Nature & Parks
Las Animas Beach is a picturesque sandy stretch with calm waves, making it a popular spot for swimming and paragliding. The area is dotted with fish restaurants, offering a delightful dining experience overlooking the beach. This beautiful destination boasts fine white sand and clear waters, ideal for activities like diving and snorkeling. Visitors may even catch sight of dolphins or whales in the distance.
We came to the beach and had reserved seating and a free boat ride because of the El Coral Restaurant. The experience was amazing. I was expecting clear water but we did not see it. Perhaps there is a better time of year.

Beautiful beach if you’ve always dreamed of swimming with a side of boat fumes. The water and sand are stunning, but the vibe is wrecked by boat drivers storming the shore like it’s a live reenactment of D-Day. If you’d prefer not to eat diesel fumes with your piña colada, I’d skip this one and hit up one of the calmer, closer beaches instead
Andres S — Google review
Love the experience of taking the water taxi to Las Animas. The water is clear, and the sandy beach is great. But I will say, the vibe of the taxis coming in and out onshore does ruin the vibe a bit. You’ll have not so wonderful views of the many boats anchored there and some gas fumes…
Chris P — Google review
This beautiful private beach, accessible only by boat or water taxi from Boca de Tomatlán, is a true hidden gem. Its long, wide shoreline and exceptionally clean water make it a perfect spot to relax. After enjoying a delicious meal at one of the nearby restaurants, it’s the ideal place to unwind for the afternoon. Well worth the journey and the cost of the water taxi.
G W — Google review
What a beautiful beach, you can’t miss this spot when visiting Puerto Vallarta! You can take a boat taxi from Boca de Tomatlán or enjoy a 5 km hike to reach this amazing beach. Along the hike, you’ll pass a few other lovely beaches where you can stop and relax.
Yevhenii B — Google review
Great beach setting. The food was good but the service was not good
Barry B — Google review
This was the view, boats parked left and right.
Felix J — Google review
Visited during a tour with Groupo Naviero, which we stayed close to 3 hours. With very minimal food choices and one shop there just wasn’t much to do to be there that long. However there was construction going on for more businesses. Food and drinks were great, just overpriced. Dock was under construction so our tour boat loaded us into smaller boats that pulled up to the beach to jump out. All in all, probably won’t go back.

Playa Chica Locca Beach Club is a secluded and pristine beach club that offers a perfect escape with all the necessary amenities for a comfortable visit. The magical views of the water add to its serene ambiance, making it an ideal spot for relaxation. Guests can enjoy delicious food, outstanding drinks, and fabulous music while being attended to by accommodating staff. The club also offers boat cruises to a private island beach, ensuring an exceptional experience for visitors looking for a picturesque beach getaway.
Our family enjoyed the Playa Chica Locca tour and cannot say enough about our experience! The staff and Isaiah were incredible. The attention to every detail, customer service, cleanliness and especially entertainment was truly a gift...not to mention the whale and dolphin watching could not have been better. The waterfall via ATV is a must!! Can't wait to bring our family and friends again next year! Thank you everyone! They really do love their job.

Cant recommend enough. We booked a trip with Chica Locca to escape the bad food and beach conditions at our resort and it was so worth it. Crystal clear turquoise waters, delicious food, and attentive staff. We never had to get our own drinks, and everyone was friendly and helpful. Most staff is fluent in English and Spanish.

Great tour to Marietta Island! I usually get sea sick but the boat is big enough - I stayed on the main level and never had a problem. Saw many whales and dolphins! Bird watching was spectacular! the crew is super friendly and did all they could to make sure we enjoyed our trip!!!
Joline W — Google review
The perfect day!!!!! A very kind driver took us from Sayulita to the port where we joined with other and boarded the boat. There were only 15 of us and they said sometimes the boat takes many many more people so we had an amazing time with it all to ourselves and lots of crew very attentive to us. Always asking if we wanted more drinks, snacks, or water. It is January so we saw lots of whales on our way to their private beach sanctuary! Once we got there it was incredible, like we were in White Lotus but very small. We took the hike to the waterfall through a very tiny fishing town and saw lots of animals and nature along the way, crossing some small streams and an Indiana Jones bridge 😆 once we got to the falls, there is a beautiful swimming hole that you can jump into or just sit and enjoy drinks from the small bar. Everyone from Chica Locca was soooooo nice and constantly checking on us, offering us things, asking what kind of music we like, etc. Their sanctuary beach was AMAZING with only us, we paddle boarded, looked for shells, swam in the pool, and just had a great time. The crew were all so nice and fun. DEFINITELY take this trip to their private beach (we did not do the island tour) and feel pampered and have the perfect day. We didn’t worry about a single thing and it was so affordable for what you get. TIP THE STAFF!!!!!!!
Joia S — Google review
Don’t skip this incredible outing on your PV or Sayulita trip. It was by far our best day of our week long adventure. Plenty of drinks, snacks, snorkeling and great guacamole. The atv trip to the waterfall is a worthwhile bonus. Go through some isolated adorable little communities on the way to a waterfall/ cliff dive that has a little cantina right out there riverside in the middle of nowhere! Noah, Luis, Ricky and the crew of the ship were friendly, over the top helpful, and made an atmosphere for a lot of fun. Muchos Gracias mi amigos!!!

Wonderful experience with Chica Locca tours for the All Inclusive Remote Beach Paradise tour!! We went while on my Bachelorette trip in PV and it was easily our favorite experience! From start to finish we were well taken care of by awesome staff. The boat ride from Puerto Mágico to the Beach Club was about an hour and included breakfast and an open bar- we even spotted some whales on the way! The Beach Club itself is GORGEOUS with wonderful facilities and spectacular scenery with the beach and jungle. It was a seamless fun and easy experience from start to finish if you are considering this tour I would highly recommend!!
Arianna V — Google review
We thoroughly enjoyed the tour, and the service was top-notch! Horseback riding to the falls is a must! The only suggestion for improvement would be to have a bit more interactive and engaging fun from the crew on the way there and back.
Alma R — Google review
Tour was awesome, staff was professional and super attentive, drinks were amazing, food was delicious, beach was more like a private resort, we saw whales and dolphins, trip to waterfalls was worthwhile, I would definitely recommend 👍🏼🫶🏼🇲🇽

Colomitos Beach is a small, secluded sandy bay surrounded by lush jungle. Visitors can enjoy the calm and clear sea, perfect for snorkeling and swimming. The beach is not usually crowded, providing a peaceful atmosphere to relax and take in the natural beauty. Accessible by water taxi or a challenging hike from Boca de Tomatlan, this hidden gem offers a kiosk selling refreshing coconut water and beer.
Beautiful location and all natural environment. The water is fun to ply in and easy to swim to shore. Restaurant and the dude selling fruit is a great touch.

Short but moderate hike to a small beautiful beach. There was a family offering drinks and snacks on the beach. Great snorkeling.
Scot B — Google review
Beautiful beach. The water is gorgeous and the hike to this beach is not difficult for anyone that's in decent shape. Probably my favourite of the 'hidden beaches'. The guy selling fruit and beer was not there when we visited in mid-January 2025, but we went fairly early in the morning and so he might have just not arrived yet.
Tifona J — Google review
A secluded, exclusive beach located at the southern end of Puerto Vallarta. Accessible only by a 30-minute water taxi ride or a trek through a lush jungle path.
R R — Google review
The 1.2 mile hike in took us about an hour. Bring water and wear shoes with good grip as there are a lot of sandy rocks that make it easy to slip.
Kat — Google review
Stunning little beach. We did the hike from Boca and it took about 45 mins. It was super hot and some parts were difficult but as soon as we saw the crystal clear blue water it was all worth it. We came ill prepared so were glad to see a family arrive by boat with fresh snacks and drinks.
Rosie M — Google review
The hike from Boca de Tomatlánwas difficult and fantastic but this beach was so full of inconsiderate boats just parked at the beach and so many water taxis coming in and out that it was difficult to even swim and felt very unsafe. Would recommend continuing the hike to the next beach.
Alan K — Google review
To access this beach for free you must hike to it. It’s a short but strenuous 2 mile round trip hike on AllTrails starting in Boca. You will start on a paved trail in front of some houses and wind through the jungle before reaching the beach. It’s quite steep in some areas but we did it in flip flops and were fine. There is daily parking in Boca for 100 pesos cash only. I heard this was an excellent snorkeling beach but unfortunately the day we went the water was extremely turbulent and the sky was covered. Still it was very fun to jump and dive under the rough waves! Definitely wasn’t crowded when we went. There’s a bar at this beach as well open to the public.

Majahuitas is a stunning destination with clear waters, mild waves, and lush greenery. It's perfect for diving and snorkeling, offering the chance to spot dolphins or whales in the marine realm. Chimo is a small town known for fishing and abundant activity, providing a break from city life. Pizota boasts moderate waves, a beautiful beach, rich vegetation, and diverse marine life for ultimate relaxation.
Enjoyed every moment spent at Majahuitas, including the boat ride there and back. A fun time from beginning to end for sure. Arriving there is magical. The natural setting is breathtaking and the tasteful decor adds to the experience while blending in with nature. The mature trees and plants that canopy the whole area are magical. So many areas where you can choose to be away from it all if you are able to stop dancing! All the DJs were awesome on our visit on February 15th. Specially the headliners at the end. Staff is great. They were always around when we need them. Drinks took a little bit of time but were good. The food was simple but good, with the exception of the French fries which were as hard and dry as wood sticks. They had a passion fruit salad dressing that was incredible. We ate around 5:15pm though and the beef and dessert were already gone. A relative booked our tables that were set with water, bottles of liquor, beer and tonic so I don’t know how much he spent. But the extra drinks ordered by everyone came up to $46 per person for 11 of us. Overall, I didn’t want the night to end!!! It was amazing!
Lilliam W — Google review
My group booked an excursion for the beach party on a Saturday. Pros: Nice private beach Ambiance and lights are nice when it gets dark outside Cons: Long boat ride to the beach. It's about a 45-minute boat ride. Length of time you're on the private island. You are dropped off around 2 pm, and the boat doesn't return until 10 pm. So that means you're stuck  unless  you  pay for a really expensive water taxi. The food and drinks are underwhelming and overpriced. They do not play a variety of music. The DJ only played techno as if there are not other generes of music. Book with your group.. If not your group will be seated at different tables and staff is not flexible with making accommodations. Customer service is not that great.
Vickey V — Google review
Beautiful place. Venue is incredible. Great music (amazing extended Rodriguez Jr live set.) Very good sound system. Terrible service. All inclusive ticket was definitely not worth it. We spent the first 2 hours trying to get a drink (along with countless other guests.) Then our service ended at 5:30? I’ve never seen anything so disorganized in my 20+ years of going out. Leaving the island felt like a humanitarian crisis. Poorly staged. Be prepared to wait 1hour plus to get off the island as you sit on a cold dock. This place has the potentional to be top notch music experience destination but falls short because of extremely poor management and operational issues. If there’s a good DJ booking this place is probably worth trying again, but would recommend arranging your own boat transportation and table rez. Do NOT buy an all inclusive ticket. Bad value.
Scott Z — Google review
The beach is really beautiful.. the staff was a hit and miss.. sometimes attentive sometimes not. The food is just okay. They also charged me $25 for a towel and it was one of those simple white shower towels… my all inclusive said a towel would be provided. The drinks were really good but weren’t consistent. I would still recommend but there’s also so many other options a.
Natalie M — Google review
Majahuitas Beach Club offers a breathtaking ambiance that undoubtedly sets the stage for a memorable experience. The picturesque surroundings create an idyllic atmosphere, perfect for relaxation and enjoyment. However, the service at Majahuitas leaves much to be desired, especially given the premium prices charged for bottles and food. Expectations for top-notch service were not met, with slow and poorly timed service throughout. A notable instance was when a bottle of champagne sat unopened at the table for 30 minutes, highlighting a lack of attentiveness. Regrettably, the food did not live up to the scenic setting. The guacamole, a seemingly simple dish, arrived with a concerning brown hue, signaling a lapse in quality and attention to detail. If you decide to visit Majahuitas Beach Club, it might be wise to temper expectations regarding the culinary offerings. Instead, consider it a spot for enjoying the DJ and soaking in the beautiful ambiance, as these aspects seem to be the standout features of this beachside venue.

We had the best time ever!! The atmosphere the vibe and the people! Just go! The service the staff provided the whole night was exceptional and exceeded all expectations. Had some questions before booking and communicated with Zasil via their WhatsApp channel. She was patient and a huge help and probably the main reason we went! 🙏 Use their transportation the boat ride there was great, however the boat ride back was an experience I've never had before, they know how to party!!

Great location accessible by boat. Food was great and really tasty! Beach very nice and lovely location. The only criticism was that there were no beach chairs

El Coral Restaurante & Bar is a delightful gem in Puerto Vallarta that promises an unforgettable dining experience. With its warm and inviting atmosphere, guests are greeted with genuine hospitality from the owner, who ensures your table is ready upon arrival. The menu features fresh daily catch at reasonable prices, catering to both seafood lovers and those seeking alternative options. Attentive service enhances the experience, with staff like Luis going above and beyond to meet your needs while communicating effortlessly in English.
Great spot to stop after a long hike to Las Animas beach. The food was amazing, well priced and you also get a beach chair and shade.

This was one of the best experiences of my life. Having a reserved table all day (11:00 AM to 4:30 PM) was amazing, and they even provide free boat rides to Las Animas if you’re dining with them. Our waiter, Luis, was fabulous and attentive—he was always there when we needed him, and he communicated seamlessly with our group in English. The only thing that could have improved the experience would be an all-inclusive option. Overall, it was absolutely awesome!

Every time we come to Puerto Vallarta we visit this restaurant. And the reason we do visit this restaurant is based on the owner, professionalism and management of this restaurant. Once you arrive he will greet you and have your table reserved for you. He will welcome you with open arms. Put that aside. He has the best food, best environment you would ever have asked for. The food is very delicious. The service is very fast and whatever you need they'll be there to accommodate you. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone visiting Puerto Vallarta, especially when the transportation with water taxi is provided for free as long as you contact the restaurant and let them know that you're coming. If I could provide more than five stars I would have done so. Puerto Vallarta 5:15 p.m. August 13

Ocean Grill Vallarta is a must-visit destination in Puerto Vallarta. The journey to the restaurant itself is an adventure, involving a taxi ride, water taxi, and a short hike or boat trip. Once there, you'll be treated to delicious food and great drinks. The grilled octopus al pastor comes highly recommended, as do the fresh guacamole and tuna appetizers. While it's primarily a seafood restaurant, vegetarians can enjoy options like the quinoa veggie burger.
March 22, 2025-had an amazing lunch at Ocean Grill in Boca de Tomatlán. You need to make reservations so a water taxi can come for you and it’s cash only but worth the dining experience!! I ate here with my husband and cousin and our experience could not have been any more perfect!! I have dined here multiple times and each time is nothing short of excellent. The staff, the atmosphere, the food and drinks- all incredible!
Sheri S — Google review
This was a fun experience travelling south of Puerto Vallarta to a little town to catch the Ocean Grill motor boat to get to the restaurant. The website makes a place look quite glamorous, but it is a little tired. However, the food was absolutely delicious. I had the jumbo shrimp and they were grand. The margaritas were super as well. The boat ride… Let’s just say that the little boat was quite full on the way back and I was glad to have had two delicious margaritas. By the way, be sure to find your way to the water closet, which is an experience in itself. It was a fun little place to have a great lunch with friends.

Excellent ambiance staff and food. The owner came by our table to say hi with his puppies. Short ribs, burger and catch of the day were all good. And unbelievably, a humpback whale gave a performance and breached 19 times for the lunch guests! Simply amazing!

Loved OG! An unforgettable experience from the very start. The pick-up at the pier and the boat ride are part of the charm. Upon arrival, the view of the beautiful Colomitos Beach takes your breath away — a hidden paradise. The food is absolutely delicious, made with fresh ingredients and full of flavor. Every dish was spot on. The atmosphere is relaxed and perfect for enjoying the setting and good company. The staff was incredibly kind and attentive, making the whole experience even better. Without a doubt, Ocean Grill is a must-visit spot in Puerto Vallarta. Highly recommended!
Eduardo C — Google review
A friend of ours found this place, so off we went. The restaurant is a 25 minute cab ride and 5 minute boat ride south of old PV. The cab ride cost about $20 USD, very affordable to what we're used to, and the boat ride is free if you're dining at Ocean Grill, which is open only for lunch. Once at the pier in Boca de Tomatlan, you jump into a small boat that takes you to the restaurant which is one cove over. The ride was smooth. We arrived 18 minutes past our 1pm reservation, but was warmly welcomed to our corner, oceanfront table. We didn't experience any problems with tardiness, which wasn't our fault anyway, as the first shuttle boat was full. ATMOSPHERE: The restaurant is built on a deck and into the cliff side. The onwer's huge dog greets guests with a friendly bark hello. There's an open-air grass hut and umbrella-protected seating, with killer views and calming ocean music. A relaxing lounge area with sofas look out onto the beautiful Pacific next door. The single, unisex toilet is up a flight of steps and totally outdoors. It's fairly private with foliage, and as long as you lower the parking lot-like "occupied" arm, that'll keep traffic down a few steps. Very cool, but difficult for those with walking disabilities. MENU: Salad, seafood apps, chicken, fish, burgers, lobster, octopus, ribs. They were out of lobster, scallops, and oysters for the 1pm seating. BEVERAGE: 2 in our party thoroughly enjoyed the green margaritas. FOOD: Shrimp Aguachile I've never eaten raw shrimp before, but it was surprisingly good, and not "shrimpy" tasting at all. A generous amount of shrimp were bathed in a green lime sauce that had a smooth, savory and tart flavor, mixed with cucumbers, and topped with red onions & cilantro. Very refreshing app to start with. Ocean Grill Guacamole Yummy, chunky, and creamy guac! The best yet we've had in PV. The chips were on the thicker side. Caesar Salad Whole baby romaine leaves were coated in a fairly good caesar dressing, sprinkled with soap box cheese (AKA Kraft,) and topped with croutons. Mainstream but good. Shrimp Wow, these 4 buggers were huge! Cooked perfectly in a light butter-garlic sauce with a slight hint of coconut. I'm not a coconut fan but could tolerate it in this dish. Highly recommended. Octopus The partial mollusca sported 3 fairly thick suction cup legs, over 3 small breakfast-style potatoes, topped with a kalamata olive tapenada, and a plate side drizzle of a tomato-pineapple-onion-like salsa. The texture of the octopus was good, tender yet slightly chewy, but overall had zero taste. I come from Hawaii where we make octopus in several different styles with tons of flavor. Not here. Pass. Ocean Grill BBQ Ribs My spouse's dish. The meat was super tender and fell off the bone, and was basted in a traditional BBQ sauce. Very mainstream but good. He opted for a side of fried plantains which I didn't try. DESSERT: We declined any after being told that all the desserts are from Costco sans for one item. Bleh. SERVICE: Our local male server was friendly but not all together there. He hardly checked on us, so my spouse's request for more BBQ sauce for his ribs wasn't met. Dishes got dropped off to the wrong person at the table, and he plainly didn't seem into being there. There as another male server or bus boy, who I think was American that was helping him out, was very friendly and professional. Another guy, I'm presuming who is the owner, checked on us during our apps session. TIPS: Children under 14 are not allowed, which is great for a relaxing experience, but could also be a safety issue due to the boat ride and access to the restaurant. Open for lunch only. Reservations via credit card are required. Not handicapped accessible. There are a lot of house rules, so check out the website before committing. No cell reception. OVERALL: It was almost a half day journey to eat here from where we stayed in PV. Cool restaurant with a great ambiance, okay food & service.

We hiked in which took longer than I expected (about 25 mins from Villa Buen Palo where there is a map posted). The trail winds back and forth a lot and the entrance is on the west side, pretty close to Colomitos beach. We were the only group at the 3pm seating, but everything was great! We had the tuna sashimi, chips and guac, shrimp, salmon, and octopus. The shrimp was the best in my opinion. We went to Colomitos beach afterward and caught a water taxi back to Boca.

Nature preserve
Vallarta Botanical Gardens AC is a sprawling nature park located 30km south of Puerto Vallarta, showcasing a diverse collection of native Mexican plants, including stunning orchids, bromeliads, agaves, and wild palms. Visitors can wander along paths lined with these beautiful flora and follow hummingbirds through fern grottoes. The garden also offers the opportunity to relax by the river amid huge boulders or take a refreshing swim.
We had a lovely time on the trails before the seasonal rains found us (July). The view of the restaurant is fantastic. Attached to the restaurant, there is a mini-museum of nature (someone gifted their collection) as well as a beautiful giftshop. You can commemorate someone by purchasing a tile. And there is a memorial garden and church on the property to highlight moments of our lives. Best keep the covered areas for when the sun is too strong or when the rain returns.

We purchased the guided tour and lunch package. It was my birthday and I was very excited to visit the gardens. Our driver was great and our guide was amazing. He explained the history of the gardens on the way up and on the tour through the gardens was EXTREMELY knowledgeable. His ability to know all the plants and their multiple names left me dumbfounded. The restaurant was wonderful as well. The food and view were simply incredible. (the chicken enchiladas were to die for!) Our guide told the waiters it was my birthday and they sang Happy Birthday, complete with violin! After, we walked around the adorable giftshop and explored on our own for about an hour. We did not visit the river due to the recent rains. NOTE: make sure you have bug spray, Off was the spray that worked for us.

We visited the Vallarta Botanical Gardens today for the first time, and it was absolutely breathtaking. The drive itself, about 45 minutes from Puerto Vallarta, was already part of the adventure, winding through lush green hills, ocean views, and even a few little roadside waterfalls. 💪🌞🚙✨ The gardens are stunning. Every corner bursts with life from towering trees to endless varieties of cacti and tropical flowers and a turtle friend. 🌴🌵🐢 This weekend happened to be Mariposa Butterfly Weekend, and we were lucky to see dozens of colorful butterflies fluttering around like nature’s confetti. 🌺🪻🦋🐞 We also hiked down to the stream, where we dipped our feet in the cool water, refreshing and peaceful, the perfect nature recharge. 🩵💦 Highly recommended for anyone visiting Puerto Vallarta! 🌺 Just bring water, some mosquito repellent, and your sense of wonder.

This is a gorgeous place and a must visit if you are in the Puerto Vallarta area. Their restaurant food is delicious, I loved their enchiladas and flan. It was ver special because of the view and the musicians playing while we had Lunch. Make sure to visit the chapel which is gorgeous too. Their driveways are made of rocks so consider that if you are bringing a baby/stroller. Finally the staff and personal was very kind. Don’t forget your repellent for the mosquitos

Overall we had a nice time at the gardens. I love that this used to be just a patch of land with nothing on it and through sheer donations and work the owners and community made it a beautiful place. We booked the shuttle that leaves zona romantica and takes you straight to the gardens, and comes with admission. It costs 1,200 mxn per person which seems a bit expensive but we were at least happy not having to negotiate taxi prices and the driver was very friendly and a great driver. The route takes about 45 mins and is on Mexican roads so if you get car sick on bumpy roads I recommend bringing gravol just on case. Also want to mention there is a taxi that usually hangs at the entrance of the gardens in case you are worried about finding a way back home from the gardens... but not sure how much they charge. We came on a super hot day in September so by the end of the four hours we were pretty depleted and ready to go home. We were happy that our driver let us sit on the AC's van while we waited for the other passengers. The nice part of this garden is that lots of things were in full bloom. There were a ton of butterflies which were beautiful and lovely orchids that smelt lovely. There was nice areas with turtles and tortoises and a beautiful koi pond. ... One of our main downsides was that this also meant there were the most amount of giant spiders I've ever seen. I think we were illprepared for the amount of giant spider webs we would have to avoid while walking through the various areas and paths. We tried to walk down to the river and once we had to go past our third giant spider web we decided to abandon mission and go back to the main trails haha. But if you are braver come ready to swim. We also tried some of the smaller hike loops but felt more like we were rushing out so we don't get eaten by spiders. Maybe this is just us being scardy-cats but just being honest 😅 We did have a really nice time at the restaurant and wish we had stayed there longer. We saw some amazing birds and humming birds from our table that overlooks the jungle area! Also want to note. I got so many mosquitoe bites after, even when applying bugspray multiple times. So be prepared for that or spray yourself more !

Great experience w the family. Very scenic drive to reach the Gardens. Everyone at the Garden is very friendly and helpful. The hikes vary in difficulty and terrain, and you can choose what fits you best The restaurant was AMAZING!! We are looking forward to coming back again soon Plenty of parking. You can pay admission upon arrival w Cash or Card

Beautiful grounds! Loved the wildlife there too- tortoises, peacocks, guinea hens, birds, butterflies, koi pond, and even saw a beautiful little garden snake! Friendly staff and the restaurant was lovely!

I love this place! The gallery offers such a wide variety of art, both functional & whimsical, in different artistic styles, mediums, sizes, & price range. I have visited here several times for the perfect unique, one of a kind gift & souvenirs & have left very pleased every time. The gallery takes no commissions & I love knowing that my purchases of local Mexican art supports the talented artists. The owner & staff have always been extremely welcoming & generous in sharing the beauty & knowledge of their local culture. The grounds are immaculately kept & the beautiful garden is well worth a few peaceful moments to wander through. The Morgan Santander Museum on the premises has no entrance fee, so we strolled through & were glad we did! I found the entire experience inspiring. Thank you to all the wonderful people at Galeria Coppelia!!! My family & I will never forget your generosity.

Maria was generous and knowledgeable about the artists/artwork in her gallery. She explained that she is solely a place for local artists to showcase their work and they’re fully compensated for their artwork. Maria makes her own pieces to be able to support the very cute facility—we purchased a small piece she made so that we could bring something back home to Canada on the plane with us. The piece we purchased will go towards the utilities. The location is perfect on the edge of downtown—a short jaunt along a dirt driveway. You’ll miss it if you second guess the map. Maria has a great heart and the community should feel proud to have her there. Very worth the visit.

Restaurant Valle Azul in El Tuito is a popular stop for travelers heading south. The mixed seafood ceviche is a must-try, and the service is known to be lovely. While the prices are reasonable and the food well-seasoned, there might be a wait during peak times as the owners cook everything themselves. The machaca and eggs dish is highly recommended, along with their pancakes for breakfast. Overall, it's a great choice for satisfying meals with friendly service in a central location.
Machaca and eggs so satisfying I had it two days in a row. I also like their pancakes. This is a wise breakfast choice.

Incredible! We stopped in to El Tuito on our way south and can’t wait to eat here again on our way back. We had the mixed seafood 🦞 🐟 🦐 ceviche. Yum! 😋 The service was lovely and attracts really friendly patrons too. There is also a little makeshift video arcade🕹 across the street, which was a delight.

Always a good place to eat, prices are reasonable and the service is good, sometimes if they are packed thr service does take too long. Owners are the ones cooking the food, everything well seasoned, I only wish they wouldn't put garlic on their hamburger meat patties. Too much.

The restaurant, La Hacienda de Oro, exceeded expectations with its stunning mountain views and refreshing atmosphere. The service provided was exceptional, surpassing that of upscale establishments in major cities such as New York, London, Paris, and Moscow. Notably, the food offered at this establishment was both fresh and delicious. Visitors are highly recommended to make a stop at this restaurant when visiting the botanical garden.
This is a must when visiting the botanical gardens. The view is phenomenal and the food wonderful; two things that hardly ever come together to equal a great experience!

You're going to thank me later for this one Folks! Like I've said before I don't leave a lot of reviews unless something is extraordinary one way or the other. We've been to every quote unquote nice place and Puerto Vallarta this one tops them all Chef inspired food without the chef inspired prices paired with some of the most beautiful serenic nature views I have seen in Mexico combined with unparalleled service and friendly staff. You can easily spend a couple hours wandering a free-flowing river hiking trails and or the thousands of beautiful flowers or simply come for a delicious and scenic meal... Enjoy but don't tell too many people you know about this place, I'd hate to come back and have to wait.

This restaurant has such lovely atmosphere with great servers! Sitting on the patio overlooking the gardens and river is such a beautiful view. The best part was seeing all the different beautiful birds flying around, and having atleast 4 hummingbirds coming up to the feeder was such a lovely sight. The brick oven nachos were so so good and the rustic avocado salad was even better!! Overall great vibes! Thank you Adrian for the great service and knowledgeable insights on the different birds!

Super hard to beat the serenity and calmness of this place! Food is good, but what is super awesome is the vibe, the service, people and the music! None of that up beat high bass city music! Live violin and piano… relaxing songs.. birds singing, if you seat on the balcony you can also enjoy a little breeze and the fade sound of water in the background! Can not possibly explain how relaxing this place was in words! There is a 300mxn entry fee for the gardens( totally worth it). The food was very fairly priced, nicely presented, good mix of drinks as well! Staff were super nice and helpful too! Make sure you pay attention to the million pieces of handmade tiles and other art prices as well! Cleanness: clean Seating: indoor and balcony Service: great Views: super awesome Noise level: rather quite and relaxing Food: good Price: fair Menu diversity: good mix of American and Mexican plus oven made pizza

Wonderful restaurant and bar at the top of the botanical gardens. The food is delicious and drinks are out of this world. Hummingbirds and beautiful hanging plants surround your every view. Really makes spending extra time here to view all the birds and plants a real treat.

Welcomed by their complimentary hibiscus iced tea... Relaxing view... Friendly staff that feels like a friend you have never met. Regarding the food I expected it to be overpriced and touristy... However it was made with real love. I had the Botanical Garden Salad and the Chocolate and Macadamia Cake with their organic local coffee. The Salad was super fresh with ingredients from the surrounding botanical garden accompanied with the Maracuja Vinaigrette which offered sweet savory deliciousness. The cake was a perfect combination of layered cake and cream. Smooth and not too sweet. The coffee was honestly somewhat weak but I got free refills which balanced it out.

What attracted us here was the botanical garden but what was really good was the restaurant. Beautiful view of the greenery and birds, nice breeze, big portion and good food. The restaurant's garden-like ambiance provides a refreshing escape from the sun, making it an inviting spot for lunch. Guests rave about the warm hospitality and efficient service from the staff, who go out of their way to make everyone feel at home.
We really loved this place! We sat at a table out front, but the courtyard inside is super festive and beautiful. We weren't super hungry so we just ordered Birria (a dark red stew with beef or goat $90pesos) and a couple margaritas. All was good and we had a very pleasant lunch looking at the pretty town square. Very friendly service! Cash only.

Charming restaurant with a lovely courtyard and lots of plants. The food was delicious. We had Meat on the Patio and Machacas. The tortillas were made fresh, portions were good, the price very reasonable and the service was also great. Highly recommend if you’re in El Tuito!

Very welcoming service. The food is traditional Mexican (look at the accompanying menu). However, my tortilla soup was MXP 20 more expensive than indicated on the menu. The statement of the owner was: Apologies but he had given us the wrong menu. The price was increased. He came with a different menu with different prices. I was allowed to pay the low price. I am not concerned with the money but it is a matter of principle. I had such an experience in other restaurants as well. Hopefully it was really a mistake of this restaurant. Lesson: always check your bill in every Mexican restaurant.!

I took the bus from Boca de Tomatlan to El Tuito for the first time last Monday, March 3, 2025, for 45 pesos. It's about 40 minutes into the mountains from the beach at Boca. I ate poblano pepper filled with Swiss cheese. The food was good and the service was prompt and friendly. The bad news: My Swiss army knife fell out of my pocket when I pulled my billfold out to pay. I didn't notice that until I returned back to my apartment in Boca. Well, it's Friday, same week, March 7th, and I felt like the honest, hard-working folks at El Patio de Mario, if they found my knife, would save it for me. My intuition paid off. As I entered the restaurant, I asked the young woman at the front if anyone had found a cuchillo rojo. She smiled a great big, beautiful smile, turned and stepped over to a cabinet, opened the top right door and produced my knife. I was elated, as much from finding such sweet, honest people as regaining my knife. I ordered camarones a la diabla, and specified "no demasiado más caliente. It wasn't hot at all. The diabla salsa contained pineapple, and it was especially delicious. Mario was the chef, and his wife, Annabel, was there. I read her the Edgar Allan Poe poem, "Annabel Lee" in Spanish before I hopped on the bus. What beautiful people.

Playa Corrales is a serene beach with small, gentle waves and a long stretch of fine sand, making it an ideal spot for families seeking tranquility. The famous lighthouse, built in 1901 by Don Porfirio Diaz, adds historical charm to the area. Meanwhile, Playa Yelapa offers moderate waves and a bustling atmosphere with restaurants, hotels, and shops catering to tourists. It's known for its scenic waterfall and paragliding opportunities from the hilltop.
(Translated by Google) I give 5 stars to the beach, and the natural landscape, but not to its people. They are not friendly at all, their beach is super mega dirty, most of the garbage is generated by fishermen, you find soft drink bottles, motor oil cans from their boats, and disused nets buried in the sand. We were camping for 2 days and we only saw a few tourists, maximum about 20, and they were only seen in passing. So far it is the smallest beach, with fewer inhabitants and fewer tourists, and the dirtiest I know. A little complicated to get there, it is 3 hours from Puerto Vallarta, the last hour before reaching the town is only dirt road. From then on everything else was fine, it seemed safe, quiet, no cell phone signal, total disconnection.

(Translated by Google) I liked the beach, some people from a restaurant treated us well, we asked them for coconuts, first they said they couldn't bring them down, then yes, they sold us coconuts, seafood toast and a shrimp cocktail. But the locals are soooo dirty, they don't teach the children not to dirty the beach. If they need to know that the sea is not a garbage dump, and that turtles are released on nearby beaches, it is urgent that they learn not to throw garbage on the beach. You can even make money from separated garbage but the truth is that they are ignorant. They should come to Mayto's turtle farm and learn.

(Translated by Google) Nice beach to swim, spend the day, dive or snorkel. It would help a lot if the locals had the town and the beach much cleaner and in good condition. (Original) Linda playa para bañar, pasar el día, bucear o hacer snorkel. Ayudaría mucho que los lugareños tuvieran el poblado y la playa mucho mas limpia y conversada en buenas condiciones.

(Translated by Google) Very beautiful place. But if necessary, go by van at least, because it is a gap and the bridges are damaged so you should think about it during the rainy season. To the residents... keep it clean, it is sad to see so much garbage near your homes. (Original) Muy hermoso lugar. Pero si es necesario acudan en camioneta mínimo, porque es brecha y los puentes están dañados para que le piensen en época de lluvias. A los pobladores... mantengan limpio, es triste ver tanta basura cerca de sus casas.

Live music bar
Nestled on the picturesque Isle Cuale, Babel Bar is a hidden gem that offers an unforgettable experience for visitors in Puerto Vallarta. This charming spot is perfect for those looking to unwind with delicious food and refreshing drinks, including their famous 90 peso margaritas. The atmosphere is incredibly laid-back, featuring seating right by the soothing sounds of the river and even hammocks for ultimate relaxation.
My boyfriend and I tried this restaurant out of convenience during our Puerto Vallarta vacation (and because I saw the 90 peso margarita sign) and I was very impressed! Not only were the cheap margaritas delicious, but they had decently priced, delicious food, as well! The environment was very relaxed and therapeutic, with seating right next to the river and hammocks you can lay in. We missed the live music, but apparently they have live music at certain times, too. I could have hung out here all day. I will definitely be back next time I'm in PV!

Such friendly staff and the service was good. The drinks we ordered were simple but they were good. Then we shared Chicken Nachos, So good by the way. The views are amazing. So peaceful and beautiful. The only thing I did not like was all the mosquitoes! Our waiter was kind enough to turn on the fan.

Great location on the river in a relaxing environment. Very good food and different seating areas including many hammocks. Great place to spend a lazy afternoon, eating food at the restaurant or drinking beer by the river. The owners opened a year ago and created a wonderful space.

Great little rustic bar playing Mexican inspired music daily Monday to Friday noon until 3 pm. Simple menu with Mexican fare, hamburgers, clubhouse. Full bar. Clean restrooms. Great servers.

[Update January 2024 I am so extremely sorry to report that this wonderful restaurant was closed because of COVID-19, and not reopened.] This is the most fabulous restaurant. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, and the food is excellent! I really enjoy their"green juice" with whatever breakfast I am eating! This is a picture from our table. The sound of the rushing river is marvelous!

Hands down, the best bar in Vallarta. Damon is a top-notch bartender, who can create customized drink for you. He’s also an amazing person, we spent two evenings talking and he gave us a lot of insights and local tips in regards to what to do in the area. The bar is beautiful itself too, located on a little island, it’s a truly magical place. Cannot wait to be back.

This is one of the most magical places nestled in the thick of the hullabaloo of Puerto Vallarta. You're surrounded by books, beautiful music on event nights, beautiful gnarled trees, hammocks, happy cats, some happy dogs, and the river. They also make a mean Bloody Mary randomly. The bartender was very kind in a wonderful conversationalist.
