A Great Local Shopping Experience at Al Hosn Market, Salalah
I recently visited Al Hosn Market in Salalah and really enjoyed the experience. It's a great place to explore if you're looking to get a feel for the local culture and traditional shopping vibe. The market has a wide variety of shops selling everything from frankincense, perfumes, souvenirs, to traditional Omani clothing and crafts.
The atmosphere is lively but not overwhelming, and the shopkeepers were generally friendly and welcoming. You can find some authentic and unique items here that you won’t get in regular malls.
It’s a great spot to pick up gifts or something traditional, and just walk around soaking in the local culture. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Salalah and want to experience more than just the usual tourist spots.
A good place to buy true South souvenirs and essence. Lots of shops are closed due to Covid 19 and expect a bit higher prices.
Old souq, you can find local handicrafts , dresses, few cafeterias. There is a tea shop, try their karak tea 👌🏻.
That market is so nice and not expensive all so that market is near in bech and that shop have lady's bags and many other items must be looking that shop thank you
Al Hafa Market is one of the most visited place in Salalah. This place is approximately 5-10 minutes drive from Salalah City centre. You can find local products. Tourist love this place to visit and buy some souvenirs back to their country. This place specially famous for Frankincense or Luban.

Nestled within an archaeological park, the Museum of the Frankincense Land stands as a captivating testament to Salalah's rich history and its deep-rooted connection to the frankincense trade. The “Frankincense Museum” (also known as the “Museums of the Land of Frankincense”) is a cultural gem located within the “Al Baleed Archaeological Park”, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Salalah, Oman.
This museum offers an immersive journey through the rich heritage and historical significance of the Dhofar region, highlighting its deep connections to the ancient frankincense trade.
I paid a nominal entrance fee of OMR 3 per person, which felt like a small price for the wealth of knowledge and history awaiting inside.
Within the museum, two distinct exhibition halls bring Oman’s maritime and historical legacy to life:
- The “MARITIME HALL” showcases intricately crafted wooden models of traditional Omani boats, alongside navigational instruments, boat-building tools, ancient amphorae (ceramic containers once used for storage), and other seafaring artifacts that illustrate Oman’s enduring maritime traditions.
- The “HISTORY HALL” houses a fascinating collection of historical artifacts excavated from the “Al Baleed Archaeological Site”, located next to museum in the same premises. Among the exhibits are pottery, metalwork, and detailed architectural models of some of Oman’s most revered sites, including the Tombs of Prophet Ayub, Prophet Hood, and Prophet Saleh, as well as the magnificent Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque. The hall also features beautiful, vividly illustrated manuscripts of the Holy Quran, along with poetic and linguistic texts that capture Oman’s scholarly and artistic legacy.
Perhaps the most remarkable piece in the collection is an authentic copy of the letter sent by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in the 8th century to the people of Oman. Written in Arabic and bearing the seal of the Prophet, this historic document stands as a testament to the region’s deep-rooted spiritual and historical connections.
The museum and archaeological park are must-visit attractions for tourists in Salalah. Conveniently located in the heart of the city, the site is easily accessible and offers an enriching experience for a nominal fee.

After you finish the 3 halls (about half an hour) you can go explore the remaining parts of the old town which include ruins of different mosques and a fortress\palace of the governor of the city.
Great little museum which you can cover in less than an hour. History of islamic and frankenscence shopping routes and ship building and navigation history. Very interesting.
A Must-Visit to Understand Salalah’s Heritage
I’m really glad I visited the Museum of the Frankincense Land—it’s a peaceful, well-curated spot that gives you a deep insight into Oman’s ancient trade history, especially the importance of frankincense in the region.
The exhibits are simple but informative, and the location right by the sea makes it even more special. You get to see old maps, artifacts, and even ancient scripts that tell the story of trade routes and civilizations that once thrived here.
It’s not overwhelming, which makes it perfect for both adults and kids. You leave with a much greater appreciation of Salalah’s cultural and historical importance.
Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area—it’s more than just a museum, it’s a journey into Oman’s past.
Great place to learn about Oman’s history the park has ancient ruins, a well organized museum, and nice walking areas by the lagoon. Very peaceful and worth visiting
So much history and information about the area. Not to be missed when visiting Salalah. Plenty of parking, facilities, shops, a small lake and as everything else, clean and well manned/maintained.
Frankincense, historical events, and the maritime museum are a must visit when visiting Salalah. Take your children along as there is so much to see and a lot more to learn.

The Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque in Salalah is beautifully built and a must see for Muslims in Salalah. The mosque is well maintained and clean. It is packed for Jummuah. Praying taraweeh is a beautiful thing here as well if you are here during Ramadan.
The biggest mosque in the city. Always open for prayer and closes after Eshaa prayer. The ladies hall is big and clean with toilets and places for ablution (وضوء).
There is also 2 internal screens that show inside the mosque, men hall, to women.
It’s well maintained and smells good due to incense all the time.

Salalah Central Market is a bustling open market in Dhofar governorate, catering to the needs of Salalah town and its neighboring areas. It offers a wide variety of fresh produce including vegetables, fruits, fish, meats, and dates. The market is closely monitored to ensure that goods are fresh and of high quality. Fresh meat and fish are available from 8:30 AM to 1 PM while fruits and vegetables can be found until 11 PM.
The central market is an excellent place to find locally-sourced good food at reasonable prices. Outside, you’ll find groups of people sitting at tables sipping tea and chatting. The fresh fish and seafood is varied and with exploring. There is a good fish and rice restaurant there, too, run by friendly Yemenis.

Best market in Salalah if you want to buy fresh fish or Eat bbq fish dishes very local and beautifully taste. Also if they sale fresh vegetables and fruits.
I have attached one of the best Resturant (called Muneer Resturant), excellent delicious fish dishes with amazing sea food soap in crazy cheap price. E.g a dish of mix of (oven king fish + oven medium prawn + oven Squid) + sea food soap ), he gives you additionally a nice plate of vegetables and dates.
All of the above for two person cost me only 6 OMR !!!!
Any other posh I restaurants easily 4-5 times costlier if not more.

It's a great place for families to visit during the khareef season, as it remains open until August 31 and provides an array of enjoyable activities.

One of the biggest and well maintained public parks I have seen. Any were else you will be charged to use such a park but not here. Lot of families coming and enjoying, kids playing football and boys playing basketball and Volleyball in there respectice courts.. You can see a lot of people enjoying there Job as the park one full circle is 1.5 km.. Highly recomemded for visit if you are arround this place..

It's quite pretty beautiful at the morning and also at evening... here is all decent people and there is a timing is properly maintained by the security guard at the gate. ( And there are also a few naughty disturbing human being that you should be aware of! Because those type of people are in everywhere, in every nation and in every possible city. ) But the place is cool.
And because of the timing given for the Public Park Chances are less for bad incident to happen.. And there are local Police everywhere around.

After an enriching five-day journey exploring the best of Salalah—from its vibrant city attractions to the breathtaking landscapes in both the east and west—we finally returned to Salalah International Airport to catch our flight back home. Though relatively small, the airport is impressively well-maintained, offering a few shops for last-minute souvenir purchases and a cozy coffee spot to unwind before departure. What stood out the most, however, was the warm hospitality—the staff’s politeness and genuine smiles made the farewell experience just as memorable as the trip itself.

Security and immigration were smooth ✅ and the airport staff were friendly and helpful 👨✈️👩✈️.
The terminal is well-maintained, air-conditioned ❄️, and offers a peaceful vibe 🌴🌤️ especially compared to larger airports.
🛍️ Not many shops or restaurants, but enough for a quick snack or souvenir 🍫☕🧣.
Wi-Fi was available and decent 💻📶.
🚗 BUT… the long-term parking is way too expensive! 💸💸💸
Leaving your car for a few days will cost more than expected, especially for travelers going on short trips 🚘⏳.
Would love to see more reasonable parking rates in the future 🙏.
Overall, it's a decent and calm airport ✈️🌿 but parking fees really need a rethink.
Salalah Airport is a really great and modern airport. The lounge is nice, with good food, and everything is very clean and spacious. Just note that they took my drone at the entrance because it wasn’t registered, so if you want to fly and capture beautiful shots, make sure to get a permit in advance.

Very disappointing experience. The food was below average in both taste and quality. For the high prices they charge, I expected much better. To make matters worse, the staff were extremely rude and treated me as if I was eating there for free. The service was unprofessional and unfriendly. Definitely not worth the money or the visit. We visited this Chinese restaurant and had a very disappointing experience. The staff was extremely rude and unprofessional. After waiting for a while, the food finally arrived—but it was cold and tasteless.
The fried rice was plain and lacked any flavor. The chilli chicken, which is supposed to be spicy, was the complete opposite—bland, cold, and had no salt or taste at all. We also ordered sweet and sour chicken, but it was just as bad: cold, flavorless, and the chicken quality was poor.
We had also ordered hot and sour soup, expecting it to be spicy and steaming hot. Instead, it was just lukewarm and very bland. It didn’t even taste like proper Chinese food—I honestly can’t explain how bad it was.
To make things worse, when we shared our concerns, the staff didn’t care at all and even argued with us. I would not recommend going back to this place. Terrible food and terrible service.
The soup was decent but the food was an atrocity. They charged 5 OMR for tasteless undercooked beef. Even after complaining to the waiter and counter person, no attention was given to the complaints, they acted as if they couldn’t care less about customers’ comments. Not even a verbal apology was given by the staff of management. When asked for a comments/review card, the management replied that they didn’t have anything of the sort. We paid a total of 15.4 Riyal for such a terrible experience, do not recommend at all.
Food is not good.A restaurant should not only serve good food, but also treat its customers with respect. Sadly, this place failed on both fronts. Definitely not going back, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.👎👎
worst food i have had in a long time the food was so bad that we were not able to eat it all and the Singaporean rice looked like they were made in morning and they just heated it and basic chowmein was not availaible and waiting time was alot about 30 to 40 minutes

Barbeque Nation Salalah is a top Indian cuisine restaurant with two locations in Salalah, Oman. The restaurant offers authentic and delicious food with adequate portions. Coming from Hyderabad I've huge love for Barbeque Nation. I went to this place on my birthday and believe the food was awesome.. their mutton sheep kebab and Hyderabadi roasted chicken masala are musr try.
Good restaurant with lotta seats.. food was good
Came here for dinner. Place is spacious and good for privacy, but there was too much noise from families in other rooms beside the noise coming from kitchen. You can hear the sound of silverware as being cleaned. Toilet was awful and doesn’t match such a well-known restaurant.

Delicious food. True to Omani culture, we find cubicles for families arranged to ensure privacy. Friendly service. The management must try to cook authentic Dum Biryani instead of serving Biryani Rice with Kebabs or Fried Chicken.
In whole of our Salalah trip this is the place I loved the food very much.
Some of the food are expensive but they are clean, the food is delicious and the service is great.

What a great experience. Although we are not staying at the hotel we decided to have dinner at Al Mina. What can I say, the service, the view and the food cannot be faulted. A must do experience if visiting Salalah. Next time we will definitely be staying at Al Baleed Resort Salalah!
We tried their sea food feast. Most dishes were made with squid and shrimps. The taste was ok perhaps it would be nice if they can add some semi gravy dishes along with these all dried dishes.

The attractions are mild in difficulty and it seems that there are more in plan to be built. Good although you aren’t allowed to bring snacks and they aren’t much things to do for adults. Also sometimes mud from the animal pens gets accumulated and mixed with water on staircases making a foul odour. Other than that it’s a good and small place to enjoy a sunny day

This was a nice experience, our tour guide recommend we check it out. Very well laid out store. It's a nice Turkish restaurant in Salalah, the menu is really diverse and rich. Food quality is good especially the grills. Shawarma is only available after 5pm. They offered us complementary Turkish tea which was a nice gesture of them. I would highly recommend it for those who are close to the area.

You only need about 5–10 minutes for the visit, but it’s worth stopping if you’re exploring the cultural and historical side of Salalah. Modest dress is advised, and it’s best visited during cooler parts of the day.

We visited in mid-June during the dry season, specifically to avoid crowds. We found it peaceful with just a few families and bachelor groups, alongside many camels and goats. While the scenery wasn't lush green, the sights were still impressive and a unique experience for kids.
Tip: If you prefer lush greenery and don't mind crowds, visit during the Khareef (monsoon, July-August). But if peace and exclusivity are your priority, and you're okay with some heat and less green scenery, the off-season is perfect. A 4x4 is recommended, and be sure to bring your own food and plenty of water.

During our recent visit to Ain Jarziz, the spring was dry, but the location was still worth seeing. Surrounded by lush greenery in the right season, this spot offers a peaceful escape into Salalah's natural beauty.

If you visit during rainy season of August, be sure to bring appropriate clothing or umbrella. Beautiful waterfall but does not run in August. Views are still beautiful. Area reachable by regular car. Mosquitos are there so bring appropriate solution for these. Seating and bar be que area available for non rainy season. Bring picnic foods if required. Public toilets also available.

From Salalah follow (Itin Street) north across the coastal plain and parking is available at the river bed. Their are two caves located the place and waterfall will only can be seen only after heavy rain. Unfortunately when we visited the river bed was dried and no waterfall. Road are clean and safe to drive in any car. Keep the place clean and don't throw trash around. Visit for free.
Highly recommend. This location on Google maps is not the exact location. It's a short drive away. It's a perfect location for kids and elderly. Swimming is not allowed but they have many benches under umbrellas for picnics. It's a great place to relax for a few hours. There are also toilet facilities.

Stopped in for a quick lunch. Nice clean atmosphere restaurant at Gardens Mall. Service was fast. Food was delicious (portions very generous). Lebanese food is the highlight but the menu also includes Italian pasta and Indian classic dishes.
The service was very slow. It took them ages for anything but more than that the food was very very poor in taste as well as quantity. No doubt it looked good and the ambience is great. But ultimately it comes down to the quality of food which I found mediocre at best
Situated within the Salalah Garden Mall, the Annabi restaurant offers a variety of Lebanese staples as well as local specialties. There's seating available in private rooms and outside. The service was fast and very friendly. We took the opportunity to try out their chicken skewers, fattoush and camel Mandi, the latter of which is a rare halal treat outside the Middle East. They were all delicious.

Excellent service and professionalism from Ashik, who served us during lunch/dinner multiple times last week. The restaurant offers a great selection of dishes from different cuisines, with very good food and attentive service. Some of the newer waitstaff are still in training, but overall the experience was excellent.
Highly recommend kafta kebab for everyone visiting the restaurant 👌

It's difficult in Salalah to find Omani food - generally Omanis eat their own cuisine at home. I believe Bin Ateeq was started by its founders to sell Omani cuisine and raise the standard of it. It was however our least favourite food we had while in Salalah and Dhofar region. The one highlight is the Lamb Shuwa - something I would genuinely go back for. Everything else was lacking flavour. Surroundings felt a bit run down so not super comfortable. Service was attentive and excellent from Indian staff member.

One of the biggest shopping malls in Salalah. It's well maintained & cleaned. Have enough parking with 2 floors of area. Easily can reach without any traffic. It has International brand outlets, food courts, play stations, coffee shops, Arabian ouds, lulu hypermarket and electronics mobile phones etc all under one roof.
It’s so amazing and it’s so big compared to Muscat Grand mall the roof top has restaurants and cafes and it gives an amazing vibe.

We really liked the new Salalah Grand Mall. Lots of fashion shops that aren't too expensive and have a good selection. We bought perfume from Kuwait from a nice, friendly lady, and each of us received a bottle of perfume as a gift.

It has several shops selling several items within the mall. They have a very nice and affordable play area for children. It's less crowded.

Salalah Gallery located near Nesto Hypermarket Al Saadah. Salalah Gallery Mall looks small from outside, however once you enter there are lot's of shops. There are lots of shops but all shops looks similar, means not much options. There is also kids playing area as well as there is a food court. Front car parking area always looks busy.
One of the first commercial malls in Salalah and the most important of which is suitable for purchasing gifts and souvenirs, especially Omani clothes and hats.

Place will be crowded and parking will be less during the evenings and specially the weekend and public holidays and during the Khareef season (South West Monsoon) from end of June to first week of the September

It’s very beautiful but we went during the day in Ramadan and it was absolutely dead, very hot, didn’t enjoy it. We found a coconut and there was empty grills so I think it could be very lively if you go at the right time.
It is a one of the good beach in Salalah area.Long walk area,white sand is very attractive in this beach.Every 20 minutes guards patrolling is very compulsory on this beach and they are using to movements for horses and very good views while horses running in beach and waves touching with their body. Al Baleed Archeological Park, located in Al Balid of Salalah, Oman, is a significant part of the Land of Frankincense World Heritage Site. The park features well-preserved ruins dating back to the 12th-century trading port of Zafar, which was a hub for frankincense trade with India. Visitors can explore the remnants of ancient mosques and take guided tours at the Al Baleed Museum to learn about the region's rich archaeological and maritime history.

Ther are also two museums. A maritime and a historic museum. There is also a gift shop, but it's a bit hidden.
You can walk around and read about the buildings and how people lived there.
Walking to the forth is about 10 minutes. Walking around the city and visiting everything takes about an hour. There is also an electric car service to go around which makes it faster and easier.
The ticket is OMR 3 for adults.

Nestled on the serene coast of Salalah, Oman, the Al Baleed Archaeological Park offers a portal into a time when ancient ships carried frankincense across the seas and traded stories with faraway lands. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this open-air museum once flourished as the port city of Zafar, a vital node in the fabled Incense Route.
We opted for a relaxing yet insightful ride through history aboard a golf cart—just OMR 1 per person.
Over the course of 4 to 5 kilometers, we traced the ancient city’s heartbeat, stopping at every key site to explore up close, snap photos, and feel the quiet weight of centuries gone by.
Our first stop: the “Grand Mosque ruins”, where towering stone remnants hinted at spiritual gatherings from centuries past.
Next, we drifted beside the “Ancient City Walls”, once formidable defenses that now embrace the park in solemn dignity.
The “Al Baleed Fort” or Palace ruins, stood nearby—its weathered stones and sprawling layout evoking images of sultans and seaside strategy.
At the “Lagoon” the desert met the shimmer of water, inviting a moment of stillness and reflection. And finally, we wandered through the “Museum of the Frankincense Land”, where ancient coins, ship models, and trade artifacts painted a vivid picture of life in Zafar’s golden age.
I managed to capture some photos and videos during our visit—frozen frames of time I’d be thrilled to share.
Each site has its own tale.
History buffs, plan for 2-3 hours (excluding the museum) to soak in the rich heritage and stories of the region.
Large excavations. Very rudimentary at this stage. Poor security so you can walk all over the excavated walls and rocks and cause them to crume. I only visited as the visit was free along with the frankincense museum entry. You can take a golf cart along the path instead of walking if the day is hot. Nice beach immediately behind to walk along after your visit. No swimming allowed though.
A Beautiful Blend of History and Nature
Al Baleed Archaeological Park is one of those places that truly surprise you. It’s peaceful, well-maintained, and gives you a real sense of Oman’s rich history, especially around the ancient frankincense trade.
Walking through the ruins with the sea breeze in the background feels magical. The museum inside is excellent—simple yet full of fascinating artifacts and stories. You don’t need to be a history buff to enjoy it—it’s just a relaxing and interesting place to explore.
Highly recommended if you’re in Salalah. It’s a hidden gem that more people should know about!
Pretty large to walk through the outside exposition - be prepared for it. Indoor part of the museum is very interesting and will give you a lot of information about the history of Oman. I was surprised it was basically empty on Sunday (in January).

Absolutely stunning place to visit. The place is really huge and there was no way we were going to walk all this distance by foot. We took the bigger (1Rial per adult, kids free) and had a leisurely tour of the ruins. Didn’t read much as it was getting late and dard. Maybe, next time!

Decent food but very bad service. Ordered a mashwi family and asked if the mashed potatoes will come with gravy and waiter said yes. Order came after waiting for so long and the place wasn’t even that busy and the mashed potatoes don’t have gravy. Asked for the gravy and they still refused to give. Spoke to the same waiter and asked why they refusing to give even we want to pay extra. In the end they agreed to give and the food is already cold. Wouldn’t suggest this place to anyone.
Seriously sorry service, stale food and a very very rude chef. Food was served that didn't match the menu. The fries served with burgers were cold and you can count on your fingers their quantity. When asked to correct portion as per menu, rude attitude was shown. The dynamite chicken dish was served with a bowl full of white cabbage with less than handful of chicken. When confronted on dish portion size, and mismatch of menu items they had an attitude to show for it. Overall a disappointing service and pathetic food.
Went to this restaurant 2 years ago it much better. Went this time and no one even was there to great and seat the customers. I ordered mixed grill the food presentation was low quality food taste was very bad.

Tried their sirloin steak, Italian baked macaroni and shahbander burgers. All items were fresh and tasty.
If I could I would rate 0 overall. Food is 2/10 at best. Service was extremely disgusting. No respect. One of the things we got was the dynamite chicken it was expensive and had 6 chicken pieces at max, the rest was just plain white cabbage. The portion sizes compared to the price is like from the ground to the sky. Would not recommend it for family dine-in.

We visited Salalah for the first time and initially struggled to find restaurants that suited our diverse dietary needs. One evening, while driving past Anantara Al Baleed, we decided to drop in and have a look, trusting the reputation of the Anantara brand.
We first stopped by Mekong where the staff were lovely, but the kids preferred a buffet with more variety. We were delighted to discover that Sakalan was hosting an Omani-themed night — a perfect chance to try local dishes.
From the moment we stepped in, we were warmly greeted by Arafaith and Yash, who gave us a full tour of the buffet and thoughtfully explained the vegetarian and kids' options. They even offered us the flexibility to order from any other restaurant in the resort and have it delivered to Sakalan if anyone preferred something else. We never felt any pressure to stay, but their hospitality made it impossible to walk away.
The food was excellent, with plenty of variety, and the service was truly exceptional. Chef Sufian personally came over to offer vegetarian dishes for my husband and pasta for our picky eater. Chef Ali at the barbecue counter explained the meat options in detail and cooked everything to perfection — always with a warm smile.
Asad was remarkable in his attentiveness; I don’t think our table was ever left uncleared for more than a moment. Cutlery was refreshed regularly, the table was spotless throughout, and our water glasses never ran dry. Yuli brought such joy to the experience — singing and dancing with our daughter, creating a truly memorable evening. Marichel and Laxman also checked in frequently to ensure everything was perfect.
We were so impressed that we returned the very next evening for the seafood-themed night — and once again, the service, food, and atmosphere were just as incredible.
What really stood out was the genuine happiness and dedication of the staff. It was clear they truly enjoyed what they do — and that reflects well on the resort's management.
If we return to Salalah, we will seriously consider staying at the Anantara Al Baleed. But regardless, Sakalan is a must-visit — not just for the food, but for the truly five-star service.

We had a very pleasant dinner at the Sakalan! The seafood all served very fresh with the cooking done very well. I especially loooove the grilled muscle and pink sauce, it’s done in perfection! I can feel that the staffs are very attentive to us from even simple gesture like exiting to the toilet.
One thing that stood out to us is the exceptional hospitality from Yuli, a staff member! She showed us a high initiative work ethics, asking us proactively what we needed, to which we got our long-missed jasmine rice. Our friend also got her ice cream which she has been craving for a long time the whole time we are in Salalah. All the best for Yuli, Yashi, and all the staff in the Sakalan!
We had great time at Sakalan Restaurant. Wide range of varieties. Amazing ambiance and seating area arranged veey well. Food was tasty, service was outstanding. They have very attractive theme nights, where food lovers can enjoy authentic flavour and great hospitality. I definitely recommend.

Staff was extra rude. From beginning no greeting or smiling. Not welcoming at all. Took food from i front of my daughter before she finishes and when we called him he didnt come till he threw it. When we told him how he did so he did not even apologise. Then we asked what will you do he said i will get another one. And he braught the wrong order and basically threw the new plate infront of my daughter on table with no even sorry or any remorse.
The food is awesome... I like their buggers ,texas fries, pasta,steak,and dynamite shrimp.. Everyone is friendly at the restaurant.

Nature preserve
Ayn Korr is a hidden gem in Salalah that unveils its beauty after the monsoon rains. Accessible via a scenic drive and a 30-minute hike or 4x4 vehicle, this seasonal waterfall cascades into an azure rock pool. While not recommended for families with young children, the 2 km trek is fairly easy and rewarding for adventurous spirits. Visitors are advised to wear shorts and slippers as they may need to walk through ankle-deep streams.
Very nice place, you have to back before the sunset because then the mosquito will be there a lot.
You can reach the wadi by sedan car but to enter to the waterfall you need a 4x4 or you can walk it, walking will take about 40 minutes, easy level where kids can walk to there also. The waterfall deserves taking that adventure.

Ayn Khor is a hidden gem in Salalah, surrounded by lush greenery and flowing waters especially during the Khareef season.

One of the most popular places in the season. What an amazing place .. the waterfall, trees and rocks, it's truly stunning view. There is an important thing that when the water level is high, It’s better to have a four-wheel drive car to passing to the waterfall easier and reducing the chance to expos your car to damage.
This is such an incredible place. I wish people can just respect it.
There are cleaning crew, but you can still see cigarettes butt and bottle caps.

Al Naseem Salalah Water Park is a fantastic family-friendly destination, especially during the cooler Khareef season. This vibrant water park features an impressive selection of slides, pools, and play areas that cater to visitors of all ages. The pleasant weather makes it a perfect time to splash around without the discomfort of extreme heat.

But the price is high as 8 omr per person above 120cm height. Below 120cm is 6 omr. Children and elderly above 60 are free.

We paid 8 Omr for entrance fee per person and additional 2 omr if you want to use a locker (which is average Size). Foods and drinks are not allowed inside but there are stalls where you can buy your food. We were planning to grab our food in the car, but the staffs refuse us to go out as they said we are already wet, need to dry ourselves first. So we don’t have a choice but to purchase food inside, which is a little pricey.
You can swim until 7pm but can stay inside up to 12 AM as the staffs said to us, which we didn’t do, because there’s nothing you can do there, only swimming.
Kudos to the lifeguards, they are very alert and focused on their job. they assure the safety of everyone specially Kids who are swimming.
The pools have waves also but i think there is only specific time they will open that. We enjoyed also the slides.
The Comfort rooms and changing rooms are clean,as there is a person who cleans the area but I noticed a weird smell every time I will enter in that “Room”. The water in the shower is very weak.
The park did not meet our expectations. Staff were unfriendly, the food was poor and the park could be cleaner. We were not allowed to bring water, even in 34°C heat – a serious issue, especially with two small children. Overall, a disappointing experience.

The ride are not safe and life guard are very relaxed due to less visitors. That is why they are a bit negligence. The place is not clean
While riding a three-person tube down one of the slides, the tube flipped over and all three of us got hurt. Two of us hit our heads hard against the slide with full body momentum, and the third person injured their foot. While we didn’t need to go to the hospital, we were still hurt pretty badly.

I visited Ethin Mountains in mid-June, specifically seeking a peaceful escape from the crowds. During this dry season, the landscape, as seen in the photos, was rugged and arid – not the lush green that many associate with Salalah's Khareef. Despite this, the expansive views were absolutely breathtaking and provided a wonderful sense of tranquility and exclusiveness. We encountered only a few other visitors and a bunch of camels. The kids thoroughly enjoyed the open space and the unique terrain.
If your ideal visit involves vibrant, lush greenery and you're prepared for more people, then Khareef (monsoon, July-August) is definitely the time to go. However, if you prioritize peace of mind, exclusivity, and don't mind the golden, sun-drenched landscapes and a bit of heat, then an off-season visit like ours is highly recommended.
For exploring Ethin Mountains, I strongly advise a 4x4 vehicle. I saw some 2WDs there, and at least one was stalled due to overheating. So, remember to check your brakes and radiators, and drive in a high gear while going downhill to use engine brakes. Remember to carry food supplies, especially drinking water, as facilities are limited at least during two trips in June.
This place… its something else, It brings the meaning of nature, couldn’t be better than this, if you wanna get back to nature you have to start out strong and this place is the right spot.
I visited on 13 July 2025, and it was already misty and drizzling—perfect Khareef weather. We enjoyed the drive up and down the mountains. Along the way, you can visit Ain Nabi Ayyub, which is worth a stop.
On your return, you can relax anywhere with mountain views. This area is especially nice in the late evening.
On the way back to Salalah, you can stop at the Ittin Square (Carnival area with restaurants) to enjoy some food and the atmosphere early at night.
Ethin Mountain in Salalah offers stunning panoramic views, lush greenery during Khareef, and cool misty weather. A peaceful spot ideal for hiking, picnics, and visiting Prophet Job’s tomb.

Been there couple of times and they are pretty good in what they do. Their samosa chat or ragada is one of the best in the Salalah. They have wonderful roti with yummy dal as well. Try their dahi puri as well.

A good restaurant in Old Salalah, catering to Indian patrons. Simple decor, good taste and quick service despite heavy inflow of customers. We had Sev Puri, Vadapav, Pani Puri, Bhel and Thepla of which Sev Puri was the best.
The staff is very friendly and cooperative. Good quality pure vegetarian food available.
Finding it is a wish fulfilment. Some of their dishes are 5star and some are 4star... And is highly affordable.

Food tasted good service was also average ambiance average. But be aware of hidden charges that you'll get in your bills that are 200 baiza per person.
Pakistani and Indian cuisines are unique in their own ways and this restaurant is famous for its Pakistani cuisine that is relished by every foodie. Ample parking space, friendly staff and spacious interiors are the positives while lack of family rooms is really disappointing. This place is a 'must visit' place for every gourmet and I would suggest them not to miss savoring the 'Mutton Paaya' in this restaurant.
