was fundamental for feeling welcomed. Seeing the fresh meat, the cow was just killed one the same day and prepared right away and tasting it made me think how bad our beef from grocery stores from USA are. Try the kapana for sure and try the red meat anywhere in Namibia it's delicious.

Mugg & Bean is a contemporary café chain that has become a beloved gathering spot for families, especially during breakfast hours. With its inviting atmosphere characterized by large cake displays and the lively buzz of conversation, it’s the perfect place to unwind with a cup of coffee while people-watching. Often found in malls, Mugg & Bean serves as an ideal pit stop for shoppers looking to recharge with hearty classics like gourmet burgers and sandwiches.
The place to go for a big breakfast or brunch. The store is located inside the mall and it has an outside area. The variety of choices is great and everything we tried we enjoyed. The deserts looked absolutely amazing. We liked it so much that we went multiple times to get breakfast.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had such a wonderful experience at this restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious ,full of flavor, beautifully presented, and clearly made with care. Every dish we tried was a hit! What made it even better was the pricing ,super reasonable for the quality you get. It’s rare to find a place that offers both great taste and great value, but this one definitely does. The atmosphere was another highlight. The space is warm, inviting, and just has this relaxing vibe that makes you want to stay longer. Whether you’re going for a casual meal or something a bit more special, it’s perfect. I’d highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for amazing food, fair prices, and a lovely ambiance. Service is seriously slow. An omelette took around 30 minutes. Everyone is taking their time. Even baker doesn't really care about the section. Chef didn't even manage the do an omelette properly. Instead of adding the ingredients into the omelette while still cooking, it was just stuffed into folded egg package and sprinkled on the top. It was all falling apart. Not mentioning the ingredients were cut into rather big chunks.

First thought, I was not Wowwed! This place gots so much potential. It's ideally located in the city centre for a quick bite or drink. We had breakfast. Service was fairy swift. Was not busy at all. They even have outside seating, but the morning sun is not ideal for it. Bathrooms were clean. They didn't even butter for the toast 🙄 which is pathetic considering the retail shops close to them in the mal. My omelette was cold, had to reheat it. Items in the menu is affordable.

Good service, but please make sure you have the things on the menu it’s annoying when someone wants something but it’s not on the menu. But the service was good and I loved the food and the outside view

Sushi restaurant
Daisho Sushi & Wine Bar is a new and popular addition to Windhoek's dining scene. Despite being relatively young, the restaurant boasts Chef Makhosi Mhlanga's extensive sushi-making expertise, offering fast service and exquisitely crafted food with fresh ingredients. The well-priced wine list complements the dining experience.
Very good quality and amazing service. On the expensive side, but perfect for a special occasion. And quality is worth what you pay.

It was really nice, the food was delicious and the waiting staff was friendly. The spring rolls however, were good, but the portion was honestly too small for the price. Atmosphere was really nice too, even when it was busy it didn't feel overwhelming.

Sushi is very good. The buffet is quite expensive N$350 pp 2025. It's not at a seating bar, and the food goes around. You need to stand up and wait on lines every time, people get frustrated, and that kills the atmosphere. At one point, they ran out, and you need to wait so long for new sushi. It gets very crowded. The most disappointing thing was that they didn't do a lot of different sushi options. So, I got the same over and over. And no dessert like little chocolate rolls are served. Drinks are very expensive as well. They charge N$30 for hot water with honey. So it's good sushi, but I don't think it's worth the while. It was very cold outside, and they gave blankets out that were clean. That was nice. Do they platter instead. More worth your money. You NEED to make reservations beforehand for a buffet, especially evenings.

Chatted to the WhatsApp order line and was prompted to use tap a meal. The food delivered (if you're willing to wait 2.5 hours for 4 salmon roses and a small prawn and avo salad) was good quality but I'm not sure who wants to spend 300 NAD and have to eat sushi and salad with your hands because no chopsticks or serviettes arrived despite the wait. Maybe change who delivers your quality food and maybe make sure to pay attention to detail when it comes to takeaway bag must-haves. Sadly a disappointing experience overall.

Quality of sushi - just wow! We loved each piece of our sushi platter ♥️ undeniably one of our BEST sushi we ever had! Service was kind and helpful. They made my birthday feel even more special 🥰 One small detail which might have made the evening even nicer is the music. Overall highly recommend when you’re in Windhoek!🫶

Daisho has one of the best chicken stir fry noodles, I love love. We had the tempura platter as well, my date loved it.
